Great food and drinks!

By 647marilynk |

You know the Amigo Spot has a good following if locals like to visit! My friends brought me here for dinner one night when I was in San Diego for a visit. Huge portions, good food, and great margaritas.

Great food made authentic Mexican style

By warrenm0nty71 |

I had the chicken chimichanga and it was great. It was definitely different from the way they are made in the Midwest and the service was excellent.

A nice find!

By Peggy D |

While staying in San Diego for a conference, we were dying to get out of the conference hotel and have a decent meal. I found Amigo Spot on Yelp. It was very close to the hotel. What a pleasant surprise. The staff is so nice. The food is very tasty and authentic. They have giant margaritas at Happy Hour prices.

" Still A Nice Place to Enjoy Mexican Food "

By David Miller |

We met our friends at the Padres game yesterday and after the game drove over to the Amigo Spot to enjoy a some good Mexican food. We ordered 2 Mole Enchiladas, one with rice and one with beans filled with shredded chicken, topped with Mole Sauce. Also a Bean & Cheese Burrito served with guacamole & pico de gallo on the side. And a Beef Taco Salad with tomato, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, beans & cheese in a crisp flour tortilla shell. All of the food was very good and tasty. For dessert we had the Mexican Flan topped with whipped cream, chocolate & caramel sauce. The Amigo Spot Flan is homemade on site. Ervin or server did a great job taking care of our every need. And Adriana Ramos the Restaurant Manager came by several times to make sure we were happy.

Family trip

By Patricia B |

The minute you walk in their doors they greet you with a friendly smile. We were seated right away and within seconds someone came to get our drink order. The kids loved their food choices and the prices and portions were good. I recommend them if you like Mexican food. The location is off the interstate so that is good too.

Great Happy Hour

By Elisa S |

Happy hour prices were very good and the drinks came with free chips and salsa which made for a perfect happy hour experience.

Last Minute Choice

By Don P |

On a Friday night was looking for a quick dinner restaurant option and happened into the Amigo Spot, located in the Kings Inn motel. Excellent customer service and lively atmosphere. Authentic Mexican cuisine, the burritos were great! The margaritas were also worth the trip.

Good food

By Amanda W |

We stayed at Knights Inn and went here to eat. (Also had a groupon for this restaurant.) It was pretty average but didn't feel authentic. Margaritas were filling. Pretty good, can't complain.

Excellent service

By Hendrik Matthys V |

Nice to have restaurant on premises. I am not a Mexican food lover , but their food was decent. Nice bar.

Great food, service, and Margaritas!

By John F |

“Sabroso!” Spanish for delicious! During our stay at The King’s Inn (see my review there), my family dined here TWICE! It was that good! Shall I start with the Mango Margarita? Yes! I did! So tasty and refreshing! All the food was hot off the stove and authentic! Trust me, I know my Mexican food! I have to admit I took a beating from the Macho Burrito! I couldn’t finish it! *sad face* The house special on our second visit was the Carne Asada Plate with home made flour tortillas! DELICIOUS! The chef came out and greeted all the diners and what a golden personality she had! She comped us some grilled chile peppers which were hot…and delicious! The kind of spicy you can’t stop eating. The wait staff is professional and at the top of their game, especially ROSA who was a delight. Taco Spot is the place to go for excellent Mexican cuisine and top notch service!

Holy mole!

By Kzaritski |

Had the chicken with mole. Soooo good. Also had the combination chicken and steak fajitas. All was very good. Clean and friendly staff. Came back later for a waffle dessert with ice cream and caramel and fudge. Save room for that! Don’t miss out. It was amazing!

No bueno!

By Lulubee66 |

This was some of the worst food we have ever had! I'm not sure how a Mexican restaurant can screw up a cheese quesadilla, but they did. The cheese was congealed and quite unappealingly. My husband had the cheese burger and it was cooked within an inch of it's life...he could not eat it. He also an $18 margarita that bad. We were only comped for the quesadilla...not good business practice. Our server however, was fantastic! We won't eat here again.

Great food and drinks!

By Txyogi43 |

Fantastic fajitas!! Huge portions, great flavor! Ordered margarita which came in 3 sizes....small, med, large. Got a medium and it it made me afraid for anyone who ordered a large....it was big! Even the small was big! But they were good...oh so good!!! I highly recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed!

Nobody waited on us.

By David P |

We went to dinner Wednesday night. we got seated and asked if we wanted chips and salsa. We said yes and waited 15 minutes before we left. No waitress came to our table and the person who seated us. Never brought us chips. We have been going to this place for 15 years and this was the worst service ever. We left and went to Cafe Coyote. I called the manager and he said next time to ask for him. We will see what they will do.

Delicious San Diego mexican food

By Lisa Marie Romo |

Great atmosphere, great service. Food came out quickly and you get a lot for your money's worth. I had the chicken and bean burrito and the chicken taquitos plate, both excellent meals. The waitstaff was great as well; great service. Would highly recommend this to anyone staying at the Kings Inn.

Good if last resource

By SaberBer |

Good service. Food was decadent, not in a good way. Aftertaste lingered for a while. Decor was well intentioned but a little like a reclusive grandmother’s living room.

Traditional Mexican fare

By Barbara N |

A huge menu offers traditional Mexican fare without any trendy twists. Salsa was just right heat level and "small" margaritas were 16 ounces for a great price. We enjoyed our meal at a good price, too.

Margaritas galore

By NeonVenables |

The drinks menu was huge! We were staying at the Kings Inn (on site), so had dinner here one night. Food was solid, but the drinks were the highlight. Margaritas were huge and super tasty!

Excellent Service

By ldensven |

We are staying at the hotel (King’s Inn) and went for dinner last night. Our server and the bar tender were both attentive, polite and welcoming! Two shredded beef tacos for $7 were plentiful and tasty my daughter said. My husband enjoyed the taco salad and I had the shredded beef burrito. Neither of us could finish our meals but we still shared the Mexican fried ice cream. The servings are big! It was also happy hour at the time. I had a small Lime margarita but again, nothing small about it. As guests of the hotel we received a discount on our food items which was a nice perk! I got a “to go” margarita to sip by the pool. Somehow it was ordered as a large....I think it was a liter! Sipped on that for two hours!! We will be eating here a few more evenings during our stay and plan on trying the waffle spot for breakfast as well. Nice hotel would stay again too!

It was OK!

By Denise M |

Having eaten a LOT of Mexican food on our road trip, The Amigo Spot did not stand out for us. We were tired, we needed food, so we ate it. But there are a lot of better choices close by.

