I love Thai food and I love to discover new places when I travel! This place came strongly recommended and it did NOT disappoint! As the title states, I was only sad that I was headed to the zoo and unable to take the AWESOME food with me! The summer rolls, Panang and Pad Thai were all fantastic and the portions were large -- and this was lunch. The service was really good too and the prices were really reasonable! You will love it!

This is a modest little restaurant in a little strip shopping center. We went there because of the great reviews, and weren't disappointed. In fact, we returned once again for lunch during our stay in the area just to have the Nam Kay Tod just one more time. We're foodies, and loved this dish. The serving sizes are generous, and the prices modest. They didn't have their liquor license for our first visit, but have it now and we had a glass of wine and a Singha with lunch.

Great little place. Food was amazing, vegan options are easily available (remember to omit the fish sauce). Very yummo, will definitely hit this place when ever we’re in town. Take out or din in.

My partner and I visited this restaurant on our holidays. The staff where very friendly and there was a nice atmosphere. We had the chicken satay for starters and it was great, big chicken pieces and enough for us both to share. For out mains we had the red Thai curry which was really tasty - my partner and I visited Thailand last year and ate some great food, this was definitely on par! I urge you to try!! Book a table as it can get busy even on week nights.

It's a comfortable size restaurant, especially when you are dining on your own, staff are very welcoming and friendly, I had a papaya salad and Thai sausage, portions are big but if you're sharing then it's fine, the salad was as good as the ones I've had on the street stalls in Thailand and the Thai sausage even better as the meat is not dripping in fat.

I found Supannee through the tripadvisor app. The reviews were generally good and the location was perfect as we wanted something out of the craziness of San Diego in the Gas Lamp District. This restaurant is in a strip mall and the address was hard to find in the dark. We arrived 15 minutes before closing, at 9:15 p.m. We were told we had to make quick decisions as to our food choices, as the cook was turning off the grill in 10 minutes. We had two students visiting from Austria and one had never had Thai food before. Since we didn't have time to review the menu thoroughly, we ordered Pad Thai, Chicken Skewers and Chicken and Broccoli. The chicken skewers were plump and probably one of the best we have ever eaten. Unfortunately the waitress removed the plate with the marinated cucumbers before we had eaten the cucumbers. The Pad Thai wasn't as sweet as my daughter likes, but it was perfect for my husband, myself, and our students. The Chicken and Broccoli needed more sauce, but the ingredients were very fresh. Unfortunately the meal was very very rushed. And, as I have stated in prior reviews, I hate people mopping floors and crash banging around as they clean while I am enjoying a meal. This restaurant has excellent food, and the ambiance is very nice, but the owners need to work on customer service. Since we spent $80 and we were rushed out the door before 10:00 p.m. on a Saturday night, this restaurant earned two stars, but since the food is excellent, I am giving them 3 stars.

In a strip mall, which you might miss, is this plain but good Thai restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great appetizers and a good selection of beers and wines. Overall the food was good but the duck bowl had soggy and fatty duck. Tasty but not appealing when chewing it. Moderately priced

Ordered drunken noodles w beef and shrimp pad Thai. Only complaint is when they asked if spicy ok....I said fine. We couldn’t finish the food! Spicy to the point where I may have blown out my taste buds 👿

We went to a concert at Humphrey's and stopped here for dinner before hand. So glad we did! We ordered the green curry with seafood, & the pork see yew. Both dishes were delicious but the green curry was outstanding, the best I have ever had Yum! Nice staff with a very clean nice atmosphere! We had a great experience we will come here next time we are in the area!

Disappointed in the food. I ordered the Broccoli and peanut sauce with chicken. It was just steamed broccoli with some thin slices of chicken tossed on top and peanut sauce poured on that. The egg roll was VERY good though.

We discovered Supannee House of Thai during my annual (a whopping two years in a row) San Diego weekend birthday getaway. We arrived at our hotel before checked-in and decided to grab a bite to eat. We concluded that Thai food was the way to go; we did a quick internet search looking for a highly rated restaurant in the area. Suppannee House's was number one, with a bullet! We arrived at Supannee House thirty minutes before they closed for dinner prep. Without a flinch, the staff graciously welcomed us in with open arms. The food was delicious (with spice levels from 1-10), incredible service, and reasonable prices. Supannee also offers a wine bar, catering and is farm-to-table. I highly recommend Supannee House of Thai!

Tucked in a mall, the restaurant is lovely inside, open and well designed. All the staff were wearing red for Valentine's Day. Very friendly service. Cashew stir fry with chicken was delicious, so was the Pad see ew with shrimp. They did mix up the spice level on the orders, but we loved them anyway. Salty, but it's hard to find lo salt Thai food. Fresh roses on the table, free rose to each couple, nice touch.

Buddy and I tried Supanne while in San Diego. Great place! I had chicken-fried rice, Thai hot! And it was hot! Loved it. Buddy had pompano and commented it was great. We also had egg rolls, but felt they were average. Excellent service! I recommend this place.

We went to the restaurant with a group of ladies from work at lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food was wonderful and the hostess very friendly and informative. It is near Shelter Island across the street from Miguels. It is our new favorite Thai place.

Supannee is tucked in an unsuspecting shopping area on Shelter Island, offering very authentic Thai food. The best part is that the owner grows her own vegetables from two gardens in SD County, and purchases local/organic whenever possible. Definitely worth the small uptick in price for quality Thai.

This is the best thai food I have ever tasted. So fresh - they grow their own vegetables- and soooo flavorful! The hostess (owner and sister of the chef) is wonderful as are the waitstaff. Very friendly, lots of smiles...thanks for a wonderful time!

Took 11 people here based simply on the good reports on Trip Advisor. Was definitely not disappointed. We had several different appetizers and a variety of entrees. Everyone was extremely pleased with the flavors of all the dishes. Service was good. This place is very, very reasonable in their prices as well. Would most definitely return to eat here again when I am in town.

Enjoy all your favorites and then some! Love the summer rolls, Thai iced Tea, green tea and coconut ice creams.

Absolutely loved my experience! The Thai spicy noodles were out of this world—so delicious that I can't wait to come back for more! The Tom Yum soup was equally amazing, bursting with flavor. Plus, the ambience was fantastic, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable meal!

The spicy dishes are favorites of my wife and each visit she tries a new one. I stick to fried rice and the dish with crab meat is outstanding. Wait staff attentive, food very good but restaurant too loud.Tough to have dinner conversation so dine with someone you don't like.

Excellent Thai restaurant. My friends and I were looking for something somewhat lite after our fishing trip. The red curry with scallops was excellent, and the sweet and sour chicken was different from the typical Chinese version. All of the dishes we had were excellent.

