This restaurant and hotel popped on my radar recently for a business trip. Located about a mile north of the Petersen Auto Museum this unsuspecting refurbished motel has a lot to offer. It takes away the stereotypical filet minion and fish dish from the lobby restaurant and replaces it with farm to table options that are enticing and delicious. My meal started with a bourbon drink from the bar and hushpuppies with a maple syrup dipping sauce (a popular selection). My meal was the Tart burger cooked medium with a side of the corn muffins. They may have been all the restaurant signature dishes this trip, but from my experience that's nothing to complain about. The quality of the meal will make this my traveling destination next time I'm in LA. The atmosphere was pretty laid back. The tables were full of people, but it wasn't too crowded or loud. Just right for a younger crowd looking for a solid dinner and a second wave of a social scene shortly after.

Good late night snacking foods and amazing giant punchbowl of liquor during the day for groups of 4+ people. Beer selection was excellent with harder to find large format beers.

Tart is the in-house restaurant of the hipster Farmers Daughter hotel, so you can expect a lively happy hour scene most days. It's a lovely place to have a drink, with cozy outdoor seating in a private patio as well as inside. The menu leans heavily to comfort food, and options can be limited, especially at breakfast, when it's better to hop across the street to one of the many counters at the Farmers Market. Service can be slow to arrive, but friendly and attentive when it does.

Really nice cafe and a friendly greeting when the four of us arrived. Ordered promptly and the coffees came out super quick. Good coffees too! All downhill from here. The waiter forgot the water. The food was so slow in coming out, over 35 minutes. Two breakfast burritos (my wife and I shared as we were not too hungry) and one grilled cheese sandwich with soup should have come out in a flash. We did get apologies when we left - maybe we struck a bad day. The burrito's lacked meat (I don't think this is a vegetarian restaurant?) and were bland in taste. The grilled cheese sandwich and soup was good. So, 4 coffees, 2 burrito's and a grilled sandwich with soup cost $59.95 (excluding tip). We would come back for the coffee, but only the coffee.

Great atmosphere, very relaxed. The staff were very friendly. Our food was brought out quickly and it was very nice. I would definitely eat here again.

We visited Tart 3 times on 10/14 & 15 for drinks, dessert, breakfast and lunch. We had incredible service and great food and drinks. Our server, Megan was super sweet and helpful all 3 times! We really enjoyed our own experience. The outdoor dining and lounging space was beautiful and comfortable for us. BUT, I believe I saw the incident posted by SoCalSydney. I saw 2 employees, a male and female, refuse to seat the couple inside because their "policy is no dogs inside." It did not make a difference when they were told it was a service dog. Then, I saw the male suggest the woman get out of her electric scooter and walk up the stairs to eat on the raised outdoor dining space. Truly, they should have seated them inside, or at a minimum simply moved a table down onto the main courtyard where they also serve food and drinks. Without viewing that incident, this would have been a 5 star review. I'm sad that it isn't!

We were staying at the Farmers Daughter hotel and visited Tart for dinner, happy hour cocktails, two breakfasts and one dessert. The only time something wasn't uneven or needed tweaking/rethinking was the happy hour cocktail. The thighs in the chicken-and-dumplings dish were expertly cooked. The "dumplings" were odd gnocchi and the vegetables were al dente. Nothing was married or worked together. The "we're known for that" banana-chocolate nutella bread pudding dessert was AWFUL. And trust me, I've got a sweet tooth. The pudding square was cold and strangely tasted burnt (too high of a cacao content?). The marshmallow ice cream scoop tasted like vanilla and it was so small I at first thought it was a teaspoon dollop of whipped cream. The only thing that I recognized was the Nutella. And that was just smeared to the bottom of the bottom at room temp. MAJOR FAIL. I'm incredulous that any kitchen could be known for this kind of dish. The breakfast waffle sandwich was fun and tasted delicious. The home fries/potato squares were uncooked though. There are lots of dining choices in this neighborhood and own our last day there we avoided TART and ate elsewhere.

I have driven by this restaurant connected to the Farmer's Daughter Hotel over 100 times as my mother lives nearby but had never gone in. Tired of the regular lunch spots we decided to check it out and were so glad we did. It has indoor and patio seating as well as a full bar. The menu has some staples that are on both lunch and dinner, but other items are only served am or pm. The TA sample menu does not convey that. Our lunch encounter was divine - LOVED the chicken and waffles. The chicken is a fired chicken piece without bones, making it a little easier to eat. The waffle is a delicious full sized Belgian waffle. I am going to dream of that! They also have a couple twists on egg Benedict. We got the BTA - bacon, tomato, and avocado. It rocked. We liked it so much we went back for dinner and both got the chicken and dumplings. It was perfect. At night on the patio they have a fireplace going too that adds to the cute comfy ambiance. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes. The service was great too - friendly and attentive.

We had breakfast and our order got swapped with someone else’s. Food was average nothing special. It took long to be served. Food was expensive for what we got.

We stayed at the Farmer's Daughter for a couple of nights a year ago and returned for dinner during our holiday this year. We just love this place, the atmosphere is great (we've always chosen to sit outside on the long cushioned bench), the food is good and wholesome (my girlfriend loves the cornbread and drinks served In Mason jars) and the service is efficient and unobtrusive. When we're next in LA we'll be back.

This place is one of my FAV spots for Brunch (yes, it's capitalized because it's a weekly event for me and mine). Tart's dishes are freshly prepared (the chicken and waffles are always my go-to) -- but it's their punch bowls that take center stage with us. And if you're with a smaller group, they also do bottomless mimosas. The crowd is trendy and most are donning their typical corporate millennial wear. So, be prepared!

Stayed at the hotel attached and decided to come here for dinner before going out. The service was decent and friendly. The food was pretty good, but what made the place was the atmosphere. It was very homey and relaxed. Also they have amazing cocktail punch bowls that definitely need to be shared with more than 4 people. We had a group of 3 and the punch bowl was a lot...they definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol. Overall it was a fun and relaxed environment, but I do wish their menu was a tad bigger with more options.

We stayed at the Farmers Daughter Hotel (which was great) close to Tart and had two dinners and a breakfast there. The first dinner was absolutely fine, food was very good and service was great. Breakfast was good too. But the last time we went there to have dinner the service was very poor. After having our dinner our server never came back. We had to grab another server for additional drinks and we had to grab yet another one to get the check. It was awful and felt very unwelcoming. Having had such a nice dinner experience there a few nights earlier it was truly disappointing

Eclectic menu, good beer, beautiful outdoor dining. If they have "fried bread" as a special app, be sure to request powdered sugar to sprinkle on top!!! : )

Had lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Try the fried brussel sprouts, they are fantastic! They also have a good selection of board games to keep you entertained. Nice outdoor patio.

