Great dinner

By Trent B |

We visit Thai Topaz alot. The wait staff is friendly and the food is good. I especially like their summer rolls and spring rolls. Their yellow curry is fantastic.

Best Place for Thai!

By TallyHoHoHo |

Hidden gem off of 410. Food is always fresh and perfect. The Rangoon's are beautiful and delicious...Delicate bites of YUM! You can get anything prepared vegan or as spicy or mild as you like, which is helpful for our out-of-town guests. David, the owner is easy to work with. He's done catering for many of our events and the food is always delivered hot and gets rave reviews.

Elegant and delicious

By Bill C |

I love this place. The ambiance is elegant but comfortable and casual. The staff is genuinely friendly and service is excellent. The food is exceptional with many unique menu items. I am addicted to the Spicy Mango Delight. I return to Thai Topaz often and am never disappointed.

Great Little Gem!

By SAPhotogal |

New restaurant, familiar location. This restaurant is fairly new at this location. It's charm is fresh vegetables and fruits used in the food preparation. Menu offers appetizers, soups, salads, entrees and dessert. Entrees allow for diner's choice of meat/tofu and level of spiciness. There are gluten free and vegetarian choices. Fruit teas and a moderate wine list, including a Prosseco choice that is pleasant and affordable, are offered.. Service was prompt and very customer friendly. Freshly prepared and delicious food, served in a small, charming well lit space made our dinner most pleasant .The music was pleasantly eclectic, yet not intrusive. Fresh ginger made each course we chose delicious! Our server, Victoria, made our first dining experience at the Thai Topaz very enjoyable, and we are looking forward to returning to sample some of the other menu choices!

Favorite place for Thai

By cam w |

The newer Thai Topaz in Castle Hills is a great addition to a neighborhood with a lot of great restaurants. The service is quiet and unobtrusive. The atmosphere lends itself to conversation and enjoyment. Everything on the ever expanding menu has satisfied. The spice level is a perfect balance of heat and flavor. While the pad Thai is hard to turn down, i usually opt for the Penang. The coconut comes through in every bite. I am very happy the Thai Topaz opened in Castle Hills and will continue to frequent as often as possible.

Does the job but does not meet all expectations

By paparam |

Went this evening with the spouse and her brother. Had a Groupon hence chose this place. On a hump day evening it was not terribly busy. We were seated right away and our drink orders taken as we pulled our chairs in. Just two hot green teas . Glasses of water too. The person who took our meal orders was someone different. He was polite, not a great talker but did the job. Our orders were put in: summer rolls and papaya salad (heat level 2) for starters and spicy mango with chicken (heat level 2), basil chicken fried rice (heat level 4) and basil chicken stir fry (heat level 4) The appetizers arrived first. A plus for offering us chopsticks (declined) The summer rolls were good, the papaya salad very good- they got the sour, sweet, heat in the right proportions, not too fishy. The spicy mango was good, right level of spice. The basil fried rice was too mild and level 4 heat requested had been ignored. Some chicken chunks were large- not uniform in size. The basil chicken strip fry was milder than I anticipated- next time will try heat level 5. The sauce was watery but tasty. Did not order any dessert. Total bill came to about $ 50 prior to Groupon. I will give this a try again. Want to test out Tom Yum, Beef salad and a whole fish dish.

Very good! Nice atmosphere! Waitstaff was very helpful and attentive! Good menu with reasonable pricing. Full bar. I recommend this restaurant for Thai cuisine.

Sufficiently Pleased

By Immyness |

Thai Topaz is one our family favorites. The family-owned restaurant is delicious, with love cooked into every bite! I love that they have paper tablecloths allowing children a time to be interactive and creative! This week is part of the Restaurant Week in San Antonio and I am happy to post about my meal. I opted for the three course meal, selecting the chicken satay, redfish, and coconut custard. Each course was uniquely seasoned and balanced. Every bite was fresh and delightful. I also included a cucumber martini with chili rim to please my pallet. Hands down, they never disappoint!

