Whether it's just two of you or a group of friends, Terra Plata offers a wonderful atmosphere, great service and delicious food. The plate portions are designed to be shared with your companions, which is great, because everyone wanted to sample a bit of what everyone else ordered. From starters to deserts, this restaurant deserves to be on your list. I know we'll be visiting again, there were too many delicious offerings to fully enjoy on one visit.

One of the best dinners out in a long time. Every dish was unique and full of several flavors. Beets with yogurt and cumin; blistered shishito peppers; roasted Brussel sprouts (and I hate Brussels sprouts) plus main dish of pork with mussels and chorizo! Crazy combinations that are all delicious!! š House cocktail with smoked tequila was special too.

After a couple of years I decided to come back. My intial review for this place was 3 stars. My service experience this time was much better as well as my food choices. This is a safe choice for anyone who wants good food that can satisfy a variety of taste buds.

I was in a party of three having dinner here on a warm Sunday night in early July. The location is in a trendy neighborhood with a few other al fresco dining locations nearby. The interior is clean and cool with a wooden feel. We did not sit upstairs/outside but judging from the pictures, that's the spot to be for seating. The restaurant inside was probably half full. The only downside to our experience was the speed of service. The food took a while to come out, which was fine, but it was the in between times that turned the meal into a 90 minute trip. It was probably a solid 10 minutes before we were greeted by a waitress and the bartender actually had to come over and took our drink orders after a while. During the meal, it was a flurry of attention for a couple minutes and then swaths of dead time. The prices were definitely on the high end, it was a $150 meal for three of us with each of us getting one drink and an app. Beyond those fairly minor issues, the food was incredible. Everything was obviously homemade and unique. We tried the homemade potato chips, fries and cheese platters so start. All very good. The salad (an upscale wedge you'd find at your local chain restaurant) was meticulously put together and full of flavor. The burger and seafood eaten by the others in my party looked hand crafted and well cooked. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience and I can imagine it would be even better upstairs with a view.

Very cool spot. We went in August and there is no air conditioning inside. It was extremely hot, but we sat upstairs on the patio outside and it was a little better. Service was great. Loved the food, except for the salmon. It was cooked almost medium rare, which it how it was supposed to be, but just not used to that when ordering salmon. Would have preferred it well done. Was disappointed one of the cocktails we wanted was sold out, but the others we tried instead were great. It is very pricey, but overall worth it for a special occasion. Recommend reservations as they were extremely busy.

We are fortunate to live pretty close to Terra Plata, so we are able to go there frequently, but I decided to write because we had an extraordinary meal there this past week celebrating a friend's birthday. We started with the olives, shishito peppers and bread, then proceeded to devour most of the menu. The marrow bones were delicious and the waygu beef dish was extraordinary and beautiful (but not too beautiful to eat, luckily). Salmon was perfectly cooked and the beets were gone before I could have a thirds. Sea salt caramel bar topped it off, along with cream cheese ice cream. Wow. (Should mention the extraordinary service, too: thank you, Nick and Kevin!)_

fabulous fresh share plates. young vibe. great neighborhood. shishito peppers are amazing. halibut was moist and delicious. reservations are a good idea

Rustic tables lend a casual vibe. We came here for lunch on a weekday and found the service and food to be good. When my friend and I could not decide between two items our waitress suggested we split the entrees. Great idea. The only negative is that the fan system they have makes kind of a high pitched, whistling noise. Not real loud, but irritating all the same.

We were originally coming in for drinks and snacks but decided to leave after our first round of drinks following interactions with 2 of the staff. The patio itself was lovely and the host at the door was absolutely lovely and those are the only two reasons I am giving this less than zero. This place might be good sometimes but our experience left a bad taste.

This is a great place and perfectly located. Food is of a highest quality. Great menu. Excellent drink list and wine list. The folks who work there are so friendly. Fresh!

Worst first---one of our group got food poisoning from the mussel dish. Yes, we are sure it was the mussels at Terra Plata. The rest of our experience was only slighly better--but no good. We arrived, we ordered. The dishes began arriving sporadically, in no order, and widely separated in time. Brussel spouts, a side dish for the entrees, arrived first. Then an entree. Then the soup and appetizer. The first served person was almost done with her dinner before 2 more entrees appeared. Those persons were done with their entrees and no food had been served to the two remaining persons. We complained. The food appeared 2 minutes later, cold and undercooked. The manager said he would not charge us for the ruined entree. Like we would have paid for it anyway. Two free deserts did not remotely compensate for this Terra Plata's utter incompetnece as a restaurant. You have been warned.

After hearing rave reviews, we decided to get a rooftop rez here for a Saturday night. Our server's sporadic and infrequent service put us off, but the appetizers helped us get over it. With the autumn chill setting in, we inquired as to why the heat lamp above us was not working. A shrug and a poor excuse absent of an apology did nothing to console us. My brother ordered a buffalo burger cooked medium and it came back bleeding. In fact, one could literally still see the beef rinds because only the outside had been seared. Our waitress finally came back to life, and kindly took it off the bill and comped us a cappuccino. Even still, dramatically undercooking a burger should not happen when you're forking over $22...

The atmosphere was ok. We were not a fan of the communal tables but, were not sat there. The food saved the day! We enjoyed each and every thing we ordered and we ordered a lot for our party of four. We brought a bottle of wine that our server decanted for us and then took his recommendation and had the most lovely rose to pair with our final dish. The risotto and the octopus were the favorites but, it was hard to choose. The atmosphere seems too casual for the fine dining we experienced. Great food and great service. Worth a visit if you haven't been there and we'll be back.

The place is fancy, the wine list is nice, and everything. But when you have to deal with food, you'll have one of the weirdest experiences in Seattle. I had a roasted pig served in a terracotta bowl, but when you order roasted pig you expect it to be actually ROASTED; instead of this I had a boiled piece of pig meat, accompanied with CLAMS and CHORIZO. The result is obviously ambiguous, but I found it awful. Decent service and standard price for Seattle.

Although we didn't have a reservation we managed to get a seat the bar in the window. The service was super friendly and helpful. You should share several dishes to get the taste of the variety they offer. Ingredients of good quality. Dishes are unusual and very flavourful.

After a long day of walking all over Seattle, my friend and I wanted something to eat but not too much. We were looking for a particular restaurant that we never found, so we ended up asking some fellow pedestrians for recommendations. Folks in Seattle are really nice so we found many ready to help us find a nice restaurant. We ended up at Terra Plata, a cozy neighborhood restaurant specializing in small plates. We ordered drinks, Brussels Sprouts and shrimp. I didn't like my drink so they didn't charge me for it. The fried Brussels Sprouts were yummy and the shrimp were just OK. My colleague enjoyed her wine and I ended up drinking water. The ambience of Terra Plata is casual, comfortable, neighborhood style. Prices are medium.

We tried 4 appetizers and 3 mains. The appetizers were good but not outstanding. Quite expensive for what you get. As an example, lamb riblets for $26 but mostly bone and fat. Best main was the complete Brazino fish. Service was good. Arrival front desk not attentive. We were on the upstairs patio and they advertise heaters but they were not on. Had to ask twice for them to be turned on. For the money, we would go elsewhere.

I have been to Terra Plata many times. Some times stand out more than others. This time I really enjoyed my meal - black cod, churros and salted caramel chocolate bar for dessert. Patio is superb. Very nice late summer dinner outside.

Seasonal vegetables done with artistry and care. The brussel sprouts were such a hit we ordered 3 plates! The fries and squash dishes were delicious too. For the 6 guests we also ordered 3 entrees and 2 desserts to round out the meal. My favorite entrƩe was the teres major steak with a parsnip puree so good I wish I could have licked the plate, seriously who likes parsnips. This was an ideal accompaniment to the steak.

We went here for Sunday brunch and it was really good. Gourmet breakfast. Modern trendy atmosphere. Good outdoor seating. Delicious menu items. The berries with cream sauce was soooo good. We ordered an assortment of items and they were all very good. Need a reservation pretty far in advance!

went as a group of four a great meal - some lovely local ish wine was recommended and it was fantastic some really nice stripped steak for mains and starter we went for a mixed platter which was fantastic would recommend to anyone

We had dinner at the Terra Plata. It was a good experience. The food was fresh and very tasty. The service was very good. Worth a visit when in Seattle.

