American Mexican

If you're from Texas or the Southwest, avoid this restaurant or be disappointed. Arriving at the restaurant, we we were promptly seated but then had to wait for our waiter. He then took our drink order but it took a long time to receive our drinks. I ordered a side taco which was a pile of stuff on a flat, heated corn tortilla. Rice was okay, beans not so much. Enchiladas were edible. Chile Relleno was a strange combination with meat stuffed underneath it instead of inside.

10 10th street set up

By Cmp1130 |

Let me just say, they come in very professional, setup and set us lunch in our build lounge. The food is fresh, the chicken has flavor throughout. Very well seasoned, the ground meat was also seasoned. The condiments are all fresh and chips. The price is great two tacos with rice and beans for 9.00

Great for a quick bite before a show at City Winery!

By Susan F |

We came here before a concert at City Winery. The skinny Margarita's are amazing!!!! The music is loud but it's a fun atmosphere!

Good but room for improvement

By SteveMatthewP |

We made our first visit. When we arrived the three of us were hungry and quickly polished off the basket of chips. We asked for another basket. Waited 10 minutes. Nothing. Asked again. Waited another 10 minutes and had to ask for a third time. While not a huge deal it was annoying. When the main dish came out the chicken quesadilla was quite good. High marks there. But the rice was dry and lacked any favor. The waiter never brought drink refills during our meal. That too was annoying. To top things off as we were walking out the host never thanked us. Nothing at all. We were completely ignored. If they can get their service needs addressed it wouldn't be a bad place. Again the chicken quesadillas were good and they have plenty of tvs for sports. So the potential is there. I'd give it 2.5 stars based on today.

Best Mexican Food around!

By Askthe G |

This is one of my favorite places on earth! The food is always fresh and delicious , the drinks are always popping and the staff is wonderful. The salsa is fire roasted and fresh, the queso is delicous! I always bring people here and they end up loving the place like I do.

Great Tacos

By Erwin E |

Visiting Atlanta and desire to eat good “mexican” food. Service was good, but food was excellent. One liter jar juices are fantastic at $5.00. I had fish tacos and were pretty good, wife son jad fajitas, mest was actually cooked perfect to our liking. Margaritas were good

Friends Dinner

By Samm P |

We went for a late night dinner after shopping. Awesome area, cool for being out of town. Service was horrible but the food was pretty decent. Drinks were very strong so well worth the money! Not sure it would be first on my list to go.

Pretty Good

By Chris L |

We ordered delivery through GrubHub, so I can't speak to the surroundings or service. We were very pleased with our food. The steak fajita quesadilla and the burrito cerda especial were very good, and we loved the churros.

Nice service food not so much

By livelife h |

The waiter was great but I was not impressed with the tacos it lacked flavor. The churros were decent but that's about it nice atmosphere my friend said the drinks were good

Great food, great service

By Patrick W |

First time at tacos and tequilas this Friday, and had a great overall experience. Wait wasn't too long, food was amazing, and brought out quickly and with friendly service by our server, Gaven, who also suggested some of the best margaritas I've had in the area, and at an astonishingly low price. I'll definitely be back.

Restaurant is beautiful and the service is good

By WorldTraveler11595 |

I came to this restaurant twice during my stay at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel. One night for drinks and another for dinner with a party of 7. As the title of this review indicates, the place is breathtaking beautiful and the service is very good. The food is not bad, but the reason for my 3 stars is because this restaurant is focused on Tacos and the way they cook the tortillas is not correct at all. They cook them in a way that does not provide enough consistency for the tortilla to hold the meat inside, and this ruins the experience of eating tacos. I had to eat my shrimp Tacos with a fork and knife because the tortilla broke into pieces. The flavors are right, but they need to learn how to cook tortillas properly. I strongly recommend the Chef fixes this so the experience at the restaurant can match the overall experience at the hotel (which was excellent).

Amazing experience everytime!

By Alexis W |

It never fails whenever i come here, it’s nothing less than amazing. I feel like family there at this point. Food is great, drinks are even better, and the people are amazing as well. Aleycia is my go to waitress, her energy was unmatched since the first time me and my friend ate there. I ask for her everytime. Now the manager Jarvis is a trip lol! He definitely has a great team on his hands. Try this place out ASAP!

Nice& neat place

By FreeJohnny |

Excellent service, great food and wonderful atmosphere but a little noisy, we had great time and good food. We loved the food and we had a couple friends. Everyone had good time we all enjoyed

OK

By R. K. V. |

The tacos were ok- sauces and totopos pretty good. But overall a pretty average dinner. Good service and very reasonable value for money

GREAT DRINKS! GREAT STAFF!!

By LaTricia D |

The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was very nice and helpful with drink choices. The jalapeno margarita was better than I thought it would be.

Authentic Mexican food served hot!

By TFitz134 |

We ate on a balcony overlooking the street instead of inside the restaurant proper. Every large portion was served piping hot and delicious. Someone near us had a birthday, so the staff streamed outside to deliver a rousing birthday song in Spanish. Very attentive and friendly staff who did whatever it took to satisfy.

Food is great

By Hello H |

Omg this place it so good the chips and salsa might get you full but when you have your first bite of your food you might down it in 1 second it’s that good

Great priced lunch

By Sara S |

Service was great! We had 19 people, they accommodate us perfectly! The food was awesomely flavored!

Great atmosphere and better food

By Deadheart1121 |

A craving for Mexican food brought me to this great new place in the heart of the city. WOW!!! Am I glad I found this. Very well priced and the food...the food...the food is beyond belief. The waiter we had, Lalo was one of the most professional and helpful I have ever encountered. He was right there everytime we needed him. The food was fresh, well prepared and sooooo GOOD. I am looking forward to our next trip there.

Birthday Dinner

By Diva Meeka |

Had a very nice ambiance and atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Good foods and drinks. The nachos and shrimp tacos were delicious. Will definitely return.

Perfect Mexican Food

By Skeithphoto |

Great food, extensive menu, always friendly service. The cheese dip is addicting! The chicken soup is a must on a cold day. The chicken salad is my favorite, while the steak fajitas are my boyfriend's favorite.

