First Night in Seattle

By Debbie W |

First night in Seattle. Walked from hotel to cafe. Sat outside. Service was okay but lots the waitress did not tell us about. Cost for each side of ranch for the salad and the sandwich was small - not as big as expected. A little costly.

Dive Bar with poor service and Blaring music

By Achmud |

My experience was similar to another reviewer who, like us was sent by a nearby hotel but felt it was poor. Like the other reviewer who gave a poor review, We too, wished we had gone somewhere else such as the Thai restaurant next door or the pizza bar across the street. This is a dive bar that serves food. Maybe breakfast and lunch are better but dinner went as follows: Entered and grabbed first available table but the music blaring from overhead speaker was so loud we got up and started to leave. We found another table on the other side of the bar that was less noisy but shortly found it was still ear numbing. A sort of waiter eventually came to bring a menu and take our order after what seemed like a long wait. We asked the "waiter" to lower the volume to which he replied harshly: "NOPE" . Nice way to answer a customer. Perhaps fine for a bar patron but not for someone seeking dinner. We should have walked out at that point but didn't want Thai or Pizza which were the only other restaurants in the area. Two of us ordered the battered fried fish and fries and a third person ordered a patty melt. After too long a wait for the food ordered, the food finally arrived. The patty melt was far too greasy, all of the fries were soggy, not crisp and the fish was reasonable but not seasoned in any way. Rather bland. None of the food we experienced offered any reason to recommend it. The bill was typical for Seattle. The atmosphere is great to get drunk but not to dine. Bring ear plugs if you value your hearing.

Not worth the wait.

By Gary H |

Good luck finding a waiter. Worst service ever. You have to physically get one by chasing them around the bar.

Where I want to when the Apocalypse comes

By Yeagerstinks |

Absolutely hands down my favorite “Cafe” in Seattle and runner up on Ethel west coast. As usual the staff makes or breaks an establishment. Everyone was amazingly unique and seemed completely enjoying themselves making us immediately feel welcome. The food was delicious and amazing everything one could want and the menu creator seemed to share my sweet tooth. From dissecting all of the hilarious gems hidden in the decor to people watching which we know is out of vogue but f you if you can’t take a joke. A line out the door for good reason. A must stop. And tip like professional not a puppet. These people are trying to make a living staying open 24 hours a day. And yes I’ve been there three times after midnight with insomnia and I’ve always found a healthy dose of realness. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to return,

Nice atmosphere, great food.

By cindyaryan |

Huge portions. We ended up sharing a few meals amongst the 7 of us. My son and I shared beer battered fish with fries. It was absolutely incredible. We sat outside and enjoyed people walking by. We tried the local brew which was also fantastic.

summer in seattle

Dive bar gem

By Bekahblake |

Better than your local dive bar. Excellent service, food was delicious and wait staff ( babe ) was amazing. This gave a whole new meaning and standard for a dive bar to me. Cheeseburger was amazing as well as the turkey sandwich!

Worth the wait

By Esther |

Excellent food. Big portions. The French toast was quite yummy. Really nice wait staff and host. I rated it a 4 only because my husband wasn’t crazy about his omelet; thought it didn’t have much flavor to it.

Long time seattle hangout is ready for the virus — or anything else

By Kenpasha |

Average here means “good”. Breakfast place in the morning, bar at night: what’s not to like? My wife and I are regular visitors in Seattle and on Sunday I walked up the street for breakfast at FPC. What I found was a crew of guys who looked like they were ready for any trouble (I suppose that means, occasionally there is trouble?) and who served up a great breakfast. You need a sense of humor here, as you will be sitting at the bar enclosed on three sides by plexiglass. Just go with it. My server kept refilling the coffee, which was fine. I had two eggs sunny-side up and read a textbook. The place has a long presence In Seattle, going back to 1929. Fun experience. The breakfast was a little expensive, coming in at $20 — but hey, these are emergency times. So no worries. Keep up the good work people.

Unique decor diner with Outstanding service

By Peggy B |

Visited twice during our stay. Each time the service was fun and friendly. The atmosphere was great. Loved that they would customize any variation of something on the menu for you. The portions were more than generous. The decor is funky and fun. I would highly recommend this diner.

Good pub food

By Allan |

This restaurant was an easy walk from our hotel. The food was very good, and my wife had a hamburger and I had the Reuben sandwich both with fries. Both sandwiches were very good and delicious. Well worth eating here.

Great place

By Ann H |

We loved this place.Food was great and our servers so friendly. We had everything we needed .Happy hour prices are fantastic

Authentic and worth the wait

By smahk13 |

We had breakfast at the "dvie bar" side. So many authentic and interesting items to look at. "Please don't do coke in the bathroom". OUr breakfast was well prepared and tasty. If you are game for out of the ordinary - go for a drink or bite to eat.

incredibly dirty

By Peter B |

Restaurant was not very busy, but still had to request ordinary items many times, such as drinks, condiments . Pot roast was very dry and overcooked.

Unacceptable way to try customers whom support local businesses

By Valeria A |

The guy on October 11 at 3:00 pm ! Unacceptable his manners to yell us in front of everyone just because we seat in a 6 people table instead in a 2 people table. Dramatic and uneducated out of control. We just leave the place and never come back to this unsafe place.

Excellent 24 Hour Cafe

By Popadoo |

Popped in at 4am for an early breakfast. Fabulous food, wonderful bar tender, great conversation. Highly recommend x

Mediocre Food & Service

By JAX0556 |

Food just okay. Nothing great. Fries required lots of salt and even then felt like the crumbs at the bottom of a bag. Service nonexistent. Never filled our water just took order and came back with check. Bathroom was disgusting and didn’t lock. Just avoid

Perfect diner breakfast!

By GoodAdvice12345 |

We had The Mess and French Toast. The Mess was great version of a skillet. The French toast was pretty standard. The Bloody Mary next table looked tasty too. If you’re hunting for good diner food in Seattle then head that way.

Emitting the Seattle vibe!

By Nyormirror |

A local referred us to this 24-hour cafe with great food; he was on point. We were seated immediately in this tight-fitting dual-sided cafe/bar. I enjoyed an avocado BLT, and my son enjoyed his country-fried steak breakfast. Low-top and bar seating, a full bar, eclectic and witty staff, 24-hour breakfast, excellent service, low light, somewhat loud, and a unique atmosphere. Seattle prices but still competitive. 5% service fee. It definitely will be a memorable Seattle experience.

Worse than bad service

By Rebecca E |

Out of towners, looking for food near space needle found 5 Point… should have heeded reviews that mentioned bad service, it was terrible. We didn’t even make it to the food. Server was aloof, didn’t even hear the full drink order before he’d turned and walked away and then brought the wrong drink and set it down without even looking at us . We tried to get his attention, he didn’t hear us or turn around to look at any point. We waited about five minutes to order but he didn’t come back even though he was just standing at the bar. We could see him but he seemed completely oblivious to us. We felt a little concerned that he food service would be just as bad so we left.

Terrible service

By O D |

Terrible staff service. The food is regular and flavorless. The fries were all burned. They should improve service...

Hot spot to eat some good food

By TodandTiff |

The restaurant was packed with people seating outside waiting for tables. It seemed super busy but we only had to wait about 15 minutes. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Highly recommend

Loooong Wait for Loooots of Very Good Food

By David M |

They warned us we could wait for an hour before being seated. They weren't kidding. Fortunately we were able to grab a couple of seats of a bench and enjoy some people-watching while we waited. Yes, it was an hour on a very fine Sunday afternoon before we were ushered into the restaurant, but it didn't seem especially burdensome. Surprisingly, as crowded as it was, it wasn't overwhelmingly noisy. Servers were cheerful and efficient. And the servings were generous. Really generous! No way to go home empty from this place! For all of that, though, the food is quite good and comparatively inexpensive. It was a nice place to spend some relaxed time.

