A loooong wait for pretty good food and expensive drinks.

By evantorch |

The wait for a table is long, always long and daunting. Once seated, you're so hungry that drinks hit your gut and act fast. The waitress we had was personable if a bit overextended. She warmed up a tad and were was quite adequate. The food was both interesting and novel, if expensive. There were quite interesting fajitas and other main dishes, but nothing was sensational.

Really good!

By Conniemama |

They kept the chips and salsa coming. Two different types of salsa, the green was amazing, my husband loved the red. The brisket tacos, chicken verde enchiladas, chicken fajitas, and kids meals were all good. We have to give a shout out for their popsicles. They bring them out at the end of the meal for the kids. We all sampled these delicious, made in the restaurant, lemonade treats. Great fun and we totally enjoyed ourselves.

Very good Mexican

By deppecall |

The food was quite good and the service excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The chips are outstanding.

Trendy Atmosphere paired with elevated TexMex Cuisine!

By Derek Nagel |

So this place is hot. Very hot. Why? Awesome vibe paired with awesome food. EVERYTHING on the menu is gourmet prepared and bursting with flavor. Being a "steak snob", I was more than thrilled with the delicious marinated skirt steak served with 2 amazing enchiladas and a fried egg. Can't wait to return!

AMAZING 10/10

We love this place!!! The food is so delicious. This has to be the best restaurant in Atlanta. Very nice staff, good service, friendly.

First time to Superica - It is now on our regular rotation!

By Megan K |

Dinnertime Friday night - crazy busy - we were told we would wait 30-45 minutes so it was a pleasant surprise when we were seated in 20. We sat out on the patio which was really pleasant - a few gnats here and there but hey, it's part of the Georgia charm. Now as a native Texan with California roots, we are usually disappointed by Mexican joints in states that don't actually border Mexico (I'm looking at you Bartaco & Tony Tequila's). I have learned NOT to order tacos, burritos, quesadillas and the usual Mexican fare I get in San Antonio or San Diego. And since it was the special occasion of my husband's birthday we wanted something to speak to the celebration - so he ordered the Short Rib entree and I got the pollo, carnitas, carne asada fajitas. WOW! A lot of food - a lot of meat. Looked amazing, smelled amazing and tasted even better!!! We were unable to finish it all so we took it home (how's that for value?). We were enjoying carnitas with our eggs this morning! Drinks were good. I didn't find the chips or meat to be greasy at all like the previous reviewer - everything was on point for us. We paid the same amount on our check as we did on our visit to Bartaco down the street and we got SO MUCH MORE FOOD! The aspect I would really like to address however is the service. The main reason I am giving 5 stars is because our server Sasha singlehandedly won that 5th star. She was attentive and knowledgeable. She has a passion for both food as well as her customer's happiness. I could see artistry in how she handled herself, how she presented the food, how she described the dishes and how she balanced her workload. She was VERY busy but never did she seem stressed or that our needs were not her first priority. My husband's birthday is an important day in my life. Without him I would not have my best friend who brings me joy and fulfillment on a daily basis. What does Sasha do? She has the entire staff (even the Chef!) sign a birthday card for him! As a former restaurant owner, I know how a busy and crazy night can make you think you don't have time to breathe and the fact that Sasha (and the entire staff) took time out to sign a birthday card for a guest they didn't even know - well that won me over. We eat out ALOT. We travel ALOT. We have grown up in the generation where outstanding customer service became a thing of the past. This young woman and people like her can bring it back. I am now a Superica regular.

Like the best!

By luvtheworld |

I say "like the best" because: Julia Child said the best Tex-Mex in the United States was Super-Rica. Now, she meant Super-Rica in Santa Barbara, California, where she lived. On her word I had lunch there. It was like she said. Everything was different and delicious but still Mexican. Julia died in 2004, so we're talking ancient history. But when I saw something called Superica in Buckhead, the word "challenge" came to mind. It's now open for dining, but I picked up curbside, so this is just about the food. I make a killer guac but must say this is the best restaurant guac I've ever had. The emphasis is on lime juice, which I love. In fact, I had a ripe avocado in the fridge that I stretched this delicious guac with for guilty pleasure! We had the chile con queso Compuesto, with the beef in it. Delicious, though it's more a meal in itself. We had steak tacos al carbon and pork belly tacos al carbon. For me the test is the quality and prep of the meats. The carbon steak was so tender and juicy that I almost wound up soaking my lap if not for the plate. The flavor was so steaky that I wonder if it was injected with umami. Likewise the carnitas. intense pork flavor. The big sides of Charro beans threatened to take over the meal, so addictive were they! Won't even try to analyse the seasoning beyond saying it creatively keeps everything "Mex". I'd say the "Tex" part is the quality of the meats. Another thing to love is that with the tacos you get the option of hard taco shells. Can't speak to the rest of the chain, but like Julia's Super-Rica in Santa Barbara, Buckhead's Superica for me is a huge step beyond ordinary Mexican. It is the best Tex-Mex I've ever had.

Great food

My wife and I were visiting our daughter. Went here for Friday night dinner. We ate on the patio which was really nice. I had the brisket tacos which were excellent. My wife had the shrimp tacos which she enjoyed. We recommend.

