We revisited Taki's since they moved from 15th Ave NW to the corner of 85th and 15th. The food is as good as ever and the new digs are MUCH better, more open and an all-around pleasant atmosphere. What an upgrade! The food has been and still is my favorite Greek in all of Seattle. The Souvlaki dinner plate last me 3 meals and the price is very fair for the quality and amount you get. Maybe the best deal in all of Seattle. Great experience. Love!!

I've been trying more Greek restaurants lately and this surprise is close to my home. I've missed the music and dancing so far, but it's the food that brings me back anyway. You get good value for the money. Unless you're disciplined you will leave full. The food is excellent, both lamb and chicken, prepared from scratch and well flavored without being over seasoned. My friend and I tried both the baklava and the rice pudding. I will eat less the next time to leave more room for dessert, they are both excellent variations on a post dinner sweet.

As a young child growing up in Chicago area many Sundays after church we would eat at a Greek restaurant downtown. I miss it but Taki's reminds me of that place. Excellent Gyros which they order from Chicago! Our lunch experience there was wonderful. Food came right away and wine selection is also great.

It's a bit off the beaten path, but this place offers some great inexpensive Greek food in a homey atmosphere. We had the Falafel and Veggie platters. Both excellent, as was the nice Greek white wine we had too. Great value. Nice neighborhood Greek place in the Crown Hill / Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.

A very fun hidden Greek Restaurant. If you like live music go in Saturday night to hear the Greek classics. The restaurant is small so be sure to make a reservation. Parking can be had on both sides of the restaurant. The food is good but Service can be slow if it's busy.

I have been to a few Greek restaurants. I was so excited and did a lot of research before I made the decision to have my Mothers birthday here. Here sister was a belly dancer at a Greek restaurant before she past away and I wanted for her to have this experience knowing that it would bring back memories. I was a little disappointed. I expected an intimate setting, lively and loud! It was to bright, the belly dancer only danced one song, and she wasn't very engaging. The food though was AMAZING! The waiter was so-so. The food I would give a 4, but my overall experience was less thrilling. I wont be traveling that far (I'm from Tacoma) to go back, but my Mom had a great time and that's all that mattered.

We had a nice dinner of small servings. The falafel was the best either of us had ever had. It had good flavor, and wasn't too dry. Looked like there was going to be music later, too, which we did not stay for.

Taki's is a very small quite hidden restaurant in northern Seattle. The food is excellent Greek and plenty of it. Very friendly staff. Out of area visitors might have a bit of trouble finding the restaurant. The interior is very plain -- not fine dining tables. but you go here for the food not table setting. Saturday night is live music and belly dancing so reservations are required. Other nights have not been a problem getting a table on a drop in basis. Well worth a visit if you like Greek.

We frequently go to Taki's and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious, and the service is fast and friendly. We recently decided to celebrate my husband's birthday here with friends. Taki overheard the birthday congrats and stepped from the kitchen to entertain us with one of his many Greek guitars and singing. If you go for Saturday dinner, you can get hours of wonderful entertainment from Taki and his musical friends. Food and music the best!

If you are looking for a genorous portion of authentic Greek deliciousness, go to Takis. By far the best gyro I have found in Seattle with a heaping pile of lamb meat and tadziki sauce. This is not a fancy restaurant, more of a hidden gem.

My wife and I always say we should come more often but rumors of a lost lease (delightfully FALSE!!!) lured us in last weekend after too long an absence. As usual the greeting was great, the food terrific and the wine exceptional. This is a place where folks talk to each other at nearby tables, the chef comes out for visits and extra baklava is on the house. I'm trying to remember where I have had better lamb chops, or so reasonably priced, but no one beats Taki's Relieved that this neighborhood institution is safe from the developers, we still plan a return trip very soon! And for Saturday night music and dancing ..,

