It’s not easy to eat healthy when you are traveling for business or pleasure, so if you are heading back through Miami International Airport between gates 29 and 30 you will find Sushi Maki, a tasty, healthy and fast served sushi and makis. It is not going to be the best sushi of your life, but it is fresh, flavorful and quick. Nothing compared to airplane food. A nice roll was the “Whole foods” with three different types of raw fish, avocado, masago and a spicy mayo on top, and the seaweed salad is a classic. The Alvariño white wine was the perfect pairing before the airplane nap!! Enjoy!

Great Sushi! Stuart was great! Seated and served me well. Will definitely be back next time! Thanks guys

My husband and I ate here a week ago. The food was good and the service was excellent. Our waiter, Reinier, was prompt, attentive and friendly. We were on a layover, so we appreciated his quick service and cheerful demeanor. Kudos to the manager, Marcos, for the way he runs the restaurant.

The breakfast fried rice was so good. Staff was very friendly and offered great suggestions. We were able to have relax and enjoy a good meal while waiting for our flight.

waited over an hour for ramen to go when they said it would take about 10 minutes. Asked multiple times and got told it wasn’t ready yet.

The staff were so friendly and fast! We were really impressed. It’s airport food but it hit sooooo good. We had the tofu miso soup, edamame, avacodo rolls (our fish-less request) and the veggie noodles. Soooooo good! Thank-you to the staff for what was honestly the best service I’ve had in a long time, maybe ever.

Originally from Miami and now living in Dayton, I never get good sushi anywhere but this is amazing!!

This location serves fresh food, clean operation, and great taste. Stuart, the manager, provided exceptional customer and was genuine. I would recommend anyone traveling in Miami to visit this location.

Great spot to get some good sushi and great service. Manager and servers are super attentive and the food comes out quickly and fresh.

Had a quick stop at Miami airport coming home from the Caribbean. Found a little sushi spot called Sushi Maki inside the airport and decided to try it! Restaurant looked clean and food looked good so we tried it. Had a really great experience with our server Ellina and her manager Carlos! She took great care of us and got our food to us quickly so no drama catching our next flight! Recommended highly!!

My server Ellina was excellent. Sushi was fresh. Stuart the manager was pleasant and accommodating. Pleasant find in the airport

Food was great and the service was outstanding, what a hard working attentive fun team. Who needs a lounge! In particular Reinier was brilliant at looking after us, almost worth a trip to Miami to be served by him!

We were traveling from Nicaragua and had a 3 hour layover in the Miami airport. We found sushi maki and decided to try it. Leah was our server, very helpful and nice. Stuart is the manager and asked if everything was ok, which it was. Will come back for sure!

This restaurant was amazing 🤩 the food was great! The service was immaculate! They even made me a flower for my birthday. Johnny was the best service he made sure we knew where our gate was and had the staff to sing happy birthday to me!

Food was awesome. Came out super quickens tasted amazing. Great costumer service from Leah Stuart. Sure to eat here again !!! Also I got a Mother’s day Rose

We were on a layover for 7 hours and our 1 hour experience at this restaurant was well worth it. Our server Marc was the best (the BEST) server I’ve had in a long time. His recommendations, service, and personality made it such a nice time. Not only was our service great, but I saw everyone else having a great time as well. I created a TripAdvisor account just to post this review.

Anthara was an excellent host. Food was great.food came promptly and had an original roll all really good. I will come back again!

We had a bit of a layover after coming back from the caymans. We had access to all the best fish while there and knew we wanted one last good meal before returning home to Alaska so we stopped in at sushi maki. To say their sushi rivaled what we had been used to for our entire vacation is an understatement! We LOVED our sushi and almost had to come back for more! Our server Claudia was super sweet and attentive and knew exactly when we needed her to come back to our table! 10/10 would recommend.

You may be waiting for a flight to Japan but you’re obviously not there. Sushi is perfectly fine for airport food and the service is prompt and friendly.

Had a six hour layover in Miami and always go here. Relaxed atmosphere. Had the ramen noodle soup. They had no pork but the chicken was good. Hot sake was good too.

What a great welcome smiling team! Dolly my server was very kind, fast service and make you feel not in an airport, excellent food, im french canadian and use to good restaurant always scared to eat in the US! Dare to take sushi and miso soup for kind of breakfast! Stuart the manager can be proud! Im

After an unexpected overnight in Miami, we staggered into Sushi Maki for breakfast before our flight. Our server, Abraham, was friendly and attentive. The espresso martinis were surprisingly good with a strong, decadent flavor and the breakfast fried rice was delightful! Great experience overall - highly recommend.

During our recent vacation, we had a layover in Miami – so we stopped in there for late lunch. Service was fast and friendly. Food was average – maybe because it was in the airport. The softshell crab was tiny and the Ramen didn’t had any flavor. The Fifty Roll was actually good. If you don’t want fast food at the Miami airport – this is a good alternative.

This was some of the best airport food I've had in a long time. The rolls were fresh, the salad super-well dressed, and the drinks enjoyable. Ginger side was high quality. Hard to find better outside of a high-end dedicated restaurant. A sushi platter (which came with a salad), a roll, and two teas was $45, an absolute bargain for an international airport. Service was great too!

