Good drinks, so so food...

The 7 performances scheduled for the New Year's Eve dinner were amazing: Two fabulous burlesque dancers, an old style mother-daughter vaudeville team, several cabaret style singers and even a fire acrobat! Just fabulous entertainment with GREAT food which included a delightful chocolate mousse tart to start the New Year in a sweet note. We had a great time and it was yet one more definitive proof that avant garde NY is now totally in Brooklyn

We visited Brooklin and chose not to eat at the market due to it being crowded, we walked around the area and found this incredible place… delicious dishes but especially the Pork chop! Juicy and very very tasty! One of the best I've ever tasted... all the dishes we ordered were delicious! Pleasant and beautiful atmosphere, very different and great and welcoming service, we were with two children and delicious kids dishes too.

Not a fan of the food or staff, but love the atmosphere

I can’t say enough. I’m not huge fan of pork, but the man n cheese and the fact my server recommended it (unfortunately I forgot her name), but I am a fan and I will get back! The Pork Chop was to die for! Service was good. Food was great!!! Must Try!!!!

We were struggling to find a bar in the area of Brooklyn we were in but a very helpful chap directed us to this bar. It was nice and quiet and still had a good atmosphere. Friendly bar staff and a nice range of beers. We didn't order food but the guy next to us at the bar did and didn't seem to have any complaints about the burger he devoured in minutes. Will pop in again when in Brooklyn.

We were attending a production of Julius Caesar at the nearby St. Ann's Warehouse Theater and wanted a bite beforehand somewhere close. We enjoyed the BLT and fresh mozzarella, Genoa, and zucchini pizza, and the waitstaff was very cognizant of our time constraints. A delightful find!

We crossed over the Brooklyn Bridge and spotted "Superfine" eatery. Casual place with a bar. Prices typical of NYC. We sat down for lunch and noted a few other patrons. We all ordered beers. Both my girlfriend & myself ordered a Portobello mushroom sandwich, my husband a hamburger, and my friend's husband a steak sandwich. Our sandwiches were all bread, one measly sliced portabella with spring lettuce and a dollop of goats cheese. My husband said his hamburger was ok. But my girlfriends husband said his steak sandwich was so chewy his jaws hurt. The fries were very disappointing. Not crisp or tasty. We all ate because we were very hungry and had places we wanted to visit. After complaining and getting some "back talk" from the waiter/mgr? one meal was taken off. We ended up a couple of hours later, eating at Brooklyn Park, at a casual eatery with tasty, quality food.

The place seems to be a little forgotten. Set in a typical industrial type decor, pleasant and giving the client good expectations. But then the menu looks good but the outcome seems rushed and not up to the quality I was expecting. No time to take a breath between courses : a dinner is not a race !

For the best grilled pork chop EVER, run--do not walk--to this restaurant! We ate at the bar, and one of the bartenders, Ernesto, could not have been more friendly or attentive. And another staffer, Page, made us feel very much at home. Definitely a must-visit restaurant!

Once the Brooklyn Bridge was crossed on foot and the wanderings in the DUMBO district were over, it was time to eat and we found the perfect place with this restaurant, almost invisible from the outside and yet very large. A cinema setting with this large counter, the parquet flooring, the high ceilings, the staff, all smiles and attentive. The hamburgers are excellent but what about the homemade French fries? A real treat, all thin, just crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If we let ourselves go, we would happily have a few plates again. The bill is not painful (relatively speaking when we talk about eating in New York) and we leave full of energy to take the ferry back to Manhattan...

A huge restaurant with a substantial bar area, Superfine serves up surprisingly excellent dishes for what at first glance seems like a raucous food hall. At 6:30 pm, our server kindly moved our table of six from mid-mayhem to a back corner, but the noise level was still pretty high. That said, it's worth checking this place out -- perhaps not at happy hour! Best dishes were a tender calamari salad, delicious bison steak, fresh split pea soup, tasty scallops.

We stumbled across this place after walking the Brooklyn Bridge. Great find. The venue is just cool. It's an old building repurposed. The burger was decent, the beer tasty, and staff were efficient and attentive. Even went off menu to prepare something for our child. Overall very impressed.

We LOVED this restaurant. Great busy vibe. We walked over the Brooklyn Bridge, did some exploring, then dinner here before walking back with night time views. Its under Manhattan Bridge in DUMBO. We had pork chops and creamed potatoes (mash to those in the UK) and they were huge and delicious and cooked to perfection. SUPER service (thank you for our complimentary bubbles as we were celebrating!) - we would have been back but didn't realise they were not open on a Monday. Sad times! We will be back another time.

Great atmosphere - especially for a dinner with a group of friends. The menu is classic with a twist and the food is on point.

You need a reservation for this busy restaurant filled with locals and tourists. The menu changes frequently and the portions are on the larger side. The decor is unique and artsy and it is located under the Manhattan bridge, the restaurant rattles when trains pass over. The staff was slightly abrupt, but the place is busy and there is limited space. The location is an ideal walking distance from most DUMBO attractions.

I had brunch here with my family. The food was disgusting -- watered down beans and under-cooked fish. We returned 2 of 4 of our dishes. Then as I we were walking out, a bottle cork flew in front of my face almost hitting someone. It was a bartender opening a bottle of sparkling wine. I'm not going back.

My daughter and I were walking around Brooklyn looking for somewhere to eat that looked different and walked into this beautiful bar and farm to table restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was fantastic.