Art Mexican Food

By trentwat69 |

Love Mexican food, but tired of the "Speedy Gonzalez with Beans"...go here. It is a little pricier than a typical Mexican food restaurant, but they use quality ingredients and the flavors are great. The salas and guacamole were tasty; so too were the brisket tacos and the chile releno. One other guest had a mole dish that he really, really liked. The civiche appetizer was the only real food fail. The staff was very friendly, albeit a bit slow during the food rush on a Sunday. We will return!

Outstanding food and setvice

By ladydialabama |

From the salsa, queso dip and chips to the amazing entrees everything was just so amazing. Chicken nachos were the best. Michelle was our server, she said she is usually the bartender, was the best. So sweet and a great smile. She was just super friendly, helpful and really took care of our needs. Just an excellent experience!

Very nice atmosphere, average food

By Jwhgranite |

Came here with high expectations. The chips were nice, but everything else was pretty average. What was worse than average was the sweaty guy who brought us our food. Very unappetizing!

Trendy Mexican

By madi510 |

Ate here on a recent visit to Buckhead. Super is is a really cool Mexican restaurant with a fun ambiance and some amazing interior decor! The food is delicious, although I don't know if I would say it's classic Tex-mex. The avocado salsa verde is delicious! The taco plates are surprisingly filling! I tired the chicken and carnitas tacos. I only wish you could mix and match the tacos in one plate.

Great Service, great atmosphere

By Pablo T |

Worth the hour waiting at the bar drinking margaritas. Delicious tacos (carne asada), great service (Sarah), place is really cool. Will return for sure.

BEST BURGER EVER from a Restaurant

By biscardicreative |

First time visitors and we came in for dinner after reading the reviews. AMAZING and the best Margarita I've had in a restaurant. I just had the straight Margarita and it was awesome. Superica has THE BEST BURGER I have ever been served at a restaurant. Weird, right? Tex-Mex and I went with the burger? Our server said it is the most underrated thing on the menu so of course I had to try the Hamburguesa Superica. Simply amazing. Obviously grilled over open flame because it had some of that smoky, wood burned taste to it. And I followed the server's advice and added the added the Frito pie to the top of the burger. Messy but so incredible. As we live in the area, we will be back. Often.

Really enjoyed this place

By PittReisender |

Ate here solo while on business in Atlanta. Called Superica but sign on front says Comida Super Rica (really good food). Waitress (Demajali) was excellent and very helpful and friendly. Had the shrimp tacos and a good (Wise Blood) IPA. Would definitely go back.

Bob Armstrong dip and lemonade popsicle

By Conniemama |

We started with the appetizer and ended with the popsicle. Everything was delicious in between! The service was amazing (had a four year old celebrating his birthday and they were so great to surprise him with candles around his quesadillas!). They kept our drinks full, actually called us by name and fajitas, chili rellenos, salad and street tacos were all so good!

Good Food, Good Service

By LettyS |

Often times you go someplace new and you have good food but bad service. This place got both right! Our server, Joseph was great with our group of 6. He described the meals and drinks in detail which were all amazing! The salsas tasted so fresh! A couple of the dishes ordered at our table were the carnitas and fajitas. Overall great experience

Good food and service

By Maria G |

We went to superRica on Saturday. The food was delicious. The fajitas looked very expensive on the menu but we had a huge portion. The meat was a very good quality. The service was fantastic. The salsas divine!

Great food and service

By Charley A |

Nate was our server and he along with food were excellent. Visiting from savannah and wish you had store there. Visiting our kids here and will be back😀😀😀

What happened?

By jimlrvp |

The skinny margaritas and chips and salsa were very good and that's where the good news ended. Entrees were just ok and the high priced ribeye steak was very late. So late that the rest of us were finished. The manager came over with a half hearted apology and offered a beer and then forgot to bring the beer. Then the server who repeatedly apologized for the late steak offered an extra margarita from another table as consolation, we were done with drinks just looking for the missing steak. The check was presented without any discount whatsoever. We weren't looking for discounts or free drinks but when the most expensive dinner at the table and on the menu is that late don't offer a free beer and then forget it or an extra margarita as a make up call. What happened to this place? Service was horrible food was ok. Manager did not care.

Love this Place

By Steven S |

The food here is great. The chips and salsas are delicious and better than almost anywhere else to start. The chile relleno burrito is also amazing and then there are the tacos. The meats are full of flavor. One time the pork was overcooked but it has been a rare event. As I said, I love this place. Fun atmosphere.

Ford Fry nails it!

By RB8205 |

This is a modern interpretation of TexMex is so many ways. The food is very fresh and and it is hard to go wrong with anything in the menu. But there are a couple musts. Do try the chicken Verde enchiladas are truly incredible but the short rib, slow braised & chargrilled with chipotle molasses should not be missed. All their signature drinks are made with fresh ingredients so make sure to taste at least one or maybe two. The service is very attentive at dinner but I struggled a bit for attention a few times at lunch. Keep in mind, they do not take reservations. My comments are limited to the Roswell Rd location in Buckhead. I frequent thus location because it is close to my home.

Winner Winner Catfish dinner!

