Had the Peach Burrata Salad along with a tart cherry beer. The Burrata was perfect and I've not a lot of experience with sour beers, but I really liked this. The menu has a lot of items that I wanted to try.

This place was a fantastic find Portion size was perfect Atmosphere was great 20 different beers Belching Beaver was best for me Paella was awesome so we had to come back for a 2nd night and were even more impressed Pity it’s so far from Australia or we would be regulars

This is fine dining presented in a relaxed, fun, and laid-back atmosphere. Meeting the owners tonight gave us insight into the attention to detail that goes into their food, most of which is sourced from organic farming as well as excellent wines and beers. Cheeses shipped from France, including outstanding wines and beers make for an gastro experience that will be sure to surprise you. Wow factor here, and our new favorite restaurant in Sand Diego. These folks pour their heart into everything they do and we are grateful for our dining experience.

Great spot for a quick bite and awesome beers. The $10 lunch combo is the best deal in town! Delicious.

In town for a conference, stopped in for a bite. I tried the Brie & Mushroom Soup, which was delicious! The burgers & bacon fries also looked amazing.

We were there 3 weeks ago because it was near our hotel and was very surprised by the excellent service and food. Came back today (even though our hotel is in National City) and the food and service was still amazing.

I was just going with my family to go somewhere to eat and we find this place we order multiple tapas and tried them out. The ribs were PERFECT they felt like butter and their shrimps were also delicious. We also eat chicken wings they were really good if you like them spicy. So I just recommend that you come here to eat it’s worth the experience.

Quick visit with family. Grabbed a brew and a quick bite. Not mulch more to say. Everyone was friendly.

We stopped in for a light dinner a couple of blocks from our hotel. They were just finishing a rush/bust time bit were very welcoming and industrious getting things sorted. A good selection of local beers were available, sensible wine selection and a very sensible menu. We enjoyed the Toulouse and chorizo dish, mushroom and brie soup, pear Flatbread and sautéed vegetable skillet. Very friendly and pleasant service.

Just a short walk from our Gaslamp District hotel this place was an excellent choice! Arrived just before happy hour ended and received the $2 off all of our choices, except dessert because we didn't order that until after our meal. The staff were super friendly and so happy to help us through the menu. Every choice was outstanding! Very tasty!

Great little place! Food is very tasty and fresh. Great beer selection. The couple/owners who run the place are super friendly and nice. Highly recommended!

Authentic French & Spanish cuisine expertly prepared. We loved it and will definitely return next time we go to the San Diego Civic Theater (easy walking distance). Definitely recommend.

I stumbled on Tapas and Beers on my way to my hotel. I am glad I did. I ordered the choice of crostini and chose the salmon, the eggplant and the prosciutto, very good. There are other good choices. The place was quiet and there is outside dining as well. And if you are into beer, there are a lot of good choices.

Large group for a business lunch. Very accommodating. Able to handle special requests and provided a gluten-free menu upon request. Outstanding service in every way. In our group of eight people, everyone raved about their food. I had the Quinua Salad with Salmon, it was outstanding.

We wandered in to here for lunch after leaving Horton Plaza. You might miss it as you walk towards one of the main streets in San Diego, but it's worth the stop. We went in here for lunch, a great deal, $10 for a 1/2 a sandwich and a salad or soup. Don't be misled by the ad half because it was not. Everything we ordered was fresh. The sandwich was huge. The turkey on my sandwich was fresh, not deli turkey. The chef's salad was fresh meats, (not deli), cheeses very good and a large salad. The other order was the same. The salad overflowed off the plate. Definitely will go back again. I titled my review Tres Bien because the owner and workers all spoke French.

Visiting my Aunt and Uncle who live downtown. They are regulars at Tapas and Beers and took me there for lunch. They introduced me to the owner, Julie, who was also our server. We had each had lunch combos of soups and flatbreads, and a beer. Sat outside on a beautiful day, food and beer was great, and Julie was fantastic. All around great experience!

Stumbled upon this amazing restaurant when looking for a spot close to our hotel that served tapas sized plates!!! The food was mediterranean-leaning and incredibly delicious-especially the butternut squash soup and the baked brie……and the staff were delightful. Highly recommend Tapas and Beers!

Had tapas for dinner prior to an event at Balboa Theater. The tapas menu included typical Iberian tapas but also some Californian and American dishes, all served as small plates. There is an eclectic set of entrees on the menu as well. Everything we had was delicious. There is an extensive beer menu that seems to be almost exclusively San Diego craft beer. Also a small wine list. We visited on a Saturday nite and the place was full with a wait list so make reservations. We were able to eat quickly by taking a couple of seats at the bar. The atmosphere is lively, and a little noisy if the place is full. Service was friendly and professional, overall excellent. Highly recommended!

