Very nice visit and good food

By Micrida1 |

Very nice young people who run a nice place with delicious food. Waitress was maybe be a little too hasty. Food is excellent. One plate was enough for me. I was alone but there is also room for large groups. Nice Korean food to go back to.

Interesting Asian infusion food...

By Traveltheorient |

Excellent location, nice interior, OK service and pretty good food. We had some hybrid Korean food. Overall, pretty good food....

Good tasty dinner in fisherman’s that’s not a rip off

By DC C |

Tasty meal in lively informal setting with nice waiter who resisted our attempts to over-order. Korean bbq meal for one and forgot the other one. Handy place if you are in a hotel near fisherman’s. Not stuffy or super expensive; mid range. Probably not the place for romantic date, but if you are a tired tourist, this does the trick.

Something different to try!

By billhollowsky |

Wanting to try something different, we went to Surisan for Korean fusion/BBQ. We received friendly and attentive service. We sampled several different appetizers and we shared several dishes. Everyone was happy!

Pricey but delicious

By Nina M |

We went here in a group of 9 for a birthday brunch. Be mindful of the reservation (I recommend reservations if a large party as this place does get busy). Our reservation is for 10:30 am on a Sunday. They will give away your table if the whole party is not there on time (15 minute grace period). The menu is fairly pricey ($21 for my Blackstone Benedict). The breakfast item I have was delicious but I am conflicted on whether this was worth the price. The bacon (which they are known for) are nicely thick cut. While I like how thick the bacon cuts are, but I am not fond of the sweetness to them. I prefer savory when it comes to bacons. So if you enjoy sweet, thick cut bacons - I recommend ordering their bacons.

Good location, average food, off putting service

By Nani B |

I am writing this review while dining. So quite live and fresh. I was walking to the wharf and saw this place en route and liked the atmosphere, so decided to stop in for breakfast. Around 10am, Sunday. I walked in and saw the hostess, who greeted me with a “Hi guys, how many?” As soon as I said “one” the expression changed visibly. She looked inside and said I could sit at the bar. I requested outdoor seating; “well then you will be in corner there.” So much for the customer having their say. She asked if I had a reservation, which I did not. Maybe this was the reason for being relegated to the corner. But I realized that the next four tables that came and were seated outdoors did not have a reservation either. All said and done the table was not so bad. I ordered one of their scrambled and English Breakfast tea. The scramble is not definitely fresh made. It came too quickly and was too heavy with onions. It tasted okay. Nothing extraordinary. Like most egg dishes not cooked fresh, they have (what I term) a “plate life.” If you don’t eat it relatively soon, it will start to not look so good on the plate and not taste so good on the palate. The tea was Tea Forte. A good make, certainly. I did not get any milk for the tea. By the time I got the server’s attention the water was not hot. So all in all an average experience at best. Will certainly not be making a beeline for it the next time in SFO. My recommendation: cook fresh and greet and treat your customers with respect and courtesy. Cheers! Addendum: major faux pas: The server picked up my completed/signed tab while I was still sitting. You just should never do that. Period. Bad practice.

Best Asian spot in San Francisco.

By Michelle S |

This was hands-down one of my favorite restaurants I have ever been to. We decided to basically eat everything off the menu. The sweet chili fried chicken wings were divine. It did have a little bit of a kick to them but They ended up being very crunchy and tasted so good we ordered two orders of them. The millionaires bacon is a must. I would recommend getting both for appetizers! We also decided to get the Ramen noodles which were just OK. The Kalbi was very delicious and would recommend getting. The potstickers spicy soup was hands-down also the best part of the meal. This is more of a hang out laid back spot. This was the last meal of our trip and it was really worth it!!!

Excellent Korean Resturant

By StuG71 |

If you want to get away from the "tourist trap" restaurants around fisherman's wharf give this place a try! Food was absolutely delicious, and staff were very friendly. We actually got there about 5.30pm and were worried it wasn't going to be good because it was sooooo quiet, but it soon filled up! While the Millionaire's bacon sounds a bit gimmicky, and is a bit overpriced, it's definitely worth getting the flight. Every bit of it was so yummy! My favorite was the cinnamon, but they were all good. We also had the BBQ set (with spicy pork) and, again, everything was delicious. Definitely worth a visit. Next time we'll probably give them a go for breakfast too!

Wonderful, fresh Korean

By lupaglupa |

We ate lunch at Surisan after poking around the waterfront area. The patio looked inviting but a bit chilly so we sat inside. Everything we ordered was great - not quite traditional Korean. I had the pajun - a huge serving which came to the table sizzling in an iron skillet. It was excellent and more than I could eat - this would be a great dish for people to share. My son got the bulgogi bap and loved it. My husband had the spicy Korean tacos - he really enjoyed them even though they were a bit spicy for him. We also had a side order of the millionaire's bacon - so delicious! I also got a side order of kimchi. The entrees were so big we didn't need any extras. Service was efficient and the dining room comfortable. Overall a great place - and so much better than the tourist trap restaurants just a few blocks away!

Dinner down by the Pier!

By Beachluvin3 |

Reservations for dinner after a harbor cruise down by the Pier. Quiet from the outside, but a great vibe on the patio and inside! The food was amazing and had a beautiful presentation. Fast, friendly wait staff!!

Good

By Roses |

Tried the "Pimped ramyen" here since it both looks and sounds so fun! I love ramen anyway and it was certainly good. The workers here are prompt and kind. Very busy environment but has its charm.

Option for Breakfast/Brunch Near SF Wharf

By RogerD |

Good recommendation for those visiting San Francisco at the Wharf for a few days and desire the option of traditional American brunch/lunch fare and maybe experience Korean food for the first time. The Korean food provided is not the pungent spicy type available in popular Bay Area Korean restaurants further away from the Wharf. The prices are characteristic for restaurants in popular destinations such as the Wharf but the more value conscious can easily find tasty alternatives if they venture further into the city.

Authentic spicy korean food

By Flo |

Just amazing authentic korean food and great service...If you wish to have a different Dinner (or breakfast) to the typical american stuff: Surisan is the place to go to close to fishermans wharf!! But beware: it's spicy ;)

A must in San Fran!

By Kirsty Durkan |

My first experience of Korean/American fusion and it was AMAZING. Everything about the food was just incredible and its a must-do in San Fransisco for dinner. Their KFC is just unbelievable and the service was also really great and so friendly. We wish we discovered Surisan earlier in our trip and we really would of been making daily trips to come here. Felt really cosy, modern and clean inside and the perfect wait in between courses. The price was also extremely reasonable.

Recommended!

By Leen |

Friendly service and very good food. The crispy Korean fried chicken and the hot pots were very tasty. Highly recommended

This Maryland couple found a gem!

By Robyn P |

Right around the corner from our hotel - this stunning restaurant was visually beautiful with a stunning decor. The floors, tables & walls are a treat for the eyes. We even liked the soft paper napkins! We had the Korean fried chicken - YUM & bibimbap that was out of this world. Did I mention the picked veg that came with the chicken - so tasty! The service was on point with the friendly staff who paid great attention to us. I wish we lived closer to Surisan so we could come back every week.

Excellent experience

By GrahamHwt |

On a trip into the city, we stumbled across Surisan. What a terrific discovery. We enjoyed both dishes (Dolsot Bibimbap and Glazed KFC Bap). The hot stone sizzling dish was great. We enjoyed great flavours and a nice change from routine diner meals.

