The first thing you will experience is the absolutely incredible aroma of spices and curries. It smells heavenly. Shortly after being seated, we were treated to a complimentary potato covered in chickpea flour then fried served with tamarind and mint chutneys. Delicious. Ultimately, we ordered Vegetarian delight as an appetizer, my son got his usual Mango Lassi, and Chicken Tikka Masala, I got the Veggie Coconut Curry, as well as a to-go order of Lamb Biriyani for my husband and Felafel for my next days meal. Finally, we were served a complimentary slice of cheesecake.recommend for moderately Overall, really enjoyed our food and experience. The menu is quite extensive and I would recommend this restaurant for good, moderately priced meal.

I’ve been here before, it’s always a good choice, probably the best Indian I’ve had in Seattle. I REALLY like the menu, you can choose any dish and pick your protein.... from tofu to paneer to lamb! I had the tikka masala with paneer. Yum!!! My date had the mango curry with lamb, delish! This is the only restaurant to make my food genuinely spicy like I ask. The service was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive. The food came out quick and hot. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant. I will be returning very soon.

We really had a wonderful meal. All four of us tried something different and liked the dish really well. There was a great variety of flavors from a delicate dish to seriously spicy. The various nans are worthy of a special mention. Very worthy of a visit

We eat Indian food as our normal fare, and we eat it all over the world. We found our selections way too heavy and relatively tasteless. The portions are immense: too much for two people to share. This conduces to overeating. Smaller, lighter, and zestier portions would improve the eating experience here significantly. No complaints about the service, which was efficient and friendly. But we weren't served top quality food.

We've been coming to family owned restaurant for over . Food is pretty good and service is great . Prices have gone up but now include a small appetizer and one dessert.

We had been to this restaurant for attending a birthday party. There were about 20 guests in the party. The seating arrangement was very good, service on the table was excellent. Food was close to Indian Authentic and freshly prepared. Following vegetarian items were served: Starters: Samosa, Pakoras, Paneer Tikka Main Course: Aloo Gobi, Dal Maharani, Paneer Shahi, Baigan Bhartha, Plain Nan, Tandoori Roti, Raita, Basmati Rice Dessert: Birthday Cake, Gulab Jamun, Ras Malai Overall, the service and party arrangements were very good and food quality was great.

We visit dozens of Indian restaurants in Seattle and the East side and this is the only one we keep returning to. Our favorite dishes are the Palak Masala paneer, fresh Nan bread (regular and garlic), Tikki Masala.

Every time that I have been to Taste of India the food has been very good. The veg. samosa's are the best in town. The portions are generous. The service is good.

Looks small on the outside but seems to go on forever on the inside. Intimate dining space. Excellent service. Definitely order the chai because they refill it constantly! Warm and delicious. Large menu with good variety. I ordered the lamb kabob, which was good. The Kashmiri Nan was excellent, almost like a dessert. The nans come in large portions too so definitely worth sharing. Great Indian food. Will definitely go back.

Great value, all of the menu item appetizers were 1/2 price all day! What a great deal. Plus the bartenders had made the drink menu and made up the ingredients for a lot of fun new drinks, kind of like Speak Easy bar drinks. Yummy. You can order off the larger menu too if you wish. We had a great time.

After 10 years, we finally ate here and it didn't disappoint. The food tasted exactly like I was craving. The service is excellent. I have nothing bad to say. I will definitely be back.

We were welcomed with complementary Bajji. Crispy and oily but tasty. Mango Lussi was thick and best I had in US. Jaipur Masala was awesome. Ordered aalu kulcha... Thumbs-up

My adult daughters both have eaten here at separate time with their family and we have shared the good food together. It is a place to try different dishes and then look forward to a return when you can have a favorite. I like 0 heat and they accommodate me. My daughters and their family like heat and they get it. I also like that they bring out some food to munch on right away while you are waiting for your order. It is a bit noisy, but conversation could still be carried on.

Terrific Indian food. Excellent service. One of our favorites. The location is bit off the beaten path and parking can be a challenge at peak times but parking is a challenge anywhere in Seattle. If you haven't been, go. You'll enjoy it. If you have been, you don't need this review.

First time at Taste of India and what a wonderful experience. Delicious tandoori chicken, garlic naan, butter chicken, samosa and more. Margaritas are awesome as well. Try the Billionaire Cocktail! Service is great--friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Full flavor, generous portions, excellent service. Parking is challenging. Our order: Veg Samosa was delicious, large, wonderful tamarin and mint sauce. Two mango lasse that were like milk shakes and bursting with flavor. One regular naan prepared traditionally as one large oval seasoned just right. Chicken Tikka made to order (tender, a delight to the taste buds),veg (malai) kofta made with paneer balls that melt in your mouth and served in rich,Indian curry sauce. Chef modified Aloo Gobi since my wife couldn't eat cauliflower, and the dish was outstanding. Finished with one order of Rasmalai perfectly blended almond milk and cardamom sauce and enough to share. Servers very attentive and accomdating. With 20%, the bill came to $71.00. We will definitely return to Taste of India.

Super good Indian food and great and fast customer service every time we go. Their Mango Lassi and Saag curry is my favorite but their grilled chicken is tasty too. You can choose level of hotness on curries and ingredients (Tofu, Cheese, Meats) Good place for any ages to eat. They do have their own small parking lot.

If you are missing Indian food in Seattle, look no further than Taste of India. Priced right, and will remind you of the home cooked meals. Tried most veg and non-veg main dishes and was impressed by one and all.

We were very pleased with the food, the menu choices, the portions (leftovers), and the service. My wife and I came here at the recommendation of our Seattle based daughter. We didn't have a reservation (a thursday night), and we had no problem getting a table as the restaurant was about half full. We shared a wonderful veg samosa (2 pcs) appetizer, had one veg entree, one chicken curry entree and one huge naan, and took home enough for another meal for 1. The food was well prepared, filling and delicious.

Just had lunch at Taste of India. I am vegan and they were very helpful in identifying options for us. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Mohammed went out of his way to be sure we had a good experience.

This is our friend's go-to place for Indian food, and we were not disappointed, except for the low ceilings in some places (ouch). The food arrived hot and generously portioned, and you can order by degree of spiciness (heat!).

Some of the best Indian we've had in the states. You'll have to go to GTA, Great Britain or India for better.

We met family at Taste of India.Wewere pleasantly surprised that the reviews we had read were true. The food was cooked to order. The wait staff was quite attentive and accommodating. Menu was varied with reasonable prices.

We came for early dinner with friends. It was noisy as we were seated in a small area with a lineup of tables. I ordered tandoori prawns with brown rice. $19 plus $3.40 extra for brown rice! Approximately 6 prawns with a few buttered carrots and potatoes! My husband’s vegetarian meal had meat in it! Never again!!!

We ate at the Taste of India and thoroughly enjoyed our choices. We sat on the patio which is dog friendly and the staff was wonderful. The restaurant is super cute and quaint as it's a house in a neighborhood that has been turned into a restaurant. I found it a bit expensive, but it was a great splurge meal for me and my friend during my visit to see people in Seattle. I just recently came back from a trip where I visited India and I was missing the food so much - this place did the trick!! Enjoy!!

