On the 2/12/16 our last morning in San Francisco while waiting for our rental vehicle which arrived late we had breakfast at this restaurant which was just a few paces away from our hotel. We sat there looking at the menu in awe 😳 Eventually I asked the waitress if they don't have "meals for kids or children portions" and she smiled and said if the breakfast is too big we could share 😳😅 We had a lovely enjoyable 👌last and adieu meal in San Francisco till next time 😜 The staff on duty was friendly and very courteous. Next time the Sutter Pub and Restaurant will be our first port of call for a meal. Thank you to the Sutter Pub and Restaurant. Ennio and Joey The menu has a very wide and "yummy" choice of meals.

Thought we would try the breakfast here before heading to the wharf and we were not disappointed! Great menu selection, the food was perfect and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for from a small neighborhood restaurant.. we would definitely recommend it!

Visited this pub for dinner and drinks after a day on my feet. Nice selection of local, imported and craft beers. Menu is mainly pub fare. Good atmosphere, and the clientele seemed to consist mainly of locals.

This is one of my most favorite places to eat or just have drinks. I highly recommend the burgers. They have the best onion rings.

What a surprise- our first meal in San Francisco at this small friendly pub/restaurant was a great introduction to the city. Our late breakfast omelettes and fried potatoes were just right. The portions were enough to keep us going until our late dinner. And a glass of great California wine completed our meal. The waitress and patrons were friendly and willing to share and give us info. And advice about the city. Don't miss this Sutter St. Gem. Welcoming and warm. Prices were very good.

Food was good with quick service. Quite a few local draught ales on tap which nice to see, plus some English imported ones too.

This is a small pub which seems to fill up - looks like it seats around 32 total counting the bar. Nice menu variety - I had the fish and chips - husband had the Pub Club. Both were well prepared and very tasty. TVs above the bar play sporting events. It wasn’t overly noisy even though seating is tight and close together. We really enjoyed the decor - service was very good too.

Great English draft selection and well stocked bottle beer and wine. Nachos with chicken were good although fresh jalapeños versus pickled are always better.

It was really nice. Small space but not too many people. Anybody can enjoy meal by one self. I also visit alone. Good tasty and kind staff. I ate BBQ chicken. It's best dinner in my SF trip. Moreover there are four TV, so I could watch multiple channel for sports. I strongly recommend this bar and restaurant. Reasonable price and lovely menus as well! 4:00-6:30 there is happy time. So some beer and drinks, chips, snack and so on are cheaper than other time.

This is our breakfast place when in The City and often a good choice for lunch as well. The staff is friendly and very generous. Neighborhoods need more places like this!

Only came for a drink, but the menu was tempting. Popular on a Sunday night! We sat at the “lower bar” and really enjoyed it.

We ate here several times. Enjoyed a few beers the food was good the Lil bar was clean good service. Although was just a beer bar

My friends and I on our first night in San Fran came in for a drink. The waitress could not have been more rude towards us. Not only did she seem completely uninterested in us, but when we asked what ingredients were in a cocktail, she actually told us to ‘go to another bar down the block’. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable in a bar. Turns out we actually did go to another bar and gave them our custom all night.

Visited this evening and were extremely disappointed with meal and value for money. We ordered the calamari to share for starters then had the fish and chips and the steak for mains. The batter on the fish was burnt, the coleslaw serving was miniscule - but at least it was ok. The steak came with a healthy serving of vegetables which was just as well as the steak itself was inedible. It was over cooked and the salt/garlic taste was disgusting. The dish was served with a large blob of mashed potatoes. Shared calamari, fish & chips, steak and a glass of wine each came to $90usd. What a disaster. Don’t go.

The food was good, the atmosphere was excellent in this miniature pub. The service was first rate. I had the fish and chips, the chips were great, but the fish lacked that explosion of moisture one expects when biting into a traditional fish portion. The Ahi salad was large and tasty with Ahi just seared. The star was the soup of the day, a vegetable beef soup that was outstanding.

On our honeymoon, my husband was adamant on stopping at a pub, hesitant to eat here - we did and let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised ! The food & service was fantastic !!! Great selection of beers (which my husband loved) and great food choices - which I loved !! Small place but worth it !

