Great Food and Awesome View

By Lin P |

That’s Amore is a little neighborhood Italian restaurant. It is in a great location with an awesome view. The chief is wonderful and will work with your food allergies. And the food – some of the best, really good and tasty and just the right amount.

The best Italian restaurant outside of Italy! Family service, incredible food and atmosphere! Well worth the visit!

By Jdlaske1 |

First time at this incredible Italian restaurant & will return again before we leave. Best value and homemade Italian like no other outside of Italy itself. Staff couldn't be more outgoing & food couldn't be better! If you're in Seattle and enjoy Italian this is the spot!

Food and city views

By Ft Lewis |

This isn’t a spaghetti warehouse, pizza parlor or Chef Boy-Ar-Dee. The food is an eclectic take on the familiar wrapped up with an outstanding staff and view to match. When ordering, converse with your server about the level and type of seasoning as they will prepare to taste. Reservations recommended. And ask which desserts are homemade, then indulge.

Great find

Outstanding Italian cafe

By AirWavesC42MKII |

Wow! This is the REAL deal!!! Small (30 max diners), intimate, a killer view looking down on the city of Seattle and Puget Sound a few miles away, and out of the way but easy to find. It doesn't get much better. The authentic Italian menu is made fresh, moron scratch, daily. Several special menu items change daily. There were 6 of us celebrating 2 birthdays and our waitress, Mo, didn't disappoint and even made birthday cards from scratch for the ladies. Imagine! Tip: ask for Mo and just go!

Great View of Seattle from the Restaurant

By derrickwg36 |

That’s Amore is a very good Italian Restaurant. The view of Seattle from the restaurant is incredible. This is a great place to visit for a date or special. We ordered the bread and butter (doesn’t come with the meal) and Amore salad for appetizers, and linguini and Chicken Parmesan for entrees. The bread and butter was exceptional, it came with 3 unique butters that were infused with herbs and vegetables. The salad was very good, and had a great balance of flavors. We enjoyed the entrees, but the entrees had a few minor issues. The linguini was covered in a lemon sauce. The lemon was a little overpowering in the sauce, that it took away from the other ingredients in the dish. I added black pepper to the dish which neutralized the flavor and balanced the dish. The Chicken Parmesan was slightly overcooked, but the entree had good flavor. Aside from the few missteps in our entrees, the meal was amazing, and the ambience at this restaurant is unmatched. I would definitely visit again.

Terrific

Excellent Italian Neighborhood Restaurant

By Stephan K |

One of the best Italian restaurants in Seattle that we have been going to for several years. It is a neighborhood restaurant that overlooks the city. It's been here for 20 years but is now under new management because the owner/chef recently moved. However, he sold it to a former employee, and his husband, and they were able to keep the same menu/recipes. At the same time, they are adding their own touch. The staff is very friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant. For visitors there is free on street parking. It is also easily accessible on the #14 bus route.

Very good neighborhood Italian restaurant.

Visited That’s Amore Italian Cafe for dinner in October 2021. This restaurant is highly rated and it certainly didn’t disappoint us. Grilled pear salad, two vegetarian pizza, grilled egg plant, and tiramisu - all very good. We sat outside and it got chilly after sunset. It would have been perfect if outdoor heater were available. Overall great dinner. Highly recommend.

Great Italian food

Fantastic meal and wonderful view. Had penne bolognese and my husband had daily special tortelone. Also had the bruschetta. Everything was fantastic. Will definitely be back.

Very nice, cozy Italian cafe

By Stormyray |

Visited for the first time on a Saturday joght, full restaurant but we did get seated quickly without a reservation. Great good, good service and good prices. Will return for sure. Only negative note was automatic 15% tip for a party of two..didn't expect that... Would have actually left more but didn't after seeing the automatic charge

Its Always a Great Experience!!

By TheLeonard |

My wife and I have dined here several times. We like Italian food... "That's Amore!" has never let us down! Across the board, the dishes have been consistently good, in both quality and quantity. While the menu items are very tasty, be sure to listen to the daily specials. We slide off of our menu pick over to a special about half the time! The staff is always friendly and attentive, but not to where its bothersome. if you do get a table in the rear of the restaurant, you'll be able to enjoy an outstanding view of downtown Seattle. The Mount Baker neighborhood has its own charm, and is certainly worth driving out to! Enjoy...

Great neighborhood Italian

By Monica d |

This is a fun spot relatively near my house. We stop in about once a month. The place has been great for years -- recently it was purchased by Guy, who had been the main waiter for years. Couldn't be more pleased. The food is really good-- try the wild boar ragout or the pizza. If there was one thing I wish they'd change it'd be to expand the beer selections.

Fantastico!

By Chris P |

Had not been to Amore in years. Found out what we were missing. The specials were better than the fabulous description! The Bruschetta was as good as any I have had. The Chicken Piccata was done perfectly. We will be going back soon.

Great spot and excellent food

By mindis304 |

It was a beautiful evening and I chose to eat out outside on their patio, which was a great option. I had one of the night’s specials, saffron risotto with spinach. I asked that they replace the mussels and calamari with extra shrimp and it was an awesome meal. I really appreciate that they could accommodate my preferences, since not all restaurants allow substitutions any more. And the Chianti the server recommended was a perfect compliment to the dish. I also really enjoyed their carrot cake, which the sever said is made specifically for this restaurant. Great night at this neighborhood gem!!

Dinner with a view

By Nina S |

Went there a few weeks ago for family dinner on a Saturday. Reservation was easy by phone and we got a table by the window with a beautiful sunset view of Seattle. Both my husband and I enjoyed our dinner and drinks! Staff were great and friendly. Would love to come back.

Hidden Gem - Wonderful Food

By Tim N |

Great Italian Food, Well Presented. Loved the Variety and nice cozy atmosphere. Well worth the trip. Wonderful View of Seattle. Warm and Friendly Service. DO NOT MISS IT. EXCELLENT RESTAURANT.

What a shame

By weekendtraveler56 |

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years because we love the food, view, and intimate atmosphere. But we will never return. We had a reservation, arrived on time, waited 20 minutes to be served, ordered appetizers ,waited..., ordered dinner...waited....ate...waited for plates to be removed...ordered port and desert... waited...were told "not to rush, but our table was needed for the next reservation"...waited...port and desert. When we left. 2:10 after our initial reservation, there was no one waiting to be seated. There are many restaurants in Seattle so. SKIP THIS ONE!