The only Indian restaurant in Seattle whose food is closer to Pakistani. I liked the food. Service is a bit slow but they do give you heads up for 20 mom delay for most of the items in menu.

Both the food and the staff are amazing. Went there last week and returned again today for my "birthday meal." I don't live near the restaurant but it is so worth the ferry boat ride and drive from where I live. I We ordered the vegetable kofta, tikka masala, pesto nan and garlic nan. Everything was EXCELLENT. The nan is so fresh. The iced chai tea is perfect too. I can't say enough about the food and staff. I travel and eat out quite a bit and the Taste of India staff, by far, is the most attentive, friendly, kind staff (and owner) that I have ever encountered. I was away from my table for a short time and when I returned, they left a slice of cheesecake with mango sauce for me and my daughters to share. Unbelievable! Thank you Taste of India!

My wife, daughter, son-in-law and I ate at this restaurant. The atmosphere is nothing out of the ordinary, but the food is. I like my food with no stars heat and I was very satisfied. The rest of the family ordered more heat and they got it. Everyone went home with extra food and a happy stomach.

Taste of India is like a taste of heaven! Superb food, with generous servings, and often a complimentary appetizer or dessert. The service is unbeatable, they attend to your every need, very friendly manager & servers. The atmosphere feels charmingly Indian with beautiful Indian quilts on the walls and a bit of music to match, and columns and always busy. I think it may be an old converted house, it's on Roosevelt St, not in the heart of the U district, parking is available free. This is one of our "go to" places we frequent. Discovered it because our neighbors used to be Indian & wanted us to try authentic foods a few years back. And as a real testimonial, my mother & sister being conservative midwesterners used to steak and Mexican, absolutely did not want to go there when they visited a couple of years ago. Well, finally got them to be adventurous & try it.... and then, wow, we had to go back a couple more times for them they loved it so much!! My favorite dishes: chicken tikka masala, spinach paneer, shrimp biryani. Hubbie loves jalfrazie & vindaloo..... AND, definitely, order Naan. Sometimes we order 2, just so we can take some home!

Every time I visited, I have some coupon with me and I end up not using it. Because their food and service is so good that it feels worth every penny they are charging. I have been their customer for more than 10 years now but visit them around once or twice a year. Never had a single instance when I didn't like their food or service. Always stellar.

We went with our family members to the Taste of India for dinner. We usually like to sit outside but the weather was not great so we sat inside. The service was great we never had a problem. The tamarind sauce with mint was outstanding, I could have eaten that all day. We had prawn vindaloo, lamb biryani, lamb tikka masala, garlic naan and baklava. Everything was excellent and at the end of the meal we were served a piece of complementary chocolate covered cheese cake. Like another reviewer stated their spicy is more mild than spicy. Also the vindaloo and tikka masala were very similar in taste.

You need transportation to get there if you are visitor. But foods are great and staff are very nice! They have restaurant and bar. You can go as big family too which we were party of 6. If you want to try something different this is the place you won't be disappointed.

We went here when my daughter was home from college as Indian food is her favorite. We recently moved here from the East Coast and we hadn’t found “our” Indian restaurant yet. Well we just did. Not only was the dinner amazingly delicious, but the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. The venue itself is charming and homey. We will be regulars from now on.

This is definitely our go to place for Indian food. The quality of the food served is really good and delicious and the service is great every time! They provide desert on the house! The (garlic) naan is Amazing!!!

We got ours from uber eats. It was delivered and packed wonderfully piping hot. Food was so delicious, wonderful flavors, very good value. We will definitely return!

This is one of the best places to eat Indian food that I've found in Seattle. The vegetable samosas's are the best in the city, by far. I was served the largest single piece of naan that I've seen. The eggplant Bharta was also very good. Service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

Taste of India - don't judge by the decor or location. The menu is extensive, we ordered Chicken Tikka, Keema and Plain Naan, Taste of India Delight, Mango Chicken Curry, Rogan Josh. Needless to say way too much food equals great leftovers for dinner! The service is always really good, wait staff come by often to refill water, soda's, etc and always speedy. My only complaint - parking is always a challenge in this neighborhood, but so worth it.

Four of us each ordered different dishes and we shared. Each meal was fabulous. Their chai tea is excellent. The service couldn't be better. This is the second time I've eaten here. Last year while visiting Seattle a friend took me here and since I was back in Seattle I wanted to go again. Great food, great service!

Good reviews on Google encouraged us to visit this place in Seattle. Located in a quiet neighborhood (be slightly careful at night), the restaurant is very clean and offers fast service. A good place for a quiet date (if you don't mind spicy, Indian food). The food was tasty, served hot, with large proportions. The naan (bread) was excellent. Loved the complimentary sweet at the end.

Food was fast and plentiful. They gave us a few extras too! The best part was how good it tasted! Everyone's dish tasted wonderful. We would certainly go back again.

My wife, daughter, her husband, and my two grandsons went to Taste of India on my birthday. We have been there before and knew what to expect. We ordered the bread called naan which was a big hit. I ordered Mango Curry with paneer, which is a type of cheese. The serving was big enough to take some home with me. When the meal was done I was treated to a free New York cheesecake with mango sauce. Several others helped me finish the dessert in no time. Since my daughter and her family had driven about two hours to share this time with me, it was nice to have a restaurant that served food we all love and was quiet enough so we could catch up on each other's doings.

I really enjoy going to Taste of India for lunch when I happen to be in the University District. I know that I've mentioned this is some previous review but you must try the vegetable samosa's they are wonderful.

The Shish Touk was amazing. Perfect flavors. Big portions. The chai tea was fantastic. I totally recommend this place.

We were here with a fairly large party for lunch. We sat outside on the patio where they were able to accomodate us. It was really nice that they served us some complimentar samosa appetizers. (I'm guessing because we were a large group.) The samosas were very good. Our group ordered a variety of dishes. I had a vegetarian pineapple curry. It wasn't the best curry I've had, but it was passable. Portions were just the right amount for lunch. I also had a mango lassi, which was quite sweet and less spice than I'm used to. Service was a bit disorganized. They were very nice, but our food came out at different times. And we had to keep reminding them of various condiments we asked for. Prices were good. They allowed our group to take our time with the meal. I would return again.

Family run establishment hampered by its location. Good food, cramped and drafty dining areas. We always enjoy the selection and preparation of the food, appetizers, main dishes and desserts. Everyone works hard to offset the poor location, free appetizers and desserts! When the temperature gets below 40 the front room feels like an ice box! It is actually warmer waiting outside under the gas heaters. Definitely a place to go when it is warm. Three people, one appetizer, three entrees, and a dessert for $62 + tip.

I've eaten here several times over the past few years. It's not fancy but the Indian food is very tasty, portions are good, service is prompt and friendly, and prices are good. I will continue to return.