Quick dinner

By sami za'arir |

Ok food... Ok service.. Little Pricy. I didn't like the atmosphere. You don't feel the place. Good for quick bite if you are hungry and it's you last choice.

SURISAN A KOREAN CULINARY WINNER

By baird t |

Just a block or two from Fisheman's Wharf at San Francisco bay, this indoor outdoor Korean restaurant is extremely popular for the lunch bunch on weekends. There's plenty to choose from on a very entertaining menu ranging from spicy pork Bap to Kimchi fried rice to the Korean fried chicken (seems to be the most popular). The spices and taste combinations are totally unique from other asian dishes. The portions are PLENTIFUL and service quick and friendly. The Pimped UP Ramyun combines just about all the Korean textures, tastes and aroma. Delicious. Very knowledgable servers. Outdoors in the season affords an excellent view of the wild variety of individuals making their way to enjoy or work at the Wharf below. Wine and Beer. Prices extremely reasonable especially considering the portions. Parking along the nearby streets or garages.

Super Surisan

By flyer303_12 |

Surisan looked quiet from the street, but it was very busy inside. The decor was modern and tasteful. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered the K- burrito and K-tacos. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We finished it off by sharing the hazelnut gelato dessert. We had a wonderful experience.

Visited twice as was decent

By Siknotes |

Having been to Korea previously I thought I would give this place a try. I wouldn't say I got value for money, but I got a decent meal. Service was friendly and on the whole good, but would bring next dish out after only just starting the previous one. I wasn't a fan of the bulgogi but each to their own. Worth considering as unfortunately fisherman's wharf has limited choice of good restaurants.

Good fast fusion food

By GRPSWFC |

Food was good. Delivered very quickly! The service was great. Would have liked to spend a little longer over the meal but the staff were attentive.

Lovely food but pricey and rushed

By Madison Y |

This was my first visit to Surisan and I couldn’t wait to try after reading reviews. The food was delicious however for the size of portions I felt the price was just not good value for money. I know it’s probably because of the location being in a tourist area but there are other places where you get more for your buck. The service felt rushed. We went on a midweek evening and the place was half empty and we were in and out in less than an hour. That being said the server was a nice chatty man who had moved over to USA from Thailand. I probably wouldn’t go back because there are so many other places to try although there was nothing wrong with the choice and taste of food.

This place was amazing.

By Jiri |

I visited this place with my wife, and we really loved it. The food was excellent. It was Korean with a modern and interesting twist. Portions were good, food was good, the place was nice... We really loved it!

Top Restaurant

By allesjc |

We were there twice for breakfast and once for dinner. Very good and rich food, the staff were very friendly. Prices are in line with the general price level. Highly recommended.

Food is incredible!

By emmagrizz |

Salmon tempura roll is to die for. Decor is fantastic and the service was dynamite! Barely any wait time. Must try in SF!

Food on point ... service to be desired

By Dnshaugen |

The food is on point. The service could use some work ... yes the food is everything they say and more. Flavorful - large portions - the millionaire bacon is worth the money. Sweet. Spicy. The teenagers liked it. Atmosphere was nice. The service - we were greeted well. Then the restaurant filled up and we were forgotten. Don’t order the bottomless mimosa. It won’t be refilled. But they made it good and removed it from the bill. Bottom line. Go for food. Make a reservation. But have patience.

Best breakfast in town!

By john w |

amazing breakfast! our tour guide suggested it. highly suggest eating here! the omelet and millionaire bacon were delish.

Fun neighborhood Korean restaurant

By Lori S |

Great little Korean restaurant near our hotel. Excellent bulgogi! Highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you want to get away from the noise and crowds at Pier 39. Short little walk from numerous hotels. Great staff, great good, fun vibe!

Excellent Dinner

By ModerationForMe |

We had just finished exploring Pier 39 and started exploring the area. We were headed this way to take a bus back to our hotel near Union Square. I checked for restaurants nearby and this showed up. We arrived around 7 pm on a Friday and was promptly seated outside per our request. Had we been closer to 8 and we might not have gotten a table. Even though there was a strong breeze, the plastic and the heat lamp kept us quite comfortable. Service was excellent, as was the meal.

Great Korean by Fisherman’s Wharf!

By triphopper |

Went to Surisan based on the reviews I read and was not disappointed. Ordered the Japchai rice which is glass noodle, fried rice and beef on a hot skillet and it was very tasty. Paired a hot sake to go with it. Good quality of food with very good portions. Will be back here!

Super service and super soul

By Karla R |

Super service and super soul food! Couldn’t have been happier! The bacon, the KFC (Korean fried chicken) and Bibimbap soooo good!!

Delicious and Authentic Korean Food

By SuZQ0420 |

Went to lunch here on a weekday at 1pm so it was a bit quiet (they close at 2:30pm on weekdays). The food is delicious! They were open to substituting tofu for meat in a dish, we didn't feel rushed when it was past 2:30. There is plenty of paid parking around the restaurant, the food is excellent and perfect portion sizes. You can get breakfast or lunch until 2:30 on weekdays.

Modern Korean food

By KC_in_NY |

Stopped by here for dinner since it was right across the street from my hotel. Got there early before the crowd started, so service was good and food came out pretty quick. Thought the food was fine, but I'm still more of a fan of traditional Korean. The sweet soy fried chicken was a little too sweet for my taste. The fried rices were ok and the seafood pajun a little too doughy. Didn't leave hungry and the soju cocktail was nice way to end the meal.

wonderful

By Phyllis S |

breakfast & dinner. wonderful. staff great. wanted to go for every meal. easy to get to. highly recommend. told other tourists to try it out

So Good We Ate Here Twice on Our Weekend Trip to San Fran

By Lauren L |

We only had three days to spend in San Francisco - this restaurant was so good we ate here twice. Our first night we had dinner here since it was close to our hotel and had great reviews online - we all loved our meals. The Korean fried chicken was so good! The next morning we came back for breakfast. The millionaires bacon is no joke - super good! The 'Pimped Up Ramyun' was also fantastic! Honestly if we had another day in San Fran we probably would have come back here for a third time. Their food is seriously good!

Lovely restaurant

By Liz H |

Went after reading reviews, although a bit hard to find, worth it on the end. Waiter was attentive and helpful with what to order, food was great and realer tasty. Restaurant is a bit noisy but great atmosphere for younger people

Delicious Korean Food! Great atmosphere!

By momklaus |

We absolutely loved this restaurant! It was our first time to eat Korean good! Staff helped us pick out meals. Great choices! Everything was delicious! Atmosphere was nice and staff had great customer service! They didn’t miss a beat! Our food came out quickly and was wonderful! You can sit inside or outside. This was an awesome experience! I highly recommend!

Very good Korean

By nbe |

Friendly welcome. Have been placed without reservation (early arrival). Quick service. Hearty dishes. Bimbimbap to test absolutely! A good address for a good meal!

An interesting mix of cuisines. Worth a visit

By Peter D |

We spent a nice sunday morning having brunch here. The service was good and the food tasty and plentiful. Be warned that you will only be seated when the whole party is in attendance. We had a mix of American and Korean dishes.

Korean delight!

By Val-Lincoln |

Read reviews and tried Surisan last night. Was our first experience with Korean food and boy were we glad we tried it. Took some recommendations from our very helpful waiter Mote. Every dish was fantastic. Wait staff friendly and attentive. Service speedy even with a mostly packed house. Can’t wait to go back for breakfast!

2nd time dining here, another good experience.

