What in the world happen to this restaurant !!?

By Patricio B |

What happened to you !!!!????! It has never been a high end Japanese restaurant but it was, for San Antonio Tx; acceptable. Today’s food was beyond unacceptable. The worst sashimi I have ver had. The rolls have nothing to do with size and flavor compared to what they used to be Even the house sake was changed to a much cheaper one. We left food, paid and will Never return.

Fresh sushi with good service

By Raven Lenore |

I've been to all of SZ's in San Antonio, but this one is the best. The sushi is always fresh, the service is always great and it's just my fav date night dining place to be.

Good service - great rolls

By Ironman09 |

Suschi Zushi is a good place to take a date, meet with friends or family dinning. I am not a lover of sushi but do try to expand my tastes. I ordered the Stone Oak Roll. I made a very good choice. Our wait person was nice enough to recommend various rolls to me. The Miso soup was excellent. Overall, I found the service, atmosphere and value all good.

Over priced and rated

By Rory C |

There are a couple good sushi places in San Antonio -- Sushi Zushi is not one of them. Recommend either the Sake Cafe on Blanco or Hon Machi on 1604.

Sister's Birthday

By Lelavadee H |

Our party of four stopped by Sushi Zushi on Stone Oak this past Tuesday to celebrate a birthday. I will comment on the service, the food, and the ambiance of this location. First the service: We had a great server. She was attentive and continuously offered us help. She was clearly knowledgable on the menu. We ordered a lot of food and she was always ready to clear away used plates. I wish I could recall her name because I would ask for her on a later visit. She was nice enough to bring us a complimentary dessert for my sister as it was her birthday. The food was amazing. The sushi is very fresh and delivered with beautiful presentations. I added several photos. Sushi Zushi has an extensive menu, VARIETY is almost an understatement. The Salmon Tower and Tuna Poke were my favorite appetizers of the few we tried. The rolls were really good. We had 10 and it's difficult to recall all the names. They really have so much to offer on their menu! Don't pass up the green tea ice cream for dessert. Fragrant, creamy, and delicious. Please look at my photos of all the food! Decor was classy and cozy. Dimly lit restaurant that gives off an intimate vibe. The booths were comfortable and I liked that they were closed off from other booths. Overall Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 We will be back soon!

Best Happy Hour

By cramer513 |

Sushi Zushi has the best happy hour in town. Good drink specials, lots of food specials, and great bartenders and wait staff! It's jam packed with regulars some nights but everyone is super friendly.

Went for a birthday lunch

By Liz C |

There were 5 of us and we all seemed to order different things. It was fine. Lunch was reasonably priced, loud and crowded. Honestly, the people watching was the best part! Service was fine. Food, I thought, was fine. The birthday girl just gushed, she loves the place. She is also new to sushi. One friend there had lived in Japan. She thought it was fine. It is one of those places, if you are wanting some sushi and in the Stone Oak area, go. But I am not making the trip from the Northeast side for it.

Ok sushi, very pricey

By Steph J |

Sushi Zushi offers all the normal dishes you expect from a sushi restaurant. I'm not overly impressed with this chain as they are very pricey and don't offer much to justify the high prices. Miso and salad is always extra here and the sushi isn't anything to write home about. This would definitely not be my choice for sushi.

One of my favorite restaurants

By Sandra Z |

I love eating at Sushi Zushi. Everything is always delicious. There are a crazy number of specialty rolls to choose from and all of them are amazing. Every time I go to San Antonio, this is one of my favorite places to go. The ambiance is very nice, not very wild, just a nice calm place to relax and have a few rolls and couple cocktails.

Visited two nights in row w work party

By DenyseAlbany_NY |

A. Love spicy edamame , tartare and salmon and tuna towers. B. Oak lawn roll is the best...love rolls but do find they have little too much rice in all of them. Request less rice. C. Champagne splits aren't the best...should look for Korbell at least D. Most disappointing is that I live in ny but always visit this restaurant when in San Antonio for work...that said found out tonight the sushi miles card is valid for 90 days!! I've earned $30 and bc I live out of state at high risk of not being able to use my reward...not happy at all....what gift card have u heard of expiring in THREE months?

Great Atmosphere - good Sushi

By Mike B |

The place is busy and nicely decorated. The service was quite perky and they did a great job interacting with our group. There were a couple of catchy items like a saki flyer, an ice cream desert etc... which looked like fun. Then the Sushi and sashimi was really good. We were in a group of 3 and had an enjoyable dinner. I rate the place 4-5 stars.

The best in San Antonio

By Mr. V |

This is by far- the best sushi in town. It has traditional nigiri sushi and more modern sushi to please all pallets. I am a once-a-week client here. Love this place!

Quick and Delicious

By Pilot-Mike558 |

Wife and I went for happy hour. Very quick and tasty meal. Both had a great meal for about $20. Sure beats fast food.

I ❤️ Sushi Zushi

By txtarheel |

The Frid soft shell 🦀, crab, is the best! I love the hand wrapped spider roll, the hand wrapped spicy tuna and the Q hand roll! Lunch at this location can be busy! The have a chocolate dessert that is not real sweet but leaves you wanting more!!!