We loved this small plates joint! It was paella night so we got the seafood paella for 2 people and a bunch of small plates: Spanish cheese, Brussel sprouts, patatas, stuffed peppers, and beets! Everything was perfectly prepared and balanced in flavor.

We went to this restaurant with a party of six and after we were seated, we were basically forgotten for a while. Cold coffee, terrible service, and a forty-five minute wait to be served our food after ordering is simply unacceptable. Our wait staff continually ignored us or forgot about us. I guess our jeans weren't tight enough. A terrible experience.

This place is a little pricey, but the atmosphere is really good. My friend got the churros, and the sauce was to die for. It wasn't very busy but the food took a while. I would not recommend the blood sausage. The potatoes were good. We were there for brunch.

We visiting Seattle, we had a relaxing Friday afternoon eating, drinking and enjoying company of friends. The servers here are super friendly and efficient and did not rush us during our 3 hour stay. The food was delicious and innovative. Enjoyed the fries with smoked paprika, beef salad and chicken wings (spicy). Beers served here a lighter than what I prefer, but were all good as was the wine and bloody mary.

Mostly just looking for a refuge from the rain, my girlfriend and I chanced upon a great dinner at this Spanish restaurant over the weekend. Neither of us had ever had Spanish cuisine before and wouldn't have known what to expect of it. Turns out, we love it! The menu has obviously been put together with great care and in some places can be a bit daring to our less experienced North American palates. Everything was cooked perfectly and it was clear the the ingredients were all top notch. Our appetiser of bone marrow had apparently been overcooked but we discovered by quick admission on the part of our server, who explained that a new serving would be prepared and on the house. The selection of beverages also seemed impressive, and my girlfriend was very satisfied with her wine, a suggestion on the part of our server to pair well with her octopus entrƩe. As already implied, the service was excellent, with just the right amount of attention and helpful navigation. The ambience was in line with what most of us have probably come to expect from trendy restaurants of this era, particular those of a farm to table variety, but it nevertheless served the mood well. Overall a very satisfying experience and one we hope to enjoy again.

I really love the fact that this restaurant is paying attention to use regional ingredients and combines it with innovative recipes. The food was amazing and in order to try as much as possible I would recommend to share plates. Also, the location was really cool. It gave a hipster vibe mixed with the feeling of being in a cottage in a remote little forrest next to skyscrapers.

This restaurant was recommended to me for its selection of cheese and charcuterie and it did not disappoint! The rest of our meal was fine but not exceptional and I would go back only for the quality of the cheese. A little bit crowded in the weekend, so not necessarily suited for group conversations.

We recently dined here with some friends before a show at the Paramount. We really enjoyed the food. The menu is perfect for sharing, with lots of small plate and veggie choices. We ended up ordering most of the items listed under "earth" for sharing. We then each picked a "land & sea" selection. All the "earth" dishes were fresh, perfectly prepared and delicious. I had the coho salmon with saffron couscous, dried fruits, arugula pistou, spiced yogurt and pine nuts, which was also really tasty. The atmosphere was very casual and the service was excellent. This is a great choice for Central Seattle.

Went here on weeknight with wife and adult children. Good variety of drinks and food. Very creative cocktails. Fresh farm to table with very nice ambience. They have small plates and full dinners. Great service.

Was a great ambiance, seems to have a lot of local guests more than tourists, which is a good thing, cool selection of cocktails, funky staff, roof terrace is superb on good weather, main courses aren't big, so beware if greatly hungry. Dishes on the menu are classified as per ingridients, not the usual way like other restaurants, which is cool but can be confusing.tried few cocktails all were excellent as per taste, some could have been cooler ( shaken longer with ice) or larger in size. Food is mostly fresh items and from local products which is nice. Overall was quite nice

Roasted pig with chorizo sausage and the duck dish were both over the top. Great location, venue and service. Wine by the glass excellent and bar tender was terrific in helping my wife w her food allergies

Enjoyable atmosphere for meeting with friends; a little noisy; clams and mussels were good but not great - not very many for the price. Peach gazpacho sounded good but it was mainly tomato, not peach flavor. Very little on street parking and parking lots nearby were expensive.

We ate an early dinner at Terra Plata so we didn't have any trouble getting a seat. We opted to sit at the bar and enjoyed watching them prepare the meals. Great space on a corner, so the building is triangular in shape. Open air downstairs and a rooftop bar area. Our bartender/waitress was great (shout out to Kentucky!) and was very helpful in describing the dishes. Had the shishito peppers with aioli dipping sauce and a salmon special with green curry. The salmon dish (menu changes daily) was so flavorful! This restaurant gets quite busy in the evenings, so reservations are recommended. Will definitely go back.

We started out late walking around the area looking for a place to have dinner and Terra Plata attracted our attention in it's odd-shaped building with big windows. The menu suggested an out of the ordinary experience so we decided on small plates to try more offerings. The lamb riblets stand out as they were cooked to perfection. The peach cobbler unfortunately was not available. But a substitute peach dessert was equally delicious. A nice experience!

Managed to snag a great table on the roof terrace for a birthday celebration. They even printed special bday version of the menu... Food served sharing style (I'm assuming as party of 8+) but be prepared to order separate if that's not your thing! Eclectic menu was pretty good

Completely forgot Mondays is paella night!! This place is packed and the aroma of the kitchen has a very slight smoky seductive smell. I really wanted plates of veggies like no one else quite does in Seattle.... I will be back soon for that.... So for now I will go with the amazing marinated olives and the octopus dish. Yes! Service - slightly inconsistent. More of a 3 star on service. Food - more than 5 stars. Wow.

Solo visit and sat at the bar with Roselyn as my bartender. Initially sheās seemed a little standoffish but she turned out to be GREAT! She a foodie person, as am I, and we talked about the menu and finally decided on the risotto. Wow, probably the best and most interesting risottos I have ever had, anywhere. Price is reasonable and would go back.

We have enjoyed the food, its very diverse with different fusions, however some plates were very overpriced (for example cucumber, salad and potato plate). Also our stomachs were a bit grumbling afterwards since its loads of different types

We went for Seattle's dine around. It was Paellas night. We had 3 different starters which were all very good. Followed by the very good Paellas (with seafood). Good service as well.

What could be better than joining friends for dinner on the terrace at Terra Plata. Add a couple Naughty Nellies and melt-in-you mouth morrocan spiced lamb and you have perfection. Kevin, our server, was a wonderful host.

Every dish that the four of us shared was tasty, thoughtful, artful, and just looked like it belonged on an episode of Iron Chef. Service was quick even though the place was packed. Butter cake and the rhubarb dessert were incredible finishes to a wonderful meal.

When I made the reservation they asked if we would like to go on the wait list for the roof top which we did and fortunately we were able to sit there. It was a long table which we shared with 2 other couples (there were 6 of us): It didn't feel uncomfortable as in too close for hearing their conversation nor too squished. There were ample outdoor heaters which made it comfortable. Inside was very nice as well and it was very clean. The waiter was very attentive and offered suggestions as to how best to order from the menu. Everyone was very happy with their mail meals and the appetizers were delicious (hand cut frites, cheese plate, blistered shishito peppers). My main meal was the Spanish octopus and it was very flavorful and lovely presentation. We shared home made churros with a chile chocolate sauce and whipped cream on the side. I would definitely go back.

Went there on a Sat night with friends and was seated after 845. Place looks packed, ambiance is a bit dark and rustic. We started with the heirloom tomatoes and it was super good. I order the octopus and I literally got an 8 inch tentacle with some potatoes. I was hopeful that the taste would blow me away but it didn't. The worse part was it cost $27 for this dish. It was a total waste of my digestive juices and my money. My friends had the cod and they really enjoyed it. I have had octopus in the US, Europe and Asia so I know what a good octopus dish is....this one was really a big disappointment. Service was meh, octopus was blah, overall just ok. Im not rushing to be back.

This is the second time we went here while in Seattle. Both times we sat on the roof and both times the service was terrible, 15 min. For a coffee, or you have to go downstairs and get it there. My Sister-in-law is a Tammra fan. But never again.

We finally got around to eating here and it did not disappoint! Every dish was on point. Loved the duck mousse salad, the leek gratin (that also had anchovy topping!), the lamb kebab, and the hangar steak with frites. The space is great too with lots of windows and light. I would definitely recommend for a special group meal. Great wine list too.

