First time at this place for an impromptu Mother's Day eve family meal. Great atmosphere; open air porch like setting. The Creole Barbeque Shrimp and Grits were tasty, but at $17.95 for a small bowl with one hush puppy? Not really a good value.

There are times when you receive so much good feedback about an establishment and when you finally patronize the establishment, your experience is not up to par. This is what happened with my visit here, but for the record I am going to visit again and see where it takes me. I came here with my niece for happy hour food specials. We ordered the hushpuppies which were cooked to long and a few seconds before burned. We also ordered the calamari and the individual strips were tasty but the bigger pieces were inedible. The bar attendant offered to replace them but my taste buds were so turned off. They have a large outdoor patio and the restaurant has appeasing ambiance. I can't suggest patronizing at the moment but I will follow-up on my next visit.

My husband and I tried the Big Ketch on a recent trip to Buckhead, and it did not disappoint! The décor seemed upscale and eclectic, and other than the fact that the interior was a little noisy (it was a full house), it was a great location. The drinks were strong and delightful, the lobster bisque was divine and the lobster roll....ok, that was positively crave-able! Imagine a buttery, crunchy, pillowed piece of white bread, wrapped around a ton of fresh lobster - drawn butter on the side. I had seen some negative comments about portion size, but I'm glad that didn't deter us. The portions were perfect, and all of the fish/lobster was fresh! If someone is looking for plates covered with (deep fried, questionably obtained, previously frozen imported icky) seafood, then there are plenty of chain restaurants that would meet that need. We will definitely be back!

I hadn't been here in a while and now I've been twice in the last week and a half for lunch! The grouper sandwich is cooked perfectly and the collar green side is a winner!

After reviewing all the positive reviews, I was surprised by the experience I had. First I sat at the bar and it was clear by the binder the bartender used that he was not a mixologist. So both of my mixed drinks were not good at all. Then I requested a few of sides including oysters on the half shell and they tasted old. The sides arrived roon temperature. I could have forgiven the taste of my drinks and food except the table I ended up sitting at was sticky. I will not be eating at this restaurant again and cannot in good conscious recommend it.

Great place in Atlanta ! Antigone was special all the time! Grateful! Was a pleasure ! Thanks for all !! Family place … good taste !!!

My husband and I were staying in Atlanta for the weekend and wanted some good seafood. After checking the Tripadvisor reviews, we decided to try The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill and so glad we did! The atmosphere is a laid back beach feel and our server, Reagan, was very friendly and attentive. She explained that their seafood is brought in fresh daily and is never frozen. We had the crap & shrimp dip appetizer and split The Reel Big Ketch dinner (grilled shrimp, scallops and jumbo crab cake) with hush puppies, smashed potatoes and parmesan corn on the cob as our sides - it was all delicious!! They even split the dinner on two plates when served so we didn't have to do it. Also, the Mai Tai was yummy and my husband's Crown on the Rocks was a great pour. Highly recommend this place!!

This is a nice restaurant with some very good food, bur forget the soup. Either the clam chowder or lobster bisque are like dishwater with nothing in them other than a big chunk of potato. We were in a large group. Some entrees were excellent, others not.

This place reminds me of restaurants at the beach. The food is excellent but when my wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary early one evening they were out of scallops, suggesting that they either had a run on scallops, serve extremely fresh food or do a poor job of buying. We had fried grouper instead and while it was excellent grouper it was overcooked. We will likely give them another chance, largely because friends rave about this place.

I met a friend here for lunch and it was my first visit. There were two people at the reservation/reception desk. The lady wasn't too friendly but the guy was super nice and personable. We decided on the patio and they had a ton of fans and its covered to keep it cool. There were two servers and one lady was just starting but super enthusiastic. We ordered the seared tuna appetizers, lobster roll with slaw, and the crab cakes with brussel sprouts. The tuna appetizers and crab cakes were good but didn't blow me away. The lobster roll was really good and I would order it again. Overall we really enjoyed the attentive service, simple but good seafood and relaxing atmosphere of the patio.

Live music, nice cocktails, fresh fish. What's not to love. Will be back. We came early to beat the 7:00 crowd.

We had a late lunch/early dinner at the Big Ketch, which a friend had recommended. It was a real treat and very affordable, too. My seafood Cobb salad was nothing short of fabulous with the Meyer lemon vinaigrette dressing. My husband and I shared a half order of hush puppies as an appetizer which came with a delicious remoulade. Do not miss them when you go.

I had passed by this place many times and finally decided to stp and try it out. I went with a friend on a Sunday evening for dinner and were promptly seated on the patio. It was a warm evening and the patio was quite comfortable with several fans blowing around. Also, they had a musician playing some contemporary, soft rock songs and it was nice and not overwhelming. We started off with some beer and hush puppies. The hush puppies were good as appetizers, but don't get them as appetizers because they come with your meal, anyway. I had the shrimp and scallops with creamy grits and loaded baked potato salad. All were excellent. My friend had the grouper with green beans ad fruit, which was excellent, as well. It was a great experience, overall, and I would recommend it all, both young and old. It is a good place for a romantic evening for 2 up to a larger party and the prices were reasonable.

Should be able to do 1/2 stars on this site. A little pricey for lunch but everything in Buckhead is. Fish was cooked perfectly which is rarely done. Service could've been better and certainly faster since we were on our lunch hour but we managed. I had the special swordfish and roasted brussel sprouts. Good. Wished the salad had come out prior to the meal but you can't have everything. Like I said, service was mediocre at best.

Where shall I begin? Ah the lobster roll! Bread and lobster together great combo. Sweet mango chili sauce served with the crispy shrimp—amazing! Blackened chicken breast—just right. My daughter didn’t like her crab and shrimp dip, but the rest of the meal was so great that it compensated for that.

We have been wanting to visit this location and the Roswell location for a while. We had a party of six with 2 of them elderly. They squeezed us at a table for 4 even though there was another 2 top next to us that they could have pulled over. They took our drink order pretty quickly. But it took forever to get it. One even had to ask twice for their glass of wine. We ordered the clam strips and hush puppies for apps. Clam strips were chewy. My wife and I both ordered creole bbq shrimp and grits for our main. Menu said white wine sauce with tomatoes and peppers. It was a very heavy gravy, no peppers and a ton of sliced fresh cherry tomatoes on top. The same with the side salad. A ton of tomatoes. Between the salad and grits there were easily 20-25 cherry tomatoes. That is 40-50 slices of tomatoes on one plate! Service was very slow and the rest of the mains were good:..not great. I may give the one in Roswell a shot but don't have high hopes.

Grouper crusted in potato chips and deep fried along with grilled broccoli was an interesting meal. Great service! I wasn't a fan of their Bloody Mary which is a signature item.

We had (1) Peel and Eat Shrimp (2) Shrimp and Grits with Onions and Peppers (3) Crab Cake with Mashed Potatoes and Collard Greens (substituted instead of Broccoli). First, let me say this ... I am NOT a person that EVER eats vegetables, and especially not green vegetables. That being said, I cook Collard Greens for my family every Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I thought I’d try them. THEY WERE AMAZING!!! I ate all of the Collard Greens first!!! Honestly everything was really, really good. I would give the Peel and Eat Shrimp 4.6 out of 5 stars. I would give the Shrimp and Grits 5 out of 5 stars! I’m not even a Shrimp and Grits person, but the shrimp was cooked perfectly and it was great! I would also give my Crab Cake meal a 5 out of 5 stars, the substitution was perfect! The Collard Greens were amazing! I will definitely go back and would highly recommend this place to friends and family!

My family and I visited this restaurant on 4/24/16. For for of is at lunch we paid $96. Didn't expect lunch to be that much, but nevertheless the food was seasoned well. The lobster roll was pretty good, although I would like to see it prepared with a bit more like a sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes. For $18, you only get the meat with a roll no sauce comes on it. My son and hubby loved the crab cake and crab burger. Again, tasty but will have to watch how we order for lunch next time.

