Upscale

Supper American Eatery is an upscale restaurant in the beautiful Hotel Emma. Every course was excellent. Just a few steps from the Go Rio water taxi stand, come and go by boat for a special evening.

Delicious blend of flavors

By Got my go shoes on |

This restaurant is located in Hotel Emma with an upscale feel in white decor. Perfect place to eat if you want a menu with more unusual blends of flavors and combinations of food items. Not your go to if you’re just wanting hamburgers and pizza type food. We ordered the Crispy Cauliflower with Brussel sprouts. All I can say is OMG. So stinking delicious. I could eat this as a small lunch and be a happy camper indeed. Do not go here and not order this. For my meal, I ordered the 5 grain bowl with roasted beets and spinach with whipped feta. The picture looks plain but when it’s mixed together, the blend of flavors work so well together. I had extra lettuce from a friends plate that I added and really enjoyed so if you want a few more greens, you could ask for that. I would get this again as well. Friend ordered Spinach and Radicchio salad with maple vinaigrette and she felt it was outstanding. Other friend ordered the Ham and Gruyère grilled cheese. She did not have the artichoke or tomatoes on it so believe that would have taken that sandwich to the next level. Do yourself a favor and dine here if you’re eating at the Pearl.

Not quite right

By Tony T |

Pros - good wine list with reasonable prices for quality offered. Nice bar and dining room. Part of the Hotel Emma complex Cons-service was ok, food was not worth it for the money. Ordered NY steak and it looked and tasted like it was boiled. Never seen a NY steak look like that. Despite complaining about the food-no recovery action taken by wait staff or restaurant manager. The next day I asked to speak with a F&B manager at the hotel and was given the front desk manager. She listened and apologized. Great hotel but needs work in the main restaurant. Seems like much better options to eat nearby.

Delectable eating experience, take you time

By Kathleen W |

Take your time to taste every complex delicious flavor, combined with textures that are just an amazing; and that was just the crispy Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Cauliflower with Caramel Popcorn, Peanuts and Chili Garlic You’ve got to try this. The grilled fontina sandwich with apple relish. Wow, just ask the chef to send out what he recommends. Great service, clean and classy atmosphere with big sunny windows. Compliments to Chef John Brand.

Popular restaurant in Hotel Emma

By Liz T |

Quite a good range of things to choose from on the menu. The sharing starters were good, as were the pasta and steak. The braise lamb was huge, and very well cooked, but the sauce was a bit too sour for my liking. The marshmallow dessert was good but very sweet! You must make a reservation if you want to visit. It's unlikely you'll be able to just walk in and get a table.

Mixed results

By DCKathy |

The good: The cauliflower vegetables were great - crisp and tasty - a good size for the three of us to share with our dinners. The dessert - sweat pea ice cream with angle food cake - had a variety of interesting and surprising tastes. Service was excellent without being intrusive. The postcard at the end, which they would mail, is a lovely touch. The sad - Bourbon Lamb was too sweet, and the sauce drowned the taste of the lamb. Also, too much meat, needed more veggies and other things. Disappointing. Nice place, and I’m glad we went, but I’m sorry I didn’t order something different. For an expensive restaurant, everything needs to be amazing. If not for the central dish, this would have been a five-star review.

We ate here on our first night

By Amy T |

We ate here on our first night at the hotel. Waiter was friendly and open. I had the sea bass and my husband had the quail. For starters, we had gnocchi and lamb meatballs. Each was beautifully prepared and tasted wonderful. We then ate here a second night, we had pork tenderloin and steak. We had the coconut curry for a starter. Each time we ate here was so wonderful. We were very impressed. We would eat here again.

Business Lunch

By Kimberly S |

This is an amazing eatery. Outstanding food, attentive staff, and casual elegance. The restaurant is noisy (keep this in mind if you need to carefully listen to the discussion over the meal) but the location, and food, make up for that small point. Save room for coffee!

Superlative!!

By Hey Joe |

Supper is easily the most interesting and immersive dining experiences anywhere. Located inside the expansive and sumptuous Emma Hotel that has a host of culinary and entertainment options, Supper offers a unique menu and seating experience overlooking the San Antonio River with a spectacular display of lights. The menu items are unique and flavorful with service without equal. The decor is vintage and richly rewarding. Make sure you take a tour of discovery in search of the books and crannies offering intimate seating and imbibing options.

Culinary heaven! Genius use of unique products are combined to make all of their menus and dishes memorable!

By Getaway13127286759 |

The food is so unique and amazing! Service is second to none! The Brussel sprout dishes were my favorites! If you are looking for an incredible culinary experience, then look no further!

Lovely lunch spot!

By Hoperenoodle |

When I travel to a new city I always check TripAdvisor for ideas of where to eat. That is how I found Supper American Eatery at the Hotel Emma. We walked up the riverwalk from our hotel and were seated outside on the patio with a lovely view of the water. I had a chicken salad on croissant sandwich with a side salad. The Meyer lemon dressing on the salad was wonderful! It was one of my favorite meals of our trip. And when you’re done with lunch, go inside and check out the beautiful hotel and the surrounding Pearl complex.

Good food

By Trvl8176 |

We ate here on New Years Eve and the service was good and the food was good. The decor is also nice. Everything was essentially good but nothing was amazing so I’d give is a 4 star review.

Food is just okay. Not what I expected!

By Debbie L |

I expected this to be a nice restaurant but the ambiance is not great and the food is just so-so. Service is good, however.

Best Brussels sprouts in town

By Ramon Coronado |

This place is very pretty, recommended for a sunset fresh day to eat in the patio with your loved one. The food is great, but the Brussels sprouts are magnificent! It can get a little bit too loud inside; however you cannot beat the location if you are visiting San Antonio,

Excellent but...

By M T |

We had a table for eight to celebrate my wife's birthday. When we initially walked in, there were two bartenders and two hostesses with no other guests in sight. There was no greeting, no "welcome", "hello", nothing. We arrived early and sat at the bar to have drinks before the rest of our party arrived. The young lady who was making our drinks was pleasant and friendly once we started to order. The drinks were top notch! I watched her as she crafted different drinks and she was able to create something for me personally based off of my taste buds. We ended our thirty minute visit at the bar, tipped the bartender and headed to our table. Katie was our server and an introvert through and through. We were the most lively table she's ever had in her 3 years of working there. Katie was nice, glasses stayed full, our plates came out hot and the plate presentation was perfect. The garlic roasted bread was the most flavorful bread I've ever had, the brussel sprouts w/ popcorn was amazing, and the confit of duck was also a great pick! My wife had the quail and wouldn't stop talking about it. Overall, it was a great evening! Here's what our group concluded about the demeanor of the staff. The restaurant is at Hotel Emma which brings in a particular demographic, we didn't fit into that demographic and they've only been trained one way, which is to deal with the snobby and uptight people who visit their restaurant. We aren't strangers to fine dining and while the service was impeccable, the staff seemed somewhat preprogrammed and bland. Even when one of the dining room managers came to assist Katie by grabbing some plates, I said "thank you" and his response was robotic, zero personality. They presented the cake I dropped off earlier in the day to my wife and even provided candles, which was awesome. The pastry chef cut the cake and Katie brought out 8 glasses of sparkling wine, which was a nice gesture. Overall, the restaurant felt like a "dinner checklist complete, pay and leave" establishment. Chick-Fil-A's customer service beats the restaurant hands down. Some minor details to provide some context to what I'm trying to convey... -I wasn't a guest at the hotel, we live here. -I've stayed/dined at The Jefferson Hotel in D.C., The Charleston Place Hotel, The Vanderbilt Hotel, and The Oak Steakhouse (Charleston, SC), and the Broadmoor in Colorado. All of these hotels/restaurants are some of the best in the country and treat their guests like family, not customers. -The age range of our table was 33-39 -We're all career professionals

It was a good brunch!

By nabeab |

but they could do better, small portions and very slow service, eventhough service was good and the place is besutiful, we had outside seating. My oatmeal was cold, scrambled eggs ok. It could be more fancy and better!!!

Not only quaint and nostalgic, a good idea for a romantic evening with your partner in life surrounded by beautiful scenery and great food.

The first time I have had ginger lemonade

By Debbie A |

We had a large group and we had good food. The Chicken soup was outstanding. Someone got an American burger that looked awesome. Lots of salads with avocado and egg added. Nest to the Hotel Emma, an incredible hotel

Outstanding and creative food!

By Climber8739 |

Excellent service! We had breakfast and dinner at Supper. I highly recommend the roasted cauliflower, brussel sprout, peanut and popcorn dish. The restaurant is beautiful. I recommend a reservation since it is busy.

Good!

