Had me some outstanding red ale and heard fantastic music... cant wait to go back and try the food. We just stopped in stood in line guzzled our drinks , got back on the bus and away we went.. Want to see what so good about all the pie i saw getting slung..

The beer is consistently great. I love the atmosphere, too. We always get the caesar salad with whatever meals we order, it's way better than the potato salad, in my opinion. The menu rotates but their slices are always good and we typically get a sandwich as well. The best sandwich I ever had there was a pulled pork that had roasted whole garlic cloves mixed in somehow. I'll never forget that sandwich. The shrimp po-boy gets an honorable mention, too.

We had organized a tour of Austin for 34 friends and family during our daughter's wedding week. The tour organizer suggested a beer tasting and pizza buffet at ABGB. She allotted one hour and assured us that would be plenty of time. Everything was supposed to be ready when we arrived. The beer was very good. However, we were only served SIX pizzas for 34 people. We were there 75 minutes and left hungry. We were very disappointed with the service and were never provided an explanation on what happened? As we loaded back onto our bus, ABGB did drop four pizzas on the bus, but it was too little too late. Overall service and management attention was very poor!

Was here on a Sunday evening. Was very lively with country music band and people dancing. They have great choice of beer and pizza. Must visit again to catch another live music band playing.

Had the Bacon wrapped Shrimp. To Die For!! They have outdoor seating Live Music. Pet Friendly. Staff seemed like they really enjoyed working there. The Pizza was so GOOD! The BEER was the BOMB !!!! Would Definately Reccommend

Were looking for a unique pizza and beer experience and were not disappointed. Parking lit was full, parked on street several blocks away. Indoor and outdoor dining including large tables shared with other friendly patrons. Many local craft beers on tap. Very unique pizzas ordered at counter and delivered to your table. We had Brussels sprouts and shrimp/ham/fried egg. Pizzas were good, somewhat pricey but very festive atmosphere and live music. A unique Austin dining experience!

I was baffled by the menu at first because the pizza combos seemed so complicated. I ordered by the slice and i was surprised that even though there were a lot of oddball toppings, it all went together and tasted really good. All the ingredients were very fresh. This is a very popular pizza and beer spot. They have a lot of seating inside and outdoors. Dogs are welcome outside. Their tables are all picnic style and ideal for large groups. If you arrive during peak dinner or lunch time, you will be waiting in a long line to order, but it goes quickly. There is a beer kiosk outside so you dont have to waiting in the line inside if you need a refill.

We chose this place, as we LOVE breweries and it looked very cool from the outside and there were several cars in the parking lot. It was a Sunday evening and we read online that all ages are welcome. As we approached the building with our children, the music was loud, but bearable. We ordered food and a couple beers at the counter...the staff was not very helpful or friendly at all. Our beers that were poured were about 3/4 full, as the rest was spilled all over when being carried and sat down abruptly on the bar. Our food came pretty quickly, but the Brussels sprouts were so burnt, they were all black. The pizza was OK. But then the music got louder and the music choice was horrific. F this, F that, Mother F’er...every other word. No joke! Even if we didn’t have our kids, we would not have stayed. And we weren’t the only ones. Several people left and all had the same disgusted look on their faces. It was just so distasteful to listen to that while trying to enjoy your dinner and converse with family and friends. I felt like we were at a head-banging, heavy-metal concert rather than a local brewery on a Sunday evening. The profanity and excessively loud music was just not what we expected and when I mentioned it to the bartender as I was closing my tab, he stated, “Sorry you don’t like our music choice.” We walked out thinking, “No sir, I am sorry you consider that music and we will never come back to this establishment.”

Known as one of Austin's very best Craft Beer destinations. Beer, Pizza, & Music makes this popular spot right off of the South Lamar district of Austin, TX a must check out. Tons of indoor & outdoor patio seating create a uber casual feel. On top of the extensive Craft Beer, Ciders, & Wine, the Artisan Pizzas, Salads, & Appetizers give plenty of options. This is an actual Brewery and they brew all their own Beer.

This was a good place, however, loud and crowded. Good selection of craft beer made on premises. Live music. Hard to park.

If you are one of those people who plans trips around good brew pubs...or not, this is a good place for pizza and the beer is made onsite. The brewers are very competent and the selection of beers is very good. I like the big mama red myself as it pushes the limits of my pallet at 60 IBUs while delivering a very drinkable beer with a fine smelling hop aroma. The Pizza is more along the line of thin crust with fresh ingredients. On weekends there are bands that are...well this is Austin. How bad can they be? They are all good. I typically sit outside under the oak trees and just enjoy a nice day sipping a beer, eating a pizza and enjoying my family and friends. The occasional freight train will roll by blowing its horn and a faithful dog may be laying at the table in front of me sleeping in the shade. There are a lot of smiles at this place.

Wow - this place was recommended by our local friend in Austin. What an amazing place. Upon walking up, you see a gravel parking lot, lots of park bench type style seating with tents (it is not as blazes in Austin!), and a long warehouse type building. When you go inside you see the long bar with a great list of beers, more park bench seating, a live band playing fun music, lots of people 1-2 step and swing dancing, and a fun atmosphere. This is a place you can eat lunch/dinner, meet new friends, listen to music, and just hang out for the evening. The beers were really good and the slices of thin crust pizza ($3) were wonderful. The staff was very friendly. We bought some cool tee shirts with ABGB on them - $20 each. They also give some of the portion of $$ for one or two beers and an 'owl-logo' tee shirt to charity. We really enjoyed this place - it's not close to downtown but just an Uber away.