My husband was craving Greek food, so we decided to try a new restaurant, Takis' Mad Greek. Arrived early evening and there was only one other patron waiting for her meal which slightly worried us. One of the owners, Kiki, who is very friendly and personable, immediately waited on us to give us the specials. Both my husband and I ordered the Greek ribeye which came with a salad and rice or potatoes. We were curious about the wine selection, so she brought out 5 different bottles of wine and we tasted a little from all. They carry only Greek wine. We picked one which we liked very much...sorry, I can't remember the name. We both had the horiatiki salad which was fresh, delicious, not too much vinegar and just the right amount, not huge. We also ordered a dip sampler which included hummus, baba ghanoush, taramasalata, skordalia and a red pepper dip with pita. Very good. When the steaks arrived at our table we were both taken aback at the size. They were huge, but not only that, sooooo delicious! Our entire dining experience at Takis' was amazing! The restaurant is not fancy, just a casual place, but friendly and inviting. The food is fresh, flavorful, cooked perfectly and we hear that Saturday nights are packed with people there to enjoy the live music performed by Taki himself. This is going to be a new favorite place for my husband and I.

A group of friends and I went out last night to try this restaurant located here in Seattle, and We ALL enjoyed the various dishes we ordered. As a group we go out and visit a different restaurant each month and this is now one of our favorite restaurants.

This place was recommended to us by a friend. We were there for lunch at about 3 pm on Saturday. I like most Greek foods and most Greek restaurants although Greek friends have told us in the past there are no good ones in Seattle. You have to go to Vancouver BC for that. We were both pleased with the quality and quantity of the food. I had a chicken souvlaki and my husband had a lamb souvlaki. This place roasts their own chicken and it makes all the difference. Other places use chicken pieces out of a package that have been frozen. My husband also ordered the stuffed grape leaves and a potato garlic hummus spread that was tasty. I also had a bowl of the lemon soup. It was very good and filling. It comes in medium and large bowls. I would suggest they also offer cups. The sandwiches were overflowing. They were very good but too much to finish. We took our leftovers home. We still saved room for dessert. My husband had a goody with toasted shredded filo on top and I had a baklava. It was a good size piece and not the tiny slivers that other restaurants serve at nearly double the price. The restaurant was clean and not at all grungy as described by another reviewed. This is a family owned restaurant. The owner is the cook and his son was the server. The son was very attentive and conversational. We were too early for their Saturday evening Greek music and dancers. I can imagine it is a lively place on Saturday nights. One wall was covered with framed photographs of Taki's family going back to his grandfather. They also serve their grandmother's recipe for rice pudding, which is hard to find around here. Several people came in to pick up to go orders while we were there. One was a Girl Scout leader whose girls were studying Greece. I think the girls will have a good introduction to Greek food from Taki's. In short, the food and service were very good and I would highly recommend it for authentic Greek food in Seattle.

Over the past year, we have enjoyed getting take-out from this restaurant many times. I must admit that we have not tried many things on their menu. It is not because they do not sound appealing. It is because the things that we order are so delicious, we are compelled to get them again! First - their lamb is cooked to perfection. It is so tender and flavorful. Here is what we order: Lamb Souvlaki entree, Gyro, Chicken Souvlaki pita sandwich, Lamb Souvlaki pita sandwich. Those sandwiches have a generous amount of meat. Their tzatziki sauce has the perfect ratio of sauce and dill. We usually order a side of extra tzatziki. As for dessert, we do enjoy their baklava - just the right amount of sweetness. The last time that we had take out, we also tried another dessert. I do not know the name of it. It seemed to be phyllo wrapped around a pudding-like mixture, in a roll shape, with a light syrup drizzled on it. We would love to have that again also. We are so glad that they have been able to make it through this difficult time and look forward to going there and trying some of their other menu items.

We went to Takis on a day when he was out of town and there was no live music. I hear that the place is exceptionally crowded on a typical Saturday, but it was not on this night. We shared the sampler appetizer platter with various dips and pita. We liked all, except the Baba Ganouj (sp?). I had the gyros platter and my husband had the mixed grill. The portions were large enough that we brought home leftovers that we and our teen son had with salad the next day and my husband took the remainder to work for lunch the day after that! It was all good. I would not say it was exceptional, but definitely delicious. The waitress was attentive, albeit a bit abrupt. She was really helpful. The food was delivered quickly, but then we were the first customers of the night.