By klj913 |

The menu is small, but classic. We ordered a bottle of wine, appetizers and cocktails plus entrees. If you are going to drink lots of water, I recommend asking the server to leave the bottle at the table. The bronzino was the perfect portion!

Flawless!

By GoJanGo |

I really enjoyed this hip little joint. The service was excellent. The hostesses and the server were very friendly and attentive. When I perused the brunch menu, truthfully, nothing looked that great. I just selected the market fish with a cauliflower purée on a whim. Wow!!! I picked well. The sear was perfect on the fish. It was crisp and melty all at the same time. The cauliflower purée with the salty sweet chutney combined with the fish resulted in a flawless dish. I also had a specialty cocktail with grapefruit and tequila! My meal was so good that I didn’t want to drink my water for fear of washing the delicious taste from my mouth!

Fabulous fresh food

By Kelley E |

I visited Supper for lunch during a quick business trip to San Antonio after looking for a good spot in the area. I am so glad I did! My lunch was fantastic, fresh, and healthy. I had the beet and watermelon appetizer and the simple salad with salmon. My salmon was cooked perfectly and the veggies I had were wonderfully fresh and light. It was a perfect summer meal. I finished with the ice coffee, which was a fantastic pick-me-up for my afternoon meeting. Service was very attentive and thoughtful. And the restaurant itself is beautiful, situated inside Hotel Emma, which is the most interesting hotel I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t live in San Antonio, but I can’t wait to come back!

Great Meal at Supper

By JohnT.tn |

There is a review here that calls chef Brand a "vegetable whisperer". That seems to be the truth. The best part of the meal was the vegetables. Salt and Pepper sprouts and the brocollini are both amazing, as is the curry soup. Some of the best vegetables we have eaten. The homemade pasta was nice and cooked right. I had the quail and really like it. The chili oil gave it nice heat. The beef cheeks were a bit too salty. Service was good, and the timing of the meal was well paced.

Worst thanksgiving

By Bob Sharon G |

This restaurant on Thanksgiving 2024 was a huge disappointment first of all they switched the menu without notification either email, text, or website. The subpar menu had no starters. ( we were interested in the beef Tatar). The starters were explained as salads. Yikes. We chose the turkey plate for SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS. The turkey was dried out ( a container of extra gravy was given to us) the sides were less than mediocre . The saving grace was our server Bianca especially gracious. What a rotten disappointment. Rip off

Great lunch menu

By Shaun S |

Fried green tomatoes - awesome. Beef burger - awesome. Cocktails - awesome. Beer selection - good. Overall - awesome.

Superb dinner in classy setting

By gary3000 |

Supper is located in Hotel Emma. In a lovely converted brick building. The restaurant itself looks classy with the black and brown colours combined with white walls. The salads are innovative and delicious. Combined with various nuts and good flavours. Then the Branzino main course was really lovely. Perfectly cooked. The staff were both friendly and professional, and we enjoyed the wine. All in a really enjoyable meal. Definitely somewhere you could either have a business meal or a date. If you are visiting San Antonio you may appreciate that the hotel is by the Riverwalk, but away from the busy central stretch, so could have a really nice walk to get there or back.

Terrible

By Maria O |

Too pricey for the tiny portions we received. The service was VERY slow. The place is amazing but we are never going back. The only thing we liked was that it included the valet parking.

Should be better

By Stuart N Sarah H |

We tried Supper for Dinner and breakfast as we were staying at the Emma. The Emma is a wonderful hotel, so its surprising how poor Supper is in comparison. The menu is not particularly varied and we struggled to find something to take our fancy. The good news is that there is a lot of choice at the Pearl, so you can certainly elsewhere.

Amazing Dinner at Supper!

By MerloII |

Every year for 11 years we've celebrated the first time my wife met my parents, so every year we venture to a place we've never been....pressure is always on to meet expectations, and dinner at Supper did not disappoint! There aren't many places with this style of ambiance in San Antonio, and scratch made everything responsibly sourced adds to the charm! The restaurant felt quaint but is moderately midsized with fine dining caliber dishes. It was very low key and easy to hold a conversation in (i.e. not loud). Dishes were all out of this world. The lemon and herb risotto was divine. The Halibut with lump crab was and nicoise pickled vegetables was silky smooth, delicately seasoned, and full of deep rich flavor. The roasted chicken with polenta was simple yet perfectly executes; simple dishes are often overworked but his was delish! The beef striploin was perfect temperature, and the sear....oh my fat boy tendency, the sear was too notch with an outrageous crust! Ah yes, and the warm spinach with spicy tomato vinaigrette, bacon lardons, and fried egg was out of this world! Nothing could have been better, and if you're ever at the Pearl this place is a must!!!

Great food and service...Supper is a treat for any meal!

By texas1946 |

Supper is a casual restaurant in the Pearl Brewery area at Hotel Emma. There isn't a huge menu but still something for everyone. I don't think this is a great restaurant for kids, though. I didn't see many "kid friendly" items. This just seems more like a lunch or dinner date place! We were there with friends and everyone enjoyed their food and we didn't feel like we had to hurry out so we were able to enjoy our food, wine and conversation . I suggest making a reservation because it is a very popular place.

Really Good

By Scott C |

We were a large party, 16, so the menu was fixed, but everything was delicious and the service amazing. I tried stuff I never ate before and everything was great!

Christmas dinner

By NoneReally |

Complementary valet made parking a breeze. Lots of foot traffic with passer byers warming themselves by the fire. Inside a tree gleaming with decorations and lights. Supper was just a few steps away. Reservations made in advance, so we were seated upon arrival with no wait. Tables were dressed and our waiter appeared within minutes. Venison for one, quail for me. The mashed potatoes were amazing. The chef even wrote out reheating instructions for leftovers.

Sunday breakfast was incredible

By cpt1515 |

Everything we ordered was amazing. Like the hotel itself, Supper pays attention to the details. The iced coffee, the beignets, the fruit and yogurt were all amazing. Our table also enjoyed a turkey pesto sandwich, eggs, arugula salad and a potato side dish. All were amazing. Not in the normal, some were good and others were so-so - really all incredible.

Does not deserve the stellar reviews

By crabbysandy |

After reviewing the menus and reading the great reviews, we couldn't wait to try this restaurant. Very disappointing. The brussels sprout & cauliflower appetizer was heavy and greasy, the charred gem lettuce salad nothing special, the barramundi was decent but incredibly small. Our waiter was so pretentious it was almost comical. Strange to experience his attitude since the hostess and other employees were so friendly. Avoid this place.

Girls weekend!!!

Wonderful surprise!! Don't miss out! Sat and ate in the bar area which was perfect!! Delicious and superb service! Very friendly and conveniently located!

Great food

By doug k |

Wow. Everything was fantastic. The spinach salad was to die for, so was the steak and the quail. Don’t miss this one!

Lovely dinner

By ctonabb |

So glad we chose Supper. We loved the decor, had a helpful and efficient server, and the food outstanding. Portion sizes filling without being too much. Didn’t taste much lavender in my lavender and gin cocktail which tasted more like lemonade, but that was the only thing off that I noticed. We thought the bill reasonable for all that we ate and drank!

Five Star Service and Amazing New Menu

By Nicole P |

Had a great time at Supper last night and LOVED the new menu items! Supper never disappoints in outstanding cuisine and elegant service. This is our second visit recently and managers Adrian and Victor have graciously helped accommodate our party on both occasions. Our server, Kimberly, was very knowledgeable on the menu sharing her favorites in each category and her service was top-notch! We always love dining at Supper and look forward to our next visit!

Had lunch here twice on separate occasions

By Dana h |

We ate here twice........once in November and then again in January. While it is true that the menu is not extensive, we were all able to find something that we liked. We ate both inside and outside and both have their own certain charm. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent..........the portions could have been just a bit bigger from my perspective. The ambiance is in keeping with the Emma.

Great breakfast spot

By 961jw40 |

We ate here when staying at the Emma and will definitely be back. Breakfast food was perfect. Only complaint was that the server disappeared for long stretches, but Gary (the manager?) more than made up for it.

Disappointing!

By Devi G |

We had family from DC and visited last weekend after UTSA graduation. Guest wanted to try Texas Quail, so when menu said "crispy" Texas quail, he was excited. What was served instead was a fast-food version of this delicate meat. Fried in a boat load of batter, and served with no finesse. My sweet-pea falafel sounded great on the menu but was served over-fried to the point of being slightly bitter. Not coming back!