I love Terra Plata the food is great and the menu regularly offers a very good choice of dishes to share. Unfortunatelly last Monday was Paella day. This restricted the menu to few Spanish Tapasv and two Paellas. We ate the one of the Paellas the rice was undercoocked and at the time we were there, 7.30 pm they had runned out of one the fishes that was suppoose to be part of the Paella. I will go back of course to Terra Plata, but will try to avoid Paella Day

Celebrated a birthday here. Eating in the rooftop dining room was a great experience (July). Enjoyed the sunshine and the view of the neighborhood. Servers were all very friendly and helpful. Food was well prepared. Dessert cam with a birthday candle.

My birthday dinner. Rooftop dining. Another accidental find. Husband made the reservation a while ago because of reviews. Pleasantly surprised to find an abundance of naturally gluten free options. The only focaccia on the menu was gluten free too. The server told us that the chef is celiac and makes her own flour blend. Excellent. Crisp outside, soft and chewy inside. We shared that, blistered shishito peppers, Paella and crustless cheesecake. Also excellent Old Fashionedās. In the Capitol Hill area of Seattle. Short light rail ride (2 stops) from our hotel in Pioneer Square and a 10 minute walk from the station.

The chef and team provided a fantastic meal and great service for a business gathering. They were thoughtful about dietary restrictions and the menu was creative. Queer friendly and great atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

Creative Delicious plates. Ate at the bar with a friend and we shared four small plates. All were recommended by the bartender and all were creative and delicious.

The rooftop area has heat lamps so it was comfortable to be out there on a cool night. The food was delicious and fresh. Service was good and our server made good recommendations.

This was my first and probably last visit to Terra Plata. I was having dinner with an important customer who mentioned that she loves paella. I heard about Paella night at Terra Plata and we were both excited for this culinary adventure. The rooftop setting is lovely in the summer. There are herbs planted around the seating area, and on a warm summer night in Seattle itās a treat to sit outside. They even bring you blankets to wrap around you when it starts to get chilly. We ordered some appetizers and the paella mixto, which is a shared dish that contains chicken, sausage and seafood. While the dish was very tasty, the chicken was clearly not cooked thoroughly and was inedible and unsafe to eat. The server was busy and did not return to check on us until quite late into the meal when she came to ask if we wanted dessert. My companion let her know that the chicken was undercooked. The server said that the chicken wasn't undercooked, but was pink because it is organic, to which my companion replied that no, it was in fact undercooked. The texture was clearly that of raw chicken. It ruined the enjoyment of the dish, and marred what was otherwise an enjoyable evening. They did bring us some prosecco later, but never really apologized for the raw chicken and didnāt adjust the bill at all. I doubt that I will return and certainly would not bring customers here since I was embarrassed about the incident. When chicken is not properly cooked it can cause a risk of food poisoning. They should have acknowledged that it was undercooked and removed it from the bill.

Got an Albacore entree which was very good, but pretty small for the price. More about presentation than substance.

I'm not sure about mid week, but if you want a table for say 7pm, you had better book ahead. I booked 24 hrs ahead and couldn't get what I wanted. We arrived a little early, expecting wed have to sit at the bar, but we were seated within 5 minutes which was about 20 minutes early. the menu is really quite different. Read it closely there are some hidden details. Having never eaten there before and also not since breakfast that day, we kind off over ordered. We had the home made potato chips and baguette for a starter. The chips are great, but I think its a bit rude charging $5 for bread that most restaurants give you anyway. It was a good piece of baguette, bit nowhere near $5 worth. Also not that the menu is a lar carte, so what you order is what you get, nothing more. We realized that and ordered the kale and roasted turnip dish. This should be called turnip and kale because there is hardly any kale on the plate and the turnip was tasteless. The pappardelle is amazing however, home made noodles with the richest lamb sauce I've ever tasted. Easily a dish for 2 or a main course for 1. The roast Pig was very tasty also, rich flavor and a great sauce. Wine and beer lists are not too huge, so you don't have to sit for hours deciding what to drink. Overall Id say the staff where very good, our server was on top of things and always near when we wanted him. Its not inexpensive, but what decent place isnt in Seattle.

Excellent. Terra Plata never disappoints. Met with some friends for a casual Sunday dinner. Ordered lots of small plates to share and thoroughly enjoyed them all.

We dined at Terra Plata and had a pleasant experience overall. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The restaurantās location is fantastic, conveniently situated near the Starbucks Roastery, which made it easy to find and added to the overall charm of the visit. However, I did find the vegan menu to be quite limited. Our choices were restricted to mixed olives, roasted cauliflower, and frites. While these dishes were tasty, I would have appreciated a bit more variety in the vegan offerings. Despite this, the ambiance and service made for an enjoyable dining experience. If youāre in the area and not strictly vegan, Terra Plata is definitely worth a visit!

My friend and I were visiting from Portland and wanted a fresh meal. We were seated by the hostess and then our server Jordan came over. He seemed like we were a total bother in a completely empty restaurant. We brought our own wine and even offered him a taste at which he snubbed. He did not do simple things like filling our water, providing us bread, checking on us after our meal was served. He was incredibly rude. This is my first visit and I would not recommend to anyone due to the poor service.

Had a great pre-fixe menu. Everything on it was amazing. It included things I have never liked such as brusselsprouts, but I couldn't spot eating these. I learned how much the 2 owners give back to the community and their staff. I will be eating here frequently, it felt like home!

My son lives in Capitol Hill and he was dying to go here and what a good choice. First off, the bldg is wedge shaped...every bldg should be a wedge, great windows. I'm a gin drinker and they had two offerings of small batch gin that were so good and unique. Three of us shared a cheese plate, the mussels, the risotto, wagyu ribeye and the roast pig dish that was to die for. Service was very delightful and Life is good !

The place seems to be full when we try to grab lunch in this area. We stopped early this time and could try their menu. Soup of the day was an asparagus one, this particular batch was tasteless, salt was distinctive in it but to call it asparagus soup would be an exaggeration. Pasta with mushrooms, grilled asparagus was delicious and my husband enjoyed his Mediterranean sandwich. The menu looks good and we might give it another try.

We met up here with friends and were able to snag a table on the roof top. It has a hip and trendy atmosphere. Mostly a small plate menu meant for sharing. No problem, there was six of us and we were all up for it. Once the waiter finally came to get our order he explained that the chef would send the orders out in the manner that he thought would be best. Little did we know that everything we ordered would come out at the same time. There really wasn't enough room on the table for all the dishes. It was quite cumbersome. The food itself tasted okay but nothing was memorable.

There is a lot of thought that goes into their "Earth to table" menu. The cheeses and shrooms are very unique and well paired into dishes. There's no cheddar (literally) in the kitchen. We started brunch with a very good coffee (right across the street from Starbucks Roastery) and Manchego biscuits and cinnamon rolls - those were amazing and the other breads looked equally good. I had the roast pork hash, and the mix of flavors between the fresh veggies, pork and seasonings was amazing. Others had the three egg scramble, and more custom made ones didn't turn out quite as well as the stock menu recipes. They do a great job of farm to table food service, and the restaurant fills pretty quickly on a Saturday morning. There's no "pigs in a blanket" here!

I love the restaurant's location and atmosphere. However, for the prices, I felt that all the dishes my dinner party tried was a bit lackluster. May try again, but given all the other options just within a block, it may take a little while before cycling back.

Went for a late Sunday brunch on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The main dining room was fairly quiet as most diners chose to sit upstairs in the sun. We must have sat and waited for 20 minutes before someone came to take our order, have dined here for brunch and dinner for at least 6 times and never had an off day like this. Eventually, we got our order in but several diners just walked out because of this same experience and they sat down after us! Anyway, food was good. We started with cinnamon buns which were not piping hot as our prior visits but nevertheless, was good. We ordered a burger and two pork hash. The burger was cooked as ordered and the hash was well done with nice crunchy veggies. The experience was good but would have been better if service was more attentive and prompt. Also, a note to the chef, time to rotate the menu with a few new items.

