Overall this is a good place to eat. The service is spotty, sometimes it is very slow and other times it is spot on. I feel the spice level changes by cook. I have not had a dish that I would send back or not order again. I like their curry for lunch and I usually get the satay chicken and rolls for dinner.

I have been to Thai Bistro 4-5 times - always at lunch. I first tried it because someone said that the Panang Chicken Curry was excellent - and I must agree. The lunch plate is accompanied by a nice small bowl of soup, and - including tip - you'll get out for under $10! (This assumes water to drink.) If you like your dishes hot, ask your server for "Thai hot", not just spicy. It's OK; it will still be edible.

Simple but very good Thai food. I mainly go to the I-59 location although have also been at the Westheimer location. The Green Curry is excellent and they always agree to make me a shrimp version which is not on the menu. Be careful about anything hotter than medium or you may get a fright. Worth a visit. Nice staff although not very talkative.

The food was excellent, service was very good too. We had plenty of vegetarian options, including soups, to choose from. Would go again if I was in the neighborhood.

Every Thai restaurant does Pad Thai, but the key is twofold: the noodles and the tamarind sauce. Thai Bistro gets both right. Waitress missed a few things on the table order despite repeating them back to us, but otherwise service was good, and price is great. VERY clean, sharp restaurant with great windows. Definitely worth repeat trip.

Having lived in Southeast Asia for 10 years, I developed a fondness for Thai cuisine. Thai Bistro is one of the better places i've tried in the Houston area. The food is always good, the flavors are authentic Thai, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable.

Everything tastes good not the greatest Thai but very good. The service was outstanding. I asked for hot but it came out more low to medium heat.

Nestled in a strip center across from the Lakewood Church, Thai Bistro has the feel of a more upscale restaurant than the prices on its menu might suggest. I am a regular here - this is our go-to Thai restaurant. I have hosted a monthly business meeting here on a regular basis for the past six years, and no one has even thought about changing the venue. Not only that, my family looks forward to the take-out I bring home later! The menu is filled with many traditional Thai dishes, but they also have interesting specials, like soft-shell crabs, tamarind fish (a regular on the lunch menu) and many others. While the food is delicious, the wait-staff's attentive service really stands out. The lunch specials are a real bargain - soup, salad and an entree, with most priced at just $8. The grilled tamarind fish is my favorite of the 17 lunch choices.

We had been traveling over a long day, were really hungry, and this place looked nice and smelled wonderful. We split the fish cakes, had good soup, and enjoyed our entrees. I ordered Pad Thai. It's my go-to comfort dish. While it was good, my mother's food was better! She ordered a noodle dish (was it blazing noodles??) with seasonal veggies. Now, I am usually suspicious when restaurants say that and tend to stay away from those dishes because the veggies are frequently sad. These were great, and I was jealous of her dish. The green veggies were vibrant, all the veggies were cooked well, and it wasn't the same ones you find everywhere. I would definitely go back.

I love the curry at Thai Bistro. Don't go if you're really hungry because the service isn't that fast. However, if you have time, you'll enjoy it. I can't eat spicy food and my daughter could probably chug hot sauce. They cater to your "1 to 10" spiciness requests well and we're both always happy.

This is a very nice quiet little restaurante tucked in the corner of a shopping plaza. We stumbled upon it on the way to the museum district. So worth it! Clean, great price, delicious food!!!! The pannang curry is super delicious!!!

We have eaten here many times over the past several years. Quiet place; good food; excellent service. Always friendly. Pot stickers are really good.

Simply put, I am not an expert in Thai food, but this is some of my favorite in the entire city, and I would go out of my way to eat here when I have a craving. Every single dish was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised by that, given how picky I can be about my spice tolerance and desire for flavor when I eat Asian food.

Visited Thai Bistro for lunch. Food flavor and quality are excellent. Service is also excellent. The restaurant and restrooms very clean. The restaurant is nicely decorated as well, location and accessibility very convenient . Another good thing is they don’t close after 2:00 pm as many restaurant do, this is very convenient for someone like me who don’t really have a fix schedule. Excellent Restaurant highly recommended.

