It looks like an average sports bar but the food was excellent. We had a selection of tacos. The grilled fish was the best! Great margaritas to boot.

Stopped here from drinks on a Tuesday evening .... place was pretty buzzing unlike a number of other bars close by. Wife had a hankering for a Margarita and someone recommended this bar. Literally metres from our hotel .... attentive staff reasonable prices and the offer of bottomless margaritas for $17 - limited to 2 hours! We sat outside at the window bar, enjoyed the warmth and the various TV’s showing sport..... certainly didn’t last 2 hours though!! Friendly place, worth a stopover.

We were not in the mood for a big meal so we ordered out Blood Orange Margaritas and flautas and al pastor tacos. Service was friendly, the food was delicious (the al pastor tacos were the best outside of Mexico City i've had) We had a great time people watching and the other customers were friendly and as visitors to the city, it made us feel right at home.

Came here our first night and it hit the spot. Large menu with many choices, we got some sort of queso flatbread that was on the happy hour menu and shared the fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. Both were very good. Server was friendly and efficient, and it was lovely sitting outside. Would recommend.

Great outside bar. The whole bar is nice and comfortable but the outside bar, not being in the 5th ave., is highly recommended. Good beer and beer combinations and tasty and well prepared tacos. The macha taco with angus beef is great although the size of the dishes is medium-small.

We ate here after a very long drive from Oakland. We were hungry and tired and looking forward to a good dinner. The margaritas and the food were all excellent. Our only complaint was the noise level. Is it really necessary to have TV'S blaring during dinner? Service was also good.

If you're headed to Petco Park (or even if you aren't), The Blind Burro is a great spot for dinner and drinks. Really outstanding food, good service and good people watching all mean a good spot!

Stopped in before attending an event at Petco Park. Was seated promptly, they were very busy. No happy hour on Padres home games 😥 our server Tiffany was excellent, kept our beverages full, took our order promptly. The food choices were quite varied, our selections were all quite good. We dined outside, the heaters made our stay quite comfortable!

The grilled fish tacos were perfection. The street corn was a little spicy for me but with a little guacamole, it was great. They forgot to bring out our chips and guacamole before the entree but then did not charge us for them. Great service otherwise. Red Sangria was delicious. Not too sweet.

We moved here 3 months ago. We found this place and we've returned many times. We have never had anything on the menu that wasn't great! The atmosphere is nice and the staff is the best. Very friendly!!

On our visit to San Diego we had dinner here twice. Wonderful each time. Fish taco are off the chart! Margarita where delicious our had Jalapeños in it . Server were great.

Good fish tacos and ceviche. Ok margaritas- kind of small for the price. Slow but friendly service. Nice outdoor seating. Try to go during happy hour.

We visited The Blind Burro looking for some good tacos and we weren't disappointed. Great flavours and a good environment to eat and drink. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. The Blind Burro is definitely worth a visit

We had half an hour to grab a bite to eat before a Padres game-sat outside and ate at the bar. The street corn that accompanied our tacos had a nice kick--I did not like that my chicken had dark meat. My husband ordered 2 beers that was less than one inside Petco Park. We were a little late for the game but would come back again when we have more time.

Amazing service! Food is great! Felt safe and had a great time. The Burro team really came back strong post pandemic. Can wait to be back.

Had been looking for fish tacos in San Diego, and this one was not far from my hotel. Had the ahi tuna tacos with kale slaw. Very tasty, but for someone who prefers street tacos, this was more trendy than I would have liked. Would go again.

Every time I visit San Diego, sangria at the Blind Burro is on my must-do list. Great people watching. Down the street from the ballpark, so parking isn't the easiest, but well worth it.

A healthy serving of flavorful ceviche wirh a pile of homeade chips and salsa. Well worth 14 bucks. Friendly staff and great place to have a drink.

We walked here from the Gaslamp Marriott. Wheelchair friendly. We ordered just before 6pm and got happy hour prices on some items. We had the fish tacos and chicken tacos. We also had pablamo rice and street corn. The street corn was off the cob - not what I expected - but very tasty. Of course there was a good selection of beers - a San Diego staple. A very family friendly place, several families with children were dining there.

I was eager to try the Blind Burro after visiting so many other Gaslamp restaurants and passing by this one. It's an excellent location and features mostly inside seating with some bar seating along the sidewalk. The service was quick and good especially for a busy lunch crowd. The food was fairly average for a Mexican restaurant. It was good and fresh, but did not entice me to come back and try other dishes. The tacos were a bit bland, but the chips and salsa were fresh. Good guacamole, as well.

We have been here a couple times. Their "thing" is street tacos on a plate - they are a bit pricey compared to Ensenada, but quite good. They also have a "twist" to the quesadilla- apply a flat bread concept to it. Either way, quite yummy. We had the seafood enchiladas (with a $22 price tag..... ouch) but it was delicious and you can actually split the meal if you start your dinner with an appetizer. If you are downtown for a convention and from somewhere that doesn't have good Mexican food, I would give the Blind Burro a try. Good atmosphere and good service. Only expectation I experienced was the hostess wasn't real friendly for some reason - the rest of the staff was very nice. GOOD MEXICAN FOOD WITH A TASTY FLAIR.

The food was good, and I enjoyed the margaritas. No complaints except for the music. I tend to go out to eat with people in order to talk to those people, so when the music is so loud, I can't hear those people, it's a bit annoying. They could turn the volume down just one notch, and it would be perfect.

We had eaten at this Gaslamp District restaurant several times over the years but this will be our final visit. Usually their specialties are the entrees to order. It was a rainy night so the restaurant had many open tables. Our server was attentive. My husband’s chicken tinga enchiladas were served cold. No matter how good they potentially could have been, chicken enchiladas do not taste good cold. The description of my burro-Ito Barbacoa sounded loaded with delicious ingredients but in reality it was very dry and lacking in flavor. There are so many great restaurants in this area but the Blind Burro is not one of them.

I stopped in to the Blind Burro with my buddy after we left the Padres game. We went in to have a beer and decided to order the nachos. They are amazing. If you are looking for a good appetizer and some nice atmosphere it is definitely worth stopping in for a beer and good tasting food.