By LorettaBoy |

Dined here 2 years ago with my girlfirend and absolutely loved it. Solo venture this time around, food still great, but would prefer coming with a friend so could split more dishes. Service was top notch.

Excellent !

By Laurent V |

Great restaurant! We ate so well! We had the Korean barbecue with some kinds of ribs. A delight ! The fried chicken was really good too. The only downside is that it's a shame to bring the starter almost at the same time as the main course. But that doesn't spoil anything.

Great food, great service.

By Jacob H |

Great food, great service. It was nice to find something a little less touristy on this side of town. Really enjoyed the KFC. Bulgogi was good as well.

Millionaries Bacon and the Crusted French Toas were Fantastic

By frequent1 |

YUM YUM YUM. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. A little pricy 8 bucks for two pieces of bacon, but well worth it. The other's had eggs benedict (with bacon) and loved it and the chicken sandwiches. I would definitely come back. Great location near the warf as well

Great food, great service

By Kevin K |

My wife and I ate breakfast here....unlike so many of the tourist trap restaurants in the Fisherman's Wharf area, this place was really nice. It offers Korean and American cuisine....we just had the basic bacon and eggs ...all cooked to perfection, served quickly and comes with the house cinnamon toast...the service was great as well. Only regret is that we did not have the opportunity to go back for lunch or dinner but will next time we are in San Fran.

Not impressed

By Beth K |

Not impressed even though the ratings were good. Expensive. Everything that had meat in it was slightly sweet when it should have been savory except the fried rice which was too earthy. The nachos were odd. Fried chicken was plain and not sure what made it Korean.

Terrific takeout too

By seanrigbybrown |

Late and needed some high quality takeout...this worked out really well. Great menu with some Vegan and Gluten-free options with very minor modifications. The veggie fried rice with tofu added was the best I’ve ever had. The bibimbap was good. Two people had the Korean KFC chicken and loved it. One person had the tofu salad and it was good. It all worked out really well. Service was good. Quick and no errors.

Can’t split a check more than two ways

By Nicole LiBaire |

My colleagues and I went and had a lovely dinner that consisted of two bottles of wine and mediocre dessert at best. The appetizers and main courses were great except we ordered the bacon flight prominently featured on the front of the restaurant with four pieces of bacon to only be served two. We let this go as everything was good until we got the bill. We simply asked to split the bill three ways and were told we could only split two ways. This is not posted as you walk in the door or anywhere on their website (this is 2019 now). I was going to let the bacon slide until they told us the bill could only be split two ways. We were told we ordered the wrong bacon and that nothing could be done to split our bill three ways. This should be clearly stated at the beginning of the dining experience. With so many restaurants to pick from in San Francisco don’t waste your time on this one. #epicfail

Super breakfast!!!

By Diana T |

We had a great breakfast, enjoyed everything the food the service the environment.... recommended for sure

Great Lunch

By Russ M |

When to Surisan for lunch with my wife and we thought it was very good. We are familiar with the different types of dishes from Korea and this place does a quality job.

Prices up, quality down

By notmichelin |

I was here a year ago and they were always packed, now pretty slow. I have eaten there a couple of times this month. Prices are up. For example, including taxes and an add on fee for "employee benefits" an order of 12 chicken wings is about 32 bucks. Also, the quality is down. Several of the wings I tried were good, but some were tough and gristly. My wife spit out one wing and said it tasted "old." They are cutting back on portions of things like sides, pickles, etc. And, When I got home one night with my to go order there were no napkins, utensils, or sauces, just the food. They have always been disorganized about seating customers, and can be difficult to communicate with. For example, they have a sign posted outside the closed front door instructing customers to wait to be seated. I waited, in the cold and dark, but nobody came, even though I could see through window that only 20 percent of seating was occupied. This place is showing signs of imminent failure and needs to send in a manager who can fix things quick. Customers are responding to being nickled-and-dimed and under-served by just not coming back.

Excellent Korean Food

By brucek155 |

My wife and I enjoyed the food very much. Bulgogi was excellent and they are also a great choice for breakfast as well. If you are a bacon fan, I'd recommend the millionaire's bacon.

Great place

By mccrhodes |

Happened upon this place and feel lucky. We had the mango salad, it was refreshing. I tried the mushroom rice with black cod, very good. Others had some hot meals which were all tasty with the only complaint being it was too much for. Service was fast and polite.

Very good

By trav8169 |

Very good food. Very good service. They do not have a full bar but they do have some nice wines and saki drinks to choose from.

Excellent Korean Food !

By BLUEWONDER1 |

Nice Venue with great atmosphere, served authentic Korean Food with a twist. We enjoyed our dinner, service also excellent. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. Highly recommended.

A distinct treat

By James |

My wife and I decided on Korean tonight, and being new to SF, we did a quick google search to see which restaurants landed in the top few and settled on this one for delivery a la Covid. You won't be disappointed should you proceed the way we did. KFC Chicken - My wife loves fried chicken, and she loved this. I don't care much for fried chicken, and I enjoyed it more than she did. You won't be disappointed. BULGOGI BAP: my wife's main dish, and her take was the quality of the food was quite good. She has a "refined" palate, so you can take that at face value. Premium chicken soup: as good as one would hope. Chicken melted in your mouth, flavor was intoxicating. Makes me lament that my grandma wasn't Korean. Ddukpokki: well made. Spicy, yes, and well worth the cost. Millionaire's Bacon Dinner: this was the only one that made me possibly question giving this review 4 instead of 5 (since can't give 4.5). It was quite good but the only issue for us was a bit too much oil for our taste. But oil or no oil, you knew it was a special dish and well worth ordering. The flavor was pretty fantastic. Japchae rice: delicious. Simply delicious. Flavors, ingedients...all top quality.

Excellent Korean restaurant

By Henri DB |

On a family vacation to SF, we went to this restaurant without having a reservation. And we enjoyed ourselves: the dishes are copious and very subtle. Efficient service. And we drank a good white wine from Oregon.

Excellent food and friendly service

By Texas61962 |

We just wanted a quick bite close to our hotel. The Surisan Restaurant is serving simple (but not boring) Korean Dishes that are cooked and presented perfectly. We loved the fried rice dishes (Kimchi Fried Rice being our favourite one) and the spicy Mango Salad. Very friendly staff made the whole dining experience even better. We'll definitely go back when in SFO.

Amazing

By Adam |

Absolutely incredible Korean brunch place. I've never had Korean food before this, and I was not disappointed! Service was impeccable, food was fresh, sizzling hot, and extremely well presented. Incredibly flavorful food as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming and warm. Great experience and I highly recommend this place. Note: the Dolsot with chicken mango was delicious!

Wonderful lunch

By MPCBBA |

This restaurant appears to be very popular with the lunch crowd. Our orders came nicely presented and were delicious.

Great place, great food and great service.

By Karin |

We had been there twice during our short stay in SF. It was both times just perfect! We definitely will be back.

Nice find

By tonyirish |

Stopped in here for dinner after wandering around Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39. The place was busy and we were a large group but they quickly opened a section and set up a table for us. Our order was taken and delivered quickly. Be careful ordering though as few items were "lost on translation." For example, I ordered a side of fries but got a side of rice. All dishes were delicious and though the pricing seemed to be a few dollars more that I was expecting, all of the entre dishes were of a generous proportion. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This place is definitely worth walking a block up from Jefferson away from the bsutle.

Nice food with excellent service.