Our first visit and we will be back! Food & service was great (Sarah was our server). We both had the grilled grouper (hubby had his blackened) & smoky caesar salad. The dill tarter sauce is so yummy! He had a cup of lobster bisque & I had the cilantro lime KaleSlaw...all good. Perfect portion sizes. Highly Recommend!

I've been here before and enjoyed very much but I recently went and ordered their lobster roll and it was the most over cooked, driest sandwich I've ever had. Cannot believe this is what they serve?? Do not order it you will be really disappointed.

I was so excited to see a new seafood restaurant open in Roswell. Our service was good....no complaints there. The food was "just ok". The food presentation and ambiance felt more like what I would get at Red Lobster and although the price was fair this would become a distant memory soon. Lobster bisque was my highlight. Sorry, but this missed the mark.

Recently my partner and I needed a seafood fix on Saturday afternoon. Many of the "usual suspects" were closed until dinner. We found The Big Ketch and we are glad we did. We have passed this establishment many times and never really paid attention. It is in an old strip shopping center just north of the heart of Buckhead. The menu is not extensive but it is interesting. We like to eat "tapas style" and try several small dishes so we started with the smoked fish dip and home made and beautifully seasoned pita chips. It was a delicious starter dish. We then had fried oysters followed by lightly seared tuna. Both were excellent. Then we shared a bowl of lobster bisque. Every dish was outstanding and perfectly seasoned. Our table was near the kitchen entrance so we could see all the dishes on the way to their respective tables. Each dish was beautifully prepared and presented nicely. This is not what I would call a gourmet restaurant and it appears to cater to the millennial crowd with a nice bar and several big screen television panels. However, it was a lovely surprise and the food was delightful. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. If you are in need of a seafood fix, try this place. Oh yea, it is modestly priced as well. Try this lovely surprise. You will be pleased that you did.

My wife and I went to TBK last night for dinner. I thought it would be a tacky seafood restaurant like Joe's Crab Shack but it was a very nice looking restaurant. The decor takes your imagination right to the beach. However, the food did not. The menu looked great but the food was nothing special. The food lacked flavor, the fish and chips were way over battered (we had to peel off half of it just to find the fish), but the server was wonderful. I got the feeling that the food was not as FRESH as it claimed and it tried to cover it up. I will be coming back for the drinks, patio, and live music. I'll just eat when I get home.

We wanted seafood & this was close to our hotel. Everything tasted so fresh! Our waitress said that nothing is ever frozen & fish is wild caught. We ordered crab cakes & fried catfish. For sides we had hush puppies, grilled broccoli, loaded baked potato salad, & Parmesan corn on the cob. We loved everything! You can sit outside or in. We were there in the evening and there was live music. It was really good!

Was in Atlanta for a quick trip and was taken to the Big Ketch by a local friend. Seating was very slow as our reservation got mixed up but it was worth the wait. The meals were all very good and huge compared to the portions we are used to. I was dared to try the grits (which we don't have in Canada) and was pleasantly surprised to find them quite edible. Fish was fresh, service was extremely friendly, and atmosphere was typical down south hospitable. Would definitely go back if given the chance.

Business colleagues and I left a conference in search of oysters . We found what we were looking for. Sat outside listening to a musician with great drinks eating oysters, tuna poke and calamari. We had a great time. I will go back here again on a cool weather evening.

Very good seafood with the best wait service... very friendly and attentive! Will totally be back soon!

Found this place using Yelp. We were really looking to find a decent seafood spot for dinner and this place was well rated. To me, the atmosphere is perfect for a warm summer night. We sat outside, so we had a nice breeze and live entertainment. The waitress was friendly and attentive, which is pretty much all I want and need for it to be considered good service. The food was pretty good. I didn't want to eat too heavy so I had grilled shrimp skewers with both Caesar and potato salad. It was delicious, however the potato salad was kind of salty IMO. We also ordered a side of hush puppies, which were pretty good too:) All in all, I would definitely visit the Big Ketch the next time I'm in Atlanta.

The healthy options offered here are wonderful. The salad with Quinoa was delicious. The Crab Cakes has buttery taste with a slight crunch in every bite! My goodness I almost ordered one to go!

Great seafood but if you like salmon this is the place to go. Reasnably priced especially for the quality.

This restaurant is in a strip shopping center located on one end with indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is covered and some is not. Our first time! Had dinner here with my daughter and wife. We were pleasantly greeted when we arrived. We made reservations for 6:00 and seated on time. Our waitress, Erica, was extremely nice and helpful. Restaurant was clean and has a nice ambiance. See pictures. We came here to eat their Lobster Roll. They offer a hot or cold roll. I had the hot and my wife had the cold. We both agreed the hot was the best. Also had chips with shrimp/lobster dip and lobster egg rolls. The lobster rolls could have been a little bigger and the egg rolls were missing something. They offer a great selection of items on their menu. Looking forward to my next visit!

I have never been as exited going to a new restaurant - Grand Opening night! I said to my friends this is the night they will have everything right. I called the restaurant to make reservation. They don't take reservation, you have to book through Open Table. When we arrived I was surprise to see the restaurant half empty. Opening Night What! Inexperienced people in the service, need some additional training. Starters like Hushpuppies and the House Smoked Fish Dip was good. For Main dish most of us had the Coca-Cola BBQ Salmon which was over cooked. The Fish IN Chips and Crab Cake was Ok. Must have been a long day for the staff since I got the feeling that they wanted you out. We were celebrating 50 year birthday so this was huge disappointment! Not sure I will go there again. Sorry to say - I was big time wrong!

We ate here twice in two weeks w/ two other couples. First time services was poor, food average, portions small and menu limited esp for side choices. Second time, menu changed but was still limited to include sides, portions still small, food was still average and service was still poor. I ask to take home the hush puppies as they were my favorite thing on my plate, the server forgot and threw them away, REALLY!! I will say I did enjoy the casual atmosphere and sea theme, but that is the best thing I can say about the place!!

The food was like an Applebee's but seafood. Service was ok. Nothing stood out about this place. I would only go if I had no other options.

This was recommended by the hotel. Started out with the fish dip, a little too much mayo not enough fish. The mussels were descent size and tasty. We ordered the brussels sprouts and the grilled broccoli. They were just ordinary. The grouper sandwich was probably the best pick on the menu. It was tender and flaky, very moist. The service was friendly and knowledgeable.

Amazing grouper sandwich and quinoa salad was delicious. The hummus sampler was great, the pita chips had a great seasoning. It was pretty loud in the restaurant, but nevertheless a great experience.

This is our go to spot in Buckhead for a casual meal. Always good. And congratulations for winning The Golden Spatula! (Look it up!)

Atlanta has very poor seafood choices, but this place could rival any seaport city for great and FRESH seafood. Portions are not big, but prices also not huge either. The crowd is different on different nights. This past Friday, it was like a sorority reunion (and I don't mean that in a good way...so loud you can barely hear the person next to you.) Overall, I will go back often. It is delicious!

Looking for a seafood place in Buckhead, this is it. Small and friendly dining areas including outdoor options and excellnt food. Great service from Curtis, the Manager as well.

Poor reception, poor setting, poor service, poor food, poor quality and presentation. Enough said!!!!

My wife insisted we try this place while visiting Atlanta. Service was very good and the fresh fish special was unbelievable. Salmon and grits and fresh grouper. Would definitely recommend great value.

This is the first time I went to the Roswell location and did so with a large group. We received a special price for their burger royale and a brew. It was all O.K. but nothing special. It does not compare to their seafood dishes which I have always enjoyed. Service was a little slow but we did have a lot of people so it is understandable.

Food is consistently good. Fried oysters and grilled grouper sandwich are my favorites. Nice patio with live music at times.