We stopped at this corner pub, close to our hotel, for a quick meal on our first day in SF. The server welcomed us promptly, brought our drinks quickly, then came back for our food order. We had a burger and bangers and mash, both delicious and reasonably priced. The place was small and full, but the patrons were friendly -- three couples sitting close by chatted with us about the food and drink. One note -- the only cocktails featured soju, a Korean liquor, otherwise it's beer and wine.

Had a great chicken burger there. Tasty and big. Absolutely recommendable. Place feels like a pub (which it is). Place is quite small though so there's a risk it's full.

Sutter Pub is a typical corner pub offering typical pub food - hamburgers, fish & chips, mac & cheese, etc. The food is pretty tasty, the portions are substantial, and the prices for food are very reasonable (the beer is a little pricey). Overall, it is a good choice when you want a simple meal and don't want to spend a lot of money.

Was the Thanksgiving day! Visited the Sutter Pub to eat the traditional turkey! Was tasty, also the potato puffs and turkey stuffing. Drink a glass of Guinness. The pumpkin cake not good, sorry.

We dropped by for lunch. Both had a burger and they were great. A little more expensive than I'd have thought, given its quite far from Union Square. Service is efficient, if a little frosty. Small place, so may have to wait for a table. Large screen tv's all around showing various sports. Defo worth a visit for the burger.

We enjoyed the quick and friendly service in this cozy pub. The best part was ordering exactly was having it fixed perfectly.

In our search for the perfectly poured pint of the dark stuff we stumbled across this great pub. They’ve got it right on both occasions. The food is fab. Dark stuff well poured. I just wished we had found this place earlier in the stay.

We came here for dinner on our last night in San Francisco, and enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service so much that we returned for breakfast the next morning before heading to the airport. Good variety on the menu, and a nice selection of beers as well. (My husband was impressed that they actually had the correct glass for the Belgian beer he ordered.)

We stayed on Sutter Street and saw this pub on the corner. Ordered the Gold Rush Skillet and shared it. Plenty of food! Friendly service.

Sutter Pub is a great place to hang out. They have very good food and service and a good selection of craft beers. One of the few establishments that have a happy hour. We ate lunch and dinner here and no disappointments.

Despairing of finding a diner without a lineup while on a trip to San Francisco in the days around the 4th of July ,my son & I stumbled into this pub which does an all day breakfast. It was more or less empty .It didn't deserve to be . We enjoyed hearty generously proportioned breakfasts , an omelette and French Toast respectively .The only regret was that I never found time to return to see the place in action as a pub.

We did couple of breakfasts there, because it was close to our hotel and recommended by staff. Food good. Service fair. Pricey, but then it is downtown SF.

We found this restaurant very handy, near out hotel, and where we usually ended up for breakfast. (All were especially good)This place had better than average pub food. Husband said his hamburger was delicious. My ahi tuna salad was huge, fresh, and delicious.

We went here for an evening meal as we just wanted pub type fare and it was fairly close to our hotel. The pub is nice and cozy inside, busy when we visited but we were served quickly. The burger and the fish and chips were better than average but not the top notch. Staff were friendly enough and the ale was good. Would we visit it again? Yes, but only when we wanted food without the frills.

We stopped in for a drink and appetizer. It is not a very big place (41 seats by my count), but definitely has a pub feel to it. The food and service were good. They also have a nice assortment of beverages.

Baja omelet was excellent. My wife had the baja omelet which was also excellent. Quaint pub where you can watch Wimbledon or The Open over a very good breakfast and/or drinks.

DH and I wandered down to Sutter Pub from our hotel. DH suggested we split a salad. I threw a fit and said "No way." We absolutely could have split this salad. I took much of it back to the hotel and never got to finish it. It was very, very good and I have plans to attempt its re-creation at home. (Did I mention it was delicious?) Service was attentive.

great hidden gem, the door is always closed but don't pass it by , brilliant . loads of English beers , great food , no dearer than down in fishermans wharf , had breakfast there and huge cobb salad , very tasty

Ordered the fish and chips and it was okay. The fish was okay, didn't end up eating it all because something tasted a little off. The tarter sauce was just okay too, I wouldn't order this again if I went to this restaurant. The calamari was good though as an appetizer, would order that.

This pub serves quality standard American diner food; consistently good food! And the staff are quite friendly. It probably only seats about 30, but I have never had to wait for a seat. Locals and tourists seem to like it just the same.

We had breakfast and then hamburgers. Food was really good and wait staff accommodating. Full bar with TVs -great bar seating.

