Great atmosphere, very good Italian Faire

By ThePoundcake |

First let me say I love the ambiance in this place. Very open seating area that is nicely decorated. They had an old black and white movie projected against a wall (no sound) which was unique to me. I started off with the Ricchia salad which was very good and sizable enough to share with my daughter. I had the Tagliatelle Ragu which I found good but not amazing. I will say all there pasta is fresh. My daughter has the Rig Arcobaleno which she enjoyed as well. Very close to a 5, but just could quite get there.

Wonderful pasta

By Leesw8 |

This restaurant has the best home-made pasta. The pizzas are great too. Atmosphere is loud, but good fun. And they show old movies on the walls. Not certain whether they take reservations - we didn't have one, and were seated within five minutes or so of arrival. The restaurant was packed on a Monday night.

Food even better than the atmosphere

By Jeffrey R |

Terroni offers brilliantly prepared southern Italian food. It has a fun (if noisy) atmosphere, with vintage Italian films showing on the wall, Italian language lessons piped into the restrooms, and a retro foosball table on the sidewalk outside. Food is served at indoor tables, outdoor tables, and the bar. The bartenders are friendly and that is where I like to eat. One quirk of Terroni is that they will not alter any of the dishes on the menu in any way. If you are the kind of person who likes to customize your order by asking for extra capers or telling them to hold the salt or whatever, go somewhere else. They will not budge, and you will leave angry. But the menu is extensive and the kitchen really knows what it is doing. Let them show you what they can do. [Note: the address you have above is incorrect. Correct address is 7605 Beverly Boulevard.]

A great place to eat/drink

By Sherryl G |

Great food (had pizza which is massive and delicious), staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their food and drinks.

Fantastic pasta

By Kelly V |

Had an amazing lunch here. I had Reginette Gorgonzola e Salsiccia. Homemade pasta, homemade Italian sausage, Gorgonzola and radicchio - it was awesome. My colleagues had freshly made Tagliatelle with a Bolognese sauce which was equally delicious. Fresh bread with olive oil rounded out the meal. The entrees were $17, not bad for fresh pasta.

Food was great and the sommelier very friendly and knowledgable

Disappointment

By Chiili |

We visited Terroni last September and the food was excellent. We liked it so much we wanted to come back. The calamari was over cooked, the linguine with clams had no sauce and hardly any clams. The spaghetti lemoni I did not taste like lemon but rather sour. The only thing that tasted good was the pizza which was excellent. Not sure why the food took a downturn in such a short time. Will not be going back. I am very sad as I was looking forward to this meal.

Excellent wine list.. love all the pasta made in-house.

Really

By Johnmaui |

Great staff, nice, friendly. The food was amazing, just like being in Italy, so good! How every they charge you and extra 4% to eat inside!! Really, in the middle of Winter. We will not return!

Good, not great - doesn't meet the hype

By mtjllc |

Went there with the fam for diner. This is apparently a very difficult place to get a reservation - it has some type of cult following. I don't see it. Don't get me wrong, it's a good place but I don't feel like it is worth the hype. The sommelier is good but she is aggressive bordering on rude. She openly admonished me in front of my family for looking at the wine list when I spoke to her..."don't look at the wine list, look at me..." Maybe that is her "schtick", but had we not been hungry and with our kids, we would have walked out after that comment. We tried a lot of dishes and they were generally ok to good. Our waitress was excellent. The hostess is awful and acts like she is running the velvet rope at 1Oak! They ran a Cinco de Mayo special of Mexican food which made zero sense given that they are an Italian restaurant! My suggestion, if you are looking for Italian, look somewhere else. If you are dying to check the box and eat here just go in understanding that you will like;y get brushed off or insulted.

Excellent meal!

Went with friends while in LA. Wonderful meal, very authentic. Great service, waiter was Terrific. Would definitely go back!!

Couldn't hear my food......

By kodosan |

Great menu, wine list, and imported delicacies but too damned loud. Proprietors made a valiant attempt at converting a former bank to a trendy restaurant space but obviously ignored the acoustics. When the place is packed, it is nearly impossible to carry on a conversation or even hear your server.

v good casual Italian

By Tom_Cobbley |

Visited early on a weekday evening recently, with a work colleague. Sampled a couple of fine reds by the glass and chose the calamari and a meat platter. Calamari is one of those dishes that's very easy to get wrong, and most people do, but this was bang-on. Tempura-style batter and the fish cooked perfectly. The place was empty around 5.30pm but packed by 7pm. Service excellent, but not the cheapest place in the neighbourhood. Recommended nonetheless.

Noisy yet fun and energy-filled vibe!

By maruska c |

We love this place but be prepared not to be able to hear every word your companions say--Good to excellent food and wines. Large salads--enough to share. Excellent bread.

5+ Star Rating

By Calvin D |

The freshly made pastas are outstanding. I recommend the eggplant pasta. For an appetizer the baked oyster mushrooms are excellent. Terroni takes pride in their wine list, don't bring your own, because if you go $60 and red the Sommelier will hook you up with some great Nebbiolo's. Great desserts too. You'll love the service, just an all around great evening.

Fun place

By Jeremy T |

We were driving by and noticed Terroni A busy place and figured it was worth a try, we both had The tagliatelle Bolognese. A large portion which we could've split, snd delicious. Our server Mike was most pleasant and attentive. I would go back.

Mixed review

By M M |

The appetizer ordered, Funghi Assoluti was amazing. The Tiramisu was exceptional. The entrees in between were so so. The Nizzarda salad was made with canned tuna. The pizza, Smendozzata, was average as was the Spaghetti Al Limone. Nothing special in the entree offerings at all. Given the prices the value just wasn't there. The staff was pleasant but overall this place just didn't hit the mark. I would say for drinks and appetizers, or for coffee and dessert this place would be worth it. For a full dinner I was not impressed. It's close so we might stop in for drinks but dinner will be someplace else.

Great Italian food!

By spalla67 |

This was my second visit at this restaurant and I am happy to say that the quality is consistently perfect! The service was excellent, and I was really impressed when I asked for an item that was not on the menu and the chef told me that he was able to make it without any problem. That was a great touch and made me wanting to go back on my next visit to Los Angeles.

excellent little italian restaurant~

loved it. the food was fantastic. wish I had the recipes. would definitely recommend. owner and staff very inviting.

Delightful Neighborhood Restaurant

By BocaGators |

This neighborhood Italian restaurant is small, crowded and noisy, but they make all their own pasta and it provides tasty dishes with fresh ingredients.

Poor attitude

By TeegeeLA |

This rating is no reflection of the food or the place itself. It is merely a reflection of the attitude we were given by the hostess upon arrival. I won't go into detail on here but terms like 'snobbish' or 'preconceived' or 'monosyllabic' pretty much describe how she came across. I realize that this place received a Certificate of Excellence in 2013 and maybe we just happened to pick a day when that lady was in a bad mood. Nonetheless, we were really upset and left without ordering anything.

REAL italian food!!!

By j_burg |

If you want some good, REAL Italian food and don't have the money to fly to italy for the evening...go to "Terroni". Everything they make is fresh and they spare no cost with finding the best ingredients! I'm from Toronto (where we actually have three locations) and I've recently moved to LA. Let me tell you it was a HAPPY day to see that "Terroni" sign!! We eat there three or four times a month. I recommend everyone to try!! mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Great Dinner Last Night

By Jon Simmons |

It was a good dinner. I don't think this place is the best for Italian food. But it is a good restaurant with really good food and a fun lively atmosphere. My steak was good. The pizza was good and the pasta was excellent. So all in all you can't go wrong here for a fun LA dinner. But they serve Italian cuisine from a particular part of Italy that you might not get as often. A great place. .

Great pasta and a relaxed atmosphere!

By Ebba H |

This place has a very relaxed atmosphere - I could see a dad and his kid eating dinner and working/doing homework. The pasta is cooked perfectly al dente and very tasty!

At the rooftop patio August 28 was a fantastic experience.Good food and wine and a marvellous ambiance. Will return soon I hope.

Celestial!!!

By Gian Chi |

I don't know how this place doesn't have 5 stars. Even better than many restaurants in Italy. Excellent quality raw materials, highly rated service and very kind staff. A flagship in LA. You are served immediately with a bottle of water (and not just glasses) and delicious Apulian bread accompanied by a heavenly extra virgin olive oil and chilli pepper in oil. We took 2 beef carpaccio, cavatelli alla norma and aubergine rolls and some excellent Vermentino wine. Everything superb!!!