Eight here at recommendation of our driver. Very good food very good quality and very good staff. Will return

Both management and service were horrible. We had lunch reservations 6/16/19. We waited over 10 minutes to get seated, even though there were tables open. We placed our order and then did not see the server for 25 minutes. 25 minutes later and an hour after we arrived, we still did not have our lunch and the server did not know exactly when it would be ready. We decided to leave.

One of us had shrimp with grits which was good, but the other meal, the fried shrimp, was sub-par. The shrimp were in some sort of squishy breading which was not crispy and had a bland and somewhat unpleasant taste. The hush puppy was very hard and not much flavor. The smashed potatoes would taste better if they properly mashed them instead of leaving them with big lumps - and once again, flavor was nothing to write home about. Side of collards was delicious but had too much chili for many people - there is no reason to make it so spicy so that some folks can't enjoy it. It felt like the kitchen might not be getting the supervision it needs to keep standards up, but it also seemed that the chef just has a misguided approach to some standard dishes.

The Big Ketch is consistent in providing upbeat service and good cooking. The hush puppies never disappoint and the food is always good. It is not pretentious and the prices are very reasonable. You can't go wrong with this restaurant.

We just lucked up on this place traveling down the road in Buckhead. We were initially going to try Buckhead Saloon but the place was dead, so we gave the Big Ketch a try. We were happy with the overall service, food and atmosphere of the place. The hushpuppies were awesome, oysters were reasonably priced, and music was relaxing. It is great date night for sure in Atlanta. All of the food was reasonably priced. I will definitely be back to try the lobster roll in the future. Also this restaurant uses its own produce produced at a local farm that they manage themselves which is very green these days.

I love the seafood here. It is affordable, and seems to be really fresh. The atmosphere is great! There is nice outdoor seating and live music almost every night I believe!

My wife and I ate dinner at the Big Ketch this week. They have a nice seafood menu with good variety. I ordered shrimp and scallops prepared with jerk seasoning. I was well pleased with the dish. My wife had the shrimp and grits which she enjoyed. Our service was very good and our food arrived quickly and was presented well. Just as FYI Maps was not accurate using the address on the restaurant website. It was several blocks off.

Great food at a great price! Only bad thing was the booth was uncomfortable. Also loved that the had the calories next to some of their lower calorie drink options!

The restaurant makes you feel like you're on the coast near a dock! We went on a Sunday evening and the place was nearly full! The patio offers semi outdoor seating and live music. I ordered the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll which was a hotdog bun filled with Lobster and mashed potatoes as a side which were delicious!! Lobster roll was smaller than I thought but was very tasty!

If you want that fresh piece of fish or those delicious fritters you expect to eat when visiting the Gulf you can get them right in the heart of Buckhead. The proprietors do an excellent job of sourcing fresh ingredients from the Gulf and plating them within days of being sourced. I used to not be able to find a grouper sandwich anywhere in the city that tasted like the ones you can usually get at any good beachtown dive - but look no further - The Big Ketch has it and then some!

We went with friends to The Big Ketch. It was our first time. It was nice sitting safely outside. My wife & I shared the lettuce wedge ($9.95), which was large & excellent. I had the lobster roll ($19.95) and had a cup of the lobster bisque ( added $2) as my side. The lobster bisque was just OK. The lobster roll was excellent although for $20 I would have expected a bit more lobster. My wife had the grouper sandwich ($16.95) which came with a side, she had the fries. The grouper was very good & the fries excellent. She didn't expect the slaw to come on the sandwich & didn't care for it. Our friends had similar dishes with oysters on the half shell which looked fresh & delicious. They tried the keylime pie which was very good. Our server Ryan was excellent. It was a very good meal. I downgraded my review from 5 stars because of the bisque & amount of lobster in the lobster roll.

I had a business lunch here today, and absolutely fell in love with the food. The lobster/crab bisque is delicious and some of the best you'll ever have. I had the grouper sandwich and it was beyond delicious. This place doesn't own a freezer if that tells you anything!

Food , service and casual atmosphere were great. Enjoyed the live music. Would definitely come again.

We love The Big Ketch! Every entree we have tried has been cooked to perfection - and not too much and yet filling! Love the apps - whether seared ahi tuna, rolls, or whatever - just great! Last night we enjoyed crisp salads with light dressing on the side, and the salmon - with a side of green beans - and carmelized onions - wonderful! Plus, we always order hush puppies and enough to bring some home as they are so good! Hats off to the chef - and love the music on the patio - thanks for an affordable, delicious evening out. Go and Enjoy!

This wasn't the best food we'd ever had, but it was a good meal, although a bit pricey for lunch. The service was just lazy. The server was attentive, but seemed like he'd rather be in a million other places. There were only a few tables occupied - six or seven at most - in the entire restaurant, so it wasn't like he was too busy. He just didn't want to be there. Like one of the other reviews said, the menu is odd. And not totally understandable. Under the entrees, it says all are served with two sides unless otherwise noted. The shrimp and grits said it was served with a house salad, but didn't mention sides of any sort, so it confused us. My husband wanted to get the clam chowder as one of his sides, and the server told him he could do the chowder for a $2 upcharge. So my husband thought he was getting a salad and chowder, but after the order came, we questioned it, and the server explained that shrimp and grits only came with one side. Presentation was odd, too. I ordered the sea scallops entree with chilled brussel sprouts salad and a cup of lobster bisque ($2 upcharge) as my sides. All of that, plus two sauces, a lemon, one small hushpuppy, and two Saltines, were all served on the same plate. The sides were in separate square bowls, but everything was just jammed on the plate. I had to hunt for the skewer of four grilled scallops because they were sort of hidden. My husband's shrimp and grits and his clam chowder were both served in bowls on the same plate, with two Saltines and a hushpuppy. All of the food was seasoned great and tasted good. The brussel sprout salad had a ton of capers in it - like an entire bottle in my bowl. But the flavors were good. Overall, we liked our food, but nothing to write home about. We'll look for another option next time we're wanting seafood.

We went mid afternoon between lunch and dinner. Wasn’t crowded, comfortable atmosphere. Service was polite, helpful and timely. Great menu options. Food was delicious. Clean. Will visit again if in the area.

Just got back from dinner at this restaurant and can only say one positive thing. I got the fish special which was good, but they forgot the "sauce" for the fish as well as the salad dressing. My husband got undercooked scallops. The crab bisque was so salty we decided it was created to force people to order more drinks. The crab cake was "mushy". We did use a "travelzoo voucher" which we have always enjoyed and been shown great service using. Every other restaurant we have patronized were delightful and made us want to return. The people here treated us like second class customers. The manager avoided talking to us, although she asked the table beside us how their meal was. Not only was the food not great, but I will also be letting travelzoo know that the amounts listed on the voucher would have been extremely difficult to spend - so the "half price" dinner we ate could have been purchased for about what the voucher cost. $15 appetizer, $29 entree each, and $5 dessert. On the menu the highest cost appetizer $8.95, average entree was about $17 and we were not shown a dessert menu - who knows what the the dessert price was. I will never go again and they have spoiled the joy of using "travelzoo" for us. We will be suspicious of these offers in the future.

We came across this place by accident but we really enjoyed it. It has live music and the décor is pretty cool. the food was very tasty and fresh. We will go there again soon.

My husband and I enjoyed a nice meal of Fish and homemade chips at our first visit to The Big Ketch. Our server was very nice and the food was delivered timely and hot. The serving is large, and it was nice to have leftovers to take home. The dessert options for the night, were not too good, so we skipped it that night.

Market fish of the day was red fish. It was very good blackened. Scallops were pretty good as well. The broccoli was just ok. Some of us didn’t like it at all. The menu had good options to choose from. I would like to see a better variety of alcoholic drinks. Kids menu was basic but good.

Went to this restaurant based on reviews, I ordered a cup of lobster bisque which was luke warm, friend ordered jerk chicken sandwich which was the smallest piece of chicken outside of a fast food establishment, other friend order quinoa bowl which was the most palatable dish on the table. I would like not return.