Inconsistent food quality over three recent visits starting in November 2019

By maxpr1 |

The service and food on Thanksgiving Day were absolutely fabulous. We visited a few weeks later with friends and nothing hit the spot. Everything was sort of blah and the service was spotty. We visited again Christmas Day and were extremely disappointed. The service was very good, but the food was not. Neither of us enjoyed the salad that we had ordered (we each had a different salad). One of the salads was the one served on Thanksgiving, but the dressing was different and not very appealing. My beef on Thanksgiving was probably one of the best that I had ever had. The beef that I ordered today was basically inedible. The cut of meat was horrible. My spouse's lamb was not tasty. We love the location and the convenience of dining here. Overall the service has been good. But the inconsistency on the food is just too much for us to think about dining here again anytime soon.

Superb!

By colesmom1 |

What an amazing experience! The food was creative, flavorful and presented beautifully. We started with beignets garnished with apples and figs. They were better than Cafe Dumond's! For the main course, I had the Atlantic cod with a beet puree and warm quinoa salad. The cod was cooked perfectly and the salad was so good I wanted to lick my plate. Wonderful atmosphere and service. Reservations are highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent food, cocktails and service

By DC_diva_10 |

This restaurant is a real gem- thoughtfully prepared dishes and artisan cocktails, excellent service and upscale but comfortable atmosphere. They use many local ingredients. Located in Hotel Emma in the Pearl a close stroll from the river, outdoor spaces and lots of other shops and restaurants. I had the sunchoke soup and gnocchi (vegetarian), my husband had a warm spinach salad and steak. We split the espresso chocolate cake for dessert. It was fantastic for a date, higher prices than some other nearby restaurants but appropriately priced. Would certainly go back for special occasions!

Great food with a cool vibe

By Debbie O |

Business lunch set in their back room, lovely menu with lots to choose from, great food - their talented Chefs lift up their fresh ingredients to serve wonderful dishes. The wait staff and very professional and anticipate your needs, I'll be back.

Decent Brunch

By J E |

I came here for brunch one Sunday, after making reservations a month prior. I arrived a few minutes before my reservation time (to be sure I was on time), but that didn’t seem to matter to the young girl who was the hostess. She checked me in, telling me to have a seat and wait until some tables were cleaned. But after 10 mins and watching 3 other parties being sat, I asked a different hostess when I’d be seated and she sat me. Clearly the first girl wasn’t on top of her game. First impressions of the looks of this place is that it’s a very nicely decorated joint with industrial mixed with modern. It’s beautiful in there! They have an open kitchen with seating there, so you can watch the kitchen. Their bar is pretty slick too and the bartenders wearing leather suspenders was cool too. I wanted to try a cocktail, so I opted for their Vodka Spritz and it was outstanding! Once I was seated, my server was friendly and helpful, so was the manager who came to check on me after eating. My bartender suggested the burger with fries, so I went with that. It was pretty good, but it was supposed to have peppers on it and I didn’t taste nor see any. The heel of the bun was non-existent (too thin), leading to me having to knife & fork half of it. The side salad that came with it was outstanding! Their house made pickled cucumbers are amazing, so was their Meyer Lemon vinaigrette! Overall, this was a nice experience, minus the hostess being pretentious and far from helpful. I could see returning, but probably not for brunch, as they have a very limited (small) menu for brunch, which isn’t very exciting. But the food was good, venue is as well and service was decent.

Great setting. Delicious food. Local without being obnoxious.

By Troy G |

This is one of the restaurants in a beautifully restored building. Great atmosphere in the restaurant, building, and surrounding area (the Pearl). We have had a few dinners here with our most recent being part of the Sunday Supper Series. Every time the food has been delicious and they do a great job of featuring local ingredients without being obnoxious about it. We will keep this place high on our list for a night out.

Plan here for Supper!

By hr1313 |

In the Pearl area of San Antonio in Hotel Emma. Great drinks...have a selection from movie quotes- cool. Brussel sprout appetizer a foodies dream. All "large frame" selections absolutely prepared to perfection. Service attentive and knowledgable. Comfortable table plaement and mini booths not crowded. Definite go too when in area. We scootered from Riverwalk hotel..about 2 miles. Fun

Outstanding for foodies!

By CT-ref |

2nd best meal I’ve ever had right up there with a Michelin starred NYC restaurant. At far less cost too. Had the fried quail, Brussels sprouts, arugula/shisito pepper salad and beignets for dessert, flavors are inspired without overwhelming.

Delicious!

By kmaloney1990 |

Stopped by on a Saturday night and didn't have to wait for a table for four -- loved the cocktails, food options (we ate family style and loved everything we ordered!) and the restaurant. It has high ceilings but it wasn't too noisy. There is a large party room in the back.

Lovely setting with great food

By janvipd |

I was in San Antonio on business and a colleague brought me here for lunch. Had an amazing smoked salmon, goat cheese and beet salad. Delicious. Beautiful setting and attentive service. Wish I had room for dessert!

One of the Best Meals Ever

By TexasTandE |

We absolutely loved every aspect of our meal at Supper. Whether it was darling Dominick, our server who made us feel like family, to the insanely delicious food and drinks, it was exceptional in every way. Do not miss dining at Supper!

Great food, top notch ambience

By VentureswithVal |

Sat outside on a beautiful evening while the holiday lights twinkled in the trees on the Riverwalk...great food and ambience!! Appetizers: lamb and mushrooms, and the braised brussel sprouts - both were fabulous! I had the warm asparagus sakad with a piece of walleye, a perfect amount of food and not overwhelming as some meals can be. My colleague had the gem salad, another excellent pick. Can’t wait to go back on our next business trip!

Interesting menu with wonderful flavors.

By Joey G |

Enjoyed evening dinner and breakfast at Supper while staying at Hotel Emma. Good idea to have reservations. Service is spot on and great food.

Great food and service!

By vtkaki |

We stayed at hotel Emma this week and had the pleasure of dining at Supper for supper and breakfast. Everything we had was absolutely wonderful! The staff is accommodating and friendly and service is quick! Definitely do not skip the brussel sprouts!

Poor service, average food

By YoureMyButterhalf |

I really don't understand service staff anymore. Do they just expect 20% tip regardless? We sat at the bar to eat because we didn't have a reservation. I asked the bartender for a drink and he doesn't acknowledge me or anything. I am not a pushy bar patron but expect some acknowledgement. He tells the female bartender and she was doing all the work. She was trying to hustle to serve the bar and tables in the bar. He was worthless because he was rude and couldn't carry his own weight. So of course she was slow because she was doing all the work. Beef was over-seasoned on verge of being salty and really tough. We all enjoyed the crostini appetizer. There are so many other places to eat. Don't bother.

Fabulous food in the historic Pearl

By wukovits |

We made reservations for a Wednesday evening and arrived early for a cocktail at the bar. Our table was made ready and we were seated. Appetizers included the Crispy Cauliflower and Sprouts with Caramel Popcorn, Chili Honey and Muzquiz Nuts and Blistered Green Beans and Radish, Sunchokes and Deviled Egg Remoulade; both were quickly gobbled down. Entrees included Whole Grilled Bronzino with Olive Niçoise Salad, Haricot Verts, Roasted Tomatoes Artichokes and Creamy Dill Rice, Maitake Mushroom and Onion Risotto with Crimini, Shiitake, and Sunny Side Up Egg, Roasted Chicken with Spinach Crepe, Mushrooms, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Manchego, and Grilled Striploin of Beef with Gruyère and Scallion Potatoes, Spinach and Horseradish Gremolata. All were delicious with amazing flavors but my personal favorite was the Striploin, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Dessert included the Chocolate Cake with Poached Cherries, Vanilla Gelato, Amaretto Whipped Cream and Candied Almonds and I enjoyed a cup of some of the best coffee I’ve had in some time. The service was second-to-none and the overall experience was top notch, ensuring another visit in our future to Supper.

Chicken-fried quail in green chili gravy with cornbread

By Janet F |

Salad is salad and sandwiches are sandwiches and "bowls" are trendy.... I looked instead for the most unusual thing on the lunch menu and this was it, calories be damned. Wow, it was beautifully presented and delicious, will stick in my mind for a long time. An exceptional dish. Service was exceptional as well.

Fantastic menu

By ourteam4 |

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at! The menu is constantly changing and filled with delicious options. We each got our own salad (watercress with beets and spinach with grilled asparagus), shared a delicious Halibut meal that they split on different plates for us, then we each got our own delicious dessert. The portion sizes are perfect and the presentation impeccable. The wine list (even by the glass) was wonderful. Dominic was a fantastic waiter. I DEFINITELY recommend this gem!

Wonderful Surprise!

By cindyfisher61@yahoo.com |

First time going to Supper for brunch. It was wonderful, pricy but we will go back. Our waitress was Mercedes and she was great! Very nice and knew the food. My husband had the American (Denver) omelette and he said it was very good. I had the French toast. It was more like a soft sponge and almost melted in your mouth and was crispy on the outside. It was the best French toast I have ever eaten. No need for syrup as the crust was sweet. We also has crispy bacon and coffee. A must try!