Nice little gem

By ILLV |

Right off Roswell Road by Publix near Chastain Park is this little gem of a restaurant. Service is excellent and very friendly. Food is wonderful. A lot of food at lunch for under $6. Would also be great after work for a drink. Highly recommend.

Frequent Lunch Favorite

By firefox0102 |

I enjoy eating lunch at this spot once a week. I have never had a single bad experience, and the food is always solid! (Great service last time with our server Gavin!)

Quick get together!

By shan t |

Gaven was awesome! My drink was fire!!!!!Make sure you get the top shelf margarita. Good food and a great time with my friend!

Enjoyable Experience

By Oliver H. Richmond III |

Great atmosphere with soft lighting, multiple sports stations broadcasting simultaneously and attentive waitstaff. Server Daniel was very professional, helpful with the menu and responsive to our needs. His coworker attends CAU!

No good guacamole..pre bag

By Nena S |

Not much to say but good Margaritas and good food. The waiter me and my guess had was not to attentive and the guacamole not homemade it's prefix and not a good quality. Not worth the charge for it 4.75$. The drinks will get you right in the mood for whatever. The bathroom's were clean the restaurant was clean. The host was was very flamboyant and friendly which is good. They have free parking which is a plus. Elevator or stairs is good. Again the fajitas were very good and would go for just that.

Best Mexican Restaurant in Atlanta!

By TJ V |

We have been here several times and we are never let down. From the moment you walk in the door they let you know you are their priority. Their atmosphere is fantastic and all the servers we have encountered were respectful and prompt in there service and don't treat you like another number. Their food is above average and of course they have a great bar menu. To top it off... The prices are incredibly reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Service is TOP notch

By Dmpishock |

We went to the Cumming location which is not yet listed on Trip Advisor. Anyway, wow. The service is jam up right from when you walk in until you walk out the door. They are awaiting your arrival with chips and various waiters are constantly checking on you making sure everything is perfect. The manager is spot on with the little things and the attention to detail. The food was very, very good as well. Real chicken and not rubber like many places use. Their menu is quite large and the hot salsa is HOT! a Good HOT! We will definitely go back and again, the service and atmosphere is going to blow you away.

A delightful Mexican Cantina in Buckhead

By Nikalodian |

We have been here twice now in the past month and it just keeps getting better. The service is excellent. The entire staff helps one another and the Manager is absolutely 'hands on'. There is an outdoor covered patio which is nice and the bar is reasonably sized. The portions are generous and the foods is very tasty. We had the Fajitas and the enchiladas - was very good. The fare is reasonably priced as well. Definitely a great choice for family and friends when dining in Buckhead away from all the fancy restaurants.

Fun atmosphere for family

By AwesomeladyUS |

We were seated in the outside patio with potected plastic walls which was good as the restaurant inside was noisy. It was Saturday and lots of kids there. They do have a kids menu on Saturday which helped on the budget. Kids also had the chicken soup which was pretty good. All 5 kids rated the restaurant food as a 3 on a 5 rating. My shrimp fajita was ok and would get the chicken next time. It was a lot to eat and would have prefered the M-F lunch size. Kids loved the chips but said that other places served them warm.

Great Food Average Service

By David |

After being seated we were ignored for 10 minutes or so until we were able to flag down a server. It wasn't his section but thankfully he waited on us as we were planning to leave. There are too many dining options in Atlanta to deal with subpar service. The food was very good, the portions were nice, and he kept the drink glasses full. We would return for the yummy food and hope for a little better service next time.

We wish we could recommend it.

By sfwaters |

Tacos and Tequilas restaurant is in a small shopping center close to our home so we have tried it several times - 6 or 8 times by various family members and friends. The restaurant itself is large and pleasantly appointed in a pretty much standard Mexican Restaurant style. The hosts are unfailingly polite and welcoming. The food is unremarkable but just fine. The wait staff is another matter entirely: unfailingly slow, forgetful, confused and unapologetic. Not even once has our table gotten what we ordered without mixups and/or omissions. If you're untroubled by poor service and attitudes close to surly, give it a try. Especially if the weather is mild and you're in the mood for snacks, beers & cocktails on a covered patio. From there, you can stroll to the bar yourself and pick up your order. Unless the bartender has ... stepped away for a minute...

Must try!

By Lucylove29 |

Very nice. Went to the one in cumming ga and we loved it. Great food great service! The people were friendly. And I'll certainly go again

Margaritas and Fish Tacos

By FebTravelGuide |

We enjoyed the service, the food and pitcher of margaritas. Fish tacos were yummy and cilantro rice delish

Good Food

By luvcruzin2 |

We decided to look outside the Ponce Market for a place to eat and found the Tacos and Toquilla Mexican Restaurant. It was very good food and service. The area is a bit "iffy" for walking around as there were men hanging around with one urinating in the bushes. Don't think I'd want to go there by myself. However, this is located in a shopping area across from the Ponce Market and there is parking in that area which might be a better choice. We both ordered 2 chicken tacos, 2 in flour and 2 in corn tortillas. The chicken was a large quarter piece of chicken breast, tomatoes, a slice of avocado, and a sauce. It was very reasonably price. Would definitely go there but would park in the shopping area where the restaurant is located.

Great food, better location

By pcbboater |

This place used to be a Japanese steak house, and is now the home to this new gem. Great margaritas, and awesome tacos! We'll definitely be visiting again.

Must try!

By mflores0924 |

We have actually never been to a Tacos & Tequilas before but we are from Houston (Tex-Mex Central) and we are so bummed there is not one in our area~ we started with the queso and guac duo with margaritas and it was delicious, a little different taste than other restaurants we've tried, especially being in Atlanta! Also, delicious fajitas and quesadillas! We will defiantly be back – but, come to Houston!

Great

By HairByCharles |

Went to Whole Foods and was looking for somewhere to eat and we love Mexican food do we tried it out. Fantastic food, fantastic service. The salsa was so good we had a refill. I had tacos with wheat tortillas and yummy. Never had to ask for anything. The Chipotle mayo was awsome. I put it on almost everything. Must go and enjoys. To bad we do not drink because the margaritas looked yummy also.