By Mark S |

We had a very nice evening meal. Very tasty food. Nice decor and the service was excellent especially from Noi, who was a character. Claire was also very nice. Only negative was the 2 large rats running across the restaurant path, near the pavement, as we departed the restaurant. Could be a one off but suggest the owner get pest control in.

Great!

By MGB_028 |

Amazing service. Even better food. Stopped in on our way back to our hotel. Tucked into a corner so unless you're a local, or it is evening (restaurant courtyard is lit up) you'll easily miss it. Must stop if you love Korean food.

Lunch- upscale Korean & American

By Ilana F |

Lunch- upscale Korean & American fusion. Good portion sizes. Fresh & beautiful presentation. Arrived & there were 55 names on the waiting list but was still able to sit quickly.

Great little spot, worth a stop

By Tyson C |

I believe it's a Korean breakfast spot. It in a great location and a perfect little setting. I had the banana iced latte which was Devine.

Pre-Coronavirus times

By kisssmee |

This place is the typical breakfast/lunch place! The place is really cute, service is great, and there is a good amount of good foods to choose from. If you have been reading my reviews throughout the years you know I love matcha. This place has a matcha mojito which was a must in coming here. The drink was very interesting. It reminded me of Trader Joe's matcha mix with alcohol in it. Still good though. I had the spicy pork bap and I liked it a lot and really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but while eating the dish there was an overwhelming amount of sliced green onions. At first I gave it a go and was eating them, but after a while I started putting them aside and there was a lot in the dish. So the fact that there was probably 5 stalks of green onion instead of meat was a downer for me. I'd love to come back here again and try something else to eat.

Get the wings!!

By Jillian H |

Really great food and service. Get the wings for sure!!! Also not loud, I hate loud restaurants so that’s a plus. Overall a good pick

Great Korean modern fusion

By hfc4240 |

The food was great. Not your traditional Korean with the side plates but what we did get was awesome as it was modern Korean Fusion. The reason for the 4 stars is because the service was just ok. All the dishes we ordered were great and would for sure go back when in San Fran.

great korean fusion

By Joseph |

strategically located near fisherman wharf unique and good quality korean dishes good service worth to try while in SFO

Tasty and authentic

By Joanne L |

The atmosphere is brightly lit and it’s a bit noisy. But the food is delicious and authentic. The soups come out still boiling. The assorted appetizers were mostly good tho the millionaire bacon to me was just a slab of bacon with seasoning. I liked the various chicken appetizers better. The crab tempura was just fried crab and also not impressive. The entree of mushroom and sea bass was tasty.

Delicious Korean Menu

By TLGal6 |

We were happy to find a restaurant across the street from our hotel with such good reviews. This was our first Korean meal, and everything was outstanding! Fresh ingredients, beautifully prepared dishes, and lovely staff. Our family of four loved every dish we chose!

Most unusual

By NickBlaireLee |

A lovely authentic restaurant. Menus needs some explanation. Food spicy and really nice. Generous portions . Great staff.

Fab breakfast

By Jo |

We ate here twice whilst in San Francisco. The breakfast was 10/10 the dinner not so much. Breakfast Service great, food was so tasty and fresh - a refreshing take on old favourites! A little on the pricy side, but the portion size was large, and everything was delicious. It's definitely worth a breakfast visit. Dinner Went back for dinner a few nights later. The food was still good but not as good as the breakfast offering. The biggest issue was service, they bring your meal out SO fast, we had an appetiser to share and 2 mains with drinks but only stayed in the restaurant for 30 minutes. They need to slow things down and bit and let people enjoy a more leisurely dinner. I'd give dinner a miss in future.

ok - slow but nice service, not the best Korean we've had

By lisafromMaynard |

I had dolsot -ok flavor served so piping hot it was difficult to eat and I finally scooped out some on a plate so it would cool. I was disappointed there were so few vegetables. Taste was decent. I liked that the tofu seemed to have been seared some before putting it in the dolsot bowl! They were generous with the tofu and rice though, but i really wanted some vegetables. My husband had the beef kimchy, he said he would rate it a 3. I saw very few vegetables and it looked like alot of sauce and rice. Service, while they were nice, was very slow. For the number of tables and servers, I would have expected it to be faster. I ordered hot tea, small tea bag for a huge pot of water. I wasn't paying attention and put the tea bag in the pot so I had super weak tea. They charged 6. The tea was served so close to the meal I would have rather have canceled it since I wanted to sip it before the meal. They didn't seem to have much of a selection of vegetarian options. We would not return.

Fantastic Korean Food, Large Portions

By Carmen L |

I arrived with a large group just before around 5:45pm and we were seated right away by a welcoming staff. For starters, we had the crispy tofu salad and their Millionaire Bacon, which is one of the things they’re known for. Both were amazing!! The greens were tossed in a sesame ginger dressing and served with avocado and pickled red onions. Now, let’s talk about the bacon. Simply put: plain perfection. Thick and crispy and it basically melted in my mouth. The appetizer brings two strips and is served on a bed of asparagus. The entree menu has something for everyone: Korean fried chicken, noodle and rice dishes, soups, tacos, etc. I opted for the bulgogi japchae and it did not disappoint. Lots of bulgogi and noodles, all served on a bed of rice. Outright perfect. Entree portions are large, so don’t fill up on appetizers! By the time we left around 7:15pm, the restaurant was full. I suggest making a reservation if you plan on visiting at peak dinner time. Service overall was very good.

Excellent cooking and friendly staff

By FurTeddy |

I so enjoy eating here when staying in SF. Wonderful Galbi and wonderful barbecue. Excellent pinot noir by the glass. And wonderful house specials like the millionaire’s bacon. Such a great reliable restaurant - shuts quite promptly though so don’t arrive too late !

Restaurant treasure to discover!

By DanielMasse |

Excellent restaurant. We went 4 times during our trip. Try the carnivore scramble or Surisan scramble for lunches, they are excellent. For supper, chicken wings with strong and sweet sauce are succulent.

You Wont Leave Hungry!

By LIPSTICK L |

We had lunch, and dinner on 2 separate occasions. Everything we tried was delicious, well-seasoned, beautifully presented, filling (enough to be shared, especially the dinner entrees). The staff are so friendly, fast, and personable. We especially had great conversations with Tee. Highly recommend this establishment!!

Wonderful food, wonderful service!

By C&B S |

We had the pleasure of having dinner at Surisan while in San Francisco. The food was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this very good Korean restaurant.

Incredibly tasty food and great service. Needed to wait some time for a table but definitely worth it. Will come back next time we are in San Francisco.

A gem

We are craving for rice and hot soup and decided to pick this Korean Restuarant. Wise selection, we love the Dosot ,Belly Pork and ox tail soup. Nice ambience and friendly staffs! 👍

Great food, service and atmosphere

By meltel910 |

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the service. We all liked our dinner. I enjoyed the bulgogi fried rice and the margarita. The kids devoured the pork belly pots. Great meal overall!

First time

By Paul L |

Has the pork belly and rice, shrimp sticks and bbq beef. A lot of food. Very good. Busy place. We would return. Service was great.

100% recommend

By Elif I |

Excellent food. Every dish we ordered, including dessert, was outstanding. Even though they were very busy, service was flawless. Everyone working there was super nice and attentive.

Great dining experience

By DW |

Nothing short of an incredible dining experience. All the dishes are reasonably priced, and everything we ordered was great. I highly recommend the dolsot bibimbap and the pumped up ramen.