Perfect for Christmas brunch

By Carron D |

The Pearl is a must-visit, Supper was perfect for brunch on Christmas. The food was great and the service was too.

💙 Perfect Birthday Dinner 💙

By DD Jackson |

I loved everything about this restaurant. The service was first class. The food was so well-seasoned and flavorful. The drink I chose wasn’t quite what I wanted and the bartender crafted something special for me on my second one based on my likes. The honeycomb and sweet potato desert was the perfect blend of textures and sweetness. Again...loved everything about this place and would highly recommend for a night out for friends, families or couples.

Fantastic breakfast

By Michael S |

Truly an outstanding breakfast. I had the scotch egg with a side of millionaires bacon and could not have been happier. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was great. I cannot express enough how great this restaurant was.

Great Location; Excellent Sticky Toffee Pudding!

By LLONEIL |

Stayed at The Emma (fabulous hotel), and this restaurant is in the hotel. Not your average hotel restaurant; very trendy (in the best possible way), very attentive waiters & waitresses (bar staff is terrific), and the food is VERY good. Worth whatever trip you're taking. The Emma is at the end of the River Walk, so if you're out strolling (about 2.5 miles from the Center), you might want to stop and have a drink and dinner before you Uber home....

Enjoyable Upscale Restaurant at the Hotel

By Shawn H |

We had dinner at Supper on our first night at Hotel Emma. The restaurant may not have as interesting an interior design as the hotel as the hotel bar, but it does overlook an inviting outdoor area leading down to the river. The food and service was really good, if not top notch. The menu demonstrates some creativity, while staying within the blueprint of a "new American" hotel restaurant.

Never go back, worst treatment since we didn't fit their usual Clientele profile

By lmisra |

My son and I went for breakfast because we saw the great reviews. But we were tourist, so didn't make any reservation. They said the wait is 45 min to an hour. We waited. In the meantime I noticed that people are leaving and people are coming, getting seated immediately. after about hour and a half when we asked the front desk about it, realized they haven't written our names on the list because we didn't fit their clientele profile. and they suggested we sit in front of the kitchen. We were so hungry we agreed to it, ate breakfast looking at the dirty kitchen and meal prep. The front desk people were trained to treat people differently. I never felt so bad.

Lunch with the ladies

From the shareable appetizers, delicious meals and new favorite cocktail ! Incredible waitress, Jessica, I’m not sure how this meal could have been better. Reservations are hard to come by - the facility is immaculate and appointed so beautiful. The menu is worth trying to steal someone else’s reservation - not kidding .

Extraordinary, Eclectic and Excellent!!!

Wow, talk about an amazing restaurant!! Fantastic service, great looking restaurant and more importantly the food was simply off the charts delicious!!! One of the BEST restaurants in San Antonio! Thanks again! The Williams family

We dined here around 6:00 on a Thursday night. It was not terribly crowded despite the Pearl District being jammed with people. Although they boast a great wine list, we did not have wine. I had the flank steak which was cooked well but was a bit tougher than I expected (acknowledging that flank steak is a sinewy cut). The $28 price point seemed about average, but it came with no sides only some potato and green leaf garnish. My wife had the scallops, but $32 seemed a bit pricey for 4 medium sized scallops. Service was good and our server was friendly and attentive (of course he only had two seated tables in his section). I’d recommend Southerleigh’s over Supper for the same price.

AMAZING!

By Martyjojo |

We were staying in Hotel Emma, which Supper is attached to. I don’t normally tend to eat in the hotel restaurants but so glad we did here. This place is lovely, design all in keeping with the historic hotel, and food innovative and very tasty. We started off by sharing the Brussel sprouts and cauliflower with caramelised popcorn, so wrong but so right! Then my husband took the crispy quail with corn and I had the Bronzino fish with grains. All food stunning. Our waiter was fantastic, Sauvignon Blanc recommendation from Napa lovely as well as good chat. We really enjoyed our evening here. Highly recommend.

Birthday Dinner

By Immyness |

Greeted with a smile and promptly seated, our entire evening was upbeat and delightful. We booked the restaurant to celebrate our daughter’s 26th birthday and were not disappointed. Our party of 8 found a little something for everyone, including our other children - two high school boys and a 10 year old boy. Victoria, our server, offered insight of the dishes, was accommodating and extremely friendly in helping the the boys find the right dish, and kept the flow of our evening at a comfortable pace. Before our meal, we ordered an aromatic Spanish gin and tonic and the Brussel Sprouts and Cauliflower appetizer. The flavors were pleasing all around. I especially enjoyed the spicy and sweet combination of the appetizer. For my main course I selected the trout which was perfectly cooked and balanced. The dish was light yet filling. Between the rest of the table, we ordered 6 of the 8 entrees (see pics of all except the Confit of Duck). The flavor profile was simple yet boasted Sophia depth. I completed my dish with the Sticky Toffee Pudding. The dessert was good and had a twist of sangria sorbet on a brandy snap and dapper of goat cheese. The salty, savory combination rounded out the entire meal nicely.

Missed the mark

By Karen B |

I treated a dear friend to a birthday treat at this lovely restaurant in the beautiful Pearl complex. We sat outside, had great service and they Evan gave us complimentary champagne for the birthday. I was looking forward to a marvelous dinner. We both got the Mediterranean Bronzino with Warm Niçoise Vegetables. It was $26 which I expected for a white tablecloth place in the trendy Pearl. There is no salad, no bread, just what you ordered. The fish was very tiny - probably about 3 ounces. It was not very fresh. I have cooked better with grocery store fish. Disappointing. We did split a dessert and they brought it with a candle which was nice. We each had a glass of wine. Just a major disappointment for a $100 final bill. Hopefully other menu items are better.

Special Occassion even more Special

By shbedo |

Our family celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary for my parents-in-law at Supper, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Matt was our server and took excellent care of us the entire night. Nathaniel was the manager on duty and magically brought forth a delicious celebratory cake to go with their original wedding cake topper. The food surpassed expectations, as always. This is our go-to special occasion restaurant, and we’ve always loved Supper, but tonight I am even more appreciative of their efforts to ensure our family had a night to remember.

excelent restaurant

By Aurelio L L |

very good food, excellent service and atmosphere. this restaurant is located within the pearl area which used to be a brewery and the decoration is maintaining this concept. the restaurant itself is located withing the hotel

Great Ambiance

By Michelle G |

Wonderful food and dinner service inside the beautiful setting of Hotel Emma in the Pearl Brewery District of San Antonio. Be sure to make reservations to avoid a wait on busy weekends. Great and constantly evolving " farm to table" menu selections. Like so many eateries these days, a bit loud when the place is crowded at dinner.

Amazing dinner

By Dana S |

Was overwhelmed by this restaurant in such a special spot - former Pearl brewery. Great bar with creative utilization of former parts of the brewery. The food and service in Supper were exceptional. Hope to return to this special place often.

Delightful

By treasurecoastFL |

Arrived for a late lunch on a warm and sunny spring day! Warmly greeted, we had opted to make a reservation to ensure a table (but there were a few open tables). Our server was young but knowledgeable and started us on a delicious white wine. I opted for the pastrami sandwich, served with a fried egg. The soup of the day looked fantastic. After most of the serving was completed, the open air kitchen was roasting herbs on the hearth. Took some time to poke around the adjacent hotel - Emma. Great place, so glad we made it a point to eat there!

An absolute treat in great surroundings

By AnnTravelsALot |

Despite having to drive from the riverwalk, this was the perfect brunch. We had lattes (mine with Oatmilk) and I had a perfect French omelette with side salad. My husband had the same omelet with a side of bacon, and potatoes. They were the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had. We were tempted by the steak frites - they have a diverse brunch menu. I’d previously been here for dinner. I can honestly recommend both. Definitely worth a visit.

Happy sunrise.

By 1travel@atime |

My friend and I came across Supper when we got off the riverboat and needed refuge from San Antonio's humidity. Danyale was our server, she was fantastic! She answered all our questions to include taking a picture of a maple syrup bottle! The meal was amazing! From appetizer to main meal we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today and would happily return!!

Great food, wonderful service!

By deborah |

This place was such a great dinning experience. The food was fabulous, but more fabulous than the food was our server Paul Tulley. We have traveled from the Dallas area to the east coast and to the west coast and many places in between. But Paul’s service was above and beyond, an absolute delight. If you are ever in San Antonio I would highly recommend this restaurant and do yourself a favor and as for Paul!

Great breakfast

By Adam S |

We really enjoyed the breakfast. We had the duck sausage, pancakes, and poached eggs. Everything was delicious.

RATED TOP 10 IN SA ??!!!!!