Awesome sushi and awesome delivery

By Lee R |

Ordered a bunch of rolls and had it delivered to our hotel a few days ago. We were skeptical about delivery sushi, but this was top notch. Very fast service and a large menu to choose from, this is a very quality place to dine in, or have it delivered to your door. You can order online too.

First Experience with this type of food

By L H |

So we have never had a desire to go to a Sushi place but we had been hearing about this particular chain. We were invited to join some people here and decided to give it a try on their recommendation. The place was busy the entire time we were there but we had no problem seating a large group. Everything about it was quite different for us . We found it very casual and they have a large bar. The tables and booths are kinda close together. They have little dishes for sauces, chopsticks (but you can request forks), dish trays on the table with three types of condiments that we didn't know what they were. We found out that one was Wasabi and the other looked to be some type of soy sauce with jalapenos in it. The menu is quite unique in design has an overwhelming number of selections. Many of the items started sounding very similar with small variances. We had to ask the waitress about what some of the terms were to find out that they meant things like seaweed, eel etc. Luckily all of the people with us had eaten here before and could make some recommendations. They also have the menu coded for raw, cooked, spicy, etc. so that helped. Everyone ordered some type of rolls (cooked fish) and then we kinda shared off plates so all could try different ones. All of the plates were nicely presented and colorful. We ordered from the more bland, Saturday Roll, all the way to the HOT, spicy rolls with serrano chilis (and they were hot:) The Cossimo Roll was very good. The Saturday Roll was good but nothing real flavorful and seemed like heavy on the rice. Everyone enjoyed the Jack Roll as well. All in all the food was enjoyed by all and since you get a hearty 8 or so slices in a roll, you can easily share among the group to try different ones. The sauces are varied as well that come with the items. The service was somewhat slow getting the food and one order had to be redone and didn't get it served until the entire table had finished their food. So from sit down to walk out it took two hours. We did share a banana dessert ($7) but was not impressed with it at all. The best thing was the vanilla ice cream. So the outcome was that half of the group would come back regularly and the other half probably only if they were in the area. Again, it helps if you have never been here before to go with someone who has and can guide you through the menu. Otherwise you will find yourself asking the waitress to explain all the terms. Unless of course you are a real adventurer and you just order blindly and hope for the best:) The pricing was I assume normal for this type of establishment since I've never been to this sort of place. Our plates ranged from $10 to $18 each. This is located in a shopping complex so can get to it from Stone Oak going through a center or coming from 281 on the access road it is on the right before Stone Oak. The waitress wasn't overly friendly or fast but she did her job and got all the orders correct. For some reason though the water was "nasty". It smelled and tasted a tad of chlorine. So thinking it had something to do with how they cleaned the dispenser or the glass or something. The tea tasted fine though. As mentioned, the place was crowded so noise level kinda higher since all the tables are very close together. Sometimes we found it difficult to hear/understand each other even just across the table.

One good, one bad visit.

By John and Desire... C |

Our first visit a few weeks ago was great. So great, in fact, that I would have given this place five stars. We visited Sushi Zushi again last night and we were both greatly disappointed. The only thing good, it seemed, was my Cucumber Saketini. The other three drinks were very 'watery', as if the ice had melted in them for 15 minutes before being served. The sushi(s) were simply ok; we stopped after our second roll was served. We also couldn't help but notice that the number of pieces in our rolls were fewer than our first visit. Hmmmm....that's odd. What really killed us, however, was the extremely slow waitress we had. She had only three tables, but kept disappearing for long periods of time. Our drinks were even brought out to us by the bartender (after an uncomfortable wait, of course). We had waited 15 minutes before she showed up again and we had to remind her that we ordered something. 5 more minutes we received some mushy sushi. Blah. As much as we looked forward to coming her again after our first visit, we would never come here again after our second visit. I have a feeling that our first visit was so good because of the waiter we had, who was totally on the ball.

This sushi is really very good.

By DD S |

This is a very crowded restaurant, but the quality of the food makes you not think about it too much. San Antonio and River Walk Rolls were great, as was the salad my elderly mother enjoyed. Seaweed salad also a good choice. This was our fifth visit and it continues to please.

Fresh large selction of sushi

By Lonestar648 |

We had a great time here with our granddaughters. I had the tofu tappernacki , my wife the Tropical roll, the girls a mix of Philadelphia and Vegetable rolls. We started with green tea and Vegetable Tempura. Every entrée and appetizer were excellent. The service was good, too. Our granddaughters asked when could we come back. Even the nine year old enjoyed being a young lady trying new food sitting a while in a restaurant with mostly adults.

Love those Cosimo rolls!

By CocoKim |

I can't get enough of Zushi Sushi! I love this place. It's a great middle of the road sushi that isn't too over the top for Texans like me. I love the edamame (get the spicy) and most of the rolls I've ever had have been perfect. I hear the parking lot can be dangerous for car break ins but I've never had a problem. I also love to order for delivery. It's a great gem in SA.

Very quick

By Ashley M |

We went on a Friday night about 7. We were instantly seated. Drinks and appetizers were served very quick. The waitress recommended their most popular specially roll and it was FABULOUS!

