Been to Sweet Dogs a couple times already. I haven't tried all their dogs yet but I am closely getting there. What can you say about this place. I absolutely LOVE hot dogs. When in NY I go for my dog, when in ChiTown I go for my dog but Sweet Dogs is the DOG in Miami. It takes every hot dog spot in Miami out of the game. This is NOT a Colombian rip off spot which is what I first thought it would be before getting there for my first time. It's One MILLION times better than that non sense and takes a FRESH and different approach on hot dogs. All their specialty dogs are named after Florida sports teams. I have had "The Dolphin, The U, The Marlin & their Homemade Corn Dogs" and they are absolutely DELICIOUS!! But don't get crazy ordering all those at once because they pack in a quarter pound Nathan's grilled dog into the mix. It was tough to finish just one so bring your appetite. As a side, I tried their "homemade chili topped with cheese" & their "Mac & Cheese topped with croutons & parmesan cheese" and again both RIDICULOUSLY delicious and also come on dogs if you would like. You can also top off your dog with whatever you would like if you don't want to stick to the original menu. All in all just great. For desert you HAVE to have the "Crack Pie" just awesome. They have other items on the menu as well. Fries, Soft Serve ice cream, Milk Shakes. Ask for Victor who greeted me and pretty much made the place. Hell of a nice guy and expects nothing but satisfaction. I WILL CONTINUE GOING BACK as it BLEW EVERY SINGLE SPOT IN MIAMI when it comes to Hot Dogs. All about SWEET DOGS! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Pros- 1.Everything Cons- 1. Not open for late birds out there 2. My stomach is not big enough to have more than one!! :-)

Hidden gem for hot dogs and pop corn this as gourmet as you could go with hot dogs. they also provide catering for parties.

Good juicy hot dogs, great toppings, nice fresh fruit juice, and very good and friendly service. Check it out and you won't be disapointed.

If you love hot dogs, this is the place. Sweet Dogs is a counter serve restaurant providing classic and creative hot dogs with its own brand of sweet sauce. Located at 4749 Southwest 8th Street in Miami, Florida, in the Caracas Shopping Center, at Santiago, in the Grenada neighborhood, it offers 15 varieties of hot dogs along with milk shakes, popcorn, fries and home-made beef chili, BBQ beans and coleslaw. Open from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Sweet Dogs caters to the city's nightlife. What'll you have? I sampled the Mr. Chili Dog with beef chili, chopped onions and cheddar cheese and Nathan's quarter-pound hot dog with beef chili, brown mustard and sauteed onions. My wife indulged in a Miami Heat Dog with beef chili, cheddar cheese, chopped tomato, guacamole, jalapeno and corn chips. The more adventurous hot dog lovers are encouraged to try the Dolphins Dog with grilled ham, smoked bacon, melted mozzarella, house sauce, pineapple and papitas or the Miami Marlins Dog with fried egg, sweet plantains, chopped onions, banana pepper, guava BBQ and papitas. With French fries or chili cheese fries and a chocolate milk shake. What, no Chicago-style hot dog on the menu?

I found Sweet Dogs on Google with a high rating, so we decided to check it out. I got the Sweet Dog and My husband got the Miami Heat. Both delicious! We also got a mac and cheese to share, to die for. Then we split a piece of Crack Pie, the name speaks for itself. The service was outstanding. The facility and bathrooms are very clean. I highly recommend!

One of best hotdogs ever. Went on 9/6/15 and they were just opening up at 11 on a Sunday. Orlando and Sergio made us feel at home and cooked us a great dog. A must if you in area. Thks to Orlando and Sergio ,great to feel welcomed.

We ordered lunch from the office. I can honestly tell you that these dogs are more than just a dog. They are a meal as well. The Dolphin and The U are amazing. Will definitely return.

While there were definitely some interesting options on the menu, the dogs really weren't even close to Portillos or any of the multitude of other Chicago hotdog joints. I did appreciate the friendly service though.

I am a bit of a hot dog fiend. I love a good hot dog and seek them out whenever I travel. When I find a fantastic one, I want to share it with everyone. Sweet Dogs is one of those places I want everyone to visit. We came for dinner on a Saturday evening. They weren't busy but I suspect they are more of a lunch stop. We were greeted by the friendly owners who introduced themselves and after letting them know it was our first time in, they happily began explaining all the different options. I ordered the Dolphin- a yummy combination of toppings including bacon, melted cheese, pineapple, a special sauce and crunchy frites. It was delicious! The rest of my family ordered other varieties and I remember taking bites of each and loving them too! My youngest got a plain dog which he chose his own toppings to put on- mustard and banana peppers and corn chips. He loved it but about 1/3 of the way through I ended up taking his hot dog out, cutting it in half lengthwise and putting it back in the bun. The hot dogs are big here and it was just too much meat for him. The rest of us had no problem finishing ours. Warning: you will probably need a fork and knife to eat the hot dogs here which they provide happily. We also ordered the homemade Mac & Cheese. Oh was it yummy! Creamy, cheesy, deliciousness! We were completely stuffed after our hot dogs and Mac & Cheese but took a slice of Crack Pie to go to share. Later in our hotel room it was a delectable sweet treat my family fought over for the last bite. If I lived closer I'd be a regular here. My one disappointment was only that the place is small and had only a few barstools to sit at while eating with one table outside. Hopefully this place will be so popular that they will have to expand into the neighboring shops to add a dining room. In the meantime, I'll eat at the barstools if they are available or munch away in my car. Totally worth it.