My wife and I were headed out for a bike tour in Brooklyn starting in Dumbo. All we could find was a Chipotle. Then Superfine appeared on Google maps -- right near the Jay St stop on the F line. We were very pleased with what we found. Big space with lots of interesting local art hanging on the wall, bit of a converted warehouse feel, one of the better meals we've had in the city for a town price. I highly recommend the Fish tacos. My wife had an excellent shrimp dish. We were very early for lunch, so speed of food was excellent. The owner was very friendly. The waitress was succinct. Overall a great find, we would like to return.

The atmosphere is very fun. I DO like this place and frequent here often. If you're going for a fun, lively, not pretentious place to eat, this place is definitely good. If you're looking for great food, you're probably better off going to a slightly fancier place down the block, like Al Mar. They have a huge bar, plenty of tables, free pool table too. Sunday brunch is good and real cheap. Beware of the man in the vest that is always at the pool table on weekends.

A hip hang-out place in Dumbo, near to fantastic sunset views of Manhattan, with free pool table that I couldn't take advantage of. Mostly Mediterranean fare - good but not cheap.

Really cool spot in DUMBO. Only stopped in for 2 quick drinks at the bar and a quick bite, but the drinks were awesome and the Chicken tortilla soup was amazing! Can’t wait to come back!

We chose Superfine because it was near St. Ann's Warehousse. Upon arrival they asked if we were attending a show. Very professional. Our waiter made sure we were attended to and able to leave with time to spare. Everyone was very pleasantly surprised by the food. The pork chop was excellent. Steak au poivre received great reviews and the fish du hour (sea bass) was terrific too. Note: the menu changes every day. We are going back! Happily addressed my lactose intolerance.

Went solo and was very comfortable. Friendly staff, excellent food, great atmosphere, great bar, right next to Manhattan Bridge. It is a fantastic DUMBO location. I ordered the pork chop dinner and never had a pork chop that large or a serving that large in Brooklyn or NYC. Great tasting, the bar area was busy as well as the restaurant but not a wait time. Highly recommend

Food was great, and fries definitely superfine. Love the pool table, chilled atmosphere and friendly staff. Would recommend.

Stumbled across this place whilst out wandering with friends. Was a great find! Super tasty good, really chilled out good vibe. The homemade lemonade was gorgeous, and the blackfish in brioche was heavenly. Cocktails were really tasty too. All in all a great find, and really reasonably priced too. The service was fantastic too.

This, neighborhood hangout sports a pool table, split-level bar and superior food. The menu covers the essential meat, fish and vegetarian with imagination and high quality produce and meats. Early evenings are family time and local artists finishing their work-day. Later the crowd is younger and less family oriented. For a taste of "Country" in Brooklyn try visiting for brunch.

We had a nice lunch here and told the waitress we would leave a cash tip as was paying by card. We left our tip and left the restaurant, we are now home and have found that they have added and extra 8USD to our bill. They obviously wasn't happy with what we had left so decided themselves to make up the tip without our say so. This is completely wrong but what can you do about it once you are back home?

Amazing experience, wonderful food' worth every penny. Cool place!!! Worth the visit...very cool! Excellent price and excellent service!

was treated to dinner by my cousin Chris after a tour of Dumbo at this place. There was a n occasion happening for NY writers I think that was just winding down when we arrived so a lot of tables were available. ordered a burger same as my cousin and was glad I did, very good burger! the pork chops were also good and the thinly sliced fries went well with our meals.

Fun atmosphere; pretty good food.

I'm always impressed when I find a place that is packed from brunch until close in the wee hours of the morning. Essentially, the staff work very hard, the food is good, drinks (including cocktails) are great. They have fantastic live music on a Sunday (we were there late lunch) - a genuinely high standard. And, I believe, although we left around 11pm, that it's great until late. Their brunches are enormous and all that I saw looked fabulous! It's in a great spot in DUMBO - close to the river and some great boutique shopping to walk off the food/drinks.

Superfine Brunch is a great Sunday tradition and Superfine is as good a place as any to enjoy it. Do note that the bluegrass music starts around noon and as the place doesn’t open until 11am you might just want to factor that into your timing. I had the breakfast burrito which came highly recommended. It was pretty good, but I wouldn’t place it right at the top of the heap. The so called home fries were thick slices of jersey bennes (normally a great potato boiled, grilled or fried) but no potato is good when it’s not cooked through. Three of my five pieces were like that. The pancakes got a seriously big tick, and the house eggs dish (poached in this case) passed the test too. Coffee was average.

Very nice space with good dishes… some very good thin fries ;) We passed by by chance and decided to try it and it was a pleasant surprise.

Thank you so much to the extremely friendly and warmhearted bartender!! My mom was not feeling well, so she sat outside on the bench. I went inside to buy a coke so she could have some sugar and feel better. The person behind the bar immediately looked for a plastic cup, filled it with coke and when I wanted to pay he refused. I was totally surprised and extremely greatful! We will certainly come back to have lunch in this wonderful gem in Dumbo! Thank you again for your help!! Happy holidays!

We found this place without asking around, just walking around looking for somewhere to have a lunch-time drink and something to eat. (In that order) Most of the customers appeared to be locals (including a baby shower party) - which is always a good sign. We bellied up to the bar, had a few drinks and ordered the eggs plate. Good food at a very reasonable price. And they have 'Old Speckled Hen' in the widget can - one of the best beers to cross the pond from England. Plus ... you are served by Scott ... a David Bowie 'look-a-like' and excellent bartender. He modestly shrugged-off the 'look-a-like' suggestion, but really ... with some hair work, the right cosmetics and clothes he could earn money with an agency that books 'look-a-like' personal appearances even if he can't sing a note like Bowie. This is a cool place. Not touristy in any way and definitely worth a visit. Then when you leave ... be sure to visit "Natchie' directly across the street. A not-to-be-missed store featuring the impressive art of artist and singer-songwriter Nadia Ackerman. She will be famous one day. Buy her artwork now whilst it's still affordable.