My husband and I just had lunch at Sushi Maki at the Miami Airport. I ordered the Five Roll tray with a side salad and the sushi was the Best I've ever had! Not only it was delicious but the texture of it made it even more enjoyable! I also really loved the ginger dressing with the salad, not too tinguy and perfectly seasoned. I also want to give a 10/10 to Dianys for her outstanding service, thank you for your kindness and allow us to sit in your restaurant to eat, even with my husband's takeout lunch, your warm welcome was very much appreciated! Highly recommend!

I been here before i don’t know if the change the management, I order with my family different kind of sushi, was the worst sushi ever, the soy sauces are disgusting so dirty, I don’t recommend this place anymore, my server a blond girl took my order and she took for ever, I ask for some beer and she completely forgot, I think she wants us to leave soon, really bad service.

After a long day of international travel and two more connections ahead of us we found Sushi Maki as we were walking by and saw that they had gluten free options …. Very very rare in an airport … they have a separate menu …. Clean their grills and change gloves! The manager came out to check on our visit as well. Very impressed with Stuart and Johnny! Highly recommend!

Our group of 13 recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi Maki at Miami International Airport. I must say it was a very wonderful experience! Johnny Santiago, our server, was exceptional! His warm spirit, giving us separate checks, and serving us quickly made for an enjoyable meal within our time limitations. The menu offered a good variety of options and all the food was flavorful! If you are looking for a delicious meal before your flight, check out Sushi Maki!

Our server Reinier was amazing! If you are in a hurry, he will make sure to deliver you delicious food, quick yet polite service! Don’t be afraid to stop & grab a quick bite! The gentleman who was helping to clean the tables was also on top of things without taking your plates away too quickly! Appreciate Reinier & his team!

.........and good food too! I arrived a tired, cranky, old woman worn out by a rough day of traveling. I wanted what I wanted and there was no way around it. What I wanted was sweet iced tea with Splenda. The order was taken, iced tea was delivered sans Splenda. We headed to the exit. THEN STUART JUMPED IN TO SAVE THE DAY!!! He mysteriously disappeared for for several minutes and arrived back (slightly breathless) to provide me with the Splenda I wanted!! The pink packet just wouldn't cut it. Stuffed with delicious ramen soup, dumplings, and sweet tea we prepared to slog on to our gate for the second leg of our trip. Our server Siew did his utmost to find me a go cup with a lid.....no lids. Once again STUART TO THE RESCUE!!🦸♂️❤️💪🏼 Another disappearing act and lo and behold..go cup, lid, straw. No hissy fits were thrown ☺️. Well done Stuart and Siew❤️

Food was fresh and prompt. Carlos was an excellent host and Joselito was an excellent server. Best place to stop for a good meal in the Miami Airport (MIA)

Great spot to pop into for dinner. Service was top notch from Reinier, and the food was delicious. We had plenty of time on a layover but food came out quickly and fresh! Will return

We don’t eat fish at all. My partner said look they have breakfast food. We said ok. This was the best meal we have had in a while. The service given to us by our server Kyle was great. The manager stopped by to check on us. All that I can say is wow. A great place and great service.

The Fifty and Two Timing Tuna rolls were amazing! Food came out super quick and our server was the bomb.

Best Rib Eye I’ve had in a long time. Rib eye was flavored and cooked to perfection. I would like to give a huge “THANK YOU” to Abraham for recommending their Rib Eye.

I found food in my hair. Unfortunately I had ate most of my food when I found the strand of hair. It did not belong to me because my hair was braided. When I brought it to the server's attention shebsaid she would tell the staff to be more careful. I mentioned that there should be some sort of discount and she told me there wasnt a manager to assist with that. She eventually brought another employee to assist and he only offered 10%. I asked if I could at least get my coffee freevand he said no. Both employees mentioned that there wasn't a manager to assist in the matter. The situation should have been handled better.

I go to this place every time I’m in Miami airport so at least four times per year. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is very good. Had their ramen bowl last time (December 2019) and it was very good. Their sushi rolls are excellent. Worth stopping in.

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT! Bad Food, Bad service! In less than an hour of the time I ate at Sushi Maki I was in the airport bathroom with explosive diarrhea and vomiting. Missed my flight and had to stay in a hotel overnight and rebook. On top of all that, the staff was VERY UNFRIENDLY and discriminated against me as a solo female traveler. I was told I was only allowed to sit at the bar because the normal seating was for larger groups, despite the restaurant only being 2/3 full.

We really loved this restaurant, 100% recommend, ask for the Colombian waitress, she's awesome! Congrats

Was happy to find a Sushi place at the airport and I'm glad I stopped by. I ordered the Fifty Roll and it looked and tasted great. The service was great and my server Anna showed great attention and her attitude was amazing. Thanks for a great experience.

The smell of wonderful Asian food captures you at the same time you hear the music playing. I checked the menu And looked at what others were eating and knew this was the place. Edis gave a wonderful meal suggestion (ramen with a fried egg and spicy sauce). My first meal back in the US and what a welcome home meal. Thank you Edis and Stuart for a wonderful homecoming meal.

The experience at sushi maki is nothing short of excellent. By far, the best restaurant in the concourse, let alone airport. I stopped for lunch en route to San Francisco. Gustavo my server was very attentive and made real-time changes to my order as requested. Charlie the manager was a delight. The whole team and experience was top notch.