An Iconic Locale

By johnmM754OI |

Truly an iconic locale. This place apparently has been here for a long time, and it was very full the night we were there. Food and drink was good, served with little flair, but that, to me, was part of the schtick. Not the cleanest place in the world, but passable. We enjoyed all the signs and pictures on the walls. Server seemed a little put off that we made him work, but he got over it. One of our group loves liver and onions, so he was thrilled, and he said they were very good. Give it a try.

Cool place great food

By Bigdaddypubfan68 |

Cool local bar with great food. Drew was Johnny on the spot with coffee. Great meal and experience. 24 he bar/restaurant

24 hour diner

By Natz |

First evening in Seattle and went for a late meal. Firstly - remember your passport if you are not American and do not hold a driving licence from one of the 50 states. We were not allowed in (even though I am 34 and my partner is 43) without our passports! Thankfully hotel was close by so could go back to get them. If you want a fine dining experience - this isn't it, however if you want an amazingly tastey burger and beer, 5 point cafe is where to go! Food and beer both great and not over priced! It is a Seattle institution and operates 24 hours a day, serving alcohol for 18 or so of them.

Good food

By Shelly N |

We just randomly picked somewhere to eat and boy are we glad we picked here. The food is great. I recommend the French toast! You won't be disappointed. The staff are super friendly.

Dive Bar Excellente!

By Ed S |

Have eaten and drank here before. It remains one of best dive bars ever. Service is good, bartenders and customers are very interesting. This time we had wings as well. Some of the best ever - a pleasant surprize.

Great Find in the Emerald City

By AF6096 |

We were in Seattle for a couple of days before our cruise departed. My G/F and I love a good diner breakfast. This billed itself as that with a divey component. We LOVED IT. Total dive bar and they don’t’ apologize. Clearly a locals favorite. We ordered standard breakfast fare. Food was tasty and hot. Coffee service was on point. As much as they like to say they bring attitude with the service, everyone was extremely friendly and gracious. It’s definitely a Seattle landmark you must try.

More greasy spoon than Dive Bar

By Robert S |

This place has a great back story. Preston, Frances and Dick were great characters. It is a basic eatery and nothing more, and they are proud of it. The menu is huge and the food is mediocre. They really push their image to the max, so it is fun to watch, but but not so much to dine. Everyone should visit here. it might bring home that this big fancy, shiny city has a gritty working class history. Sort of like the image of Pioneer Square.

What an incredible find ..

By PhileasPhil |

What an accidental find this was…Exceptional burgers and beers and great staff.. Theres a queue outside for a reason. The onion ring .. The fries And the beer 100/10

The Chicken Fried Steak rocks, and so does Sean!

By HoserRacing |

The restaurant sets the tone with its sign for bad customers to go away. Go here for good food, unwinding and good service. Sean was a great water, service was great, and the food was very good. I had the chicken fried steak (breakfast), and the cook understands fried eggs over medium better than 90% of the cooks out there. Not burned, not runny, just enough yolk to spread around without going all over the plate. I also asked for crispy hash browns, and they delivered. Again, not burnt, not soggy, browned just right so that you get a crunch when you put them in your mouth. The sour dough toast was great. My daughter had the burger, and it was delicious. My son had the Mac & Cheese, it wasn't bad, but not the home run the other items were. Sean was also super friendly, when we told him we were tourists and where we were going, he gave us recommendations and a warning about one tour we were planning on doing (the environment, not the tour). As a father, I greatly appreciated his advice. If I'm ever back in town, I'll be back here for a meal.

The 5 Point cafe in Seattle.

By debStLouis |

The Reuben was great. The slaw was good. The fries were a little soggy. The Philly cheese steak was good. The service was fast and friendly. Interesting place. Nice hang out.

Awesome!

By 14jkc |

It's almost like a rite of passage and you must go here when visiting Seattle. We went for a late lunch and the portions were so big that we didn't really have dinner that night. Lots of beers plus a full bar. Sean, our waiter, was so funny, friendly, and accommodating. The decor is totally entertaining. We usually like to sit outside, but the bar side of the restaurant was so fun that we stayed there. Food was great and there is something for everyone on the menu. Just go here!

Tucked Away Tavern

By Stacey C |

This lovely old school tavern is exactly as described! Between the charming interior, fun staff and great food, you will never want to leave! This is a must!!!

5 Point Cafe Seattle

By Connie C |

What a fun place . Great food and attentive staff. Thanks Alex The selection of sandwiches and burgers can’t be beat. We wanted to come back and try the burgers but our time in Seattle didn’t allow. Go for the funky ambiance.

Food was Delish

By Sharon T |

5 Point Diner was close to our hotel and came highly recommended, food was delish and reasonably price, large portions and friendly service. We arrived just in time for happy hour. had dinner the first night and went back to test the breakfast, again no brainer.

Stayed 4 nights in Seattle and ate here twice!

By Megs867 |

We stopped by after getting off of an Alaskan cruise we were kind of tired and hungry but also killing time before check in at the Vrbo. We set outside and had Steve (?) for a waiter. He was very friendly and told us about the area and introduced us to cheese curds with honey (YES I said honey)they were amazing. The food was scratch made and delicious. I had a Philly cheesesteak and my boyfriend had the local fresh halibut and chips. We both really enjoyed lunch. We came back on our last night very late (they are open 24 hours) and ate the exact same meal. We had a different waiter. He was a little more blunt but still a good waiter. If you’re staying in or near Belltown I would definitely recommend.

Never again

By Doug P |

We went to 5 Points for lunch during our visit to Seattle - what a disappointment. When we arrived, the "host" asked how many, we replied 4 and he immediately turned and walked away with no indication that we should follow. He was about 15 feet away before he looked back and rudely told us "This way!". The place was dark and dirty; the bench cushions were worn out (so the table was halfway up your chest when seated). The waitress was fowl mouthed as were the other staff with f*** this and f*** that being used routinely. Service was poor, and the food mediocre at best. The bathrooms were disgusting! I don't know how some people can give this place 5 stars.

Maybe, their day was just off

By LouAnn R |

This place came recommended by a local. A short walk from the Seattle Center. The menu was grand and the food coming out appeared good. We did see a family having a questionable discussion with a server and they got up and left. After a long day of site-seeing, we were hungry. We sat at the outside area. We (there were 4 of us) ordered beer and dinners. Our meals took quite a long time to come out. Once they arrived, each meal bordered on cold. One dinner (turkey and stuffing) was so cold that it was sent back to the kitchen to be warmed. The server actually got an attitude about this and simply was not very nice. Finally the dish was brought back to the table and it was not much warmer than when it came out the first time. What...no microwave??? Our meals would have been much more tasty if warmer. And the attitude of the server was simply uncalled for. We asked for boxes and paid the bill and left. Our experience was not a good one. And, I am someone who tries to look at all of the good sides and I rarely give a bad review. Just have to rate our visit low.

Amazing! Must check out

By atlmichelle4571 |

Part dive bar, part diner, little risque, but can still be family friendly, we loved it! Took our kids for breakfast and the food was on point, service was amazing, loved the dive vibe and we just had a great time. Saw a line out the door later that day, so be prepared to wait unless you go early for breakfast.

Cool atmosphere!

By Raj M |

We visited this place for lunch and would visit again. Service was fast. Staff was great. Food was good with good portion size Great atmosphere

Poor, poor, poor

By DanToledo |

Waited well over 45 minutes to get seated. After that, ignored for quite some time. When I finally got the waiter's eye, I was informed, quite brusquely that he was "very busy" and would get to us when he could. He had maybe four to six tables and some bar patrons. I do note that he was not too busy to walk around a good deal, having a good time with his patrons that seemed to be regulars. Finally ordered and after we were about to walk out, our food finally come. Average, overpriced for what it was. You will get better service and food at a Denny's or Waffle House and not twice as expensive as it should be. Don't bother with this "Icon", they are living off the past, when they may have been something, at one time. Maybe if the service had not been so poor, they could seat and serve people faster. One thing they were honest about was the neon sign that said, "We cheat Tourists-N-Drunks since 1929".