Good Food and Drinks

By karenkuder |

My husband is very picky about his chili Relleno's and he said these were the best he's had in very long time. The food is fresh when it comes to your table. The tortilla's are excellent. The chips and salsa are super good too. I would recommend this place to eat dinner at. The only thing that was a negative was our last night at the hotel, we went into have a drink after the movies and there was still 20 mins still left that they were opened and our waitress really showed her annoyed side when we walked in, gave an order for two drinks and my husbands food order.

Authentic and delicious

By Anne T |

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The refried beans were smoky and delicious. I had a cheese enchilada and shredded beef taco a la carte, both were very tasty. The prices were reasonable and my husband's chicken burrito was very good. The decor is fun and the mariachi band was fun. I would visit this restaurant for dinner with friends.

Entertaining

By weluvtrvln |

When I walked into this place, it reminded me of a place that Chevy would find in National Lampoons Vacation! Decor is eclectic and had a 70's feel to it. A band was playing jazz and there were older adults with their tropical themed shirts on at the bar. I loved it!! I felt safe being around the older adults. The food was better than I expected but don't expect four star cuisine. It did the job though. My two year old was welcomed by others and this is a plus. If you're looking for a college party atmosphere then this is probably not for you. Family friendly and a good feeling atmosphere is what you'll find.

Filling but lacking

By OakvilleGal |

Being in the Mission Valley area, googled up nearby restaurants and this one popped up with good reviews along with one other. Decided to give this a try. The restaurant is attached to a small hotel. First impression was not good - some odor at the entrance near the bar. Seated in a booth. For 5 pm, the place was 60% full on a Saturday. Enjoyed the salsa and chips they brought at the outset. Asked server for recommendations. Ordered one fish taco grilled to try and a grand fajitas for two. The fish taco was tasty - the fish was hot and fresh, the coleslaw and sauce were a nice complement. Wish I had ordered this as my main. The fajitas were 3.5 star on my scale. The grand fajitas comprised shrimp, steak and chicken. There was enough on that platter for 4 and we took home half of it. It was $32 for 2. I would have preferred to order for one and forego the leftovers, had it not been advertised as such for 1 or for 2. The proteins were giant. The big shrimp were meaty but flavourless. The steak was soft and a little fatty but the best of the three - still, lacking flavour. The chicken was soft but bland. As for the trimmings, refried beans was half the plate, with some guacamole and pico/salad and mainly rice on the other half. No hot sauce offered. Sour cream was extra. The guac was fresh and tasty - could have been more generous with that and the pico. Service was good, ambiance was fine - though I didn't enjoy watching the carpet being swept/vacuumed at one point while I ate. All in, $40 + tip for our meal. Filling but lacking. Would not return due to multitude of other options to try.

Mediocre Mexican food

By David D |

This is admittedly a limited review. I only dined here once while staying at the Kings Inn. I had tacos which were only OK, but the location was convenient from my room. The atmosphere was family style with several very jolly men expounding upon sports at the bar. Midwesterners won't have any problem with this. The shortcoming is that "OK" Mexican food is not good enough in a place like San Diego. For the same price you can easily find terrific Mexican food on India Street (between Chalmers and W Washington Street across I-5 northeast from the airport) or around Mission Hills, or many other places. One should not have to settle for average Mexican food in San Diego. I did not try the Margaritas. Perhaps if I had a couple drinks in my belly my rating might have been higher... but that would not have been a fair review of the food. The other two Mexican restaurants I dined at in S.D. had much better food - also with no alcohol induced bias. Please consider this limited review as one person's opinion.... Unless you lack transportation or are planning on drinking yourself to oblivion, go for great Mexican food a mile away on India Street or in Mission Hills.

Live Jazz

By Richard T |

Great happy hour and live jazz on Sat. nights from 7pm to 10pm. The house made guacamole is excellent and they have a nice selection of beers on tap.

great service and really good cheap mexican fair

By Brett T |

Great little place for happy hour 4-6pm daily , staff really nice, margaritas awesome and food tatsy

Solid Mexican option

By multiplenerdgasms |

Amigo Spot is Kings Inn's on-site dinner spot, and it's got a really fun, kitschy vibe to it that I really liked. The food was tasty and served in generous portions, although nothing that you'd write home about. Beers were a tad expensive for my liking.

Impressive Margarita!

By Tonya C |

While I was in San Diego, I stayed at the Kings Inn which houses the Amigo Spot so that was convenient for me. I arrived to the hotel late on Friday night so I didn’t end up going to the Amigo Spot until Saturday night. Thursday-Saturday they have a piano bar which was a really nice treat. I had a beef fajita which was good and also the complimentary chips and salsa. My favorite was the margarita which came in different sizes: small, medium, or large. I had never seen that on a menu before! I figured a medium would be sufficient. It was quite large…and amazing! I can’t look at margaritas anywhere else because they all seem so inadequate. A bonus was that I got a discount for being a guest at the hotel (make sure you show your waiter your keycard).

this is the place to be

By mynahbird1 |

I love this place. It's kinda "coffee shopish" but give it a chance. Authentic Mexican flare but you can get a burger if you like. Portions are good size, friendly, fast service. Prices are competitive. Happy hour has a nice little spread, and popcorn at the bar. We got a nice size quesadilla for $4 at happy hour which ends at 6pm. Their fish is pretty good too. Margs are good. Live music some nights too.

Stayed at the hotel so decided to try the restaurant there

By SharonLDRN |

Living in Tucson AZ I have eaten at many Mexican restaurants but thought I might as The well try one more instead of driving somewhere. The menu was not as varied as I hoped or but did order the shrimp fajitas. Everything was delicious and plenty of food. What I did not care for was the shrimp still having the tail shells on them. Difficult to remove when sizzling hot. With the hotel 15% discount, the price was not too bad. Also special price on the glass of wine. The atmosphere was a bit tired and the non busy wait people seemed to be enjoying a lot of loud laughs at the bar area when not waiting on customers.

Authentic Mexican food

By Julie F |

The food was delicious and felt homemade. Better than some meals I've had in Old Town down the street.

Great Food!

By PilarebPonce |

Unfortunately, my husband and I had eaten already and only had dessert at Amigo Spot :( The dessert was delicious! Chocolate brownie thing with whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce...great for the waistline...but forget that for the flavor!! While we were enjoying our after dinner dessert and coffee the smells around us of whatever it was people were ordering was just tantalizing. We unfortunately didn't have enough time at Kings Inn to go back an get some of that delicious smelling food...but if we are ever in San Diego again...we will stay at Kings Inn again and delve into a nice plate of something very Mexican...it smelled delicious. Sorry we missed the big meal...but no regrets on the dessert! Definitely a place to check out!!