If you like sushi, I believe this is the only option at the airport. We arrived at 9.30pm and the restaurant stops serving at 10pm so we were under pressure to order quickly. My bloody mary was OK, very thin but strong. Hubby had asked for a beer recommendation and was disappointed. We opted for a raw roll from the sushi bar - I think it was the Wholefoods - tuna, salmon, hamachi, avocado, spicy mayo & masago. It's a roll split into 8 pieces. It was OK. Nothing special. Tasted fresh (you could see the chefs preparing it). Your average airport restaurant. Not great but not bad.

Service just terrible, seems like the people who working there interested in your tips only and they don't mind to put them in a final bill plus charge you extra for dishes for them own choice, just because you are tourist, food was very poor and not fresh at all. I strongly not recommend to people eating there.

This place has amazing sushi - wanted something light and delicious for our trip and 10/10 was out of this world. Kyle and Stuart were fantastic too.

Had a great lunch here, Stuart and Ellina were very accommodating with my vegan and allergy friendly diet needs. I would recommend this spot!

We eat here every time we come through MIA. Good food, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and drink specials.

Having transited the Miami International Airport for 25+ years, today I finally found a decent (amazing) restaurant - Sushi Maki in terminal D near gate 29. The wait staff was great, Darianny practiced Spanish with me when I told her I was trying to improve, and the sushi was AMAZING! (So so good.) Sanders the manager even came out to make sure I was enjoying the meal — you can tell the employees really care. I will be visiting Sushi Maki every time I have an MIA layover. Really high quality sushi and nice atmosphere too. Job well done!

Stuart and Kyle were excellent. Phenomenal service. Food was quite good as well. Will return on my next visit to Miami International Airport.

I visited Sushi Maki today. Good service and good tempura. Ordered a few pieces of sushi and average at best. Pieces were small and actually sort of tasteless. The sushi place in Chicago is hands down better.

After a long cruise, we were so excited to get some GREAT service and food. While at the Miami airport we sat down and was blown away by our servers May and the manager Stuart. I mean first class. Never have I been treated so amazing much less at an airport. Top Notch and 5+ Stars.

Fantabulous! From start to finish...starting with a warm welcome from Stuart who explained the specials to us...to the fantastic service that Foag provided us, and food and Mimosas that didn't disappoint. We highly recommend this to anyone! We still can't believe we had such an AWESOME experience at the airport!! You guys rock!

i was worried due to stigma of an airport sushi restaurant but it ended up being fresh and excellent. authentic japanese owner.

I regret stepping into this restaurant. It was a waste of money. And it was pricey, more than usual. Got the edamame appetizer and I don't know how you mess that up, but they did. It was clearly frozen and they popped it into the microwave and you could taste the frozen-ness of it. Then, got a noodle dish that had ZERO flavor and tasted so cheap. I am convinced this was 25 cent ramen from a grocery store that they warmed up. Then, because that was not edible and we were hungry, got the shrimp fried rice. Again, the veggies were clearly frozen as was the shrimp that they had thawed and likely added to the dish at the last second. It had no taste. My friend got sushi and was equally disappointed. I understand it's the airport, but they could at least try.

we were flying out of Miami airport recently and both coming & going we had the best Sushi @ sushi maki...Kyle and Stuart got us a great table and made it fun for us

Sushi Maki at the Miami airport was so great. Stuart hosted us and had my family in, seated in enough time before we boarded. Ellina, our server, took care of us promptly, gave us suggestions for our order, and did not lead us astray! We had the Whole Foods Roll and both had Pad Thai. I asked for extra spice, and it was HOT! So delicious. Hoping we fly through Miami soon to visit again.

Wow! Awesome service. JOHNNY was great, easy to talk to and oder. Good energy and fun! They sang happy birthday for my friend! Fried rice was great and the teriyaki salmon was delicious. We had a bottle of champagne and they brought orange juice aonwe could makenour mimosas. Delicious.

Eating alone on my way back home. I just got the edamame and a California roll. My call roll was a little smushed but the flavor was good. The service was good but they seemed to have a little problem going on amongst themselves. Maybe I noticed because I was eating alone. That's where the 5th star went.

Seemed like a good idea at the time. Wife had a breakfast platter and was fairly pleased. I had a spicy tuna hand roll and a soggy noodle dish, and did not finish the noodles. Service was a bit slow despite lack of diners. Would skip in future.

Why most of restaurant people in Miami (mainly Cuban) treat you like a 2nd class citizen if you're Hispanic? I tried this restaurant at MIA in a slow evening, they had me wait about 10 minutes before taking my order, the server was in a rush and not very friendly. I had a Ramen soup which was very watery and mostly tasteless, the pork is meant to be medium well but this was almost like bacon and burnt, now I just came back from Japan and tried the real thing so my expectations might be too high. Sushi has good looks but just based on their customer service I will not be back to try.

While at the airport waiting for our flight we decided to stop at Sushi Maki our server Marc was amazing!!!!! The food was out standing and quick and oh so tasty. Marc deserves 5 stars and so does Sushi Maki. Cheers, I will stop in again when we are in Mami.

As a person with a gluten allergy, I always dread having a layover in an airport. I never know how knowledgeable restaurants in an airport will be, and usually have to resort to some sort of string cheese. So, color me surprised when we had a quick 40-min layover in Miami and we stumbled across Sushi Maki, with a large sign saying they had gluten-free options! We worried that, with only 40 minutes and counting to spare, that we still wouldn't have enough time to enjoy our food before boarding, but we told our waiters who helped us, Kyle and Stuart, and they were both extremely knowledgeable about my allergy and attentive at getting us our food and drinks quickly. Super impressed with their service overall, and the food was great! Way better than what I would have expected while waiting in an airport. If we fly through Miami again, I will definitely be back!

