I loved Superica in ATL and have been waiting patiently for the arrival in Htown. Had a late lunch and we were seated at a bar table so the bartender was our waiter. We were very well taken care of and got plenty of attention even though the bar was busy. Brandon was very attentive and funny. He knows how to make sure you are having a good time and he didn't mind that we had a leisurely lunch. We ordered queso, fajitas and chicken enchiladas. All of the food was really good and I really liked the green sauce they serve with the chips. Our food was prepared very quickly and was very hot. I am a Superica fan and can see this being my first choice for Mexican food. Pricing is very comparable to other restaurants. Parking in the lot is valet only although there is parking on the side street in front of the restaurant or in the alley behind it. Casual vibe, fun and lively but you can actually hear the people you are with which is refreshing.

My wife & I met some friends here for dinner on a Friday night and enjoyed what we ate and drink. The food menu is full of so many Tex-Mex/Latin American staples we have grown accustomed to here in Houston, and the margarita/cocktail selection is quality. I look forward to the prospect of returning after the trendiness of the restaurant has worn out as it was incredibly slammed when we dined there. The staff was very accommodating during this overcrowded state, offering apologies, complimentary dessert, and managerial table-touches to smooth over the backed up kitchen. While the restaurant is nothing special, they do what they do well.

This place was thriving and hopping full of people of all generations and walks of life. It is the perfect atmosphere for anybody! Their green salsa đ€€ with your chips is so refreshing. I had the Ensalada de la Casa with added wood fire grilled chicken. Oh man. Make sure to get the dressing that comes with it. Amazing. It had pickled onions that were perfect with the avocados and corn mixed in with it all. I would recommend. Parking is a pain when leaving but thankfully they have complimentary valet so that is a plus.

This is a nice restaurant. The service provided by Laila was good, and everyone's food was extremely nice. The only issue we had, which I can only presume, was the kichen, was the wait. We didn't have any starters and went straight to the main course, but it took a very long time to come, and when it did, one meal was missing. But as previously mentioned, everyone enjoyed their meal.

The menu is limited but still has a great variety of freshly prepared dishes. We found the food quality to be fresh and excellent. The chicken is braised and delicious. My nine year old loves this place and wants to go back everyday. Good wine choices and great staff.

The Margarita's were good. My meal was very salty and they never brought out the rice. The Charro beans had no flavor. There's too many good Mexican restaurants to ever go back!!!!

We love this place. We took family on Spring Break and they wanted to go back two days later. The food and atmosphere is great for kids too. The chicken Verde Enchiladas are my favorite and the guacamole!

Very good food, courteous servers. The short rib was very worthwhile - and probably enough for 2-3 people by itself. Queso was well prepared and tasty. Pleasant restaurant.

We have been eating Houston Mexican food for 30 + years. Name it, weâve been there. Tonight was our first time here and we loved it. Brought the family, including three children, 7, 5, and 1. Got there at 5 PM to get a table. Very family friendly. Noisy place, loud music and many families made it easy to handle. Iâm sure later in the evening the families have left, for those of you who donât want to sit by noisy children. Food was very good, pretty traditional Tex Mex. As our first visit, we couldnât try everything but we were happy with the margaritas and with our food. Prices are very reasonable. Itâs not like El Tiempo which charges premium prices then brings you a huge plate of food. Itâs not like Armandos in that there is actually tequila in the margaritas. It doesnât have the âchainâ feel of a Pappasitos or Chuyâs. Itâs not like Picoâs as one can find multiple Tex-Mex options on the menu. As far as a food comp is concerned, itâs most like El Real, but with a much more vibrant and intimate feel. Itâs noisy, so donât go if you want a quiet dinner. The place was full of energy. And our service was excellent despite the fact that the restaurant filled up pretty quickly. Fun place. I hesitate to write this because itâs already going to be difficult to get a table. When we left at 6:20 PM on a Thursday night, the wait was an hour long.

Went on Saturday night with my wife for our first visit. 25 minute wait was cut down to about 15 minutes and we were serviced quickly at the bar while waiting that short time. The chips and salsas were amazing and the margaritas fresh and tasty. Something about other margaritas in nearby places has been off, but Superica makes them spot on! My wife enjoyed the Chicken Verde enchiladas and I had the El Lopez. All of the food was delicious. We ordered some flour tortillas just to try them and we were lucky we did so. Only suggestion, and this is dust lint picky, but the El Lopez states it comes with guacamole salad, and did, but that part was about a teaspoonful amount. A nice dollop of that would've been the cherry on top. Service was attentive at all times. Thanks SUPERICA for an awesome evening, we will be back soon!