Nickel and Dimed for Average Food

By AK L |

I was excited to try this place when it opened up, but just recently got the opportunity to go. I love mexican food and margaritas, so I was incredibly excited! I went with my husband, who had grilled chicken tacos, and I had the veggie tacos with black beans. We shared cheese dip and salsa. While the food was all good, the service was lacking. The place wasn't slammed, but we had to wait some time before being addressed after being seated by the hostess. We also were often looking for the server for drink refills and other requests (napkins, more chips, the check, etc). The server was very friendly, just not very attentive. Once we got our checked, we were shocked at the charges. The tacos weren't cheap (about $9.50 for 3 tacos and beans), but I was charged 2 dollars for adding shredded cheese to my tacos, and a "surcharge" for soft tacos and chicken for my husband's dish. I thought that was really tacky, considering the menu clearly laid out the options of hard or soft shell tacos and chicken or beef and the meals were already nearly ten dollars. I likely won't return based on the service and overcharging on "surcharges"

Will return

By Thistish |

Good tacos and good margarita's. This place is loud but the service was good and the food came up quickly.

Very good food and the service is great!

By Richard R |

We had lunch here on Friday and the food was very good. LuLu was our waitress and she was very friendly and helpful. The manager Antonio was very friendly and thanked us for choosing their restaurant for lunch. The menu was great and their daily specials are very affordable. We will definitely be going back!

Too many birthday parties

By HonestTravel |

Lots of large groups with employees rushing around singing "Feliz Cumpleanos". Perhaps I'm ill spirited, but it all seems so contrived. I've been twice. The first time we weren't impressed. But we ended up there again, as PCM was too crowded. The margaritas are weak. Very disappointing to drink a pitcher of margaritas between 2 people and hardly leave with a buzz. The service was sorta of slow, but the manager recognized that since they were down 5 servers and paid for 50% of our food, which was nice. The food was better than the 2nd time. My friend thought his burrito was average. My husband really enjoyed his fajitas. I had a brisket torta like sandwich. It was loaded with brisket and with just a little hot sauce, it was quite tasty and a little different. It lasted me 3 meals (mind you, I don't eat a lot at one sitting). I won't be rushing back due to all the big parties. And I certainly won't order margaritas again. The glass of wine I had was actually pretty decent. Overall the place is just average.

Great Authentic Restaurant

By Alan C |

Better than expected Mexican Restaurant off a shopping mall parking lot. Had enchiladas and was wonderfully surprised by the quality and presentation of food. Had separate bar, family seating, and outside. Taco chips and salsa served before meal were light and authentic, salsas were awesome.

Nice place for drinks

By daisyclv |

Recently went here with friends. There is a nice patio for outdoor seating. They have pretty good prices for margaritas and food. The food was good especially the quac and queso.

Consistent, but can do better

By VGR001 |

T&T is one of our regular places to visit. The food is consistently good and I like their chicken fajitas. I recommend eating outside on the porch or your clothes will smell like onions for days. While I like most menu options, I am not a fan of their salsa at all and find it very thin and overly smokey. I still recommend T&T for a good Mexican meal.

Extensive Menu

By Garey R |

Went with my wife and some friends. Our waitress was great. She was not overbearing and was very knowledgeable. To start we had the T&T Dip (Queso, Shrimp, Chicken & Steak) which was great. I would suggest that appetizer for small groups. The food came out piping hot and all together which was good. The quality was there and I washed mine down with a nice cold Tecate. Definitely worth a try for anyone who likes a good Mexican restaurant.

I great place

By Step |

This was our first time going and I must say from the hostess to the server to the food runner and everyone in between were excellent. If you are a drinker then the drinks and the food was amazing. My family member and I gave this visit a ten out of ten. Even the general manager Michael was wonderful. Will definitely make another visit in the near future.

Great fresh food

By Carl C |

I was in town on business and my friend and I decided to stop in to Tacos & Tequila. I had the steak tacos and must say they were the best I've ever had. Everything was very fresh. Great taste, good fresh food and good service. On a sidenote my friend had fajitas and said they were the best he's ever had.

Disappointing

By ANP123 |

Ate here with my family this place is what every stereotypical Mexican Resturant in America is like except they have a much larger Menu. That is where the good ends - the service is spotty to bad, the food cold Nd the drinks weak. All in all you would be better eating at Willy's downstairs or finding Moes to save some cash.

Great Mexican Food and Tequila

By dencrocket |

This place has great Mexican food and a large variety of tequila. They bring you fresh tortilla chips and salsa to start with. The salsa here was one of the best I've ever had. I had the T & T Tacos, which was four different kinds tacos and they were great. Portions were large, I couldn't eat all my tacos, even though I tried. Waitress was attentive and very nice. Will definitely go back.

Best experience for a kids birthday

By ladydoc4271 |

We had arranged ahead of time to have a birthday party for my daughter this weekend. Our server, Gabriella, was more than excellent. Everything went off smoothly and we had a great time. The restaurant does everything to perfection. Highly recommend. And ask for Gabriella!

Gaven was awesome!!!

By Jillian S |

We had a business lunch at T and T and Gaven absolutely made our lunch an enjoyable experience. He is an excellent server and a lot of fun. If you go to tacos and tequilas ask for him!

Always great

By HairByCharles |

Very clean and friendly. We both had skillet burritos. It had rice, blackbeand, melted cheese, chicken, jalapenos and chip shreds. It was great.

Sick of the music...

By BNS |

We used to visit once a week as it was a great spot with great food and reasonable prices. New management has jacked menu prices and changed the environment completely. They blast loud (plus inappropriate) music to the point where I can not hear my partner talk in front of my face- he has to yell at me. If I wanted this type of environment, I would to a club. When I visit a Mexican restaurant, I expect a certain type of establishment and standard. We always love the waiters, and there are a few that recognize us and are fantastic at their jobs. A few also said that management had made "questionable" changes when we asked if the owners had changed recently. If you are a partier and don't care to hear what anyone is saying to you, this is your place. If you want to go on a date or meetup with family (or bring your children) and have a conversation without sounding hoarse afterwards, look elsewhere. Disappointing that we no longer enjoy visiting one of our (previously) favourite restaurants.

