Fantastic breakfast

By Paul B |

This is a small place so there’ll probably be a queue but service and turnaround is quick. The hash is fantastic and the eggs benedict was perfect.

Nice hidden gem for breakfast.

By JoeAndrew |

Intimate space with seating in the back, past the kitchen. From other reviews, I had to try the Millionaire Bacon which was good with a lot of spiciness to it. (Glad I tried it but don’t need to have it again.) I had eggs with chorizo and hash browns. My husband had the Californian Omelet. Both were tasty and the service was great.

A haven amongst the bustle for Breakfast

By Duncan |

A tiny restaurant on Taylor. Had to queue but the line went down quickly. Clean & simple. All cooked to order. Good American breakfast choices. Coffee good. When you go in, you are not sure. However it's on the money> ENJOY.

Literally a hole in the wall.

By Cary M |

After reading the reviews I couldn’t believe how small this place is. Five (5) tables for four. And six (6) tables for two. Got there at 8:30 and two group ahead of me. By time I finished the line went out the door into the street. The food was tasty. Had the Millionaires bacon and eggs with hash browns. The bacon was unusual and had a little twang to it. I would definitely go back. Get there early so you don’t wait too long. Great service and the staff work really hard to serve their customers and get them out.

Excellent breakfast

By DizzyDoris34 |

What a great little find — had to try the home made chicken sausages - they were delicious with a hint of maple syrup. There were pots (albeit plastic) of what seemed to be homemade strawberry jam & I think the other was marmalade. Will definitely return

Nice cosy diner with plenty of choices

By AttentiveTraveller |

This was close to where I was staying so I decided to visit for Breakfast given the good reviews on here. I was anticipating it being busy so tried to go as early as I could, but even then still ended up in a queue of around 30 mins. I think to get seated straight away you need to be there well before 8:30. Once seated, I ordered the Swedish pancake as this seemed like something different. It terms of taste it was very similar to pancakes you will get in other diners, but it was much bigger. It was well presented with a dusting of powdered sugar, and plenty of fruit to accompany it along with butter. The drip coffee was quiet nice as well. The diner is quite small, with a narrow layout out so does have a nice cosy ambience. Slightly expensive for what you get, but that is standard in SF.

Great little hole in the wall

By bleph |

This little restaurant is right across the street from the Hilton and was a fabulous find. Thank you TripAdvisor. We all enjoyed our lunch which was served quickly and perfectly prepared. The burger was excellent. For place that has the word coffee in the name I was hoping for better coffee however everything was great other than that

This has to be the best breakfast

By Petrina Winchester |

This has to be the best breakfast I have had in the USA. Sure you have to queue for a while for a table but it’s totally worth it. I had the Swedish pancakes and added fruit. The pancakes were amazing and the fresh fruit was so good. My husband had omelette and it looked amazing. We would definitely go back here.

Best breakfast ever

By Jan Loerup |

Don't let you be fooled about the entrance to this coffee shop. Even though most people might just pass this little coffeshop, it is absolutely a must try when you are in San Francisco, and if you stay at Hilton Union Square, it is just around the corner. Even though the price is a little over average I will stil recommend it. I got The Taylor's Hash and upgraded the bacon to Millionaires bacon, which (for a Dane) was very interesting, and I must say - I am a fan. Everything in the dish was very well balanced and spiced really nice.

Return visit

By FlossEm77 |

This is a very small breakfast restaurant that serves fabulous food. Everything is served hot, fresh & delicious. Service was excellent, the coffee amazing & portions generous. Highly recommend Taylor Street Coffee Shop.

Large portions

By Ryan W |

There was a queue forming when I arrived at 7am. The portions were huge! Overall it’s a comfort food stop who like an interesting take on hashbrowns.

Best Dinner in San Francisco

By SOOSPARIS |

Best dining experience on all of our trips to the USA including NY. We received a shy but kind welcome there and our breakfast was a treat. Favorite for the million dollar bacon!

Special Bacon

By Jerrick Ang |

Breakfast joint for a hearty breakfast. The Millionaire Bacon is a must have. The shop is quite small, so expect a queue to get in.

6 out of 5 stars

By Steve is where? |

We had an early breakfast here while touring SF as it was close to our hotel in Union Square. It is a very small place; you can watch them cook in the small kitchen up front. It seems like the place is only 8 feet wide. The service was prompt. The coffee was reasonable good (not weak at least). The breakfast menu is nothing fancy but has a good selection. Portion sizes are very reasonable. They are famous for their bacon; however, everything we had was good. Overall a good value in an expensive city. Feels like a throwback to an earlier generation. Definitely recommended.

Quick service. Good quality.

By Jill R |

I almost didn't go into this place because it is so tiny and a pit off putting. Once inside it is actually just fine. I ordered yogurt with fruit and granola. The fruit was ripe and delicious and I was pleasantly surprised that the yogurt was plain, thick greek yogurt just the way I like it. We somehow missed the Millionaire Bacon but we will be back!

Quick service amazing bacon

By THOMAS D |

Visited by chance and loved the breakfast, the place is small but the queue went down very fast and we were seated within 15minutes. The millionaire bacon is really good and tasted superb. My wife enjoyed here breakfast as well. Would come back here just for the bacon again and again!

Watch your step

By 34S_Latitude |

I walked to the Taylor Street Coffee shop based on the high ratings on Trip Advisor. My experience there tells me something isn't quite right. The neighborhood is filthy with human waste on the sidewalks (hence watch your step in the title). The coffee was weak and just barely warm. I upgraded to the "Millionaire bacon", as I hadn't heard of it before. The bacon was very greasy and full of fat, I wouldn't recommend it. One slice of bread for the breakfast, and a small orange wedge for a garnish. The restaurant was cold as the door was left open. How this place gets the ratings it has is a mystery. Perhaps it has changed ownership recently?

Amazing breakfast!

By lauren910 |

After travelling all over the USA we had our best breakfast here! Amazing food, looks like a work of art! The millionaire bacon is incredible. Very small cafe but they serve up pretty quickly so people didn’t seem to wait too long for tables. Great service. Would definitely go again!

Breakfast and a queu

By Jenny LC Ng |

This place is small so expect a queue. Good sized portions and pleasant service. Very good quality ingredients. Nice vibe. Tasty and plesantly surprised. Only go for a full meal. Not a quick stop. Good hot chocolate. Would go again. Pricey, same as elsewhere. Expect a big bill. But prob worthwhile. Still had queues as we left.

Best breakfast in Area Union Square

By Ferry d |

At first, I recommend to go early (7:00 - 7:30) if you don’t want to wait before to be seated. Staff is kind and helpful. Dishes are cooked to order and delightful! Omelets, scrambled, pancakes, they have it all. You won’t be dissapointed!