Excellent, something that usually do not hear about a hot dog specialty restaurant. Sweet dog was amazing. We had the Miami Heat and the Miami Marlins, both were yummy. The shakes are fabulous too, the Oreo milk shake was the best. Service is outstanding and super friendly. Besides the great food this place is cheap for the quality of food that you are getting. We are from Broward and I will go out of my way when I am in the Miami area to eat here.

Stopped in at Sweet Dogs today for a late lunch, we are so glad we did! Amazing hot dogs, homemade sauces, Mac and cheese, chili, beans and everything is so fresh!!!! All is made to order right when you order it. The Service and the owner Victor are exceptional , way above the rest when it comes to friendliness and their hot dogs and sausages!!! The bread for the buns and hoagie rolls for the sausages are stellar as well👍🏻 Definitely will be going back soon and I highly recommend anyone in the area to stop by or if your here visiting it's worth the trip to stop by, you won't be disappointed! Thank you again Victor😘

A $20 lunch of a hot dog, coke, Mac'n'Cheese, and a mini Bundt cake dessert. Price and limited parking are the only reasons I didn't give this place 5 stars. The food is awesome. You might say, "how awesome can it be, it's just a hot dog", but how wrong you'd be! All of the toppings, like the coleslaw, the chili, and the mac are made from scratch in house. The corn chips are thicker than the Frito brand. The owner, greeted me as I came in. He explained the 8 custom dogs, each one named after a sports team, and I ordered the one with chili, cheese, and coleslaw. I was still hungry, so I ordered the Mac'n'Cheese. I cannot put into words the awesomeness that this mac is. Okay, I'll try: decadent. While there, I was also given other samples to try. I ended up buying the Bundt cake to take home.

I am not a hot dog type of person, but given the great reviews I decided to take a chance. I love trying things that I cannot find at home when I go to a new place. These hot dogs are so different but delicious. The hot dog with plaintains was really good, and the sweet dog so delicious. You gotta try them!

Fantastic little hot dog joint. Very clean and great staff. The hot dog choices are very fun and you won't leave hungry.

Looking for a late night bite after work. Stumbled upon this late night spot called sweet dogs which instantly caught my attention on yelp. Had all kinds of dogs food was great and the mac and cheese...holy.... it was to die. Must stop by. Only complaint that the fritos on my miami heat dog were stale and the prices are pretty steep. Best part were the sign holders outside the business...they were a pair of hilarious....lol

A cool place!! Excellent exceptional hot dogs. Food is fresh. The restaurant is small, clean and the service is friendly

My friend had "The U" and said it was the best hot dog he has ever had. I had "The Dolphins" dog and it was fantastic (but is second in my lifetime hotdog awards to the Puka Dog in Kauai)! My coconut milk shake was amazing and the seasoned fries were also top notch. The proprietor is very friendly and helpful and clearly wants to ensure that all of his customers leave happy!

My family & I drove from Fort Myers to try this spot. We were wowed by the great customer service & food. We all tried something different and ate all of it. The manager /owner was amazing.... Very helpful worth the menu. He also gave us directions to a place to visit after we ate. We were so pleased and all left smiling & full. You must try the Crack pie. Thanks for your great job.

Yup! This hit the spot!! The Mr. Chill satisfied our craving for a chili dog!! And it came with a Snickers side car! The owner, Victor, said he'd been open two years - then he realized it was FIVE!! Now, there's a guy who likes his job!! The top run menu is a series of gourmet dogs named for local sports teams. They make their own chili, BBQ beans, Mac & cheese, cole slaw and corn dogs - I can't wait to try them. If that's not enough, make your way through the gourmet popcorn flavors!!!

That is one of the best hot dogs that i have ever tried in my life! I ate already all of the hot dogs, and none of them i can say that i didn't like, very good food, nice job guys! The place is very small, i suggest order to go. One of the best places here in Miami area. The attendants are very nice, they help you with the order, and they speak Spanish too.

the team there is very friendly and feels like they are related/family. Very nice and accommodating... like you are a guest at their home! I go out of my way to have their dogs!