The food was absolutely amazing. I switched the waffles out for French toast. We also had the $25 mimosa kit which was worth it for just us two. The food was filling and the staff were so nice. There’s a patio outside. They give us voucher for parking.

Good food - hit or miss service. Stayed at hotel - burger was good once all the ingredients were on it that we're on the menu. Mac and cheese was very good. Steak was excellent.

This cute restaurant has great service and they have novel choices for all the family. I especially enjoyed the burgers, all fresh and quality ingredients make a difference. You may eat outdoors and enjoy the weather, I also recommend their selection of drinks.

Beautiful food and all service was with a smile. The Mac and Cheese was the best I'd had in the USA. Happy hour will make anyone happy.

We were staying at the attached hotel, The Farmers Daughter, for work so we stopped by here twice. Both times were very good. Drinks were very tasty and they have a decent scotch menu. We had a bunch of stuff to share including the chicken waffles, which is honestly the only thing I remember! This is a must eat for sure!

I ate brunch as well as dinner/apps here while staying at the Farmer's Daughter. The brunch - chicken and waffles - was delicious but not greasy/filling and came with a refreshing strawberry side salad. The drinks are the best part of each meal - I had a mojito and moscow mule, and both were delicious. While sitting at the bar, you could see the care each bartender put into the drinks they made - in some cases straw-tasting as they went to ensure the flavor was right. They were very friendly and engaging as well. Overall, great experience at TART.

So many great things to say about this place. The setting is AWESOME ! The decor is perfect &males you feel at home.As for the food.....so so so good!i had the chicken and waffles. The waffle had that homemade taste & the chicken was PERFECT!

Great outside area with heaters . perfect for a spring evening. Food good and choice varied. Service excellent.

This restaurant is conveniently located in The Farmers Daughter Hotel across the street from the Farmers Market. Their menu is the best I have seen in quite a while. We literally had a hard time deciding what to eat so we opted for selections in all categories-Snacks, Salads, Mains and Dessert. Everything was scrumptious and the service was friendly and extremely efficient. There are many choices in the Farmer's Market area but this is well worth a visit. They have valet parking on site and a lovely outdoor seating area. Do yourself a favor and try it!

Went with a few friends for a late brunch. Food was spot on and service was good. Try the LA Fry up, it will keep you going all day.

We stopped in for a drink and went back twice for food. The bartender, Chris?, was very accommodating for our party member wanting a non alcoholic drink not on the menu. Pork rinds were excellent, as was the cheesy grits and mac and cheese. We really enjoyed eating outside in a very relaxed atmosphere. Good time, good eats, great drinks.

While staying at Farmer's Daughter Hotel, we had breakfast and an evening meal here. The company must go out of their way to source excellent staff, as every person we came into contact with went that extra mile. Consistently. The food was wholesome and tasty. We'd love to visit more often but the UK is a heck of a way away.

Love the ambiance here and the service was great. Great food and drinks especially with friends. We enjoyed our food and the vibe. Will return!

It was quiet when we came to TART, across the road from the grove and the farmers market. We were the only people seated inside but it was quite late on a Sunday night, there were other people seated outside. The wait staff were quite friendly and service was ok but could have been more attentive at times. We weren't offered table water or more wine/beer once we had finished our first glass. The food was really great - we had a few things; the lamb shanks, the grilled fish with eggplant (pictured), the broccolini, the butter beans and the fries - no complaints about the food it was all delicious!

Nice brunch and friendly staff. The food was good and the restaurant is a nice play to start the day.

The food at Tart is pretty consistent. Unfortunately, the service is not. Our server never returned to our table. We had to grab someone else to get additional drinks, we had to ask several times for our check, had to grab someone else to take it. There was a large group outside and everyone working in the restaurant was focused on them. It was a really disappointing evening....having been there before and having a much better experience, I will have to think about whether or not it is worth going back.

The tasty food is a little more expensive but it is located across from the Grove and Farmers Market and in a hotel. The decor is homey, the customers were hip, the drinks are served in jam jars.

Stayed at the Farmer's Daughter and had the pleasure of dining at TART for brunch. The servers are friendly and helpful. The environment is light-hearted and fun. I particularly enjoyed the down home menu options. The grits were very nice and not the most common thing to find in LA. Food was good and the prices are fair for the area. Would return again.

We liked the generous food portions such as omelets, toast, fried potatoes & having my own pot of coffee in a "French Press"! We ate outside near the pool area on deck. There was nothing that we disliked.

The Tart is the place where you want to spend your free time. Brunch / lunch/ dinner. A simple menu with simple good food. Try it and relax.

I stayed at The Farmer's Daughter Hotel, so I ate at The Tart and had drinks there. The avocado toast was amazing and the wine was very good and I'm very picky about both. Super nice ambiance and friendly staff.

So, after a confusing decision on what to eat in The Grove, my local friend recommended me to try this restaurant which is he said one of the best and awesome place to go. The decor is nice and atmosphere is good. The food is also very nice! one of the nicest from my whole trip in LA! Price wise is medium priced.

We had breakfast there. The food tasted great. But I think the sausages must have been too greasy – I had the runs afterwards – not food poisoning.

TART served great food in the backyard of Farmers Daughter hotel. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and we were dining outside. The menu and the food was good. I choose the blue cheese hamburger and strawberry salad for my wife. The food was very good and the drinks as well. Perfect for couples or friends on the evening.

I bought breakfast coupons when I booked the hotel. It is an easy way to start the day. This restaurant is part of this fun and funky hotel. They offer meal service throughout the day.

This was the best surprise of my trip! I was staying at the Farmers Daughter, and am often a little wary of the restaurants that are attached to some hotels, but this was such a lovely place. I had breakfast / brunch and dinner here several times during my stay, and bot service and food was amazing! American breakfast is very yummy, and the beef and lamb were delicious, also, the burger is a must have, weirdly one of the best burgers I had on my trip! OH, and try the mac and cheese! Basically, just eat here.

Ate here one night while staying in Farmer's Daughter hotel. I had cheese plate and hamburger. Cheese plate was ok, but I like more hard cheeses, so it's maybe more of what you prefer. Hamburger was good and well made. Athmosphere was very nice with a live fires and nice lights, takes your mind away from busy city.

Nice food, good quality ingredients and great flavours. They have good REAL coffe - not starbuc*s sugar loaded makka flappa B.S.

I work near Tart and often go there for business lunches. It's quiet, the menu is creative, the food is good, and the service both police and fast at lunchtime. There is an inside dining room and an outdoor deck with umbrellas as well as tables in the sun. Great place.