Nice Breakfast

By Kkoleary |

We’ll run little breakfast spot frequently eaten at by many who work nearby. Outside is deceiving since Restraunt looks like just a door from street. Large portions. Enjoyed our fruit plate and citrus French Toast.

Great breakfast spot near

By Jeffrey St Charles |

Great breakfast spot near Hilton Union Square. Tiny with a handful of tables but very fast moving line even on Sunday morning. Definitely order the bacon!

Can You say Wow!

By tejasdrmr |

Walked over from Parc 55 hotel. Waited about 15 minutes for a table, we’ll worth the wait, as we waited we could see the various dishes being prepared and it helped choose the taylors hash. We also tried the millionaires bacon, wow! An orange juice an ice tea and quick service rounded out an awesome breakfast. $66 for breakfast before tip, go, don’t hesitate.

Great place, polite staff but "just" good pancakes

By thovader |

I went here as an absolute pancake lover and wanted to try theirs. I didn't order anything else, just pancakes and a coffee. As a European I was kind of disappointed to be honest as I was hoping for those typical delicious American pancakes. The ones that are available here are more like the ones I know already from Europe. Granted, they are not called American pancakes on the menu but Swedish pancakes. But then again, this wasn't really Swedish either. Don't get me wrong, they were good but really "just" good, not phantastic or anything. On a scale from 1 to 10 where 1 is the best, I'd give them a 4. The place is very cozy though and the staff was super polite and quick.

Tasty Breakfast

By Tim S |

You can easily walk past this place as it's quite small. Once inside we were promptly seated and offered drinks. Refillable coffee was the order of the day along with some pancakes and eggs Benedict. Both meals were fresh, delicious and perfect portion sizes. The staff were polite and friendly and although busy - didn't try to rush you. It's only downside was for this breakfast plus taxes and SF mandate was $50 which felt a little on the pricey side.

Awesome breakfast

By Nigel T |

Trip advisor strikes again. This is a great spot for a casual breakfast. Only a small place but the food is perfect.

Out of this world breakfast

By Nikos T |

This is a must breakfast place if you're in the area. Try to go in off-peak times though as this place is tiny and the wait can be insane.

Great Breakfast

By Deb43015 |

Can’t say enough about how delicious this was! We could walk from our hotel. We got take out as wait for a seat is long. We had citrus battered French toast, Californian omelette with hashbrowns and sourdough, and Pacifica with hashbrowns and sourdough all were outstanding!

Cute little delicious breakfast

By etele |

Went for a quick breakfast near our hotel. Such a tiny place that was packed, but we were seated in no time. Shared a chorizo and eggs breakfast with my daughter and my husband had some sort of bacon hash and eggs. All delicious!

Fantastic choices for breakfast

By Gillrj |

One of our nicest finds for breakfast. Don’t be put off by a long queue as this place has a fast turnover and you won’t be waiting long. Plus, it is worth the wait. A great variety of egg dishes, including omelettes but also all sorts of toasts, french toasts, muffins, etc. We particularly loved the freshness of the food, which is cooked to order in a matter of minutes. Lots of fresh fruit available too. Really good breakfast choice!

Lovely breakfast

By Owlincallington |

Tailor Street Coffee Shop is an excellent cafe to start your day, it is extremely popular for eat in or take away. It’s only a small place so don’t be surprised if you have to wait for a table. I was amazed how good the food was from such a small kitchen area.

Best place for yummy breakfast !

By Sunshine12677730605 |

My "go to" in SF. The Norwegian Eggs Benedict with Wasabi Hollandaise is absolutely delicious. It's SO good I usually order it every time.

Plan on Waiting for the Bacon

By Trip760937 |

Unless you are at the door when they open, you can plan on a wait for this classic breakfast experience. With less than a dozen tables in this narrow establishment, it's amazing how the tables turn over and the line moves along. The "Millionaires Bacon" is a unique and tasty serving not to be missed. A San Fran classic.

One of the best breakfasts in town

By Thomas R |

Very small but nice restaurant near Union Square. Breakfast / Omelette and also the fruit plates are very tasty 👌 Thanx a lot for the service 👍🇺🇸

Get there early !

By PepePitMD |

Fantastic little place to have Breakfast. But get there before 0730!! Great food ! The servers are fantastic! Will return

Best mango chicken sausage!

By christdaughter |

10 yr wedding anniversary trip and so we decided to try this local gem for breakfast. Prompt service. Quaint location, but food came out hot and yummy! Can’t tell you how much we loved this place.. we came home and tried replicating the chicken sausage. I had the French toast which was the bomb.com, my husband had the pancakes which were light yet filling. Had a great experience and would definitely come back.

Breakfast

By Richard G |

Stayed at the Tilden, and this place came up as a good place for breakfast and is literally one door down from the hotel. First day I had poached eggs on sourdough bread with seriously good chorizo. The coffee was getting refilled fast which was exactly what I needed after a 10h flight the night before. It certainly earned my return business. Second day I had french toast and fruit, again flawless. It’s a little pricey but expected for SF and also worth it. Apparently this place is famous for millionaires bacon but never tried it.

Breakfast spot

By sylvieleblanc04 |

Tiny restaurant which made it more intimate. Perfect portions size for breakfast, had eggs & bacon, it was amazing! Efficient and friendly staff! Would recommend strongly

Worth it

By PacoCerrillos |

Very small place, the crew was 4 people including the cook, so the wait was a bit long The exquisite food, the bad French bread and the bad coffee, it's worth ordering Benedictines and the specialty of the house which is a hashbrown with egg and bacon, delicious

Great spot for breakfast

By Steven C |

First morning after arrival in San Francisco. Excellent breakfast and lovely attentive staff Hash browns & eggs perfectly cooked. French toast and mixed berries excellent. Staff came with drinks top ups throughout

Random Breakfast

By BraveAggie |

This is my inaugural trip to San Francisco so after we landed, we searched for “best food nearby” and landed upon Taylor Street Coffee Shop!! And I’m so glad we did. I ordered the Cornflakes French Toast with Scrambled Eggs and Chicken Mango Sausage. It was delicious! The service was amazing! Thanks for the warm welcome to San Francisco!

Terrific breakfasts

By Joan H |

Ate breakfasts here twice. It's within walking distance of Union Square. Omelets with fruit side were fantastic in composition and tastiness.