I love Indian Food and have been to many of the local Indian restaurants over the past years. There are always new ones opening as Seattle and surroundings have a large Indian population and there are a few long term staples we go to for 20 years now. While Taste of India is not one I had considered one of my staples, we had some decent, not great, but decent meals there over the past many years, usually when we meet with friends. So when they suggested to go there, we agreed. Last two times we were there for lunch, the place was packed, this time, around noon, it was very empty, maybe 4 tables occupied. Outside the restaurant it smelled like what you expect, curries, spices, etc. Going inside though, the first whiff was of sour milk, stale milk or something like it. Service came quick, but was indifferent. “Are you ready” was all she said, rather than, hello, how are you etc. People recommended the Spinach naan in the past and we ordered it as an appetizer thinking of naan, hot wonderful naan filled with creamy spinach and fresh spinach leaves (as we had had in the past). What a disappointment. The naan did not seem to come out of the tandoor, but seemed to have been done in a pan, then drenched in Gee, the spinach filling tasted burned and looked like it was left over spinach paneer heated up in a pan, burned in the process and then smeared onto/into the naan. Not what we expected and not what we had in the past. We left most of it. The chicken Korma was ok, but bland, even though we asked for spicy. The other dishes were equally non-descript and everyone left half of the food on the table. Over the past two years, Taste of India has added some Mediterranean dishes to their selection. We tried the Gyro plate today, bad choice again. The meat was not what a normal gyro meat should be, shavings of various meats coming from a vertical spit roaster, but four slices of some pressed meat, all the same color and shape, nothing good looking at all. On top of it, it smelled and tasted off and we left most of it on the plate. Not a good lunch experience. I don’t know what happened but the experience this time was way off from the past, the empty restaurant should have been an indication this time. I’m not sure I’d try this place again considering the other great Indian restaurants in the area.

So many people in my extended family love this restaurant. I recently visited with my grandson. We enjoyed the spinach naan as an appetizer and then the mango curry as our meal. Excellent taste and service.

Was listed in our hotel dining guide and on the same street so we gave it a visit. Very busy for a Wednesday night but staff were still attentive . We all enjoyed our choices which were very tasty. Complementary cheesecake a bonus.

Recommended by a friend. Great menu selections, lots of vegan and gluten free options, busy place. Large portions. We could have shared with 2 other people. Chicken dishes melt in your mouth and the spinach paag was Yummy! The wait staff was great, expect not to rush in here, great food takes time to prepare. I will come again.

Party of five on Saturday evening with reservations for 6.30; took 15 minutes past the reservation time to seat us, and an ADDITIONAL 10+ minutes before a waiter appeared. Several were rushing back and forth; no clue why the 25 minute delay? OK. Food was good but not stellar. Spinach naan was wonderful but garlic naan was disappointing, doughy, not tasty. Pineapple curry was surprisingly good, but meatballs ordered with spiciness "*5* -- as hot as your kitchen will make it" was, well, pretty disappointing. About at "3" of five in spiciness. WHY?? Rest of meal made us want to look elsewhere for Indian food in Seattle. Please improve!

Love this place!!! Excellent Indian food and attentive service. The management always seems to remember patrons and offers complimentary desserts! The outdoor patio is fun in the summertime. Never ever disappointed with this place!!

This place is bigger than it looks. We were seated all the way on the north end where you had to take a few turns to get to, but it was like having our own private room without the doors. As others have commented, the wait staff is great (refreshing change from other types of Asian restaurants) and they can belt out a good happy birthday song. All of our choices of food were good, too. The tandoori surprise has a little bit of everything. Little bit means 2 prawns, a few pieces of fish along with everything else. Everything else seemed like it was a lot more because of the nature of the meat (e.g., chicken). The dal maharani by itself with rice will fill you up if you are a single diner. Our party was larger so we also had the shish kebab and garlic naan, which was also good. Would definitely go back.

I visited this restaurant for the first time today for lunch and found it to be "just OK". I guess I was expecting to enjoy my meal to be much more enjoyable after reading some outstanding reviews. I have been eating Indian food for more than 50 years, both in the US and Asia and I guess my standards are set high. For Indian cuisine I find that Pabla in Renton is closer to my tastes I did find the garlic naan was well prepared and quite tasty. However the palak was much too salty for my palate and the chai overly sweet.

We have been eating here for years, and even after we moved to the east side of Seattle, over 6 years ago, we still make the hour plus drive for Indian food here. Taste of India has the best lamb vindaloo we have ever had, in fact everything we've had here is delicious. It's not fancy but it's consistent and delicious every time.

Excellent meals served by friendly staff. The shrimp in a spicy Madras sauce, the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Nan, the Spinach Nan, the vegetarian dishes were all very tasty. The spinach nan was so good I saved some for breakfast. As a matter of fact, everything was so good here that we made two trips during our four day visit!

Dear God in heaven, my navratan korma was amazing! And the staff was so friendly and attentive. If I lived in Seattle, this would be my spot!

great attentive wait staff, good menu, food is well prepared, terrific naan breads, good beers, have never been disappointed

We went to India hoping for good as good as here, and were sorely disappointed. Sure, you could get naan 5 for a dollar and could feed a family for less than 5 dollars, but most of it was pretty mediocre. Way better to stay in the US and get the best Indian food ever than go to India and be sorely disappointed.

The owner tried to ensure we were looked after. He was going from table to table to inquire about anything that he could help with. There was complimentary chai whilst waiting for a table & also whilst at the table. This was a child friendly restaurant. The staff/waiters & waitresses were busy but still helpful. Food was good!!!

This restaurant has excellent service and the food is great as well. This a rare combination these days. There naans are particularly huge and deserts are awesome.

This was best Indian food we ever ate! The portions are big and the prices were fair.

We went there for lunch loved the service and the food. The menu had a lot of options to choose from both veg and non-veg. The chai was awesome and it was unlimited :) One piece of advice the biryani is more of a Pulao so avoid that . Everything else was great specially the chicken naam

Taste of India offers not only Indian dishes, but it also has a small selection of Mediterranean dishes. It should stick to one thing and do it well. I chose from the Mediterranean menu, and my husband chose Indian. Neither of us did well. My babaganoush did not have much of the smoky taste which makes it so distinctive. (I almost think the eggplants were not charred at all, but we're given a dose of liquid smoke. Yes, there is such a thing!) Lamb kebab was just dreary, surrounded with a lot of sort-of cooked vegetables. My husband, who loves Indian food and was looking forward to this adventure, could not eat the soup at all. Called Dal, it was a lentil soup in which he could not find a lentil. His comment about the eggplant stew, Baigan Bhartha, he had was, "Well, after you get used to,the taste, it's not so bad." The people we were with were also underwhelmed. The naan and the pita were excellent .service was slow, but otherwise pleasant. Noise level tolerable.

This is our local favorite, a close one and a half mikes away by bike. We went last night and sat in outside patio. Place is always crowded. Servers are excellent and sooo friendly. Get the Masada tea, or iced masala.... you get unlimited refills.