Good Mexican Food

By tkscpa |

Went in in about 8:30 for a quick eat. Had Nachos, very good. Ate at bar as I was alone and not eating a full meal.

dinner

By Nicholas M |

we stopped here for dinner 1 night while we were staying at the hotel the food was excellent would certainly visit again

Next to the hotel I stayed at

By Nurse S |

The margarita was exceptional and quite strong. The food was excellent. I had skirt steak and it was flavorful and plentiful. The service was also very good. I hated the hotel that is here, but this restaurant was good - I’m sorry they are connected to such a dump of a hotel.

Something funny going on

By michele4063 |

I know most people probably dont really look at their bill, but you have to at this place. Waitress had to come back three times and each time my bill is a different amount. This discount is not added correctly prices kept changing. I wont be back again. Food was ok at best and service was poor.

Reasonably priced Mexican

By cmdevlin64 |

We stopped in for dinner after a long day and got fresh chips, spicy salsa and friendly service. The server proactively suggested black beans for a vegetarian option in the taco salad.

Great value Mexican food

By The_Bear_Brigade |

The food is simple straightforward Mexican fare at a very reasonable price. The service is friendly and efficient. We visited twice for dinner during our 4 night stay at the Kings Inn Hotel - we had no reason to want to go elsewhere. Loved the dessert chimichanga - delicious.

First Visit. Adequate food

By Ernie P |

We walked from our hotel to this restaurant. Good service. the food was adequate. Service was a bit small for the price.

Great staff and fun entertainment.

By Stephanie L |

Food was good (not great). However, great atmosphere and reasonable priced. Awesome staff!! The Happy Hour specials made eating/drinking affordable

Evening Meal

By 36Debbie |

This restaurant was also adjoined to our hotel and we ate there the first night, the meal was great and the staff were friendly and helpful although closing time is early and definitely closing time!!

Not my favourite

By Jacqui M |

We were staying at the Kings Inn and received a voucher for 15% off food at Amigo Spot. The aroma was lovely as we entered, staff were welcoming and there was live music with singing. Free nachos was a nice touch. Unfortunately their wine list was limited and primitive. The food was unimaginative - whatever you ordered came with some form of wrap, guacamole, chopped lettuce, salsa and beans or sour cream!

Good Mexican food, friendly stuff

By unichiduci |

Went there to have dinner. The place is quite big and calm. The waiters were very responsive and helpful. The food was tasty, they said that everything is home made.

Very Nice Place - Food was absolutely delicious

By Greg |

Had a couple different meals over two nights . All were absolutely delicious . Good size portions and the biggest onion rings I've ever seen. Would definitely go back if we get to the area again . Thank You

Surprisingly good

By 78jennifere |

Didn't have high expectations when we ate here. It was connected to our hotel and we didn't feel like searching out another place to eat. I am so glad we decided to eat here, because it was good. The service was excellent and food tastes good. Their chips and salsa and guacamole was good as well. The prices were very reasonable for the area. I am very glad we decided to check it out.

Convenient for happy hour and dinner

By Jon / Judi S |

We did "happy hour" here. The food was good and the prices for happy hour were good. The service was adequate.

Tasty dinner, great service.

By Fussytraveler_12 |

On premises very convenient since I did not have car. Enjoyed soothing live jazz at 7pm. It looked like a couple of family gatherings were happening, so it shows it is a local favorite.

Good food

By Sherry P |

Food was good and they were very accommodating for diet/allergy restrictions. Would recommend going.

Excellent food

By MrDigzz62 |

Just arrived in San Diego last night and needed somewhere close to where we were staying so opted for this place. We were shown to a nice table immediately and were given cups and salsa while we perused the menu. Choice was very good I went for a chili Verde and my wife went for a chicken burrito. Good value and really authentic tasting Mexican food. Service was fast and with a smile. Would definitely recommend it.

Authentic Mexican Food

By loisataylor |

While staying at The Kings Inn Hotel from 04.08.2016 thru 04.11.2016 I had the honor to eat at The Amigo Spot twice. The first night we ordered the Fajitas Supreme (Shrimp, Beef & Chicken) for two with a side shot of Tequila poured over the food at the table while sizzling on the cast iron flat skillet. Night two I ordered two Shredded Chicken Tacos as my partner ordered two shredded Beef Tacos. The food was unbelievably awesome. And the Margarita's come in three different sizes. When my partner ordered the medium Cadillac Margarita she had no idea a 22oz drink was arriving at the table. Funny thing is she could not finish the drink and I don't drink so about 6oz was left behind. Night two she ordered that drink again but this time 4oz was left behind. I just shook my head. Great food! Great prices! The staff was professional.

Friendly Staff

By AZdryheat |

A Mexican restaurant located at Kings Inn. The staff was outstanding. Standard Mexican menu. The food was good but not particularly noteworthy.

Night and day

By Thomas C |

How can one place go from great food and service and the very next day go from cold food and very very bad service. The food took 30 minutes and was very cold and fish taco thrown on plate. The manager came over and made it right but who in their right mind would endure 30 minutes of pain again. Sorry Amigo Spot you became a blind spot on our rear view mirror.

Margaritas

By Camille C |

Didn't know margaritas could come in small, medium & large! Not sure what the later two were sized at but the small was, to me, huge and perfect:) The food was great as well, my daughter loved the California burrito.

California Burrito

By RxDive |

Surprisingly very good California burritos! Large bar with sports TV's. Food to go as well. A bit overdone with the Mexican theme decor for my taste.

Relaxed mexican fair with strong drinks

By Spike D |

My wife and I ended up at this restaurant by chance for lunch. Martin the bar tender is a very nice man. His service made the visit worth it. The food was yummy. We were so impressed with this place we invited friends back for dinner there. Live music, great drinks, and more good authentic mexican food. We will go back if we are ever near hotel circle in San Diego again.

Tasty mexican at a good price

By steve16051955 |

There is not much in the way of restaurants so we decided to walk a few blocks to this one. The hostess led us to a seat the moment we walked in and the waitress was over to our table shortly after we sat down. My wife and I had strawberry margaritas which were excellent. We both chose tortilla soup and selected the bowl thinking, due to the price, it would be small. It was gigantic and excellent. We also had enchiladas which were excellent. Our grandson had the grilled cheese which he enjoyed. The whole bill was only $54. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the service overall was outstanding.

Only ordered take-out, but it was delicious!

By PhilOnTheRoadAgain |

While staying at the King's Inn, we had dessert in our room ordered from the Amigo Spot. Deep Fried ice cream one night and dessert chimichangas the next. Looking at the dinner menu, I was intrigued and would have eaten there if we hadn't had other plans.

Delicious!