Looking for a quick bite for a late lunch with the family. We have two small kids and needed a quick meal before nap time. The food was absolutely stellar. Everything we had was phenomenal. Went back for takeout a second day while in town. One of our new favs!

We came here for dinner on our first night. It was very very loud because they have a large bar there too. The food came out super quick & we didn’t enjoy the meals as they were covered in a very strong overpowering sauce which wasn’t clear on the menu. To be fair they didn’t charge us for one meal as I just couldn’t eat it. Very busy took ages to get the bill. If you want dinner with conversation perhaps this might be a bit too loud.

I had dinner by myself recently and found the place to be a nice venue, good vibes and an easy meal. Chicken tinga enchiladas and chips and salsa. For me a little too much cheese on the enchiladas but the flavour was still pretty good. The barman was great and friendly, helpful with a beer choice and the atmosphere was pretty good. It gets busy on game nights and also weekends so get there early where you can and enjoy the night.

I visited with my boss and a coworker while in town for a conference. I was happy that there were plenty of tvs showing the NBA playoffs. I thought the food was great! The menu seemed creative to me, which is a nice departure from standard Mexican restaurant fare. I really enjoyed the vegetarian tacos and the chips and salsa.

Delicious Mexican food. amazing enchiladas. Excellent central location in the gas lamp quarter. Great margaritas. Good chips and salsa. Friendly bartenders.

Went into the Blind Burro after a baseball game at Petco Park. Close to the stadium and was very busy. Sat at the bar and had an order of the bacon wrapped jalapeños. They were awesome. Great selection of beer on tap. I tried a couple different local IPAs and my better half enjoyed a glass of wine. The bartenders were great and we both agreed to visit again on our next trip down there. We will try the dinner menu next time!

My husband and I came here with our infant son. It was a really good restaurant for us because if offered several seating options to sit with our son. The service was really excellent here. Our server was friendly and attentive. Now about the food: it was delicious! Like sooo good. We got the guacamole and plantain chips to start and it was really tasty. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my husband the fancy long quesadilla dish and we both enjoyed our food very much. Also, we ordered mixed drinks and both enjoyed those too.

Had the seafood enchiladas. Three large and very good enchiladas with a varied mix of shrimp, scallops, and fish. The candied jalapeno peppers sprinkled liberally on top were a new and excellent experience for me.

Had the power bowl with chicken. Delicious!!! My daughter had the nachos... SO good. Drinks awesome! Staff super nice and accommodating!

Cool spot near the ballpark and convention center. Delicious grilled shrimp tacos on fresh-made corn tortillas. Caramelized pineapple margaritas and delicious chips. Very kind servers :-)

OK I had the boring but traditional carne asada taco. But Claudia had the superfood bowl and i have to say it was awesome. Not that my carne asada was bad - but to find something in the healthy eats category that was so flavour filled was a great revelation. It is a bit of a younger noise and more beer fuelled crowd than we would normally choose to be in, but it didn't detract from our enjoyment, even if there were some VERY noisy people in there. If you like a noisy sports bar vibe you will love it The menus was certainly a very pleasant surprise

I enjoyed the quesadilla- definitely not a prepackaged tortilla. Loud environment. Likely a fin happy hour place.

My buddy and I dropped in for something to eat on a recent evening, not looking for dinner, just a snack. We split the Shrimp Machete...an oversized quesadilla loaded with shrimp, cheese, salsa. It was really good and was plenty for both of us. It could easily be a meal for one person. All of the food that we saw go by looked really good as well. Service was excellent.

I stopped here while in town for a conference. The bartender recommended the seafood tacos (steak+lobster) and street corn. Overall I was very impressed by the food and the service was great at lunch. My only complaint was that the price was a little high but I think that is a common trend in San Diego.

Excellent drink selection. Good beers and margaritas. And even better food. Excellent guacamole and tacos. Really fun environment with great service.

The restaurant is best characterized as “what you see is what you get”. If you came for a great gourmet experience and something fancy you picked the wrong place. Unpretentious and honest, portions are ample, service was prompt and helpful. I’d recommend the nachos to start and the wings were pretty good too. Hot sauce needs to be ordered separately and I’d recommend that as the meals themselves don’t offer much punch. Tacos are good and the fresh kale slaw works well with the heavy mains. Extensive tequila list- and helpful staff who will find you what you need in the world of tequila.

My wife and I enjoyed a great lunch with stuffed jalapenos and fish tacos. We have eaten here before and always find the food to be creative and spicy !! The margaritas are super and since we like spicy food we recommend adding a muddled jalapeno to the drink. Very tasty !!

Great mexican! Delicious salsa and chips and tacos and burritos plus a nice beer and wine selection!

Overall we weren’t impressed. We ordered Carne Asada tacos, salmon tacos, slaw and nachos. All of which were just ok. The slaw was even kind of weird tasting, I didn’t take more than just a couple of bites. We also ordered guacamole which was pretty good and the churros, which we really really good. Would I come back? Probably for some appetizers and the churros but not for the other items.

I highly recommend the guacamole especial! It's served with plantain chips. I usually sit on the sidewalk barstools. They have overhead heat lamps in the evening.

The tacos were really delicious! The restaurant also has a very nice terrace where it is pleasant to sit.

I had waiters suggestion of the version of the quesadilla, and I could not have eaten 1/2, but ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! Thursday was all you can drink Sangrias...SO GOOD!!!

Stopped by for a quick bite before the Padres game. Had the special guacamole and some churros. Both great, and Emily was an attentive and efficient server.

Finally got out of the country and some friends of mine took me here. The food was delicious, the atmosphere authentic, and the service was top notch. Definitely recommend!

My wife's association invited a hundred and twenty people to an after conference party at the BB and everybody was quite satisfied with the food, drink and general ambiance. They gave us half the restaurant for 2 hours, which was just right for a cocktail party. The passed o'rdeuvres were excellent, particularly the sliders and the taco station operated smoothly. The quoted price of $10,000, was competitive with other venues in the Gaslamp area and, in the end they charged considerably less that that, because not all the invitees attended.

It was like we were annoying our waitress from the beginning. We sat down and she was rude from the start. The restaurant manager was so nice, but we were very put off by the other staff. Food was very good, but so are a lot of places in San Diego. Honestly, wouldn't go there again. Terrible service so it wasn't enjoyable.