Great food, snotty service

By chiontheroad |

The fried calamari came with lemon only. It was NOT spectacular. So I asked if I can BUY some tomato or marinara sauce only to be told that they sell it in a jar ONLY. In an Italian restaurant? Seriously? The sausage appetizer the waitress recommended was amazing. Not sure what its called. But amazing. There were 5 of us. Everyone loved their dinner. Desert was amazing. We ate everything in front of us. One of the last in our party planned to lick her bowl after she consumed everything. My 2 star rating come from service. Waitress was snotty. The support staff was snooty. They must retain them in house to be snooty. I asked for something, waitress said they only serve authentic. Ib asked her how she know, she said she been to Italy. I been to Paris dies not make me a f Frenchman. One of our party asked for a spoon to help her with the pasta. Wait staff brought it with utter disdain as if it's beneath him. Lovely face. I go out to eat to enjoy and entertain. Not to be schooled. They are busy and successful. God bless them. Maybe purple in LA like to be treated like that. For this simple Asian middle west raised. I will seek my entertainment elsewhere.

By Sightseer55743 |

Although their name is a racial slur in Italian, the food is great & the classic italian movies playing on the wall are a great addition to the atmosphere. The white pear, prosciutto white pizza (which sounded odd) was terrific.

I love the pork chops!

I love the pork chops!

Fake Italian food and not fresh !

By Arnaud D |

Very disappointed cause the web site looks great and we were very happy to go there but, bad reality, the food was very average and worst the food was not fresh I get sick after eating vongole ! I really not recommended this place if you looking for some great Italian restaurant don't go there.

Authentic Italian Food

By etsmith |

It's been awhile since having Wild Boar Ragu on pappardelle but Terroni's version brought me back to Siena with the first bite. The pasta was freshly made and the Ragu was meltingly delicious. A roasted beet and goat cheese salad was a refreshing starter. Beautiful wine list with labels you won't see elsewhere. Spaghetti Limone is a family favorite. This is a busy place on account of its excellent food at fair prices, so don't expect a hushed atmosphere or impeccable service. Come for the food and you won't be disappointed.

The real Italian food

By Chiili |

The food transported you to Italy. The calamari was light and crispy with a very light bread and just served with lemon just like that do it in Italy. The pizza was amazing. The squid ink pasta with blue crab and lemon was fantastic. The branzino was served with fresh vegetables and was delicious. Wine list was good. Would go again in a heartbeat. Service ,was relaxed and excellent.

My type of place

By vinny p |

The pasta is perfect, that's what I go for. My girl loves the salads, I herd the pizza is really good but in from Newyork so it's hard for me to eat pizza out here. Nice wine selection and the staff is great. One thing I think is fun is going to the bathroom you can learn Italian 🙌🏽

2 Visits, 2 Completely Different Experiences

By Ambersea |

Our first visit was wonderful. Our server was a delightful young man with a lot of body art. He was very attentive, funny and charming. Service was 5 stars. We ordered grilled octopus, which was probably the best in L.A. Then, we ordered the Branzino, which was de-boned, but served with head and tail. It too was delicious. We also ordered two pizzas to go. The C't Mang is a white pizza with mozzarella, gargonzola, fresh pears, walnuts, speck (smoked prosciutto) and honey...5 stars, utterly divine! The other one, San Nicola di Bari is tomato, mozzarella, Italian tuna, red onions and capers... rather bland, we wouldn't order it again. Our second visit, must have been the night that they weren't on television. We just came in for pizza. Our server was a pretty, dark-haired woman with all the charm of a prison matron... she gets 1 star. I ordered the Peppino pizza, with tomato, garlic, grilled eggplant, zucchini, roasted red peppers and parmigiano. I asked that they leave off the zucchini. I was told that they didn't leave anything off. Strike One. I ordered San Pellegrino water. She said okay, but brought out another brand in a green bottle without bothering to tell me. Strike Two. My friend ordered San Giorgio, with tomato, mozzarella, spicy calabrese salame and fresh mushrooms. We were taking them to go and wanted to share them, so we asked her to cut each in half. She snapped that they don't do that, she grabbed a knife and fork and started sawing a small piece rather sloppily. We stopped her. Strike Three! If I were only rating the first visit, it would have been 5 stars. But the second was such a disaster, that I reduced the overall rating.

Great food, great spot

By MikeC |

Wonderfully hip place, superb authentic Italian cooking well prepared, excellent service, with a fairly small but wonderfully chosen select group of good wines, mostly Italian (I would hope so). Amazing that can actually park nearby on the street! Got there early and it was packed solid by 700. Others below complain about the noise but we found it acceptable, and I have always said a packed house with noise means happy customers. Decent bill given the food, not skyscraper prices for super food served well. Came well reccomended and our friends were right.

Best pizza in L.A.

By sololapio |

I travel very often to Los Angeles, and I try to maintain my latino-italian way to eat....but it is not always easy in California!!!!! Anyway this year a bunch of italian friends living in L.A. took me to Terroni to taste its pizza...well after years of trying and trying different restaurants I found a pizza that is very similar to the one I eat at home! So....go for it!!!!!!! Terroni is not my favorite italian restaurant in L.A., but it definitely will become an alternative. Good value, easy atmosphere, good service, and good italian food overall. They also sell some specialities with their own brand such as peperoncino...to try!

Downtown Terroni

By woccer |

There's another Terroni which is located downtown @ 802 So. Spring St. Corner 8th and Spring. Been there now about a year I'm told so not sure why it doesn't show up on the TA radar but I can attest to it's quality. Personable server, we joked about the no substitution rule. Strictly enforced it seems but not in any sort of didactic manner. Pasta was fresh and the burrata delicious. Not something I have very often but glad I did. Beautiful old bank bldg. renovated w/ some modern touches that don't detract from it's origins. Valet pkg and a fair amount of foot traffic so all in all highly recommended.

Food was OK. Attitude Not So Great....The customer IS always right.

By TannTravels |

We started off with a bottle of white wine; which was great selection and very reasonably priced. I often stay across the street at La Brea when visiting LA and have been dying to try this place out. We ordered the fried calamari, the portion was small, but fresh; a little much on the salt. Additionally, I asked for a side of marinara and they said we don't serve marinara with out Calamari. No kidding; that's why I asked for it on the side, but they wouldn't. I also got the spinach, prosciutto and fig salad; would be better if the figs were sweetened. Lastly the pizza came out and it was not cut. I asked them if it could be cut in the kitchen as were sharing it and they said No; we do not cut our pizza; they are served Napolitano style. While I understand that it preserves the temperature of the pizza if I ask for it to be cut; it should be able to be cut. Twice in one evening I was no for stuff they did have in house; just refused to do it. Not sure I would go back.

Wanted to love this place

By Trenchcoatkitties |

This is the kind of place you really want to like !!! No issues with other posters re: service. I should say I eat dinner early. Staff were courteous and the bartender made three killer mixed drinks. The food is mediocre. The fresh pasta was ruined with the sauces. Sauces were simplistic and too salty. Nothing special. Salad was a bowl of bagged mixed greens overdressed and laden with jarred peppers and a few olives. Delicate squash blossoms over treated with a deep fry and crust. Like u said this a place you want to root for but I can't recommend it and won't be returning. Gave it three stars for the drinks and bread ( had to ask for it )

Very pleasant evening

By julie3607 |

Deliciously prepared and presented Italian food; so fresh and full of flavor. Party of four each ordering different meals, each giving the food, service and ambience a big thumbs up. Our waiter was attentive and patient with our indecisive selection making, we enjoyed every minute and bite.

Noisy and Busy for Pasta

By GEDLosAngeles_CA |

I know. The pasta is supposed to be special, and maybe it is. But it's not that special so that one has to withstand the noisy, busy atmosphere and the indifferent waiters. Why go here when there are numerous nearby Italian restaurants with better atmosphere and better food? Want to have a nice long conversation? Better sit outside at the Beverly Boulevard tables. Sure, the street, with buses and lots of traffic, is noisy but not as noisy as inside.

Nice ambiance

By kbarreto |

Authentic Italian food, service was fast and efficient. We were there for a business lunch. All the food we had was good.

We didn’t like...