By Heidi B |

Delicious! We stayed at the Kings Inn and the restaurant was right on site, which was convenient... Not only was the food delicious but the service was great as well. I'd highly recommend the fajitas!

Excellent service, food and drinks

By Santeebratsmom |

We were tired and did not want to drive to find somewhere to eat. We love good Mexican food and we just loved this place. The food was excellent, the service outstanding, and the margaritas were amazing.

Ok food

By María Elena T |

We were staying i the Kings Inn and were tired from the drive so decided to have dinner in this restaurant inside the hotel. The food was just ok. I am not a fan of Mexican food but my husband and daughter wanted to try it. It wasn't great. My daughter ordered a Margarita and had to returned it and order a beer. There was live music, again just ok The worst part was the next day when I identified myself as a guest at the hotel and asked for a glass of water and they refused.

Good Mexican food

By Steve M |

If you're staying in Hotel Circle - you can't go wrong here for dinner. The ambiance is very pleasant and the service is excellent. The only thing that is missing is homemade tortillas. The tortilla soup - however - is one of the best I've ever had. A nice place to eat after a busy day of sightseeing.

Delicious & Authentic Food, Slow Service

By MN_Travel_Bug_1 |

We checked into the Kings Inn for two nights and decided to eat here the first night we arrived. We were seated at a table promptly and then the bartender came over and took our drink order. My husband had a huge margarita which he said was very tasty. We were also served chips and salsa and the chips were quite fresh (maybe made on site?) and the salsa was flavorful. Then our server disappeared behind the bar (which was now busy) for quite a while. Other tables were getting served so it looked like we had been seated in a closed section. Then a server finally showed up and said he'd be taking over. I ordered the grilled red snapper with special seasonings and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed the chicken enchilada suiza. The meals took a while to come. The food was very authentic.

Cool Mexican spot!

By The Groove Traveler |

Very good mexican. We had big house margaritas and we took fajitas with corn and flour tortillas + extra guacamole. Food was delicious and service was nice and fast. We paid around 46 $ tip not included and we got free nachos+ salsa. I'd come again.

Nice Little Spot for a Quick Meal

By Andre P |

It was after work, during rush hour traffic. I just needed something to eat that was very close to the hotel. This restaurant was the closest. There was nothing fancy about this place, but the food was good and the staff was very friendly. I asked for a shrimp burrito; an item that wasn't on the menu, and they made me one. It wasn't crowded, and it was relatively quiet. And the service was quick and attentive. Give it a try.

More than Mexican!

By Susan Y |

We recently dined a number of times at the Amigo Spot while staying at the Kings Hotel. We found the entrees to be plentiful and very good. Steaks, salads, and seafood can also be found on the menu and are very tasty as well. The hostess and wait staff are very pleasant and remember your tastes if you visit more than once. Food was prepared promptly and served immediately. Beverages were refilled accordingly. A must-try kind of place!

Very good Mexican food

By Duffy M |

I have to say this is a very good Mexican restaurant. I'm usually leary of hotel restaurants because they have to cater to so many, usually the food rates canned and or frozen. This was truely authentic Mexican food. Tips, good green chili. The crispy tacos are delicious, very large, the meat had good flavor and the shell was freshly made. No box shells here. Save room for dessert, try the fruit filled chimichanga. I ordered apple, the filling, if it wasn't fresh I would be surprised, the apples were still crisp and tart. Delicious!

Perfect Place to Meet Your Amigos

By WooHooWahine |

Great Happy Hour Menu with Yumny Food, Thirst Quenching Drinks & Friendly Service. The Amigo Spot is The Perfect Place to Meet Your Amigos for Some Fun.. Woohoo!!

Sooo much food

By Kay W |

We both had fajitas, one chicken, the other veggie. They were excellent and plentiful. The servers were very pleasant and the decor bright and fun. Enjoyed it very much and would definitely return. There were American food options available also on the extensive menu.

Good happy hour and the food is as good as it gets

By bearbro |

Tried the carnitas plate first night and like the food so much that I went back and got carne asada fajitas the next << very good and reasonably priced

A Local Landmark

By 407elisem |

The Amigo Spot has been a gathering place for locals for years--it is NOT "just" a hotel restaurant. It has a full bar with happy hour, and several nights each week, there is live music. The dinner menu (it starts at 3 PM) features Mexican food, but has offerings for those who want the basic gringo menu. When I was most recently there, I ordered the chicken enchiladas Suizas, and they--accompanied by beans and rice--were tasty and filling. On other occasions, I've tried everything from tacos to shrimp in garlic and wine sauce. I've never been disappointed. The margaritas come in three sizes; be careful, "medium" is HUGE. The wait staff are friendly and helpful. The decor is basic, but jovial. Altogether, a fine place for some amigos to get together.

go for the beer

By Jonathan S |

margaritas were a pre-mix purchase from a plastic Jose Quervo and very expensive. All ice and no liquid. Yuck. at $15.50 a glass, and maybe 8 oz. of premix. At least they couldn't screw up the beer.

Muy excellente dos equis amber draft and salsa and food

By George H |

Best amber dos equis 24 oz I ever had and I am old, had 2 of them , walked back to excellent kings inn , salsa and chips were in the top 10 of any I have ever had , prices And portions great 5 star no doubt

Good Food, Great Service

By JoJoParisGirl |

We ate at Amigo Spot several times while staying at the Kings Inn recently. The food was good Mexican food, and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Yummy

By aloha65stang |

For a hotel restaurant I was pleasantly surprised. Staff fast, efficient and very nice! The food was great and plentiful. Not to badly priced.

Good Food, Service and Character

By Heather K |

This Mexican restaurant is located inside the Kings Inn which makes it really convenient for guests of the inn. It also has good food, good service, great character and live entertainment. They have American fare in addition to Mexican food, and I'm not talking just hamburgers.

Food is mediocre at best, terrible margaritas

By Sue M |

We had dinner at the Amigo Spot in July. My sister ordered a taco salad, which was to be served in a tortilla shell. She requested no shell. It came without the tortilla shell and without lettuce! I ordered a chimachanga, which was OK. We each ordered a Cadillac margarita. The margarita tasted like super sweet margarita mix with very little alcohol and was very expensive.. It looked very nice in a big fancy glass, but we couldn't even drink them. We were exhausted and didn't have the energy to complain. The waitress was less than interested but did her job. I do not recommend this place.

So-so

By celia_2 |

It was nice because it was super close to the hotel we were at. We sat outside and received really poor service so maybe stay indoors. The food was ok, but the complimentary salsa was yummy!

