Yummy!

Fantastic Thai curries, pad Thai, green papaya salad! Lovely and knowledgeable waitress! great location off pacific beach. Nice walk along boardwalk at Mission beach to restaurant! Cozy little Thai restaurant.

Slow but tasty

By funsundeal |

We enjoyed our Sun. night dinner of papaya salad, spring rolls, Hawaiian fried rice, and peanut beef. The restaurant is fairly plain and has TVs. The diners seemed to include locals. The server was friendly and had a sense of humor, but he was overworked and very busy. They could use at least one more server to take orders, refill waters, and bring the bill. The food was very slow to come out. It looked to me like they do a lot of take out orders, and that the kitchen was very busy keeping up. Perhaps they even need more chefs to keep up. The food was fresh and delicious, so there is a reason they are busy. Plan on a relaxed pace with very good food at a reasonable cost.

Quality Authentic Thai

By vswartz |

This restaurant proved to be a pleasant surprise. We happened to be walking down Mission boulevard looking for an open restaurant on Christmas Eve. Upon entering this restaurant, the fragrant smell of curry beckons you to enter and sit down. I had the House Curry with noodles and shrimp. The soothing taste of coconut milk hides the mild heat of the curry. My husband ordered the Broccoli and chicken. He said it was very good and had a mild sweet flavor. Our daughter ordered the Hot Basil. She said she enjoyed this dish, but the beef was a bit chewy. You can choose your level of hot, from 1-10. So the heat is really up to you. The staff is very friendly, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, I highly recommend you try this restaurant.

Worst thai food I've ever had

By Kristen46341 |

I love thai food... and this was definitely the worst I've ever had. We got broccoli noodles with chicken and drunken noodles with shrimp. The shrimp were totally overcooked and each dish had almost NO vegetables. Finally the 2 dishes tasted EXACTLY THE SAME. they were barely seasoned and downright bad. I love thai food but I'll never go here again.

Average food but good service

By TimV239 |

Small quaint restaurant. Average thai food - tried the basil beef, fried tilapia and a few appetizers. Reasonably priced meal, service was good but we didn't really find the food very tasty.

Nice place for dinner

By Gorm9878 |

After a long day, we wanted something Asian that was quick for take-out. The kids were looking for noodles and rice so we got Pad See Ew + the Thai Spicy fried rice - the rice was good, but the noodles were a little heavily sauced/seasoned but flavourful. Service was quick and friendly ....

Everything was good

By OlatheMom |

We were very please with all of the food we had. We ordered the shrimp as an appetizer and it was obviously fresh and the dipping sauce was good. I had the Thai Beef Salad and although it wasn't as spicy as I usually like, it was filled with beef and the dressing was perfect. We went here because it was within walking distance from our hotel, but would return for the food.

Great fresh food at good value

By Karlos |

The first thing that made us walk in was the gorgeous smells coming from the kitchen. Once inside, we could see that if was that it was busy with people eating in and also collecting take away. When the food arrived of was freshly cooked and delicious!

food was ok

By twobars68 |

nothing spectacular here....pad thai was very sweet and had a funny taste to it....cucumber salad was good, but also too sweet

Fresh and delicious at low prices

By Lawflake |

Thai Village on Mission Blvd, San Diego the atmosphere is nothing special but the food was fresh and delicious. It is located an easy walk from the beach and where there are many condos, motels, so the location is convenient. Service is adequate but not friendly.

Not Bar Food in Pacific Beach. Authentic Thai Cuisine.

By Mark O |

Friday Night during Spring Break in Pacific Beach could be a little crowded and rowdy. Fortunately, we were seated immediately. The restaurant is small and casual. The staff was very attentive. I had the spicy chicken. The meat was tender and the vegetables were fresh tasting. The spicy sauce was not very spicy, probably because I asked for medium. We also had the green curry with tofu. My wife enjoyed it much and had leftovers to take. This meal was a very pleasant surprise in all ways.

Good Thai Food, But Be Careful with the Spice

By David R |

As part of the ordering process the waitress asked each of us, on a scale from 1 to 10, how spicy we'd like our food. My wife said "2" and I responded "4." And our adult son said "7." My wife's entree was spicy, mine was extremely hot, and our son's was simply inedible. We're from New Mexico, so we love spicy hot foods. But Thai spice standards must be way beyond U. S. palates. Be careful!

Pad Thai Padded My Belly!

By Cacheaffe |

It was a really busy weekend when I visited, so I would suggest calling ahead if you are getting take out. My server was very nice and dealt with the amazing number of patrons magnificently! Spicy papaya salad, pad thai, and fried bananas. I was very happy!!

One of the best!