Refused to accept Groupon for takeout

By Steve S |

I have eaten at this restaurant at least twice a month for more than 5 years. Covid precautions have eliminated in restaurant dining for almost a year. Was very surprised when my Groupon was refused for a take out order. No restrictions Stated on Groupon. Wondering if the owner knows this is happening in front of house?

Good Thai food at a reasonable price

By Divascribe2 |

I have lunch here with a social group every month, and it's great food with quick service at a reasonable price. I normally go for the pad thai, but there are plenty of other offerings, including vegetarian. I've never had a bad meal here, or heard any of my friends complain.

My Favorite neighborhood Thai place

By bschraitle |

I'm crazy for their crazy noodle dish. I't their take on drunken noodles. Very convenient to the near north Side of San Antonio. This is a very good choice for Thai food in this area. It has my stamp of approval

Great Thai

By Teresamea |

Love the red curry here. Menu is Thai...just Thai, unlike so many others that mix Thai and Chinese menu items. Casual but nice atmosphere. Service quick and friendly. A new neighborhood favorite.

Quality Ambiance and Healthy Food

By bobemac |

This was our first visit to the brand new Thai eatery on NW Military Dr. They are three months old and David the owner has spent three years learning the business at his in-law's Thai Topaz on Huebner Road. Nathan was our server and he did a fine job. He was very helpful. My BW claims their Pad Thai is the best in town. It comes with rice noodles which is great for folks trying to limit their gluten. They have several gluten-free items on the menu as well. The summer rolls were tasty and they came with a mild peanut sauce. We had the shrimp, but we discovered afterwards that they are two $$ more than the veggie version. My 4 level Panang curry was a bit mild. I could have added chili sauce, one of four sauces that arrived with our meal. This is a great curry with lots of chicken slices, peanut pieces, basil, and red peppers. There's also lots of coconut milk and some lime leaves. What more could you want: a very classy restaurant, a good location, good food, a relaxed ambiance, a good server, and an involved owner. That's the new Thai Topaz in Castle Hills.

Decor lovely, food not that great

By daisylouwho |

I LOVE peanut sauce, I am capable to making it myself. Was excited to order Pad Thai with peanut sauce. It was a sauce, and it had chopped peanuts in it but it was not like any peanut sauce I've ever had in a Thai restaurant. I ordered extra thinking I just didn't have enough sauce, but no, it was just a very thin sauce not made with peanuts but with added chopped peanuts., if that makes any sense. Perhaps it is regional preference but not what I expected. My kids were with me and generally they like Thai food but they didn't care for what they had.

"Healthy Fine Thai Food"

By Izbrand |

Serene, modern decor makes you want to linger over the healthy fine Thai food. The appetizer of shrimp summer rolls infused with the flavors of cilantro and mint is accompanied by a light peanut sauce is pure heaven! My favorite entrees (so far, because I plan to return many times) are the Crazy Spicy Noodles, Spicy Mango Delight and the Pad Thai. The owner David is always gracious and the servers friendly and attentive. The last time we were there, the restaurant added the option of ordering brown instead of white rice plus introduced a number of delicious, health-benefiting, herbal teas to the menu. Thai Topaz is a wonderful addition to the many great restaurants in Castle Hills. Word is getting around quickly so try out this new restaurant now and beat the crowds that are sure to come.

Lunch date with hubby

By Heather T |

Totally enjoyed the red curry and vegetable plate on lunch menu... starter soup was great, too! Highly recommend!

Great Thai taste.... well, almost great!

By SergioLubezky |

Service was excellent, friendly, accurate, fast and attentive. We were there for lunch and we ordered one lunch special and one dinner plate. The entrees were very good. Not pipping hot but warm enough not to send them back for reheating. It was a nice gesture to get a free soup with the dinner entree, but the soup was very disappointing, a vegetable soup more related to a hospital meal than to a thai restaurant. Probably it was like my late grandmother´s chicken soup: It would not heal but it would not kill either. The brown rice was very good and the taste of the actual thai dishes excellent.

Wonderful

By LadyTravellingLight |

High quality Thai cuisine. We really enjoyed the Emerald Salmon in a coconut milk sauce with tamarind, avocado and asparagus. Summer roll a nice light starter. We celebrated the delicious dinner with scrumptious dessert. Wait staff was prompt, friendly and helpful. We've visited several times in the past year and always been pleased. Prices reasonable too!

