Its grab and go, so you will eat in your car, but believe you will not be disappointed. Staff very friendly and food delicious.

It’s very simple. If you love street tacos, pay Taquitos west Ave a visit, delicious and priced right. You won’t regret it.

I absolutely love the tacos here and the salsa verde is to die for. Just the right amount of heat and flavor. I drown my tacos in it. I love they're open until 3am as well. I work late some nights and many a night i go to get a great meal and a Mexican coke. They have several meats and they are made ti to order . The Best!!

New to San Antonio and accidentally stumbled on this place. When we arrived we fell hard because the atmosphere, the people, the music and food was AMAZING! Everything is soo lively, this is truly a great place.

A good place to try some meats that you won't find in traditional Tex-Mex sit down restaurants. First, the ordering process -- you start by going to the guy at the grill/prep station and tell him what you want. The day that I dropped in, there was a sign listing five meats -- sadly, no pastor. He'll plate up your tacos -- street taco size on corn tortilla -- and add some onions, cilantro, radishes, or whatever condiments he has on the side. Tell the other guy what you want to drink, then grab a table. Someone will bring over a couple of types of hot sauce, and enjoy. I had tripas, which were cooked well, and tasty (if you like tripas) with a couple of splashes of sauce. The other options available at the time were bistek, lengua, cabeza, and suadero. That's it! Three tacos and a soda were about $5. The parking is limited on a cluttered stretch of street, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating - and were either fixing or adding and outdoor grill when I was there. Pay at the register before you leave. Definitely worth a stop for a bite if you are nearby.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the food, service, or staff. They have the best tacos and quesadillas for the whole family, especially on a budget. The service was exceptional. They are very quick and really nice. I could eat here every day!

I saw this place recently and decided to stop on a late Saturday afternoon. This location is some 4 miles from downtown on West Avenue 4 blocks north off I-10. My wife and I each chose 4 different meat tacos, each costing $1.25 each. Plus, we added a Mexican CocaCola to add more genuineness. The meal was delicious and the taquitos hit the spot. The worker will bring you 2 different hot sauces and take your beverage order- soft drinks only! Large the tacos are not but the flavor is authentic and delicious. This place works on the honor system- you tell them how many tacos your party ate and what you ordered to drink. There is no beer - that is good! We will return frequently for some more of the best street tacos in San Antonio. Try them- you too will return!

This is a great place to go if you want tacos like they serve in Mexico. Small corn tortillas. Each taco is only 3 or 4 bites. I'd order 5-10. I had the tripas and bistek. They put onions and cilantro on top, but you can order them plain. Parking could be an issue though. I've heard it can also get very busy and packed. It has indoor and outdoor covered areas.

These are some of the best street tacos we have ever eaten. We had the pork and they were superb. We ordered 10 thinking that we could have some for later, but they were so good we ate them all. We will definitely go back.

1st of all expect the line when ordering their food, But the wait is definitely worth it. Once at the service window you place an order and it's made fresh. The Al pastor tacos are excellent. The meat is cooked to perfection. The lime, cilantro, and onions Bring out the full flavor of these Mini tacos. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor sitting. These tacos are really good at a really good price.

casual walk up window, you choose from 5 or 6 meat choices. the al pastor as delicious and flavorfull.

Best tacos ... suadero, bistec, al pastor, lengua, tripas....$1.50 each one; definitely worth the long line

I have no complaints or regrets about eating here. Great service, even better food. The tacos were perfect and tasted soo soo good