By veropalumbo |

We ate at this restaurant some weeks ago. We are italian and we are in LA for work, we perfectly know that it’s not easy to find a real italian restaurant in Usa, but we tried the same. We booked a table but we had to wait at least 30 minutes. The place is very crowded, it’s impossible to speak and during ghe waiting we noticed that the cleanliness is not the priority of this restaurant. The food was not good: I ordered pasta with clams and bottarga, it was a nightmare. The calamari fritti (fried calamari) were terrible, pizza was not good at all. We’ll never come back

Delicious casual chic

By SC |

We stopped by at 4pm , after next door massage at The Now next door (btw excellent, cute, and $60 for 50 minutes --a deal!) So had seen the restaurant and my colleague and I were a little hungry, as no lunch, and were going to 9pm late diner. They couldn't be friendlier, delicious, and great wine. We sat outside, great LA weather! Breadcwas also very good! Will cone back next time in LA for real full meal. Highly recommended in West Hollywood

Great Italian food!

By Aikane B |

Love this place! The food was great, the wine list is amazing, and the staff was uber-competent and attentive. My only "complaint" is that it can be quite noisy, but I guess that's what happens when you're popular. We went on a Friday night after all. The valet was a bit tricky as it was really backed up, but it worked out alright (I mean, it wasn't my car that they brought to me, but it was a huge improvement, so...). The octopus I had at lunch the week before was not offered that night, but if you see it on the menu, get it! The baked oyster mushrooms are fantastic but do not heat up well at home (learn from my mistake). All of the pizzas are good. The pasta portions can be a bit small by American standards, but they are what would be served in Italy (at least the time I have been to Italy). Share some appetizers, order some wine, have a great pizza, and a wonderful night!

Excellent food

By MS06 |

I had the lamb ragu, which was superb. Everyone else enjoyed the meals as well. The waitstaff were friendly and efficient,

Loud, Loud, Loud!

By marinadelrey11 |

Unfortunately you are basically yelling across the table to be heard! I swear my friend and I had to lean into each other to talk 10 inches away from our faces!!! It got so loud at one point we just starred at each other and could speak no more! Not a good place to catch up with a friend and share a nice dinner and wine... WHY do the owners not fix the acoustics in there I do not understand! Our ears were ringing when we went outside - like we were at a concert! We were exhausted after yelling for 1 hour!!! BUT it does have very good food - so my suggestion is to go on the off hours!!!

Good, but....

By emauro |

I made a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. The food is good but they switched 2 plates and the size of the gnocchi portion is very small. It looks like an entre instead of regular plate.

ITALIAN style&taste in LA

By JEAN LOUIS |

been there 2 times in a week. Pizza is really similar to Italian best one, restaurant dishes are amazing! suggested Burrata and Duck. wines list very good, sommelier prepared and very kind.

Not as good as it use to be

By clacdancer |

I used to love going to Terroni. The food was not as good as it used to be. The flavors were average. The remodel made it even noisier then before. Totally a disappointment. After going many years to Terroni, I will not go back.

Italian fare cute restaurant

By Trudi G |

I have been there a few times and it's ok...for me nothing stood out as being exceptional...and I love pizza and pasta...but location is good as you can go to Farmers Market/The Grove before/after...

Excellent evening and meal

We had a wonderful evening at Terroni's last night with family and friends. Service was wonderful and attentive. Food was great - including appetizers, meals and dessert.well worth the money.

Loved their new downtown Los Angeles 810 Sth Spring St Terroni

By Linda J |

Cannot find Terroni situated in Downtown Los Angeles on Trip Advisor, its on the corner of 8th and Spring Street, and I haven't been to the Beverly Blvd restaurant... but this was a fantastic experience in the old bank building down town. It has a super buzzy atmosphere and attentive and caring staff. The food is authentic with a wide tasty and tempting variety and their bread to die for! Check out the big internal window closet thing full of cured meats and cheeses. Loved that huge chandelier in where the booths are. I look forward to returning next time I visit downtown Los Angeles.

Good Place

By Ameena |

After listening to my brother go on about how great Terroni is, I finally had lunch with the family here this past Sunday. The Good: * Beautiful restaurant * Lots of parking (some of it free!) * Great location next to the Grove * Amazingly nice waitress * Nizzarda Salad, Rigatoni Arcobaleno, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese are all top notch The Okay: * Wasn't a fan of the Margherita or Marinara Pizza * Bread served upon being seated (always my favorite part of any meal) was dry and nothing to write home about * Substitutions are NOT allowed at this restaurant Bottom Line: This place is tasty but don't get the pizzas. And don't go here if you are picky!

Amazing pasta!

By LadyTravelBug930 |

Loved the spaghetti limone...so good! Gnocchi was good too. Was there for a bday party, had a great time. Fun, hip place with delicious food. House proseco was fantastic for you bubbly fans.

Overpriced, poor service and attitude

By cqfp123 |

A group of us went for dinner on a night when they had a live band playing. They don't accept reservations.and we ended up with a tiny round table in a corner, taking turns sitting and standing. All menu items are overpriced ($15 for a pizza margherita). The place is very loud (even without the music) and service not very attentive. We paid the group bill partly in cash and partly by charging a few credit cards. The waitress was not pleased with the result and went on a long rant that we didn't leave her enough of a tip after occupying the table and spending $20 each. My pizza was good, but there a lot of places around serving excellent food with far better service. Not recommended.

Haute attitude without haute cuisine

By Truebluesy |

We went there with our small children and they couldn't have been less accommodating. They wanted to charge us to split a plate for the kids, wouldn't cut the pizza for us -- all because they said they "didn't do that here". Are you kidding me? This place is basic Italian food, nothing fancy basically a half step above the food you'd get at any pizzeria in town. That's fine -- it's not crazy expensive -- but the attitude they present with their rules, as if you're at a top restaurant -- you gotta be kidding me. We'll never be back.

Great meal, didn't need a reservation.

By Matt L |

We stumbled upon this restaurant walking around downtown LA on our first day. We went there for supper on our second day there. We didn't need a reservation, and had no idea what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. the service was excellent, and the food was very, very good.

Delicious homemade pasta!

By C H |

We got our meals to go because we could not dine in this night. They were each delicious. All of the pastas were fresh and homemade and paired perfectly with sauces. They all came hot and nicely presented (which isn’t easy with take out). Our favorite Things to do is eat in at Terroni but this was a close second.

Good Food...service???

By Ilume |

Being from Toronto and home of one of my favorite restaurants, Terroni's, I was looking forward to comparing the West Hollywood location. This location is a little smaller than I expected but had that very familiar great vibe and fantastic food for a nice dinner. Our only disappointment was our waitress. Although we had everything we needed, it was provided with minimal input, conversation or enthusiasm. The sommelier was great and recommended a nice bottle for dinner. Will try the other LA location next time.

Great Italian

By nikkigfoster |

Visited for a business dinner and the food was so good. It's so fresh and authentic Italian. I will definitely return!

I wish there was a Terroni in Miami

By brunogennieser |

Wow. Buccatini Amatriciana I dream of you, almost daily. Cool place every way I look at it. Wine list was not bad, server was efficient and friendly and the food delicious. I would love to have a party in the large room behind the bar.

Busy and lively CA / Italian

By Stu |

A huge old bank building renovated into a restaurant with a few of the banks features still visible through the haphazard interior design..looked more like a prop hire place than a restaurant with a common theme IMO. My food was adapted from the menu as there wasn't much Vegan fare but what I had was good not great but good, my friends had meat and fish and they agreed it was good not great. I'm sure you could do a lot worse in the area but for a quick dinner, beer or wine and some eye food as you watch the nightlife of Downtown LA walk past the Terroni, judging by how busy the place was on a Sunday is probably near the top of the list of places to go here.

Excellent Italian

By Neil D |

Great pizzas and a great variety of them. Probably the best hot peppers in the world. The only drawback is that it is noisy and not conducive for a relaxing / romantic night out. Sitting outside on a nice afternoon can be fun.

Tasted good but.....

By Fred9679 |

Went last night with another couple and left unsatisfied for the following reasons: 1. Too darn loud inside to carry a conversation with anyone 2. Portions very small for the price 3. Our server was very nice but not good at his craft We did like: 1. Tastiness So, if you don't mind small expensive portions with iffy service, this is the place for you. Enjoy

One of the best meals I've ever had!

By onetravelling |

Found Terroni on Google last minute and visited with some colleagues. The service was great. Attentive and very knowledgable on the food and wine. LOVED everything about the place, atmosphere, food, wine, decor, the lot. So much so we visited twice in one week! Cannot rate this place highly enough.