Average food and service. Very good decor.

By Mohsman |

My group and I were not impressed with the food and service here. It wasn't bad, it was that that it was inconsistent. One entree was very good, bit the remainder were just o.k., as was the service. The Summer Rolls were good, while the Shrimp Parcels were a bit greasy. My wife ordered pot stickers as her entree and they arrived with the entrees...at room temperature. So, while we all had our food, there was a wait while they remade hers. The Tom Kha soup was disappointing (two of had it and agreed) - not great tasting. On a good note, the Panang Curry was very good. We went here because my son had been here twice before and liked it. Even he agreed it was not as good as before. Perhaps they were having a bad night.

Great food, atmosphere, and service

By Sarah_Nike |

We brought the kids to celebrate their awesome report cards and let them try more Thai food. They liked it! The only thing I would recommend is that if you like spicy, get level 4 or 5. Level 2 wasn't even spicy enough for my 8 year old, and neither was level 3, which was my food. The atmosphere was good, and they even turn the lights down when it gets later in the evening to set the mood for people on dates. The place was very clean too. Definitely recommend!

Worth the visit

By David P |

I held a recent business meeting / dinner at Thai Topaz in Castle Hills and I was very glad I did. They offer several spacious and private tables that are great for intimate meals or business meetings. The staff enjoyed the food and the experience and we got a lot accomplished too. I highly recommend it.

Yummy Lunch!

By TravelingTallys |

I've eaten at this location twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. I love that they allow you to dictate the level of spiciness when you order. I tend to like spicy foods so I ordered level 4 (scale of 1-6) and it was perfect. The place is clean and decorated in a minimal, contemporary theme. The service has been good and the food absolutely delicious. If you have room left, I highly recommend the ice cream. I've tried the coconut and the mango and LOVED them both!

Nice

By Judy C |

Thai Topaz sits on a major road in a small suburban city not 5 minutes from the San Antonio airport. You would never know there was a huge city surrounding this neighborhood eatery. Yes, it is very much a neighborhood favorite that has devotees from across the city. The Mango Chicken is what I go for. It is delicious and can be prepared to any level of spicy you like. The spring rolls and Pad Thai are also wonderful. The most amazing thing about Thai Topaz is the service. Warm, friendly people who greet you as a friend.

Excellent Thai food!

By DoubleOIncognito |

Was conducting business nearby and had a craving for some Thai food and finding this place was not a disappointment! The restaurant is very clean and well kept, the food was absolutely delicious and we arrived at lunch and the prices were unbeatable... literally, I've never seen this caliber of food served for such a great value. The only lacking area of this visit was in service, not the speed of service or anything, because that was fine, but the friendliness of our waitress. The host (I assume to be the owner or manager) was supremely kind and hospitable, but our waitress must've been having a bad day because I don't think she smiled once and barely even looked at us when taking our orders or anything and she almost scoffed at us when we asked questions about the menu. So, my overall visit would be 5 stars, but the waitress pulled me to end on a 4-star.

Yumm

One of the best thai tastes i ever had. Portions arent huge but the taste and quality of ingredients are absolutely amaizing. Hoping for brown rice to be available.

Very nice experience

By an0nym0us444 |

I have eaten their twice, and both times the food and staff have been excellent! First of all they have nice luncheon menu, and you can specify the level of "heat" you would like in your selection. They also have several dishes that concentrate on veggies, and are not at all heavy. Staff is very attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and attractive, and they have private rooms for group lunch meetings.

We’ll be back!

By Gretchen Ruth |

We visited here during Culinaria Restaurant Week - whoa! Very impressed. We are going to put Thai Topaz on our list of favorite local restaurants. Andrew makes the best mango margarita in the world (and he’s an excellent waiter too). The food is impressive. Every. Presentation. Is. Beautiful. The sauces were perfect. As my husband said, “you can judge a restaurant by it’s sauces”. We had the beer battered shrimp, Texas red fish in a spectacular sauce, and the a fried ice cream plus a Jack Daniels custard. Thank you, Thai Topaz for getting us here via Restaurant Week. We look forward to coming back. And we’re going to ask for Andrew.