This is a popular local spot and for good reason...The food is phenomenal. All the food was great, and the panang curry was the best...we’re going to have to come here again before we leave in two days. The restaurant has a casual environment and has approx 20 tables. It’s in a strip mall, and there was plenty of parking. This is family friendly place, and they have a nice wine selection, too. Service was quick and friendly.

Small restaurant, outstanding, fresh, home grown food. I recommend the spring rolls. Mine had shrimp and I am not a seafood lover, but the combination of mint and cilantro was too good to be picky about the shrimp. Actually did not taste the shrimp

OMG - I am so glad we found this place! The staff were so friendly and attentive. The owner came over to share that she grows most of her own vegetables and all her edible flowers! The cold Spring Rolls were huge and full of super fresh veggies, and the Peanut Dipping Sauce is very addictive. We both had Pad Thai which was average, and did try one of the many Thai beers which was good. For dessert you must give the Mango and Sticky Rice a try. It was fresh and AWESOME. The menu is extensive, thought we are not overly adventurous eaters. However, it was neat to see all the different dishes on the tables around us. Would highly recommend the great eatery!

This is not one of the great Thai restaurants, but it is more than acceptable. The food was good, the waitresses attentive, and the atmosphere a bit 'commercial'. The location is a bit of the way and parking can be constrained. Probably not a place you would want to take a date, but a great place for a family to go. A bit noisy.

Recently discovered Thai food at a a small local restaurant and decided to try a more popular restaurant in the Point Loma area. Supannee House of Thai was recommended by some friends. Wonderful restaurant and great Thai food. Large menu selection with a variety of tastes and spice. Selection of spice is offered from 1 to 10. We selected a 5 and found the degree of spice to be medium hot and perfect for our palate.Great service but it can get very busy on the weekends at dinner time.

A family with different taste preferences, including one vegan and one keto eater, was completely satisfied here. Their menu was diverse and everyone liked their choices a lot. Larb salad, red curry soup, soft shell crab, veggies with peanut sauce, spring rolls, Thai iced tea…they all were great. We had food left over and all left sated. Nice wait staff, clean restrooms, good parking. Good all around!

Great ambiance, great food, great customer service and i'm a Thai food expert so i should know. Tried the mixed seafood spicy noodles it was lovely.

Very busy location, food was great and was family friendly. Service was excellent. We checked with trip advisor for ratings and was satisfied with this place. When ever we are back in SAN we will be back.

I was craving Thai and found this little gem. I was not disappointed! Everything was so good and tasty!

My husband had chicken stir-fry sweat and sour which he said was average. He says he has had better. They had limited gluten free options and they will NOT make substitutions. This was disappointing. I ordered Phad Thai which didn't have a lot of flavor . The positive: It was hot and the serving size was large enough for 2 meals.

It's like an overseas cafe, you go for dinner and conversation, it's your early evening out, the kitchen closes at 8:30, 9 on weekends, so arrive early enjoy the food, conversation and a leisurely meal.

I ordered take out while on vacation on Shelter Island. They’re knowledgeable on plant-based cooking. The pad Thai was wonderful; next time I’ll get the medium heat. Hot was very hot. . I highly recommend.

Supannee was wonderful for our group of seven family members including our 18 month old nephew. He sat comfortably in his high chair devouring chicken and fresh broccoli. We had larb, pad Thai, sate, crab and salmon. Everything was delicious. Even for the Thai food novices, the Sate, crab and rice were mild but flavourful. The service was good. There were a few parking places at the restaurant.

I had never been here and couldn't have loved it more! My wife is a director at a school and she had a staff party catered from here. Everyone was beyond happy with the food, the portions and the visual aspect of everything we ate. The spring rolls were out of this world and a perfect finger food that all ages and get into. Their crab fried rice is delicious, pad thai and yellow curry, wow! The best thing was that they were able to equally please vegetarians as well as the meat eaters!

We had a great meal here, food was spectacular. We started with a chicken satay, which were huge and very tasty. My wife had the Drunken Noodles with Chicken and I had the Spicy Seafood Curry. She loved it and my curry was the best Thai Curry I have ever had. In addition the prices were extremely reasonable. The decorations were well done, simple but effort was put into making the place comfortable. Certainly a place to return to on a future trip.

We had a larger group dinning together and reservations ahead of time. There appeared to only be 2 waitresses for the whole restaurant on a Friday night and a waiting line to get seated out the door. Needless to say service was poor and the waitress could not keep track of who ordered what or who got which check. After a good amount our group figured out the mess. The staff was of no help in keeping our dinning experience easy. Food was fine if not good on most of the dishes

Our first dinner in San Diego not far from our hotel on Shelter Island. Superb presentation. Excellent "Screaming Tiger" dish and fried bananas with coconut ice cream decorated with an orchid. Will definitely return.

The Fried Rice tasted like Spanish rice and even looked like it too. The Pad Thai was way too dry. Very bland food.

Supannee House of Thai serves original Thai food in a very nice cozy setting. It is without a doubt the best Thai food that I have had in a long time and the best in San Diego. They are located at the end of a small plaza, shopping center with plenty of free parking. The menu is extensive and they can make each dish to suit you "hotness" requirement ! The dishes are excellent as are the portions. Might want to split a meal or take the leftovers home. They do not serve alcohol but do serve wine and beer. This is a Got-to-Try Thai restaurant if you like Thai food!

Our daughter who spent many months in Thailand found this place while we're on a short trip to San Diego. It is kind of hidden in a small strip mall. Decor was great and food wonderful. We ordered our favorite dishes and all came out great. Make sure to share as portions are plentiful. Staff were great and conversational, especially when they found out we had been to Thailand. Just be warned, parking lot is small and difficult to maneuver.

We loved this place. We had the pad thai which was i think $11 and came with a salad and spring roll. The pad Thai was sooo good! They also had a cherry cider which was different and was really good! Wish we would have went prior to our last day but it was good!

We enjoyed an impromptu dinner here. Great food and service. Also, away from city center (4 miles) and near the water. Nice option if wanting to get out of downtown. This restaurant also stays open after lunch (2-3pm) when many other places close.

At the last minute we decided to try something different than Mexican or American cuisine while in San Diego. We found this restaurant based on TripAdvisor reviews. Quite a nice little restaurant that obviously is popular with locals, at least based on the numerous takeout orders being served. Food was very fresh and nicely spiced but not too hot. The server recommended the Screaming Beef special which was wonderful and not nearly as hot as the name would imply. The Pad Thai Chicken was also very good but the highlight for us was the Mango Currie. Only disappointment was the Satay Chicken appetizer which was just mediocre, but the other dishes more than made up for it.