Great beer, great pizza, awesome service. Loved the atmosphere, relaxed, low key. Come here even if you don't love beer. 😊

Came here on Valentine's day. Not that most romantic place, but that was not what we were seeking. It is counter service so you place your order for food and drink. The tables are community so find a spot to sit and do not be afraid to interact with your neighbors. There is a stage for live music. Overall, the vibe and decor is pretty nice. The food was tasty. We one of the special pies (#5 -- the one with broccolini). This was a white pie. The crust was thin and soft. I thought it good. The flavor was mild. There was enough cheese but not too much. Overall, good pie. The 16 inch was more than enough for two people. I prefer this Pizza to the Jester King brewery. We had the brussel salad. Brussel sprouts seem to be all the rage. I have had better. I did not care for the combinations. The olives were over powering and drowned out the brussel. I would pass on this one. The beer. Well, I like IPAs and hoppy beers. I tried the superliner IPA. It was not as bold as I would like. It was a very mild IPA. It was OK, but I would never order it at another bar. We also had the Big Mama Red which was also OK. Again, the flavor was very mild...too mild for my liking. As a comparison, I prefer the beers at Zilker brewing and Jester King. I really like the ambiance and the vibe of this place. The pizza was good. The beers average. I will be back however. The overall experience is quite nice.

Casual atmosphere and fun for all! Worth the trip when in Austin Texas especially if your into beer or it's into YOU! Outstanding pizza though and great other food items as well. Check them out....you won't be disappointed!!!

Visited with daughter, son-in-law and 2 young grandsons and thoroughly enjoyed the pizza, music, dancing and atmosphere... we’ll be back! Fab!

We ate lunch there and found the place fairly slow during the holidays. It looked like a great place to go after work or in the evening to have a snack.

The beer at ABGB's is a cut above other excellent beer in Austin. The house IPA is especially delicious. The accompanying food needs improvement. The pizzas are edible but not worthy of a return visit. I keep hoping for improvement and the basic Margharita is better than others on the menu. It's fun location, good crowd-cheers.

Came to check out the brew pub scene in Austin. The beer is really good, the atmosphere is good too. Not eating this time but the food I've seen come out looks good. I would definitely come back.

The pizza was good - we had the sausage, Margherita and the special #1. We were not a fan of the speciality pizza but that was just our taste. The other 2 were very good. Beer was good. The live music was fun and loud. Parking is a mess and seating can be hard to find but overall, a good solid venue. Then location of the line for ordering did make it hard to see the stage so that did temper things a bit. That being said, it was good to see all ages of people at the location so there was a good vibe.

Great food, great beer and live music. If you haven't been here, you are missing out. This is one of best spots in Austin for craft beer.

I have been to ABGB many times the beer is uniformly excellent. The service is always done with a smile. Pizza is average but this is made up for with the excellence of the brews.

This place has good beer and good food. Apparently great pizza enough to bring in every family that has children under the age of eight. I have never seen more babies in a beer garden than I have today. I'm okay with nursing mothers that do it I public. I think it is not fair to have to 'eat' my meal (as a baby) in a restroom. that would be gross... So knock your lactating self out. I just found it odd that a nursing mom would whip out the breast and attach a suckling child to it while in the middle of a beer garden. I must assume Mama Beer makes a tasty treat.

I have frequented this Beer garden and Brewery several times. It provides a great selection of handcrafted beers and has a stage in which a variety of great bands have played at. I was fortunate enough to watch the Cornell Hurd Band and their talented musicians and wonderful country western music while I drank beer and socialized. It is a great place for family, friends and business associates. they provide great pizzas there and also a wide variety of affordable appetizers. they have picnic tables outdoors as well . It was crowded when I went there . Parking leaves much to be desired. come early before the peak hours of five pm to seven pm.

This is the place to go in South Austin for BEER! The brewers know what they are doing and have a good selection of brews available all the time. My favorite is Industry, a pils. The kitchen makes great food too. There is a standard menu with daily specials rounding it out. They use local produce and make everything in house. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The tables are long with benches, looks like your typical German Beer Garden. There is also bar seating with comfy bar stools. The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. They also offer a behind the scenes tour of the brewery, takes about 45 minutes, on Saturday afternoons-sign up online before you go.

I’m from Chicago and this thin crust pizza hits the mark! They have a nice outside area for dining and a large inside with live music. The beer was tasty. The staff was knowledgeable about the beer and friendly. I would come here again and again.

There live entertainment was a lot of fun to listen to. A great place to watch people. The Pizza are wonderful. The craft beers will make it hard for you not to enjoy what you like.

We lived in Colorado for awhile and this place was very reminiscent of a Denver brewery. The outdoor seating is picnic table style.... It was crowded the night we went but our pizza and beer came out quickly. It's a relaxing place to hang out and drink beers and they have live music which makes it even better. The pizza is very different along the lines of toppings and you can't customize the specialty pizzas but they do sell single slices of plain and pepperoni pizza if you aren't big into strange toppings.