The 'Go To' place for Thai

By jansonatrip |

Pad Woon Sen is my usual fave at Thai Topaz but this time I tried the TT Sampler plate available at Happy Hour. It was delicious! Just enough! We love the comfortable setting, linen napkins, and live orchid on the table.

Perfect Thai with attentive service & reasonable prices

By scullisn |

A quick 15 minute drive from our hotel in San Antonio Arrived early for reservations & seated promptly Wife had margarita & I had Thai 75 We were early enough for happy hour pricing & literally had one of every appetizer offered a one dollar off each While planning to have main courses, we found ourselves quite full, & bill only $62 We wife is in rapture over this place

Another solid dining experience

By David P |

I had another excellent dinner tonight at Thai Topaz. My Chicken Pad Thai was excellent. Victoria, the server was friendly and attentive. I continue to recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I love Thai food

By Kilraen |

My wife and I love Thai food and decided to give Thai Topaz a try when we saw it Saturday evening. What a great culinary surprise! Great wait staff and superb food ❤️❤️!! They will also cook each dish to different levels of spicy heat to suit each diner. WE WILL BE BACK!!

The best Thai I've had in San Antonio!

By Emeralddragon2 |

Ran across this while looking for a place to have lunch. What a great choice! Hidden but worth finding!! The food was phenomenal and the service was great! Will definitely come back!

Overpriced. Overrated.

By foode217 |

Pork curry comes with rice. Asked for pan fried noodles instead. For a charge, they would do so. Well, I got overcooked mushy rice noodles (not pan fried) for my trouble. I was the only customer so it wasn't an inconvenience. $15 for a crummy meal and glass of water. McDonald's does better at 1\3 the price!

Wonderful food and service

By Lv2rdtrip |

My friend and I came to Thai Topaz for dinner. Service: perfect. Not too pushy, but perfectly attentive Atmosphere/Décor: simple and elegant Food: I had the Spring rolls as an appetizer, lightly fried, not greasy at all. I ordered the Pad Thai and my friend a mango, rice entrée (sorry forgot the name). You can request spiciness on a 1-5 scale with 1 being mild and 5 thai hot. I ordered it with a 1 and it was not spicy at all. I think I will be brave and order a 2 or a 3 next time. but if you don't like spicy, don't worry if you ask for mild, you will get mild. Their lychee infused wine was light and refreshing, simply delicious! overall, it was a great experience with great food and good value and I will be coming back many times.

Oops foreign object in the food

By tom p |

I ordered takeout for my daughter and Me(9-16-2015). She was eating a spring roll and crunched down on something really hard. I thought she broke a tooth. It looked like a small Pebble. She found another one a little later before she chomped down on it.

Groupon purchase or else

By Sp435 |

This was a gift from my wife or else I would have never stepped in here. First time - they said 25 minutes wait then 45 minutes wait (I clearly saw the owner nodding the wait staff) aka don’t seat them. Second time - the food was sub par (compared to other Thai places in SA). It’s very “Americanized” and the actually flavor of the food is lost. I have to go again bcoz of Groupon but I would not go here after.

Highly recommend

By Janet S |

I went with a group of friends in a meet up group to dinner here. First time trying this place and Thai food. Quite a few had been here before and love it and now I do to. The presentation of the food was great and so was the taste. I decided to get the chicken Pad Thai level 2 and it was delicious. Their happy hour selection was really good with some creative cocktails. We had great service with Kristin and even with a large group she kept it all together and got all of our bills correct. That rarely happens. The owner came out and spoke to us and gave us a history of the family owned restaurant which we enjoyed. I will be back.

Had wonderful food and drinks - everything was delicious. Loved my Moscow Mule! The staff was very friendly and it was priced well. Can’t wait to go back.

Wasn't my shade of lipstick!!