Niece graduated from Point Loma and our party of 11 needed to find a restaurant nearby to celebrate. Supannee's reviews were glowing so off we went to Shelter Island. What an absolute delight to have a celebration here. They accommodated our large group and were very attentive. The food was excellent: meaty, juicy, delicious chicken satay, shrimp/pork summer rolls with yummy peanut sauce, red curry was fantastic (picked 5 out of 10 in spice), whole fish advertised on the blackboard outside ($25) was fresh and tasty with a strong kick, crispy chicken wings (soooo good!), house Thai fried rice, drunken noodles with beef and OMG - sticky rice with mango - we can't get enough of it. The restaurant was so crowded when we left around 6pm on a Saturday. Get there early or call for reservations . We will definitely return !

Three of us dined there sharing a pot of soup big enough for six and it was great. I had the spicy squid spiced hot and it was delightful. One companions had pad Thai and the other had the curried squash both were equally good. Service was excellent and the pricing was moderate. Highly recommend.

This is my family's favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego. We love the Pad See Ewe, Pad Thai and they also have a great whole fish special. Their food is a bit on the spicy side so you may want to order a lower number than usual. They have great desserts too. Highly recommend.

My wife and I go to San Diego about 1-2 times a year, as we are members of the San Diego Zoo (excellent organization, BTW). We were at the House of Thai last year and thoroughly enjoyed the meal then. This time, it was a bit of a disappointment to both of us. We felt the food wasn't quite as good as last year. My wife ordered the Panang Curry with shrimp and I had the Hawaiian Rice. My wife said the curry dish was ok, but nothing special. The rice dish wasn't as good as last time and I had to wait an extra 10 minutes after my wife already had the curry. Water glass wasn't filled and I had to ask for refill. All in all, it was a disappointment. Food was good, just nothing special this time.

We went for a spicy Valentine's day dinner at the ever popular Supannee, house of thai. The house is in a non-descript strip mall with limited parkings. However, all these inconveniences were forgotten once we stepped into Supannee. The sights, aromas, sounds and services were obessively inviting....the foods...chicken satay, yum squid salad, roast duck curry, crab fried rice, supannee pad thai, halibut filet stir fry, fried banana with ice cream....were all refreshingly enamorally and tantalizingly additive. We swooped, swished, smacked and licked....the full royal spicy salute....LONG LIVE SUPANNEE, ROYAL HOUSE OF THAI!!!!!!!

This is excellent Thai Food. My husband, daughters and I loved it! Their dinner time is 5-9 pm. We went around 5:30 pm and were sat at a table immediately. We ordered the Summer Rolls as an appetizer. Outstanding! For the main entrees, we ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Pad See Ew and the Mixed Fresh Vegetables with Pork. All were excellent and the portions were big enough for all four of us. Prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the San Diego area.

Whenever my wife and I are here in San Diego, we always try to come here for at least one meal. We've been coming here for years. Wish we lived closer than 3.5 hours drive, as we would come here just about every week - which we found, chatting with some of the customers, they do! We enjoy the great food, and the service is also great. The owner also cuts flowers from her own yard to bring to the restaurant, which adds a nice touch. The hostess, T.K., is very friendly, chats at every table to see how the service and food is going, and of course, her regular customers. We had ordered the Pad Thai Crab and another dish, but then ... we saw the Fried Crispy Rockfish - fresh off the dock (!!) on another table and asked if we could order that instead. T.K. was very nice and basically said "No problem." We were so glad to try the Rockfish and both dishes were excellent! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody seeking good Asian food.

I enjoyed the chicken pad see ew, medium spicy. It was very good. I'm glad I didn't order it any spicier..it definitely had a bite and I can take hot foods. Prices are a good value. Parking lot is small-- you might need to park behind the building in the bank lot.

Supannee is one of the better Thai restaurants in San Diego, a restaurant that probably wouldn’t come to mind to someone who isn’t familiar with the Point Loma area of San Diego and is very moderately priced. You can get away with eating a very tasty Thai meal (lunch or dinner) for between $10-$20 per person. If you are in the Point Loma/Shelter Island part of San Diego, and are thinking of Thai food, Supannee is your best call. To the best of my knowledge, the Thai food served at Supannee comes as close to authentic Thai food as anything that is available in San Diego, including the spice levels. (If you ask for a spice level of 10 like I do, it really is a 10.) The service is great as is the overall value proposition. The décor is very tasteful and the restrooms are clean. The restaurant has expanded considerably over time, and despite the poor parking and larger dining room, the restaurant is reasonably crowded most times of the day, though not to the point that I have ever had to wait to be seated. The only draw back that I can think of regarding eating at Supannee is the parking. The center where the restaurant is located is fairly busy, and the parking lot is very small, even by Point Loma standards. There is some free street parking in the neighborhood, which makes up for the lack of lot parking though.

Had dinner here during my ddcc visit and loved the location on Shelter Island. Very friendly staf who served us well and were paying great attention to their costumers. excellent dishes and good price quality ratio. recommended

No, it is not the best Thai food I have had. But if you consider the options in the area, it is an excellent place. I particularly liked the choice of spice levels. The "hot" setting was just right for me. The green papaya salad was a well-seasoned generous portion. While the Pad See-Ew was good, it was not as good as others I have had. The tofu was a little dry and it needed more egg. However, overall a great lunch experience.

This is one of the best Thai places in San Diego and if you love Thai, you will love their food. Try the shrimp that is sautéed in oil and spices. It is wonderful. All of their food is great. I really enjoy their salads and anything with chicken is superb. It is located in a cute area in San Diego that you will want to visit if you are in the area. The service is great and ever so friendly. Right now, you can have delivery or pick up because of Covid, there is also very limited seating, but that will all open up in early June or sooner. Have the best time.

We made a reservation for 12 and were seated upon arrival, no waiting. Everyone agree their meal was exceptionally fresh and delicious. I had Drunken Noodles with Tofu and it was soooo good! Now I'm going to be craving it until I can return for a visit again. The only thing I didn't like about this restaurant (and we didn't know until the end) was that they don't do individual checks. The waitress would only allow 4 checks per table and that was very inconvenient and confusing. I've never had that happen at any other restaurant.

We were here on a Wednesday night, arriving around 6:40pm. Place was already quite crowded, but we were lucky in that we got a table almost immediately. I decided to avoid the usual Pad Thai, and ordered the Hawaiian Fried Rice; asked to verify that the curry powder would not affect the entree, as I cannot take hot spicy food - it didn't. My wife had the Panang Curry. We did have to wait about 20 minutes before the food arrived. Both dishes were excellent. Service was excellent from everybody we met, starting with the hostess, waitress, and I imagine the owner and/or manager. We did not have to ask for refills of water, as the glasses were filled at appropriate times. Because we had brought an igloo with us, we decided to take the Panang Curry (shrimp) in a 'doggie' bag, and my wife asked for the little rice left over to be packed also. Server did pack and brought the leftovers. We did not realize that she added some more rice to the leftovers, so there was enough for the left over curry dish! This was totally unexpected and we were pleasantly surprised. I think it's the first time this has happened! Prices are very reasonable, with our two dishes being around $12-14 each. I highly recommend this restaurant, both in food and service. You can't go wrong!

