We eat Thai food often, and this is one of the best we've had in town. They have all the typical Thai dishes as well as some other Asian dishes. If you're looking for a delicious spicy meal, try the Pad Kee Mao. For something equally delicious but not spicy try the Pad See Ew. And if you're trying to avoid Thai, try the combination fried rice. Anything spicy can be made more or less spicy upon request. We get take out from here all the time. The food is ready, cooked fresh, in 10 min and you can call ahead to have it ready when you get there. The meals are average priced (around $10 each), but there is more than enough food to split or have leftovers.

Fast service at lunch and reasonable prices in the lunch specials. My favorites are red curry and cashew chicken.

What the $%^##^^ Happened to Their Service! Went in with the grand-kids and another couple and they are out of kids menus, service is the worst I have had in my life. The food is still good if high priced. Do not recommend eating inside the restaurant, just order take out.

I was expecting great things from the previous reviews... service here is terrible.. we waited 10 minutes just to place drink orders... the food here is not your normal Thai food... we ordered fried bananas at the end of the meal hoping it would make up for the poor taste of food... they were actually fried in a wonton wrapper - WTH.... so disappointed.. the place was filled with people that all got the same poor service....

I had veggie fried rice. Good flavor. Served very hot He had seafood with veggies. He ate all. Said was very good

My friend referred me to this place. I went there for dinner and liked it. The food was delicious and stylishly served. Staff was very polite and helpful.

My experience at the cottage has not been completely good and main reason is that i’m gluten intolerant. I’ve been there with colleagues, reading that the place has gluten free options. Unfortunately options are only two (2) dishes and they di not have gluten free soy to adapt something else. Has said, not a good experience for me. Others may find well here

My friends and I go here several times a year when the ACBL bridge tournament is in the area. This place is amazing. The food is wonderful and the service is incredible. We go there everyday for lunch during the tournament. We are always in a hurry to have lunch because of time restraints for the tournament. They are always so accommodating to take care of us to make sure we are served in a timely manner. Nong is always our waitress and she is absolutely wonderful!!!

My friends and I eat lunch here weekly. We've never been disappointed. Excellent Thai food, fast service, great prices.

Was looking for a good Thai meal so thought I would try Thai Cottage - really glad I did, the beef with basil was excellent just spicy enough. Will be back for more

Good place for lunch. This was my first experience with Thai Cottage and I enjoyed the meal. The service was fast and the waitstaff friendly. I like the fact that you can decide how spicy you want your dish. They have little pepper indicators from 1-5 where 1 is little to no heat all the way up to a 5 which is very hot. You can also choose to have 0 peppers which is no heat whatsoever. I chose a 1 since the 2 indicated it would make your lips "tingle". The 1 was perfect since it definitely had a kick to the spice but not so much that I couldn't enjoy my meal.

I haven't actually been to the Thai Cottage in Houston, I went to the one in Katy but couldn't seem to find it on Trip Advisor. Regardless, it's still the same place and it's amazing! I lived in the Katy area most of my life. About a month or so before moving, my boyfriend and I discovered the wonders of Thai Cottage. I am SO upset I am nowhere near one anymore. Before this place, I had tried Thai food once or twice and didn't think much of it. Thai Cottage changed all that. The boy and I came here for dinner one night because we didn't want to cook. I ordered the Panang Curry and he the Red Curry. I like spicy, but like to be able to taste the rest of the flavors in a dish as well. The level 2 spice was perfect. The boy got Level 3 and it was perfect for him (he likes things a little spicier). Both dishes were perfect. We also ordered Thai Iced Tea and it was the best I've ever had. Absolutely perfect. Our server was also very helpful, attentive, and nice. Best server we had had in a long time. We literally loved the food and service so much we came back the next day for lunch. We had the same server and he even remembered our names! He suggested that we try the Wings of Paradise and so we did. They were crisp and wonderful. They had a mix of basil and garlic which was awesome. SO yummy. We ordered the same dishes as the night before and were completely satisfied. Just as good as the night before. A couple weeks later, the boy and I made my parents come here. Again, we had the SAME server and he still remembered our names! We again had a fantastic meal. Thai Cottage is beautiful, has great service, and wonderful food.