Amazing Italian Restaurant

By Vivienne H |

This restaurant isn't what you would call "pretty", rather modern chick. Can be very noisy when full. Other than the noise, it's the best Italian restaurant I've frequented recently. All the pasta is homemade. We had three different pastas, each cooked to perfection. Drinks were all perfectly prepared. I had the Napolatano special which was absolutely amazing. Not sure of the names of the other pasta dishes, but everyone loved them....I tasted them all and, yes, amazing as well. One of us had the Branzino which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We had a reservation and our table was waiting. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and fun. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a real treat.

Worth the Wait

By Polly |

We tried to call and make reservations but they unfortunately don't take reservations. We got there about 820pm on a sunday and had to wait half an hour, but we were able to sit at the bar and have drinks while we waited and look at the menu. we ordered papperdelle bolognaise and a shrimp linguini special that was on. Both pastas were really flavourful even though they were smaller portions with less ingredients the both were still really fresh and full of lovely flavours. (They make all the pizzas and pastas fresh on the day) The pizzas did look good as they were going out but we didnt try them. (Tip: They also dont cut the pizzas and refuse to give you parmesan cheese on any pasta dish with seafood because it 'ruins the delicate flavours) The only gripe i had was that i got on large prawn (head and all) sliced in half for my pasta, could have been a few more, but that one prawn was tasty! For desserts we got the chocolate lava/brownie cake and the nutella donuts with hazelnut ice cream. Both desserts were amazing and recommended to us! Good/Large italian wine selection as well. Service was very good an attentive as well. Only minor thing is one single toilet for male and one for female. But clean.

Bad food and grumpy wait staff

By Bebop Cowboy Forever |

How do you like your brunch of egg whites cooked in a pan in which a steak was just fried up in it? That's what my wife got. My own meal was mediocre at best, The faltering Sunday mid-day service can be grumpy, unhappy (or mildly depressive?). I have been to Terroni's Fairfax location four times in four visits to LA but this last time made me wonder if I would make a mistake by coming back?

Great Italian Restaurant

By Mickeyog |

I liked the service, food and great wine selections. The location was within walking distance to the hotel

Aimed very much at the 'hipster' market!

By rdelaney8 |

My wife and I were staying nearby and had walked past this restaurant the day before. Feeling like some Italian food, we decided to give it a try. The food was good and the service was quick and attentive. We are from Australia and thought that the prices were similar to what we would expect at home from a similar level of restaurant. The acoustics are a bit of a worry and the place is definitely loud. If the weather is good you would be better off sitting at an outside table as the traffic noise would be less intrusive! It seems that they are aiming for a hipster market looking at the clientele that was present when we were there. Nearly everyone seemed to be twenty to thirty somethings. Being a bit older than that we felt a little out of place. Not that we were made to feel like that by the staff at all, it's just what happens when the target market is obviously not your demographic! As the restaurant seems to be doing well by how busy they seemed, it probably doesn't matter that much to them that a wider target market wouldn't be a bad thing?

Spring street branch is amazing!

By debbiebreslaw |

We ate the best meal we had in Los Angeles at the Spring street branch which is in an old bank building. There was a great buzz about the place and the staff and owner were very helpful and friendly. it was recommended to us by a chef in LA and we took his parents to dinner there as a thankyou for their hospitality. We had such a fun evening with loads of good food and unusual Italian dishes. The pasta and pizza were delicious as were everything else we had. I don't know about their other branch but this one is to be recommended highly!

Good food in trendy spot

Crowded and very loud. Traditional and some creative red sauce Italian dishes. A little pricey. Service was very good.

Excellent meal!

By dalbertson |

Popular, friendly neighborhood Italian restaurant. Bartender happy to give tastes to help us make our wine selection. Server was pleasant and helpful; happy to give recommendations. We both enjoyed our pasta dishes - not too saucy and really fresh. Nice vibe - it was on the louder side so not ideal if you're with people who don't hear well but otherwise a good option for all.

Amazing!!!!

By Gillian D |

My boyfriend and I were staying in the area and we're looking for a restaurant for dinner. We walked past Terroni and it was busy which is a good sign! We walked in at 7:15pm and had to make a reservation for 8:15pm, so we went for a stroll around Pan Pacific Park and had a wine at The Grove to kill time. The wait was well worth it! The staff were friendly, the vibe was funky and energetic, the food was divine and reasonably priced! We got cocktails which were delish too! Will definitely come back next time we're in LA!

Italian Chain Restaurant

By JanetAR |

My friend and I went here last Friday night for dinner. My friend is from Italy so he questioned the waitress about menu items but she wasn't knowledgeable and when asked if we could customize a pizza, we were told that they cannot make any changes to the pizza toppings, "it just comes as it is". Clearly this statement was troubling and proves that they must come pre-made and are just put directly into the oven and the pizza's are not "created" by a chef onsite. Overall the food was good, especially the grilled octopus. I've had better pizza, but it was OK. Just keep in mind that this is a chain with locations in California and Canada. You can't customize your pizza, which was disappointing.

Happy :)

I am from Italy but I worked in LA so I have to Terroni several times. First of all the location is really nice, set like an old italian Tabacchi is a good place to enjoy even just for an aperitvo. Furthermore waiters are really polite and always ready to help. Last but least the food it is amazing, best Pizza I have ever had in United States. Not the best pizza I have ever had but is the best you can get in California so definitelly TOP.

great food, good atmosphere, great wine list.

I had lunch at this restaurant and I really Enjoyed it. The charcuterie plate was phenomenal, great quality of meat and cheese. The pizza was really good and the pasta was very well prepared. I was really impressed by the staff, everybody was friendly, attentive and helpful. I will go back next time I am in LA

Italian on Beverly Blvd

By Suzanne |

Very relaxing and good food. The menu gives a wide variety of selection from specialty pizzas to pasta dishes , and panini sandwich’s. Prices are reasonable. Outside seating and inside. You can park one block down for an easy walk. Service was attentive and courses completed before the next to the table.

Fresh pasta!

We had been in Terroni a couple of times. The food is really good. All the dishes are really Italian. The bread is good, the pasta is fresh, the cocktails are great...

Southern Italian in DTLA

By Eric G |

Terroni first opened in Toronto and is now in LA. Located in a beautifully remodeled 1924 bank building, the space is stunning. The food is good and nicely presented, but the space is even more memorable. We were part of a big group at lunch and the service was a bit uneven. The crowd was eclectic, business people, police and hipsters.

A Great Place for a drink or a bite

By scotttmiller1 |

Lively, fun, casual, great food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices, great happy hour. I wish I was there more often. I like sitting both inside and outside. Good for dates, meeting friends and taking out-of-towners. Clearly I go a lot. Enjoy!

Excellent Italian Food

By dfscot |

Private Dinner with colleagues and friends; good selection of fresh Italia foods including pastas and pizza; good wine selection in an informal atmosphere. Neighborhood is perhaps what one might describe as "up and coming"

Very low quality food

By AMO |

Sorry but presenting spaghetti al limone that are overcooked is not proper in any form of restaurant. The tiramisu was good as a presentation but lacked of taste and was most likely older. The place is small and casual but the food is simply not at all good

Always Amazing

It had been a while since we had been here, and it's easy to forget just how incredible this restaurant is. You cannot go wrong ordering just about anything on the menu. Good, authentic Italian, in a lively but comfortable atmosphere.

Dinner with Friends

By starrbretraveler |

Recently, we had a group of us looking for a place that could take care of all of us. There was 8- going to dinner with 8 can always be tough however, we arrived to an amazing table, service and food. The staff was beyond at tentative granted the place was PACKED it was like it didn't matter they were still there to clear a plate, refill a drink and even share a story. The sommelier brought us a wonderful rose which he explained how he purchased it from a wine maker in Italy- we loved hearing the process. Anthony the GM is a doll! We've already booked another large dinner there in September. The pizzas are divine, pasta so fresh you may consider just eating it plain cuz honestly, it's so good. Thank you for the experience

My favorite go-to for Italian food in LA

By AvidTravelStefen |

There are many reasons why I love this, the original LA Terroni, and have done so for many years (maybe 8 or 9). For one, I can walk there from my house in about 25 minutes. Eighty percent of the time I sit at the bar and, since I know pretty much all the bartenders, always have a great evening even if I go by myself. There are often other solo diners around the bar and I have had many interesting conversations with others. The food is very consistent. I have my favorites, like the Spaghetti al Limone, or the pasta with sausage and summer truffles, the latter of which is on the seasonal portion of the menu which you won't see listed on their website. The by-the-glass wine selection is extensive and, of course, sitting at the bar allows easily for a taste before getting a full glass. The by-the-bottle wine list is also massive and focuses almost entirely on Italian wine, although some bottles from Sicily and Sardegna sneak in from time to time. I tried the downtown location when it opened a few years back, but it just didn't have the some cozy vibe as my Beverly Blvd favorite. On a hot summer night, you might even feel inclined to eat outside at the few tables that are usually out there on the sidewalk. Enjoy!

