Sunday breakfast, good food, great vibe

By Jeff H |

Went for Sunday Breakfast with a local. It was busy but not overly crowded. We got in quickly. Great menu, with lots of choices. I eat Gluten Free and had the pancakes. They were delicious and came with real maple syrup! I also had the turkey bacon and it was equally good. Server was friendly and polite. Food took a bit longer to come out than expected but the small delay was bearable. It has a very relaxed vibe with some of the wait staff wearing fun themed clothes. The cost seemed typical for a good breakfast place. We went to the Santa Monica location.

Classic late night diner

By Ted F |

Great and fun. Always buzzing with a typical LA scene. Food is solid, desert is great (try the peach cobbler).

Fun, busy place

By Karen G |

We enjoyed this place. Staff is super efficient - coffee cup is always full. Fun, old fashioned diner with modern food options. I ate here several times - the breakfast options and the sandwiches were really good. Coffee was good. I wasn't as crazy about their salads, but loved the soups. Vegetarian and some organic options. The best part is the community and social atmosphere.

There is no rope swings.

By Fayedrope |

Had breakfast there with my daughter. Atmosphere is hip. We visited around Hallowe'en, a skeleton was seated at the counter with a newspaper and coffee. We both had eggs bennies, tasted over complicated with spinach and caramelized onions. Coffee was good and service was great.

Great place for a meal

By Falaniko |

Had breakfast and lunch here and the food quality was excellent and the service was on point. Monitoring my coffee levels and the kids drinks with continued refills. Locals attend but main major clients are from the hotel next door. They have a goos range of traditional american food and just as many healthy options. Generous service of french toast serves with butter and syrup. I added a banana. Daughter has pasta bacon in pasta and creamy sauce and it was great, again good size portions. This is a cool place to have any meal with the family it will fill the spot. And prices are quite reasonable.

Good diner food.

By JeffNV |

Have been coming here since the mid-1990s. The place is good diner food, if you go in expecting that you won't be disappointed. Beyond that people really go for the scene rather than the food..

Nice little diner

By Danielle in Perth |

We had breakfast at Swingers. This place has decent prices and the servings are just right. Not busy either.

Jumping joint, good breakfast

By Christie B |

We enjoyed a good, American breakfast and good coffee. You can't beat the $4.50 breakfast of eggs, pancakes, and bacon, all well prepared. The service was friendly and prompt. We stopped in at 10 pm and the place was hoping with the late night crowd.

Get the club without the meat!

By Travel Bug |

This place is and always has been cool and the food is beyond good. I've had the club minus the meat more times than I can count. The bread is fresh and grainy. Get fries and just enjoy the awesome setting.

Great service, friendly staff , very affordable and tasty meals, loved the name Hollywood Swingers Diner!!!

By PennitDarwin |

I first visited after a loooooong flight from Australia whilst I was waiting for my room to be free at the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel next door. A booth at the back, free wifi, a continuous flow of coffee and a monster salad made the couple of hours pass quickly. I returned for dinner and enjoyed some really tasty home made soup and a sandwich. The family arrived early next morning and it became my sons daily coffee stop and our hang out place if we want breakfast or lunch. The grand kids (8,10,12) loved it and the 12yo wanted to drop in for chicken soup at 10pm one night AFTER we had been elsewhere for dinner!! It was enjoyed with great gusto!! A wide range of affordable and more than ample dishes, wine and beer are available (not sure about other drinks but we had wine and beer) opens pretty well all the time except I think about 1am to 5 am.... Well worth a visit if you like good home cooking and friendly service in an old fashioned diner

What am I missing?

By Peter H |

I've gone here many times, mostly late at night when nothing else is open, and it never once been anything but mediocre. So why is it that each time I got there is a lime up and the tables are fulled with hipsters, and struggling actors? The food is passable at best, the atmosphere is 50's diner dinge, and the prices kinda high for what you get. The only good thing I'll say about it is that it's often open long after everything else in this city has been shut. If your looking for a club sandwich and fries at 2AM, this may be your only choice. But I'd go to the Ralph's, buy a loaf and make my own.

Awesome diner experisnce

By DocRozey |

Authentic diner with great burgers and service, cool theme and friendly attentive servers that fit right in

Arrogant menu, awful service : too much promising

By Steameater |

We went once there because we did two movie soirées and came back late at our room in the Beverly Laurel Motor Lodge, but we did not came back the second night. At first, I came in and wondered if they were still serving (as a french I did not pay attention that it was a diner). So I asked the waitress and she - litterally - laughed at me, and answered "yes" behind her teeth. We sat at the bar and I heard her tell her co-worker what had just happened, he laughed real hard, staring at us. We were both really disappointed. Then we ordered food, my boyfriend asked for eggs, they were dreadfully overcooked and tasteless, I asked for tofu in a sort of fusion salad, it was horribly fade, tasteless and worse it tasted humidity, if I may say so. At the end of this terrible late dinner, came the waitress with a big smile on her face and the check in her right hand. We didnt give any tip, and she stared at us while we left. Desastruous service, as bad as the food. Go for a Big Mac, your money will be more fairly used.

Yummy

By CheysShadow |

Very friendly staff. Nice little spot to get a meal. Love that we were able to walk around the area afterward. Food was fresh and as described. Love the options of drinks and knowledge of the staff. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting.

Great Diner in LA

Great place to eat as well as look for celebrities!! We enjoyed doing both on this particular trip to LA!!

About the only place to eat on Thanksgiving morning in LA

By VirginiaCW |

On Thanksgiving morning we were looking for a place to have a late breakfast and we drove around probably for an hour before we found Swingers on Beverly open. It's a diner type space next to a little hotel a couple of blocks east of the Beverly Center. It was packed with mostly locals and a few tourists and visitors too. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. It is not just a breakfast diner. They offer all food all day, and as it was Thanksgiving Day you could get turkey mashed potatoes vegetables stuffing a dessert anytime of the day for $23 and change. We settled for breakfast and had french toast avocado toast, and pancakes, each with eggs and meat - none of us is vegan. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. Our food wasn't hot when it got to us, that would be our only complaint, but they were so busy it was understandable. Very good value, very fun place, we would go back

In Santa Monica

By floridasuepg |

Swingers has Great food, fresh and affordable. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Interesting, fun decor. BLT on sourdough was delicious and my daughter enjoyed the hot, tasty peach cobbler. Another great find thru trip advisor.

Pleasantly surprised!

By palmercase |

Pleasantly surprised! We were looking for a place for dinner and we happened upon Swingers, we were not quite sure thought it was a bar? So we kept looking since we on foot we couldn't find anything else that was appealing. So we decided to give Swingers a try, we were pleasantly surprised, The atmosphere was like a diner, the service was fast and food was good as well as affordable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others

Update the hours

By Ivy K |

The kitchen last call at 250 am and server is not taking dining after 3am so whoever planing to come over around 230am be aware.