I frequent Superfine very often and find the food and staff excellent. Steaks are great as well as the Pork chop. Just stay away from the big guy behind the bar. He has a chip on his shoulder about something ...

A great dinner in a beautiful location in the heart of Dumbo. Red brick walls, soft light, but casual and non-formal atmosphere, at the entrance the bar counter on the left, a billiard table on the right and in front of the dinner room. The food was unanimously judged really good, especially for the meat part, which I could directly appreciate thanks to one of the best duck breasts ever eaten in my life. Accompanied by spinach and mashed potatoes. Perfect cooking with crust on the surface and tender and pink meat. Very good also the pork rib that my wife took, accompanied by a good and well prepared, as well as “out of place” (in the sense that we struggle to understand its presence as a side dish of this dish) mac & cheese. Judging by the satisfaction of my little one, even his tacos with fried catch of the day, was judged very good. While we waited for the main dishes we shared some well-made nachos with sauces. Very good also the local Pale Ale beer. The only thing I do not understand is why the customer is charged the cost that the restaurateur has to face if the customer pays with a credit card. It's the first time this has happened to me and I don't know if it's a New York custom yet, but I find it absurd.

Probably the best restaurants in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Great food and Friendly service. Used to be a Car Repair Shop/Garage turned into a restaurant. Great Mediterranean food as well as Burgers. Un des meilleurs resto a Dumbo, Brooklyn. Située ds un vieux Garage, Superfine propose un menu méditerranéen ainsi que des Burgers... Tres bonne nourriture & serveur tres sympa. A essayer. 🍴 @overtimetravel (IG & FB)

Love this place and have been going for years. Everything is good pasta and steak are great. The wine list is fab and the service is like going to eat at an old friends house.

great weekend brunch

A hip restaurant just in the under-the-bridges neighborhood where we tasted the burger with a Old Saratoga IPA (local beer). The athmosphere and the beer were great - the burger ok.

GREAT DRINKS,

My boyfriend and I went here on recommendation from the manager at Bubby's after we arrived to find it was closed for a private function. The atmosphere was exactly what we were after and felt very 'Dumbo', laid back, arty, very cool yet unpretentious. The food was brilliant and reasonably priced. I had sea bass while my boyfriend had steak with the best fries ever made! The desert was out of this world, I think it was called Oreo Cake? We had one then had to get another for the road. Definitely recommend Superfine if you want a true Brooklyn dining experience.

I go there every time I visit. It is hip, great atmosphere and great music, very neighborhood kind of place. Food is great. Owners are great and make you feel at home. I love it.

funky casual setting and great organic menu that changes everyday... you might wait a little while but definitely worth it.

Nice place in Dumbo. My suggestion: The Bee Gee (for Gin-Lovers) Never had something to eat there, so I'm not able to rate that...

A step away from the crowds under the Brooklyn Bridge, in the post-industrial room shared with a noisy pub, the kitchen churns out perfect burgers and sandwiches loaded with chips with the possibility of a nice light beer

Superfine was the setting for a special Mother's Day brunch. The converted warehouse setting and unique decor, the menu and service were all very good. My omelette was wonderful as were all the choices selected by our party. The restaurant is in a unique location in Dumbo, on a cobblestone street with shops and restaurants on the street. It is walkable to the riverfront and a short walk to the F-stop on the Metra line. Nice & safe walk from the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge hotel (or short cab ride) if needed. Recommend.

good bar, okay food... good "hanging out" place

If you are going to a play in Dumbo or simply want to enjoy a relaxing meal, this is the place. Excellent service, attentive staff, delicious food (especially desserts). Relaxed atmosphere but comfortable and attractive, suitable for most any occasion.

Taken here by a friend who knows his way around DUMBO, and it was ideal for a Sunday brunch. Great atmosphere, intelligent use of an old space, enjoyable live bluegrass band playing. It was busy, but not too busy, the band was loud, but not too loud. Service was prompt and friendly, attentive without being intrusive or subservient: my wild mushroom omelette was fresh and delicious. To be recommended.

Inclusive and casual atmosphere. Hiply decorated in a nice location in Brooklyn. Prices are reasonable by New York standards.

Superfine is a DUMBO stalwart. Under the Manhattan Bridge (quite literally) in a former commercial building. It's so understated from the outside it almost feels like entering a speakeasy. But once inside you discover a really beautiful, sophisticated, restaurant. The menu changes frequently -- many items change daily -- so check the menu and ask the wait staff -- they're really friendly. Every meal I've had here, over many years, has been excellent. Prices seem a little steep considering the non-prepossessing exterior but considering real estate costs in DUMBO, Superfine is very reasonable.

The food is OK not Super. It's nice during quiet hours after just gets stupid and noisey.

Not a massive menu but good diner-style choices and quality was fabulous. Great cocktails. Excellent Service. Relaxed atmosphere.

I proposed to my partner in the Manhattan Bridge Park and then we celebrated with dinner at Superfine back in 2009. Returning to celebrate our anniversary in 2011 we were not disappointed. The restaurant still manages to provide high quality and inventive cooking, with a small but beautiful menu and great service. I love this place and it makes the best Bloody Mary's I've ever tasted. It's an NYC visit must. We will always come by when we are in the city.

