I had spotted Texan Sizzle on Trip Advisor before we left for San Antonio and since it was only 3 blocks from the Menger Hotel where we were staying, we easily walked up for breakfast. It has a small menu but with some fantastic food. My Texas toast bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was fantastic, and it had me thinking if I had another day in San Antonio, I would come back again. My wife and I both loved our food and the fact the place was spotlessly clean. When I made a passing comment to the cashier about how clean the bathroom was, out popped Leonard, the cook/owner proudly agreeing and showing me his 100% rating from the health department. After a short conversation about where we were from and that we loved staying at the historic Menger Hotel, he says have you been across the street to the St. Anthony? When we said no, he proceeded leave his kitchen to take us across the street and give us a little tour of the lobby level and also some great stories of some of his famous customers over the years who had stayed at the St. Anthony. What an unexpected treat and genuine kindness. If you are looking for some great food and reasonable prices, don't walk past this little gem, do yourself a favor and go in and eat. One unique offering I wish I had tried was his Peanut butter bacon burger with cheese and the recommended jelly on top.

We had one of the most delicious breakfast sandwiches I have ever ate! This is a gem of a restaurant. Clean! Great customer service! 10/10 recommend.

They have awesome food that's full of flavor, and you get your money's worth. I purchased a taco and was told it was $6.50. When I got it, I realized why it was priced the way it was. The menu is definitely for people who enjoy flavor. And they also make it any any way you want it... and with the ingredients they have, you'll be heaven sent!

We decided to walk a few blocks away from the San Antonio River Walk because all the directly adjacent restaurants were too crowded. A few blocks away we saw a valet and asked for the best place to eat. Without hesitation he said “you’ve got to try Texan Sizzle!” He then directed us around the block. The restaurant is small with maybe 5 tables. It’s certainly nothing for atmosphere, but in my experience, some of the best food can be found in unconventional settings. My wife and I each ordered Fajita Tacos, one beef and one chicken. They were served a few minutes later and OMG, we’re they perfectly prepared! Both the beef and the chicken fillings were plentiful and seasoned to perfection. This place must be new as TA didn’t have them listed yet. Go give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

We went in on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised, small place, but had good fast food. Food was very reasonably and great. Highly recommended!

Nice little gem so close to our hotel. Breakfast tacos were awesome. Owner and staff very nice. They called it a taco but was large enough to roll as burrito. They also serve lunch items that sounded wonderful.

The food was great. The waitress helped us decide what to get since it was our first time. The service was quick. One breakfast taco for each person and we shared the hashbrowns. Very good

Called in here for breakfast while staying in San Antonio, we both got breakfast Tacos with the Hash Brown- the food was absolutely delicious an we would 100% recommend. The staff were super friendly welcoming and helpful such a lovely place to call in for breakfast. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

Great sandwich. Great spot for breakfast and lunch with tasty food and large portions. Limited place to sit if you’re a group of more than 2.

We came here on our first full day in San Antonio and we’re glad to find this small spot with good food. Need to open a location in Brooklyn!

Good food at economical prices. A small, plain “diner” type establishment. Large portions. “No frills” service was pleasant.

This place was small but food was so good. There was a bit of a wait, but it was completely worth it. I had the Texas Patty Melt with avocado, it was delicious. My husband had the fajita quesadilla and it was darn good too. We split our meals so we could each try the others and can honestly say this was the best place we ate at while visiting San Antonio.

We were in town for the weekend from N.Texas. I knew that SA was known for their breakfast tacos and found two favorites in the downtown area. Yelp helped us pick the two best choices from their reviews. So we came by just before 10am on a Sunday and found the owner waiting for his help to arrive. Poor guy was at the mercy of this generation that shows up when they want. He asked us to come back in a few minutes, so we ventured around the corner and stopped by a local coffee shop. Sure enough, he was open around 10 when we walked back by. It’s a small dining room with only a few tables but already it was almost full. We ordered our tacos and got one of the last tables. You can’t beat the price. We got four tacos and a side of hash browns for just over $20. That was amazing alone. The cashier brought them out about 10 minutes later and they looked AMAZING 🤩! We also realized these are huge breakfast tacos and we could have ordered just one each. Well they didn’t disappoint. The tortillas were so good and fresh. My first bite was the sausage and egg. OMG 😱 it was good! He even seasoned it well. Hot and tasty! Then my bacon and egg was even better. Loved that he uses thick cut bacon and it was crispy! You hit these tacos out of the park! The customer service deserves a 6th ⭐️ though. He came out of the kitchen and thanked us for coming back like we said we would. If we come back to SA, this will be our place for breakfast tacos!

Staff was friendly. The portions were large and the food was yummy. So glad we found this place! We will definitely come back the next time we are in San Antonio.