Nice bar for lunch. Tasty food but a busy restaurant. You should go early or plan for a late lunch. It is a popular spot.

I was in San Diego for the week for work. We'd wandered a bit in the Gaslamp District exploring the menu selections trying to decide where to eat. Ultimately we opted for The Blind Burro. Excellent Mexican cuisine. Lots of indoor seating, and outdoor, which is pleasant with the outdoor heaters. We had planned to sit indoors, but most of the seating was reserved for a large party, so ended up at the outdoor bar seating area. Service was really fun, and friendly. My husband had the Baja Ceviche and we split an order of the Flautas. Delicious. If you like spice, ask for their in-house hot sauce/salsa, which has a habanero base. Incredibly good, and flavorful. Definitely recommend.

The grilled chicken nachos were so good we went back twice during our visit to San Diego from Michigan, what can I say, they use flour and corn tortillas as well as avocado, tomato, grilled chicken, radish and different types of cheese, it was so good. We also had margaritas and amaretto sour to drink, great bar atmosphere and friendly service.

Many times I am wandering around downtown and I veered away from the Gaslamp area and found this place. With bars back open and being vaccinated I felt comfortable to sit inside at the bar. I've become quite a fan of the Stone Buenaveza draft. I didn't order food but it was a pleasant place and probably very popular when the Padres play. There is a 4% Pandemic Recovery surcharge added to the bill.

The concierge at our hotel recommended The Blind Burro and it did not disappoint. We ordered the special queso. It was so so. I got the cilantro lime shrimp tacos. The levels of flavors in the tacos was incredible. I also has the corn. It has a kick but was delicious- again great flavoring. My husband had the quesadilla. It was huge and they did not skimp on protein. It was worth every cent. If we were to go again we would probably share it and get a different app or smaller entree just so we could try it.

the Blind Burro has great food and is very reasonably priced. and you can't beat the Margaritas. The Blind Burror has a casual, down to earth cool vibe.

Great spot for late afternoon Happy Hour. Dog friendly patio with just enough sun. We enjoyed our margaritas and crispy calamari.

This is more like a bar than a formal restaurant. Not complaining just so folks know Food has great flavor and the bacon wrapped jalapeños are VERY good Enjoyed the tacos and some enchiladas Both were good

Found this place in Google search of Gaslamp bars with Sunday Ticket. Least expensive drafts in the district during football special wit $4 Bud Lights. Ventured into the menu with some bacon-wrapped roasted Jalapenos which were great. I went back for dinner the next night and enjoyed a Mexican grilled chicken dinner salad with - enough to feed two! Have to mention the servers - I had 3 on the 2 visits - very engaging and friendly - not just superficial chat.

Stopped here for lunch. It was close to our hotel. My wife has numerous food issues. She has celiac and can’t eat dairy either which makes it extremely difficult to eat out. A lot of servers don’t understand how sick a person can get if contaminated. Anna our server was WONDERFUL . She knew what was permissible and offered substitutions on some of the gluten free dishes. She also consulted with the chef just to be sure. The food was absolutely delicious. My wife was extremely happy to be able to eat Mexican food with confidence that she wouldn’t have any problems. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We go to the Blind Burro every couple of months- would go more often but live over an hour away. The food is so good! The skirt steak is amazing and the black beans are yummy! We got the chips and guacamole as an appetizer and they were excellent. I couldn’t stop eating… I barely had room for the steak and beans, but sooo glad I did! I have a lot of allergies and have trouble in most restaurants finding something I can eat, and trouble getting the cooks to actually make it the way I order it. But no worries or problems at the Burro! They don’t even blink- they make it exactly the way I order it, and I love them for it. The service is great, and the food is always amazing!

Just loved the Tacos, service and drinks and will definitely be back. I ate their twice in 5 days. Only issue I had was the shrimp/avo listed on special for $19 with one side when the bill came they charged $21. When querying this they said the corn side was extra which wasn’t listed in the promotional terms. Great food and service just don’t lie about the special offer

Had the award winning bulls tongue taco and the lobster taco. Nothing remarkable unfortunately, I´ve had better taco elsewhere. Location was great, and plus for large menu with all kinds of taco.

Stopped by after dinner and had an adult beverage. There was a bachelorette party there and they were having a fun time. Music was playing and the atmosphere was fun. The bar faces the street so you can do some people watching too. Couldn't tell you about the food, sorry.

By far some of the best Mexican food I have ever had! Great atmosphere and good for people watching (if sitting outside). Only a block from Petco Park. Only negative is drinks were overpriced for what you got. But go for the food! You won’t be disappointed.

I ate here twice during my 3-day stay at the Omni downtown while going to Petco Park each day to watch my son-in-law play in the Don Welke On Deck Classic. It is a traditional So Cal Mexican dining experience with a seafood twist. The tacos were excellent, both the chicken and the lime cilantro shrimp. The corn tortillas were perfectly cooked and sturdy enough to hold all the taco stuffing. Try the steak torta if you’re in the mood for a Mexican-style sandwich. Cilantro rice as a side was good, but also order the chips and salsa as an appetizer. They were perfect. It’s located just behind centerfield at Petco Park on the corner of 7th and J. Walk if you’re downtown or near the Gaslamp district. There is reasonable parking available in the nearby parking garages. I love this place.

Really nice mexican food. Great cocktails. We had wonderful lobster tacos and our daughter had a "Machete"...a must try. An a special mention for the very light, refreshing and delicious veggie taco days special. Just go there !

Food was average, not bad, but nothing exciting. Not as good as we remembered from our first visit in 2013.

The Blind Burro in San Diego is a great place to go for quality food and much more. I really like the location and atmosphere that they have available here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need to have the best meal.

This was our first dinner in San Diego after a long day of travel from the East Coast. It was walkable from our hotel and the Gaslamp Quarter was abuzz. We sat outside, as it was crowded and noisy inside. I don't think you will be disappointed with the Blind Burro!

We went here on a recommendation from a local. We had a coupon for a free appetizer, which the waitress said was the flatuas. They were really good, abit on the spicy side but very managable. I had the beef tacos and my husband had the Power bowl, we both really enjoyed our food. Very fresh and tasty. The margaritas were kind of watered down but that could have been because of how much ice was in it. The waitress was helpful and friendly but not very attentive considering it wasn't a busy time. Overall, we had a great meal and did go back again for lunch the next day.