Came here randomly because our first choice was full. The place is nicely decorated and looks very similar to an English pub. The food choice was good and the drink service was quick. I had a burger and fries and was happy with this. Unfortunately my boyfriend was less impressed with his “full English breakfast”. The beans were American beans, the sausages tasted like hot dogs rather than bangers as promised and the eggs undercooked. Service was ok but not excellent, food was slow to come out.

Great Pub grub, fish and chips, shepherd's pie, bangers and mash etc etc. Friendly staff, great selection of American and International beers. Cosy atmosphere, it's not a big place. If you're in the area it's certainly worth a visit. I went twice, first time just for before dinner drink, then the following day for lunch. Well worth it.

Small and popular - especially happy hour(s). Food is basic - fill yer up, but good quality and of course - lets make Americans fat.

We ate here twice as it was on the corner we were staying. The food is ok standard. The omelet was big and properly stuffed, just no seasoning.

We ate breakfast one day and lunch another day here. Both meals were great! Lived the location and the fun atmosphere with all of the novelty features!

A block from our hotel. Looked like a good spot for some basic American type food. Probably enough for 40 people tops. Atmosphere was good. Very casual. Food was very good and reasonably priced. We both had a few different beers that were also a good price. Staff were very friendly and responsive. Check it out if you're in the area!

My wife and I had a nice meal this evening at reasonable price considering the area. I had a burger while my wife had the steak with mash and vegies. There is a wide range of beers to choose from. The service was also good.

Service is attentive and the menu is varied. I recommend the Mac and cheese. It is to die first! The artichoke spinach dip was also wonderfully prepared.

This pub was just around the corner from our hotel. It is quite small and cosy with great food! Good selection of beers as well. The staff is efficient and friendly. The pub is open from early (with breakfast) til late. Check out the excellent happy hour prices as well!

We fell over this little gold mind..... Compared to the prices of alcohol in some pubs this place was very reasonable! They have happy hour which is great, tried the chicken wings and they was the best wings we ate whilst on our trip and well worth the money! Place was lovely & clean.... perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend... staff was lovely and polite!

We were recently in San Francisco and had lunch at the Sutter Pub. The Quesadillas were the best that I have ever eaten!

This is a great place to enjoy a low-key meal with a friend. Great burgers and awesome happy hour drink menu. Well worth finding!

We loved the food here! Had dinner and breakfast here and all meals were delicious. The bangers and mash and fish n chips were so good and the corned beef eggs Benedict and pancakes were yum! Found it reasonably priced and staff were attentive and friendly. Bit small but that makes it cozy when it’s cold outside. Would come back on next visit to San Fran no worries!

Stopped for a quick beer and ended up having some great stuffed jalapeños and watching American football in this small bar but with a big atmosphere. Would recommend it for a drink and snack.

Get out of your hotel and go and get a real breakfast at Sutters Pub, excellent start to the day. Later in the day return for a beer or two. I can highly recommend the Boddingtons. So good beer, good food, good selection of sporting action on the TV’s what better way to replenish after having trecked all over San Fran?

Nice pub on the corner down from our fabulous hotel, The White Swan Inn. We had a couple of beers and appetizers/dinner sitting at the bar. The bar staff fabulous and we met many interesting people while we were there. We will be back -

We tried the Sutter Pub & Restaurant for take out food which was just east of the Club Wyndham Canterbury Hotel where we were staying. In addition, as a guest of the hotel, we were given a 10% discount. The pub is very intimate and was decorated like a pub you would experience in the UK. The service was friendly and very prompt. We ordered a Seared Ahi Salad and it was very good. The Ahi was just right and salad was huge. Very good food for us.

Dropped in here on our first night in SF, out for a walk and stumbled across the Sutter, small bar Restaurant nice little atmosphere going on. Very friendly staff, good honest pub grub and reasonably priced. Good selection of the usual favourites plus a few homemade favourites too. Good range of beers and selection of wines. We just ordered a load of small plates to share which all were good quality. Would be happy for this to be my local!

I ate a burger and a clam chowder soup. Soup was actually the soup of the day and it was very good. But the burger after it was amazing. One of my best burger in my life. So next day I came again to try the steak. Hm well that was average, far away from the burger. (this caused the 4 point and not 5) So this place is very recommended to eat a burger and drink beer. I will go back :-)

We stopped in for a late lunch after sightseeing-pretty quiet but service was quick and friendly! Had the fish and chips and hubby had a club sandwich-really good pub food and prices were reasonable!

