Definitely delightful

By 4SocialJustice |

Delicious, healthy, and inexpensive food. Inside is not spacious. I dined alone at the bar. I didn't like being by the entrance door though. The service was good. I ate the Pad KRA-THIAM w/shrimp and had a glass of their sweet Thai iced tea.

Flavorful!

By Hugh L |

My wife and I had dinner with another couple as part of a mid-week visit to Portland for a get-a-way. It was a very convenient walk from our hotel, and we were able to get a table without reservations. Our meals were the Pad Ka-Phroa and the Pad Khing, both with chicken. One was medium 'hot' and the other was 'hot'. Both were spiced just as we expected; the right amount of 'heat' without overpowering the flavors of the ingredients. Our friends experienced the same with their orders. We are planning to return this summer to Portland and will dine here again.

delicious thai food for lunch; great lunch specials

By edwL1361CE |

We stopped by this place after visiting Powell's book store. We ordered the lunch specials and some appetizers. The lunch specials were just the right amount for lunch. Overall the food was very good

Good Food, Great Staff

By Joan C |

We had take out dinner here recently. The staff is hard working and friendly. We walked in and ordered and our food was ready relatively quickly. I had a pineapple pork dish that sounded great on the menu but wasn't that flavorful. I was a bit disappointed. I'm guessing it's a different experience when they can prepare your meal on a plate and not the same as take out in a box. Not to mention eating it in our car in the pouring rain. I'd try them again and try something different.

Delish!

By Krista |

Very good Thai food and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend the crispy trout. We try to stop in whenever we are in Portland.

I talk Thai

By Wendy T |

Found this place on a walk from our hotel. Crowded...so we thought why not....and what a great choice we made. Speedy, yet not rushed service. Great food, good atmosphere...would def go back.

Bloody brilliant

By mart099 |

Loved it. In Portland on business, after 11 hour flight I fancied a Thai and this place didn't disappoint. Great food, great atmosphere. As I was on my own I ate at the bar, nice and friendly staff. I had the stir fry Pad Prig, was awesome.

Great food, but bad service

By Dana J |

The food is amazing but the service wasn´t nice, and the waitresses were in a constant hurry. Yet, I would recommend it. The plates are big and tasty.

Great Thai Food

By aprince707 |

Was blown away by both the quality and quantity from this hole in the wall joint in the less than perfect part of downtown Portland. Of the seven-eight Thai restaurants I have been too in the Portland are this one might be the best!

Not very heady

By rachellandquist |

The restaurant is decorated nice with a good vibe but the food was not very good. Gave a good try with several entrees and it was was not prepared very well. May have been an off day but as I was traveling I just don't know.

Great thai food

By senior travelers |

We had good thai food for dinner, especially the seafood peacock curry. Prices are very reasonable too. We saw so many orders for take out during our visit.

Very enjoyable dinner

By Duncan P |

Was here for dinner with four other colleagues. The food was very good. The house pinot noir is pretty good. Would definitely go back.

Thai Peacock - Really Good Food at Good Prices!

By Rick M |

While on vacation we decided to try Thai Peacock at the suggestion of the front desk at our hotel. We went and had an early dinner. The wait wasn't bad, and we were seated initially outside but chose to move inside without issue. We had our typical Thai dishes of red curry chicken and pad thai. Both were very good and properly prepared. A must try!!

Excellent Thai food Pearl District.

By vnishith |

Excellent Thai food near our hotel. They do not have done in option but you can order and eat outdoors or carry out. Our food was tasty and full of flavor. Service was prompt.

Amazing Thai in Portland Local

By pneon99 |

My Wife and I were on a trip to Portland recently and were looking for a good local Thai place to try out. Both the Hotel we stayed at "The Paramount" and yelp highly recommended Thai Peacock. From the outside the place is very unassuming, you think its smaller then it is. They have a nice seating area upstairs as well as separate area downstairs. There is also a community table area should you wish to dine with others. As we walked in we were greeted by an extremely friendly waitress and were told to put our name into the iPad up front. This was a very easy way of knowing when your table is ready as it sends you a link you can verify. The food had was among the best Thai food I have eaten. This seems like a real local joint a mix of younger couples and individuals that know good authentic Thai food. Food we ordered Gyoza: Very big chicken flavor delicious, dipping sauce maybe a little too sour. Chicken Curry Yellow: I asked for Medium spice and I absolutely got it, this is a spicy delicious curry not too coconutty chicken was cooked to perfection. I would be careful ordering any Spicer I'm guessing HOT is unbearably hot. Chicken Pad see Ew: Chicken again perfectly cooked, sauce was delicious Drinks: Mango Thai Margarita was very unique and bursting with flavor Thai Peacock IPA was also a great drink to get Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. They do get busy so make sure to put your name in and come back once your table is ready.

Great Experience, Greater Food

By Serenity Q |

I went here with two friends yesterday and it was unbelievably amazing. We went during happy hour and got a fairly decent portion size. My friends really enjoyed their food, as did I (please note that if it says it's spicy, it's spicy, even the medium Peacock curry had a decent kick). The only thing was that my friend said her food didn't come with enough of the peanut sauce so it was a little dry, but she still enjoyed it!

Delicious!!

By 838nikkis |

We were on our two week honeymoon, eating at restaurants the whole time and this was one of our absolute favorite meals!! Delicious and very affordably priced. We thought about going back a second time but just couldn't fit it into our schedule. It was amazing, you will not be disappointed here if you are a fan of Thai food.

cozy place with good vibe and good food

By Alaka S |

We went on a friday evening. The place is small but the tables were arranged in such a way that one did not look into other people's food. We also got the window table very quickly. The vibe was good. place is cozy. we ordered pad thai and kaery kuri. both were delicious. service was good and prices were reasonable.

Very nice and athmospheric Thai restaurant

By DancesWithCountries |

Went there for lunch, at the suggestion of our hotel Concierge. The place has absolute superb food and fancy cocktails. Service was excellent, this was a real treat!

Great Place ... But "Scary" Part of Portland

By EagleScout1985 |

Very nice place, with an assortment of meal entree' options ... reasonable prices ... and solid customer service. The site seemed small at first, with the bathroom kinda located in a back hallway / closet. However, there is an entire room away from the main entrance ... so if you desire more space with family and friends, request the larger area. The only negative issue we faced does NOT deal with Thai Peacock. Unfortunately, the downtown Portland area is witnessing a surge of homeless individuals, and I will openly admit that parking for this restaurant is "scary." We had an individual follow our rental vehicle across the road while we tried to park ... and he stood on the sidewalk, with one hand inside his unzipped jacket. We did not exit our vehicle; we simply moved to a different spot about a block away. As we drove away, we noticed that the man walked back across the street to his original location ... clearly moving to our side when he noticed us parking. Terrible situation for those that are unfamiliar with "city" atmospheres ... potentially unsafe for those with young kids.

Fantastic

By Bwkuah |

Craving for non American food led us to this place. Dry good cocktails, Bangkok mule and tamarind sour were great. We then proceeded to order our traditional Thai favourites, only the pork shoulder dish disappointed and tasted for the local palate, Tom yum soup was great, spicy too! Phad Kwai Teoh was excellent. Red curry was very good, as was the larb salad. Wasn’t busy but Long line of takeouts ready for collection was encouraging. All Thai staff very reassuring. Great meal, very authentic.