You can sit on the rooftop garden where your meal is growing. Canāt get any fresher than that. There were four of us, two from Seattle, one from Texas, and one from Colorado. We were lucky enough to be seated on the rooftop. We ate family style and ordered: House Made Potato Chips, Blistered Shishito Peppers, Risotto, Roast Pig, Maryās Chicken Breast, and King Salmon. We each had a favorite. Mine was the Roast Pig. But, everything was delicious. I ordered a special mojito made with some type of Aloe Vera liqueur...chareau??? I donāt see it on the website menu, but I can attest it was the best mojito Iāve ever had. So, I ordered a second one. Unfortunately, the mixologist changed the recipe for another batch and it was quite disappointing. All-in-all, this was one of the best meals Iāve ever enjoyed and will certainly plan to eat here again on my next visit.

nice interior and good food. waitstaff good but not clear on explaining some of the more complex dishes. check-in staff had serious issues with running upstairs to check on tables everytime someone came in with a reservation. complete bottleneck that would have simply been solved by reserving specific tables during reservation process and adding an additional person at front of house. food was good but a bit overcomplicated and underwhelming.

I traveled to Seattle for a training class, brought a friend with me, and stayed in this area. My friend and I walked by, looked at the menu here, and made reservations to return for dinner. We were interested in their commitment to local, and fresh ingredients. We were not disappointed, as the food here was some of the best I've eaten. We got the (new to us), blistered shishito peppers that are delicious, peppery, but mild with a pleasure texture. We had a risotto with feta that just melted in the mouth. Also really enjoyed clams and mussels cooked in a tomato, fennel, herb, and wine sauce. Now these three would have been plenty, but we also ordered a morel mushroom gratin that was so exquisite I can't write about it without a sigh. Then we totally indulged in a delightful panna cotta that just made the meal a celebration.

Perhaps our expectations were too high (we previously enjoyed the chef/owner's prior restaurant in Seattle), but we were disappointed. The restaurant is quite loud and, as a result, it is difficult to carry on a conversation with your dinner partner without raising your voice. When you combine that with the tables being so close together (or sharing a communal table), it means this isn't a good spot for an intimate dinner. Service was very good. The food, however, was merely acceptable. We had the rib eye and the half chicken. The rib eye came sliced, in a fairly small portion given that it was supposed to be a rib eye, and looked and tasted more like sirloin than rib eye. And the heavy sauce poured over it was overpowering. The chicken was a little bit dry. On the other hand, the appetizers were very good. Parking tip: For those not familiar with the area, parking can be tricky as the restaurant doesn't offer valet parking. However, right behind the building in which the restaurant is located is a parking garage with valet parking. It is quite convenient.

Expensive small portions, but delicious! Great for a special meal.I had the Halibut and it melted in my mouth! on a sunny day they open one glass wall to the street. met some lovely people and would recommend if your budget permits. perhaps sharing plates for casual get together. Nice selection of wine.

As regular brunch goers around the city, I was thrilled to take in Terra Plata as our next adventure. At one of our favorite corners of the city with a great 2nd floor patio I had wanted to try it for some time. I booked on open table and there were lots of options. I wasn't sure how long it would take to park, so I booked at 11:45am instead of 11:30, which were both open, and we arrived at about 11:30 since parking was open closeby. Strangely though the greeter had us sit at the entry until our reservation time, even though no one else came in and our table was open the whole time. Weird. Then she gave us the menus for happy hour instead of brunch. It wasn't a great start. The menu had many options for brunch, and I was excited by several. Our server was genuine and friendly and listened to our questions and gave great responses. I had tea, and it was extremely hot, which is an excellent thing. When our meals came, I had a pork dish, and the sauce was too watery for my taste, which made the bed of hash browns mushy that were laying on it before the poached egg on top got down to it. I found the pork under-seasoned, but without salt or pepper on the tables I took the hint that seasoning was not to be questioned. Upon discussion upon leaving my wife and I thought the farm to table idea for brunch was great, but there was no need to return for that style meal. I suspect that their dinner entrees are much better executed and will need to come experience those.

It was not easy getting a reservation for this restaurant, but it was worth the effort. We arrived 15 minutes earlier and we were immediately taken to our table. The place was packed but not noisy nor uncomfortable. The main attraction is their fresh farm-to-table food. That limits the menu but there is a little bit of everything for everyone, in our case, it was shishito peppers, hanger steak, and the pork dish. All were small portions so don't expect to walk out stuffed, but you will be satisfied. The food was fresh, dishes were creative in the use of local produce and flavors. We enjoyed the experience.

Brunch here with a friend did not disappoint! We shared the manchego biscuit and the baguette - all the carbs and all good! I had a delicious egg dish with cooked/saucy tomatoes and feta cheese. Service was great and the place was clean!

I had some time before an afternoon flight back to L.A. and sought at a nice brunch spot downtown to complete my Seattle experience. Enter Terra Plata (or rather, I entered Terra Plata) which was indeed a nice spot with a happening rooftop dining scene available for brunch. Not being a fan of the elements I sat inside in the somewhat empty dining room which had an open feel and piles of biscuits nearby at the bar. Terra Plataās Menu updates frequently which is awesome and always a good sign that a restaurant keeps their offerings interesting and fresh; but unfortunately the dish I wanted from website menu was not what they had on current menu in the restaurant. Restaurants should update their website menus as soon as they update their actual menusā¦many of us wannabe foodies, and particular those of us with particular diets (vegetarian etc.) depend on that information to help choose where to eat, and if we show up and find the exact thing we wanted isnāt on the current menu, itās disappointing. They got kind of close thoughā¦The Wild Huckleberry Crepes I wanted, became ricotta crepes with a huckleberry dressing. I wanted more fruit than cheese and that desire is what brought me in. I ordered them anyway and, although it was heavier than what I wanted, they were still delicious. The topping was a lovely huckleberry syrup (which they brought me extra of) mixed with little bits of mint leaves. The Fonte drip coffee they served was perfect an it came with natural looking cubes of white and raw sugar. A few other items are vegetarian on the brunch menu including items like blistered shishito peppers, and they are also nice enough to label what is gluten free right on the menu which is always super helpful and time saving for folks with that diet. Thereās a full bar with lots of drink options too.

This quaint neighborhood eatery was quite the find during my recent trip to Seattle. We were in there for quick bites and a drink prior to another engagement. It turned out, we decided we needed to go back for a full meal and discover more of their menu items. We were not disappointed. The best dish by far was the seasonal cauliflower made with pine nuts. A treat for the tastebuds!

My wife and I along with another couple visited Terra Plata prior to a play at ACT Theater. I used Trip Advisor to find this restaurant so was not sure what to expect. Well, we were unexpectedly surprised. This has to be one of the best hidden restaurants in Seattle. We had several small plates including charred octopus, lamb ragout, blistered shishito peppers, beet salad and entrees including long cod and roast pig. The service was exceptional and the food is some of the best that we've had in Seattle. This is one restaurant we will definitely revisit!

Had a spectacular, affordable, healthy interesting dinner. Best paella I have ever had. Woman chef and owners. Great garden roof. Loved the restaurant's mission as well for equality. Thanks so much

My friend and I ordered mostly small plates and shared a steak. The stuffed morel mushrooms were the best, as well as the cheese plate. They were attentive in their service, the music was like a mix of popular 70s, 80s, and 90s, and the downstairs allowed for great people watching off of the street. They also have a rooftop, but it was too cold for us the day we went. We went all out with drinks and food, but could be affordable for a trip in the Capitol Hill neighborhood!

Yum! Mussels and clams steamed in a wine/butter/herb sauce, and half chicken with a lovely vegetable mix. Really tasty

This used to be a favorite spot. Great service, great food, great bar. Last 2 times in none of the 3 have come together. Still love the garden and the space, but its losing its step.

Fresh flavourful food, very good service and great location. Everything we ordered on the menu was delicious. I particularly recommend the roasted figs appetizer. Even though we didn't have a chance to seat on the rooftop (I recommend making a reservation!), we got a chance to seat by the open big window, enjoy our meal and fresh air. Nice decor and ambiance.

What's happening at Terra Plata? It used to be so good! We were there for dinner with our two adult children on a recent Wednesday night at 6 pm. There were about 4 other tables occupied. We ordered two servings of the roasted carrots because they are usually so good. This time they were undercooked. My husband & I ordered the duck breast, my son ordered the burger and my daughter, the soup. After quite a wait the server brought the soup & burger. About 30 minutes later our servings of the duck arrived. All together it took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered until everyone had their entree. The server offered her apologies but nothing else. We were very disappointed. It used to be one of our favorite places.

