Walking up to Swift's Attic, I knew we had found a gem. Dark, moody and interesting atmosphere met us immediately on the stairs and we were lucky to walk right up and snag a couple of seats at the bar for drinks and snacks. We had the corn fritters and the calamari fries, which were both out of this world. Seriously right up there with the best calamari I have EVER had! Bar staff were a bit aloof, but that didn't stop us from having a good time! We will definitely be back to try more!

The food was excellent, but the dining area can feel a little cramped for some although this can possibly feel charming for others. Drinks menu is extensive, so make sure to have enough time to enjoy it all, give it at least two hours. During daytime, the bar is a great place to stop by for a quick fix.

This is NOT your garden variety restaurant! If you're looking for steak and potatoes, look elsewhere. Instead, Swift's offers a variety of unusual dishes. It's not weird food as one might find in a country other than one's own, but tends to the usual ingredients combined in unusual ways. I visited with business colleagues, and they ordered for the table. Out of six or seven things ordered, everyone found something that they didn't care for - but on the other hand, everyone also found quite a few things that were fresh and interesting. When you leave, you will know you've been to Swift's, and nobody will be confused. Strictly for the adventurous, though. Recommended.

If you are in Austin you must visiting this place. The cocktails very well prepared and the food menu provoques great experiences.

We were strolling through Austin downtown during our Christmas break with our family group and wanted to try out some local cuisines. Swift's Attic is on the upper floor, factory-like setting with benches and desks, a window overlooking the lights on trees on the street - it was a cool ambiance. Food is not in conventional styles - all are small shared plates but we liked most of the items we tried especially the quail and flank stakes. Not too much sure about Pad Thai in that menu. Drink cocktails were pretty good too. Overall we thought the menu is a bit pricy but the experience was really nice! Recommended for casual groups and parties.

So, for those who aren't familiar with Tapas, it is a Spanish style cuisine of small plates you share with your dining companions. Swift's serves food Tapas-style but the menu s much more than Spanish - selections are world-wide & everything we had was delicious. We ordered 6 small plates for the 2 of us but there were other selections we were interested in but couldn't fit in. A group of 4 would be ideal to maximize exposure to various dishes. As it relates to wine, it is a fun & diverse list. a good representation of regions & varietals and a good range of price points - from very budget oriented wines to high end wines (such as Gaja & Dom P). So something for every price point & interest. But even on the budget end, interesting selections (not your run of the mill wine). And regardless of price point, all have reasonable mark ups. I would recommend electing something with a mid-weight body so you can pair it with the wide variety of dishes on the menu.

Loved this fun little plact upstairs off of Congress. Here's what I loved: Great decor - super inviting & made me feel like i was in the cool kids club... Wonderful bar service & great drinks Some kind of fabulous bacon wrapped something that was a party in my mouth.

Had a great brunch at Swift's Attic yesterday. The service was very efficient and friendly, the food delicious and the mimosas strong (a great deal for the double mimosas for $2). I'll definitely be back.

We were down in Austin last week during SXSW and popped in to Swift's Attic. We sat at the bar and had a great dinner. The food was universally well conceived and excellently executed. There wasn't a single dish that we wouldn't have ordered again. The restaurant itself is a fun place on the second floor but would be a challenge for anyone who can't or would struggle on stairs.

Swift's Attic is a second-floor bar and bistro with a unique product, their exclusive "Ice-Ball Cocktails". We went to sample these concoctions although a large and vociferous number of patrons were there for a meal as well. Sitting at the bar, we ordered two varieties of Ice-Ball Cocktail: 'Strawberry Fields" and "Manhattan". The unique aspect of these drinks is its sweet, spherical, frozen center over which extra liquor is poured. As the ice ball melts it releases its flavors into the covering liquor, resulting in an unusually taste-changing drink with each sip. Strawberry Fields has a core of kaffir lime, roast coriander syrup, and strawberry sorbet, accompanied with generous dashes of Reyka vodka and prosecco. The Manhattan is a core of "sacred" spiced vermouth and simple syrup topped with angostura bitters and Knob Creek rye whiskey. Not sure how they make their frozen spheres (liquid nitrogen, maybe?) but the drinks are memorable and the service and atmosphere are first-rate.

We had a great first impression at the bar - they were so helpful in explaining these ‘ice ball’ drinks…that we HAD to order them, and were so happy we did (along with ‘refills’ later). The girls behind the bar were GREAT! We got sat and our service was OK. Not bad….just not nearly as exceptional as the bar. The food was ‘tapas’ like (small portions for most) and good. I had read great reviews on the apricots, brusel sprouts, wagyu and was not OVERLY impressed with them. The wagyu was especially fatty - could really only eat about 1/2 of the serving. We’d come back again and have a drink or two, but won’t make a point to eat here again. Not bad…just not as great as I had hoped. We also had the cheese board (nothing special here either and the olives were very oily/vinegary).

Loved the look of this place and the staff is top notch. I had the steak from the chef menu. For 65.00 i was extremely disapointed in it it was very fatty and had runs of tendon that was unchewable. So tryed it probably will not return. Disapointed came recommended from a friend

All of our food experiences in Austin were awesome but this place was especially good. Both vegetarian and every meal we ordered was insanely good. Amazing flavours and presentation. We had to order the Brussel sprouts again because they were just sooooo good! Highly recommended.

I visited this restaurant with a decent sized group for a birthday celebration. We ended up ordering an omakase-style tasting menu for the table and it was absolutely delicious. We tried a huge variety of dishes. Among my favorites were the squid fries, broccoli salad, shrimp and grits, and flank steak. We also had the bacon wrapped dates, Brussels sprouts, chicken with mole and ahi tuna. I was impressed by everything. My friend also got one of the ice ball cocktails, which was a totally unique drink. I thought the prices were mid-range but the food tasted gourmet. I would go back here in a heartbeat for a special occasion or otherwise. It was really so good.

We had read good reviews of this place and decided to give it a try. It was loud but had a good vibe even for a Thursday night at 7:45. The Attic is a unique setting with efficient service. Beer list was good. Menu is varied and everything we tried was very good. Korean flank steak, shishito peppers, and honeycomb cheese were all good to name a few. Give it a try when in Austin.

My huband and I enjoyed a great meal at Swift's Attic. Location: Downtown Austin, easy to locate on Congress Ave. Enter the main building door and go straight up the stairs to the restaurant (ground level is a different bar, and lower level is the Elephant Room--which is supposed to be good for live music/jazz, etc.) I'm not sure if there was an elevator or not--It appeared to me that you had to be able to go up the stairs. Food: Not a large menu, but we found items we were happy to share. Brussel sprouts were amazing and a good size portion. The peach glazed puffy tacos were a bit smaller but delicious. Cocktails were good. We left around 9:15pm and the bar area was getting busy at that time. Overall, I recommend Swift's Attic. It was a cool place, and we had good food. I like the small plates because we can have a small or large meal and get to try different items.

Awesome food and great service. I am a vegetarian and there were good choices available. They also made vegan special item for us.

I am giving this 5 stars because my friends LOVED it. I am a very picky eater and found this place a little too eclectic for my taste, but they could not stop raving. I will admit that even though there were too many things on the menu that had unusual ingredients, I did nibble on a few things. The food is served tapas style and they recommend that you share a variety of the small dishes with your table. Everything was beautifully presented and was artistically plated. The atmosphere is great - kind of a cool and trendy speak-easy feel. A bit pricey, but my friends thought it was worth every penny.

Swift's Attic is a fun and delicious dinner option in Austin. The decor is cool and stylish, the food is unique, and the drinks are creative. If you get tired of the BBQ, fried food, etc. as we did after a few days, Swift's Attic is a nice alternative. If you like boozy cocktails, try one of the ice ball drinks.

My husband and I loved our dinner at Swift's Attic! The decor was very cool, but the food was amazing! I keep thinking about the Devils on horseback appetizer and the pork cheeks dinner. Our waiter was excellent, and made sure that my choices were all gluten free. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We almost went back for a second visit, and we were only in Austin for 3 days!