Roaches & bad service

By Departure65816186255 |

My husband & I had a hankering for some sushi so we stopped by for lunch today. The bartender was welcoming but not attentive. We sat at the empty bar & I had to reach over it for napkins & soy sauce as the bartender spent a lot of our visit in the kitchen. My water also tasted like soap & I received a replacement . The salmon tower appetizer & rice were great as always but the two rolls & sashimi were mediocre at best. At the end of the meal my husband felt something crawling on his hand & looked over & it was a roach! 🪳 The food wasn’t worth $70. My husband brought the roach to the attention of the bar tender and she quickly took care of it. We didn’t receive even an apology from the waitress or management. Needless to say we won’t be back!

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent location, excellent everything!

By federuiz22 |

I went to Sushi Zushi with my family (two brothers, mom and dad) and we had a full-blown meal. Firstly, the service is great. We were immediately attended by nice people who gave us a table. The food was good, some of the best sushi I have ever had (Nikkori is first!) and it has a great price. Must do.

Soo delicious

By eg956 |

Had the Austin roll and the Nigiri rolls of tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. Everything was correct and exactly how I expected. I also ordered the raw beef as an appetizer which was also fantastic.

Great sushi and other things

By clifton234 |

We've been here several times. While it is not a small sushi place, they do a good job. They have a bar you can order sushi at or you can sit at a table and order sushi from their menu as well as other Japanese foods. We've enjoyed it each time.

New favorite sushi spot!

By gl925 |

Hubbie and I had dinner here tonight. Brandy was our server, she was knowledgeable of the menu and really friendly. The Red Dragon and Christina Rolls were on point! (pic) Good atmosphere, good location.. We will definitely be back, soon!

Excellent food, good sake list, excellent service

By Alamo-Manolo |

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It is excellent. I find absolutely nothing about which I could complain. The food is outstanding, the service is friendly and professional, and the ambiance is fun. I recommend the octopus sunamono salad. Selfish!

A Distinctive Dining Experience

By PJF158 |

The name may seem odd, but Sushi Zushi is a fine place to dine. The menu offers a wide range of choices, carefully described. The decor is attractive, but not elaborate. After all, this location is in a rather ordinary shopping center. Although not usually regarded as a place for children, my sushi-loving grandchildren rank it as one of their favorite places for dining out. This most emphatically includes a seven year-old for her birthday luncheon--and yes, she did eat with chopsticks.

Best Place we've found in San Antonio

By Charles H |

My wife, Daughter and I have tried several sushi restaurants here in San Antonio but really like eating here the best. Be sure to ask for Tommy he looks like Vince Vaughn and will take good care of you.

Delivery is heaven sent!

By Stefanie G |

I had 2 rolls and an appetizer delivered. They stopped delivering to my neighborhood for a while so I’m so happy they started up again. The rolls were amazing! I had the Monterey roll and the Stone Oak roll, plus the jalapeño tuna poppers. I just wish there was cream cheese in those poppers, but I loved the masago on top. (Hearts).

Best Sushi in US

By CocoKim |

I've been to lots of sushi places all over the US and this is by far my favorite. The Cosimo gives my sweet dreams at night. I crave it the entire 9 months of pregnancy since I can't have it then. The spicy endamame is a great way to start the meal along with the simple garden salad served with two yummy dressings. I also love the Lemon Pepper tuna roll, Godzilla, and Bora Bora rolls. Yummy!!!

flavorfull sushi great for celiacs too

By peacefuldb |

we ate there for lunch, the menu has a gluten free section. They are very aware for us celiacs, they have gluten free soy sauce. Try the tropical roll but add salmon on the outside. yum! The salmon sashimi is cut perfectly for a nice bite.

Consistently delish with good service

By Raven Lenore |

We love this place even when its packed! Huge selection of sake and rolls. The Yummy Yummy is not.to.be missed if you like eel and the Bora Bora is always a must have!!! Start off with the mussels appetizer. Should not be missed!

horrid seafood

By Diana |

My husband and I Ordered take out fromSushi Zushi on 1604 and Stone Oak. The real crab shushi was on the verge of turning bad, reeked of fish smell. The octopus sashimi was sliced very unevenly, and was raw in the center, obviously not sliced by a real "sushi chef" and everything was covered in slices of cucumber. rOverall experience was very disappointing. Needless to say, we will never order from there again.

Frequent flyers

By AliciatheQueen |

My husband and I live here. We have tons of friends who work there too. The bar is great. Most of the time we sit there and catch a game. Drinks are fairly priced especially during Happy Hour. We always enjoy the service and friendly staff. The sushi is crafted so nicely. It tastes wonderful and nothing is over done. Finish off with the matcha ice cream. It's perfect! We also enjoy the dim lighting and atmosphere. Perfect for a first date - like ours - and now date nights as a married couple.