We made a reservation here before we went to see "The book of Mormon" at the paramount theater. The service was great and prompt. The food was excellent and they made sure to fit our large order in the time we had to dine. I would come back here again!

Lovely patio, but our table had mixed feelings on the food. The shellfish dish was delicious (apparently), however the charcuterie board was unconventional to say the least. This is perhaps a nice surprise for some, but itās not often a charcuterie plate consists of chicken liver pate and other mousses. No typical charcuterie meats which is something our server probably should of mentioned on ordering...on that subject, the service was lacklustre. A 20% service tip is automatically added to your bill, totally fine with that, but doesnāt offer an incentive for servers to provide good service, which they didnāt. Wine is also very pricey here. Would return to the patio for a cocktail (better value) but probably skip lunch.

Unfortunately the place has gone down hill in the last year. The dining experience could benefit from less attitude from servers and host. But this is Capitol Hill, and you must expect the Seattle Freeze... The pandemic has brought out the best and the worst of some places. Here, it has been for the worse. Leave the place to the locals and go somewhere else. There are plenty of great, friendly and welcoming eateries in Seattle. This one is no longer one of them.

I've never had such fancy carrots. Or head cheese. Or octopus. The appetizers are designed for sharing, but understand that they are tiny and you'll only be sharing a bite or two. But a wonderful way to try many different foods, and normal foods made different. Plenty of vegetarian options.

Heard good things about the rooftop garden here, so booked a reservation for the garden. The service was great it was beautiful night in Seattle for outdoor seating. The owner kept stopping by our table, she was very friendly and made it feel like were old friends, even though it was first time in the restaurant. The cocktails and food were also very good. We had several appetizers, and I order the mussels for dinner they were quite good.

Excellent food. We shared several plates and all were fresh, delicious and excellently prepared. Tuna, octopus, frites, tomatoes and black cod were yummy-- would order them all again. We had our server recommend glasses of wine to go with and he brought some familiar and some unusual varietals, all good. Make a reservation for the rooftop terrace if you can-- great ambiance!

We came in as we liked the look of the upstairs terrace and the funky look in general. The selection for lunch was extensive and we chose grits and a greek steak pitta. Both were absolutely incredible, the combination of tastes was perfect and just made you want more. So glad we found the place.

We stopped in Terra Plata for a cocktail and appetizer on their rooftop. Great little spot! Fabulous ceviche and cocktails, and the service was top notch!

This little gem has been on our list for what seems like forever. It is usually hard to get into, especially in the summer, so we saved it for a rainy January night. We were a party of 5 and it was absolute perfection. Each of the plates (and there were a lot!) were marvelous. We had someone with an allergy and she was so well taken care of by our amazing server. So, we won't let years go by again without visiting!

This restaurant is a unique and trendy venue in Seattle. We went on a late summer evening and wee surprised to see not many people in the window lined first floor, but found the rooftop patio packed. It is very communal in the set up, so sociability with other diners may be required (but can be fun). There is a very good wine list at a variety of price points for fine wines, and the wine was one of the best we have had in a long time and for the quality at a reasonable cost (Villadoria āBricco Magnoā Nebbiolo, Langhe, Piemonte, Italy, 2013). The menu can be seen as pricy, but with the creativity in dishes, the cost may be within reason. The Spanish Octopus was a good small dish. The other small plates and entrees were good and often unique, but not always with a "wow" factor. We would return for the wine, and are curious about paella night. If visiting and liking a Spanish, trendy, upscale venue, this restaurant is worth the visit. If you want less adventuresome fare, you may want to pass.

I don't mean to be overly dramatic over a decision like where to have dinner, but this was one of those life decisions that will go down in the books. My husband was a little skeptical due to the menu items. We ordered a few different dishes and every single one was amazing. The brussel sprouts were mind blowing and the risotto is something you talk about for days. We finished off with the pork dish which was perfectly accompanied by a Spanish sauce and the steak dish. Loved the ambiance of this little spot, our server was great and the food was phenomenal. I would bet anything on the menu will be impressive!

Nice place for brunch just a few steps from the Starbucks Reserve Roastery. Bunch was a tad pricy but what came to the table exceeded our expectations. The briskets and hash was quite nicely done. The decor is quite nice and cosy, good for a nice relaxing brunch, even if you have kids.

We stopped in here for a drink on our way home, they had a lovely gas fireplace burning along the railing on the Roof Top patio and we had drinks and a delicious Octopus appetizer. We would love to go back, again!

Met a friend here for a lovely Saturday brunch -- not at all disappointed. The steak and eggs was terrific, especially with a side of grits. Across the street from Starbucks Reserve Tasting Room, too!

We were two couples with a mutual anniversary date and a desire to try Terra Plata. About 2 days prior to our reservation, I received a telephone call confirming the reservation, asking if it was a special occasion and did we want to sit on the deck. I responded yes, our mutual anniversaries and yes to the deck. Thoughtful!! When we arrived, we we were led to the deck, but decided we did not want to sit in direct sun. We were graciously shown to a table near the open air door where we had a breeze and could watch the sidewalk traffic. We were presented with a menu wishing us Happy Anniversary and including our first names. Nice touch! The restaurant is nicely appointed in wood, not pretentious but warm and inviting. Noise level was low moderate, at least when we were there. Service was pleasant and attentive but not intrusive. The menu encourages sharing and, as it happens, the four of us enjoy sharing dishes. We ordered the charcuterie, lamb kofte, turnips, beets, and stone fruit. Portions were large enough to share adequately among with four of us. If the weather had not been so warm (by Seattle standards) we probably would have ordered and enjoyed more dishes. No one particularly cared for the turnips, but we thoroughly enjoyed everything else. One of the days, when it is cooler and I have a bigger appetite, I would like to try the roast pig.

We were terribly excited to go here and looking forward to authentic Spanish tapas. This was nothing as expected. Food was sub par, everything soaked in oil and salt, but not Spanish tapas. Our table was next to the washroom in a space that was not inviting. The plates are stacked at floor level (inspectors???).

We got here just as they quit serving lunch at about 2 p.m. We ordered from the appetizers-a cheese plate, a farmer' meat plate, and a broccoli salad. All was wonderful. The cheese plate had 4 different cheeses and the meat plate had different pates and sausages. We ate them with crusty bread. Service was excellent and the large windows were open, giving the impression we were eating outside.

With homemade potato chips, towering burgers full of flavor, and a great menu to satisfy almost anyone, this place is hard to beat. A highlight on our visit to Seattle.

The food was fantastic, from their homemade chips and dip, to their paprika-seasoned fries. We also tried the beet salad with a blue cheese drizzle, arugula and candied nuts, the steelhead trout and the hanger steak. Each was better than the next. Service was also excellent. Setting - big open space, can see into the kitchen. We had reservations.

We came for breakfast and really enjoyed ourselves on a sunny end of the summer Sunday morning. Little pricey, but I suppose that's about location.

Its a bit hard to tell how busy this place is -when we were settled, it didn't look terribly busy but apparently a whole stack of people had arrived just before we did and were seated upstairs because while our food was good. service was very slow. We loved our paella, it was absolutely delicious,we had some cold cuts to share as a starter, they were nice. They came out quickly but the gap between them and the main case was quite long. Out server did come out regularly to apologise and we weren't in a hurry however it was a wait slightly on the too long side of long. Thankfully, the fantastic taste of the generous portion of paella made up for it. Who knew it could be this busy on a Monday night.

We love to go to Terra Plata for our family dinners. Everyone in our family enjoys something fresh from their menu. We order appetizers, salads, veggies and entrees to share.. When the weather is nice we enjoy dining on the roof top. Last night due to Seattle drizzle we sat inside and drank their speciality drink Seattle Raindrops! They also have delicious homemade sodas. My teenagers like the grapefruit and vanilla bean it taste like a creamsicle. The best part of our meal is the outstanding customer service. The chefs and servers do a fantastic job at preparing a fresh yummy meal that is safe for our severely NUT allergic son. Thank. you! We will return!