Food was very good and dishes were easily shared by our party of four. We all loved the frozen ice ball cocktails. As they melt the flavor erupts and of course, we ordered an extra shot as the ball got smaller. Desserts were yummy. The place is fairly noisy, so be prepared to shout across the table for the evening.

Came here with a few business friends. The dishes were similar to tapas and are intended for sharing. We each ordered one small and one medium plate to share. The Brussels sprouts were amazingly tasty. Even those who normally refuse to eat Brussels sprouts enjoyed them. The seared scallops were cooked just right and smelled and tasted delicious. The only complaint was that the tables were placed extremely near to each other, and the table next to us had a woman with an extremely bright and loud voice. We literally had to yell to hear each other. One of the best meals in Austin no doubt!

My wife and I were in Austin for our 15 year anniversary. We decided to do an early dinner at Swift’s on a Saturday. The overall experience was fantastic and the food was the star of the show. We had the peppers and dates for apps which were both very good. We shared the broccoli salad which was just absolutely delicious. We then shared a special entree, the pappardelle with short ribs. This was off the charts tasty and unique in flavor. The house brought us an anniversary dessert which was also incredible. I dont rate much so I haven’t gone into all the specifics but this place was fantastic. I actually thought the food was under priced for how good it was and I can’t say that often if at all. Thank you Swift’s for a great experience!!!!

Small venue with delicious tapas and very unique food offerings. Very good for a crowd and sharing options.

I heard about this place from someone who lives there. You need a reservation, so plan ahead! Amazing drinks, and we loved the shareable small plates. We were dining with our adult children- (early 20’s ) they also loved the vibe. Our server was knowledgeable and really professional.

Be ready to be impressed with their creatively designed and tasty food options. I indulged in the Going Back To Cauli sandwich with wonderful flavors that danced on my palate! A no-meat designer sandwich with seared cauliflower steak, roasted onions, peanut & coconut curry, and zucchini all severed on a delicious Challah bun. I was in foodie heaven! I include a bowl of their out-of-this-world tomato basil soup, which only added to the delectable eating experience. Go swiftly to Swift’s Attic, you will not be disappointed! Enjoy!

I went with colleagues and we had fun sharing plates with each other. It was fun to get to try so many foods. Our absolute favorites were bacon wrapped dates and the mussels. The most memorable was the edamame with poprocks - sounds crazy but it totally works and is so fun. You can't eat it without smiling. Fairly good portions for small plates. Missed dessert but we were told later it is a must (definitely regret that!).

Superb.... A great find away from 'Dirty 6th Street'. The team are a great bunch and can't do enough to help you feel at home. We stayed for drinks on several occasions and didn't eat, however the food looked utterly delicious with every punters plate empty and a happy face. Love this place and when we next visit Austin will make sure we return. Brilliant. Thank you! An Englishman in Austin xx

We arrived on a busy Friday night. The Hostess gave us a choice of a 40 minute wait for a table or a seat at the bar where we could also have dinner. We opted for the bar. Although the bartender was quite busy, he was attentive, knew the menu very well and made a couple of very helpful suggestions for both food and drink. The menu was creative and our meals were delicious. I had a Korean inspired beef dish and my wife had a couple of small plate vegetarian dishes that were amazing. We very much enjoyed our experience. The atmosphere was welcoming at Swift's Attic and it had a nice upbeat and friendly feel. We would definitely come back.

We were in town for a conference and had dinner here this week. We had the Pad Thai, shrimp and quail. Everything was very very spicy and tiny portions. We left hungry.

Who can resist a bloody mary bar? Not my group, although some overdid the heat. Great brunch and beautiful setting, upstairs from the street. We all had egg dishes, but the menu also included amazing looking burgers.

This is an excellent restaurant that I highly recommend. The food is top quality, the service is excellent, the ambience is wonderful. Unfortunately, we missed Happy Hour prices by 5 minutes (dammit!), but still had two wonderful starters and two "main" courses for $45. We did find the wine to be expensively priced, even by the glass. Our server - Cardigan - was top top top, very understanding of our queries, especially of the wine I was interested in (an Italian red grape called Susumaniello from Puglia I hadn't known before but I can really recommend at $45/bottle - one of the lower priced options). The food came when prepared and was sort-of tapas style, but large tapas. Really relaxed high quality eating very well worth it!

If you're looking for a place to have a great meal and a conversation, choose another place. The food here is good, not memorable. The night we went the service was not very attentive. We sat in the front room (by the mural on the brick wall) and had to yell at each other to be heard. Overall, disappointing. We left slightly hungry just to get out. Sorry, not a place I would go back to.

We recently had an early dinner here on a week night. We'd heard about it many times & were super excited to try it. We shared the corn fritters & then each had entrees. My husband had the Korean BBQ Flank Steak and I had the Striped Bass. Everything we ordered was just okay. The Striped Bass was probably the worst I've ever had... pretty flavorless. For the prices & the hype, I'd expect more. Our service was great though. It was empty when we were there so it was nice & quiet. I just don't get the excitement over the food. But maybe it's what we ordered...

I just ate at Swift's Attic. The atmosphere is good but that's about as far as it went. Our server was really slow and only came by after others had brought our dishes and refilled our water. This place serves small plates which I thought were very overpriced. We ordered 4 things which were good but not great. The scallops were $22 for 2 scallops with a thinly sliced carrot surrounding them! Wow. I am not really sure why this place gets such high ratings. I certainly will not be going back there again.

Had a great time for a birthday celebration Friday, May 13. I had originally made a reservation for 5 but needed to add 1 more at the last minute. They couldn't have been more accommodating or nice about it, even with a very full restaurant. The servers help one another so it was no problem to add a dish or drink from whomever was nearby. No waiting for a particular server. The food is always interesting and very fresh.

I’m reviewing the owners new restaurant at 38th and Lamar. It has just opened recently and I had the pleasure to dine there. I was very impressed. A restaurant should impress with the first bite of every dish- is it boring, cliche, over engineered, or an instant pleasure? I found every dish from the salad to our small plates, to the entrees to be an instant hit with my tastebuds. Try it. Service and decor were great. Get there before it becomes the next “in” place to be and too crowded.

The wife and I travel to Austin to visit family we try to sneak away for a night to ourselves and a Sunday Funday brunch. Stumbled upon this establishment during my research and lo and Behold they have a Taylor Ham brunch entree!! Being a Jersey boy in Texas this is a very big deal and made our reservations immediately. The place itself has a very cool vibe and is in fact the very top floor of the building it occupies. Drinks were very good especially the specialty drinks with infused ice. The food was a bit of mixed bag as was the service. I enjoyed my Taylor Ham Benedict but the wife’s chilaquiles was only okay. The service was uneven with the Manager being super and the server being inattentive and would disappear at the most in opportune times..All in all i would return.

Delicious dinner, great cocktails, cozy atmosphere. It’s an upstairs from the street, so keep your eyes open.

We LOVE this place. Visited last year on our trip to Austin to celebrate our engagement. Had to return a year later for the food, drinks, and great atmosphere. The squid fries are amazing. The iceball drinks are great and very unique. Love hat it's just a stairway away from The Elephant Room.

Was in Austin for business and the waitress at the JW Marriott bar recommended Swift's Attic. It is a short walk from the hotel and well worth it. It's a bit loud but we had a blast. Neat cocktail selection and the food was tops. The tapas style servings made it feel like a gourmet buffet. The Devils on Horseback were so good we ordered a second round. How can you not love candied bacon?!?! They had some real interesting selections including Braised Windy Hill Goat and Warm Beeler's Pork Cheeks. Both of these were delicious. The Ice Ball Oldie cocktail is a cool concept. Most all of the drink 'mixers' are frozen into the ice ball. As the Woodford Rye melts the ice, the flavors of the drink continuously evolve. I would rate this a must not miss if in Austin.