Our Favorite

By Stephan K |

We live in the neighborhood and have been going to this restaurant for years. It is some of the best Italian food we have had. The chef has been there a long time. Very friendly staff. It is fairly small and intimate. Some tables have a nice view of the city. Outdoor seating in the summer, but on the street side. There is a nice overlook with the city a few steps from their front door. Good, free street parking and on #14 bus route. We highly recommend That's Amore.

Not to be missed

By BarryandJackie |

We are new to the neighborhood and wandered in on a Monday night. We were welcomed by the owner, who also advised us to move our car so as to avoid a parking ticket by an overzealous attendant. It was not crowded, and the ambiance of a neighborhood cafe-like bistro (call it what you will) was warm and inviting. We initially sat in the middle but quickly were invited to move to the window table as it became available. The service was attentive, and meal service (salads to share) and entrees were presented promptly but still well-paced. We were in and out in less than an hour (no desserts) and are looking forward to returning. The lasagna was grand and plentiful, and the carbanara was light but with a healthy meaty taste. The pear salad to start was terrific.

Fabulous place!

By Todd Y |

This is an absolute neighborhood gem. We found this place after doing a search for Italian restaurants in Seattle. I was intrigued by the high ratings so we had to try it for ourselves. We were not disappointed. The service was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The wine list is very adequate without being overwhelming. The food was fabulous. I had the chicken piccata. The chicken was tender, cooked perfectly with balanced flavors. The linguine was fresh, perfectly al dente--absolutely amazing. Can't comment on the city view because we ate outside. The restaurant is located on a quiet street so conversation was easy, not much car traffic. I will be recommending That's Amore to friends and will be returning to try more of the menu offerings.

Good Italian Food

By SusieTall |

A bit out of the way on 31st Avenue South but easy to park. It has a beautiful view of the city if you are lucky enough to be seated in one of the two tables at the huge windows at the back. The antipasto was outstanding with the usual meat, cheese, olives, and vegetables but included a succulent honey dew and grapes. The wine selection was fair and reasonably priced by the glass. We had the Tuscan sausage which reflected the genuine taste of Tuscany and the sauce was a bit spicy and tasty. The polent was unusually light which we liked. The handmade tortellini were great although the sauce was a bit strong and acidic. The tiramisu was delicious. The service was good and the cost for two with three drinks and tip was $100.

Tiny but excellent

By Jack W |

This physically tiny Italian restaurant -- it only has a dozen or so tables -- is huge in every other respect: great wine list, extremely well done menu. Our only complaint, and that's perhaps too strong a word, is that the service can be spotty at times. At our last visit (we eat there at least five or six times a year) there was only a single waiter. He was very friendly and attentive and had an excellent knowledge of both the menu and wine list, but was strung out trying to attend to a packed house. The excellent food is worth the minor annoyance, thought. Our family recommends That's Amore! highly. Be sure to try the Wild Boar Rissotto.

Great in so many ways, but....

By mshbnyehud |

Oh I wish that the kitchen's performance on one of it's specials would have been superb, but it wasn't 100%. This was a bit disappointing for a first visit to what is otherwise a pretty wonderful experience. First, the management is first rate, and I had a very nice introductory visit with co-owner Guy. Also, the ambience is very warm and welcoming. I love the background music, and the picture windows with downtown Seattle in the background is fabulous! So what was under par? The special of the night, Sockeye Salmon, was moderately undercooked. It was a beautiful portion and the outer 1/3 of the cooked fish was properly medium rare. However the center was much too rare. I should have taken a picture. Since this was my first visit, I didn't want to complain or send it back. But clearly it was not thoroughly cooked, and any digital internal temperature gauge would have said so. Normally the skin underneath would easily peel off but it did not in the center. Oops! I will definitely go back for a second visit soon, and try something else on their attractive menu.

Outstanding Neighborhood Italian Restaurant

By 8069sa |

We eat here often and the food is consistently fresh, tasty and well-prepared. We appreciate that the restaurant is not stuffy or expensive. The wine choices are good. The service is always prompt and friendly, even when they're very busy!

Highlight is the view. Neighborhood restaurant worth visiting if you live nearby.

By Jeff B |

We two had dinner. Highlights are the view and the ambiance. Neighborhood restaurant worth dining at if you live nearby. SERVICE: 3.5. Attentive and friendly. 20% service charge included in bill. FOOD: 3.0. - Grilled Pear Salad: 3.0. We split a salad. OK. - Fungo Davi (appetizer plate): 3.5. Mushrooms were good with bread (ordered separately). Bread comes toasted, and should be eaten before it cools down. - Linguine: 2.5. Shrimp was rather salty for us. - Bucatini Carbonara: 3.0. - Dessert - Chocolate Decadence: 2.0. Way too sweet for our tastes. Really sweet. - Dessert - Cannoli: 3.0. AMBIANCE: 4.0. We dined indoors as it was a grey evening. Tables nicely-spaced and comfortable. Simple, inviting interior. Excellent view over Seattle from the windows on rear wall. Our table was in second row away from wall and well-positioned to take advantage of view. There are 2 tables and half of another that are right next to the windows; one is next to the 2 bathrooms but the positives of the view will probably trump the negative of the bathroom traffic for most folks.

Rehearsal Dinner for 50

By Shelleyburn |

Paul and his wonderful crew planned a amazing rehearsal dinner for 50. The timing on the different courses was perfect and everyone commented about how fantastic the food was-My mother and I had come two months earlier and had the same wonderful dinner and service. Don't miss this great Italian restaurant when you are in South Seattle.

Wonderful food in this quaint Italian restaurant

By Dano M |

A truly excellent experience in this quaint and friendly restaurant. The carbonera was wonderful as was their chicken parmesan. The menu has a number of really interesting dishes ... definitely recommend a visit here and will be back again next time we're in the Seattle area.

Delicious late dinner

By Alec D |

I had not been to That’s Amore for awhile. A friend offered to treat me to dinner. We got a table right by the window with great views of downtown Seattle. We had two appetizers, risotto with truffles, and polenta with chanterelle mushrooms both were very good. The service, wine, food, and view were all very good. Highly recommend a visit

love this place

By carley36 |

We love the incrediably thoughtful and attentive but not intrusive service at this restaurant. They go the extra mile to anticipate and make your dining experience wonderful. For example, last nite they suggested we take home some extra pesto sauce and use it with our breakfast eggs, packaged it separately in a little container and made sure it wouldn't leak. This like something someone's caring mother would do! The food is just the right combination of interesting and comforting flavors- delicious! The cozy but not crowded neighborhood bistro feel is just right. Love the view of the city skyline, too. This is the kind of place you can go to for a special meal, take guests or just come in after a tired work day. . .