I went to the Blind Burrow on a Saturday morning for brunch. The restaurant was very clean and lively. It had many TVs playing all of the March Madness Basketball games. I was seated very quickly and had a great spot with a view of 3 different TVs. I started with the bacon wrapped jalapeños. They were absolutely amazing , including thick cuts of bacon and large jalapeños. They weren’t as spicy as I thought they were going to be and was very tasty. For the entree, I went with their Cali Burrito. It was very filling and very delicious. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant my next trip to San Diego. Their micheladas were also very good. They have 3 different types and I ordered all 3 of them!

We enjoyed a quick, just before close snack. The tacos and nachos were excellent as were the cocktails. I'd head back again and try more of the menu. Staff were friendly and its a fun spot.

The web site and recommendations gave me the impression that the prices of the tacos would be well worth it. The ambiance is fun, but the food was less than awesome. We ordered guac and it came with chips that were mostly broken pieces that tasted burnt. The tacos were nice, but the burro bowl was the real star. A very hearty and delicious bowl. Service could have been more attentive - we both ran out of drinks and our server did not come back to check on us.

There seems to be a great variety of tacos being served in this restaurant which is more like a sports bar. For a simple Mexican meal, I would recommend this place being somewhat non-traditional.

For the last night of my bachelorette, we decided to get our final fill of some good Mexican food and the Blind Burro did not disappoint. We had a reservation for 10 people on a Saturday at 7 pm. I was really surprised that the place wasn't more packed. Since I wasn't that hungry, my two sisters and I decided to just split some apps: Queso Especial (triple chili cheese sauce, crispy smoked paprika potatoes, house made chorizo, pico de gallo, cilantro, house made corn tortilla chips) - this was SO good. It sounds like there's a lot going on, but everything just goes together. I could totally see myself eating this for brunch and swapping the chips for some tots if I could Asada Wings (asada marinated jumbo wings, buffalo salsa verde, serrano ranch) - you really can't go wrong with wings. I wish the ranch was a bit spicier though Carne Asada Quesadilla - this was HUGE. I was expecting something that was half the size of it. It also came stuffed with perfectly medium rare pieces of steak inside a fresh tortilla. I really wish I could have eaten more of the tortilla but by my second piece, I was so full that I just ended up eating the steak For drinks, I had the Strawberry Smash (Tito's vodka, strawberry, basil, fresh lemon, agave nectar) and the House Margarita with Muddled Jalapeno (Tosco Blanco tequila, triple sec, fresh lime, agave nectar, salted rim). I normally don't like fruit drinks but I really liked the Strawberry Smash because it wasn't overly sweet. The margarita was not bad - the jalapeno gave it a nice kick. My sister doesn't drink alcohol so she asked the waitress if they could make a virgin one and she said no because then it would be just strawberries and sugar. I find that hard to believe. They could have easily replaced the Tito's with seltzer or something. Which brings me to my next point - the missing fifth star here is because our waitress was inattentive and borderline rude. We had to ask for things several times and she would seemingly forget, so we'd ask again nicely. Then, she would say something snappy (with a tone) like, "I know, but I'm working on getting the plates out right now" or "Yeah I will but it's really busy tonight." I understand it gets busy but there's really no need for attitude. Other than that, everything else was great and I'd recommend the Blind Burro - especially for large groups since there's ample space. Just pray you don't get the same waitress we got.

I ate here with my wife and 3 daughters. the margaritas were very good. one daughters had a bowl that was very tasty. the rest of us had tacos. one had lobster, one had chicken and one had beef. they were all very good.

Good variety on menu. Service B plus. Kids menu lacking. Margaritas on the weak side. Food was good. Would try again.

Super friendly staff, amazing chips, and the tacos are to die for. I had the short rib and el pastor tacos, and they were two of the best things I’ve ever eaten. I highly recommend this place, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in San Diego.

In the area for a conference and looking for a place to chill out, sip on a beer, and enjoy some Mexican food. The Blind Burro was on my walk from my hotel to the conference center. Checked out the menu and I was sold. Ice cold Pacifico beer, guacamole with homemade tortilla chips, and tacos al pastor with black beans were my choices. Wish I stepped into this place earlier in my trip, because I could have eaten here several times instead of just once. Such fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Loved it. Service was fast. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable. Prices were reasonable for the area.

Unfortunately, this is another poor recommendation of our restaurant. Everything we ordered was disappointingly bathed in cilantro. If we forget about the overwhelming cilatro in all dishes we ordered, the chips are so hard you can break your teeth on them. I tried to soften them up by leaving them in the salsa and they were still terribly hard. In the end, the meal was so terrible - my husband got sick after that.

We loved the food! The best tacos ever, I had the key lime tacos with side of corn and a skinny margarita. The catch of the day tacos (halibut). We’re excellent and chips with guacamole. The spices and ingredients were customized and added dimension to the savory experience!

Bottomless margaritas on Tuesday nights and the machete are the best thing I tried in San Diego. I went there more than 7 times during my stay. Not to mention service is great.

The cauliflower (vegetarian) tacos were great! I ordered the street corn as my side and it was very tasty. The only let down was no chips and salsa before your meal. A little high priced for 2 tacos, but would recommend it to others.

The staff here is absolutely incredible. Margaritas are delightful. Diners have indoor and outdoor options. They handle large groups. Food was outstanding. SO happy to have found this place - we came back several times. Their staff is so accomodating - we will CERTAINLY be back. THANK YOU!!!

Very cool location. It was super crowded the day i went there because there was a padres game. The service wasnt great and frankly, they were kind of rude.

The fresh fish tacos were the bomb, I highly recommend adding the pickle vegetable salad with dinner!

We ate here on a recommendation and found the food to be pretty basic Mexican fare. The food was not real authentic SoCal/Baja style, in my opinion, but more commercial oriented Mexican which unfortunately can be found in a lot of restaurants around San Diego.

Although there are numerous places around Petco Park for the pre game meal, highly recommend you head over to the Blind Burro for Baja style tacos and cold beers. Tacos are seriously good and no one will ever complain that there isn’t enough filling in these great tacos. If in doubt, go with your server’s recommendation - the short rib was outstanding. Service is also fast and friendly, couldn’t have asked for better.