Really, really great experience at this restaurant. I'm very big about the decor and the ambiance of restaurants, and right away, I was taken with the nice rustic, setting about the restaurant. Me and my family with some friends went on a Monday night, which happens to be Paella Night. I was unsure about if I was actually going to get paella because I'm a vegetarian, however the waiter and host were both EXTREMELY accommodating and friendly. It was a GREAT experience from the get-go. The peach gazpacho and and the cheese plate starters were really well done and just enough for light appetizers. Similarly, the vegetarian paella was really eloquently spiced, with a really great medley of vegetables that were steamed and cooked very well. The other paella were also really good (so I heard from constant "ooh's and aah's"). The dessert was also really great - VERY fresh fig and ricotta pie. Very well done. Highly recommend.

Called in here after a SIFF screening at the Egypt. Walked in as the place looked great with a roof terrace and opening out into the sidewalk. Sat the bar (by choice). Prompt and friendly and super knowledgeable wait staff. Great and extensive wine and beverage list and select but more than adequate menu (as Russell Norman says have a small menu that defines you and do it well-these guys do) Had an amazing salmon dish. Perfectly cooked and presented. A local wine maker was in speaking with the manager about his wine and when I expressed interest both came to me, discussed the wine and vineyard and tried a glass (for free). As a solo diner was treated as important and as warmly as larger tables. Very moderately priced drinks and meals of quality. Open kitchen and a great relaxed and funky vibe. Eat here. You won't be disappointed

I had dinner at Terra Plata on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed. The dishes are perfect sized for ordering a few and sharing, but so good that you want to eat them all. The carrot risotto and lamb bolognese were two favorites. In addition, they have great local beer, wine and spirit selections. Loved the ambiance too.

Menu was different from the website, much more limited... Ordered the pig and it was somewhat disappointing. The flavor was okay but you cannot really tell what they were trying to do. Te waitress described it as soup but there was barely any broth. The shoulder was way too fatty. Not a dish I can recommend. Service was ok ok.

I really wanted to like this restaurant, but it didn't deliver much bang for the buck. Portions were smallish, anchovies unmentioned on the menu kept appearing on plates, and the food wasn't particularly tasty. Add in aloof staff, and my experience fell below the acceptable line. Find a better option in the neighborhood: there are several.

Went for a birthday brunch and they go above and beyond to make it special! The menus were titled with a happy birthday shout out to my friend & they wished her happy birthday. Our waiter, David, was fantastic! They are taking all the COVID precautions. Taking temperatures, providing hand san, etc. Their rooftop terrace is gorgeous and was the perfect backdrop for our celebration.

Our group of six ordered appetizers and mains to share that were all delicious but why would the first 2 dishes (of nine or ten) that come out the kitchen be the braised beef rib and the piglet, the heaviest of the 2 dishes that we ordered? How about the beet carpaccio? How about the rapini? It also meant that dishes with milder flavours swam in the rib and pig sauce. Then the mushroom risotto as the last dish out of the kitchen, albeit just preceded by the halibut. RECOMMENDATION⦠and I hate using capital lettersā¦order 2-3 dishes at a time so that you control what you eat when so that there is some flow to your dining experience .

The food and service at Terra Plata are AMAZING! Chef Tamara Murphy totally understands the farm to table concept! The signature pork dish, and the truffled chips with dip are incredible! This chef has it going on!

Dinner for four. We ordered the octopus nduja and thought we were eating tahini on toast; the grilled eggplant was ok; the roast pork was tasty but swimming in fat and the short ribs were decent. The olive cake was good; the drunk whiskey pudding was sweet, boozy and too liquid-sweet. We left it. The Seattle raindrop cocktail was good. Overall, Good Friday night. Would I go again, perhaps. Was it overrated : YES. The ambience on a rainy evening was busy buzzing and good.

Had dinner with friends on the rooftop here; everything from the super friendly staff to the wine to the amazing food was absolutely wonderful. They even have blankets for when the heaters don't cut it on the breezy rooftop but you still want to enjoy the air and the views!

We were looking for a place on a Friday that would take 5 people, we went and were all impressed with our meals. Try any of the typical Italian dishes and you won't be disappointed. We had great service and food.

Our group spent five days in Seattle and ate at several of the highest rated restaurants in the waterfront, Pike Place and Capitol Hill areas. Terra Plata prepared the best meal of the trip over the likes of Cascina Spinasse, Momiji, Sitka & Spruce, Matt's in the Market and Stateside. While each restaurant had some feature or menu item that stood out, Terra Plata had the two best entrees. The roast pig with manila clams was exquisite and the teres major steak was almost as great. This is a sharing restaurant and this added to the fun of a wonderful dinner. I highly recommend it when in the area.

Fabulous Paella!!! Mondays at Terra Plata is Paella night. Our Paella for two was EXTRAORDINARY! So fresh, nice spice, and full of mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari, best charred chicken, and chorizo. WOW!! Attention to food allergies was done with a "can do" and positive attitude. Love the service and gorgeous rooftop dining environment. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items.

This is such a great place for sharing plates. The food is really high quality and so fresh. They have a really nice wine list and lots of choices for everyone. The rooftop has great views and an amazing atmosphere. I can't wait to go back to this place

...when the worst you have to say about a dish is that that it was good! The black cod we ate last night was fresh and moist, with a perfect skin and nicely complemented with early season chanterelles. Could have been a featured dish at another restaurant, but here is was overshadowed! The blistered shishitos were simply prepared and great fun (who's gonna get the big heat?) and the hand-cut frites were lovely - dusted with just enough smoked paprika. The octopus was a standout dish. I could eat it every night for weeks! Same for the carrots, still crisp and beautifully glazed. Brassicas (last night featured romanseco broccoli and cauliflower) with pine nuts and a fried egg - simple and beautiful, cooked crisp in a lightly "anchovied" bagna cauda - delicious! And a wagyu ribeye grilled to perfection with crunchy sweet potato shoestring fries. Wine: great. Desert: incredible. Service: Awesome. Eating on the rooftop in downtown Seattle in October: brilliant. We loved it and we'll be back!

Here recently on a week night. Showed up exactly on time for our reservation. Was told there was a wait. 50 minutes later (not 15, yes it was 50) we sat down. They apologized offered us a drink (which we didn't want). But when I had made the reservation 3 days prior, there was plenty of availability. There was a convention in town, so clearly they had big parties that walked in and they seated them, not caring that those who were scheduled would be delayed. Hey, if that's how Ms. Murphy wants to run things, more power to her. I'm sure she'll get by with the convention biz, but at least these locals won't be back. Regarding the rest of the experience: servers were friendly, food is good, but left still hungry and spent a lot of money doing so.

I have to read a five star because the food was absolutely amazing the only problem was the service by my server only. One of the paella Iāve had the rice was just fabulous. If you are a foodie it is a must

50 minutes to get our drink order processed! Waitress brought four different wines before she figured out what wine bottle we had ordered. Grossly overpriced. This place is a loser!

I went on a Friday night. I recommend that you make reservations if you want to dine in the 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. when the restaurant was busy. I am a vegetarian who eat dairy and eggs. I was able to find several options to eat. I had the risotto that was very delicious and the chocolate bar for dessert. I recommend this restaurant and plan to eat here again.

Oh my, this place was wonderful. We had a fantastic meal with great service. You have to try the churros with the salted caramel sauce for dessert.

Had lunch here with a coworker and the food was amazing! Can't wait to go back. Also, a great atmosphere and the wait staff was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Arriving late in Seattle on a Friday night we rushed for dinner, unable to check on the local restaurants before hand. We saw there was a table in Terra Plata, round the corner from our hotel, and went right in, lucky to get a place. Turned out to be the perfect choice! We had a beet salad for starter. For the main course we shared the white asparagus (a starter) and the roast pig with clams. Both were exquisite, perfectly seasoned. The pork we recognized form our days in Portugal, it was an āalentajanaā, at least as good as anything we had eaten there. Service was cheerful; prices were reasonable. And all staff are vaccinated - makes one so much more comfortable. Would have gone back to try the upstairs patio, but unfortunately closed on July 4. Will certainly return on our next visit: so many more dishes to try! The menu changes every day, so there should always be a surprise.

Well located. Good food. Nice roof deck. Creative cocktails. Has a nice urban feel to it. What more could you want! Also great for large groups.