Easy In, Easy Out

By ttbryan1 |

I have been a here a few times and it never disappoints. The place is much larger inside than you would expect, which allows you to be immediately seated, no matter when you go. I went here with a friend for lunch one day during the week and we were promptly seated. They have a special lunch menu with great lunch specials. I started with a watermelon margarita, which was good. Then, I had lunch special #2 (not sure of the exact #), which was a large burrito with beans and rice. It was excellent. The service is especially good as you have many workers stop by your table constantly seeing if you need anything. Aside from the lunch menu, there is an extensive menu of other items to choose from. It is kinda loud and busy, so more of a place for a small group or family. The prices are reasonable, as well.

Water was ok

By Barry B |

What a bad meal. Margarita with orange juice???!!! From the beginning chips and salsa, thin chips from a bag and weak salsa from a can of tomatoes. Who thinks a margarita should be sweet as ice cream and with orange juice instead of lime juice??? The shrimp salad had a salad dressing that could have been used for pancakes, super sweet?? Service was slow and unresponsive, weak as the salsa.

Bad experience

By Elisa D |

I dont recommand this restaurant.it will be my first time and last time i went there The food was horrible.too salty, too cold.

meh

By EAdams16 |

not impressed with the food. ginger margarita was good (hold the hair, please) and service was good.

Greaaaaaat!

By PacificPorsche |

Very fun wind down atmosphere, friendly staff and the Texas margarita was strong and Excellent!!!! Thanks Joanna. Best wishes Tacos and Tequila!!!

Good food

By Galagirls |

The food here is good. We had enchilada plates. Salsa was yummy and spicy. The service was slow, it seems they were short staffed, but our server was very nice and made up by bring us a free round of sopapilla. You do have to climb a flight of stairs to get to it.

An uncontrolled “WOW” from my first byte

By Road_Warrior32034 |

This Mexican grill is on the corner of one of the vehicle entrances to Midtown Place Shopping Center and across from Ponce City Market on Ponce De Leon Avenue NE. It has a street-level entrance to a set of stairs to the dining/bar area. We were welcomed at the top of the stairs by their hostess, who led us to our booth. There are booth, table, bar and patio seating options. It is a nicely decorated bar/restaurant with a hint of a sports bar influence. Our drinks were ordered and delivered in a timely fashion. We enjoyed their chips with side orders of Pico de Gallo and Guacamole. Their menu is extensive and it took us a while to choose our entrées. When our food arrived, we were serenaded by the sizzle coming from my wife’s order Flame Steak Fajitas, which was served on a hot plate. It included pieces of a good steak which was cooked well and served with lots of additional toppings with three wraps. She is a light eater and brought most of her meal home to enjoy later. I couldn’t hold back a “WOW” at my first taste of my T&T Burrito Mariners, which was served with retried beans which were rather routine. My daughter also enjoyed her Chimi Rica with Brisket. Our traveling trio was satisfied with the service, delighted by the food and enjoyed the ambiance. By the end of our meal, our hunger had been obliterated and we went away very happy.

Friday night get together

By S D |

My co workers and I had a blast at the Ponce location. Our waitress Sarahy was fabulous. Our drinks and food came out in a timely manner for a party of 14. I love this resturant and plan to go back again. Hopefully Sarahy will be working because she is one of the best.

Wish I could recommend this place but . . . .

By Kit S |

When this place opened two blocks from our condo a few months ago (replacing a burger place that didn't make it), we had high hopes. The interior has been nicely re-done, with comfortable seats and high quality finishes. The patio is a nice feature in good weather, though traffic noise from nearby Ponce de Leon Avenue can be intense. The hosts and managers are attentive and anxious for customers to have a good experience -- they are trying. Unfortunately, the food is -- well -- mediocre. We've traveled to Mexico many times, and while we know we're not going to get the authentic cuisine we enjoy in cities like Merida, Puebla, and Oaxaca, we're disappointed when US restaurant operators spend a lot of money on lighting and decor and furnishings but pay so little attention to food quality and taste. We've visited T&T several times times since they opened, choosing specialty dishes such as the carnitas and chili poblano rellenos as well as more basic dishes like tacos and quesadillas. Alas, it all tastes much the same and is definitely not special or memeorable. Almost every dish comes with a huge glop of refried beans and rice on the side - very Tex-Mex rather than authentic Mexican. Everything is heavily salted, with few really spicy dishes and nothing particularly innovative. The margaritas are average, though the premium drinks are a little tastier. While the bar and dining areas are comfortable, be forewarned that noise levels can be horrendous if they have live music playing. On our most recent visit, there was a recorded music track accompanied by a singer (sort of like karaoke), amplified to the point that conversation was almost impossible. Many people were ignoring the music and just yelling to be heard, which made me feel sorry for the singer while also annoyed by the fact that he was there at all - I don't think this added anything to the dining experience. We will visit again in a month or so in hopes of seeing some improvements, but I'm not optimistic.

Just Ok...

By Cassandra P |

It was a spur of the moment thing to come here. Service was good. Food was just ok. I had a beer Michelada style. If you like Bloody Marys...try it. Wasn't bad.

Way too loud to enjoy

By mikki777 |

As the other most recent reviewer has said below... this place plays their music insanely loud. We actually asked them to turn it down a bit when someone asked if we were enjoying our meal. And they did a very tiny bit and it was still way too loud. Now this wasn't like a late night dance party or special event. This was Saturday lunch and you can't hear the person you're at the table with. We finally gave up talking. But even just trying to eat, it's not peaceful because your ears hurt. All three in our party felt that way. Then when the waitress was taking our order, one in our party couldn't hear her questions and ended up with the wrong order (more than she'd ordered... a 3 taco plate instead of 2.) We paid for it anyway. And we asked for drinks refilled 2x but didn't get them til it was about time to leave and done eating. So, I wouldn't eat here again. I will say the food was delicious. And even reasonable (like I had a taco salad that was wonderful for $8.50.) Their special cheese sauce was excellent. I would have asked for tomatoes to be on it (I was surprised they weren't) but no one was ever around to ask when it mattered. The others in our party also praised the food. So there's that. They do have a side patio. If I had it to do over again, I would have asked to sit out there. (It's inside but in a quieter area with more windows.)

Terrible service

By Allen Hammond |

Absolutely the worst greeting at check in that I've ever had in any restaurant anywhere. After being seated at a table and given menues by the unbelievably rude hostest I waited 15 minutes and no server ever appeared. Left for another restaurant.