Fresh OJ

By jcnyrealestate |

Good no frills breakfast that's more in line with a diner. Worth a try. The fresh squeezed orange juice tasted fresh and complimented the breakfast perfectly. The omelette was cooked well. While I prefer home fries over hash browns, the hash browns were well cooked and surprisingly tasty. As for the coffee it was a bit watered down for my preference. If you like a darker roast coffee, i would avoid getting the coffee and get some nearby after breakfast. Although if you like watered down coffee they do have unlimited refills.

Delicious fast food

By Alejandra C |

Came here because of the reviews and it did not disappoint. I ordered the French toast and added two eggs and their millionaire bacon, absolutely delicious. I extremely recommend!

Hash, BEC melt & millionaire bacon

By Jessica J |

Millionaire bacon is work the hype and I’m not even a big bacon fan! I had it on the hash and it was delicious. My husband had the BEC melt and couldn’t get enough. Fresh OJ was great too. Friendly staff - can’t recommend enough.

better than average breakfast

By newyorker59 |

Millionaire's bacon and lots of hash brown and egg based dishes make this a great morning stop. The Swedish pancakes were particularly good too.

Generous portions, large menu.

By IClean4Fun |

Great small restaurant with a large breakfast menu. Portions are generous and served hot. Walking distance from Hilton Union Square.

Great place for breakfast...

By Christophe D |

I've come here a number of years ago and was so pleased by the food that I had to come back this year. Pancakes and bacon (tested the millionaire one - nice but a little spicy). Space available is not big but service is efficient and fast. Great place, will come back

Small but good and friendly!

By Dennis D |

Great experience, it’s a small (mainly breakfast/lunch) place. Service is fast and friendly and the food is of good quality. It will get busy fast, from 8 onwards there will be a cue for sure.

Worth the wait

By Shadi A |

It is a small coffee shop on Taylor street. The inside is simply decorated, tables and chairs look old. The kitchen is in front of you. This is what I call no frills breakfast. We had Florentine omelettes and spinach and feta omelettes. The taste was amazing, coffee freshly brewed and great. The restaurant has a charming ambiance. Worth to visit and eat there at least once during your San Francisco visit.

The 25 minute wait was worth it

By MDE |

Food was good; DH and I realized later we should have shared a plate. Millionaires bacon was amazing. Tables are tightly placed. Once the lady behind me left and I scooted my chair maybe an inch back, one of the busy, busy servers asked me to please move it back. : ( This is a place everybody visiting SF should try once.

Fantastic Food

By drewjo1 |

Just had breakfast, omg amazing fresh food, great fresh fruit. Very clean, staff very nice and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Good breakfast

By passenger904 |

Small cafe next door to our hotel (Hilton SF Union Square). I read about it on TA and decided to drop by. Funky decor. Nice service. Diner food but not cheap.

A nice bit of bacon but extortionate

By Daniel B |

Early on Sunday morning we had to queue but were happy to do so encouraged by reviews. We chose millionaires bacon with fruit rather than hash browns, $21 each(?). Coffee was terrible, like brown water but that seems to be the trend in California. Bacon arrived (really good) and after a few mouthfuls realised that we had hash browns and no fruit. Usual apologies ensued but then you’re thinking, are they going to remove the hash browns, do I eat them and not pay or leave them etc. Don’t need that kind of thing. The fruit when it arrived looked lovely but was completely tasteless. Such a disappointment.

Nice brekkie place in good location

By julesm1181 |

Tiny busy brekkie place with excellent food and friendly staff. Very good coffee, jam and marmalade on table, delicious omelette with assorted fruits. As the place is quite small queues can be long but it’s worth waiting.

Nice, but why the ranking are good breakfast hard to find in SF

By Simon C |

So went to the normally trusted reviews of TripAdvisor and this seemed a great venue on the breakfast ranking. First it was 9am on Saturday so I was ok with the wait. They are highly efficient and getting people seated even large parties too. This is a skinny dinner of 4 seat table one side, 2 seat tables the other. Menu has good selection . Place is super clean too and meals come out quickly and the food was nice! That’s it. Not amazing not the best just nice! Breakfast served quickly. But I won’t tell friends when You’re In SF you must come here. I found it fairly expensive too for a cafe when you add the mandatory 18% tip. I’m not saying don’t go here it is nice food. I’m just surprised it’s got the ranking on TripA that it has.

Good food - lovely service - overpriced

By Chicky-Athens |

The food was delicious. The service was lovely. As for value, I felt it was overpriced compared to other breakfast joints in the area. And the breakfast came with only 1 slice of toast!

Breakfast was divine!

By Nelin N |

Very small restaurant but the service was great and the food was hot, fresh, and very yummy. Average pricing for San Francisco.

Excellent breakfast

By clarkeyrakes |

Very tasty breakfast, large portions and the Million Dollar bacon was delicious. Wall maps with customer home pins was pretty amazing.

Hash browns!!

By Kevin A |

Chef specials were great. Came because we saw pics of the Hash browns and boy they did not disappoint. They weren’t extremely crispy but very on point with flavor. Eggs cooked perfectly. A bit expensive, these two dishes for two without drinks came out to about $41 after tip.

Millionaire Bacon is Yummy

By MrsColleen |

I stayed right next door so how could I not be intrigued to visit this tiny place with rave reviews.... so glad I was still on east coast time and made it to the door before they opened. I would definately recommend this place but not if I had to wait in a long line. The food is really good and service is too. Space is just really tight! The bacon is something special and I went back a second time just to enjoy it again!

Delicious

By Barbara C |

Busy and small expect to wait. Omelette and Benedict we’re delicious, service is fast but not rushed out the door- a nice find

2 Years Later, Loved it Just as Much!

By Empress9999 |

Two years ago I discovered Taylor Street Coffee Shop and experienced Millionaire’s Bacon for the first time. For the past two years my husband has had to listen to me rave about It. Last week he had the opportunity to experience it first hand. I am happy to report that the experience lived up to the memory. In fact, it was even more delicious than I remembered. So, go here for breakfast. Order anything on the menu, just make sure you have it with Millionaire’s Bacon. I had forgotten how perfectly the cayenne and maple flavors blend with the texture of the thick slices. The coffee was perfect, the eggs marvelous, the sour dough toast delightful, but the bacon? The bacon is to die-for delicious!

Super Busy

By Alice T |

The bacon was delicious. It was so Busy. Also the food was cold. I was disappointed I waited an hour.

Small Gem in a big city

By Vicki E |

Arriving early in the morning not able to check in, looking for somewhere good to go for breakfast, this coffee shop was recommended to us. Being right across the street from our hotel it in the was perfect location. As a party of 5 and the coffee shop being small we had to wait about 10 minutes. The staff were polite and as the food is cooked at the entrance, the smell and look of the food enticed is to stay. The breakfast choices were good. The portions were huge! The food was freshly made, hot and delicious. The coffee was good and staff very attentive at refilling coffee and water. Nice little place to go to but also very very popular and can be difficult to get a seat without waiting a little. Definitely worth it though.