We stopped here while waiting for our connecting flight. I was so hungry I ordered two entrees; the chicken ramen noodles and also the chicken teriyaki. Neither disappointed. The food was so good here. Stuart and Kyle are great!!!! Highly recommend!

Nikia did the slicing and did an excellent job - product was fresh and the wait staff was attentive and friendly -they did a great job - you will not be disappointed

So we were just passing through the airport and decided to get something to eat. The waiter Alex was right on top of all our needs. Waters stayed full. food was timely and his friendly attitude was just refreshing. then to top it off the Manager came by to make sure we were happy with our meal, and suddenly we didn't feel like we were at an airport food court in the hall. They made us feel like a sit down restaurant that we would love to call our regular favorite Sushi place. But alas it is in the gate area and dealing with TSA is NOT at the top of our "Hey! lets go eat Sushi list."

On my way home from business in Miami, I stopped at my favorite place to eat at, Sushi Maki. The sashimi I had was spectacular. The service from Fong was outstanding. A.J., the manager, stopped by and was extremely friendly. A great stop for good Japanese food in a place with a great vibe.

The food and service were incredible. Rodrigo was great. The manager Stuart was nice and came over to our table to see how everything was going. More restaurants need to be like this! I travel through Miami alot and will definitely be back.

Whole Foods roll was wonderful. Flavors were on point. Not very filling but overall exceptionally good.

Worst pad thai we had in our entire lives. tasted like nudles with ketchup... We sent 3 plates back... very small portions too. the manager said the food is already made by Sushi Maki and they just heat it up...for $17 a person.... Avoid

Service level was exceptional , the manager Joel and server Alejandro made our business lunch experience a great one , we will definitely come back to Sushi Maki (Mia airport location) very soon and will highly recommended it !!!! 5 Stars ⭐️!!!!!

The staff was friendly and fun, and the food was delicious. However, they were slow to take my order, slow to bring the food, and slow to let me pay even though I was pestering them. I thought an hour would be plenty of time, but I was there much longer than expected and missed my flight! :(

We had dinner on Sunday after our flight. The very next morning we all woke up extremely sick. We know for a fact it was from this restaurant because other members from our family who traveled with us and had the same meals during our vacation BUT did not eat at Sushi Maki did not get sick. Its been almost a weeks and we are still experiencing abdominal pain and diarrhea. My sister has had to call in sick to work and my brother and I have had to skip class. Already visited the doctor. Unfortunately the only thing we can do is wait it out. This is unacceptable.

The problem is that in some places they are only nice if you tip…. Well, the young girl who works in this place was poorly educated, when you work in front of the public, you have to be polite and if not, choose another job. I went to order a drink (I got it and helped myself) and sat at the table. The first time I didn't leave a tip because I think drinks at the airport are too expensive to leave a tip. The second time I was going to leave a tip. But she herself turned the dataphone and said “no typo” with a very impolite gesture, I told her, you're not answering, right? And that's where the unfriendly conversation began, in short, this girl says that she doesn't have to be nice, because whether she dedicates herself to another job, with or without a tip, you have to be kind and polite to people.

This was absolutely the best service I’ve ever had here. I visit often , usually for lunch but this was my first breakfast. The food was lovely (nailed the well done fried eggs thank you and the pancakes were scrumptious ) but the service was the stand out factor. Attentive without being intrusive , super pleasant and prompt. I had to give feedback to the manager on duty. Keep it up. I got a trip advisor card to remember the name. The card says Jose / Stuart. Hmmm - doesn’t ring a bell but to ensure credit goes where it’s due - my server was a friendly Asian male on shift on Sat 15th Feb morning. I was served from 7.30 to my cash out at 7.54am time stamp on the receipt if that helps. I’ll definitely be back for the breakfast in future. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Good service - quick and nice waiter. Sushi was quite bad/ faux crab was hard and old; the rice old and sticky and no lo sodium offered. House white wine/ quite bad and the margarita..? Amazingly poor DONT go!!

Service was amazing, food was amazing. Kyle was on top of his game. Will definitely come back and recommend this place. Manager Stuart is AWESOME!

While waiting for 2 hours for our flight we decided to grab lunch, deciding what to eat and none of the restaurant in the concourse serving soup so we stopped at Sushi Maki after seeing soba on their menu. After being seated, our waiter Elliana was on point and brought our orders quickly. She also made sure we are ok with our dishes twice and asking if we needed anything else. Each staff in the establishment also polite and wishes us safe journey. Thank you Elliana and Stuart.

It was one of the best tuna rolls I have had...the Pad Thai wasn't as spicy as I would have liked but the Sushi was awesome and the Gyoza was on point! Highly recommend.

In the mood for some Sushi, first time here was very pleased with the food and service, we tried several different things an all of them were good.

Absolute trash. And way overpriced. Grabbed two pre-made orders to-go. Couldn't even finish. Even if pre-made, they should offer way better quality. Terrible food. Disgusting color to the fish. Gross texture. Worst sushi I've ever had, including grocery store sushi. Just don't do it.