Love this restaurant - was staying at the hotel so was convenient but plenty of other eateries nearby but this had good food, reasonable prices and great staff

The wait staff were all friendly. We sat outside by the fireplace. The atmosphere is so beautiful and relaxing.

The helpful staff make this place a must stop. The food is affordable and well executed. Drinks are great and has a good variety. A must stop.

Great little restaurant within the Hotel. Had a great Cobb salad and my son loved his chicken and waffles. Lots of outdoor seating, great atmosphere.

This is a pretty, quiet sanctuary from the madness of the Grove and the LA restaurant scene. It's the perfect spot to have a drink and snack before going on to a concert or bigger dinner.

Aside from the hostess acting very "Hollywood" and telling my party we had to wait over an hour for a new table because my 4 year old couldn't sit at the high tables inside the restaurant (she eventually accommodated us outside), the food was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and kept our mimosa glassed filled. The basket of biscuits were splendid. My BTA eggs benedict was also fantastic. My daughters pancakes were large and fluffy. And of course, we took a dive in the pool for 50% off our meal. Why not!

I ate here several times as I stayed at the adjoining hotel. This restaurant does NOT serve typical hotel fare. Everything I had was delicious - sweet potato fries, an outstanding burger and shrimp and grits. As a plus they have yummy desserts as well as an extensive beer and wine list. I also had breakfast here one morning and it was also really good. The staff was also unfailingly helpful, friendly and polite!

We loved the menu and the variety of dishes that were on offer - we selected a number of plates to share. We sat outside, we loved their music and we loved the overall ambience of this great space.

Have I got your attention? Good, lean in...It's not what you might think. Lots of cool looking vintage signage, margheritas by the punch bowl, rough hewn wood siding and a shaded courtyard. Think you have dined here before? Nope, wait til you see the menu. Gourmet twists on comfort classics and monsterous portions. The flavors were amazing and a top notch burger.

If you get the chance...don't get lost in the crowd at the LA Farmers Market.....go directly across the street (Fairfax) and have a meal at TART! Eclectic...unique.....Delicious! We stayed at the hotel on the same property ...The Farmers Daughter....and had two meals there.....very good...reasonably priced for the area...and great service. You can also order a "Picnic in Bed" selection for your room. Bottomless drink selections....or huge drinks served in giant containers....try TART....you will enjoy their creativity...cooking and service......and TARA was wonderful...very friendly...helpful and knowledgeable.

The food is creative and delicious. The place is charming. Loved the table set up, the lights and the seatings around the fire. Service is good. It's a popular place.

Quaint convenient restaurant for hotel guests. No wait and excellent service. Limited menu but tasty. Not for young kids but my tween like it. Questionable wallpaper content but luckily my daughter did not go to the bathroom. We like the decor otherwise.

Went here for lunch with a friend and I was blown away by the offers of bottomless mimosas and huge punch bowls of all types! I have the meatloaf sandwich and it was amazing and healthy! Get it with the salads instead of the fries for the more healthy choice. Hung in the outdoor patio and heard hip hop tunes. consistently amazing!

The food was delicious (especially the Chorizo) and the waitstaff were great. I have to recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

I tried the Lake White Fish with creamed mushrooms in horseradish butter and BOOM! It was unexpectedly so good - fresh trout, fried crisp with flesh so soft and flaky. It was a burst of flavors with the creamed mushrooms and the fried greens. Great food and would like to try the whole menu👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We enjoyed Tart every morning for an extended breakfast whilst staying for two nights at the Farmer’s Daughter Hotel on the same premises. The small place has a nice touch to it with a nice vibe. Service was very friendly and attentive. Our favorites were the fresh fruits with yoghurt, and the basket o' biscuits which seemed to come fresh from the oven. American breakfast and scrambled eggs were also better than average.

I'm not a foodie, and was a bit worried when I looked at the menu that there wouldn't be anything I would like, but there was! The skirt steak was wonderful and the horseradish cream with the potatoes was fantastic! Excellent service too!

Had such a nice time here had the chicken and waffles and they were really good!! I love the artsy decor and sitting outside is a nice vibe ! I would recommend

Wonderful breakfast with great variety. Dinner was also good and they were fine with just a drop in drink. Service was excellent and I would highly recommend them.

Really cute place next to Farmer's Daughter (hotel). The coffee here is excellent - they serve coffee in a french press and the taste is so much better than regular brewed coffee at most restaurants. We had a party of 12 and was easily accommodated either inside or outdoors. The breakfast burrito was delicious as was the shrimp and grits. We'll be coming back again soon. The only problem was minimal parking on Fairfax, so others had to find street parking around the corner.

Attached to hotel. Friendly staff and good service. Great Breakfasts. Wine was pricey. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Love the vibe of this little place. The outdoor patio with the fireplace and all the hanging succulents, the warm lighting. Wonderful evening spent with a friend. Staff were on top of their game and very attentive and friendly. Very laid back, relaxed kind of feel. The cocktails were delicious, the food FANTASTIC !

We loved the peaceful outdoor atmosphere. Fruit tray and burrito were well worth it. The other foods we saw being served looked very inviting but we were full already. Enjoy

After I had the hash and eggs for breakfast, I wished I had dined there the night before. The quality of the food, the presentation and the atmosphere cannot be beat.

Awesome food and cocktails, staff very friendly and helpful - definatley recommend this place. Also had breakfast there as we stayed in hotel next door - this was also very good and filled us up for a days shopping at The Grove opposite :-)

Spent 3 nights at the Farmers Daughter (that's another review) where Tart is located. Tart has good food and a nice clean environment. Not cheap but not outrageous either. So if your in the area of 3rd and fairfax check them out..!

The food was nice itself, but the service was the worst I've ever experienced. Wrong dishes brought, over charged on the bill, staff unhappy to ask the chef if a certain dish was still available on the menu, the waitstaff tried to take away unfinished dishes...it's a long list of mistakes. They were clearly not interested in trying to resolve a bad situation and perceptibly rude. Totally inept staff turned a nice ambiance and good food into a wholly terrible experience. Mistakes I can accept. Rude incompetence I cannot. We'll never go back.

Nice, friendly staff and great patio. Fun drink menu, did not eat anything but breakfast looked great.

Looked up this place and it looked like a nice spot for Sunday brunch. Sadly the reality was somewhat different. Had a pleasant enough server but did forget part of the order which took a long time coming. Then the food was stone cold. We had to send it back as it was inedible (it was only poached eggs on toast so not to hard to get right!). By the time the replace the arrived it was over an hour til we actually ate. I noticed we were not the only ones waiting. It was not busy (most of the outside was occupied but no one inside). Kitchen appeared not to be coping. There was no real attemp at service recovery from a bad experience - after complaining that the food we were told that the manager would not make any gesture to reducing or comping the meal or at least part of it. We were then told that the manager (or no-one from management) were actually there. But another member of staff did suggest that the “coward in the corner” was in fact the manager. Clearly there is a problem with the running of this restaurant and staff seem to be frustrated and stressed delivering a service which is not well run. Not their fault of course. Staff did their best. However in short this is a place to avoid. There are plenty of good brunch alternatives. Go to one of them!