Terra Plata that is consistently top notch. Iāve been here multiple times and finally decide red to get off my buy and write a review as I felt they earned it. The patio up top is wonderful and the deck heaters work great once the evening chill starts to show up. The service is fantastic. The waitress knew the menu well and was able to quickly adjust the dishes based on several allergies we had to work with at our table. The food is always just as tasty as it is beautiful. The combinations of ingredients, spices and preparations are extremely creative and earn the right to push you outside your normal eating a palate. Kudos to extreme flavor combos. Their watermelon dish thatās on the menu right now was the surprise highlight get of my night. Canāt recommend this place enough.

We came for dinner on Tuesday(today) and was seated on the terrace. Ordered cheese plate and burgers. After we waited for 40 minutes without any food, the burgers arrived first. We were not served our cheese plate... So when I asked for it, they brought it and didn't charge us for it. The food was average, nothing special. The terrace is nice but quite loud. The waiters are not particularly friendly or rude, just normal. You just wait a long time to get what you want... We also waited for 15 minutes to pay... If you want a quick or a special dinner, this is not the place to come.

Portion sizes were huge (by Canadian standards). I had the shrimp and grits. The amount of grits served was way too much. They could have been an entire meal by themselves. The dish was wonderfully spiced with the right amount of seasonings. The space was nice and chic rustic, with a lot of wood. We sat inside as the morning was chilly and slightly windy, but most went upstairs onto the rooftop patio.

Great uncommon food with a great rooftop deck. Food is special and follows a seasonal menu, always different with a European flare. As a local I love this place!!

We were able to snag a spot at the bar on a busy night and had a great view of the kitchen. They are turning out great food here. The cheese plate was well above average. Of all things, the burger (brisket, sirloin, buffalo) was fantastic! It was great to watch the expeditor calmly work with chef and keep churning out great looking plates on such a busy night.

My wife and I had dinner here on a Thursday evening on a visit to Seattle. It's located in the happening Melrose district on Capitol Hill right across from the Starbuck's Reserve Roastery. We ate on the roof deck which, while not offering distant views, is a pleasant venue with a good vibe surrounded by planters of herbs. We did not try their cocktails; I brought my own bottle of Cabernet and my wife had a couple glasses of bubbly. We started with a radish appetizer, and the hand cut frites, which come in a tall paper cone were excellent. We both had green salads that were very good. For entrees, my wife had a tuna carpaccio (not sure what they called it) which she liked, while I had a steak which was small and came sliced. It was fine but not a very good value for the price. Service was good, if not overly personable. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but there is a garage close across the street.

Terra Plata location is excellent; thatās the good newsā¦. The bad is that the parking can be challenging especially if you want to dine on a sunny day for dinner, or brunch on Sunday. The food at Terra Plata boasts locally grown, and āartisanā choices. There is even a rooftop garden. Which brings me to the next good: The rooftop dining option is great. There are high tables that can accommodate large parties and lots of other seating. It is great on a sunny day. The bad news is that there is no shade provided and the direct sun can get very hot. (even in Seattle) The food is pretty good and the taste on most dishes pops because of the fresh local ingredients. The cinnamon roll and biscuit are large and yummy. The blistered shishito peppers are good, and the Moroccan steak sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. On the other hand⦠I would not recommend their braised greens (too many stems, and bitter) As for the service⦠that is hit and miss also. Unfortunately some of the hosts, and servers who come off āstand offishā and a bit rude. Which makes no sense as there are just as many cons as pros to dining here. They could definitely use some customer service training. So if it is a not so hot dayā¦. You are on Capitol Hill and have a place to park, and you want to take your chance at who will be greeting you at the door. I would recommend stopping in to Terra Plataā¦

Delicious healthy food. A little on the pricey side but well worth it. Every dish is a win here. Love the ambiance and friendly staff members. The roof in the summer is a definite must. Great location.

We were a group of 6 and were timely seated upon arrival @ 8pm. Waiting for the remaining 2 friends to catch up to us @ the restaurant we were finally offered drinks after about 15 minutes sitting @ the table. Thank goodness I went to the bar to get my drink when initially arriving @ the eatery. But even then I stood about 10 minutes until finally acknowledged. We did order some apps to one of the staff personnel but I had to wave somebody down. He wasn't our waiter or waitress but they did work as a solid team. For that I applaude them. Great to see staff work as a unit. Though not until halfway through did we find out who truly was our server. The apps delivered were quite tasty. We ordered roasted Shishito Peppers. Olives. Green Beans. The main dishes were so-so. We had steak only because the Tuna ordered was out. They didn't tell us until ordered, but they could have earlier to avoid the extra delay. One of the friends ordered a hamburger and that was simply fair. The overall experience was fair. It wasn't outstanding or "Wow, we have to come back". The decor is woodsy and somewhat cozy yet kind of tight being the building is on a corner.

Terra Plata is really cute and quaint. Was easily walkable from our hotel. I had the fried chicken sandwich with the chips which was really delicious! And the grits which was also as delicious. Must try the manchego biscuits absolutely delicious. Especially with the grits. They convinced us to have the churros so we got the churros and it was a good decision although we were very full! The customer service was amazing as well.

Very creative and tasty options for a recent lunch, but the menu changes seasonally. In summer the rooftop terrace is a must. Decent wine and cocktail options.

Visited this restaurant for a quick lunch. Menu was limited and very pricey. Food was satisfactory and wait staff were excellent.

A local had recommended Terra Plata to us when visiting Seattle, and after walking by earlier in the day, the rooftop terrace looked like a nice spot for dinner. We made a reservation, but upon arrival were told that the rooftop was full and only inside seats were available. Not a big deal, we sat and quickly found things on the menu we liked. We had drinks and split the two-person paella, which was good, not great. Perhaps a little pricy for two drinks and a shared entree, but the service was prompt and friendly, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming.

The outdoor seating was much warmer than the chilly reception we received at this expensive restaurant. I would describe our waiter's service as robotic but using that word would be a disservice to robots. Do not come here if you are celebrating a special occasion because your buoyant mood will crash as soon as your server asks for your order in a mumbling, desultory manner. It was my birthday; other reviewers got champagne and tomato starters. Wasn't expecting any bonus but was wondering why the service is so uneven. Our next door patrons were greeted by the same zombie-like waiter with such hearty laughter and energetic gusto. So, why do some patrons get the red carpet and others the icy treatment? (I could mention race-related issues, but that's another story).

Our party of five ordered several starters and choices from the earth and land & sea portions of the menu. The charcuterie plate was excellent, as were the frites. The chicken breast was super tender and full of flavor. The burger had great taste and wasn't gamy at all. The roast pig sounds a little unusual with clams and sausage but the combination was great. Leave room for desert.

Ate dinner on the roof. Tables are too close so we were too close to strangers on either side. Staff is not masked. Service was bad. Our waiter had too many tables and disappeared and forgot to bring one of the dishes. The night was pleasant until they turned on the heat lamps and we were so hot we nearly fainted. We asked multiple people to turn them off and no one did until I complained to the nice hostess. All the dishes tasted like a drunk toddler got a hold of the spice rack. No subtle spices on anything. Frites bad. Really fatty lamb bad. Fish bad. Not recommended.

We had an unfortunate experience with another restaurant messing up our reservation with 9 people for a birthday dinner. Took a huge chance and called Terra Plata to get in on the early side. The hostess who was amazing, worked some magic and got us in on the terrace. It ended up being a great night as always there. So glad the other restaurant fell through. We had a lot of things great things on the menu and everything was amazing. Particularly liked the corn, cucumbers, salmon, chicken and Waygu beef. I will continue to go there! Thank you.

We came on a Monday night. The place was hopping. Food was good. Worth the wait/hassle to get a reservation.

This place creates such innovative and delicious dishes that I can't wait to return. The servings are all designed to be shared by three or four people and share you must so you can try a little bit of each creation. Everything we tried was great, starting from the french fries to the mussels and the octopus. The standout dishes were the burrata, the king salmon, and the roast pig. The salmon had a crispy skin, perfectly cooked fillet, and a gazpacho broth. The roast pig had so many different flavors, but they all blended together well. The wine list was not overwhelming and included many fine choices from the region, like a HHH mouvedre by the glass. The decor was warm and casual and the service was friendly and attentive.