Pompous, Terroni's way or the highway :/

By 4truth |

Dinner for three. Overpriced, pretentious, small portions. Go here for a pricey snack before going to dinner. Simple gathering. Ordered a carpaccio appetizer. It was prepared with arugula olive oil and lemon wedges on the side. I asked for balsamic vinegar and was told by the waitress the restaurant policy was to not offer balsamic at the table. I asked again and they said I could speak with the manager. I handed the manager the plate and asked them to dress the carpaccio with balsamic vinegar. I was told the chef would not modify the preparation because the vinegar was too acidic. I guess the lemon wedges are not acidic and the chef dictates how a dish should be enjoyed. Lasagna bolognese oddly prepared without tomato sauce. Small portion of sea bass was $30 and a little over cooked. One glass of ice provided upon request for a table of three. Nice atmosphere, mediocre service. Italian restaurants usually want patrons to celebrate their cuisine. Nothing to celebrate about Terroni. Avoid.

Nice location for a drink before dinner

We visited this place on a Wednesday night, which is the Happy hour buffet night... appetizers were very good, personnel was nice and friendly and the location is very cute. Totally recommended.

Great north Italian food everything is made fresh. I had the margarita pizza and it was delicious as well as the spaghetti it has been one of the best I have ever had. I really recommend this place but I heard the one in downtown la has more variety.

Good for dates, friends and large parties

By Ask2416 |

Consistent good service and creative menu keeps us coming back. Charcuterie good qty of meats easy to share with 4-6 people Grilled calamari fresh with nice salad dressing Grilled steak excellent to share with 2-4 people. Arugula salad/ tomatoes and parmigiana very good. Steak is rich and flavored perfectly. Make sure you are ok with rare as this is how it is typically served Linguini vongole only bad dish. Broken shells everywhere and no flavor. Don’t recommend Pizza with sausage better by far then mozza and ranks high among all L A pizza Wine list is decent and somm is very helpful so you are sure to find some good wines to enjoy Highly recommended!

Delicious

By MaryM452013 |

We were driving by on a recent trip I took to the west coast, and my daughter suggested we stop and eat at this place as she had eaten here before when she worked in the area. She suggested we try one of her favorites, burrata with artichoke and prosciutto with which turned out to be absolutely delicious. We also shared the lemon pasta dish, which was equally as good. Being from out of town, the prices seemed high to me, but I think are average for the area. The bread was good, cold, but typical Italian texture at least. Plain olive oil was offered for dipping. Service was fair, the place was very uncrowded, but our waitress was more interested in talking with a guy at a table far from ours. Parking is on the street or valet with a fee, which is usual for the area.

Neighborhood Find

On a recent visit to LA , my Daughter took me to her favorite neighborhood restaurant ; Terroni ..The food was excellent and so were the cocktails . We had their special zucchini flowers that were amazing for an appetizer, the Arugola salad , ravioli with brown butter sauce and a pizza ...all great along with a fantastic Server who made a good experience and excellent one . Highly recommend this restaurant

Very good Italian food amidst lots of noise

By JimSeth |

Excellent, authentic Italian pizza and pasta dishes. Their fried calimari is fantastic: light and crispy with the right amount of bite to the squid. The service is generally very good. Decor is casually hip and the crowd tends towards twenty- and thirty-somethings; I've seen quite a few dates going on here. My one complaint is that like many newer restaurants in LA, there is nothing in the place to absorb noise, so the noise level can be unpleasant. All in all, however, a solid choice for very good Italian food at a fair price.

Very nice!

Dined here as a result of a local recommendation for dinner. Excellent salads and entrees. Well seasoned and cooked. Service was better than average. Nice vibe as well. Worth it!

Excellent food, lively atmosphere

The Bucatini all'Amatriciana was outstanding, the best Amatriciana I have ever eaten. The overall meal was good, with very good Calamari, wine, and service, but the Amatriciana is what set this restaurant apart.

Good enough

By cocokiera |

The menu was good and the food was tasty. Ambience is less than special. Dark but not in a romantic way, open kitchen and take-out counter loom large. Don't order champagne, as they serve it in wine glasses, and the effervescence goes right up your nose and chokes you. It made me realize why champagne glasses are designed the way they are!

Great great great

By Melissa W |

Hadn't been in here years. Why? I can't say, but glad I went back recently. This place has a great atmosphere - lively, fun, not stuck up like some other restaurants in the area cough cough. Food is delicious, pasta is homemade, service is great, aperol spritz's (my current obsession) are tasty and they take ressies so I can't think of anything negative to say.

Amazing Food and Wine

By Kathy R |

Not only was the food great, but the presence of a Sommelier took the dining experience to a new level for me. She was attentive and educated us on the variety of nebbiolo wines providing us with a tasting to experience what was enjoyable on its own and then paired well with foods. I always go for the pasta if homemade and my daughter had octopus. Dessert was a ricotta cake, that was delicious. Portions were the perfect size for me.

Women at the bar spot on.

By Denise G |

An Italian girl that lives in England. I’m Visiting California for my holiday and couldn’t ignore this beautiful restaurant here in Los Angeles. Was waiting for a table that, thanks God, never showed up so I’ve been eating at the counter bar and been served by two lovely women that just made my night. Shame I didn’t ask for their names. Food was perfect from the starter to the dessert that have been gently offered by my two servers. I hope you girls are going to read this review as I just want to thank you so so much for making my first night in LA so special!!! You both really deserve 10 stars, if only!!! Thank you!!!

Italian food at its finest

By petethepipe |

Cannot fault the excellent good food, wine and service A throughly enjoyable experience I will certainly visit again and again

Great vibe. Great food.

By maxtout |

Fun bar with quality Italian wine list. Bartender will let you try some options before selecting a bottle. Menu is diverse, but not complicated. Pastas are great and the fish specials are usually worthwhile. East to walk in if you're patient.

Pasta made by angles!

By Meapale |

This was one of the best experiences i had with an Italian restaurant in LA. My dish was made with care and tenderness that i had only ever seen in the most experienced Italian chefs or in Italy itself. Ambiance is lively and kind of loud, but not disruptive. Staff are attentive, talkative and nice. I highly recommend this place to anyone passing through LA.

Don't come here if you want cheese on your pasta.

By Emb825 |

My husband and another couple friend of ours went to dinner last night at Terroni on Beverly to celebrate a special occasion. Their menu is slightly limited, mostly pizza and pasta items but enough things to choose from. My husband and I shared the caprese salad, I ordered the pasta special which was noodles with crab meat and a tomato sauce and my husband ordered the beef ravioli with cream sauce. When the runner brought out the caprese it had no oil or balsamic vinegar on it so I had has for a side of balsamic. The runner stated that the restaurant does not have any balsamic (whether that meant that they did not have any to provide for customers or that they literally did not have any period I was not told). The caprese was ok, we poured some of the olive oil from the table that was provided with the bread and that gave it some more flavor. The table also does not have salt of pepper and the restaurant does not provide that to costumers as well. Our main dishes arrived and I asked the runner for some cheese from my pasta. He left the table and the waitress arrived and stated that customers are not allowed to have cheese with any "fish" pasta dishes and there was nothing she could do about that policy (mind you, there is no visible statement on the menu that says you cannot have cheese with any "fish" pasta dish you order). One of our friends then asked for a side of cheese and the waitress proceeded to laugh at him, say no, and walked away. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service provided by the waitress and the restaurant. If you are going to have a restaurant policy such as this it should be the obligation of the restaurant to tell the customer when they order the dish that they cannot have cheese with it, and also, maybe, put it in the menu next to the dishes with "fish" in them. The waitress never came back to ask how the food was, mind you my dish was not very tasty and I took about three bites of it. I would have also expected that the waitress would have asked if I liked the item, and that if I did not since I would not be able to have cheese with my "fish", to then offer me another selection that could have cheese with it. Needless to say all four of us were not very pleased with the service or this hidden policy. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, I did not want to escalate the issue so I decided to contact the manager today (the next day) about our experience. I spoke with one of the managers, Drew, and explained to him what happened. His response was that since "too much time had passed" between last night and today (that is less than 24 hours but apparently that is TOO much time), there really wasn't anything he could do about it, that he has full trust in his wait staff and that if I wanted to come back again the try their food another night, he would be happy to assist me with that. While Drew did acknowledge that the "fish" policy was not on the menu but only listed next to one dish, a dish I did not order, and that many other customers have voiced complaints with this policy, there really wasn't much he was going to do about it. I cannot imagine working in a customer service oriented industry and not doing your best to assist your customers when they have a complaint or issue but I guess Terroni does SO well, (3.5 stars on Yelp) that they don't care if they lose customers or have happy customers. This was the first and last time at this restaurant.