Real American breakfast

By Daniel-FLN-BR |

This was my first american breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. Really liked it. Before I went there I saw a TV coverage here in Brazil about Swingers, and I was not disappointed. It was located right next to Sofitel, where I stayed. Has a parking lot.

Fun late night meal

By JenAnnB |

After a concert, a bunch of us had a bite at Swingers. Great food, fun atmosphere. Lovely wait staff.

Right next to the Beverly Laurel Hotel

By Jan B |

I had a large salad with grilled chicken breast. It was very good. Another morning I had the breakfast special with French toast which was also good. The only reason we didn't eat there a third time was the music was too loud in the evening. Instead we went across the street.

Overrated - meager portions, disinterested service

By Bob H |

Having heard good things, I decided to give Swingers a try - and was sorely disappointed. While the décor is impressive and there is a good overall vibe, a few of the basic elements of the restaurant were lacking to the point that it adversely affected my overall dining experience. First, I went for breakfast with a friend who recently discovered he has high blood pressure; while Swingers is ready to bend over backwards for vegans and those with gluten restrictions, they were unwilling to substitute bacon or sausage for anything else (fruit, an extra pancake, nothing). In fact, the service was generally subpar - our drinks were only refilled by a friendly busboy who noticed our glasses were empty and the waiting staff seemed more intent on chatting with the hipster element, which was in full force at the dining bar, than serving other patrons. The servings were scanty and lacking in flavor. I could name several places in LA with better sauce for the huevos rancheros I ordered. (Tapatio should always be a last resort or a point of emphasis, not a masking agent.) Given the number of very good breakfast spots in and around nearby Farmer's Market, I'm surprised Swingers doesn't seem to care to step its game up; then again, maybe hipster haven is what their aiming for.

Good food on the go, great service!

By MuscleDog |

I spend a week in the motel above Swingers Diner, so naturally eating here was the easy choice. To my surprise I actually really loved coming here and think i ate here everyday for the week i visited. The staff are friendly and chatty and really make you feel welcome and comfortable. The food is good and there is a large variety of things to order. The prices are also great so eating here will fill you up and not break the bank. thank you to all at Swingers i hope to see you next year when i come bakc to LA for another visit from Oz.

Great late night spot

By L2Connelly |

I came here after my birthday party and the menu had something for everyone. I really like the food. I am not a vegan but I even like the vegan food here. The night I went, electricity was knocked out by a windstorm and I love that this place stayed open. They could still cook almost anything (no toast or coffee, and we had to pay cash because the credit card machine couldn't function.) They welcomed us in, lit candles and put batteries in a boombox and played music. Awesome staff. I will always remember our powerless night at Swingers.

What a fun place to eat!!

By suzyG95003 |

Great food, really fun place to eat, and you never know who may be seated next to you. Lot’s of celebrities eat at Swingers

great diner

By Tom_Cobbley |

I think I have lost count how many times I have been to this place, but a recent breakfast was just perfect. Fluffy scrambled eggs, wheat toast and bacon, with unlimited coffee refills ought to be straightforward but in other establishments it often isn't. Here, it's done exactly right. Service is attentive and mostly charming, but can be a little haphazard at busy times. But for a place with a menu as long as Swingers' is, and that's open for something like 20+ hours a day AND in a great neighbourhood, this really can't be beaten.

Perfect diner for me and my kid

By Louise P |

We loved this diner. The food was excellent, good choice and fast service. Sometimes the music was a bit much early in the morning. The staff were lovely and friendly and it was my daughters first experience of an American diner. She felt like she was in a movie.

Breakfast at this place is delicious!

By mikentravels |

I came here with my girlfriend and a friend for breakfast and it was delicious. I had eggs bacon and english muffin, which was great. Iced coffee was very good. And the outdoor seating was very nice.

OMG YOU MUST EAT HERE

By Emkaloma |

Where else in LA can you get old school diner experience other than Swingers. Awesome service, huge giant amazing meals and not just greasy hangover food, Quinoa salads even, omlettes. We ate more than our body weight in food and i could have kept eating. I will visit here again on my next LA trip.

My Favorite Weekday Breakfast in LA

By HollywoodRichard |

As a freelancer on a budget, I'm always looking for bargains, and there is no better bargain than the breakfast special at Swingers. It's simply their All American (eggs, bacon or sausage plus French Toast) for for $4.95 -- less than you'd pay at Denny's but in a far cooler environment. And the location is so central I can convince just about anybody to meet me there.

Perfect.

By RMMNZL |

Had breakfast & dinner here a number of times during my stay in LA, right next to my hotel. Great feeling and staff are lovely. Service is top notch as well.

Great Dessert

By SoCal_Josh |

I tried their mocha here, it was really good and served in a really big coffee cup. I also tried the peach cobbler which was hot and delicious. My first time here but will be back to try the dinner menu.

Great Brunch Place for Both Vegans and Meat Eaters

By Laurie M |

Our family had brunch here recently. The food was very good. Many vegan options. My vegan breakfast burrito was delicious. The rest of the family enjoyed their food also. It was a busy Sunday morning so the restaurant was noisy.

Seinfeldian Diner

By Teresa H |

If Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer had lived in west LA/West Hollywood, they would have chosen Swingers as their diner. Variety on the menu for all eaters including veggies and vegans. The food is good but not outstanding. Milkshakes are tasty. But the atmosphere and diner styling make it great place to hang and just talk about nothing.

Fun Little Late Night Diner

By thewinsomewench |

This was the perfect late night stop for catching some dessert after a concert. The servers were in good spirits and were highly attentive, even after one in the morning. Most of us got the peach cobbler. It was average. Someone in the group got a peanut butter concoction that was pretty yummy. I'd go back again.

Awesome vegan options

By Wellington24 |

The staff and food here are great. And the decor is authentic old Hollywood. Excellent breakfast spot.

No fuss, good food

By AshleyW3 |

Typical diner style, lots of options, liked everything I had there - ate a few meals as I was staying at the hotel next door. Staff super friendly.

Classic LA Diner

By Dhama49 |

Lots of roomy booths, clean and bright diner. Good classic diner menu with baha vibe. I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and tomato for breakfast. If you want toast you need to order it. And if you want your side of tomatoes cooked you need to be specific.

Great food

By Vicky E |

Fantastic food and good jukebox - great place to get breakfast and very good vegetarian options! I ate many meals here on my trip to LA.

Great food & veggie options!

By Unicornsandrainbows |

I felt bad that the staff has to endure the construction, as I'm sure it's affecting business. Great option for a bite, especially if you're staying at Beverly Laurel. Excellent veggie options. One of my first favorite places in Los Angeles!