I thought this place would be packed on Sunday, but we were able to get in pretty easily. Nice staff, good food.

Our first try at this new restaurant in the Houston Heights was overwhelming, to say the least. Since the restaurant recently open, it was a bit chaotic, very busy and loud. That being said, the wait staff was very good. There seem to be a disconnect between the efficiency of the bar bringing drinks, and the kitchen which seem to be operating a little bit more lackadaisical speed. After a lengthy wait, the food was as promised: woodfired smoke. We tried the fajita chicken and the Carnitas. Both very nice. The salad needed more acid. Lime juice, something. And the Carnitas were very good (pork belly) but maybe still a bit fatty than would be expected with other Carnitas. The guava glaze left it may be a bit too sweet for my taste. But overall very, very good! The most impressive part of the restaurant or the two salsas served: green and smoky red. Both were excellent! Looking forward to our next visit!

Attended the âsoft openingâ and was treated to unique flavors of red salsa - dark and hot - green salsa, bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp, fish tacos and blackened fish. Food was excellent, flavors unique although truly Mexican. Not your average Tex-Mex. Party atmosphere catering more to adults than children. Music was loud. Asked if the volume was due to the âsoft openingâ party; was told no, this was to be the atmosphere.

It was a long line waiting for a table on the Sat night I went with friends. I enjoyed the food and the service was excellent.

Enjoyable experience but marred by many mistakes. Nachos missing jalapeño peppers. Margarita missing salt on the rim. Drink spilled as it was being served. On the plus side the cocktail list has some nice options and the steak fajita nachos were wonderful even without the jalapeños.

We landed up at Superica because another place in the area had a long wait time, and were we glad! While I enjoyed some aguas frescas with the chips, my husband opted for coffee. The salsa and guac were fresh. Our server Jacobe was great and really friendly. For food, I ordered the Huevos Mexicanos while the husband ordered the chorizo, potato and eggs combination. We enjoyed the food all wrapped up in the tortillas. The atmosphere was laid back, and while we might have fretted at the speed of serving us our food on other days, that day it was just perfect.

The food, the service, the vibe all great. Margaritas are good, chips and salsa are good. Came here on the weekend with my daughter and lucked into a table with minimal wait. The service here is excellent and everyone is friendly. Love the salsa. The golden shrimp tacos were great. Just an overall enjoyable experience. Beware gets crowded and valet parking only.

Hated every part of out experience, from the rude valets, the SLOW service, the incorrect food order, to the terrible cheese enchiladas. But don't worry, it costs plenty!

Parking lot packed -- prepare to valet. Inside very busy with funned trendy atmosphere. You crowd. Lots of basic hard surfaces in basic interior so a high degree of noise when packed. Service excellent. Good selection of mexican beers, not much craft beer. Starting chips and sauces (green and red) exceptionally good. Guac very tasty although not particularly sophisticated. Standard Tex-Mex items on menu. All done very well but not a lot of culinary flair on offer. My Tacos de Barbucoa were very good and filling. I liked the abundant avocado included. Mole dishes also very good. Desserts limited but very good. Prices very reasonable.

We went early (11;30 for an office birthday) and you must to get a parking space. From the moment we walked in the service, style, attention to detail and hospitality was right on spot. Our server was training another server and they were both perfect. They knew so much about the foods, options, gave good suggestions and our table was attended to like we were the most important table in the place (and it was a full place!). They brought us not one but two fabulous desserts to try. Our law office is in the neighborhood and I think we have found a new regular spot. Good job on this place :)

Weâve had breakfast at superica 4 times and their delicious Mexican breakfast like the Migas and Juevos rancheros is only elevated by the friendliest wait staff in Houston. The breakfast begins with chips and two types of salsas that are served in jars and are poured into small bowels. On beautiful Sunday mornings we sit outside and enjoy a relaxing breakfast with a cup of super bold coffee. The wait staff from the hostess to the waiters or greets conversationalist and all of them remember our names. Jacoby in particular really cares about us.