Good food

By L3Nola |

My family had dinner here while visiting L.A., and we really enjoyed it. The food was good and the atmosphere was hip and fun. They had a nice wine selection to complement the food. I would go back.

Why is this food so good?????

By Slavik84 |

We decided to go into LA for dinner and wanted Italian. Since I'm from Toronto, the name Terroni struck me as familiar and I made reservations. This entire meal was so good!! First of all, the bread bites were to die for. Delicious. Then I ordered the pasta special with truffle and other deliciousness. And then we capped it off with the gluten free dessert. Which again, which amazing. Loved it, would go back!!

Great pastas

By Vince P |

We go to Terroni in Toronto all the time and we love it. The food was consistent here in LA as well, only that the prices are a bit on the high side. Especially when you are with kids LOL.

Perfect California-style pizza..

By Finecigarsandcoins |

On a recent trip to Los Angeles, we made our way to Terroni for dinner on a busy Saturday night - the wait for a table at this bustling Italian restaurant was fairly short (about 15 mins) but would have been worth it even if we had to wait for a half hour! The menu is comprised mainly of pasta and pizza dishes (as you'd expect from an Italian restaurant) and all looked amazing. Pricing ranges from approximately $12-20 for a dish, but my recommendation is the pizza.. I had the Quattro Staggione which was perfect. A glass of wine will cost you around $12 and $6 for a beer. The restaurant is busy which means it's very loud.. The service is attentive, even if they sometimes seem a little overwhelmed.. Highly recommended!

This was a terrible experience in what you can't have as a customer and what they won't do for you as a restaurant...

By lsmerriman |

This was a terrible experience in what you can't have as a customer and what they won't do for you as a restaurant. Medicore Italian food, horrible, horrible service and attitude from the owners. I truly do not understand their popularity, try Angelina Osteria up the street for great Italian or even Maggiano's at the Grove nearby for at least friendly service.

Italian atmosphere in L. A.

By Miki_10 |

A good restaurant and a better atmosphere. There are two areas one the bar to drink typical italian wines and beverages and the other one to eat. Many times there are italian movies in the big screen that there is in the restaurant. The food is ok with fresh ingredients but is limited for the price. It´s a good choice to spend a good evening.

Excellent all around

By MikeV101 |

We ate at Terroni while stopping over in LA. Everything about this place was cool. The staff and their knowledge of wines, the service, the food and the vibe was excellent. Portions are not huge, but large enough to leave you satisifed, and room for some great desserts. The chocolate tort was fabulous. It can be a little loud, but the six of us easily conversed....very relaxed atmosphere, yet stylish. I would definately return.

A gem in downtown LA

By CTHeather |

My husband and i stumbled upon Terroni during a short stay in downtown LA. It was by far, the nicest restaurant in the surrounding area. The space is a large, converted bank. We sat at the bar and enjoyed excellent service from our bartender, Herve. We snacked on bread which was accompanied by olive oil and a delicious spicy tapenade - not for the weak-tongued. For dinner, we shared the Giuggiolosa salad. It was very tasty, the honey flavor was apparent in the dressing, but it was a nice accompaniment to the salty olives and cheese. For our main course, we ordered the pasta special. I don't recall the name, but it was served with ample truffles - so many it almost overpowered the dish. However, the pasta was excellent and tasted homemade. The wine list was impressive, so much that we ended up having two carafes! We wrote down the names of the wines as they were that good. If you are staying in the downtown LA area, I would definitely recommend making a stop here. They have happy hour every day and serve brunch on weekend.

Superb dinner !!

By HLSESS |

My daughter and I met a friends daughter here last night. Seated right around 7 - reservation at 6:45. Bread was terrific. Wine and cocktails very good. Food was amazing I ordered pasta with tuna tartare. Excellent service. $180 for 3 includes tip!!

Excellent Pasta

By rehamilt |

Good Italian food (excellent, homemade pasta); old Italian movies shown on wall. Good atmosphere but loud.

As if they are the only ones who can make pasta and pizzas...

By Henri C |

Uncomfortable seating, unfriendly service and to top it all off, the manager instead of being somewhat apologetic, arrogantly explained that it was the way it is!! What happened to Italian hospitality?? Food ok. Nothing rare as far as pizza and pasta go.

Don't expect quality customer service

By njr234 |

This place is in an old bank, a historic building and it's quite beautiful. The food was not bad, but a little pricey. We were a group of ten and the reservation was made on their website. I got an email from them, confirming they got my request and would call to confirm our reservation. I called them back three times over the next two days, and left messages asking for confirmation and no one called me back. Finally, I got a real-live person 24 hours before our reservation who told me we were confirmed. You can guess the end of this story...no reservation when we arrived. They did accommodate us. As the person who was responsible for organizing this event, I was embarrassed for the group to hear we didn't have a reservation. First of all, answer your phone people!! Return your messages!!! You're in the business to provide customer service. You scored an F.

Great Italian food

By Rusty H |

The food was great and the portions perfect without feeling stuffed after the first course. The staff was great. Great ambiance. A little noisy but we still managed to interact and talk. I didn’t care for the booths of 6 people. I felt that the person at the end of your row was mostly left out of me being able to interact with unless we were bombarding the person between us. Otherwise, great experience, great food and service.

Not impressed!

By turtlegal0624 |

This place is pretentious, without justification. Claiming to be "authentic Italian" they do not serve balsamic vinegar- or even ALLOW customers to have it upon request. They don't serve Parmesan on fish - and a few other "we don't do THAT because it's not AUTHENTIC!" quirks. Most of the people working at this place have probably never been to Italy and have NO idea what "Authentic Italian" is! Well, I HAVE been to Italy - lived there for several years, in fact, and their pretentiousness is just ridiculous! REAL Italian restaurants - in Italy - would NEVER refuse to serve balsamic to a customer. And, REAL Italian restaurants would serve Parmesan to anyone who asked, for any reason! All this from a place that can't even cook a proper ragu!

Italian kitchen? In another life...

By Alessandro Veccia |

Showing a name which reminds an offensive appellation for people coming from south of Italy doesen't make your place an italian restourant. Linguine alle vongole and pizza that are not worthy of the worst italian restourant. The waiter assured me that the property was from Puglia, my land, but all dishes we ordered had nothing of the italian culinary art. The only positive thing? The staff: kind and professional.

Meh

By Resnyc |

Elaborate but forgettable salad + southern-Italian pasta dish (with no meat) + glass of rosé + tax & tip = $54 That this price range is considered inexpensive, for this unremarkable quality, is a bad sign in the ratings game. There was nothing wrong with my meal, but for $50+ I expect something memorable, which this was not, unequivocally.

Loud but worth a try

By darylmarx |

They accept reservations and have valet parking. This is a local restaurant that makes it's own fresh pasta daily. The servings don't look large, but they fill you up. The service was good but the acoustics were not. Very loud.

Busy for a reason.

By Funati |

During an annual trip trip to Los Angeles we decided to go to Terroni's. Each time we drive by its always busy so they must be doing something right and no doubt they are. The service was great and the food was better. Each of our pasta dishes sampled were excellent and the Tagliatelle with authentic meat sauce was terrific. The calamari was excellent although the beet and arugula salad was a little bit of a let down. It is very loud so be prepared but it's a great experience and excellent for people watching.

Amazing pizza but...