I must say I was a bit turned off by the odor of this restaurant. When we walked in there was a distinct odor I could not distinguish whether it was detergent or insecticide. Believe me I was ambivalent about eating the food or staying in there any longer than I had to. Frankly, I'm not sure why I stayed. Maybe, I was just too embarrassed to walk out after being seated. So I ordered what I thought would be a "safe" dish called "Blazing Noodles". The portion was hefty and I didn't think I could finish it and before I knew it, I had eaten the whole thing. It was really delicious. My colleague ordered a fried rice dish that she finished as well. So apart from the smell of the restaurant, the food was good and the price was right. Very inexpensive overall!!

My wife & I discovered this cozy, warm & intimate place about 8 years ago. I revisited Houston after 7 years, went back there a few days ago. It was a delight to find the original owner [Noi] there; greeting me with genuine warmth. The menu has become more extensive. My guests greatly enjoyed all the dishes. I specially recommend the Thai Inferno, Triple S fish, Pan-fried fish curry, Panang curry & of course their Pad Thai. They don't mind tweaking the dishes to suit your palate & its always service with a smile. A top flight restaurant. www.txthaibistro.com

Good meal, did weekday lunch special of peanut chicken. Tasty and fast service. Recommended. Nice variety on menu. Parking can be challenging.

Wonderful food! The Tom yum soup was so flavorful. I would've just been happy just having the soup. But then our main course was even more delightful!!! Would come here everyday if I could. So worth the trip here.

The level of spicy in Thai green curry is bearable to my son, he enjoyed eating it. And a take out order of clear vermicelli cooked in a special dark peppery sauce a taste similar to one of his favorites some years back in Asia.

We had some good, some less so. Mrs. really enjoyed her vegetarian dumplings especially the sauce. I almost always get Tom Yum soup at Thai restaurants. Didn't care for the soup here. On the other hand, Mrs. thought her tofu with veggies was just fair. Veggies were sparse. My eggplant with chicken was better although it was minced chicken. Service was fine. Wouldn't rush back.

We enjoy this restaurant at least once a week for lunch because it is close to the office and the food is excellent.

I've been looking for another restaurant that makes an awesome Tiger Cry dish. Thai Bistro did it perfectly and I was so happy to find a Thai restaurant in Houston that did the dish well. The steak was perfectly grilled and the dipping sauce was brilliant. I absolutely loved the restaurant and the staff was great. The menu was very fairly priced and the quality of the food was great. It's an excellent business lunch and dinner location and I have no concerns taking a date or customer to Thai Bistro. Easy to get to location too!

The food is delicious and my husband can get his food "Thai hot" while mine is milder to my liking. My favorite is the Barbecue Lemongrass Tofu with brown rice. The veggies are fresh with not a trace of oil. I gave it 4 stars because once my food was cold despite sending it back multiple times. I left a comment on their website with no response from management. We boycotted this restaurant for 6 months and finally decided to revisit. No problems since but they nearly lost our patronage.

After returning from a recent trip to Thailand I was eager to try what Houston had to offer. Several people recommended Thai Bistro, so my wife and I tried it. The food was delicious and reminded me of several meals in Thailand. We liked the setting and our servers were very good. We liked it so much we have returned twice to try out other dishes. Prices are reasonable and the location is easy access off of the freeway. This restaurant is also BYOB with a corkage fee. We plan to make it our regular BYOB place.

I went for dinner with my fiance and wait for 15 mins, no even get a glass of water. The waitress did not care about us. So we left!!!

I didn’t like that the price of the food is high and if you don’t like the way your dinner was cooked to sweet or not how you asked for it to be cooked, they don’t offer to make the issue better 🚨

We had a really good early Sunday evening dinner at Thai Bistro. The panang curry, medium spice was just the right amount of spicy for me without losing the flavors of the dish. The Pad Thai and the Tom Ka soup were both very good. I am giving Thai Bistro 4 stars instead of 5 because the service was pretty slow, especially since we were the first people to sit down for dinner in the restaurant. Fortunately, the food was so good it made it worth the wait.