Horrable food no flavor long wait time for food Its just a bar that services food but if they would up there game on flavor then they would have more customers See attached pictures

Really great food. Enormous portions. Had Saturday brunch with friends. The vegetable fajitas are amazing and my friend raved about the steak and eggs.

Pollo Con Mole enchiladas were excellent. The mole had a stronger chocolate flavor than other mole sauces I have had. Barbacoa Taco and Chile Relleno also got rave reviews. Choice of salsas with chips were good as was the service. Our party of 4 arrived before 6:00 on a Friday, needed the free valet parking. Enjoyed a drink at the bar during our 20 minute wait. By the time we left, it was totally jammed everywhere, but a good humored crowd. Nice interior. We will definitely return.

I can not say enough good things about this place! Plugged in âBest chiliâ and the GPS brought us here. Unfortunately chili isnât even on the menu here. But the staff throws together leftovers on Saturdays for their meal before work and today just happened to be Chili! So Iâm happy to say we did get our chili and it was delicious! The staff was absolutely amazing! If their "leftover chili" tasted this good, I can't wait to come back and sample some of their actual dishes.

My wife and i travel throughout Houston, trying different restaurants - Especially Mexican and/or Tex Mex food. I came across this location and unaware of anything, reviews, chef, and so forth. The exterior had such a nice attention to detail, it made you want to see what's inside. I appreciate a restaurant that thinks about its clients in advance. The Heights is great but parking can be a nightmare. The had complimentary valet parking on saturday evening, not sure about other days. I'm a stickler for service, cleanliness and food quality. Not a big fan of having unexperienced hostess seat you without any consideration, but that is minor on my list, i can deal with that. Our waitress was fantastic, very detailed oriented, really took care of us. The chips and salsa were FANTASTIC. Chile Con Queso was FANTASTIC O.G. Margarita was FANTASTIC I had the tacos Al Carbon (Beef and Chicken) -The best grilled chicken breast i have had in a loooong time. -Beef was FANTASTIC as well. Pack your patience - The place is loud, my only comment to this is, it should be the place is nice and invites a happy environment that creates not only dinner but a memory. This place is a treat to those who love Mexican - Tex/Mex.Food is very fresh and obviously of the highest standards. Price was fair, definitely worth it. HIGHLY Recommend this place.

We tried Superica for the first time last week during lunch. The food and service, as the name implies, was âsuperâ. I always try the basics at any new Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant: enchiladas. I figure that if they canât get the simple stuff right, whatâs left on the menu isnât worth a second visit. Superica nailed the enchiladas; the rice and beans were also âsuperâ. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The chips were tasty, not greasy, and we enjoyed their version of salsa. Thx Superica, weâll see you soon!

The food here is delicious! There are great options on the menu whether it be dinner or brunch. The chips and salsas are fresh and tasty.

I found this place by accident. The service and food were very good. Some of the best mexican I have eaten.

We visited just before 4pm on a Saturday, so the crowd was minimal with no wait to be seated. Since it was our first time here, our server DJ, gave us a great rundown on what the Superica/La Lucha concept was about. The light and crispy chips were served with 2 different but equally tasty salsas. Our group had the queso, pozole, chicken enchiladas verdes, picadillo enchiladas and beef fajitas. Every dish was excellent! The pozole had succulent shrimp and tender chunks of pork that melt in your mouth. The fajitas were cooked to a perfect medium rare and had a great flavor. The OG margarita was light and fresh. Service was great, the right amount of checking up on our table was appreciated. The tres leches cake was amazing. We will definitely be back.

Love the food. Very fresh and tasty! Plus the staff is first rate. Very friendly and attentive. The whole entire evening was wonderful. Houston is a giant city with hundreds of Mexican restaurants. One of my favorite types of cuisine I can honestly state that Superica is in the top two Mexican restaurants in the city. I highly recommend the establishment â you definitely wonât regret it!

PROs: In a city with a Tex-Mex restaurant on every street, Superica is standing out by offering upscale dishes beyond the typical Tex-Mex restaurant format. On a recent visit, I had barbacoa tacos and my guest had the chicken enchiladas. The usual chips came with different flavored sauces that were much more interesting than the standard red sauce at most restaurants.Margarita was potent and high quality. The waitstaff service was unusually attentive. CONs: We have experienced long waits and difficulty in parking on weekends and holidays. The pricing is expensive for Tex-Mex restaurants but still less expensive than other types of restaurants. I'm still waiting for a Tex-Mex restaurant with a decent wine list. SUMMARY: This is a higher quality Tex-Mex restaurant with more expensive pricing than most. If you're in the area, this qualifies as a good alternative to the the typical Tex-Mex restaurant.

