Clean and tasty

By Chefcpb |

I had the vegetarian plate and rice. The eggplant, humus and baba ghanoush were all delicious. I didn't care for the grape leaf, tabouli or ezme (pepper and tomato combo). Bread was doughy, but the rice was good.

Best lamb chops in NYC hands down amazing Turkish food. Really authentic piece of turkish cuisine in Brooklyn for good price

Good value easy food

This restaurant is next-door to the Best western and is a good, fast and inexpensive option to have turkish food. Overall a nice, good quality and fast option.

Surprisingly fresh and tasty

By PortsmouthJola |

We've eaten here twice. The food is fresh and tasty. This is really a take out restaurant with a few tables. Staff is friendly and helpful. I've never eaten Turkish food before so can't compare...but the salad was fresh with chopped greens...not iceberg lettuce and a light dressing. I had the salmon and it was fresh tasting. The serve a roll on the side that was also fresh each time we ate there. And the have a white rice on the side that was better than average. Considering this neighborhood where this neighborhood that doesn't have much to offer in terms of restaurants this was a welcome venue for us.

Excellent food, attention effective but not too nice

By DanArg01 |

The place is simple and small but clean, it's self service. The food is excellent, we had grilled salmon and shish kebab, each accompanled by salad and rice. Complimentary water is scarce but beverages are just $1 a can or bottle. We had to wait about 10 minutes which is reasonable time. They don't make an effort to be nice but we were satisfied. To be recommended.

Protein

Everything is fresh, raw until placed on the grill. Salads and sides are extremely tasty and delicate. Highly recommended in a foodie deficient neighborhood. Ask for the Turkish pita. It's just a simple bread but remarkably tasty.

Clean, fresh, affordable food! Had the salmon shish-kabob and it was the excellent . It came with a salad, rice and wonderful warm roll. Wish I had discovered it before our last day in Brooklyn!

Tasty falafel and homemade Turkish bread still warm from the oven

By mharrsch |

I had spent a very fulfilling but exhausting day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art so when I got back to my hotel in Brooklyn I was too tired to go far for dinner. So I decided to try out the little Turkish restaurant right across the street from my hotel. I was warmly greeted and after looking over a variety of delicious-sounding items I decided on a a small plate of freshly prepared falafel served with hummus, salad with tahini dressing on the side and homemade Turkish bread. It was brought to me really quickly and everything was very flavorful. The bread was even still warm from the oven. The meal was filling and the casual atmosphere a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of downtown Manhattan.

Great food

The food was very good at this small restaurant right next door to the Best Western hotel; it was recommended by Caitlin, and we were glad we followed her advice. Great food!

Good but small portions for your money

By bjtdet |

The Middle Eastern food was good but it seemed the portions were small for the amount it cost. The restaurant is not fancy but one can dine in. We chose carry out.

Good food at a moderate price.

Very clean, modest locale but comfortable, open kitchen, tasty and fresh food, ample choices, mediterranean, modest prices, family-owned, great service.

Great food

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Hotel right next-door to this restaurant. Our order was cooked as we waited and found everything to be excellent. The restaurant has only been opened a short time and they are doing a great job.

Shish chicken and lamb.

By JunkMan024 |

Fresh and cooked on the spot. High quality menu that is needed in the area. Prices are above average but quality gets expensive.

Fresh & Tasty

Quality ingredients cooked to order on the spot. Tables and dining area can get cramped. Menu seems intimidating but counter service are willing to help.

Good Turkish lunch for cheap

By Harris G |

Very good lunch special. Rice choice of meat (I got lamb kebab) soup and soda with Turkish bread only 10.99 plus tax.

Convenient, Clean, and Tasty

By Two-Baby-Boomers |

It was right across the street from our hotel, and ultra convenient. I like the fact that it is Halal. Everything is squeaky clean, and the ample portions will satisfy your hunger. Price-wise, it is a good value. You order at the counter. Seating is limited, so we elected to take out. We each ordered one dish, and were more than satisfied. For its category, this is quite good.