By Maryloualso |

Were in the mood for Thai food but had a hard time finding a place to park. We persevered and found a place 4 blocks away. The food at Thai Village was worth the search for a parking space. The Tom Yum soup was fantastic. I had yellow Curry with chicken and my husband said the Pad Thai he ordered was outstanding. This is not a fancy restaurant but had wonderful food, excellent service, and was a place where conversation could be carried on.

Clean, Friendly, Excellent food

By Karen G |

Very clean restaurant. We did take out. Super friendly staff. This Spicy Chicken was probably the best we have ever had.

Fave Thai Food

By Alisha D |

We live in PB and love Thai Village for thai food. The Thai chicken is flavorful, not greasy or oily. Tom Yum soup is exactly as I discovered it in Thailand. Coconut ice cream and Pumpkin Curry is awesome too.

DELICIOUS!

By kerian1 |

We ordered takeout and this place hit the mark! Delicious Thai food in my opinion, perhaps the best tasting meal I have has thus far in mission beach. The yellow curry was the best, so flavourful. Good portions, had leftovers for lunch, good value. Highly recommend.

Very Nice

By Hunter R |

Tasty food with good portions. The service and prices are great as well. Ate at the restaurant and ordered food to go the next day. Both times the food was really good, so they seem consistent. I would highly recommend.

Best Thai Curry's!

By MazzAdventure13 |

We've been to Thailand and multiple Asian destinations and this is some of the best curry we've ever had! We ordered the satay chicken, green curry, mango curry and Thai spicy chicken rice (not realising rice came with the curry dishes- it normally doesn't in Australia) all for $38!!!. 5 out of 5- great spicyness, good constancy. Couldn't have been better! We'd recommend it! Oh and they do take away. Enjoy!!

Delicious!!

Hands down one of the best restaurants for Thai Food in San Diego. Went here for the first time a year ago, and have been going atleast monthly ever since! The currys are so good as well as all of their noodle dishes.. I think I've tried them all by now! My friend is vegetarian and loves it also. Service is also lovely and friendly.. prices are great as are the portion sizes. Never had a bad visit.

Good duck curry

By Andres |

I have been to Thailand quite some times. The quality and taste of the duck curry or "entree" as the call it here is great. Also the portions are large. The reason I give an average is the papaya salad was below average - more green salad and tomato than papaya. Also the interior and finishing of the restaurant it self is not really inviting. Overall the duck was good, the overall experience was average.

Absolutely Delicious

By K L |

If you are looking for Thai food, this place is a must go to place. Large menu selections, reasonable prices, and nice quantity of food. Whenever we are in San Diego, we always go and have the Avocado Curry with chicken, a unique and great dish. Pad Thai, garlic and pepper fish, and more.....

genuine flavours

By oldhippie_12 |

We ate here midweek and it was quiet but the food ,was very authentic,I have been to thailand many times and this stood up.Good thai curry plus noodle dishes, proper thai basil, family run.Came back at weekend packed as it should be great value

New Years

By Glenn S |

Save your $$. The worst Pad Thai I have ever had. I really wanted to enjoy this place, it was in walking distance to my Motel. The green tea ice cream was the best part of the dining experience.

Tiny, good.

By David M |

Thanks to esophagus problems, my ability to eat spicy foods is limited. A relatively un-spicy yellow vegetable curry with "no" spice worked out to be sufficiently low-key to work. I would suggest that first-time visitors be quite careful about spiciness. The restaurant is small and quite modest, certainly compared to more stylish neighbors. The food is very nice to have as the nearest take-out to my hotel.

Great Thai food 4.5**

By bubfn |

We ate here 2 nights while visiting PB. Great food! We called an order in for take out. The food was ready when I got there, no waiting. The portions were very large, we had enough leftovers that we had plenty for breakfast (yeah, so what) the next day. We had Pad Thai (4*), Red curry (5*), Avacado curry (5*), mango sticky rice, dumplings (kids liked 4*), spicy noodles (4.5*). We really like Thai food, this was good stuff. Very reasonably priced ( i.e. cheap). If you are in PB and looking for some Thai food, check this place out. We will be back for sure.

Great Lunch, Fast Service

By Wayne K |

Went to Thai Village on a very busy day, but service was still very good and fast. The food was very good and tasty. Their Thai Ice Tea is great! The only thing that was rather annoying was one of the tables brought a small dog with them. After asking the waitress why was a dog in the restaurant, she replied it was a service dog. The people at the table were passing the dog over to one another over the table with their food on the table. The waitress took their word that it was a service dog. Most people with service animals do have some sort of identification indicating that the animal is a service animal. I guess the waitress did not want to get into any confrontation questioning the animal's status. The feeling was not sanitary with the animal being passed around over the table. We did enjoy our meal despite this situation, but we are not sure if we will return to this restaurant.