We never had Thai food and were visiting the city of Houston for another event. We liked the Chicken Pad Thai. The plate was huge enough to be shared with two people. It was served with flat clear noodles and crunchy veggies like carrots, cabbage, bean sprouts, and green onions. Very little chicken. More tofu than chicken was in our dish. It was slightly sweet. We also tried the Tom Yum soup but found it too different for our tastes. Maybe it is an acquired taste. We also tried the Curry Puff pastry which was filled with green stuff and dipped in a thin sweet sauce. The menu said the green stuff was chicken, potatoes and powdered curry but we didn't see or taste any chicken. We liked it. The service was excellent. It was very dusty next to our table. The bathroom was not as clean as it could have been given that it only had one stall. The wait staff was attentive. The napkins were truly white. I don't know why parents think it is okay to let their kids stand in the isle and scream when they don't get their way.It takes a while for the food to arrive and the poor kids are hungry. Parents need to take their kids outside and walk them until the food arrives or the staff needs to give the kids something to color. It seems the couples date at this location and couples return with their kids years later so I do understand the parents with compassion for their situation. Our situation is that we didn't make those babies and we didn't go there to pay to hear those toddlers scream at high pitch every time they don't get what they want. I hope to return to this location again but maybe I will just order out. Did I mention my allergies were hitting strong in the Houston weather with shooting pain from my eye to the back of my head? Every time that toddler screamed at that higher than soprano pitch, the pain shot through my head. The seating area was small so there was no where to go to get away. Thai Cottage is not a child friendly restaurant. Since people are taking their toddlers there anyway, maybe the restaurant needs to become more family friendly so we can all enjoy the delicious food.

Started with a spicy Tom Yum soup and continued with a Red curry. A great place with nice sculptures and the food is great. Parking available in front of the restaurant

I visited Thai cottage twice during my stay in Houston. This was one of the locations I went to. the first time we had fried rice and the sec time we though we ordered shrimp fried rice but the order that come out was shrimp with vegetables. But we ended up taking it and it was good! We had also ordered chicken statay..one of my favorites at Thai places, that was great too! Food was spiced to our liking!

Thai Cottage presents a wonderful range of authentic Thai foods at reasonable prices. The staff is ever friendly and willing to help with menu selections. The ambiance is beautiful and set against the background of contemporary paint faded wood and Thai art. I love that the music level is low enough that you can hear yourself in a conversation.

When I Visit Houston this is the first place I try to have Lunch or Diner the food is very Tasty and they adjust the spice to your choice. They also hae great Lunch Menus.

Tried the potstick and glass noodle salad, it was not bad. Price was ok. If you are looking for some decent thai food, this is not a bad place

Have been here 4 times in the past two months. Great Pad Thai, perfect spicyness. Only issue is that I ordered Crispy Chicken Roll and it was frozen when I got it...Twice. Very Long wait at lunch.

Service is attentive and authentic, pricing is very reasonable, and the food is incredible. The spicy scale is 1-5. But if you are hardcore you can ask for 6-10. Pad THAI and the Tasty Healthy are great choices.

I think Thai Cottage is hugely underrated, because of the location. Believe me they have the best Pad Thai in the city! And you would not believe it the chicken wings are out of this world!!! Order them crispy and spicy, you will go back! The atmosphere is so so, but who cares!?

I had steak served with a spicy lime sauce. A unique and tasty change of pace. The rice they served with it was delicious. A varied menu of choices

One of the most consistent restaurants I've been to. Deliciously mouth-watering Thai food, especially the green and red curries. Excellent service. I've been there quite a few times.

Nice, low key place. Easy to eat alone, male or female.

Been here couple times. Did not disappoint, good place to eat. The appetizers were great and the food was as expected.