I returned here for a full meal with friends. I had been here for happy hour a year ago and was impressed. First, GREAT waitstaff. My waiter from last year even remembered me! The special frozen large cube cocktails are amazing. The various small plates shared were of ample portion and the highest quality. You may struggle finding this unassuming location but you will not be let down.

This is a great place for sharing really interesting dishes. I was with seven friends (attending a conference), and we had the chef's tasting (surprise us!). The blistered shishites Ipeppers) were fantastic, but the best dish was last - braised goat shoulder. I would have never ordered any of these dishes on my own so it was a real treat to sample all of this cool food (pork cheeks? - yum!). And the price was extremely reasonable.

The duck and bass dishes are phenomenal. The iceball cocktails are great. Intimate setting. Recommend for couples or friends.

This place was amazing! Great ambiance, fantastic service, amazing cocktails and the food was unique and incredible. The flavor combinations were really amazing. One of the cocktail options includes an ice ball with the mixer and alcohol in it, and then at a fraction of the cost they top you off as you drink the first one. Such a great idea!

We happened upon this little spot accidentally. The portions are small except for the Kale salad which could feed 3 people. Kale salad was delightful. Squid was tender. Korean beef salad was good. It seems pricy but you only need 2 small plates to really fill you. Waiter was attentive and quick. Super trendy decor

This place was great! I always like trying new little places when I travel and this is one of the best. Not only was the service top notch, but they had a nice selection of drinks and the food was fantastic. The absolute best squid that I have ever had was here. They called them squid fries and they are great! I can not wait to go back to Austin to try some more food here!

Our first night in Austin was at swifts attic. We arrived to a very noisy but fun restaurant. Our waiter suggested that we try the chef's choice menu. The food kept coming and all dishes were creative and a delicious! I would definately come back to Swifts attic next time I am in Austin! Highly recommend! Great service and food!

Basically, this is a "tasting" menu and you should know that up front. The waiter said something about "family style" ordering off the menu, meant to be shared. As someone else said, the menu is confusing. I like "tasting menus," but you should get the bang for the buck. Small and overpriced portions.

Swift's Attic was recommended to me by the travel company Pack Up & Go. My bestie and I planned a trip to celebrate our 50th birthdays. We ordered several tapas plates at the restaurant, and loved every single bite. The corn fritters with rum & golden raisin butter we're hot, golden ,delicious nuggets. The bacon wrapped, chorizo stuffed dates were amazing little bites of salty/sweet perfection. The sweet pots were delicious with the two different kinds of curry sauces. We also stuffed ourselves with perfectly roasted brussel sprouts with golden raisins and almonds. We enjoyed all that yumminess with some great champagne, courtesy of Swift's, in honor of our birthdays. We didn't even make it to dessert, we were so full! Def a place I would go back to again and again!

I liked the atmosphere, but I was disappointed in the food. It is a great location on Congress, in an old historic building, appropriately you have to go up the stairs to get there. However, the food was sadly average.

Visited here on a recent trip to Austin. The menu was interesting and all the food we had was very good. However the desert menu was limited. We had a few issues getting our table and the first one was really cold. We were moved but it’s not an ideal start to a meal. The other problem was we ordered a special item which the lady said she’d tell us if it was out and she didn’t. At the end of our mains, it hadn’t arrived and our new waiter informed us it was gone a long time ago, but no one bothered to tell us. Overall we had a nice evening and I do think it’s worth checking out!

Went here with a group of 12 and TOTALLY ENJOYED this wonderful restaurant! Tapas was the name of the game and we had a good portion of the offerings- Excellent food to share! Great tasting and fun trying so many wonderfully flavored dishes! In addition, bar choices were vast and interesting. Wine, spirits and beer selections were excellent. We totally lost track of time - eating, sharing and toasting our great times spent working together at a great company! Service was as good as the food! So much fun - you must try it!

Warmly greeted, quickly seated. Great service, good choice of food with a trendy twist along with very interesting brunch time drinks including a delicious & complimentary iced coffee with a shot of rum. absolutely delicious and or interesting take on mimosa's which proved very popular with our group of ten, rolling in from Dallas, Houston, Victoria Tx & Melbourne Australia. We were intent on having a good time and Swifts Attic went right along. Our waiter, Mark, was top class, knowledgeable, funny & entertaining whilst never intrusive. His service was exceptional. We had thumbs up around the table for a very enjoyable brunch. Reasonable prices this restaurant seemed to cater for couples through to groups of 10 maybe 12, very much enjoyed. Cheers!

This restaurant on the 2nd floor of an old building in downtown Austin had a very interesting menu. They encouraged us to order dishes to share. We did and each of them were very unique. That's why I like to eat out and not cook. I would never be able to cook this well. And Blake and Molly's service was impeccable. Try it out!

Took my husband here for his birthday. the staff was great in accommodating us in a booth. Their signature cocktails were the best. Food is tapas but portion size is large. Very tasty food and lots of variety

We showed up for dinner early (around 4:30) and it was no problem at all to get served. The bar was packed!! The Brussels sprouts did not disappoint nor did any of the other small plates we ordered. It was a perfect place for an early dinner and place to try many different foods. The waitresses were super friendly and eager to share their favourites. We even lucked out with a free drink from the bar. A French 76- delicious

Disclosures: I am a 57 year old man. I do not need big balls of ice in my drink to make it a party. Others might like that. That's fine. I don't. Swift's Attic is a fine restaurant, but it's not for me. I typically look at my reviews as too positive. Let me take a slightly different tack. Business associates raved about the place, so it works for them. We went there, I tried the glass with the big ice ball and said, "Can you just bring me a glass of wine?" It's a small plate (I don't think we're allowed to call it Tapas) place. That's fine. Certainly all the food was well prepared and well presented. In some instances extraordinarily so. But even my more enthusiastic companions found things they did not care for. One person wanted only kosher. Someone else was vegan. That's fine, but not in a place designed for a shared food experience. I think Swift's Attic does a fine job at what it is selling. I just have concluded that it's not what I'm buying.

We came here for lunch and there were mixed reviews. First of all, as others have commented, the place is just so cute. I love that it's up the stairs off the street and a little hard to find. The decor has that vintage loft feel to it. Service was pretty good, although we had to ask each time we wanted a refill. My pork pastrami sandwich was decent but didn't have a ton of sauerkraut but the arugula parm lemon salad that came with it was delicious. My husband thought the bowling alley burger was average. Our friend had the braised goat shoulder and he said it was delicious. They had some great vegetarian options too. All in all a pretty decent spot!

This little gem in downtown Austin is destined to become a favorite. Edgy, daring, delicious! It's like American tapas, so you can try and share many things you might have never tried. For me, that was the goat shoulder. And I'll have it again and again. My husband and I enjoyed everything we tried, including Orange is the New Quail, Squid Fries and our favorite - Devils on Horseback! Bacon, figs - I can't even explain this. I can only tell you it is an AMAZING combination of flavors. Let your taste buds be adventurous! Their cocktails are also fantastic. The atmosphere is friendly and trendy. A great place to go with friends.

We arrived in Austin late and although the kitchen was closed, they accommodated us. The food was wonderful and the service was top notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We had the bacon wrapped dates, Brussels sprouts and flank steak. Yummy.

My colleagues and I dined her for lunch during SXSW and had not only a fantastic meal, but we loved the service and the ambiance as well. We'll be back next year!

We came here for some evening drinks. The Blackberry Bonded was delicious. Monkey 47 was $18 which is the price usually everywhere... Had some light snacks which were pretty typical. Would recommend going for Happy Hour. Had a good time here. Good Service.

Found this place by accident, and truly enjoyed their beautiful hand-crafted Old Fashioned cocktail and some intriguing appitizers. The staff was great, the vibe was cool, and the ambience was amazing.