By LifeWellLived |

Service was inattentive, our waitress barely went through the motions and had the least genuine smile I have seen in a while. The star of the menu was the white Gorgonzola and pear pizza with a crust you just cannot stop eating. Pastas were a let down as well as appetizers. We were strongly recommended the Nutella donuts and hazelnut gelato and the donuts were stale. Dessert donuts are popping up on many menus as of late and I struggle to find good execution. I would go back just for the pizza! To go maybe...

Very Poor Customer Service

By Wicked8146 |

My fiance and I tried to book their private room for a private party. We informed the events coordinator of the date we wanted; 12/10. She said that was great and she invited us to come in and see the private event room. We went in and checked it out. It looked good. We again confirmed the date with her; 12/10. No problem. A few days later she calls us up and tells us that the owner has usurped all of the Saturday dates in December for their own personal events. This was not only annoying, since we had begun to inform our guests of the date of our event, but also a pretty poor way of doing business. We then contacted the coordinator and plead our case. She said she'll talk to the owner. She came back a few days later and again said 12/10 is not a problem and she will send the credit card authorization form. Well, she never did and a few days later she calls us to inform us once again that the owner has taken back 12/10, and all Fridays and Saturdays in December. Wow. We were dumbfounded that they could inform us this date was available multiple times and then just snatch it away again like Lucy with the football for Charlie Brown. We then asked to speak with the owner, who called us and was INCREDIBLY rude and could not comprehend why we were upset. She said (paraphrase) "I can see why you have been so hard to deal with." Basically, she was unapologetic and blaming us for their incompetence. In summary, DON'T EVER try to book a private event at Terronis. The staff is unhelpful, inconsiderate and they will screw you on the date they allegedly promise you they have available.

Favorite neighborhood spot!

I think this place is great for quick dinner. If your someone who likes to modify your meals, this is not the place for you.

Delish in my hood!

By E9N20 |

First, I cannot believe we have not eaten here before. This restaurant has been here for quite some time. Sometimes it's these little gems you miss. Well.. no more. I cannot wait to return to try more of there dishes. The pizza was good, the calamari was prepared perfectly. When it arrived at the table the scent of the sea enveloped us. The bread was warm and tasty. The Barbabietole & Ricchia..delish... My Linguine alle Vongole e Bottarga..dbl delish... Love me some Bottarga when prepared with love. The Tagliatelle al Ragu was very special. All in all, a great night out with friends. Great conversation, food and atmosphere. There will be a repeat. So if your in the neighborhood, stop in and enjoy, we most certainly did.

Fun, hip atmosphere with great Italian dishes

By Farsh A |

The food here is great as are the wines and beer selection. The design and decor are very hip and fun, replete with old Italian movies projected on one of the walls. It's loud and lively and a fun dinner choice for a night out. The one drawback is they don't take reservations so you may have to wait a rather long time for a table. They have a bar area, but the stools are usually all occupied so you can have a drink standing while you wait for a table.

Loud, not authentic Italian and expensive but great wine list

By rdelacre |

Another restaurant claiming to be authentic Italian and another lie. The place is trendy and very loud so how can it be Italian? Impossible. It's not because there are old-fashioned Italian movies on big screens that one can say this is Italy... And in this restaurant, you better speak loud for your friends to be able to hear your voice. While the service was friendly, the first antipasti we had was clearly not real Italian (for me, Italian prosciutto and salami must be imported from Italy otherwise it's not Itallian, basta!). Then we tried different kinds of pasta: not bad but not good either. The only good point comes from the wine list: easy to find a good wine with such an extensive wine selection. The downside of it is the expensive price! I did not try the pizza but sitting next to the kitchen watching a Mexican cook trying to make pizzas with average ingredients in an electric oven (not a wood-fired), I did not really feel it. If you are the owner or the chef, please order a book about la cucina italiana (in Italian) from Amazon, it can help.

Great italian food

The pizza, the service, and the location; its just perfect. I go there once a week to feel at home as an italian. Kudos to the chef and especially to the servers . Great italian food

Great!!

What a fantastic meal in a fun and energetic room. The menu is ample and varied. Service was professional yet casual. Our meals were full of great flavour and good portions. Nice wine list and a great crowd! Definitely recommend.

Good italian in west Hollywood

By Ayité A |

This is a good place in west Hollywood to eat pasta and pizza in west Hollywood. The tagliatelle al ragu was very good, you really feel the taste of the ragu and the meat. The ragu sauce it's a bit dry, so if you want more liquide sauce make another choice. We took also a pizza. For me to many choice. A shorter list of pizza will be better to create more variety in the recipe. Some pizza looks very similar for me. However my pizza vas very good and simple. The spicy oil was very original, i let you discover by your own. The only drawback was the wine, so expensive OMG... It's maybe because we are french but we are not use to 10$ by glass.

Lunch was terrific

By Rosie L |

Taken here for a quick lunch and the food was great. It seemed a little loud but service was good and for LA prices were acceptable.

Nothing authentic about this place at all

By Daniel.S |

I am amazed at the reviews on here and how some wax lyrical about just how 'authentic' the 'Italian' food is at Terroni. What exactly is authentic? Enlighten me please. I wonder if any of the reviewers have actually been to Italy before? If they had then they wouldn't be commenting the way they do. Having been to Italy many, many times over the years and living in London for the most part where we really do have authentic Italian restaurants serving authentic Italian food I think it would be fair to suggest I am well placed to write a considered and factual review. This restaurant has to be one of the worst I have had the misfortune to visit. From the attitude and inflexibility of the staff to the menu which can at best be described as (wishfully) Italian 'style'. There seems to be a sense that they feel they are doing you a favour and you should be grateful to be dining in their restaurant. In a word - arrogance. Having not shown any willingness to change a simple pasta request for the children in our group to the icing on the cake being the expectation of a tip. Were they that disillusioned to think we would acquiesce? Well my tip is they need to reassess their attitude and then stop trying to convince the less initiated that they serve authentic Italian food when they don't. I stress, this is my opinion and of those in the group who dined there a few months ago. The reason I am writing now is that I have only recently started reviewing on here and am working my way through a back log of reviews. Los Angeles has many fantastic restaurants and my reviews will reflect that. More from me on Twitter @busy_dan

Cool place with great pasta

By Joachim S |

We really enjoyed our lunch at Terroni. The tortellini with white truffles were amazing, the bucatini amatricana too, lasagne unfortunately was mushy. The wine list was great and I will definitely be back for the pasta and the pickled red peppers, and if I ever have a party in LA, that private room is gorgeous. Did I mention the decor, really cool.

Loud, loud, loud and scene-y....but the food and wine are great

By GeorgicaPond |

Incredibly loud and very young Hollywood scene-y, but the food and wines are very good. Dinner and late night are always a scene, but lunch is very quiet. Excellent menu with some unusual dishes. Superb wines by the glass and a staff that is knowledgable about them. Cozy, convivial atmosphere. Fun if you can take the decibels. Try lunch if you can't.

A good Italian

A good surprise

By AlbertoSevero |

My family and I were visiting LA for a few days from France. Despite some recent bad reviews, we decided to give a chance to this Italian place (I am Italian) and it was a good surprise. Nice people, nice place, and nice pizzas. I particularly appreciated the pizza Ciccio, a sort of calzone/piadina with very fresh ham (parma ham), arugula, and mozzarella.

Ok but..

By RealBusinessReview |

This place is ok nothing really special the pizza is not brick oven and is far from being authentic napoli style but tried the octopus grilled and was really nice. Nice dessert selection!!

Great pasta...outstanding pizzas

By James M |

Authentic pasta recipes made with excellent ingredients...too many to list. Pizza is perfectly baked thin crust with wide variety of toppings...my choice had roasted red peppers, spicy Sicilian salami and mozzarella...awesome. Friendly, lively atmosphere...very busy. The Italian donuts with Nutella ice cream are great.

One picture says a thousand words.

I guess the food is so good that people are eating plates too 🤣. Attention to such details is a crucial part for a dining experience.

Do NOT eat here! Terrible service and mediocre food!

By Shae |

I came here today and ordered a margarita pizza and my friend ordered pasta. Upon arriving the service was very mediocre, no pleasantries the server just took my order and immediately requested the menu back (no problem) After the order was placed she said "By the way we can not give you any parmesan to go with the pasta or the pizza" after we asked her multiple times WHY NOT? she said it would mess up the flavors and that per owners request she can not make any exceptions. Its the audacity for me, i'm spending my hard earned money in this over priced establishment and you're telling me I can't have a little extra CHEESE with my meal? Laughable to say the least. We cancelled our order and left! The fact that i'm reading multiple reviews saying the same thing is ridiculous! Change your policy or close down! You are in the service business!!!