By TravelgirlsTennessee |

Passing through Atlanta on our way home and stopped by on recommendations from my daughters friends. We gave our names and went to the bar for a drink while we waited for a table. My hubs got a special margarita with organic tequila which was good, smooth and light. His second one he ordered from the table was better with more flavor. I got a red sangria which was poured straight out of a bottle and she added some fresh fruit to my glass. Boring and not even a splash of Grand Mariner or Triple sec to liven it up. Stop selling these until you make them better. We got to our table and got our chips and salsa. Chips were light and tasty and served with an avacado purĂ©e salsa of some sort and it was tasty. The second salsa was different, spicy maybe smoky, but we didn’t really like it. We ordered what we thought was white queso but was called Fundido. It came out as melted cheese on a plate that needed to be cut to put it on a tortilla or chip. Very tasty but not what we thought we were getting. I ordered the blackened catfish with 3 bacon wrapped shrimp. It was fantastic. It came with picco de Gallo and avocado a nice touch. Hubs ordered Dorados which was fried shrimp tacos which he liked as well. Both came with beans which were tasteless. Our server, S, didn’t seem to care if we were there or not, competent but not caring. All in all great food, very loud music( turn it down)and we would come back again now we know what to expect.

Sunday Brunch

By raven99803 |

So I don’t review restaurants often, but OMG this place is amazing. Fresh chips and this Avocado salsa is to die for! Margaritas are awesome, I had Tamales and eggs. They make their own tortillas. Yum!!! Picture of chips and Salsa almost gone because it’s so good!

Birthday lunch

By Dawn M |

This was the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Outstanding chips and salsa. I'm very picky about that. They achieved my highest standard there. The food was great. Friendly staff. Can't wait to go back!

Best ATL Mexican Hands Down!!

By aaronatl |

This is mine and my family's favorite Mexican food now. Their meals are amazing and their staff seems to care about their job. I really think this place is well managed, clean, and the best Mexican joint in Atlanta right now. Their wood fired meats are superb.

Great Mexican Restaurant, Nice Atmosphere

By S D |

Very good Mexican food. I've only been to Superica for lunch, but each time the food was great and the cocktails were excellent. Chicken fajitas with Mexican butter couldn't be much better. My lunch mate ordered the Choose Two again, because he said it was really good last time. For an authentic, light Mexican cocktail you must try the Paloma. They do it right!! (Thank you Superica, for knowing how to make this drink.) It's just a little pricey but if you want solid Mexican food in Chastain/Buckhead area, go for it. Oh, and the music they play in the dining room and bar area is pretty awesome too.

Really good food, but...

By Ernie B |

We really enjoyed the food, but the margaritas were not so good. the place is clean and it seems to be very popular with a very young crowd. It is very loud inside, so we elected to eat outside which was much more pleasant. We went on a Saturday evening and expected a long wait. While there was a wait, it was not as bad as we anticipated. For us, good margaritas are a major component of a good Mexican meal. We tried about 3 different varieties and none were up to our expectations. Had they been, the rating would be much higher.

Green salsaaaaaaaaa

By Mary |

Their green salsa is amazing. So yummy. Cute, hip restaurant. Good tasting food. Average pricing. Very friendly service. Go closer to opening time to avoid the rush, seems to get busy around 6 on Fridays.

Great vibe and really good

By meyeratl |

Great vibe and really good food. The atmosphere is fun but a little too loud and the service is okay.

Good Food, but Pricey!

By Hitesh P |

Visited this place about a week ago for lunch. Food and service were good, but very over priced. The guacamole was very bland, no real taste to it and the avacado in the guacamole wasn’t even mashed up properly. The pork belly tacos were good. They give 3 tacos per order, but two were enough. Had the OG margarita, didn’t seem worth the $10.

Saturday Brunch

By MattAtl12 |

First time at Superica Buckhead and not disappointed! Location is convenient with lots of parking, a great waiting area lounge & lots of tables inside. Food was so good and enjoyed having both a brunch and the regular lunch menu to order from. I had the steak and eggs and it was a large portion and cooked perfectly. My buddy had a breakfast potato skillet type and he really enjoyed it as well. The actual design of the restaurant is amazing with careful thought going into making you feel special.

Not again

By Brad C |

Yikes. What happened to this restaurant? We are in the food industry and loved coming here on prior trips to the ATL. This will be our last visit. Awful service, hours for the entrees, forgotten orders, watered down drinks without ingredients. The queso is still solid but they clearly have become comfortable etc.

Uncommonly Good

By Kenneth F |

We have been enjoying this restaurant the minute they opened up. Yes the Food is excellent. I have the Pork Tacos and my wife has the Chicken. Never does this food disappoint. Mostly and importantly neither do the staff. They make you feel like you are in their kitchen and they are making the dish for you! Keep up the great job!!

Unique take on tex mex. We loved it.

By travelchanapts |

Tasty food. Good booze. Friendly servers. Check out the unique bathrooms. They had good sounding live band when there.

First-time Visitor - Very Pleased

By Quest307135 |

Found the restaurant on Trip Advisor. Laura B was a very good server. Very clean, including restroom. Three soft tacos (2 steak, 1 pork) and rice & beans were delicious. Enjoyable atmosphere. I will be visiting again.