The concept here is order to share, not individual portion. Our waitress explained it well and made recommendation good enough for our group to stay full. As much as the staff are trying to help, they are not given power / authority to make customers happy. They have to ask the manager / owner about a lot of simple thing like merging table and adding chairs. Unfortunately the manager/owner attitude and service were abysmal. When our group grew in size beyond initial plan, we couldn’t ask for a chair and one person had to stand for almost an hour. The manager/owner came out “explaining” why they can’t add chairs in a way as if shouting at customers. I consider that a bully attitude. Definitely don’t deserve the rating and the business.

The food is fantastic, if a little too fussy and cutesy, but the noise level is so horrible that we left early having shouted ourselves hoarse in an effort to converse. Requests for lower volume resulted in even louder music and pretty abrasive music at that. Very, very frustrating.

Our hotel recommended swifts and such a great find! We would have never found it on our own. Small plates to be shared and we ordered four (for the two of us). Edamame was excellent, as was the steak sushi and pad Thai ( order it with chicken) and the shrimp and grits. All of it is creative and just a bit different than what you would expect. We topped it off with churros which were probably some of the best I have ever had. Drinks were reasonably priced since we went before 7:00. All in all a great dinner and nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Swift's Attic is my all time favorite place. we are talking top 10 meals of my life!!! We just flew in from Alaska and this was my top place to go visit. I recommend the pork cheeks they are amazing. The edamame with pop rocks is a must as well. Their dessert menu is amazing as well. I don't think I have had a single dish we didn't love. We even brought our 12month old and she loved all the food!

Came here for a price fix dinner for a bachelorette party. The service was great but nothing compared to the food - amazing. We had vegetarians, foo allergies - you name it - and they accommodated to us all. Drive-in-movie style dessert was out of this world.

We visited in September 2016 and our server suggested letting the Chef select our courses. We were excited and the food did not disappoint. It was unique and delicious and the service, while casual, was terrific! I really liked the intimate setting. Great meal!!

Everything that I had at Swift's was flavorful and was presented in an attractive way. The food not only tasted great, it had a combination of textures, color, and flavor that makes this restaurant a favorite of mine.

A couple teammates and I went here for lunch. I highly recommend this place to eat! I had the burger which was cooked perfectly and tasted awesome! The two I way with both had the fish and chips sandwich, they also said it was excellent. The service here was also great, very frendily and helpful.

Almost missed this place but went through a second time to look at menus because we were so indecisive. The waiting was awesome and gave great recommendations. We ended up getting two of the lunch specials / a salad and sandwich combo but it was all SO good! Would definitely recommend!!

We enjoyed happy hour Friday evening - the tempura fried veggies were lightly deep fried and plentiful. Can't say I was very fond of the lettuce wraps. But I am intrigued to return and try more of the menu items. Drink prices during Happy Hour were fair and there is comfortable seating as well as large group tables. We will be back.

This was an absolutely wonderful restaurant. The food was fantastic and the server Kevyn was fabulous. Her recommendations were spot on!!

Great, historic atmosphere and lively crowd. It was fairly noisy but it is a great dining experience. The best of "Small plates" dining and sharing! For my cocktail, I enjoyed "Beets by Swift's a beet infused Hendrick's gin, white peppercorn syrup, lime juice, splash soda! It was great and not tooo much beet, but just enough! Make sure to get the Devils on Horseback- candied bacon, black mission figs, gorgonzola dolce, pink peppercorn gastrique. I wish we would have gotten a double order!! Plus the Warm Tender Belly Farms Pork Cheeks, with fig, mustard, sourdough toast were awesome! The staff is friendly, attentive and helpful! With at least 14 draft beers, with dinner I chose the Live Oak HefeWeizen. I can't wait to go back to Austin, just to visit Swift's!! Reservations are almost a must... Monday night and the place was packed!

Very busy place with line to get in at peak hours. We went around 6-7 and it was full but they found us a couple of seats. Very friendly staff! The drinks are unusual and very tasty. We did not dine but I️ wish we had. We had already eaten but the menus and aromas were enticing. Put this place on your craft cocktail list for Austin.

Swift's Attic is one of our favorites. The eclectic setting upstairs on Congress is in the middle of Downtown ATX's vibrant scene and the small plates and great bar make for a memorable dining experience.

We found Swift's Attic while walking on Congress and decided to give it a try. Upstairs in an older building, tables are close together. All dishes are served family style tapas. Very interesting combos of flavour & foods. I enjoyed our choices, but found portions a bit small so we had to order more dishes. No complaints on service, just a bit expensive for the amount of food we received.

Not a place for families nor a good place for dinning. It is a well appointed place for drinks and appetizers. Food is good but really expensive here!

This is a very cool place. The food is served tapas style and meant to be shared There were 3 of us and we were advised by our server to order 5-6 different dishes. The food was so flavorful and like a party in your mouth. One was better than the one before.

Based on a recommendation we made a reservation for Swifts Attic and are so glad we did. Group of 6 celebrating a birthday. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. It is a small plates restaurants so order lots of things and pass them around. We had so many favorites; the sweet pots, devils on horseback, flank steak, squash torte. Oh and I can't forgot about the drinks! They have ice sphere which they infuse and freeze flavors into-be sure to order one of these. I had the Pim Ball-sooo good. Strong at first but as the ice melts things become infused turning it into a drink experience of a lifetime.

We only had apps and drinks and all were excellent. The bacon wrapped figs are so delicious. Beautiful atmosphere.

Wow. Wow, wow, WOW. Very interesting menu, must go back and try other things. I had the brussel sprouts side, plus the quail. Both dishes had me pausing to waft the wonderful aroma's and the taste was exquisite. Sat at the bar - a friendly scene and service great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We stopped in Austin for brunch at Swift's! What a cool place! Everything our table tried was yummy! I even tried a sip of someone's build-your-own bloody mary and it was amazeballs! The monkey bread is scrumptious too! Bacon was perfection! We'll be back to this place for sure! WOW! oh, and our server was THE BEST! great recommendations and interaction and a gem!

Really enjoyed our visit to Swifts Attic. You literally walk up stairs to a beautifully done second floor. The staff were all very friendly and point on. It is more of a tapas restaurant. We had a variety of items from the menu to try as there were four of us. Some our favorites were the Charred Edamame, Devils on Horseback, Squid Fries and (probably the winner) Korean BBQ Flank Steak. They have a very imaginative drink menu that we also enjoyed. We would definitely go back when in Austin.

Hands down one of best restaurants I've been to in Austin! I had the corn fitters, bacon wrapped figs, and the gnocchi. The desserts were sooooo creative and not too big, you can find room! Fabulous bar tenders!!!

Okay, so, full disclosure, the first time I went to this restaurant we had a reservation, but they kept us waiting for close to 45 minutes for our table. As I was waiting, I was already writing my 1 star review in my head - then they seated a group of three (same as us) who had a later reservation before us. I was livid. However, they gave us a round of cocktails while we were waiting, and then gave us a bunch of free appetizers when they did finally seat us. I was almost angry at how good the food was, because I didn't want to like them so much. But the food was amazing. So much so, that despite the screw up, we went back with a larger group a couple of weeks later. This time the service was exceptional - seated immediately and our waiter made sure to attend to the various dietary restrictions of some in our group. The food is awesome as are the cocktails. I was pretty annoyed by the first experience, but am glad I gave them another chance, and I will definitely be back. Definitely recommend! First time it was $210 for three people. Don't remember how much it was the second time.

Stopped in here for brunch. Was told we would have 45-60 min wait.. Decided to wait for a bar seat which promptly opened within 15 min. Got a few drinks before we got seated. Went here specifically for the pork cheeks. Unfortunately, we were informed that they were completely out. The disappointment level was high. Fortunately, the bartender Sam had the perfect recommendation. He suggested the Kimchee Flank Steak dish which absolutely killed it. Also had the Swift's Benny with a Sriracha Hollandaise sauce. What a great brunch.. Truly one of the best brunches I have ever had. Wife is celiac. The XChef actually came out to work with my wife. Can't ask for better service than we received there. This place is a must visit if you are going to be in Austin.