Chose the superfine location as Alex McMurray was the musician playing for brunch. This place certainly did not disappoint. Buttermilk pancakes flavorful and quite delicious, breakfast burrito bountiful with a myriad of flavors. Key-lime pie was incredible and NOT TO BE MISSED. OK...yes, the bloody Mary’s were great with a kick..however, oh my gosh..I cannot wait to take the train back for some more Keylime pie! I’m now wondering if I can special order a whole one! Hmmm. Lol

Stopped by when walking along the Brooklyn Waterfront. Stepped into a Bluegrass Brunch music set. Perfect excursion!

Stopped in after a walk around DUMBO. Spacious interior. Had a nice lunch - house salad w/ the chicken sandwich and a couple of glasses of wine. Awesome. Our server was excellent. TIP - Small sign out front but worth looking for ...

Nice atmosphere, friendly and well informed staff, great drinks selection, good well cooked correctly portioned food. Great value for the price point (mid level bistro pricing). As I was living locally at the time, I have also been in for just drinks at the bar. Decent cocktail selection too. It's definitely a place I would return to.

My hubby and I with three teenagers exploring DUMBO. We live nearby and visited the neighborhood for the art festival. Loved the location. Upon entering, the space was gorgeous, brick walls and cozy lighting and eclectic tables and chairs. Bottles of water on the table to self serve. We saw that we picked the right place for us. The lunch menu they handed to us had only sandwich platter specials on it but that was ok. We ordered a hamburger, and one each of a steak, grilled chicken, portobello and tomato sandwich. There were different combinations of toppings on each. The fries that came on the platter were "superfine" and delicious! They were a shade thicker than potato sticks. Seriously, DELISH. Also, each of us agreed our meals were really tasty with good blend of flavors. Sounds like a perfect time...but...the service really stunk! Everyone was nice but there was no order. It was so irritating that we waited so so long to order and then never saw the waiter for over 30 minutes (no exaggeration). That's when we asked about our food and he checked and shortly after brought it out...most of it. The last meal came out when the rest of us had finished. Our experience was worthy of only three stars but other diners had good and lovely experiences so, while we envied them, we realize this place may be worth another try.

We were hungry, it was raining and we were a little lost. Gave up and stopped at Superfine. Got lucky to be seated right away. Ecletic place, trying hard to be artsy, food was delicous. Speghettini was just the right mix of flavor with fresh veggies. Mahi, mahi was perfect, pork chop was huge and cooked to perfection.pizza was ok, but nothing outstanding. Would have been nice for meals to come with salads, bread & oil just ok. Service was good. We all said we'd go back. Ambience = loud, old building a little hard to get around, woman's bathroom had just a curtain no door (although stalls had doors). Worth a try.

This past Sunday my cousin hosted a brunch for about 20 following her daughter's wedding the previous evening. She was unfamiliar with Superfine and based choosing it on a phone call. What a fabulous choice! Our group was seated in the elevated "pool table" area, which was perfect, the service was upbeat, welcoming and speedy, the food (and Bloody Mary's!) delicious, the atmosphere modern, friendly and happy, and great music by a blues band. We walked to the Brooklyn Bridge Park and over the bridge (to try to work off some of the delish breakfast burrito!), and would definitely go back when returning to Brooklyn...It was perfect--Superfine is Supercool!!

You feel a bit like you're stepping into a neighborhood party when you enter this festive setting for a weekend brunch. The Mexican selections are quite hot, but can be modified by request. I especially enjoyed their take on a Bloody Mary, with it's combination of sweet and spicy flavors. Really good groups performing bluegrass, blues or folk rock, depending on the date.

Good food, and well priced compared to eating in Manhattan! Loved the live music on Sunday-brunch even though the band was not that great the time I visited. Nice interior and atmosphere, makes you feel comfortable.

We came here on a recommendation from a homeless guy outside York Street Subway - and I'm glad he was there! This place is supercool, we had brunch on a Sunday, when the restaurant has a blues band playing in the afternoon. They were just setting up when we were there, so we didn't get to hear them, sadly. The brunch menu isn't extensive, but I prefer that as it gives the feeling of everything being homemade. Most of our party had the breakfast burrito, which was huge and smothered with glorious cheese sauce and fresh salsa. I went for the french toast with a side of bacon. The bread was so thick and the egg mixture sweet with a lovely cinnamon flavour and lots of powdered sugar on top. That day, the toast was served with a homemade plum jam, which was a sharp contrast to the sweet toast. My only complaint here was that the coffee wasn't that great, but there's plenty to recommend this place. Our waiter was really friendly and helpful and even let us have a free taste of their vegan banana bread, which I can vouch for as tasting not at all vegan! This place is very cool, if I'm in brooklyn again, I'll be sure to check it out in the evening. Close to the Brooklyn Bridge Park to walk off your brunch and get some cool pics of the city after too.

Talin lovely friendly lady ,super welcoming & chatty . I had crab cakes which were lovely ,my friend had a steak sandwich .Was nice to spend time away from the lights of the big city and sample something like local life .We would definitely go back !

Good, fresh food and friendly service at this restaurant after a trip to nearby St Ann's Warehouse Theatre. Funky interior, good vibe in a great part of the city.

I came here last month for a friendly gathering. My boyfriend and I were hoping there would be some vegan options available. The owner greeted and sat us. When we told her we were vegan, she proceeded to tell us EVERYTHING on the menu that was vegan or could be made vegan. She brought us the freshest salad I've had in a long time at a restaurant (I grow my own greens, so I'm picky!). She made sure the soup was made vegan and even brought us string fries that she proudly fries in a separate fryer from any meat. She recommended the hummus platter and it certainly did not disappoint. The owner spent so much time with us even though the restaurant was slammed (it was a Friday night after all) that we felt right at home rather than being "those annoying vegans." She even invited us to their Sunday brunch (she is very proud of her vegan scramble, which may not be advertised yet) the following week as they were going to be participating in a local Bluesgrass festival. We are very appreciative of the attention to detail here for anyone with food specifications and looking forward to returning for brunch!