My wife and I went to try out the newly opened Taquitos West Avenue. All they offer are street style tacos. They have lengua, cabeza, al pastor and others. As with other places, the order has 5 mini tacos. They use double corn tortillas and dress them up with fresh onion, cilantro, 2-3 pieces of sliced cucumber and radishes along with 2 line wedges. They offer bottled Mexican sodas, regular Coke, lemonade, and other flavors of drinks. The tacos de cabeza were outstanding. The al pastor tacos were OK; nothing special or big flavor. They were ordinary street tacos. Two tacos orders and 2 sodas was $18. A customer in front of me asked for prices and the cashier told her it depended on what kind of tacos she ordered. I think she should have answered with prices. There is no menu or prices advertised. You walk up to the counter which is outside and you order. There are two guys but only one takes your order and makes the tacos. The other guy works the tortillas. Thus, a long line. The parking is horrible. We parked in their lot but you have to back out into West Avenue because there’s no drive thru in the parking lot. We were there about 1 pm and it was busy. We ate inside but because of the weather it was extremely humid inside despite the ceiling fans. I gave them 4 stars because it’s a new place and probably have not worked out or anticipated some of the logistics. Also a lack of menu and prices plus the lack of parking. This place street tacos are just like other places. I must admit, I’ve had better ones.

We stopped by West Avenue Taquitos for lunch on a Sunday. The place was packed, and we soon knew why. The food was amazing! Ordering for dine-in is a bit confusing. You go to the window and order the taquitos you want. I’d recommend the pastor. Once ordering you sit and the waitresses take care of your drinks and other needs. We enjoyed the food though I wished I’d ordered more. One taquito is not enough for a full meal. The sauces they brought to the table were amazing but very spicy. Aside from the confusion of ordering, this is a great place to visit!

I visited this restaurant because of the high ratings for street food tacos. First, I was surprised that the menu was displayed on the windows of the order and prep area, but no prices were displayed. I ordered the lingua tacos, but found them to be just ok. The usual richness of the meat was lacking. Furthermore, no tap water was offered as a substitute for ordered beverages. Last, and most disturbing, was that the main dining area was mopped with an ammonia solution creating an unpleasant atmosphere for the diners. I understand that a busy restaurant like this requires frequent cleaning even when customers are present, but perhaps the ammonia-based cleaning products can be deferred until the dining room is empty.

This are the best tacos al pastor I had in all Texas so far, place is packed but with fast service, hard to find a parking spot so be prepared. They have more choices: lengua, bistec, cabeza, suadero.

We tried this place because we visited the Farmer's Market vendors in the Olmos basin area one Saturday. (If you haven't gone yet, it is a great place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. There are many vendors that include a gentleman and his wife that sell pecans, fresh meats as well as canned vegetables. Some of the vendors do this regularly. The plant man is great! He knows everything about herbs!) This small place is a converted burger stand. Parking is limited; however, it is worth the trip. There are a few tables inside and some seating outside. These are tacos, typical of Jalisco-style tacos, served on small, corn tortillas. They have tripas, bistek, cabeza, asuadero (brisket) and al pastor. They only have these varieties and serve them with delicious grilled onions. You may request (raw, diced) onions and cilantro as well. They sell Mexican Cokes and other soft drinks. There are two salsas that you may request as well. I loved the tripas tacos; my husband really enjoyed al pastor. I also tried lengua but found that I preferred the tripas.

The line moves quick. The food is hot and fresh and fabulous. Don't miss the flan. Enjoy drinking the Cokes from Mexico. It is casual and quick but oh so yummy. For a $1.25 taco, how can you go wrong. Extras limes please. Yum

We are from out of state. We were looking for another restaurant but the GPS misled us. We ended up at Taquitos West. The food and the whole experience was amazing. The tacos al Pastor were delicious! I am so glad we ate there. You will not regret it!

Had some Bistek and Pastor Taquitos. Short waiting time, reasonable prices and they were delicious!!

If you are looking for awesome taquitos (small Tacos or street tacos) this is where you can find them. Great salsas, the tortillas they use are as close as there going to get to the true Mexican ones. They got six different options for meats, no chicken. Place is pretty much always busy. And that's all they serve pretty much nothing else but tacos. Love the al pastor and the tripas. But the cashier lately has been rude so for that only a 4 and he gives other customers nasty looks like if we aren't suppose to bother him for services or drinks or whatever. But other then that it's good. No alcohol too.

