I️ was excited to try the menu as they had some great items. Had the Brussel sprouts and found there was too much of a soy / salty taste. Truffle Mac and cheese was a bit oily (think it was truffle oil). But the Nutella cheesecake was a nice surprise. And the service was impeccable. Nice folks. I️ would come again to try some of the other items despite the average nature of what I️ ordered.

Amazing brunch, quick and friendly service, great menu (perfect hangover cure) 100% recommended! Thank you so much!

A group of 8 of us arrived around 10:00 P.M. thirsty and very hungry. We were welcomed as if we were family members who had been missed for a long time. The bar tender immediately took our orders, which started a cascade of shots of various liquors, all backed by rousing shouts of l'chaim! Then, the waitstaff brought us appetizers, allowing us time to check the menu. When i arrived, I walked past a table where a plate of barbecue beef ribs sat waiting to be devoured. However, the ribs were not on the menu, and fortunately when I asked, I was assured that there were ribs remaining available. The menu is one page with a variety of food groups that would satisfy all diners, including the vegan member of our party. In addition to the ribs, we thoroughly enjoyed the brisket sliders with horseradish sauce, the fish (branzino), delicious hash browns, and very surprising fried brussels sprouts that had been marinated in a very flavorful spice mixture. In addition, the mushroom soup, served in a huge bowl, was unquestionably the best and most flavorful mushroom soup I've had anywhere in the world. The experience was heightened by the ambiance and warmth of the place, including open windows onto the street. We essentially closed down the restaurant at about 1:00 A.M. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Had a nice dinner here, very lively part of Williamsburg! Loved their kale caesar salad with chicken. Really nice waitstaff with great Australian guy, very hospitable.

I had a lovely brunch here by a table in the sun on my own, the food was excellent and the staff friendly. It was a great place for solo dining which can often be a pain. I would probably come here again if in New York.

We've been to the Bedford twice during May, and have positive experiences on both visits. Strangely, this is a busy and popular place, but this apparently is the first review on Tripadvisor.. Anyway we came there for some dessert on one occasion, and were positively surprised by both the chocolate macaroons and the chocolate cake / muffin / brownie (can't remember which!). Really enjoyed it and we love sweets so eat lots of it.. A few days later we came for brunch. Unlike some of the 'trendy' and 'cool' places in Williamsburg, we did actually get a table without waiting, and service was friendly and efficient even though it was busy. Quality of food was again great, and reasonably priced for the area. Did not get to sample the bar scene, so couldn't comment on that, but when we've walked past at night it's been busy and a great atmosphere. Will most definitely return if I have the chance.

Had a Bloody Mary with scrambled eggs and fries. Mediocre. The portions were very small. The Bloody was boring and note, we went to a place across the street from The Bedford and for several dollars less got a fabulous Bloody Mary, so just sayin... The service was okay, no complaints there. The place is nicely presented with not a large crowd, which surprised me since that particular neighborhood is slammed Sunday for brunch. I have been to this place in the past and didn't find it impressive at any point, so why I went back I do not know. It is also pricey.

Less than a block from my hotel. Great lunch with friendly staff. Also had great weather so we sat outside.

We stumbled across this bar when wandering around Brooklyn wanting something to eat. Great burgers on the menu. Staff very friendly. A quiet little place in a quiet area. Lovely.

Went here for happy hour drinks Saturday. $6 wine and margaritas, can't go wrong. Was a nice setting and pretty busy at the time. We did not eat but heard the food is also good here.

What a find. Right place at the right time for a lovely meal whilst exploring Williamsburg. The delicious lobster ravioli is served al dente and you actually get to choose how you'd like your plank burger cooked - what a refreshing change. Well worth a visit for the friendly service and relaxed ambience.

I was feeling hungry and thought to myself maybe I should have a burger AND mac n cheese. Then I saw the mac n cheese burger with mac n cheese instead of buns. Probably one of the best burgers I've had.

Came here for a party recently and had so much fun playing the games they have here. The drinks are well priced, and the service is quick. Will definitely come back and I’d highly recommend taking the time to visit.

This is our favorite brunch spot to go to. The food is consistently good - we've been a number of times and had numerous dishes and we have never had a bad meal. The staff are really friendly and the brunch cocktails are great and reasonably priced. We always bring friends and guests here.