If you like stickers this is for you

By Mr.Sm1th |

Very interesting place close to the Space Needle, seems like there is always a wait for a table which tells its own story, I guess. The food was great, the waiter very nice and attentive. The décor is very different with some very interesting political stickers!

Staff Harassed Us

By avnimehrotra |

Staff harassed us. We were extremely polite and made the grave sin of asking for a table when there were empty tables, and saw others prioritized over us. One guy asked us to take the table and another asked us to get up and go back to the bar even though we were given the table. There clearly seemed to be a communication gap, which I thought of clarifying. (I know how chaotic restaurant Ops is, I come from a lineage of restaurateurs) I thought I was being an accommodating patron, (especially given the communication gap) I went and highlighted this very politely and they started shouting as us. We should have immediately walked off, but I am used to a certain sense of reasonability in hospitality, (having generationally seen this industry), and was quite flabbergasted and didn't expect a legendary place such as this to treat guests with such disdain. There's something known as having a bad experience, but being harassed by a restaurant chain is different. I said you guys aren't understanding what I am saying -- either it's my language which isn't clear or you're just racist or you are just refusing to treat us nicely. I wish this place shuts down for the harassment they subjected us to

Fabulous Breakfast!

By Phyllis T |

We had the crab cake Benedict....was sooooo good, along with hash browns. Stopped by later for the Bloody Mary which was very good as well. Definitely worth checking out!

A great find, local vibe...

By Boester |

A 3 minute walk from our hotel, we read the reviews and gave it a try. From the moment we were greeted outside to the table service in the bar we were made to feel very welcome. The service was excellent, the yummy food arrived quickly = A great formula for a wonderful experience. The jalapeño poppers were out of this world, the Reuben sandwich the best we've ever had. We wished we lived local and would become regulars.

Great breakfast, great entertainment

By Holger N |

It is not usual to have breakfast with Rock and Popmusic entertainment. Here you got it. A little crowded on sunday morning, but the staff take care of you

Very good breakfast

By drrosenthal |

My coworker and I went here for breakfast. I am glad we did. The food was very good. The restaurant is not much for the décor but worth a visit for the food. We both had the Tilikum slam and I would recommend it.

Inattentive and rude.

By Jeff C |

The wait staff is inattentive and rude and the food is just okay. Our water was never filled and the only time we were talked to was at order and check out. We will not go back.

Great food and wonderful service!

By robin b |

The food was excellent....Mamma's meatloaf was soo tasty! And our server, Craig, was a hoot! Treated us like he had known us forever...awesome! Definitely a place to go to and sit outside and eat a great meal!

Really cool “hole in the wall”

By NoahandBen |

I thought this place was great. I loved the dive bar atmosphere. It is not really a dive but gives off that atmosphere. The food was diner type and delicious. The service was more than fine.

Good food but attitude

By Sandy C |

We wanted to eat like a local so chose this restaurant for lunch. We were seated in the bar area. Our server was unsmiling and brusque. I asked for a beer menu. He came back and threw it on the table. I tried to be really nice so that he would be as well (after all they have a sign that says something about being nice). My niece and I thought maybe the rudeness was the place's schtick like Dick's Last Resort. While waiting for our food I noticed they had pull tabs. I went up to the bar ready to buy some. I waited a few minutes (at this point there was only 1 other occupied table on our side of the restaurant). One employee ignored me. Our server finally walks up and says abruptly "What do you need?" I said "pull tabs" and he said "we're not selling those" in a super gruff manner. Mmmmkay. There was no posted sign with pulltab hours so how was I supposed to know? I thought maybe he was just having a crappy day but he was sure laughing and smiling with his coworkers. Anyway the food was very good. Service was just yuck. I have never felt so unwelcome in a place that I was spending money.

Would never come here again

By Diana Z |

The rudest 'host' and washer EVER. When I asked if they had bagels his answer was, "No. what do you want to order?" When we were met by 'host' he asked how many. We answered "two". He immediately turned around and started walking away. We didn't follow, didn't know wif we should. He then yelled over his shoulder, "come on". This service is acceptable for some people, just not for me.

Awesome dive bar.

By mochalab |

An amazing dive bar! I strongly recommend the deep fried cheese curds - and definitely the best is with honey. No nonsense. Straight shooting. Great sense of humour. Thanks Sean for the great service and for the good suggestions.

Great food and service! Highly recommend it!

By j_wenner |

We had a great dinner at Five Point Cafe on 5/26/23. It came recommended by a local person as well as our hotel front desk. The bartender that waited on us was so friendly. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very fun! I would highly recommend this place.

good food, great service

By Stephenbkk20156 |

We were a big group and this place was busy. Did we mind waiting? Of course not. We waited. Not much space in the entrance way but we tried to keep out of everyone&s way. When we were coming to the end of our patience, the staff started to take action. Tables were pushed together. Extra chairs were found. Soon we were all seated and examining the menu. Good food arrived in no time, along with smiles, patience and understanding from the staff. We all ate our fill and still there was food left. Paying, for such a large group could have been chaotic but the staff approached it with calm and professionalism. What started with a fairly long wait ended up being a good evening out, thanks to the kindness of the staff.

Looks can be deceiving.

By starchaser19832019 |

This place was AMAZING. It looks like your typical dive bar, especially on the bar side. But the food was to die for. Went for breakfast and got the french toast. OMG!!! My mouth is salivating thinking about it now. I highly recommend checking them out. They do get quiet busy, so be sure to get there early.

Avoid

By Jackie B |

I’ve been in the hospitality industry for 10 years and I’ve never seen such bad service. Leaf blowers were blowing dust outside so we wanted to sit inside he said we don’t have room. We said that’s okay we’ll do two separate parties, but nope not allowed. He said we don’t do that here. There are better places to spend money. This was at 8 am it wasn’t busy.

Interesting attitude diner

By Richard Hildebrand |

Tried 5 Point Cafe for dinner as we were looking for a casual diner and this looked like just the place. Had the Monorail sandwich and some wings, both which were tasty. Service was good. The place had interesting signs to check out while waiting for the food, which came quickly.

Amazing find

By Beck_and_Jai |

We were in search of brunch while in the area and stumbled on 5 point... what a find!! They offer a vast menu of brunch and lunch/dinner. The food was absolutely amazing and there was service with a smile. We were fortunate to snag a table out on the front deck to enjoy the day!

Great place

By John E |

Really enjoyed a late night meal and breakfast two days later. Food was very good. It does get crowded so don't be surprised if you have a wait. By far and away the best part were out waiters and the service. Both were really prompt and kind. They also were happy to spend some time chatting. . Will return

Breakfast spot...

By Toast2012 |

We came in this morning for breakfast reading the reviews as they were amazing. We sat at the bar for breakfast and had an omelet with impossible burger and eggs and toast. The food was ok, good music but really loud so couldn't really hear each other talk. Service was ok, but nothing special. Massive portions. Good options for a veggie as impossible meats.

Five Point Five Star

By meeyu |

Didn't expect fabulous food anywhere upon late night arrival into town. My meatloaf plate with mashed potato was delicious. A few days later I got it again for lunch before leaving Seattle. The burly waiter was nice, he joked with me, "second round." Easy price, real food, welcoming hospitality.

Loved It!!!

By Brenda J |

Great people great food. Very friendly and accommodating. Wish there were more like this around everywhere. We ate there twice because we liked them so much. We only stayed two night. Breakfast

Excellent Breakfast and Giant Mimosas

By Katie F. |

We had to wait 20-30 minutes given that it was a Saturday morning and we had no reservations, but it was worth it. The portions were giant, and my mimosa was served in a pint glass, as the gods intended. Our server (doing double duty as the bartender on that side) was lovely. They were slammed, and despite the business, we were well attended to. The jukebox was playing my jams the whole time. Excellent experience.

Great place! Great breakfast. Jukebox plays fun music.

By G S |

Excellent home made food, great decor and staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. Great music, too. Highly recommended!