Consistently Good

By HonesttoGoodness |

We like this place both as a family-friendly restaurant AND as a date night spot. The food and service are consistently good. There are lots of young families there if you arrive before 6/6:30. It's also a very fun adult scene a little later on. Delicious house salad, dips, and margaritas. We love the hip atmosphere, yet reasonable pricing. We've never had a bad experience!

Family and friends

By JEFF O |

Upon arrival staff did excellent job making sure we received top notch service. The quality of the food was awesome. An best of all bathrooms was spotless.I definitely recommend this restaurant over all the others in atlanta!

Tex-Mex food, beverages and fun place

By stevebirkett477 |

Really enjoyed the food and margarita at lunch one day, so went back the next day for dinner to try other dishes and was not disappointed. The service both at the table and bar was very good too.

Poor service!

By Kendra K |

When we arrived for lunch, they weren't very busy, but we were seated for quite awhile before given menus or anything to drink. The food was pretty good, but the waiter wasn't very attentive - took awhile to get our order taken, refills, and to get our check taken care of. May or may not go back...

Never had a bad meal

By bertshowbert |

Super solid Mex tex. yes. Mex tex. The food is always great. MAYBE a little salty some times. The bar scene gets packed early. The bartenders are always top notch. However, No tv's to watch any sporting events.

Great drinks and really tasty food

By JonathanH1226 |

Went to Superica for the first time Friday night. The wait was about 45 minutes for 4 people but we figured that’dbe the case so we got a couple drinks at the bar and waited for our table. I would highly recommend the OG Margarita and FrosĂ© (frozen RosĂ©). The drinks are a little on the pricey side but they are very well made and pack a punch. The food was upscale Mexican/Tex-mex and was delicious. My wife and I split the trio fajitas with steak, chicken, and pork belly. We both thoroughly enjoyed our night here and will definitely go back soon. Would recommend for a date night or night out with friends.

Pancakes!

By jholtpepsi |

Holy smoke the pancakes! Never would have ordered pancakes at a place like this but they are out of sight. Food, service, selections, are all good but the pancakes are unbelievable.

GreaseFEST

By iamhu |

Chips very salty (you can specially request no-salt chips), salsas just so-so, tasteless beans and rice, guacamole so-so (served with a special chip you could wring grease from) . . . nothing outstanding except for the amount of grease in all the food! Tacos Barbacoa, tasty b/c of fat (1/2 meat, 1/2 fat on meat), corn tortilla somewhat wet and limp from fat it was cooked in. Pork carnitas you could wring grease from (I know it's fried but this was RIDICULOUS), same greasy tortilla. Grease running from Beef piccadillo enchilada. Unless you really crave grease would strongly suggest you skip this greaseFEST!!

Fun/delicious upscale Mexican restaurant!

By sarah catherine |

Superica is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Atlanta! I like that it is a little more upscale than your typical Mexican place. The enchiladas are SO good and great to split if you get appetizers as well. The skinny marg is my favorite. Definitely on the pricier side, but it is worth it. Love the atmosphere and also love to sit at the bar!

Great Tex Mex in Atlanta!

By rebeccadw2016 |

Being from Texas, I have never liked any of the Mexican restaurants in the Atlanta area until Superica opened up. I love this place. The beef is so good and is actually grilled or smoked. The flavor is terrific unlike a lot of Mexican restaurants in Atlanta where it almost tastes like they cooked their beef in a Crock Pot.

Not good

By Ameena |

Had dinner at Superica after the concierge at our hotel suggested it. The good: 1. Food came out quickly. 2. Service is friendly. 3. Location is great. 4. Chips are good. The not-so-good: 1. The food is really just average at best. I had the vegetarian fajitas and it was tasteless...literally just a pile of red cabbage (?) with a few other vegetables mixed in. 2. Prices are really high for the quality and quantity of food. My fajitas were $28.00 which is a lot considering how lacking the meal was. We won't return.

Mole, mole, mole and fish tacos

By LopingianTravels |

Having encountered throngs of riotous patrons in various Buckhead restaurants the night of the LSU - Georgia championship SEC game, we drove by this Tex-Mex eatery and gave our evening meal one-more-chance. Although both the bar and table seating was hopping, we were able to get seated in a relatively short amount of time and were quickly attended to with the delivery of Superica's house-made chips and salsas. I should warn future patrons that it is very easy to consume these appetizers because their preparation is wonderful. In fact, our waiter stressed the fact that the restaurant prepares all of their menu items, except the brining of the chicken, on the day of service. And, to our palates, this attention to detail showed. Having had and searched out various southwestern US restaurants offering mole, the fact that this sweet, spicy, smoky, nutty, and bitter paste was on the menu was surprising because this is Atlanta. I ordered the Pollo Mole and was not disappointed by the latter, although the former was dry and chewy. One member of our party ordered the fish tacos, while another ordered the Picadillo tacos. The fish tacos were well prepared; in contrast, the beef was bland. Entrees were served with well seasoned and tasty rice, and refried beans which could have used some additional seasoning. We found our evening meal satisfying and will return when we are back in Buckhead next year.

