The most meagre portions are served at the this pseudo Japanese restaurant. The "chef" seemed robotic and bored when preparing the sushi. The miso soup was served in a bowl the size of a shot glass. The staff never quite acknowledged our presence except to bring our eye wateringly expensive bill. After returning from Japan, I nearly cried from this shameful experience. The owner/manager of this place needs to apologise to their customers. They would in Japan.

Some of the highest quality sushi I have ever had- you can tell they source the best

Very nice place. The hand rolls are fresh and very flavorful. The atmosphere is nice and the service was very good. I would definitely come back

Terrible service, we were a group of 6 on Friday, September 15 and after waiting 30 minutes for a table to be assigned to us (the restaurant was almost empty) they never served us. we get out

Went to visit this handroll bar for lunch, easy to get to with street parking. The place is sleek and modern, the server and chef were very friendly. The service was quick and there wasn't a wait. Did the salmon roll, the otoro roll and the uni roll. Wow! I usually judge a sushi spot on their salmon, the salmon was above and beyond, fresh, buttery, melts in your mouth. I highly recommend and they have happy hour, such a great value.

Our family of 6 tried so many hand rolled items, and all were fabulous. Some of favorites were the crispy shrimp, tuna dip with chips, the norichos, and salmon Ponzu. The chefs were outstanding and very nice. The matcha iced tea was great as well. Easy paid parking below the restaurant.

I can’t say enough great things about Sugo! The in-house whole fish butchery is truly impressive, and the craft cocktails are some of the best in Seattle. They even offer pours of Hibiki 21 for just $65, which is almost unheard of. The service is exceptional from start to finish. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the dining experience. If you’re looking for something new, elevated, and truly memorable, Sugo delivers a unique sushi experience you won’t find anywhere else.

I dined at Sugo Handroll Bar for their Thursday night global omakase with one of my dearest friends who heard about it through Instagram. Sugo is in the heart of Pike Place and the omakase seating was during rush hour, so parking and travel to the restaurant were a bit difficult. There was a lot below the building and some lots further down the street with more reasonable pricing. The restaurant is very nice - a little on the sexier side with the dark colors, dim lighting and modern music. All of the seating for omakase was at a proper sushi bar with two great chefs working. The chefs, hosts and servers all work together in harmony to create a welcoming, enjoyable, and fun experience. My friend and I felt attended to without being overwhelmed - plenty of time to catch up, laugh, and eat delicious bites. We got both the sake pairing and omakase extensions since this is one of the most affordable omakase experiences we've seen in Seattle. Each piece was really unique and had an interesting global flavor. I'd go back to eat the exact same menu again - it was SO good. The sakes were tastefully pared as well. The whole experience was about 2 hours from our arrival, to seating, to dining and was definitely a memorable one. PS - reservations are required for the omakase seating.

WOW! Had a birthday Here, This is my favorite place for sushi And so I decided to dine in for my birthday and I had the best time ever! I felt so special! They offered us sparkling sake to celebrate! It was so yum and fun!

Everything was so great! The chefs told me that they handle almost all of the fish in-house from start to finish and it really shows in the freshness! All the handrolls were carefully curated and ready to eat right away as the chefs season each one before serving. The cocktails we got were also delicious and unique! Highly recommend!

Every staff member was excellent. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make our experience a good one. Watching the individual pieces of sushi being made was very interesting. The tempura green bean and the mushroom sushi were very good. Really enjoyed our visit and would definitely return.

I tend to shy away from rolls because of the size. They're too large and too filling therefore I can't consume too much food. As I like to try various types of sushi I typically go for sashimi or nigiri. However, I wanted to venture out for something different and fun one evening and thought that I could handle a bunch of little rolls... and I was right! These rolls are small enough that I was able to tuck away several. 6 to be exact, but who's counting =P The fillings are very posh with the likes of uni, wagyu, and caviar. The price is on the splurge side, but it's oh so worth it. Every roll we tried was delicious! My husband never liked raw scallop, yet he really enjoyed it here. Do what I did and get on the wait list, then walk around Pike Place market while you wait to be called. It's a fun little restaurant in a fun location.

This restaurant is unlike any restaurant I've ever been to. It is basically a bar square that seats maybe 20 people. The staff was super friendly, the menu is limited to just a handful of items. All the rolls are probably six or seven dollars. All the drinks are somewhere around $10. I think I might've liked it more if there was sushi available as well. All in all a very nice experience I probably wouldn't go back because I just want more of a menu.

Amazing quality seafood and staff provided great service, Chef Han is truly a master of his craft and we thoroughly enjoyed the omakase-

What a great find here in Seattle. The sushi is fresh and tasty, the customer service is way beyond great!! Can't wait to go back!!

Sugo Sushi at Pike Place in Seattle is fantastic! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, and every roll is packed with flavor. Highly recommend trying their specials – consistently delicious and a true gem in the market area.

Refined Japanese food that is excellent and different from a standard sushi bar. Good selection of drinks. Excellent service and clean, modern setting. Can be busy but far enough from Pike Market to avoid crowds.

Sugo Hand Roll Sushi provided a fantastic birthday dinner experience! Our reservations were seamless, and the service was exceptional—attentive and friendly throughout the evening. The hand rolls were fresh and flavorful, making each bite a delight. It was a memorable celebration, and I highly recommend Sugo for anyone looking to enjoy delicious sushi in a welcoming atmosphere!

My favorite sushi hand roll place ! It literally melts in your mouth yet somehow the nori has the perfect crunch, the rice is fresh and warm and so is the fish. If you are looking to try the best handroll experience in Seattle this is it! Also a great spot for a date night.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere and place were perfect and congrats to Chef Jhonie he was exceptional! I’ll for sure recommend this place !
Amazing time at Omakase
I had an unforgettable omakase experience at Sugo Handroll Bar and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment I sat down, the team made me feel genuinely welcomed. The chefs were not only highly skilled, but also warm, engaging, and happy to explain each course as they prepared it right in front of me. Every handroll was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully crafted. The ingredients were top-quality, the flavors were clean and balanced, and the pacing of the meal was perfect. I loved watching the chefs assemble each roll with such care—it added an interactive and personal element that made the dinner even more special. The atmosphere was fun and modern, making it a great place to enjoy fantastic food without any pretense. For the quality of the fish and the caliber of the omakase, the value was excellent. If you enjoy sushi—or even if you’re new to omakase—Sugo Handroll Bar is absolutely worth the visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!