We popped in to the Bedford for a lunchtime drink. Got the impression the waiter wasn't too happy with us because we weren't eating so his attitude kind of took the shine off our visit in a way. What I did like about the place was the cosy atmosphere in the little bar restaurant and the tiny seating area just on the street so that you can watch the hipsters of billyburg go by.

My wife and I came here for lunch, what a great spot! I must point out, our waiter was on point, he kept on checking on us throughout our meal. This is a Instagram popular location with items like the mac-n-cheese burger and drunken cookie dessert. My modus operandi is different, I don't need to take a picture. Serve me your best burger, the Bedford Burger. We are seated at a nice looking table. The space has a rustic charm, lots of wood and soft lighting. Our waiter takes our order, I order a beer and The Bedford Burger. A little smaller than what I expected but man this burger was dynamite! Packed with flavor, it was a juicy burger that I highly recommend. The brioche bun was fresh and the tangy melted cheese was the final touch. French Fries were also yummy, this dish is a must have for 2018. My teenage nieces can take pictures of the mac & cheese burger, if you want to try a good gastropub burger then I highly recommend The Bedford burger @ The Bedford

We where four people (2 adults and 2 teenagers), eating dinner on the 2. July 2015. Very good home made pasta, and the angus beef and the free range chicken was also very tasty and delicious!

Food was great. Drink menu looked interesting. The hamburger was especially juicy and tasty. Would not mind trying more of their menu.

Well, the place looks good, the food is so so, the wines are just far away from decent quality.... And we wait so much to be served... I call it bla bla bla, nice looking, nothing behind...

This place looks like the typical Williamsburg, Bushwick Brooklyn restaurant. seats about 50 people with an old fashion bar. Went with my wife and adult son for dinner. Had some very good drinks, especially the Black Maria. Anyway we split an order of 6 Charleston style oyster which were very interesting. My wife and I had very good burgers, and my son had the porchetta. Overall the meal was very good, service was good and the place had a nice vibe. Will probably schlep back to Brooklyn and go back.

My dad and I were horrified with Arby’s fried Mac and cheese. But the Bedford does it right with two “buns” of fried Mac and cheese on their burger. It was really good and I wish my dad was still around to have tried as well. Alejandro was a great host too. Five stars!

Great happy hour drinks and specials on snacks. Good selection of drinks and delicious fried Brussels sprouts. But the best part was playing guess that song to early 80's classic punk. The owners mix featured U2's first album, the Dead Boys, the Police, Ramones, the Smiths and so many more. We stayed for hours! Great service too!

There are a number of bars and restaurants in Williamsburg but this one was a favorite. It has a traditional British pub feel about it but the food is great, not too expensive and some great service. The weekends are definitely the busier time but even then you should be able to get a table for two within a few minutes. I'd recommend the burger and fries which were some of the best I tasted during my visit, but there was a reasonable selection of other equally appetizing dishes on offer. Washed down with a local ale, there's plenty in Williamsburg with the brooklyn Brewery just down the road, it was a very welcome pit stop.

Went for a light dinner on a Saturday night, no problem getting a table, and chose a grilled romaine lettuce salad and a beet salad, both fresh and full of flavours. Finished off with apple strudel and chocolate macaroons. Pleasant friendly service and atmosphere, reasonable prices, except all wines at 36 dollars a bottle.

We went for brunch which was all delicious! But, the best was the "Drunken Cookie," a warm chocolate chip cookie which you inject with a syringe of white chocolate. So fun! We also had some wonderful cocktails.

Back to basics food presented in a rough way. Warm informal atmosphere though a bit dark lighting inside in the evening.

The food was faultless, the special 'Brooklyn Benedict' was amazing. Setting is really cool, decent vibe to the place but the service was slow and our waitress was moody and unattentive. Would definitely recommend and revisit on a second chance basis but service with a smile wouldn't go amiss here.

A buddy and I go here a lot for a drink and burger after doing some design work. I like the easy vibe and the burger. It's a great neighborhood 'go to.' I recommend it if you live in the area.

Food is good but you get very little for the price. I got gulf shrimp and only got 5 little pieces with 4 pieces of toast.Price of wine by the glass is too expensive as well.

Stopped in for a few beers, then ordered apps. Love this place. Very approachable food, casual atmosphere, wonderful bartenders.

Came across this nice little place while exploring the area looking for somewhere to eat. Not the most extensive menu but at least it's not all burgers. Had a very very tasty steak and my partner had excellent tasty fish and chips. Very nice atmosphere although I would have liked a bit more light as it was really eating by candlelight. Reasonable prices for Brooklyn area. Would go back just for the steak.