Awesome

By Bruce M |

This place is super cool. The service was great and the good was very tasty. The salsa with the chips is so good.. The steak Nacos were the best ever. Affiliated with El felix. Awesome place too. Can't wait to go back.

Awesome lunch!

By Dham5254 |

Went to this location after going to Krog street location awhile ago. This spot has a great vibe, great music and the staff is super nice. Drinks were great, food was great, the salsas were great. Definitely going back asap.

Good Food, Cool Place

By Delphine J |

I enjoyed the Tex-Mex cuisine at Superrica and the cool decor of the bar, restaurant and waiting area. The food was good - I had the fajitas. We were a group of 7 women and we found it hard to hear each other talking over the noise in the restaurant - There are high ceilings and the acoustics aren't great. I would definitely go back but with a smaller group.

Thoroughly Impressed

By Von G |

We are visiting family in town for Christmas and normally have very different ideas on what "good food" is. This always bleeds into where we choose to go out to eat, but extended family has found common ground in Superica. Since we've been in town (all of one week,) we have been to Superica 3 times now. Twice for dinner and once for brunch. Each time we got something different and enjoyed it. You must try the hot cakes, tampiquena, and blood orange margarita! Besides the food, the service is excellent and totally took me by surprise. Each server we had was great and really made our experiences awesome. Many different people checked in on us routinely and we were well attended to on every visit. I think we've found our new holiday spot.

Weekend in Atlanta

By Gabriel B |

Excellent food and great service. This spot is a must have while visiting Atlanta. Highly recommended!

Good, but over-hyped I think

By Work2TravelMore |

Cocktails - check. Interesting decor, vibe - check. Interesting menu items - check. My new favorite restaurant - no so much. Food was good, but not anything outstanding, that I would crave to go back for. Perhaps lunch wasn't the right time, or we just didn't order well, but I think its a bit overpriced except for the lunch special. Our waitress just couldn't leave us alone, and if she had been at all engaging, that would have been fine. We clearly weren't in a rush, but she couldn't wait for us to finish eating to get us the check. Sadly, she was training someone, hope they don't follow all her instructions.... I think I'll pick BarTaco just down the street next time, I have had much better expereiences and food/cocktails there.

Best Mexican food ever!

By Kit D |

We went with a family group (5 adults, 4 children) for lunch while visiting Atlanta and had great drinks, food and service!

Great steak fajitas but flies flies flies everywhere...!!

By Viknd |

Quality of the steak in the fajitas was high end, very flavorful, and cooled a perfect medium rare, with a bit portion so worth the $26. Guac with chips also very tasty. This would usually equate to 4.5--5 stars but there was a horrendous number of flies circling our food which was AWFUL. For the love of God, fumigate and kill them because customers won't come back until u do!!

Girls brunch!

By emma m |

Service and atmosphere is amazing! Managers checked on us to make sure everything was delightful! Servers work together! Food and drinks were on point!!!! Highly recommend !

Super premium!

By Margaret S |

My friend and I popped into Superica on the spur of the moment for a quick look see and a possible drink. We had a fun memorable delicious night with great service and friendly people! We watched the comings and goings from the bar--its a lively and popular place. Some regulars ordered us the shrimp wrapped in bacon tacos with hot Mexican butter. Amazing! Can't wait to vusut again!

Came for Brunch...stayed for Hot Cakes!

By Jarred F |

Came in to visit family from out of town. They all made it a point that we HAD to go to Superica. I love Tex Mex so I had high standards, but certainly didnt expect brunch to be the reason I was blown away! Service was awesome! Our server was hilarious and the whole place was very lively. I got the hot cakes and O!M!G! I could eat them for the rest of my life. If you're ever in Atlanta-GO!

Disappointing birthday meal

By TwoTravelers245 |

This meal was SO disappointing. The chicken in my taco was pink. The food was all so salty it hindered the taste. The margaritas were not good. We did not drink them-just stuck to water. We did not complain due to it being a birthday choice-we didn’t want to cause our server a problem either. For a $95 meal we could have done better at much cheaper places. What a waste! We have loved it before. Sunday after brunch April 14

Great Tex Mex in ATL

By Jenna Lynn Warner |

I took my brother here for his birthday. We loved it. Great food and drinks. We also loved the atmosphere and the decor of this location.

Wow—always!!

By Jeff M |

This is our go to! They nail it every time— we eat out a lot and by experience no that it’s hard to nail it everytime...we’ll, Superica does!! We constantly seek opportunities to bring more of our friends and family here (both locals and out-of-towners). The authenticity of the food really sets Superica apart! We come back because it’s always so very good-excellent! Consistently great food alone can go a long way, but add to that the consistency of service and just the right amount of friendly attention (not too much and not to little) by busers, wait staff and management alike will keep us coming back!!

Great Mexican Dinner!

By Kendall |

Upsides: The queso and house salad are my favorites - SO good! Downsides: The restaurant in always crowded and I generally end up waiting atleast 30 minutes for a table.

Really good Margs

By Joe N |

Superica offers up really good Mexican food in a great atmosphere. The Margs are delicious and so is the chips and salsa. I could go here and just eat those things but my enchiladas were well worth me being more full than I have ever been in my life!

Not impressed with their food.