3rd time going here in 3 years. Service is good and food is nicely done. Had a side of bacon that was thin and fatty. Thought I remembered better before. My French toast was a little undercooked - again usually very good. Certainly still a good choice to eat. (Went for Sunday brunch)

Easy going, fun brunch spot. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Live blue grass band were a lot of fun. We had the huevos ranchero and strawberry french toast and a few cocktails. Great for a laid back, enjoyable brunch.

The deal with Superfine is that the chef uses whatever ingredients are fresh that day for the specials, which are most often amazing. Meanwhile the regular menu is also excellent. Dinner prices are on the expensive side if you don’t include alcoholic beverages. Since I don’t imbibe, I can afford to dine at Superfine on the occasion. However, I’m not sure how those who have several drinks or bottles of wine can.

Great organic and local food!

We happened upon this place and we're hungry. We thought it's Mediterranean but the food looks more like a Mexican flavor. It is spicy if you're into that, but if you tell them not to put the hot sauce on the enchiladas, they will be delicious. Most people were there for the live music: country bluegrass and it was good, although we think it was too loud which was taking away from the pleasure of listening to it ( kind of like with the spice overpowering the enchiladas). This being brunch some of us had eggs and those were also delicious. The atmosphere is really nice.

Went there for a drink with my Mrs and ended up staying all evening. Amazing chilled atmosphere, ideal if you want to have a chat and sip great cocktails whilst listening to lounge music in the background or (depending on the night of the weekend) Live performances. When back in New York we will visit again.

Good for drinks w friends but average food. Nice atmosphere, good space. Great for groups. Dumbo area.

If you’re in the area, you should visit this nice place. Delicious food, great staff and a lovely atmosphere

Bar food with soul. More the ambience and service than the food. Brick interior big space in DUMBO. Eclectic crowd. Well drinks. Flat pizza is just okay. Walking distance to St. Ann's Wearhouse.

Looking for a place to have a drink in Brooklyn late in the evening, I found this place by accident and glad that I did. The atmosphere and music was upbeat and the drinks were good. Located in a historic building, you can see the original exposed brick. Great place for late night drinks.

Had a wonderful Sunday brunch. Great service, love the coffee (from a roaster in Twisp, WA) and the live music.

Been coming here for drinks for over two years now. A really good friend met me at this bar and I have yet to get over it! I always come here for a good time, great drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere and live music. It is a little loud, but its lots of fun. Affordable drinks for those on a budget and a vintage, hipster feel to the bar, it takes you back to old Brooklyn!

If they still do the bluegrass brunch on Sundays it's a must see, hear, feel, taste. Excellent. The decorations / ambiance is unbeateable.

Superfine is an old converted warehouse on Front Street. A good menu - we had great burgers, frittatas, and grilled chicken sandwich. The service was very good, the music was fun (from the 70's), and the food was fresh and delicious. We would definitely recommend it.

They laughed when I ordered the pork chop for brunch, but then they all wanted multiple bites of the exquisite deliciousness. Add a Bloody Mary and you've got a great start to a Sunday. We had a delightful experience at Superfine!

Let me caveat this review by saying maybe we just came here on a bad day (the restaurant and me), but my whole experience was not a good one. On arrival there was a live band playing. It was too loud, we were sat too close and I did not like the music. Bad start.... The menu claimed to be "seasonal mediterranean". It was neither!! It was mostly Mexican food. And it was very bland. Overall not good. On the plus side, the waiter was friendly and we got to experience some original Brooklyn hipsters (not the new millennial ones) up close and personal...

So glad we stumbled upon Superfine! Awesome service and amazing food. Great vibe. We had the burger and fish taco - full of flavor. Will definitely be back.

Great time with friends here. Live jazz music with a fun band. Family friendly, kids could sit at bar area and could play pool with parents yet cool space and trendy for couples. Food was delicious. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Brooklyn.

We just walked into this converted warehouse space that's now a diner & bar on a Sunday afternoon. Band was playing folk/country/rock - and they were pretty good. Tables are old 50s diner style, there's a pool table up front, and a nice retro vibe without being too artsy/over-designed about it. The brunch was nothing fancy, but everything tasted good and service was friendly. Best of all, it was not overpriced!

We have never spent a lot of time in the DUMBO area, but this restaurant came up as one of six to try in the area, so we stopped in for a late lunch. The sandwiches were yummy (grilled chicken and grilled veggie) and the "superfine" string fries were obviously handmade and yummy. The rose by the glass is nice- not one we've seen a lot! The service was the only real "downfall" if you can call it that? It felt very "meh?" We would have ordered more food or drink if we had more attention from the server, who came to take our order, drop our food and when we asked her to come by so we could order another glass of wine.

Beautiful atmosphere, great service. Nice crowd. Chic place with reasonable prices. New York at its best.

Had lunch there yesterday. The chicken sandwich is good but the real killer here is the cocktail!!! Foxy Tanya officially becomes my top cocktail choice with that cucumber/mint combination.

This is very nice restaurant in dumbo with a menu limited that print every day due to fresh ingredients that provide. The atmosphere is very good and is much better that any similar style restaurant in manhattan.I love this neighborhood. The only negative is that don't have a greek salad.