By Heidi M |

This review will not give any insight to the food....as I didn't stay long enough to try any! 3 tables when we entered, 2 paid out and left. There was also a meeting room with approximately 15 people listening to a speaker. We were Seated by a young man that took our drink order....water and wine! He never returned! We finally flagged a waitress that commented she didn't drink and didn't know how to open the bottle!! We asked if she could bring the water, which still look an inordinate amount of time. My glass had a huge lipstick schmear on it!! Wasn't my shade or my lips I told her after flagging her down once again. She took the glass and reported she had someone else working on the wine bottle. New waitress delivered the wine ...and guess what? Dirty glass again, with smudges and gunk on the outside. Again, flagged down the waitress who apologized and retrieved the glass. At this point, my friend and I decided if they couldn't get the glasses clean or the service right, how clean is the kitchen? We left!! Very disappointing as I live in the area and would love to have frequented!!

Small Place with Excellent Food

By 2fromTX |

Located in a leafy strip center, Thai Topaz is a smallish restaurant with really good food. It's not a large place - with at most a couple of dozen tables, but it's a refreshingly clean, open and modern restaurant with the service style of a family hole in the wall. The Larb Pork Salad is my favorite dish - listed as a salad, but truly an entree. They have several small private rooms to accommodate a semi-proivate group meal. Highly recommended

Lunch on Saturday

By likay |

Good summer rolls very fresh. Pad Thai good. Did not have a senior menu or let seniors order off kids menu like many places do when no senior menu available.

Tasty food, forgetful service

By Colette E |

We went for my birthday dinner, and were surprised at the lack of customers in the place, even though it's located on a busy intersection. It's a bit hidden, so you have to know where you're going. Food was tasty, although the dessert portion size was miniscule. A repeat, if they'll still be open...

Great Thai food.

By mdbsat |

I am a huge fan of the Pad Woon Sen. They have a 1-5 scale for spiciness, you can ask for 5+ though and that's what I order.

Took a chance with a bday coupon- paid off

By Trevi R |

The staff was friendly and the service prompt. My husband and I were actually surprised by how quickly our food was served. He ordered the Pad Thai. He said it was good, but not his favorite Pad Thai. I ordered the Spicy Mango Chicken. It had basil and ginger flavors. I loved the different tastes and thought they went together very well. Our server was knowledgeable on the drinks and was able to help me decide between the Thai Tea alcoholic drink and the Thai 75.

Decent but didn’t hit the mark

By Christina K |

I was craving Thai food and usually try to find local places when I travel to satisfy my craving. Ordered chicken panang curry and mango sticky rice for dessert (basic/simple Thai dish) and have to say it was just “ok”. I didn’t even finish the panang (chicken texture was a little weird to me) and the bits of peanuts in the sauce I didn’t care for, but the dessert was delicious. I also liked that they let you choose your heat/spice level for the panang. No wow factor for my main course though.

Very satisfied bellies

By LVSquared |

We found this place through an online offer, and felt satisfied we'd get a good deal, but we also enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The hot pot is so unique and the chicken wings were a hit with all of us. Unfortunately the rice had some hard to eat spots and the lamb was a little chewy, but the flavors were nice. The prices are a bit higher depending on what you order (type of meat), but the portions are good enough to share if needed.

Awesome dinner

By Alfonso P |

We each ordered something different and it was all great! I had chicken curry and it was on point. Very fresh ingredients which just added so much flavor. My companions had the lemon grass tea and the hibiscus tea were tasty however I had a malbec. It's a must visit for any serious foodie.

Excellent Food and Reasonable Prices

By TylerP2211 |

i recently met a colleague here for lunch at her suggestion. Atmosphere is comfortable with good distance between tables and higher than average booth backs for privacy. Full bar is available and there is comfortable seating at the bar. Abbreviated menu of lunch specials which include either soup or salad at very reasonable prices, but full menu (larger portions and items not available on the lunch specials menu) is available on request. Food was outstanding. There is no shortage of Thai restaurants in San Antonio, and this one is one of the best! Ample parking in the strip center it is located in. Although they seemed a bit short staffed (maybe someone called in sick?) the waitress did her best to handle the crowd. The owner David, stopped at our table, introduced himself and wanted to know how everything was. Definitely a nice touch... Doesn't happen too often in restaurants in this price range! I learned in chatting with David that they also have up to 3 private dining rooms for larger parties or business meetings. After lunch, I asked to see the private rooms- for future reference. It appears these rooms can accommodate anywhere from 12- 40 comfortably. There are moveable walls separating the "3" rooms which allows the facility to accommodate varying size groups. Will definitely consider this for business meetings or when we have 8+ dining! Private rooms require reservations! So good food, excellent decor and atmosphere, good service and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back for lunch and will try their dinners out soon!