Situated on in 15th Ave is Takis Mad Greek Restaurant. An unremarkable Restaurant with mediocre Greek Food. Price are a little high but portions are generous. I have had better and worse.

Went with my wife and daughter. My wife is from North Carolina. Melanie, our waitress was from South Carolina and the two reminisced about their Southern experiences. We started with some salads. My wife had an excellent green salad while my daughter and I had horiatiki with feta, cucumbers, peppers and a nice olive dressing. Just great. My wife and daughter had the lemon chicken soup which they loved. Our meals consisted of moussaka, kalimari, and souvlaki. The kalamari came with skordalia, a little potato dish that complemented the kalamari. Lots of food so we had plenty to take home and enjoy the next day. Even cold, the leftovers were very tasty. Will do it again when next in Seattle.

I had the recommended Greek entree with beef, lamb and chicken skewers along with the special salad. My brother had the lamb and hummus with the greek bread. Long history of this family serving the Ballard area with excellent food and music.

I have been enjoying Taki's authentic and delicious Greek food for years. Some of my favorite meals are the Mad Greek Special, with flavor rich skewers of beef, pork, and chicken, and the hearty moussaka. Everything is freshly made on site. Lately I've been enjoying their nicely flavored gyros along with a delicious and generous slice of baklava. And the service is always friendly with the hostess offering great advice on what you might want to try to expand your Greek food dining experience. Great food and great service, all in all a great neighborhood restaurant.

Great food and service! Pleasant server and freshly cooked meals were out quickly. The kids even ate their food. :) Felt like a small town atmosphere, which is perfect for this Southern girl. Delish; recommend!

A modest restaurant, the best Greek food in town at reasonable prices, Greek vines, live music on the weekends, belly dancers, great special occasion (like Valentine's) partying, with some Greek dancing, limited by lack of space. We've eaten there lunch and dinner several times and never been disappointed.

If you really like Greek food and you're willing to put up with a little bit of that stinky feeling...this place is great....and so is the price. Just don't go for the atmosphere. BUT THEY HAVE GREAT genuine Greek food. Good service too. The lamb is especially good. Take out is also available.

Had the gyros and calimari. Both were excellent. Small but quaint. Less than a block from where we were staying. Will be back on my next trip.

Going to Taki's is always a pleasure. We think we will just go for appetizers and a glass of wine. And then there are the specials, the smells of roasted meats and oregano drenched Greek potatoes, and the friendly waitress generously pouring samples of new wines. And we have a wonderful meal. The regulars come and go greeting the staff, picking up take out and we always linger. And if you wander in on a Saturday night the live music is a delight (but too loud to talk over unless you are way up front) and the dancing fun too. Highly recommended!

We decided to try this place for takeout back in June, as most places were not yet open for dining. We LOVE Greek and MiddleEastern food and were looking forward to this meal. First, the people that work there are just LOVELY. They were so nice on the phone, as well as when we picked up our food. There was hand sanitizer available, and they wore masks. However, the food was just ok. Sorry, Taki's. I had the moussaka, and it just did not make the cut for me. I felt like it needed a little more flavor. I'm guessing there are many ways to make this dish, depending on what part of Greece you are from. My family members had Gyros, and they liked them. But they all agreed we had had better Greek cuisine in other places. Oh well. I wish Taki's the best. This place is just not for us.

Awesome Greek food and belly dancing with live music on special weekends! Try the Gyros platter and the Calamari dinner! Moussaka is my wife's favorite, and Taki's Mad Greek Special is a delicious combination of lamb, pork, and chicken souvlaki kebabs. Check out the photo menu on their website, you won't be sorry!
Exceptional Greek Cuisine
Fresh, homemade Greek food. Everything we've tried is delicious!