Yum!

By Chloe |

Delicious food and good menu selection. Wheelchair accessible. Nice staff and it’s clean and organized. Definitely stop by here!

Uneven

By Drbrooks4337 |

We were up for Thai food and this fairly highly rated establishment was close. While I was very disappointed my spouse had a great meal. She had the Tom Kah soup and the mango cashew stir fried speciality she asked for it "hot" , one notch lower than their "very hot" and was not disappointed. She had the unsweetened Thai iced tea and was happy, happy, happy. I ordered their speciality, the Thai Peacock Curry. Their speciality sauce is ground peanuts and coconut milk. I asked for it " hot" and although I was expecting spicier it was ok. What disappointed were the mussels which were cold, not even having enough time to absorb any sauce. The squid rings were large, rubbery and tepid. The shrimp was fine. My choice of a French Fume Blanc was not appropriate, but the Thai ice tea balanced nicely what spice there was. I was uninspired to return the dish to the kitchen. The staff was very nice and the cocktail menu looked intriguing. But this was lunch, and too early to want to explore. I do not doubt the other rave reviews, but today's fare was less than satisfying.

Rude service

By choosey1 |

I really don’t get the hoopla about this place. I booked this restaurant based on all the positive reviews yet I found the staff to be quite rude. We had a very large party celebrating several special occasions. I indicated that on my reservation but it was never acknowledged. We were seated promptly but no one was friendly. The host acted like he was doing us a tremendous favor. When I went to use the restroom, I noticed there was no toilet paper. I told my server this and she gave me a very dirty look and simply said okay. I did not know what that meant. Was she going to get some toilet paper? After seeing her go in the bathroom with a roll, I figured it was okay to use the bathroom but not because she notified me that the bathroom was ready. She did the minimum of talking when she took our order. She never smiled and made us seem like we were imposing on her. Our special occasion was ruined by the attitude of the staff at this place. She never asked if everything was okay once the food came. Let me point out that she spoke English well so it was not a language problem. Tip was automatically added so she did not care at all about providing good service. Food was okay. It was neither great nor terrible. No need to return to a place with rude and unappreciative staff.

Hit and miss

By CAM |

We dined at this restaurant on the basis of excellent reviews and advertised vegan options. It was therefore very disappointing in so many ways. The service was poor and there were communication issues, resulting in one main dish not being brought to the table and one vegan diner being given a plate of chicken. The noodle dishes were swimming in a large amount of peanut sauce which meant the food was soggy and wet. One diner had no noddles in his soup despite us asking for them. We overheard another that another customer’s order had been mixed up too. The drinks (wine and beer) and mango with sticky rice dessert were good. Some of the dishes were tasty but overall, the food was very inconsistent. As a British person, I found it galling that we had to leave a tip. In the UK, service like this would not receive a gratuity!

Did not live up to expectations

By anno129 |

We really wanted some Thai food on our trip to Portland and Thai Peacock was just down the road from our hotel. Menu looked great, cool atmosphere in the restaurant but we were disappointed with the food. It was bland and lukewarm. It looked fantastic but just did not deliver on flavour. Service was very quick - think our whole meal took about 40 minutes from arrival to departure. Hope it was just an off night for them but we all agreed it was disappointing.

Delicious meal.

By The_Viceroy |

Outstanding thai food. I got a spicy curry and spring rolls and they were outstanding. Good portions and reasonable prices. If thai food is your thing, you can't go wrong at Thai Peacock.

This place was fantastic!

By Teresa E |

In the heart of downtown Portland there are a lot of Thai restaurants to choose from. Saw the reviews and decided this would be our pick😀 We were able to get a table outside; enjoyed the beautiful weather. Great service. Relaxing vibe. Cocktails and menu was suburb. I had The Evil and my friend had the crusty trout. Both dishes were well seasoned and fresh. Two drinks and two entrees were only $36 plus tip. Delicious and a bargain!

Wowee

By CatWrangler |

I was only in Portland for one night and am so glad I chose this restaurant. The vibe is very lively and I was lucky enough to get there early enough for a cozy table in the small street-level dining room. The hostess and wait staff were really nice and efficient. I had ginger chicken, which was fantastic. Dining alone, I was able to watch the world go by in the Pearl District outside the window and great people-watching inside as a diverse cast of Portland denizens - from hipsters to seniors - came and went.

Very good Thai dinner

By Marc L |

We followed the TripAdvisor reviews and we have not been disappointed. It was one of the best Thai dinner I had in a long time. It's close to the downtown area, not a large restaurant but with a few table outside and a quiet mezzanine. The selection of appetizers [Thai platter] is really good and tasty I picked the house specialty Seafood curry and it was also very tasty and generously served. Good service - reasonable prices.

Great Thai Food!

By Nicholas R |

This is some of the best Masaman curry I’ve ever had. Same for the Crab And Cream Cheese wontons as an appetizer. You might have to wait for a bit on Fri and Sat, but it’s totally worth it. Reservations only for parties of 6 or more.

Delicious!

By Julie D |

Was hungry for Thai food but couldn't figure out where to go, ended up here on the recommendation from the hotel I was staying at. Food was delicious and atmosphere were great.

We loved this place

By john b |

Great decor, friendly service and Thai food that is different than what we are use to. We had the crispy trout with pad-thai. It is fantastic. Wish that I ordered a whole order for myself. We also got something called The Evil???. Made with curry. I am not a curry guy, my wife loved it. They had a Thai mule made with Thai rum...fantastic. Worth going there for this only. Not expensive. Not a huge menu. It seems that a lot of restaurants in Portland have 10 different dishes that change.

A busy Thai restaurant in downtown Portland

By IAN L |

We decided to order a take-out meal from Thai Peacock, which was only a short walk from our hotel. Ordering was easy, and ours was ready right on time. The restaurant was busy at about 6:30 pm on a weekday, and there were at least a dozen take-out orders on a shelf waiting to be picked up. Chopsticks, napkins, and extra hot sauce were available over by the exit. We had two salads (chicken larb and green papaya salad) and an order of summer rolls (shrimp salad rolls). The food was good, but the servings were small. And perhaps I missed it, but when ordering online, I didn’t notice a place to choose how spicy we wanted our food to be. All in all, I would go back again, but would order one extra dish to balance off the smallish portions.

Amazing food! Spicy though!

By jojo1015 |

My friend and I tried Thai Peacock for our last night in Portland. We both ordered noodle dish with medium spiciness, which is usually mild but kick of spiciness. Oh no, it was fire-hot. The server came by and we tried to be polite but had to be honest that we couldn’t eat. She took our dishes away saying “she’ll fix them”. I didn’t know what he did but new dishes came out and it was just so amazingly delicious - so flavorful and fresh! If you are not big fan of spicy food but want just a bit, order mild medium :)

Delicious Food in trendy, casual place

By CdnLib |

All of our dishes were very tasty in this casual, close seating restaurant. They are smart to keep to music down, it was nice to be able to hear each other. All in all we would eat here again, we enjoyed the experience.