I happened on this restaurant when I was trying to get somewhere else, but couldn't find what I was looking for. The interior is small on the bottom floor, but it seems there is an upper level that has more seating. Food was pretty good though they were skimpy on the meat. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and it only had a few pieces of chicken in it. The Thai Iced Tea was a generous serving, however. I was dismayed at how long I had to wait for someone to take my order. It was almost 10 minutes before someone finally stopped at my table. Overall I liked it, but I'd probably order something different next time.

I LOVE this place. I've always liked Thai food. Thai Bistro made me LOVE Thai Food. I haven't had a single bad thing there and I have been dozens of times. The Spicy Basil Inferno is spectacular. The Green Curry Chicken is the best curry dish I have ever had. Their Panang curry is the best Panang curry I have ever had. The Garlic Beef also delicious. The red curry very good. I can't say enough good things about this gem of a restaurant. Their lunch specials are also a steal. Word to the wise - When they say their food is spicy, they mean it! I really like mine Hot but most people who enjoy spicy food will be fine with Medium. I have never braved the Thai Hot.before

We have been looking for another casual Thai place and found Thai Bistro. Easy location if you are visiting and staying in town. We enjoyed our relaxed dinner. We had shrimp spring rolls, chicken lettuce wraps and blazing vegetable noodles. All was good! We usually see minced chicken on lettuce wraps and really enjoyed their version which comes with three sauces and nice add ins. We ordered the Blazing noodles on the mild side since it was our first time there and next time we will get medium heat. It was loaded with veggies and tofu which we loved. Limited wine and beer list but very reasonably priced. We will go back for sure!

For a Friday evening (8pm), the restaurant was virtually empty. It might be popular at lunchtime but it was obviously not so at night. The Tom Yum soup was great but the rest (mix seafood inferno and the whole fish) was just average with no Thai taste at all. We should have asked for a glass of water instead of a bottle of champagne (Moët & Chandon). It is not on our list to go back for a date night.

The Deep-fried Shrimp with Tamarind Sauce was best, next the Panang Green Curry. The Sweet and Sour Fish Slices could use a better sauce such as the tamarind sauce. Service was polite and prompt. Prices reasonable.

The food was not very authentic but was still pretty decent. Service was good no complains there. Great place for a meal with friend or family Vegetarian friendly.

This Thai restaurant is right off the 59 freeway and at a glance looked a little too upscale for us...But we checked out the menu and all the dishes were very affordable. My husband and I are vegetarian and all the veg entrees were until $10...The appetizers were great and the service was excellant...The decor of the restaurant was beautiful and cozy...Would definetely recommend this to any couples for a romantic evening. They also have a room upstairs for a large group. I think the restaurant looks so nice from the outside looking in that it is intimidating to most people ( us included)...but the food and price were great! Can't wait to go back...

Best Thai in our area...and OPEN on Sundays!!! Thought the green curry was my favorite until I tried the pineapple curry. Now I cant decide! The combo inferno rice is also NOT to be missed.

This place has amazing food, specially the vegetarian dumplings, which my husband and I absolutely love. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, the hotel is kept well and clean. This is now my favorite restaurant in Houston for Thai food. Thanks to a friend of ours who took us here.

We have been going here for the last eight years, eating in or taking out about once a month. Everything there is good, from the fresh rolls to the curries. My favorites are the Basil Inferno, the Chicken with Peanut Sauce, the Spicy Green Beans, the Blazing Noodles with beef, and the Panang Curry. The seafood options are very good as well. I have tried three or four other Thai places in Houston and have yet to come across any that compare.

Been here with friends. Portions are small, food is ok, but at least the prices are very reasonable. Not many places you can sit down and get away with $8 including the tip

Went on a Friday. Tried a range of dishes. Service was excellent. Food just ok. Thai beef salad was over seasoned. Everything was just average.

Did a carryout and it was fantastic. They have a small dining area downstairs and an upper area as well, but that was closed. Decided to do carryout, and that was delicious. Can't wait to have that again and to try some other dishes.