Good salads and veggie nachos

By Julia M |

We order 2 salads, a normal one and a tuna salad and both were really good, fresh and tasty, specially the tuna salad. We also order a vegetarian nachos, really good too. Price was good, service and restaurant really nice. I would go back if I travel to LA again.

Vegan Cheesecake

By Anna R |

We come to Swinger's any time we're in town. We love the ambiance. Old style Los Angeles diner fully equipped with sexy edgy servers in mini skirts and semi school girl outfit. The decor is very Andy Warhol and the up beat music and atmosphere accentuate the amazing cuisine. I'm a vegan in a household of non vegans so I love this place. The menu selection is epic. There is everything from your old stand by burger and fries to falafel and hummus and vegan chocolate chip pancakes! If you don't mind throwing caution to the wind and aren't counting calories make sure to add a delicious malty milk shake and end with a super creamy cupcake. Let's start with the entrees. My hubby ordered the Mediterranean Platter, it came with falafel and hummus and fresh veggies. I didn't taste it but it looked delicious. My husband said it was very good. My twins ordered the children's pasta, or came al dente. Both girls were disappointed there was no marinara sauce, only butter and mozzarella cheese. I ordered the vegan chocolate chip pancakes as always I was not disappointed. The cakes come cooked with a hint of cinnamon and sugar and filled with melted chocolate chips. Yummy! We also ordered red velvet cupcake and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes. The frosting is creamy and delicious based on my family's opinion! They are the best according to my kids. The ambiance and character of this pleasant diner make it a must see on your trip to Los Angeles! Don't miss this landmark:)

Yum! Yum! Yum!

By mom-2-4boyz |

So, we were staying in the hotel adjacent to the restaurant....every time we walked past the restaurant, it was jammed! 10:00 a.m., 5:00 p.m., 2:30 a.m....and, for good reason. The food is fantastic! We stopped in for breakfast...we sat inside...our server was fantastic! She made sure our coffee cups and water glasses were always topped off. We're a bit "high maintenance" as we like a little coffee with our creamer...that was always full, too! 3 of us ordered the cage free breakfast(?) 3 free range eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was perfectly crunchy and the breakfast potatoes were really good! The rye toast was toasted perfectly.... My sister had the banana pancakes..loved them, too! Fresh bananas...fluffy...really yummy! The place was really busy...and really clean and service was amazing....Even the bathroom was clean! (Good sign, right?) We thought it was really cool that the sidewalk tables were full of people....with their dogs! How cool is that? Even if you're not staying in the hotel, you must try Swingers! We will DEFINATELY be back next time we're in L.A.!

Worth a stop!

By mgershenson |

Much better food than you'd expect from the description. We ate here for lunch yesterday and then breakfast today. Both meals were very high quality and fairly priced for the quanity and freshness of the food. I'd eat here again tomorrow if I was close enough. All the wait staff was on the ball, and we were well taken care of. At the risk of sounding like a pig, the waitress was really cute, which never hurts.

Great atmosphere!

By theravenfamily |

Extensive menu and open until 4am. Great place to stop in for dessert. Excellent sandwiches too! The restaurant has lots of character.

Fun diner in the heart of LA

By ItchyFeet |

We stopped here for lunch mid afternoon after seeing the Taschen Gallery (to see the Rolling Stones Photo Show) a block up Beverly Blvd. The address is actual in LA but it is one of those spots in LA where the city of LA, Beverly Hills and Hollywood are all right there together depending on the block you happen to be on. It is a nice themed restaurant from 60's-70's and offers a lot of current options such as meals that are Gluten Free, Vegan, and Veggie etc. We all had basic sandwiches that were good, fresh and tasty. Our waitress was had a nice interesting outfit (very Hollywood). All the staff was very nice and friendly and attentive to our needs. We never waited long for anything we asked for. Would recommend if in the area - it was very busy on a Saturday afternoon and seems to have a large local regular crowd. Check it out when in the area.

Good Place To Eat

By sonic20 |

Decent price, decent food. Service is excellent; fast and attentive. I had three breakfasts and one lunch when it was very busy and food was served within reasonable time.

Super super casual place--cheap eats!

By maruska c |

Have had many lunches at the Swingers in Santa Monica so decided to try this one on Beverly Drive--not fancy by any means--but the food was very good and our server was terrific. Basic food--diner food-but well prepared. Atmosphere is typical Los Angeles with a few people around that you might not want to approach! We will go back when in town because hey, Los Angeles is a big place with lots of diversity (which we love!)

A great place for breakfast

By Tim A |

We stayed at the adjoining motel and ate breakfast here most mornings during our stay in LA. The food was excellent and well-priced and the staff friendly, helpful, efficient and interestingly-tattooed! My only criticism would be that the coffee was rather weak - something I have often found to be the case in US diners.

Cool Spot

By Wayne M |

Swingers gives old school vibe in a nice and relaxed atmosphere. I visited for breakfast and enjoyed their nice and large menu.

You Never Know Who You'll Meet

By David K |

This place is visited daily by stars. The food is great and what a neat little DinerYou are going to be SOOoo glad you ordered the Chili! Or, the All American Breakfast! Good Burgers too. Tip well as the wait staff works hard to keep you happy!

Even has Mickey shaped pancakes!

By Linda B |

Was great to have this restaurant connected to the hotel that we were staying in. Great food and good prices and open from 6:30AM till 4AM not positive it was 4 but only closes for a short time. To go orders were great too.

Nice place.

By Mikke410 |

We stay at Laurel Motor Hotel, located in the same building. Breakfast is good, staff is friendly and service is fast. Strong recommendation.

Dinner

By RMMNZL |

Had just checked in to the hotel next door after flying in from overseas. Thought I'd try Swingers for dinner and I'm stoked I did. Friendly staff, great steak & Shock Top beers was perfect after a flight.

Great place!

By JoannaRawska |

Really nice place with very helpfull stuff. They have gluten-free menu (pancakes!) and also serve vegan meals which was important for me.

DON'T MISS THIS - if visiting L.A. and...

By Max S |

If you want a unique, very L.A. experience with a rock n roll vibe- this is the place. It's really common to see celebrities here. I've seen a range from Katy Perry to Matt Sorum (Guns n Roses). It's a diner complete with counter seats and booths. Heavily tattooed, punk rock waitresses who are all very sweet serve you food but not attitude. Serving all kinds of diner food BUT with a California flair including healthy and vegetarian options. If your in the area, grab a shake or check out the daily specials.

Hip place

By Diner901 |

This place is decked out in a 1970s theme. The decor is very hip and cool. Our server was very courteous and attentive. I enjoyed my crispy patty melt and French fries. My companion had the Turkey meatloaf which he liked very much. I would love to go back.