By foodie |

No issues with reservations and seating. We ordered one of the vegetable dishes, roasted cauliflower with browned butter, waitress brought us a roasted cauliflower with too much balsamic and sweet popcorn !!! After 3 bites my mouth was overwhelmed and also realized that wasn't what we ordered. They brought us the right cauliflower dish and it was ok. We also ordered 2 main dishes, the Lamb Shank and Lemonfish. Both were terrible !!! Lamb was probably cooked the night before or early morning, it tasted old and reheated (I've made lamb shanks before at home and love that dish, should be more tender when fresh) My wife's Lemonfish wasn't very good and had a White Lima bean puree that was incredibly "supper" salty ....inedible !! Totally overrated and overpriced !!! I don't think I will be going back.

Long Weekend travel

By dwodebit |

Vacation Travel.... My wife and I are celebrating our youngest daughter heading off to college. Back home in Council Bluffs IA... everyone said go to the river walk... but when we got to San Antonio... the locals said go to the Pearl District, and specifically go to Supper restaurant. The restaurant and the meal was excellent! The restaurant’s ambiance was eclectic industrial (retasked industrial fixtures and contemporary touches). We were dressed casual from a busy day, but felt comfortable next to more formally dressed patrons. The food was excellent and priced appropriately for the quality and service we received. Wesley, our waiter, was attentive and provided excellent recommendations when asked. We highly recommend the quail!

Breakfast at Supper

By Steven E |

We had a wonderful breakfast at Supper during our stay at the Hotel Emma. Service from Mercedes was excellent. Great food!

Casual with excellence

By KevntheDekker |

Excellent experience! Casual atmosphere but 5 star food. The soup seemed homemade but with a deft chefs hand. The grilled cheese was warmly familiar but with an added surprise of apple butter. It was home but on another level. Dana was an amazing server. She added to our trip by offering local experiences. When in SA, don’t miss this place. It’s a MUST STOP IN!

Great food

By TahoeScout |

Surprisingly great food (breakfast, no less) and charming staff. An exception to the usual bland hotel breakfast.

Father’s Day brunch with our new daddy

By beargoad |

We had brunch here and it was delicious. I had a fruit bowl and the halibut. The fish was cooked to perfection. The parsnip purée was incredible. Hubby had the French omelet. He said it was really good. The fried green tomatoes are the best thing that we tried! The fresh salad with Meyer lemon dressing was awesome.

Food and Service is Par Excellence!!!

By Buddhist |

On Christmas Day, we dined at Supper American Eatery (located in the premise of Hotel Emma) for Brunch and were more than impressed with the ambience, the food quality and ABOVE ALL the service rendered to my family (My wife, daughter and my in laws) by a very special human being....her name is Jacquelyn L. From the moment we were seated by the hostess to the moment Jacquelyn arrived at our table to introduce herself as our server for the day, we had no idea that we were truly about to experience a Beautiful Christmas gift in the form of Jacquelyn's service! When I normally write a review, I focus on the food quality and the ambience of the subject of my review. In this review, I am primarily focusing more on the human aspect of this wonderful restaurant because that's how deep an impression was made on our entire family by this just one lovely person, Jacquelyn! She was amazingly upbeat, positive, caring and sincere. She gave great recommendations when asked, she was detailed and made sure everyone was satisfied with what was ordered. She went out of her way to ensure our dining experience was a very pleasant one! The food quality here is fantastic, the overall atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable. The location of the restaurant in Hotel Emma-which in itself is quite a landmark with a beautifully accented lobby with furnishings and artifacts. It's a must see when you visit San Antonio! My message to the owner of the Hotel Emma and to the Management of The Supper Restaurant is...….I applaud you for offering an outstanding product but most of all, staffing it with someone as Brilliant as, Jacquelyn! We had a great time, if you could tell by reading this review, and will most likely return especially if are Blessed to see Jacquelyn again! We wish her much success and lots of happiness in her life and her future endeavors. Please pass on our appreciation to her and the rest of the staff, both front and back of the house for doing an absolute outstanding job! Well done, Thank you and God Bless! Warm regards, Sai

Breakfast with friends

By Amyandshaun |

We went for breakfast with friends on a Friday. They weren’t to busy and we were seated right away. I had the Smoked Norwegian Salmon and a bagel with cream cheese. It was so good! Our waiter was great and happily explained different items on the menu. I will say skip the Bloody Mary... unless you like a very strong cucumber flavor.

Great New Years Dinner with Family

By Adventurer730809 |

this has become a tradition - taking the family to dinner on new years eve to Supper. I always have the same thing - the fried smoked quail - absolutely the best!! A great night was had by all!

Flavorful

By Ken M |

The fried green tomatoes and dove are excellent. This is just the kind of restaurant we like—creatively-paired tastes. Nice setting and not too expensive, considering the wonderful food.

Such a Let-down

By Charles C |

We have visited San Antonio for many years. Among one of our favorite places to stop for breakfast was Supper. However, after a couple of attempts to eat there recently, we have been greatly disappointed. The food, along with its presentation, has been what you would expect from a Denny’s or low-end restaurant. The garnishing appeared to be several days or weeks old, and slopingly tossed on a plate. We have tried to bring this to the attention of the Manager, and he simply nods his head and nothing changes. The restaurant is almost a ghost town. Such a great let-down from prior years.

Lovely restaurant

By TravelinJabbo |

We ate here twice during our stay at Hotel Emma. What a great restaurant! The menu was imaginative, and the food was wonderful from drinks (in particular the clear old fashioned!), appetizers, mains and desserts. When we stay in hotels, we often see out interesting restaurants elsewhere in the city...but at Hotel Emma there is not much point in leaving the property!

Unforgettable Anniversary Dinner

By Adventurer730809 |

We normally visit with the whole family. this time it was just us to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was marvelous as always. Had a nice quite dinner with my wife.

Just Good Food

By 927donaldv |

We had such a wonderful time at this hotel. To find this wonderful restaurant in it was a true bonus. Our server Victor Borgas was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We had wonderful meals while staying at The Emma.

Amazing

The shuttle driver told us about this place for breakfast...got there too late but had an amazing lunch. It was reasonably priced and a great value. I had one of the salads and it was very good. Sis had a sandwich and it was very good.

Great patio, food and service in the Pearl District

By Susan S |

The food and the service was fabulous. Especially loved the Pearl location along the river. The entire Pearl area is a fun and lively.

Fabulous lunch

By Scott H |

We ate lunch here Monday and the food was outstanding. We had The Brussel sprouts and cauliflower appetizer. The flavors and texture with the popcorn was amazing. Also ate the chicken soup which was tender and delicious. Then ate the fried green tomato sandwich with pimento cream cheese. This was incredible. Great combination of flavors. Definitely recommend supper for lunch. The service was good and the total was $30 for two of us for lunch, which is reasonable

Fantastic service and food, but ridiculously loud atmosphere

By Anne C |

This restaurant would have five stars hands-down if it weren't for the extremely loud dining room. We started in the dining room last night and it was so unpleasantly loud we asked to be moved to the patio, even though it was about 95 degrees and 98 percent humidity. The waitstaff is outstanding - friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. The food is unfailingly delicious and it's easy to get a gluten free or dairy free meal without any problem. The menu is full of inventive flavors. The wine list is short but good. Loved the sparkling rose (gorgeous color as well as a nicely balanced flavor).

Excellent Farm to Table meal!

By LynetteWicks |

This awesome restaurant is located inside of Hotel Emma at the amazing Pearl Brewery District. Fantastic decor, attentive waiter, delicious food, great cocktails and wine. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal with my family and would absolutely return and recommend. The Cheese & Chocolate for dessert is to die for!

Reviews are a little bit better than I think it deserves

By Robert G |

This is in one of the hottest hotels in San Antonio which is in the hot hip area of the city. The decor, service, bar are as good as one would hope for but the food was only average. My dish was overcooked and frankly not very attractive but it was tasty and pricey. I will only go again if a group of friends insists they want to go here. There is another restaurant in the same hotel that I love.

I don’t think a summary is needed. It was just awe full. Back to Mon Chou Chou tonight.

By Poodlemom21 |

The Christmas Eve special yesterday was a roast crown of pork with mashed potatoes. I was presented with a few pieces of pork which looked like small pale spam. No bone, no spice at all much less the little white pantys that usually come at the end of the rib. My poodles weren’t too impressed when I brought it home. If the dish wasn’t ready yet or chef had recently died it would have been nice if I had been advised to make another selection. This was the special! I know Supper prides itself on locally sourced food. A blt sourced from H‑E‑B would have been a gift. Not to mention that the cost of the “special” with one glass of wine was $128. Added the tip because it wasn’t her fault. We eat at Mon Chou Chou at least 3 times a week. Always happy. My husband had 2 country clubs and restaurants. I eat out at nice restaurants up and down Broadway every week. Management at Bistro even know my seating preference. Coffee is great at Supper and omelettes are too. Jan Perrault We stay at Emma a few times a year. What happened to this restaurant? I believe I’ve only put one other thumbs down on Trip advisor in my life. Sorry it had to be Christmas Eve which had been recommended. .