Food was excellent (pollo

By Tom F |

Food was excellent (pollo ranchero and a skillet). Prices are very good for the area and amount of food served. The service was prompt and courteous. Definitely recommend this place!!

Great Food, but the service was incredibly slow on this day!

By mcchuck2014 |

We stopped here for Father's Day dinner. We had Steak Taco Salad, Carne Asada, Shrimp Tacos, Steak Fajitas, Chicken Tacos, Beef Tacos, Nachos Tejana Style (shrimp, steak & chicken). All of the food was excellent. Even their salsa is very good. However the service was not up to par. It was a slow day for them, only about 20-30 customers in the whole restaurant. Our server was nice and friendly, However, Food delivery was poor. Perhaps they were understaffed in the kitchen, but it took 25-30 minutes for the food to show up, and when it came, only 5 of the 7 of us were served. We had to remind them what our other two family members ordered. Since we were in no hurry, it was no big deal, but with the extra 8-10 minutes to get the final two dishes out, it took 35-40 minutes to get our food orders complete. We would come back, due to the quality of the food, but the service on this particular day was poor. Maybe they had a short staff due to Father's day, so we will give them another shot.

Great tacos

By gene s |

Went to tacos and tequila in the Pavilion Plaza in Naples. They were busy and we had to wait but it was worth it. Tried a few different tacos and they were all great. Our waitress Amy was terrific. Very cordial and professional. We will definitely go back.

Nice ambience

By delectabletreats |

I ordered the shrimp fajita with refried beans and rice. The shrimp were very fresh and the rice was delicious. The portions were huge for the price. It was a nice atmosphere inside, however the music was extremely loud. We started eating outside first but had to move inside because of huge water bugs. I would recommend this place and I will go back. Next time I will stay inside and eat.

Not bad!

By Scott S |

Several of my colleagues went for lunch, and we had a great time. The seafood burrito I had was pretty good. The service was really good too. And the prices were quite reasonable. I'll be going back for sure.

Best Mexican in Atl

By dwalker9679 |

This place is delicious! It is hard to see because it is a Mexican place on top of a Willy's. The inside of the place is so nice and pretty. The have a great outdoor eating area. The fajitas were amazing, and the margaritas were even better. I come to this place often because it is one of the best in Atlanta!

Slow Service....watered drinks and alright food

By DrAlias |

I had a classmate in town and we decided to check out this place since it was across the street from the Ponce City Market. The atmosphere appeared fun and great music, but the services was extremely slow. We had to ask twice for someone to take our orders. We ordered the Texas Margarita and the Ginger Margarita. Both was watered down. When our food arrived we could not eat because the waiter didn't bring any napkins or utensils. The food was hot and presentation was nice. I would not recommend this place for drinks or service.

Decent Food & Good Drink Specials & Large Tequila Selection

By Chia404 |

I've stuck mainly with the burritos and tacos and the Mero Mero is an excellent burrito. They have good drink specials throughout the week (cheaper margaritas, half priced drafts, etc) that make it a nice place to chill after work for a drink.

Worst food ever!

By Kaye Y |

Vegetables in fajita were not fully cooked, and chicken was filleted instead of in strips. Flour tortillas were not included in the order so had to eat filling with bread. Enchilada verdes had no green sauce, large chunks of chicken, and large pepper pieces inside. Chicken had no flavor. Beans had no flavor. Rice was salty. $40 down the drain.

Great place

By Simsjc |

This is a great place in down town. I had the Avocado taco's, they were amazing. The salsa tasted very fresh. The staff was very polite.

Conversation is impossible

By JLDCA |

On Saturday night had excellent Mexican food from an extensive menu. Very polite servers and good service. A live singer made it impossible to hear one another and when the singer took a break....loud music was played. Not sure why some restaurants think People go for the music. We wont be back on the weekend.

Music was jumping

By Stephanie M |

This was a great experience. The food was. I had the cheese dip with steak, shrimp and chicken and it was very goid. My friend had fish tacos and they were to die for. The drinks were good. I had a peach and strawberry margarita. The music was jumping and the atmosphere was popping. The only down side is that it's very small inside so it's like a traffic jam while u wait to be seated. Also if they seat u in the patio area it's extremely cold and they have no heater or heat out there which is where we were seated. I couldn't really enjoy my food like I wanted because I was freezing. Otherwise it was a cool spot.

Very Disappointed

By Andre P |

Decided to give this place a try while I was i the city visiting family. Located, for me, in a newly renovated and gentrified area of town, and all for the better from what I have seen. The shopping area provided ample parking with an easy walk to the restaurant. This establishment has an excellent vibe and the general atmosphere is very welcoming, and the staff were all great. However, the first thing we noticed was the temperature inside the establishment; it was uncomfortably hot. The service was about average with some long wait times between server appearances. The food was very average. I had the Lemon Fried Calamari and it was pretty good. However, the Crispy Shrimp Tacos lacked any distinctive taste outside the extra lime and guacamole I added after I tasted them. My wife had the Salmon , and according to her it was very dry, and the rice was overcooked. But, on the good side, the bar service was excellent. All things considered, not sure I feel the need to return to this establishment for anything other than drinks with friends or family.

Excellent job accommodating our large party

By Karley H |

We had a large party of about 14, the hostess was extremely accommodating & upfront with the expectations for getting us seated on a busy Saturday evening. A++ Our server did a fantastic job at handling our large table. Appetizers, Drinks, Food & our checks were all handled superbly, considering. We had a few people in our party that had to leave early and she was able to make sure they got their food & checks without delay. A+ The Menu section was broad and the food was OK. I did not like how Sour cream, jalapenos, etc were charged as "extras". I have never had to order sour cream as an extra item (and PAY for it) with my quesadilla... B- Although I did not order an alcoholic drink, many in our party did. The mojitos were a hit, they had numerous flavors to choose from which I think was fun for some who wanted to jazz things up.... the margaritas I was told were so-so. Water& sodas were refilled before we could ask - which we greatly appreciated. B+ Parking - YES- there is a parking lot! Sometimes you have to drive through the lot a little bit -but FREE parking ITP- WIN! Overall, I would recommend Tacos & Tequila. It was a good experience, cold drinks & tasty food. The staff made it all worth it & just for their stellar customer service I would return.