We went early for breakfast. The server was very fast and brought our order out quickly. We ordered hamburgers and French toast. The food was very good and the portions were big enough to share but we didn't because the food was sooo good! This restaurant is within walking distance from Union Square. It's worth the walk.

This Pub was recommended to us by other travelers and it did not disappoint! It is a very small cozy establishment which seemed to be very popular so we were sure to arrive early for breakfast. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I had a Denver Omelette full of fresh veggies which I would highly recommend. The service was friendly and efficient and the prices were reasonable. If we had had more time we would have gone back to try an evening meal. Next time!

Had two great evenings here. Small place with great atmosphere. Food has good size portions and the service really excellent. If you want a good bar with great beer and food then this is the place. Nachos particularly good. Highly recommend.

Small restaurant serving a good variety of pub food -- burgers, sandwiches, 24-hour breakfast. We had burger and quesadillas and both were excellent. Only problem was wait for food after we placed our order.

Food was decent, service was decent however they do not know how to correctly pour Guinness!! Even after I mentioned the proper way to pour they said they had to pour it differently. If you go, please enjoy but do not order Guinness if you want it proper. Order some other beer

Typical pub with sport TVs running. Friendly staff to welcome you in ready to serve fresh juicy American food. We had very good baked Salmon served with mashed potatoes. Simply but good. Lot of beers Convenient for sure

We were looking for Mexican and ended up here. Had tri tacos, super yummy!! Guacamole good too. Ended with poppers, probably not my favorite.

They do not have a huge number of beers to choose from but they should be just enough to please anyone. The prices are okay (7-8$ beers, 8-10$ bites I believe). The nachos are good albeit not amazing but fine for their price! The look on other people’s food was alright but I haven’t had the chance to try anything.

Fabulous American/English pub with great food. We ate here twice on our short stay in San Francisco, dinner and breakfast. It’s a small pub with capacity for just a handful of people but that adds to the atmosphere. Great menu and service too.

Friendly staff and good food served quickly. Would definitely go here again if in San Francisco. Good choice on the menu.

We enjoyed some great Pastrami Reuben sandwiches here. The waitress was great and the food was hot and good. And, there was plenty. We will stop by here again.

Late night and we were hungry but wanted something close to our condo. We opted for burgers and they were the BEST! Great beer, great wine. Service was good, prices were very reasonable!

The breakfast was so good. I got the omelet with bangers and avocado. My husband got the salmon omelet and we both loved our breakfast. Only problem is the kitchen was so slow and it took too long to get food.

Cheesecake was full, burger bar was full and we endid up at this nice little pub. Good, welmade burger ond really great fries !! Good pricelevel as well and great service !!

A nice little pub with good local atmosphere. We had the nachos which were nice. Quick, friendly service

The pub is small, crowded and atmospheric; reminded my husband of England back in the day. He had the bangers and mash, an English beer and enjoyed. He loved it. I thought it was a bit average, re food and atmosphere. It might be a great place to watch a football game.

On this trip I ordered a pastrami reuben and fries. The sandwich was a little dry for my taste. The black and steamy (Guinness and Anchor Steam) was good. Also, had one of my favorites Delirium Tremendous, which makes this lunch trip not all bad.

Food overall typical in quality for the moderate price range. One in our party ordered steak item that was so tough it was impossible to cut with the knife or chew. We ordered off bar bites happy hour menu and also from regular menu. We ordered and were served drinks and bar bites well within happy hour time frame off happy hour menu. Waitress billed all items at regular prices. For the drinks alone, that was a difference of 28%. Said she could not change it as manager not present and all computerized! She offered to take 10% off bill. Might go again, but very hesitant in businesses that have shoddy practices. Ambiance was good. Seating tight so no room for wheelchairs. Fine for conversation as no blasting music. Did not notice or ask about alternate choices for vegans, gluten intolerance, and so on. Service was quick at first but slowed down significantly by the time we needed the bill. Had to find the servers to ask for bill after waiting a fair amount of time with none in sight.

Good location, nice burgers and beers, authentic British style, reasonable prices. Would go back again.

Local Pub with good food. Full menu served all day. Hubs had Fish and Chips. Tasty but not authentic. I had Shepherd's Pie and it was wonderful! I would recommend for quick bite and drinks.

Decent place that offers some nice English/Irish beer choices. Small but friendly place that’s worth stopping in for a quick drink.

