Happy Hour Fun

By Julie T |

We went happy hour with hungry bellies. We had the tamale bites to start. They were fabulous. We each had three tacos of assorted types and they were all delicious. My husband especially liked the chicken taco. Mosas frescos was delish! Would def return. Great service as well. They were playing vinyl records which was pretty cool.

A brilliant find !

I caught the free Streetcar from Reunion in Downtown Dallas, to Bishop Arts station (end of the line)... walked past a wishing tree, through a carpark, and ended up here ! ..... great adventure ! Great friendly staff, fabulous food ..... brilliant ! I'd definitely go back if I am ever in Dallas again ! Highly recommended !

Tacos and wine...

By Teagan Butler |

Taco Y Vino in Dallas is a cozy, laid-back spot that combines two of life’s great pleasures: tacos and wine. The tacos are creative and packed with flavor, offering both classic and inventive options, while the wine selection is surprisingly good for such a casual place. I love how it feels like a neighborhood gem, with a welcoming vibe, friendly staff, and a great patio for enjoying your meal outside. Whether you're there for a quick bite or a relaxed evening with friends, the food and atmosphere make Taco Y Vino a go-to spot for something delicious and different.

Absolutely fabulous!!

This was our first visit but it certainly won’t be our last—-it was absolutely delicious!! We ordered tamale bites as an appetizer and they were wonderful. Then, we each ordithe 3 tacos which you can mix and match. Each was unique and good—I couldn’t possibly choose a favorite! Very nice ambiance as well.

What a little gem

We were visiting Bishop Arts and had read great reviews of this place so decided to give it a try. We were absolutely NOT disappointed! Tastiest tacos I’ve had in a long time, or maybe ever, and friendly, swift service - what more could you want? Looking forward to coming back very soon.

EXCELLENT Avocado Taco

By sschmitz54 |

We're vegetarian. Tried the avocado taco and the JackFruit taco. Jackfruit is a vegetable used by vegetarians and vegans. Has the texture of brisket/pork. Spices and the way it's cooked leans it toward a vegetarian meat taco. Definition over. The main thing is the Avocado Taco is sooooooooo good. Will go back over and over again.

Excellent artisan tacos

By naturetack |

Amazing artisan tacos, but with an authentic vibe. Highly recommend trying three different tacos. Pro tip: don't limit yourself to just 3, but bring an appetite. The servers were extremely attentive, checking in to make sure they enjoyed our meal. Don't worry, it was delicious.

Excellent Tacos; Great Folks

By dallas75208 |

We love this place! The owners are really nice and welcoming and really hustle to make sure you have a good experience. The tacos are rooted in authenticity, but are elevated. Everything is just right. The atmosphere is fun and the wine selection is interesting and priced just right. This is the perfect little neighborhood spot.

Great atmosphere, food and wine

We located this place searching for gluten free options. What a find in the Bishop Arts district which is full of dining options. Lovely old renovated house. Great food, nice wine, fantastic atmosphere and thanks so much to Shayne for putting up with a family from down under! We ate here twice while in the area because the whole family had enjoyed the meal so much.

Great spontaneous lunch!

This place is fantastic all around. Due to Dallas county Covid restrictions we had to sit outside and even in 100+ degree weather, I still recommend. The service is great! Ask for Johnathan, he is fantastic and will treat you right. Tacos of all sorts and variety are mouth watering, savory and just awesome. Great wine selection. My husband and I split a bottle of the Broadbent Vinho Verdi which came out in a chilled ice bucket and was on the spot for a hot day!! Run here as fast as you can!

Happy days 😉👍

On our holiday from Stratford-upon-Avon England. From start to finish everything was perfect!! What lovely hidden gem! We had such a wonderful evening, thank you! Happy days 😉👍

Nice space but everything else went awry

By Steve B |

WARNING: Check your bill (bottom receipt in particular before you leave. Our total was upsized by $6-$7 from what we actually spent, and we would not have known that had we not checked the third (bottom-most) receipt in the pile. So, first the positives. The interior is interesting. Low-ceilings, only 7 tables, but upscale accessories that give the place a quality feel, like a nice bodega in Mexico City. And the staff was friendly if a bit too much so (lots of 'doll,' 'honey,' 'love,' etc. which small town folk will eat up but not so much urbanistas from the coasts. That's about it. The tacos were okay but nothing to write home about (I did find the taste varied depending on the sauce I used - the spicier the better. That said, the sauces were thin and runny). My wine, a Malbec was brought to the table much too chilled and again was only okay after it warmed up. We were entertained by: 1) A family with THREE small children who screamed, cried, kicked and ran amok, a la Jack in the Box. 2) A dude at the bar who decide to put his phone call on speakerphone (did I tell you this place is small). Kudos to the staff for moving us to a corner table away from them the minute it opened. Otherwise, we would have left. Location: This is in a ramshackle neighborhood of rundown houses near towering but vacant apartment buildings hoping to make this the next 'it' neighborhood. Very dystopian feeling and I would not walk around here at night. Really ramshackle across the street. It doesn't help that every time the door opens, there is a loud beep in the restaurant. And the staff likes to go in and out the door. A lot. Even more: it doesn't help that the bill brought to us was incorrect. Staff was apologetic but told me "we hope the credit went through." Um, so do we. The place may have potential but there are much better tacos in town and much better wine as well. Without screaming two year olds and incorrect tabs. Perhaps a telling sign: at 8 pm on a Saturday night, this restaurant of 7 tables was less than half full.