We are here about once a month but usually only have time to stop and pick up an avocado roll to go with gluten free soy sauce on the side. today our connection is delayed so we are sitting in. Our server, Sieuwoemar, was super knowledgeable and also suggested that we re able to add other veggies to our avocado roll. I had also mentioned that we my daughter could not eat soy sauce and he went to the kitchen to also verify the oil that was used to fry the rice. the GM was friendly and also very helpful! Only sad today because they were out of the GF soy sauce, but they are expecting a delivery soon. Love this experience each time, even in a rush! I have to add that if you do not see a veg roll when you walk up for counter service, they usually have a backup already made!

I enjoyed my meal. I had the shrimp tempura soup for breakfast. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. Server, Gabby, was prompt and kind. I was very pleased with everything and definitely would return.

I am celiac so I opted for shrimp pad Thai. Waitress told me it would have some veggies ie broccoli, carrots and soy beans. What I got was an overly salty glob of noodles, shrimp minimal scrambled egg and lots of green onions. I was very disappointed.

Amazing service prompt and attentive. Food was just as good!! Thank you Jose for serving us and thank you Stuart for running a tight ship! Quick and friendly!!!!

Service was good and friendly, my order looked and tasted bad. Needs more attention as to food quality and preparation.

Was greeted by friendly Marcos the manager. Silvia my server was very attentive and a delight. Order the Whole Foods roll as it’s perfect for breakfast!! Healthier than eggs, ham and bread. Very fresh fish. A must if you are in Concourse D.

Stopped in on a lay over. Stuart immediately greeted us and he was so fun! We were seated and immediately waited on by Fong. What a desire she was! The good came out as we requested, a bit at a time. Ramen was excellent, Pad Thai was very good. Sushi rolls and salads were fresh and delicious. Overall an excellent experience!

Had a great time at this restaurant. The food was good, but my waiter was outstanding. Airports are fast paced, and normally the service is horrible. Total opposite here. Sieuwkoemar was attentive, personable, and articulate. Great overall experience at Miami airport. Very happy I came here.

I was passing through the Miami airport and happened upon Sushi Maki. We had a very nice and quick meal but the best part was our server, Allison. She was very attentive and kind. As it turns out, I forgot my cardigan sweater when I left and did not realize it until I was on my plane. Stuart, the manager, was amazing! He found my sweater for me and sent it to my home within 24 hours! Like I said, terrific customer service. I find it harder and harder to find people who care this much. Thank you!

We had the best visit with Stewart and Fernando!! What a great restaurant with great service !! 10/10 for us

In MIA with a very long layover, my husband and I had the opportunity to dine at sushi maki. We had miso soup, California roll, salmon teriyaki, and chicken teriyaki. It was all delicious! The ingredients were fresh and very tasty. The food was served very quickly in a very comfortable setting. The waiter was fantastic and we will definitely dine here again the next time we are at MIA!

Best service ever.Jacky & Silvia made sure everyting was great! They even took time to make us feel welcome and chatted briefly with us. Even the Manager, Marcos, dropped by to ensure all was good. I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen, was delicious. Fully recommend you visit.

Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The suggestions were on point. The food and espresso martini were amazing.

My friend and I stopped at this restaurant during our layover. The manager (Mike? ) was busting his buns bussing tables and hosting. I ordered a roll that was deep fried and it was a bit over done. The manager helped make a new one really fast and it was done very well. I almost didn't ask for them to remake it, but I'm glad I did. Everyone was working so hard and they were all very professional. I was impressed to see that level of team work at an airport restaurant- and on Thanksgiving none the less. Thank you to all who took care of us that day.

Great service. Alex was amazing! Good was great! Atmosphere was great! Friendly staff and management

Great finding a place at the airport with good sushi! Great service by our waiter, Jose. Friendly and helpful!

Missed our flight and was looking for a comfortable place to fill up and kill time. We got the double boat with the miso soup, gyoza and a bottle of Champagne and was very pleased overall!

Stopped here between flights and was greeted by a nice waiter who promptly took my order. Sushi was good but then I got the bill and there was an 18% “suggested tip” included. Granted when I got the actual bill, there was a way to increase or decrease the tip. I was really off put by the 18% starting point and the way this business model is set up. This is the company/owner’s doing, not the waiters, bit it reflects poorly on them when they have to provide the check to the client. Would not come back just because this business model offends me.

People were rude and the food is not authentic. When i went there me and my family were yelled at and they claim to open at 6am

The food is excellent, and we always stop by when we are in MIA because a few years ago my daughter left her beloved and irreplaceable stuffed animal there - we realized it on the plane back to NY. The restaurant mailed it back to us which was a kindness I can never repay! Please support their business - they are really good people.

Sushi Maki in MIA has always been one of eating places when passing thru the Miami airport. Tonight we stopped in after a 9.5 hr flight from Paris before our next segment. We started with a side salad with their tasty ginger dressing. That was followed with tuna tataki, chicken teriyaki and a dragon roll. We also asked for a little eel sauce too. Definitely recommend.

I usually don't write reviews but I could not ignore how I was treated. I visited this location about a month ago and I was appalled on how I was treated. I ordered my food, it came out in a timely manner and I was maybe 7 min into eating and I did notice a waiting line to be seated. A few minutes later I was approached by a lady that seemed to be in charge and she interrupted my meal and told me that I need to hurry and leave since there are others waiting. I was about halfway into my meal and drink. How can someone push me to leave? There is no time limits?? This is totally unacceptable for a restaurant establishment to treat a paying patron. I cant believe they allow management to treat customers this way! Last week I was traveling again through Miami with my daughter this time and I stopped to purchase a drink at the TO GO section just so I could get the name of the person responsible so I can write this review. Her name is Dianis. I hope this does not happen to anyone as after that I was not able to enjoy my food and felt like scum.