Good food but really poor customer service

By Catherine Trevino |

This restaurant has wonderful Thai food. However, there have been two instances of very poor customer service. One time we had reservations and the owner of the restaurant allowed another party ahead of us because she knew them and we then had to wait. Today, even though Texas is supposed to be an open state, temperatures are still checked, masks are mandated (funny though, they didn't stop us when we walked out without them...) and now, NO MORE PAPER MENUS because we can transfer covid to them. LOL... Well, it's ok for the waiters to transfer COVID to us because they hand everything to the customer without gloves on. Really?! Transferring COVID on a paper menu?! Wake up America and Give me a break.

The Best Thai Restaurant Experience in Town You've Missed

By Chris E |

Simply put, an amazing spot. The ambiance is genuine, and upscale. The food looks, smells, and tastes like what we had in Bangkok. The lemongrass and ginger dishes are spot on - as are the curries. The shrimp fried rice is excellent - and the chef will customize a dish on request - a certain picky eater in my party wanted rice, egg, and shrimp - and nothing else in the fried rice - and it came exactly as requested. Another picky eater only wanted broccoli - again - no problem. A bonus, crayons are provided to create works of art on the paper tablecloths - a great distraction for kids. It doesn't seem to be crowded in the early evenings (before 6) which is when we usually go - but this is one great spot for Thai food!

Loved all but the pad Thai

By texasmaedchen |

Great friendly service, attentive but not intrusive. Had a nice $5 house margarita, crab puffs only $5 on happy hour were very good but slightly underdone. The Topaz Broccoli was excellent, the broccoli was absolute perfection, just al dente, not to hard or soft and I liked the thin peanut sauce better than the heavy thick one I've often experienced with this dish. Nice presentation too. The pad Thai was rather disappointing however, noodles were very mushy. We ordered both level 2 spice and it was not super spicy, perfect for me but maybe less than most would expect? We ended with two lovely desserts, mango and sticky rice, a family favorite and this one did not disappoint... mango was a perfect ripeness. The restaurant gave my daughter a complimentary dish of their homemade strawberry ice cream for her birthday and she thought it very tasty. Atmosphere in this place is really nice compared to their other location, with a very attractive, soothing decor and comfortable chairs. Wish I could do 3.5 stars... The downside was the mushy pad Thai, but it's such an essential dish to get wrong. We will go back and try again (after all we have another Groupon!)

Authentic Thai Food-Wow!

By TD Bexar |

Fresh flavors and bright colors are signatures of quality Thai food. If you’re tired of ketchup flavored Pad Thai, like you’ll find at those fast food Thai restaurants then Thai Topaz is your place. This restaurant is a classy place and you’d never guess that some of the best Thai food in the city is served here. My favorite is the Spicy Mango Delight w/ Chicken- spice level number 5+ which brings chicken, fresh and juicy chunks of mango, a savory spiced sauce paired with your choice of rice. I’ll be eating here time and time again; if you’re ready for a treat then give Thai Topaz a chance, you won’t regret it.

Clean, simple, tasty

By Tom from Texas |

Atmosphere is quiet, elegant. Food tastes very good. Menu consists of an ample selection of fresh, simple dishes: stir fry, rice, noodles, soups and appetizers. There are different levels of spiciness; I thought my level 3 (middle) was pretty hot. My garlic meat stir fry had hints of ginger, which I liked. Reasonable prices with lunch specials, and weekday specials.

Horrible Service.

By Thai love |

Just had a terrible experience with the hostess Elizabeth who also claims to be the manager. Rudest person ever. If you are going to be a hostess you should minimally be respectful and at least kind to the customer. This woman was extremely disrespectful, treated us as if we were being rude when we were only being kind and ordering some food. We even gave her a tip. Couldn’t even bring the food out to the car, literally saw us in the car outside and went back inside and left the food on a table just to prove a point. The level of disrespect is unacceptable.