Chill ambiance - nice bar and food selections. Fresh food and large servings - friendly staff members make this a nice place to hang out with family and friends.

Good drinks. Lots of menu items. Food was good. Service was okay. Indoor and outdoor seating. I don’t know what else to say.

Menu is not very diverse although the variations to the usual Mexican fare is excellent. The cocktail selection is good. The ceviche was superb. The Mexican pizza, Sonoran Queso Crisp, was very tasty. The Macha angus skirt steak was made to perfection, Correct temperature all throughout!! The angus tacos were ok. The Churros is a MUST!!! DELICIOUS!!!! Our server was excellent. She didn’t rush us at all. Very sweet and efficient.

We ate here on our first night in San Diego - our server was so nice and so great with our 2 young children. The chips were delicious and the tacos were incredible - I'm still thinking about them a week later!

Fast efficient service with an friendly staff. From the time we arrived at the door to the meal being served was less than 8 minutes. Our server was friendly and helpful with ordering options. The tacos were excellent and would highly recommend them to anyone, but don’t expect your standard Taco Bell versions because they are the real deal. Hope to give them another try on a return visit.

We had dinner here tonight, it was top notch food and service. The chips and salsa were home made and delicious. My associate had the Barbacoa burrito, come hungry for that one it is as big as your head! I has the seared ahi tacos, they were overstuffed and delicious!

Bar style with toilets which need a good clean - dirty toilets puts me off any restaurant. Had poor nachos and a drink. Nothing great.

This is the place to go for an excellent mexican dinner. My special guacamole was awesome as well as my fish enchiladas. Why only 4 out of five? Well, the place is a little bit too noisy and i think the margarita could be a little bit better and with less ice inside.

The atmosphere was good as we were there before a Padres game. Staff was friendly. The food was ok. My tacos were ok. The chicken within the taco lacked flavor and was a bit dry. The corn on the cob side was extremely good. We want the recipe. Overall very good experience.

Great downtown spot, friendly service, excellent food and drinks. Right around the corner from the Padres stadium too!

Ok... first $10 for a small thing of Guacamole? It was very good but geez. The margaritas were small as well but tasted good, the tacos I had were amazing, one was surf and turf and the other was the Al Pastor which was flavorful and very very good. Nice spot but they have to the get the prices in line especially since the place had 6 people in when we ate their for lunch.

It is surprising to me that San Diego restaurants in the Downtown/Gaslamp district close at 8pm. Especially on nights when the Padres are playing and foot traffic is very high after the game. But it was one of those nights that my family and I wandered into The Blind Burro. It was open AND was not 21+ only! They happily seated us and our waiter was really friendly and patient with us. We order a Machete Quesadilla with Beef, a Nacho with Beef, and beef tacos. When the food arrived the Nachos were way more than one person could eat! The Machete Quesadilla was as long as a Machete! Way more than one person could eat! The Tacos were Great and filling! All in All it was a great Tuesday night!!!

We stopped in at the Blind Burro for drinks and a bite to eat prior to going to a Padres game. Even though it was quite busy, we managed to get a table on their patio. The food was good, the beer was cold and the service was great as well. A great place to go prior to the ball game!

Handmade corn tortillas rolled and filled to perfection. The tortillas were thick and made for a great meal. the tacos were also excellent. Service was outstanding; server took the time to have a conversation with me. This place deserves higher than an overall four star rating.

Having investigated happy hours previous to our visit to San Diego my daughter and I decided to try the mimosa flight on the Sunday morning for brunch for my daughter's birthday. As we were staying at the Solamar Hotel it was also conveniant as it is literally across the road. The mimosa flight was well worth the $15 and as for the tacos and TJ Dogs - Oh my! The TJ Dogs are a must. On our second visit we tried the bottonless margaritas. If you only drink three you will break even with the normal price. We got to five and each serving was not a waterd down variety as can be found at some happy hours. On both occassions the service was friendly and quick. We will return again!

People at our table ordered several different kinds of tacos and liked them except for the salmon tacos. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were fabulous. A little kick to them and a chorus of different flavors. Truly unique and delicious. The churros for dessert were divine. You get 5 mini churros and some sauce. They were served hot and cooked perfectly. Service was great. We were outside and a big group and thought maybe they would neglect us but they were great. Awesome meal

Cool spot Great food and service in gaslamp San Diego very near the stadium Petco Park funky cool spot

My husband came here for dinner and really liked it. We started off with a guacamole, which was good but nothing special. However, I really liked my al pastor tacos and street corn side. It's only two tacos but they're fairly big and it was enough for us after the guac app. Not the best tacos we had in San Diego but still a solid dinner choice.

Had a great time! Great service and the shrimp tacos as well as the steak tacos were fabulous. Didn't love the homemade chips but that's just my preference... a little too oily. Chorizo cheese dip also good!!

Not my first trip to this restaurant; I enjoy it enough to make a point of visiting when I'm in San Diego. Great "street tacos" and an enormous bowl of guacamole make this a meal worth seeking out. Love the casual bar setting.

I visited while visiting town on business. The food was great and I enjoyed the atmosphere. My server was very nice and made some recommendations. I took her up on one, a happy hour special. I told her such, even pointed at the menu as one sometimes does. The food arrived, I enjoyed it very much. But then, the bill arrived and I was charged double the price. The server said I had not ordered it properly to qualify, which would have been a great thing to let me know before she walked away with my order. I used the money I would have tipped her to make up part of the difference.

There's a lot of loud music and festive atmosphere in a restaurant full of people much younger than me, but the food here wasn't bad. I enjoyed baja style tacos, and our appetizer of stuffed jalapenos was tasty, but so spicy it was a bit difficult to enjoy. My husband ordered the elote (which was quite good) and seemed to enjoy his tacos too--margaritas were standard, churros a bit greasy. All in all, no bad notes here, but only the elote was a stand out.

Came inside and had a few beers while people watching. The California drivers and pedestrian tourists did not disappoint. Our bartender, whose name I cannot recall was awesome, and as tourists ourselves, he gave us some local recommendations for hot spots and must sees. The decor was great, and appeared to be a great place for a celebration. The beer (some kind of blonde ale) was delicious and perfectly poured.