Excellent Food and Service

By Jeff K |

Yes, the Mexican food at this restaurant is excellent. Yes, the atmosphere is very good. What really sets this restaurant apart from its peers is the service. Whoever trains the staff for Tacos and Tequilas could start a wait staff training school. The hostesses and servers are friendly and attentive. The wait staff pay very good attention to your table and anticipate your needs without being intrusive. Even when the restaurant is busy as it is during the lunch rush, your wait person will cruise by your table at least 3 times and make sure your drink glass is full and you have what you need. They do this without interrupting the conversation at your table and without asking questions for which there is an obvious answer: water glass low means refill the glass without asking whether you would like more water. I know this may seem trivial but at busy restaurants it is becoming a lost art.

Manager and service was great food not so much

By MeetTheFitchs |

I came here with my fiancé for a quick date night and I like trying new restaurants so I was excited the name really pulled me in. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated and greeted with a baskets of chips and salsa and a happy and knowledgeable waitress. The food was served quickly but what I ordered (super vege burrito, chalupa and a hard taco) with the exception of the French fries everything was not good. The manager noticed my dissatisfaction and credited me for what I was unable to eat. My fiancé on the other hand enjoyed his food a chicken soft taco, quesadilla and fries. So my suggestions is to still visit the service is great and so are most of the foods enjoy....

Godo food, Good drinks, Good service!

By Stephanie K |

Mexican food is my fav and when a restaurant can come with the meaty cheesy goodness it’s a winner in my book! I have the Fajita Quesadilla Tejanas (chicken shrimp and steak peppers onions in a quesadilla) It was delicious and cheesy. A big portion... They had great drinks..huge glasses. I tried the sangarita and the mango margarita. I definitely would go back and since it was my first time I got free dessert. Sit on the patio.

Sarahy is the best!

By Jessica J |

Tacos and Tequilas is one of our favorite places to eat. The last few times I've been with some friends, Sarahy has been our waitress and so kind. She's always SO good at keeping our drinks filled without us even having to ask. She makes sure to check on our table multiple times throughout our meal and we always leave so satisfied! Tacos and Tequilas is great because of her! :)

Good upscale mexican

By John C |

I really enjoyed my visit to T&T. We had our usual. My wife always gets Taquitos and I always get some a la carte taco dish. We were both very satisfied. The shrimp tacos were the very best I have ever had ANYWHERE! The beef street tacos were pretty good too. They need some kind of sauce.

Loud!!!!

By EmmaHersh |

Went here for a Friday night dinner. The place is nicely set out with a good patio and nice low lighting across the bar. Drinks selection is pretty good - we have been here several times and I have to say that Ive found the service to be hit and miss. The food is pretty good and the margaritas are ok. My word of warning though is that this place is LOUD on a Friday night. They have live music in the bar area, I suppose to try and give it an authentic Mexican flair, but its really not necessary in a restaurant, would be more appropriate in a bar or night club. So I ended up not talking much to my partner and yelling the order at the server so he could hear me. The end result is that everyone else is doing the same thing, yelling to be heard over the music, so the decibel level is rather high. I would suggest this place more for work groups or a girls/boys night out. If you are looking for dinner and conversation, or a place to go on a first date, this probably isnt it.

Sub par and so much better around

By William T |

I’m in my 6th decade of eating and think I’ve developed my palate, at least a little. Tacos & Tequilas is for those who haven’t. My visit started with the usual basket of chips, more broken bits and pieces than anything. They had a sweet taste that had me wondering if there was sugar in them. The menu is a typical Mexican menu with a burrito section, a taco section, an enchilada section and a Mexican specials section. I settled on the brisket burrito with cheese sauce that came with rice and beans. The cheese sauce was thin and looked like a glaze that had been painted on. It was nothing special and a little on the small side, I thought. I ordered a small draft beer and the server tried to up sell me to a 32oz. Nice try, but no thanks. He brought it anyway, without charging me. Was it because this was my first time and he was trying to impress me? I hate seeing good beer go to waste. While I didn’t order one, I also received a complimentary dessert, a few triangles of fried tortilla shells dusted with cinnamon and whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate. Oddly, the chips tasted salty. It all struck me as trying too hard, as if they needed to distract me from the mediocre food. Service was earnest but inattentive. When the food runner dropped off my food, I asked for extra napkins. They never arrived and the next time anyone came by my table was 15 minutes after I’d finished my meal. And I can’t even begin to explain the odd combination of Muzak, a live singer and canned percussion all at the same time. Overall, I thought prices were a little steep for what I got. If I lived a few blocks closer and we were in the middle of a snow storm and nothing else was open I might go back. But I’d probably just go to Krispy Kreme and gorge on doughnuts instead.

Very Good Mexican Food

By Brad A |

Ate here for lunch recently. We were one of the first groups in the restaurant for lunch. the staff couldn't have been nicer and helpful with the menu. I had a couple of street tacos that were spicy and tasty. My business associate had a salad and was very pleased. I will be back to eat here again. Great food, look forward to trying their tequilas.

Good food, but it was a little loud

By Samantha B |

The food and service was great. you get an excellent size portions for a decent price. The server was very attentive. We chose to sig outside because it was quite noisy inside. It was also noisy outside but not as bad as it was inside, we were still able to carry on a conversation.

Great Find

By 23DawnR |

While in the city on business I stumbled across this restaurant and enjoyed a late lunch. The food was great! I especially enjoyed the salsa that was served with home-made chips while waiting for my meal. The sangria was super and I'm sorry I didn't have time to enjoy more...

Very Pleasant Experience - Good Food!