Went here for lunch because it sounded interesting. Pizza and craft beer, what could be better? Well, we were not disappointed. We had sandwiches instead of pizza (although they did look good). I had the Italian sub and my wife had the turkey and avacado. Both tasted fresh and terrific. We had a pint of their SCHWARZBIER. Which is the closest one to my favorite, Guiness. They actually come pretty close to real thing. Enough that I would have it again. They have a stage area for live music, so I will have to come back again. There is also a "Beer Garden" which means I will have to try that out too.

Amazing pizza, beer, and bands! What more could you want? The outdoor seating is perfect. Love the vibe and the people couldn't be nicer. Love to come here with my kids and even more later with my friends for the live music.

This is a review is strictly for the beer and service since we did not eat. ABGB is a very convenient place to gather. It has ample parking for many folks and the layout lends itself to having a few friends together for beers. They have an outside patio area, impressive bike racks and an expansive inside with long communal tables. We were there in the afternoon on a Saturday, so one thing they didn't have was service outside. We kicked back outside by the train tracks and enjoyed a mild winter day. I ended up having three pints, their industry, hell yes and IPA. I actually didn't even finish the IPA. And this is where I have a small disappointment. I believe they use the same yeast perhaps or hops is it? in all their beers. Definitely could tell that the beers were all made here. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn't a good thing for me. I had the same taste in the back of my mouth and eventually I couldn't drink anymore. I wanted something more crisp and continue to enjoy our day at ABGB. The second item, there wasn't any service outside. We were clearing our own tables and making the hike back up to the bar to order more bevvies. Which is fine, however it put me in a position of not knowing how to value a tip. When we were leaving to head over to Blacksheep Lodge, there was a young man who came out with a bus tub to clear off the tables. We had been there a couple of hours and it was the first time we saw someone outside. It may not be possible since it's a brewery, but it would be great if they served other beer selections. I know,... sacrilegious to even make that statement and may not even be an option. I could see myself back for a pizza and a pint sometime in the future

Wow. I arrived early (like 11:20 am early) as I've been actually wanting to swing by for bands in the evening, but was in the area so, oh well. Beer on tap is largely IPA, PA, or German types (I like it all, but a good Stout, Porter, English bitter, or even a Sour or funky choice would be appreciated--so often breweries market the same old stuff. That being said, I enjoyed my flight of 5 and a full IPA. Big Oaks out front shading a parking lot converted to a beer garden with nice tables completes a bigger picture if what's inside--Vats, a warmer side if Industrial and a full stage w monitors, house drum kit, and a mixer stand probably run by the house...make no doubt--W/F/Sa/Su, bands are on!The menu is upscale--goose pate, Waygu burgers, pizza, devilled eggs...the list is quite large. My burger was good, though not for anyone unwilling to make a mess. I'll be back w my wife (Sommelier --wine is here too) for music, but lunch on a Thursday here--it was packed at 1pm. I love it. I'd knock to 4 stars for beer selection, but barkeep was great, food great, and stage inside w beer garden outside under Oaks...I just can't do it. 5 stars.

ABGB has some of the best craft beer you will find anywhere in the country. Couple the beer with a great location and a great atmosphere to relax and hang out makes this a favorite stop. But it even get's better - the food is very good and is paired to go with the beer. The pizza, sandwiches and salads are all worth the trip. Don't miss out on what will quickly become your favorite tap room!

We had dinner at the ABGB for the first time the other night. We were there on a Sunday night about 6pm. There was no parking in their lot, so we had to park across the street. No problem... but just to warn you.. it was crowded. The beers were reasonably priced, and pretty good, although they all tasted pretty much the same. However, the bar tender woman was terrible... she was quite unfriendly. Plus, we had a pizza that cost $22. It would have been good (although not worth $22) had it not been overcooked. My 8-year-old child had a slice of cheese pizza which she loved (and it wasn't overcooked). It would be nice if they had a beer-only line. People ordered beer and food at the same time, and it took a long time to get through the line if you just wanted another beer. I recommend they add a beer-only line to solve this problem.

I got a delicious fresh salad here along with my yummy beer, and the live music was a cool surprise. A great spot to start your night.

This is a good place for beer drinkers, but nothing special for those who don't care about beer. You can sit inside or outside, I think the place is dog friendly. There is no service outside, you have to go in to place order and they will bring it out. You can order some of their pizzas by slice, which is what I did. Pizza was OK, but nothing spectacular. I noticed that it was very difficult to turn let on Oltorf, when I was leaving, due to a lot of traffic on Oltorf.

They have a good amount of seating inside and outside. They have live band on weekends. They offered flights of beer with 7 different beers to try.

Although I haven't tried the food here, I have to say I really enjoyed this place to relax and drink a couple of their beers. The outdoor area is nice and shady with a cool atmosphere to have a beer and spend time with your favorite people. I personally love their Big Mama Red beer...if you like that type of beer you can't go wrong with that one. Next time we will try one of their pizzas. They smell really good. We were sad that we had ate before we came here!