Had Dessert to go from here

By Dexter B |

We were staying right across the street at the Best Western and decided to have some dessert. I seen Taksim from my window in the hotel and figured it would be fun to check it out. We ordered Rice Pudding and Baklava. I found the Baklava not as tasty as Greek Baklava. But it was okay. The Rice Pudding was really good. I only seen a few things left over as far as the main meals go, as they were getting ready to close, but it looked good. The service was friendly enough, especially since we came in as they were cleaning up to close soon.

Turkish food

By Lars & Rebecca |

This small place serves freshly cook turkish food. You can have all the classics. Service friendly. Price reasonable. Food tasty.

Convenient

By Barbara V |

This is a very low key place. Walk in, go to the counter, and place your order. There are four tables. The food arrives on a tray with plastic utensils and disposable plates & cups. Our food was quite good but the ambiance was totally lacking. They offer no alcoholic beverages. Cans of soda are available.

Fresh and Delicious Turkish in a hole in the wall spot

By SaprissAmericano |

In a neighborhood known for auto body shops, warehouses and a federal jail, this tiny hole in the wall serves up some seriously delicious, super fresh, Turkish food like lentil soup, lamb and chicken kebobs, gyros, lamb chops, various salads, hummus, babbaganoush, etc. Very inexpensive but good quality. Had lunch there today and will definately be going back.

Brooklyn's finest

By MikeyPup |

Got the tip to try this place from someone at Dunkin Donuts. Great little Turkish/Mediterranean place, food was brilliant, the owners were both lovely people, place was clean, very reasonable prices.Try the baked rice pudding!

Yummy

By Marsha W |

It is a Turkish restaurant, something I have never been to before, but will again! Food was fresh and oh so good. I had the lamb chops. It came with a small salad and rice. Eat in or take out. I took it back to my room after a long day.

Nice casual place

By cgl853 |

Recommended by our hotel receptionist. Small, casual place with a menu of lamb, salmon, and chicken dishes. Nothing fancy, but the food was very good and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Lunch

By Crista P |

Great food at a very reasonable price. $8.50 for a large lunch special. Would go,there again for a quick meal.

Big portions, good $10.99

By David B |

Big portions, good $10.99 lunch special, tasty. No decor but the guys speaking Russian, Spanish & Arabic at the other tables demonstrate the multi-cultural attraction of this corner restaurant. 1 block from 25th St subway stop.

Good value for money..

By AnkitSaini |

was staying at Best western across the road from here. Was feeling lazy one evening so got dineer packed from here. I had lamb shish kebab and a falafel roll. Bill was around 12 dollars..was quite a meal at that price. Open kitchen , fresh ingredients, good taste...

Average food, but very quick delivary

By Badb88 |

I had a delivery order from Taksim 2, they were very quick which was very nice. The food was good, but didn't really impress me. I cannot say anything bad, nor any really good. I your hungry and need it quick this is a great place.

Tiny hole-in-the-wall; great food!

By joanwOttawa_Ontario |

I stumbled upon this Turkish restaurant while staying in Brooklyn. Without a recommendation, you may easily walk right by this place as it is tiny and rather unremarkable looking. However, for a really tasty treat, walk in! Their grilled chicken salad is terrific with a simple, lemony dressing. Their platters of lamb, chicken or beef skewers are served with rice and salad and are delicious and filling. They have a lemony chicken soup and a lentil soup that are both very good. It is truly a take-out place but there are a few tables should you want to eat in. As it was located a few doors down from my hotel, I had an opportunity to eat there several times and was never disappointed. The prices are entirely reasonable and the food very good.

Good food, value and location

By kam l |

Tried this place based on other Tripadvisor reviews. Try it...more than once. We ordered the spicy chicken with rice , salad and bun. It comes with a dressing for salad and a spicy sauce for meat and rice....very tasty. Another time we ordered the grilled salmon and it also was very good. We got a lot of food at a reasonable price. There are tables and counter seating.

Excellent food and service

By dianeoconnell |

We live right down the block and love their food. Their delivery is fast and food delicious! Reasonable prices as well. However, this is not a restaurant with ambiance. It is a take out or delivery place, or can sit at one fo the tables but it is more for quicker eats than a candlelit dinner! But if you want excellent food with friendly service, I can't recommend enough!