Good solid food, round the clock

By Meridith M |

We ate at Swingers on 2 occasions while staying at the Beverly Laurel hotel (Swingers is located on the ground floor of the hotel building). It's a traditional diner-style restaurant with booths and counter service. The menu is quite large and diverse, there's something for everyone. As a vacationer, I like that they didn't overload you with huge portions, because then I always feel like I'm wasting food when I can't take it home for a later meal--the portions were not small, rather just right. Everything was cooked to order and quite tasty. The diner is also open virtually 24 hrs, so a great find to be able to get something late night in this neighborhood. After getting a quick dinner before heading to an event, we ended up getting breakfast there the next morning as well and didn't feel the need to go find something else in the neighborhood.

Better than just good enough basic diner food with vegetarian options

By rickpoet |

We had a good Saturday brunch at Swingers prior to heading to a nearby museum. It was crowded when we arrived and people were waiting, but we were seated right away. We ended up at the table closest to the open front door which we didn't love as it was a bit chilly outside and we were as close as possible to were the dishes were being bused to which led to quite a bit of very loud dish banging that we found a bit unpleasant to experience. The food and service were great though. All the staff who help us were super-friendly. I had the organic eggs breakfast made with egg whites, hash browns on the side and veggie bacon. It was all cooked as it should have been. The veggie bacon was Morningstar Farms that you can get in almost any market, but was glad they had it and many other vegetarian options including veggie sausage and a Beyond Burger. Vegetarians won't go hungry here. My wife had the quinoa and eggs which she demolished. Out kid had the Beyond Burger and he seemed satisfied. The coffee was good...that's always a relief at diner style restaurants where sometimes the coffee is an afterthought and tasteless. Not the case here. It was bold enough and did what it was supposed to do. Swingers is a good, souped-up alt-vibe diner. Fun to be in and plenty to eat for folks of any diet. If you're looking for basic diner food, give it a try.

This place is okay.

By blackeneddagger |

I went here with roommate and i felt like i was back in time. It was a good escape from all the fast food spots and places.

Breakfast

By Ryan |

Went for breakfast. Was an average meal. Tasted ok. Nothing to write home about. Service was good. Food came out in a timely manner.

Brunch in LA

By ProgressiveTraveller |

Swingers in West Hollywood is a tradition LA Diner with all the charm of yesteryear. Booth and bar seating makes for a relaxed place to eat and meet. We shared a bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado toasted sandwiches plus refills of coffee plus one of us had a latte. The serving wasn’t any different from Australia. We opted out of the hot chips and asked for the mayo on the side. Total bill inclusive was $25US The restaurant and restrooms were clean and staff were helpful and friendly.

Easy go to spot

By John K |

So when I first moved to LA this was my main spot. I was vegetarian back then and they have many options for that. now that I'm not its even better cause I have full range of the menu. but the chili cheese fries are my go to for sure. so good veg or not. a bonus is it being open late good spot to go chill and grab a bite with friends.

Best diner in Hollywood

By ClancieS74 |

Great food, great atmosphere, fantastic staff, good prices! Open till early hours of the morning. Highly recommended!

Convenient

By jccgtown |

The food here is good - not great but the prices are reasonable and the service is good. Always a crowd here but you can always sit at the counter. Babs was my waitress for breakfast - she was doing her Uma impression from Pulp Fiction. Cool of course

Good diner brekkie

By thorneta |

Was staying at the hotel above the restaurant so it was convenient - visited twice and the service was very efficient and courteous on both occasions. I dropped in for breakfast and had the California omelet (3 organic eggs stuffed with avocado, bacon, jack cheese and tomatoes), which was light and fluffy and full of flavour. I then dropped late the next night and tried the apple pie a la mode with a chocolate shake - the pie was fantastic and the shake was thick and bloody great. Top little spot.

Hearty breakfast

By Michael K |

Basic breakfast choices, sumptuous servings, prompt clean service. Average coffee. We attest to flavorful huevos rancheros and steak and eggs ! Friendly waitresses and chef.

Pulp Fiction retro style restaurant

By appeltjes |

Black Angus Burgers, Mexican, salads? All here. Great service, big selection of choices, decent portions and some choices of beer, like locally IPA brew (all around USD 6). Although Beverly Blvd is a busy road, the atmosphere in the area and in the restaurant is quite nice and relaxed. Renovated hotel next door and above.

Yummo

By Jennifer M |

Fantastic extensive menu and great service. Was always open when we wanted a meal or drink. Lots of organic and vegan options available so is suitable for all tastes.

A great place to eat

By justin h |

Just got back from swingers and what a lovely place to eat and the food was great can’t wait to go back for breakfast. Staff are great it’s nice and clean and great prices

Old Time Cafe

By gingergeor |

The food and staff here are great. Your coffee cup never gets empty and the value is exceptional. We dined here for breakfast and dinner several times while exploring what LA has to offer. Extremely convenient to the Beverly Laurel motel.

Authentic West coast diner

By chrilles-zibrandt |

Excellent food selection, normally good service and quick delivery. Wine and beer selection limited. And every second selection from the juke box is with CCR - so great.

My 18 year old son loves it!

By loveaspenLosAngeles |

Typical diner. My son loves the burrito. I ordered a hamburger that was very ordinary. My husband had the omelette and it was comparable to any Denny's, slightly overcooked.

Perfect place to go for breakfast.

By Bjørn C |

This is like in a movie. The place is a must to visit for breakfast. The people who work there and the interior is great. I visited the place whit on my 60 year birthday week. It was like I was back in USA in 1979. If you stay at Beverly laurel hotel it is just around the corner.

Great looking diner, good food, lovely staff!

By LeilaM |

Love the decor of the place, the huge menu, the freshness of the food, the good music, the lovely waitresses and waiters, free wifi, all great!

Good food, fun atmosphere, nice people!

By carlymariex |

This is a very unique diner that a local recommended. It has a huge variety of things on the menu, something for everyone. I loved the vegetarian and vegan options. Everything I tasted was great. The place is a bit small but there's also outdoor seating. They are open late, and serve dinner, lunch, and breakfast type meals. The people were all very friendly and cool, and always prepared to help us and checked on how we were doing quite often.

Great late night eats!

By Michael D |

Went here after doing Stash House. This place is a lot of fun. All the workers are friendly. The Chia Latte is fantastic. Was recommended by our server to try the Soyrizo Scramble, was a little hesitant about it but she was right. It was very tasty. So good I went back for breakfast before flying out. My friends loved their Steak and Eggs and the Brioche French Toast. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun vibe and a quick eat.

I will always love you.