Had a 4 hour layover, and our 5 year old daughter loves her Philadelphia rolls, so we tried it...and were not disappointed! Nice departure from all the Latin and fried options. Food comes out fast, generous portions, and GOOD! Sushi in an airport - who would have thought it? And even a decent price! Had a nice window seat to keep the little one entertained, and despite the "splinter incident" from her chopsticks, we still had a nice time. The manager (Stuart) was very kind, and provided a splinter removal device, as well as some sweets to refocus our grumpy child. If you have time in the Miami airport, please given them a try - you won't be disappointed.

Cashier Maria / Manager Saunders I had an absolutely amazing experience at Sushi Maki while purchasing a meal. Maria and Saunders were very warm and welcoming. Maria was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and thus she able to confidently recommend items. Saunders built rapport and made sure I was comfortable with my meal choices. I had the Dragon Maki and the Miso Soup. They were both delicious. Thank you for your amazing customer service Maria and Saunders. Kudos to the kitchen staff for tasty meal. - Michelle-Lée

I love all the food you guys have, the restaurant is always clean, and the service is fast, and the food is fresh

Sushi was very good, soup dishes were average at best. Mango IPA was good too. Great service from Kyle & Stuart!

We had a quick meal here between flights. The staff was so helpful — they made sure we were able to sit, order, and eat quickly! Great food, too!

Very good Tuna tataki and the sushi is amazing! Service was great! Glad we came across this in the airport.

Great customer service! Great manager “Stuart” fixed an issue to my satisfaction Will return for sure

The food ordered for takeout due to busy restaurant but experience was the best in recommendation, ease, food preparation time and quality was superb. We ae vegetarian but suggestionsand options were great. Edamame with chilli garlic dip was excellent. Veg maki, pad thai and fried rice were also great

Ramin is sooo tasty and Hernando was wonderful and knowledgeable. We can't wait to come back. AWESOME!!

Silvia the waitress was amazing so charming polite and funny love her!!! Quit service delicious food , Dianys manager so attentive of us , thank u guys ❤️❤️

Not a sushi lover but granddaughter is so stopped for lunch on the way to Bonaire. Food was OK not great and the service was bad.

Super pleased with the quality of food and service here. Really enjoyed our dinner. This is a great resting spot.

We came to eat breakfast in terminal D and we’re surprised the food was good (considering it’s breakfast and this is a sushi place). The service overall was amazing! Staff was very attentive. Our server Johnny made sure we were taken care of. Johnny was kind, attentive and funny which made our traveling less stressful. Definitely a recommendation and we will surely be back!

In almost 50 years of traveling the world and eating at many restaurants, I was fortunate to cross paths with about a dozen or so amazing Souls in the service industry. It’s truly rare to be blown away by above and beyond, professional, personable, prompt, and helpful service. Hernando took impressive, outstanding service to a whole new level. He is so Heart-centered, authentic, fully present, sincere, highly intelligent, wise, thoughtful, informative and enthusiastic about uplifting others. I shared this observation with Stuart, the Manager, who was also very pleasant; and it was clear that he’s leading by example for his staff to follow. It was also nice to know that Stuart is fully aware that employees like Hernando are an invaluable asset, and that he appreciates him and treats him well. I fully trust that Hernando can not only benefit any business, but is definitely a gift 💝 to himself and humanity in general—especially for the expansion of our individual and Collective Consciousness. Thank you so much Hernando for the opportunity to cross paths with someone wonderful like you. 🙂 Our 🌎🌏🌍 needs more unconditionally kind, highly evolved Beings🌝🌚🌗🪷 like you/You. Continue SHINING BRIGHT🌅 Soul🌟 brother! 😉 Barbara 🐮🐯💖 Also… The Tonkasu ramen was satisfying, especially with the added red pepper flakes and spicy sauces. Plus, the green 🍵 was on point in authentic flavor and was soul-soothing; and hot tea is known to be beneficial for digestion after a meal. I also appreciated Hernando for reminding me about water bottles; that way, I don’t need to stop by a store afterwards.

Nice dining option in Miami airport. The food tastes well, the service was good. So we will definitely come back. One thing to improve is the wait time, considering it's the airport and there are flights to catch. But overall very good place to eat, comparing with other options available in the terminal.

This quick stop for airport sushi was more than I expected. The sushi was fresh, nice selection of rolls. Well managed restaurant with quick service. Our waiter Sieumkoemar had a smile and attitude that was so pleasant. Just what we needed before catching our connecting flight.

Delicious sushi, Dragon roll 👌🏽 Kyle & Stuart took great care of me. One item I ordered wasn’t what I expected, without hesitation it was removed from my bill . Great service

On a business trip. Francisco called on me, and he made what otherwise would have been another regular airport boring lunch turn into a very pleasant experience. Thank you

Stuart the manager hooked us up with a great lunch and was very knowledgeable about what my daughter could and could not have (she has celiac disease and is on a strict gluten free diet). Angel our server was most accommodating as well. My daughter has eaten here twice and did not get sick!!!! Would highly recommend this if you’re in the Miami Airport and need a meal. The adults in the groups loved the maki rolls. Yum!