Big beer garden, freshly brewed beer, live music, mediocre food. Caesar salad was brown and wilted. "Homemade" sausage pizza did not have enough sausage to warrant the name.

It's large (warehouse) and lively (loud) with craft beer ($$$$$) and normal bar food (cardboard pizza) though the ample outdoor seating is looks pleasant. Not my thing. There are far better brew pubs in Austin.

Spent a couple of hours here, listening to some local musicians. Great way to spend some time for a mixed age family. All ages are welcome so we ordered some pizza, cheesy pesto bread and some local brews. Staff was very efficient and food was ready (and delicious) in quick time. Lots of fun for all!

I love this place. It has a great selection of beer which is brewed on site. It is family friendly, businessmen and women friendly and great for couples as well. I was lucky enough to taste the special of the day...Brat and Beer for seven dollars. The Bratwurst was cooked to perfection..wonderful taste and just the right amount to curb my appetite. Other selections on the menu include a wide variety of pizzas with wonderful toppings and variations. There is a special as well of a slice of pizza and beer for six dollars. There is live entertainment offered almost every night of the week. Service was prompt and the waitress was friendly , attentive and professional. For Vegans..there is a wide variety of vegetarian and gluten free pizzas and salads. A must when one is travelling in Austin.

What more could you want? This place was awesome!! I can't remember the name of the band that was playing, but they were wonderful. Lots of pizza options and they do have gluten free crust as well. They also serve sandwiches, salads and appetizers, but we did not try any of those. They have long tables for seating which is kind of neat since you are typically sitting near people you didn't previously know, and can meet new friends. Lots of beer and they do offer happy hour although I would suggest checking on their website for the specifics. If you are not into beer they did have wine as well and I think the had some ciders. Also, I never got to do it, but they have brewery tours as well at specified scheduled times.

Great menu with a fabulous variety of food. Beer was awesome. Met the brewmeister. Great service! Will come back!

Average pizza and average caesar salad. Fun location, outside under the live oaks. Live music sounded fun but just not to our taste.

My neighbor and I went for lunch and had pizza slices, salad and tea. Delicious pizza (margarita, and home-made sausage for me) and good caesar salad (especially if you like lots of garlic). Big plank tables and lots of windows. Some night we will go there for drinks, but for lunch it was a good price and just the right amount of food. Nice waitstaff and pretty quick service.

I went to this place because of the beer. I heard the selection was good, different, and they brewed their own. That is true. Very good beer, and having the brewing process occur beside you is a great touch. I ordered the BLT and it was seriously one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. They same kind of pesto mayo on the sandwich, and it had me licking my fingers! Even the potato salad was awesome. I can't wait to go back and the outdoor seating has grown!

We celebrated a birthday there with friends on a Wednesday evening. We enjoyed beer, wine and a cheese olive appetizer tray. Tasty and fun environment but pretty noisy for conversation until we moved away from the band to the opposite side. Outside looked fun, too!

We are traveling from Maine. Love going to breweries and brewpubs. Was surprised how great the menu is and what we’ve had was excellent! Had to return within days! Not the average pub fare!

At 6:30 on a Wednesday, the parking area was full. We were lucky to snag a spot on the grass, up over the front curb. (We worried about it but none of the cars on the grass were towed or ticketed.) You stand in a fast-moving central line to order both beers and food. You get a sign on a talk stand, and they deliver the food to your seat. Seats are long picnic tables with benches, common shared tables, and tall stools along the walls and bar. They have pizzas, calzones, and sandwiches. Pizza crust was nicely thin and chewy, not soggy. The specialty pizza varieties are unique -- we had one with quail and soft cow cheese. It was excellent. We sat up near the stage, and really enjoyed the talented Warren Hood band and some amazing swing dancing.

Superb beers and great pizzas! The setup is great, both inside and outside. If it is a nice sunny day, sitting outside is the go. It is pet friendly too so you can bring your dog for a walk.

came here obviously for the beer and it was delicious! Happy hour from 3-7 and then live music at 6. Staff friendly and funny, and will take you on a tour if available. They have some beers that stay the same and then 4 or more rotating taps that change weekly! Awesome beer garden you can hang out at order a pitcher from inside the brewery then bring it out. I recommend this if you are into craft beer good bar food and live country music.

We stopped in for beers on a warm summer evening and enjoyed the ambiance of the outdoor area under the trees as the sun set. The atmosphere is relaxed, with kids and dogs about. They had a good selection of craft brews served in hearty, glass mugs.

It's a bit of a challenge to find a brewery open late during the week, I think we came on a Wednesday. 11PM is about the latest you'll find. Good beers and a really large outdoor seating area. Pretty laid back vibe to the place. Service was good, people were friendly. I wish we had more time to spend here. If we find ourselves back in Austin, this will be a good place to stop. A unique location, with a somewhat secluded feeling. We were too late for food, but the menu looked like it had many great items to choose from.

Great atmosphere; outdoor and indoor dining available. VERY dog friendly. A number of couples were eating there with their large dogs. Lots of beer choices. My food was really disappointing. The BBQ sliders were dry, tasteless and unappetizing.

it is really hard to get past the absolutely horrible and unaccommodating staff. We're required to go here for a event that happens once a quarter and it is the same story every time: nasty staff. While unusual in our experience, this place just doesn't get serving customers. We've crossed them off out list. Food wise, the Pizza is okay but the menu is limited (and again they are unaccommodating in any changes you want to make to your pizza). Apparently this is the only pizza restaurant in the US that finds the concept of custom pizza too difficult to implement.