Best Thai in PB

By stslc |

Great location from our condo for both sit down and take out. Curries were some of the best we've had and the Spicy Noodles were fantastic. Friendly service and very quick with our food. Will be back!

Don't judge a book...

By TravelRanger87508 |

It may not look like much compared to some of the other eateries in the area, but we walked back (after passing it by), and gee were we glad that we did: it was the best meal of our trip. Excellently prepared wide noodles with all sorts of options: I went with a seafood medley and now that I'm back at 7000' (Santa Fe, New Mexico), I miss it...

Wonderful Thai Food.

By Harry B |

Unassuming little spot right on the main drag, minutes from the major Pacific Beach hotels. Outstanding food, excellent and friendly service... recommended for lovers of Thai/Asian meals.

Average thai

By Blessed |

We have eaten at many Thai places as my wife requires gluten free. This was the first thai place that didn't quite understand how to accommodate that. They brought out the pad see eew with no flavoring or sauce which made it very bland. Mango curry was good, their house specialty thai chicken was good as well. Overall food wasn't that great however the service was great!

Fantastic Experience

By LoveWarwickshire |

Fast Service and excellent food. My mother and I had been looking for a Thai restaurant all week during her short visit to PB and luckily we found Thai Village. We both had Pad Thai with Chicken, portions were large (large enough to have some leftovers) Also.. great location, since PB is a beach town - there's tons of people watching on the main strip! Sit in a booth, eat delicious food and people watch. You won't regret stopping by Thai Village!

Great for a Thai!

By elizacass |

Its hard to find an authentic thai place for me since I've been to actual Thailand over 10 times. This place is close by my place in PB so i stopped by after a walk one evening. Its popular, and has a huge menu.. So hard to decide! The prices are reasonable, not like my 30 baht pad thai off my favorite street cart in Bangkok. ($1) but i have to be realistic here. The portions were generous, and good. Lots of dishes to come back and try! Order ahead for to go.. They are busy! Has a great priced lunch menu too! Parking can be challenging. Walk if you're close by!

Yummy, large portions

By arnkrishn |

Went there for dinner on 23rd Dec while visiting San Diego. Food is yummy and the portions are big. I tried the chicken fried rice which was super tasty. My wife went for salmon garlic curry and brown rice. She found it awesome. It is not at all pricy for such good food. It is a small dine-in place and I think they take pick up orders as well. The service was nice and our server was quite jovial.

Great food. Reasonable prices.

By Jon M |

Took a little bit to get out food, but it was very good and fresh. Prices were good too. Very friendly staff.

Best Thai food ever

By laurlee |

Four of us just went for dinner and everything was delicious. Generous portions. Great prices. If you don't like it too hot, be sure to order 4 or under. House curry noodles was amazing! The Larb salad was great too,

Friendly tasty thai with large portions

By Harris G |

Went for take out dinner on August 16th around 9pm after finding out they dont deliver to my hotel .Best decision for food.Tasty thai that me and my wife could not finish . We had the crispy egg rolls, the thai village seafood and curry chicken .I would eat here again

Awful!!!!!!

By Boswife01 |

NOT DINE HERE!!!! Our food had taken over an hour and a half and when finally question we were treated as if it were our fault we ordered on a busy night (Sunday?) the food was extremely expensive for the quality that we experienced! It was also wrong. If I can give you any advice it is to NOT DINE HERE!

Good pad Thai, better red curry

By Concierge G |

Tofu pad Thai was OK flavor of basil and spicy, lacked balance of other flavors, red curry was superb coconut, spices wonderful! Green curry w/ tofu was good as well

Great service

By travellingmommy99 |

Pretty good. Not the best thai food ever, but it was pretty good. It was a nice change from the pub scene though. The staff or owners were very nice and the service was great!

Good Thai food

By CABigBob |

Nondescript place tucked along Mission Blvd. Initially at 6PM there was no one there. By 7PM it was packed. Service was very good. I thought the food was pretty good, but not outstanding. Had veggie versions of Pad See Ew, Green Curry and Thai Eggplant. I'd definitely go back - to try some of the other choices.

Great surprise in the middle of Pacific Beach!

By Justin D |

Great little hole in the wall on the main strip at Pacific Beach. Me and my wife were immensely surprised by the place thinking nothing of it and just wanting a small break from tacos on our vacation here. Service was awesome and the food was absolutely incredible - drunken noodles and Hawaiian fried rice were amazing.

Not fancy.....but great meal...

By Richard E |

We dropped in for a quick lunch. Thai Village is not fancy inside out....but if the Mango Curry that we shared is indicative of other dishes in the menu....you are in for some great Thai at very reasonable prices. The dish had a plentiful helping of meat, many large chunks of mango, eggplant and a terrific curry sauce. It looks like the locals favor the place too....