Just had lunch there - they have specials that come with one spring roll which seemed to have NO filling in it. There is also a choice of salad (ok) or soup of the day, which was egg drop soup. Not really Thai, but whatever... We had the red curry which was a vile combination of salty and sweet, and pork stir-fried with basil and chilli. The basil was virtually non-existent and there were way too many carrots and onions. Again, the chef was heavy-handed with the sugar. It wasn't the best of starts when our waitress rolled her eyes when my husband stumbled over his order, I suppose. Please avoid.

This restaurant was conveniently located next the Westchase Marriott. The food was fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy Thai food.

Lunch on Westheimer in Houston- crowded so get there early! The turn around seemed to move ok, the wait from 11:30m - 1pm was about 10 mins at the most if not less. The lunch menu had about 11 choices, Yellow, Green and Red curry dishes, noodles with beef , chicken, rice , bamboo, and all the typical veggies one would expect from a place like this. Quick, cheap and good enough to bring me back in back to back days for lunch. Watch out for the choice of getting your food 1-5 hot/ spicey . At 5 you're sweating and looking for water or tea. The crowd was a genetic mix of what God put on this earth for sure. You sit next to anyone, no private conversations, loud, busy and small. A place to people watch- LOL at them all. The crowd is IT/ Oil business younger folks. Priced to please and it's not terrible, its quick food in which you get a dish, soup and tiny fried egg roll for $7.95- Supply chain, logistics and food production efficiencies at it's best. BTW I don't speak Thai and couldn't understand the waitress - I just pointed.

I travel to Houston a lot for work. And everytime I go Thai Cottage is my go to place to eat. Their food is great and they have cheap lunch specials. Dinner servings are enough for two meals, so I always take it back to my hotel room frigde and have it the next night for dinner as well.

If you are a real fan of Thai food I think you might prefer a different place as this is just average in my humble opinion. Nothing wrong with the food - it's ok just had way better and more authenic Thai elsewhere,

Theme based chain has taken up Thai menu for its concept. The selections cover the entire spectrum of street food from egg rolls and soups to noodles and rice. Each plate is generous, and the pricing is reasonable, making the trip well worth its value. The taste is really not distinctive enough to be called authentic. It is more like a fusion of a Chinese takeout and mall-based diner. Sample menu: 1.Chicken crispy rolls (x2) $4.25. Wrapper was crispy and retained heat well. Worked well with sweet & sour sauce. 2.Steamed dumplings (x7) $6.5. Translucent wrapper did not break but was not too chewy. Bland without the soy sauce. 3. Chicken Pad thai $8.95. Big jumble of green onions, tofu, and rice noodles. Crushed peanuts and lime were left on side of dish to be added at your pace. Julienne carrots completed the visual plating. Satisfying but could use more of the noodles. 4. Sauteed sweet and sour chicken $9.95. Nothing really Thai for this selection but generous size is a good candidate for a takeout option.

Worst service ever! staff has no manners at all. they have no clue about customer service. i have been a regular customer since they opened up. we order out or eat there at least once a week. there is a management guy named POP, he is the worst of them all. i would not go back there ever again. it a shame they lost one of their loyal customer.

We wnt to Thai Cottage one rainy night in Houston. LUCKILY it wasn't too crowded. I got the stir fry with tofu and spring rolls. My coysin got some hot coconut soup and dhe said it was some of the best she'd ever had. I would definitely visit again when i am in houston.

overall the food taste right for thai foods. they have lots of options too. the environment was pleasant and the staffs are nice. I end up coming to this restaurant frequently for the 2 weeks i was in houston. one suggestion will be great if they can add Halal menu for Muslim customers.

Fast service. Outstanding food. The lunch special (Siam beef) is plenty and taste really good. Add the fried roll and the soup and you have a complete meal for a very reasonable price.

The food is very authentic, you won't be disappointed. It's licenced & the wine selection is good too. Service is excellent.

