I am reviewing the Plano location, which does not show up in TripAdvisor. There is one cupcake option if you're looking for no gluten ingredient. ( They can't claim gluten free since it's not a dedicated gluten free facility. ) It is a flourless chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting. I like my flourless chocolate cake to be rich, moist and dense. I applaud them for having gf options. However, this cake is crumbly/ too dry and overly sweet, masking the chocolate flavor. The frosting makes it that much more sweet, which is overkill for me. The day I visited, they also had a couple gluten free cookies, peanut butter and oatmeal raising, and vanilla pudding. I didn't try any of those. I would say this bakery is not worth your while if you're looking for a gluten free cupcake. If you're looking for a rich chocolatey dessert, go down the street to Eatzi's instead for a chocolate oblivion.

SusieCakes is a must-try treat place! Great staff. Yummy cupcakes, cookies and more. A new favorite!

We have enjoyed the Plano location; however, today I bought what was supposed to be a "Pumpkin Chocolate Chip" cookie. It was a good size cookie but had only 3 chocolate chips in the whole thing. Not what I was expecting.

Stopped in to grab something to take home. My husband had a red velvet cupcake. I had the chocolate gluten free (flourless). I grabbed a cookie for each kid, one was a football with fondant icing and one was a sweetheart sandwich cookie. It had icing in the middle with sprinkles on top. All were great! It was $13 for the 4, not bad. Our cashier's name was Navy, she was very sweet and helpful. She made the recommendations.

On the advice of a friend, I downloaded the Susiecakes app. With my two free cupcake coupon I flounced in and ended up with cupcakes, cookies and pie! The PB&J cupcake was remarkable. The coconut cupcake, divine! Everything else was exquisite and I can't wait to go back!

We got cupcakes here and they were about the driest things I've ever had. We threw them away. The staff was really nice, but that can't make up for the terrible cupcakes.

We had a sweet tooth after dinner so we walked over to Susie cakes. The old fashioned chocolate cake is the best I've ever had! Helpful, friendly service. Everything looks so good that's hard to choose! The only negative was that they only have one table.

You come here for Dessert, they have cakes, cupcakes, cookies and Pies and they are delicious! Have been to them out in California and was so excited to see they just opened in Dallas. My personal favorites are the Lemon Cake and Carrot Cake. If you are looking for a special treat, definitely go here.

I LOVED the chocolate cake that I got here. It is 6 layers of decadent chocolate. I also got some cupcakes. They were filled with frosting. I also got the ice cream sandwich which was delicious! Would recommend this bakery for sure. You can also buy cake by the slice.

The cupcakes I bought truly taste like homemade with fresh ingredients. The store is clean and pleasant. You can buy whole cakes here and a slice if you are only craving a slice of cake! So much better than other over-rated cupcake places!

they never fail to please, when we stop, for dessert, after dinner, somewhere else, in the hood. Love the peanut butter cookies and lemon cheesecake

Stopped here while at a volleyball tournament. Had the mocha and chocolate cupcakes. They were delicious!! The icing was soft and airy with just the right amount of sweetness!! The cake part was very moist!! Will definitely make this one of our stops when we are in Dallas.

Very tasty cakes - usually about 8 different kinds. Good cupcakes. One small table to enjoy your dessert on site. The owner said she runs this shop and one in Cali. Lots of locals in and out.

Couldn't resist stopping in this bakery after lunch across the street at Hopdoddy's. Between the four of us, we tried the cake, cupcakes, and cookies. All were scrumptious. Presentation and packaging were a real treat, and make extra special gifts.

We purchased a lemon cake for our son's birthday and had it personalized. It was perfect! Not only was the inscription perfect, the cake was moist and delicious, our family (especially the birthday boy) loved it!

This was our first visit to Susie Cakes we selected the red velvet and vanilla cupcake and a slice of coconut cake. The red velvet cake was great, the best part was the cream cheese frosting which was rich, buttery and creamy. The vanilla cupcakes were good also however they were a little dense and so was the coconut cake. The cupcake had the colored icing which seemed to leave a bit of an after taste. We went during the week around lunch time when there wasn't a line. We were able to get in and out very quickly. This bakery is located on the corner, parking is a bit of a challenge because it is a busy shopping complex. It's a nice bakery and it draws you in with the wonderful display of sweet treats. They have cakes, cookies, bars, cupcakes, pies and cheesecake. It's really a dessert lovers dream! I lowered my rating because of the white cake being dense. Overall, I will return!