My wife and I walked past the building on the way to take some pictures of the Manhattan skyline at sunset and thought it looked like a nice place to eat on the way back. Located under the Manhattan bridge in what looks like an old warehouse / commercial building the inside is quite cool looking with exposed brick walls and different styles of table and chairs. There is a bar area if you just fancy drinks. My wife and I had chicken with mashed potatoes and ratatouille which was very tasty and filling. The waiter was very friendly and the service was quick. He explained that all of the food is locally sourced and the menu can change daily. The price seemed reasonable for Dumbo. We paid $24 for each meal and $11 for a glass of wine. Would recommend if you are in the area.

While in New York for work had the opportunity to eat at Superfine and the food is very good! I was with a group of co-workers and we all ordered different items on the menu. No one had a complaint, everything was flavorful and tasted great! Definitely will come again next time I'm in New York!

I really enjoyed the experience of Superfine. It was my first time there and we are a large party with three long tables. They were able to handle this on a busy Friday night. One member of the staff that really stood out was Scott. He pays attention to detail and was very proactive being on top of everyone's needs without being asked. Will definitely try again if I make my way back to Brooklyn.

Great dinner spot, the grilled calamari appetizer was amazing! Definitely recommended. There is a bar scene on one side and the restaurant seating is in the back next to the open kitchen.

My family and I had dinner at Superfine in our last trip to New York. The food is high quality, well cooked and there are a lot of options (We are French, so very demanding costumers) The restaurant is spacious, chic and have a very artistic vibe. We’ll repeat for sure.

We were in town for a short family vacation and a NYC-living friend of ours suggested this place for dinner on a Friday night. The atmosphere was very 50s retro cool -- nothing pretentious or upscale. The bar area was more than half full with what appeared to be regulars. The service was fantastic. Our friends had the steak and the pork chop and raved about it. My son got the hamburger (which is on the bar menu -- so ask for it if you're keen on one) and loved it. My wife and I split the penne pasta and the pizzetta and both were great. As a table, we ordered wings (again, from the bar menu) and they were good as well. They had a dry, spicy rub as apposed to a sauce and they were cook very well, not greasy at all. We will definitely visit this place again next time in NYC.

My family and I came in for dinner, being locals from Vinegar Hill, we tried to get into Almar and Atrium, but by 6pm all were booked. So we ended up at Superfine, it's been a while since I have been there to eat, mostly a late night beverage after work. We got seated right away, though there were reservations made for that evening as we saw a table set for 15 people or so and others for 3' and 4's... Since a majority of the guests were seated all at once, the kitchen got a little backed up, but it did not affect us. Our server stopped and gave my wife another glass of wine on them, since he apologized for the delay. We shared a Pizzetta, then I had the Short Rib, my wife had the Scallops App and a house Salad. Our 19 month old shared what we had, along with her own little nibbles. I will be back for more late night beverages and may maybe stop by again for a meal, possibly their brunch. Their prices have increased, so it may have deterred some of the other locals in the area.

I went there both for lunch and for drinks in the evening. The place is one of the really cool places in Dumbo. Open all day and late at night with live music or deejays on week end. Great fun and nice folks.

My wife and i ate in here with our baby girl for lunch one day after we walked over the Brooklyn bridge, i have to say it was a great find. The food itself was extremely tasty and great portions but the service could not have been any better. The girl serving us was extremely nice and so helpful with us and took a great interest in our little girl. Highly recommend here and i will return on my next trip to NYC.

All I'm going to say is that this place just doesn't live up to all the hype. I've been there three times and have ordered three very different meals, and each time the food was either bland or too salty. The wait staff was decent but that's not enough to please me.

Fun family-friendly atmosphere without feeling like a boring "family" restaurant. Go on Sundays for live music over brunch.

Great seasonal menu. Always leave happy whenever I have a meal or drinks here. FREE POOL!

great weekend brunch

Went for Sunday afternoon brunch without a reservation and didn't have to wait for a table (yay!). They had run out of pancakes (and were very apologetic about it) so I ordered huevos rancheros and my fiance ordered the breakfast burrito. Both were decent, but could have been better...also semi-spicy they were both lacking flavor. Atmosphere and service were great though. There was a live bluegrass band playing which was fun, and the whole place is spacious and laid back. I might try it once more for dinner, but probably wouldn't return for brunch as the food just wasn't good enough. Fun place to hang out though, and attentive service was appreciated.

We enjoyed the food and friendly service at this restaurant before a trip to nearby St Ann's Warehouse Theatre. There had been a large party for a birthday celebration and we were kindly given a table away from the noisy group. However, we still got personal attention and excellent meals, though the dessert turned into a bit of a wait. Try the apple galette for dessert if you like dessert, but not cloying sweets.

Hip relaxed vibe. Under the bridge in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Great service and tasty food. Recommended after a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge.

The food here is lovely and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Great music playing to enjoy while eating.

We ordered a drink off of the specials menu. Specifically called out Widow Jane bourbon as the alcohol that would be used. We watched the bartender make the drink. She used Jim Beam. We could not believe that she would do this. The drink got to our table and we expected to be told that a different alcohol was used. We were not. So we called them out on this. The response was that they had run out of Widow Jane. Well if that were the case, they should have told us. Jim Beam is a 3rd of the price. What was frustrating was that the the drinks were not comped. They made a huge mistake - one that we viewed as fraud - and as a courtesy, we would have expected this courtesy. So be warned - when you order a drink here, watch the bartender make the drink. Do not trust this place.

We've been in that restaurant for the Sunday brunch some time. That time we organized a birthday dinner! The food is really good, the service was ok for a full Friday night. Kids are accepted but I'm not sure that is a good place for them... You can also enjoy the party with a DJ set taking place at the bar.

First of all, the space is awesome! It's big, there's pool, there's beer ... and word on the streets is that they even do a bluegrass brunch on the weekend! The food was tasty and the beer selection was awesome. And the best part, once the storm passed we were in the perfect location to hop back outside and continue our day of exploring DUMBO.