I love That’s Amore!

By mindis304 |

I love That’s Amore and in this coronavirus environment I picked up an order a couple of days ago. I got the cinnamon pear salad with prawns and it was awesome; just awesome. And I also got the wild boar ragu, which, too, was great. Because I live about 30 minutes away, they were kind enough to set up the ragu as a home chef concept, for me to finish cooking at home. I used a pan to sauté the mushrooms and reheat the sauce. And one pot to cook the noodles, which are fresh so they cook very quickly. And if you can boil an egg, you can do this little bit of prep to make a phenomenal dish (since That’s Amore did all the hard work). This is a great place, so please try to support it during these very trying times!

Good food, great service

By DVaudan |

Tried this restaurant as it has a very good/excellent rating here on Trip Advisor. Showed up early for our reservation and they were gracious enough to accommodate us. Our server was quick and helpful, and our food arrived promptly. Our meals were above average for Italian fare. The restaurant itself is cozy and casual and is located near Lake Washington. Worth a drive to dine here.

Doesn't get any better!!

By Michael M |

I'm local to this neighborhood gem, and can't speak highly enough about it. The food is always fantastic, the service is uber friendly, and the view is likely one of the best in all of Seattle. If you want to experience the view, I'd suggest a reservation, asking specifically for a window seat, however you can experience the view from most tables. They have outside seating in the summer, though it is in front of the restaurant where you won't have a view, however, it is quiet and charming. Go forth, and try That's Amore!!

Excellent neighborhood Italian restaurant

By edengulledge |

We stopped by for a warm Italian dinner for our family of 4 to That’s Amore. What a fantastic experience! The waitress and host were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and suggestions to our request for off the beaten path Seattle sites. They had some specials for the night, which we tried the Bolognese pasta, which was delicious! My son had fettucini Alfredo with chicken, my daughter had pasta with homemade meatballs that were HUGE, and I had the chicken with spinach and pasta. The tiramisu was light and delicious!! Definitely stop by this neighborhood gem for an excellent dining experience.

Great food, great view!!

By wrathie_11 |

We went to Seattle, pre-cruise, and love to find local restaurants. Based on reviews, we chose this little gem for our first night and were so glad we did!! The owner, Paul, is the chef and he is wonderful! We were 20 minutes away by cab but definitely worth the trip! We had a reservation for a window seat and the view at sunset was spectacular!! We had appetizers, four different soups/salads and four different entrees - each was delicious and we all shared bites. YUMMO!!! We will plan a trip to Seattle (from Ohio), just to come back. Keep up the good work!

Great Local Restaurant!

By NDJ152 |

We were staying at a nearby AirBNB and decided to try it based on the reviews. So glad we did. Small, family owned restaurant. All of us had something different and everyone was very pleased. Not a tourist place! We had a table by the window and a great view of the city. Service and food was excellent. If you want a quiet, small, family owned, great food place - this is it!

Consistently good

By BarryandJackie |

Our second time here was every bit as good as the first time, a few months ago. We dined a bit on the light side by sharing a pizza and salad and were quite filled and appreciative of the flavors and service.

Wonderful Neighborhood Cafe Experience

By summerwave01 |

Shared a wonderful meal with great friends at their recommendation. We ordered the Peppered NY Steak and Polpetta. Both were terrific! Steak was cooked perfectly, very tender and tasty and the peppercorn was a nice contrast. The Polpetta meat and sauce were very tasty. Service was very competent and pleasant with detailed description of the specials, knowledge of the menu and beverage choices and timely delivery. I do wish the descriptions of the specials included the pricing as I may have altered my choices based upon that additional info. If you make reservations, be sure to ask for a view table as the view really is fantastic. We did not sample the desert menu as the meal in itself was very fulfilling. We are very comfortable recommending this establishment to others, and we hope to have the opportunity to visit again.

New Favorite Place

By Libbykins |

My husband and I stumbled on this little jewel after spending some time downtown getting to know our new home city. This restaurant is a tiny little place that is amazing! The first time it was just my husband and I. It was so good I knew that I was going to have to take my family when they came up to visit. My dad owns a restaurant and I always strive hard to find a place that he will enjoy. That's Amore was a hit! The risotto cake appetizer was original and delicious. The homemade marinara sauce is yummy with a hint of red pepper flake spice. The bread they serve is hot and soft and filled with flavor. I will drive through rush-hour horrible Seattle traffic to eat here ... It is that wonderful! Thank you for two great dinners and more to come!

This is our overall favorite Seattle Restaurant

By DenicaB |

This is the place my family picks hands down when we want to go out. They have the best food and the service is great. It is definitely small but it feels like the undiscovered jewel in the city. Their tutta di mare pasta special is my favorite with the red cream sauce. Their prices are also very reasonable.

Small neighborhood restaurant with amazing food and service

By CaseyCat1204 |

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hosts at the Sleeping Bulldog, as well. We had the most amazing food and service and went back a second night during our stay. This is a small restaurant with an amazing view of the mountains and Seattle. The food is fresh and made to order. They did not skip a beat when my best friend asked for menu options because she is allergic to onions and garlic. Many options were presented. The wait staff was fun, helpful and most professional. The first night was a 3 hour dining experience. They even presented me with a special card for my birthday. We will definitely be back and highly recommend That's Amore! Susan

Deliciously Surprised by Neighborhood Italian Cafe!

By MelSeattle |

I've lived in Seattle for over 30 years and never had heard of this restaurant - what a gem! A dear friend sent us to dinner here as a thank you gift and now I look forward to returning again and again. It's unpretentious aesthetically, with the most amazing, authentic Italian dishes. Our group enjoyed two appetizers: mussels in pesto broth ("liquid gold" as described accurately by our delightful waiter) and risotto cakes (do NOT miss these!) I couldn't resist ordering their wild boar papardelle as an entree and I was not disappointed. This was as fine a version as those that I've enjoyed many times in Italy. The evening's pork scallopine with marsala was enjoyed by two people at the table and my husband ordered their other special, saffron risotto with seafood. Absolutely everything we had (including the incredible tiramisu and bread pudding) was delicious. On top of the amazing food, we were fortunate to have Guy as our waiter who made us feel like we were walking into an old friend's house for dinner. Honestly, I might invite him to OUR house for dinner - he was fabulous. If you're towards the back of the restaurant, you also have a straight-on amazing view of downtown. Mount Baker is lucky to have this warm, welcoming restaurant in their neighborhood with fantastic Italian food. Fortunately I don't live close enough to walk or I would be there all the time! Thank you, That's Amore, for a wonderful, delicious evening.