Nice place to dine for dinner

By creativestartravel |

Nice place to dine for dinner, entree is big enough to share with friends and the fried rice is very tasty. Service is prompt and friendly - recommend you others.

Yummmm

I've visited Surisan twice and I tried the Bulgogi and the K-tacos. Both were delicious. The service was excellent both times. I would definitely come back!

Very Nice service and food

We reserved a table for Four and Got everything we wanted. The service was very good, they Were Helping all the time. The food was delicious and had a totally fair Price tag.

Not a good experience

By ian360132 |

I'm afraid the experience my wife and I had at Surisan did not reflect the many positive reviews of the restaurant. We visited on a midweek evening during our four-day stay in San Francisco and virtually everything about the meal was unsatisfactory. My wife ordered a tofu-based starter which arrived with about 10 thick slices of tasteless tofu as part of a portion that was far too big. My chicken dish was equally bland and the rice was overcooked. The service was very rushed and the staff seemed agitated, with our main course arriving before we had even finished our starter and the bill being slapped on the table within seconds of finishing our main course ; it felt as if we were hustled out as quickly as possible. All in all, it was, to be candid, a waste of money.

Great food, decent portions

By Chris B |

Absolutely fantastic food. We ordered a K-Taco plate and six Korean wings, which was plenty for two. Service was a little slow, but they seemed to be short staffed on Independence Day which is fair enough!

Good place in between the touristic traps

By Belmont2016 |

We had very good Asian - Fusion Dinner there. Good value for money, quick and professional service , would visit that place again .

Homey Korean food

By cyntwh |

This Korean restaurant had some nice cocktails using soju. The food was hot and came out in the metal pans. We had the pork ribs with mashed potatoes and pineapple, weird mix but delicious. Jap Chae with rice was also delicious. The steamed buns wasn't amazing so I would give that a miss next time. The service was great and we hardly had to wait for our food. Would definitely go back to try breakfast.

Very good Korean restaurant.

Surisan is a Korean restaurant in San Francisco. The setting is pretty and modern with a nice little terrace. Warm and pleasant welcome. We opted for specialties namely "Japchae Rice" and "Dolsot Bibimbap". Well, it was a very nice discovery. Tasty dishes, good cooking and very good tastes, served hot and especially in good quantity. Reasonable Award. A very good culinary experience and a restaurant that I recommend.

Enjoyed it...

By RayR |

We had a very good meal here - but I can't rave like others have (I did notice that the rave reviews I saw were more for breakfast - and we went for dinner - so perhaps that's part of it). That said, we did have a very nice meal - a solid 4 star experience. The environment is nice/casual - but a bit loud. Their drinks were delicious and they had a nice selection of Korean inspired dishes (all we tried were very good). Service was friendly, and prices were very reasonable for the quality and location. Definitely worth a try (way better than the tourist traps in the area). We will visit again next time we are in the area.

Great dinner and breakfast

By brandy1co |

This was so good when we had dinner that we came back for breakfast the next morning. We started with the Millionaire's Bacon and it was outstanding! I also had the Sweet Soy Glazed KFC, this is a definite to try. For breakfast the next day I had the Fisherman's Benedict and it was delicious! I wanted to try so many things, it was so hard to make a decision. This place will definitely be on my list when I make it back to San Fran!

Loved very mouthful

By Rollo |

Everything is high quality. Quick service, polite staff, magical food. We loved the beautiful flower arrangements around the restaurant. Thank you sincerely to the chefs and staff

Quite an experience, very friendly service

By JJ F |

During a visit to San Francisco, I had lunch and dinner here. Lunch was with a business associate and Dinner was by myself. I am unfamiliar with Korean cuisine so the menu items were explained to me. Dinner was Korean tacos and a Korean beer. The tacos were not what I expected but good and the beer was very good. I was one of a few non-asian diners with all diners enjoying the food and service. It was good to see the ethnic following which supported the quality of the food. I would go back and would recommend it. Again, some of the items were very specific to Korean cuisine if you are not familiar, try the webpage, look at the menu and be adventurous.

WOW

By Rschagrin |

Our hotel recommended Surisan a block away. Serving Korean and American food breakfast, lunch and dinner. The place was packed inside and outside so we sat at the outside bar. I ordered the SEAFOOD PAJUN, Korean style pancake with seafood, scallion, onion, bell pepper, and jalapenos. Superb. My wife who isn't an adventurous eater had the • TWO EGGS ANY STYLE, with crispy Yukon, popover, and a roasted tomato. You can get either regular bacon or Millionaire’s Bacon, a thicker, spicier bacon, great. I highly recommend Surisan.

Best Korean food near Fisherman's Wharf

By Doris M |

Even now we are back in Singapore, with abundance of Korean food options.. we cannot stop missing this restaurant! The food is simply amazing! And just surprised, standard gratuity already added to bill. Do i regret paying gratuity? Nope; the delicious food deserves every cent!

Great Korean food!

By jdcardena |

The menu fits for most of the family, most of the menu is spicy but the food is really really good. Ver recomended place and the ricotta pancakes OMG, incredible!!!

Wonderful quality restaurant

By FurTeddy |

This Korean serves wonderful food - beautiful beef Galbi and incredible Korean fried chicken, all served with real IPA’s and stunning Sonoma Pinot Noir - first class service also.

New Items on Menu are really Great!

By JJ F |

Went for my third visit for dinner and was wow'd over the experience! Again, fairly busy even for an early hour (approx 5pm). Two of us for a business meal shared the Salmon Roll that was to die for. I had the Spicy Seafood Soup that was so generous, that I had a hard time eating it all. It was delicious. The other person had the Mushroom Cod which they also enjoyed. Service as great as usual. While my visits to this area are coming to an end, I will always remember the meals here. Greatly recommend this place for all to try.

Amazing Breakfast!

By Michael Dunlap |

It's rare that we have a breakfast where everything we touch is amazing, but this place did it. The Hemingway Benedict, the Millionaire's Bacon and my Western Scramble were all flavorful, hot and worth it. Service was awesome, the outdoor seating was gorgeous. Highly recommend it.

Great find.

By mrkfx |

What a great restaurant. Friendly staff who made some good recommendations , delicious food. Soy glazed chicken appetiser - excellent. SSom main course - fabulous wraps , with beef , rice , miso paste .

Good food, great drinks, nice atmosphere

By chelsie |

The food was good. The lychee-soju was great!!! The service was very quick. It was not very busy on a Sunday evening so our reservation was unnecessary.

Nice Korean restaurant

By wallywilbur |

Thought it was excellent Korean choices . We had the shrimp sticks, Pimped up Ramyun , and Kimchi - all great. Prices are fair and choice of indoor / outdoor seating. Staff was very organized.

Amazing Korean food in San Fran!

By loriwparsons |

Millionaires bacon is sinful, kfc and dipsop delicious, we will be back! Make reservations in advance, highly recommend!

Don't miss this one!

By Greg S |

Janelle at Harbor Court Hotel recommended this place, and boy are we glad she did! Apparently it is better to get there early as we did as it was already filling quickly. Talk about a creative menu, had the Iced Organic Ube Latte, very different and tasty just what I was looking for. The Millionare's Bacon that they're known for (got the sampler) was unique and tasty. The onto the Bulgogi Japchae Rice which was so pleasantly different for a breakfast option. Love a restaurant that leaves you looking at the menu and wondering what you'd order the next time in! Kudos to a creative team!!

Down home, casual and delicious Korean food!