Great food and service in a small, intimate space

By Itinerant_Foodies |

We were here two times, the first time just for drip coffee to go, and the other time for a sit down breakfast. The drip coffee was ok but not wonderful. The sitdown breakfast, however, was very good. We had the pimped up hash and the forentine benedict and both had excellent flavor and were hearty breakfasts that carried us for most of the rest of the day. Service was relatively quick it was overall a great experience. Our server (Noi) did everything except cook and she did it without making it look difficult or like she was rushing. The sit-down area is small so get there early if you want guaranteed seating. We were there only a few minutes after they opened and they were half full already.

Knockout Bacon (Trust Me)

By Philip D |

This is across the road from our hotel (Hilton Union Square) and it's almost like a cafe in Amsterdam with a narrow frontage that stretches back forever. Their signature thing is Millionaire's Bacon and it's well worth try: maple or molasses with a peppery fire of background heat. Strangely addictive. The Eggs Benedict made with the MB was astonishingly good. None of the family had a bad word to say and I think we paid 3 breakfast visits here in 5 days. That says it all, really.

Very average in a sketchy neighborhood

By lalasgonepostal |

I’m a little confused why this has such high reviews. I’m thinking maybe people just don’t get much breakfast food in this area since locating a decent breakfast was tougher than I expected. However, getting to the cafe was sketchy in of itself. This appears to be in the tenderloin district of SF and while trying to navigate there as a solo female traveler early in the morning I felt extremely unsafe. The restaurant itself looked very dirty from the outside with rotting food and garbage littered all in front of the door. I stepped over everything and braved the shady characters that were roving about the streets because google says this is one of the best breakfasts in the city. I was served coffee with a dead bug in it. The new cup of coffee was extremely weak and bland. I gave up on the beverage. The meal, while good, Was nothing out of the ordinary and certainly not much better than what a typical dennys, bob evans, etc would be. Very standard and a typical American breakfast. I hurriedly ate the breakie and then rushed back to my market area hotel room. Unless you are staying in this district I wouldn’t say it’s worth venturing to.

Don’t even think about it!

By Hugh467 |

A coffee shop that only serves drip coffee? Don’t waste your time. I guess we’re spoiled living in Australia!

Great breakfast

By Anne |

Cozy place. Friendly staff with delicious food. Went twice in one week for breakfast. If there is a line it moves fast.

Best Breakfast Ever!!!!

By Danny Ace |

The taste is the bacon is outstanding. We ordered special hash browns with sunny side up eggs, that were delicious and unique.

Perfect spot for breakfast after long flight

By Redskins4Ever |

Stopped in for a late breakfast after flight in from Cleveland this morning. Unassuming but food and service was great. Simple and fresh but so satisfying. Next time I will try the millionaire bacon.

Fresh breakfast absolutlyrecommendable

By Storyteller755008 |

Great breakfast, fresh fruits and kind service offering regularly coffee. Can really recommend the coffee shop for breakfast especially when you are staying in the Tilden Hotel. It‘s right next to it.

Good breakfast spot.

By Ellie H |

I highly recommend this spot for a good basic breakfast. The coffee was the best that I have had in the area. There really isn’t a good excuse for bad coffee, but so many places do not make it well. The breakfast was very good. I ordered an omelette which was cooked well and it was huge. The wait person was friendly and efficient. My only criticism is that it came with one piece of toast instead of two. The restaurant was not overly crowded which is important to me when dining inside.

Whole in the Wall with excellent food and portions

By acalderaro |

The breakfast portions are large and very good. Really enjoyed the omelette and had a bunch of fruit included with it. Would definitely go back when I'm in San Francisco.

Perfect!

By Valtraveler |

This is a perfect San Francisco market and (mostly) coffee shop. Small but jam packed with gourmet everything. THe baked goods were outstanding (of course... they were from Tar-tine). Must have the morning bun (anytime day!)

Good food and service

By susadee |

I visited the restaurant twice in April 2025. I loved everything about it. The food tasted great, and the portions were reasonable. What I loved most was the service from the waitresses — they were very professional and highly hospitable.

Breakfast Only.

By Mary C |

We just Taylors when we are in town. They are only open until 1 PM so it is breakfast with a few lunch items. The Taylor Street Coffee Shop is a favorite of San Francisco. It has offering fresh, coffee and delicious breakfast food. They to serve a healthy breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, but also have items such as breakfast pizza. You will love their hash browns under scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and more. Their pancakes are so good and we love their French Toast. The service is fast and really nice. They are patient and kind. The place is kept very clean and there is not one thing we have ever tried that we don't like. We always got for breakfast when in town, and if not Sears, we go tp Taylors. Have a great time in the City

really good to have breakfast

By JOSH |

Really small place but really nice. we had only breakfast there, and it was good. My favourite was the millionnaire bacon. My girlfriend usually eat pancakes. they're so big. the only problem : you have to arrive at 7am if you want to find a seat. After 7am you can wait until 30min

Don’t miss out

By Stan |

You’ll miss this place if you don’t look carefully. But don’t be fooled. The best breakfast, the friendliest can’t-do-enough-for-you staff and great bottomless coffee. Worth queuing for.

Hidden gem, not to be missed! aka Breakfast Heaven

By Sarah G |

We went there because of the amazing trip advisor rating and because it is right next to our hotel („The Tilden Hotel“) - and no promises not kept! What a nice little hidden gem, but could be missed easily! We chose the RibEye Wrap and the Scrambles “South of the Border” - surely cause it reminded me also of the Ed Sheeran song “South of the border” (actually my favorite on the Collaborations album;)! And it is delicious - great scrambles with chorizo, lovely hash browns and tasty coffee with it - breakfast heaven!

Well worth a visit

By Claire O |

We were staying at Fisherman’s Wharf but made the trip downtown one Saturday morning. We arrived at 7.45 am (a little later than planned) and although there was a Queue we only waited 5 minutes for a table. The refillable coffee was nothing special but the food was really good and worth making the trip downtown for.

Small space; big flavor

By Jaimie B |

This is a small restaurant with limited room and limited seating. Depending on when you arrive, you will likely have to queue although it moves fairly quickly. In part, because the chairs are singularly uncomfortable so nobody stays very long. The food selection is good, the quality excellent and quantity very generous. That said, it’s expensive for a breakfast, but at least you probably won’t need lunch!

Best hash!!

By marinom9 |

Best hash with habanero!!!,, simply delicious!!.. small place but cozy!!. Great service! My kids ordered pancakes and were delicious too.