Fast Pace, fresh food

By RealPeopleRoam |

This tiny restaurant is a must-see, just for the experience. It's a hustle bustle kind of place- chefs wok-frying in view of the dining room, waitresses scurrying to wait tables and fill take out orders. The food is fresh and delicious. I couldn't stop watching the staff go about their duties like efficient well-oiled machines. There was a heat wave this week, and the dining room was quite warm. Yet all the waitresses were smiling, genuinely pleasant and helpful. It turned out to be the cheapest meal on our travels. (About $20 per person) Did I mention that the food was fresh and delicious? You could tell there were a lot of returning customers. I would be too if it wasn't my last night in Portland! Skip the food trucks! (My only complaint would be the noise level. The second floor dining area overlooks the lower floor. It was quite busy and the noise from upstairs was a bit overwhelming to those of us seated below.)

Quick service, good food, great choice!

By Whataview76 |

Was looking for a Thai place by my hotel and found this place. Plenty of counterspace for a single business traveler like myself. Had a beer and some pad thai with spring rolls. All were good, service was prompt but not overly communicative, still happy with my choice to dine here.

Some of the Best Thai I’ve Had

By gentlegiant303 |

This place was recommended by a coworker and we were excited to try it. It was a good choice, as it turned out to be some of the best Thai food we have had. We both ordered Tom Gha soup, which we easily could have shared based on large the bowl was. Crab Cheese Wontons, that were different than I’ve had, but very good. I got garlic shrimp fried rice and my wife got Pad See Ew. Both dishes highly recommended. I’m looking forward to eating here when we return to Portland.

Different style of Thai

By Vinalhaven65 |

Stopped here while in Portland on a business trip. I was wanting comfort food after a long day. The service was very good and the atmosphere busy but cozy. Unfortunately the specific style of preparation of some items was quite different from what I expected (Tom Kha soup was tomato based, and larb salad was served piping hot). I would try this restaurant again if in the area, but would ask detailed questions about specific preparations for each dish.

Can’t Go Wrong!

By Ang723 |

This is the best damn thai food ever. We’ve picked up take out here many times and it never disappoints. I always get green chicken curry and fried spring rolls. So satisfying. It’s close to where we always stay in Portland and the prices are very reasonable especially for the incredible portion. Love this place!

Fresh,Yummy & Consistent!

By Wendy G |

I have had the pleasure of visiting and eating at this restaurant the last few times I was in downtown PDX. So many restaurants in the area have a high rating and this one is true to the list. The food is fresh, consistent and delicious! The service is excellent! A survey is provided with your check . The interior is so cute and has a small upper level. They do a lot of take out as well... If you love Thai Food I highly recommend Thai Peacock! You will not be disappointed .

Delicious!

By Doxlace |

Recommended to us by one of the employees at Powell's Books. It did not disappoint. We were quickly seated and waited on. We ordered the pad thai and some soup that was amazing (can't recall the name now). I also tried one of their iced coffees, and it was delicious too. We will probably eat here again before we end our trip.

Near Powell’s. Don’t miss

By Juli C |

So good. Near Powell’s. We were looking for a place to grab lunch and found the restaurant on a map. A litt walk down one block and yay. So many carry out orders, and busy but service was quick. The food was delicious and the decor poppin.

Saturday Dinner in Portland

By Nancy A |

Thai Peacock, a little gem in P-town. great atmosphere, such delicious food and pretty quick service. We arrived just after 5pm so we'd have time to get to a show. we were done in less than an hour. The restaurant started filling up, and they pack the tables closely....by 6pm. The four of us shared Pad Khi Mao, Peacock Curry and Pad Thai. our favorites were in that order. Pad Thai was a little sweet/tangy but ALL was delicious. We will definitely be back!

Fast, good, cheap

By Christophe_JSB |

Impressive efficiency of the numerous ladies flying around the little place like bees ... and delivering delicious Thai food for an affordable bill.

Two types of curry and two happy bellies

By CarrCoconut |

We were in town one night for a concert & stayed at a hotel nearby. I came across great reviews & Thai Peacock did not disappoint. Nice ambiance. Friendly service and very yummy food. We ordered two types of curry and both opted for the trout (as I had seen recommended)… so good. Extremely flavorful and the right amount of spice for each of us. My boyfriend asked for extra spicy & they delivered.

Authentic Thai food at a reasonable price

By Shirley B |

My husband is Thai and is a fantastic cook so when we eat out Thai we are the worst critics. We often find Chinese food called Thai or Thai food dampened in flavour for the Western pallet. Not so Thai Peacock. Really well cooked Thai food with all the flavour of the country itself. Service was excellent. We had a bit of a wait for a table but we had a cocktail while we waited. The menu was extensive but easy to assemble a dinner for the novice Thai food eater. We would certainly recommend Thai Peacock.

Nice place to have lunch

By Elsa C. L. |

A nice Caucasian lady cared to recommend this restaurant as we were looking at our Portland map. It has outdoor sitting and nice ambience indoor. Service was prompt and quite pleasant! Food presentation is appetizing. Lunch specials are at $12. I would have rated Thai Peacock excellent had the squid in my Seafood (shrimps and mussels were fresh) tasted good. It was served with delicious and healthy red rice, peanut sauce and veggies that were perfectly cooked. My friend who had Seafood Pad Thai also said the squid was not good. My other friend was content with her Khao soi noodles in curry and coconut milk with chicken and bean sprouts. Their clean bathroom even has paper pad for the seat.

Go here food is great

By Lucy L |

We ate here twice on a recent trip to Portland. We didn't reserve a table and got seated within 10mins both times. Service is quick and to the point and the food is to die for loved it both times. The price is reasonable for what you are getting as well we paid $30 for 2 meals and 2 drinks.

Best Thai food ever.

By shakenbaked |

I love Thai food and have eaten it hundreds if not thousands of times from NYC to Bangkok. Thai Peacock is the best that I have had. Every dish is perfect, every time. Amazon delivers now, so it is super convenient.

Family dinner

By melmcc |

We arrived at about 7 PM on a weekend evening. We had tried to make a reservation, but their system does not allow smaller parties to book. We signed in the list when we arrived and waited outside. Our wait was about 10-15 minutes. Once we were seated in the side room our order was placed very quickly and our food came out in hardly any time. I enjoyed the food very much. We ordered chicken Pad Thai, garlic salmon and fried rice (or something similar) it was so good! The prices were very good especially for dinner in the city. It is definitely a great place to eat.

Delicious and cosy

By Stacey |

A gem in Portland. Small restaurant but worth waiting. Good portion sizes and friendly staff. Would return and do recommend.

Excellent Food, Nice Vibe, Service a little rushed

By Anne327 |

Upon arrival (around 6:30pm on a Wednesday), we were lucky to be immediately seated at a table on the upstairs balcony overlooking the first level, which was a fun location. Server quickly came over to take our order (before we'd even looked at menus), so we ordered some drinks to give us time to decide on food. We selected a mixed appetizer, everything was delicious. The server quickly returned with main courses just as we finished the appetizer, whisking away one set of plates and replacing them with the new ones. It felt a little like we were in a speed-eating competition ! The main courses were excellent - my red curry, which I requested extra spicy was perfect - I'm often disappointed that restaurants are afraid too make dishes too spicy - but this one had great heat, while still flavorful. My husband said his Pad Thai was the best he'd ever eaten (and he orders it a lot). Overall, this was a good experience with excellent food and very good value. I would give 5 stars if not for the incredibly rushed service. I get that it's a small place and they want to turn the tables over, but they need to balance that with not making customers feel pushed out the door.