By Jessi C |

I love everything about this place. I've been coming to Swingers since I was a little scene kid back in the early 2000's, oh the memories. Nothing beats their Hardcore shake and delicious veggie (and non veggie) fare. I love the atmosphere, rock n roll babies of all ages. See you when I visit LA!

Onion rings I dream about

By IngaGaminga |

Everything we ate over three meals was excellent! I recommend the onion rings & the avocado toast! Yum! Excellent service, speedy, clean.

Free Entertainment!

By Jim S |

Hopefully I have the right place, a little restaurant on a corner in or near Hollywood. The food was good and more affordable than most places in California, and the free entertainment was an eyeful, namely that of outstanding waitresses in very short dresses with elaborate tattoos, and some halloween touches to boot. Wow. Good for an old man's circulation!

High Quality Diner

By Stephen M |

The food uses superior ingredients, and is very well prepared. The wait staff is funky, fun, friendly - and efficient. Good prices. Great atmosphere. And to top it all off - the cupcakes are awesome. Get some to go!

Swing By For Classic Diner Food

By Steve L |

Looking for that Classic American Diner? Then you just found it. I have been here a few times now and it has been busy every time so it is popular with the locals too. First visit had a great coffee, second time just OK, but way better than most US coffee outlets. Food is typical American food, fried everything, but it is a great place to visit, see the sights which is the people and includes tattooed waitresses, chopper riding motorcycle riders pulling up out front, etc etc. Cool hangout place and a must see of American culture....now where is The Fonz and Ritchie Cunningham?

positive suprise

this could be a sad tale about how a girl had to go to Cedar Sinai from Fresno, Ca on a most limited budget. Instead, it is how many things went right with the trip. its expensive in West Hollywood and as trashy as Hollywood walk of fame has become i do not understand why it is so expensive but going on. I packed snacks for my sister and granddaughters, we found suitable hotel that was more than accommodating. We were going to buy food and eat in the room to save money but i was so tired i said " lets just try the coffee shop connected to the hotel" it was Swingers on Beverly Blvd. i was so happy we tried it. the food was so good. the service was the best it could be. they were short staffed but that wasn't their fault. We ended up eating there several times. they also have organic, vegan, vegetarian, meat lovers, just great choices. tasty as well. One negative that was true of many of the restaurants we tried; the coffee was horrible. it tasted like the packages you get in a hotel room. The coffee was $ 4.00 a cup. for 4 people that was $ 16 of the bill. it was better to drink water then hit Mc Donalds for $ 1.00 coffee . don't let that stop you. this place is a good find with clean food choices and a great breakfast.

Swingers' is fun and the food is good, too.

By Jeffrey49 |

On our recent stay in Los Angeles, we ate at Swingers at least twice. It is open most hours and serves fresh food with the added feature of being a cool place to eat and observe people. I would definitely recommend a meal or two at SWINGER'S.

Great old fashioned diner

By Helen17112013 |

A typical diner Very good food. Large portions and reasonably priced by US standards. A hotel is attached.

Cute Americana breakfast spot

By Joey Columbia |

Pretty much your basic diner spot in Hollywood. Nice staff and good food. Also the breakfast burrito is pretty bomb. I would recommend it for fellow travelers

Funky

By Wizsup |

This is a funky dinner with an interesting menu. Ate breakfasts there and they where filling. I will go back if I am in the area,

Great Food

By 871Pieter |

Food here was really tasty, fast service, and the server was very friendly. the menu gave me a few chuckles with some good photos of actors from my era. Staff behind the counter was fast and efficient. Food came hot and delicious. no complaints.

Best secret in Hollywood/Beverly Hills

By Aim7111 |

All organic food without the high fancy food price! Working at Beverly Center over night for 4 1/2 weeks, we ate at Swingers every day, and sometimes when we finished at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. The food was always great no matter what time we got there. The waitresses were always nice and the other workers were helpful, especially since we were usually very tired. The waitresses dress on the wild side in short skirts and fishnet stockings or the like, but they are quick and friendly. I highly recommend for anyone.

Great food, great service

By Jarrod-Casey |

This is a great place to dine. If you get a chance to pop into this diner, do yourself a favour and go in for a meal. Everything I ordered here was well above average. I felt that it was fairly priced and the service was second to none. If you are looking for the "Romy and Michelle" diner though, it's the one in Broadway, Santa Monica - not this one.

Authentic American Diner

By ToryMcG |

We were fresh off the plane and this was a great american diner experience for us, which was just what we wanted! A fun interior, and lovely waiter. We ordered brunch and had some delicious food.

Great late night dining!

By MooshLA |

Love love this place for the best after bar late night dining options in LA. It can get quite busy here so do keep that in mind however once seated either inside or out, you are sure to have high quality food and decent service. We're talking diner type food however its a bit more than the typical Denny's type. Love the vegetarian options and also makes for fun people watching.

A not so nice breakfast

By Beatrice F |

We went for an earliy breakfast to the restaurant next to our wonderful motel, The Beverly Laurel. We dicided on taking the moring special, The Early Bird (an American breakfast before 10 o´clock). I asked if I could have a glutenfree toast or pancake (which they had on the menu) instead of the regular pancake or frensh toast. I was told that the menu clearly stated no substituts. I don´t consider exchanging a regular pancake for a glutenfree pancake being a substitute. The manager had no intension of changing his position and this made me both angry and felt discriminated.

Don't eat here!

By dawn p |

We were staying at the hotel next door to diner and when we arrived it was closed i had chose the hotel because the diner was next door so i was disappointed, it remained close all week and opened the day before we left so we tried it on our last night and the following morning before we left the service and the food are not that good, do your self a favor go to the framers market spoiled for choice

Great Coffee and Great Service

By becsta25 |

I stayed at the attached Beverly Laurel Hotel so I ate here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. The vintage diner decor is adorable, the food is varied and delicious and the staff provided excellent service. Because I was on my own I sat at the counter both times, but there seemed to be plenty of tables and booths of varying sizes. I have to comment on the coffee though. I don't know if it's the beans they use or the way they make it, but it was exceptionally good coffee for America (being Aussie, I find that most American coffee is awful - sorry!). It tasted just like something I would get at one of my favourite cafes back home. That was a great surprise, and they do takeaway coffee too so I was able to grab some to start each day :D Definitely visit here if you get the chance!

Good food, some options better than others..

By StavrosGreenopoulos |

This place was located next to our hotel and was a handy option. The meditarean platter and the chicken quesidilla was great. open late and a real USA traditional-diner feel about about

Alex the host was amazing, great service, definitely would go back and recommend! We had an amazing night for our Christmas event.

Great food and service

By Popcorn6105 |

We ate here regularly during our visit...open at 6.30 am. Quick to produce the food (huge portions!) excellent quality. Extensive menu options which are sure to provide evryone with something fabulous. Surprisingly they do a great latte (if you are a Kiwi looking for home style coffee). Staff a really friendly and helpful.