A beautiful hidden gem above the street level, mis-matched chairs and cozy decor. We went when it was literally 110 degrees and enjoyed IceBall cocktails -- amazing!!! The ice has specifically curated ingredients and the liquor is poured over so that as it melts, the tastes change. You can get a second pour over the ice ball for less -- then eat the remaining slushy with a spoon. So fun! The wait-staff is attentive and knowledgeable and has lots of great recommendations, also seems to be having fun at work. We enjoyed delicious apps, vegan and otherwise. Creative, happy place! Very Austin.

Very arrogant staff. The feel was that they thought they were too cool to provide good service. I don’t give this restaurant another year. And it is a shame because their food is good. Nevertheless it is not worth the lack of attention from the wait staff.

12 reviews 11/26/2016 We loved the food, unique combinations, quality ingredients...try the pork cheek. Service was coordinated and smooth. Drinks were also unique and very tasty...we had their version on a Pimm's cup. Everything was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. We had dinner. BTW Happy Hour is 2-6:30 pm !!!

Not usually a big fan of small plate format but it works here! The smell was amazing from the minute we walked in the door. Pleasant bar with fun drink specials for happy hour. Everything we ordered was good but especially liked the Larbanada off the bar menu. Fun open atmosphere with perfect lighting. Loved it.

Favorite brunch spot. Lovely Bloody Mary bar. $1 Mimosa's. But the food is over the top. I have never eaten dinner here.

Walk up the stairs off Congress to the rustic-looking Swift's Attic. Their happy hour is decent with wine /beer in the $5-6 range. I was not that keen on their main menu so we did not eat here for dinner.

Must stop and try their drinks! The ambiance is amazing and everything about the place is cozy and homey!

Went with a group of five and shared a bunch of plates. The highlight of the night was the charred edamame served with pop rocks. No joke, one of the most surprising and successful uses of halloween candy in a savory app you could ever eat. The rest of the food was good to great, but the vegetable dishes were consistently the best. Both the Brussels sprouts and the pad thai made with kohlrabi noodles were revelatory. The chicken was a bit dry while the pork cheeks and scallops were over salted which ruined the delicate flavors in each. Finally, beware the bourbon list without prices. I chose Pikesville as I know it’s a lower priced rye and it was $21 - 50% more than their in house cocktails. That left me in a sour mood and happy I didn’t order a Pappy.

Been here twice for the Sunday brunch and once for dinner. Had some very flavorful dishes and combinations that don;t sound like the ingredients would go well together - but the chef at Swift's Attic makes them delectable. The cheese stuffed banana bread alone is worth the trip for Sunday brunch. Their version of an Eggs Benedict uses potato instead of a muffin, and the sauce has a hint of sriracha - again, not what you'd expect but very mouth-watering. The Croque Madame was huge and delightful. One of the best restaurants in Austin - and a very hip environment.

Group of 13. We had a great experience mixing many different plates and tastes! Try the grilled edamame, devils on horseback, and the goat. Fantastic service from J.

If I hadn't received a tip from a local about this restaurant, I'd have missed a great experience. It's tucked away above another business on Congress Street and so the sign is not obvious from the street. When you emerge at the top of the stairs to find a cozy space with a high energy vibe, you realize you are in for a treat. I'd probably also have passed just on the basis of the menu, which featured at the time a menu item described (as I recall) as braised goat. It did not sound appetizing at all but our table of three shared about 9 small plates including the goat and everything (including the goat) was fantastic. This is a really great choice for a local culinary experience within the tourist district.

I had an ice ball cocktail and the goat with chickpeas, mint, and yogurt sauce. The drink was creative and tasty and the food was amazing. I hope to come back soon!

This restaurant was recommended to us from a bartender at another establishment and he was spot on! This place is not only esthetically beautiful but the food was amazing and creative!! We sat at the bar and had received wonderful service along with excellent menu recommendations! Highly recommended!!!

This was my 2nd visit to Swift's Attic and I think I fell in love a little bit more. The food is AMAZING! The staff is fun and very helpful with choosing which items you want to order. The ice ball drinks are off the hook - try their ice ball old fashioned - you won't be able to have just one. If you want to check out the hip vibe of downtown Austin this is a must on your list.

Simply superb and quite unexpected. We were in Austin a Tuesday evening before Christmas and want dinner near a jazz club, The Elephant Room. Swift's Attic is literally just upstairs -- and on that basis we chose it. Turns out that this place has the best food of any restaurant I know of in the USA that is currently open. (I knew of a couple close competitors in NYC but they died of Covid.). The dishes are small but three was just right for the two of us and they were beyond delicious. The atmosphere was dark, a bit moody, and wonderful. She really liked it. If good fortune brings us back to Austin, we're gonna go here for sure.

This place has a great craft cocktail selection. The plates are large enough to share with a group of 3-4 so you could get a few to try all the tasty items. The corn fritters were outstanding. The Korean BBQ flank steak so tender and juicy. Also the sweet pots were delicious! I’d recommend this place and the unique furnishings and gorgeous historic building is awesome setting.

This place was highly recommended and we were very happy to get a reservation on short notice. There were four of us and we had five plates: bacon wrapped figs (very tasty), a fresh mozzarella special (good), roasted Brussels sprouts (good), shrimp remoulard (good), scallop something, which was $22 for two large scallops and not very good. We were all drill pretty hungry, so went down the street for burgers. I would not go back.

Great evening at Swifts Attic, it was midweek, a Tuesday night but the place was busy. We had drinks at the bar first and then dinner. What a selection of small plates, food was excellent. The service was good. Not cheap but worth it.

It was ok, nothing to write home about. We had the hummus which was good and the eggplant was tasty. The salad looked good but was average. Drinks were drinks.

The relaxed environment seems to camouflage a tremendous experience. The food is innovative and appropriately portioned. The service is stellar. They know the menu and beverage selection. The wine list is eclectic and thoughtfully chosen. The beer selection is also diverse. We ended up measuring other restaurants in Austin by the standard set by Swift’s Attic.

My second visit to Swift's Attic was just as extraordinarily delicious as my first. Everything is sources within 50 miles of Austin. The handcrafted cocktails are always a nice touch and are yummy with the flavored ice balls. We shared a variety of appetizers but loved the pop rocks with the charred edamame. Devils on horseback and the charred chilies were also a great way to start. I had the Porkstrami this visit and want to try everything on the menu. The dessert was a special for the day with ice cream, brownies, corn flakes, coffee and other toothsome treats. The architecture is historic yet modernly done. Great place, you can't go wrong.

Loved our Lost Creek Neighborhood Association date night delivery with Swift's Attic! The vegan options were delish and the cocktail was fun. The staff had a Zoom call to walk us through the meal (aka virtual server) and they even supplied a link to the music they'd be playing in the restaurant during the meal. Closest thing we've seen to a restaurant recreating their experience at home. And, it felt good to support our local folks! Swift's Attic created a customized 4-course menu for 2 with a cocktail for our neighborhood & delivered it right to our door. We really enjoyed the experience!

A friend suggested we try this place on our first trip to Austin. Not disappointed! Very inventive menu like wok stir fry edamame with interesting dipping salt/spice mix. Goat cheese salad wasn't the usual run of the mill variety and delicious. Especially like the fish in a broth with broccoli. Would have been good with some rice to soak up the sauce. Only issue is small plates come out at varying times and sometimes waited a while for the next one on a busy Friday night. Definitely reserve in advance. Nice setting too and all in all enjoyed it.

Best Brussels Sprouts ever! Grilled with mushrooms and raisins. Edamame was alive with burst of flavor and "pop rocks" that make your mouth sparkle! The Korean BBQ Flank Steak was incredible! Served on Krispy Rice patties and robustly flavored sauce! The drinks were out of this world. They serve a collection of Ice Ball drinks where the flavors come in a frozen ball that melts as you drink it. Loved the Sage Lavender with Blood Orange Vodka! Our server Mark was warm and wise. Full of suggestions! One of the best meals we had in Austin!

