Stunning art decor designed family owned resturant with a huge wow factor in both the bar and resturant areas....loved the private members area too. The food matched the stunning decor ..each dish prepared by using the highest quality ingredients sourced from as far as Norway (fish platter ) by this Michelin star chef whose passion shines through in his food . My group tried the restaurants signature duck dish which was a show in itself and prepared in front of our table ..a great show and even better taste with a fine selection of an assortment of meats and vegetables. This was simply the best food experience I've had in the USA and one of the best restaurants ive ever ate in. You will love this culinary experience and the classy ambience ...a true must visit resturant.

Amazing space, both the restaurant and members club and awesome experience and hospitality (special thanks to Tatiana and Mitch). Really enjoyed the bread presentation (very cool), welcome cocktail and our pastas and the Dover sole (best I have had). Great cocktails and wine too. Excited to go back soon and highly recommend!

The Alston enters Chicago's crowded but distinguished steakhouse field with flair. Described as one of the "hottest new restaurants" and "one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2025," this glitzy, new, upscale fine dining restaurant with a terrace patio, brought to us by Michelin-starred chef Jenner Tomaska and the Fifty/50 Restaurant Group, blends the familiar comforts of Midwestern steakhouses with refined, artful techniques of 1920s French Nouvelle cuisine. Located at 750 North State Street, on the third floor, between Chicago and Superior Streets, across the street from Holy Name Cathedral, in the city's Gold Coast and River North neighborhoods, it is open from 4 to 10:30 Sunday through Thursday and 4 to 11 on Friday and Saturday, you know you're in a special place from the minute the waiter begins to slice your complimentary bread at your table. The menu features caviar, Dover Sole, bone-in Wagyu ribeye, seafood towers with chilled shellfish, escargot and filet tournados Rossini. I started with dressed eggs with truffle, iberico, potato, saffron and fine herbs, a five-prawn cocktail, a bowl of lobster bisque and Caesar salad with heirloom Romaine lettuce, sherry, parmesan and lemon. For my entree, I chose a 10-ounce center cut filet mignon with bordelaise sauce, mushrooms and potato au gratin with parmesan, garlic and gruyere. For dessert, one-of-a-kind bitter chocolate lava cakes with creme Fraiche ice cream, chartreuse and citrus. Alston, welcome to Chicago. You've already found your niche.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Alston Chicago with a group of friends. We were seated in the beautiful main dining room. The staff was incredibly attentive, and the food was a delight. I particularly enjoyed the scallop appetizer which was beautifully presented in a shell. For entrees, we sampled the filet mignon, bone-in ribeye, and rack of Dover sole. While the steaks were delicious and prepared over a wood fire, the presentation of the sole was impressive and scrumptious. Sides of pommes au gratin and macaroni and cheese were standouts. For dessert, we tasted each of the four desserts. All were amazing. A memorable dining experience!

Food, atmosphere, decor are all simply unbelievable. The steak melts in your mouth and the duck was just as amazing - with a show to go along with it! My favourite meal I had in Chicago by far and I will absolutely make my way back here.

My colleague and I met for business. The dining room is pleasant and airy with good decor. Impeccable attentive service from Christian - thanks! The strawberry basque cheesecake could well be the best dessert I’ve Bennetts fortunate to eat in all my years. Amazing 🍓
Exceptional Service, Not-So-Good Steak
The standout of the experience was definitely the service. From check-in to the table, the staff was attentive, polished, and handled every request effortlessly. The food, however, was a bit underwhelming. I ordered the steak — the most expensive cut on the menu — and while I usually appreciate a simple, French-style presentation with no heavy garnishes, this one fell flat. It lacked juiciness and the natural flavors didn’t really come through, which was disappointing given the price point. That said, their house-made ice cream is phenomenal. Honestly, I’d return just for that alone. Overall, while the meal didn’t fully deliver, the exceptional service and standout dessert made the experience memorable.