Food was amazing

By Kim65NJ |

We stopped here on our way up to Edmonds and the food was amazing. There were 6 of us, we all ordered something different and we all loved what we got. The French Toast with custard and fruit was my favorite. I've never had anything like this. It's a small place, with indoor and outdoor dining, so be prepared to wait or better yet get there at an off time. We got there about 11:30 and had about a 15 minute wait for party of 6. Our waiter was busting his ass as both hostess and waiter and did a fabulous job.

Fun place, good food

By cmw133 |

We had a good meal here with our two teenage kids a week ago. It doesn't necessarily look like the kind of place that would have a good salad, but my cobb salad was amazing! So delicious and fresh! I would go back again if we were in the area. Our server was a lot of fun too.

Best burger ever

By RichardN28 |

Three (of 4) had burgers here and we all decided that they were the best we'd ever had! Close to the Space Needle, we came for dinner and helped ourselves to a seat. Service was very quick, and although perhaps a little impersonal - which was perfect for us - was very efficient. The food was outstanding. We all really enjoyed it but the burgers were very much the star of the show! The place is more cafe than restaurant but is very hospitable and a great place to be. Well worth a visit and it might even be 24hr - check the website but it is definitely worth a visit.

Weekend

By Donovan D |

24 hour cafe served great food portion size huge and service prompt. Server male seems nice too busy to have a long chat but he was friendly. Had a meal in the afternoon. Gets really busy as it’s popular with emergency services. Great find.

Yuck!

By bwhalen42 |

Come on other reviewers! Let's be honest here. Seattle has some pretty good food choices, but this is NOT one of them. The upper Belltown area near the Space Needle is lacking of places for a family to go for a quick, affordable meal and I believed the hype about this place on Tripadvisor before I went. Pot roast was dry as sand, the kids mac and cheese and burgers were meh; although the wife's club sandwich looked pretty good. The server was very nice and the bartender gave me a nice pour of vodka(thank you). My biggest issue is how gross it was. The inside was a very sad bar and grill straight out of central casting. The outdoor dining where I was had a THICK layer of crude/dust on the window sills next to use. The 57 sauce I tried must have expired in 2004. Almost no attempts have been made to wipe down menus or condiments. I was embarrassed to recommend this place to the family. The 5 point cafe is where you go at 2:00 am to get that night cap and/or that super early breakfast; its nothing more than that.

COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL AND UNACCEPTABLE, SPECIALLY ON CHRISTMAS EVE.

By Kenya O |

1 Star if I could make it a zero I would. Completely Disrespectful and Unacceptable, Especially on Christmas Eve This was one of the most uncomfortable and disrespectful dining experiences I've ever had and it happened on Christmas Eve, of all days. All I asked for was an extra bowl for my child. That's it. If that wasn't allowed, it could have been explained calmly and professionally we're not from the area so we were not aware. Instead, the waiter responded with hostility, attitude, and a level of rudeness that was completely unnecessary. What made it even worse was that it didn't stop there. Another waiter joined in from the back, loudly and aggressively, making comments that were clearly meant for us to hear. Being talked about and addressed from across the restaurant is humiliating and unprofessional, and it escalated an already uncomfortable situation into something outright unacceptable. The tone, the looks, and the way we were spoken to made it very clear we were being singled out. We were not treated with the same respect you expect any paying customer to receive. Whether intentional or not, the behavior felt discriminatory and targeted and anyone (even more POC) who has experienced that kind of treatment knows exactly what it feels like. To be clear, we had no problem taking our food to-go so my 6-year-old and I could eat together peacefully. That solution was never an issue. The issue was the attitude, the public disrespect, and the complete lack of basic decency shown toward us. As we were leaving, I still tried to take the high road and said, "Have a good day," only to be met with, "I will now that you're leaving." That comment alone says everything about the kind of service and culture being allowed here. No family especially on Christmas Eve should be made to feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, or unwelcome over a harmless request. This experience was disappointing, upsetting, and completely avoidable. Management seriously needs to address how customers are treated, because this level of hostility should never be tolerated. This waiter was older balding man in his 40s probably mad he's probably going to be stuck there for the rest of his life. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE

Cruising Seattle on foot

By Scott J |

You can't beat the chicken fried steak breakfast. I split it with the wife, and it was amazing. Happy hour is tops for Seattle, we'll be back for new year's! Bartenders have plenty of personality HAHAHA!

The staff is rude, and the food is tasteless.

By Elena I |

This cafe is only known for being open 24 hours, but the staff is impolite and the food is flavorless. If you order a hamburger, the meat will be overcooked and dry. They charge extra for additional mayonnaise (1 dollar for a spoonful) or if you want to swap fries for a salad. I strongly advise against visiting this place.

Great breakfast at a dive bar

By Cecilia |

We went here for breakfast this morning before our Alaskan cruise. We like every other we ordered, especially the Custard French Toast. It was heavenly. The service was good. I like the covid sign at the front door.

Great diner food in a classic bar setting

By Michael B |

Now, I went here with my 12 year old son just because the menu looked pretty good and we were hungry. We had chili and it was awesome. I had a couple great beers. We thought it was a pretty cool place. Just be aware, it's not really a family restaurant - music was pretty full on (but we liked it) and we couldn't sit in the bar half of the restaurant. But when you're on a father son bonding trip, what the hey.

Energetic, Happy Place to Visit

By Andrew E |

A loud, funky place that I would generally not go to, but my friends wanted to give it a try and I was game. Very happy with the Veggie Rueben. Very good fries. An energetic, interesting place to visit.

Just OK

By Tony F |

Visiting Seattle and wanting to eat where the locals eat, was told about this place, it was busy on a Saturday morning. Staff busy could be a little nicer. We waited for about 25 minutes, once seated took about 5 minutes to take out order, food showed up, and not what I ordered.... I asked for no hash browns, they were served, I ordered instead of hashbrowns Grits. I had to remind the waiter about them. They were not fresh at all, I should have sent them back, the ham steak I got was bigger then said on the menu (positive) and delish. This is a neighborhood joint, locals love it, it was just OK.... They do a good business on the weekends

EAT HERE!

By mrpesce |

Went to breakfast with the entire family and was surprised by some of the signage. This place pulls no punches, they know what they are doing and if you don't like it, go somewhere else. The food is amazing and plentiful. We asked for a beer list and the owner/manager told us to tell him what style of beer and he would bring it to us. I can't complain about a thing. When in Seattle I would definitely go here.

It’s a classic

By I_Relax |

Okay, let’s get down to the bare facts. This is a bar restaurant. It’s service is fine and the food is pretty good. I’m surprised they have such a variety on their menu. I’ve only sat on the bar side so, I’m not sure how it is on the other side. Anyway, this place is a classic. You need to stop here and have a drink and get some food. I’ve never had a problem with the service/bar staff.

Just Okay

By OrlandoGator |

We were seated outside on the patio. We ordered burgers and they were just adequate, nothing to brag about. The club sandwich was delicious and fresh. It took a while for the food to be delivered. We were in Seattle for several days but did not care to return for a second meal here.

Refused to be served

By Cori S |

We walked in there JUST for a drink as two couples. We were not served and stood there for 10 minutes. Talk about discrimination against straight people…total bs and will NEVER be back and will tell everyone about this. We weren’t even addressed… they weren’t busy. I work in the industry… inexcusable

Average

By Kayphil56 |

Average dive bar. Do not get why it’s legendary though. The staff were not the friendliest nor the most observant. Wasn’t the cleanest of places. The food was ok for what it was. Prices were reasonable. Probably wouldn’t go again though.

Good food

By Margaret R |

This was a great local place for a quick lunch. We had the hamburger and the fish and chips. Both were delicious. Price was good for this area.

Great dive bar/food

By raininroses |

We found this place when we were looking for breakfast mid-day. This place is very up front about what they are. They include all kinds, and you either like it/be tolerant or leave. We sat at the counter, and had a drunk person sitting next to me who was a regular. They are 24 hours, and very busy. The service, in that situation, was as expected. The food was great, and they were playing Guardians of the Galaxy 2 while we were there. I would come back.