Two-level Thai dining in downtown Portland

By Jim W. |

Our walking tour of Portland concluded at noon on a Monday in Prospect Park. The density of sketchy homeless guys there was sort of high, so we opted to venture a bit further afield for lunch. We had to walk about 6 or 7 blocks away, but it was a nice day so we didn't mind. Thai Peacock is roughly at a corner of a couple of side streets a block or so away from heavier traffic. It is built into a smaller, vertical space. They have some tables (and maybe a bar?) downstairs. Then up a long flight of stairs there is a secondary dining area with 5 - 6 more tables. We were shown upstairs by one of the servers. They were nearly full for lunch. The crowd seemed to be a variety of office workers and perhaps students. They seemed slightly short staffed, but that was not uncommon at the time we visited. Plus, to cut them some slack, the servers had to climb the long stairs to check on us, so that probably limited the number of their visits. Our server brought us some water and took our orders. After a while, our food arrived. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Portions were generous; I managed to finish my Pad Thai, but only as I had no way to store the leftovers. I think some others gave up after finishing most of their dishes. It took a while longer to get the check. It was nice to have some time to relax after all of our morning walking, though. If you are in a hurry, you may want to try for a table downstairs. Otherwise, relax and enjoy your meal upstairs. I liked our lunch here.

Will Not Disappont.

By AmyRN81 |

We choose Thai Peacock based on the recommendation that it worked well for gluten free diners. Everything about our experience was excellent! We got a table outside and had quick service. I had the Evil Jungle Noodles and my friend had a curry after starting with the crab wontons (not GF). The food was excellent!! Such great flavors, generous portions, perfect spice, and perfectly cooked veggies and protein. My only regret is that I love in Arizona and can’t eat here again for a long time. Highly recommend

Great food, nice ambience.

By DS1 |

We were all starving and all four of us enjoyed our meal. Service was friendly and our food arrived quickly!

A great recommendation

By Emma&Lee |

Visited on the recommendation of a colleague. What an absolute delight! The place is great, seated quickly and offered a drink almost immediately. Reviewed menu through QR code but paper versions are available. Ordered the house combo with the intention of having a rice or soup. However just no room and couldn’t quite eat the full combo. Incredible value for what you get. A really good mixture if you like picky food.

Impressive!

By FriendlyTripper |

This restaurant was a good choice when we were visiting the Pearl district. Tasty food, good service, and the cost was reasonable. I would recommend this spot for lunch or dinner.

Impressive Thai

By HumJer |

Absolutely the best Thai we’ve had in Portland… or perhaps ever. Pad Thai is phenomenal and curries can’t be beat. Order the house curry.

Delicious Thai food meal near Powell's Books!

By Wayfer2 |

I decided to try this place since it was close to Powell's Books. I was not disappointed. The seated is limited, but since I was by myself I grabbed a seat at the bar. I ordered the Angel Prawns and that dish was very good. The sauce was tasty and so was the side of peanut sauce. I also ordered a Thai Iced Tea and that was also very tasty. I would definitely come back here again and try something else on the menu!

LOVE

By Izabel75 |

This place had great food, super atmosphere and amazing service ! For Asian food lovers this is the place to go ! We really had a great time here. But I would suggest to reserve... thank you for the great time !

Thai Peacock

Good restaurant and service. The place was busy at it was a Saturday night but good atmosphere and the food was very tasty.

Despite the waiting time, expectations were fully met. Good value food in a small, friendly restaurant. Very large portions...nobody goes home hungry😄👍🏻

Great Thai

Had lovely Pad Thai, Curries, Thai Iced teas and a house special of fried fish. Really tasty and near to Powells!

Good Thai Food in Downtown Portland

By rickh57 |

We went to this restaurant with some friends. The food was tasty, with large portions, though the service was a little slow. I had their panang curry and my wife ate their pad ruam-mit (vegetable stir fry).

Delicious Thai food, great value

By Sara M |

Delicious food, generous portions. There really isn't a mild version of their dishes so beware of that otherwise the flavors are wonderful. A great place to eat family style. They clearly label dishes that are gluten and dairy free, which was important to us. Easy to choose dishes that fit our dietary restrictions.

Very busy fast service

By hawntjam |

Looking for a place to eat found this one. Small location that was turning a lot of table for a Monday night, single diners such as myself seem to get shuffled to a bar rather than table, part of my lower rating. I order Gyoza and Jungle Prince Noodles. Since the Gyoza was an appetizer I expected it to come out early not with the meal. They were well cooked fried not steamed but I had an option. The noodles were stuck together in a lump. With chopsticks extremely hard to eat. I suspect that they were in a hurry cooked the noodles pulled them to drain put them on a plate and tossed sauce on them. I ordered hot and they would be more of a medium so that was good. Not a dish I would order again afraid for another ball of noodles.

Thai yumminess

By Tatude |

We reserved, but if not you have to put your name on a list upon arrival. This place bubbles over in energy and movement serving delicious large portioned plates of tasty dishes. Just be aware that they may bring your main dish before appetizer. All the food arrives at different times......one person gets nothing and the other gets all their order at the same time. For me it takes away the pleasure of each dish, feels rushed. But otherwise a good Portland address.

Delicious Thai food with basic service

By Christophe_JSB |

Go there for the food which is excellent. Don’t expect outstanding comfort or service. Well located downtown.

Excellent food but tight quarters

By timsmith2018 |

The food was delivered quickly, hot and delicious. Service was good. The restaurant is smaller than I expected. I can't go up stairs so I had to remain below so I can speak for the upstairs space. They have tables outside on the sidewalk where you can eat as well. Parking is tight. I paid 5 dollars to park in the lot across the street. You have to punch in your license plate into the automated ticket machine. A friend found a place to park on the street for 1 dollar.

Excellent Thai food

By James S |

Amazing restaurant. Loved the food and I don't think I've ever had quicker service. Not much for atmosphere, but for good food quickly I don't think you can beat it. I had the panang curry and my wife had the mango stir-fry. Both were memorable.

Best Curry in town!

By Gayle M |

This is the 2nd time we ate here! Salad rolls (spring rolls) and the Peacock Curry were delicious - not to mention their Thai tea! Both times I was going to take photos of our meals and both times 1/2 way through devouring my meal, I was like, “Shoots!” LOL Great & quick service. Check them out!

Not good

By Bart Z |

Bland. Boring. Had the papaya salad. Limp, tasteless, no heat, no lime or fish sauce. Peanuts were soggy. Like it was sitting in a tub for a long time. The crispy veggie spring rolls were ok, but no veggies. Plenty of rice noodles inside. The Pad Thai had a good sear on the noodles, plenty of scallions and peanuts, but nothing else. And again, despite asking, no heat. We also had the special Tom Yum Pad Haang. No flavor at all in the non-descript brown sauce. Definitely not a “stir fried Tom Yum” as described. Plenty of seafood, standard veggies and Thai basil. The fried fish was hammered to the point where only one end was edible.Save yourself $28.00 and skip that one. Service was fine.