Delicious and Fresh Sushi

By WyomingCowboys |

Delicious sushi. Somewhat pricy but you should expect this with quality sushi. Our last server was kind of a jerk but still attentive so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. We did however, sit for a long time with drink refills needed and table bussing needed and two different managers walked by multiple times and never attended to us or checked on us to see how we were doing.

check your bill

By William W |

I've been eating at Sushi Zushi well before they opened this and the Lincoln Heights locations. It is my favorite place to go primarily for the variety and reasonable cost. My primary purpose however for writing this review is to caution fellow diners about an experience I recently had at this particular location. I'm privvy to information concerning some restaurants along Loop 1604 and I urge you to check your bills and keep your receipts. What occurred at this Sushi Zushi location was we had two checks. My friend paid for his in cash and told her to keep the change and I was paying on a credit card. The waitress returned and handed me my bill. I was just about to fill in the tip until I realized the total of my bill. I realized she had charged me for the entire bill. When I called this to her attention she had little to say and when she returned with the corrected bill she not only handed the bill to my wife, but she just apologized to my wife and wouldnt look at me. I firmly believe had I not paid attention she would've had a $40 cash tip plus whatever I was going to tip her which would've been 20% as she was very friendly (up until the end) and mostly attentive. After this experience I'll continue to just patronize my 'home' Zushi... Colonnade.

Excellent Sushi at good price

By Bob R |

My daughter and I enjoyed a good evening at Sushi Zushi in San Antonio. Sushi Zushi is casual dining. However the food was excellent and the service was very attentive. Even better was that the check was very reasonable. My only suggestion would be expand the wine list.

Sushi delivered fresh!!

By JessieW2608 |

My husband has always been apprehensive about food delivery freshness but Sushi Zushi completely changed that. We have been having sushi delivered for years now and it never disappoints. The wait time for delivery on the weekends ranges from 1 hour to an hour and 45 minutes so plan ahead and don't wait until you are hungry to order. We have only been to the restaurant once on a Friday night and it was very busy, We were not surprised as the food is delicious! Our go-to items are the tuna nigiri, spider roll, jack roll, california roll with snow crab and the boston roll on occasion.

different from our hometown sushi experience but Great!

By Momofboys1013 |

Loved this restaurant! I'm not super knowledgeable about sushi - but love what I always order at home. Of course they didn't have same names ... so I had to get help in ordering very different from what I normally order. We went 2 nights and had different waitresses - both very helpful and offered suggestions I loved! Would eat here often if in our area of Georgia.

Long waits.

By JG |

Last Friday we had dinner here. They tell you that it is going to be 10 to 15 minutes. We had a table an hour after arrival. Every one waiting thinks that there will be a short wait. Guess is an strategy not to let you go. Even groups with a reservation had to wait. The place is not large and a little to tight. But the good is good anda a good extensive menu. Although Nigiri sushi is away too expensive. Over all a good place with good food. Nothing extraordinary !!

WHOA! LOve Da Heck Outta Dis Place

By Rebecca C |

WOW! we were a big group (10) and were able to order a little of everything and a LOT of everything was excellent. Great service to boot.

Yay for happy hour sushi rolls!

By asis76 |

Take time to try the $5 spicy salmon roll because it’s a terrific’n tasty snack! Also, the Diamond roll (the special of the week @ $12) was topped with very delicious yellowtail. The rice was cooked perfectly! Although Paola had several tables to manage, she was very personable and attentive!

Try the soft shell crab appetizer!

By jy8s |

I've eaten at Sushi Zushi several times and have always left there feeling satisfied. I always start with the fried soft shell crab appetizer, which is seriously some of the best soft shell crab I've had. it must be Pacific crab - definitely not Gulf coast blue crab! it's lightly-breaded, comes sliced and it served with an awesome vinegar & soy dipping sauce with scallions! The Chirashi sushi is my usual meal and is always good. If you're a sake fan, they also have a very nice selection of sakes (both domestic and Japanese). I've tried the demon slayer and loved it!

Great service and good food all the way around.

By John R |

I was impressed with this restaurant and I would certainly return. The food was good and the service was fantastic. It was very busy when we arrived a party of 5, so I thought we would have a long delay but they are very efficient and they turned the tables in a professional way. With that said I did not feel rushed at all.

Not Impressed

By maxneo0 |

Place looks like a cheap restaurant because the floors were dirty and bathroom disgusting. But that still did not stopped them from charging 12-20 a roll. The sushi was ok, lucky any of us got sick. Try it if you dare. Also we waited for 10 min before someone would help us and then the server decided to help she decided to gives us a how to eat sushi cones 101 class, very unprofessional. So out of thousands of restaurants I visit this one was horrible.

Consistently Great

By Garyraba |

Really. It has always been a great experience with top notch friendly service and fantastic food. Friends from west coast were skeptical; no worries- they had the biggest grins we've ever seen.

Great sushi

By DD S |

Too bad the I9 audit made these great sushi chefs take leave. We have enjoyed this place every time we've visited over the past few years. Menu is a little overwhelming. Waitresses can help with suggestions.

Best in the City

By Roy R |

I love this place, awesome, fresh and abundant selections. They have it all and it is fantastic. call for reservation as it gets packed quickly, the bar offers several in house cocktails, so a little waiting time can be a lot of fun.