This place is not easy to find but when you do I can promise you'll be back. I went with my husband and two kids (who love hot dogs). My boys both enjoyed plain dogs and my little one also had the Mac and cheese (yummmm). My husband and I shared the chili fries and I had the Marlin and he had the Heat. Both were delicious. We will definitely be back. My only wish would be that they expand their location so that we can enjoy our food with a larger group of people. Oh, and the service was awesome!!!!

The hot dogs at this place we're amazing! I had the "Miami Heat" hotdog and it was delicious! They offered a dessert made by a local Firefighter called "Crack pie" (powdered sugar on top). The pie was wonderful. We enjoyed this place so much we revisited before we left Miami. The customer service was welcoming and friendly.

The restaurant is small and, as others have noted, is in a strip mall. I might care about this if I were paying top dollar for fine dining, but we're talking about a hotdog spot here. The hot dogs were very good, as was the homemade mac and cheese, and the staff was very friendly. Great spot for a quick lunch.

Great, quality hot dogs! I topped mine with their special house sauce and sweet peppers, delicious combo. Their mac and cheese was unexpected for a hot dog joint. It was love in a cup, which is what they should actually call it.

Ordered a mac-n-cheese dog and corn dog. Both were excellent, but a whole lot of food. Be careful when eating the mac-n-cheese dog as the m&c was very hot. A little out of the way, but worth the trip!

Amazing hot dog, absolutely delicious. Ordered the marlin dog with plantains, banana peppers, onions, bbq sauce, fried egg and potato sticks. Worth the stop when in Miami. The staff was very friendly and helpful and couldn't be happier to have your business, check it out.

At first glance, you'd probably miss it. It's sits in a little strip of business. It's small so you're lucky if you get one of the 7 stools inside or 1 table outside. The hotdogs are AMAZING! They use Nathan hotdogs and add all kinds of delicious stuff on top. They have sausages and polish dogs too. I had the Miami Heat. It was topped with chilli (I chose BBQ beans instead), fresh guacamole, cheese, jalapeño, and Fritos. Hands down the best hotdog I've had to date. It also comes with a mini candy bar! They have fresh squeezed juices like passion fruit and guanabana. They're definitely added to my good eats list for Miami!

This small place in an obscure old mall has it all do Everything right!!! By for the best hotdog I've ever had! Casual counter service with a unique hotdog many make this place downtown.

What a find. The gourmet dogs were extremely flavorful. The Italian sausage sandwich was cooked perfectly. The own Victor was great. Explained everything well and the little candy treat with the dogs was a great touch

Excellent hot dogs, and the little fun size candies will make you feel like a kid again. Bring your friends to enjoy a good meal and experience.

The place is in a strip mall that has very limited parking. But let me tell you the dogs were worth the frustration. I ended up getting the Asian inspired Florida Panther dog and a cookies and cream shake. The toppings fit well together but was slightly difficult to eat, nothing a few extra napkins didn't solve. Will go back when in the area.

I like this place. I really do. I just don't think it is justified that it is number one on yelp. This place serves hotdogs, italian sausages, and polish kielbasa sausages, with a variety of toppings. Due to a kitchen quirk, they will only ever have one italian or kielbasa ready to go. If someone orders one ahead of you, and you want one, you will have to wait for it to cook out of the fridge. They have a board with their best sellers, which are usually named after local sports teams. To give you an idea: the Miami Hurricanes comes with grilled onions, sauerkraut, bacon, salsa, and fritos on top; FIU has a fried egg, cream cheese, chow mein noodles, among others. This is just to give you an idea of the mish-mash of flavors and textures you can expect to see on the menu. Somehow, they just work. They taste great. The restaurant does not have a lot of seating. There's a table for 4 outside the door. Then there's about 8-9 bar stools inside along the countertop.

Stop by with my Dad who is a hot dog lover for 70 years and he liked the hotdog. The dog and bun were really good but next time I'm going to order less items on the hotdog so I can enjoy the hotdog more ( I ordered the chili dog and they offer a lot of different toppings) The place is small and only has 6-7 stools at the counter to eat at .

They explained everything on their menu and served us hotdogs cut in half so we could share them. They have us a sample of their Mac n'Cheese, which was a piece of heaven, oh so good!! Taking an extra side of Mac n'Cheese home, but we'll definitely be back to try more hotdogson their menu. Everyone was super nice, friendly, and professional. The service was very fast and all of the employees moved with a sense of urgency to complete our order. Great food and outstanding service!!