I've frequented this bakery at least a dozen times and live nearby. Their cakes are fantastic and cookies are wonderful. Pies are pretty great as well. We've never been disappointed - except when they are sold out of a favorite item. In this shopping center are several other bakeries, but none are as good as this one is consistently.

I ordered a Susiecake for my spouse’s birthday. It was way too expensive considering there was maybe 25% cake and 75% frosting. The quality was disgustingly terrible. There were several layers. The actual cake layers were about 1/2” thick. The frosting in between each layer was about 3/4”. The top and side had about 3/4” of frosting too. I now know why it was cold. When we got it home and left it sit on the table it started to “thaw”. None of the adults could eat more than a bite before politely opting out. Only one of the kids persevered , but only ate the cake part, leaving rows of frosting behind. Later, we noticed each of the layers slid off, creating a literal pile of crap on the table. We were so embarrassed!

I really love this bakery. I stopped in to pick up a cake to take to a dinner. It was gorgeous - the green mint color - with several layers - is the one I picked. Everyone at the dinner loved it. There was a little left over that I split with the hostess. I hid the left over triangle of delicious cake in my freezer once I got home. I then rationed it out over the next week in small sized increments for breakfast. No, I didn't share, no I don't feel guilty about hiding it in the freezer, and no I have no shame for eating it for breakfast with a cup of tea !! I would do it ALL again.

Whenever we have a birthday or celebration, I order from Susie Cakes! I love the 6 inch cake which is just enough for 6-8 people without a lot of leftovers! The cakes are delicious and moist and the icing is to die for !! The layers are thin and about 6 layers! They are not only delicious but pretty. You have to order 2 days ahead! The cupcakes are amazing too!

Cute shop, very nice owner, and really good treats! The marble cake is my favorite. Better than Carlos' Bakery, hands down!

We just bought one vanilla and one pineapple upside down cupcake and were so disappointed! The pineapple cupcake had a funny taste, couldn't taste any pineapple and was too dense. The Vanilla one tasted nice but again was very dense/heavy which felt like it wasn't fresh! Both our cupcakes went straight in the bin after one bite! Total waste of money. Maybe the cakes would have been a better option? Unfortunately we won't be giving them a second chance to find out!

I see this falls into "restaurant" category, but it's a bakery, a small spot so you'll be buying and going. I've yet to try any of the cakes, but am pleased to see that in addition to a whole cake one can purchase a slice. Have tried the cupcakes -- red velvet and chocolate. EXCELLENT! I'd rate this new bakery .... (well, new to the Dallas area) as one of the best. Although my tastings have been limited to cupcakes, coffee cake (very good) and seasonal muffin (as of now it's blueberry) I have had several friends who've also been here and concur it's quite good. You may ask .... how does it compare to "Society Bakery"? Tough call .... my review of Society Bakery is from 2014, however I still enjoy their cupcakes. Admittedly, Society Bakery offers a few flavor that SusieCakes does not make ..... because this bakery is in the Preston Center neighborhood of Dallas, then may be appropriate to compare it to other bakeries in nearby area ... (i.e. Sprinkles and recently opened Carlos of 'cake boss' fame). I think SusieCakes is well on its way to attracting a following and does not disappoint!

We went to dinner across the street at Hopdoddy's before stopping int o Susie Cakes to celebrate National Dessert Day. We knew better than to go in hungry, but it really didn't help. SO. Many. Choices! Here's the run down on the things we tried: Tropical Coconut cake slice: Very moist. Very rich. I am often turned off by the texture of fruit in a frosting, but it was so good. I love coconut cake, and this was one of the best. Marble Cake Slice: Very moist, very rich, very dense. Chocolate frosting was very good too. Would absolutely get this again, Apple Crumble Pie: SO CUTE! Its a little 6" pie. It would be a darling little gift for someone. Very tasty. Blondie: (It might have been called a Halloween something...we can't remember) Very good. Dense. Buttery flavor Peanut Butter frosting filled cupcake: This was the only cupcake we tried. It was fantastic if you love frosting (which I do). Chocolate cake was very good and the peanut butter flavor of the frosting was very good. Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie: Two huge and very tasty, dense, peanut butter cookies with peanut butter frosting in between. It can't really be eaten as a normal cakelike whoopie pie. The cookies are heavier than that. It was fantastic. Chocolate Whoopie Pie: Similar to the above, but chocolate cookies and vanilla frosting. had to eat the cookies individually, but very good. We had a chocolate chip cookie in our bag that we did not order or pay for when we got home. Not sure if that was a bonus or an error, but it was really good too. As we were wrapping up our ridiculous transaction, we mentioned our dog and the sales person added some treats for her as well. She LOVED them! We will surely be back. Lots of competition in that neighborhood with Carlos and Sprinkles right there, but er really loved it.