By offislandgirl |

This was our first visit to this establishment - and we're glad we chose wisely. The atmosphere was interesting and fun to look at. The spouse & I were seated on the very nice deck right away. Our excellent, attentive server, "Ivan", answered all questions that we had regarding menu choices and made recommendations based on those questions. The result was a really good meal with drinks. The chips were nice & crispy. The salsa could have used a bit more bite but was still good. I had a strawberry margarita (frozen) - so yummy. My entre was 2 hard tacos (1 shrimp & 1 brisket) with rice, beans & a side of guacamole. The spouse had the "Cinco de Mayo" special margarita. That was so good, he had to have a 2nd. His entre was the Taquitos Tradicionales: 3 rolled corn tortillas filled with seasoned shredded brisket, salsa verde, shredded lettuce, cheese dip, shredded cheese & pico de gallo with rice & beans. His meal was not spicy enough for him; so he ordered a side of jalepenos, but noted that they didn't have much kick either. Please note that "spicy enough" for him is way too spicy for me or the average person. Throughout the meal, Ivan checked on us to ensure that we were happy - and we definitely were; after which he presented us with a pleasant little surprise of desert: fried, slightly sweetened tortilla slices dusted with cinnamon and topped with whipped cream and a cherry. The only reason that I rated this eatery with a 4 instead of a 5 is that the chairs were slightly uncomfortable, and it was very noisy for us. I don't think it is a place where you would want to have a business meeting or serious conversation due to the noise factor. Other than that, we will happily return and bring guests next time.

Quality food and good service

By Elizabeth M |

We love this neighborhood restaurant. The food is good, with choices far beyond you typical order by number Mexican menu. I always get the skinny tacos and skinny margarita - so yummy! Good place for large groups and covered patios during the summer. Can get a little loud sometimes, but Food is always good and consistent, and the service is prompt and friendly. Managers always come by to check on the table. Muy bueno!!

Good food but a little pricey.

By Lawrence M |

Food was good, a bit pricey for the portions you receive but that was to be expected on that side of town. Didn't get to try any alcohol but the selection was very large. The salsa was different but good.

Disappointing

By Hawkeyegirl2 |

We went to Tacos and Tequilas for lunch with our children. It was not a pleasant experience. We arrived and it was late afternoon and there were not many guests at the restaurant. There were 6 of us (4 of which were teenagers) and we asked if they could sit together and my husband and I could be at a separate table. You would have thought I had asked for the moon by the attitude the hostess gave us. She finally sat us and kept the disgruntled look on her face. We waited a good 15 min. before anyone waited on us. We ordered a queso which took over 20 minutes to come, apparently the order was placed incorrectly. We also ordered two beers at the same time as the queso which also took a good 20 minutes to be brought to us. The teenagers who ordered quesadillas and a salad took over 45 minutes. The teenager barely ate their food as they didn't find it good. Needless to say we could never get our waitresses attention or any other for that matter. Once the queso was finally brought to us, we ordered 2 more beers, knowing they were going to take awhile. Those beers never arrived and the queso was average. It's too bad the experience was so bad as I can't recommend this place. No apologies or anything. They are lucky they are across from Ponce City Market otherwise they may never get return business if others are treated as we were.

Authentic Mexican

By Corey S |

Not only is the restaurant beautiful the food is very authentic! Our favorite dish is the taco combination of chicken, shrimp and steak. You can never go wrong! The restaurant also has great margaritas especially the pomegranate! If you want Mexican with a city feel this is the place to be!

Very good

By HairByCharles |

Great place to eat. Service is amazing and waitress has only been here for a week. Rachael is her name. Anything we needed and it was here. I watched her wait on other tables and same type of service. Not expensive and very good.

Great Service

By Kevin J |

I have visited this place a few times, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a south of the border feel. Between the great food, spectacular service, and live music, this restaurant provides the perfect atmosphere to enjoy an evening meal. If you want remarkably attentive service, I recommend the waitress Alessandra. Cheers!

GREAT FOOD IN BUCKHEAD / ATLANTA !

By Russell N |

W e have been going to TACOS & TEQUILLAS since they opened last year ! We live in the area so it's easy to stop by ! We have seen this neighbor restaurant get better and better as it grows. and we have enjoyed many a great meal there . Some of the items we like are the TEXAS FAJITAS, SEAFOOD TOSTADAS, FLAUTAS , LIME FRIED CALAMARI , ENCHILADAS VERDES and the CHIMICHANGAS and make sure you save room for their very creative DESERTS !..... THEY ARE OPEN FOR A QUICK LUNCH OR A NICE DINNER OR AT THE BAR WITH A COUPLE OFMARGARITAS !.... ENJOY !..... CHEER'S !

Your milage may vary...

By DrBeenThere |

Nice venue and attentive staff across from the old Sears building. The 20oz house Margarita is a standard Margarita with more ice. Skip the Chipotle Shrimp which comes with a handful of grilled to tough shrimp and inedible asparagus with a small blob of rice in a nice Chipotle sauce.

ZACK WAS THE BEST

By Shaterria D |

If you go to this establishment and want to ensure you enjoy the experience request Zack. He is very outgoing and also a great waiter. He made my experience 10xs better. I will definitely be going back when I am not on the clock, so I can enjoy the drinks... Thanks Zack for everything!!

3 Strikes and You're Out T&T

By fyrewede2 |

I have tried eating at Tacos and Tequilas 3 times over the course of the last 3 years, and Every. Single. Time. the service has been indifferent and the food has been flat out *terrible*. Veggie burrito? Greasy, bland, and swimming in melted cheese. Taco salad? Stale shell, flavorless dressing, and wilted lettuce...and gooey chunks of something I couldn't recognize -- I *hope* it was cheese, but it was hard to tell for sure. And who puts *bacon bits* on a Mexican salad? As for the service, we had to ask repeatedly for more chips and salsa and a different salad dressing. The manager sauntered by our table at one point and asked "Everything okay for you folks?" and before I could even get the first word out of my mouth, he had moved on. Clearly he wasn't actually interested in getting an answer to that question. Never. Ever. EVER again will I eat at this abysmal excuse for a Mexican restaurant, especially when there's a Willy's right up the road that always has fresh, perfectly prepared food served at a lower price, and Jalisco just a few miles down the road where the food is not only perfectly prepared but delightfully authentic and served with speed, courtesy, and a concern for consistent high quality.

great TexMex place in the heart of MidTown, next to Beltline East

By Tmh1709 |

Excellent food, very affordable, lovely wait-staff - what more can one ask for. I am totally addicted to their Tacitos Traditionales with beef brisket. Hm Hm Hm! Love to swing by for a quick lunch, or to enjoy a mild evening on their terrace. Inside it is too loud for me, and I hate all the TVs all over the place. But on the terrace you can still get a seat where you're not harassed by the constant, boring, meaningless sports drone... Did I mention I don't like TV? ;) I do love their food, though!