I am from VA so the south in LA was a shock, However the quality of the ingredients and the staff made this a great addition to my LA trip. The Salmon, deviled eggs and many other dishes hit the spot!

I love treating myself to Breakfast so I am always seeking new places to check out a great eat.. Not sure if I should start with the Pros or Cons.. Pros-was lucky to get a parking spot right out front on the street- No wait- choice of inside or a really cool looking patio area Cons: Coffee is overpriced.. $3.00 a cup.. I think there should just be a flat price for a coffee pot and 2 mugs.. but really $3.00 .. I should have brought my coffee with me.. The wording on the menu- a turkey burger stated add fries for $ 1.50 - well we were charged for a separate entree of fries.. like $7.00 extra because they were sweet potato.. this was not made clear during the ordering process.. we even asked.. add fries for a $1.50 ?? ok sure- can we have sweet potato.. sure.. Money is tight -I think servers regardless of WHERE the restaurant is need to be clear on items that will cost the customer MOrE MONEY.. When we asked about it after receiving the bill.. no one even offered to remove any charges.. that is not cool.. because I probably won't be back based on that lack of meeting me halfway at all.. Coffee here is average- The veggie scramble I had was tasty.. but after all the extra charges for coffee and huge order of fries.. I left feeling ripped off.. $45 for 2 for breakfast w/out any view.. hmm... I could have really enjoyed that $45 somewhere else in LA or Santa Monica..

We ate dinner at the restaurant while staying at the hotel. I had the salmon which was just really salty and didn't have fennel puree or salad or anything promised in the menu on the plate. Also the mushrooms that the waiter recommended for sidedish were just salty. The place seemed nice, but if you want good food, this is not the place.

You would never know this was a "hotel restaurant". The decor is cozy and unique, the food is fabulous, the waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!!

Last night we dined at Tart restaurant to try it out. Wow! What a great place! The meals are very southern style American. My partner had shrimp and grits (very good) and I had the pork chop (amazing). They seem want you to share plates, but our dishes we chose were too good to share! (Ha). Great cocktails too! And dessert has a featured pie.

Pricy breakfast but very good .... Happy hour is reasonable ...relaxed atmosphere ... Entertainment on thurs

Loved the staff at Tart, so friendly, we really had a great time everytime we went there. Food was wonderful and get the

A cute little bar/restaurant. I had a great steak and margarita. The atmosphere was quiet and the patio was really nice. Be sure to check out the bathrooms while you're there.

Breakfast is available weekdays beginning at 7 am. It's good quality eats. Also, I've enjoyed a cocktail here as well. While there are many places to eat within walking distance, it's nice to have Tart as an option, since I am staying at the Farmer's Daughter hotel on business. Sometimes after work, you just want easy and this fits the bill!

TART had a very interesting menu and great food. We had a wonderful dinner and a great breakfast while staying at the Farmer's Daughter Hotel. Also, the best coffee. It was our introduction to French Press Coffee. We ate indoors and it was a relaxed environment-non rushed. The staff were very accommodating and gave us excellent service. We will return to TART on our next visit to Los Angeles

When my daughter and I were staying at the Farmer's Daughter Hotel, we stopped in to Tart for breakfast. The atmosphere blended well with the attached Farmers Daughter Hotel, quaint, spacious and relaxed. The wait staff was friendly and the food was delicious. The brunch menu had a good variety of choices. I had the eggs with corned beef hash which was stuffed with huge strips of corned beef, and my daughter had the waffle. Unlike some other LA restaurants, we were able to enjoy our meals with out the feeling of being rushed to finish.

As can be learned by a study of the psychology of monogramming, the impulse to put a name on everything may indicate an underdeveloped identity. Tart--tellingly, a dish more than a restaurant--seems to present itself as a farm-to-table sort of establishment directly across the street from the colorful Los Angeles Farmers' Market, an installation which, being about as urban and as little rural as is possible, sets a bit of a precedent when it comes to over-labeling. Although Tart makes no overt claim to participate in the farm-to-table fad, its menu abounds in phrases such as "farm fresh" and makes recourse to faux folksy talk such as "jar o' pickles" while it also celebrates an array of American classics, from hush puppies to fried chicken and on to the slightly slangy "mac and cheese." All of this is delivered in a setting which, however pleasant, suggests the patio of a boutique hotel in a chic European town rather than a spot where one might pick up "fried pig ears" or "black-eyed peas." Which is not to say that the Tart dining experience is anything less than novel or enjoyable; it is, rather, divertingly and amusingly confused, a kind of colorful kaleidoscope of Californian concepts that sometimes tickles, sometimes pleases, and sometimes achieves a lively ludicrousness. The intense and sometimes excessive miscellaneousness of the concept and the menu at the minimalistically-named Tart extends to the implementation of the dishes. The chicken and dumpling main course, for example, offered deliciously robust chicken that savored in an essentialist way of down-home poultry. An array of beautifully seasoned vegetables nestled around the vigorously cut chicken excerpts in a way that resonated of a happy home table. Yet there was still something missing. Too many big chunks, too fearfully small an admixture of dumplings (perhaps a genuflection to the carb-averse crowd), and too thin a sauce of jus left the diner without the sense of a fully assembled meal. The concluding coconut panna cotta evidenced the same daunting diversity: shortbread, pudding, and strawberry seemed pleasant enough together, yet, somehow or other, this Humpty Dumpty of a dessert never quite gelled. Tart is a restaurant with a great deal of promise and with a splendid setting. Presently, the chef is attempting too cerebral an approach to what amounts to gloriously upgraded comfort food. A little more sense of the soil, a bit more richness, somewhat less austerity, and voila, a masterpiece will emerge.

We recently visited Tart for brunch on a Sunday, and we discovered that this is quite a popular restaurant! 45 minutes without a reservation, yikes! Anyway, the food is just okay, I suspect that this place is popular more for the people watching than the food. We sat inside, which I do not recommend because it was crazy-loud. I'm not sure if it was an echo, but our table basically had to shout at each other to carry on a conversation. Our food arrived quickly but several of the orders were not complete (i.e. my friend ordered a side of chicken sausage, and we repeatedly had to request it after our meals arrived). My egg white omelette was decent, although nothing to write home about. Tart seems like a great place to take out of towners, because it will give them a great opportunity to experience an LA "scene". This is not the best place if you are looking for a low key breakfast, or want to hear your table mates.