Millionaire Bacon is Hot

By Southerntravelers2 |

We ate at this tiny place just a block from Union Square. The food is fantastic just be careful ordering anything spicy. Ask the waitress to be sure because the Millionaire Bacon was HOT. It is a neat place that we would go to again.

Great breakfast food

By Lolo0001 |

Been going to this breakfast place for years, the quality is as good as ever. Pricey but worth it. Very small and gets busy weekends, so expect a line. Service very efficient, shouldn’t have to wait too long. Love their Californian omelet and pancakes (thinner pancakes than you might expect, but delicious!).

Quick and Delicious

By Alan B |

I was in a hurry and wasn’t disappointed. My omelette was excellent, and the service speedy and courteous

Huge Disappointment!

By KimVee |

I have no idea why this has the ratings it does. Food, average. Coffee terrible. My $5 hot chocolate was a Swiss Miss stirred into hot water with a plop of canned whip cream to cover up the fact that it wasn’t real hot chocolate. Sitting at the first table meant I could see into the kitchen area. Saw the waitress open fridge, grab one of several pre-pored orange juice glasses. All were 3/4 full. She pulled one out, filled the last 1/4 with tap water, stirred quickly, and served it to the table next to ours. Just abysmal. Cafe is located in such a sketchy area that I’d have turned back if my husband hadn’t have been there. Dirty, garbage everywhere, scary people loitering around. Now Taylor Street itself is not all bad. We were on Taylor up in the Nob Hill area. Totally safe and clean… but this area is down in the tenderloin area. Even the hostess at our place warned us to stay away (she scribbled out that area with her pen… on a map 😂) This city’s restaurants automatically attach a “employee benefit “ charge onto your bill so if you were inclined to tip the waiter, that’s just MORE money. What a mess.

Nice experience, nothing special

By Kate S. |

Standing in line at 07:00 to get in, everything goes fast. Pre filled cups of drinks, fast order, fast serve, getting the check without even asking me. It’s not a great breakfast experiences, rushed. I wanted to have the experience, now I did. Won’t be coming back though, I like my breakfast slow. Regarding the food: I had two pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon was hard and chewy, not crispy at all. The scrambled eggs was nice, but they didn’t use any salt or pepper, so tasteless. The pancakes didn’t feel cooked through, but maybe that’s just the way they eat pancakes in the USA.

Skip the $$ bacon- Average

By Sara916 |

The service was very nice considering this place was packed! Half hour wait for some very average breakfast. Hashbrowns overly salty, millionaire bacon and eggs, meh. Pancake, meh. Expensive and disappointing.

Small cafe but great service

By JBLPL |

The breakfast was fresh and tasty. I probably chose the wrong order as it was heavy however I would defo eat here again and choose a healthier option. Staff are very friendly and efficient

The millionaire’s bacon is really good, there is Thai version of Benedict eggs with this bacon and those are very good, probably the best thing we had here. Definitely a very good option to have breakfast if you are staying at the Hilton or anywhere in union square.

Not worth it at all

By Mister C |

I’m fond of good “greasy spoon” breakfast, however TSCS miss the mark. Adding insult to injury, is the fact that mediocre breakfast for the two of us, was very expensive. 2 omelettes, 2 sides of breakfast meat, and 2 coffees-$57.48. Portions: hash browns were large, omelettes generous, sides skimpy (3 bucks a sausage). Also while waiting for my order I noticed waitress extending a cup of coffee with hot water before serving it. I realize San Francisco is expensive, however, the food isn’t worth it.

Yes, yes and yes

By Richard S |

We were staying at the Hilton right across from this place but without checking out TripAdvisor we would never have gone in Don’t let the appearance from the outside or the diminutive size out you off. The queue to be seated gives away that this little gem will give you an amazing foodie experience if you are patient enough The staff are really friendly and super efficient and the food was OUTSTANDING. I went for the eggs Benedict with millionaires bacon.....wow.... a real taste sensation. This is a must if you are in the area

Great breakfast

By Travel buddy |

Extremely tasty breakfast in a nice environment. We will definitely be back next time we are in town. Restroom needs a makeover.

Excellent breakfast

By valerio b |

Small but quaint place, good food, courteous and fast service. I am not able to estimate the cost being our first day in the US. In the heart of San Francisco

Visited on three consecutive days!

By BethanyLincs |

We were staying at the local (3 minute walk) Hotel Nikko and came here on three consecutive days-largely for the Millionaire’s Bacon! The pancakes were light and fluffy and a good choice of eggs. Would recommend!

Not a pleasant experience.

By A M |

Average restaurant, small place. Food quality so so. We saw a bug crawling on the wall. Watch out for home less people and when you are walking on sidewalks dogs pop.

Hidden Treasure

By Don H |

Fantastic breakfast. Everything is fresh and homemade. What a hidden gem. The food beats anything I have had at the fancy hotels.

My favourite breakfast spot in San Francisco

By Kristian S |

Really good American breakfast, but you need to be early at there, especially on weekends to get a table. Great choices of different breakfast options.

Underwhelming

By Peter |

For a cafe with Coffee in its name, the coffee was regrettable and overpriced, only marginally better than homemade Folgers. The food was a 3/5, did like the homemade chicken sausage and chorizo omelette, but portions were limited given the price.

Quick, easy, and delicious!

By Cat S |

Stayed right across the street at Hilton for a conference. We all agreed no long walk and something light. Went with the reviews which I don’t think did justice. I may have had the best BLT ever, served on soft, warm ciabatta. Would recommend a hundred times again. Perfect lunch!

Nice, small coffee and breakfast place

By 11812001 |

Nice little coffee shop that does a good selection of food. Everything was tasty and seasoned well. I ordered breakfast tea and the water wasn’t particularly hot. I also ordered the chicken sausages as a side and they were a little grizzly in places. Overall though, it was a good place to eat and I would go back.

Tiny Breakfast Spot

By Joanne R |

This is a tiny spot..maybe 10 tables. We tried a good variety of breakfast items and everyone was happy with their choice. Husband had the Sailor’s Hash…best deal going with shrimp, salmon, crab. I had the Californian Omelet which had delicious chicken mango sausage. Our girls had Citrus French toast with sides of fresh fruit fir $2-3 extra—looked pretty but the fruit had no flavor so maybe not worth the extra. Son had pancakes which were as expected. We shared the Millionaire Bacon which was meaty, sweet, and spicy hot. Worth a try! The service was great and super friendly.

Good experience and great bacon

By Lloyd M |

Great spot for breakfast. I hadn’t been there in years and had forgotten how truly amazing the millionaires bacon was, a ton of flavor, both sweet and peppery and quite filling. What was really impressed with this visit was the service, not typical diner nasty, instead she was very attentive, refilled my tea without charge, was able to pay the bill quickly. A good experience and great bacon.