Beer was so good, I was excited I had a designated driver. Great music and friendly staff and patrons. Worth a visit. Apps were amazing.

We love loved the flea market from the massage beds to handmade soaps. Mostly it's the vibe in this place.... lol my tables to gather with lots of friends great craft brews in great sized glass. Did a simple sausage pizza and it great with the IPA and Pils But now don't worry plenty of complicated though nuanced elaborate pizza offerings also.

I don't even normally drink beer, but I tried some here and they were good. Pizza is fantastic. Can hardly beat this place's value. Rock on ABGB!

I always look for breweries when I'm traveling. This one was great! The pizza I ordered was top notch and the beers were even better. I sampled all 9 that they had on tap. Some were better then others but then again I am not a fan of sours. This place had families with the two and four legged kind of children. Very relaxing atmosphere, I can't wait to go back during live music nights.

Large array of beers to choose from, small appetizers but great tasting. Don't plan on sharing the apps. The meals look pretty large, but the beer can be pricey. Go for pitchers & save some $. Seating is smoothed picnic tables/family style, plus comfy bar seating all around. A place to dance in front of the band, & a chill patio out front. Pretty impressive, old country joint.

live music on a stage, picnic table seating indoor & out, beer, beer, beer, friendly servers, lots of parking (but if crowded may be hard to find a place), good food with fresh ingredients, and pizza. what more do you need? if you are looking for a good representative of the austin ethos, this is the place. the name says it all.

I met a group of family and friends here on a perfect Spring afternoon. The parking is pretty terrible but the place is a great place to while away that kind of day. I didn't spend much time inside, but I'd describe the whole place as Munich biergarten done Austin style. There are long, weathered tables and benches everywhere. People come and go in groups, families, and with dogs. The beer was really good, and so was the pizza. The order counter is kind of a hot mess though. My cousin said it best when he declared that if he owned a bar or restaurant, he'd make it really easy for people to spend their money. First of all, you order the beer and pizza at one of two registers (the outdoor ordering location did finally open up later). So you could easily get stuck behind people sampling beer or dithering over their pizza order. And there are a lot of people. So it's a long line. It felt kind of like trying to order food at the fair. They also don't allow substitutions or extras on their pizza, unless you have an allergy and then they will. That seemed odd. So, if you want extra cheese in your pizza, maybe invent some kind of allergy to normal amounts of cheese? Give it a try. You'll like it.

They have a great selection of microbrews with an easy to understand beer menu with description. The pizza was also very good. I would get a pie with fewer ingredients as the crust get soggy with the weight of a lot of toppings.

I live in austin where there is a lot of good pizza and beer. The pizza here is a amazing. Always made from scratch and super delicious. Whatever you do, do NOT get the big momma red IPA... It is my favorite beer in Austin and possibly ever and they run out of it like half the time I go... stop drinking all my big momma red IPA everybody lol!! The only downside to this place is that its no longer a "hidden gem" its ALWAYS crowded. I would highly recommend going at a down time or off night but even those are rare. Enjoy! this is a really wonderful spot when its not crowded (which is rare!)

Gluten free friendly and unique pizza creations made with local and fresh ingredients in a family friendly community oriented warehouse. Live music and great cider options as well. Loved it!

Stopped in for a great lunch. I had a couple of appetizers, Brussels sprouts and deviled eggs. Yummy! Beer selection was basic but good. Nice take home selection. Reasonably priced. Coming back when they have live music

Great atmosphere, many beer choices and quality appetizers! Love the simple relaxed atmosphere and the delicious cuisine, great place to come to chill out and enjoy a relaxing Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

We went for a day trip with our pups, so a dog friendly establishment was a must. This has ample shaded outdoor seating and a nice minibar outside on the patio. The food was great- pizza was delicious and their vegetarian sandwich was excellent.

The title says it all, as this is one of my favorite spots in Austin to grab some food and drink, visit with friends, and support local music acts. The food is great, and I especially like their specialty pies/slices and appetizers which highlight fresh local ingredients. The beer selection is fantastic and refreshing. From pilsners and pales to sours and bitters, you will definitely find a palate-pleasing libation! The service is exceptional, and the friendly and helpful staff will go out their ways to make your experience an enjoyable one. The atmosphere is wonderful - be sure to ask a local about taking a "lower decker" so that you can truly enjoy and appreciate a South Austin sunset. Finally, the ABGB does a lot to support live music and local nonprofit organizations which means a lot to our community.

We enjoyed the pizza we ordered here. It was surprisingly "foodie" like. Love the atmosphere and the lay-back vibe. Highly recommend it!