I met a friend here for lunch. He lives in Atlanta and suggested it based on reputation. It was an awesome find. The baja tacos with fried grouper were exceptional. The combination of the perfectly cooked fish with the fresh corn and just the right amount of slaw was just right. The two packed tacos was just the right amount of food for lunch. Service was very good. The waiter kept our iced tea filled as needed. Highly recommend for a summer outdoor lunch.

We asked friends for a recommendation for dinner in the Buckhead area, and this was the result. I was unsure about seafood in downtown Atlanta, but trusted their judgment. The oysters and calamari we ate there were the best we have had this season (and we live on the coast)! The entrees (4 different choices) were all delicious, and the wine list was reasonable. Only drawback here is the noise level; even on an uncrowded evening, we had to speak very loudly to be heard at our table for four. Unexpected plus was the very friendly and courteous waitstaff.

We spent New Year’s in Buckhead and chose The Big Ketch randomly using Trip Advisor. We had lunch there on New Year’s Eve. It could not have been better. The oysters both baked and raw, were perfect, calamari and hush puppies fried to perfection, and a lobster roll that was to die for. Our service was also excellent: nice, personable, and efficient. There were 6 of us total, and no one had a single complaint.

The best Lobster roll in Georgia and love eating outside and listening to the music;;;great place for everyone of all ages.

Order 3 dozen oysters. First were great then order 2 more dozen and it was like the oyster shucker had no idea how to open them. Most of them were butchered and unappealing. My martini which was more than a dozen oysters was loaded with ice and tasted like water.

We've driven by dozens of time but never stopped but will be back. The menu is almost exclusively seafood with a good variety of offerings. The Spicy Cioppino was spicy as advertised and the sauce was much thicker than would have been expected but good. The Seared Tuna was properly cooked but I wasn't crazy about the seasoning and would order prepared differently next time. While the bar was fully stocked the wine selections were a little light, even for this type of restaurant.

My husband and I traveled over to Atlanta this weekend to celebrate our anniversary and we had a blast !! Friday night we decided we wanted seafood and I always check the web for The Best restaurants.... THe Ketch didn't disappoint!!! My husband ordered the Salmon, mashed potatoes, hush puppies, corn on the cob!!! I ordered Shrimp and Grits with peppers and onions, and bacon!! Both dishes were Delicious!!! Our server was great and very attentive. Our glasses were never empty!!! If your ever in The Buckhead of Atlanta, you should check them out!!!

Saturday night in Buckhead and friends suggested we meet at another place ( which didn't serve food and we were hungry ). We started walking and found Big Ketch. We got on wait list and they were able to seat our group of 4 within 15 minutes and were very friendly at the host station. Started with lobster eggrolls, good start as they were tasty and came out fairly quickly. My date had crab cakes and I had grouper entree blackened. While I can't claim either was outstanding, they were both sold and good, fish not overcooked. Nice addition of guitar player during dinner.

The food flavoris very good but the portions of fish are small and sides also small. $24 for small portion of fish and 2 sides sitting on a huge plate which makes it look worse. You will leave hungry.

Was very impressed with this restaurant. First of all, it is really cute inside - much cuter than what the outside looks like. They serve Boiled Peanuts as a freebie - but none of us are fond of the southern treat. Would have preferred bread and butter. I had the Lobster Roll for $16.95. Being from New England, I would give this a 3 on a scale of 1-5. It was good, but not great. It was not overflowing with lobster and had a lot of little scraps of lobster meat. The taste was good. I probably would not order it again, but get something else from the menu. My friend had the special Salmon Burger and her daughter a salad and Quinoa Bowl - which was very large. Everything was fresh and lots of other things on the menu I would like to try. Will be back.

Omg the food was soooo good. The best Brussel sprouts, grouper sandwich, and cheesecake had the best taste ever. I highly recommend this restaurant .

Came here for east coast oyster happy hour and some appetizers. Not sure if they were east coast, as they were the biggest east coast oysters I have ever seen. They had no flavor at all and could not be eaten. We ordered the lobster and crab fries. They were ok. It is fries served on top of lobster bisque with crab on top. The bisque made the fries soggy. The Mixed drinks were about the only highlight. They were decent and tasted good. With all the other good restaurants in Atlanta, we will not be returning here.

In the mood for fresh seafood and great service? Look no further than the Big Ketch in Buckhead. Grouper Tacos to die for and a Lobster Cobb salad that was mouth watering. Even better than the delicious food was the impeccable service from the wonderful Meagan. She knows her store, her menu and how to treat customers like they own the place. Truly an enjoyable dinner. Great service. Very reasonable prices. I’ll be back!

I have been here thrice and it's a great place to spend an evening out with friends. My last visit was last Friday. We picked this restaurant because it has live music every day and the singer was just super! His music set the mood and his choice of songs were wonderful! The service was great as always. Their crab shrimp dip with pita chips has always been my favorite. The calamari was ok and the shrimp po boy was pretty average. The fried catfish was good. From all my three visits, it seems like some dishes are better than the others but the crab shrimp dip was great consistently. Overall, it is still makes for a good dining experience.

This was a disappointing experience. Very bar-like atmosphere, people smoke near the entrance, and food mediocre.

Great live music on patio. Super grouper sandwich and shrimp and grits meal. Hush puppies nice treat. Good service too!

As we glanced at the menu we couldn't decide between entree choices or a big helping of appetizers. Cold beer (Corona Light) and specialty drink "Typhoon" kicked off the meal of appetizers which included fried oysters, crab and shrimp dip and hush puppies was a great combination and the fish and chips topped it off. My fav Crab and shrimp dip! Not the place I would pick for my #1 seafood Stop but nice to grab a quick bite and people watch from the outside deck with a cool cocktail or beer.

Stumbled upon this restaurant when looking for something different - and reasonably priced - in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Excellent food, casual ambiance, friendly and efficient staff. There's outside seating on a covered deck (on the afternoon we went, there was also live, acoustic music, which is a nice plus). Will definitely go again.

Went for an early dinner. The restaurant has an upbeat feel with a lively bar. The food is average at best. A cup of lobster bisque at $4.50 is just that...a small cup of soup. I had the shrimp poorboy sandwich with a small side. Both were OK but not great. My son had a lobster roll for $18 which was good but expensive for the portion size they gave. Service was busy but OK. Not sure if I will return as I think there are better seafood choices in Atlanta.

We chose this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews and it did not disappoint! We had appetizers of peel and eat shrimp, oysters, jicama slaw, side salad, lobster cobb salad, and the lobster roll. The oysters were a disappointment as it seemed two of them were missing or very small - I did not like them at all but my companion like the ones that were there a lot. Our server was very attentive and did not fail to bring any requests. We finished off with a Key Lime Pie and a Cappuccino chocolate pie. They were perfect for a lovely end to the meal. We were visiting Atlanta for a concert and stayed just around the corner. I recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

Our first time in, was greeted immediately by a super friendly server Casey, she seated us and served us. Our entrees where fresh and hot, will definitely be coming back!! Thank you Casey for such a great lunch!! Joe and Sabra

I have been looking for a place that make a good lobster roll for a long time and I have finally found one. The staff is knowledgable and friendly and made me feel at home the minute I walked it. The food was great.

I've been here twice now and each time the fish has been cooked perfectly. My family had the salmon, grouper, raw oysters, and the crispy fish appetizers. Everything was cooked well. My only small complaint is that my dinner salad was served on the same warmed plate as my fish entree, which did wilt the salad. However, I really like this place and will definitely go back. It is great seafood without any pretentious need to over dress.

We happened to see this restaurant as we were driving around one day and decided to try it the next night. The atmosphere was light and welcoming, service attentive, and the fish fresh. Our meal was absolutely delicious.