Second trip to this restaurant was even better than the first, food wise. Everything was good - aloo golbi, chicken tikka masala, raita, garlic naan. We had rogan josh last time, which was also good. Neverending iced or hot chai. There was no wait, even on a Friday evening - this restaurant is run very efficiently. However, we did have one sever working our table who came by twice to remove our curry dishes without asking. They were mostly empty, but we were sopping up the gravy with our naan...and we were surprised and sad when she quite literally grabbed the dishes off the table (on two occasions) without even making eye contact. So we had half a giant naan and nothing to dip it in. This almost makes me want to drop a star. In fairness, though, the other staff were very nice and the food really was good. Overall, would recommend!

Located near the U-District, this place has the best Indian Food I've ever had in Seattle, I often order take-out, and they serve their amazing chai tea while you wait. The dining room is small and cramped, but who cares, it's the best Indian food you'll find. The lamb dishes are wonderful, and are the Tandoori prawns. The owner greets you and often remembers your name.

What a fabulous lunch today! The chai is absolutely out of this world, and they keep refilling it so it's always hot. Our lunches were served just as we ordered, and we even had leftovers to take home. Excellent food, excellent service - what else could you possibly want?

Met up with friends for dinner. It had been a few years since we’d eaten here. It has been in the U District as long as I can remember. Had always been a favorite of mine. It did not disappoint. We had early reservations which was good so we were seated right away. By 6:30 there was a long line of people waiting for tables. The waitstaff was attentive and efficient. They did not rush us. The food was excellent. Spiced to order. I did drink too much chai. They were constantly refilling my cup. I will return more frequently.

This is my fourth time at this restaurant. I'm from Florida, but I travel to Seattle occasionally. I never miss an opportunity to dine at this restaurant. The food is fabulous and I've never had Kashmiri naan like they make it. I always tell the host how much I like the restaurant and that I leave good reviews. He always thanks me and does something special for me and my friends.

We have visited this restaurant on and off four times over four years. Each time we have come out happy and satisfied. The hot chai while we waited was a life-saver and the chana masala, paneer dishes and the naans were delicious. We were also served excellent complimentary fritters - pakoras with mint and tamarind chutney. Even the three year old - youngest - member of our party enjoyed the food. The service was excellent and the manager came around himself to check out our reactions. We also got a complimentary dessert.

We came here with friends, who have eaten there every time they come to this neighborhood. We enjoyed the friendly and professional service, the appetizers, the main meal, the naan, the sauces that come with it, and - - - oh, the chai! Fabulous. My husband chose the gyro from the Mediterranean menu, and I had mango curry with tofu - absolutely delicious. Our friends had what they have every time because they love it so much, the chicken (don't remember the exact name), and other Indian food. There was enough food for another meal at home.

We have eaten at Taste of India for years, and ordered takeout as well. It has always been reliably delicious... until now. Our first clue that things might be awry was the inclusion of a $10 coupon for our next purchase. Then we noticed they had failed to include the two sauces that generally go with the naan. My lamb biryani was not up to its usual excellence, far fewer golden raisins and nuts, and the rice was dry and tasteless. My husband had the coconut curry which is historically tasty but this time had the greasy separation indicative of a poorly prepared dish. This was cery disappointing and leads us to wonder whether the restaurant has changed hands. Very sad.

Craving Indian food and found this place by accident while scrolling through trip advisor reviews. What a great find! Food is authentic Indian cuisine... Which is not easy to find. Restaurant is located on busy Roosevelt road, and parking is scarce unless you park around the corner. Restaurant was packed when I arrived on a rainy Wednesday evening. Much bigger than it looks from the outside. Decor is a little outdated, but food was super good! I ordered the paneer tikka as an appetizer, and the chunks of cheese were huge!!! The mint and chutney dipping sauce was An added treat to the appetizer. The chicken madras was perfectly cooked with the right amount of heat. The basmati rice with saffron was a great addition to the meal. I will definitely go back as soon as I get the opportunity. Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant deserves a 5 star, but gave it four due to outdated decor.

I look forward to dining here every time I go out to Seattle. My last trip, I ate here twice. Located close to U Dub. Easy to walk to. They have almost every variation of Indian cooking and what is really impressive is how many options there are. I love Vindaloo but have only ever seen it with lamb. Here you can get lamb, beef, chicken, fish or veggies Vindaloo. Same applies to all the other sauces. Very unique. I love Indian food but the dishes here are incredibly delicious. The service is simply amazing. I agree with many other reviewer that this may be the best service at any restaurant. Good selection of craft beers also.

This was not bad or exceptionally good. You won't be disappointed, but it will probably taste a lot like the average Indian restaurants you've already dined in. We ordered chicken curry, naan, and onion kulcha. The kulcha was excellent. The bread was soft, the onions were tender, and it had just the right amount of butter/ghee on it to feel indulgent. The mango lassi was also very good.

We went there....yes it was crowded....there was waiting....surprised by the hospitality, chai was offered to us and andes mint choc for children. The management is sytematic. We ordered shahi paneer, naan and daal fry...sumptuous portions and authentic taste....gulabjamun came in as complimentary. The mango lassi was fantastic and was served in a large glass, reminding you of a real punjabi treat. Staff is well groomed and the service upright. Decent ambience in a squeezed place. Its little noisy out there with the sound of talks and plates with spoon hits and serves, it gets rockous at times. A relishing, enjoyable experience.

I had the aloo paratha and a jalfrazie that was large enough to be a meal on its own. Everything was flavorful, service was excellent and the portions were generous. Can't go wrong here.

I was never an Indian food lover until eating at Taste of India. The tandori bread was amazing! We ordered 3 dishes and all were amazing. The TANDOORI PANEER was amazing as well as the TANDOORI CHICKEN TIKKA, the BUTTER MASALA and TIKKA MASALA . You can find authentic Indian food –rich curries, creamy masalas. I will return!!

Over priced - RIP OFF. Have ordered for delivery......extremely small portions for large portion prices. Food does not have 'heat' if you order for heat. Will not order from this place AGAIN. The flavors are good but I can't overlook the fact that they charge WAY too much for such LITTLE food portions returned. Rather sickening.

I recently discovered Taste of India, and in Seattle proper, this is the best indian restaurant. The owner of the restaurant and staff are extremely inviting and often go out of their way to please you. There is a number of staff roaming around so your entree is never far away and your glass is never empty. Also, they will often thank your visit with a complimentary appetizer or dessert which is a rare and charming. The array of choices on the menu is mouthwatering. I am picky about Indian breads and chai and this restaurant has my approval!!' Things to note are that the parking can be tricky (although there are several reserved spots) and the place has bad acoustics so when it's busy it's a bit noisy and the pleasant music is drowned out. Also with roaming staff it's sometimes difficult to identify who's your waiter and who's just roaming.

Everything about Taste of India was over the top: the service, the excellent food, the always full cup of Chai, and a fun crowd. It was busy but we never felt rushed - only welcome and special. If you like Indian food but especially if you want to try it for the first time this is the first place to visit.