I absolutely love Thai Bistro. I've had lunch at the location on Westheimer, and several dinners at the Southwest Fwy location. I make it a "go to" restaurant when I am visiting in Houston. I've never been disappointed with any of the dishes I've ordered; all very good, and the staff is always friendly. Each time I go, I get the spring rolls and the curry. Awesome! I get hungry just writing about it! :)

We had a lovely meal here after it was recommended by a friend. The menu contains a great selection - I struggled to decide what to have because it all sounds so great! All of our choices were lovely and I can't wait to get back and try more. My boyfriend had a seafood combination which contained both prawns and scallops. They were both cooked perfectly which isn't an easy feat!! I noted another reviewer complained about the rice being clumpy. Rice is traditionally served as 'sticky rice' in Thailand. I found ours to be cooked perfectly. The service and ambiance were top notch. I think it would suit couples and small groups alike. Overall a great authentic Thai restaurant and a definite new favourite! The meal was also excellent value for money which makes it even better!

Chicken satay tasted very good, chunky and tender with good dipping sauces. Rice, on the other hand, was terrible (soggy) and it wasn't even jasmine (this one boggles the mind, it's a Thai restaurant not serving jasmine rice!). Lastly, the yellow curry was average, with potatoes and carrots still slightly raw (should have cooked longer). This was a first time visit and probably the last as well.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Houston. I love the Chicken Satay and the fresh shrimp rolls. The Green Curry and Panang Curry are excellent and the portion sizes are good. Their Pad Thai is among the best I have tried. Sometimes service can be a little slow but they are always very polite. Great Place!

I used to frequent this restaurant for business lunches several years ago and always enjoyed it. I live on the other side of town and decided to stop by for lunch with my kids after going to the zoo. This lunch reminded me why I always thought to go back. The food is fantastic. My kids are young but even their fried rice is good enough that I found myself stealing some of their food in addition to my usual choices (Larb Gai & Pad Thai). I will be sure to visit again in the near future even though it's a bit of trek. If I lived close by I would be getting take-out once a week from this restaurant.

This place is solid, the Basil Inferno was good but not spicy, you have to tell them extra extra spicy. I thought the purple rice pudding wasn't good at all in my opinion. I would steer away from that. Other than that the area in good and the inside is pretty nice.

The food here is well spiced but the heat does not overpower the subtle flavors. The green curry chicken is really delicious and the Pad Thai is not greasy.

While it takes a trip to Thailand to get the very best Thai food (which is where I've enjoyed some of the best meals ever had in a restaurant), the Thai Bistro (far-west on Westheimer location) delivers as good as you'll likely find in Houston -- consistently tasty Thai fare at reasonable prices and with courteous, efficient service. Pleasant atmosphere, but middle of the road decor. Their curries are terrific (green curry with chicken, and shrimp panang are notable); their vegetables are very fresh. They will spice each dish to taste while cooking your meal, unlike so many other places where they just add a dollop of hot sauce on top of bland-cooked food when you order "hot" -- here it's really "hot", although if you order "mild" or "medium", that is what you get as well. Over several visits, the only dish not up to their otherwise high standards was Tom Yung Goong (spicy shrimp soup) which had a bit too sweet-tasting, rather than the more typical fiery, broth. Otherwise, everything else ordered has been superb, including salmon grilled with Thai spices, and garlic chicken worth getting again on a repeat visit. The lunch specials include a green salad and "home made" vegetable soup, and are available on Saturday until late in the afternoon, with generous enough portions to feel you've had a meal not just an appetizer. They also serve brown rice on request at no extra charge, while many local Thai restaurants only offer white rice or charge extra for brown rice. Of note, their coconut ice cream for dessert completes an authentic Thai dining experience.

Just had lunch at THE bistro . Good , friendly and Swift service . Fish in tamarind sauce was excelent . Accompanied with small soup and salad .