Less than friendly staff

By DandDChill |

The food was pretty good. The Mexican Ice cream was the best part of our meal here. Our server was less than friendly but helpful. I would not choose here again if I didn’t have to. But after a 3 hour flight and 6 hours on the road driving, this sounded like a good option that was attached to our hotel.

great spot

By sharon2600 |

Had a great time each time we went there on this trip, nice that it was right next to the hotel we were staying at.

Good Takeout

By nativecalifornian |

Good mexican food is the highlight of any trip I take. As I have pointed out in other reviews I love mexican food. Since we were staying at the adjacent motel I thought this would be perfect to get takeout. Its located on the east side of the motel. As we did not dine in we were able to observe that it looks like they have a comfortable bar with the normal t.v.'s around. People looked like they were having fun. The wait for the take out was pretty quick. I ordered the taco salad and the lettuce and fresh veggies were very good. When we stay at the motel again I'm thinking that we will probably dine in next time. Also the chips and salsa was very good. The salsa was not too hot or too mild for my taste and the chips were nice and warm.

Good deal

By Chris S |

We stayed at the Atwood Hotel Sat and Sun and walked next door and found this wonderful Mexican place. Outstanding food and drinks (full bar). We had dinner there both Sat & Sun. Must try the Combo Plate great price and plenty of food.

Simple tasty food

By I_Evers84 |

Friendly staff that can't do enough for you. Drinks refilled without asking prompt service with both drinks and food. Warm chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. Staying in the King's Inn so the restaurant is very convenient as it is attached. Simple food but very tasty.

Musty....

By warneshelley |

Hamburger over-cooked. Prime rib over-cooked. Mexican food just meh... Reminded me of being at an Elk's lodge with a full bar and jazz band...

Good Food and Drinks - Fun Live Entertainment - WOW!!!

By Matt L |

Stopped in to the Amigo Spot after out sightseeing and caught the end of happy hour. I was in the mood for a drink then wanted to get some rest for the next day - But - Then David and Kat were performing live music and singing along with some other friends - so "a drink" turned into a few drinks and so much fun. I returned the next evening for dinner and a few drinks and the entertainment kept me there until close. My last night in the hotel and i popped my head in to see if the entertainment was there - and WOW!! there were like 4 more in the band that night. I was tired from sightseeing all day but I couldn't resist the live music so another couple drinks and such a fun experience!! What a great time i just stumbled into!!! The food was really good and had great service as well. TY Amigo Spot - See you again Soon!!!

Delicious Mexican food!

Delicious Mexican food, desserts, drinks, booze is not watered down. great decor and nice friendly service!

Execellant location on Hotel Circle: easy acces to Fashion Valley mall & I-8,

By Gregory B |

Located on Hotel Circle in the Mission Valley section of San Diego. This eating establishment is close to many restaurants and motels. Typical Mexican fare, but maybe a little bit more expensive because of location. My service was fairly quick, and included very generous portions. I ordered some type of Nacho platter that was really more than I could eat. If you are staying in this area: it is worth a visit..

Friendly Service, Pretty good food

By Vacationer791049 |

This restaurant shares a space with a waffle restaurant. We went in search of waffles and got this. It wasn't busy at all. The server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered chips/salsa, shredded beef enchiladas, cheese enchilada, and a carne asada taco. We really enjoyed the shredded beef. Very delicious. I personally did not like the carne asada. The chips were a disappointment, but but the salsa was fresh. We walked here from another hotel. The neighborhood isn't very walkable and very dark after dark. We needed our flashlight. I don't recommend it.

Our food was delicious and plentiful! They have a nice happy hour daily and a children's menu. My grandkids enjoyed posing outside and wearing the sombreros.

Three times in a week!

By Lynda F |

I stayed at the Kings Inn for a week with family and friends. We ate at Amigo Spot 3 times because the food was great and reasonably priced. We heard the jazz trio one night and they were really good. I had a medium sized margarita and it was huge! Our server said the large is basically a pitcher with a straw in it! This is a great place for families, friends, groups, and date night.

Delicious and excellent value for money

By Lianne A |

This was the nicest, freshest meal I have had so far on my trip to California. Food delicious. Excellent service and has been the least expensive meal so far - highly recommend

very good

By familie_i_de_Ferie |

Motel guests from the Kings Inn get a 15% Voucher for the Amigo Spot. The staff is very friendly, quick and attentive. We had Fajitas for 2 persons - the portions are enormous - the quantity was very big. For 1 person would have been enough for two normal eaters. The enchiladas are fine. The steak and the french fries very good.

Another plus on staying here!

By Edgard G |

I ate at Amigo Spot before on another trip to San Diego even i wasn't staying at the hotel. This time i was fortunate to be staying on site and have this fantastic restaurant available to me. The food is excellent, authentic and the portions are very generous, not to mention the great service which is characteristic of all the staff at the hotel. Don't miss the chance to go try it!

Girls trip

By Connector256917 |

Ok but there are better Mexican restaurants in town. But Staff was very nice. Breakfast restaurant on site was great.

Good Food

By lttlee |

We had breakfast and the food is average. Good atmosphere and good service but it is a little bit pricey.

Great place

By TomHarald |

We stayed at the Kings Inn and decided to try this restaurant located in the hotel building. The service was excellent, friendly and fast. The food was great and the restaurant was nice and clean

Good food and service

By Jim T |

Good food and drinks. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the chicken fajita for 2 and it was way more than 2 of us could eat. The chicken was cooked well and piping hot when served. Only negative was a dime I found in the ice in my drink, they took it off the bill (and kept the dime). A nice place for authentic Mexican food.

Can't Fault It

By Ian_Wand |

We had two dinners here. Not really knowing much about Mexican food we asked the servers on both occasions for recommendations - both times we had great dinners. The staff are friendly and the entertainment a bonus.

The WORST

By escapeartist49 |

Met a group of friends here during happy hour on a weeknight...such an unpleasant evening that I will never go back! Most of the bad came from the bar manager/hostess, but it began when I ordered a soda and the bartender actually rolled his eyes. Apparently the manager's idea of " happy hour"- that space between work and home- is that patrons drink as much alcohol as possible before getting back on the freeway. Sounds a little crazy, but the woman came out to the patio THREE times to complain-" Some of your group are ordering sodas, and there's no markup on those." So, now your business problems are our fault?? I must add that most of us ordered from the menu, partly because the advertised happy hour munchies consisted of ...raw veggies. We also tipped, in spite of waiting 30 minutes or more for our (small) food items. Kings' Inn, IF you keep this rude, unprofessional woman on staff, advertise fairly: Put a sign at the entrance that says "Alcoholics Only."

Great Happy Hour

By Gypsy52 |

The friendly staff provides a relaxing Happy Hour with a good choice of foods and drinks. Plus you can order off of the regular menu.