Excellent food and service. Recently visiting San Antonio after having moved some 6 years ago, I was on a Taco Mission. This is a must stop when in town. The line moves fast and the food is served up faster. Come in relax and enjoy an authentic Al Pastor, it will not disappoint!

Wow!!! Heard of this had to try. Decided to drive today. Hubby is a picky guy me I grow up with this kind of tacos. Tacos of all kinds. We ordered 3 of each. They were all great yummy. My hubby had to order more he ate some that he swore he would never eat again. Lol!! We he ate them tripas, cow head, tongue tacos. They said they had a good flavoring to them.

I recently moved to San Antonio and in my search for authentic Mexican style taquitos I found Taquitos west. I recommend suadero and al pastor.

Okay so I asked Google for the best taco places in San Antonio and it gave me some long list so me and my girl decided on Taquitos which was ranked #1. We had the Asada tacos and Lengua tacos Both were excellent. Plenty of onions and cilantro and the meat was phenomenal. Ice cold Mexican cokes to wash it down were the perfect compliment. And did I mention how clean it was? I appreciate a clean restaurant and this place was definitely on point. Bought some caramel empanadas to go and they were amazing. And yes I bought an additional 10 tacos to go. They were so so good.

Best tacos I had so far in San Antonio. The Al pastor tacos only available Thursday through Sunday were incredibly flavorful. The salsa was also very good. All the ingredients of a good time!

Definitely some of the best REAL tacos you can find in San Antonio. It really is a taste from home away from home. They are a little far from where I reside, so the trip is not very re-occuring but it is worth it every time!

This place is out of this world, super good food , always hot an fresh, fun place to eat people are friendly an ready to serve you, you will want to keep going back for more. Just one thing the parking lot is small, but other then it's good .

Best tacos I’ve ever had in my life (and I loved me some tacos). Small little place, in not the best neighborhood (but the best ones usually are). Practice your Spanish because you’ll need it. Limited menu makes riding easy.

I had the pork tamales plate; the tamales were tender and moist, the meat was well seasoned and the sides were excellent. Home made salsas too!

I found the place from a thrilling review. Apparently it was considered the best place in San Antonio for a lengua taco. Now I'm not a big fan of lengua tacos (kinda tasteless to me) but I'm always up for a taco stand so we (Al and I) went. Well, if you aren't into lengua tacos, prepare to have your mind no blown. Mine was. The Tacos were delicious. It was Wednesday, so al pastor tacos weren't available, so I ordered the bistec and the Cabeza tacos they were delicious. The tortillas had been steamed on top of the lengua meat so it soaked up some of those juices and were just just absolutely spectacular. I had seven tacos. I regret none of them. Even now I'm jonesing for a cave a taco and a lengua taco. My next trip to San Antonio, I'm definitely coming back.

I don’t know why I haven’t written a review on them. I like to try new places but there are a few places I keep going to when I want “comfort” type food. I didn’t grow up eating Mexican or Tex Mex food so I’m no expert. However I know what I like. My friends who are native to San Antonio recommended this place. They warned me that it’s obnoxiously loud, bright and hot. I was thinking to my self. Hmmm you’re selling it. Not. When we got there, the parking lot was small but found parking on the side road. The line to order was out the door. There was loud Mexican music playing. I mean loud. I couldn’t really hear what my friends were saying. The led lights were bright. There is seating inside or outside. They have a simple menu and the food seems simple, but it’s packed with flavor. Add the roasted jalapeños and onions with radish and cucumber. Yum! It’s not a taco with western twist or seasoning or sauces. In all my travels around the world, I found the best meals have the simplest ingredients. This is true here. I’ve tried everything on their short menu. I love them all. I grew up eating food that we grew or caught and we ate just about every part of the “food.” I like that they have cheeks, tongue and intestines on the menu. They have pastor on only 3 or 4 days a week so when I go there on Friday I order that. My favorite is crispy Tripas. Do not order it to go. Eat it there. If you have to take it home, ask to put the tripas separate from the tortilla and sides. Heat it up in a pan so it stays crispy. I’ve tried tripas at other restaurants but this place has the best. The red sauce was spicy. The green sauce was less spicy. Definitely ask for onions and jalapeño especially if you like spicy. I can’t speak Spanish but I understand it. I was able to order without any issues. They were friendly, accurate and fast! Order your food, sit down and pay on your way out at the register. If you want a drink, someone will come to your table and get your drink for you. I’m sure you can pay before you sit but I’ve never done that. I highly recommend this place. Just go!