My wife and I had an excellent dinner, beginning with 4 spring rolls with shrimp that were very tasty and came with two dipping sauces, not just the usual one. We had a very good Tom Kha Gai (chicken soup with lemon grass) that was delicious and provided another meal for us the next day. We also had a shrimp pad thai that I liked very much - my wife was a little less enthusiastic, but we had ordered it mild, which is the way it came - if you like just a little kick, try asking it to be mild-to-moderate. One very nice thing was that the tables were spaced much farther apart than most restaurants, which made it possible to actually have a conversation without having to shout over people at neighboring tables - wish more restaurants would take than into consideration. The jasmine tea was wonderful - all in all, an excellent dinner at reasonable prices.

Good old grade school friends were visiting from the east coast and I wanted to treat them to the best ever Thai food! Supannee always a great choice! Eat in or take out!!

We ate here at the end of our Californian roadtrip on a Friday and the place as previous reviewers have commented on was really busy. Nothing really bad to say about the place but we felt that it was just average both in terms of the food and the service.

Well worth the trip from downtown San Diego to find this unassuming restaurant serving heavenly authentic Thai food. Interesting menus available online plus daily whole fish specials such as rock fish. We were brought here by a local and it was busy midweek, but genteel rather than rocking clientele. All dishes were delicious, the summer rolls were truly memorable as an appetiser. Also, possibly the friendliest, smiliest waitress in the world!

Wow! The food here blew us away. It was truly authentic and delicious. We ordered the Chicken Satay to start and were amazed at the amount of chicken, four skewers with a half a chicken breast on each one served with peanut sauce. Then we totally overdid it, we ordered Thai barbecue chicken and vegetable cashew nuts which came with rice and discovered we could have fed another two people! Of course we made the mistake of looking at the desert menu and could not resist ordering the fried banana with coconut ice cream, it was decadently scrumptious! Yes, once again the portion was very generous and very nicely presented. The staff are wonderful and you become a friend after only one visit. Highly recommended.

Based on other reviews, our experience may have been an anomaly but it will prevent our return. We made a reservation which I highly recommend if going on a busy night. When we walked up there was a line at the door. It was only 5:45! We stood there for 10 min before getting to the host. All the while several tables went un-bussed setting them even farther behind the rush. We finally were seated and ordered. At least 20 min passed and our server informed us it would be a few more min until our last two dishes would be ready and she would bring it out. We told her to bring whatever was ready. She did, along with a small cup of brown rice. "We have run out of white rice". Never in my life have I been to an Asian restaurant of any kind that ran out of white rice let alone by 6:30 on a Saturday. This was one of our worst service experiences in a long time. That being said, the food was quite good. Not significantly better than many other Thai places that will almost assuredly have rice.

Wife is Thai. Wife loves it. Nuff said. The character minimum is at least 100, so here are some more words.

We recently ordered a large take out Thai dinner while staying in Mission Bay, CA. After reading reviews on Supannee House of Thai, we placed an extensive order and enjoyed a Thai feast with happy family members. The food was delicious and well presented, carefully prepared and packaged. Especially memorable was the Yellow Curry with Chicken, Panang Curry with Beef, Egg Rolls with sauces, Chicken Satay, Pad Thai Noodles with Pork, and Sweet and Sour Pork. We ordered mild and medium "hot" temperatures in different entrees. We are looking forward to our next visit to Supannee House of Thai!

Great quality, friendly service, great portions for the price. Staff was super friendly & service was very quick. Definitely recommend stopping if you’re visiting Shelter Island.

My husband and I came here when we were staying in the area. We arrived at around half 7 and the restaurant was pretty full so we were pleased we booked. After a little while of standing around by the front door we were shown to our table. We ordered chicken satay and spring rolls to start; the spring rolls were lovely but the satay was dry and lacking flavour. We had a Thai green curry and a beef massaman for main, both with rice. The beef massaman was delicious- the beef was perfectly cooked and it had a great flavour. My husband enjoyed his green curry too. The portions were large so beware of ordering too much food! I think the service slightly let the food down. It was a bit sloppy- for example we were left with our mains for some time before we managed to catch somebody's attention to ask for cutlery. The restaurant was busy when we arrived so that might explain the service initially, but by half 8 it was practically empty... Based on the food alone though (minus the chicken satay), I would recommend.

Did carry out, and they had it ready quickly. Pad Thai was more flavorful than most Thai places. Would return.

We were hungry and happened to be near to the restaurant (finding it from trip advisor). Wow!! I can tell this is a local favorite. We love to eat Thai food and would rank our two meals as excellent. Cashew chicken stir fry (It was the best I’ve ever eaten for this dish) and Panang curry (excellent taste, still too hot for my liking, when I asked for mild. I’d give it a 9/10 only because it was too spicy). Overall, this place deserves one of the top ratings in San Diego. Service was excellent too

Great to have good Thai (which has gotten scarce in Santa Fe). The Penang curry had a nice spice to it, and good flavor. The pra-ram was a bit sweet but also great flavor. The chicken was plentiful and not tough or stringy in either dish. This would be a go-to place if we lived here.

Very rude people specially the lady at the front desk.. she needs to be fired. The place is really smelly as well

I was greet on entered. I did take out. Had the Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Wings. The wait time was reasonable and The server was friendly. The Chicken wing wasn't to greasy and the noodle were not soggy at all. The chicken wing was really good. Quite enjoyed it. The pad Thai was pretty good as well

The food was good and the ambiance was very pleasant. It is a good place for family dining. The staff was very knowledgeable about the food selections. I recommend that if you are not used to Thai spices to get the mildest spices.

We ate here twice in 3days and both meals where well prepared, tasty and good value for money. Great food, friendly service and unpretentious surroundings make eating in this restaurant a pleasure!! All in all a great place to enjoy super tasty Thai food. We would thoroughly recommend SUPANNEE HOUSE OF THAI,

Excellent lunch day specials! Always fresh and good...have not eaten anything bad here after several visits. My go to Thai place in San Diego

Best Thai food! Excellent service.(And we have been to Thailand) The garnishes were a feast for the eyes😍

We took a 30 minute leisurely evening walk from our Island Palms Hotel to try out this Thai restaurant. Truly authentic as confirmed from my visit to Thailand. The atmosphere was congenial, attentive service and generous portions of tasty dishes. We ordered spring roll appetizers, the green papaya salad with shrimp and the Choo Chi Duck which was mildly spicy. Paired with a Perrier and a glass of wine, the total bill including tax was $46 plus tip. Very reasonable as we walked out fully satisfied. This restaurant does not have WIFI. We were a little surprised that many eating establishments in San Diego do not have WIFI. We should have been better prepared with a roaming number, being from Canada. This location is very quiet at night with no roaming taxis. Our plan of getting an Uber ride was foiled! But friendly San Diego came to our rescue. We dropped in at the corner store next door and bought a few items. Then asked the fellow to call a taxi for us. He said he was the owner and about to leave so he offered to drive us all the way back to the hotel!! How friendly is that! It again proved our belief - "what goes around comes around" bad deeds and good deeds.