My wife and I have been here a number of times and have recommended it to others and have never been disappointed. We've had everything from the specialty brick oven pizzas, mac and cheese burger, meatballs, risotto balls, Hanger steak, old bay fries, etc. They also have a great selection of specialty cocktails!

The Bedford is a great little place - always a friendly staff, although they do tend to change quite often. The menu is limited but what they do they do well. I have been there about 10 or 11 times over the past few months and always have had a nice meal, friendly staff and a fun time. Like I said the menu is small and does not change that often but they do have a VERY nice wine selection and there is a great wine special on Tuesdays that makes it very worthwhile.

My hipster SO wanted to go to Williamsburg to visit the stores and have lunch. As we were heading to Beacon's closet we decided to have lunch at this upscale pub beforehand, as it is just down the road. It does sort of cater to hip people with "trendy" food (kale caesar salad, house made granola etc). I ordered the bedford burger (grass-fed, custom blend, grilled onions, garlic aioli, chili ketchup & fries) and my SO ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich on Brioche Bun (carrot slaw, cilantro, aioli & mixed greens). We had half of each meal and both of them were very delicious! I was very happy with the food and had no complaints whatsoever. The service was prompt. The beer I had was very good as well. The meal overall was very good value for money. We sat outside and it was very cute. The man serving us was very friendly and helpful. I would come here again if I were in the neighbourhood.

This lovely little restaurant on the main drag of Williamsburg (that's in Brooklyn) is typical for this "no longer up-and-coming but actually arrived" neighborhood. W'Burg has many wonderful, little, innovative, creative restaurants that makes the neighborhood so attractive. We have been for brunch twice in the past few months and the food is delicious and different. Yes, there is the Bedford Burger and the Tuna Burger, nothing new, but there is also a breakfast burrito that's a little different from the pack, and a North Carolina pulled pork hash you really should try. And the place is nice to be in. It is supposed to look like an old school house, well, whatever it is, I like it. So go and try this place, we will certainly be back.

I found this spot through Tik Tok. The burger they were promoting was exactly as they said, it was amazing. I came with this burger in mind already and it did not disappoint. My friend also had a burger and loved it. The service was not great, but this burger, I will dream about in the days to come. I can have it at least once a week if possible. What would normally serve as bread for the burger was replaced with fried triple Mac n cheese. It was flavorful, delicious and a nice little spot. I will definitely come back. This is certainly one of those places where the service is not great but you can't help to come back because the food is that good. One last note- I can't forget about the old bay fries! I am a French Fry lover & it also did not disappoint. It was great! It's a great spot! Give it a visit!

After a long day around town, On a warm evening we spotted this place with few tables outside and we decided to give it a go. We weren't particularly hungry so we settled for starters (cantaloupe and melon and fried zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta) which proved to be absolutely delicious. The wine selection is remarkable and the glass of Barbera I had was fantastic. Finally the desserts have a nice refined spin and were totally worth. Good service, normal NY prices.

A cute little place where I enjoyed an excellent burger and fries, as well as a local seasonal beer.

We came across the Bedford while wandering the streets of Williamsburg. The food was good although portions very small.

With the changing scene due to so many new "cool" places to go in Williamsburg it's comforting to know that The Bedford continues to deliver as a local spot and a great place for a passing tourist to start or end their Williamsburg night out. The Bedford has not lost its edge with an attentive staff and a solid kitchen. Brunch does get busy though.

We stumbled on this place and enjoyed is so much we went back again. At the time it was staffed by Irish youngsters following that well-worn path. Good, unpretentious food and great beer served in a friendly atmosphere.

Small, authentic and Delicious restaurant! I ordered the roasted Brussel sprouts and the pumpkin gnocchi ... simply AMAZING!

We found this place our last night in the city, it was late and we wanted to eat on our way back to the place we were staying in Brooklyn. All four people in our party found something wonderful to eat even though we had one vegetarian one celiac and one person with several food allergies. The beer offerings on tap were excellent and made the beer snob in our group so happy he bought a t-shirt. The service was excellent and our server/the bar tender was extremely friendly and kind and went out of his way to turn the expresso machine back on (it was quite late), so we could have coffee after dinner with our drunken cookie which was quite and experience in and of itself. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly and offered the perfect respite on a cold winter's night after braving the holiday shopping crowds in the city.