Really cute bar/restaurant and great location. Unfortunately, we didn't love the food or drinks. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day.

I ordered the hamburger and it was delicious! I also had some wine (the house red) and it was better than expected. The service was excellent. The waiter was very helpful and kind to the people I was with. He wasn't trying to be nice for the tip, which was refreshing. I also liked the ambiance. It wasn't elegant nor modern, but the perfect lighting and the "roughness" of the place made it unique. I'd love to go for drinks or dinner. I'm sure it'd be great!

Another cool & funky Brooklyn eatery. This one in Dumbo, Brooklyn (Down under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). This gentrified area still has plenty of overpriced rental loft space available but it has become a mecca for artists & the culinary community. It has a nice vibe & bohemian spirit about it. Cool bar, pool table, pleasant alternative music as opposed to the annoying kind & open kitchen. My husband & I went for Friday lunch & arrived at about 2:15pm. We were immediately told by the Head Server/Manager the other patrons that were seated all came at once & haven't gotten their food yet so it would be at least 45 minutes until we ate. Ooookaaaaay. We decided to stay. I have been in the business for over 20 years & the restaurant was NOT busy. The tables he referred to had about 12 Guests total & I really didn't think it would take that long. Our hipster Server took our drink order fast & placed the menu board in front of us. They offer about 10-12 items that changes daily. They boast that about 98% of their ingredients are from local farms & artisans, are organic, seasonal & sustainable. Coolio. We sat right in front of the kitchen so I could hear the 3 cooks talking about the orders. They didn't seem rushed at all. The Server was nice & took our order quickly. My husband got a Coney Island Lager because they didn't have any seasonal beers (Odd) & I got a Ginger Ale (in a big pint glass! YEAH!!!) He got the steak sandwich with mustard caper aioli & fries ($11) & I got the Superfine hamburger on brioche bun with fries ($12). We got our food in 30 min but other patrons did seem perturbed about their wait which must have been longer. Good quality but lacked flavor. People! You have to season meat with salt & pepper before searing it. A big pet peeve for me. Overall, Superfine was ok but cool.

Good place for brunch

Came the Friday before Xmas with my family to have lunch. Have been numerous times for dinner and drinks. There was a holiday party about to begin but got there early enough to enjoy our meal. The burger was delicious, portobello mushroom sandwich was good too. Our little one had a plain grilled cheese. Cheers

The nicest food we had during our 5 day stay in New York. Would reccomend the beef brisket enchiladas.

Here just as wonderfully recovered from our impressions in Dumbo. Drink with it and later a small bite which both tasted delicious. Friendly and good service in a nice part of Brooklyn within walking distance of the Brooklyne n Manhattan bridge.

And maybe it was just loud because it was a gorgeous evening and there was an arts festival in Dumbo that night. But the server was friendly and very helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious. It's a casual place, right under the Manhattan Bridge. I'll go back.

Popped in to grab a cup of coffee and you would have thought I had asked for the earth. It seems that as we were not eating brunch there, we became persona non grata and the waitress could not have been more unwelcoming if she tried. She threw our check at us when it was time to pay and walked off without even saying "Have a nice day!". Would not go back purely based on this reaction alone.

Went here looking for a late dinner. Mostly was a bar with some good music. I found the menu a little limited. I got a salad and fish tacos. Salad was good, but plain. Fish tacos were just average. Service was lackluster and even a tad unfriendly. Not a fan.

It was a Sunday night with everything pretty much closed and they were open. The service was great, they were all supernice (as superfine). Our dishes were very good. The atmosphere is awesome, they have a nice bar and a pool table. We really liked it. Prices were accordingly.

This place saved my son's 10th birthday--and possibly my marriage. For my son's 10th birthday I booked a Beat the Bomb: Slime experience for 11 kids. I told my husband he had one job: to book a restaurant for lunch after. He booked Love and Dough on OpenTable and confirmed it in the morning. When I showed up today to frost cupcakes and set up the table, the staff told me I had to call the manager. He informed me that surprise! It was a prix fixe, $50 per kid. I have no problem with a restaurant having a prix fixe for large parties--they should just tell you that when you book or confirm. I said no one told us that and it wasn't what we had planned for and the manager said "I know, you wanted something cheap. This is not a cheap place." I said "can I make a suggestion--you should limit your OpenTable reservations to smaller parties then" and the manager said "I don't need your suggestions" and, while I went looking for other restaurants, had the staff kick my 70 year old mother in law and 13 year old daughter out into the street holding cupcakes and presents. I stumbled into superfine to ask if they could take us. Not only did they whip up a table for 14 with no notice they printed out menus with my son's name and Happy Birthday on them at the top. They made special orders for the kids, all the food was delicious (especially the shoestring fries) and every staff member was so nice to us. This place is a gem (and that's not just the Winter Spritz talking). They reminded me there are good people (and delicious food) in the world. I will be forever grateful to them. If you're considering coming here, do.

Chose Superfine because it was close to st. ann's warehouse. The service was friendly and efficient, but the food was very overpriced and tasteless. However I loved the space and lighting and would come back and sit at the bar for one of their excellent cocktails!

Good food (hamburgers), nice service, reasonable prices. French fries fried a little bit to long. Great interior and atmosphere.