OMG what a great find. First time in San Diego and I saw this place the first night but it wasnt until the 2nd night I got to come here. I love tapas so I can try different dishes, and the food did not disappoint. The sangaria was great as well as the mushroom and brie soup and ribs. The waiter made great suggestions , I'll be back tomorrow.

All you want when you go eat in a restaurant is good food and great customer service! That's what we experienced yesterday with my friends! This new restaurant is focus on quality and service. We tried soups, salads, flat breads and crostini! Please try the crostini cured salmon!! A great overall for this restaurant where you can eat well and have a great talk with owners! Satisfied!!

I was suffering from jet lag having flown flown from Baltimore, MD to San Diego, CA during the wee morning hours of 14 October 2017. I could not sleep and so I went on a 2-mile jaunt in search of organic beet juice and apple cider vinegar (I have to have some each day or my day isn’t right). I found an organic produce store named “ “Jimbo’s” that satisfied my cravings for the beet juice. Famished, I also searched for somewhere to eat lunch when I stumbled upon “Tapas & Beers.” What a Gem! I had the $10 lunch special, which consisted of a fantastic turkey panini sandwich on a homemade French baguette. I also enjoyed a wonderful hand-prepared Cobb salad. I truly enjoyed its local selection of craft beers interspersed with some other well-selected beer selections. I am blowing the trumpet and throwing down the metal gauntlet and challenging anyone visiting San Diego to visit this wonderful restaurant and get out the word!

The French couple who run the restaurant were friendly, attentive and very dedicated to making sure their guests had an enjoyable dinner. I ate their two nights out of a 5 night stay.

What a great little place! Had a burger and grilled vegetables. Burger done to perfection and grilled vegetables had a awesome balsamic dressing. Near Westin Gaslamp hotel, 2 minute walk. Had a very intetesting frozen tap, check out picture.

Best place in San Diego for lunch or dinner. The food is amazing to say the least, really delicious. The atmosphere and service are amazing. Really loved this place.

We went before a show at the Civic Theater and had amazing food. The owners were the only people serving so we got to chat a little with them. Great people!

This is a great date night (or lunch) restaurant. Everything we have eaten here is delicious. Their French Fries are the best we have had anywhere, ever. Meats are high quality and their soups, salads and flatbreads are favorites. They have a large beer menu as well as wine, sangrias and canned cocktails. There is a parking garage just a few doors down.

First of all, Julie was a phenomenal server. She went above and beyond to get us everything we needed and was running around during a busy night. The restaurant food quality was top-notch. Everything was very fresh with a beautiful presentation. Personally we are vegetarians and appreciated more than they typical “veggie burger” restaurant option. The pear flatbread, veggie sandwich and soup options were great. This restaurant has food for everyone though. Would definitely recommend!

Ran across this place while waiting for our show to start at the Lyceum Theatre. Found the tapas selection delightful, unfortunately my buddy and I are both tea toddlers so we can't tell you anything about the booze part. Loved the cured meat platter and the brussel sprouts and bacon dish was so yummy.

Wonderful food very eclectic menu but all organic or made in house. Owner is very hands on in the dining room and (rightfully) proud of his menu. He was a lot of fun and a great guide through the menu & dining experience.

The sever was very nice and beer list was extensive, cold, and great. The food was just terrible. We ordered a flat bread that was doughy and flavorless. We tried another swing with the paella... it was worse. Fried, dry, fishy rice is a better description and it was not paella by any far stretch. Even as a "rice dish" that shouldn't have been called paella, it was inedible. We paid for the flatbread, which we should not have even offered, but didn't wants the sever's rip too to suffer because she was great. The food was so bad we couldn't even make ourselves stay for a second beer. Avoid this place.

We decided to try Tapas&Beers tonight with our son. We tried five tapas as well as the max and cheese. Everything was really good, especially the pulled pork sliders and the mac n cheese. Nice beer selection as well.

We went to Tapas & Beers only by chance and were totally blown away! If you’re in downtown San Diego looking for an exceptional meal and experience, you must go there. Tapas & Beers is on the edge of Gaslamp Quarter and owner Nael, along with a great group of enthusiastic folks, have turned it into something very special. Locals already know a good thing when they taste it. People working in the area fill the restaurant for lunch. We went for dinner, ordered a selection of crostini, sweet and sour calamari, and mushroom and brie toasts and could not believe our tastebuds, not to mention the mouth-watering presentation. There are 19 local and one Mexican micro brewery beers to chose from and a good selection of wines. And if you have room for dessert, the key lime pie is extraordinary. Fresh local ingredients, a variety of very special dishes, both tapas and full meals, attention to detail... there’s something to satisfy everyone, even kids’ options. Happy hour is from 4-7pm. Don’t miss checking out the one-of-a-kind frozen beer tower and a few other surprises at this gem. Am so glad we’re in San Diego for a few more days because we’re going back!

