Good pizza with great view

By mamushka s |

Huge restaurant, very nice stuff and good pizza. We were there after disappointed visit in NY Aquarium and with good food and a great view they made our day. We ordered by slices so we had 3 different styles and all were good.

Pizza, Yes, But Much More!

By Zoom_Gotti |

Convenient pizza, simple Italian food spot in Coney Island just across from the famous Cyclone (eat after you ride the Cyclone). Slices are available and they may tailor one for you if you ask. Take a good look at the menu; it has interesting offerings like shrimp parmigiana, a seafood combo, bean & pasta soup, and a chicken Milanese hero. Larger groups may fit with a rearrangement of tables. But call first to make sure. Also, I noted locals eating here. The location is adjacent to the W. 8th entrance to the F and Q trains.

Great snack

We stopped by here while visiting Coney Island and the boardwalk, just to grab a slice of pizza and warm up. The pizza was really good and reasonably priced. We also ordered a latte to take with us on our walk back and it was AMAZING.

excellent seafood soup

By adventix |

It was a surprise, especially as this place looks like a regular pizza place but their seafood soup was excellent. Pizza was good too.

How rude and disrespectful

By Beatrice R |

I came into this restaurant to eat. No place at tables but a table for 4 available (others reserved). So I seat as no one to welcom me and made sign to the waiter. A little girl was playing at the table with a phone, beside 2 woman seating in the next table. The waiter came. I ask if it was ok to seat here and where were the parents of the girl as the 2 women didn't seem to care much... He replied she was the daughter of the owner's friend and asked me if it was bothering me. I said no and I asked for the menu. A men came very angry (and making shocking allusions) asking me why I was sitting next to a baby child...I reply I came to eat and I thought the girl was with the 2 woman just beside...I am a 40 years old woman. My first advise to this very irresponsible rude man and the owner of this restaurant would be : before agressing and giving lesson to other people : don't let your child alone, even in your own restaurant which is a place where everyone can enter to order food. Second: how any customer who come into a restaurant TO EAT... can guess this child isn't with the 2 persons just beside her??? And last and most important : don't be rude, accusing or blaiming others when you don't even behave and act in a first place as a responsible person with your own child...Will never put my foot again in this restaurant.

NEVER EVER ORDER AGAIN

This is the second time we have pizza delivered and everything it it looks like pizza was on the ground , smashed. their delivery company choice is absolutely disgusting. NEVER AGAIN !!! Better care about customers and never reimburse or apologize to you.

Great Pizza and Coffee

By Christy L |

We came in for the pizza and coffee before visiting the aquarium. The pizza and the coffee were great! Alcohol and non alcohol beverages are available as well. My kids love this place. I highly recommend this place.

GREAT PIZZA AND SERVICE ACROSS FROM THE ACQUARIUM

By Robert S |

Just spent this past week in NYC, visiting from LA, and took my kids to the acquarium... we stumbled on this pizza spot after the day and had an amazing meal... and moreso, the Owner was super friendly and hospitable. He saw me enjoying the meal with my kids and took it upon myself to talk with us. The pizza was amazing, but his sense of hospitality was worth gold. Thank you and hope to visit again next time!!

Very handy location

Kids wanted to visit Coney Island and while there had the pleasure of some tasty pizza and coffee from Surf City. $6 per large slice, great choice, heated while you wait. Lovely service too and cool location overlooking the Cyclone rollercoaster. Would recommend.

Nice and lovely place

After 5 days in New York we went to Coney Island. We ate the best pizza! The pizza was really big and nice! But the most important thing that make us come back 2 times, was Lona, the waitress, she was so kind, friendly and helpful. Thank you Lona for the good time!!!

Nice place

By Clive J |

Basic to look at but nice atmosphere inside. Tasty food, pizza looked great but we went for wraps and Shrimp spaghetti. Both freshly made and very good, as good as any meal we have had on our US tour. Clean toilets. Relaxed service but weren’t in a hurry. Definitely recommend. Oh, and Balthazar is right outside!

Yummy penne ala vodka!

By thebeautifulguy |

Surf City is the best restaurant after a half marathon!! It has been my 3rd year eating here after Brooklyn Half and it does not disappoint! Location: It is located in Coney Island. Right in front of Cyclone. There a lot of seatings inside and outside! Service: the staff were nice, they are very attentive and give us recommendations. Food: The food is always good! 3 years I have been going here and everything was delicious. PENNE ALA VODKA with SHRIMP: it is probably my favorite! The pasta is cooked al dente and the sauce was just delicious! They topped it with grilled shrimp and it was the perfect addition to the sauce! MARGHERITA PIZZA: best type of pizza here for me! The crust is crispy and cooked properly. The sauce and mozzarella is delicious. 1 slice and I’m already full. SPAGHETTI with MEATBALLS: very authentic! The meatballs is juicy and flavorful inside. The sauce is af course tomato base and tangy. The pasta again is cooked al dente! Price rating: 6/10. To be honest the price is not bad for authentic Italian food. I will definitely come back here to try other food!