Perfect Italian neighborhood restaurant in Seattle

By Steve S |

I don’t write a lot of reviews but just had dinner at one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants and just want to report that it really stands up to any Italian restaurant I’ve been to anywhere. The pear salad with Gorgonzola was a delicious starter and the Chicken Marsala with fresh asparagus perfectly cooked plus grilled artichoke hearts could not have been better. The service, as always, was cordial, friendly, professional but not overbearing. A perfect neighborhood vibe. It’s not easy to get to from downtown Seattle but if you want a neighborhood experience with Italian food as good as you will get anywhere then it’s worth the trip. This place has always been a good neighborhood restaurant t but the current owners have taken it to a whole new level. Not fancy by any means but could not recommend it more enthusiastically.

Great Food!!

By panchomama |

The host at our B&B recommended this restaurant to us and we liked it so much we returned the following evening. Guy and Jill were our servers and they were both so nice and made our visit an enjoyable one. The food and service are both excellent. We will definitely return when in Seattle on another visit.

Now that's Italian!

By Mfsnyder11050 |

Had a spectacular dinner at That's Amore! What a treasure of a restaurant. Lovely location with beautiful views, especially at sunset. My cousin suggested we start with the risotto appetizer which was amazingly delishious. We followed with a Caesar salad that was perfectly dressed, right amout of crutons and a light amount of fresh ground pepper. I had one of the four specials on the menu- gnocchi with giant prawns in a red pepper sauce, with just the right amount of grated cheese. My husband ordered short rib raviolis that he was still talking about the next day. The tarmisu and lime cheesecake were both excellent, especially with expresso. Our waiter was helpful, attentive and made excellent suggestions. The decor was lovely. The simple and elegant dining tables were made of two different types of wood, which complimented the food and all of the varieties of flavors, tastes and sights we enjoyed during our meal.

New Amore

By 71PuraVida |

We were staying in a near by AirBNB and found this little restaurant by accident. It was a rough walk from 29th Ave because It is a steep up hill walk, but the food was great. I used OpenTable to set up our reservation because it is only open for a limited time between 5PM and 9PM on Monday through Thursday. It is also a small place so reservations are encouraged. Try the boar...it's yummy.

Great place to take friends that are visiting Seattle

By Alec D |

This is a good Italian restaurant that very few people who live here know anything about. It's up on a ridge looking west with wonderful views of the city and the sound. The service is very good. I had not been in quite some time and was happy to see that it is still the wonderful place that I remembered. I had the fettuccine puttanesca which was good. The only thing that I would want to change is their choice of bread that is served with your meal. This is the bread that I remember from American Italian restaurants from the 60's and 70's. Don't let that keep you from going. It's great.

Great Italian Food and Service

By Sparky21Seattle |

Went with a friend for dinner after checking online for reviews. This place got a lot of great reviews so we decided to try it. My friend was delayed and I was starving so order the anti pasti to munch on. The service was outstanding with our waiter being knowledgeable, friend, and attentive. The appetizer was a wonderful selection of meets and veg with bread on the side. If we hadn't stopped we were made it a meal but were excited to try their main course. I chose the chicken scallopini and my friend had seafood risotto. The chicken was moist and tender with a delicious sauce and pasta. My friend exclaimed that her risotto was excellent as she ate the entire serving. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert but they have a large selection that sounded great

A Rare Excellent! - Great Food, Incredible Neighborhood Feel

By nytxson |

Exceptional Neighborhood Italian. That’s Amore! is a boisterous little place packed with flavor and no attitude. They only serve until 9 or 10PM each night to keep their downstairs neighbors happy. It also shows the places’s engrained belief that it should be a good neighbor in this sleepy area of Seattle. The food is equally as thoughtful. From the very small kitchen adjacent to the dining room, the chef creates 4 different marinara sauces, fresh bread each day, fresh gnocchi, all but one of the desserts. We visited on a “slow” Tuesday night, and the place was packed. Each night there are different specials like espresso braised short rib tortellini, saffron risotto with mixed seafood, steak Marsala with fresh wild mushrooms, and chicken cannelloni. The regular menu items are equally impressive. A good Italian place is only as good as it’s chicken parmigiana - and That’s Amore does not disappoint. The cheesy and crispy chicken is matched tastefully with one of the four in-house marinaras. A spicy, chunky, and robust sauce that is bread sopping good. The cesear salad is noteworthy, but the grilled pear and goat cheese gorgonzola salad is exceptional. And when you order the mussels as a starter, be sure and ask for a straw to drink the white wine, pesto, and garlic butter broth. Don’t worry - the professional staff are used to this request. Rumor has it the place is changing hands soon, but it’s being handed over to one of the long time servers who likes the place just like it is! The Mount Baker neighborhood in Seattle is a little out of the way, but That’s Amore is worth the effort.

Simply Amazing

By Beentheredonethatbc |

A must try, believe me you will not be disappointed. Awesome staff, food, and best martini's. Not over priced.

Great neighborhood Italian restaurant!

By Wandering Jefe |

We frequent this restaurant on monthly basis. The food is great and the views of the Seattle skyscraper are even better. I have tried various menus items and I haven't been disappointed. You can also bring your own bottle wine, you will have to pay a corkage fee. I recommend making reservations on the weekend. Try to get a table by the window to enjoy the view, if the weather nice get a table outside to enjoy the weather and the people watching. The staff are always friendly and accommodating,

Everyone wants this restaurant for their neighborhood

By Barb1976 |

This is a little neighborhood place in Mt. Baker. It is the Italian place EVERYONE wishes would live in their neighborhood. Of course, not every neighborhood has the extraordinary view of Seattle we had from our table, and that made our evening special. This is a chef owned and operated place and everyone who works there is part of a great team, making sure you feel welcome and happy. Everything we ate was fantastic. My husband's wild boar ragu was amazing (it is a signature dish); my salmon was perfect. This is not The French Laundry--it is happy being a great neighborhood cafe--so I gave it a five rating because it is a very fine example of its dining category.