Best Thai I tasted in years

By Benedict S |

I visited this restaurant after visiting Powell Bookstore, it’s only a block away. Tom Yam was excellent and the Khao Pad Praw was yum yum. Their white rice was cooked with Jasmine. The price is quite pricy in my opinion, but the quality was superb, you can’t put a price on that. The restaurant seems to always full, and lots of people are ordering for take away. Fully recommend this restaurant for Thai food lover

Very Good Thai Food - close to Powells

By David T |

Just happened to walk by this place on the way from my hotel to Powells. Very tasty Thai food, with the right amount of spice (you could taste it but it didn't burn your taste buds to oblivion). Service was very friendly. One thing I really liked was the clear explanation of what was in each dish, which I don't always see in Thai restaurants. They advertise as "Thai comfort food" and I think that is an excellent description.

Excellent

By Graham M |

Went here last night, suggested by staff at the Dossier Hotel as it was first time for us in Portland and we wanted to eat Thai food. Our experience of eating Thai food overseas hasn’t been great as we feel that usually it is “adjusted” for local tastes, however this was not the case at Thai Peacock. Delicious food, friendly staff. Only issue was portions too large, but this seems to be an issue throughout the USA. Well done Thai Peacock.

Best Thai food . Yummy

By SROSE6 |

Every dish was great. Mine was too Spicy. Everyone else was satisfied with their choices. Food comes out hot and yummy.Everything was cooked awesomely.

Yummy Thai Food close to China Town

By Live More, Travel More |

Service was good and quick but the highlight is definitely the food. I got the jungle curry with egg noodle and pork… 10/10 😋. The plate is also big, so I could enjoy this meal twice 🤗.

Awesome Food - Ok Service

By Brandyinlove |

We went to Thai Peacock with a group of people from work on a Thursday evening. There was about 15/18 people in our group. The servers seemed highly annoyed with us, and didn’t check on us often, which is a shame because they could have had many additional drink sales.... but, regardless of the annoyed servers, the food was fantastic!!! The appetizers were scrumptious, as were the main dishes. I don’t believe there was a lick of food left on anyone’s plate. We’ll definitely return, but with a smaller group!

Flavorful

By luvthecarribean! |

Had the braised pineapple pork specialty dish with rice. Very tender. Wonderful flavors! Great service. Casual atmosphere, but would be a great date night. Highly recommend.

Great food, lousy service

By Mrperfect31 |

We went around 3 pm for a late lunch and were really looking forward to it, as we love Thai food and some of our crewmembers were very happy with the food. Our server never introduced herself, brought our food without giving any plates, and did not even bother to pass by during the meal to check if all was ok (which she did with other guests of the same Asian descent. My jungle curry was very tasty but the noodles were 1 big sticky pile of dough. When I informed our server about it, she said there was probably not enough sauce (which there definitely was!) and she asked if I wanted more sauce!!! I politely declined as I had about finished my dish, leaving the noodles for what they were. When not tipping, the person receiving the payment was not looking very happy but never bothered asking if everything had been ok. When leaving the restaurant nobody even bothered to say thank you. That is why Thai Peacock only gets a 2 solely based on the taste of the food!! The Mango iced tea is an absolute must!

Delicious carry out experience!

By mafels |

We enjoyed carry out from Thai Peacock while visiting Portland and our experience was fantastic. The online ordering system was simple and efficient, our order was ready earlier than estimated, pick up was quick and easy (even on a busy Friday night when the restaurant was full), and the food was delicious!

Fabulous Thai Food, one of the best in Portland

By Milestogo007 |

After a very depressing moment in life, I decided to treat myself with Thai food. I had never had the opportunity to eat at Thai Peacock, and now more than ever I needed to give it a try to boost my spirit. I started with the coconut prawn appetizer and followed it up with the main course of egg fried rice and lemongrass chicken. The coconut prawns were amazing. The best I have ever had. There is a sauce they give you which really adds to the flavor. Just amazing! They brought out the egg fried rice and lemongrass chicken and it was fantastic. The rice was moist and perfectly cooked with great flavor, the lemongrass chicken with the peanut sauce was off the charts delicious. I went from depressed to happy in less than an hour. That is how good the food is here at Thai Peacock. I highly recommend eating here. It is located across the street from Dr. Marten shoe store and around the back of the building.

Excellent meal and friendly service

By PaulFromMbro |

Thai Peacock advertises Thai comfort food and I would say that this is a fair assessment. I also appreciated that they have a vegetarian-friendly menu and many choices for a vegetarian. The service was fast, the staff friendly, and the ingredients appropriate and very fresh. Highly recommended for a quick meal if you are nearby.

The best Thai I've ever had!

By mitrathakker91 |

It was my first time in the city, my friend and I were craving Thai food. Thai Peacock didn't let us down. We had a variety of options in vegetarian and the Peacock curry is to die for! We even ordered cocktails and loved the Asian Pear. All in all it was super delicious and very good service as well.

Hit or Miss

By America's Sweetheart |

I went here once in 2016 with my family and I thought it was just about the cat's meow. It had a chic urban vibe, and delicious vegetarian food to match. It blew me away! Fast forward to fall of 2017 and my family and I are hoping for that same excellent Thai food in Portland experience. So we head on over to Thai peacock, which has the same cool aesthetic and plenty of yummy choices (even for vegetarians). We all eagerly await our food, but we are so disappointed when it finally comes out! I normally love spicy food, but I order my food "not spicy" and it is spicy enough to make me lightheaded! Everyone else in my family is having the same experience, and the table next to us agrees! We try to ask the waitress for a less spicy version of our meals and for some unknown reason she can't bring it out! I had 2 polarizing experiences at the Thai Peacock and I don't know what to think anymore, but I don't think it's worth the risk!

Fabulous Tom Kha Soup

By omary51 |

We went here with friends for dinner during Happy Hour. Their $6 Thai mule cocktails were very good and the Tom Kha soup was delicious with tofu. The House Combo plate was disappointing. I'm not a fan of fried pot stickers but other things were good. Next time I'll try the soup and share the Evil Jungle Noodle. Very friendly and helpful waitstaff with fast service. Close to The Armory for pre theatre fare.

Great veggie

By margaret c |

This was a surprise amazing veggie menu and so tasty if it has a down fall the size of the meals are so big couldn't finish it. The cocktails were great as well had the raspberry margaretta so good had two.

Yesssss

By mfbarthe |

Holy cow- yes please. I want to lick the bowl. Khao Soi baby. I can usually tell in the first bite if I am going to love a Thai dish. This did not disappoint. I can't wait to go back. And prices good too! And next time I'm trying the cucumber vodka. I bet that is absolutely perfect with the curry.

Sadly over-priced and underwhelming

By DanielLogan |

While i used to love this place, their prices have risen so much while the serving sizes seem to have gotten much smaller. The kitchen is pretty good but I am not a big fan of paying their prices for what I get. Last time they also forgot my side of rice and the delivery did not notice. Come on!