Great all around

By flksfhtx |

Everything from the prompt service to the flavor of the food was great. Spice levels are spot on. If you order hot, you will definitely need a couple glasses of water to cool your palate. Really love the freshly made Bubble drinks, we would come back for the drinks alone.

Thai perfection

By Jena |

Great service. Easy location. Amazing curry. It’s always my goal to find the best Thai food when I travel and I was not disappointed here! Affordable, delicious, clean and friendly.

Phenomenal Experience

By KMH0985 |

Mind... blown.... so many flavors, so simply and beautiful represented. So delicious! The staff is superb and prices are very reasonable!

NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN

By ConnoisseursUnite |

This was a bad experience - period! Just looking at the food when it arrived, I could tell this was not going to be good. Sure enough, eating it was a chore and an insult to my taste buds and wallet. Sickly broccoli and poor texure and taste on the beef. Not a whole lot of food - paid double than most places that make much better Thai food. Not even the rice was on point and neither was the service. I wish I hadn't wasted my time here, even once!

Delightful Food & Service!

By AuLu |

We dined here as part of a large group for a rehearsal dinner and we were well taken care of. They reserved the back part of the restaurant for us, which worked better than a party room for our number of guests, though they do have divided rooms available. The bartender and servers were accommodating and kind, and everything we sampled was delicious. The pad thai was tangy and not overly sweet, very well seasoned and balanced. The mussels had a curry sauce with a great flavor. The spring rolls were fresh and not greasy. The panang curry was the standout option with awesome flavor and spice. The fried rice with tofu was good, the steamed dumpling tasty, and the chicken lettuce wraps with peanut sauce were delicious. Nice selection of sake, as well as a full bar.

EXCELLENT SELECTION OF THAI FOOD,,,,,GREAT MENU OPTIONS!

By Mbarros |

First visit to Thai Topaz and it will not be the last one. Excellent atmosphere and selection of food for every taste. This great restaurant is located in the old La Scala Restaurant and has been updated and renovated very nicely. We tried 3 or 4 different dishes and combinations of noodles with beef, curry chicken, delicious salmon and very tasty fish with lemon.....Add saki, great wines by the glass. We had some great appetizers and the BEST was the mussles...with some chicken rolls......The food and service was excellent. We tried several desserts being our first trio to Thai Topaz and all were very good with handmade icecream with unique flavors such as coconut and avocado. Try the fried bananas as well. We will be back and bring several friends. The experience was more than we expected and very clean restaurant. Congratulations to the owners.......

Thai food at it best

Excellent Dining Experience

By ProfHam |

We go to Thai Topaz regularly for dinners and for special occasions (they have private dining rooms for that). we have never had a bad experience. The food is always prepared masterfully and is always fresh and well-presented. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant itself is very clean and inviting. The menu has several surprises you would not expect to find at a Thai restaurant so the owner and staff are constantly thinking outside the box, which is a great thing. You cannot wrong at this place.

Great atmosphere and great food and not overpriced

By C G |

If you enjoy authentic Thai food you’ll enjoy Thai topaz. The restaurant has a great happy hour and several nights they have different types of dance lessons and other events. Most important they are not overpriced for the quality of food and service they provide. Their fb page is up to date and current with scheduled events. It’s great for a date night ir a feel good night with family and friends.

Great curry

By satxdiver |

We had a groupon for this restaurant and had heard great things about it. Ii is located in a strip center on NW Military. We were there for Monday night early dinner and the restaurant was just starting to fill up. The service was excellent, seated promptly and drinks served. We both ordered red curry, our favorite, one with chicken and one with pork. The food was served hot and in a normal amount of time. We both found the red curry to be very good but I would order the chicken or shrimp instead of the pork next time. I ate all mine of course and my partner took half home which made a nice dinner addition the next night. We are planning to return and try the stir fry instead at a later date. This is a small hole in the wall type of restaurant probably run by a Thai family.