This is our 3rd time here and they never fail to offer the best in Thai food, Service and Atmosphere. You can order all dishes Thai 1-10 Hot. Ten is Very Very HOT but good. They serve wine or beer in a very pleasant atmosphere. Everything is very delicious !! The staff is very friendly and professional and the restaurant is very small with about 10-15 tables. The food is authentic Thai and out of this world. This is our go to place for Asian food when in San Diego. You will not go wrong trying Supannee House of Thai !

Parking is the difficult bit unless you can have authority to use a disabled bay, some are right outside and free. Good service, very good food and drinks. This is one of the best Thai Restaurants I have encountered.

The Supannee House of Thai was so good that we ate there 2 nights in a row. The food is real Thai food with all the flavor and spices you come to expect from Thai food. The portions were very large and the prices were very reasonable. We asked for different levels of hotness and received just what we asked for. The Green Salad with the Home Peanut Dressing was very good, especially the dressing. The Drunken Fried Rice, Drunken Noodles and the Pan Thai Noodles were excellent.

High quality Thai food, careful service, large portions (think twice before ordering both an appetizer and a main dish :) ), very reasonable prices.

We had just gotten into town, asked the Hotel clerk at our Best Western for a good place to eat. He suggested the House of Thai, so glad he did. We went there again the next night. The food is wonderful, the service and prices are also excellent. When we find a restaurant that we like, we usually always go back since we know they have food we like.

Went here with a colleague for a special meal after a long conference day. Took an Uber 5 miles to get this highly rated Thai restaurant. Was seated and given menus but had to wait way too long to even order wine. Another couple sat down after us and were served wine before we were even asked what we wanted to drink. This is just mindless and unacceptable. We had Tom Kah Gah which was delicious. I had the crab pad Thai and she had the seafood stir fry with vegetables. All was delicious but I again had to wait an inordinate amount of time before I could get some chile paste for my pad Thai. Disappointing! But then we each had the coconut ice cream which was absolutely outstanding! Only the best Thai restaurants have this caliber of coconut ice cream, the kind with toasted coconut flakes on top.

Delicious food! We had a ginger stirfry with shrimp (Pad Khing) and Drunken Noodles with chicken. The stirfry had lots of fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables, a lovely level of spiciness, and lots of fresh ginger. A generous dish at a reasonable price, too. Loved the drunken noodles, too. Not oily, as they can be in other restaurants. So why not 5 starts, you ask? We ordered two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. They were served room temperature, without an explanation of apology. Sorry, but that's not good enough. The other detractor: very busy place with a ton of orders to go, which made for a hectic environment and not a relaxing one. A crying baby didn't help -- but that we will never complain about. Will gladly come back for the delicious food, hoping for a quieter night.

We ordered takeout from Supannee last night. Timely service, delicious food....we had the spring rolls, and drunken noodles with chicken. Both were fresh, and flavorful. If you order on line, and use their coupon, you get 10% off. Definitely will be eating here over the next couple of weeks.

Since I travel to Thailand often, I love to try different Thai restaurants. Today was my first visit. We started with a hot pot of Tom Ka Soup. It was creamy and delicious. I am addicted to Pad Thai, so I ordered the lunch special. She had Green Curry. Both were fabulous. The lunch special included an egg roll, cantelope and green salad with yummy peanut dressing. The service was great. Looking forward to going back!

we love thai food - this place had authentic thai food, very good and nice portions for a very good price. they helped us adjust the food to our 2 year old son which was very helpful

The test of a good Thai restaurant is their green curry, and Supannee passes with flying colors. We're tried several other curry dishes and seafood entrees here and found them all very good. Tucked away in a small shopping center on Point Loma, this place is a bit of a hidden gem, and seems to have a devoted following. It's a little pricey for Thai food, but the quality makes up for that.

Had the Pad See Ew for lunch at noon on Tuesday, 1/5/2016. It was tasty, but by 6 pm I was OBE (open at both ends), clearly suffering from a bout of food poisoning of some type. (I didn't have anything else that day.) I spent the next two days holed up in my hotel room eating nothing but crackers and applesauce, sipping Gatorade. Minus four stars for undesired vomiting and diarrhea, as well as lost work and personal time. Partake at your own risk!

My wife and I had dined at this restaurant on a number of occasions during previous visits to San Diego and had been most impressed with the quality of Thai cuisine. Our previous visit had been around two years ago. Thus our expectations were very high. Sadly we were disappointed on this occasion: We ordered som tam, gaiyang, sizzling tiger (steak), mixed vegetables and white and prik nam pla. The som tham was very good, from there it was all downhill: The gaiyang was not the real deal, presented a little like KFC without the 25 herbs and spices, was basically baked chicken without much taste. the steak (an unusual inclusion on a Thai menu but we thought worth a try), was pretty average steak. The mixed vegetables was mostly cabbage and carrots and overcooked. The prik nam pla did not arrive. The steamed rice was OK Overall a very disappointing presentation from a restaurant that we had previously held in high esteem. We understand Thai food, having lived and worked in many years in Thailand and could recognise very early in the meal that this was perhaps an 'American version'. Supanne had somehow sold their soul, mediocrity being the standard fare

What a treat! Great spicy seafood, excellent green curry! Place was packed and rightfully so. The banana dessert is something you need to try!

We just finished eating at Supannee House of Thai. It was literally the worst Thai Food, and probably the worst overall restaurant I have eaten at in 25 years. I have been to Thailand three times, that is not Thai food. The Tom Yon Goong was lukewarm with raw shrimp. The chicken in the main course was like rubber. The rice in the mango sticky rice was crunchy. The service was non existent. I was charged for drinks that were never delivered. If you want a decent Thai meal do not eat here.

I chose takeout but there is plenty of seating available in a relaxing environment. The food was excellent! I would eat here again.

Always dependable and always the best Thai available. Who'dathunk you'd find such a good restaurant in a strip mall? We travel 35 miles from Carlsbad for lunch here. The whole rockfish is truly a dining experience like no other I've had. Order anything, you'll love it. Spoke with the chef at a Thai restaurant in vista who had nothing but reverence and envy for Supanee.