By TravelgalCathy415 |

Surisan serves “modern Korean” cuisine, and we enjoyed our late lunch. I love KFC (Korean fried chicken) so we had to have that, and afterwards, we strolled through a new park in the city! Good value - delicious food (see photos).

Great Service and Okay Food

By Caramia S |

I was really excited to go to Surisan as I was told it was more of a locals place and suppose to have good Korean food. The place itself is nice. Feels a bit different, nicer, than some other places offering similar type food. The service was really good, nice waiter; made some good suggestions. I ended up with the Mango Poke salad which was very good - I really enjoyed it. My seafood Dolsot was ok. The flavor was good however, the seafood was way overcooked and too chewy to be enjoyable. My partner shared the salad with me and had the Korean BBQ ribs. He said they were good, a bit tough as well. The sparkling sake was out of stock that night, we each had a glass of the red that was good, I do not recall the name. The night we were there it was busy with other conference attendees, so much for locals.

Great bibimbap

By Mario R C |

Delicious huge Dolsot bibimbap with spicy pork. Well worth the price. Good and fast service as well.

Best breakfast ever

By AMT6510 |

Lovely little restaurant near Fishermans Wharf. The service was friendly and quick and the food was amazing. Eggs Benedict with millionaire bacon was hands down the best breakfast I have ever had. Adorable interior. Literally would fly back to San Francisco just to eat there again.

Excellent Experience! Make a reserv.; but you will enjoy it even if you don’t make a reservation. Sept. 28, 2018, 10pm

By Jennifer C |

Korean food (like Korean pork buns) and other foods with a Korean flair—tacos Mexican-style with Korean spicy pork (bulgogi), a burrito Mexican-style but with brown rice, mushrooms, bulgogi, etc. We received our food at the same time AND very promptly—it seemed only 15 min. from the time we ordered! 👍🏽☺️ We wanted to eat here as we saw many great reviews and pictures. The prices seemed pricey, at first, since this is a fine restaurant, but the portions were huge! We forgot all about the pictures we saw, by the time we got there; plus it seems like a fine dining/gourmet restaurant! We wanted to stay despite the prices for what we expected would be tiny portions. We are so glad we stayed, 10 p.m. Friday night, Sept. 28, 2018!!☺️☺️ The gentleman host promptly greeted us with a friendly attitude and kindly found us two seats at the bar, as we did not make a reservation. He treated us kindly and did Not show any frustration with us for having no reservation. There was just the two of us and we did not mind sitting at the bar. In fact, we really enjoyed sitting at the bar! It was loud because it was busy and full inside, which is actually part of the experience of being out at 10 pm at night, amongst the younger crowd. There is at least one other room where it seemed to be quieter, but i am not sure if it was. I recommend making a reservation, if having the perfect arrangement and noise level are important to you. They have a nice-sized outside dining area, but they were not using it that night. I am not sure of the hours they have it in use. It would be fun to sit out there, next time. We enjoy the cold weather; so, sitting outside would have been great for us. Definitely call ahead for a reservation, to pick where to dine (in or outside) and when to get to sit outside. I was actually not too hungry; so, I ordered the Petite Buns (menu said: spicy, mini, steamed, pork buns, $19). I asked about how many there will be and their size. Our waiter said there are about 6 very small buns. I was expecting a plate of small, puffy, ball-shaped, steamed buns with a tiny bit of pork inside, like a larger version I get at a Japanese restaurant near me, which they were not at all. I was amazed at the size of the plate and the amount of food I received!!! Please see the picture. It was a very large plate with a huge pile of noodles and pork cooked in a spicy oil, garnished with bright-green onions and delicate-but-large pieces of saffron, all surrounded by 7 not-too-small but funny-shaped steamed dough pieces. It was amazing!! I was surprised to receive these different buns. They were a perfect size, but different. They are flat discs of steamed dough that are folded in half and actually rather tough and chewy versus light and fluffy, and did not have pork inside; but they were still puffy just not fluffy. I was not sure how to eat them, but opened them up, put in the pork and noodles, closed them, and ate them with my chop sticks. (Please see the picture.) I prefer the buns to which I am accustomed, but do not let me deter you from trying these. They were still good! ☺️👍🏽 My Husband ordered the K Tacos (menu said: korean spicy pork tacos, $16). The large plate came with two good-sized, double yellow-corn-tortilla tacos stuffed with the same bulgogi (Korean spicy pork), cheddar cheese, red cabbage, and I think avocado, and garnished with cilantro. There were 3 little cups of salsas on the plate, too. There was less food, overall, on his plate versus mine, but it was still plenty!! We really liked the tacos! The salsas were not spicy, by my Husband’s standards. I only tried the salsa on the left. It had great flavor and was not spicy at all. He said the salsa in the middle was a bit spicy. I think he said it was pickled peppers. To take home to our daughter, we got the Burrito-K (menu said: bulgogi, mushroom rice, yukon mash, vegetables, french fries, $17). The French fries were on the side. I forgot to take a picture if it! I tried a few bites and do not remember there being bulgogi inside; I must have had the bites with mushrooms and rice; but it was very good. It was a flour tortilla with mashed potatoes, cooked mushrooms, brown rice, and bulgogi (Korean spicy pork), and veggies (I do not know what veggies). She liked her burrito very much. I think there was a side of lettuce or cabbage and avocado, or something. I apologize for not reviewing the burrito plate better than this. Our waiter was very kind to offer to hold the making of the burrito plate for later, so it will be warm for our daughter. Another customer complained, on Yelp!, that she could not get a half-order of her chosen plate and that the restaurant did not offer her the views of the wharf that they wanted. The management promptly replied that they run their kitchen at high-efficiency and have to keep the plates per the menu to keep up with the demand and their standards of promptness and delivery, and that there is seating outside which actually offers some view of the wharf. (I paraphrased, of course.) To this lady I must say.... If you want wharf views, do Not go 2 blocks into the city, from the wharf, to dine among tall buildings!! Stay at the wharf and dine there. It is unfair to complain about the view from which you chose to walk away. I am not sure if the outside area was open at your time of arrival, but if it was, you actually would have been able to enjoy the albeit-small view of the wharf. Furthermore, you could have given the rest of your food to someone homeless, instead of leaving it on your plate and then complaining that the restaurant is forcing you to waste the food. Think about a solution to your problem instead of a complaint about your choice to continue to dine at that restaurant. And, the kitchen is very prompt with their excellent food!! I know our views of our experiences are driven by how they made us feel. So, I understand my view is different than yours. However, we could try to think about things with new angles. Also, if we had called ahead we would have found out if a reservation is preferred and more info about the menu, which would have suited us regarding our requirements. However, my Husband and I were well aware that we did not call ahead and were ready for whatever may come.

Yum!

By gloria_in_houston |

Went for dinner, excellent menu! Highly recommend millionaires bacon for app, and petite buns for entree.

Delicious Brunch

By Naf L |

This place has a great atmosphere and the food was delicious! We had the seafood crepe and the beef bulgogi and both were great. Beware the portions are huge!

Yum!

By KarenDeschaine |

Went with my adult son who lives Korean food. We had a great bulgogi meal here. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We would definitely go back!

BBQ Wings!!!

By Mom’s Jams |

Everything was so good except for sitting up front. Every time the door opened, the cold San Fran air blasted us awake at our table. But, the food… Wings, obviously. Kimchi I think there was fried rice. And, some wine also. So good.

Great place.