Needed a quick meal before the start of a seminar we wanted to attend as part of the FiestaEquestria 2014 con. We had 40 minutes to eat and jam, and for a family a four we were skeptical on our time frame. Stumbled upon Thai Cottage, which is located in a mega-mini mall adjacent to our hotel, right a opening (Saturday a.m.) We were the first ones in and the only ones there...perfect. Ordered Thai iced teas as we sat down, and got our order in as the waitress served our drinks. Spicy basil and beef (#3 spicy level - for wifey, pad thai and broccoli beef for daughters (#1 spicy), BBQ chicken (#1 spicy) for me. My BBQ chicken was a little on the dry side, but when dipped in the provided sauce, all was forgiven. Yummo. Basil and beef was typical, as was the Pad Thai and broccoli beef. Nothing outstanding here, but decent, "as can be expected" Thai cuisine. Daughter #1 said the Pad Thai was a little hotter than #1, but overall the food was tasty, the bill was fair and the service was prompt enough for us to make it out of there and to our seminar with seconds to spare.

The food quality was mediocre. Not the best thai I've ever had, but not the worst either. The shrimp and chicken were overcooked and meager. The dishes lacked the spices and ingredients that excellent thai places serve. On a positive note, the prices were reasonable, but you get what you pay for. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. The interior is very nicely decorated like a rustic thai cottage complete with a small waterfall.

Quick seating and informative staff. I asked for suggestions and I ended up with yellow curry chicken. So wonderful. Also tried Crab Fried Rice...amazing!! Great prices during lunch. Ample portions.

Very good food and service. The tastes of all the dishes was wonderful. Nothing too spicy but everything that makes your tastebuds smile.

I cannot comment on the food because I only stopped in to purchase a gift card. however, I can say that the customer service is above and beyond. They went out of their way to allow me to purchase a gift card in a denomination that I needed even though it was not normally offered. Very impressed with this business.

Thai Cottage had delicious red curry and good Pad Thai. Attentive and friendly wait staff and very quick service.

Great curries and Pad Thai. The service was nice and waiters polite. Good choices of appetizers. Small choice in desserts.

I went to this restaurant on a weekend at around 8:30 and it wasn't busy. It took a while for the waiter to come over to take our order and the service is slow and not that attentive. I had the sizzling beef dinner which was very tasty and a good size portion for the price.

I always have pass this place whenever I was around the area.. Was going to try something else that day but decide to check it out . It was lunch time and tried the chicken teriyaki in a mild flavor . It was okay not like a big taste to it . The chicken noodle soup was ok . Not enough chicken in but the taste of the soup was there . The lunch entree was descent but it didn't have enough flavor to Thai food ... Maybe I'm wrong but it was okay .. The restaurant looked very old and run down from the inside .. Ceiling looked old and just painted . Walls were very red one side and colorful on the other .. Service was okay .. Most of the servers are all gather around the outside kitchen and host area either drinking, eating , on their phones and booth doing something . Not much of a social involvement ...

Their pad Thai is perfect. Best Pad Thai I've had. They have a good lunch hour special, you can get soup or a salad with your lunch. I would advise to get the soup. I wish they sold the soup by itself it's very good and the broth is satisfying. If you go for dinner you should definitely get the egg rolls as an appetizer, so good! Make sure you know their business hours, they tend to close for an hour or two each day before dinner. I never make reservations to eat here, people move in and out fast and they have alot of tables, at least for the one in Pearland they do.

I'm not an expert on Asian food, but my lunch was delicious and very reasonably priced at about $6.50 for soup or a small salad, crispy roll, and entree with steamed rice. I enjoyed the ginger chicken while my companion thought the green curry was yummy and not overly hot. My criteria for the best place to eat is good food at a great price, and that is what this is, at least for the luncheon special.

Small, out of the way local that you would miss if you didn't know it was there. My girlfriend and I just had a Thai massage and he lady recommended this Thai restaurant. Everything was good. Pleasant atmosphere, no crowd, great service and the authentic Thai dishes were to die for.

My nephew and his wife live near by and think this is the best Thai restaurant of the several in the neighborhood. We joined them one evening and agree that it's very good. I thought the two spice level was perfect. My partner likes it hot, so he'd order a three next time.