Football vacation with a sad end.

By Melbaczuk |

We came to Seattle for a quick trip with shopping and football. Wanting to eat great local places we did some research and came upon this place. History was amazing. Reviews we’re good , menu was very good for everyone. Sadly that was the best we saw. We arrived and our friends had secured us a table outside as it was a busy night. 11 of us. We would not have fit inside anyway. It was 20 min before we were even acknowledged and drinks were ordered. Water came right away but some drinks were missed and when we went inside to get our order we were told to ask our server. Hard to do when no one checks on the table. Food came close to the one hour mark. Salad was great. Sandwiches were great. Tater tots seemed way over cooked. We gave most of the left overs to the street people hanging outside the restaurant. It was a disappointing meal for sure. If service had been a bit more present perhaps the wait would have been more bearable?? I understand that busy means less attention per table however no attention leaves irritated customers. The best part was, as we left, ( we had patio seats) the waitress threw all the left over drinks over the fence and splashed us as we walked away. Classy!!

Urban Diner

By j1000000 |

Sister restaurant to urban diner, Mecca, not too far away. Both share all-day breakfast and full meal menus. Located right near Seattle Center (Space Needle), We had the all-day breakfast omelets and they were very good. Nice covered outdoor area on a nice day.

Not a place for tourists. Very disrespectful staff, hostile environment

By Climber33740289419 |

Tourists or anyone with class or self respect… don’t bring your business here. It gives our city a bad rep :) The worst restaurant experience in our lifetime. Extremely rude, aggressive, hostile staff, and environment. These kids were not raised nor managed properly. Absolutely classless. I get it’s a dive bar, however, the careless behavior was over the top. The food is very basic, and drinks tasted like watered down liquid with zero flavor. For a great Seattle, try out Toulouse, Skillet Diner, Goldfinch Tavern, or The Hart and the Hunter, Peloton Cafe… Much better ambiance, food, and service for your time, money and peace of mind.

Five points for sure!!!

By Bernadette S |

Food was great, service was fantastic, and really enjoyed the place. We’d tried to eat here a few times but it hadn’t quite worked but persistence paid off. Can’t wait to go again. We all had different food off the menu (breakfast) and it was awesome. Coffee was tops.

Lunch

By paws0810 |

What a great restaurant. We sat outside. The weather was gorgeous. Inside is kind of cool. My sandwich was delicious. My husband’s turkey meal looked delicious also. The waiter was very attentive and pleasant. I did not like the loud music playing outside but the food was great but the price of the food is a little over the top $4.50 for a Diet Coke.

Just a great place to have some fun

By Valleyblue |

If you want some good pub food, a lively atmosphere, and to just have a good time, Five Points Cafe is a great choice. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable, and personable, and it's just a fun place to be. We ended up in conversations with the complete strangers at the tables next to us, it's that type of place. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic, elegant, Michelin star restaurant, Five Points isn't for you, but if you want a fun meal in a dynamic room, try Five Points.

First time here

By Ronald S |

I ate here for the first time pre-concert at Climate Pledge Arena. Decided to try here and eat an early dinner rather than eat something at Climate Pledge. Many things on the menu looked good. I had a mushroom Swiss burger with a good sized salad topped with apple pieces. All very good. Busy place and it seemed lots of regulars and staff was very jovial and friendly to all. Bathroom was all full of graffiti and other things. Seattle vibe but not really my thing but I guess that what it is and matches the environment. The food and the service was important to me.

Love this dive bar.

By brad1302 |

1st time in Seattle and spotted this place from the space needle. Checked Google and decided to give it a try. As a fan of Diners drive ins and dives I've always loved the look of a dive bar but had never been in one until now. They always say come for the drinks but stay for the food. The service was excellent and every suggestion for the food was on point. I had the Philly cheese steak and my partner had liver and onions. Both were excellent. Well we had to go back the following night and once again food and drink was excellent. If we lived in Seattle this would be our place to go to as the food, drinks ( one of the few places in the US that serves cider and it was far superior to the monkey piss served in the pubs in the UK) and the atmosphere is so good. Nothing like this back in the UK.

In a cold and rainy day...

By Nephty Hernandez |

Seattle under the restrictions of pandemic. December 30, hungry and we wanted to seat and eat with a cold beer. The places were closed for dine-in but open to take over. Also they allow tables at sidewalk but with the rain, nothing easy. Found this place and had a canopy with tables outside. Tables empty!! Few people but only a small percent could be inside. Waiting list and about a half hour, our turn. We liked it a lot. And looks that is an institution in Seattle. Great, hand made fresh burgers (big burgers) and a couple of beers. The service was exceptional with the owner helping. By chance, for the pandemic, found one of the best and iconic places in Seattle. And the Needle Tower, backwards. Be confident that when you go, you'll eat good with a great price. I'll go again.

"NO" complaints on food or venue, BUT > intimidating obnoxious waiter means no return

By Larry H |

The place is authentically American and a stroll from Space Needle and other major city sights, it has a fair menu and a bar. The legal drinking age for alcohol in Washington State is 21 +, and so it is fair and propper to request ID for anyone close to that age group. I learned from our waiter that an 'American' ID (only) or a Passport is acceptable as identification - for the sole purpose of proving one's age i.e. that one 'is' 21 or over if ordering an alcoholic beverage, I wanted a glass of wine to go with my meal, as did my colleagues. I am not a U.S citizen and so do not own an American ID; as is customary when travelling I had safely left my passport at the hotels' safe. However, I am almost 60 years old and as you can imagine this was plaintitively obvious - just to look at me. I proffered my UK drivers license which shows both my recent photograph and date of birth. Rather than accepting that, let alone even looking at it, he chose to loudly and aggressively rebuke me (in front of everyone) for apparently not understanding that I had to show an American ID or my passport and what bit of that did I not understand - he shouted "It's the law!" ... to which I have no issue with since it controls underage drinking, we also have the same law here in the UK (although it's 18+) . The whole episode was embarassing to myself and to my business colleagues, who were Americans .. and since I did not want to cause further embarrassment I stayed rather than leaving and ordered a non alcoholic beverage. To be fair to Seattle as a city, please know I did not have any similar experience elsewhere - I was never 'carded' in any other establishment, bar hotel or restaurant ... everywhere else didn't ask for ID as I am clearly over 21! This long bearded waiter (no issue with that, just don't want other staff there to receive any flak because of him!) at Point 5 Cafe has anger issues as well as having been quite ridiculous in all logic. My colleagues and I (all from a very large corporate multi national) will of coure not be dining there again, we were more than offended.

Rude Waiter

By FredandFrancis |

Left without eating. Never seen the likes of before. Is this Seattle’s best? Never ever ever…too bad.

Rocking good food!

By Alan K |

Fantastic rockin’ diner. The food was incredible and the service really friendly. Plus lots of tips on what to do in Seattle and surrounding areas! Highly recommended!

A bar/restaurant who survived big chains

By eric.c |

Independant, by people for people. Open 24h/24h ! I went there on sunday at 7 am...I was probably the only non local ! Friendly and fair prices. It took some time to be served and i saw some other customers waiting too. Coffee was just warm but not too much in fact and pancakes not warm enough as butter had a hard time to melt. In fact it is not very important as it is a real place for real people which i prefer to industrialised chains. I went there early for a breakfast and i had one. I had a gift coming out of the bar, i realised i was just in front of the statue of Seattle, the native to whom the non natives took his name to give to a city. Sometimes you are looking for food for the body and you end up having food for you soul. Thank you to the Five Point Cafe.

Disgraceful Server

By Upset Customers |

I witnessed a waiter be incredibly rude to some tourists at the table on the patio next to me. He raised his voice, snapped at one man and insulted another by calling him an a**hole. I have never seen anything like it. A disgrace.