By Carlen01 |

Went to an early dinner and we were politely and promptly greeted and seated. Ordered queso fundido and chili con queso for our party of 6. The chili con queso was tasty but the fundido rapidly went from creamy and fluid to an elastic consistency. I had tacos al carbon (steak) and was unpleasantly surprised when I bit into the first of 3 tacos - the meat in each taco was cut into large pieces and very tough, The tacos were quite tasty but extremely difficult to chew. The beans were very good as were the condiments/sauces.

Service needs work

By jon g |

We arrived at 6:45 on a Sunday, greeted by an unsmiling hostess. After we were seated it took quite a while for a server to appear and get our order. After we ordered another long wait followed. We ate so many chips while we were waiting for our dinner that we weren’t very hungry by the time it arrived. Requests for extra limes went unanswered. The restroom was overflowing with used paper. Our bill came and we sat over a sticky, gooey table while we again wAited quite a while to have our credit card taken. The food was good, but the long waits and inattentive service left a bad taste.

Good food and drinks

By Pillitiquis |

The place was crowded but everything runs smoothly, the waiting time was 10 minutes and after 10 minutes we got our table. The drinks were very well done and the food arrives promptly, perfect temperature and flavor. Every demand was satisfied fast and properly. It was my first time and I will visit again for sure.

Great Atmosphere, Average Food/Drinks

By LeighWallaceDodd |

Superica has potential to have great food and drinks but missed the mark. They have an extensive Tequila selection and several house made cocktails, but none of the drinks blew me away. The guacamole and queso appetizers were great and the fajitas were average. We sat outside on the patio (it is dog friendly!) and enjoyed the atmosphere, had a great waiter. The price we paid was a little more than what I would have expected for an "average" dinner.

Very Good!

By Mis4 |

This restaurant has great reviews, and is kid friendly and wheelchair friendly so we gave it a try. It was really good, and they had a brunch menu in addition to the regular menu on Sat. The pancakes and tacos were delicious, and service was good too. Would go back!

Very tasty MexIcan Fare.

By markkX6690EX |

Superica is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Atlanta. I had the Lopez, which was exceedingly flavorful in a very generous portion. My son had the tacos, which he liked very much. I have also been to their other location, which was just as good. My only complaint, was that the chips were very salty.

What happened to Superica?

By Brooks B |

Superica was our favorite Mexican restaurant for years. Once the pandemic hit, they started modifying the menu - limiting options and raising prices. Tonight we ordered the steak and chicken fajitas - a $50 meal for one person, which used to be about $25-30 max. The $14 guacamole is barely a side portion now. I’m extremely disappointed in the quality decline. We will not be dining at Superica again unfortunately

Bland, Americanized Breakfast

The huevos rancheros were an unappetizing mess and completely flavorless. The salsa was bland and was on the bottom of the eggs instead of on top as it should be. The refried beans were excessive and salty. The service was okay but certainly not above average considering their premium pricing. Don't bother if you like Mexican food.

Nice place but no good food or drinks

By veronicamolinarios |

We just went to celebrate my boyfriend's mom and sister birthday, for this reason we order food and drinks but honestly the worse cocktails I had in my life and the food wasn't good either, the price high, my boyfriend and I believe he just waste the money, if you want to go and just have some social drinks go for the sure thing and ask a beer.

Super time at Superica!

By Kathy P |

We went to your restaurant for the first time last night! It was a great experience from our arrival time until we left. We got there about 6:30 but didn't have to wait over 30 minutes! Our waitress, Allyssa was fabulous. And the food was VERY good! We will be back!

I want this where I live!

By WullaB86 |

Some of the best Mexican food (Texmex maybe) I've ever had. I think their salsa is what made everything better. It was divine as were their enchiladas and tacos. I want Superrich in my hometown!

Disappointed & discouraged.

By SEbiztraveler2 |

Of course, the current situation requires meal pick up only. We tried to place our order online, but the system crashed. We gave our order to a “carhop”, and were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour wait. We waited for a bit more than an hour, and finally asked about our order. The order was brought to us immediately, but getting through the line of cars waiting to place or pick up was challenging. Then we were disappointed when we got home to find that part of the order was missing. The food was average. We will give it another try when we can eat in a restaurant but, for now, we will not return.

GREAT Casual Restaurant

By Maria35 |

Food: A+ Looking over the menu, I was in an "oh-no" mindset. The menu did not look like a typical Mexican menu, and I had my doubts that the twists on my favorites would work. I was so wrong, everything our group ate was DELICIOUS, the pork belly which I usually hate and avoid was delicious, the chips were delicious, the side sauces delicious. Just plow in and order, and don't expect the usual "Mexican". The only thing I was not a fan of was the Margarita. It's not sweet enough for me, but unlike other places these actual have alcohol in them! Ambience: A You can actually hear your dining companions, the place is busy and usually packed. I have been early evening and it's filled with families, later it's filled with couples and groups. Service: A+ The service was quick and friendly. Lots of very good help Cleanliness: A+ Bathrooms spotless I would come again to the place, in fact thinking of making this a must do every time in Atlanta.

Delicious and clean

Our family of 4 stopped in and everyone loved their food. Was fresh, delicious and not the typical texmex. My salad was particularly good.