It's in the coconut

By FamilyTraveler092 |

The food was basic, a little bland for Thai cuisine. But eating outside made up for most of the drawbacks until they got a delivery of supplies toward the end of our meal! The boxes were safely placed just inside the front window as normal. There was just one problem: The label said: "CHAOKOH COCONUT MILK". Just look up the very recent PETA report on it and you will know why our experience was spoiled the moment we saw those boxes. Every time we look at the photos I took of the receipt and the window with those coconut boxes, we wish we hadn't eaten there... [I wished those boxes were for some other Thai restaurant, but there was no other restaurant, Thai or otherwise, anywhere nearby that would need that much coconut milk.]

Real Deal

By Snake80 |

This place is comfort food. Very friendly and good service. Food was amazing! Close to Powell books so you can walk....although lots of street dwellers so be careful.

Excellent Thai food!

By renzobrothers |

Great Thai food! We had just arrived to Portland and this was one of the recommendations that was near our hotel. We ordered the crab cream cheese wontons, house Thai peacock curry with rice. Super delicious, very authentic with lots of flavor. Place does get very busy (6:30pm) but they are efficient with moving tables in/out.

Excellent Thai food in Portland

By UsaLiketoTravel |

Excellent food! Every dish that we ordered was incredible. The garlic fried rice, garlic shrimps, matsamman curry with trout were to die for! Would definitely make it again!

Delicious

By Funtimes522 |

Stopped by here on a Sunday to have a relaxed lunch. They have outside seating and the food is so good. Great service too.

Very tasty

By doankd |

All of the food we had was delicious! The service was great and sitting by the window offered up some great people watching and views of the downtown area.

Great food!

By capVN |

Was able to take my husband there on one of my recent visits to Portland. He loved the food as much as I have. A real treasure! Their Blackberry Margarita is the best!

Yummi

By Pippisin |

Great food and service. Both vegetarian and meat meal was very tasty. Lot of people, good atmosphere. We did not pre-book table, and had to wait maybe 10 minutes to get a table.

Great food

By MeraKi25 |

I had the Massamun curry with veggies, which was fantastic. This place gets docked a star because the bartender wasn’t friendly, made my drink way too strong and didn’t ask how things were, and it really felt like she was talking about me with the staff, which is never a good feeling. This place is also located across the street from a homeless encampment.

Good food with some fun twists

By Dmc0221 |

Offers unique twists on Thai favorites. I had basil fried rice with crispy trout. It was very good. There are specials for food and drinks. The cocktails were large. Really enjoyed this meal. One thing to be aware of: this is a small space. They do have a good wait list system but very little waiting room and the main dining area stays chilly this time of year with folks coming and going. Prepare for this and you will be happy and full!

Very small seating but the good food is worth it.

By Manish N |

4 stars because it is a very small seating area and you are not allowed to sit at the "bar" even though there's tons of stools. The service is so quick though that the wait isn't a big deal. I did not have to wait but they have a system that is noted fairly prominently. Ordered the Pad Se-Ew with Scallops. Really tasty. Good portion. Skip the post meal mint that comes with the receipt.

Awesome takeout

By Paulguay |

Visiting family and got takeout for dinner. Got a variety of about 12 items, everything was fantastic and delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Try it you’ll love it.

Lovely little Thai place

By Bunmi A |

I have fallen in love with Thai food and decided to try the Thai Peacock. The ambiance of the restaurant is really nice. Happy hour had some good stuff and I ate the pineapple yellow curry with shrimps. They had a really “healthy rice” side which consists of jasmine and red rice and something else. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Would definitely go back.

Consistency !

By Christophe_JSB |

I take food away from this place almost every second day and i must say quality is very consistent. Service is extremely busy so they haven’t time to chat and being super friendly but that’s fine.

Excellent food and service

By Jake J |

My wife and I ate here while in Portland on business. All of our dishes were very tasty. We were seated in a loft area up a long flight of stairs and I was impressed at the athleticism of the wait staff in traversing the stairs so often and so quickly.

Very nice neighborhood Thai restaurant

By Teri T |

Great food, nice folks, quick service and reasonable prices! We dine here frequently and also take out...quality is consistently good.

Excellent Authentic Thai Food

By MB M |

I love Thai food and this small restaurant has some of the best Thai food I have ever had. The service is a bit slow but it's all worth the wait !

Cashew nut with Chicken stir fry is very good

By Larry R |

I have this almost every week! I also had one of their curry dishes which was pretty good. It can be pretty crowded and counter is a bit crowded if you have a book or iPad. Still service is prompt food is excellent. Sometimes there is a line, especially if you want a table.

Wonderful food

By 83problems |

We had a great meal. Very efficient service. Crowded, but cheerful staff. The dishes were hot and beautifully prepared, not too large.

Fresh and flavorful!

By AcbSeattle |

Had salad rolls with shrimp, and Chicken/Shrimp Phad Thai. I eat a decent amount of Thai food, and this was some of the best I have had. Everything tasted extremely fresh and had great flavor. I got it to go, but the atmosphere is great here also.

Good Vegan Thai Food

By Dan M |

I bought the Evil Jungle Noodles because of the name, and was not disappointed. They were unique, weird, delicious, and quite spicy! There are many clearly labeled vegan options, and I would love to return sometime to try more unique dishes.

Fantastic food

By GinaWill |

Found this place by accident on a walk around Portland but very glad we did! I would advise the Thai peacock combo starter, masaman curry and sticky rice. Friendly staff and worth a visit for lunch.

Great Thai food and worth going

By LMA2214 |

We ordered this from Grub Hub while staying in downtown Portland. The Tom Kha soup, Spring Rolls as well as the Pad That were all great. The Crab Rangoon was soggy but probably due to delivery versus eating in. I would definitely recommend eating at Thai Peacock.

Delicious and fresh

By Lisa S |

The food was delicious, flavorful, and fresh. The service was great. They were busy and still very quick. I can’t wait to go back!

Worth A Visit

By Wilton2 |

Arrived at 5 pm without a reservation and was seated OK. Service was quick and efficient. We were a table of 2 and started with the sharing platter. Delicious. We followed this with an entree each. However, these arrived before we were even half way through our starter. This was disappointing. However, food was very tasty and portions were large - too large. Would recommend.

Bad service

By Happy Pines |

Was in town visiting for few days and this restaurant was near the hotel so we walked there on a Sunday night around 8pm. It was pretty full & busy, about 80-90%. We walked in, lots of waitresses there but no one were helping us, so we stood there for about 5 min and finally one of them asked “how many?” We only had 2 people and they ask to sit on a 2 person small table by the front door. I asked if we can sit somewhere else because it was cold & windy. Clearly there were other tables are available but they refused. So then we just walked out and went else where. I understand they are busy but come on, no choices where we can sit? Well, we definitely have choices to take our patronage elsewhere.