Every nice atmosphere

By Margiefrompennsylvan |

Quite restaurant with a variety of food, not only Mexican. Our dinners there were good and served hot. We had the beef fajitas.Enjoyed every bite. Wait staff happy and smiling. Would go back again and again. Fairly priced meals you can enjoy with a family of 4.

Nephew visiting

By Burnie D |

Our nephew was in San Diego for a conference so we picked him up and went to Amigo Spot since it was near his hotel and they have vegetarian selections. It is casual and has plenty of free parking. They were not very busy so we got a table far from the bar area as it was quieter. I had a good carne asada platter that came with beans, rice, tortillas and guacamole. It was good.

Right in out hotel

By florenceharvey |

Bar and Grill open every night but Sundays. Saturday night the entertiner was a well-know SanDiego local blues piano player, a young blues singer and a great Mexican guitar player (no cover.)

I just found a new favorite Mexican restaurant!

By SNAFU23 |

While staying at a nearby hotel, my family and I had dinner at the Amigo spot, and really enjoyed our experience and the meal. The Amigo spot which is aptly named, because it seemed like all the locals eat hear and they all know each other and are friends. This restaurant is located a the Kings Inn, at Hotel Circle in Mission Valley. Soon after we got there we knew we were going to like this place. The staff were super friendly and made you feel like you are friends right away. The food was awesome. Fresh, great quality. The portions were very large, and the prices are very reasonable, especially for all the food you get. My family of 4 ate dinner and deserts and we had two delicious margaritas for less than $75, include tip and tax. What a great value. The margaritas come in small, medium and large. We ordered a medium one and could tell there was a good amount of tequila in it, and it tasted great. When we were there they had excellent live entertainment, and it looked like they have live music entertainment on a regular basis. We are looking forward to returning to the restaurant and having another delicious meal.

OK

By Devyn_11 |

The food was OK, and service was a tad slow, but staff were all nice. The night we were there, they hade live entertainment which was fun. Food just wasn't what we were expecting.

Very Average

By Shane W |

I found this place to be very average. There wasn't anything wrong, nor anything worth really writing about. The menu had your typical Mexican fare, prices were typical, and the decor was typical. Service was a tad slow. My food was good, but not anything outstanding. Were I in the area, I would be likely to stop again, but would not go out of my way to go back.

Great food and atmosphere

By Kreatine30 |

The food is awesome here and the atmosphere is great! Love the food and our waitress was amazing! Absolutely saved us on a not so awesome night!

Loved it...Great food, drinks and service

By MrsTlovinglife H |

We absolutely LOVED the Kings Inn!! Enjoyed a three night stay. My nephew graduated marine boot camp and we booked a last minute trip. Of course we wanted to save and chose Kings Inn..NOW....I am a 5 star type of girl but since it wasn't a special vacation, savings was more important...BUT....WOW is all I can say..From check in to check out...PERFECT..super clean...GREAT pool and jacuzzi!!! AMAZING food at both Amigo's and Waffle Spot!!!

Don’t go off of menu price

By outdooremt |

Me and my daughter were fools when we ordered our food. We got carne asada fries, we thought omg this is expensive for fries, I told her order something else anyway so ur full, cause I’am. Well then the plate came out 😮 it was piled up full of carne asada, fancy shredded cheese, fries, guacamole, and sour cream. We both got full off of that single plate. We had to take to go plates for our main meal. Now mind u my daughter plays Lacrosse, and just played for about 8 hrs straight and I hadn’t eaten ALL DAY. We loved their food so much the next morning my daughter said “hey dad after the tournaments today I want the carne asada fries 🤤 I said ok and we went back the next night and got full again. Like I say they under charge for the portions they serve u. They also have a little bar and have live music I believe every night. No big band but a Billy Joel piano man 😉, he’s pretty good at playing the piano as well. The staff is super kind and pretty well informed on places people not 21 can go and still have a good time. There were families as well as adults at the bar, so a good mix of a crowd. Super fun and really convenient this place is next to the Kings Inn. I even believe they own it, as long as u have a room key u get 15% off of ur bill and that goes a long way as well. When me and my family go back and stay at the Kings Inn I know right where we’ll b eating at night.

Good food

By Martin S |

The Amigo Spot is one of two restaurants connected with the Kings Inn . It appears to be open only in the evening. Good Mexican food.

VERY loud music

By Gerald T |

Hard to hear anything with loud live jazz music a few feet away. We moved and it was okay. Service was so-so.

Hidden gem

By TonyM |

If you want really good, authentic Mexican food, you'll find it here. Not only that, the prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent.

kinda quirky but fun

By ericbronco11 |

I stopped by and they had a nice happy hour and a great marg. kinda cheesy but not too bad. stop by around 5

Best salsa ever!

By Cristina H |

The salsa is super fresh! So good I could've made just the chips and salsa my meal. The handmade (not from a mix) margaritas are AMAZING!!

Good service, food okay, little overpriced

By palekh |

Located at the Kings Inn Hotel on Hotel Circle S, where my wife and were staying, this restaurant attracted us because it was close and we were tired. The food was decent enough, seemed a little overpriced for what we got, and the service was pleasant and not over-attentive. Would eat here again under the same circumstances, but would probably look farther afield for a Mexican restaurant if that was what we wanted.

Authentic fun good Mexican food

By Floridaparadise1 |

I eat here when I stay at Kings Inn, every time I come to San Diego. I like this little restaurant, the service is very friendly, the interior is fun and colorful, and the food is very good. On the weekends they even have a mariachi band. Unfortunately I was too late to listen to them. Next time!

Good food, reasonably priced

By jiminalaska2010 |

Amigo Spot (Mexican Restaurant); San Diego, CA; October 27, 2016 Good food, reasonably priced, at our hotel We ordered the daily special of BBQ ribs, which were really meaty and tender, and a burrito, which was OK.

Ok food...painfully slow service

By girlwolf68 |

Staying at a nearby hotel and it was 730 on Wednesday night and we were hungry. The restaurant was not busy, we were one of 5 tables with people. There were 3 wait staff. We had the bartender as our server. We waited nearly 20 minutes to place our order, 25 minutes to get our food. The food was relatively decent. I had the taco tamale combo, husband had flautas chilie relleno combo. There was plenty of food but nothing really made us say wow. Find somewhere else if you want Mexican food.

Dinner spot in hotel

By Hueyk9 |

Nice little restaurant inside lobby of Kings Inn hotel. We all enjoyed our dinners, typical standard Mexican type food offerings. Staff is helpful and friendly and they have live music on the weekends.

It works!