High FIVE to FIVE Points

By Cigarband |

Took the family (7 of us altogether) here for our last dinner in town. It was an easy, quick walk from our hotel (Hyatt House). It's advertised as something of a dive bar & fits the billing. Unlike numerous others reviewing the place, we all had very good food. The menu is quite extensive and they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all the time. They are open 24-hours a day, making it a handy place to eat at odd times. The server started off a bit 'cranky'(it was a busy night), but warmed up as time went on. The food was very good; the service was efficient and the atmosphere was "funky". We'd recommend the restaurant.

Worst experience ever dining out for breakfast. Don’t go here for parties of 6 or more they will not accommodate

By Anderson B |

Upon arrival this morning we were greeted and had a party of 8. We were willing to separate and just looking for a hot breakfast. But they were not accommodating. Refusal of acceptance to separate and pretty much refusal of service due to him forcing us to sit outside. This servers attitude was apparent and not worth our time or our money. I guess next time I’ll say please to sit outside where they happened to be blowing the leaves and say thank you for the extra side of dirt in my eggs as this was completely an awkward experience not only to stand in front of the restaurant. But as the server would not seat us and as he proceeded to help other individuals to sit down.. I guess tourists are not allowed here or even welcome for that matter. I would hope this individual finds some peace in his life at some point because he deserves it and all we were trying to do is celebrate the life of my father with a nice breakfast in Seattle but he had to ruin it.

Fun vibe

By GB3VLO |

We stumbled across this cafe as it was walking distance from our hotel. We arrived for breakfast and there was a 30-40 min wait in the cold that wasn't fun. Once we were seated at the countertop, everything went great. The food was good and the fun loving vibe of the staff got our morning off to a great start. We had a great Bloody Mary as well

Breakfast in downtown Seattle

By jonathanwest |

Easily the best place for breakfast in downtown Seattle. We loved this place, friendly, authentic and full of atmosphere. A definite recommend!

not to miss

By nationalbiscuit |

Based on the reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect...this is clearly a local staple in the community that refuses to bend to the whims of the tourists that flock the area. I'm so glad we came here. The French toast was incredible. And the music...impeccable hits. Most reasonable prices for a delicious breakfast for miles!! I look forward to coming back.

Big Portions

By Walt |

Good place to eat. Big portions and the food is good. Potato Bacon Pancakes were very good. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was good

Great diner style cafe for breakfast and lunch.

By Colin G |

Great diner style cafe for breakfast and lunch close to the Chihully museum and Space Needle. A member of staff at the Chihully museum suggested the 5point cafe for lunch, excellent choice. Great atmosphere with an eclectic music choice, excellent food with possibly the best hash browns I've had. We returned here for breakfast a couple of days later and the food was just as good.

Snobs, Karens and mannered boomers should avoid

By Josef D |

It is what it is....a dive bar with an attitude. Food, staff and atmosphere match the expectation. My kids and I LOVED it, and my kids don't love much. Snobs, Karens and mannered boomers should stay away only because they ruin the aesthetic. When I go to a place like The 5 Points, the LAST thing I want to do is be seated near someone who imposes THEIR outsider expectations on someone else's businesses. It's perfect the way it is. If you're looking to have your rear end kissed, be treated like royalty or are a generally milk toast person, I'm begging you.... STAY AWAY. You're far too sensitive for this place.

Huge

By touron123 |

Stopped by for breakfast and had one of the best corned beef hash ever, all was great. Came back for a drink later. Both times amazing. Sericewas professional, friendly and prompt. Will be back.

I can see the Space Needle from here

By Scott F |

I’ve been to a lot of bars that n my life, and this place is in my top 3 all time places to drink or eat at. Staff are hilarious and welcoming. Food is amazing, drinks are strong, and it’s 24 hours. Of course booze isn’t sold all night, but you will find yourself hanging out for more than just a buzz. Jukebox is always accessible but if you play sh** music, it’ll get skipped.

Old School Bar & Cafe

By Ramblin Rose |

My son suggested the Five Points Cafe for dinner last night and we all enjoyed the “Old School” atmosphere and vibe. Even though the place was packed we were able to find a table and quickly received service. The drinks arrived quickly followed by our food which was delicious-I had the eggs Benedict, my brother had the fried chicken and my son had the burrito & quesadilla and all of us thought the food was fantastic. So, if you’re looking for the “Old School” atmosphere and vibe- look no further than the Five Points Cafe...you won’t be disappointed. RAMBLIN22 Enjoy The Ride Treasures4Sure

Easy & fast - but come on off-hour

By dgs5536 |

Friendly, unpretentious (rare in Seattle) and comfortable. Prices a bit high for a dive bar, but it is Seattle and even greasy food is expensive.

AMAZING BREAKFAST!

By Bassettfam1999 |

I am all about breakfast! Amazing omelet and Man-mosa. So glad we found this place while visiting the city. The music is loud and not kid friendly so if that's an issue for you, this may not be your place. The staff had an east coast vibe. Not rude but no fluff or bs. I loved it.

Go Hungry!

By 2doglady |

We were visiting downtown Seattle without a car and needed somewhere close by for dinner. We chose Five Point Cafe from reviews we read. The service was very pleasant, and the food was tasty and plentiful! If you want a booth, you will be on the bar side of the restaurant. I’d give it a thumbs up and would certainly consider another visit if in the area again.

No complaints

By Fireweed25 |

After not finding much in the neighbourhood near our hotel, we stumbled upon the Five Point Cafe. It was busy and with ‘seat yourself’ we chose seats at the counter. Quite the eccentric atmosphere - of both decor and staff along with a jukebox playing hard rock music. Loved the varied menu choices (that included many homestyle dishes like meatloaf, liver and onions, and hot beef or turkey sandwiches) besides the usual pub food. They are open 24/7 and also offer all day breakfast - great for steak and eggs at 11pm! Staff was responsive and though a small cafe, the lively atmosphere and cold beer made for a nice evening dinner. Portions are large so consider sharing. We enjoyed our food and ordered a slice of pie to go. No complaints.

Well, worth stopping if you were in the area

By HickBoy |

Stopped by here for breakfast since they are open 24 hours a day. Had the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was very good. Just looking at the other food they had brought out to others, everything looks really good and the portions are very big. I definitely suggest this place if you were in the area.

Great friendly staff welcoming and caring, filling dinner

By Paco |

It is one of those places that you have to try when visiting somewhere. It was the first night in town, ut was raining and we hiked up the hill to a place that bills itself as Alcoholics serving alcoholics since 1929. The wait staff was great, took care of us. The food was good and the kind that makes your tummy happy. Would I visit again? Yes, next time in Seattle. The place has a special vibe to it that is worth the experience.

Great Burgers and very interesting people

By Diane C |

This is the place to people watch! The staff alone are worth it! They also have great burgers. It's a good location on the Free Shuttle loop around Seattle attractions.

Excellent breakfast

By Alice m |

Great service, and a really great breakfast. Highly recommended. We got there just before 10am on a Monday and got very busy just after - recommend go early!

While visiting our daughter

By jamesbutler4 |

While visiting our daughter in Washington, we stayed at the Hyatt Place near the Space Needle. Five Point Cafe is less than a 5 minute walk from the Hotel. The food and the drinks were excellent. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Bad attitude

By Sandy M |

Was looking for a place to have lunch and came across this little restaurant/bar. We were a little put off with the attitude of the server at the bar but the food was really good. Not sure if he wants tourist in there or not but he was very friendly with the regulars. If you don’t want to wait and you are looking for friendly service don’t go here.

Good food, good beer but loud

By TravellingRings |

We were staying at a hotel within walking distance so decided to visit - good choice. We were there for an early dinner / Happy Hour. The wait staff was very accommodating as we had two little kids who both wanted pancakes for dinner - he suggested that they share one order, good call! We all enjoyed our food, but the nachos were the biggest hit. The music is a little loud, but they don't hide that info on their web site.