A few misses, but worth a visit

By Alan G |

Our 7th or eighth visit to Supper, either as hotel guests or just diners. Went early because of a concert downtown. Service was great as usual, ambience very good. Food very mixed. One salad over peppered to an extreme, one (spinach) excellent. Lamb stew entree a disappointment, with almost no lamb, numerous bone and cartilage fragments, a watery sauce and soggy vegetables. Steak entree was good and dessert was excellent. On balance, not up to previous visits. Still love the place (Emma) and if you’re staying there, give it a try. Not sure I’d choose it as a local. So many other choices available.

Open on Christmas day when few restaurants were

By Cynthia U |

the food was pretty good, the beer was excellent and the hotel is lovely. anticipating a problem for Christmas day dining i blocked in Dallas early in the week which was necessary with so few options for Christmas day. somewhat hard to find but it is part of the Pearl mall.

A Trip for your Tastebuds

By Sherrie M |

We were visiting from Houston. We were told to go to Supper. I had the roasted breast of chicken. So beautifully prepared. Every bite was a taste experience. I would eat here every week if I lived in San Antonio.

A Pearl gem!

By Marge D |

Decided to try the breakfast at Supper on a cool summer morning. We sat outside and enjoyed the view while dining. The service and food were great - breakfast sandwich and beignets appetizer.

What a perfect lunch!

By AliceOP |

Many thanks to Supper for a beautiful lunch! The patio was perfect and a great spot for people watching. Our server, Gabby, could not have been more welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. The smoked salmon and goat cheese sandwich was delicious and plated artfully. It was a gorgeous day in San Antonio, and Supper made it even better!

Very disappointing........

By Mark M |

After losing my reservation, they find a table - no apology! Then we get rushed through our meal - 3 courses in less than an hour!! Food is barely average and the wine list is underwhelming and grossly overpriced!!! ( a sancerre should NEVER be sweet).

Lovely Food and View of the River

By YorbaLindaStar |

I was traveling for business and stayed at the Hotel Emma. It was easy to eat at the hotel, and I was glad that I chose Supper. I began with the toasted cauliflower and brussel sprouts, caramel popcorn ad peanuts (delicious but to be shared.....it was too much for one). I also chose the Kaffir lime and green curry coconut soup with crab salad which was just delicious. The food is delicious and it's a lovely setting. It is very expensive so I would recommend it mainly as a special occasion restaurant. My service was first rate, so I can recommend it highly.

A culinary experience not soon forgotten

We ate here not once but twice during our visit over Thanksgiving weekend...amazing food and staff...loved both meals and can not wait for our next Texas staycation.

Delicious!

By Jennifer Whitney |

4th time here - always excellent! The breakfast is great!! Last night we tried dinner / half chicken and filet are both wow!!!! Love the vibe at hotel Emma too! Recommend sitting outside at supper if weather is nice.

Delicious food

By Tom C |

We were seated outside in mid-May. The weather was mildly humid but not oppressive. We were very comfortable with our table overlooking the river. The food was delicious. We will return.

It’s fun food meets comfort food meets creative food

By Tootsielala55 |

Delicious food well presented with an eye to creativity as well as presentation. I had a warm grain salad with salmon and frankly after the first bite wasn’t sure if I wanted to dive into the bowl and eat my way through, make love to it or just inhale the meal in one breath, arguably the best prepared salmon ever. The hot chocolate is divine and well worth the calories. If you have to wait a bit, first, it is worth it but the bartenders are terrific. While producing wonderful cocktails they have a knack of making each person feel like they are the most important. Portions are excellent, service superb and food is worth it all! Oh, and if you aren’t sure, ask. Always too many choices for me, servers have never led anyone wrong!

Breakfast and dinner worthy of a five-star hotel

By Taylor B |

In recent years, my wife and I have come to realize that many hotels have made every effort to improve the quality of their in-house restaurants to satisfy visitors who prefer a more convenient destination for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Hotel Emma in San Antonio, Texas, is one of those. It is a five-star hotel with all the perks. Its Super restaurant offers breakfast and dinner from 7 to 10 Sunday through Thursday and 7 to 11 on Friday and Saturday. During our visit, we sampled both. For breakfast, we had warm sticky cinnamon buns, Eggs Benedict with two poached eggs, English muffin, smoked bacon and hollandaise sauce and golden French toast with caramelized brioche, vanilla bean creme anglaise and hot smoked bacon. A good way to start a full day of sightseeing. For dinner, we started with marinated olives, pimento cheese with benne seed crackers and red pepper jelly and local kale Caesar salad with sourdough croutons and parmigiano reggiano. For her entree, my wife chose a bone-in Berkshire pork chop with sweet corn. I opted for a New York strip steak with red wine bordelaise and buttery mashed potatoes. For dessert, we shared sticky toffee pudding with banana and toffee sauce and burnt sugar panna cotta with German bee sting cake, almonds, white chocolate honeycomb and vanilla ice cream. You expect the best at a five-star hotel...food, service and atmosphere...and you get it at Hotel Emma.

Pass on Supper

By Danielle B |

Although my dining experience was unexpected, I would like to provide some feedback. I found the wait staff's service lacking warmth and attentiveness. Additionally, the dish I ordered, the duck with greens, did not meet my expectations as the greens were soggy, wilted and the Duck lacking on the plate. For the price go to the boiler room.

Comfort food with a gourmet twist

By qroojen |

The service and food here are exceptional. Everything that I've eaten here has been beautifully prepared, but especially the roasted vegetables and fried quail. The lunch menu is different than the dinner menu, and they have an excellent wine selection. It is a beautiful setting at Hotel Emma at the Pearl and next to the Riverwalk. I have eaten here on three occasions and have been wowed every time.

New items added monthly

By Ann C |

We sat at the counter near the kitchen. They offered us to sample fried tomatoes and they were delicious. We had a unique recipe with Brussel sprouts which were spicy and delicious too. The sandwiches we had were tasty and fresh all employees were welcoming and friendly, making sure we were happy with the service and food. I’d recommend this restaurant if you’re in town!

Cheerful Evening

By Kaje20 |

No Sunday night scaries at this bar. The bartenders were friendly and engaged the entire bar in conversation. So much fun chatting, drinking and eating with locals and travelers. We left the place with lots of new friends! Beautiful atmosphere indoors and out in the stunning Hotel Emma.

Delicious seafood

By Safa S |

We had dinner here last. We had the Mediterranean sea bass (bronzini) and cod. Also had the kale and pepper appetizer. Both were delicious and excellently prepared and fresh. Service was excellent. We did have about a 30 minute wait. Excellent for couples.

Sit outside and enjoy the riverwalk

By chicago90Phoenix |

As part of your Hotel Emma experience, it wouldn't be complete without wandering down the hall and enjoying this classic looking restaurant with the beautiful lighting fixtures or sit outside on the patio and enjoy the view of the river and people watching to/from the riverwalk. Had a burger with a sunny side egg on it!

Superior supping

By Tansyll |

Our son strongly recommended we stay at the historic and elegant Hotel Emma. After a very long day of travel we decided to eat at Supper. The food was simply superior and the waiter provided excellent advice. The small plate of lamb bolognese and a spinach salad with a fried egg...just right to nourish us and very savory. It is a place that we draw you back.

It is a fine restaurant; it is not spectacular though...

By TravelerTrecker |

This is the restaurant of the Ema Hotel. Service was good for dinner. Poor for breakfast. Food for dinner was very good quality but I would say that it was no exceptional. We asked for three prime New York strips; meat was very tender however, no spectacular, it was somewhat dry. The restaurant is very expensive. Dinner may cost 100 dollars per person and breakfast 30 dollars per person. Breakfast is mediocre. It is better to cook omelets at home.

Pass....

By karin23320 |

Came here looking for a special dinner. Quite expensive for the portion sizes. Ordered the burger- $20 for 2 thin patties (stacked, odd) and you had to pay an extra $4 for fries instead of potato chips. Just ok flavor, cooked too well as they were thin. Chicken tortilla soup presented pretty- but really no flavor- and $12. You pay $7 for bread. Not returning as just ok and $$$ for the portions.

Some good ideas, poorly executed.