One dish we ordered was nice and fresh tasting; the other was so-so (a bit tired, boring Mexican food). Guac was great; chips were greasy. Restaurant should increase its prices rather than demanding for a 4% surcharge due to inflation -- tacking this on is just deceptive. Tip suggestions are pushy. Location is convenient to convention center.

My daughter has MS, and sometimes can't feel her feet, We were trying to go to dinner here last night, and she stumbled and fell over the curb in front of the restaurant. When we got to the entryway, a guy carded her and asked her how much she'd had to drink, then rather smugly told her he wouldn't serve her. In short, he outsmarted himself with his presumptions. A neurological disease isn't an alcohol problem. Had he talked with her for a minute, he might have recognized that she wasn't drunk -- not even close. We were disappointed that we couldn't have dinner

Our kids wanted Mexican for dinner & this place came up on the list. We decided to make a reservation for that night (since it was pretty busy in town). We walked over from our hotel & were hesitant when we got there. It was a pretty big, open space restaurant with almost no one in it at 630pm. Kids really wanted Mexican & we were there, so decided to go in. Glad we did! The food was delicious. Te waitstaff were very nice. We ordered the guacamole & the salsa sampler - too much for the 4 of us. Our main courses were very flavorful. Not sure why it wasn’t busier.

This was a recommendation from a native of SD. It was worth the visit! Our server/bartender was friendly and had great recommendations. We loved the "outdoor bar" style which still gave a good view of the TVs and people watching out the other side. The salmon taco here was absolutely delicious and worth checking out. This is also a great place to pre-game for a Padres game, as the stadium is only a block away!

This is a very good place for dinner. Area is full of restaurants, and this one is not too crowded (or was not that much as others when we were there). Food is good; there is some variety of Mexican food but not that much -- and seems a bit mixed with American style too. Anyway all we tried (and it was a lot) was tasty and well done. There's a good variety of beers for those of us who like different styles too; it's a big plus! Staff was friendly and served well. The place is a bit noisy and dark -- in between a restaurant and a bar...

Still like that old blended margarita with my Mexican food. Most likely do to the time factor, but still missed it. Good, friendly service. Great location near convention center and gas lamp district. Had a a good menu of both Mexican and burgers. I wasn’t crazy about the pickled salad.

I've been eating here for over 10 years, almost all of which is during Comic Con weekend. Blind Burro is a good place...you come for the lively ambience, festive downtown crowd, for some elevated and a bit overpriced Mexican food. Service from the staff is always friendly and attentive. Inflation! The Chimichanga Burrito went from $18 to $23 in just a year...I remember it being good but not that good. It's enough food for the average American, but my beer belly needs more. I opted for the $16 Nachos, and added carne asada for extra $6, for a total of $22. This was a lot of food! A generous pile of flour and corn tortilla chips, covered in queso manchego, triple chile cheese sauce, pico de gallo, radish, candied jalapeños, guacamole, queso cotija and that extra $6 carne asada that was beefy, tender, and delicious! I ate about 2/3rds of this before giving up and sharing with my friends. This is the best bang for your burro!

Awesome spot near Petco Park. Potato & corn Flautas so good and cheesy and come with a delicious dipping sauce. Veggie tacos had fried cauliflower with avocado, cabbage slaw, and 2 different sauces on corn tortilla. Was amazing. Comes with side of choice. Street corn isn’t on the cob but you can tell they cut it from the cob and they serve it in a bowl. Really good. Pickled veggies were good and a little spicy. Great to add to taco! Margaritas were really good too. We had the pink guava and caramelized pineapple.

We were about 15 mins early for our reservation but were seated immediately. We asked our server what his favorite appetizer & entrees are and took his suggestions. Chips & Salsa, Chicken Tingas Enchiladas & the Skirt Steak (I added a skewer if cilantro lime shrimp) did not disappoint!!! The portion sizes are large & the service was outstanding. We will definitely be visiting here again.

Shaina was our server and she had personality plus and a very hard worker, if only there were more servers like her in the world! We had the delicious red sangrias during their happy hour which was a bargain at $6 My son devoured the burrito shortrib which was huge. The bar/restaurant is located in the Gaslamp District close to Petco Stadium. There is a Tiki Lounge connected to the Blind Burro which we tried. The drinks are quite expensive at $15 each, not sure they were worth it.

There was nobody in line to get inside for a late lunch, but we eventually were told it would be at least 10 minutes for a table. So we went to the bar, but the bartender was overwhelmed with how many people she had to take care of, both on the outside and the inside. But they really had good tacos with varying combinations of ingredients. It helps that there is a translation of all the terms printed on the menu. Good beer choices too.

We had a good dinner and drinks on a weeknight. The place was moderately busy. The atmosphere was quiet enough to have a conversation. TVs we easily visible if you want to watch a game. Service was good. Location was convenient for our hotel in Gaslamp Quarter.

I like the tacos and they are a bit unique from the norm and very large for a street taco vibe. You get 2 on the plate, but easily these are as much food as 3-4 elsewhere. Margarita was nice and strong. Thought the cost was quite high just the same ($100 for two - $40 booze and the rest 2 plates), but we were in a tourist area and the place was a fun spot.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our concierge for a fun Mexican restaurant. We went on a Wednesday night and it was very quiet. The guacamole and chips were pretty good, but not the best I have ever had. The fish tacos were disappointing, they lacked flavour. The corn side was really good. Despite being a quiet evening, our service was very slow and we had to ask several times for water and waited awhile for our drink order. Overall, I think if you are looking for good Mexican food I would try elsewhere.

Excellent food and service. Blind Burro features some unique taco options and several margarita options. I loved the beef tongue tacos and my friend heartily enjoyed her huge burrito. Our server knew the menu and recommended different options to order for dinner. It is also a wonderful atmosphere.

Stopped in for a couple Saturday afternoon drinks and appetizers. Ordered the queso and street corn. Queso was good could have done without the potatoes in it but the street corn was incredible. Worth a stop for that alone.

We stopped by here after a Padres game and found it to be a wonderful little bar. The chips and salsa were exceptional, the hot dog was great, and the other food we order was all very good. The drinks were also top notch.

and with no problems they were able to accommodate us with no problems or complaints. Nice space and good authentic Mexican food. Would definitely go again.