You must come here! Amazing!

You must come here! This place is such a gem. The food is amazing and the wine even better. Owner Jimmy is fun and engaging and extremely knowledgeable on his wines!

Groovy Tacos Y Vino

I was referred to Tacos Y Vino by a local and I'm so glad I went! My taco was delicious and the wine just as good! Stephanie was a delight and so was the owner.. And the atmosphere so charming! Highly recommend!

Rude customer service!

By V P |

When checking my order upon leaving I noticed just 1 small container of black beans (pictured) when I ordered 2. I went back inside and was told that what I received was 2 orders and that “it’s a large”. I have placed this exact order many times and have never been asked if I want a small or large. The point was, we asked for 2 sides and received one. The server was condescending and disrespectful and loudly told me next time I should order 2 larges. Again, I was never asked what size I wanted!!! Management was sitting at the bar and was clearly not bothered by how I was being spoken to. We have supported this business since before the pandemic and will NEVER return. Coming from a family of restaurant owners and having worked in the service industry my entire life, it is clear that this business owner does not value his customers. Oak Cliff has dozens and dozens of taco joints and bars. Choose another!

Happened by this place it is a couple of blocks off the Bishop Arts area. Cool atmosphere but can get loud. The tacos were very good and nice selection of wines. I recommend you give it a try.

Fun Place!

Great little restaurant and bar. Staff so friendly and efficient and helpful. Tuesday nights are a blast with Mexican Bingo (Loteria!) and caller Brian. Nice small outdoor seating also. Small menu but everything we tried was really good. I enjoyed the three street tacos and churro bites for dessert. The pinot grigio I had was cold and excellent. Would definitely come here again even on a night without the Loteria! Nice job Tacos y Vino!

Tacos & Cava - Seriously Good

By Caryn H |

We went here on the recocmmendation of my hairdresser Codie at Imaginaire. An old house remodeled into a clean, contemporary, friendly bar serving street tacos and quesedillas. They have only a few appetizers and about 12 tacos. Great server, Dana. Food and wine choices are plentiful. We had the Hibiscus Cava (Spanish sparkling wine). I would feel comfortable here sitting at the bar and ordering a cava with an app or tacos by myself. Can't say that about many places.

Date Night 3/23

By Will H |

We had come to breakfast earlier in the day and as we were leaving we saw this place and said we were going to have to come back and try this place..... little did I know we’d come back to Bishop Arts twice in one day..... and you know what??? This place is perfect! Sure the menu is small but it really works ( I feel like if you have too much on the menu it makes deciding so much harder ). Any way, we ordered our appetizer of tamale balls and of course ordered a very nice red bottle of wine.... it was the Lico Carignane 2018.... so smooth! We ordered our three tacos and they were heavenly! The atmosphere was just perfect and our waitress Molly was excellent! Definitely can’t wait to come back! You all should really try this place out!

Tacos and wine, who knew! Delicious!

By midwstgirl |

This place has been on our "need to try local owned" list for awhile. Great outdoor spaces! Cute house! Super friendly staff/owners. GREAT food. We had their $35 six tacos and a bottle of wine special. So glad. We mixed the tacos, which was fun. They were so tasty. The wine----really good! We started with the jalapeno artichoke dip, home made totopos. Very fresh and hot. We will be back, perhaps for brunch.

Phenomenal Food and Service

By Jayna D |

We went here on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. We were seated outside at a patio table. Service was prompt, food and wine were excellent. They were very sweet to my 5 yo son. There is a neighborhood cat that paid us a visit, Leftovers. Unfortunately, the table next to us decided to act in a performative, attention seeking manner when they saw the cat (outside, mind you) — jumping up, shrieking, grilling the waiter about whether the cat is allowed in the kitchen. They then proceeded to complain about said cat and watch it rub against my son like it was a rampaging pit bull. I felt badly for their server, as she seemed to do all she could to diffuse the “situation” for people who seemed determined to be unhappy and performative. I would highly recommend Tacos y Vino…ottoman at atmosphere was relaxed, food was phenomenal, service was excellent.

Good Food - Excellent Wine

By Janet H |

We were in the neighborhood and stopped in here based on reviews of food in the area. The menu is small, which may account for the careful seasonings and unique flavors of each taco. They are served in groups of 3-mix and match from the menu. You can also get one or more a la carte. I had fried avocado, topped with pickled onions, chicken Tonga, topped with onions and avocado cream, and pulled pork, topped with slaw. All had a sprinkling of cheese. We each had a glass of wonderfully dry sparkling rose. What a revelation!

Lunch And ordered take home also. it was that good!

By Sharon A |

We went for lunch on a Wednesday. The owner & staff were friendly and outgoing. We ordered the taco & wine pairing, At about 4pm the music changed, staff set tables for dinner and about 5pm the live music started. During our stay, there was a steady flow of customers and by the time we left almost every table was full. We enjoyed their Outside seating that is pet friendly, I will bring my puppy next time! We visited until after 6. And ordered take home also. it was that good!