This is my go to brunch spot every Sunday! I absolutely love the fact that they have $1 mimosas and you can top up your mimosa with grapefruit or peach for just an extra dollar!! The service is really great, but you definitely need a reservation for brunch! The croque madam is delicious and the portions are very filling! I also love the spinach salad that comes with crunchy bacon, quinoa and vital farm eggs! The desserts are excellent too and we loved the lavender donut!!

Stopped by for lunch while in Downtown. The place was busy with brunch crowd. The food was creative but too salty. The drinks were tasty though. I would recommend it as a near stop for a drink and people watching.

Family gathering, with attentive service and good food. Portions on small side, but larger than normal tapas. Menu limited and bring your wallet as on the pricey side if your hungry or a big eater.

What a great place for a group of friends. The tapas was flavorful and the drinks were awesome. We had a great waiter who suggested a variety of dishes. All 8 of us had fun sharing the generous portions. Price was good too.

Interesting place. Can't give all our choices a 5, but would definitely return. The Brussels Sprouts were the best plate we had. The quail was good, but not worth $18. The Devils on Horseback were excellent. Avoid the Shrimp Remoulade. We actually had the corn fritters for dessert! Solid service.

Business dinner for 10 people. Immediately acknowledged which is first priority. Eric then asked us questions and promptly based on responses offered us a chef’s choice menu, along with bartender’s recommendations for bourbons and wine. Every single dish was amazing! This restaurant will be on my “must return” list. As I found the site from recommendations on TA and booked the reservation, I received Kudos the next 2 days from everyone in our party. Everyone left saying it was the best food and service they have experienced all year!!!

Last year during SXSW, we popped into Swift's Attic for drinks and dessert. We kept seeing beautifully plated food go by and I made a mental note to come back for a full meal. Fast forward a year, back in Austin, and it was time to give Swift's a chance to live up to the expectation they had previously set. WOW! They didn't just meet that expectation, they exceeded it. I'm still dreaming about the corn fritters, anahiem chili polenta, and the goat shoulder, but every single dish that came to table was well conceived and well executed. (For two, we ordered 2 appetizers, a salad, and three entrees, so we got a good look at what the kitchen can do). The bar was also doing a bang up job with what they were sending out. I absolutely LOVE their Ice Ball cocktails. They are perfect for someone like me who wants a drink that is not too sweet where a quality spirit can take center stage. Finally, I just want to say how much I appreciate the terrific service we got. When I go to a restaurant like this, I want my server to be knowledgeable about what is coming out of the kitchen and give me clear direction about what to order based on my expressed preferences. I want servers to listen and engage in a dialog. When discussing the menu, our server encouraged us to order the pig's ear wrap. I was worried because I'd had this dish in another restaurant and it was mediocre and over sauced. He convinced me to give theirs a try and the folks back in Swift's kitchen did not disappoint. They knocked it out of the park. It was delicious! There is a lot of good food to eat in Austin, but the next time we are in town, I will definitely be eating at Swift's Attic.

Swift's Attic was certainly good, but with all the great dining options in downtown Austin, I don't think I'll go again. I ordered the Devils on Horseback (bacon-wrapped figs) and the blistered shishito peppers. The Devils on horseback was genuinely great. The shishito peppers were okay. I had one of the cocktails, which was very good, but a bit pricey (12). The service was very good. All in all, I have no criticisms. However, I just wasn't blown away by the place, and would probably try another restaurant next time I'm in town.

Absolutely amazing, the chicken Ricketts, the Brussels sprouts, the waygu beef the lamb meat balls all phenomenal. George our server was great also.

I was stunned when I asked the hostess how long Swift's Attic has been opened and she replied "2012." How did I not know about this place? It's amazing! We chose Swift's Attic for a pre-Paramount Theatre show dinner on a Tuesday night. We arrived before peak dinner time and even without a reservation were seated promptly. One of us is vegan, and the other is vegan + gluten-free and we felt completely comfortable with the server's knowledge of the menu* and the kitchen's ability to deliver food with slight modifications. (*When I told our server I was gluten-free, she immediately asked if I was celiac or just gluten-free. Impressive! Full disclosure: I'm just gluten-free, so I don't know what her menu advice would have been if I'd been celiac, but I feel certain it would have been an honest, knowledgable answer.) We ordered the charred edamame (with pop rocks!), Turn Up the Beet, and Nuac Cham brussel spouts. All the food was so creative and flavorful! Given that these were "small plates," we had expected to order additional food but were completely satisfied after one round shared between two people. We loved Swift's Attic so much that we returned three days later for another pre-show dinner but this time we made reservations. (Definitely recommended on a Friday.) Ordered the same menu items, but added the Pad Thai which was also excellent.

Yum, yum, yum. We went for Sunday brunch and it was amazing. Had the "famous" burger and the spinach salad with shrimp, along with a couple mimosas. Everything was delicious. The vibe is cool, Place is hip. Waitstaff attentive.

The bartender at the Hilton Canopy recommended this spot for us as we were checking out various places to go in downtown for drinks and bites. My friend knows her bourbons and the bartender suggested this should be our first stop on our "tour". You walk up the stairs to Swift's Attic (downstairs is The Elephant Room jazz bar, which is also very cool) and the decor is a mixture of beautiful old wood with modern touches. The bourbons line the back of the bar wall, so we sat at the bar to peruse the selections. Nate was the bartender and was extremely knowledgeable about all the bourbons. (He was a connoisseur himself!) My friend and him talked up various bourbons and bourbon "trees" of various distilleries. She wanted to try something different than what she had enjoyed in the past. Nate made some excellent suggestions I was told. I'm more a vodka drinker and Nate made me various specialty cocktails as I told him to surprise me (and boy, did he ever!) Since we were there for happy hour, Nate provided the associated menu, and we selected the "Rillette & Focaccia" plate. It contained chicken, chorizo, a bourbon gel, avocado purée, pickled onions, pecans and toasted Focaccia bread. Nate said you spread the ingredients of choice on the bread, and he recommended putting all the ingredients together as the flavors all complement each other. Boy, was he right again! I highly recommend this place if you love bourbon, specialty cocktails and attentive and knowledgeable service. Ask for Nate and you will not be disappointed!

We stopped here after a tour of Austin. The service was very good and fast. However, it was mid afternoon and they only served appetizers from the bar menu. The appetizers were delish but pricey. Beer on tap was awesome and happy hour prices saved $2 each. With our experience, I'd like to go back when the full menu was offered.

I've been in the US for a while, visited many big cities and ate in many good restaurants. Swift Attic was very different in terms of decor, menu and cocktails. I especially suggest you to taste different dishes in small portions. Pork cheeks was so delicious some of my colleagues thought it was beef. Spicy Edamame was so amazing I ordered another cup. Also cocktails are very original, they get tastier when the ice melts. A must eat if you're in Austin.

Great beer selection and very good food. Small plates, but not spanish as with typical tapas, but with southwest flair. Service is good. The restaurant is upstairs and quite noisy since the bar is the centerpiece.

We went looking for a place for 3 of us to have dinner for business in Austin and chose Swift's Attic. Cool place upstairs with a hip vibe to it. Loved the atmosphere. Service was great with the waiter carefully explaining the set up and each dish in great detail. We ordered the Brussel sprouts(Great), the sweet potatoes (the only dish I wasn’t fond of), calamari (nice size pieces that were lightly breaded - very good), a meatball app special (very interesting-pretty good) but the highlight of the mean was the Korean steak-fantastic! The waiter said it was the only menu item served at lunch, dinner and brunch and I can see why. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Great atmosphere and excellent drinks but the food is extremely over priced. They are probably compensating for the idiotic city council taxes but we ordered the scallops for $22 and got 2 of the smallest scallops I've ever seen. It had a terribly sweet sauce and no flavor. Be warned!