What a great place! One of the best service I’ve ever have. It was just perfect, music, food. Definitely coming back.

We turned up on the day and they found us a table straight away. We sat outside, the fire pit was on and the sun was shining. We opted for bottomless mimosas which were lovely and constantly topped up. Breakfast was really nice - my husband had the Eggs Benedict and he had eaten it within 5 minutes so quite small portions - which was fine for me. Later we had the banana pudding which was amazing. Out bill was delivered at 4pm (figured this mean we had outstayed our welcome). Would definitely return - there was a relaxed atmosphere and people were enjoying a good drink.

Tart is connected to the Daughter's Farmers Hotel!! It is a "botiqueeee" hip restaurant, with a unique outdoor dining including an outdoor brick fireplace. I had their Chicken and Waffle which was great. One that stood out was their French Pressed Coffee served with cute mug and saucer. Very European!! I really loved their outdoor dining. It was relaxing, especially on a nice day. Location is fantastic since they are only right across The Grove. Service was excellent, and I really recommend paying them a visit for a nice get together brunch with friends and family. Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

We just had a couple margaritas while we sat in the courtyard listening to live music. The bartender makes a great drink!

The food and atmosphere are fun and quirky. This eatery is a great compliment to the Farmer's Daughter Hotel next door.

Ok, this is a small little gem connected to a cool little hotel: Farmer's daughter. Tart offers great drinks, outdoor seating with fire pits and the best Mac & Cheese in the city--so creamy & packed with flavor; served in a small iron kettle!

We had burger and tacos with lobster and both were amazing. Very nice interior and service was lovely.

The outdoor ambience was cozy; offering a warm pit fireplace, adorned with over-sized pillows and blankets to cuddle. The restaurant menu selections were basic at best.

Great vibe at Tart. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We had Eric and Devin serving us and they were top notch :) I had a vegetarian omelette. It was pretty average but the mimosas made up for it. It is a pricey restaurant for what you get but still a very nice ambience and beautiful setting. I would come back here again but maybe more for the mimosas and not so much the food.

Came here for brunch, and I was not impressed at all. The wait was longer than we were told, and the hostesses were incredibly rude. The cocktails were good and the food was okay. My water glass had lipstick on it, my order was I correct, and I was not ever offered a refill on my drink by our server. While our server was nice, it was an overall disappointing experience. I would rather spend my money elsewhere. There are so many better options in LA.

We stayed at Framer's Daughter hotel, so Tart was a natural for us to hang out in. During happy hour, the appetizers are $5.00, no matter what. I ordered the shrimp and grits, ordinarily 12.00. It turned out to be a round cast iron pan filled with cheese grits and andouille sausage pieces, topped with a half a dozen braised shrimp and fresh okra in a tasty sauce. This was dinner sized, an incredible buy for five bucks. We had the deviled eggs with smoked trout, also delicious. So two people could order 3 appetizers for 15.00, and have a nice dinner. Fresh corn bread accompanied this, on the house. My wife tried a burger that turned out to be gigantic, that she couldn't finish. Very attentive and friendly staff, nice quaint atmosphere in keeping with the Farm theme of the hotel.

Had lunch with a friend here. Tart is a trendy spot in the Grove/Market area. Menu has some great selections. We had 2 different kinds of Eggs Benedict - both were quite delicious. One was on crabcakes, a nice touch. Tart has a great atmosphere, is often not too crowded during the week making it a great place to catch up with a friend over some great food and reasonable prices.

The experience and the food were great! We went on a Sunday for brunch. (with my frat bruhs, definitely, do a reservation though) It was our first time so initially, we felt bombarded with so many rules and regulations. Can't sit here. Large parties can only eat from this menu. Can only pay this way. Damn what can we do?! lol. It was a bit off-putting, but our server made things great. Food was excellent. Great environment. We were on the patio so it got a little warm. Overall, great place!

This restaurant is part of the "Farmer's Daughter" hotel. The courtyard is removed from Fairfax and it has a nice sitting area with olive trees, potted citrus, fire pits, wood paneling, and lounge seats. It's a comfortable place mixing Earth elements. The food was top notch. We had a dinner and a breakfast, and both were great. I had a fish that was one of the best I've ever had, and I live on the Pacific and eat a lot of fish! The dessert was also to die for. Really fun and a very nice staff.

One weekend recently, husband and I had an errand to run up in LA not far from Farmers Market / The Grove. With heavy traffic that Saturday, it took us about 90 minutes to get there (though only about 10 minutes to take care of the errand). Afterwards, we were famished as it was about 2pm or so and we hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch yet. Normally we would take the opportunity to go to Farmers Market / the Grove to eat at the Gumbo Pot and browse the stalls and shops. However, this time we just weren't in the mood - we just wanted a good meal before heading home. Driving by Farmers Market on Fairfax, we noticed Tart (attached to Farmer's Daughter hotel). I quickly looked it up and it looked promising, so we decided to give it a try. Warning - free (or metered) self parking is in short supply around here. We used valet parking at Tart / Farmer's Daughter - as I recall, it was about $6 for 2 hours with Tart validation (plus tip for the valet). You could also park across the street at Farmers Market - though that may not be any cheaper unless you stop into a Farmers Market vendor and get validation. Limited seating is available inside, but most is on the patio between Tart and Farmer's Daughter - we sat outside. We ordered drinks - I got a Kir Imperial (Champagne, Chambord, and muddled blackberries), while Husband got a drink that was a take on a Mint Juley - bourbon, champagne, and mint sprig. Both drinks were good and worked well at brunch. We started our meal by sharing Biscuits & Bacon Gravy - three smallish house-made biscuits covered with a gravy which included a generous amount of lean bacon pieces. While the gravy was good, the biscuits were outstanding - light and flaky. Next visit we will likely get the biscuits on their own (without gravy) to really enjoy them. For the mains, husband ordered the Crispy Fried Brussels Sprouts sandwich, while I had that day's special - Short Rib Hash Benedict. His sandwich was excellent - served open-faced, it included a split baguette spread with a mascarpone cheese mixture and then topped with a mountain of fried brussels sprouts. I am usually more of a carnivore, but I would definitely order that sandwich in the future. My Short Rib Hash Benedict was also quite delicious. Two slices of toasted baguette were topped by a generous helping of hash - a combination of shredded braised short rib, chunks of potatoes, peppers and onions - followed by two poached eggs and hollandaise. Really good! I'm not much for corned beef hash, but this Short Rib Hash was excellent. Husband and I also shared a side of cheddar cheese grits. The grits were super creamy and delicious - good grits. However, usually when you get cheese grits, the cheese has been stirred through the hot grits, so that you get cheese with each bite of grits. In this case, there was just a little bit of cheddar melted on top of the little pot of grits, no cheese actually in the grits themselves. Get this is you are in the mood for grits, but not if you want super cheesy grits. Personally, I love plain old buttery grits, so I was OK with the parcity of cheese. Finally, we ended our meal by sharing the Pie of the Moment, which was Blackberry, a la mode. Good pie - and especially good crust. Service was good and the setting nice - relaxed, casual - and Tart seemed pretty busy / popular, mainly with 20-somethings, but though we are 50-somethings, we didn't feel uncomfortable or out of place. We would definitely go back to Tart in the future, either for brunch (which I believe is offered every day) or dinner. There are loads of things on both the brunch menu and the dinner menu that we'd like to try.