Time to revisit

By fashionphotographer1 |

Preface: I have not been a Sushi Zushi fan for years. So many bad experiences and so so food kept me away. When the wife said let's try the Stone Oak location I was hesitant, but said ok. The food was outstanding. The service was impeccable. I went so far as to even stop the manager and let him know how great it was. I was shocked because I was so anti Sushi Zushi for years. We will now be going back to the Stone Oak Sushi Zushi for many more meals. This location has turned me back into a fan.

over priced

By universeenergy |

this place is okay, food is okay but pricey. the atmosphere is great, service is okay and the bathrooms are clean.

Best shushi in san antonio

By jruiz2016 |

Ive been going to this place for some years now and every time i get the same great quality and flavor, if a restaurant can acomplish to stay every year with its great quallity it deserves a 10 for me.

This is my sushi Mecca.

By NC1313 |

Mind you, I live in L.A., I've had sushi in Tokyo, Taiwan, Hawaii, NYC and just about any other place you might want to argue has incredible sushi and hands down, bar none, this is the business. The menu isn't as extensive as the one I originally visited in Dallas, but this one is still ridiculously impressive. Their staff is incredible - they're knowledgeable, friendly, on it connoisseurs and I don't remember ever once needing a thing. The use of caviar and the thought behind their pairings with an local nod to the crawfish culture, it's all breathtaking. Literally, there were moments when I'd rather savor the taste than breathe. Their take out service is even remarkable - the detail of the containers, I mean they think of everything! Their wine and sake selection is nothing to scoff at either. Really, a fantastic experience that I can't recommend highly enough. If you're a sushi lover or looking for a safe place for your first try, head here - they've got you covered.

A good idea! Not the best taste!

By JOHN BERNARD S |

The whole formula behind this place is the sushi! Itr wasn't the best. Much effort was expended to try to appeal to non-sushi eaters by using lots of mayonaise and sweet sauce not what I had been seeking. Still a very popular place where the millenials gather and so the place to see and be seen!

Worth a try

By aloha2055 |

Great to find a susshi place in a residential area. Service is quick and friendly. A large variety of sushi and other foods like tempura. Also they have cold sake. Lots of parking.

A nice surprise

By WildElMolo |

I tend to be rather picky about sushi, but all of the pieces that my companion and I tried were good. Even though the place was mobbed we were seated immediately, our order was taken quickly and we were served quickly. I'd go back.

VERY good sushi

By Patricio B |

The place is an informal restaurant yet the sushi and their signature dishes are awesome. I'm a sushi lover and this place hits the spot

High price???...Worth it!!!

By MyTrip1969 |

It costs a pretty penny to eat here but when it comes to Sushi, ONLY EAT FRESH! Their food is quality and you must pay for quality, but it is worth it... YUMMY! The cucumber salad is oh my gosh too, so good! I treat my self and I bring clients here because in Stone Oak, it is the best Sushi around! Oh ya, GREAT SERVICE TOO!

Excellent Sushi With Delivery Available

By Ben C |

I really wanted sushi and didn't want to go get it, so I ordered from Sushi Zushi. I had eaten at their Colonnade location a couple of years before and it was great, so I figured I would have them deliver. It was easy to order on their website that has complete descriptions of all of their dishes including specialty sushi rolls. The order was prepared and delivered quickly even though it was a Friday night and it arrived fully intact and delicious.

Excellent place

By Ernesto |

Though I’m not a sushi fan, this place is amazingly good. Savory dishes, original and great service!

Yes, yes to Sushi for lunch at Sushi Zushi Stone Oak...

By Debbie O |

Relaxed atmosphere at lunch, great service and fresh sushi, you can't beat it! Actually, you can the pricing is mid-range, so you can enjoy sushi at a very fair price. I love the Bento Box which gives you a soup, salad and 3 other items which is like a mini buffet all for you. Keep in mind, they don't offer the Bento Box at dinner time.

Love their sushi!

By surfinginflorida |

We ordered delivery twice in one week the food was so good! We get a cucumber roll and a spurs roll, along with a special of the day roll. It takes a long time for delivery (2 hours!) but it is worth the wait.

Very dangerous neighborhood

By lovetotravel1091 |

One star for the car break ins that are so prevalent in their parking lot. Cars getting broken into and the restaurant knows about it but just puts a sign up saying "lock it or lose it". Well, locking your car in their lot doesn't keep the thieves from smashing and grabbing. Bottom line, the restaurant needs to employ a security guard at night. Take down the sign and bring in a guard. Park there at you own risk!!!

Like an old friend

By masterluke007 |

Back again and it was great to be able to sit down inside. The Christina Roll was it's usual best. Had the Flaming Roll- was really good and wasn't too hot. The Red Moon roll was a little dissapointing. Maybe because it's the expensive roll in the house but the poke tuna on top was a thin strip. Didnt meet expectations. This is still my favorite sushi place. So original with the beldning of latin flavors with asian flavors

So good and never disappointed!

By Mobile131272 |

We always visit the location off of Stone Oak. The service is wonderful and the food is always fresh and amazing. We have been going for years and have never had a bad experience. Love this place!!

Waiter impressive

By DenyseAlbany_NY |

Visited from NY and waiter remembered me from over 6 months prior including that I drank champagne. Wow!! As usual sushi was delicious. With large group of 20 for work and service was still quick and for those that wanted cooked food all were pleased as well with their meal. Please please expand to upstate New York. You'd be wildly successful in Albany.