Gem of a find

By Karla V |

Yup, I love to find the small places tucked away where there is a constant steady flow of patrons. I don’t love Thai food as some dishes are just HOT lacking flavor. The Peacock is cute, busy, sophisticated yet plenty on flavor. In the 50 minutes we were there tables turned over quickly as the food comes out fast, great for those needing a quick bite or grabbing a pick up /takeout order. We enjoyed a curry noodle dish with prawns and it was tasty yet filled with heat, but not the kind that stays with you... just kept me wanting more. The coconut prawns with pineapple sauce and the goyza were also good. They have a unique soy dip. My dirty martini actually came out perfect (and on the rocks as requested). You won’t be disappointed.

One of the top Thai restaurants in the Portland area

By David L |

Had the Pad Se-Ew, Tom Kha soup, and salad rolls and all were excellent! Often the salad rolls at Thai restaurants are mediocre, but these were quite tasty. Loved the wide noodle dish, Pad Se-Ew.

Delish!

By Katie C |

Grabbed lunch at Thai Peacock and found it the perfect quick stop for great food. We sat on the sidewalk, but the inside of the restaurant was very nice. and ordered Peacock Curry with chicken and Pad Thai with tofu, both were super good. The lunch menu had great prices and perfect portions. The service was quick and very friendly. We would highly recommend Thai Peacock!

Hip & authentic.

By diverguy |

This is an intimate restaurant with excellent food, casual service, and sophisticated decor. Full bar with interesting coctails.

Excellent Food

By PlanetR |

Enjoyed coconut prawns, chicken satay with peanut sauce, and shrimp peacock curry. The server didn't bring the rice until we asked, otherwise a 5 star review. Funky little place with a following...based on the crowd for a Monday night. Priced reasonably.

Tasty Thai

By SasH |

Great place with two levels. Food was delicious, I asked for extra spicey and it was terrific. Portion sizes are good and the service was easy going. Would go again.

Try the pad thai with fried trout!

By Magan Y |

This place was near Powells City of Books and near our hotel (Courtyard). We were ready for something a little different to eat so popped in for a lite dinner. We shared the sampler appetizer and the pad thai with fried trout, recommendations from the waitress. The food was good and the fried trout was excellent! Not my usual choice in a Thai restaurant but an excellent choice for this restaurant.

Love this place

By Tim_Phoenix_AZ |

This is the first restaurant I visited in Portland and I try to eat here every time I visit. Stumptown. I loved the location and the food.

Fast, cheap, and delicious!

By Emma W |

I went on a Friday at around 12:30 and waited maybe 3 minutes to get seated. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and brought water and took my order right away. The food came out hot and quickly and was really delicious, some of the best Thai I've had! There was always someone around to bring the check and make sure everything was ok. Not only was it great food and atmosphere but also a very efficient and cost effective meal!

Great dinner

By auddie88 |

Stopped in for dinner and grabbed one of the last open tables. Food was very fresh and served steaming hot. Prices were also extremely reasonable. There are a ton of Thai restaurants in the city but so glad we chose this place.

Got fried trout plate to go. Excellent quality. Order online a snap. This tasted like a 40 dollar meal for Only 20 bucks.

Fantastic service, generous portions!

By TraveliStar |

Went there about 3-4 times during my trip, the team is so nice and attentive. Made great suggestions. Soups are out of this world!

Nice dinner!

By GMII P |

Just arrived in Portland and looking for good Asian food, we weren’t disappointed. We arrived around 8.30pm and had to wait 15 mins for a table. The food was great and the service quick and efficient. Would recommend.

Excellent small Thai place near Powells

By Victor S |

This small place has excellent Thai food - a great place for lunch downtown. I particularly like their green and yellow curries.

Soggy Pad Thai Soupy Larb etc

By WestsideChuck |

We visited this place since our son raved about this place. The ambiance is nice and the location great if you are visiting the Powell’s Book store. However, the food was pretty disgusting. The only dish that was decent was the stir fried pumpkin dish and the simple Thai fried rice. The pad Thai was soggy with a sweet sauce, the larb we had seemed to have more shallots than chicken. The absolute most perplexing was the chicken satay which was dry and tasted like it was cooked in the microwave. I should have stuck to my instinct and avoided an Asian restaurant that seems to sell a bit of hard liquor. Maybe this place was having an off night. I peaked into the kitchen and saw 6 persons. But this is Portland so there are probably 20 or so better Thai options to choose.

Good enough to go the next night

By Quigg L |

My wife and I are foodies but did not want to blow $125-150 on dinner. We googled hard and discovered this gem of a restaurant in the Pearl District. Incredible Pad Thai with salmon. Glory it is good! I ordered my hot. Lot the gringo beware the heat of Thai hot! My wife ordered fried rice with crispy trout. Also, very good. The amount of crust was a bit overboard but the fish was tasty. Wife had a designer drink - the Blow Monkey - which is a take of on the “Cool As A Cucumber” drink. Servers were very polite and helpful. My Buffalo Trace had too much water and ice in it and they gladly replaced it. Highly recommended *Only negative if you choose to dine outside is the conclave of young street people who apparently live, sleep and void across the street and down about 20 yards. This city needs a great Rescue Mission like Roanoke, VA

Tasty but slightly quirky Thai

By Julie L |

Lovely space, good vibe, not huge but decent size. The food was tasty but a weird take on Thai with both the fish and chicken dishes we ordered being crumbed and fried. Reasonably priced.

Excellent menu & service

By Tammy W |

On a business trip & staying in d/t Portland. I was looking for a walkable dinner location & I’m a bit of a foodie. This restaurant did not disappoint. Nice atmosphere & they have a small bar seating area perfect for a single person to dine. In general, menu is not mainstream Thai (although there are typical items you can find anywhere), which is what I liked. Excellent fusion of flavors. The owner served me as she was manning the bar area. Friendly service. Will definitely go back.

‘Modern Thai’

By Mark C |

The menu was on the side of eclectic with combinations and items I had not previously sampled or experienced together. After hiking Hamilton Mountain we needed to refuel. The Gyoza’s were tasty and perfectly crisp. The Chicken Larb was delightful; great balance of flavors coming through. The real winner was the Pad Thai with Crispy Trout. Wow, heavenly. The lime sauce was an awesome accompaniment. The Red Seafood Curry was okay. Limited selection of beer and wine. Service was nonchalant, ambivalent if we were there or not. It was Memorial Monday so perhaps staff was tired.

Delicious place to go with family or friends

By Diane Cori G |

The food was the best Thai food I have had in a long time. We don’t get to Portland often but I was glad that we chose this restaurant. There were lots of perfectly cooked vegetables in my dish and the flavors were just as I like. I don’t like Thai food that is too hot so it was great that we got to choose how hot we wanted it.

Good food, nice atmosphere

By yarivwc |

I was dining alone on the bar. Had Po-Pia Thot (egg rolls), Tom-Kha soup (hot and sour coconut milk soup), and for main dish Thai Peacock seafood curry. All was very tasty. Would like to come back one day with my wife.

Good food, good prices

By lrwmom |

We ate at Thai Peacock tonight for dinner. The place is small but service was good. We had coconut shrimp and goyza and each had massumen curry for our entree. Everything was quite tasty. Our food came out quickly and nice and hot. Overall a good meal.

Quick fresh service, great taste.