We have been going to SF annually since 2011. Discovered this gem in 2013 and have been going there ever since. It's small and fills up fast. Sitting at the bar and meeting new people is fun. Watching the staff preparing drinks is fun and they engage. The Sutter Burger is so yummy! A couple of the wait staff gals have been there since we first visited. Have no clue what their names are but do recognize. We'll be there in a few weeks and looking forward to visiting. See you soon Sutter Pub!

Finally a place to eat a steak for a fair price amd have a reasonable bottle of wine to accompany it. Steak.tasted good and the pinot noir was nice to drink with it. Staff was nice and allert. No hurry and the check came after we asked for it an not because we fid not order desert. We ordered some more wine instead 😎 This will be the place where we go for our last night in SF tonight

We visited while on vacation and had a rude bartender as our waitress. Extremely pushy, seemed like she hated her job. Asked for sour cream to go and she gave me a spoon and to go mini cup to scoop my sour cream into after she pushed it at me. I wouldn't recommend, even though the food was decent.

Basic Pub Fare. Philly Steak Sandwich was Dry. Server knew nothing about Ciders. Small dining area. Strange Bourbon Chicken...Chicken with dark sauce spread over it.

After a long day of sightseeing, we stumbled upon this Pub a short distance from our hotel. We were starving so it was a welcome opportunity to sit and relax with a tall Guinness on tap. I ordered the Sutter Street Pub Burger. It had a thick juicy patty with Swiss cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and onion straws all wrapped in a Brioche bun. It ranks up there as one of the best burgers I have had. My wife had the Sunny Side Burger. It came with bacon, cheese, aioli topped with a sunny side egg (my wife requested over easy). It also came on a brioche bun. We both had the sweet potato fries. This was the perfect end for a fun day.

A popular place, but perhaps it was the happy hour or just because it only holds about 40 people. The beer was pretty grim, ended up leaving my second one half way through.

Had breakfast as there is none at the Wyndham Hotel nearby. Recommended by the hotel. Average breakfast and not a real good value. Ok if you want someplace close. Friendly and efficient staff. Looked crowded on a Saturday nigh.

I was excited about eating brekkie here but was a tad disappointed with everything that I ordered. The omelette was dry, the french toast a tad dry too and the oatmeal insipid. I wouldn't go back in a hurry. It wasn't awful, just not great for a country that has the best breakfast places.

We had a croissant with scrambled eggs that was cold, but tasted fine, and a low quality new york steak with very cold baked potatoes. At the end we had the worst espresso ever!

Every time I visit San Fran I make a beeline for the Sutter- great cold beers, friendly staff and the house burger is fantastic- there really are no negatives, love it!

Hotel recommendations Salmon was perfect , hot and flavorful Burger and rings great as well Great service

Enjoyed dinner and watched hockey game from bar. Small sized pub/restaurant. Attentive service and nice variety of food choices. Also great beer selection.

We were staying at the Wyndham and needed to grab a bite. We saw this pub as we were driving in. We went there the first night. The food was good and the ambiance is nice. Typical pub fare and the service was great! We even received a discount for showing them our Wyndham key. We would go again if we are staying in the area.

Had the salmon & shepherds pie. Beer on tap served in their proper glasses too! Great food & service!

We had a couple of flat iron steaks which were cooked as we like them and the beer and wine were good. The staff looked after us well and it was a very pleasant meal. It is a cosy little pub and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and looking for a drink or something to eat.

Very unorganized. We were told it would be 20 min wait for a table. 40 min later, when a table became available, a group who were already sitting at another table, casually walked over and sat at that table. The waitress was berating us when we complained. What an attitude.

We were recommended this spot by the concierge at Wyndham next door. Pub fare but good, serves all day breakfast. Burgers, steak , fish n chips salads etc. Nice range of beers as you'd expect in a pub. Friendly place, welcomes children would defiantly do again.

This is a neighborhood pub and sports bar, but its menu is surprisingly varied and goes way beyond basic pub food. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Good service and although there are at least four televisions, the sound level is not bad, and one can still talk.

What a great little English pub. Food was fantastic and reasonable for San Francisco. Beer menus was great and nice and cold. The staff was awesome. It's right close to hotels and union square.

This small corner pub serves up a good breakfast. Generous portions and was conveniently located to the Wyndham hotel Canterbury. Priced right. We also ate here for dinner one night. Traditional pub food. Enjoyed the flight of beers and found one I liked.