My husband and I visit here frequently and we have never been disappointed. The only down side is being forced to valet park (we donât use it) and if you choose not to, itâs a pain in the neck to park around the area. Lots of space available but most of it is not paved and heaven forbid it rains, what a mess. Once inside though itâs well worth the pain of trying to park. Itâs a very festive, loud atmosphere so not really ideal for intimate dining. But the service and food are just wonderful! The servers are so personal and knowledgeable. They can describe the menu items perfectly. The drinks are very well done too! Overall this is one of our favorite places and a great place to go to with friends in Houston. Check them out!

I know, what restaurant isn't on Friday night? We got there at about 8:45pm and the place was packed. Valet parking only at that time. We put our name on the list and walked around the block for a while. Fat Cat Creamery is nearby for dessert. I think we ate about 9:15-9:30pm. We ate here because my husband's mom insists on healthy grass fed beef. Tomatillo salsa is awesome! Comes in a small glass pitcher on the table along with tomato salsa. Eat as much or as little as you like. Sit outside if you can. Can't hear yourself scream inside. Two entries fed 3 of us (Lopez & Catfish dishes). Food was delicious. Waitress was amazing!

I'm from Dallas/Ft Worth, so I've had my share of good & bad Mexican! Starters-the chips-thin & salty, salsas presented on a tiered tray with 2 additional smooth salsas in squeeze bottles (for tacos or whatever) one salsa was a warm smoky red, @ the green was so good, I could drink it! Margarita as tall, flavor spot on! Garlic butter was there to pour on our fajitas, & the fresh tortillas were to die for! A classy place with a bar nice enough that I'd hang out at. Trip Advisor pics don't do justice. Great date night spot

Very good service. I ordered an OG margarita 4/5 liked the old school strength. For food we had queso fundido with chorizo 4/5, barbacoa tacos 5/5, and carnitas tacos order one street 4/5 and one Al carbon 5/5. Nice atmosphere.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Superica - full stop. they do a wonderful salsa(s)...roasted chili has a wonderful roasted flavour, not hot, but full of taste. the verde is an understated tomatillo salsa with the right amount of coriander which makes for a very different and refreshing taste sensation. the little bottle of (taco) sauce provides a hotter chipotle taste. all three wonderfully excellent. the margarita and SUPERITA are quite good - maybe not stelar but decidedly good. then for the meal....all excellent. the pork belly in the CARNITAS DE PUERCO offers a complex taste of the grilling, the chilis and the tomatillo. you are able to sense all three on your tongue. the FLAUTAS are by any definition fantastic. the same for the TACOS AL CARBON - trully really great. all in all the flavours are cut above the rest. it is obvious that their tex-mex cooking has been taken to a new level. great staff, taking friendliness to a new high. the valet parking staff are great guys. service is fast and efficient. my only complaint. the room is too loud. lights dimmed just a bit too much. this is not a nightclub !!! it's always a shame when the lighting is overly dimmed. the interior design of the space is more than worthy of being showcased.

The chips and dip are excellent. Queso is delicious but the portion size is very small. The puffy tacos are very strange. $14 USD for the puffy tacos and its not even a taco. Its like a hollow ball tortilla with a lil bit of topping. I was unsure of how to eat it. I asked the waitress what the proper way to eat it. She said most people eat it with a knife. I dare anyone to try and eat this rendition of a taco with their bare hands. But this place is very nice and the food tastes great. Tres Leches was great! Lil skimpy on the portions tho.

We have been here a couple times and have really enjoyed the food here. It has a great atmosphere and always seems busy. Definitely high up on our list for family dinners.
Tex-Mex
We went with our family on a Sunday night, the restaurant was full, used the valet (complimentary) but you need to tip. Sauces were good with the chips,we ordered margaritas, they were good. I tried the fajitas al carbon, carne guisada , fajitas steak . The charro beans lack taste and the rice was not fluffy and not tasty. The carne guisada was salty. Overall the food was ok. It was raining that day so we did not have a chance to try the patio. The restaurant's light is dim, so it was hard to see the menu.