We were in Brooklyn for four days and would walk past daily one evening we decided to go for dinner! What a great place great vibe and atmosphere and the food was fabulous I had the burger with macaroni cheese it was outstanding. Very responsibly priced and great service. I look forward to returning the next time I am in Brooklyn. Thank you for a great evening.

This is a gastro pub and the décor and menu reflect this. The burgers were great - really tasty, and it's always a good sign when you are asked how you would like them served.

Nice spot with good apps and cocktails. Clinton is the welcoming host and he is delightful. Staff are great, nice bar and welcoming dining area. The shushed peppers and fried artichokes are great. The Zelda cocktail is refreshing and yummy.

I have dined here a couple of times, both times I was struck by the lovely, cozy atmosphere. The food is great - I had a grilled cheese, but it's not your mom's grilled cheese! They have a few outdoor tables to enjoy a drink on a pretty summer day/night. I recommend a visit!

We had been at the Brooklyn brewery and walked by on our way to the subway. It looked nice and we decided to have dinner there. Greatest food so far!

We were staying in Brooklyn and were recommended to visit the Bedford by a random local and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed a lunch and some cocktails in the first room before we went to the back room to watch the football on the large screen. The drinks and food was very well made. Really enjoyed this visit.

God food. Food was good although the fries were a bit too salty. Good local beer from just near by Brooklyn Brewery.

Great burgers, good beer selection, other options but I would go with one of the burgers. I would go back.

We go here far too much! Just across the road from where we live, we can't believe how lucky we are to have such a great restaurant on our doorstep. I've been with friends, family and the fella and everyone always loves it. The owner (also owns The Roebling sports bar) is so lovely and always makes great efforts to make sure he knows and welcomes his diners. The food is incredible, my favorite being the salmon burger with a wasabi sauce, which the salmon is so fresh you can have cooked however you fancy. I have worked my way through the menu and have never been disappointed. The steak as well is delicious, with the best fries in the area. The atmosphere is always homely and the staff incredibly friendly. There is a great bar out the back for a happy hour drink before dinner. In short, if you love great food and an amazing atmosphere go here!

I had the mac' and cheese burger. It was awesome! The burger was flavorful and juicy and cooked to perfection. The macaroni and cheese bun was a unique and very delicious addition. We ate in the front room. Loved the industrial schoolhouse decor. Will definitely return!

We literally went here as it’s named after my home town (always a good reason). Really really nice red wines here, and we had some starters to nibble on - get the mac and cheese, it’s so nice! Really cute lay out, with little rooms going back, which gives it a really authentic feel!

Went on the Labor Day weekend and enjoyed a great brunch. Good service, large variety on the menu. Well worth it.

Stopped for very late "lunch" when happy hour started. Discovered by accident - many places we tried not yet open for business. Very happy that we found this one. The service and the food were both great. Servers were wonderful and friendly. Ate outside. Great place to relax, have fun, have a good meal, talk to people. I would definitely go here again.

BEST hamburgers, service and drinks! Walked from indigo Williamsburg Brooklyn to get some food and stumbled upon this fabulous gem. I highly recommend the walk and the food. They have a Mac and cheese deep fried as the bun with organic beef in middle.

11/7/2021 This is absolutely the worst food in Williamsburgh! My salmon burger was raw and so was my husbands beef burger. Waitress gave us glasses for water that remained empty until I asked for water. She never came back to check on our food so we sat there with raw burgers for 30minutes until I beckoned her from across the room. Had to ask for utensils as well. Don't waste your time or money at this place!

This is my standard go to for brunch but dinner there is delicious. Every. Single. Time. So worth it.

Ate here on a recent visit to New York with friends. Our host recommended this place & we are glad we went. The food was great as was the service. Highly recommend.

Just ate at this place and wow! The mozzarella burger was amazing. My friends had the avocado toasts and the English breakfast, both very delicious. Looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended.

Good food, not necessary tapas like but with a good decently priced wine! Good service! Couple of tables outside. Go!

We went for lunch. Were quickly seated. Very nice atmosphere in a cool area. Good service. Burgers were very good.

We ate brunch, a la USA style, every day of our visit and this was probably our favourite. The 'specials' board each day provided the usual diversions from standard menu, although the regular menu showed thought and consideration in planning.