We were staying at the Wingate for a Chastain concert. Looking for something close we found this. We were wanting to eat at 3:00 PM. Strip mall setting, but at the end of the mall and nice enough. They had outdoor seating which looked nice enough but we sat inside. Service was ok. We thought the menu was good. Spouse had grilled crab cake with cheese grits and hushpuppies. I had grilled scallops with cheese grits and spicy melon salad (which was great). They offered 12-14 sides. This place is gluten friendly with many offerings marked GF. When we did not order an appetizer we were offered boiled peanuts which were great! Spicy. Full service bar. Since we were going to a Jimmy Buffet concert we had margaritas! They have live music most evenings. We enjoyed it

I visited this restaurant on a Thursday night with family. I tried the complementary boiled peanuts, lobster roll, lobster egg roll and lobster bisque. And washed it down with a cocktail called Naimi. Every thing was good but not good enough to pay that price for the children's portions sizes they served.

This was my second trip to The Big Ketch. If it was closer to me, I would be a regular here. This restaurant does not even have a freezer, so everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. It was a party of four and we started with the hushpuppies and the Shrimp & Crab dip. The hushpuppies have 6 in a half-order and 12 in a full. We got a full order and they disappeared fast. Very good with two dipping sauces. The Crab Dip was amazing. One of the best I have had in Atlanta, and the pita chips were so good you could eat them alone. For dinner two of us had the Buffalo Shrimp Po'Boy, one had melon salad for the side and one had red jacket potato salad. Both enjoyed everything on their plate. My husband and I both had the Fish In Chips - not a typo - the fish is battered in potato chips and fried. Very crunch and big portion. I only ate two of my three pieces and my husband couldn't finish mine - which is a first! We both had the smashed potatoes and he had cole slaw and I had the Parmesan Corn on the Cob. The Corn was the only disappointing thing I ate. Just not a lot of flavor. Good prices, great service and cute décor. Will be back next time I am in the area.

Although the food was very good the service wasn't. After waiting at least 15 after being seated we flagged down someone to take our drink order. Our food was very good but then again needed to wait for our drinks. Food was good enough for us to give it another chance.

We ordered the calamari, chagrined oysters, crab&lobster bisque and the crab&shrimp dip w pita chips for appetizers. Everything was absolutely delicious except for the bisque. For our entrée we had the fried shrimp, grilled 8sland chicken and the crab cakes. Everything was delicious. This pla e will nit disappoint at all. Service wa also great. Did I mention how good the oysters were! 😋

nice new building with an outdoor patio and live music on occasion. Big grass front yard that little kids can play in while mom and dad are eating and talking. Not cheap but the food is good and the service is attentive. If it is nice weather sit outside on the patio. Want to go back!

If I can give The Big Ketch 10 stars I would. I came last week and ordered the Blackened Grouper sandwich and hush puppies. The hush puppies were fried to perfection and soft in the middle. The grouper was flaky and melts in your mouth. The food was so good I came again this week. The service from Sarah and Desirae(Des) was amazing. The manager, Alex also ensured that my friend and I had an enjoyable experience. If you are looking for fresh food in the Atlanta area then this is the perfect place to be.

I'm not a fan of this restaurant but my husband loves it. He told me about something new on the menu..the cous cous quinoa salad topped with a protein. I chose the Asian flavor with grilled shrimp for my protein topping. It was delicious. My daughter ordered the Mediteranean flavor with grilled chicken as the protein topping. Both were delicious. We were a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed their meal. Fish bites were delicious. A large bowl of boiled peanuts is brought to the table to munch on while you sip your wine. They've remodeled the restaurant since I was last there and it's much nicer. Service was great. Live music in the outdoor patio on Sunday night.

In a casual, yet refreshing atmosphere, try their lobster bisque or their chowder. Everything seems so fresh! I had a dozen oysters and they were excellent. And service is excellent. Ryan was our server several times and he could not have been better. Remembered us even though it had been a few months since our prior visit. An unassuming place worth going for really really good seafood.

We watched them work on this place forever to get it opened and really wanted to like it. The service is weird, we asked for a table where we could watch the game that was on, they said sure and literally seated us under a TV with no views of ay others, she said this should be great for seeing the game. If I had eyes on top of my head it certainly would have been, as it was we could not watch the game and the place was empty. The lobster rolls are average at best, the menu is just kind of odd, I would like to say creative, but I am sticking with odd.

We had a pre-paid coupon for a fixed price dinner at the Big Ketch. Calling ahead, we were told we could ask for the dinner menu in mid-afternoon to take advantage of the coupon. We had the scallops and the shrimp & grits. Both were excellent. The lobster bisque appetizer was very tasty, as was the key lime pie desert. Our server was attentive and accommodating.. I highly recommend it.

My catfish was delectable! The collard greens were not the usual fare. Different and mouthwatering. Hush puppies were crispy and tasty. They also had grilled broccoli which I'd never had and would definitely order again. Our server Casey was great, lovely smile and voice and knowledgeable about menu

If you are looking for seafood, this is the place. It has a nice menu with just about any seafood you could want. My wife and I got the lobster roll with melted butter on a typical toasted bun. Delicious! The table space inside is not large but in good weather, their outside tables double their capacity. We were visiting a friend in Atlanta and this is one of her favorites. She said she has never been disappointed. Try it out.

It was Valentine weekend and were wanting some seafood. Did a quick search on Google for best Grouper sandwich in Atlanta and The Big Ketch popped up. I checked out their menu and we headed up there for an early dinner. We were impressed by the exterior and began to feel that beach vibe we were wanting. We were seated and our waitress Casey quickly brought us our drinks. Their were so many things to choose from on the menu that it took some tine to make a decision. Casey offered alot of advice in helping us choose our appetizers and entrees. We started with beach balls which were like hushpuppies stuffed with shrimp green onion. We also had the crab n shrimp dip with deep fried pita chips. These were amazing and left you wanting more once finished. My wife had the fried grouper sandwich with red potato salad. She said it was fresh and lightly breaded. It has won best grouper sandwich in Buckhead for several years and she said she now knows why. I had the sweet n spicy shrimp po boy with cheese grits. The bread was soft and the sweet chilli thai sauce along with asian slaw was a wonderful combination. The grits were wonderful too. I cannot wait to go back and try something else on their menu, maybe I will see you there.

This place was awesome... I had the buck head Betty cocktail, which was unique and delish, hush puppies, raw oysters (yum!), scallops with lemon sauce, broccoli and grits (scallops were cooked perfectly) and creme brûlée cheesecake (omg!). Great service, cool atmosphere, easy parking... 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My husband and I went last nigh based upon reviews and its proximity to the Cirque du Soleil show we went to. Also, the menu options sounded interesting so, we tried a few. We had the shrimp in chili sauce appetizer that was just ok. The slaw it is served on is just plain, shredded cabbage without any dressing. The mussels we also just ok but, really tiny. Before we could even finish the appetizers, the food came out. The lobster bisque (big reason I wanted to go!) tasted like weak tomato soup and was inedible (sent it back). I had the hot buttered crab and shrimp roll. The shrimp were those tiny cocktail shrimp and the crab was shredded. It left a terrible taste in my mouth and I only ate 1/4 of it. My husband had the coconut salmon and shrimp. The salmon was a small, thin, overcooked square and the shrimp were VERY overcooked. The dressing on the salad was terrible and he didn't eat it. (This is a man that NEVER leaves food on the table. The decor was nice but, I'd never go back.

I haven’t even made it past appetizers and I’m happy! Service great! Can’t wait for the main course !

The Ahi Tuna entree is the size one would expect for an appetizer.. and the appetizer-don't waste your time..miniscule. My wife ordered a bowl of bisque soup, but was brought a cup and had it fixed-but we got charged for both a cup and a bowl on the bill...so Check your Bill for accuracy. Don't get the table opposite the front door, as it vibrates constantly; something to do with their heat system. The food is fresh, never frozen, but again the portions are small.