Best hamburger I had during my 5 day trip to LA. I ate a hamburger every day while in LA, including the latest trendy burgers. Some I tried were across the street at The Grove. None compared to the American Style hamburger I had at Tart. Tart is located in front of The Farmer's Daughter Hotel and easy to locate on Fairfax. Try this small jewel of a place. You will enjoy their decor, wait staff and great food.

We spent two nights at Farmer's Daughter Hotel associated with The Tart. We had a late evening meal of drinks and light dishes and breakfast one morning. The cornbread muffins and crispy fried brussel sprouts were enjoyed by all of us. I had the crispy tuna and it was well prepared and enjoyable. For breakfast we had a very good House Granola Parfait and the Market Scramble which was tasty but had a bit too much asparagus for my taste. We also enjoy various adult beverages in the evenings as well as some excellent fresh squeezed orange juice. Even if you are not staying at the hotel, this would be a worthy restaurant to visit any time of the day or night.

This place had an overabundance of charm and just as equal in quality of cuisine. I was lucky enough to stay in the Adjacent hotel. This is maybe the coolest "lobby bar" experience I have ever had. Yet, no need to be a visitor to the hotel. The menu is upscale comfort food with a twist. I enjoyed Dinner as well as Sunday Brunch the next day. The Bloody Mary's were perfect, although I declined the bottomless option as I needed to drive. I chose the outdoor dining option both visits, but inside was very cute. I really have no complaints, and the pricing was on par for the quality of food that is presented.

Just go! Drinks, punch bowls will have you floored! Shrimp and grits are amazing! Biscuits must try! French toast amazing! Go! Go! Go!

I find it particularly hard to trust a restaurant in a hotel but when you have been out and about in the city all day you just want something quick, fast, and delicious that you will not regret. Given that I had zero expectations, I was definitely surpirsed. In all fairness everytime I went in and out of the hotel, it was atleast half full (so I shouldn't have been). Lovely decor and seating, really interesting menu. The burger was delicious! Very filling, comes with two sides, the asparagus was yummy, the Mac 'n' cheese was very homey and great. My only regret is having wasted a food experiences in LA, when this eatery was right under our noses this whole time.

Intensely flavourful, perfectly cooked food. Only thing not worth it was the peanut butter semifreddo with a brittle so hard, it nearly broke our teeth. For 14.00, dessert has to be great.

We just had drinks and a few apps. Nice service. Be sure to check out the bathrooms (gender neutral). Trust me.

We ate her while staying in the hotel, it's a fab funky place with fresh tasty food, try the breakfast fruit platter it's amazing, we would definitely eat here again 5*

Having only had breakfast at TART several years ago, I was with my sister and we enjoyed lunch here this week. We'd heard there was a new menu and since we had business in the area, we agreed to see what was special for lunch. We were warnly greeted and made to feel welcome immediately, and we knew we'd made the right choice. For our meal we chose a turkey meatloaf banh-mi style sandwich with (exquisite) thin-cut fries, and the seafood salad with "muddled" citrus vinaigrette. We loved all of it, and give high points for clean, fresh flavors, beautiful presentation, and in general, delicious food without pretentious attitude. And, we highly recommend that you save room for dessert. The gorgeously-presented brown butter tart with blackberries and vanilla ice cream, was truly one of the most special desserts we have enjoyed in a long time! Every single bite was such pure pleasure we almost asked for a rubber spatula to mop up every single anything left on the plate. We think we definitely need to return for a meal with a "punch bowl", something so whimsical on their lunch and dinner drink menu, we hope it's a don't-miss on our next visit. We ate indoors and, very much look forward to dining in their outdoor patio - with fireplace - on another visit, very soon. So grateful to have experienced TART on a whole new level!

This popular restaurant, part of Farmer's Daughter Hotel, has a spacious outdoor area with seating for large and small groups, a fireplace and fire pits. The interior dining area is simple and intimate. We stayed at the hotel four nights. Breakfast (not included) served in our room was great. We had French toast with berries and whipped cream, the granola parfait and the mini quiche on various mornings and all were delicious. We had dinners that included salmon, crispy fried Brussel sprouts with egg, crab cakes, and fries. Everything was delicious...perfectly seasoned, tasty, and nicely presented. Nice wine list.

We had breakfast here each morning before setting out for the day and while it was expensive (full US breakfast was $80 for four people) the food set us up for the day. The staff were fantastic and the food excellent - try the French Toast!

Tart is attached to the Farmer's Daughter hotel where we stayed for two nights. They served breakfast lunch and dinner but we only had breakfast. The portions were large and the service was great.

I was one of a group of 10 that arrived relatively early for Sunday evening dinner. We had lots of seating options and because the evening was warm we chose to sit on the outdoor deck patio. The back side of the deck was perfect for our group. The menu is small but there are lots of vegetarian choices. I had a rice bowl which was really tasty. I also sampled the Brussels sprouts, broccoli, garden salad and mac and cheese. All were very good dishes. Given that there were not many customers, we had lots of attention from the wait staff.

We were surprised how delicious the brunch/breakfast was at Tart. They were so delightful, and the food so good; that we decided to have drinks/apps later that night in lieu of another hot spot in the area. The atmosphere is so magical and the service attentive....no faux LA types looking their noses down here.

delicious food, excellent outdoor seating, great music, our server was very good, loved the outdoor fireplace!

Been here a few times over the years, the menu has changed quite a bit over time, but options are always tasty and fresh. Nice indoor and outdoor seating, trendy atmosphere; customer service can be spotty, but usually pretty good. In a very busy part of LA, across from the Grove mall, with a lot of shops and areas to walk around after dining in. Overall great choice for food/drinks in the area

Been looking around for a fruit/granola light and healthy breakfast, decided to try the hotel restaurant, Tart. Surprisingly good, not at all a mediocre hotel quality food venue. Had the granola parfait breakfast and an iced latte. Just what I wanted, will be doing this as my regular breakfast when I visit LA.

Servers were impeccable and food was exactly as ordered. Yummy! Loved the breakfast choices, French toast was out of this world.