We saw their ad in the hotel magazine and it was within walking distance. The beer list was excellent, something for every taste, IPAs for my hubby and stouts for me. We sat next to the the kitchen and every dish looked amazing! I chose the chicken soup with coconut milk and avocado, which was to die for! I also had the daily pasta dish, which was very good. My husband had the lobster bisque and the Hawaiian burger. He was very happy with both. The burger came with a choice of truffle fries. OMG! The server brought us garlic aoli to try with them. Over the top delicious! The fries were skinny little crispy strips of deliciousness. I'd eat here often if we were locals.

The food was very fresh and delicious. The service was very friendly! In summary, the best meal in America on our 3-week trip.

I stopped in for a quick bite in the afternoon. Beer selection was good, garlic shrimp were excellent. I spoke with the owner..it was very clear that he was very serious about only using the best and freshest ingredients. Price was very reasonable. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in SD.

We stayed at Courtyard Marriott hotel around here, this is our favorite in the neighborhood. Food is excellent, service is great, restaurant is clean and beautiful, atmosphere is wonderful! We don’t even drink, but love the food. We had Caesar Salad, Mussels & Fries, Sausage Sampler, Organic Vegetables Skillet, soups…. are all super tasty. You can tell that the ingredients are fresh which make the food simply delicious. PS: Next door “Dobson’s bar and restaurant” is great too!

Friendly staff, good service, tasty food. The sausage plate was excellent. Lots of great beer on tap.

One of our favourite food experiences whilst on vacation here in USA. The service was such a highlight and could not be faulted. So attentive and provided extra level of assistance around wine selection and with our little one. The food was excellent and the highlight was the kids meal with juicy beautifully cooked patty! So often kids meals are cheap and nasty. Not here. Generous size and so tasty. We also enjoyed really enjoyed the baked brie, Brussels sprouts and mushroom brie toasts. We would definetly return and recommend

Best hidden place in San Diego… Great food, unreal service and a pretty cool decor. We keep coming back … the concept is just fantastic, French cuisine blended with Spanish tapas and Local American beers… cannot get more California than that !!!

Was looking for a place to eat an early dinner that was tasty and close to Gas Lamp district. Came across Tapas and Beers via Open Table. The food was outstanding and did not disappoint - everything our group chose was fresh and tasty. Wine and beer options were really good as well. One of the best meals I had in San Diego during the week for sure. Strongly recommend and can't wait to return!

Stopped by for lunch and found out about their lunch combo! $10 only 👍🏼 killer deal with amazing quality. Loved it !! Will be back for sure

Went for brunch on a Saturday, not to busy at that time. Burrito was amazing. Great place for food and drinks.

Went for tapas and wine. Rioja was reasonably priced. Our french waiter was brilliant. Food, service and prices all excellent. Really enjoyed our visit

This place was amazing. All the different small plates had a blast of taste like no other. Great drink selections as well. For how busy it was (I think there may have been an event) we were seated quickly and or server was very attentive and always checking on us. Will definately come back!

This restaurant emphasises traditional tapas and local microbreweries. They offer a good variety of tapas as well as other, larger dishes. All of the beers we tried were excellent, some were more fruity, others were more hoppy,. Ask your server for their recommendations, they know the qualities of the beers they're serving. The onion soup was outstanding, as good as any we've had in France. The crab cakes had a great flavour and came with a tangy mayo. The garlic shrimp was served with a good cocktail sauce. The pan con tomato offered bruschetta with marinated tomato and prosciutto. This was sublime - the bread was soft with good quality ham and a citrus kick in the tomato marinade. Very good food, presented on wooden serving boards by friendly, knowledgeable staff who want you to enjoy your dining experience.

Wonderful service and delicious snack. Had the pleasure of an enlightening conversation with the owner who shared a few secrets to culinary success.

Small tapas bar, walking distance from my hotel. I had dinner here twice on a recent trip. Mussels & fries were wonderful. Warm goat cheese salad was a perfect end to a long day. Leave room for dessert, the flan and the butterscotch pudding are worth it. I'll be back

The meal was excellent and the service was first class. They were very professional and friendly. The restaurant is highly recommended.

Stopped for an after work ale and stayed for dinner. It's a handy location on Broadway near Horton Plaza with outdoor seating to watch the world go by. Tasting flights are available and a great way of zoning in on a new favourite ale. I landed on the Beltching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout, a mouthful of delight. Very good service and a good tasting menu of tapas and burgers.

A local tapas restaurant with high quality reasonably priced tapas. Significant draft beer selection should accommodate all tastes. Tapas were well prepared and of sufficient size to satisfy two people. Service was friendly and attentive.