Fun place! It’s upstairs in the attic of a historic building. Eclectic decor, ala Aunt Betty’s attic. Food was good too with reasonable prices. Fish and chips, Cobb salad-yum. The hamburger was amazing, fresh bun, good bun to meat ratio, tender and juicy. Try the edamame and the shishuki starters.

This is one of our favorite spots for drinks and appetizers before we go listen to music at the Elephant Room as it is in the same building on the 3rd floor. The Tiger Apricots are the best. I’m not a huge fan of apricots, but these are so worth the trip. Wrapped in bacon accompanied by a chipotle honey sauce - amazing!

The ambiance was very neat. Lots of young adults, a bit noisy, but probably because it was hoppin'! The bacon wrapped dates were scrumptious. the brussel sprouts as welll, but the pad thai with kohlrabi noodles and tempeh was my favorite! Awesome looking drinks (didn't try any), but very unique and creative. Wish I had unlimited space in my stomach to try more food. Can you bring this restaurant to Milwaukee please?!?!

Super cool vibe in a weirdly decorated place with unique food. We went at lunch and ran the gamut from squid fries as an appetizer to a beef hamburger, "porkstrami", and a "cali" burger (cauliflower)! I also had the soup of the day, a cheesy potato soup. Everything tasted great and the service was spot on. Definitely worth a visit when downtown.

Visited this trendy spot a couple of years ago and was impressed. Expectations were high and this time it was a bit of a let down. Some really good dishes but some very ordinary ones. Was further let down by the hostess throwing wine over my friend and also smashing plates multiple times. To be fair the restaurant were very apologetic and gave us some complementary wine but all in all very average.

Swift's Benny comes with a sriracha hollendaise, and a bibimbop headlines the brunch menu. But you can go right down the middle to eggs with breakfast meat (fabulous bacon) and homefries, and the huge biscuits (yes, order some!) are as American Southern as they come. Their special coffee is a cold brew but you can get the regular stuff too. I had the Shrimp Remoulade, a salad (a bit to my surprise--I thought it just came with frisee but the whole thing was cold) with excellent flavor and totally fresh ingredients. You can order a la carte, and no way will you go away hungry. Great place for parents and their world-cuisine-ready students, but great for anyone who loves a good brunch. The atmosphere was charming, the service quick and friendly. I'll close with a big "thank you!" to Swift's for squeezing us in on a football weekend--we'll be back!

Stumbled upon this spot while strolling down Congress (north of lake/bridge) and was happily surprised by food, drink, ambience, and service. “Swift’s” does a wide variety of drinks and small plates, plus service was faster than expected on a busy Tuesday night. Not mind-blowing, and perhaps trying to be something greater than it is, but worth a visit if that’s your area!

Huge variety of small plates to share. We were a large group and tried just about everything. The bacon date appetizer was truly amazing, the goat (yes, goat!) meat dish was delicious. Brussel sprout dish was my favorite. Fun place, horrible acoustics so everyone is shouting, but hey we loved it!

My wife found this very hidden gem along Congress. The food was definitely upon reproach. I had the beautifully portioned Bahn Mi, and my wife had the perfectly accented Korean Beef Salad. I cannot praise this place any better, easily one of the top 5 lunches I have ever had....

We stopped for drinks and had some appetizers, as well. The squid fries were better than any calamari I have ever had. To drink we had the Strawberry Fields and the Pimm-Ball, both very good.

While the food was good, the service was terrible. We were told the food was served “family style”. Family style means the food all comes out at the same time so food can be shared. My husband’s halibut came out first. He was finished with his entire entree before my broccoli/kale crunch salad arrived. Our daughter’s food hadn’t been served until we asked about it. It was served a good 30 minutes after we ordered everything. Just not impressed.

Great for downtown lunch. Staff was very accommodating for our short time fuse we had for lunch. Service was good, menu was creative.

Stopped in Austin for a couple of days on business and ended up here on my first night for a late dinner. Most dishes are offered as small plates to be shared by everyone, three of us in this case. Since some plates were just OK and others quite good, I will describe my experience plate by plate. The first thing we ordered was a special called The Thai Fighter burger. Which was not a burger at all but rather a Thai wing sauce fried chicken thigh sandwich. In any case, it was quite good with all the flavors of peanut sauce, pickled peppercorn aioli, basil, jalapeños and a cilantro Asian slaw coming through separately, but yet working harmoniously together. All of that sandwich between a sesame see bun. Next up was a plate of Squid Fries and a plate of Ahi Crudo. The squid fries were a miss, mostly because the breading was not crispy, but soggy. The pieces of squid were thick so the crispy coating definitely needed to be there. On the other hand, the crudo was refreshing and welcomed. Plate number four was Pork Cheeks. This was served to be made into an open face sandwich by placing the pork cheeks on sourdough toast and lathering it with spicy mustard and fig jam. The condiments must be used to temper the saltiness of the cheeks. This dish was very good. Lastly, the next two dishes were Quail and Korean BBQ Flank Steak. The quail was nothing to write home about. Good, but not memorable. The steak also missed the mark. The flavors of Korean BBQ did not shine through at all. I will say, though, the crispy kimchi jumeok bap cake underneath the steak was tasty. Too bad I was full by this time, otherwise I would have eaten all the cakes on the plate. Based on the uneven experience we had, I would give this place another try whenever I'm back.

The concierge at our hotel recommended Swift’s Attic to us and we had a really good meal. Thee menu is all small plates that you share among the table. Our server was very helpful in helping us order the right amount for our table. The squid fries were especially delicious - they were thick and succulent. The one disappointment were the brussel sprouts which were over cooked and overdressed. We also had some pasta, a pork dish, yams and bacon wrapped dates - all were delish! Overall, the dining experience was really pleasant, the food was very good and the cocktails were tasty. When in Austin, I’d definitely hold back.

Second visit to this restaurant. Menu was different but still has the iconic edamame with pop-rocks, a must try! We ordered almost all items in the menu, and we enjoyed all. Highly recommended!

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday along with a group of friends. Our waiter recommended the omakase menu and be served family style. Before we said anything, he said they can accommodate any allergies, preferences, etc. My boyfriend has a nut allergy so he is very cautious when ordering, but since the waiter mentioned being able to accommodate allergies before even asking, he thought why not. He told the waiter to please bring nothing to the table with nuts. One of the items brought to the table was Brussels sprouts with almonds. We had them sent back. Another item comes out which was pork with a pesto. My boyfriend asked if the pesto had any nuts. The waiter said no it didn't. My boyfriend ate it and began having a reaction. He pulled the waiter aside and asked him to ask the chef if there were any nuts. A few mins later, the waiter returns and apologizes and says that it had walnuts in it!! Someone with an even more severe allergy could have been sent to the hospital! We had a whole night planned with our friends which was unfortunately cut short by this incompetent waiter and manager who didn't even seem to care. Never returning!

We spent the night in Austin and were in the mood for food that was out-of-the-ordinary---not burgers, pizza, Indian, or Chinese food. Online, we happened upon Swift's Attic and thought the food sounded intriguing, so we went. And are we happy we did! Our server brought us ice water and handed us the regular menu and a daily specials menu made up of a variety of small plates. We each ordered a drink, and later two varieties of IPA, and selected two small plates to start. Blistered shishito peppers served with a dipping sauce of Garrotxa Cheese and Banyuls vinegar were delicious and the portion very generous. The tomato panzanella came in a big bowl filled with heirloom tomatoes, homemade croutons, and cubes of cheese that tasted, as our server promised, like small grill cheese sandwiches--a delicious dish. After enjoying these and cleaning our plates, we noticed that nearly every table had ordered the Pork Cheeks, so we did too. The Pork Cheeks came in a white bowl and on the side was a stack of sourdough toast, a fig preserve and a dish of mustard. Our server told us how to layer the favors and it was absolutely delicious! We also ordered a dessert which combined a lemon panda total with small sasparilla-flavored kernels and a delicious sorbet. The staff were super friendly and the food wonderful. We will definitely be visiting again.