I really enjoyed dining here, the decor is cool, service is friendly and the food is delicious! We sat outside most afternoons and had a cheese platter and cocktails, great way to spend the afternoons.

We were guests in the Farmers Daughter Hotel next door, Breakfast: food was ok, staff (probably typical for that location) unfriendly, inattentive, slow. Basically this breakfast was a 1-dot rating. Tip: skip breakfast here and go to the farmer's market across the street. Fantastic, fresh, eat anything you can think of, you will find it here, also sometimes celebrities shopping for farm fresh strawberries. Dinner: We went there for a drink, had no drink, but a good wine-per glass and we just decided to get some small dishes... excellent! Food was great and the position at the bar with a very friendly, funny and quick lady behind the bar was perfect. Place was almost empty on both occasions!

Where else in LA can you get catfish fish 'n chips, fried pickles, or a healthy beet salad? Food was outstanding, service even better...and desserts were sinfully delicious. Great fun LA atmosphere.

I went to Los Angeles to visit of one my good friends and she made reservations here for brunch one day. It was beautiful outside so we sat on their patio, we both had some variation of egg dishes and we also got the endless mimosas. The food was amazing. Some of the best I've ever had in a large city and the mimosas were even better! The wait staff was very friendly, making small talk with us and the bathroom was very clean (hard to come by in any restaurant). I'm planning another trip to Los Angeles in the winter and Tart is a must visit when I am back.

We were staying at Farmers Daughter and ate at Tart for every meal. So so yummy. The chicken and waffles were so yummy!! We can't wait to go back! Service was good, it wasn't busy, and had no complaints. Check it out!

Have been here quite a few times and there is a reason this place gets great reviews! Just had breakfast this last time and as usual it was gold!

We had a great dinner and breakfast here. The friendly staff were more than willing to provide us with info on the locality as well as food recommendations. The eggs benedict were particularly good. We struggled to pick the food as the choice was so good, so we shared a great deal of the dinner menu

We are staying at the farmers daughter Hotel (which is amazing) and so stopped here for a drink before going out for dinner. I'm pregnant so obviously not drinking, my husband asked them if they could make me a non-alcoholic cocktail, their response was, 'no, not really.' he then asked what soft drinks they had and he was again not very helpful and just said 'some sodas'. The drinks were incredibly expensive also. Nice atmosphere and all the other staff appeared to be lovely and as stated above the hotel is amazing!!!!

The food was fine, the atmosphere was astheticly pleasing, but they seemed to be out of almost everything on the menu. Crab and eggs Benedict was average.

Try the Steak and Egg breakfast. It's so good I can't resist leaving a feedback! I'm usually very lazy to leave a feedback but their steak and egg breakfast was so good I'm trying to fill in the 100 minimum characters for this feedback. It's not in their online menu but it's there in their breakfast choices when you order.

Stopped by here with friends for a post-dinner cocktail. A great spot. Our waitress (wish I remembered her name) was very excited to serve us. Our cocktails were good (a tad on the higher price point side, but understandable given the location of the venue). But the best part of this spot is the ambiance. A cool vibe with lots of outdoor sitting space and fire pits; perfect for evening drinks with friends. We also shared the banana-chocolate bread pudding. Definitely get it if it’s on menu!

The unassuming exterior & atmosphere did not prepare me for such a wonderfully tasty meal! The long beans are a must try!

I feel a little mean giving it an average review -- super cute place and convenient if you're staying at Farmer's Daughter, but food is only decent and service is slow (but friendly!). Anywhere else would be VERY GOOD but in LA, there are too many good alternatives

Tart is a great restaurant and a superb hotel restaurant. The restaurant focuses on fresh and seasonal food with a southern influence. Yet the prices are reasonable.

My two kids and I were staying at the Farmer’s Daughter Hotel where TART is housed. Didn’t have high hopes at first as nobody was there on a Thursday evening at 6pm. However, this was their lose as the food is OUTSTANDING! Innovative, fresh, good value for portion and DELICIOUS! Whether staying there or not , can’t recommend TART highly enough. If at The Grove, it’s worth a quick step across the road.

Getting here can be difficult because parking and it's in the middle of the block on a busy street. Valet is $6 with validation or you can park on Fairfax and 3rd. Once you've got that out of the way, Tart is a great place to enjoy your meal and the scene. I came with a group of friends and we got the Full Bowl of drinks. We asked the manager how many servings would a Full Bowl be for the group. He lied to us and said it would be like 2/3 drinks per person. We were not able to finish that and would've been good with a half size. (Tallk about upselling). We ordered the Corn Bread which was declious and a must. For my meal I had Chicken and Waffles which i enjoyed a lot. The waffle was cooked perfectly and when I bit into my chicken I was really happy it wasn't bland and dry. It was full of flavor and definitely worth getting.

This restaurant was on the hotel property where we were staying. We got in late (10:30) and the restaurant closes at 11. They got us in and our food delivered by 11. Menu a hoity toity comfort food. I had chicken and waffles. They were very good. The burger was good too. Wine list limited but selection ok for what was offered. Cute atmosphere and the staff was very nice.

Hotel restaurant for the Farmer's Daughter. We went for breakfast. I had the brussel sprout sandwich with capers, yellow raisins, pine nuts, and mascarpone cheese which was so delicious that I made one of my own at home. The serving size was ample. We also ordered the waffle with fresh berries and whipped cream which was also delicious. Good, hot coffee and a delightful waitress who was both friendly and helpful. We would definitely return. We stayed at the hotel but there is available valet parking. You can sit on the patio or indoors.

I ate here before my longhaul flight home and happened upon Happy Hour ($5 cocktails!). The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better meal before leaving the U.S.A

As good a hotel breakfast, freshly made from an interesting, varied and imaginative list of choices, as we've recently had.

3.5 stars would probably be more accurate of a rating. The overall atmosphere was upbeat for a small establishment. The food was so-so considering there are so many other options in the area. I had the shrimp and grits... it could use more flavoring, I think. The shrimp were a good size so I was not disappointed thoroughly. My friends had the chicken and waffles and a blue cheese burger... nothing super special, sadly. For the prices, I would expect more flavor pizazz. The servers and hostess were really nice. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

I had a yummy, healthy breakfast; eggs florentine. The service was really good too. She was so friendly and welcoming. I had a lot of time to kill and felt no pressure to leave. The decor and atmosphere was really cool and relaxing. I'll be back!

EXCELLENT food and beautiful outdoor dining space. The menu selection was wonderful.Great place for biz or pleasure. Even just drinks here would be really fun, Great mixologist here too!

Loved this little place! Ate brunch here twice and definitely recommend it. The bacon was very tasty and the chicken & waffle with scricha maple syrup was fantastic! The staff was on point with their customer service and very friendly and super hip! Inside and outside seating. Cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed eating here!