A small burger was great, with spicy fries. Also an ALT riff on a BLT, subbing avocado. Really good beer too. Nice atmosphere, great stop if you're wandering around Williamsburg.

Our friends invited us to the Bedford for drinks with a group of out of town guests. Great staff, good food, comfortable seating and relaxed ambiance. It was loud, but we could still visit. Nice place for a drink and a chat

Stopped in for lunch here, was a great quiet little place, good service and the crispy chicken burger was soo good! They have the most amazing paprika aioli

Had a well-lubricated birthday brunch at the counter of the Bedford. Affable barman, great food, ambiance, beer on tap. Totally fun place to hang on a Sunday afternoon.

Authentic us restaurant. Reasonable prices. Excellent food and excellent music. Try their brooklyn beers and the mint julep creme brûlée.

The reviews I read before visiting the Bedford did not come close to how excellent the food was. We had a wonderful dinner and the servers and restaurant staff were amongst the most welcoming and helpful you could hope for. We had booked in Opentable and we were greeted and taken to the table we had requested, our server had noted from the booking that two of us are veggie and he started to talk us through the menu choices. And were there choices! The meal can be summed up by saying how often in your life have you been able to say 'those Brussels sprouts were amazing!'. And so they are - crispy brussel sprouts - go there just to try them. They capture how talented the chef is. We had plate after plate of truly wonderful taste sensations. We ordered two mains (entree in the US) and four small plates to share amongst three of us. The risotto balls - outstanding. Avocado toast - knock out. The tomato risotto - not easy to get the kind of flavours and textures the chef achieved - knock out. I could go on. Go to the Bedford - Manhattan needs to find some better reasons to tempt me away from all the outstanding restaurants in Brooklyn. Love it.

Wonderful brunch menu from eggs to salads~ We enjoyed all of it. The decor is spot on and the service was attentive. Great value~

We stopped in here for a light dinner. Enjoyed several of the small plates. The quasadilla nachos were a big hit. The burger was very good. The service was good and the small patio was nice on a quiet August evening.

I had a dinner there as a single traveler, and it was a good choice. Friendly server and a very nice Red Snapper special. Comfortable and recommended.

Terrific neighborhood spot, a landmark of pre-yuppie Williamsburg. Try the avocado toast or the chicken club ... great service, good place to hang out. In winter they have spiked cider ... makes it worth coming out in the cold!

We stoppes there for a drink in the afternoon so I won't be able to comment the food (however it looked good). The place is super cute and the staff is more than welcoming. I definitely loved this place and I highly recommend it!

The Bedford (and Bedford Back Bar) are great. I've been going here for years and always have a good time. The Bedford itself is a great restaurant with good food and a nice setting. Can't go wrong there The BackBar is awesome. We've always enjoyed the dark, luxurious setting coupled with casual, friendly service and great drinks. This place manages to give you a "speakeasy vibe" without the pretension. We've hosted many parties here as well, such as birthdays etc.. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The bartenders are talented and eager to share their knowledge with you if asked. Drinks are killer. Enjoy it!

A sweet evening to have our first meal of our trip to visit our daughter in Brooklyn. Atmosphere very pleasant. The service was more than excellent. Very attentive. The food was very good for all. I loved the Brussel sprouts!!

Had seen a video on Facebook and decided to make the trip over and it did not disappoint. We had a round of happy hour cocktails which were prosecco, vodka and thyme lemonade. We then moved on to the Mac and cheese burger and the mozzarella burger. They were absolutely divine. Make sure your hungry because the portions are good. We also got the drunken cookies for dessert and they were to die for. We will definitely be back, a real gem.

The Bedford is my new favorite spot in Brooklyn. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and the customer service is oh so friendly! We dined at The Bedford multiple times in one weekend so that we could taste as much of the menu as possible. I especially loved the brussels sprouts, the mushroom ragu (a special, I believe) and the jalapeno margarita! The Sunday brunch options were fantastic as well. I will be making at least one visit to The Bedford each and every time I travel to Brooklyn.

We literally had brunch, lunch and dinner at the Bedford. It looks like a cute little bar but omg...the food and drinks are to die for. It gets very crowded for brunch so either go early or be patient for the wait (the wait is worth every minute)

Ordered mostly sides and ate dinner tapa style. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts and baby beet salad.
Fantastic place. Mario was great.
Fantastic place. Great food. And had lovely waiter called Mario. Had a great chat with him. The world needs more people like mario. He made my day. They are lucky to have him.