By Voyager582973 |

Get there before 6.30 pm to get table as queues start from then on. Fresh delicious food. Good options, gluten and vegan included.

Locally Recommended, Delicious

By Emily V |

Thai food is one of my all time favorite cuisines, and so when a local recommended Thai Peacock during my trip to Portland, I was eager to give this place a try. I'm so glad I paused to chat with the local barista and got this recommendation. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the green curry with tofu: My go-to dish. Fantastic. I've ordered this dish from many different establishments, and this place ranks among the best. The establishment itself is cozy and cute. The staff were helpful and quick. There was a short wait before we were seated: That's what happens when a place is good. If I'm ever in Portland again, I'll go back for sure.

Wicked good!

By MrNjorl |

Stopped in while walking around Portland. Small two level venue, about 15 tables. Food is superb. Highly recommend the crispy trout, even if you don’t normally go for fish. Very fast service.

Nice food

By Ali Soliman |

I enjoyed the meal here, the atmosphere was good and the service is excellent, prices are reasonable too... good selection of dishes, will visit again.

Tasty Thai Food

By Norman M |

Thai Peacock is one of the best Thai restraurant's that I have been to outside of Thailand. We loved it so much, we ate here three times during our two week stay. I had the special which was a fried trout on top of a bed of sauteed seafood. Everything wa fresh and the sauce was delcious! We tried a few different items on the menu and they were all just as good. While the food was spectacular, I have to say that the drinks were probably the low point. They are served in plastic cups and are not really anything special from the ones we had. If they were to up their bar game, it would really be something special.

Fantastic Find

By Beverley G |

We stumbled across this restaurant while walking around one evening. The food was delicious, I would definitely return if I go back to Portland.

$14.50 for the weakest pad thai I've ever had (that includes the midwest of the US). Pick up your game or drop the prices.

Delicious Thai food

By HelzoP |

Yummy food, great service and good price. Clean plates all round and we went back the next evening as food was so delicious!

Good thai curries

By Mrs_Vivante |

This place would be a great choice for vegetarians & vegans. A very cute and busy place in downtown Portland. If you're eating here, I would recommend ordering their curries rather than noodles. I feel like they don't do a good job with their noodles. A must try curry is the one with mango! The portions are big and you'll definitely be walking out with to go boxes. The servers arent very warm and friendly and won't help you much with recommendations.

Solid choice for Thai

By myklrl |

Nice place with quick service, decent prices, and the standard Thai offerings. Was about what we expected. Kid friendly and decent portion sizes. A solid choice for Thai food in downtown.

Delicious!

By Joumana K |

Try the crab wontons and vegetable spring rolls! Great spot, fast service, and tasty cocktails. We stopped by without a reservation on a Friday, and had no trouble finding seating.

Food was good!

By pdxtrvl |

We tried this place - I will say the food was very good - delicious... we'd go back! The service was attentive (although, they tend to let guests wait at the front door for a while... don't be surprised if you have to wait). With that said, by all means this place is a nice spot.

Delicious and Fast

By TravellDad |

Dropped in on Saturday night for dinner. We were seated immediately. The menu had great options for vegetarian/vegans. We started with the vegan egg rolls and tofu salad rolls which were amazing, fresh and perfect. We followed up with Veggie Tom Yum soup and Tofu Pad Thai and Veggie Matsaman. Every thing was delicious. The special drinks were fun and tasty as well. The service was fast so even on a Saturday night we didn’t have to wait long. Would definitely go back!

Yay for Thai comfort food!

By Malishka101 |

Yay for Thai comfort food! Fast service, large portions, gluten free options, not greasy, very affordable and lots of flavor!

Wonderful Thai Food

By LonestarSpartan |

We had a great dinner at Thai Peacock. The place is larger than it appears when you first walk in. We sat at a table in the side room. The service was great and the food was delivered quickly. We started with the Prawns which came right from the fryer. I had the Matsaman Curry with Crispy Trout. What an unusual combination, but it was delicious. My wife ordered the Garlic Rice and Shrimp. The rice was very flavorable as was the Shrimp. The only negative comment I have is that the restaurant has a slightly bad smell that hits you when you walk in the door. Overall, a great meal with great service. Would definitely recommend this for authentic Thai cuisine.

The best Thai we have ever eaten

By UVA1988 |

Everything about our experience was fantastic. The server was prompt and very helpful with any questions that we had about the menu. The food was the best Thai that my wife and I have ever had. The portions were large and very filling. We had an early dinner on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was already filled by 6:15pm. If you visit Portland and want Thai, please go to Thai Peacock.

Delicious and Flavorful Food

By TheExplorerFamily |

Our hotel staff recommended this place for dinner, and since it was about a ten-minute walking distance from there, we decided to give it a try. Also, a quick online check ensured that they had one of the dishes my family wanted. We were greeted very nicely when we entered. Our first impression was that the front room was very small, but after grabbing some menus, she led us through part of the kitchen into a much larger back room. She gave us a little time to look through the large menu and was very helpful as we had a few questions. We settled on vegetarian Spring Rolls for Appetizer. Then got 4 Main dishes – Crispy Chicken with Pad Thai, Crispy Trout on Pad Thai, Tofu and Vegetables in a Spicy sauce and Vegetarian Red Curry. We also got some Thai Basil fried Rice to share. Our Mango Margaritas were delicious and paired well with the tasty food. Prices were reasonable for a touristy area. Portions were large, so we had a lot of leftovers for the following day. The Staff is polite and efficient. We will have no hesitation in returning here on our next visit.

Not quite as good this time!

By LaurieB980 |

We went to Thai Peacock on Christmas Eve (per our custom of Thai or Chinese food that evening), and had to wait a bit as it was very busy being about the only Thai restaurant open that evening that we found. Our food came quickly after we were able to order after a medium wait time, and the staff were trying their best to keep up. We had a curry dish as well as the Pad Thai, our usual dish to order, and both were good. The chicken satay appetizer wasn't quite as flavorful as in the past. Everything was good, just not quite what it's been when they weren't so rushed. We'll be back to try again at some future date, however.

Fab Thai Restaurant

Really busy at the weekend but worth going to. Quick turn around so the wait is not too long. Food is amazing, tasty and cheap. Went twice, would have gone every night but ran out of time! They do take out.

Catering

By Max Archer |

Thai Peacock is amazing! Excellent food with great prices and outstanding service. I've been in to the restaurant several times and also used them to cater a small event (40 guests). The General Manager was always very attentive and helpful, responding to the myriad of emails I sent with questions and changes to the order. I'd highly recommended Thai Peacock for a meal or to cater your next event!

Charming, bohemian vibe

Setting was small and hip. Not too fancy. Fast service. Amazing flavors! Ask for the condiment box to try the hot chili oil and others. Highly recommend.

Great food at good prices

By Clare W |

As Europeans travelling in the US we tend to feel pretty stung by the price of eating out here but this was great value, delicious food. We had a dinner of two appetisers, two large mains, and a glass of wine for $60 all in, tax and 20% tip included. The food came promptly and tasted very fresh. Would definitely recommend.

Will eat here again for sure, next time I need a quick break from shopping at Powell's. Very good but very spicy. Will return next time we're in town.
