Leisurely dinner

By jnut1 |

The place was quite busy and therefore allowed a lengthy dinner experience. We had spring rolls to start, although ok would not order again. The salad too, although aware winning and had beef jerky’s on it did not impress me like it did GordonRamsey. But let’s talk amazing green culverts, brisket fried rice, goat curry and the dessert. All big winners and things I would go out of my way to come back for.

Food fine, but won't be going back due to staff

By dbinhou7511 |

The food was pretty good. Really enjoyed the Rubbish Pie. Who would have thought fish sauce in a caramel would taste so good. However, won't be going back because staff had terrible hygiene. Witnessed a staff member touching food before it was served without gloves just after cleaning up dirty dishes and being outside for a smoke. I know food safety standard and this failed terribly.

Late Night Snack

We were attending a private party in the area. While there, one of our friends mentioned this place across the street that she was wanting to try. She gave a little background story and mentioned the Brisket Fried Rice which peaked our sons interest. She then mentioned that they even had an Apple Pie that was endorsed by Gordon Ramsey. That was all he needed to hear, we were on our way. We don't know whether this is true or not but can attest to the fact that it was amazing. And so was the Brisket Fried Rice! The Sticky Wings looked awesome! What a fun and lively place to stop in when you are in down town Houston!!!! We will definitely be back!!!

One of Bravery Halls foodie finds

This is the 3rd time we've been here. But, since it was Friday, decided to have the whole branzino fish dressed in a honey tamarind sauce & roasted peanuts. Fabo. Other Vietnamese dishes are available and you can't go wrong with any of them. Great staff ....

Great atmosphere,service and food.

Fabulous and Unique food

This was our second time eating at the Blind Goat and it was as great as the first time. We were with a group of 8 and got to share a lot of different things. Sticky wings are one of our favorites. Mom's egg rolls were very good too. The crawfish and garlic noodles were yummy. Actually everything we have tried is unique and wonderful. Each time we go we try something new. They were very busy but the service was still good. Lauren took very good care of us.

Vietnamese hotspot

Was surprised to find a winner of MasterChef Christine Ha’s restaurant just two blocks down from our Hotel Icon. This was a very good food hall spot. The fried chicken and fried rice were delicious, also try the filet if you have space. Affordable too!

Fascinating Fusion

Who would have expected such great food in a Houston Strip Mall. Vietnamese food with lots of local twists. The brisket rice is to die for. Don't miss the whole fish, very tasty or the apple pie for dessert. Who would think fish sauce and caramel sauce are delicious?

Do Not Come with High Expectations

By Lucelle A |

A friend told us beforehand to not have high expectations of the place and that really helped a lot. I've never tried goat before but the G.O.A.T. Curry turned out to be my favorite dish. My second favorite was the Rubbish Pie. Other dishes that we got that were just OK, so I wouldn't get it again: -Quexo and Wonton Chips -Texas BBQ Brisket Springs Rolls I would pass by here again, next time I happen to be in the area. I would like to try the Vietnamese Pork Belly Pizza.

Delicious fresh food!

Great fresh food. The Vietnamese lunch bowls are delicious (both beef with rice and chicken with noodles)! Recommended!!!

Outstanding Vietnamese Food in Houston

By UnendingWanderlust |

Every so often you find a restaurant that exceeds your expectations. This happened to us today. We were told to try the Blind Goat on our trip to Texas. The restaurant had recently moved to a new location at 8145 Long Point Road. We arrived on a Monday night without reservations and were welcomed by the staff. The service staff was outstanding and the food was the best Vietnamese food we have has since we were in Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An.

Pho sure!

By Lindsay F |

When you're down and out with a bad head cold, there's nothing quite like a hearty bowl of bone broth to aid in healing and warm the soul. Case in point: Chicken Pho. "But............I don't really *love* fish sauce," I mumbled in a nasal-y voice as we walked in to Bravery Hall. To be honest, I wasn't particularly craving Vietnamese food, but my boyfriend insisted that I'd feel much better after a bowl of Christine Ha's famous chicken pho. We plopped atop bar stools overlooking the open kitchen and watched as the culinary orchestra unfolded before our very eyes. "I could just sit here for hours and watch the cooks do their thing," I said in awe. Our friendly waitress/prep cook suggested we get lunch started with the beef carpaccio. "Ehhh," I whispered to my boyfriend,"I hate beef tartare." She told us to just trust her and go with it, so we put the order in. Lightly seared, thin blankets of beef were crowned with a sweet and savory liquid/sauce (*not* fish sauce, which I loathe), citrus, Vietnamese herbs, corn nuts, and roasted peanuts and served alongside puffed prawn chips. The Carpaccio rendered nothing short of culinary dynamite and, hands down, one of my favorite 'bites' of 2019. I loved how Chef Ha played with - and emphasized - various textural components (corn nuts, peanuts, prawn chips) with this delicious, unique, and creative spin on a traditionally bland appetizer. For as adventurous of an eater as I am - and for all of the places in the world in which I have traveled - I am ashamed to say that I have never had pho! Much less a chicken version! Aside from knowing that my boyfriend was obsessed with this particular bowl of the famous Vietnamese soup, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Chock-full of chicken, cracklins, scallion, fried onion, rice noodles, and broth, the pho was topped with a sous vide egg. I pushed the egg aside and took my first bite which, while tasty, didn't blow me away. "It's fricking chicken soup," I thought. It wasn't until I stabbed the egg and stirred the molten yolk throughout the broth that the pho went from good to excellent. Acting as a rich thickening agent, the egg became the piece-de-resistance of the dish and completely converted me. If you find yourself in downtown Houston, carve out some time and hit Bravery Hall for a slew of dining options. I guarantee you that The Blind Goat's menu, namely the Beef Carpaccio, is worth going out of your way for. Plus, you can't beat Chef Ha's incredible and inspirational personal history and story. She is amazing!! Bon app!

Rude Employees

The service was bad to downright rude. Chef Christine should find some replacements who care about the product and consumer. The food was good and came out fast.