Met a friend here for lunch, great place! Service was fast and friendly, food tasted scrumptious! And what a deal! They have a great affordable lunch menu. But, get there early a lot of the locals have discovered this gem. Will be back.

Good Thai food, quiet but busy place. Great Friday night happy hour 1/2 price liquor. Basic selection of beers, all lagers, nice wines. Thom Tha Gai soup real good, curries were good, Pad Si Ew was good as well as Pad Thai. Everyone was happy. Not expensive for quality of meal. Good service. Will bring both oil and dry spicing to table. Asked each order the spicing level wanted. Everyone’s came out as liked. All in All good choice. Easy parking location

Service is good, good food. I tried the pad tai and fried banana with coconut ice cream, all good but the ice cream had some weird bits inside kind of artificial coconut ... Ok but not supe

Very consistently good Thai food. All the usual dishes with nothing particularly unusual. Excellent and quick service. You won't be disappointed with many visits here.

I have eaten here 3 times over the last couple of months. It is a short walk from the Marriott Westchase where I was staying for work. The food was all very good and the servers are good. My first visit was a sit down dinner. We had a large table, but were served quickly and correctly. My other 2 visits were to pick up carry-out to take back to my hotel room. The server was friendly, took my order and pointed me to a table to wait at. My food came out packaged to go very quickly and it was as good as if I had eaten there.

I went in and was immediately greeted and seated at the table. The waitress was very nice and when I was ready to order was there. I had the Chicken Pad That which was one of my favorite of all the ones I have had in Thai restaurants across the US. One thing that really stood out to me was the way they did the spicyness of your food you could choose between a scale of 1-5 and I had a 4 and it was perfect just how I like. Great prices and don't get me started on the portions I had enough for a second meal the following day.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the whole country. I look forward to coming to Houston just to eat here. I usually order the red curry. It is done perfectly. Today I got the duck curry. It was fantastic. The curry puffs for appetizer are good too.

Great Thai food. The restaurant gets loud at lunch, but the food is great and the service is fast. The restaurant is clean.

A wonderful place to eat if you're in the energy corridor. The food is very tasty and the wait staff is pretty good. The setup is cool. The food is very cheap and will get you the best bang for your buck in the area.

You can find a Thai Cottage all over the city. Don't let that scare you though. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the city and I go there any time I am in Houston. You can get your dishes nice and spicy too. It's very reasonable priced too with most meals around $10.

Good place for lunch. Good food, fast and reliable. Good choices and right portions. Served with egg roll and soup or salad. I like get curry and chilli paste the best.

As Thai restaurants go this is nice one, but was nothing exceptional. All of the food was very nice, service was good. There was just nothing to shout about to go to this one particularly. It was very local to our hotel, so was an okay choice for this alone.

This was my 2nd time here and it was still great! It was so packed during lunch on a Friday and we had to wait about 15-20 minutes. We got fast service for our drinks and even faster on our food. We were quite impressed despite the packed restaurant. They have great lunch prices as well. If you're not into a lot of spice, either get no spice or 1 spice. Hotter than that and you may be sweating out more than you drink... lol... The ginger pork and chicken teriakki was good.

Excellent food but they were not happy about us going in 40 minutes before they close at 9p. So, go early.
Great food, slow lunchtime service
Thai Cottage is second only to Thai Gourmet in Houston. It has a slightly less varied menu, but the food is always good. The kitchen has no trouble pumping out orders during the busy lunch hours. However, getting the food to a customer is another matter. The other day I went for carryout, popped in and placed my order, dashed to the nearby grocery and popped back to pick up my food, assuming it would be ready. It was, but I didn't learn that for a good ten minutes. The nice lady behind the counter was simply overwhelmed. I watched 5 plates of hot food sit and grow cold instead of being served to customers dining in and boxes of carry-out wait and wait to be bagged and handed over. Eventually, she remembered my green curry which was right there all along and handed it to me with salad and crispy roll -- all of it delicious, if less warm than it might have been.