Overpriced, with tasteless TINY portions

By Loretta H |

This review is for the food truck in Roswell May 24……….absolutely pathetic food & a complete ripoff. Food was VERY OVERPRICED. Two tiny tacos, almost no fillings, with tasteless rice & beans…….I paid extra for cheese & pico……….these TINY tacos with almost no fillings were provided …….highway robbery…….DO NOT hire this food truck

my server was amazing!

By Syd S |

The food was great, drinks are delicious, and service was everything I could have wanted and more. The food was fresh and the atmosphere is exciting, great for going out to eat and wanting to watch the game. My server was always there when I needed her, if you go to eat and you want some excellent service, ask for Paola. Polite, friendly, and helpful.

Gaven Rocks!

I had the skinny fish tacos and a Texas margarita. Everything was perfect and Gaven was totally on the ball. Food was served in a timely manner and drinks were of good quality!

Good Atmosphere, Friendly Service, Average Mexican Food....

By pparrothead |

I recently ate at this Tacos and Tequila location while on a business trip to Atlanta. The restaurant was close to where I stayed and since the weekend I was in town it was extremely cold, I decided to give them a try. The inside of this restaurant was very nice and inviting. It is situated on two floors so when you walk in the lobby welcomes you with Mexican statues and decor. My server was Margaux and she was very friendly, polite, helpful, and just nice to have as a server. I ordered Combo #9 which was a Burrito and Enchilada with chicken and rice and refried beans. The rice and beans were very tasty but the chicken in both the burrito and enchilada was very dry. Dry to the point of having to take a sip of water after every bite. They do have a extensive selection of Tequilas for those of us who are connoisseurs.... One good thing was that a host, manager, and even other servers would walk by and make sure you were doing ok. It was nice to see the interaction by them with their customers. All in all the meal was ok. I just wished it was not cooked so well....Tacos and Tequila is still worth a visit.

Great Service! Ask for Zach!

By Nigel A |

I frequent this place often, because I live in the area and have always had a pleasant experience. Never have I thought to write a review on this place, because I always expect great service from my eating establishments, that was until I had Zach as my server. Zach is nothing short of exceptional and I would recommend him to any guest planning on visiting this place. He addresses all of his customer's by name and always makes sure you are receiving nothing but the best of service. Zach is arguably one of the best waiters I've ever had and will only ask for him in the future.

Very good, but

Very good food, but sometimes it's very loud when they're busy...but I know that's not their fault. Salsa good, everything good...their T&T burrito is my favorite

Excellent date night location

By Carrington H |

We had an excellent time the food was delicious and the service was superb!! If you decide to indulge at this restaurant I recommend the server Daniel! For all of the fellas out there two entrées plus desert came out to $26!

Awesome atmosphere, food & drinks!

By Marriott_Plat_GSP |

This is one of my favorite mexican restaurants east of the Mississippi. It is THE place in Buckhead for mexican food. The atmosphere is so much fun on weekend evenings with live music instead of cheesy CD's. The servers are awesome and the margaretta's are strong + made in-house with no premade mixers. Even the chips, salsa & queso are delicious!!

OMG!

By Marianne R |

The BEST margaritas EVER. The food was delicious as well. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday afternoon on National Margarita Day. I would go back to Atlanta just for these margaritas-they were that good!

Highly recommended, cannot see why!

By DPUSA |

The restaurant had come highly recommended from friends; however when we went the food was mediocre. Our gaucamole lacked any real seasoning and tasted bland. My steak was also bland, and had no salt or seasoning on it (tampiquena) and tasted like it had been boiled and put over a grill. Really disappointing.

neighborhood mexican

By glennroymd |

In a mix with other restaurants, this one is the most accessible. It has the staff suggesting to you what you would want to eat. Ambiance just right, not so noisy; nachos were light and warm. Salsa is terrific. Service is quick, attentive. Food is priced just right and tasty.Space is kinda tight.

Worst Service Ever

By Sam |

Me and a few friends visited this restaurant with hopes of a great experience just to be let down tremendously. The service was absolutely awful. The servers are extremely rude. They do not value customers at this restaurant. My friends and I ordered drinks when we first got there and didn’t receive them until after we had already finished our food. Our server did not check on us at all. The only time we saw him was when we first got there to place our orders. My friends and I asked to speak with a manger, and that made the experience even worse. The gentleman who said he was the manager spoke to us in a very disrespectful invalidating tone after we expressed our dissatisfaction with our food and service experience at this restaurant. If I could’ve given this place 0 stars I would’ve. The concept of Tacos and Tequila is great, but to better drive out this concept new servers and management need to be put into place ASAP.

Great experience!

By fionakitty |

My husband and I came here recently for dinner. The food was excellent, I had the chimichanga and he had a burrito. The portions were large and delicious! Service was great all night, we never had to wait for a drink refill or flag a server down. When the check came, the price for everything was very reasonable. As we were reviewing our bill, the restaurant manager came over and said since it was our first visit, he was giving us a free dessert! The dessert was as delicious as the rest of the meal, being fried tortillas in a sweet buttery sauce with whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top. So good! We will absolutely be coming to Tacos & Tequilas again!

BAD SERVICE!

By corey541 |

I decided to go back here with a few friends and I was shocked! The quality of service has greatly decreased! The manager and bartenders were walking around eating food in front of customers. I witnessed two bartenders eating food then making drinks without washing their hands. It was the worst experience ever! The owners need to regroup before customers decide not to come there anymore. I won't be back.

Great Tacos!

Gavin did great! His attitude was awesome. Tequila and Friday night are perfect together and we will definitely find ourselves here again.

Tacos & Tequillas

By 1TrippyTraveler |

Tacos & Tequillas in Chastain Square has good Mexican food; however, the service is tad slow for large groups. They do give you large portions so if you don't mind waiting, this is a good place to get some food. I recommend the talapia and shrimp enchiladas or entree. The fajitas are large enough to feed 2 adults. They have corn, and wheat tortillas. This wold be a better than average restaurant if the they can speed up the service.

Great Food and Atmosphere!

By corey541 |

On my first visit, I was very pleased with the atmosphere! We were greeted promptly and received great service at the bar. The food and drinks are amazing! This will be a regular spot from now on. You have to try this restaurant!