The Best Italian in Seattle

By laura p |

Simply the best Italian cuisine Seattle has to offer. I dine here every time I visit Seattle, which is about 3 times a year. The atmosphere is very Seattle, reserve a table by the window so you can enjoy the view. The staff is always friendly, offering witty banter or being totally professional depending on their audience. Start with a great Bruschetta or Antipasti. Both are very fresh and worth the extra calories! You must have one of the meatballs! I am not sure what they are made with but they are the best I have ever had. The specials never disappoint, whether they be a beautifully cooked steak with fresh asparagus, or a delightful gnocchi filled with the chef's choice of the day. On this last trip my husband opted for the lasagna, and it was amazing. Layered high and tight so you don't have drippy sauce, made with fresh mozzarella and noodles. There are so many wonderful dishes I have had during my many visits, I do not have space to tell you about each one, but trust me they are all wonderful! Save a little room for dessert, even if you must share it. The tiramisu is to die for!

First-Rate Italian in Mount Baker...

By sir_keith_26 |

Seattle is of patchwork of neighborhoods, each with its own distinct identity and vibe, and many of these are home to local restaurants that generally fly under the tourist radar. To some degree, online review sites are changing this dynamic, so the best neighborhood restaurants, even those that are off the beaten track, are enjoying ever-wider patronage. One such restaurant is That’s Amore! Italian Café in Mount Baker. Located about 3.5 miles southeast of downtown Seattle, and not on the way to anywhere, That’s Amore is not a place you’d find by accident. But people are finding it, because fully one-third of That’s Amore’s Trip Advisor reviews have been written by out-of-towners. And almost without exception, everyone loves this restaurant. So do I. I am less impressed by the view than some reviewers- it’s a western vista that can only really be enjoyed from the few tables near the windows- but I am mightily impressed by the food. Served in a small, rustic dining room, the menu consists of simple country Italian dishes that are unpretentious, impeccably prepared, and absolutely delicious. Whether you choose something a bit adventurous like my favorite, the Wild Boar Ragu, or a more traditional dish, like Polpetta (Sicilian-style meatballs and spaghetti), you will not be disappointed. Add to this equation a well-constructed and reasonably priced wine list, and friendly, helpful service, and you have the makings of a genuinely pleasant dining experience. That’s Amore is a gem, but it is tiny, so make reservations in advance (even on weekdays), and enjoy!

We loved it!

By rklee4 |

Thank you for a fantastic birthday celebration for our daughter on Saturday! It was our first time here and the food and the service were equally amazing. I also really appreciated that the atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed. We will definitely be back!

Crab Pasta was amazing. Location is great for us. There were a mix of flavors.

By SkiMom33 |

Love the location of this little restaurant as it is close to our home. We have eaten here and ordered out a few times. The Crab Pasta has been the winner every time, leaving the other dishes a bit wanting. It is always delightful to find a little corner restaurant in Seattle that makes you feel you are not in the city.

Great little neighborhood spot.

By MkTrekker |

This is a nice little place. There's a tremendous view out the back window. The menu is extensive and interesting. I had a risotto special with seafood that was very well done. I was also eyeing the eggplant dish, stacked on spinach and layered with cheese and sauces. Friendly and cozy.

Italian food at it's most authentic!

By margre02 |

The neighborhood is Mt Baker, the views are of the entire Seattle skyline, and the atmosphere is idyllic. That's Amore does old school Italian food with Pacific NW flair and does it extraordinary well.

Every cloud has a silver lining, I guess

By Melissa C |

I've been to this restaurant 4 times and ordered the same thing each time - the chicken picatta - because I loved it. So I was surprised today when it tasted like old or rancid oil. I let our waitstaff know and before I even finished explaining, I was told I must "just not like it." I explained that, no, I usually love this dish, but today something is wrong. I was told it was nearly impossible because they go through oil quickly but she would ask the chef. She came back in less than a minute told me the chef assured me they used fresh butter and oil and that, once again, I "just might not like it." She presented me with the $50 bill and that was that. Frankly, she could have offered me pasta with butter and I would have been content. I had 3 hours yet to go in shuttling kids to lessons. There were other red flags when I walked in the door and upon receiving my beverage in a dirty glass. I overlooked them, so I have to take half the blame for even staying. While I can forgive a poor meal now and again, it happens, condescending service...never. The good news, I had the BEST fried chicken sandwich at Heyday down the street when I had to do a "dinner redo." The staff was lovely, and the kids got to enjoy a nice dessert of chocolate shakes. Every cloud has a silver lining I guess. But won't go back to this grey cloud, called That's Amore.

Great Location & Great city view if you have a table near the window

By Alec D |

That's Amore, is a typical version of Italian food seen through an American lens. It is a small and cozy place with a great view of downtown. The service is very good. I have been visiting off and on for about 20 years. The menu offers a wide variety.

Fantastic place. Fantastic locale. Fantastic food.

By Kerry C |

A vibrant, cozy, neighborhood cafe with incredible food and a great wine selection. Don't miss it. I'm a wild boar ragu nut and these folks know how to make it right. And the eggplant...oh, the eggplant. Plan ahead, get a reservation and prepare to have some of the best food. When you're done, save some daylight (if you can) to take a stroll down the street for some great views of the city (personally, I like sunrise up there best).

Yummy Italian in a no nonsense environment. A breath taking view toward the city; an oft overlooked view restaurant. Brunch is fabulous. The meatballs will set back your diet plan big time. Consistently good. Very low key.

Wonderful Dinner

By JIM S |

A delicious meal with a spectacular view of Seattle. If you are looking for an Italian culinary experience look no further in Seattle and head to Thats Amore. The service could not have been better. Thanks to Guy for a great evening. The only negative his that my family in Seatle is moving east and I do not know when a return trip to Seattle will allow me to return for another meal a That's Amore.

Wonderful Rehearsal Dinner

By vintagemary |

We held a rehearsal dinner here recently and we couldn't be more pleased. Chef Paul and his staff did a marvelous job feeding and serving our group of 43. Great view, terrific cuisine and a fine, friendly staff. Try the wild boar pasta if it's on the menu. This is a great place for two to 50. It's not fancy, but it's friendly and well-run and has been in business for years.

Mount Baker Italian

By jtfman |

We have been to That's Amore many times and always have a great experience. Love the neighborhood location in Mount Baker - try to snag one of the back tables, as the view over the valley is spectacular. Service is fast and friendly. Excellent selection of pastas on the menu, with several salads and other starter options. Mains were great - my favorite is the chicken marsala - and be sure to ask about the daily specials. Dessert menu is a bit limited, but you may not have room for dessert anyway! Prices are quite reasonable for a Seattle restaurant these days. Definitely make the trip to Mount Baker to check it out!