We had lunch at this restaurant on a Saturday at around 11:30. Glad we decided to go early. We were able to find parking on the property and the order line was not long. We tried every taco filling on the menu. All were very good. Meats were well seasoned, not salty or greasy. Corn tortillas were fresh. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. Staff took our beverage orders while we were waiting in line. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The dining areas were clean. This is the place to visit if you're looking for reasonably priced authentic Mexican tacos.

For the first time I can say I have had authentic Mexican tacos in San Antonio. From the first sight of meat spinning on a spit I knew this experience was going to be magic. If your are looking for a Mexican street food experience after a night out this place is sure to hit the spot.

This place is very casual and reminds me of how its done in Mexico. Don't expect a fancy restaurant! If you go on a Friday or Saturday, there will be a long line (that is definitely worth the wait!) They specialize in 5 types of mini tacos... all of them are DELICIOUS!! Asada, Trompo, Carnitas, Barbacoa & Suadero, you can get one of each or mix and match! You can also choose to eat outside or inside. Their red hot sauce is the right amount of spicy. I bet you can't go just once!

Seating outside and inside (with AC), great music playing. Go to counter and order how many and what kind of tacos you want. They assemble them fast. Each cost $1.30. We tried pastor, tongue, head, bistek. Pastor were the tastiest! We drank horchata, jamaica and Mexican coke.

We were staying on the Riverwalk and decided to Uber over here to grab some tacos since it came recommended. It was a small little place. You stand in line and place your order and immediately get your plate. You then sit down to eat and pay afterwards. Other than being minorly confused on the process, we loved this place. I thought they would have chorizo tacos (a little disappointed they didn’t) but we tried the bistek and al pastor tacos. I highly recommend the al pastor. They’re authentic Mexican tacos served on the small tortillas with cilantro and onion. I recommend adding salsa, salt and lime. We ended up trying 2 other places on a taco tour we created and the al pastor fro here was our number one.

I visited San Antonio on business trip, and decided to look for a restaurant with Authentic Mexican Tacos and came across Taquitos West Avenue, and it was the best choice I made amazing food and great service… El servicio y la comida estuvo excelente muchas gracias… I highly recommend if you are looking for great food…

I tried the tacos because a friend recommend it but not only there is a big waiting line, once you get your order, you will feel disappointed, the tacks are small, doesn't have enough meat and they are expensive because they are so small and $1.25 Each. I'm Mexican and I can tell you for sure, this is nothing like Mexican Tacos, you can try them if you can't go to Mexico but once you go there, you will not come back.

I went to get some tacos with a friend who recommended this place. When I saw how sweaty the guy was and how he kept brushing the sweat from his face and then touching the food, I became physically ill. They could use gloves but don't! So when he went to put the toppings on the taco with his sweaty hands, I left! Someone told me that the owner is very conneted to someone at the health department and reporting them does no good. It is 102 sometimes and he has no air conditioner in the hole in the wall whee he works....Think about that next time you think of going there! I cannot imagine how many people might get sick and don't realize it.

Then you should go... Excellent taste right up there with Eriks Tacos. Go you won't be disappointed.

Nice staff but limited english. Order food by plate at the window to the right then sit down. They bring you salsa & drink, eat then get more food if you want. Then stand in line to pay when you are done.