Dinner at Big Ketch was nice casual dining. It was busy the night we went but we had quick seating. The food was served quickly and hit after placing our order. The atmosphere was nice but loud. The crab cakes, the shrimp, the corn and the Brussels sprouts were delicious.

Indifferent service. Cold calamari with some sticky sauce. Small portions of fish. Not hundred percent clean. Overcooked hush puppies. Entree tepid. I mean, why? $90 for full up dinner for two. It's okay, but do NOT recommend. It's a mall food court experience

We've eaten here about six times but will not be going back after our most recent experience. We saw the chef/cook come out of the kitchen with an extremely dirty white chef shirt that had have be days or weeks of food on it. In fact the entire front was covered in food stains, etc. It was lunchtime so there is no way it was from just a few hours in the kitchen. while on other occasions the portions were fine, during our most recent visit my husband was served a tiny portion of fish. When he mentioned this to our server, she fully agreed and took it back to the kitchen.

We dined here tonight and will certainly be back. Todd, our server did a fine job and courses move swiftly but not rushed. One of the appetizers listed on the "special board" was 86ed but was not made clear until after we ordered. The tuna poke appetizer worth it all. Lobster roll was well done and the collards were prepared to perfection. Dessert you might want to skip. The key lime, which is Kennys is always great, no matter where you order. Lava cake disgusting, but the only disappointment. The lemon cake ok but stick with the apps and main course. We will return. No management visitation.

This place is consistent, fun, and a good value. They have an interesting menu, really pleasant servers, and great atmosphere.

This was some really good food for the price. It has different selections of fish and a variety plate that you can choose to sample. I enjoyed this quaint restaurant and the Mahi mahi sandwich was delicious. I will return when I visit Atlanta again. Friendly staff too! Happy hour is available from 4-6 pm for 1/2 price oysters. MMMM They also offer and card you use. Accumulate 5 punches and receive on free lunch. How cool is that! Free food...

Just returned home from a late lunch at The Big Ketch in Buckhead (Atlanta) . The food was good but the reason for the excellent rating is for their bartender, Grace. Talk about lighting up a room with a smile!!!!! Although I'm from Atlanta I've lived in London for the past 20 years. The service personnel in the UK could learn a lesson from Grace on what the service industry is all about. She made our visit.

fun environment, fresh seafood and great service. Free parking, great drinks and happy hour oysters. Menu is absolutely amazing. I would go once a week if my BF would let me!!

3 of us ate here July 1,2013. I had the blackened NC catfish. It was outstanding! Wife had Lobster roll and said it was great!! Can't wait to return.

We came because we had a coupon. We ordered two appetizers for our table for four. The lobster spring roll was a great opening act. The coconut shrimp was also good, but the surprise was the slaw it was sitting on. It was so good, my husband changed the side on his main meal. The fish of the day was halibut, and two at our table ordered this blackened (as the waiter recommended). It was terrific, and again there were the sides sneaking into the limelight. I had the cioppino, one of the night's specials. The shrimp, scallops, and fish sat in a marinara sauce on a bed of (surprise) grits. It was not a traditional cioppino, but it was amazing. My husband had the grouper, which was also good. We came because we had a coupon, but will not hesitate to come again. Our waiter, Larry, was helpful and attentive. The live music was enjoyable. The food was delicious and not over-priced for seafood. We found a winner.

I tried the Super Grouper Sandwich with jicama slaw and lobster bisque was very pleased. Never had grouper before but it was good. It was my friend’s birthday and they provided her to a pineapple upside down cake (her choice).

My expectations were fulfilled!! My waitress was AMAZING!!! The seafood dip and homemade chips were scrumptious!! My shrimp and grits were cooked to perfection! No lumps or too salty!! The right consistency!!! The staff displayed excellent customer service and the atmosphere was laid back and welcoming!!! I will be back!!!

So loud and noisy, you could not hear any conversation at the table. Couldn't hear the music, the waiter, any conversation was lost in the noise/din.or anything else...This restaurant gave us all a headache from the 2 1/2 hours of overly loud din. The service, what little there was, was also not good. We asked three times for a waiter to take our order over a 35 minute period. The 4 dozen oysters were bland small and not that fresh. The lobster bisque was awful, either tasting flat with a bad spicey after taste or some weird spice added to it, out of left field....,I couldn't eat it, left it over. My lobster roll was good not great and I added their smashed/mash potato's to give me some balance in the meal. summary: bad food, lousy service, noisiest place I've ever eaten in!

This is a small place with big flavors regardless of what is ordered. Get the lobster roll.......tender and amazing! Salmon cooked perfect. Tuna app! Forgetaboutit! Went for lunch but also a very busy nightspot late into the night.

I don’t have to tell you how good are the food as you can easily tell from my photos, the service is super, reasonable price and nice interior, every thing were just perfect, specially the Friday 50% discount on the oyster😃

I've been here 4 times always hoping it would be better. The food is good but portions are on the smaller side. Three times I was there service was poor to fair. They tend to hire younger staff who might not have much experience or have been trained as to what is good service.

Found out about this restaurant from a car rental agent and it was worth the trip. Best hush puppies ever! I had a po boy lobster sandwich that was delicious.

My wife and I dined here as a suggestion from the hotel. Scallops and baked grouper were our main dishes. Food was well prepared and we were sort of a surprised to find reasonable priced seafood cooked in Atlanta that was not fired or dried out. Wine list was average and overall the bill was reasonable. I would dine here again if in the area

Tried the Big Ketch, finally, and was pleasantly surprised! The lobster roll was great, NO Mayonnaise!! Loved it. Had fish on two occasions and were really good. My new go to seafood place. Reasonably price too.

For fresh seafood from the Georgia coast, this place is spot on! Great service, perfectly cooked salmon and ahi tuna—actually anything I’ve tried on the menu (and I’ve been there probably 20 times) has been outstanding. Oh, and great Bloody Mary’s too!

The Big Ketch offers wonderful seafood and live music. We were there for lunch. We had seared Ahi Tuna, Lobster egg rolls, Jumbo Lump Crabcake and Crab and Shrimpcake. Oh, and DO NOT MISS the Caribbean Lobster bisque! Divine!

My husband and I went on a date night and we enjoyed the music but it felt very rushed. The food was very skimpy and I don't think we will be back for the money. I love the lobster roll though.

A very nice addition to Roswell. Fine ,fresh seafood. Great service. And a better than average menu. The chef has alot of "ketching up" to do if they plan on making it through next season. Its a very welcome change. The bar area is huge, with multiple tvs and large booths. Our server was Ashley..SHE ROCKS! :)

Loved this place. A big menu with wonderful, reasonably priced seafood, and in Buckhead, a parking lot! The Calamari with Asian slaw was great, as were the complimentary boiled peanuts. We had super service from Eric, our waiter. We will return again.

Lunch portions might be smaller and a buck or two cheaper for many people. My grits were VERY lumpy, I guess they had sat in the pot a while, and the collards needed another few hours being cooked, very tough. Catfish was OK. They have an outdoor seating area. Service was a bit slow I thought.

Great service. Bar keeps were very receptive and very friendly. Red snapper special was really really good and enough for 2 Live music everyday on outside porch Easy to get to with ample parking Will be back for sure

After dining at this Buckhead favorite I waited for full digestion to be fair in my review. On the positive there was adequate free parking. Also, positive our open table reservation was honored on or about the time set. Another positive was the perky attitude and quick service we received. The negatives start with the noise which was sufficient in the dining room to make conversation in normal tones difficult. Next came a bourbon on the rocks that when delivered at a hefty price looked like a weak water and tea over ice not a real end of the week drink. House wine was good and fairly priced. Our food choices were both very well prepared and the Charleston curry bowl was especially good. My grilled salmon was done to order and came with a smoky tangy dipping sauce and some very good grilled Brussels sprouts. However I also chose as a side the grilled green beans which ranged from limp to flavorless to rubbery. Pre dinner we ordered the grilled oysters which came with a Parmesan cheese topping and some spices. One oyster was over cooked the others thin and flavorless. By comparison we just had a similar dish in New Orleans that was delicious. On the whole this is pricey for what it is and the quality is variable even within a dish.