This is my go to for Indian take away. My favorite dishes are the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Coconut curry. Never disappointed

This place is amazing. The food is outstanding. Can get busy at night but I have never had to wait for more than 10 minutes for a table. Would recommend.

Warm and friendly, this restaurant seems to be in such an out of the way location. Had our Uber driver not told us about it we probably would have missed the experience. Deep, rich flavors in the Nan, curry dishes and dessert. The staff was really great, and about 4 different people stopped by for one reason or another. This feels family run, in a good way. We saw other couples and large groups enjoying themselves.

I've been going to this place with friends for years. The food is always delicious and it comes quickly. The service is friendly and the manager is very nice. They have a very nice beer selection. Sometimes the service won't stop filling your water but if you order spicy food that will help. You can almost always count on a free dessert!

Food is just great Very flavorful Only thing is packaging not so great for takeouts other than that all stars

I am eagerly trying to find descent Indian food in the States, with all my attempts failing so far. We visited yesterday Taste of India, after reading all these wonderful reviews in TA and google. By no means we are experts in Indian cuisine, but having lived in the UK for more than 10 years we are quite used to these flavours. Anyway, as soon as we entered this cute restaurant we were sited by a smiley waiter who instantly offered us water (bonus) and two samosas. We only opted for vegetarian dishes, so my review is a bit biased. We had the vegetarian mixed starter (samosas, pakoras etc), okra masala, vegetarian karai ghost and a spinach naan. The curries come with rice, which is a nice touch! The starters were fine (how wrong can deep frying go?) and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Now the mains.. To begin with, the okras were uncooked! This is supposed to be slow-cooked okras in masala spices.. instead it was defrosted okras thrown on a “lets call it” masala sauce. The sauce itself was a bit tasteless, and less strong than a pre-made sauce out of a jar! On top, it wasn’t hot at all. The karai ghost dish was a complete disaster! Luke warm defrosted peas together with onions and some other veggies (eg cauliflower) in a watery bland sauce. No taste, no spices, not even resembling to Indian dishes. We had absolutely no idea what this dish was, and why it actually existed on the menu! Having tried numerous Indian restaurants in the past, all over the world, this is the first time I come across to a dish that tastes nothing! Perhaps the meat curries are better, which explains the good reviews. However, our vegetarian dinning experience was bad. The only good part was the service!

Bewildered by the positive reviews. On the plus side, everyone here is very pleasant, the food comes out quickly and the offerings are broad. That apart, there was much to be unhappy about. The paneer tikka was a startling, radioactive shade of orange that and had a disturbing aftertaste. The Gobhi (Aloo Gobhi) was undercooked and was a one-bite-and-done affair. The lamb Shahi Korma was decent, but decent was as good as it got. The inside of the restaurant had a heavy, not-entirely-fresh odor. The outside was a little better, but they could do a lot better on cleanliness/hygiene. Saffron Grill has an identical menu (perhaps the same management?) but is altogether cleaner and the food fresher tasting. Nirmal’s is more expensive, but dramatically better on taste/quality.

I am no Gordon Ramsey but the chicken was definately frozen and presented in what would resemble more of a seafood texture covered in slime and fat. Parts of chicken was soft whilst other parts were hard. Me and my husband are the rice and promptly left. We are not fancy eaters and quite often eat cheap but even this was not worth the money. Staff hoovering the floor around your feet whilst you ate and was cleaning the table while you was sat at it. Staff were however very friendly but the food sadly didn't live it up to their enthusiasm.

This restaurant is unique, it's an Indian that's not an Indian, despite it not having many dishes I recognised on the menu, when I said I wanted a jalfrezi he said not a problem they would make it for me, sadly it wasn't actually like any jalfrezi I had ever had, it wasn't unpleasant but it wasn't what I expected. Beer was great, couldn't make a Gin and tonic worth drinking. The owner/ server went over and beyond to make our visit good, but I went be use I wanted an Indian meal, but it's not an Indian!.

When in the University District, we always come here for lunch. Outstanding food. Informal setting. Lots of outside seating. Popular spot. This time we shared palak masala(paneer) and another vegetarian dish ( see picture). Naan and their rice are always perfect. Get the chai also.

Got lost and ended up at the Taste of India. What a lucky wrong turn. Nice place, great staff and the food was top notch. Add free parking to the mix and this is the place to go for real Indian food

My wife and I went here for dinner. We have a friend who lives in the University District and he loves this restaurant, and he said it was recommended to him by an Indian friend. The place was packed in a Saturday night. There were a dozen people waiting inside to be seated, and a dozen more outside. But they have space heaters outside to keep you warm while you wait. Also they handed out hot Chai tea to the people waiting which was nice. The inside is very warm and nicely decorated. The service was outstanding. We started with a Grape Leaves appetizer, which we enjoyed ($8.99). My wife also ordered a House Salad ($5.99) with a Mediterranean dressing. We didn't care for the dressing though. I had the Lamb Rogan Josh ($17.99) one of my faves. A tomatoey, slightly spicy sauce over chunks of lamb, served with Basmati rice. It was excellent. We opted an order of Naan bread ($2.99) since the meals didn't come with bread. My wife had the Coconut Curry over chicken, also served with rice. She said it was also excellent. The prices are a little high, but typical for Seattle. Our only complaints were that they brought ALL of our food at once, instead of bringing the appetizer/salad before the main course, which happens to be a pet peeve of mine. That and the tasteless salad dressing. If not for those things I would rate it 5/5. I will probably go back though.

One of the best restaurants in the city if you're looking for Indian food. I really enjoyed the potato and cauliflower curry on my most recent visit. The service is good.

Taste of India has been around a long time. I love Indian food and this place really is a good choice for anyone who likes Indian food. The portions are very generous. A favorite of mine is the Aloo Gobi and the plain nan.

No place for Indian Food can be better than this. This place is a rare combination of awesome food and exemplary customer service. I simply wish that they could open another branch in east side of lake Washington to break the monopoly of pathetic Indian restaurants, who indeed offer good food at times, but have surprisingly bad customer service and rowdy management and waitresses, looking at whom, will never feel like eating !

I ordered the tandoori surprise. It includes chicken, beef, and shrimp. I had the pleasure to taste all types of meat. It’s really good. Rice is well done. Service is great. They’ll do whatever you ask them. Prices are correct. Parking has improved (more spots across the street).

The service by the owner is astonishing. He is always humble and be there to serve his customers. Food is perfectly blended and fresh. Definitely recommend to everyone.

This place serves arguably, the best Indian food in Seattle. The Garlic Naan is simply awesome, and so flavorful that you won't even miss the curry. The parking was surprisingly easy to find for a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant has a small parking lot, but there is ample street parking. We were seated almost immediately, and were welcomed with a great service. Everything we ordered was a hit. Right from the Paneer Rogan Josh and Madras Spicy chicken, and down to succulent Gulab Jamuns and tea, every item on the menu is fabulous. It is definitely a place worth recommending, and we will continue to visit this place for Indian food during our time in Seattle.