Skip the Yakisoba

By Christine L |

After living in the Seattle area for the last 3 years with a teriyaki and yakisoba place on every corner, I was hoping the Chicken Tokyo Yakisoba here would live up to my expectations, but sadly it did not. The japanese mayo on the top of the dish was too overpowering and made the entire dish taste like mayo. The chicken was also very bland. I didn't try any sushi so I'm rating it average to be fair. The online ordering and pick up process went smoothly. There is a separate side door for to go orders.

Full menu is back!

By smurfjud |

All the rolls at this restaurant are excellent. The tuna tar tar is a superb appetizer. The Woodlawn roll is yummy. They will make up any roll you like, just let them know what you want in it. Service is always outstanding.

Fast and Tasty

By racegreer |

We were there for happy hour and $4.00 rolls. Can't beat that! We shared one of the signature rolls then had to order another it was that good.

Always perfect

By Pam S |

I have to say that I absolutely love this location! I do not visit the others, I would rather drive to Stone Oak. The service is impeccable from the start! Drinks are made to order, and the bartenders and wait staff are amazing! The managers are always sure to come by and greet you at some point during your meal which is always a good thing! They even deliver!!

Good sushi and Japanese if you´re in the area.

By Chur D |

Dishes are very well presented, with big servings even for a Sushi restaurant. The Chicken Katsu curry is great, not too spicy but with a curry kick to it. Huge sushi selection! Lot´s of cocktails and drinks to shoose from, also with good japanese beers both on draft and bottled. Will definitely go back next time I´m in San Antonio.

Best in world

By DenyseAlbany_NY |

Party of 15 and service was great. Changed up order this time with some great picks for what is my favorite sushi spot in the world - yep world. And who’d think you’d find that in San Antonio. Take advantage of happy hour which has good food selection. Must haves are- crawfish boil, first I’ve had the tuna and salmon tower with no rice - loved it even more Han regular way. Spicy edamame has an amazing sauce rather than traditional sauce and tuna tartare was refreshing. Ordered 15 rolls in the party and none disappointed! #1 advice - franchise this and expand first to Albany NY

Great Sushi, Awesome Prices

By LoaBenz |

Sushi Zushi is living proof that you don't have to take out a second mortgage if you want great sushi! In fact, I was so pleased with the Chirashi Sushi, or "Scattered Sushi" Bento Box that I will certainly recommend it to friends who are on the hunt for great sushi. All in all, Sushi Zushi @ Stone Oak is a clean establishment with friendly staff and best of all, darn good sushi.

Great Sushi!!!

By Mgapc |

Everything was good!!!! The waitress suggested a few options... And they were all great!!!I had 2 riceless rolls that were very good! Also had 4 other rolls all great! They were out of 2 of my first choice Republic teas but they found me one I liked.

Not good for carryout

By chandelle |

Unfortunately, while the food is excellent, carryout is not a great experience. For a restaurant that has a separate door for carryout, a few dedicated parking spaces would be nice - walking from the other end of the strip mall is fine for eating in, but not when you're presumably in a rush to pick an order up. My husband placed the order online and paid. When I picked the order up, I was asked to sign the credit card receipt. I asked the hostess if it was ok that it wasn't my credit card, or if I need to use my own. She just stared and me and finally asked whose credit card was used to order, like I'd stolen it. When we finally got back, we realized one of our rolls that was supposed to have fried crawfish on top actually had raw scallops - looked at the receipt and it indeed said fried crawfish. I will definitely be back for dining in, but never for carryout. They need to work on this.

Great happy hour prices

By Ilogjr |

Great assortment of items. Great happy hour offerings) 3pm to 7pm)service was good and the food delicious.

Good food, yucky restaurant. Needs urgent update or at least cleaning!!!

By Lil |

Food is always delicious, but today for the third time I went and was disgusted by how sticky the tables are and how filthy everything looks. The laminated menus are peeling off and are sticky too. The shutters have 1/4 of an inch of dust on them and the little soy plates stick to the tables… this restaurant has been open for years, it should be updated and freshened up. I really had a hard time enjoying my food. We even had to change tables because it was not clean, and the one we moved to was not that much better. For the prices this restaurant has this should be taken care of.

Date Night Go-To

By MrsAmanda87 |

My husband and I go to Sushi Zushi at least every other month. We live in Austin, so our visit here was with couples, but all locations we've tried have stellar food. Service here is better than Austin. Simply, yum.

Best sushi place I've ever been to.

By kanne101 |

My family and I frequent this restaurant because it is so good. We love to bring friends and extended family to eat here and they all agree it is one of the best, if not the best Japanese restaurants they have ever been to. The selection here is huge, even if you aren't a fan of sushi, you will find something you love here. If you do love sushi, this will be heaven for you. They have tons of amazing sushi at incredible prices. You can hardly eat HEB sushi for what you pay here so the value is certainly there, and every roll and shashimi order is outstanding. The atmosphere is nice for a date or casual business meeting. The staff is wonderful but service can get rather slow on busy days. I would recommend this restaurant over any other in San Antonio.