The Blind Burro has been my go to Mexican restaurant when in San Diego for a few years now. It’s a great space with plenty of seating both indoors and sidewalk. Two bars, because, well, people like to drink here. They have one of the best tequila offerings in the gas lamp. Everyone is friendly, the food is well priced and delicious. We enjoyed dinner here (made reservations online thru open table for a 1,000 pt time!) and our bartender/server J was over quickly to get our order. Stellar cocktails. House margaritas with optional muddled jalapeños and jalapeño syrup were WOW as was the Michelada. Then on to Guacamole. Thick, warm and perfectly salty homemade tortilla chips and guacamole that tasted like avocado. Perfect. Dinner was seafood enchiladas and mahi mahi fish tacos with a side of street corn. All of these are highly recommended. Especially love the street corn. Hot, cheesy and very rich. We had no room for churros for dessert but they looked amazing. The Burro is still numero uno in my book. And thanks to J for making it such a fun dinner.

We stopped here when we first arrived in sunny San Diego, and we snagged outdoor seating at the bar, loving the Mexico ambience. My Baja fish tacos were perfect with quality fish and just enough spice and sauce. I also had a surprising and refreshing side of kale slaw. I would love to have that recipe, should have asked. We also ordered a side of "street corn", also tasty, though quite spicy. We were there in the afternoon, when it was relatively quiet, but this looks like it would be a hopping spot for evening.

We came here because it was less crowded and actually had places to sit before the game. We were nervous about coming here since every other place was busy but here. It was a good thing we came though. The service was great, food was delicious, and the place was clean. Check this place out. It's awesome!

I was disappointed by this restaurant. Visiting San Diego I searched for good Mexican restaurants in the area and this one came up on the top list. The tacos were not that great. I’ve had better tacos in the N.J. area. The margaritas were great though. Service was also ok.

WOW!! What great service and the FOOD was amazing! Everything was very flavorful!! Service was spot on! My glass was never empty and the margaritas-yummo!! Highly recommend! Cat Eye Club was fun! Upshots were playing and there were swing dancers swinging it out to the music! So fun to watch! Thanks Blind Burro and Cat Eye Club!!

Got to the airport after flying to SD from the East Coast looking for tacos, a margarita, and a nap. In that order. Ashley at the hotel front desk didn't even hesitate when I asked for a recommendation for the first two - The Blind Burro. It was early afternoon on a Thursday so the restaurant wasn't very crowed, but I can tell that this place HOPS after dark. I started with the house Margarita the way the good Lord intended - on the rocks with salt - AMAZING! Then ordered a classic guacamole appetizer that was big enough to have been my whole meal! Then the MOST DELICIOUS coffee rubbed salmon tacos at Danielle's recommendation - OH MY HEAVENS! I am pretty sure I'm eating here every day of my week in town. Now on to that nap...

Burro has a cool atmosphere with multiple bars and seating around. Less crowded than many others. Sitting at the bar, service was a step above the rest. Pollo Machete comes with 6 pieces, quite filling! Good place for drinks or informal bite - solo or small group. I'll come back next time I'm in SD.

Good idea to share a meal since they give you a lot of food :) The pastor tacos were good as was the brisket burger. The highlight was the side of corn.

My son and I tried the BB. Vanessa gave great service. Chips were warm. Salsa was very good. Guacamole was just okay, lacking spice. The al pastor tacos were good, as was the large burrito.

Everything was ok. Server was nice, portions were large. The food was fine but not Authentic Mexican food like I was expecting.

They have a nice selection of Mexican food options and decent craft beer options. The Tinga Tostadas were delicious, as was the Queso crisp. The bacon wrapped jalapeños were also very good. Mahi mahi tacos were ok, not great.

First time here. Lunch. Lots of outdoor seats and dog friendly. Service was good. Guac was just ok. Tacos were very good. I'd go back and try some cocktails.

This was a good Mexican restaurant and bar. We started with the guacamole and chips appetizer. The guacamole was very good, chips were ok. I’d say the chips and no salsa with the chips are the main reason I’m giving a 4 out of 5. I’ve had way better chips from plenty of restaurants. Our main course was the tacos. We got chicken which were good and the the macha angus short ribs which were amazing. If I went back I’d get those and skip the chips. The waitress was very good and she did recommend the nachos which we didn’t get so maybe I’d try those.

Visited Blind Burro with some coworkers and had an amazing time -- Delicious Margaritas, burritos, and selection of tequilas!

The atmosphere is nice; open air and lots of space. Many of the TVs were tuned to looped videos of scuba diving rather than sports, which was a little odd. The salsa flight was not nearly as interesting as we expected. My son enjoyed his lobster tacos, though $18 was a bit pricey for two tacos. The ceviche appetizer was good! The margaritas were good but tiny, considering the price. A $10 drink should come in a pint glass! Overall, you're paying for the location and atmosphere not the food.

Went in before a baseball game. Place was packed. We ordered and got our food in less than 15 min! It was amazing! Service was excellent and friendly. Also don't forget dessert. The churros are AMAZING! We would go back just for the churros.

Has a pretty good beer selection with a few local beers, and good liquor selection. The Mexican food has a great taste and presentation.

Booked based on other reviews but we though the food was mediocre. Nothing outstanding, and atmosphere is more sports bar than restaurant.

Really enjoyed my dinner at the Blind Burro. My waitress, Emily, was super friendly and attentive. Loved the margaritas and the soup. Can't beat the tiki lounge next door either. Drinks take a while, but they're well worth it.

Walked here from our hotel next to Pecos Park. Delightful surprise. Food was very good as was the service (thanks Gabby!). Try the Al pastor or lobster tacos. For the sides, make sure you order the Mexican grilled corn.

Okay so there are dozens of places to eat in the area. My wife and I ducked in here before flying out. Great guacamole with homemade chips. We both had tacos...I had two carnitas and they were both delicious and substantial! Cool vibe in which to enjoy your meal.