This place rates incredibly high on Yelp, so we checked it out. Somehow I was expecting a really hip or funky place with lots of cool Miami people hanging out. It wasn't any of that - it's just a small restaurant in a slightly seedy strip mall sort of near the airport. We were there at 5:30 on a Monday, so I didn't expect it to be that busy, but we were basically the only customers. The hot dogs were very good, the toppings were unique and really filling (probably too much), and the guys working there were friendly and efficient. It's a good place if you're really hungry.

Before our Miami trip our 12 year old daughter saw this place on YouTube. So when we booked our RV trip we promised her we would come visit this place. It was voted one of the top 50 food places to visit when in Miami. It is in a shopping strip mall very obscure but we were terribly excited to try all the different kinds of hot dogs! My fifteen-year-old son had the Mac (mac and cheese and bacon), I had the Miami Vice (chili coleslaw corn chips), my husband had the University of Miami (bacon sauerkraut salsa corn chips), and my daughter had the Miami Dolphin (ham bacon mozzarella pineapple). So obviously we taste-tested each of them! Unfortunately the owner was not there and a non-English speaking employee was behind the counter but he was very accommodating, polite and allowed us to take many touristy pictures. The hot dogs were fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit!

We were staying in Miami for one night while getting ready to go on a cruise. I found some reviews for Sweet Dogs and the reviews were excellent!! I could hardly wait to get there!! My husband and I both got the Dolphin Dog (about 6 or 7 hot dogs named after Florida teams). OMG, it was so yummy!! The Dolphin had bacon, ham, pineapples, papitas (potato sticks), mozzarella cheese, and their special sauce. We also had the mac and cheese and all was so fantastic!! I don't think I've ever had such a good hot dog in all my 50 years!! It is not a fancy place at all, very small with about 7-8 seats along the wall, but the staff are fantastic and when we told them it was our first time there, they took the time to explain all the hot dogs. Very friendly and informative!! After coming back from the cruise, we realized that the was the best food we had all week!! Check it out, you won't be sorry!!

Though Sweet Dogs has been open for 8 years we did not find it until today. We are very glad we did! Great hot dogs, fries and service! My husband had the Home Team and I had the "U" just as they come and we split a season's fries. Everything was excellent! Large very tasty dogs. We shared an order of fries, but were so full from the dogs we couldn't finish them. We will definitely go back!

We've been there twice and it was always great. It makes up to it's fame! Try the vanilla or the oreo shake and don't miss the hot dogs!

First time in this place located at SW 8th street and 47ave Miami. I'm not a big fan of hot dogs but this dogs are the best in town

Late to this delicious hotdog party. It’s been open for 6 years. Great selection of hotdogs and fixings. Husband had the Miami vice. Ridiculous. I had chili cheese onion. We also got the homemade popcorn. Friendly service. Small space but perfect for lunch or late night.

Quaint hotdog shop tucked in a storefront on 8th street. The staff was very helpful and accommodating.. We tried the FIU Dog, U dog, an Oreo Milkshake, and Mac&Cheese. Each alone is worth another visit. We sat outside and the staff brought our food out. It was a nice personal touch.

I fly into Miami and punch up Yelp. The best restaurant within a 5 mile radius is... a hot dog joint? I had to check this out. Sweet Dogs is *tiny.* There are maybe four stools inside and a little seating outside. After much deliberation, I chose the Dolphin dog - grilled ham, smoked bacon, melted mozzarella cheese, pineapple, "home sauce" (whatever that is) and papitas. Totally delicious. The cheese gets melted right there on the grill while you wait, so it's a golden blanket atop your dog. My only sadness is that the mozzarella blanket acts as an impenetrable barrier for all the other toppings. Couldn't the other toppings go in the bun *before the mozzarella? Or figure out a way to wrap the dog in the cheese? That would make my head explode. * Note: There's a $1 charge if you try to use your credit card for less than a certain amount. ($15, I think?)

Good food. The polish sausage has a very large serving size at a good price. I shared the order with my husband. We also shared an order of chili cheese fries and a side order of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was a bit pricey compared to the other menu items. I would suggest getting the food to go because the seating is very limited. The staff were super friendly and welcoming.

This is a place that I would not have noticed driving by. I am glad that we did find it. The guys at the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. They created a meal for my family that we will remember for quite a while. The mac-n-cheese was simply amazing. The hotdog selections were rather unique. I had the Marlin dog and thought that it was a wonderful combination of flavors.
What a find
I had time for lunch while waiting for my flight and discovered Sweet Dogs thanks to Trip Advisor reviews. When it comes to hot dogs, this has to be right at the top. The options and titles were hilarious. The hot dog was sloppy and delicious the way it should be. The fries were hot straight from the grease. The staff was quite helpful explaining the menu and catering to not only me but other patrons. It doesn't look like much from the road but is worth the stop.