Delicious breakfast

By Lee H |

We ate breakfast here while visiting our daughter. They have a huge menu -- the four of us all ordered something different and it was all delicious. Service is fast and prices are reasonable!

Lovely little place

By AndyJD34 |

As I was staying next door at the Laurel Motor Hotel for a couple of nights I ventured in to here for an evening meal one night and also breakfast on another day. It's a great little place where the staff are very friendly with superb service. The food is great and cooked to perfection so it's well worth a visit in my opinion.

Great spot

By jetset1974 |

We ate an early dinner here before heading out to a concert. Food was good and fresh and service great. Would definitely go back to check out the breakfast options.

It's a Diner

By paradiseseeker2001 |

Swingers is a small diner in Beverly Hills. The food is good, but its overpriced as with everything in Los Angeles. The hours are great for late nighter's, open 6:30AM-4:00. The staff is generaly friendly, service is quick and even faster if you call ahead. The atmosphere is casual and laid back. The inside is a retro 1960's vibe but nothing special except a couple of glass cases with old school collectibles that you can't buy. The menu has everything you'd expect from a diner that's opened all day and night. I look forward to the Double BLT, packed with bacon and all you expect on a BLT for $8.95. They offer a variety of sides, fries, chips, veggies, soup, salads, quinoa. Desserts include cake $5.95, pie $4.95, ice cream $3.50, cupcakes $3.95, gigantic cookies for about $4.95. Cha-Ching! There couldn't be more than about 15-18 small booths. There is counter service if you prefer to sit up close and personal and watch the cooks do their thing. Street/meter parking only. We typically call in our order and always manage to find a spot on the side street that we can pull up to and run in, grab the food and get out quick. I recommend it if your in Los Angeles and need a change from eating all the hoity-toity vegetarian, healthy food.

Favorite Diner!

By Taylor M |

I have been going to Swinger's for well over a decade and still love it! Their stuffed grilled cheese with vegan cheese is SOOOO good!

Great breakfast and lots of Gluten Free options

By TonyOxon |

Great, classic diner with gluten-free options. You might even spot the off monir celeb there, as we did.

A Fifties style diner on Beverly Blvd.

By Mazuza2 |

My wife and I ate lunch here one day during our visit to Los Angeles. It is attached to the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel. There were quite a few people here the afternoon we ate there. The menu lists many diner favorites – shakes, burgers, fries etc. My wife had a large Greek salad and I had the hot turkey sandwich. The turkey was a thick slice of real turkey. The waiter did a good job. There are tables outside and quite a few booths inside. It is designed to be a fifties style diner - Formica tables, lots of stainless steel and mirrors. It works pretty well. The food was pretty good and served quickly. Not a culinary delight, but quite good for a fast lunch.

Open late, and has dessert

By lowbuxlux |

I have never had a meal from here. The two times I have come have been a late night greedy trip to have a dessert because we were in the area. The first time was a milkshake and the the second time was for cake. Yeah, I know sounds really greedy. But that's what I came for. The cakes were not outstanding, just ok. If I come for a meal I will update and let you know how well the meal was. The customer service was average. I have only sat at the counter to enjoy my goodies so it's not that hard to get service when you're sitting in front of the server. This place is open late, so that's always a plus in my book since I work nights and even on my days off keep a night shifter schedule.

Swing in for Breakfast

By Suzanne |

Breakfast on Mother’s Day. Slide back in time as decor goes back 20 years past. We sat outside but inside decor is cool as they would say in the 60’s. Breakfast menu with traditional offering including build your own omelet if you wish. Organic eggs are delicious. Hot tea in metal brewer old style. Tried their French brioche toast as a third entree to share. Real strawberries sliced and fresh. Service attentive and parking nearby and easy. Quick stop with only a few minutes waiting to be seated.

Excellent dinner

By architecte007 |

Had the meatballs and spaghetti. The tomato sauce is to die for and milkshakes are killer. The blue corn nachos are amazing too. This place serves up a real treat.

great value, good food + friendly staff

By princess_lashes |

We ate here a couple of times whilst staying in the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel next door, on both occasions the food was great, tasty and really good value and the staff were friendly and super-efficient, the service was nice and quick without ever feeling rushed. Will definitely stop by next time we are in LA!

Delicious!

By Alexandra B |

What a gem Swingers is. The food and the service was just delightful. We were staying at the Beverly Laurel and this diner was what made our stay great!

Very Good

By ReefyReef |

Free parking lot just across the road, service is good, waitress can be a bit over bearing but guess they are looking to up their tips.

Better than it sounds.

By Rolf A |

Jukebox blaring retro sounds, but fun. Had a good bottomless cup of coffee, fries and a vegan cookie. Hit the retro spot.

Good Food but Pricey

By Neha |

Came here for breakfast as it was below the Beverly Laurel Hotel (The place we stayed) Just had breakfast once because it was a bit pricey. But all in all, it had an edgy ambience and killer avocado toast (The first time I had avocado and I don't regret it) The staff is good and quick on service.

Umm...Diner food?

By Indy_colts2009 |

Cute look...cute servers...Food...not so cute. Basic Basic...the name drew me in as a staple place to eat in LA. Can say the service was ok...she wasn't very attentive...and I paid $8 for a breakfast burrito and NO side item...cost too much if you ask me for eggs and a tortilla shell. BUT can say I've eaten at a landmark place in a dynamic city!

Downstairs of the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel

By Kim L |

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place since it was located downstairs from our hotel. Upon arrival to the place, we found that Swingers was is a diner. The place was very packed around noon. We are able to get a table with just us two, and we were seated in the back. The food choices were good. It had a range of selections from breakfasts, to sandwiches, salads, and even entrees. We decided to get breakfast, since it was barely noon. I got the steak and eggs, and my boyfriend got the All American breakfast plate. When it food arrived everything looked delicious and fresh. Although the waiter did not get my boyfriend's specific order correct, we both enjoyed our meals.

Reliable Choice

By snorkel lady |

We ate here a few times on our visit to LA as we were staying next door at the Beverly Laurel Hotel. They are open very late at night so it is convenient. Nice atmosphere, retro. Friendly staff. We tried the all day breakfast, soup and salad, pancakes, desserts, milk shakes - all were good. Thought is was a bit pricey for a diner. We would go there again if we were back in the area.