By Carmen P |

In this largely empty restaurant We were seated for 15 minutes before the waitress appeared or anyone even poured water on a very warm day. The water that was poured was warm and we asked for ice. It was another 10 minutes before a half glass of melting crushed ice was brought, after we were served our shared appetizer. The appetizer, a combination of cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, peanuts and popcorn was excellent. Next we had a salad with spinach, ginger (heavily candied), bland cheese and a sweet dressing. The dish has potential but is far too sweet. My husband had halibut and I had branzino with blistered green beans. neither dish was hot. The beans were old and only 2or 3were blistered. Of course it then took forever for the check to come. Finally we went to the hostess to get it dealt with. The wine list is decent.

Breakfast and lunch delicious

By boughnerdeb |

Staying in the Hotel Emma, we used Supper as our breakfast location. Food fresh and yummy. Richard our server was fantastic and attentive. The oatmeal is like none I’ve ever had and the avocado toast delicious. Lunch equally good. Try the Brussel sprouts and the ginger lemonade.

One of the best meals/experiences of my life.

By GeorgiaGirl40 |

In San Antonio recently for a trade show, a friend took me to dinner here for my birthday. Every single thing about Supper blew us away. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes and the bartenders were super attentive, and just the right mix of hip and approachable. Ask Cameron for her special, the Rendezvous - she can make it without/with alcohol. Delicious. Our server was Lauren, and we suspect she will soon become general manager of the restaurant, if not the entire (attached) hotel. She told us so many amazing stories about the history of the restaurant and the hotel; I actually went on Amazon while sitting at the table and bought a book about the property because her stories were so compelling. Her manners and style were kind, open, and flawless, she was knowledgeable about the menu and made suggestions that improved our experience, and she was super engaging and fun to talk with. The service is EXCEPTIONAL. Lauren and team were always there, even when we didn't even realize it (how did my water get refilled again - I never saw anyone!). The food. THE FOOD. We started with roasted Brussels sprouts, which were salty crunchy deliciousness. I had the spinach/radicchio salad with white cheddar and walnuts and it was the perfect pairing of savory and earthy. My friend tried the beet salad and almost licked his plate. After that we ordered the bronzino and the roasted chicken. The fish was light and flaky and had a perfect sear to the skin, while my chicken was shockingly juicy and almost fell apart on my fork. The sides and pairings were unexpected and everything together created a wonderful dinner. For dessert (don't ever skip dessert at a place like Supper), I had the sticky toffee pudding - easily the best this side of London and OMG the house-make toffee wafer on top!!! - and my friend had a chocolate cake with orange marmalade. Again, perfection. I ate every single bite. Following Lauren's suggestions and recommendations, we spent time exploring the hotel lobby and taking in the cool history of the site (WHY wasn't the library open?!?). Don't miss a post-dinner drink in the hotel bar, easily one of the coolest places I've ever seen. Overall, 5 stars. Wish I could give 10 stars. This was an unexpected surprise and I'll be talking about the service and food at Supper for a long, long time.

One of my favorite restaurants in the world!

By Janet C |

This restaurant is amazing. Not only is it part of the fabulous Hotel Emma, which is a Top 10 hotel of the world, but it always surprises me. Friendly staff and service, you won't be disappointed in the choices at this great restaurant. I have had breakfast, brunch and dinner here several times and it never disappoints. The rib eye steak is amazing. The breakfast/brunch frittata is worth a look as are the pancakes Great salads too. Have a craft cocktail - Three Emmas. It's a gin concoction with some sort of floral syrup. Delicious. Go! You won't be disappointed.

A great dining experience in The Pearl

By Michael C |

Had a few cocktails in the hotel Emma and then went next door to Supper. Very happy that we did!!! The drinks at the bar before dinner were great, great service and attention from the staff. The three of us sat at the "Chef's Counter" and it was the best place to be! We had the meatballs for an appetizer with the grilled bread with a pesto and bacon topping! I had a ribeye and it was to perfection, the ladies had the halibut and said it was terrific, with a side of roasted cauliflower and brussel sprouts. Yum!!! Accompanied with a Pinot noir. The service was beyond par!!! Thanks to Lucia our server and Ryan our man behind the counter!!! Excellent service!!!

unique setting and amazing food

By SMOKESTACK |

We had an amazing dinner here from service to the food. Every dish we had was spectacular - the brussel sprouts with vinegar, carrot ginger soup, grilled peppers with kale chips, lamb stew and fried crispy quail were all outstanding. There are few great vegetarian dishes here according to my wife and she loved the sticky toffee banana pudding with roasted banana ice cream. This hotel is like nothing I've ever seen which makes for a great way to end the dinner - a prohibition era brewery converted into an incredible hotel with unbelievable style and ambiance. It's dark and ominous but with a lot of style! Words don't it justice. I wish we had stayed there instead of staying downtown.

Great food, great atmosphere

By David P |

Stopped in for lunch. Burger was great, great service. Atmosphere was good. Highly recommended. Deserts are good. Also a great place for a date night.

Amazing place to dine

By ClintR_68 |

This place is a great start to explore the Pearl precinct. Elegant, with a beautiful outlook to landscaped gardens. Service was prompt and efficient and the menu really good without being great (ie, why does bacon need to be soaked in maple syrup and the juice be so sweet?). But overall, a lovely breakfast destination in a really cool area of San Antonio.

Sooo Yummy!!

By NikkiU |

This place is just cool and trendy and the food is delicious! It is attached to a swanky hotel which is unique and contributes to the inviting atmosphere. I had Brussel sprouts that were utterly amazing (highly recommended). If you are looking for a "different" experience, uniquely San Antonio Riverwalk, this is the place. I would highly recommend eating here on a date, anniversary, or maybe a girl's night out. I WOULD say, leave the kids at home. The menu isn't one that lends itself to chicken tenders and mac and cheese and I am fairly certain they don't have coloring sheets! So be sure to treat yourself to an adult only evening of goof food and fantastic atmosphere!

Great even for vegans

By FlyWithKids |

Great menu even for vegans! We were a party of nine and every single person loved what they ordered. The quality of food was excellent. The staff was very professional and curious. Service was pretty flawless. Beat part was the complimentary and surprise birthday champagne toast (better than cake!)!

Hotel Restaurant Experience

By JBentraveler |

Most hotel restaurants are good, but not special. At the Emma, Supper does it right. The ambience is very nice, relaxing and casual classy. The menu, service and prices are all very good. We started with Lauren's recommendation of fried tomato and the gnocchi. Both were excellent, but I would have liked more gnocchi in the dish. For entrees, we ordered the bronzini, 2 vegetable dish and a saba. The fish was very good as were the grilled vegetables. We ordered the mousse and beignets for desert. The mousse was excellent, but the beignets were nothing like we have had in New Orleans. They were too crunchy and hard. Lauren provided very good service and this a nice place for any occasion. The Pearl is a must see stop while in San Antonio.

Dinner Delight at the Pearl

By GoodToGoinNJ |

On the last evening of our week visit to Austin and San Antonio we had the good fortune to visit Supper in the Hotel Emma at the Pearl. The Pearl experience in not to be missed; it’s worth the car or Uber ride, as it is quite a contrast from the touristy River Walk area. The Hotel itself is quite impressive as many industrial features remain in tact and provide for quite an interesting if somewhat humbling atmosphere. At Supper, on what was a comfortable evening, we decided to eat outside which provided a glimpse of the San Antonio River. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter with whom we shared a similar heritage, and who provided professional and attentive service throughout the evening. We started with some fine Pinot Noir and craft beer that later accompanied a number of lighter plates that we shared. The restaurant emphasizes farm to table freshness that was evident in our dishes. We found the delicious broccolini with cannellini bean hummus and pesto and the salt and vinegar brussel sprouts to be well sized and taste sensations. This was followed by a complex salad that included beets, avocado radicchio and a unique burnt yogurt dressing (my wife loved this I found it very different and not one of my favorites). Overall this was a terrific and fairly priced dinner in the one of the best atmospheres you will find. We highly recommend a visit to Supper and the Pearl.

Very nice breakfast

I ate here on a Sunday morning while staying at the Hotel Emma. I ordered the Powdered Sugar Beignets with Fruit Preserves and a coffee. It was delicious. The service was outstanding. I sat on the patio overlooking the San Antonio River. Supper is an excellent place for Sunday brunch.

Wow!!!

Food and service was amazing. Cozy and elegant at the same time. Food was creative and well prepared - I had the Trout and others had the Quail and steak - all were fantastic. Even the bathroom was amazing - seriously, just beautiful.

Another gem at the Pearl.

Service is the thing that will make Supper a new favorite. From start to finish it was the constant that stood out. The primary example was the slight displeasure on my wife face when the waiter asked about her steak. Another steak was on it way immediately. Turns out that the cut of meat was never going to satisfy at any temperature. The rest of the meal was good and sometimes great. Salads and desert were the highlights. Atmosphere was perfect with the natural light and low ambient sounds. This will make deciding where to eat at the Pearl that much harder.