By Mie E |

Great place. First time we tried Korean food. Even though they were busy the waitress took the time to help us order and make thorough recommendations. Food was fantastic.

A Quick Walk from the Wharf for Great Food; Better than the Tourist Trap Restaurants.

By milack |

While vacationing in San Francisco, we stayed next to the wharf and Pier 39—bustling landmarks folks should visit for neat shops and entertainment. However, there are lots of restaurants to choose from and the ratings on various platforms are not very accurate or reliable (everyone gives the tourist trap restaurants glowing reviews). I highly recommend walking just outside the wharf district to Surisan for great Korean meal. The service was amazing; they anticipated all our needs and we didn't have to ask for anything--even when we dropped silverware or spilled water. We started out with the Korean Nachos, a medley of chips, beef, onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, drizzled with sour cream, and melted cheese (maybe Cheese Whiz?). It was delicious—lots of complex flavors, but not enough chips. We usually run out of topping before chips, but not this time. This was a definite crowd-pleaser. I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice ($14), a dish with fried rice, kimchi, black pork sausage, green onions, and topped with a fried egg and a generous portion of saffron. Man it was great; the rice was cooked perfectly and the sausage added savory goodness. My only recommendation would be to add some more veggies. My wife ordered the K-Tacos ($14), two large tacos with Korean spicy pork, avocado, red cabbage, cilantro, sour cream, and cheddar cheese, served on corn tortillas and accompanied by three sauces. Holy crap, it was great—with or without the sauces. There were two tacos and we later realized there were four tortillas, so you can break them down into smaller tacos. Either way, it was flavorful and delicious. The kids ordered the Sweet Soy Glazed KFC ($10) dish, Korean-fried chicken (get it?!) with a sweet soy sauce, green onion, a heck-of-a-lot of saffron, drizzled with an aioli and served over white rice. Depending on your kid’s palette, this could work for them—the flavors were mild and sweet, but good. I would definitely come back and wanted to, while we were in San Francisco, but there are so many other great restaurants we wanted to try... next time we’re back.

GREAT PLACE~~

By Melissa R |

This food was excellent! We enjoyed this hot fresh meal, we wanted to sit outside but it was to chilly outside at night.

Worth a visit!

By RyCh |

Try to get here early or make reservations because this place is very popular. And I can see why. We came here for breakfast before they opened and there was already a line forming. For breakfast they have the usual American style breakfast but you can also go with Korean inspired dishes. My husband had the bulgogi bap and I had the locomoco. Both were very flavorful and very filling! You can't go wrong coming to this place.

Excellent!

By Ellen |

We arrived without a reservation around 7pm, were seated 5 min later, had our diner for 5 served 10-15 min later and we were surprised by the flawless attentive service and the wonderful flavours. We will be back tomorrow!

Breakfast

By Tim L |

Popular spot for breakfast. There is standard American fare but also Korean food too. I had a Korean porridge called Boosted Jook which was an experience! Pleasant if a little too busy for the morning.

Service was friendly and portion

By Giosuà Rossi |

Surisan is located near Fisherman's Wharf and restaurants around here are usually just ok. However, I quite liked it here ! Came here on a Monday morning and there was no wait. Service was friendly and portion sizes here were quite large. We ordered the millionaire bacon Benny, I usually don't like bacon but it was really good. Very flavourful, thick cut and not too oily. We also got the kimchi fried rice with egg which was not bad, nothing outstanding . I think two entrees would've been enough for 2 of us but I also ordered the French toast. It was too sweet and the crust was very crunchy, would skip this next time

Tried Authentic SF

By Andy H |

Never had Korean food prior to this. Wanting to experience authentic Korean and SF food. Wow! My wife choose the destination and have to say, being from the south, I was hesitant. So good! Was desiring hardy food and assumed it would be similar to sushi. Wrong! So hardy but most importantly it was delicious. Must try the Korean vodka.

Great impromptu find for breakfast

By Amy R |

We stumbled upon this place and decided to try it for breakfast. It was absolutely great!! Millionaire bacon here is outstanding. My husband and I both enjoyed our main dishes so much that in such a huge city as San Francisco with excellent restaurants on every corner, we actually discussed returning here during our short trip to the area. It was the best meal we had in San Francisco. We were lucky we didn’t have to wait to be seated as not long after we arrived a line formed. They also take reservations which I would recommend. Service is very efficient. Absolutely great restaurant with amazing food!

Good service and fresh food

By Melvin H |

When we came in, we inmediately were seated and provided complimentary water glasses. We noticed the staff is very attentive, working hard and assuring tables are cleaned fast when someone leaves. The mango poke salad was good and the K-burrito was a massive burrito with fries. The kids were happy with it.

The Best Corean by far.

By Ricardo M |

Thank you Chef and guys at Surisan . The meal was absolutely tasty, the flavours and the colour of the three different dishes we ordered were amazing. Each bite was a bit of asian Heaven. Keep on the great work and please take one of your restaurantes to Bogotá, Colombia. We need to learn more of you magical food.

Great Korean Restaurant - Twice visited

By Nick B |

This was the only restaurant we visited twice while staying in San Francisco principally because it offered the best value for money dining we experienced. The restaurant was popular with a nice atmosphere set back from some of the more commercial and variable quality restaurants on the Wharf. Good food choice and drinks menus. We went for Millionaire's Bacon Sampler and Dolsot Bibimbap which was enough for two people. Walk-Ins were accepted and staff were both attentive and polite. Great choice for mid-priced dining.

Exzellent Breakfast

By rolf493 |

We had breakfast at Surinam. The dishes were creatively composed, very nicely presented and also delicious in taste. Exactly how it should be! Service was friendly and responsive. Absolut good experience - we are looking to visit again before going home

Korean reunion SF fusion

By Kjetil S |

After 2 years in Korea the cravings is still there. This will not disappoint you, but is not 100% pure Korean. We lived the twist and touch of som additions to the flavour like apple in the Bibimpap. Had shrimp stick as entry an Spicy pork Dolsot an Bibimpap for main. What to do it again***

Fantastic food

By Therese S |

Fantastic food, very fresh and well cooked. I wish we had eaten here earlier on our trip so we could have eaten more times here. Well worth a visit.

Excellent San Fran Dinner!

By blue_skies_928 |

We went to Surisan when staying in the Fisherman’s Wharf area because we wanted something different than the “touristy” restaurants by the pier. The restaurant has a nice, trendy but welcoming vibe and all of the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the glazed KFC, millionaires bacon and japchae which were all delicious. Our server was very pleasant and happily gave suggestions when we asked about the menu. Overall a great choice with a convenient location - would definitely return when back in the area!

Absolutely unbelievable

By KRM |

My partner and I decided to see what all the fuss was about with the millionaires bacon. A lot of the reviews talk about it, and having such great reviews anyway we gave it a go. I am so pleased we did, honestly this was easily the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten. The millionaires bacon is delicious! We both had Blackstone Eggs benny for $20 each which i seriously recommend, we also had refillable coffee for $4 each. Outstanding food, with reasonable prices. Beautiful interior, and lovely staff.

Excellent food, nice restaurant

By dreamisthesleep |

This restaurant is very close to the prime location of fisherman's wharf. The food is good and the choices are ample. Love the pork buns as an entree. Nice little place to grab a bite.

The millionaire’s bacon is a blast!

By z1ng3r |

The Millionaire’s Bacon is a blast! Blissfully delicious! The spicy wings were and the Korean pickles were great. Great meal, together with the great service made our dinner a success

Amazing Fusion Brunch!