A former colleague of mine and I got a bite at Superfine for lunch. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a burger. Food came out quick and had beers to wash it all down. The fries are the best!!!! Thanks guys

I was here with a friend for Sunday brunch prior to seeing a film nearby. My steak enchilada was superb and my companion enjoyed her breakfast burrito quite a bit. And, we were poured by our very friendly server, endless cups of coffee on a relatively cold early December day. There was a live bluegrass band playing and I happen to like bluegrass quite a bit, so that was a real treat. Superfine is the real deal, it’s been around DuMBO for a very long time and real musician’s musician play the place, folks who were playing in DuMBO before it became too cool for school. Same thing with the restaurant and bar (with a full size pool table), they’ve been doing this a long time and the owners are very supportive of local talent and the local arts scene, which are booming in DuMBO.

The place and the atmosphere are nice. Food is good (we tried the meat and we cannot complain) aligned with the American standards, good selection of beers and few wines. By the way, it never happened to us that a waiter complained for tips. On a busy rainy Saturday night he had the time to run after us (outside the restaurant!!) after we paid our bill to tell us that "we were rude" just because the tip left "was not at least 20% of the bill", and he wanted to let us know that "the tips should have been $xxx". I really suggest to the manager of the restaurant to remeber this guy that: 1) Tips are a CUSTOMERS CHOICE, no matter if you are in NYC or everywhere else in the World; 2) Always thank customers, simply because paying their bill they contribute to employees wage; 3) If he had the time to run after us (outside the restaurant), again, on a busy Saturday night (in DUMBO, not a remoteTibetan village..) means that he was not focusing on his main duties, for what he is paid; 4) Ask himself why we did not tip the "average NYC amount", before complaining. 5) Relax and always be kind while working with people. I really hope this helps.

We stop there for dinner and the atmosphere was nice, in the Dumbo mood. Good selections of beers and food was ok. However, at the end of our dinner, we were outside and we saw a blond hair server to run after a customer arguing for tips...What!?! I see tips as a customer choice and not a mandatory obligation, in every corner of the world. If I were the manager, I'll investigate about this: service is important for a good reputation.

This unique restaurant rests right under the Manhattan Bridge. Every time the train passes, you'll hear it and feel it. But that's not all that makes this space unique. It has a pool table, retro/reclaimed tables and chains that throw you back to a 50's or 60's diner, plenty of art works throughout, and a high/low bar. I've been here four times and I still consider the food very good. Definitely not a place to miss when in the DUMBO area.

Home made lemonade, lovely. One of our party asked if the Nachos had cheese we were told no, no offer to put some kn. Shame, not the American hospitality we had been used to. Food was ok.

My daughter took me here for a belated Mother's Day dinner and I am thrilled that I went. The atmosphere is casual, laid back. There is a comfort that hits you as soon as you walk through the doors. Our server was Madison. So attentive and ice. The bar tender, though Mojitos were nt on the drink menu, managed to make probably the best mojito I've ever had. I ordered two. The food. THE. FOOD was simply amazing. delicious, clean. This is a farm-to-table restaurant and while eating this food you can tell. Not overly seasoned and no heavy sauce just the food the way it should taste.

I couldn't imagine a better Sunday than this: Brooklyn, sunshine and a perfect brunch at Superfine's. Cute guys on a small stage were playing live country music, the service was so nice that I almost wanted to hug them and the food was really tasty. If it's Sunday morning and you don't have plans, now you know what to do.

I will have to go back, mainly because of the food and local beer, but also because I would like to give the wait staff a second chance. I had the Spaghettini, pasta, oil and fresh basil. Mixed with wiled mushrooms and squash. It was full of flavor and just enough to allow for more sampling in the city. Their fish is top of the line as well. You will miss the sign when passing because it's small, but that kind of adds to the appeal. When walking in, the bar is straight to the left, and the kitchen is opened up and past the bar farther on the left. Its a little dark, but artsy/trendy but not pretentious. The host is quick to help, and the waitstaff does work well together. I loved the bartender, he knows his drinks - as he should. My only gripe was our waiter, he rarely visited our table and really had no idea what a beer was. I specifically went there for a beer only served at the restaurant, sadly they were out. Instead of just checking, then telling me they were out, he had to bring back someone else to explain how beer rotations work, etc. When I asked if there was a sampler, he had no idea what I meant. Then, when i specifically ordered a certain beer on the menu, he said that's what he was getting me, and came back with a whole different style beer (Kinda of like ordering a black coffee and getting a sweet iced tea instead). However, I have friends who enjoy the place, and aside from the one waiter, everything else was superb. I do recommend visiting, just order your beer from the bar directly. They were quick to compensate the mistake.

This is a nice little spot in DUMBO with a large-ish bar area and maybe 20 seats for dining. Menu is fairly limited as they use fresh and local ingredients. We will have to try it again when in Brooklyn and see what is new on the menu.

Cucumber soup wasn't flavor expected and looked kind of dark green. Salmon filet salad -- 2/3 was overdone and 1/3 of filet was raw (they did take it back and cook it more ). A "Mexican" dish w eggs was supposed to have eggs cooked over-easy and they were overdone... and it sat it my stomach all afternoon. To be fair, it seemed more like an evening bar, and is really a cute place w a nice vibe. When they saw we barely touched the $8 bowl of soup the waiter removed it from the bill. So really good service on that note.

poor service; food mediocre; ambiance mediocre

Happy hr well drinks are pretty bad tacos were ok. Service was good but if you sit outside the noise from the train every 5min makes you wanna kill yourself.
Comfortable friendly spot -- open late
We went post-theatre at St. Ann's Warehouse, on my wife's birthday. The food was delicious and reasonably-priced, and there were several vegetarian options. Seated in the back it was quiet enough for us and another couple to converse comfortably (very important to me). Staff were friendly and accommodating; they even put a candle in my wife's dessert gelato! We're Brooklynites (though not from this neighborhood), and we'll definitely come here again.