We ordered a couple of pies. The pizza was very good. Very Cheesy and had a nice crunchy crust. We all had at least 2 slices so no complaints here. lol

Generous portions and great service

By TyshTrip |

We visited coney Island and stumbled upon this place, which stands out from all the chain restaurant. The food was very tasty and the portions plentiful! We had pasta the first night, we went back for a second time to have pizza! Lona took our order and was extremely helpful, also the reason why we went back! Thanks guys for the food and the service!

Best food during my stay in Brooklyn

By Rob J |

I was in Coney Island from Nov 5-8. I ate at Surf City twice. Food was the best during my visit. Super friendly staff. The young ponytailed bartender was great and very welcoming. I had the grilled shrimp pasta and the green salad. Both were very tasty. The next day I had a slice of the veggie pizza. Everything was great

OMG!!!!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE 💋💙💙

By ForbiddenFruit_JC |

My family and I are staying nearby in the Sleep Inn hotel and we have been ordered for Surf City and we are literally obsessed I’m not exaggerating it’s so Delicious. My husband complemented them while ordering again and they gave us 2 free extra buffalo chicken slices. We definitely had to call back and thank him. The buffalo chicken slices are out of this world .I’m from Brooklyn and I have tried just about every pizza place there is. I love pizza and pasta lol. The chicken parmigiana with baked ziti with ricotta is to Die for wowwwww! I tried it previously but with linguine it too was good but the ziti is my new favorite lol. Omg and how in the world do they have the original beef patty’s from my child hood fresh meat do tasty and toasted perfectly as they should soft but toasty not burnt and dry like everyone else makes now. I can go on and on, How serious are we about them well we are now looking for a house around the area just so they can deliver 😂 We can’t go back now it’s sooooooooo Good 💙💙💙💙💙🙏🏽

Not sure about this place

By DelReTravel |

Place looks nice from the outside but inside the restaurant is very confusing and the guy that works at the cashier was condescending with customers, pizza could be better and cheaper.

Not your average chain pizza

By CrystalN320 |

We stopped into Surf City Pizzeria after a quick visit to see Coney Island minus the summer crowds. Surf City is what appears to be a small and possibly family owned restaurant. The pizza, calzones and other selections are fresh and tasty. We were served quickly and enjoyed a few different types of pizza slices and a calzone. Very tasty!

A good choice if you are enjoying the pleasures of Coney Island

By Brian T |

There’s a lot of choice for food if you are visiting the amusement parks and Boardwalk at Coney Island. The Boardwalk abounds with takeout joints of all descriptions, and you can get your fill on the likes of fries, burgers and slices of pizza, all of dubious quality and freshness. There’s also a couple of iconic dining establishments which ave been around for decades, including ‘Nathan’s Famous’. We settled on Surf City Pizzeria, on Surf Avenue, directly overlooking Luna Park’s famous old roller coaster Cyclone as it clattered around its wooden curves. We chose the restaurant for a number of reasons: it was busy; it had a comprehensive menu of pizzas, calzones and traditional Italian dishes; there was covered patio seating so you could watch the passing parade; and most importantly it looked clean and comfortable. It was a good choice. We order a selection of dishes which we orderedfrom the counter, though I think waiter service was also available. The meals were freshly prepared and brought to us. Our selection consisted of the meatballs in a rich tomato sauce, a small calzone stuffed with pepperoni and cheese, and a Greek salad. We enjoyed our meals, and it was ample for the two of us. The salad was fresh, with a generous portion of Feta. The meatballs were large and tasty, and the tomato sauce was rich and tangy. The calzone was tasty, oozing cheese. We enjoyed our meals very much. It’s not haute cuisine by any means (and nor did we expect that), just homestyle cooking that pleased the palate and didn’t break the bank. Service was efficient and unobtrusive. It’s casual, comfortable and has a lively vibe. The menu has choices for vegans and vegetarians, and gluten-free options are available. It’s at ground level so those using mobility assistance should not have issues. It’s easy to locate. If you arrive by subway, exit to Surf Avenue, turn left and walk down Surf Avenue until you’re nearly opposite the Cyclone in Luna Park. You’ll see the large restaurant on the left. I'd certainly make a return visit.

Good choice for Italian at Coney Island

By redcanvas |

Family of 4 (11yr. Old & 16 yr old ). We tried the past, a slice, and a calzone. Water came in bottles..so you’re paying for it…but it was so cold, it was worth it for us. The food was good! Pasta was a good size and delicious. Calzone was filling and I think it had some ricotta in it. It came with a small marinara sauce. Service was a little slow..but friendly! Overall, this was a good experience for us!

The biggest pizza I have ever seen

By Carl Di Stefano |

We came here with friends who said we had to try it. The pizza was bigger than my appetite. But i tried. Beautiful New York pizza, great service, tasty food.

Pizza by the slice

By ontheroadagain65 |

We stopped in to get something to eat. We weren't real hungry, but I noticed they sold pizza by the slice. One slice each was plenty, as the slices were pretty big. We both liked the type we picked. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely stop in again, if we're ever in the area.

Awesome pizza and coffee!

A short walk from the NY aquarium, we had a delicious pizza. Other items were also available. This is a very casual place with friendly service.