The problem is they have I believe 2 chefs. one is very good able to make excellent dishes especially butter chicken. the other is not very good. I can taste the difference. i have told them about it they have not made any changes. keep the better chef for everyday or teach the other chef how to cook like the other one please

Visiting from Canada. Driving around looking for dinner and so glad we found this place! The outside covered patio with heat lamps was lovely, the service was good, the food came fast and my 7 year old ate everything! Definitely would return and recommend.

High quality food. Great meal recommendations. Exactly what I wanted. Naan was HUGE! Delicious. Rogan Josh with chicken was so good!

We went to A Taste of India before a show. The service was exceptional. We had 5-6 people attend to us in some manner during our dinner. We had a complimentary appetizer on the table immediately after being seated. The food was great with generous portions. Wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We never felt rushed although the place was bustling. Dinner was very reasonably priced and ended with a complimentary dessert.

We dearly enjoyed an early Saturday dinner. By 6:30 the line to get in was out the door. Quick friendly efficient service staff. Vegetable cutlets for appetizer were solid and tasty. Eggplant was very nice. Lamb biriani had many but not all needed ingredients: needed a few nuts to complement fruit — and fragrant herbs on top to serve. “Just short of fabulous.” Large portions. And the American- scale of spicing was tame. “Medium hot” was roughly 2 of 5 scale at places we are accustomed to. Still, we’ll happily return.

Large menu, but it is missing my wife's favorite Indian dish - butter chicken. There was six of us and we had a variety of kormas, marsalas, tandoori, and curry. Also garlic naan roti, an order of samosa. One of us had the mango lassi - the rest of us just had water. We were also served an order of mini pakora and one piece of cheese cake on the house. The total bill was slightly over $120 for six of us. The service was good and appropriate - not too much or too little. The food was all good, no complaints, which for my family is unusual :-). Everyone left happy and full.

Found the Taste of India on TripAdvisor and we are so happy we hit the UDistrict to check it out. We arrived at prime time, 7pm Friday night and the place was hopping but we were seating immediately. The food order was taken quickly and arrived almost as we finished ordering. The flavors were excellent and the naan is huge, so one between two people is good. We'll be back for sure.

excellent place for indian food. awesome curries & nans. starters are fabulous. you will love to come here more often,

I love Taste of India and I've been going there for years (I go there at least once a year, but hardly more than that, but every time I go there, they remember me, which is really nice since I'm barely ever there). Anyway, I think the food is excellent, the service is great, and the ambiance is very cozy. This is more of a neighborhood place (so it would be really helpful to have a car if you were going here), but if you do have a car and like Indian, I'd make the drive to this little lovely restaurant!

The atmosphere of the dining room was warm and cozy. The staff was attentive. The okra item that we had was excellent. The portions were large. We did have a chicken dish that that was quite good also. The only thing that was a bit disappointing to all of us was the Nan. We had a plain one and a garlic one. I did not have a drink, but my companions had a Chai and a plain lasse. Both enjoyed their selections. I would go back again.

This is a sibling restaurant to the Cedars in U district (Indian food, not the one on 43rd) and used to serve much better food for value than Cedars, but it has become somewhat like Cedars. Their food was good, but not good enough for the increase in price about a year or so ago. Still, it is one of the favorite Indian spot for a lot of people.

I met some friends here for dinner and had a wonderful time, as it offered delicious food in a pretty yet laidback environment. The vegetable kofta and the tandoori chicken were both fantastic! Friendly staff and reasonable prices. We sat in the patio and appreciated that they had heat lamps available for customers.

I love Indian food, and have eaten at a huge variety of Indian restaurants in many cities. This is my favorite Indian restaurant! It is very unassuming from the outside, but the inside is beautiful and cozy. There are romantic nooks for couples, and busier areas for families. Flavors are amazing, prices are reasonable. If you live in Seattle and haven't been here yet - go.

I had come here alone for lunch and was really satisfied with quality of food and service. During my second visit, we were a group of 14 people. They made seating arrangement for us within 10 minutes. We ordered most of the special dishes (veg & non-veg) served in the restaurant starting from starters, drinks, naan, curry, biryani and desserts. Everyone enjoyed the food. The customer service is very good and prices here are economical.

Once again, on a visit to Seattle, we chose Taste of India. This is a friendly place with wonderful aromas and delicious food. It is always busy but feels very comfortable...so cozy on a rainy night! A small complimentary appetizer with wonderful sauces welcomes you along with great service! Try the basil nan as a larger appetizer. Everything we have ever ordered is so good!!!

The meal was good but not great. The favors didn’t mesh well for me and I felt that my normal favorite just seemed off. I enjoyed the mango lemonade fer sure. The restaurant was nice and treated us to a mango cheesecake which was pretty good too. Just not sure if this was an off night if just plain out not the best taste of India out there.

Great food, friendly service and full of young people. We had a wonderful evening and I would highly recommend it for great Indian food.

I have been here twice and each time I paid a lot for stinky below average food! The bread tastes like nothing and the curry is bland. I cannot believe how over rated this place is! It is always packed and it stumps me! The service is fantastic despite being overwhelmed with customers. But the food is really really not good. I would like to go back and give it a third times a charm thing but I just can't bring myself to do it.

This is our second visit. The food is fresh and healthy. Portions large to share with the table. The flavors are so good and balanced. Definitely our favorite. Will return when we visit Seattle.

I ate here twice during my visit to Greenlake and both times service was impecible and the food excellent. Their Masala is perfect. I'm a vegetarian and almost every dish can be made with Tofu (which I don't care for) or vegetables, which I love. The stuffed Naan is some of the best I've ever tasted. Everything is generous and they bring you new things to taste. Parking is available, but we walked. Its on a busy street, but you wouldn't know it once you get inside. I can't say enough for the service. Prices were good for what you receive.

A group of us eats here every so often. I am not an expert on Indian food, so I don't "great" from "ordinary". Have a had variety of dishes myself, and sampled others. They are tasty, are made with fresh ingredients, and well presented. Service is good, too.

Just had my birthday dinner for 10 here. They gave us wonderful appitizers for no cost, the food was, as usual , excellent and they brought me the most wonderful birthday cheesecake, with fresh homemade mango sauce. I love this restaurant, the management, the staff and the food. Service can be somewhat slow on weekends. Small free parking lot, limited street parking on weekends so be prepared to walk a block or two. Make a reservation.

We were really hungry and the waiter brought us free appetizers with the menu which we appreciated. The food was great and our bill was $22 for two. I got an important work call and left my husband to pay the bill while I stepped outside- but he said they also brought him a free desert. I would go back when in Seattle, would go regularly if I lived there.

We've been coming to this restaurant for over 16 years! The food and service is consistently excellent. A very popular restaurant, so expect to wait most times, but the service is so good they move tables very quickly! We usually order the same thing; garlic naan with peach and mint chutney, tikka masala with prawns, madras chili masala with lamb, mulligatawny with pappadam, chai and red wine. Prices are mid range. My husband and I would pay more to eat here. You should try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed!