Grandson had been here before and I ordered their chicken strips which were Panko breaded. It was some of the best chicken strips I've had. Grandson had breaded fish which he said were excellent too.

French toast and Mac n cheese with bacon were both delicious. Meals all reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere, but very small inside so if you have more than 2-4 people, the wait could be a while.

We were recommended to this pub with a discount voucher so we thought we would try and use it. A little dark in there and the staff were not overly friendly, but very efficient and they work very hard. We were tired and jet lagged so we were not expecting too much and was down the road from our hotel. Wow the salmon dish we both ordered was absolutely delicious, The fish was cooked to perfection and it was served with a variety of vegetable cooked firm and with bags of flavour would highly recommend! We went back and had their ordinary burgers without all the cheese and endless relishes on finished with sweet potatoes again really good and cooked pink Med-rare as we liked Doesn’t look up to much outside but well worth a visit Large portions and expensive just like everywhere in SF so we shared a main course and we didn’t go hungry

Quick place near our hotel to grab a bite and drink. Very small inside but quaint. Fish and chips were ok, but fish was bland.

Small pub in a good location serves excellent burgers. Big and juicy with a lot of different creative toppings makes for a heavy duty feast. Sweet potato fries and onion rings make for a nice side. About ten different beers on tap, including Guiness.

Visited here with friends during happy hour, and had London Pride, proper pint, for $5-00, nice change from US beers after 3 weeks on holiday. Went back for supper and all enjoyed the food, with bangers and mash, and fish and chips getting the thumbs up

We had a house salad that was awesome and the grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. The clam chowder was simply the best I have ever had. Great service!

My family loves this place! Consistently good food day or night. Excellent service. We always come here at least 2-3 times during a one week SF visit. Highly recommended!

good bar and restaurant very friendly staff and sensibly priced food ideal for an evening meal within reach of hotel

I have eaten here a few times and it never disappoints. The staff there are pretty quick with the service and the food is always very hot.

I really enjoyed my dinner. I enjoyed the fish and chips and the local beer on draft. It was at a decent price as well. A solid pub all-around.

Kinda like this place. Second time dining here and it's okay. I like the fish & chips - good taste, right amount, not enough cole slaw, no lemon. Lots of different beers. That's nice.

We only stayed in San Fran for 3 nights, but two of them we frequented this establishment. Good choice of draft & bottled beers, excellent service & good comfort food for those cold evenings

Family of four went in for brunch. Great menu at a reasonable price for San Francisco. Attentive service and a great, authentic British atmosphere. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and also by the bottle. But the food is really what this review is for. Literally to die for. We had bangers and mash with gravy, traditional fish and chips, a breakfast sampler and mac and cheese with chopped bacon and sausage. The mac and cheese was a little heavy on the cheese but very flavorful! It's very easy to mess up fish and chips, and mac and cheese but the food was phenomenal! We wish we found this earlier on in our vacation. Will be back for dinner!

Had dinner with a friend at the bar (was full otherwise) and was pleased. The service was attentive and effective. The Cobb Salad was well-built and fresh. And the beer selection was good.

Small English themed pub on Sutter Street , had corona beer fried cod as a starter and bangers & mash as main , one of the best bangers & mash I’ve had which was tasty and hit and plenty more on the menu I could of had. Efficient and friendly service and excellent value for money, would definitely recommend a visit.

Certainly worth a visit. Pleasant staff with good service. Good pub grub on offer. Nothing special about the place but it does what you expect from a good pub aspect.

We tried three different tacos - none of them were particulary good. i ordered one of their special drinks - one sip of it and I was done. With the setting and decor we expected more. In addition, they put chips, salsa and guacamole on the table twice without asking and then billed us $22 for it - that tricks like this are still used by restaurants today surprise me.

We had breakfast here twice and it was great. The corned beef hash was wonderful and my coffee cup was never empty. Friendly pub with traditional decor. Loved it!

We had breakfast here twice. It is very reasonably priced for San Francisco. We paid $10 for a Denver omelet, choice of toast and home fries. I opted for fruit for $! more instead of the fries. This was the best Denver omelet I've ever had. There was a huge amount of ham, green pepper, etc. We also had dinner here once. We both had a burger and fries. Again, the burger was very good. The waitresses were very attentive. We usually get water. Sometimes a waitress doesn't pay as much attention to us as if we had ordered a drink. That was not the case here.