Great food & great service. Good price & good choice of menu for my friend who is gluten free. Definitely worth a visit.

Pretty good food for the most part. I will say, there is not enough protein in the dishes. Such as chili basil with chicken ! Meat could be more tender and more of it. Overall, its good. The service is a nice experience.

Still the same old same old. Nothing changes. We were seated and our "waiter" continued to chat with a cohort as he munched on something. Took his sweet time to store;; over to chat with us. Been going here for years and the service is still pitiful

Started with our favorites: Shrimp Summer Rolls and Chicken Satay. Both the rolls and Satay pieces were very tasty. But we were amazed that both dishes were twice as large as any I have eaten before. Usually, Chicken Satay pieces are flat and thin. These were fat and round - like half a chicken breast. We were already quite full after these. Then we shared a Ginger Beef and Cashew Nut Chicken. Again, the portions were huge. The quality of the ingredients were xnt. However, we thought the sauces didn't distinguish the dishes sufficiently. Even though we have eaten better Thai, I am sure we haven't seen such large portions. Our order could have fed four.

Came here for a Birthday celebration and couldn't have been better. Great Thai food here in this small out of the way strip mall on the street into Shelter Island. This has to be some of the best Thai food in San Diego. All with Great service and nice atmosphere. The portions while not too big are more than ample and you will probably go away with a "doggy" bag for a nice meal later. This place is not to be missed if your in SD and Point Loma area! You won't be disappointed here!!

The food and service at this Thai restaurant is outstanding! Everything we tried was hot and delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and accomodating and helpful to explain the parking when we asked(they saved me from getting towed and told me where to park instead). The parking lot is super crowded because there are several businesses that share a very tiny area of spaces. I would call the restaurant before you go and ask if there is a better place to park. It was worth the little bit of hassle to us because the food was soooo good!

Our family of 7 ate here on Christmas Day. It was one of the few restaurants that was open for dinner. It was a great find? Everyone ordered a different item and then shared. Every dish was delicious. Service was terrific. Too bad we live far from here, or we would go here often.

This place is LEGIT. Perfect for date night or going with some buddies. It is on the expensive side of Thai, but after going 4 times, I definitely give it 5 stars and will continue to go back.

Yummy Thai food - been coming here for years on our Shelter Island/Point Loma vacations. Lots of options, friendly service, generous portions. Comfortable and nicely decorated. Food is a little salty, but that's usual for restaurant food.

Didn't book but managed to get into this very busy restaurant. The waitress was very helpful with helping us make our minds up. Our food came promptly and were large helpings. A lot locals cruising in but us tourists were made to feel just as important.

Excellent Thai food. Spicy green beans and drunkin’ noodle dish were both great. Sweet and sour stir fry had extra to take home.

We stopped into the House of Thai again as this is our favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego. The food is very good albeit the portions are noticeably smaller. The quality is still the same and that is one of the reasons we like this restaurant. The service was not up to what we have experienced over the years but it was ok. The prices seemed a bit higher but overall we enjoyed our visit.

Visiting San Diego area recently and found Supannee House of Thai restaurant a little north of the city on Shelter Island Drive. A modern and clean place located in a little collection of retail establishments within a crowded parking area. The restaurant was quite busy during our mid week visit but it seems that even out of the way places like this are busy around San Diego any time of the day. We had Pad Thai and a curry dish all served with an egg roll and peanut sauce salad. The egg rolls were good but a little oily and the small "salad" was good size as were the entrees. We ordered medium spicy and they came out just right. We were happy with our experience and will plan a visit back when we return to San Diego and will try their dinner menu. Both the lunch and dinner menus are quite extensive and all items are moderately priced.

Very nice Thai restaurant...Friendly staff and delicious food. The food portion was somehow big and better to be shared with someone else.

My wife and I had just finished up at the wild animal park and were wanting to try something fresh We picked Thai and were glad that we did. Its all about the experience and this place made us feel right at home. The service was excellent and the food was great. It is tucked away in a neighborhood by shelter island but easy to find If we lived here we would put it on the top of our list.A must try.....

Get reservations for dinner, especially on a weekend. The place was packed. Took a long time to get seated, and a long time to get served. Asked for spicy condiments, but never got them. The roasted duck turned out to be pretty spicy without extra, but the drunken noodles, ordered mild for my wife, could have used them. The menu showed a good level of creativity compared to the usual Thai restaurants. The food quality was good. The duck was super tender and tasty, but the other ingredients were a bit over-cooked.

Unfortunately the Somtum I ordered did not come with field crab (the way it's served in the Isaan region). Very few Thai restaurants do serve it this way - you usually have to ask, The Thai Basil with chicken was very good and the atmosphere was also nice! Service was very good also! Prices are reasonable.

Not bad, the green curry and chicken satay are ok, unfortunately the service was moody and slow, other than that a reasonable place to have Thai in the area

My wife and I stop in here whenever we are in the San Diego area, usually after visiting Safari Park or the Zoo. We have never had a bad meal or service in the years we've been coming. And there was enough that we could even take it home with us, since we were leaving next day and had brought an igloo. It is usually crowded but you don't have to overly wait a long time for the meal to come. Service is excellent, staff is very friendly. We even talked to one person that brings the flowers that decorate the tables - from her own yard! We chatted a bit on the various flowers and she wound up even giving us a flower! Prices are norm for area and a sit-down good restaurant. I had the Glass Noodle dish with shrimp, while my wife had the Spicy Seafood - which she told me was Excellent and "slurped" on it; I do not eat spicy hot foods.

Went for dinner with a friend who likes wine a lot (as do I, of course). Here they have a very nice corkage fee, only $10. ( They actually have an OK wine list too, for an Asian restaurant, that isn't too common.) We brought in several German and Alsatian wines and had a good time of it. We ordered lots of good things: Tom Kah Gai, summer rolls, chicken wings, Thai Sausage, spicy mushrooms, clams in curry sauce, red curry beef, screaming tiger, larb salad and finished it all with mango sticky rice and green tea ice cream. (Interestingly we did not order any noodles.....) Anyway, it was all very enjoyable !

The lunch deals here are reasonably priced (~$10-$13). I ordered the red curry with chicken. The lunch came with a salad and a spring roll, both were refreshing. The curry was an excellent flavor. I will definitely come back. I typically like spicy (little habernero or less spicy jalapeño is my preferred heat level). When I ordered spicy, it was too hot for me. This time I ordered ‘medium’ and it was good but didn’t have the kick I was looking for. So, if you like spice, I recommend hotter than medium, and if you normally don’t eat spice and want to see if you like it, go for medium!

I had the shrimp spring rolls and salmon in peanut sauce. Both very tasty, but the salmon was a bit over cooked.