By jeremyseda |

I had an excellent brunch with my some of my friends, enjoying the millionaire’s bacon and Pimped Up Ramen. Absolutely the best brunch I’ve ever had.

Service can be improved

By Lorenzo B |

Had brunch on a Thursday and the place wasnt busy. The food was excellent but the service wasn’t and here’s why: 1. We were seated next to a guy who is on the phone while dining and quite loud. The restaurant is huge and has 20+ tables and during that time there were only two tables occupied other than ours. So why sit us next to him? 2. We ordered 3 dishes to share and drinks. Our table (good for two) is two small for all our food/drinks and our plates. What’s disappointing is I have to literally ask for us to be moved to a bigger table and this us after they have served all our food and drinks. A little attention to detail and common sense on the waiters’ part wouldn’t require me to ask for bigger table. 3. We ordered food to share and I have to ask for 2 extra plates. If you tell your waiter that you are going to share food, isn’t it given that you would need plate? As the title of this review goes - service can be improved. The place is aesthetically nice and food is good.

Korean Fried Chicken Tacos

By Stevie Muir |

Passed the restaurant a few times as was staying in the area. Went in and wasn’t disappointed. The fusion of Korean and Mexican works well. Had the nachos then the Tacos with fried chicken. Recommended this to a potential diner outside on the way out who duly walked straight in. Would definitely return

Delicious artistry on a plate

By Cmottley10 |

Four of us dined here after reading the great reviews and were not disappointed. Pleased we read the portion sizes were large so we shared an appetiser and entree between two. The Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) was moorish full of flavour. A few photos of the lovely food. Service was swift and we booked on open table so we could get a reservation.

My First time in a Korean restaurant

By Bradco2022 |

We heard that the food was good so we tried it. I am glad we went and would go back again. Korean food was good.

Brilliant

By Peter H |

From the get go this establishment was spot on. The welcome, the efficiency of service to the most important- the food, was a treat. The bbq for 1 was enough for 2, brilliant serving! My partners meal, Korean chicken was equally scrumptious. It is places like this that make dining out a real pleasure. If you’re after a comfortable clean enjoyable dining experience in great ambiance then try here. Bon appetite!

Delicious dinner! Large portions

By Laura H |

Delicious dinner! Large portions, good food. Spicy dishes. Recommend splitting a few dishes. A Mexican Korean fusion.

Worth the wait?

By ExpoNationals |

Food was good. Don't know if I'll be returning anytime soon though. We waited at least 30 minutes for a table despite having a reservation. Another hour waiting for our food after being seated. Worth the wait? If you aren't super hungry, then yes.

Saw this placed listed in

By Mitch B |

Saw this placed listed in Trip Advisor with high marks. Walked in and WOW!! Great food, delivered to our table faster than McDonalds makes a burger. The tastes were excellent, the quality of the food was great and the service top notch!!!

best breakfast in town

By Claudio_81 |

The best breakfast experience in San Francisco. it's close to the Firshman's Wharf, and it's easy to find. Great dishes and nice place. We had our breakfast outside and we enjoy it on a sunny day. Strongly recommended!

Food is good, ambiance is...barren

By Ella_RM |

Typical Korean food, with fewer non-meat dishes than typical, however these few dishes are excellent. Service is prompt and friendly. The mostly young crowd does not seem to mind a very spartan dining room.

Unique and Delicious Korean

By David E |

I’ve been here for 3 different meals in the 3 days I was visiting SF. Just a block from my hotel, the food here is incredible, unique, and made with so much intention.

Good food and great views

By Lesley M |

We were lucky to get a window seat at about 7.30pm so were able to enjoy the beautiful sunset overlooking the fishing fleet. We both had fish and chips with beers . Service was very quick and we were offered bread and butter. The plates were cleared quickly once we’d finished eating but we did not feel hurried and were able to relax and enjoy our beers . The food was really tasty and enormous portions! The waiter was very helpful and told us to catch the F train to get us down to Union Square, this was great advice and we used this a lot, during our stay.

Surisan Korean Cafe and Grill

Surisan Korean Cafe and Grill was awesomeness! Sunday brunch was perfection with Million Dollar Bacon Eggs Benedict! and the Korean Fried Chicken was the best!

A must in SF

By Erin M |

Best meal in SF. My 9 year old daughter described the Bulgogi as heaven. The staff was also very friendly. The meal was served quickly and it tasted very fresh.

Excellent!

By MommaGiiGii |

This Korean fusion restaurant has a variety of flavourful dishes that arrive hot and fresh with superb customer service. My husband’s seafood pancake was sizzling in its cast iron bowl until the last bite. The love and pride in the vision and execution of Surisan can be experienced in every aspect of the restaurant, especially the food. It’s definitely a must experience while in San Francisco.

Great Korean fusion

By Tanya W |

We had the crab tempura for appetizer. It was more like deep fried crab legs - not really tempura. Then the KFC rice - that was excellent. And the Jap Chae bulgogi - again excellent. The service was excellent! I’d go back if I lived in San Fran.

Late lunch

By thomaslS7009WS |

This was across from my hotel. Large happy crowd and an interesting menu. After 13 months in Korea in 68, it was time to revisit the food. It Boosted Jook. Nice waitress. Sad to see a young man and woman falling down drunk from two different tables. This is something management needs to watch.

Excellent Korean cuisine whatever the dish. Pleasant staff, fast service and rather affordable originalities for San Francisco.

Wonder why this is crowded

We had seen long wait times and this intrigued us and booked a table in advance. We arrived early and sat at the bar. Took a while to get the bartender's attention to order some Sake. The food was nothing great. Very ordinary. The pancake was the best among the four dishes we ordered. The fried chicken was terrible. There are so many great Korean restaurants in the bay area. It must be getting its crowd from the tourists.

Just off the waterfront....

We went there as a group of 10 for a breakfast/brunch meeting. I had the k tacos which was plentiful and delicious with a salad instead of fries. The french toast, according to my mates, was delicious also with a caramel syrup. Everything came out cooked to order and although we overwhelmed the kitchen on a Wednesday morning they served it hot and perfect. The outdoor dining patio would be a great place to have an early lunch on a good day. Friendly attentive waitresses. I'll be back for sure! Just up from the whole wharf area and close to Ghiradelli square. Great location!

Korean-American Fusion Dinner

Came here on a Tuesday night around 8pm and got seated immediately. There were other tables filled but it was a good spot for having a lowkey catch up dinner. Ordered the millionaires bacon for an appetizer. It was $9 for two pieces of bacon and had two asparagus and Yukon potato’s. Apparently it was featured on some show on Discovery Channel. It was tasty but I don’t see why it’s so expensive. It was soft and wide; there was a sweetness to the meat due to the carmelization and it tasted like there was brown sugar and black pepper in the seasoning. Also got the pork mandu soup ($19) which my friend was surprised that the mandu tasted homemade, but I figured it ought to be given that you can get homemade dumplings for a much cheaper price at Korean restaurants. The meat filling tasted like it had some ginger and lemongrass and the broth itself was slightly spicy with a sweet aftertaste. The shiitake mushrooms were quite fresh and I was pleasantly surprised that I liked them. There were about 6-7 dumplings and we split the soup although if you’re hungry you should be fine eating one by yourself. Service was terse and the food was one the pricier side but it was a convenient choice to eat dinner at if you’re staying around Fishermen’s Wharf and you don’t want to eat at a chain restaurant or a bread bowl.