I had a couple of co-workers from San Antonio took us here to eat on Thursday night. The food was amazing. It is true Mexican food. The staff was nice and very helpful. There is not much parking so it can be an issue. However it is worth the hassle in my opinion. It is must place to eat when in San Antonio.

If you have frequented Mexico, they have many small but great taco shops. Small tacos, usually ordered in dozens, packed with flavor at a very cheap price. Taquitos West Avenue has a very similar ambiance and the tacos are made hot on the spot! The parking can be hectic at times. Unless you find a very good parking spot, just park across the street at the shopping center.

Best street tacos I’ve ever had!! Quick service and great price. I’m so glad my sister talked me into checking out this place. I’ll be going back next time I visit San Antonio for sure!

Good tacos!!! Haven’t found authentic taco places anywhere, but these are close! Would recommend to park in the plaza infront of the taco place: it gets packed!

By far this is the best place to go eat TAQUITOS! The food is ready you just have to wait in line. There is always a line. That's a good thing because it means they have good food. There are time where the line is bigger and the wait is longer (evenings and weekends). Even like that, we manage to eat and find a seat in about 10-15 min. I get the Bistek tacos but my husband likes Trompo tacos. I always get a Mexican coke with my order. YUM!

I have been Mexico and this place feels like Mexico streets taco places taste is good but if you want to go ver clean place this is not good for you, and each taco was 1.30$

The speciality is street tacos here. Actually there is not much else on on the menu but street tacos. The tacos are good but greasy since the corn tortillas get dipped onto greasy broth before they are heated. Most of the seating is under the covered patio with limited seating inside.

Concierge told us about this place. She said it is her favorite spot in San Antonio. Yes! Al Pastor is only available from Thursday to Sunday. Wife and I shared 5 al pastor, 5 bistek, and 2 cabeza, with 2 Mexican Cokes. Overall…Very good! Music is a bit loud for conversation. Food and service are excellent! Recommend!

Went there and got one of each and was wow by the tacos de tripa. Everything else was average, but can't really complain since tacos were super cheap.

Since moving to San ANtonio two years ago I have been searching for great tacos. with over 60% hispanic population there are plenty of "Mexican" places to eat. Unfortunately most are really Tex-Mex. Bu I can say that finally I found true Mexican flavors in San Antonio (I am sure there are more, just haven't discovered them yet). You can tell when a place is good when is continually packed. And people come to Taquitos West Avenue at all hours of the day. Now, if you want Tacos al Pastor they are only served for days, from Thursday to Sunday. They rest of the time they have other types of tacos. Service is fast and cordial. The flavor the tacos al pastor are genuine and great. They serve plenty of meat with each taco. They have all sort of mexican beers, aguas frescas and Mexican Coca Cola. And the prices are great making it an incredible value. If you are in San Antonio you need to stop and try them out. This is the closest thing to eating tacos al Pastor in Mexico city.

If you get a chance you must to go to this taco place. The Al Pastor tacos are AWESOME! That's all I can say about them...

Good tacos BUT loooong line, plan accordingly. Green salsa and red salsa (spicy) Variety of mexican glass bottle sodas Aguas frescas

The only thing they serve here is a plate of 5 Tacos and you only have 5 choices. They are all awesome. It is what all the wanna be trailers and high priced "Mexican" places want to be. I think they are the closest to the delicious street tacos that you accidentally run across in downtown Mexico City. The line is almost balways long but, it is worth the wait. When you walk up, get in line. Have someone in your party save a table. Order extra. You'll be mad when you want to get more and the line is too long.
Not what they said it would be
My wife and I decided to give it a try after many people kept telling us they were the best tacos. I'm usually not picky about my food, but these tacos were not the best I've had. The carne asada were just bland, not a savory flavor. The salsa was probably the best part if the meal. They had music playing and it was too loud to have a conversation with a person seating across from me.