Great place to eat

By Kelli S |

The food and folks are all awesome. Took the family our first night visiting Seattle, my teen daughter liked the “vibe” so much at The Five Point, she wants to move to Seattle. My husband and I went back to bar side the following night. The bar tender, Sean, is by far one of the most genuine, hospitable bar tenders I’ve met. The food and beer was great both nights.

4am Nachos

By swjumbo |

Wide awake and hungry at 4am so searched for 24hour food online. What a lovely surprise. Dark on the outside, dark on the inside but amazing. The waiter/bartender who served has a dry but lovely manner. Nachos were so good we ordered pancakes which were equally delicious. If you’re in Seattle go, whatever the time!

Tastes So Good

By DrNBA |

My husand and I were starving after we landed. Found this spot and they were amazing! The liver and onions took me back to Granny's house and the vegan bacon and pancakes were great too! Great, friendly, welcoming, and serious about COVID-19 masks to protect everyone!

Love this place!

By becster_2 |

Great food, great vibe! awesome place to go for a meal and a drink at any time of the day! We were served quickly and our meals were delish. Great value for money.

French fries!

By Heather M |

Had lunch here yesterday. Went with lunch food instead of breakfast and so glad I did! Their French fries are to die for and the portion is huge! Never thought I’d come close to finishing them but I put a pretty good hurt on them. They were SOOO good!!! Waited about 35 mins on a Saturday afternoon to be seated but service and food were pretty timely. Highly recommend.

Waitress was worth the stop

By David B |

We stopped here around 11 am on a Wednesday and got right in. It was getting busier as we left. They call it a cafe, but the bar takes up half the inside. I think it's kind of the place to go for a drink if you want one before all the other bars open. Old building with lots of signs and pictures on the walls. I enjoyed looking around before we got our meal. My favorite sign in green neon: We only cheat tourists and drunks". One waitress was working and she was the floor show. Friendly, loud and funny. We started with their version of poutine which was good with fresh cut french fries. I had the the french dip which I enjoyed. Food was okay, not spectacular. Large portions filled us up to get through the rest of our day. A bit of a hole in the wall but worth stopping in just for the atmosphere.

Good food & vibe

By Aenneken |

I'm an early bird and was wandering around Seattle to find breakfast. I stumbled across this place. Here are my bullet points: It's definitely a quirky neighborhood spot, open 24 hrs. Not sure how I feel about the sign in the window: "Alcoholics serving alcoholics since 1929". They do have breakfast all day which is awesome and staff were very welcoming & helpful. I did find the servings too small though, especially considering the Seattle prices.

Breakfast

By Kevin C |

Food was great, good service but...the music playing on the jukebox was very offensive. I can handle a song or two but every song had explicit sexual content, and I am talking the raw variety. My wife and myself do not need to hear this for breakfast. And then the homeless guy pissing on the sidewalk out in front of the entrance. Probably never go back

Rude staff.

By Hilda A |

Terrible staff. Extremely rude. I don’t know if it was the owner or a waiter but we had to leave before ordering. Couldn’t stand the guy’s attitude…

Fun place to eat and drink

By Rocky y |

The five point cafe is a fun place to spend the afternoon or evening. Casual and a great location to watch people. Food id good drinks are good.

Friendly staff & amazing breakfast

By Julie L |

My husband and I are early risers and this place was open at 0630– so My husband and I ubered to 5 point and we weren’t disappointed. My husband had the salmon egg Benedict & I had an omelet ! SO delicious!! Also, Steve was our waiter and was super friendly & funny. He was constantly singing too :) nice to see people being joyful.

Fun atmosphere

By Algebrain |

I picked this place based on some of the funny passages in the menu. If you want to know whether this is the type of place for you, I suggest reading the menu first. The irreverent humor can be found throughout the restaurant. I only wish I knew there were so many stickers on the wall before heading here - I would've gladly brought one to add to their collection. Food was good - I had the custard french toast which was tasty and the fruit was really fresh. Don't hesitate to put some syrup on those bad boys. Even with the custard, it mixes really well.

Dump with "cool" notions about itself

By babsred21 |

An absolute dump which smells bad. It has pure notions about itself being "cool inclusive place" reality is thst it stinks, toilets are vile and is open 24 hours thsts why it's "cool" the server was rude , did offer the options included in our food and had to ask him and even then he was "oh yeah" he's really to old to be doing his job hence the sarcastic attitude. The food was greasy but edible

Great place and about two blocks from the Space Needle

By Dexter B |

I had breakfast here. Eggs, toast, hashbrowns, and bacon. They served me 4 long and thick tasty bacon and the hashbrowns and eggs were done just right! Cool atmosphere with 80's music playing (but not too loud). They have indoor and front patio seating. Service was spot on even though I had to wait about 10 minutes to get in. No biggie. I have to say it was the perfect restaurant for me, and if I lived near here, I'd be back often. I met two guys that were regulars for a few years. Walking distance to the Space Needed from here too. Only about 1 to 2 blocks are you are there!

great breakfast and lots of character

By KCLizard |

This is one of those quirky places that you love to find on trips. It is not far from the Space Needle in distance, but it feels far from the tourist center. The walls are covered with interesting pictures and signs, and the bathrooms are covered with graffiti. The servers were great, and our breakfast was reasonably priced for this area and very good. I would visit again!

Thank you Google maps!

By Sunny O |

We'd just visited the Space Needle and were looking for somewhere for Brunch when Five Point came up in our search. Just about 5 minutes walk away. There were quite a few people waiting around when we got there so we guessed it was a popular spot. We were told there was a wait of between 30 and 40 minutes but it was well worth it!

Must Visit Seattle Institution

By CaseyluvsSophie |

Fantastic vibe, room, attitude, staff and food! And some of the best caesars and bloody marys on the planet. Visited twice during our boys trip to see the Kraken, Gonzaga and Seahawks game. Perfectly located a block from our hotel, Hyatt House in Belltown right beside the Space Needle. Had breakfast first day. Crab benny was fantastic with generous helping of tasty meaty crab and amazing hash browns! Caesar was amazing too! Told waiter to make it a double and he replied not to worry as they make them very strong anyways. No line up for late breakfast on Friday but is was almost completely full. Went again Sunday after the Seahawks game. Was about a 20 minute wait but worth it. Was packed and hopping! Had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy, brocolli and red peppers. Very generous portion and it was delicious! Both visits the staff were awesome and service was prompt. The atmosphere and signage in this place are amazing. Combination greasy spoon dive bar vibe. Good value for money and lots of options on the menu. My buddies had cudos for their meals as well including the patty melt, biscuits and gravy and double Dick burger with fries. French fries were outstanding. Already looking forward to my next visit. The late great Anthony Bourdain visited and recommended it as well in the Seattle episode of the Layover. Love this place!

Good breakfast option with a cool grungy vibe close to the Space Needle.

By Selina C |

We were checking out breakfast options when staying 2 nights in Seattle (as didn't fancy the hotel type breakfast) and we were also picking up a rental car at Komo Plaza, so this was nearby & also had good reviews. We arrived about 9 ish & managed to get a little booth despite the place being fairly busy already. It's small inside, with 2 sections and an outside area too. We got a booth by the window so it was a bit lighter, but this is definitely a dimly lit, ambient, grungy, no-frills bar kinda place (which was cool!) so don't expect open, spacious, well lit pine tables with napkins & flowers on them! It took a while for us to get served, as the waitress was on her own and quite busy, but we were happy to wait and enjoy the myriad stickers on the walls - quite interesting viewing! Once we were sorted for our food order, we enjoyed a couple of cups of coffee & the waitress fired up the jukebox with some of her faves (which leaned towards punk/indie type music) and we listened along while enjoying the hearty portions of food. I have had better breakfasts, however the overall vibe & experience was memorable, the food was decent enough (and not too over priced) to warrant an overall 4 star review.

Good sandwich, long wait

By ANels_MT |

I had the monorail sandwich- really good. Downsides: it took almost 1 hour to get our food once we ordered (at 2pm on a Wednesday) and it was so dark I could barely read the menu.

good burgers and chicken

By Christine T |

This place has a good menu for comfort food, which is a treat to find on a rainy day in Seattle. I had the 5 point burger, which was very tasty, juicy with fries. The hubby had the fried chicken which came with an abundance of corn bread and turkey gravy,. we had to move to another table because the door was open and it was drafty. Service was adequate.