This is a tapas style restaurant with many options. I tried 5 dishes and all of them offered a twist on classic and not so classic dishes. The common theme was perfect balance of flavors. Everything was delicious and our waiter very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Second floor restaurant with small plates. Good bar, lots of noise. Very good service. Each dish well prepared and served at the correct temperature.

Swift’s Attic is in a super cute location in downtown. The service was more attentive than most places I visited in Austin. But the real show stopper was the inventive food. For apps, we had Brussels (amazing), corn fritters (great), and edamame with pop rocks (whoa, such a cool idea). I had the scallops which were amazing. They specialize in small plates intended to be served family style. Everything our party of 5 ordered was described as excellent. The food was very inventive and interesting. It provides an interactive dining experience.

For dinner they mostly serve small plates suitable for sharing which is what we did. We tried the blistered shishito peppers, corn fritters with rum raisin butter, beet salad, squid fries, the pork belly entree special and the special dessert which was a butterscotch cake with pineapples. Very high quality food with intricate and delicate flavors. Very impressed- can't wait to go back!

Menu changes daily so might be worth a look before you go. Small plates were very good. The ice ball Manhattan was one of the best drinks I've had in Austin.

We went to Swift's Attic with friends. 7 of us in total. We ordered a verity of items and everything was delicious. Service was great and the atmosphere was very nice. We would go back.

My husband and I visited, but I almost wish we had brought a few more people so we could try more dishes. Everything we got was wonderful! The truffle chicken was amazing!

Lunch time rolled around and this place was recommended and it was a quick walk from the JW Marriott. Everyone in the group ordered the Bowling Alley Burger (house ground beef, melted fontina, griddled onions, fancy special sauce, pickle spear, sesame seed bun), but me. I ordered the Poke and was not disappointed. The Poke consisted of Hamachi (a type of yellow tail), short grain rice, avocado, cucumber, with Japanese seasonings. It is pretty much fresh yellow tail sushi without the nori served on a plate. It was fresh and the various components added great flavors. The fish was fresh and seasoned with the Japanese seasoning, the avocado was fresh and added a great creaminess to the dish, the cucumbers were fresh adding a crunch. The rice was seasoned well and cooked just right, providing the perfect base for all the various flavors. I tried the burger, it was good, but I am so glad I ordered the Poke. The fries that were served with the burger were crispy and not overly salted. They also have a large selection of beer. Order the Poke, you won't be disappointed.

We had a wonderful brunch at Swift's Attic! My daughter has an egg allergy and they were able to accommodate her by changing the ingredients in her menu choice! We were very appreciative, as she doesn't join us for brunch often due to her limited options! We'll definitely be brunching with Swift's Attic again!

We came here on a recommendation from the concierge at The Driskell Hotel. We were amazed!! The rabbit was on special- absolutely melted in your mouth. Also had the Windy Hill Mo Rockin Goat, Pork Belly Verde, & the Koren BBQ Flank Steak. There were 5 of us- plenty to share!! Highly recommend Swift’s Attic!!

I decided to set up a birthday dinner with some friends at Swift's Attic. I was able to call in advance for reservations for a party of 10 people for 6pm on a Saturday. The reservation process was flawless and Swift's Attic had confirmed the day before my reservations. Note you can also do reservations online with a smaller party size. Upon arrival, the table was just finishing getting set up as the majority of my party arrived early. We were able to sit at the table before everyone arrived which was helpful. There were no drink menus at the table but that was quickly rectified and our table started with some drinks. I also had ordered the Blistered Shishitos and Nuoc Cham Brussels Sprouts for the table so we could all share. The shishitos were hit or miss on spiciness but overall good. The Brussel sprouts were tasty and it seemed the table enjoyed them. As we moved onto our main meal, we learned as we placed our orders that we couldn't split the bill. This ended up being an issue at the end of the night figuring out who ordered what meals, splitting the tax and tip for everyone at the table. As a whole party, it was not fair to split evenly between everyone as people ordered their own meals and drinks for themselves. For my main, I ordered the Atlantic salmon which was described as Thai dashi, black sesame paste, broccolini, preserved citrus. Overall it was just okay but honestly nothing special. I can make my own salmon better. My husband ordered the Korean BBQ Flank Steak which was described as crispy kimchi jumeok bap cake, grilled scallion, sweet galbi sauce. My husband said the flank steak was meh and tough but the kimchi jumeok bap cake was amazing. It was interesting to note that his portion was much larger and cheaper than my poor small salmon fillet. Before we ordered our meals we were told that this was a family sharing style restaurant. I found this concept strange with the way the food was presented. My salmon filet would have been awkward to share with a large party, even if we ordered the suggested two dishes per table. It would have been great for 2-4 people but not our party size. I would consider coming back but never with a large party. The issue with not being able to split up the bill should have been informed when I making the reservations. Our party was a total of 9 people (1 person had to cancel very last minute). I don't see why making it into 6 checks would have been an issue. Overall, the food was hit or miss and the drinks were good.

Took a group of 10 here. An unbelievable experience. Erik, our server, recommended we allow the chef to prepare our entire meal off-menu. They overwhelmed us with courses from appetizers to desert. We must have had 15 courses by the end. There was just enough food on each course for a serving+ and the quality was exceptional. We were all stuffed by the end! The bartender came over and went through his extensive bourbon and wine lists and made exceptionally good recommendations of each. This was one of the highlights of the trip – and my team is still speaking about it.

Neat decor, great staff, great food. We went for brunch and thoroughly enjoy our meal. Afterwords browsed the downtown area.

Enjoyed the most creative lunch menu and nice wine list. Jules Taylor Cab Sauv was perfect on this hot day and three of us sampled widely different dishes. A little noisy for good conversation. Brian was very attentive and knowledgeable.

THE GOOD the service was great and friendly. Fritters were good and korean pork belly bites were delicious. Unique drinks in hip setting. The bad after $50 we left hungry. As far a tapas theme too small of plates for the price. And limited choices. Need to add filler tapas Would not go if your hungry now a value place. Great for date night.

Stopped by last night to have a drink with friends. Can't speak to the quality of the food, we only had drinks. I ordered a Col. Taylor small batch bourbon on the rocks. This is a nice moderately priced, widely available bourbon. A bottle of this bourbon retails for $35-$40 a bottle. I would expect to pay $10-$14 for this drink in a high end establishment. I was shocked when I got the bill and they charged $23.50. Normal markup on alcohol is 4-5x. This is a 10x markup. There are lots of great bars and restaurants in Austin. Skip this one unless you want to

Friends and I attended a concert and were looking for somewhere that served late dinner. We made a reservation but ended up running slightly later than planned. We called to let them know and the hostess told us that the kitchen would stay open for us. The hostess and our server were extremely accomodating and the food was delicious. They serve smaller bites which are great to share!
Unique flavor and delicious!
Swift's Attic is one of those places in downtown Austin that is a hole in the wall that is not to be missed during your visit. Here are some suggestions that you might like that I tried: Corn Fritters with rum raisin butter was delicious. For tapas servings, it was huge. It batter also was nice and crunchy. Korean BBQ Flank Steak with crispy kimchi jumeok bap cake, grilled scallion, sweet galbi sauce.... man... this was really good. This is probably one of their best signature dishes. The meat was very tender. My favorite of all, their Striped Bass with fingerling potatoes, zucchini, HausBar Farms florets, verjus butter was unbelievably soooooo goooood! I highly recommend. So flavorful. And I save the best for last... for desserts order their Purple Rain horchata Bavarian, sarsaparilla, toasted flour, cinnamon, ube-rice ice cream. Whooooweeee, man this was just fantastic. Now it's a little sweeter than some may like so if you don't like sweet desserts, this may not work for you but I think it's so worth ordering and trying. PS - I also want to thank our awesome waiter for serving us considering, they were close to closing. We truly appreciate your excellent service. Cheers!