Went to ABGB on a Sunday afternoon/early evening, just for a couple of beers and to listen to some music. So I didn't try the pizza and therefore can't pass judgment on that, although it looked perfectly fine to me. I did think the beer was pretty good. I had the Day Trip and the Big Mama Red and enjoyed them both, slightly preferring the Day Trip. The real highlight of my trip here was the music, or more specifically the dancers. The band (Lil Mikey and the Soda Jerks) were on break when we arrived. When they started back up, people trickled to the stage from all over until it was filled with real Texas two-steppers. It was a joy to watch and the dancers rarely took a break, switching partners around after nearly every song, and occasionally pulling an interloper in for a dance. It's not a place for amateurs, though. I pictured myself accidentally whirling my partner into other dancers and continually being in someone's way, so I stayed clear of the dance floor. Still fun to watch, though.

Each time I go to ABGB, I try something new and every time it's at least good or even very good. The ingredients are clearly fresh and put together with care. The pizzas are among the better options in Austin. The indoor, family-style seating is fun and there is often great local music. the beer is good, but they also have some pretty common wines if you're not into beer. This is on the regular list. ...

Sandwhiches and pizza are very good. The beer is tasty. You wait inline to order everything. Line moves quick and orders come quick but I prefer full service. Seating is basic, long benches enough for large groups.. The outside garden is an afterthought but ok.

Came here for a night out with friends. The food, the pizza was really good. They also have Gluten-free pizzas. I like the outdoor seating as it is in wide open space. They have live music on most nights. The unsweetened ice tea is self-serve and free. The servers are great. The only downside is the noisy train that passes by from time to time. Other than that, it is a great place to relax and have a drink. I will come back here again

A cool looking place that just doesn't measure up. The many beers on offer were all very hoppy and taste similar. I've been to way better brew pub places for less $. The food was just okay and all had to be ordered at the counter. The band was good at least.

This just off a main road brewery has lots to offer. One, outstanding beer. The Big Red will pat you on your back until it knocks you on your ass. Two, high end bar food. Pizzas and sandwiches done better then most. Third, a laid back with no frills vibe. You can chill inside and here some local band kick it or you can chill outside under the oak tree shade.

Really great indoor and outdoor venue. They make their own drafts and sell it only here. Cheese board was quite pain, but pizza was very tasty, thin crust. Nice to find a place to be able to bring a baby to!

Tucked into a quiet neighborhood, this place is authentic Austin. Amazing music, unassuming atmosphere, great food and (from what I've been told) great beer. I"m not a beer drinker so I wasn't swayed by that draw but more by the large open atmosphere, the amazing bands featured and the overall good feel. Clearly the owners are engaged in the community - they have a fun wall that features local dogs that need homes. I took an Uber so I didn't have to deal with parking but it looks to be problematic if you arrive during peak hours. The wait staff was super friendly and helpful (despite the sound barrier challenge - it's loud AF in there!) I had a few light noshes & loved it. Friends have mentioned they love the pizza but I was too full to throw down on that. Overall - a great Austin spot!

I was with family and friends for a Sunday lunch. We started with a couple of pitchers of some craft beers to get some variations and had a cheese plate for appitizers. Just as we were finishing the appitizers and about 1/2 of the beer a worker who was servicing some equipment got some barbeque ashes in the air which blew our direction and gave us a light dusting. We joked with him and the next thing we knew we had two new pitchers of beer. We thought that was cool, very customer focused to react that quickly over something many others would blow off. Shortly after we went up to the counter to order and as we were ordering the same guy came over and instructed that our tab would be gratis, on him. We enjoyed some great pizza and sandwiches and at the end we were so pleased with the response we insisted that we would pay part of the tab and tipped on the whole amount. In all, the beer selection is good, the beer itself is good, the atmosphere of outdoor and indoor seating is great for getting together with friends and family, and the food is very well done. But the thing that made this place stand out was that everyone that worked here seemed to like their jobs, they seemed to like the company and they were all focused on the customer experience. If you're not in a hurry, if you want a place to sit and enjoy some good food, craft beers, and time with friends and family, this is a good place to do it.

This is my new fave spot for Friday happy hour. What better way to start the weekend than with a Hell Yes helles and 2 slices of calabrese. They have quite a few food options and a great beer selection. Plenty of seating inside and outside and the outside is dog friendly. The only down side is parking - during popular hours it can be tough to get a spot.

Had my first visit to ABGB last night for a happy hour and for sure will go back! We got there early (around 4:30) in order to get a table as we were having around 10 people meet us for happy hour. It wasn't very busy when we got there but it was pretty busy when we left around 7:30. Parking was easy at first but our friends that arrived around 6 struggled to find parking and had we not gotten there early to get a table we would have had a hard time all sitting together. But what this means is that this place has good food and good beer and pretty decent prices which is why it gets so busy! Contrary to what some folks have said about the service, we found the service to be really good including at the bar, with our food bring brought to us and with folks picking up empty glasses and plates. The staff were friendly and nice. My boyfriend got flights of five different beers and we had several food items from pizza to the cheese plate (where we got extra crackers just by asking) to the olive plate and the bacon wrapped peppers. My friends had a variety of food and drinks and everyone seemed happy. This place will be added to our happy hour list of spots to go... but we will just make sure to get there early!

Went on a Thursday night. The pizza was really, really greasy, but after getting the grease off and taking it home, it was much better cold in the morning. Beer was good, but not better than other breweries in Austin, but the atmosphere was fantastic. Great enough to make me return for both beer and pizza on a night they have some live music. Over all great night!