We came here before a show at the Civic Theater. Casual decor and very friendly service. It is a boutique neighborhood restaurant with a downtown Greenwich Village vibe, but it's San Diego so it's only one street 🙄. Park at the Civic Center, walk 5 mins to the restaurant. My wife and I ordered the Spanish cheese plate. Yummy. We shared a small plate, crostini with whipped cheese and toppings like marinated olives or strawberries. I had the fresh grilled veggies sandwich. Exceptional taste. Everything paired with homemade sangria. Finished the dinner with a mixed berry crepe, which was prepared perfectly. Our stomachs had no room for coffee. We walked over to the theater very satisfied. And the price was right. I want to see the same restaurant in the Del Mar Highlands / Carmel Valley area.

Looking for our first place to visit on a short trip here. Call this a beer sampler location with great food pairings. Truffle fries, Hawaiin 🍔. Great selection of 20 beers.

We had a wonder time at Tapas and Beer during one of the many recent rain storms. We were staying at the Westin so it very convenient although we would have driven from anywhere because the place was so enjoyable. The food was excellent. The brie and mushroom toast was very good as a starter. I had a perfectly prepared steak and my wife had salmon that she really enjoyed. I think the owner was our waiter and he was very attentive and helpful. The beer selection was outstanding and the smaller list of wines don’t leave you wanting more to choose from. This was our first visit. We will be back.

Was looking for a casual bite to eat and happened to come across Tapas&Beers. Initially their $2 off everything for happy hour (3-6) caught my attention, but from then on it was a great choice. I had the 3 tacos which were very fresh and tasty, and we're over-filled with deliciousness. Large selection of craft beers. Staff was very friendly and a commodating. I recommend going here than the pricy establishments downtown.

The tapas is fantastic have to ribs they are falling off the bone, sliders are amazing and the Sangria is a must have. Will be back for the soup, Mac and cheese and the bacon fries.

We were walking through the Gaslamp district hungry and chose the “near me” option. Thought, “Hey, I like tapas. I also like beers.” Now, we like both more. The calimari, bacon fries, deviled eggs, pulled pork sliders and garlic shrimp were all terrific, as were the assorted IPAs. But it was the service and conversation with the owners that made it special. So, go. Enjoy some terrific flavors and support these great people serving up some mighty tasty tapas in San Diego.

Cute place. Made reservations on opened table and they had a sign with my name on it waiting and we were 10 minutes early. For a “beer” place, they didn’t have many beers to choose from which I thought was a little odd. The food was very good though. I highly recommend the sliders, and the bacon Mac and cheese. The key lime dessert was okay but it was a very light fluffy tart and I like more of a pie. But that is just personal preference. The service was okay. There was only 2 servers on a Friday night so I understand why it took some time but the food came out sooooo fast. There should be more tapas places in San Diego because it’s fun to go with your friends, spouse, or family and just order a bunch of stuff to share. Prices are decent for downtown San Diego. I spent 60$ (not including tip) for two people and we ordered 4 things and a dessert and two beers.

We only found this place because the hop on, hop off trolley passed it. We sat outside which was nice and our waitress was very friendly. She got us waters right away. I ordered the prosciutto sandwich and fries. The food came out fairly fast and it was super good! I loved the fries!

Delicious food and great service! We had a variety of Tapas and the White Sangria. The Crème Brûlée was fantastic! Thank you for a great experience!

This was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel and I confess we were thrilled that we followed her advice. We tried two soups, a Lobster Bisque and Mushroom with Brie. Both were thick, chunky and rich with flavor. We sampled a Tapas, Red Pesto Toasts, that too was exquisite, I believe our server was also the proprietor and made us feel that we were guests in her dining room in France, Overall, a truly delightful meal and experience,

C’est magnifique! Everything was perfect. Our server anticipated that we would want to sit inside and our table was reserved with a placard with my name. I had the lobster bisque (so creamy and practically fluffy) and the baked Brie (a perfect little round covered with delicious jam) while my husband had the tapas (perfectly spiced and portioned). The server was incredible, dancing among the ten tables and keeping everyone happy. Wines were crisp and luscious. The French and Spanish fusion totally works! Everything was reasonably priced for a big city and the entire experience was memorable. Loved it!

Very good lunch combo with different sandwiches, soup, salad and so on... 10$ = great deal for lunch . Quick and easy! I like it...

Go check out this place. You’ll be in for a fun evening! All Goodwin excellent and the place just relaxes you. Great service too!
Amazing Food and Service
This place is Amazing ! Great food, atmosphere and friendly service. My waitress Julie was great at getting my order right and providing exceptional service. My Garlic Shrimp fresh and cooked to perfection especially since wanted mine with no garlic and they came out just right. Lots of beers and wine to choose from. See their menu. If in downtown San Diego. Stop here for Amazing tapas and Bistro food .