Amazing food and great cost

By PR-Nature-Lover |

I am writing this review just finishing eating here. Food was amazing, great friendly service and very cheap cost. I will definitely return before my vacation ends. Loved it!

Great Place for Thai Food

By Steve G |

On a family vacation to San Diego, we had dinner at Thai Village. Very good food and pleasant atmosphere. Enjoyed the experience. Modest prices and great quality and above average size portions.

Good Quick Basic Thai

By John B |

Very small and friendly place with quick service and nice portions. Basically fast casual. Pad thai was very good and the won ton soup was nice if bland.

A must visit for unique and delicious Thai cuisine!

By Livewild |

Delicious! We will be regulars here! What we ordered: Shrimp Avocado curry - 5 stars - this dish is out of this world! Tons of fresh avocado, plump shrimp in a slightly spicy green curry sauce. Chicken Mango curry - 4 stars - order when mangos are in season and you will not be disappointed. This curry is slightly sweet and not spicy. #67 Noodles - 4.5 stars - nice and spicy large flat noodles. Very large portion. Spicy fried rice - 4 stars - again this dish had a nice spice level and was Avery large portion. We had 4 people in our party, we all left very full and had leftovers! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is cooked fresh so, if it is busy, expect a little bit of a wait.

Felt like we scored on this one

By Cathy M |

What with large windows where people walk by, peering in to check the place out and the lack of atmosphere, this is a perfect place for take-out. Food was ready in 15 minutes, piping hot and did not disappoint. As people say, the mango curry is a winner (#54). We ordered it with scallops and expected to get the little bay ones but to our surprise they were the huge sea scallops. Also got #67, spicy noodles with basil to which we had them add vegetables. The noodles tasted fresh "pulled." Our third choice was #48, Thai egglplant with vegetables. There was a nice variety of veggies in each of these 2 dishes. We ordered a lot so we had lunch for the next day and we certainly did. With tax the whole thing was $34. As for the "heat" factor we asked for a 7. They rate the heat 1 - 10, 5 being medium. It was just right for us since we like spicy. Would certainly return.

Solid Thai choice

By Kaimada |

We chose this place because it was close to our condo. Overall, the food was solid but not great. While I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, the price point was right, easy location and we needed a hearty meal after a long day at the beach.

Great value Thai food

By Lesley B |

We've visited a couple of times before on previous trips to San Diego and have never been disappointed - and we weren't again. Highly recommend the fresh rolls to kick things off. This time around we enjoyed the house curry and the cashew nut entree. Good idea to get here early to avoid the queues but the service is quick so you shouldn't have to wait too long. Great selections for vegetarians as well.

great food great price

By corey w w |

red curry with mango was amazing and the pad thai completed the best thai food ive had in San Diego.

Cozy little Thai cafe along Hwy 101, Mission Blvd.

By Claudia M |

Great location but no parking, so if you can't find on street there is a PAY lot a block away for $5 per hour which we did. The food was great, loved the Panang Curry, which they call House Curry, good portions. Service was also great even though the cafe was packed out for dinner guests. They don't have any alcohol, because they don't have a license. We had a great time.

Great food! Good price!

By Zeeshan B |

I love the food here. I have been here at least 8-10 times and loved every dish I ordered. Try the avocado curry. I don't know how, but the avocado manage to stay fresh even the next day.

Very clean and quiet

By Marmaring |

We ate there twice during our 11-day vacation stay in San Diego. Good food! Worth trying the shrimp and chicken fried rice with pieces of pineapple served in a pineapple half. Waiters are a bit too fast removing the plates once done.

Good Thai food within walking distance of the beach

By Jonathan G |

This is a good restaurant in a good food neighborhood. It is within walking distance of the beach and the Pacific Terrace Hotel where we were staying. We had the Tom Yum soup, papaya salad and Hawaiian fried rice. All were good and generous in portion size. This neighborhood has virtually no chain restaurants and sets a high standard for local businesses to survive. Thai Village is a good option for your next trip to the beach. Live long, eat well and ride lots!

Delicious

By Matthew F |

Came here for dinner and it was pretty good. There were two very loud tables which kind of marred the experience, and the waitress kept us waiting for a table for just a bit too long (she seems rushed off her feet and they couldn't organize anyone to clear an empty wine bottle, it seems) - but the food was generally nice and fresh, we even had a doggy bag for left overs. Meal for two, plus appetizers, cost around 40 bucks. Good veggie options as well. I had the red veggie curry which was very nice. Would come back here, but preferably when less busy.

Small family place - good food

By John P |

This is a pretty small place in Pacific Beach. It seems to be a family-run place. They have good portion size. We polished off everything, so I have to say it was pretty good!!

So delicious!

By summeriwnd03 |

The food was so delicious we went back a second night! Loved the avocado curry, and the options for other "fruit curries".