Walked by this place many times. My wife's sister and husband wanted to try it so we did. I had the Whoopie-pie. It was very different! It was 2 huge chocolate , chocolate chip cookies instead of devil's food cake and an Italian cream instead of a sugary Crisco cream. It was rich and delicious. So rich i had to take half home with me. My wife had the carrot cupcake which was good as well. The only drawback is the prices were a secret and like most bakeries today way to expensive.

This corner bakery is fantastic! Cupcakes, cookies, custom orders - it's all delicious. You can even get a massive slice of cake (and there are plenty to choose from) for about the cost of a sprinkles cupcake.

SO many amazing options here. The birthday cake is to die for, as is the carrot cake. The peanut butter whoopie pie sandwiches are decadent and heavenly. The chocolate version is like a delicious, fresh Oreo on steroids. The sprinkles cookies with icing between are sinfully great. Best new bakery in Dallas by a long shot!

Meghan, was so courteous, professional, and patient with me. Very last minute I needed a custom funfetti birthday cake made for my little sister’s birthday. I went to the Luther Ln location hoping they might be able to help me. I was unsure of what to expect at first and was admittedly nervous about the final product with the so many ideas, requests and pictures I gave to Meghan days before. She assured me everything would be fine, and in truly upstanding fashion, they delivered!! The cake was sooooo beautiful from the outside to how pretty it was when she cut it. It exceeded my every expectation - taste, decoration, and candles EVERYTHING about it was perfect. My sister was not only surprised that I was able to have her cake made in time and that it was exactly what she wanted. Everyone was so blown away. Thank you for making her birthday a beautiful and memorable day!! . I highly recommend this bakery! I can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff and how delicious everything is..

Susie Cakes came recommended, but we were disappointed. Cupcakes were dry, and overpriced. Only 1 small table if you want to eat in.

I was VERY popular At the office today thanks to SusieCakes. The Mocha cupcake was the far and away biggest hit. The cake on all of the cupcakes is much more moist than typical cupcakes. We are excited to find this place. The brownie was perfection. We look forward to returning!

We all loved the chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies. We especially loved the wonderful service provided at the store.

Second outing to Susie Cakes! I am completely in love with the traditional chocolate cake! The shortbread cookies, Italian cream cake, and tropical coconut cake are delicious. The only bad thing we have had was the strawberry cupcake and none of us like it. I am dying to try their coconut cream pie next time!!!!

Craving something sweet after lunch or dinner at a nearby restaurant? Well, I highly recommend Susiecakes! I have only tried their mocha, lemon, and red velvet cupcakes and they did not disappoint! I was initially disappointed with the lack of variety of frostings (American buttercream and cream cheese) but the frosting were light and airy. Another great thing about the frosting was that it was not to overally sweet! The ratio or cupcake and frosting was perfect as well. The bread really didn't need frosting because it was moist and flavorful but who would eat a cupcake without frosting, I know I wouldn't. The restaurant was clean and has a huge window into the baking area. The only thing that I didn't like was that the was only 1 table with 4 chairs. So my family had no where to sit and chow down our treats. Aside from that, I'm in love with their cupcakes and I can't wait to try their other confections.

We had the carrot cake and it is good but it would be great without the raisins. I know, that is a personal preference but I don’t care for the taste of them in the cake. We also got the current seasonal flavor of pumpkin spice cake...yummy! But you still cannot beat the vanilla celebration cake, tropical coconut cake, chocolate layer cake, and the shortbread cookies!
Susie you're the best
The cakes are moist with great icing. I would recommend the red velvet and celebration cake (seen in the photo.)You can even buy bite size if you are on a diet and still want to try it. There is usually a line, but it moves fast.