I had such a pleasant experience at Sushi Maki that I felt compelled to write my review on both yelp and trip advisor. I ordered the Pad Thai (with shrimp) which arrived promptly, tasted fresh and served hot. Shrimp were not overcooked! The service Reiner delivered was next-level! I could hardly believe I was enjoying an "airport dining" experience to this degree. To top things off, Marcos the manager on shift, stopped by my table to ensure that everything was to my liking and my needs were met. Well done Sushi Maki!

Food was great! See nothing left on our plates! Pleasantly surprised to get such a great breakfast from a Sushi place ! Give it a try you won’t be disappointed!!!!

I have traveled in airports for over fifty years and Sushi Maki had the best airport food and service ever. I had the shrimp tempura roll with mango and spicy mayo and it was as good as any sushi I have had in the best Japanese restaurants in cities elsewhere. What really made the experience outstanding was the service. Dolly served me and her service was attentive and spot on. She is a great representative for Sushi Maki. She should be recognized for her service.

Worst Japanese food I have ever had! Don’t get me wrong it’s an airport I wasn’t expecting much, but this was so bad! Chicken Terikayi, was some boiled brown rice and a bit of grilled chicken with some frozen broccoli and diced carrot which was cold. Oh you do get a side salad of some chopped lettuce and a bit of tomato, bland! Plus they automatically add a 18% gratuity for poor service!

There is nothing ordinary at this restaurant in the Miami Airport! The sushi is fresh and delish. The service is professional and personable. We had a long delay for our flight and we spent a lot of time here. No rushing you out. Jose is a super wait staffer and Stuart is a top-notch manager. Try it; if you like sushi you will love this spot.

Exhausted from travelling all day and after having dined out for the previous 2 weeks we almost didn't stop for food while at the Miami Int'l Airport. When hunger took over we reluctantly stopped at Sushi Maki and prayed for the best. The best is what we got! Johnny and Stuart provided excellent, positive and professional service. We both ordered the Grilled Teriyaki Chicken which was fresh and served hot! We genuinely appreciated the pleasant service and hot fresh food, and it will be our go-to whenever we're passing through Miami Airport!

Stuart and Kyle were amazing! Food was excellent. Anytime I’m at the Miami Airport, I will be back!!! Will not disappoint.

Separate gluten-free menu clearly listed which sushi options are or could be made gluten-free. They even had gluten-free pad Thai (made with gluten-free soy sauce so not the same flavor but I didn't mind!) The proprietor was very knowledgeable about gluten issues, e.g. saying they don't put masago in the gluten-free rolls because sometimes it's gluten-free and sometimes it's not. They even had gluten-free soy sauce packets. And my order came out very fast. I'll definitely be back!

We ate here before our flight to Vegas and the food, drink & service were impeccable! Thank you Kyle & Stuart for serving us!

The ramen is excellent. The sushi is fresh. I eat in the airport often and this is my restaurant of choice. The staff is polite and efficient. 5 stars.

Came in with my mom while we were waiting for our flight. We were greated by the manager Stuart and we had asked for a seat where we could charge a phone. Unfortunately they only had one table that was taken, we could of sat at the bar, but Stuart was nice enough to offer charging the phone in his office. Him and our server Fong were more than accommodating i felt like we were at a reular restaurant and they werent teying to "turn and burn" which was nice to have. The food was phenomenal, my mom got the tuna poke bowl and rainbow roll and i got the dragon roll and teriyaki chicken.

This is my favorite spot in Miami airport. Food is amazing! Breakfast or lunch is always so good. My family loves it! But it's just not the food that makes this place so great. It's the staff that make you feel like family. Stuart the manager is so kind and really makes you feel at home and taken care of! Mellisa and Nickie are so sweet and great! They are the kind of people you want working for you! Smiling and making sure your are served with excellence! For me it seems you can't find sweeter people and a better team then at this place! Shows great leadership and work environment. Makes you feel good knowing these great people take pride is cooking great food for you! Keep up the great work guys we love you!

Wow super impressed by the staff service and their bloody marys. Jackie was our server and Stuart her manager were super welcoming. Highly recommended

Great airport meal. Edamame, ginger salad, shrimp pad thai, and red curry were all delicious and our server Allison was delightful! Very nice surprise find!

Popped in here for a meal before my flight. The service was great and the food was served quickly. I had a fried rice dish that was incredibly tasty. It was nice to have a sit down meal in the busy airport and the restaurant seemed to offer slightly cheaper prices too than other places I saw. A very wide ranging menu too.

Terrible food. Cold fish obviously prepared on mass hours or days in advance. Hugely overpriced and all topped off with some really generic rice. I doubt there is a real sushi chef involved with this company at all. Stay away.

Top notch service from Kyle and Stuart!!!!!! Yummy too:) great food, fast serviced too! I enjoyed my meal and time.

We had the best customer service/experience at the 2100 NW 42nd Ave, Miami International Airport. Kyle was the best, very friendly, a listener and proactive... always had a smile on. Stuart the manager is indeed a good manager with servant-leadership quality. The food was great too and made with love. If you are at Miami International Airport, I recommend Sushi Maki for you.

Always look forward to stopping at Sushi Maki when in MIA. Please put one in FLL airport too!! We like the tuna rolls, eel, tempura, edamame. It’s all good. Nice atmosphere, quick service, fresh tasty food (can’t believe it’s airport food).