Let me start out by saying I am a big seafood addict, so I was thrilled to go to the Big Ketch to see how good they are. My fiance and I went to the Big Ketch on a Wednesday night with a TravelZoo voucher ($35 for $65 worth of food, something like that). I don't think it would have been worth it without the coupon, to be honest. The ahi tuna appetizer was one of the best I've ever had - and I've eaten a lot of ahi tuna! My grilled shrimp and scallops entree would have been $18 without the coupon. The entree consisted of the following, in its entirety: four medium-sized grilled shrimp, five grilled scallops, and my two sides (lobster bisque, which was amazing but added $1.50; and Parmesan corn on the cob, which was pretty good). It was tasty but not worth $18 - more like $15 at most. One big pet peeve - when we pulled up to the parking lot, some guy was standing outside with a light-wand next to a sign that said "Parking $5"! Are they crazy? We didn't end up paying the $5 because we drove past the entrance by accident, and when we came back the guy had disappeared so we slipped into a parking spot unnoticed, but still! I think it is absolutely ridiculous, in a large parking lot where the businesses are just restaurants and there are no events going on, to charge $5 for SELF PARKING. Absolutely ridiculous. Enough of my parking soapbox... Overall very tasty food, but the portions are a bit too small. If you want a good, memorable seafood experience, try "Coast" just a block or two away. Similar prices but better food, nicer atmosphere, plus $5 dozen oysters on the half shell Wednesday nights!

It was a lazy Monday afternoon and Melanie were bouncing around Buckhead together. I had done some scouting around looking for some restaurants in the area and decided on The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill. A pescatarian at heart, I could easily live off of seafood and fish if given sufficient quantities. Not many people were in the restaurant when we arrived so we were seated right away and had drinks in no time. Our server was able to answer any questions that we brought forth and was actually quite knowledgeable about, not only the menu, but also the varieties of fish offered. We decided to get started with the Chips and Hummus. I’m not normally a big hummus fan, but this was really quite good. The chips that accompany them were very tasty by themselves and seasoned to my liking. Melanie, remaining vegetarian, ordered the Chef Salad with a fruit cup. She added carrots on and chose the Ranch dressing. I was crazy for the catfish and opted for it blackened. I told the server to tell them “they cannot hurt me” referring to the blackening seasoning. I always like to see just how far they go when you mention this. I always believe that seasonings should compliment the food, not overwhelm it – but I do like my food to have some kick to it. The Big Ketch is a great casual restaurant and I imagine that with its limited inside seating area, the patio seating must be a lot of fun when its not blazing hot. We both liked the vibe we got in the restaurant and the staff was very warm and welcoming. When our meals arrived, I couldn’t wait to grab my camera and take a picture. I though it just looked fantastic. The chose the Lobster Bisque and Grilled Broccoli to accompany the dish and both were truly fantastic. Lobster Bisque varies greatly and this was among the best I can ever recall. The Grilled Broccoli was done perfectly. It soft and tender with plenty of grill flavor to keep you coming back for more. The catfish was so juicy and flaky it was incredible. The seasoned was nicely done and didn’t overpower the flavor of the fish. Blackening seasoning is something to be careful with and the preparation on this meal was skillful. Melanie enjoyed her salad and thought the eggs and carrots really set it off. She’s a big cucumber fan and they were very generous in this area, which scored a lot of points with her. The dressing makes or breaks a salad and she really liked the ranch dressing and would recommend it if you’re choosing a salad here. The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill is located right near the heart of Buckhead and makes a great location to meet with friends in the evening or even have a business lunch during the day. The food is excellent and you’ll be pampered by the service. Guten appetit!

Stopped in to try some if their seafood. Has the Caribbean Lobster Bisque, Poke chips, and lobster egg rolls..all very tasty

My recent visit was a little well..... it was dinner, but my Shrimp and Grits was served in what resembled a cereal bowl. Gave me more of a breakfast feeling than dinner. The taste was good, but could have used a little.....something (not sure what) else. Hush puppies had a decent taste although a bit burned. Atmosphere was great...service was wonderful and attentive. I will return and try another menu item.

If you are here to socialize- you are in luck! Service staff very friendly and patient as our group of 3 chatted quite awhile before figuring out what to order. They were out of oysters - the main reason we chose this place. Then they were out of Lobster. So making a decision of what to eat became much more difficult. If you are interested in GREAT food, you'll need to spend more elsewhere. But for a nice, relaxed atmosphere, great drinks, OK food, an unusual selection/menu and terrific service staff, then this is a fantastic place!

The service here was great and the food was OK. We were seating outside on the patio near the live music. While it was a little loud, the atmosphere was nice. A member of our party had their heart set on the lobster roll, but that was the one dish they were out of. She settled for shrimp and grits while Others had shrimp & scallops, fish & chips and grouper. All were somewhat satisfied (shrimp & scallops, fish & chips) while the others felt their dishes lacked flavor. Although the food was just "ok", we had a great time with a wonderful server, live music and nice atmosphere.

I love The Big Ketch! What a beautiful patio they have with live music I think every single night. Really makes you feel like you are in a beach town vs sitting right on Roswell Rd in the heart of Buckhead. I just love, love, love it here. This was my 3rd time visiting the restaurant but I will be going back soon again for sure. The menu has lots of options and things I want to try! This time around I had the following: Shrimp Cocktail-I probably won't order them again. Nothing special but not bad. Lobster Roll-so delicious! Plus you can get a side salad with their house dressing as your side and it is delicious as well! Coconut Shrimp & Fish meal-it wasn't mine but I did taste it and it was yummy too. Not sure I would order it all fried up like that bc they have so many fresh options but it was for sure tasty. Can't wait to go back...wish I was eating fresh fish there tonight! Atmosphere is unbeatable in my opinion. Yum.

Upset with staff Friday evening. We came in at 10 after braves game to eat dinner on patio and was pushed put the door, saying they were closing. They had more people this time in restaurant than the last. We stayed nearby again, due to the fact we stubbled across this restaurant about 6 weeks ago, and was greeted at 1040 on a Saturday night. Said they where more than welcome to seat us. So we were expecting the same. Left @ 40% tip that evening, it was so great. It was a loss for everyone. I think management made a mistake last night.

The sides were awesome! The crab cakes was delicious....creamy grits and the collard greens. The drinks....not very strong for the price.

Stopped in for dinner not expecting much and was pleased with the quality, taste, and service. Grilled grouper, blackened shrimp, and mahi mahi were all cooked to perfection (although for the price, the grouper was a small piece of fish). The quinoa salad was amazing - big portion, seasoned well, so tasty. Chocolate lava cake was a great finish to a tasty dinner. Bonus, our server was awesome. Looking forward to going back on my next visit to ATL.

Went here because of recommendation. It was a real let down. Food is okay, service was terrible, atmosphere was good, its pricey, and well its in Buckhead. I really expected more.

We came to Atlanta for Memorial Day weekend as a family planning to try different restaurants. We heard about the big Ketch and decided to try it. We had the tuna poke, lobster roll, fried oysters and lobster bisque. All tasted very flavorful and more than expected. The service was great as well, I will return someday.