Finding a parking spot in any city is tough, but this is a great stop for anyone who visits the capitol of Texas. This place has a far from ordinary menu to choose from that will delight your taste buds, Small Plates, Pizza (by the slice or pie, 14" and 16") Sandwiches, Salads and Dessert - PLUS- Medal Winning American Pilsner Beers in Pitchers, Pints and Swifty's And Ciders by the Bottle or 12oz. glass. I sat outside with friends but there was tables available inside.

We stopped at The ABGB and were pleasantly surprised. The barn-type building hosts that true-to-Austin brewing company look that brewing enthusiasts expect in Austin, Texas. The employees are quite eager to help customers understand how to read the beer board. They offer nice size samples of each beer on tap so that one can choose the best of the day! After deciding on the brew, choice of foods is equally as hard. The Austin cuisine is apparent here...Gluten-free pizza, pizza topped with fresh veggies, outstanding cheeses, and....fried quail eggs?!! The food was great, the brew was greater, and the atmosphere...well, it's AUSTIN! Try it out! They also host bands...check out the website for more info: theabgb.com

On a weekend visit and our first trip to Austin, hotel Concierge at the Driskill recommended ABGB and it was fabulous! Great beer, surprising great food and fun atmosphere sitting outside. I could have spent all afternoon there!!

This is a place where Texas meet Germany on Oltorf! Nice open garden, great indoor bar with stage for live-music. Perfect for a date, a party, or just a relaxing break in central Austin. Fast service, easy line and self-service! Will be back- for sure.

This is one of my favorite spots in South Austin for drinks and pizza. We went with a group of friends for happy hour and sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. The pizzas were good, the beers were good, and the live music that started up later was good. All in all, a great place to hang out.

Popular place, lots of people. They had beer... and simple food. Sandwiches and such. If you sit outside, watch out for sitting under the trees... they drop tons of seed things into your food and drink.

Popped in for a Sunday afternoon drink and something to eat based on some local recommendation - was hoping for some live music but it did not come on until around 4 so we were early - however it had a really good atmosphere with a mix of ages and we sat down and had some starters and sampled some of their local beers while playing cards with our 12 year old - nice way to spend a couple of hours in a Sunday afternoon

Loved the happy hour band! That was unexpected and fun. Spinach salad was absolutely amazing! Sausage pizza was ok. My hub enjoyed it, but despite the menu saying they would only adjust for allergies, they refused to keep cheese off half for my lactose intolerance.

First off I realize this place is very popular and does great business and probably doesn't need me to tell them what to do. But there's some things I wish they would work on for example: where are the Hefeweizens Stouts Wheats? They make a good salad but nine dollars for a side salad size is the new normal? I wish they had a roving waiter that you could ask get additional items because the line inside is very long. The Pilsner was good but missed the Wheats Hefes and Stouts.

Went there for lunch on a cold Sunday. They brew their own beer, which is pretty good. I don't think they have any beer besides their own so be warned. I could be wrong though. I had a slice of sausage pizza and a veggie burger. The sausage pizza was good, and the veggie burger was better than I thought it was going to be. I think their menu is a bit limited because they have odd toppings that I just wouldn't have on my pizza normally. It's probably not odd for Austin hipsters, but it was for me. Just weird cheeses or sprouts or whatever. I guess I'd go back again, but with so many choices in Austin, it'd probably be a while before getting back there.

We stopped here with the fam after hiking in the Barton Springs greenbelt area. The kids devoured the pizza and homemade soup. I enjoyed my stuffed mushroom. The Helles was perfect post hike. It'd be perfect anytime really. I consider myself a German beer snob so usually end up disappointed with American tries at German styles but truly enjoyed their Helles.

We were on our way to a different restaurant, only to find it closed that evening. We ended up at ABGB due to it's location and found we had made a fantastic choice. It is definitely no frills, no televisions and no crap beer. We sampled some of their brews and settled on some we really liked. Their pizza was excellent and service was fine as well. We will definitely be back, preferably in cooler weather so we can comfortably sit outside.

First time there but was duly impressed. Only drawback was the order line upon entry. Great selection of good food and beer. Band started shortly after arrival and they were very good and not too loud. Did get a pizza and a growler to go. Well worth the trip and was pleased with their prices.

We didn't eat while here, but we did try several of their beers, and were impressed by all of them. Nice open area inside like a German Beer Hall. Big patio'd area outside for easy drinking in the sun. A fun stop for a couple of hours....if you like good beer.

(I wish it would let me give 3.5 stars.) Solid atmosphere both inside and out. And so many dogs outside, which is where I sat. I had the habanero bacon sammy. I wasn’t blown away by it but it was overall a good choice. It wasn’t very spicy though which was a little disappointing. I only tried one beer (Rocket something or another) and it was very good! Would definitely return to the patio for a few more beers sometime.

Love the layout of this place for a music venue! Warehouse type setting with good draft beer, food and eclectic music. Only thing is- no boy dances in Austin! I couldn't stand still listening to this awesome music 🎶 so I danced all by my lonesome! Nice mix of younger and older crowd. Outside seating was pleasant to enjoy as sometimes the music got loud for this old girl 😁

Stopped in for a quick drink and a bite to eat before heading back to San Antonio. I had the Stuffed Portobello with Spinach and Smoked Gouda and a Summer Melons Summer Ale and my husband had the BLT and Fried Egg paired with an Industry Pils. Our experience was pleasant, the staff was friendly the food was tasty and most important of all the beer was cold!