Sushi Maki at MIA is an oasis in the airport desert. kudos to Francisco and Stuart. After all night travel delays (AA sucks) I started my day at Sushi Maki, and injected positivity into an otherwise miserable travel experience. Special shout out to Alison!!! Stay consistent guys!

Casual sushi place, really GOOD and people are very kind! Ordered a little bit of everything and it was all worth it. Highly recommend to avoid eating typical/unhealthy airport food.

Excellent sushi, Ellina was kind and gave great suggestions! Both her and the manager, Stuart, were prompt is resolving an issue I had with one of my rolls. Would absolutely recommend next time you’re in Terminal D!

We had one of the best experiences in an airport at this restaurant. We were headed home on a layover from Aruba and ordered lunch here. The food was very good, fresh, tasty and with a great presentation. Ms. Fons was our server and she has to be one of the most efficient and pleasant people we have had the pleasure of being waited on by. I stated this to our busser Adrian, who turned out to be yet another great encounter. He was himself very professional and efficient with a great personality. He was so pleased that we raved about Ms. Fons (who he stated was wonderful,) that he went to the Manager to get a card for us, so we could mention her in a review. (An aside to management.) It’s in my opinion as a prior Human Resource Representative, that you are wasting Adrian’s talents. He would make a great server. Kudos to this restaurant’s customer service and quality, hard to find in most restaurants and unheard of in an airport!

The whole experience was delightful. The staff was very nice. Our waiter, Kyle, was wonderful. He was helpful, thoughtful, personable and friendly. Our meal was delicious. My husband and I had the ribeye steak dinner. The service was prompt, the food was served hot and done just right. If we are ever in Miami Int Airport again we will definately eat there again.

I was looking for a little peace in quiet in the otherwise crazy atmosphere or MIA airport. This place is surprising good! And especially the service from Maria and Jose (Joselito) - so friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

We love coming here every time we have a connecting flight. Voted one of the top restaurants in an airport in the nation, this place definitely holds up to its reputation. Excellent options and everything is very fresh! Gustavo is always our server and kicks butt when it comes to his job! He is on top of his game and always manages to handle things cool and calm.

I gave 4 out of 5 because I really love their to-go sushi packs (fresh, tasty, a lot of extra soya sauce that you don't have to pay extra), but I stayed a couple of times in their restaurant sitting area and was not super happy, neither with the food nor with the cleanliness of the tables.

Long layover in Miami and this was near our gate! No regrets. Manager Stuart went out of his way to accommodate our group. Server Edie was great. Food was excellent as well.

Omelet, fruit dish all good. Service excellent! Glad we found this for a sit down breakfast before next flight.

I have eaten over here before and was great. Last Tuesday not so much. The edamame and spider roll were excellent. The raw Spicy tuna roll looked like canned tuna fish rolled in rice. Was so put off I only ate two pieces of it and left the rest. A Burger King cook could have prepared that. I don't think I'll be visiting again

Came in to past the time before our flight to Jamaica for my bf birthday. Stuart and Johnny were AMAZING. Kept us laughing and our drinks full. Exceptional customer service!

Had a delicious lunch, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this when you are at MIA for lunch or dinner

Salmon Tacos are unique! Good environment and clean place. It’s a great sushi option in Miami. I miss the downtown branch

One of the best airport restaurant experiences. I’ve had. The Pad Thai was delicious. Topped with an egg made the way you like it was unexpected. Added teriyaki shrimp and chicken completed the dish. Prices were very reasonable and the service was top notch.

I was hungry and decided to stop here and get a bite to eat, the lady that was serving me today was paying more attention to her phone watch than attending to me and bringing what I requested. The food was good for being a chain restaurant but service was bad

The dragon roll was on point. They weren’t filling but they were really good. One of the best cooked sushi I’ve had!

Excellent food and drinks! Great service from William! If you’re on a layover or have a delay, drop buy and have a drink and some good food!

Looking for a quick bite to eat between flights and landed here and so glad we did. Sushi was fresh and delicious and the pad Thai was just as impressive. Skip the fast food and stop here for sure

Amazing service, food nothing to write home about , tried sushi and Thai fares both subpar, true to the reputation of airport food unfortunately.

We had such a wonderful experience here! A perfect way to end our trip! Thanks Alex!! You were great!

Eating here has become a tradition anytime I have a layover in Miami. Food is good, service is quick, and prices are very reasonable for an airport restaurant.

I was craving for a ramen soup ,so sitting at the airport and searching for a restaurant and of course I’ve found one and we tried the soup .it was delicious.next year you will see me again .oops it was so delicious, and forgot to make a pic of my bowl 🍜 next time I will for sure 😋

Whaaa? In an airport? Delicious food. Great service! Thank you! We were starving and so tired. What a surprise find. Gabby served us well. Good recommendations and super place to people watch!
Great food, especially for an airport!
Whenever I'm in the Miami airport, I try to dine at Sushi Maki. Not only is the food tasty and well priced but the service is fast and excellent, even when they're busy. I have dietary restrictions and when I explained them, the adorable waitress named Gabby made sure I was well fed while still adhering to my needs. I dined for 90 minutes; in that amount of time, they could have turned my table twice (shows the speed of their service). No one EVER mentioned me taking too long. After dinner, the manager, Stuart, came out to make sure I was happy. I highly recommend this restaurant when passing through the airport. Dine-in or take it to-go. You'll be glad you did.