Great Tex-Mex, and I'm from Texas

By Mark R |

The food is just great. I hated to write a review for fear that we would have to wait even longer to get in, but clearly the word is out. Everything we've had is exceptional. So glad they opened a location in Bulkhead. Ford Fry is a restaurant genius. Buck up for the Fred Flintstone Shortrib, and you'll never forget it.

My Favorite Tex-Mex in Atlanta

By Gretchen N |

The food is amazing! I dream of these tacos. When you order the guacamole you receive the fluffy tortilla chips which are the best. The regular chips and salsa are excellent too, especially the salsa verde'. We started at the bar and what can I say these are also wonderfully made. Superica has a wonderful staff and fantastic ambiance. Buckhead is preferred location but the one at Krog Street is good too.

Best Tex-Mex in Atlanta

By cowbulls |

We are new to the area and lived in Houston for a stretch. We know Mexican food and this is succulent Tex-Mex food. The green sauce alone is worth the visit. We always start with queso fundido, and it never disappoints. On our most recent visit, my wife had the cheese enchiladas, and I had my favorite, the RICO carnitas. Everything was exceptional.

Best Tex-Mex Restaurant in Atlanta

We have been to this restaurant many times. It has always been wonderful. The food is awesome and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend.

Imagination run wild

By Scott S |

Superica is a very special restaurant for very imaginative TexMex food! Every dish is a full blown concert. My favorite - the grilled shrimp!

5 stars!!!

By marigold_walston |

Bexst experience I've ever had the pleasure of sharing! Server staff was super friendly and helpful ! Best carnitas tacos I've ever had and management was just as friendly as the servers. These days restaurant seem to lack the level of genuine interest in their guest but Superica keeps it alive. If you're in Atlanta, this place is a must!!!!!

This is one of the best Mexican Restaurants

By BACS |

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have eaten in! The staff truly love their jobs and are so cheerful and pleasant. Our waiter was extremely attentive to those needing gluten free accommodations. I had the mixed fajitas and the presentation was beautiful and they tasted so good!!

Consistently Good

By Rebecca L |

We love this second location of Ford Fry's "Mex-Tex" restaurant. Go early as it fills up quickly. The restaurant has a large bar area, but is also kid friendly and offers covered patio seating. We've been twice and both times, it was great. We've had the Chicken Verde Enchiladas, the Tacos al Carbon (in both steak and chicken), the Picadillo Enchiladas and the Hamberguesa Superica.

Best Mexican in Buckhead

By Ken A |

Great food at great prices. This is a great blend of gourmet Mexican and everyday eating. I eat here frequently and it is consistently good.

Best TexMex in Atlanta

By Mark G |

We recently tried this restaurant for the first time. As a transplanted Texan, I think Superica has the best Tex Mex food in Atlanta. Atmosphere is very casual but comfortable. They have a full bar and extensive menu. Portions are generous. The price for food was very reasonable; drink prices are a bit high. Service was great. I love everything about this place and will coming back frequently.

Could be so much more

By Elgales |

Came to Superica based on previous experience of my wife, who was impressed by quality of food. We were a group of 7, 3 adults and 4 kids. Service was slow and disinterested. Quality of food was good, but not particularly memorable. We had beer and margaritas which were pretty good. I had a tough time reconciling the amount we paid with the experience we received. Space and ambience is good and family friendly. Might give them another go and hope for a better server, but left feeling it could be so much more.

I don't get it

By mlnlaw |

I didn't think the food was anything special. I had the flank steak. The waitress was very nice, pleasant, patient with our kids, and comped my wife a birthday margarita. Place is nice but the prices are pretty high. We have lots of restaurants near us. It wasn't bad but it wasn't so good that I get its high popularity or the above average prices. If I want to pay extra for higher end Mexican, I'd go to Bar taco. For less expensive but still creative and delicious tacos, hit Verde.

Super delicious

By soldieroflite |

We were greeted by a hostess outside who was very nice and took us to our table. We sat at one of the bar tables. The restaurant is set for social distancing and Samantha sat us and got us chips and salsa. Chloe came shortly after with silverware and bowls. Samantha gave us a full run down of the menu because this was our first time. And everything sounded tasty. We got the fundido with mushrooms and peppers that came with home made tortillas as an appetizer. Soooo good. We ordered the pancakes which were super delicious with the syrup. And the chorizo eggs and potatoes with refried beans and also came with home made tortillas. Everything was so good but we ordered more than we could eat. So we have dinner for tonight as well. Definitely ask for Chloe. She did a great job and took good care of us. And we enjoyed our chat with Samantha. Definitely will be back.

Good energy in this place! Food was delightful.

By Marielley R |

Loved the decor and the energy. Service was exceptional. We will be back! Had the shrimp tacos that come with cheeses gooey retried beans. Great value. Chips and salsa were the best I ever had.

Excellent Food!

By luvcruzin2 |

Excellent food with great service. The serving size was very large. The only down side would be the lack of adequate parking during the busy dinner time. It was very crowded when we arrived but the service didn't suffer. Highly recommend!

Off evening for one of our longtime favorite restaurants?