Fun, classic American diner

By Ashm84 |

A great diner with amazing vegan options. Really tasty and typically oversized American portions, good service. Recommended

Healthy, fast, excellent

By Lisa B |

We had a delicious breakfast here this morning with family, including an 18 month old baby. Two of us had a wonderful egg and quinoa dish, and another had scrambled eggs with extra crispy bacon. The baby had sauteed tofu and black beans. Everything was fresh and delicious. A neighborhood place with a huge menu and an emphasis on healthy food, Swingers has great food, fair prices, and friendly, accommodating servers.

Funky place with good reasonable food

By James B |

Solid diner food, nice atmosphere. Great pies. Has breakfast lunch and dinner. All in our party enjoyed it.

Average

By Evan K |

Service wasn't great and salad w/ Ahi Tuna was perfectly cooked, but waaaaaay too much pepper. Never came around entire time for a coffee refill. Relaxed, hip atmosphere. I am sure most of their business comes late night (open till 4am) or from hotel guests at Beverly Motor Lodge. Will be here a while, so I will try again. It is affordable.

Friendly staff

By BratFam |

We were staying at the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel which is next door. The staff at Swingers were very friendly. The diner was clean and fun. We only had one meal, the taco special, and it was very good.

Good diner food

By Tonya6425 |

Nice breakfast, I had the California omelet, everything was fresh. The service is good and they have tables outside, that was really nice.

Cool Americana diner delivers on food

By bluesycamore |

I'd driven past here so many times and it was always crowded. Finally went in one morning three weeks ago and have been there every week since taking someone new each time. Thats how much I like it; want to introduce others to it. Food is excellent, service is friendly and laid back in a relaxed Americana (with a bit of a bite decor) setting. Enjoy!!

Cool LA Diner

By Baconisgoodforme |

This place is what you expect from a typical LA diner. It's cool and hip, the waitresses are friendly. Food is very typical LA food. Serves great breakfast and is open late!! What more do you want from a diner??

Diner type restaurant

By Mickey H |

This is a hot spot with the locals especially late night til 4am. Choose your room away from the corner restaurant for a quieter experience. Food was good diner quality, burgers and fries. Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner

Endless Variety, Great Eats!

By Angelino-Jafa |

I went back to Los Angeles for the first time in several years. I was very happy to see that Swingers is still there. It's a diner. L.A. Style. Their menu is a vast amazing variety of fantastic food. I had the seared ahi sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries, and a lemonade, but my friends and associates had burgers, chili fries, shakes, amazing chicken soup, a Bundeburg Ginger Beer (yeah, sure that's Australian, but they've served it at Swingers since before Crocodile Dundee was - briefly - a movie star) and lots of good coffee. I know…I'm not really doing this justice. I can try to stick to the facts: They're open 22 hours a day. The staff are amazing. The place was built in the 70s and is still packed with vibe. But beyond the facts, this is the REAL Los Angeles that most tourists never see. So see it. Eat it. Drink it and soak up the vibe. And like Angelinos, fuel up there for your adventures, your parties, your bleary-eyed crawls through the crowded streets of Hollyweird…and remember to tip the waitress (or waiter). Tired of all the touristy "fake L.A." experiences. Just go to Swingers.

Nice diner with outdoor seating!

By Lydia H |

Stayed at the Beverly Laurel Hotel next door. Had dinner and lunch here and they were both delicious! Open pretty much all day and night for drinks and late night snacks. The turkey sandwich with fries was delicious, we sat outside for our lunch and it was really nice. Great location in LA near The Grove, CBS Studios and 15 mins from The Beverly Center!

Loved it!

By Jen0m |

I ate breakfast here twice while I stayed at the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel. It has a good varied menu and I was spoilt for choice. I had the fried egg sandwich the first day and the breakfast burrito the second day with a Bloody Mary. Coffee on tap and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I’m sorry that I wasn’t staying longer to try out their dinner menu.

Great Diner experience.

By Rikkie71 |

Diners are a dying dime a dozen across may parts of USA. Many serve greasy food from rank kitchens (part of the charm some may say). Swingers sets a refreshing standard. Keeping its retro charm beautifully interwoven with a new millennium edge. From greasy eggs to quinoa concoctions served by sassy rockabilly types, it's definitely worth a visit for a kool diner experience.

Excellent breakfast

By BEATRICE L |

Convenient when you are a customer of the hotel Beverly Laurel, next door. Classic deco diner. Efficient service but not smiling. Excellent breakfast : burrito and huevos rancheros very good. Good value for money

Delicious and a great diner experience!!

By teresa l |

I loved this nostalgic diner! Felt like old Hollywood! It even had a chair named after Drew Carey. To start off with the server had a cute outfit in and she was very helpful in me picking my breakfast choice. The coffe was delicious. The Huevos Rancheros was amazing!! And the Bloody Mary was delicious. A must try, especially for healthy choices!!

Fun Place.

By TomAB9 |

Seems they are always open. Breakfast was great with very friendly and eclectic staff! Prices and food quality were great.

NOT THE BEST BUT OK

By THENAPOLI |

There is plenty of place around and that is a ok average American place for breakfast Good for foreign morning people much better around !

Huge menu, great staff

By JackieF1nut |

We stayed at the Laurel Beverly hotel and ate at Swingers every morning and evening. Big menu, lots of choice (I'm a veggie), great staff. Can't fault it

Looks like a diner, but is California food all the way

By birgittenyc1 |

Don't get fooled by the looks of this diner. They have cold-pressed juices, avocado toast, steel cut oatmeal with fresh fruit and better than average tea. Great breakfast.

Good food

By Ibizan_Yankee |

Their food is great and it is a traditional diner setting. It is good for breakfast and lunch, I have never tried it at late night, but I am sure it would be just as nice.

Food was greasy and if you like that it is a good value

By cherylellen |

We ate the early bird breakfast the first day and then went back the next day to become sick to our stomach. It is a late night hangout

Exceptional service

By Linda L |

Stopped here between theater performances of a friend. Food was excellent, but service was exceptional. Shortly after sitting down we realized that the actor in our group wasn't going to have time to actually enjoy their meal with us and still make their call time. We asked that their food be expedited to go. Our waitress was on it! Food to go came out quickly and our friend made their call time. The rest of enjoyed our meal at the restaurant, our waitress made sure our bill arrived with our meal so that we would be able to leave and make the show on time. Will definitely go back next time we find ourselves in the area. The stuffed grilled cheese was excellent by the way!

70's vibe

By Jan R |

An interesting place with a large dessert menu and all day breakfast. Vegan friendly. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Always good for late night

By J D |

Not too many places that are open late are also vegetarian friendly. Swingers is both. Though you may often have to wait for a table after midnight, people watching is fun and it's worth the wait.