We had breakfast but actually tried the previous evening to have drinks. The previous evening we found the place uninviting and the staff ambivalent to us being there. We were shown to a table and checked the menu and left, I'm sure they didn't even notice. The next morning for breakfast was marginally better. The staff were still unengaging but the size and quality of the meal made up for it somewhat. Coffee was good and the pancakes were recommendable. I wouldn't rush back.

A fireplace, great cocktails, rustic setting and great vibe? the answer must be Tart. The food is excellent. Try the brussel sprouts - seriously delicious.

Breakfast was delicious. The french toast was amazing and the eggs really do taste farm fresh. Had burgers for lunch and again very good. I really enjoyed the staff who were genuinely friendly and attentive. You can eat inside or outside (with an open fire). Average hotel prices for the meals. I would definitely eat there again.

Tart is the restaurant associated with Farmer's Daughter Hotel. The hotel and Tart are both kitschy throwbacks to past times in Los Angeles that have renovated themselves and modernized while still keeping their unique personality. At Tart, food is prepared home-style and served in a very casual, but welcoming atmosphere. Be sure to try the basket of fresh-baked biscuits. It's a fun place within walking distance of the famous Farmer's Market and Grove Shopping Center.

Good location, cool vibe, friendly waiting staff, good food, amazing strawberry yuzu soda. Definitely worth a visit.

We sat outside and I enjoyed the salad and knish The coffee is outstanding and it is very casual-My husband had the American breakfast which is enough for two. There is a cute bar inside as well.

I stay at the Farmers Daughter hotel several times a year and only just ate a full dinner here. The apps are good and seem to be well thought out. Try the smoked trout deviled eggs. The rest of the menu is interesting. I had a main course of shrimp and grits which could have used some more flavor but it was good. They have a nice happy hour with $5 beers and apps which is great as a starter or drop by for a drink.

Unlike many trendy brunch spots, the tables are spread out. I didn't feel like I was eating in a cafeteria. The patio was cute, the staff friendly and helpful with making menu selections. The breakfast lasagne was OOC good. Definitely go for the bottomless bloody Mary's or mimosas. We arrived around 10:15/10:30 on a Sunday and got seating right away. They don't take same day reservations, so if you have a larger group or don't want to risk waiting, call the day before.

I am used to restaurants in hotels (or associated with hotels) being both a) highly overpriced and b) highly underwhelming. I can pleasantly say this was not the case with TART. As they note they try to provide southern comfort food with a twist and my wife and I had a great dinner. We were staying at the Farmers Daughter hotel which is located on the same property as TART and so decided to eat there one night to see what it was like. I would recommend going during their happy hour (5-7pm) as cocktails and appetizers are only $5. We both had delicious cocktails (a pimms cup for myself and my wife having a cocktail with a kick of spice). The drinks were well made although they didn't "hit us" that hard which might mean a lessening on the alcohol or, more likely, we ate such a nice meal the alcohol was soaked up. My wife had chicken and waffles while I had an andouille sausage and grits platter while we split the white cheddar macaroni and cheese. All of the food was very well prepared and tasted great. My wife loved her chicken and waffles while the macaroni and cheese was rich and decadent. My own platter was also very well made managing to mix the sausage and grits quite well along with assorted greens. The sausage had just enough kick to it to make it tasty without overwhelming my, admittedly, very low tolerance for spiciness. We were very well fed and could not eat any dessert although it was offered. All in all I would highly recommend trying TART if you are staying at the hotel or are near the area (near CBS studios). I do recommend the farmer's market for all of their selections, but if you wanted to try something a bit different TART isn't a bad choice. I do recommend showing up for the happy hour as it allows you to try a number of drinks/appetizers while not blowing your budget.

Great food, has a "Soho" look and feel. The menu has a good varierty. Cocktails are fab and can be ordered by the bowl! we loved it so much we came back twice before we left LA. Its in a great location and had a outside space which has outdoor heaters

A small but good restaurant with the possibility to eat inside or outside near a fireplace. The Menu is limited but the food and staff are great. Prices fair.

After a long day of traveling we decided to eat at this restaurant, which is located at the Farmer's daughter hotel. The food was good, but the service way too long. We had to wait more than 45 minutes for 3 salads! However the decor is just great. Next morning we ordered 2 coffees to go: 10$!!! I'm not talking about cappuccino, just regular coffee, way to expensive. There was a Pete's coffee next door... but we didn't know.

Cocktails and food were good the ambiance was fun. Outdoor seats have a fireplace. The waitress was overworked!

We had some of TART's tasty cookies! They had them in the room for us at the Farmer's Daughter Hotel.

Wanted to eat hear and was told that it was policy that dogs have to sit outside. My wife is disabled and has certified service dog and requested inside seating and again was refused... you'll have to take this up with the manager. They had plenty of inside seating

Polite and friendly service. Dinner is good, and nice selection of local wine, but to me the best is the breakfast, fresh baked french toast with home made whipping cream and berries. The coffee is very good.

TART is good ! One of the reasons we love staying at Farmer's Daughter is because it's trendy and the restaurant TART is really a great place to eat.

I loved their chicken and waffles. Coffee was fresh, service was good, and decor was unique and refreshing. Wish I could go there every day for breakfast!

Had a late night dinner with a friend at Tart on a Saturday night. Surprisingly the place was near empty. The food was very good. We shared the chicken and waffles, which were served on a hand-carved cutting board. I ordered the three-side combo of white cheddar macaroni and cheese, greens and black eyes peas and sweet potatoes. My friend had the shrimp and grits. She said it was the best she ever had away from home. The service was friendly and fast. The ambiance was set by dimmed lights and a dark interior. It is in a great location across the street from The Grove shopping and dining complex. I would definitely go back.

Nice atmosphere, great service and drinks. There were some solid offerings on the menu like the chicken and waffles but overall I wasn't blown away by any uniqueness for L.A. other than the decor and the drink menu.

After a long day of sightseeing, we returned to our Hotel before deciding where to eat dinner. Too tired to go to far, we decided to hit the cool and quiet restaurant in our hotel, (The Farmers Daughter). What a killer spot- tucked away from the street, fireplace and fire pit glowing, we ended up splitting a few dishes that more than satisfied our appetite. Burgers, pasta and chicken, all cooked and presented with care. Our waiter was attentive, and was as personable as he was efficient. In and out in less than an hour that with another drink or 2, could have kept us there well into the night. No one would have minded one bit. 😊
Nice Place
Stayed at the Farmer's Daughter for 2 nights and had Valentine Day's dinner at Tart. I enjoyed the scallops and creamed corn very much. Very good food I must say. Highly recommended.