One of the best views, nicest waitstaff, and best ambience in Seattle

By soccerdocSeattle |

Oh, and by the way, the food and wine are also great! I had my wedding reception here.

Amazing Gem in Seattle

By berlywa |

This is the best Itialian food in Seattle, hands down. Pizza, Pasta, Seafood, Poultry dishes, I have tried them all (don't eat red meat, but I have had others try the meat dishes and loved them). One of my favorites is the Tortellini Gorgonzola, try it with asparagus instead of broccolli. The pizza's give you the feeling you are in Italy-hard to find an authentic Italian Pizza in Seattle, but That's Amore has perfected them. Everything is inventive, creative, and delicous. The service is is great. In a residential neighborhood unless you know it's there you might miss it. And I can tell you, if you live or are visiting Seattle you want to find this place. One of the best secrets about this place is the view. You would probably not know by looking at where it is, but it has an amazing view of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound. Make reservations if you can and ask for a view table (the restuarant is small and only about 8 of the tables actually have the great view). Take the time to find this place and go enjoy, you won't be disappointed.

Another great night

By txrunnermom |

I eat at That's Amore! every time I visit Seattle. The view of the city is amazing. The atmosphere is whatever you'd like it to be - casual, family, romantic, etc. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is made to order and everything I've tasted is delicious. I had the penne pollo again tonight - did not disappoint.

A neighborhood gem

By shri420 |

We dined at That's Amore this past week for the first time--friends had recommended it enthusiastically. We dined shortly after their Sunday opening (4 pm) and the place really only began to fill as we were leaving. We had a table at the back by the window which gave a striking view of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound (at a distance). The menu offered a number of very interesting choices, most all combining pasta (which tasted as if it were home made) with various meats, fish or vegetables. We settled on the wild boar ragu and parpadelle and scampi carbonara. In both cases the flavors were well balanced and the portions generous without being overwhelming. We passed on the interesting salad offerings--the grilled pear with greens and gorgonzola was very tempting. The menu also offered calzones, pizza and other italian themed fare which, if it is as good as the entrees we enjoyed would be another reason to visit. We concluded with two dolce items--a tiramisu and an almond/raspberry tart, both excellent, although we have learned over the years that no two restaurants' tiramisu will be the same. The meal was accompanied by an excellent San Giovese Riserva. The wine list offerings were varied, including the option of a carafe of Montepulciano. Prices for reds ran from about $42 to $95 and the whites were in the mid-30s. The restaurant occupies one shop in a traditional "streetcar neighborhood shopping strip" Parking is on the street and could, perhaps, at times require a short walk. Visitors to Seattle staying downtown could use the #14 Mount Baker bus to 31st Avenue South and Massachusetts--then walk back about a block. A chance to see some of Seattle's interesting neighborhoods--and the Mount Baker ridge area where the restaurant is located is a pleasant one. Service was attentive and responsive to our requests as to timing. The ambient sound level was low--with only three other parties at the time; I suspect a full house would produce an acoustic impact. To sum up, we thought That's Amore to be a genuine "find"

Love at first Bite

By Linda C |

This neighborhood cafe is small in size but big in ambiance and friendly service. The menu is varied, reasonably priced, and completely delicious. We ate two dinners here-- just one was not enough to experience the menu offerings. The lasagna was wonderful! There is also an extensive wine list. The view of the city as the sun goes down is spectacular. I only wish that we had a lovely little cafe like this in our home neighborhood. It's a must try in Seattle.

Great Food, Service, and View

By NWUSA-Ellie |

Party do 3 shared bruschetta, which was fresh tasting. I had the pear and Gorgonzola salad and prawns carbonara. Both were good. The salad would have been better with more than 2 slices of pear. There was nothing extraordinary about the carbonara dish. My friends enjoyed several glasses of red wine, salads and entrées. We shared the berry torte, which was OK. The service was just right--attentive, but not not intrusive. The view is spectacular. The neighborhood restaurant is small and intimate, but not crowded. Had not been there for several years and was happy to reconnect with it for an evening out with good friends.

Great atmosphere and food!

I love going to That’s Amore! The staff and owner is great and the food is amazing! They always have great and tasty specials! Not to mention ask for a table near the window and you can see the cityscape of downtown.

Absolutely wonderful

By kpedad |

Saturday night dinner with my wife and three kids (9 - 13). I started with a ginger squash soup and had the NY strip with gnocchi that was a special. Everything was perfect. Kids loved their fettuccini Alfredo and pepperoni pizza (picky kid approved!). Cozy, comfortable, and vibrant "neighborhood Italian" atmosphere paired with terrific service. We will absolutely return.

Great Italian restaurant with an excellent view of the Seattle skyline

By Ray E |

That's Amore is a great hidden gem in an older section of Seattle. Its hilltop location just south and east of the city offers great views of the city, particularly at and after sunset. We visited this small restaurant early on a Monday evening and though the place wasn't yet packed, we were made to feel quite special. The Bruschetta Grande as a starter was excellent. We also had Fettuccine con Pollo, Mushroom Polenta, Pollo Piccata, Prawn Puttanesca and their Sicilian Meatballs and all were exceptional. If you're open to great food and service without getting too hung up on modest decor, this would be a great place to try. We'll definitely be back.

Nice Neighborhood Secret

By Edwin L |

We have been to That's Amore several times. The food has been consistently good. Having just returned from a trip to Italy we are pretty particular about our Italian food. The wine is very good, with many Italian wine options. The wait staff can be the wild card here, some nights it is very good and other nights we have had waitstaff that just don't seem to care. It is a great place to have in the neighborhood, and will continue to go often.

Not what we were expecting

By Moniquessimo |

It’s not right downtown and being called a cafe threw us as we thought it would be casual. Menu prices seemed more inline with a more upscale restaurant. It’s dark inside so would recommend outdoor weather permitting. Female server was miserable. Ordered the meatball appetizer, very good. Chicken Parmesan was not very generous and the lasagna was good. For $160 per couple we were not wowed.

Hidden gem. Italian food so good I think the kitchen must be in Italy.

By Robert K |

We had a table of seven and I could not have been more pleased with the evening. First of all the view is awesome. The Bruschetta had some really great tasting tomatoes and was more than enough for 7 people to try. I was adventuresome and had the Wild Boar Ragu. They must put a lot of red wine in this, you could taste it. The seasoning was fabulous. Two people tried the Pollo alla Parmigianna and were very happy campers. I was told the Key Lime Cheesecake was very good as well as the Pinot Grigio wine. This is the kind of small place where you feel special the moment you walk end. For the quality of the food, I felt the prices were very reasonable. I'm not sure how we heard of this place, but we have eaten here in the summertime and they had a few tables outside which was nice. I once had the beef tenderloins on a daily special and it was one of the best meals I have every had.