Very good breakfast

By mhoehl |

A little small, so you have to wait quite long, but it was well worth it. The food is a little pricey, but very good.

Millionaire Bacon is unreal👍👍

By Keith O |

Millionaire Bacon is unreal👍👍 best breakfast I have had in the states😋😋 You might have to queue for a few mins but it is well worth the wait!!

Above average execution on standard diner fare

By SnowDrifted |

Pros: service was good and quick. Cooks did good job w eggs and hash browns. Cons: Coffee lacks flavor, as does sourdough. Bacon was tough. Punchline: if you’re time-crunched & come w modest expectations, it will do. If you have time to search and walk elsewhere, you can do better.

Cozy little place with excellent breakfast!

By maikol77 |

A very small little place, very close to Union Square. Keep in mind that it accepts no reservations, so arrive really early to sit or be prepared to wait! (We arrived before 10.00 am, and we had to wait in the queue for 25-30 minutes until we finally sit). However, don't worry about the queues, the staff is great, very efficient and fast and the line goes away fast until you realise that the wait is totally worth it. The menu is simple and it offers all egg options one can imagine. We ordered Francis Benedict, 2 scrambled eggs with the house's speciality (the millionaire's bacon), coffee and orange juice. The portions were huge and they were served with a really big amount of hash browns - we were full for almost the rest of the day!. The millionaire's bacon lives up to the hype and it is definitely recommended, it was delicious! The Benedicts, however, could be better, they were OK but nothing special. Staff was very nice, quick and polite and often refilled our water and coffee. The only reason I don't give it an excellent rating is because of the place, it is very cramped and even when you sit, you somehow feel rushed to finish your breakfast. Finally, the breakfast has an excellent value for money. For all the above we paid (2 people) 48,83 USD, which is an average price -especially compared to San Francisco ridiculously expensive standards- and definitely one of the least expensive in the area. Definitely recommended for a full breakfast!!

Taylor Street Coffee Shop - EXCELLENT breakfast in Union Square

By byMT305 |

Taylor Street Coffee Shop is a tiny little high class "greasy spoon" tucked-in btwn high rise buildings/hotels in Union Square SF ... It's OUTSTANDING!! There's typically a short wait for limited seating tables. Breakfast is DELICIOUS. Our faves: fresh OJ - the best! pancakes- MUST TRY delicious!! omelettes - great selection mixed fruits - fresh, delicious CA fruit! coffee - we liked!! Honestly, when visiting SF why settle for "routine" hotel lobby breakfasts (or you know what Sbucks)?? Make a little a get a GREAT unique breakfast at Taylor Street Coffee Shop in Union Square!

Solid breakfast choice

By Anna Y |

Breakfast here was a nice surprise. Prices were decent and the quality of food was good. Nice selection of breakfast items. We had breakfast both mornings we were in town. We would go back. Be aware that there will be a line. It moves faster than you think, however. The staff has a good system in place to get people seated quickly.

Awesome!

By Iain R |

Had the pleasure of Norwegian Benedict and a side of Millionaires Bacon today. Any queue at the door goes down pretty speedily and it’s worth the wait anyway. Friendly staff and quick service just adds to the awesome experience.

excellent breakfast

By Rob P |

It's a long, narrow place where you wait for a table in a line alongside the kitchen. And there aren't more than about eight tables in the place, about half designed for four and about half designed for two. Millionaire's Bacon gets some hype but we passed on it because we didn't have an extra million the morning we were there (okay, it's not a million, but it's pretty pricey -- but it does look good). Excellent omelettes and other customary American breakfast dishes. It's a good place and I would go there again.

My favorite place for breakfast

By NNNVR |

I was in SF for business and checked TripAdvisor to see where to go for breakfast. Taylor Street Coffee Shop seemed to be a good choice...and it is! Excellent breakfast! Various choices, fresh ingredients, efficient service and good coffee.

almost worth the wait!

By toots-pdx |

located just across from the union square hilton. very, very small restaurant with maybe 10 tables. we were third in line and waited 10-15 minutes for a table (no counter).they keep the back door open to help clear out the cooking smoke/smells, which creates a very cool breeze in the mornings. wear a light coat. I had the standard breakfast (eggs, hash browns, bacon). Go on the off-peak, if you can.

Well with the wait

By Colin G |

Ate breakfast on a Thursday and had to wait around 15 minutes at 10 am, and ordered eggs, millionaire bacon and hash browns with toast and coffee. Wow, that's how breakfast should be done. Not found anything half as nice since.

Popular breakfast place

By Alfredo8074 |

Wanted to have breakfast at Taylor's since everybody talks about it. There is almost always a line but it moves fast and at rush hours the wait could be 20 minutes. It is literally a hole in the wall. We had eggs benedict with millionaires bacon. My partner loved the bacon, but I would have preferred a well cooked thin sliced Canadian bacon. The french toasts were delicious. The OJ, coffee and tea were very good, particularly the fresh OJ served chilled. However, the price was too much, even though the quality of the food was tops. But a simple breakfast for two with taxes and mandated employee benefit at $50 is steep.

Great quick option in the union district next to the Hilton

By A_Ratcliffe |

This is our second visit to this small breakfast restaurant. This is a great place to eat. The food is good and the service is fast. I do recommend the Sailor’s Hash. If you’re really hungry get the millionaires bacon as a side.

yummy

By Charis M |

Delicious breakfast, attentive waitress - lots of coffee refills!! nice interior, loved all the quirky decorations......would def go back if we were ever in SF again.

A delicious breakfast

By 3C03 |

Came across Taylor Street Coffee Shop as the place we turned up for breakfast was full. Headed to trip advisor and searched for breakfast near me. Didn’t read the reviews just headed to the closest place. There was a queue when we arrived but this went quickly. Taylor Street coffee shop is small but has a lovely feel. We all had variations of the eggs. The Hash browns are not typical English Hash browns. In fact I actually preferred the Taylor Street ones. As everyone has said the Millionaire bacon is delicious as is the OJ. We still have 3 more days left in SF. We will be back!!!

Great Brekky Spot

By EconomistGuy |

Wonderful breakfast spot in SF.... obviously caters to locals that like the vibe, tight quarters and great food. Most impressed!

Good breakfast destination

By Karina Sh |

Highly recommended to try out the millionaire’s bacon - it’s tasty and unusual. Quick service and quality food. Good breakfast destination.