Bad service and not good food.

By James A |

I was told this place is 24 hrs and really good. The 24 hrs part is true. Service was lousy, slow and all I heard was one server complain to a new coworker about their personal issues. That’s what smoke breaks out back are for. I don’t want to hear that. Food expensive and not very good. I won’t go back if I was paid to eat there.

fun place with good meals

the place has a good vibe with decently priced food and a large menu the staff was friendly. the place is pretty busy

Diner Food Done Right

By Randall S |

On the recommendation of the folks at the Hyatt House, my wife and I went to the Five Points for dinner. We were not disappointed. It's a bit of a throwback to places my parents would take me back in the 60s with a menu to match. I had an open-faced roast beef sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes. It was fantastic. I also had one of the many local beers on tap. If you are looking for fine cuisine, look elsewhere. If you want comfort food in a comfortable setting--Five Points is for you.

Cool Hole In The Wall

By KC_Traveler--66062 |

My wife and I stopped by this cafe for a late breakfast before a fight out of town and we were so happy that we did. The cafe has an old school bar type feel and some colorful patrons. The cafe had a large and diverse breakfast menu. We both had French toast, sausage, and eggs; it's was fantastic! We would absolutely go back to the Five Point Cafe and you should too.

Rude and bad

By Naia Ō |

Extremely rude to our party of six. Charged a service fee that was not advertised in addition to our 20% large group gratuity. $90 for mimosas which tasted like pulpy orange juice with wine. Avoid at all costs.

Best if you are the right demographic.

By Sandra N |

We were the wrong demographic. We walked here from our hotel and wanted to sit outside but had to sit in the extremely loud bar. We had the choice of yelling at one another or giving up and just sitting. The server flung everything at us and seemed genuinely unhappy that we were there, although he was very fast and efficient. The food was great. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. Overall, I think if we were 25 years younger than our 65 years, this may have been a better outing. It just wasn't for us.

Little Chubby Guys Sausage - Yummy Breakfast

By Chris M |

Five Point Cafe was our intro to Seattle dining. We had jus arrived (bound for a Cruise to Alaska) and "locals" when we asked: "where do you eat?" ... answered ... 5 Point. Yes, our "kind of place," with quirky signs, quotes, upbeat staff and good food, great coffee! My hubby and I both had omelets and I asked for "seconds" of what I dubbed the "little chubby guys" link sausage. Will surely pass on to our buddies!

Great breakfast find

By julieandabbe |

Heard about this place from a local and did not disappoint. Great place for Sunday morning. I had the 5 point French toast which was 3 full slices. The taste of the liquors was not too strong. Are it all. My friend ate about 1/2 of her homemade corned beef hash- she only ate half because the portion was so large. Definitely home made. Came with 2 eggs and a couple biscuits she said were good. Would try this place again for another meal.

GREAT Lunch!

By KellyCord |

We enjoyed our lunch at Five Point. Our server was very attentive and the food was DELICIOUS!! We ate outside and enjoyed people watching. I wish we lived closer because we would eat there often.

Save your $$ and go elsewhere

By kdelagarzawardell |

Overall, food was cold and their French toast was like chewing on a piece of rubber. Very disappointed as people really hyped this place up. 2 servers and 2 cooks, but food was not tasty at all. Save your $$ and try McDonald’s 1 block away or elsewhere. Service: Lacks Food: 1 out of a possible 5 stars / not tasty Ambience: Nice bar scene Seating: Very cozy and at 100% capacity too

Cool vibe, not good breakfast

By zracoon |

We came for brunch and it had a huge wait so we figured it would be good. It has a nice vibe, sort of a day-drinking party atmosphere, but the food just wasn't very good. We had pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. It was all sort of ok, but the pancakes in particular tasted like they came from a Krusteaz mix. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, since otherwise this place is pretty well reviewed.

Heartburn on a Plate

By VinBlanc70 |

I almost always disregard the guy who posts the "terrible" review, when so many rave abut a place, but.....go for the dive bar experience. Have a beer, or two, but don't eat there. We took the advice of our hotel for an after 9 place to get something to eat. I had the Halibut and Chips....over deep fried frozen fish slab with wimpy fires. Had heartburn the entire night ! My wife tried to get through the Hot Turkey Sandwhich...she was up several times to the bathroom. Try the pizza place on the corner instead. I wish we had !

Chilling in Seattle for the weekend

By Cory b |

Just checking out Seattle for the weekend, found the oldest dive bar with the best burgers! From the outside it looks questionable but I recommend you go in and get a burger and a beer!

Breakfast Nightmare

By carmelperez |

I always come to eat breakfast here when I come to Seattle. ALWAYS. Can’t tell you the food has changed. We didn’t get that far. In the past, If there was a wait, they’d offer you coffee and allow you to sit outside on the tables. Not anymore. If you’re in line and don’t request a table, the snotty little, apparently new, hostess will put you at the bar then roll her eyes to the back of her head like she’s just been possessed by a demon if you ask for a table. After the possession, she then proceeds to tell you that you can’t sit at the tables outside anymore. And because we weren’t fast enough to get off the tables, Satan herself came out to kick us off the table. No big deal. Sure they don’t need our business. They’ll never get it again. Don’t recommend this place unless you want IDGAF Attitude and rudeness.

Great!

By iver0185 |

Great food with a fun atmosphere. Quirky little place not far from the Space Needle. Would go here again...really interesting place!

Awesome dive bar!

By Luv2Trvl |

Awesome dive bar with great food and service. Worth the wait. Loved the hilarious signs. The patrons are definitely a mix of our society where all get a satisfying, reasonably priced meal.

Breakfast at 5 point

By Christine O |

This little gem has been around a long time and is a local favorite Eclectic decor with lot' s of fun and interesting novelties. Lively juke box music. Absolutely packed with great service When in the area I will come back Great food.

I stop here every time I come to Seattle

By Carlos G |

Very busy and very fast paced, but we experienced less wait times than most places we’ve ate. The waiters are a little absent but that’s just due to how busy they are. The food is good and most plates are customizable. If you’re here to have a good time it’s a great place. If you’re going to come with bad energy you’ll stand out.

Great food.

By Cata1960 |

The food is delicious and they serve plenty of it. The ambiance is a bit frantic (loud music) but the wait staff are super knowledgeable and quick. We'll probably go back there next visit for sure.

Oof

By Ben P |

We waited an hour to get four peoples food in an only moderately busy time. 2 orders were plain wrong and the other 2 were cold. Paid $100 for 3 crap sandwiches and stadium level chicken tenders. Do not recommend

Fun experience

By Elaine P |

The best place! Just washrooms are gross, that’s about it. Service was excellent. 10/10 Came here with my friends, service was fast, fun, friendly. Very busy and popular.

Food was average, service was well below

By Vicki W |

We managed to get a table fairly quickly, but that is where the good service ended. We ordered and then it took at least 35 minutes to get our food. Our server was clearly aware of the delay- she never came to offer refills, explain the delay, or even speak to us at all. I intentionally tried to catch her attention and she overtly intentionally ignore us. The food was ok, certainly not worth that wait. My nephew ordered pancakes and they were very overdone. I would have sent them back but I was concerned about the even longer delay. The most shocking thing I notice was how could our food take over half an hour and still arrive cold (we were seated right beside the kitchen window ). The bill arrived and for four meals and two drinks it was $90 - that was the only part which amazed me. Can’t say I would be rushing to go back.

Interesting establishment

By Joe G |

We had breakfast here, and it was very good. Friendly staff, huge choice of food (too much in certain ways), very large portions. The chicken fried steak was lovely, the cinnamon bun was huge and tasty. Good selection of drinks. It is close to the space needle and other attractions, all in all we will go back when next in the area.