Great upscale atmosphere!

I enjoy the restaurant for the atmosphere more than the food. The decor is wonderful, as is the beautiful Hotel Emma. The limited menu is a bit tedious and I struggled to find something I liked. Some of the dishes are spicy - with no mention of heat on the description. That’s one of my pet peeves. The menu does change with the seasons, which is nice. I do recommend the restaurant in spite of the few issues we had.

In the Pearl/Emma Hotel Area

By vaughanm1976 |

Part of the repurposed Pearl Brewery property, Supper is located in the main building of the brewery. It is accessible from the lobby of the Emma Hotel or via an exterior entrance. Free parking or valet parking are both available. My family had breakfast here during the Thanksgiving week. Service and food were excellent. New twists on old favorites.

Delish!!

Every dish was excellent! The portions are just right. Unique cocktail, seafood dishes, and wonderful steak. The desserts were amazing too! Service was perfect!

Superb Meal and Service!

By Carlos F |

It was our first time at Supper and we were delighted. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection, with several layers of flavor. We had gem lettuce salads with cornbread streusel, parmesan and tarragon vinaigrette. Very tasty. Then we had the lamb shank with herbs. It was succulent and had many flavors to entertain your pallet. It is probably the best American style gourmet meal we have had anywhere. Service was top notch. Lauren was our server and she did great. There was also someone that helped us with our wine, very attentive staff to our needs. The wine list is solid. The atmosphere was casual elegant. The table setting was classic with a textured white cotton table cloth. I definitely appreciate attention to detail. It is a great indicator on what is yet to come. Thank you for a great evening!

Not up to our expectations

My husband and I have travelled all over the world and yet we always look forward to our trips to San Antonio to visit family and remember when we used to live there. We treated ourselves to a stay at the Hotel Emma recently and were in need of a place for an early dinner. We didn't have a reservation and found the service professional but aloof. Our entrees were serviceable and, although quite small, tasty. We won't be going back to Supper as there are so many lovely, more welcoming restaurants in this charming town.

Superb

Wow!!! Supper was superb! Paul and Mercedes made us feel like family. The food was amazing. The service was out of this world. We had French toast and Mercedes famous coffee. Both are among the best I have had in my life. Paul and Mercedes serve in the way customers should be treated and they will be the reason we come back for more.

MAKE A RESERVATION. . . Or be okay with sitting at the bar!

By Alicia O |

First off, when a girlfriend and I decided to eat here, neither of us realized that it was tied in to a hotel (which is absolutely stunning by the way!). When we got there, she instantly asked us if we had a reservation, which we did not and she then said that it there wasn't any openings and that we could sit at the bar, which is full service. So we ended up doing that which was perfect anyway but if you go with a group of people or kids I would definitely call ahead! Food was superb, service was extremely friendly and courteous. Will definitely go out of my way to eat here next time I visit San Antonio.

Not as good as our prior visits

By maxwell1323 |

This was the third time we had lunch at Supper. They did not update the menu online so we were ready to order things that were no longer available. Very disappointing. The salmon sandwich tasted good but the salmon portion was very skimpy, mostly tomatoes and cucumber. The $3 extra for avocado on the hamburger got you a smear. Seafood plate was very tasty but the portion was very small. Service was attentive and the setting is relaxed. Can get a bit noisy.

Amazing breakfast 🍳

By Tina G |

We had an amazing food experience! Everything was spot on. I had the option of gluten-free bread so that made the breakfast complete. The cottage cheese pancakes are to die for and that lemon zest just kicks it up a notch! Hands-down, this is a great experience When it comes to the food and the service! Does not disappoint.

Great food, great atmosphere, incredible staff.

The restaurant has a nice well rounded menu. If your with a group everyone should be able to find something they like. The staff is very friendly and attentive without being too invasive. Nice wine list as well.

Cozy dining place

By hvu2000 |

It’s a celebration of my wife’s early birthday luncheon with the family, and it’s also our 1st time to visit the Pearl district in San Antonio. It’s quite an elegant and a small restaurant with a bar with glass windows all around. The foods and service are excellent. Highly recommended.

Tried breakfast, brunch, and dinner here

By fbglove |

We stayed at the wonderful Hotel Emma and dined many times at Supper. Very good crispy quail for dinner, good duck confit salad for brunch, and average eggs benedict for breakfast (because the hollandaise sauce was bland... it needed lemon). Very good, friendly service.

Great food- Great service!

A lovely restaurant with inside and outside seating. Since it is on the River Walk, the views are lovely. The prices are moderate and the food very good.

Nice place to have a drink but bring your wallet

By JRC24 |

After a long day in the downtown river walk area. We decided to take a river shuttle up to the Pearl Brewery area and made a stop at the Emma Hotel. We had a couple of drinks at the Super Bar and really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and outdoor seating at this location. This is a very up-scale location that offers a relaxing environment with ultra high-end spirits and cocktails. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing quiet location with great views of the river and sunset...

Nice lunch spot

By Noel78 |

On a Friday afternoon, we walked in without reservations looking for a nice lunch spot. Fortunately, the noise level of the room was conversation-level friendly at the time of our visit. We ordered three plates: Brussels sprouts and popcorn dish; sweet pea falafel; and salad-protein bowl. Drinks: lemonade (too sweet) and carrot ginger lemonade (perfect). All three dishes were good, but not over-the-top wonderful. The Brussels sprouts were a bit too greasy, and the salad needed a bit more sauce. The falafel dish (including its presentation) was the most appealing and spot on. The waitress never smiled once; I am sorry she was having a bad day. It happens. If I lived in the area, I would try Supper again. Its location in convenient in the historic Hotel Emma, and there is free parking.

Amazing breakfast and dinner!

The outstanding chef at Supper has put together a unique menu that is still attainable for everyone. Great food and service in an upscale yet relaxed setting. No need to dress up. Try the scotch egg - an amazing feat and combination of flavors!

go to see the hotel

it is a small restaurant attached to a fabulous hotel with a very small menu with very small portions, it is on the river walk a bit but not a very interesting part, service was fine, for brunch.

Delish!

By LKDunn |

We were staying at the Hotel Emma and couldn't wait to try Supper after reading all the great reviews. We were not disappointed. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and looks like it is always very busy and bustling. Our server, Megan, was fabulous! She not only had great menu recs but also spent a lot of time answering our questions about things to do in San Antonio. The food was incredible (try the quail!) with an equally excellent wine/cocktail list. We look forward to coming back again in the near future!

One & (not even) Done

By Greg E |

Lack of courtesy + poor service….Stopped in for a weekday late lunch. Place was empty. Yet, when requesting an outdoor table, the hostess walked around, ignored us, performed other tasks and 5 minutes later returned to tell us it would be a wait for one of the empty tables. No explanation (like “we’re short staffed”, which would have been understood), no apology, another hostess walk thru…then finally “I’ll text you when the table is ready…”. Still hung in there and was actually seated. We were the only patrons to check in with the hostess during this process. Of course, we were seated for 10 minutes, with no service. There was a waiter for the other 3 tables but saw no interaction with them either. Time to go…never to return.

Everything was great!

By iTraveltheworld195 |

Came here for dinner with my hubby and brothers. We had an excellent meal! We began by sharing two starters, the salt and vinegar roasted brussels sprouts and the asparagus. Both were completely savory and satisfying. We loved both of them and would order them again, For our mains we all ordered something different. Not a complaint to be had. We all loved our meals. We had the duck, the pork loin, the Bronzino and the quail. The Smoked Crispy Quail with Pickled Corn Relish, Gold Potatoes and Chili Garlic Honey was my order. I wouldn't have changed anything on the plate. It had just the right level of spice for me, leaving a mild burn in the mouth. The quail was crispy but not dried out or over cooked. It had really good flavor. The potatoes and corn relish burst with flavor and balanced the quail perfectly. Writing this makes me want it again! I had a Fitzgerald for my drink (my daughter's favorite). It is difficult to find bartenders that know how to make them let alone have them on the cocktail menu. They do here. Loved it! Service was very good as well. We never felt neglected or rushed.

Au Contraire

Whoever finds the food and drink marginal or less than 4 out of 5 may need to get his palette checked. Just finished fried chicken...Asian pepper seasoning...among the best in SA. Stag's Leap 2018 Cab Sauv and finished with a Local coffee...dark chocolate notes with moderate acidity. Am I alone in my accolades? No matter.

Posh chill place

By Dominic23 |

Solid place with a great view of the river area, if you sit outside. Very trendy and close to everything inside Pearl. Food is a little pricey but tasty. Brunch is amazing.