Looks small on outside but seems to go on forever on the inside. Taste of India is a place rare combination of awesome food and exemplary customer service. Offer complimentary appetizer and dessert. would like to go back....!!!!!!

The food here is simply outstanding I come here many times during the year and order the Royal Biryani and the Chicken tikka Masala Their Naan is delicious

We eat here at least once every time in Seattle. This is one of the top Indian restaurants in the country in my opinion...and we travel extensively. We order 5-6 dishes every time because we can't ever decide - but always order the mutter paneer, lamb jalfrezzi and butter chicken plus the garlic naan. This time we also ordered the chicken tikka appetizer and asked for a special order of salmon tandoori. OMG - these two appetizers were spectacular. We crave this restaurant and agree with the other reviewers - you really should make it a point to eat here.

We enjoyed a Friday night dinner here recently. We ordered the vegetable korma, palak paneer, and garlic naan. The dishes were delicious, although a touch on the small side for the price compared to other Indian restaurants we've gone to. They do give you a HUGE amount of rice, but we would prefer the curry to be larger, and rice to be smaller. The naan is exceptionally large as well. We still ordered two because we love it so much, and don't really eat much rice. Definitely a lot of variety on the menu. Service was quick and very attentive. Perhaps a little too attentive for our preference. The second we were done, they were taking our dishes, and wiping the table. That made us feel a little rushed, but I think they were just trying to be efficient. They brought us out a free dessert which was a nice touch. Overall, decent meal and atmosphere. We would return again sometime.

Simply amazing. Veg. Jaipuri, Baklava, Roti & Samosas are top class. Best owner who really cares. I consider this best Indian food along with Saffron Grill in Seattle area.

Very clean and professional staff working there food was very good and freshly made and good at taste also , and the place is good and neat

Loved the vegetarian combo appetizer plate. the cilantro sauce was delicious. All of us liked the bread and all our entrees were yummy!

Anytime I'm remotely close to Taste of India, I'm thrilled to have lunch here. The service is always perfect. So friendly and accommodating. And the food is well-priced and absolutely fabulous. Don't miss the naan as an appetizer. It's amazing and comes with dipping sauces. We could make a meal of it! Love the paneer and the masala. It's always hard to decide. Everything I've ever had here has been wonderful.

I received a $50 coupon to use on my birthday. The restuarant would not honor the coupon. The Taste of India now wants everyone to order on line. I was not able to order online and not able to redeem my coupon - I was a regular customer who ordered take out a couple times a month. Now I will be the former costumer who tells you how they really treat you.

We visited the resturant post visit to zoo and family (including parents) were pretty hungry. Food was served in quick time and was pretty good. Special mention for their Naan... size reminds me of Punjabi by Nature back in India :). I found restaurant bit expensive compared to Redmond but then you need to pay some premium for vegetarian Indian meal :)

We came from out of state with friends we were visiting, so it was our first time there. One of our friends is Tibetan, so a lot of the staff knew her and they treated us like honored guests. Since most of the ordering was done by our friend, I'm not entirely sure what we got, but I'll take my best guess according to the pictures. The vegetarian delight appetizer had a selection of delicious tidbits. We had a couple of curries including one with lamb, and a paneer dish that was wonderful. On the down side, the restaurant was extremely busy, and we were seated at a table big enough for two, but the four of us were grateful just to get a table after almost a half hour wait. The table was on an outer wall shared with the patio, and the heater was blasting from that wall, making it uncomfortably hot.

There were four in our party. Everyone was happy with their selections. I had Chicken Tikki Marsala which was amazing!!! The chai tea was exceptional and refills were free of charge. The ginger mango ice cream was heavenly. The meal was finished off with a complimentary cheesecake which was absolutely delicious! I spoke to the owner and let him know how wonderful everything was. I didn't give 5 stars because the atmosphere was casual and therefore not worthy of a five star rating. (indoor/outdoor dining optional.)

OK this is a regular stop for me and my family when in Seattle. The place is always mobbed--so lately we've been having take-out. We order a wide range of food from vegetarian to lamb and chicken. No one has ever been disappointed. The food is always perfect! This is in the U district and if you are anywhere nearby, and you like Indian food, this is a definite go!

Loved this place. I met my friends for dinner during my visit to Seattle and loved it. Food is nice and not decently priced. They gave complimentary snacks and tea which was also good. We tried veg as well as non-veg verities of curries and couldn't complain about anything. I would love to go back sometime...

Nice Indian food. Gr8 collection on the menu. Nice staff and great service and reasonable prices. Give it a try

This is one of our favorite Indian restaurants. There service is awesome. I love their naan and all chicken preparations like butter chicken etc. Also, do try their Ras malai...

Taste of India is one of the best places for Indian food in the city. The samosas are the best I've had (outside of India). Large and very delicious. If you're visiting the city it would help to have a car if you're planning a visit. Give this place a try

Recommended by a friend, we went for a late lunch just to see if it really as good as touted. It definitely was. The food was great. Best Indian restaurant I've been to in Seattle. The service, even though the restaurant was packed, was fast and the staff were courteous. Will make Taste of India a standard when visiting Seattle.

Oh my, this place is such a treat! The food is delectable and addicting. This is by far some of the best Indian food our family has eaten and we have tried many Indian restaurants in Seattle, Spokane, and So. Cal. Loooove their garlic nan, coconut curry with shrimp, and tiki masala with chicken - yum! The prices are moderate and expected for this type of cuisine, they have a large selection of entrees and apps to choose from, and the service is quite fast considering the made-from-scratch flavors that delight the palette. The building it's in appears to have been a house at one point, so it's very cozy inside while still leaving plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy your meal. I knocked off one star just for the bit of iciness from the staff - they aren't the friendliest....but not rude, just a bit stand-off-ish and a bit brusque when clearing your table...almost felt rushed as if they wanted us out of there to prep for future patrons (we were in and out in less than an hour!) The parking options around here aren't the greatest, but that's to be expected just about anywhere in Seattle. And you don't have to pay for parking since it's not located in the heart of downtown. It's definitely worth circling the block a few times or parking a bit farther away to dine at this place! Highly recommend!

Taste of India continues to be one of my go to places for Indian food in Seattle. There are places that are less expensive but the quality here is better then most of those cheaper Indian restaurants. I've only tried vegetarian dishes here and they've all been very good.

I stopped here because it smells so good from the outside every time I pass by. I was very pleased by how good the food is. Service is excellent also. I will definitely be coming back here.

My wife and I try many other Indian restaurants and this is our favorite! We love the spinach naan and I particularly like the royal biryani with lamb.

Ordered for pickup and as soon as we got out of the car and smelled that HEAVENLY scent we knew we were in for a treat!! Such friendly staff and the food was incredible. The tikka masala was our favorite followed by all the different naan - I couldn’t pick a favorite!! We will definitely be returning!

I've been going to Taste of India for years now, and it's always been a great spot for a good meal. The food, selection, and service are always very good, and I've never been disappointed. Parking is a bit of a hassle, but otherwise it's a great place for a great lunch or dinner.