My husband and I stopped here for food and to watch GSW. I had a tasty omelette and my husband had the chicken strips and fries. Food was lovely. Service was also good. Glad we stopped here! Worth a visit!

Reminded us of pubs in London. Serves bangers and mash, fish and chips on the menu, and that is what attracted us to pop in for lunch. Loved the decor, didn't love the food. The fish wasn't tasty, neither were the fries.

Great if you want breakfast at night or fish & chips, burger, etc. in the morning. My wife had the brie omlette and really enjoyed it; I had a good tasting fish and chips. Large selection of beers and ciders; also wine and cocktails. Service was friendly and efficient.

We went there for breakfast twice. Very nice, a hidden gem. The other breakfast around the area, like Honey Honey and Sears are busy and over-rated. The food here was very good.

For San Francisco, this place is cheap and food was great. Small place, so very crowded. Not much room between tables. Sara was awesome, checked on us 5 or 6 times during meal.

We popped in past one evening as we were looking to find somewhere to eat, and we came across this wee place! The food was wholesome and tasty. Nicola had the Cobb salad and it was so good when we went back a second time I had to try it. They also have a good selection of Local beers too!

We went for a drink one night when on holiday. Place was very busy and staff coped well with all the customers. There were quite a few customers turned away as place was so Busy! The drinks we had were food and would return. Can’t say how food was. Staff friendly.

On my trip to San Francisco in early June for the AIDS LifeCycle, I wanted to grab a late lunch before having to go to bed early since I would be getting up at 2am for Day One of the Ride. Around the corner from the JW Marriott Union Square I came across Sutter Pub. Not big, seats maybe 20-30, but they have a nice bar, with televisions playing, when I was there, baseball games. Side note: Unfortunately the Dodgers were not playing or being shown there. Hmmm, wonder why? :-) I digress. I ordered the Blue Burger, which came with a salad and a Coke. This burger was out of the world. The patty held up, wasn't soggy, wasn't at all like fast food. It was so good. I took my time eating and actually savored every bite. The bartender/waitress was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was set up like a pub and the good food just added to the experience. I will definitely return on my next trip to San Francisco.

I had the Sutter Combo, which was very tasty. Free refill of coffee very welcome, and service was good. The whole bill with coffee and juice came to $21, which in my opinion is pricy for breakfast, but maybe not in Nob Hill.

Tiny pub with good food Happy hour prices on beer and starters, quick service and an all round good experience.

This "pub" was on the corner near our hotel. Visited twice and although it is styled as an English "pub" it is only serving beer and wine and food. No G & T's old boy! Having said that there is a very good selection of local craft beers and local wines that were excellent. Food is very good and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back even without G & T.

Found this great little pub in the Union Square area with a good Happy Hour and a basic menu. The Buffalo Wings were very good as was the Sutter Pub burger. A nice selection of beers and they are all (except Guinness) $5.00 during Happy Hour. It’s a small place with only 10 table and maybe 12 seats at the bar, but well worth the visit.

Great little pub. If it's busy you know it's good. I came in here for that reason, and by the way for a little comfort food. At first I was going for the Blue Burger but opted for the fish and chips. I was not disappointed. My friend had the panko chicken, and that was excellent as well. They have an excellent selection of beer if your interested. I just have to say I have not had one bad meal here in San Francisco.

We had a few meals at the Sutter Pub, It is a very small but very weell ruin establishment. We enjoyed drinks and a light dinner on a few occasions. The Buffalo winds were great, so were the sliders.

Stopped here during our sisters trip. It is a quant little pub. We had bagels and lox, bananas foster and the Baja omelette. The waitress was very nice and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Everything was delicious!!!!! Our waitress even took a group photo for us. The soju jello shot was bomb. Tasty and strong.....Would definitely come here again....thumbs up for everything!!!

A good dinner: I tasted a delicious burger and buffalo wings from other planet. Yummy! A good breakfast: I tasted waffles with strawberries and chocolate syrup... so appetizing!
Great Comfort Food
This is a small English style pub in the Union Square area. The place is small, and they would not take a reservation on Saturday night. We did not have to wait long. They have an extensive menu and the food was delicious. Service was great and prices were reasonable. I had fish and chips - crunchy on the outside and tender inside. A friend had grilled salmon which was wonderful. Beer selection was good. Casual and comfortable. Would definitely return!