Had a couple of hours here on a recent Saturday afternoon. We were a group of 5 visiting from the UK and just wanted somewhere to drink and listen to some live music with food as an option and this fitted the bill perfectly. As Brits, and all proper ale drinkers, we thought the beer on sale here was really good and not bad value when bought in a pitcher (although some weird rule that there had to be 2 of you present at the counter when buying it?). There is no waiting on tables here other than to bring food out and clear glasses everything i.e. food and drink has to be ordered at the bar and that means queing. I have to say if that system was in place in a similar place in the UK there would be a riot but it seemed to work fine at the ABGB. So, in summary, good beer, great live music and we met a bunch of locals who were all really friendly and welcoming and helped us enjoy our stay in Austin even more.

One of our favorite places, but we always go during prime time- and it makes the experience and vibe a bit lacking sometimes. Hopefully they will not be a victim of their own success! The beer selection is good- all brewed by them. They have a few specials here and there, but very good IPA and Pils staples. I like the pizza- a perfect accompaniment for me.

Visited with family, including a 2 yr old, and had a wonderful time. When you enter, you go up to the Counter and place your order and pay. You are given a number and they bring your order out to you when it's ready. We ordered 2 different pizzas and they were fabulous! As a New Yorker visiting TX, I wasn't sure what to expect from the pizza but it was truly amazing. Outside tables, too, which was a plus!

Hit this well-known spot for Friday lunch. We get it: beer, music, community, and food . Unfortunately, we must have been too early for this vibe .. and 90-degree heat kept activity at the outdoor tables to crickets ... will have to try back with a larger group and when bands are playing. Food: we split a Calabrese gluten free pizza and a Spinach Salad. Both were fine, but pricey for the portion size. For a quiet couples adventure in Austin, would suggest a different venue, like Pinthouse Pizza. Hook'em

Enjoyed an evening here outside on picnic table with family and friends. Ordered a variety of pizzas, which were all good, but best part are all of the great craft beers. Very relaxing and casual place. Service is average, but this is more about just hanging out and enjoying your company with some fun beers and decent pizza. Would be great if they had some bug spray available though (or come protected).

Came here to meet friends for some beer. Always enjoy checking out local brewery's. The beer is ok I like the red mamma just a bit too hoppy. A good place to meet up with friends but not my favorite brewery.

This looks to be a great party/nightlife venue, but I went there to eat lunch sans beer. Obviously, my experience could be an outlier. One typically goes to a Beer Garden to drink beer. Middle of my workday, so it didnt work out as such. Nice venue space, live band area ready to toll, outdoor tables for drinking on a nice afternoon/evening. All in all, looked to have good pizza and ingredients tended to be highly creative. I would recommend to others.

Came here after a business meeting. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Very casual, great crafted beers, long German style tables. Can also order food and snacks. Had the pizza which was surprisingly excellent for a beer garden.

Friday evening of a very wet F1 weekend in Austin, went to ABGB with wife, daughter + BF, and another couple and totally enjoyed the experience. Fro outside, besides the elevated patio seating under cover with picnic tables, it appears like a large corrugated metal warehouse or barn. But upon entry the place is alive with activity. Two lines to the main bar to order food and/or drinks, then off to find a seating for six. Live music is pretty loud so unless you want the reverberations on your chest, best to find a place to the rear or around the slight corner which we did. Several varieties of on-premises brewed beers, all robust and delicious. The food choices also very interesting and satisfying - from the cheese board, to the pork pate, and the tasty pizza we had. Sandwiches and another pizza also at our table of six. Everyone enjoyed the fare, the beer, the music and the company. What's not to like?!
A Classic Texas Road House
If you go to Austin with a hankering for experiencing a real Texas Road House, look no further than ABGB. It is a fun place for adults and families to experience traditional Texas music and food and has a great atmosphere. My wife and I met up with some good friends of ours who live in Austin and they recommended this place for a night out on the town. What a great recommendation that turned out to be. The ABGB offers good food, which includes made to order sandwiches, burgers and pizza. We had the pastrami sandwiches and some pizza. Both were great. The ABGB also brews a variety of their own award winning beers, some of which have won gold medals at beer tastings and are renowned around the world. I found the red ale to be particularly tasty. We were also treated to some live music in the traditional Texas style. This is more or less a daily event at ABGB. You can sit inside at the long bench tables while you dine or drink beer and watch the live music. You can also get up and dance, it you are inclined to country swing style of dancing. It was fun to watch the locals get out on the dance floor and with the kids as well. You can also sit outside in the huge outside yard which is filled with trees and gives the sense of being out in the country while still being in the heart of Austin. This is a very family friendly place where you can bring the kids and have a great night out. If you are looking for a real authentic Texas Road House type of experience this is the place to go. There are always top notch musicians performing and the food is great. If you bring the kids you'll have no problem finding food options that will please both them and the adults. I give a big thumbs up for the ABGB.