Great Meal

Small quaint restaurant with a spectacular view. Food was excellent. I had their special Shrimp Risotto and my daughter had pizza.

Great little place

By Phil C |

Excellent little cafe with good food, friendly service and a nice view over downtown. The lasagne and bruschetta were particularly good, and Jenna the server was a delight. Easy off-street parking.

Excellent food, gorgeous view!

By John and Nancy L |

The food is as good as in Italy itself, with excellent ingredients, great wine choices, and a view to die for, especially if you snag a seat by the back windows. Definitely will come again as soon as we're back in Seattle. Great service too. Can I give it 6 stars???

Go for the view!

By LadyoftheMoon |

This restaurant came highly recommended from a fellow foodie, so I was very much looking forward to trying it out. I came away overly positive, if only for its location and the view. There is something special about feeling like you’ve found an undiscovered treasure, or at least a great restaurant that is inconvenient enough that most people won’t go. As others have stated, it is a small dining room, and is tucked on a tiny commercial strip in the middle of a residential area. (Great houses to envy there, if you enjoy that sort of thing!) I had called ahead to make a reservation so as to ensure we’d get one of the three “good” tables at the window with the view. On the one hand, I loathe having to wax poetic about how it’s a special occasion to ensure good placement, but on the other, its nice to know that my two-months’-worth-of-advance-planning would be rewarded. (I’m not sure 2 months is really necessary, by the way, and they say they can’t guarantee anything, but hey, I’m a planner.) Our table was ready and waiting for us, all set up for two. (As an aside, one of the three tables near the windows is right by the bathrooms, which might be a downer if you are especially picky.) The view was incredible, even on a grey day, and made the entire trip worth it just for that. Our food was good, albeit unremarkable. I found my pasta to be a bit bland, and my husband said the same. The dessert menu was fairly standard which always disappoints me – get creative folks! My only real complaint about the fare was the wine – I could tell straight away that the bottle had been open and perhaps not sealed correctly (maybe they don’t go through it very quickly?) as the wine’s flavor was noticeably absent. It wasn’t worth making a fuss over, but that appears to be how they handle all of their wines so consider your choice carefully! Finally a note about service. Sometimes it’s a great joy to go to a restaurant and be treated as a member of the family, sometimes said family feels like your aunt of whom you are quite fond except for her habit of asking you when you are going to meet someone special and settle down. Our waitress fit into the latter category – she was kind, attentive, and yet scolded me for not eating my mushrooms. Yes, thank you, I know I could have ordered the dish without them but wanted their flavor as part of the sauce, just not their texture. I will know better next time! Bottom line – its worth a try. Make a reservation if you are going during the rush or want to call dibs on an unobstructed view.

Great Neigborhood Staple

By kjbrownfam |

I've been dining at That's Amore since they opened ~10 years ago. We know the owner/head chef and the staff. The food is always great. I've had everything on the menu except the shellfish (family members say all shellfish dishes are to die for) and have never been disappointed. If you're visiting, it's worth the cab/uber to dine here.

Great food and staff at neighborhood cafe

By Janet H |

This is a fantastic small restaurant owned and run by great people!! We were welcomed and chose to sit outside on a warm, beautiful sunny late afternoon. Everyone on the staff is friendly and did not rush us. We shared the burrata/beet salad with greens, pine nuts, and a light vinaigrette..yum! My friend had the carbonara, which was sooo good. I had the dungeness crab paparadelle special, boy was it special!! Crab in every bite and the sauce delish!! And enough to take some home. Can you tell we enjoyed our dinner?!! Make a reservation.

Really good food and very friendly wait staff.

By Terry H |

This place is so popular and the reason is apparent as soon as you enter the front door. The different waiters, even one's not your own, move out of the way for you as you move from place to place, and always with a smile. The food is delicious, with substantial portions too (enough to bring home a 'doggie bag'). Looking forward to our next visit here.

Authentic Italian!

By BingieBoy |

Trust me. This place is good! I know Italian food because I was brought up eating it in NJ and I married a Brooklyn Italian man that was born in Italy. We both enjoyed our dinners. Even the pizza was excellent. It's very difficult to get authentic Italian food out here, but this place has it.

Best italian fare!

By CNN N |

If you crave authentic italian food, the sort where flavors burst in your mouth and you taste the basil, and the ripeness of the tomatoes, and the chewiness of good pasta, try this place! What's good? A beautiful and charming restaurant with a nice view as well. Excellent choices of wine. Soemthing to pair with every dish. Use of spices and herbs in a sophisticated way. The owners make the pasta and the sauces are all a family traditional recipe, it seems. We got free Tiramisu!! Though we did not order because we were too full after overeating, because of course, we could'nt stop! Perfect place for a dinner date.

Great food and staff

By Keylime_10 |

You can tell this is a neighborhood favorite by the relaxed and happy faces of the customers. A great view of the city, too. Classic Italian food that was just delicious. It did get a little loud with a big birthday party in the center, but I would recommend it highly.

Excellent Food, Fantastic Servers, Worth Driving Over An Hour For

By 835wandaa |

We live over an hour away & this is definitely worth the drive! The food is fantastic and tastes like an Italian grandma handmade it for you. The waiters are the best I've ever had (friendly, prompt, attentive but don't hover, etc.) The view of Seattle is nice too.

Wonderful atmosphere, food, service and food

By laurabaxter01 |

We three enjoyed our dinner so much last night that I had to voice our praises immediately! With a great view of Seattle from Smith Tower to the Space Needle, this charming cafe with personalized, friendly wait staff (especially Italian born Ray), and an enticing menu that makes it a struggle to choose, a good selection of wines and beers, That's Amore is a winner and we will return soon,. Since both my husband and I often cook Italian at home, it is rare that we can be enthusiastic about the menu or recipe execution at an Italian restaurant. Thursday evenings live music is featured. We enjoyed classical guitarist Anre Feriante. The acoustics were good so we could really enjoy his performance. Patrons who wanted to chat were able to as the sound was not overwhelming. This is a good place to bring of towners since it is charming, tasty AND near Lake Washington. There is a park overlooking Seattle a few doors away.