Find Better, Cheaper Sushi Elsewhere

By texan020 |

Meh. Many of their rolls include tempura items, which I do not like. Very few spicy tuna options, and they’re very expensive. The “Bull” roll is allegedly one of their most popular, but it’s tempura, and nothing special other than a weird lemon/citrus dressing on top- didn’t like it and out $18. I am only here for business and I’m glad I’m being reimbursed. I would not revisit. The restaurant itself smells very odd, not pleasant. The service was fine.

Terrible Service - Multiple Occassions

By Adam S |

I went to Sushi Zushi with an open mind, despite the plethora of poor ratings on Google. The first time the restaurant was quite busy and I received terrible service at the bar. I waited ages to place a drink order, get my food and even pay my bill...despite the fact that by the time I was closing out, I was one of two people at the bar. The second time I went was abysmal. The service was sub-par and the manager worse. My noise complaint on a Monday at 8pm was completely blown off. Skip Sushi Zushi if you want good sushi or a semblance ambience.

Huge amazing vegan selection!

By Sheryl R |

The absolute best sushi place I've ever been to! Great classy lounge music, great lighting, great service, and great food! They have a whole vegan section in their menu and trust me everything I had was to die for! Had the vegetable gyoza and tempura vegetables as an appetizer, as well as the vegetable roll, tropical roll, and spicy tempura roll! Our server 'Joel' was the best waiter possible. I was extremely impressed! Definitely my new spot!

Nice place, good food, a bit overpriced

By Biru T |

The place is nice and the service was really good. The tuna tower is an original and very tasty dish. The same was good too. Maybe thw only downside is the price. Its not very pricy but its pricier than other sushi places. Maybe its worth it, thou.

Awesome sushi

By gwcynthia |

Ok yes this is Americanized sushi with many combinations and sauces but it's fantastic. The LIR, and Oaklawn are probably our favorites and the tuna tower is a must, it's just awesome. Look for Logan at the bar, My husband and I think he's an awesome bartender!

STILL THE BEST

By DD S |

We have tried almost every sushi house in San Antonio and never are disappointed with this particular Sushi Zushi. They ahve recently updated their menu and we appreciated the fine service our waitress gave us. Good suggestions and always offering help. The spicy Sushi salad was a new try and very good. The River Walk roll and San Antonio roll were good. I tried the normal cut on sashimi but prefer the thin cut.

Nice sushi menu

By ALRD |

This pace offers nice sushi and Japanese food. Some very creative rolls, made fresh. The service is very good, not your cheapest restaurant but is worth it.

Good stuff

By David R |

Great sushi and drinks. Started off on a sour note, the table was dirty and service was a tad slow. But the signature martini was excellent and the sushi was very good. Recommend the yummy yummy roll.

A small chain with truly excellent Sushi

By DavidaA8744CK |

This place had sushi exceeding the quality of most dinners enjoyed in New York, Chicago, and so forth. Nice setting and service. Average sushi prices.

Dinner

By Kimera C |

I love this place. Food always good. I love the variety of rolls. Don't do the California roll to be safe break away and try different ones. Their squid salad is great along with crawfish dynamite on their happy hour. I tried the noodles one day and they were excellent. Good choice for the wimps that won't eat raw fish. Hate it cause now I can't decide between that or the rolls.

Easy to get to...lots of offerings

By theREALmle |

Had dinner here with the hubs. We had the spicy edamame, a garden salad, a toreado roll, a yellowtail roll, and a Hamachi kama. I am almost immediately impressed when I see a restaurant that has Hamachi kama on the menu. Our food was good, the service was okay. Only thing that really disappointed was the ginger dressing...it wasn't gingery enough for me.

Decent food / terrible service

By Rayado2k9 |

Visited for the first (and last) time with my family after checking out in TripAdvisor. I don’t understand how is rated so high. My first impression walking in was that the place was not clean as expected from a highly rated Japanese restaurant. So I assume this would be compensated by amazing food and service. I was wrong. Food was ok but not outstanding. And the worst was service. Everything was SLOW. Simple drink refills took more than 15 minutes and several reminders to the waitress. When we asked why our food was taking so long -one house after we ordered- the waitress apologetically explained that the cooks took a break but were back and our food would be served soon! This is a complete fail by management, who should ensure employee break times without adequate backup don’t come at the expense of a terrible customer experience. We have been at other Japanese restaurants in the area and this is definitely worst than average.

Best sushi in SA

By Brittany T |

I love the sushi at Sushi Zushi. The service and atmosphere are great too. I recommend the Cristina and Jen rolls.

Great food & ambiance!

By esmermail |

Great spot for sushi and plenty of other selections. I'm vegetarian and I love that all the vegetarian dishes are called out. My son loved the strawberry roll. The udon noodles are delicious. Really good ambiance and service.

overall ok

By Scott D |

There are tons of options here to start. The only time you can get a really good deal is if you make it to happy hour and fight crowds. Food is ok, but nothing that makes me want to hurry back.

Craving sushi

By konagyrl |

Delicious ad very large servings. Will have to come back when back in San Antonio. Excellent customer Service!

Great Selection of Food

By Cindy G |

Love this place! You can eat in, take out or have your sushi delivered. Wonderful variety of items to choose from.