Wow, what a place

By IanWLondon |

If you walked passed you probably wouldn’t give this place a second look, unless you noticed the line waiting for a table. We waited in line for around 20 minutes on a Friday and and Sunday, but it’s well worth it. Perfectly executed breakfast fayre both times. The eggs benedict with millionaires bacon was a particular star. Prices are a little higher than normal, but given the quality, ids a bargain

THAT BACON!!!

By dennismel |

Millionaires bacon is incredible, the best I've had. The eggs, toast , hash brown are all decent. Service is ok, nothing memorable. The bacon is what made this place and it was mind blowing. freshly squeezed juice is pre made and sits in the fridge then given a stir - understandable as it gets busy. Do check it out.

Great Find

By Chuck A |

What a lucky find. Searched for a breakfast restaurant near our hotel and found this place. Small hallway shaped space with room for only about 36 patrons at a time, but we didn’t have to wait. Large portions that were prepared perfectly. Get a side of the Millionaire’s Bacon to share, it’s a little pricey but worth it.

Fast & delicious

By Eric Pascual |

We have little time, and the Mexican chef, cook delicious, with home flavor and feels like a home. Thanks!!!

Wow, wonderful little coffee shop

By Rob K |

Wow, wonderful little coffee shop! Had the California omelette and the 1%er sandwich, both outstanding! Great find by reading the reviews here.

Nice breakfast

By 639dentist |

Very good breakfast place in union square . The place is tiny , we had to wait for 15 minutes and then we were seated . Great orange juice . Nice selection of omelet with toast . Has browns are very nice crispy and tasty . Good portion and filling . Fast and friendly service .place is small but very well planned and used .

Great breakfast place, lovely service.

By June A |

This doesn't look much from the outside but inside it is a little gem. The food is superb and the service second to none by lovely, polite staff. We came here every morning while staying locally. The french toast and fruit was wonderful. Don't be put off by the queue, it moves quickly and is worth the wait.

Ok- Breakfast which is surprising considering it’s a BREAKFAST

By Eran H |

We ordered salmon Benedict with hash browns and Pancakes eggs & Bacon, hash brown was dry and not tasty, hollandeis wasabi sauce was a bad fit (couldn’t taste the wasabi), eggs were ok, pancakes batter was sticky and uncooked. We didn’t feel it was worth the money at all.

Great find

By TChiz |

Was in SF for a weekend trip. Found Taylor Street Coffee Shop around the corner from our hotel. It is really small but we went for an early lunch. We were seated quickly by friendly staff. The menu is filled with breakfast and lunch items. I chose the Philly cheesesteak. It was served on ciabatta roll. It had great flavor and plenty of meat. My wife had the BLTA made with millionaire’s bacon. It was soooo good. The bacon really made the sandwich. I even ordered a side of the bacon. It is thick sliced bacon cooked with a sweet spicy glaze. Perfect. It is a bit spendy $$$, but when I’m traveling, as long is the food is good I don’t mind paying. As always just my opinion.

Delicious!! So worth the wait

By Andrea L O |

Hidden gem!!! Get there before 9 otherwise you will wait but it is worth it!! Food is delicious and service is great!!! Coffee is fresh since they use whole beans so y which I picky about my coffee lol

Delicious!

By Teresa T |

Large portions, fresh squeezed orange juice, friendly. Be prepared to wait for a table. I had the egg white omelette combo.

Worth the wait

By Allie S |

We stopped here on a Sunday Morning at 8:45am. The line was out the door. We waited probably 45 minutes, and it was worth it! The food came out fast and was so delicious. The millionaire bacon is money - a little spicy but amazing. The hash browns were so good and they made the eggs we ordered perfect. We had a group of 4 and all got different things, and were very satisfied.

Coffee with a view

By Joao V |

Caribou Ajman on the Corniche is a lovely place to visit - any time of the day- as the staff is very friendly and the smell of coffee - inviting. To be there at sunset is the best time. Sitting on the upper level watching the reflection of the sun on the sea and the colour of the sky and clouds is really beautiful and enhance the taste of the coffee. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

Best spot in San Francisco

By Amanda W |

Just happened on this amazing place when looking for a reasonable breakfast (away from the pricey Hilton). Be prepared to wait 30 minutes ... But definitely worth it! Small, well run by the friendliest welcoming people. My omlette was perhaps one of the best I have had. Have the fruit.... So much and so very fresh.

Good Breakfast

By jamker2018 |

You could easily miss this small quite place. Eggs are made to your liking. Coffee refills. The pancakes are nice and thin. Have some patience when you go there because there may be a line to be seated. Very friendly staff.

Quick stop between flights

By ellocoylasucia |

Excellent breakfast , GF options 😁 Service is fast and efficient , will definetely recomend it . Quick and easy find

Best Breakfast by Far!!!

By CRS |

This small cozy cafe has the best breakfast in town and right in the miiddle of the ciity. When we arrive about 14 people waiting in line but dont get discouraged line moves fast only waited 15 minutes to be seated! Staff is great and are on top of things. Had the best hashbrowns and french toast not to talk about the Millionaire Bacon and great OJ. Nice simple and best value for yor money.

Just ‘The Best’ !!!

By Ian B |

I’ve travelled all over the world and this place is just ‘The Best’ for Breakfast anywhere. A proper little authentic Coffee Shop with just fabulous food. If I ever come back to San Fran I will without a doubt revisit this place. Fantastic Food with healthy options. Fantastic service. Great Coffee. Reasonable prices. THE BEST !

Tiny and superb

By Girlhistorian |

Just wonderful. I had the Blackstone Benedict with made with candied bacon and a beautiful, generous serving of fresh fruit. This is a tint place with eight tables and one server, but don’t be deceived. These folks know what they’re doing.

God food but tiny!

By job_tourist |

Food was great! Very small place with not a lot of tables. Could not handle large groups. Not really a Coffee shop, more of a breakfast and lunch place.

excellent

By Manfredo |

I have been a customer for more than 10 years, the quality and taste has been always exceptional This place can be crowded , long line waiting to be seated , but you will not wait that long, the personal, is amazingly fast, you wont regret to wait, i see people looking at the line and turning around, but they don't really know what they miss.Anyone asking me for a good breakfast in downtown San Francisco, this is the place that i recommend, give it a try and you will agree with me

Great breakfast spot in San Francisco

By Jenny F |

A great tiny spot in the city. We found this place for an early breakfast and were very happy. The food and service was great. They were also accommodating for one person in our party that is gluten free. Definitely recommend!

food quality is exceptional

By art s |

we had breakfast there. i had the french toast and patti had an omelette.the french toast was real french toast - not fancified texas toast - with fruit. the omelette was exceptional. decor is modern day grunge and the place is small but the food is as good as we have had in san francisco and as expensive, too. worth going to.