Focus on the Food

By Poppenlander |

I always have a hard time knowing how to feel about bistros. On the one hand, they promise a quaint, intimate experience that reminds me of why I like pubs. There's a comfort level to the food and atmosphere that take some of the pressure off of the diner and the restaurant. On the other hand, bistro prices push the paradigm toward fine dining, making it feel like I should REALLY enjoy this experience, or I will have wasted my money. In the end, a bistro is neither fish nor fowl, but something in between. Enter That's Amore! Italian Cafe. It behaves like a bistro, whether that word is in the title or not. Tables are crammed together like one would expect from a local hotspot, and the ambience is definitely low-key chic. You'll find locals, families, tourists, and more here, and dress code ranges from shorts to suits, but mostly a lot of Seattle upscale casual. Fortunately, That's Amore! puts the emphasis on the food. We started with the bread and butter appetizer, which was frankly amazing. The various flavored butters were a wonder of creativity. My wife and I also shared the Amore salad; anything with crispy prosciutto as a garnish is a winner in my mind. My entree was a flavorful Pappardelle pasta dish with boar's meat, that was spicy and a bit earthy. My wife had a penne pasta with broccoli and chicken; subtler, but no less carefully prepared. The menu is not extensive, but it's clear that the kitchen is thoughtful about each item they prepare. The various dishes feel like high-end comfort food, by way of some Pacific Northwest innovation. The service was friendly without being overbearing or pretentious. You feel like you are among friends. The price tag remains a bit steep compared to what I think of as a cafe. On the other hand, I usually go to cafes for lunch, and this was a full-on dinner with wine and dessert, so I should expect to pay more. And I certainly wouldn't describe anything we ate as disappointing. Still not sure how I feel about this space that rests between "fancy" and "casual," but I can tell you this: If someone asked me whether this was a good restaurant to celebrate an occasion, or just for an off-handed date night with their partner, I'd say yes in a heartbeat.

hidden gem

By john p |

This excellent restaurant was recommended by my B&B hosts at the Sleeping Bulldog. The window seat was reserved for me so I had a unbelievable view over Seattle while enjoying the most fantastic Italian meal. The service could not have been better and the waitress was stunning!!

Excellent Italian for a good price..

By John T |

I've had the pleasure to eat at That's Amore! twice and both times I was equally satisfied. The pasta is the freshest I've eaten in a restaurant. I had a fettucini dish with a red sauce mixed with a white sauce, which I enjoyed. The salad was fresh and crisp. It's a lively kind of place but not too loud. Wherever they sit you in the place, you will be comfortable as the atmosphere is friendly and laid back. If you're lucky you will get a window seat overlooking the city. Best to call ahead and make reservations as it was busy both times I went..

SO delicious!

By Lani R |

What a gem of a small restaurant! Staff/owner were friendly and attentive without hovering. First trip, so I know now to reserve a window table; surprisingly beautiful view! Several daily specials. The menu is tantalizing. My cousin declared the Caesar the best he’s ever had (butter lettuce due to Romaine concerns): he’s a foodie and former restaurant owner. There’s a nice choice of wines to pair with the meals. I had the pollo piccata and can now die happy...except I want to go back SOON to swoon over another delicious choice. Yum!

Great food, great view!

By Doug H |

We had a party of six, and were lucky enough to get seated right in front of the picture window that offers a view across the entire city and through to Puget Sound and the Olympic mtns beyond. Service was friendly and prompt, and they offer daily specials that are not on the menu as well. The Ceasar salad can be had with or without anchovies. Others had a grilled pear salad served on a bed of greens which was also very good. My wife ordered the steak special, a pepper crusted steak which was seared nicely, and cooked to her exact liking of temp ( rare ); it was very tender and really flavorful, and was on a bed of their gnocchi with a side of asparagus. I had the grilled eggplant dish, which was a really interesting take on eggplant parm. No breading on the eggplant, which allowed the flavor to shine, with goat cheese and mozarella balancing each other out, topped with a basil pesto on a bed of greens. For a fan of eggplant, every bite made my mouth happy. We had the flourless chocolate dessert, which was really dense with an intense dark chocolate flavor but not too sweet - it would appeal to those who really like dark chocolate, but if you prefer a creamier chocolate taste, maybe not so much. If I lived in Seattle, it would be someplace I would return to often enough to work through the whole menu.

Wonderful!

By JK22Sea |

A perfect anniversary celebration! Easy reservation process - temp check and masks as we entered. Excellent service and timing! Just so perfect! We had bruschetta with delicious tomatoes -wow! Caesar salad and the main courses. The special of crab pappardelle with asparagus was wonderful! And we finished with tiramisu. Wait staff was caring and personal. View from our table of the city and setting sun was remarkable! Grazie!!

Spectacular view and great food!

That's Amore is a neighborhood eatery that is consistently great! Plenty of variety on the menu as well as a nice wine list. This is a hidden gem that worth getting to.

best meal we had in Seattle

We made a reservation at the suggestion of our B & B host. (This is small neighborhood place.) My husband had a steak special and I had the crab pasta special. Both were delicious, and portions generous. Service was warm and friendly.

Food with a view

By Jim H |

We eat at That'a Amore, on average, every six weeks and have been doing so for several years. On Aug. 31, 2013 three of us dined there. Our bill was about $62 including tax and tip. Two of us shared a small Caesar salad (more than enough). Our entrees included pasta w/bolognese sauce, lasagna and a special, two sausages with a tomato sauce over polenta. We shared (3 of us) tirmisu for dessert. Ther was one ice tea and no alcohol (although the latter is available. All were wonderful. The service is tops. The owners are usually present and take an interest in their guests. When the weather allows, there is outside seating (street-side). When making a reservation (advised) ask for one of the two rear window view tables - skyline, Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains with sunsets.

Good food, great service, nice view.

By rjbeach |

This restaurant is within 1.5 miles of downtown Seattle and the sports complex. The view is to the west overlooking that, and although we were seated near the rear, we could see what the view would be. We called not long before we wanted to eat, and as we were eating early, 5:30, we were able to get in. By the time we left it was quite full, so I would recommend reservations during the normal dinner hour. I had a wild boar dish that was interesting, tasty, but I probably wouldn't order it again. The others in our group were very happy with their meals.

OK

By Bill C |

Was looking for a cozy Italian restaurant in Seattle..this was just ok. Living in Italy I know Italian...the Chicken Marsela was too peppery and so was my husband,s Alfredo. At first I thought too many spices but it was pepper. Marsela sauce and chicken was orange color and it was mixed into the linguini. Cannoli was bland. Artisan Bread was the best item. I really wanted to love this small business but did not. Service and hostess was great.