We chose this restaurant because it was rated as "Northwest Farm to Table" and it was close to our hotel. The food was amazing, the service was great, and we really liked the whole vibe of the place. The salmon was some of the best we have ever eaten, and we loved the roasted grapes.

What a nice dinner! The food was delicious and the staff were very kind! Lauren, the hostess was helpful by introducing me to the bartender. Craig was quite helpful in assisting my dinner choices as well as making a killer old fashioned I highly recommend this place...couldnāt have been better!

We went on Monday (Paella night) and it's the one thing everyone must get. It's enough for two people though you might want some tapas. We got the hallibut collar and it was large enough to be a small meal and really delicious. Overall a good experience. Service was good. We just had a slightly longer wait than expected even though we had a reservation

We were five adults and two children and we kind of messed up our open table reservations but the host after about 15 to 20 minutes was able to accommodate us. We basically order everything on the menu except for the pig . everything was absolutely delicious. Our only complain was that the salad was a little over salted. they did remove from the bill even though we told him to leave it alone. Took a bunch of pictures and Iām going to include in the review. It was a rainy night in Seattle and floors were very slippery that was my only complaint about the place. Our server was wonderful.

Stopped for brunch on a recent trip to Seattle. What a great find. Excellent service, great flavors and a roof top patio. Very unique dishes. I highly recommend the grits! Make this a stop when in Seattle, you won't be disappointed.

Wide array of choices, well organized on the menu. You could easily over-order because there is so much to choose from. Combination of Seattle-specific ingredients and traditional Spanish tapas, all creatively prepared and presented. I went with a group of 8-too large of plate sharing, in my opinion. Nice variety of wines, with combination of western US, Spanish, and others. Conveniently located in a cozy in-town neighborhood. Casual relaxed environment.

I have eaten here a few times or more a year since it opened. They range from dinners before shows at Paramount theater, several lunch with girlfriend and happy hour. Their rooftop patio is such a wonderful space. Mostly large communal tables to maximize the space but depending on the crowd, leave some space between parties. It is a glorious place with many of the veggies and greens being grown on the patio and making it to your plate. On a particularly hot summer day, we loved sitting downstairs but with the glass slider doors all open so we could enjoy some of the sunshine and warm air without being in the hot afternoon sun. I've also been here in the winter when their wood fired oven kept the dining room warm and cozy. I have never had a bad meal here though one time I ordered cuddle fish that I had never had and wasn't a fan of. I said nothing but the waiter could tell it wasn't what I expected and quickly had the kitchen fire off seared scallops which was a dish that could be quickly made and still make our show in time. The scallops were some of the best ever that I've had. One of the reasons I love to go here is to copy some of the dishes as they are so creative but still approachable and more about delicious food than just being so creative the results make not always work. I am a very good cook but lack the creative genius chef aspect. I'm a good copier and tweaker. My husband just loves some of their dishes that I have copied and have now made it regularly into my repertoire. There are so many great choices to eat in a 2 block radius but I still make sure Terra Plata is in my regular rotation.

Terra Plata - sit on the rooftop, evening light, good wines and lots of sharing plates to work through. Great tastes and treats. Service just right. A delicious evening with friends.

Was at Terra Plata the other night while visiting family here in Seattle. Excellent food, excellent service and the rooftop heaters were positively nuclear so the evening, which got a tad cool later, was perfectly comfortable. Would have to call out every dish because all were great and with nine of us, there were a lot. But the mushroom gratin was one that did stand out and the wine list was pretty stand out too. Recommend highly.

I was visiting from LA, came to Terra Plata at the recommendation of a friend thatās local. Terra Plata has a fun brunch cocktail menu, I tried the Flomosa & Pomelo. The food didnāt disappoint. We had the biscuits & gravy. This isnāt your regular butter biscuit, they make a manchego biscuit. The patatas bravas were also delicious, came with a Spanish red sauce and aioli as well. The Brussels sprouts were also a great choice, crispy and flavorful. The last thing we ordered was the Dutch baby. The Dutch baby is a must try, it was light and airy, the perfect amount of sweet. The service was great, the restaurant is in a fun location with shops in walking distance.

We had dinner on a Thursday night on the roof top. We were told that the plates were meant to share and ordered a grilled asparagus, egg and crouton dish, grilled butterflied prawn with roe, and a pasta dish. The best of the bunch was the asparagus for sure but the asparagus was not trimmed properly. The prawns were delicious but a complete and utter disaster to remove from the shell and small to boot and only 4 of them. The pasta dish was just plain and blah. Service was good.

I've come here on two occasions, one for Paella night (Mon) and the other for normal dinner. Both times - gorgeous food, artfully put-together, great service.. This restaurant has a fun vibe and the rooftop is perfect in every way (heat lamps!). There is a small valet lot across the street on Minor that we park at - it makes getting into the restaurant less stressful than circling the block.. Perfect location and we will be back many more times.

As a local, I've been to Terra Plata several times. Most of my experiences have been positive. However, on April 25, 2018, three work colleagues and I met for lunch on the roof of the restaurant. We are all middle-aged women, three white and one African-American. The restaurant was fairly empty, both upstairs and downstairs. I arrived at the same time as two young, white men who sat next to us. After ordering directly off the menu with no modifications requested, our meals took well over an hour to arrive. The two men next to us were also waiting a very long time. They asked about their meals. The waitress apologized profusely and said she would comp their lunch. Their food arrived and they ate away. Ours still hadn't arrived. So, we gently asked the same waitress. She was abrupt, did not apologize and said she'd get her manager. A very awkward and apparently inexperienced manager appeared and said that they had been very busy (which was clearly false) and that our meals would be out as soon as possible. No apologies at all and nothing offered. My meal and the meals for the 2 other white women eventually turned up. The African-American was the very last to get her meal. Our wait ended up being at least 15 minutes longer than the 2 white men. Because we spent almost two hours at lunch, we were late arriving to an important meeting with a prominent lawmaker. Upon exiting, the manager actually gave us a middle-school sideways glance and didn't say a word. Nothing was comped. No apologies. I will never return, despite it being very convenient.

The restaurant encourages family style dining and it works well for a group. Seven of us had dinner there Friday night; we ordered 6 dishes to share and it was perfect. We were going to the theatre, so we had no time for dessert; therefore I cannot comment on that. We ate a wide variety of foods; all were excellent. The service was very good; we received good help about the dishes from our server, who knew we needed to leave for the theatre and kept the food coming expertly. Cocktails and wine were ordered and we were all pleased with the choices we made.

Itās not worth getting sucked into the convention-center black hole - the frigid mall and pricey steakhouse and all that. We walked the ten minutes into Capitol Hill (over an I-5 freeway that made you pine for Jane Jacobs) and had a wonderful dinner at Terra Plata. Monday was paella-and-tapas night. We were seated on the rooftop - a must - and I drank an old fashioned as night settled. I canāt quite say whether itās Spain-caliber paella - seemed very tasty to me - but when you put the food, drink, and atmosphere together, I thought this was a very special place.

We went as a family group with adult children one of whom is Vegan and another Vegetarian while my husband is definitely an Omnivore lol. We were very well catered for with a separate good Vegan menu alongside the main menu which was impressive. Wait staff were very helpful and friendly while letting us share our time together. Drinks menu had a good selection of cocktails and wine. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. All in all a great place to return to!

WeThe restaurant is very cute in a rustic communal type of way. The appetizers were very good and the service was good. The cucumber salad was AMAZING and the entrees were good, the chicken was a little dry but the pork sausage was very good. The wine was solid and again the atmosphere was very enjoyable. The gnocchi was WOWWWWW sat on the rooftop which was open and airy with a cool fire pit on one end. We had cocktails which were good and we had a few appetizers. The shishito peppers were HUGE and SO TASTY along with the truffle chips with this amazing sour dream dip.
Bad service
We were seated at around 6:10 and the waiter didn't acknowledge us for 15 minutes. He finally took our drink and appetizer order. He came back up 5 mins later with a complimentary drink for the people next to us ( who had sat down 10 mins after us), but nothing for us. Then another 5 minutes later he came back to our table because he could not remember our drink or app order. At that point we had already spent a half hour sitting at this restaurant and they hadn't even queued up our drinks yet. They weren't even that busy. We got up and left. One of the worst date nights ever.