By Krista D |

An easy, decent choice if one is staying at the King's Inn. While not *the best* Mexican food, the quality is good and it tastes decent. We had the Enchilada Suiza (very good) and a Chimichanga (yum!), daughter has the cheese quesadilla with beans and rice. Warm, friendly atmosphere.

Quick bite for dinner

By sunnie m |

Staying in hotel, went down to grab quick bite. Tacos beans and rice. The tacos are good, the beans would make a second trip for.

Not a bad place for happy hour

By Raymond P |

I was staying in this hotel, so decided to roll the dice and try this place. I am glad that I did! They have happy hour Monday through Saturday from 4p-7p, which included some pretty substantial (and tasty) appetizers!

Amazing foof

By Coral M |

Stayed at the King Inn and ate at Amigo's great food very tasty and plentiful very reasonable prices had a Margarita made the mistake of getting a medium size it was HUGH but very nice.

Back to the 60's

By msr79 |

I went to this restaurant only because I was staying at the hotel, Mexican food is not my favorite. I had the steak and it was decent, nothing to call home about

Happy hour was less than happy.

By castarlet |

Just wasn't a fan. The margaritas are HUGE but alas, not very delicious, and the chips, salsa and appetizers felt a bit too greasy and without flavor. Much better Mexican food in SD!

Highly recommended Mexican restaurant!

By Gallongom |

Stayed at Kings Inn and had a wonderful dinner at Amigo Spot. They serve all kinds of authentic Mexican food. Loved Mixed Fajitas, Fish Tacos and Margaritas Live Jazz every Saturday.

Great Service, generous portions, pretty good food

By ed_in_510 |

Visiting San Diego for a number of days, and wanted some Mexican food, close to where I'm staying. Had a coupon for this that gave me a discount so thought I'd try it. Heard great things about their drinks and happy hour, but as I don't drink, that wasn't a draw for me. I started with a cup of the Chicken vegetable soup, which was very tasty. Then had the Chile Verde. The Chile Verde itself was very tasty and the pork in it was done just right. And a very generous portion. However, the rice and beans that were served on the side were quite bland, so the experience in total was less than impressive. Very good service and friendly people, though

Great happy hour and food

By Sheila G |

Friendly and fast service. Food and margaritas are yummy. Happy hour makes it affordable to eat dinner.

Best Red Snapper I've ever had!

By Aspire2017 |

Rosa was an amazing server, very sweet and helpful. The daiqiries were fabulous and the live music was fun. I had about as much fun as I could with a baby in tow. :)

Good place to grab a bite near King's Inn

By Renee F |

Decent Mexican, reasonable prices for the location. Enthusiastic service, which was great. I particularly enjoyed that I could enjoy a couple items ala carte without having to get the mountain of typical sides I didn't want. Good chile relleno, as promised.

Beef fajitas were great

By travelerfunSeattleWa |

Went here because it was next door and could walk there. Husband had the beef fajitas it came to the table sizzling hot. We shared it and it was very good. I ordered a chicken taco salad. I was very disapointed. There was not very much lettuce. The taco shell was half full of refried beans, and it was hard to find the chicken. My husband wanted to go back because he liked the Fajitas so much.

This was a let down

By funstlucia |

We were hoping for tasty, mexican treats at a good price and did not find this to be as we had hoped. The happy hour was unorganized and a let down (mac and cheese?). The drinks were high priced and overall we were not impressed. Possibly it was an off day for them.

Excellent Mexican dinning without leaving your hotel

By Tyberias |

After your long day of exploring San Diego, eat and drink at this fine Mexican resturant, with a Mariachi band, located inside Kings Inn Hotel.

Who Would Guess?

By Long_Isl_and_NYC_CFE |

What a surprise to enter this great, well-decorated, with extremely comfortable seating and live music restaurant that appears like anything but from the outside. Our Saturday night experience of great food, good portions, low prices and friendly service brought us back for more on Monday evening, even though we only had a week to try the plethora of San Diego Mexican eateries.

Wish they were in Utah

By Scott W |

WOW, that's all I can say about the food! I don't know what they do different from other restaurants, but keep it up. The salsa is great, the rice and beans are great and the burrito's are great. I can't remember our waiter's name, but we had the best service! My credit card company was even surprised and called me to find out why I tipped so much! If you stay at the King's Inn they give you a coupon (I think 15 percent off). But you should go even if you don't stay there, it's worth it!

Mother’s Day Brunch

By TRULYBLESSEDAT60plus |

Took my Mother here for a Mother’s Day Brunch. I made 11:00am reservations and even though 10 minutes tardy, we were seated right away with no problem. The buffet was set up well with with a main course row, a fruit table, a dessert table and a carving station with ham, roast beef and create your own omelet. It was a little pricey at $22.95 a person but it was Mother’s Day. The waiters, waitresses and even the manager were constantly checking on us to make sure everything was alright. Needless to say, our plates were clean and upon exiting, they gave my mother a red carnation.

Authentic great Mexican food!

By Floridaparadise1 |

Loved the food and authentic feel! Great food- my friend had the $6,95 burrito- HUGE! And yummy. So authentic that the only salsa they had was far too hot for us; my tacos were amazing! And as King's Inn guests we got 15% off. Unreal!!!

Nice and quiet dinner.

By Karen N |

It is nice after a long day of vacationing to simply walk to dinner. We enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the Amigo Spot. We dined at a few other restaurants that were just too loud. The portions are very large which is great for a hungry husband. Affordable, and friendly.

Last Minute Dinner

By Naja W |

The food was good and the mixed drinks looked amazing! We had the most delicious sandwiches, fries, salads and my husband had a great drink called the "Cadillac."

Beautiful, friendly, tasty

By Kamo P |

We were staying at Kings inn. So we didn't need to go anywhere in search of food. It is here: always fresh, always tasty Mexican food. Staff is great. The atmosphere takes you to Mexico, music is quiet not bothering. Prices start with 4 dollars and end with 19. For 15 bucks I got such huge dishes I hardly could eat. So why not visit it if you are at Kings inn or even in the neighborhood?

Average food, pretty good drinks!

By tyrant_virus |

Me and my husband were staying in the Kings Inn so thought we'd just stay in and try this place, and we had a 15% off voucher for being guests. It was okay.. The food was very average and they don't seem to care much for presentation. The drinks were really good value! Huge margaritas! Even though they didn't have the flavour I wanted. It was still good! It was fine to save us from driving around trying to find somewhere to eat. I'm not sure I'd recommend this place and I doubt I'd return..

A surprisingly broad selection plus ordinary Mexican food.

By CyberEdge |

This is the on-site option for dinner and drinks at King's Inn. You won't regret stopping here for a cocktail and staying for dinner. The Friday night entertainment left a bit, well, a lot, to be desired, but everyone was having fun and the food is goo at reasonable prices.