Went to the Blind Burro for lunch. The food was so good that the only regret was that we couldn’t finish everything! Split the seared ahi tuna tacos and catch of the day tacos (grilled swordfish belly...yum!). Fantastic and fresh. Spices were spot on with a spicy zing that was the perfect slow burn. The street corn side dish was a pleasant surprise, being off the cob and packing a ton of flavor! Sat at the bar and our bartender was friendly and helpful. Great spot!

Prompt and friendly service, reasonably priced and the soft shell tacos great. We had shrimp and pork collar tacos with the "street corn" as a side and loved it!

Our hotel front desk staff recommended Blind Burro as a top-on-their-list Mexican food restaurant. To start, we enjoyed Poblano & Corn Flautas (very tasty) and two margaritas. Cabo Caliente margarita was interesting but super hot; a bit hot for me, but interesting with the cucumber jalapeno combination. The tacos and burrito bowl we tried were very good and fairly sized. There is a wrap around street patio which was great for people watching and being outside on a busy Saturday afternoon. Excellent, attentive and super friendly service. Definately would recommend the Blind Burro.

I end up here every trip to San Diego because it is quite simply good. Margaritas are on point, tacos are delicious, ceviche is good, service excellent, etc etc. Also, no problem splitting bills here (which matters on business). Fancier spots in this area are super snooty about that and so I have learned to avoid most of them. Can't recommend this place enough.

We saw this place and decided to give it a try, the food was delicious especially the Chicken Tinga Tortilla. The waitress was really very friendly and helpful in recommending dishes.

This was one of our favorite places in the Gaslamp District. My wife had the Power Bowl and I had the Chicken Tinga Enchiladas, which were different but delicious. The margaritas were good, as were the starter chips. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. All in all, it was a very good lunch, and we wish we had gone back instead of trying some of the other restaurants in the area.

Great food, terrific staff. All around a super choice for dinner. I had the Carne Asada tacos and Spouse had the Poblano Chicken Enchiladas. The food was tasty, fresh and a good value.

TL;DR: Excellent place to have food and drinks. Would definitely repeat. ***Ambiance*** This place has both indoor and outdoor seating. The bar is double-sided and has seating in both indoor and outdoor locations. We sat indoors and the place had a clean, modern look. Loved the open floor plan. The tables are not too close together. Both of these factors gave a roomier vibe to the overall experience. ***Staff*** The check-in staff was courteous and welcoming. We had a reservation for outdoor seating. After arriving at the restaurant 5 mins before our reservation time, we were told that we will have to wait 20 mins for an outdoor table. I was not surprised by that at all. It is inconvenient for a large group to wait and that's why we always make reservations. Unfortunately, most of the restaurant have either forgotten or never knew in the first place, what reservation is suppose to mean. [For exception to this experience, see my review of Weber Grill, Chicago] Fortunately, they had an indoor table that was available and we went for that. Our server was super friendly and helpful. She stopped by multiple times during the entire meal to check if we needed anything. Also had some good suggestions about what salsa to get. ***Drinks*** This was one of the few Mexican restaurant in the gaslamp area that has a house mezcal and I went with that. We also ordered spicy margaritas. All the drinks came out as expected. The margaritas were made properly and had the right amount of liquor to hit the right note. ***Food*** We ordered the salsa flight for appetizer and it came with four different kinds of salsa. I was looking for something spicier and our server recommended two additional salsa which were excellent (and spicy). Our group ended up ordering various tacos and nachos [see pic]. The tacos were excellent. What sets their tacos apart from the rest is that the meat and the spices. Their tacos are not piled high with contrived topping of top to tough bits of meat. Instead, they hold back on toppings so that their excellent meat recipe can shine through. Also, unlike other places, there were only two (instead of the three) tacos per serving. But they did fill me up. After finishing our food, we ordered churros for dessert and the reception in our group was mixed. I found them to be delicious but few people in our group felt that the chef when too far with modernizing it. Overall, it was a very good experience. I loved their wide selection of salsas, and really really liked their food. With so many options for tacos, it is very hard to stand out from the crowd. They have managed to do that successfully. I would definite come back for more.

Found this neat little place on accident looking for lunch near the conference center. The Mexican street corn was a highlight for me. The corn tortillas used for the tacos are gluten free and made in house. They are fresh, delicious and they don’t rip! I had the chicken tacos for lunch and the fried fish tacos for dinner. All was excellent, portions were huge. The house margarita was delicious as well. Great value for the money. I’ll be beck next trip for sure!

We ate here on a Friday game night by chance, everything else seemed packed. The restaurant was packed but they were able to get us right in. We started with fresh made guacamole, wonderful, and fantastic sangria. Both my wife and I had the surf and turf tacos, superb. Wonderfully cooked steak and large hunks of lobster. Excellent. The prices were right in line with being so close to the ballpark and headlamp district. Will absolutely return

Good location with fun atmosphere. The food was ok. They have great chips and salsa which are not free like most Mexican food establishments. Their street corn off the cob is pretty good. We had the chicken tacos. They were 2 very small tacos with 1 side for $14. My expectation was to see white meat chicken. I'm not a fan of dark meat. And I know they say dark meat has better flavor however some of the chicken I could not even chew. And for me that makes it hard to finish my very small and pricey lunch. The waitress did not ask if everything was ok with our food. And I'm not one to complain in a restaurant. It is very rare for me to even need to ask if the chicken is white or dark meat in a restaurant as it is almost always white meat. Anyway, my husband was very disappointed with the price compared to portions. I had to hear about that for an hour. I would probably look at other options before eating here again. We did not have any alcoholic beverages during this visit so cannot rate the bar. Chips and salsa were the highlight of the meal even if it was not free.

Nice outdoor bar seating with a great staff. Had the Power Bowl with chicken and shrimp. It was exceptionally good. Would definitely go back for tasty food.

This place was a surprise. Very nice atmosphere and service but the food was a must. We ordered nachos, veggie tacos and carnitas quesadillas. It was a very special mexican food. Everything is made from the scratch. You can clearly identify each seasonings and the hi quality ingredients flavor. Forget the concept of fastfood and try this amazing place.
Best Street Corn!!
The Blind Burrow was one of my many dining spots while in San Diego and it was one of my favorites. While the grilled chicken tacos were very, the street corn knocked it out of the park. It was by far the best thing I had to eat. The service was wonderful. The outdoor dining was very nice. I highly recommend it, especially the street corn.