This place was great. The summer rolls were really good and very pretty with their pansy petals. We enjoyed a wonderful meal with extras to bring home and it was reasonable. We went on a Tuesday and the place was packed..... always a good sign.

Stopped by Shelter Island for a few days of R & R. Punched in a few restaurants around our hotel and this one had some top numbers for a rating and they did not disappoint. We were just a little late for lunch. They close at 3 pm and open back up for dinner at 4. The special was a whole deep-fried fish that looked amazing on a few diners plates but we were not as hungry so my wife opted for her favorite, a yellow curry dish and I had the duck pad thai. Lots of flavor in each with the use of locally sourced ingredients. Will be back for more the next time around.

I've eaten here a couple of times, and also had lunch here recently. The food is fabulous and the service is great. The spice level on the food was a five, and that was perfect for me. I can't handle too spicy, and this was fine. We ordered a bunch of different dishes and they were all delicious. I would eat here again in a heartbeat!

I was just in San Diego for 5 days on vacation, and we ended up eating here twice, it was so good!!! I love Thai food, and this is one of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at.

Based on the great reviews and the "farm to table" aspect, my husband and I decided to try Supannee House of Thai while on vacation in San Diego. There are several Thai places within walking distance of our condo on Pacific Beach, but we've tried them on previous trips and weren't impressed. We wanted to have cocktails with dinner so decided to uber to Shelter Island ($15 each way). We LOVE Tom Kah Soup, so ordered a hot pot, but we were very disappointed. It was a milky-white color (so not sure if most places add curry to give it a more yellow appearance) or if it was just missing something, but it was mostly mushrooms, which my husband hates and had a very strong lime (almost vinegar) taste. I was very worried about the rest of the dinner! Since it's difficult to mess up curry, I ordered the chicken yellow curry at a "5" (medium) spice level. It ended up being very good. My husband ordered the Chicken Drunken Noodles, also at a level "5". This was a good level of spice, nice little kick but not too hot either. He really enjoyed his meal as well. Our waiter was very nice and very attentive. We had our water glasses refilled several times. The beer, wine and dinners were very reasonably priced. We will probably not make a special trip to go again, but if we were in the area, I'd certainly give it another try, but won't be ordering the Tom Kah.

I have been here many, many times. One of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. The Massaman Beef (with tender, slowly braised beef) is the best I have ever had. It's hard not to order it every time I visit. Green Papaya Salad is great. So are the Thai BBQ Chicken, Choo-Chi Salmon, Pad Thai Crab and many other dishes. They also have nice beers and wine. I do not live in San Diego, but just thinking about this restaurant makes me want to go back.

Booked a table via Open Table at 8.45pm tonight. Our first server was lovely and made us feel welcome but 5mins later we were told the restaurant was closing soon and we needed to order quickly. We were then rushed from start to finish. Food was ok. I asked several times for our starter to come as a starter and then our mains and mains. I repeated myself a few times and our server seemed to understand, yet shortly after all of our food came at the same time. The Thai BBQ marinated chicken was tasty but dry. The chicken satay was nice, but again dry. Drunken noodles were tasty but chicken was dry again. Could have been had we not been rushed the whole time. Disappointing overall.

Family wanted to give it 6 stars and said it's the best meal to date on an extended road trip. We had spicy noodles with mixed seafood, screaming tiger, and broccoli and peanut stir fry. We also shared some summer rolls. All fabulous! Veges and seafood seemed fresh, and the flavors were on point. Sauces delicious too. Highly recommend this spot in Point Loma area.

I love Thai food and try to eat in at least one Thai restaurant whenever I am travelling on business. On my trip to San Diego I headed to 'Supannee House of Thai' and the ambiance and menu were spot on for a Thai restaurant. I was hungry so had both Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay to start, followed by Pork Pad Kee Mao. Starters were around $10 each and main dishes $15 so very reasonable. A very nice Thai meal and I certainly recommend it.

This is a terrific Thai restaurant and the value for money is fantastic. We tried several different things and all were wonderful. We'll be back.

Supannee House of Thai is a very good Thai restaurant located in a very busy part of town. Our small party had reservations which you should make especially on a weekend evening. The place is attractive and the service is good. The type of dishes were fairly typical except for some of their house specialties. I had the Screaming Tiger which was a marinated strip steak with a slightly spicy dressing. It was good but not exceptional. The prices are fair especially for the location. It is worth returning when we visit the area again.

Food and service were impeccable. Wish we lived closer. The fresh fish of the day was halibut and prepared perfectly. Good wine list.

Fantastic Thai restaurant. We were only staying San Diego for 4 nights and we decided to eat here twice it was so good. Best Thai we've had outside of Thailand. Staff friendly and attentive.

My wife is Thai and her exact words were It's as good as my Moms. I found the pad Thai outstanding and very flavourful. I'm guessing the previous review had this place on an off day. We sat next to regulars who advise that some of the spices they use come from their own garden and the food is always consistent here. The decor is super modern, it's clean and they have a semi private seating area for a group, but parking is limited. We found it on trip advisor and it was a home run as far as I'm concerned. Try it you won't be disappointed.

We went here for lunch and came back two days later for dinner. Very good Thai food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Owner has her own garden for some of the fruits and vegetables! Close to Shelter Island.

We had a great meal at Supannee. Our server was very friendly and the food was delicious. The meals are packed with flavor and the portions are generous. Go enjoy a meal at this great restaurant!

The Thai food was good as was the service. The staff was very attentive. The place is very clean. It is good for family dining as well as solo.

Walked past this place originally and saw it was packed with locals and tourists alike. Went back next day, good and tasty Thai, a real surprise.

Our extended family was visiting San Diego and we wanted to try out Thai food. Supannee turned out to be a great choice. We ordered from the lunch menu. The food presentation was awesome and the taste was even better. We each had a different item and everything was delicious. The staff was quite nice as well. The entire bill was a very good value as well.

Ordered soup and spring rolls to start. The soup arrived in this big terrine. Far too much for one person. Main courses came out when we were still eating starters. Not impressed by that as we didn't know what to eat first! Ordered a seafood and peanut satay main courses. Good portion sizes and prices per dish. Asked for a doggy bag as we couldn't eat it all!! Lovely coconut ice cream.

The food is great and the ambiance is mellow and kind of romantic. Highly recommended for people looking for some a little up scale Thai Restaurant.

Food was great, although service was a little chaotic at times. Staff made up for little issues with their friendliness and eagerness to please. Fairly priced too.

We were craving Thai food and the greeter at our hotel (Humphreys Half Moon) suggested this place. We walked there (1/2 mile) and the food was so good! We had soup, rice and pad thai! Reasonably priced and a good dining experience.