We tried this restaurant, being in the mood for Thai at someplace new to us. The menu is varied and seemed like a good value. We started with Tom Yum and Tom Ka soups. They were just as expected and well seasoned, with good broth. I got the lettuce wraps with grilled lemongrass chicken. Very nicely flavored meat and all the appropriate accompaniments. He got the Classic Thai Inferno with seafood, asking for no squid please. (All the squid we've had in Asian restaurants has been much too tough and rubbery) It was also good with plenty of shrimp and a few small scallops. Both were ordered medium spicy and served with chili sauces to add as desired. Nice decor, pleasant service and only two other tables occupied on a Saturday evening, so I hope the business continues.

ordered a huge diversified take out dinner for 4, and repeated to clarify order numerous times:still wrong. The different dishes were indistinguishable and i suspect its a ONE POT deal with different sauces applied. Worst chicken lettuce wraps ever, and i am a conoisseur. Very pricey for the result.

The food is delicious and they have a different style of taste. Try the "fish cake" and Panang curry, they are just awesome.

I forget about this place I think due to its non descriptive location (hidden off beaten path by strip store clutter) but then I remember and wa laa! Magnificent dumplings. Crispy on outside, chewy tenderness on inside! Green beans superb. Every dish I’ve had has been magnificent! Good job!

This was my first time to Thai Bistro. The service was excellent - very attentive and quick. The food on the other hand was about average. There are a lot of very good Thai places in the Houston area. Thai Bistro was good but nothing outstanding. The flavor in the red curry was very good but it was pretty skimpy on ingredients - especially the chicken. I would probably try out some other Thai restaurants before coming back.

I lived in Bangkok in the 80's and have lost count of the number of times I have visited Thailand. I know authentic Thai food, and understand the nuance of delicate seasoning, heat from chili etc. Its rare to come across a Thai restaurant that gets close to authenticity. Most are Thai-Tex cooked for the American palette. The evening I visited Thai Bistro did an excellent job. Yes to authentic taste and seasoning albeit with a slightly western twang. I will visit again. Congratulations for being one of the rare Thai eateries I have visited where I can say, very good!

It may be the closest restaurant from home, so it's really convenient to me. They have a flavourful food with a good variation of food that could be way spicy or even sweet. Service is good and the place is okay. You will spend about $15-20 per person.

Our work is near the Beltway and Westheimer, so we have a million options of Thai food, or other food. I make sure to go to Thai Bistro at least 2-3 times a month. They have the best lunch specials around for about 8 bucks. The panang curry is absolutely the best I have ever tasted. I have tried about 7 other places, and nobody matches their consistency. They are also very friendly and quick to seat me, or to provide my to-go order. I hope they stick around forever...

had dad lunch there several times, and had enjoyed it. Decent dinner was disappointing at best. Although the restaurant as full, the servers were not too busy, but it was impossible to get their attention. i were at the bottom of the steps and no one would look our way. We had to flag down a waiter coming down the stairs. Food was mediocre, and when I asked for more sauce, they said it was impossible. Keep looking for a good Thai place--this isn't it!

Ate here a few times with some friends and family. The place is very nice and cozy. The food are good. And the deserts are amazing. Oh and they don't mess with their spiciness. I can only handle up to 3. going on 4 for spiciness I couldn't even feel my tongue already...but soooo good!

Although we don't live in Houston anymore, we frequent Thai Bistro when we can. The atmosphere is intimate, the service impeccable, and the food delicious and fresh. Although my husband loves the classic Thai Inferno - super hot as the name implies - you don't have to like curry or spicy foods to eat here. They will make any dish as mild as you desire. Save room for dessert: the fried bananas with coconut ice cream is scrumptious!
Cozy, quick lunch spot
the location is perfect. the atmosphere is cozy, great for a quick lunch when ur craving thai food. They offer canned coke! thats a plus for me, as i dont really like fountain drinks... the appetizers are great and tasty. We've had the prawn on toast, i loved their cucumber dip. we also got the prawn blanket and it was good too we had to order another portion of it! . the soup (tom yam ) is great... the prawns are cooked well (but i like it creamy - so i ordered another portion of a creamy soup that is cocunut based and mixed the two together! and it tasted wonderful. Extremly spicy when you ask for the 4th level of hottness. Main dishes come with jasmine rice... ask for the brown rice for a healthier choice, its really good too. My personal favorite is the green curry, extra spicy. I removed the egg plants and added straw mushrooms YUUUUM! loved it very much. I visit this place everytime i crave spicy food...