By hoppingmom |

This has always been one of our favorite restaurants but this night it was a little off. We had eaten here in late April and it was fabulous
everything popping with flavor. The chips and salsas are truly among the best and we consistently enjoy them. In fact, the salsas are actually richer and better than they used to be. But, last night (in June), we returned and I again had the shrimp tacos(spicy) and my husband had the enchiladas with steak. My shrimp tacos tasted totally different from when we visited in April. They lacked the rich flavors that had made them such a standout entree earlier. The corn tacos were somewhat jumbled and hard to sort out with the fillings and toppings plopped on top
.poor presentation. My husband’s enchilada reminded him of a cheeseburger with cheese and steak and was also poorly presented. In the past, he has had the chili poblano which has been excellent and maybe that still is. Normally we have to wait in line but on this Saturday night there was no wait. I hope this was an exception or off evening for this fine Tex-mex restaurant. The inconsistency in quality, presentation, and service for a moderately priced dinner makes one wonder. We still very much hope to return and find the same excellent quality and service we were used to for many years.

Way too LOUD!

By mark07871 |

A friend recommended it for dinner while we were in town. Cool setting with lots of energy but the background music was way too loud. We could not have a conversation amongst the four of us without shouting. We love going out for Mexican food when we travel but found our dinners to be just average. Really loved their chips though!

Good

By Maria G |

Superica Buckhead is good but not great like it says in all the magazines. We came because my son wanted the Chileques that are on the brunch menu and he had read online that they were the best in town. The first plate was cold the second plate was salty. They did bring a dessert of tres leches at the end to make up for the chileques. The 2 orders of queso fundido were delicious. the service was nonexistent.

Superior Mexican food that's a little different than usual

By Kent J |

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Atlanta, the food, especially the meats, are much better than average on the menu options aren't the usual fare. A little noisy (loud music and bar) for a romantic date or serious business meeting, but very good option for family, friends, and good food.

Excellent food and atmosphere

By R3770WEanthonyf |

Fun place to grab some great food and drinks. There are plenty of options on the menu and the service is quick and friendly. The entrees are large, so easy to share a lot of them. Would rank this as some of the best Mexican food in Atlanta.

Delicious Food, Bizarre Service

By Grace B |

The food was delicious Tex Mex. The chips were thin and fresh and the two salsas were very good. We ordered queso fundido which hit the spot with the fresh tortillas. We got shrimp tacos and enchiladas which we devoured. However, the hostess was extremely rude for no reason. I have never experienced such an unwelcoming attitude. Our waitress was nice, but disappeared for long stretches of time so it took forever for us to order. She was serving the other tables around us though. To top it off, our waitress eventually came and took away our chips and salsa, and the queso we paid extra for, without even asking. Food was excellent, but I would not return to this location due to the staff.

Great Fajitas

By Michael B |

Stopped at Superica for lunch and was not disappointed. Although the service was a little slow, the food was excellent. We split the fajitas and they were some of the best we’ve ever had. Would definitely return.

Worst Tex Mex Food

By ljrapp16 |

The food was so bad it made me sick. The salad had no taste and the fajitas and the beans that came with it had such a smoke flavor that you only tasted the smoke in everything. The wrap that came with it was terrible. Their chips and dips were very good. The food here is not only bad it is so over priced!!! The one thing that was great was the service. We had a server named Cash who was excellent.

Great but Not Krog Street Market

By chefluee |

While we have very mixed feelings about this Superica location it is quite good. Service is not quite as good, atmosphere(lighting) is much better. Staff is friendlier. Food is about the same. Parking is much easier. Although the Buckhead location is not quite as busy as the KS< they seem to rush one during lunch hour, might be what they are use to by the clientele. When we have left overs KSM brings little fresh containers of salsa and beans. Buckhead brings empty containers and just hands them to you. Guess KSM is a little laid back. But we will return to Buckhead when in the area. And highly recommend. The chicken fajitas are absolutely wonderful as well as the fundito cheese.

Fabulous!

By Becky V |

We ate at Superica in Buckhead last weekend with a group of 6. Great food! Great service! Everything perfect! Very crowded but our server made sure we were happy. Food was delivered quickly and was delicious.

Great food and beverages in a way too cramped attmosphere.

By cowbulls |

The wait time at this location can be a little unpredictable. We recently dined on a Sunday night and the restaurant was full and on a wait. The food, drinks, and service are very good but each time we go here, I threaten to never come back because the tables are too tight and uncomfortable. This place desperately needs larger booths.

Superica comes to Buckhead!

By OneHappyFamily1 |

Second location of Ford Fry's Mexican concept, Superica opened on Roswell Road in July 2016. Fresh Mexican done well. Our first visit was August 2016. Great energy and crowded venue. Polite hostess said our wait would be 45 minutes to 1 hour but ended up being more like 35 minutes. Ordered a margarita from the bar to enjoy while visiting - fabulous drink. The star of the evening was our server Stormy. She explained the menu with great enthusiasm, made recommendations based on our preferences and kept checking on us with her 1,000 watt smile. She gets it - a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle. Enjoyed the chicken taco which was fresh with homemade tortillas. Substituted black beans for the beans with pork rendering. So much more we want to try. We will be back to Superica Buckhead - hope sunny Stormy will be there too!