Ok Thai food. Small but well prepared. Nice little place and good food and service. Never had anything great or bad.

If I lived in SD I would be a regular here, for sure. This is one of the best Thai meals I have had. The ladies who run this spot are VERY sweet and friendly. I had the Tom Kah Gai soup which I shared with my 4 year old son. We loved it! The balance of flavors was perfect and it was so refreshing. I also shared the Pad See-Ew with organic tofu. I love pad see-ew and ordered it whenever I get Thai food. My son and I devoured this, it was so good! Sometimes it can be salty or overcooked and the noodles are just mushy. The tofu had a great chew and this dish wasn't oversauced, oversalted or mush, instead it was seasoned perfectly. My husband Geng Kiew Wan (green curry) hot. It was just spicy enough that the enjoyed it and it didn't overwhelm the actual flavor of the curry. He loved it and I will take his word for it because it seemed too spicy for me to try.

Delicious food, friendly service, no-frills restaurant. The summer rolls were authentic, fresh and refreshing. The restaurant was quiet, friendly, welcoming and clean.

Very nice restaurant. My colleague and I enjoyed the Vegetable Egg Roll and Chicken Sa-tay (the biggest I've ever had) appetizers. My colleague enjoyed the Organic Tofu Panang Curry (Geng Panang) and I had the Chicken Panang Curry (Geng Panang) and we mixed things up with Veggie Thai Fried Rice. The staff was nice and professional. I'm attaching picture(s) to help all you Tripz'ers out there make an informed decision.

The food is very good and also has the right spiciness. The selection of wines is considerable. The Service is very friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is authentic.

Four of us with very different tastes all enjoyed our selections. My parents had the pineapple fried rice and coconut chicken soup. I was afraid the rice would be too sweet, but the seasoning was perfect. The same with the soup. I had the crab pad Thai and it was great. The soft shell crab on top wasn't really necessary, the stone crab in the dish itself was plenty. My husband had the pompano, and it was the star of the dinner; a whole fish, deep fried but not battered. The sauce was brothy, savory and sweet and the vegetables on top were gingery and fresh. I wish we were in town longer so we could visit again!

We have eaten here 3-4 times. Their food is ok, nothing spectacular. Large portions. We had the noodles with Tofu and a chicken dish with vegetables. Priced right at $22.00

Supannee House of Thai is a great Thai restaurant in a nice location that while a fairly busy area, allows you to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown San Diego. Every time I have been the food, service, and atmosphere has been very nice. The food is genuinely great and it is always my go to Thai restaurant. The only negative is it can get a little busy, and the parking lot is tiny and often overcrowded. That being said, that has nothing to do with the restaurant and their are plenty of other parking alternatives in the area but just give yourself a couple extra minutes to find parking if you have a reservation. My favorite is the pineapple fried rice, I then mix that with one of their excellent curries for a great and tasty dish. If you are looking for great Thai food, look no further.

Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere in restaurant. Varied menu with hpuse specials and prices were excellent. Food was very tasty and good portion sizes. Highly recommend.

An excellent place very good food very tasty Some dishes were very different that you do not find in usual Thai place

The perfect thai place! Fresh and authentic food. It is a must when I am in San Diego. After 6 visits I still love that palce. Never had bad food there. The eggplant delight is fantastic.

The food here was good, but the service was horrible. It was Friday night, but only 5:30 pm so not slammed ... the food took a really long time to come out. The worst part about the experience is that the waitress spilled an entire glass of water on the table and on my daughter. It even got her phone wet. There was little apology for the incident, so we would not return there since there are so many good Thai restaurants in San Diego.

They don’t have a liquor license right now but you can bring your own in! There is a wine bar right next door and the prices are reasonable. I had Drunken Noodles and they were as good as any I’ve had elsewhere. It is not a fine dining experience but one up from a coffee shop.

This was a real find! They may have served us the best summer rolls we've ever had and one of us had the Hot Thai Basil dish and declared it one of the best ever. The service was excellent, all with smiles and conversation.

Service is unobtrusive and courteous. Loved the stir fry with eggplant (melts in your mouth) paired with succulent duck. The stir fry with cashew nuts paired with chicken was sweet. Level of spiciness can be controlled if you prefer a milder option.

After trying 4 other Thai restaurants in San Diego, I have finally found my new favorite! Supannee House of Thai offers the true flavors of Thailand. They nailed the fresh spring rolls with shrimp and dipping sauces, the panang curry, the kobocha curry, and the drunken noodles. Also, the thai tea with the boba--nice twist on Thai tea! Prices are very reasonable, esp. for the quality. Go early. This place is quite popular and gets packs quickly. There is free parking, but the lot fills quickly. We will definitely return!

Really very good Thai meals - enjoyed their food on 3 occasions in a week! Papaya salad was crisp with all the delicious flavours of lime and fish sauce. The pad Thai was excellent as was the green curry and red curry. Chicken satay for starters was also delicious. Staff also very friendly. I highly recommend. 10/10 for me. Thank you.

We went on a very busy week night. No reservation. Didn't think we'd get in. They were wonderful and made a table for us. Party of three. The owner or manger fussed all over my son. Gave him wonderful coconut ice cream. Even though I was the one with the visa. Lol! The food was excellent. We really enjoyed our dinner here.

I went here with my family and loved it! Very authentic Thai food. The customer service was great and the restaurant was tastefully decorated! We had a great time.

This Thai restaurant was rated the best In San Diego. We ordered the papaya salad and it was the best I have had, so spicy, lots of flavor, and so fresh. We love heat and had 8 out of 10 on scale. Our faces turned red while eating but we asked for it. Then we ordered spicy seafood and the mussels, shrimp, scallops were perfectly cooked in a wonderful spicy sauce. I could eat there everyday. The service and atmosphere was excellent!!

All of us are great lovers of Thai Cuisine, so tried it out and our daughters did the legwork from Island Palms All the dishes were enjoyed by all of us and the portion sizes were generous in size.

Supannee was excellent. I had chosen it as one of three options for a special luncheon with friends, and one in the party had been before and said it was one of her favorite restaurants. So the choice was made and none of us were disappointed. Service was excellent. Food was terrific, and priced very well. I would definitely go back again when in that area and will recommend to friends.

Two of us enjoyed a romantic dinner. Wide, interesting selection. Try the squash curry with scallops. Cooked perfectly. A candle on the table would be a nice touch.

We had read about this place in Tripadvisor and decided to try it out. I’m very pleased that we do as it turned out to be an excellent Thai dinner experience! We had four different starters between us and were truly content upon leaving. Great service too!
Amazing food not to be missed
WOW - if you love Thai food don't miss this restaurant. The food is amazing, I would have gone back if I had been there longer and its really affordable. They also do takeout.
