This was our first time dining at Tartuca, and we loved it! It was a busy Saturday evening during Portland's Pizza Week, and we were drawn in by the special pizza, which featured green garlic ricotta, kale, Calabrian chili, mozzarella and garlic oil. This pizza was fantastic! The crust was perfectly charred and the toppings were delicious. We started with the marinated olives with citrus and herbs, and a lovely salad of Mizuna, Tatsoi, blossom vinegar, magnolia, sesame and panatelo cheese, which was super fresh and flavorful. All paired with a tasty bottle of Sicilian rose. Next time we want to try the focaccia and one or two pasta dishes, which looked incredible. Our server was excellent, and did a great job keeping up with the busy pace. It was fun sitting at the chef's counter and watching the action in the kitchen. We are looking forward to our next meal there!

Went with son and daughter in law on our last day visiting in Portland. Last minute choice and boy was it good. Ordered a couple different salads white been and Caesar, a couple of large pizzas and (a gluten free which was the best g f ever). Also had an order of the BEST focaccia I have ever seen or had. Great bottle of Westrey Pinot Noir which was also good. If your a pizza freak like us. GO!!!

This restaurant was wonderful from beginning to end. We sat at the bar , giving us a bird’s eye view into the open kitchen. Our waitperson went over the menu explaining all the options. The food was delicious from the Caesar salad with boquerones to the perfectly cooked pizza and the pasta with clams. We also indulged in a wonderful chocolate dessert with a pine toffee a great decision. Don’t miss this friendly neighborhood restaurant. We will certainly be back.

We loved everything about this restaurant, the location, the staff and the service and of course the food. I would definitely recommend it.

One of the nicest Italian dining in town. Mississippi Ave is famous for its many offerings and this time we had the pleasure of dining here. The Foccasia bread with burrata was fabulous. The confit new potatoes and the caprese salad and the foccasia made sumptuous appetizers for 6 people. We had the vegetarian version of the bucatini and gnudi, both excellent. Certainly we will be visiting again. Do make reservations.. especially if you are more than 2 people in your party.
Energetic place with creative and palate pleasing offerings
Loved, loved, loved! Really enjoyed our meals at Tartuca!!! Our waiter, Jeff, had only been there 2 weeks and was wonderful!! Knowledgeable and friendly! Some of the dishes had more heat than I'd like, but I'm the wimp in the group - the overall opinion was the drinks and meals quite fabulous, innovative and worth a return visit.