Expected more

By jd0827 |

We had a 9:30pm reservation on a Sunday, they don't close till 10:30pm yet it felt like they were closing at 9:45pm- food was not great, service did not exist, we are a salad that was basically arugula and mushrooms- no flavor, server never even came to check on us so we couldn't tell her that we weren't turtles..... Main course came, whatever, nothing out of this world, again server never came to check on us. Truth be told, I am writing this review while we wait for our check..... Wish me luck because no idea where I can find my server. There are way better Italian restaurants in LA.

Great Italian restaurant

By Leslie B |

We have been to Terroni twice and enjoyed it and enjoyed our meals both visits. Very traditional Italian food is on the menu. For brunch i was served thinly sliced prosuitto and braceola on a bit of arugula with walnuts and 4 cheeses served on a large cutting board. It looked like a huge amount of food but it was just enough for brunch. The bread is freshly made and crusty. The house red wine was really good and reasonably priced at $24/carafe. And 3 of us shared the tiramisu! So creamy and delicious, not quite a traditional tiramisu but so good. Service was attentive and responsive.

perfetto!

The food, service and wine list is outstanding. We plan a visit evey time we're in town.

quality food and pleasant service

By ad s |

Group of 4 people, used to eat out, two glasses of Valpolicella, two Greco di Tufo. One pizza arrabbiata to share, two funghi assoluti, two fiori di zucchini, two bucatini amatriciana and two rigatoni arcobaleno. we enjoyed very much an d will come again

Simply tintilating

By CDNMcGillicutty |

My sister who is a film industry exec producer highly recommended this and boy did it deliver! Our fam of 5 shared the carpaccio, stuffed zucchini flowers, duck prosciutto, burratta which were all exquisite! We shared 3 pizzas and two pastas. The Vongole was to die for and the pasta obviously made fresh and cooked superbly. The Norcina pizza was delightful but unfortunate is only available in the brunch menu, too bad.

Solid

Solid place - they know what they’re doing, they do it well, and you get a sense that they’ll keep on keeping at it. Try the mushroom salad dish.

Mediocre food heaps of attitude ( don’t eat here! )*

By Jeffrey A |

If you want to be insulted be sure to eat at this establishment ( on Beverly Blvd) run by an angry dismissive manager. Order wine by a mumbling inexperienced wine steward that doesn’t deserve title of sommelier and food runners that ignore requests and give you shade. Before the pandemic we are here at least three times and we remember the delicious food. What we ate before, was so good we forgot what kept us away. And tonight we were reminded about the hostile environment created by staff and management. After this world pandemic you think people would be friendly and helpful and be grateful people would be returning to your restaurant, however this is not how they think. We inquired about vegetarian food and vegan options but we were not offered a vegan menu that they advertise. I asked the wine steward about a suggestion of a rich full bodied deep complex red wine. He said we have one… the Montepulciano on the menu. That’s it? That is medium-bodied red wine of central Italy. And upon tasting I said, it’s medium and very light. That’s what we have. He said….By his face I guess he didn’t like it either or he didn’t like his job. Or both I guess I said ok white? He brought two to taste. We couldn’t understand what he was saying or what he was suggesting. and when asked to repeat what the wines were…he shoved a bottle of wine in my face to read the label. In a dark dimly lit restaurant with a wine bottle shoved in my face I pointed to a glass and said this one please. —He filled the glass and walked away. We should have left before the pizza because this is as good as it gets and it was about to be worse. We ordered 2 pizzas both bland and we thought maybe we could add some red pepper, salt, olive oil, pepper or cheese. The food runner actually said no to the list and dropped off a tablespoon of olive oil. We asked out waiter he said the restaurant policy is no cheese. How can an Italian restaurant not offer cheese, any Italian recipe for pizza or pasta calls for a generous helping of cheese. The manager came over with a scowling face highlighted by a grimace and said I’m the manager. I inquired that we wanted to add cheese to our (boring) pizza. He said it compromises the flavor of our food so we will not bring you cheese. Yes but you bring salt pepper and olive oil why no cheese? He said I’m not going to repeat myself and left the table. We were shocked at how dismissive he was. The sweet waiter tried to apologize but it was too late. We cancelled the rest of the meal and left the noisy hellhole of a restaurant. Don’t eat here. Just don’t. It’s no fun it’s very loud and the management is just plain mean. No food is worth this much trouble.

Favorite Restaurant in Los Angeles

By Zoë A |

I have been going to Terroni for 6 years and over time it just gets better and better. Back in the day, it was a little stuck up and you needed to get passed that to taste the incredible food but now, the service is just as good as the food coming out, if not better. Yes, it can get very loud and if you are not used to waiting in line or eating at 10pm when a table opens up, you'd better make a reservation but the atmosphere is part of the charm. The Bistecca di Manzo is by far my favorite dish, but the Capunti pasta is a close second. If you are looking for wine recommendations, ask to speak to the sommelier - they know what they are talking about and are always willing to let you have a taste before you make your decision. My husband and I have come here for every major event in our lives (Engagement, elopement, first time our families met, birthdays, new jobs etc). Cannot recommend it enough :)

Perhaps the chef should get a life -- lighten up on the attitude!

By jkaHD |

The chef takes himself way too seriously. We wanted to share two pastas and have tea with lunch. I'm allergic to garlic. The waitress informed me that the chef could not change any element of his recipe -- it would ruin the dish. Too bad, garlic ruins my stomach! And she informed me that tea was ruined by lemon. That's ok -- she didn't have to drink it!!!!! Basically, you'd think you were in a French restaurant in Paris before the Ministry of Tourism ordered the French restaurants and others with contact with tourists to change their attitude because France was losing so much business. Likewise, Terroni lost ours.

Vero Italiano

By KathrynandTim |

The classic old bank interior transformed into a sleek restaurant makes for a marvelous dining atmosphere. Equally impressive is Terroni's attempt to be authentically Italian, emphasized by the fact that they had Fellini's La Strada being projected on one of the walls. Yes, it's noisy, but not nearly as bad nearby competitor Bottega Louis. We had appetizers and house made pastas which combined well with our wine from their regionally eclectic list of vini italiani. The perfectly al dente Sicilian spaghetti I enjoyed is an item rarelly seen on Italian-American restaurant menus, and yes, just like I had in Siracusa and Noto Sicily. Service couldn't have been better--all in all, recommended.

First time visit for our Saturday Dinner Date Night

By 264kenf |

What a treat! This Restaurant was recommended by colleagues at the office and did not disappoint. There are 2 locations and we went to the one closest to The Grove. It is an informal vibe, almost a Trattoria type with a flair. A bar with seating, booths and tables along with larger community tables are available. There is a large TV screen on the wall that shows vintage movies. The staff in very knowledgeable and made the appropriate recommendations. They are adamant about not changing the food and how it's prepared and served as everything is made fresh on premises. The bread is delicious and the Pizza choices are astounding. Wine choices by the glass or bottle are plentiful. The prices are moderate for the quality you get and thoroughly worth it. We recommend the Pastas, Duck prosciutto and Lamb Chops. The Ice Cream shouts out taste. We are hooked and will return!

Wonderful Meal

Great selection -- homemade pasta is fantastic. Good wine choices. Very helpful staff - service was wonderful. Our group shared four deserts, the lemon tart is 'out of this world'!

Great Wait Staff & Food

By 772patrick |

We went there during happy hour. The drinks and food were absolutely great, even the happy hour menu items! The prices were reasonable, considering you are in Los Angeles. And, the wait staff...?! They were just the best, attentive, suggestive as to what to order, and checking in at the appropriate time to see if there were any needs. I could not have asked for more.

Best Italian restaurant in LA

I hate the best pasta and pizza. True italian ingredients.

Disspointed after 17 years!

By Kolsass |

We have frequently been dining at every Terroni location in Canada and California since 2006 and we are happy to say that Terroni has been one of our favourite dining establishments. In the interests of providing transparent feedback we are providing these comments related to our dining experience on May 29th at the Beverly Boulevard location in LA. Unlike all of our previous experiences the service was inattentive despite the fact that the restaurant was less than 50% occupied on this occasion. All of the food while acceptable was not up to the standards we have experienced from Terroni over the years. Finally, to be confronted with a 4% "dine in charge" automatically added to the bill seemed unreasonable.