I recently met a couple of colleagues for a business lunch. Since our central meeting place was in Buckhead we decided to meet at The Big Ketch. It was a lovely fall day so we sat outside under a bright, sunny sky and large umbrella. Our waiter was attentive and polite and kept our iced tea glasses full while we talked business and tried to determine what to order. I ordered the fresh grouper tacos with a side Caesar salad. My colleagues ordered shrimp and grits and the shrimp tacos. Judging by the three clean plates I would say we all enjoyed the lunch offerings. The portions were a little small for the large price but I suppose that is the price you pay for a Buckhead location (it is on Roswell Road, just north of the Roswell/Peachtree Road split). Parking is easy and free and judging by the lunch crowd, this is a popular place. If you want seafood, might want to try this place. It's not Florida, but it's not bad.

The food was quite good- especially the lobster roll and veggies. Great service and good ambiance. Very good overall- excellent

It's hard enough to find a delicious lobster roll outside of Maine, let alone a superb one done in your choice of 2 ways. The big Ketch offers their scrumptious lobster roll as the traditional chilled version in a light mayo dressing with crunchy celery, ar as a hot buttered version that is almost too good to eat. They also have a stellar smoked fish spread that is comparable to Ted Peters restaurant in St. Pete's Beach Florida. You simply cannot go wrong here…the fish cannot get any fresher, and the service is second to none.

We were looking for a place with outdoor seating. They have some covered seating and some with umbrellas. We enjoy the sun so we sat out under the umbrella. We had the calamari, crab dip, shrimp tacos, and catch of the day fish sandwich. Our only complaint was the fish sandwich was prepared with the tartar sauce on it instead of on the side as requested. They did prepare it again.

note to management. when the oysters aren't fresh, throw them out. It makes you wary of everything else. Shrimp and scallops very good, though. waitress very friendly and attentive.

I liked that they inside and outside dinning. Outside had a one man band playing on a Sunday evening. Very busy place with moderately priced menu but you have to understand location for this moderate pricing. I had Grilled Mahi-Mahi with jerk seasoning. It was grill perfectly. The side of red potato salad was frozen. I was very good after it thawed out. Beer and wine selection was decent. I will say I like the place but I would suggest large parties understand a long wait. Otherwise find another spot. I ate at the bar because I was by myself. I could hear the music from the outside band, TV's were in front of me and I was in no rush. They were extremely understaffed. The person behind the bar was not happy about anything but went about there serving duties as best they could.

Had a mouthwatering lunch sitting outside enjoying the cool weather. Fast service. Absolutely delicious mahi mahi fish sandwich and special horseradish sauce. Always delivers whenever we go. Worth the drive to Atlanta.

Visited this restaurant as it was near my hotel when I was visiting Atlanta. On a Tuesday, there was no wait for a table. The table itself was mounted to the wall and something on the other side (kitchen area) caused it to gently vibrate the entire time we were there. A guitarist on the patio was butchering old r&b songs. And the service was a bit lacking. The waiter offered boiled peanuts but they never showed up. However the food appeared quickly and was delicious. I had eaten a heavy lunch so had two appetizers: the peppered ahi and cucumber, tomato feta salad. Both had great texture and flavor. The perfectly rare tuna was lovely, but I think the dressing on the salad made that plate even better. I'd eat there again, since the food outweighed the service.

That's how I felt. I stopped in after an event at the Atlanta History Center - craving some seafood, I veered into the parking lot and before long I could have sworn I was in a beach bar on the coast. Great casual vibe, and the mussels I ordered were absolutely perfect. Lots of tables filled, some families, some date-couples, some groups of friends, all enjoying the same seacoast vibe that had me in7th heaven. Can't wait to go back.

My daughter and her fiancée suggested the Big Ketch for dinner. She called and had her name put on a wait list since they don't take reservations. When we arrived we only waited 10 minutes for a table. We started with the shrimp and crab dip which was very good and served with Pita chips. I ordered the shrimp and scallops with lobster bisque and caesar salad as my sides. The scallops were nice size and very succulent. The shrimp were equally as good. The lobster bisque was the best I have had, anywhere. We ordered a side of hush puppies which were outstanding. My daughter ordered a to die for hot lobster roll. It was incredible with lots of chunks of lobster and melted butter on the side for dipping. I am going to order it the next time. Her fiancée ordered and loved a perfectly seared Ahi tuna with a side of lobster bisque. It was near the top of any seafood restaurant I have eaten in Atlanta. The dress code is casual, prices are moderate and service is spot on. If you haven't been there, you need to go.

This is a Seafood Lovers Gem of a Restaurant— We have lived in Florida for most of our lives— and have eaten at some of the best and finest restaurants in the state. TBK atmosphere and decor is extremely causal, but their seafood is out of this world delicious—- with a southern flair. The hush puppies ( both the crab— crush puppies and regular pups) are melt in your mouth, savory — with special dipping sauce. The fried shrimp were plump and full of flavor—- but the Lobster Roll stole the show. All the sides, to include the grilled corn — with a kick and teriyaki Brussels sprouts were exceptional. The only “meh” item was the crab/lobster bisque. Oh— I almost forgot— their first were perfect, and they have a full bar!!!We will keep coming back.

The Big Ketch reminds me of places I visit off the beach while listening to music like Margariitaville etc etc. I had the fish and chips, the jerk chicken sandwich and a couple of drinks. Service was great and personal. The food was delicious. The energy and vibe that day was upbeat, its a perfect storm for having a great time.

We went with a coupon and had a fine time. The atmosphere, food, entertainment, and service were tops! We had crab dip with homemade pita chips as appetizer. It was deliciously spicy and one serving served both of us generously. Our entrees were crab cakes and grilled shrimp and scallops with spicy romalaude sauce. Again, large portions and tasty spicy. We chose grits, grilled broccoli, lobster bisque, and collard greens. Yum, yum and even the greens were quite spicy! We sat on the enclosed porch with big overhead heaters, where there was an entertainer who was very personalable and talented. Even though I was sad that they were out of bread pudding with whiskey caramel sauce, but the key lime pie was delectable. We divided all our food so that we could taste it all, and were stuffed when we left. Ashley served us very well.

Very cool place. Relaxing. We went mid afternoon and it was quiet. Food was good. Service was good. Decor is nice. We will be back

My oldest girl took me to lunch while I was visiting Atlanta and raved about this particular restaurant. I was not impressed with the exterior look and feel of the place but decided to give it a try, especially since she offered to buy me lunch. The food was pretty good. She initially wanted boiled peanuts however the day we were there it was not offered on the menu. Instead we both had a cup of seafood chowder, I got the fish & chips and she had a shrimp salad. The fish was fresh and beer battered which was surprisingly tasty seeing that we were in Georgia. I do think that the dinner menu would be good and plan on going to dinner there on one of my next trips.

A colleague and I ate here last week while in ATL on business. Although it was a rainy night, the deck was protected by plastic and it was a very pleasant environment, along with a guitar player right behind us. The calamari fries were fresh and I had the special, blackened swordfish, which was nicely prepared. Our server was pleasant and attentive. It's in Buckhead but just a little off the beaten path, which is nice. Parking was free and plentiful, and I'll definitely go back.

Went for lunch and they served a buffet which was tasty not wonderful but I guess with Mothers Day it’s hard to cater for everyone. Not much choice of wines or champagne. Everyone had plenty to eat and the kale salad and Brussels sprouts were delicious.

Husband and I visiting our son in Atlanta. Buckhead is one of his favorite places to eat. We love seafood. I enjoyed the blackened shrimp skewers while the guys had the grouper. We loved it all. The hush puppies were the best.. With a larger serving as one of our sides. Sat on the outdoor patio and enjoyed the live music. We will return!
Excellent seafood dinner!
When in the buckhead area- try this place for lunch or dinner! So good! Very fresh, lots of choices, and good prices. We sat inside, but the deck also looked like a good option. they have a small bar area too. Food we tried included shrimp po' boy, fish and cole slaw, tropical salad, hush puppies, and shrimp bisque. All was great! Ate at Legal Seafood earlier in the week but this was way better, more interesting, and about 1/2 the price. For the price, the quality of food at this place is really impressive. Highly recommend this place!!!