As you may be aware if you read my reviews often, You know that I'm a stickler for authenticity and folks who care about their craft and their customers. Taste of India in Seattle's Roosevelt district is a restaurant who strives for that level of service every day. The quality and precision they impart in their food is superb, there's no hot water tables of hours-old food in this restaurant, everything comes out of the kitchen prepared right there and then, and you can truly taste the difference. First on the list is their Baba Ganoush, which I can tell you is the best I've ever had anywhere... Their Palak Masala (Saag) whether mixed with Lamb or Tofu is honestly terrific and the seasonings on the lamb is so complex I could write a entire page on it. Their salads are chilled and fresh, soups hot and comforting and their Tandoori Grill is fresh, flavorful, moist and tender. On now to the staff and service, from the moment I walk in there's instantly ice water for me and my guests and in a flash their complimentary mini samosas with a wonderful sweet mint chutney at my table with the menu for review. The waiters are very polite and are very willing to assist you if you need some guidance and they always check to make sure your meal is prepared to the proper level of "Hotness" that you desired. On every occasion I've been to the restaurant a complimentary plate of their delicious cheesecake with mango syrup was brought to our table after our meal. Portions are exactly proper, always a little more to share or take home and they encourage it! they also provide really robust biodegradable cartons for your food ensuring your food gets home without damaging the environment or the interior of your car. Seattle is so fortunate to have a wonderful restaurant such as Taste of India.

I have been going to this place for years, and I always make sure to bring friends and family that has not been here. It is always busy, but the table turnover is pretty quick. I almost always go for the mango curry, but everything is so delicious. Definitely go for the pesto naan and order extra chutney on the side. This comes before the food, and I'm almost full by the time dinner arrives, because I can't stop. Service is phenomenal. Great for bigger parties and they do have outdoor seating in the summer.

Best Indian restaurant I have ever been in west coast. Staff were nice and also customer there were was friendly bunch! Many variety Indian dishes. Definitely going back again if I get a chance.

First off, the food is delicious. We had the standards - tikka masala, saar paneer, chicken curry, navratam korma - and all were excellent. The paneer is clearly fresh. And we went on valentine's day, thinking that it wouldn't be crazy busy as the food is delicious but who feels romantic after loading up on Indian food? Apparently, everyone else thought the same thing, and it was PACKED. But we waited only 10 minutes, and during out wait we were served delicious chai and free appetizers!! The excellent service continued throughout the meal. Even if the food wasn't awesome (which it was) I would keep coming back for the fantastic service.

We often come here for celebrations (birthdays or any other excuse) and always leave impressed with the food and service. They have a fabulous chai tea and they never let your cup get empty. The Tandori Chicken Tiki, Mango Curry Chicken, and Lamb Tiki are consistent favorites, but make sure you start with the Garlic Nan and hummus. We generally eat too much Nan and have food to take home, which makes a great lunch the next day.

I love Taste of Indias food and most of there servers. Been going there for a year now and had a really bad experience with a super rude young man who was behind the counter. Deffinitly doesn't make me want to go back.

We loved the food, went for lunch, the staff could not have been any nicer. They gave my friends each a complimentary to go cup of chai tea. We were thrilled!

Walked from the university inn to the best indian in the neighbourhood. Place was pretty much filled. We ordered some chicken and vegie with rice snd naan, watch out the naan's are bigggg. Owner was afraid we didnt like it as we didnt finish what we ordered, but it was pretty good

Decent really overpriced. The food tasted a bit bland. I have had better. Will not go back. It was 18 $ rice curry no naan.

We had take out for dinner from Taste of India. We ordered a chicken tikka masala, a tofu butter masala, a chana masala with tofu, 2 orders of plain naan, one order of papadam and an aloo pakora. Everything was delicious, but for $90 with tip, it is a little pricey. We do appreciate the tofu option which is unusual for Indian food. Our favorite dish of the meal was the butter masala with tofu. The potato pakora was also different but good.

Taste of India is a simple looking place but the food is very good. We had the Bombay Tandoori Chicken Wings as appetizer; it was quite tasty with tamarind and cilantro chutneys. The Chiken Tikka Massala was superb, with pleasant smoky overtones behind the excellent sauce. The Tandoori Prawns were also nice (they came with the same chutneys), but the Lamb Rogan Josh had too much tomato in the sauce; it didn’t have the dishes characteristic flavours. The plain and garlic nans were huge, one each was more than enough for the three of us. The raita was excellently spiced. We finished with pistachio ice cream with a mango sauce, and also had a slice of chocolate cake courtesy of the house. The bill was a modest $80 for three + another full dish for take-out, well worth it.

We found this restaurant through a Yelp search and went with high expectations. The service was initially good. The restaurant had a big staff and we were a bit on the early side so we were the focus of their attention. Not bad. Until we asked for dinner-sized plates. The server brought two plates. She put one down and noticed the one underneath had a piece of dried food on it. She surrepticiously scraped it off with her fingernail (still gagging over it) and placed it on the table! Besides that extremely unpleasant faux pas, the rest of the service was good--but that's that kind of incident that sort of sticks in one's craw. I ordered vindaloo and requested that it be their spiciest. It wasn't. And my husband agrees. It was mild at most. He thought the food had a nice flavor but he wasn't blown away. Nice?!? Still shaking my head...

I love Taste of India.. I have been doing business with this company for many years. I have made friendly connections with the owners, the staff and even the chefs! To visit Taste of India is a treat! The food is authentic, aromatic super filling and oh so yummy!! I enjoy the Indian music, the decor and natural plants with option for outsude dining. Did I mention the service? It's the BEST!! the staff is kind, gracious and very fast! My only concern is the facility it's not bg enough to care for so many visitors that visit regularly.. They deserve a big beautiful facility with larger bathrooms.. That is my only negative. I give the 10+ rating..💙👍

Oh yeah, the butter chicken and chicken curry is some good stuff! They have a delicious complementary appetizer and dessert that is really good as well. There is limited seating outside, but we sat outside and had wonderful service. This place was great, I would recommend it and go back in a heartbeat.

Wonderful friendly staff, elegant and comfortable atmosphere. Food was wonderful. Cannot wait until i return.

I loved every curry that people at my table ordered. Just amazing, authentic Indian food. The Naan was fresh and delicious. My absolute favorite, though, was the samosas. I dream of being able to make somosas even half that good. Every time I visit Seattle, I go to this amazing restaurant.
Mesmerising chutney made my day
1) Taste: Best so far among all Indian Restaurants in Seattle 2) Price: Value for money. Initially I thought it was on the higher side, but the portions are really very big. Also, they give white rice along with most dishes, so check that out before you order 3) We went for cutlets, aloo paratha, plain paratha and bindi masala. All were top in their taste, especially the chutneys or the Indian Sause they served with the cutlet was the best I’ve ever had across the globe. 4) The ambience and the Indian songs added to the flavour 5) I would love to visit this place again