The Food, Service, & Entertainment was Excellent

By David Miller |

My wife and I went to the Amigo Spot in Mission Valley the other night and had a great dinner. Shawn our server was outstanding as his big smile and funny attitude made our dinner very enjoyable. La Valley the Host/ Busboy was also so nice and pleasant to be around. Also David Timothy Smith the key board Musician was excellent as his great voice and his calm and smooth music was so relaxing. David performs at the Amigo Spot on Thursdays from 6-9, and Fridays and Saturdays from 7 to 10. Shawn brought us 2 of the Amigo Spot's Giant Margaritas to start our meal. My wife had 2 Mole Enchiladas which were filled with shredded chicken, topped with Mole sauce. My wife said they were delicious. I had the Chile Rellano and Enchilada Combination with Rice & Beans, which was also very good. For Dessert my wife and I shared the Deep Fried Ice Cream Topped with whipped cream, chocolate & Caramel Sauce, which was very good. The AMigo Spot is a great place to eat, drink, and enjoy some nice music !

Exceptional Service! Very Polite!

By JDog584 |

This review earned 5 stars alone from me just for how polite the bartender was. He was working alone and came over to my table and served me (I was not seated at the bar). I had an Enchiladas Rancheras and it was good. I was content afterwards. The Amigo Spot is located in the Kings Hotel and was easy to access. I recommend stopping here if you are looking for a low key, casual environment. There were tv's in the restaurant that had local sports on as well.

Awesome Mexican Fare at Fair Prices !!

By DannyWasserman |

We ate here twice, once in person and once take out for our room. The carne asada has so much meat, I highly recommend it. The portions are plentiful and the atmosphere is so generous, they go out of their way to help you.

GOOD FOOD !

By zaida c k |

Really good atmosphere , Nice Happy Hour and very good appetizers! Really nice especially if you are staying at the hotel.

Poor Fajitas

By Andrew |

After a long day or travelling we were staying at Kings Inn so decided to eat at the nearest restaurant, Amigo Spot. I'm a fan of Mexican food, difficult to go wrong with fajitas etc. Unfortunately the food we got was very poor. Steak in the fajitas was so tough it was inedible, the steak also had a very strange taste from it, I hoped it was the seasoning. The corn wraps were terrible, the chicken & fried onions/peppers were edible but not brilliant. Overall very disappointing & as a result we did not try the breakfast place next door or visit Amigo again.

Very Good Mexican Restaurant

By mlowder500 |

While in San Diego, I wanted Mexican one night for dinner, and TA had good reviews for Amigo Spot, so I decided to try it. It was very good! My server was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good, and the portions were very large!!! I wasn't disappointed. I'd recommend it!!!

Great food and friendly staff!

By Alexandra J |

We stayed at the Kings Inn for 3 days and ate here every night. Not only is the food great, but the staff is amazing! The bartender/server that was there every night was so friendly and kept us entertained!

Great mexican

By Pecito13 |

Waiters were absolutely and purely friendly. Food was tasty and good value for money. One of the best mexican restaurants that I have visited in California. Not too fancy but everything is good. I would come again.

Not to my taste, but this is personal

By Bea T |

As we stayed in the Kings Inn hotel, this was actually the only possibility to have dinner without taking the car. They tried their best to give you the feeling that you are in Mexico, but the decor is now a bit out dated. The menu has a lot of choices and maybe I did not pick the right thing, but I was not a fan. We ate here twice and both times I wrote in my travel dairy, food is not good. Unfortunately I do not recommend this place.

Good Food

By shane769 |

We went to this restaurant 3 times in our visit. Food is really good, nice friendly atmosphere. Walk distance from our hotel, on hotel circle. Weekend they had a live band playing. Food is authentic Mexican food.

Exquisite fish taco

By M L |

Good place to eat in hotel circle. Fish taco was excellent. Fish was moist and cooked perfectly. Simple clean flavours. Small menu which simplifies decision making.

Enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

By samjuanhill1 |

We stayed at the Kings Inn and had dinner on our first night at The Amigo Spot. The service, food and atmosphere was just what the doctor ordered after a long day on the road. It was a Friday eve and the place was packed but not wait time, the waitress was quick and very good at her job. Yum!!!

Awesome

By Martha W |

The staff and food are fantastic. The bartenders know their craft and their service and attention to detail our out of this world.

Absolutely Amazing Foood!

By paulwhughes |

Firstly, I don’t write reviews on restaurants. Ever. But this place is THAT good it really deserves such a great review. Authentic, quality, homely food that is really fresh and flavorful. The service we fantastic - really warm and welcoming and the prices were so reasonable that we’ll be back again tomorrow!

What a great mexican restaurant in the Hotel Circle area!!

By Leslie K |

The portion size for drinks and food are HUGE-I had a michalada that I could not even finish that was zummy and the chicken fajitas that were enough for three people and were also excellent with lots of meat. The salsa was a bit hot and I loved it as it tasted so fresh and our server Melissa was so nice, efficient and sweet that I would go to any restaurant that she worked at she was that good!! We had a groupon which saved some bucks but the prices alone were reasonable and while we were leaving the musician was playing his tunes which were so relaxing. This place is a gem in the Hotel Circle area of San Diego!

Good Mexican at an affordable price

By fast72 |

Big margaritas and excellent carne asada. Restaurant was clean and staff was very polite. $2 street tacos on Tuesday on the patio.

Quaint little restaurant

By Wynner57 |

Food was good, and as usual in the USA quite large servings. Prices were good. Service was excellent and when one meal took more time than the staff expected, it was deducted form the tab.

Huge House Margaritas

By AKB-Unit |

Enjoyed the large House Lime margaritas! The food was delicious and we enjoyed the live jazz band too.

Freindy staff

By Shari H |

Friendly staff Food serves slow ,took a while after order for food to come to table and had an after taste of soap on the chicken tacos, jazz music was nice ( seems more like a cub for over 80 ) drinks where good

Good Mexican cuisine and atmosphere.

By Robert S |

We ate here as we stayed at the Kings Inn. We ordered the steakand chicken fajitas for 2.There was plenty of food and then some. The restaurant was cozy in the bar area. A gentlemen was playing the keyboard during dinner and played soft tunes. The waitress was busy, but took care of us in a timely manner. The food was hot and delicious. The restaurant was busy for a week night. For a little Mexican flair and a great atmosphere, this is a place to try.

Food good, service great!

By Susan H |

This was adjoining the hotel so was very convenient. We saw great reviews on Trip Advisor and so we checked it out. Great skirt steak (also in tacos) at a decent price as dinner specials.