A bit overrated

By James V |

Ate here because of the rating......to say the least it was a bit overrated. Should have read the recent reviews, they more accurately reflect this restaurant. Coffee was luke-warm and average tasting. Saw the waitress pour water into an orange juice before serving it to another customer. Hot chocolate drink was a package mix stirred in hot water. Food was OK, but not worth the price. Maybe the Tripadvisor analytics are mixed up on this one.

Positive surprise

By XC-TN |

We would not have entered if we had not read the reviews. Certainly do not regret it. Great breakfast American style. Not for coffee aficionados as they serve typical drip coffee. We had a variety of food from eggs Florentine to fruits and we were all very happy with the quality. Very efficient and friendly staff. Not the most stylish interior but that is part of the charm. We would definitely go again.

Expensive

By bil b |

Paid over $90 for an average breakfast for 4 people, now is that expensive or is that just me? I don't know if that's San Francisco prices or what but after that started having breakfast at IHOP or Dennys which came to $60 maximum

Great breakfast!

By petewyo |

Looks like a little hole in the wall, but don't let that deceive you. Huge breakfast, great flavor, but not too sure about the famous millionaire's bacon, great taste but lots of fat. Very limited seating.

Rich breakfast

By Pilar C |

Rich place to go for breakfast, although a little small. The pancakes were very good and the service was excellent. Plus they put free water on you

Great breakfast place

By AjayMV |

Great little place to have breakfast. Delicious omelettes & kids loved their pancakes (they have a kids menu). Food just needed a touch of seasoning with salt & pepper, nevertheless a decent breakfast option.

Not just better bacon

By Danielle G |

Millionaire’s bacon is not just the most premium bacon. It’s bacon (presumably applewood smoked) cooked so that it has a sweet and spicy glaze. It’s good, but overpowering on the BLT with it. If seeking the more traditional flavors that make a BLT great the stick with the regular bacon.

Best breakfast and great service

By MaritalBajd |

You have to wait, outside and inside but definitely worth the wait and you can decide on your order while waiting. You need time as all the dishes are excellent you spoilt for choice. Excellent quality food $100 for four which is very reasonable fir the quality. Been there twice and put on my list with future visits. Thanks

Great breakfast

By Juha S |

We had four nights in SF and had breakfast here three mornings. We will go there again when we have the opportunity.

Great little place for breakfast

By Catherine L |

There is a lot on offer for breakfast from french toast and pancakes to eggs, bacon etc. I chose eggs and toast with millionaire's bacon and hash brown. Delicious! The bacon is very different, quite rich with chilli seeds but worth a try. The only downside to this coffee shop is the absence of an espresso machine.

Sometimes a queue but the millionaires bacon makes it worthwhile

By Garry F |

Very small place so get there early otherwise you will have to wait for a table. Having said that it’s worth the wait. The millionaires bacon is better than any bacon I’ve tasted. The food is freshly prepared and all of it looked good. Service is good too. On a par with everywhere else regarding prices, around $50 for two with coffee - San Fran isn’t cheap....

Great Breakfast

By Dlclay1 |

Very unassuming, small restaurant, with excellent service and the best breakfast I've had in ages. Don't miss out. The Sailors hash was full of flavor, and a generous portion. Be sure to check out the millionaire bacon, delicious!

Go for bacon.

By Desiree R |

Millionaires bacon is a must if you like spice. No wait when we arrived despite being a Sunday afternoon. Good food but pricey for what it is.

Epitome of a "hole in the wall"

By Emma M |

This was such a great find. It is tiny but the portions are huge. Everyone in our party loved their meals. We did have to separate because the space is so small and tables are limited, so be prepared!

Hearty breakfast... served with a smile... value for money!

By Sneha G |

Staying at the Hilton just opposite but heard so many not so great things about the bfast there I decided to try this quaint little place that had rave reviews. The meal surpassed the expectations and all for 24 dollars! Will definitely go again. Highly recommend the home made super thin hash browns (those from Uk... no it’s not what you think.. see pic) ..

Poor

By PJMS2014 |

We tried this cafe because of the good reviews but how disappointing the serving staff were slow and unfriendly the food was average and not pletyfull its not the American diner feeling it is simply a back street cafe would not recommend this place there is a much pleasanter dinner around the corner with excellent service pleasant staff and more than enough food to fill you up. As viitors from the UK we expected much more from this cafe it was a total let down

Great breakfast

By Renee |

Place is small so be prepared for a brief wait but well worth it. Service is quick and food is delicious. The egg scrambles are yummy and the omelets very filling.

Breakfast was amazing!

I went with some friends to have breakfast and it was great! Delicious and good service highly recommended!

Best San Francisco Breakfast in a Hole-in-the-Wall Cafe

By Robert A |

Over the years, I've had breakfast in many places in San Francisco: the Fairmont, Ritz-Carlton, Campton Place, Sears Fine Food just off Union Square, and more. I just finished the best breakfast ever in a hole-in--the-wall restaurant just off Union Square in the Tenderloin, at the Taylor Street Cafe. Just my wife I had breakfast, and we both had the traditional Eggs Benedict, with a slice of Canadian bacon, so our sample didn't cover the range of breakfast offerings. Nonetheless,.... The eggs were perfectly poached, whites fully firm with no raggedy edges, yolks runny. The Hollandaise sauce was right consistency, not runny, not congealed, sitting perfectly on top of rhe eggs. The dish had a thick slab of real Canadian bacon, perfectly sized for the English muffin, not some random, thin-sliced ham. The dish was topped with a sprinkling of micro-greens. I had tomato slices, thick and ripe; my wife had thin, crispy hashbrowns. All in all, a very appealing presentation, as well as a great taste. (No food fotos; I was thinking food, not review.) The orange juice was freshly squeezed; the coffee--we had drip--was OK. The service was fast, our waiter was aniable and responsive. There are pictures of the restaurant, which might put off the finicky and the clean freaks. My wife is among the latter, and she was OK there. Old, but spotlessly clea. The bill was about $72, for 2 orders of Eggs Benedict, 2 12-oz orange juices, and 2 coffees. But it's downtown SF, and I'll wager you won't a better breakfast. Parking? It's not a destination restaurant, so likely you won't be driving. Hard to judge what pandemic parking is like. Almost all SF public transit passes within a few blocks: BART, Muni, streetcar, bus lines galore.

Billionaire bacon

By Gisele |

I love billionaire bacon, thick and a bit sweet :) 第一次吃到這樣的早午餐,我從來沒吃過這樣做法的培根,厚切、油脂豐富但不膩、甜的!非常好吃!我只覺得hash brown 有點可惜了~