For the most extensive sushi choices > look no further

By ready4somefish |

An exhaustive selection of sushi. More than any other sushi restaurant. I was able to try special sushi rolls that I had not seen before. The experience of each roll is better than expected. You won't be disappointed.

Tasty sushi

By John R |

Great location downtown and we enjoyed the sushi as well as the noodle dish with shrimp. Very good service but a tad distracted due to a short staff, otherwise very helpful. Will return when in San Antonio.

Good foos

By Ashank63 |

My do workers and I eat here at least once a week and the food is consistently good. The prices seem high for the sushi roles but we keep going back so it can’t be that bad.

Love it

By velofrau |

The place is very nice, great staff, and the food excellent. We had miso soup, perfect temperature, seaweed salad (the best I've ever tasted) and the best: was the tuna tower!!! We ordered some other rolls, everyone was fresh and tasty. Even my iced tea was great!!! Just a great experience !!!!!

My go to

By RkblyJamesM |

This is the best sushi in San Antonio by far! I want to try their Austin location to see if it's as great as this.

Sad it was our favorite sushi place in SA

By John H |

This place is not clean. Sticky floors little sewer flies all around . The food change from what it used to be the whole place changed for the worse. I wonder how bad the kitchen was. As a Plumber its not good to see these tiny flies .

Great lunch

By Casey-Marty S |

This place never disappoints with great service and great food, even when a roll isn't quite what was expected. The sushi is always fresh and my waiter, Daniel, was very attentive. I did order a new roll that I had not tried before and unless you love lots of cilantro, skip the Cristina Roll. But the salmon nigiri and tuna nigiri are always the best. Can't wait to go back.

good

By Luciagarcia |

I like the food hear great service, great food. will be back. Went with family they have lots to choose from. Great deserts.

Creative & inventive sushi- Excellent service

By pickytravelers40 |

Ate here on 2 different occasions as I loved it so much! Pages of options but the wait staff is well trained & can walk you through your selections. Also, loved that they had iced green tea. Some of the best sushi I have ever had in my life!! Also, my spouse enjoyed the Bento Box he ordered on one of our visits.

Eating Nigiri here is like going to heaven

By DAMN |

Amazed by the freshness of ingredients. Variety of nigiri here is great as is the taste. Also, the servers are well trained and corteous. What else could I ask for? Sushi Zushi is a guarantee! Keep it up guys.

Hope you don't get sick

By Christopher E |

My wife and I have dined here one two occasions... This prices are high, and both times one of us ended up sick.. The first time, we figured it was a fluke.. After the second time, we won't be back. Go to Express or Kimora... Cheaper prices and better fish.

Excellent Sushi, Rolls, Entrees & Drinks

By Mohsman |

I really like the format and vibe of this chain of restaurants. They have an exceptionally large list of sushi rolls as well as rice, soups and noodle dishes; in addition to regular sushi, sushi boxes, and entrees. Their drink menu is also varied. The service is fast, accurate and friendly. The food is excellent. I can highly recommend this particular restaurant as well as the chain.

I have been going for years.

By Mr. V |

I have been coming to this restaurant for several years. It is absolutely the best sushi in the stone oak area. It's a bit pricey. My family of four easily picks up a $95-120 check everytime. The Toreado roll is great, the kushiages are delicious, you can't go wrong with the classics (California or Philadelphia Rolls). They have great "Chiles Torreados" if you like a little kick. Other sushi places have opened up in the Stone Oak area, but this is without a doubt the best sushi place in the area. I have tried all of them. Highly recommend it.

Good food & service

By skgcdl |

Had my usual Chirachi & others had rolls . All were good. Extensive menu with too many choices. Happy hour is always a great time to come

Have never had a bad meal here

By masterluke007 |

I live in Houston but travel a lot. This is the best sushi I've had in several states including California, Florida, the Carolina's and other parts of our great nation. Sushi Zushi is an interesting mix of latin and Asian. I love the Christina roll. Like no other roll anywhere. The cosima is also fantastic. Had the red dragon today. Did not disappoint. Try the gyoza too.

Great Food

By TCK |

I really like this place. I stop in there each time I come to San Antonio. The salmon tower is really good as are all the rolls I have tried. The service is always on point as well.

Best Tuna Tower is served here

By JD S |

Service is excellent, they welcome you right when you walk through the door. The food is great, I personally recommend to order the tuna tower to share with your loved one, you will not regret it!

Strange Name--Fine Food

By PJF158 |

Sushi Zushi offers a remarkably diverse menu of sushi and other Japanese items, in an attractive atmosphere and fine service. The beverage lit includes both Japanese and Western beers and wines and even soft drinks (try Remune). Sushi lovers will be delighted, others will likely leave hungry. My grandson, now fifteen, ranks SZ as one of his favorite dining treats when I visit San Antonio.

Sunday Evening Birthday Celebration

By phfoxworth |

We celebrated my daughter's 29th birthday at Sushi Zushi on a Sunday evening. The food was good. They made one mistake on one order; however it was corrected and comped on the bill. The wait staff was friendly; they could have come by a little more frequently. Nice part is they did not make us feel rushed. Good, fresh sushi. The blackberry cocktail was fabulous. My daughter enjoyed her evening.