Great diner good reasonable prices

By Dawn R |

Stayed at great hotel Beverly Laurel next door. Swingers was very good. Though I usually like to venture out during our 5 days in town we ended up there 3 times! Didn't see him bc it was a holiday weekend but hear Drew Carey dines there daily after taping! Service could be a bit slow but food was good. Two items we had: farfelle egg scramble....very generous serving of pasta w scrambled eggs lots of sausage and bacon tossed in; nice seared ahi tuna on very fresh salad mixed greens- was skeptical on this at a diner but was pleased!

Classic diner, but can we have the menus back, please

By Tom_Cobbley |

I have reviewed this place before and although it's much the same as ever, a couple of niggly things have changed. For a start, it doesn't open til 8am, which for a recently-arrived, jet lagged Brit isn't great. And then there's order-via-smartphone, which I thought had been dropped, post lockdown. Apart from that, it's still Swingers and there's still a great deal to love about it.

Wish we had one at home

By Jennifer F |

Swingers is next to my hotel and I'm so happy it is. Breakfast and dinners have been awesome! Even tried a few vegan meals yum. Oh yah, cupcakes are to die for.

Good for a quick bite

By David P |

Easy for us because it is part of the Beverly Laurel Motel where we stayed. Had good food overall. Friendly service. Fun atomsphere.

Second visit, still pretty good.

By Mazuza2 |

We stopped at swingers for a Sunday Brunch. Four of us each ordered something different. The service was great. the food was delivered quickly even though Swingers was busy. The vegetarian i n our party, had Quinoa and eggs, I had pancakes, My wife had a Greek salad with chicken and my son had some soup, turkey bacon and sautéed spinach. Everything was excellent, delivered to the table, hot and fresh. Swingers was a great place for a brunch.

Cute little restaurant

By Eileen K |

We ate breakfast in this diner-like restaurant. The decor is retro which is fun. The food was good and the staff was great. It is open about 22 hours a day.

Good - Better - SWINGERS

By MarenogKim |

I never ever had better food somewhere else. If you go to Los Angeles you just have to go there. In particular for me as a vegetarian it was more than a pleasure. You can really taste the good quality of the food. For tea I recommend chai latte and one of the great, huge cupcakes they offer. I would fly to LA just to eat there again. Good bye swingers, hope to see you sooooon again.

Great diner, awesome staff, late opening hours

By S. Moeller |

It's all here. The food, location and ambience. Easy to park. And coming home late at night from being around the city, Swingers is still open and serving.

Fun place!

By denisekv |

This retro diner has a lot of atmosphere, a large menu, good prices and excellent service. I highly recommend it!

Great Diner

By Bufty100 |

Stayed next door and ate breakfast there a number of times. Also a few dinners when we'd been out late. Food always good and staff very helpful. Very interesting tattoo

Delicious food on 2 visits

By richyintipp |

stayed in the Beverly lodge next door and ate here twice. First on my arrival in LA, fish tacos were on special, delicious. In California for 3 weeks and still one of the best meals I had. Picky family all happy with their meals. 2 days later stopped in for breakfast no drop in quality. Highly recommend.

Great classic L.A. diner

By PDX_Jackg |

Swingers is located below the Beverly Laurel Hotel and fits right in with the hotels retro look. We have had great wait staff and burgers, salads here, plus the best onion rings I ever had. They were not greasy, but thick and held together when you bit into them. It is a great place to people watch, especially late into the evening. They are open 24hrs. I had an early flight out of LAX and noticed that all the window seats were full at 3:45 in the morning! Being from Portland, Or,, I do wish they had a larger beer select. But, that is a minor item.

Very good breakfastplace

By Andreas B |

This is a great place for breakfast. Swingers offers up a big selection of dishes that includes options for vegetarians and vegans. Had a Protein Breakfast which was tasty and very filling. Service was ok but a bit unattentive.

Great eatery located in conjunction with the Beverley Laurel Motor Hotel

By David B |

Great dining experience! Classy place with great service and excellent food. The ambiance is retro Hollywood.

Cool retro diner

By CasandraTP |

We were staying at the hotel above so this was our first food stop for LA. We actually came for dinner our first night and breakfast the next morning. The atmosphere is really cool and had a retro diner feel. The staff were really friendly and helpful and helped with advice on what to do in LA. Our breakfast was fabulous, I really enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich but found the jerk chicken a little disappointing. The Brownie Sundae was yummy for dessert as well. And you never know what Hollywood Star you may find in there as well.

Great veg, and fun atmosphere

By Rebecca J |

Had a great time with family and friends at this place, amazing portions and good price, would certainly go back. It's much more upscale than just a "diner," not because of the atmosphere, but because the food is good even for health conscious people

Food Was Good, Service Was Lacking

By LLouise |

The menu at Swingers has a wide variety of items for anyone who is hungry late at night. It is very busy, and noisy, but that makes it fun. However our waitress left something to be desired. When she asked us if we were ready to order we said we needed a couple of minutes. We had to ask for her to come back after more than 10 minutes. When she arrived she said, "Are you finally ready to order?" Seriously, how rude! Perhaps she was having a bad night, as it was very busy, but I could do without the sarcasm with the good food that is served.

Fun during the day but a must late-night spot

By spunaround |

I've been to Swingers many times over the last few years and it has become a regular visit now. There are many positives including the clientele, the veg friendly menu and the character of the restaurant. Favorites are the tasty pancakes and the coffee. We love coming here later in the evening because the place is full of loner artists, couples and groups who are sobering up after a night of drinking. Many celeb, pseudo-celeb sightings if that's your thing. Although it gets busy it never gets crazy and the staff is almost always friendly.

The cupcakes are to die for!

By Katiegrrl |

My husband and I stayed at the Beverly Laurel over Thanksgiving and the best meals I had were at Swingers. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there and all of our meals were excellent. BUT the cupcakes are amazing! I loved the vanilla with strawberry frosting. Be careful they're addicting!

Great Vegan Breakfast Options

By kaw30 |

We stayed at the Beverley Laurel Motor Hotel above this restaurant on our trip to LA. They are open early, so you can always get breakfast before heading out for the day. We loved the vegan pancakes (complete with maple syrup and vegan butter), and the tofu chilaquiles. Everything vegan on the menu is marked, and the servers are really nice.

1950's style diner - fun, interesting place

By WadeAtlanta |

Good food at reasonable prices. Open until 4am when we were there. Great staff and fun crowd. We were there for breakfast and everything we had was good.

Very Cool LA Diner -Affordable - Fun - Friendly

By Kristy5566 |

We stayed at the adjacent Beverly Laurel Motor In and this place was honestly a blessing. We had breakfast there every morning and every meal was amazing. The staff were always on their game while also being very friendly and welcomed us back many times. Sitting outside is nice if you are a large party but the cute booths at the front are always fun. Ordered the Quinoa with Poached Eggs A++++ and you can never go wrong with their waffles in the early hours of the morning or evening :) Must go to place.
