Too salty

By Tosca R |

We had the food delivered. It was my partner’s birthday. We enjoyed the combo, smaller dishes, one of which was tabouli salad. It felt like eating a spoonful of salt. Entire meal every dish was completely over salted. Please tell your chef it’s overkill on the salt. I was literally drinking tons of water for the next several hours and I had a hard time sleeping.

A pretty decent option around PNB

NOTE: the review is relative to other food options in the area. For some reason, the food scene around McCaw Hall is a culinary wasteland. As such, I was surprised to find Tanoor within waking distance (approx. 12 min). The place is large and a cross section of traditional elements with a modern setting. Service was okay at best. Seems everyone was still waking up from a coma, but the food did arrive and the check eventually, too. The bread was fresh and the cheese boat I tried was delicious. Pickles were good, too. While this is not the best meal, it definitely is a step up compared to other options in walking distance. One weird thing: When they turn on the vent in the kitchen it is so loud that it feels like they are cremating someone in an industrial oven. As such, I recommend sitting away from the kitchen.

business trip

Great and fast service. Very good food to reasonable price, friends service and atmosphere. Good place for classic Lebanese food.

Never again - toxic owner and average food

I usually do no post negative reviews but the public should be aware of what this place is about. The food was not terrible but also not great, so the consumers should be aware. In my opinion, this is not a place worthy of support to help it improve it's culinary offereings because the owner is not a good member of the community. I had just tried this place for the first time but never again knowing that I would be supporting such a sick and hate filled owner and his family. His incredibly offensive comments about the LGBTQ community came about because of diversity training at a Sammamish City Council meeting. Wow - so twisted and his statement smacked of ignorance. As someone who himself could be seen as a minority, this is especially mind boggling and nauseating. His statement as it was very intentional and shows his small mindness hateful nature. Never again will I purchase his pedestrian and average food, either at his restaurant or in a grocery store. Shame! Shame on you, Mr Fayed.

Wonderful food

Excellent food truly one of the best Lebanese restaurant we have been to. And we've done a lot for them in Europe where we live. The staff was friendly, the food very tasty. The labneh and babaghanoughe were amazing. The meat was great though the beef and lamb shawarma was definitely better than the chicken shawarma. The frites were also surprisingly good. The falafels were ok, but not amazing. We went back for takeout two days After, and though the waiting time was a bit longer, we watched them make the pitas and that was interesting. Would warmly recommend that restaurant, and will definitely go back next time I visit Seattle.

Below average food.

Ate here with a group of business associates and we all agreed the food and service were both way less than expected. Had high hopes but we were all really disappointed and agreed we wouldn’t be coming back.

Nice place while visiting!

We were visiting Seattle after our cruise and found this place on Yelp. Beautifully decorated inside, priced reasonably for the portion size, we enjoyed the hummus, and chicken shawarma sandwich both delicious. Menu had lots of choices. I recommend eating here when in the area.

Authentic cuisine exploration and a solid find

We had made reservations for Tanoor in advance and that meant we hardly waited 5 minutes to be seated after we arrived. The decor was lovely and staff was rushed, overworked and stressed. It was a popular restaurant as the tables were full and the place was quite busy with more locals than tourists it appeared. Usually that is an indication that the food will be well prepared and tasty and we found that to be true. We were branching out from the typical meal choices and enjoyed the flavors and spices of the dishes. Portions were large and we had leftovers as a result. This is more a casual and loud space with patrons conversing all around and pricing was reasonable for the food quantity. Our server was covering several tables and did a fair job considering how busy they were. Not sure if we would return since tables were not cleaned quickly and the floor had food spilled about in areas.

Amazing food!

We came here with a group of friends while visiting Seattle and the food was absolutely top notch. My favorites included the babaganoush, the lamb with garlic sauce, and the fried cauliflower. But everything was absolutely delicious. Even the two kids with us enjoyed the food. NOTE: this restaurant is halal and does not serve alcohol. But they have a wide selection of teas and soft drinks that we enjoyed.

Once and never again

The food is adequate — though “authentic” is seriously pushing it — but the prices are seriously inflated. The service was slow and indifferent. As if that weren’t enough, on top of 20% tip and 10% tax, they tack on an additional $3 “service charge.” I understand that overcharging and underserving Seattleites is local restaurants’ favorite indoor sport, but that’s just plain obnoxious.
