Went for happy hour for the first time. Nice atmosphere and they roll up the windows when the weather is nice. Had some really different craft cocktails. The apps we had were pretty good although the antipasti was no the best I have had - would like more meat and cheese choices. However I would like to marry the caramelized bacon!!! The Mexican corn was yummy and the tomato salad was solid. Three girls, four plates and a few rounds of drinks came to $130 at happy hour....

I've eaten here a couple of times over the years, and enjoyed it. Last night I had the best burger I've ever had! It was cooked perfectly medium rare as requested, and had such great char flavor! The bun looked small, but the burger was thick and wonderful, with cheddar (my request, instead of Swiss), poblano chiles, and spicy aioli. Just so good! It came with great frites, and we shared some (large portion) fried brussels sprouts in a honey chile vinaigrette. I would have liked some acid/vinegar on the sprouts, but they were delicious, especially the char. My husband enjoyed his short ribs on polenta, very tasty, said the meat could have been a little more tender. We enjoyed our drinks and wine. Our server was mostly attentive, just a couple of lapses. Overall a wonderful dinner.

They had The Lady Vanishes, a Hitchcock classic, playing on the TV in the bar. I was sold on the Blue Glass from that moment on. We had stopped in for a light dinner, and ordered off the apps menu. Service was stellar--our server (Mike?) was attentive and friendly, but knew when to leave us alone. The small plates we tried were albondigas (Spanish-style meatballs in a spicy red sauce); burratta with grape tomatoes; and the fries with aoili. The food was tasty, but didn't blow me away. I would probably try other items on the small plates menu before getting these again. The menu is seasonal, so what you try is likely to be different than what we tried. I was hoping for shoestring fries, rather than the standard ones. Still good, and the aoili was very nice. The portions were generous--two adults and we couldn't finish any of them! They focus on wine and cocktails, but have a small draft beer menu. It had several of my favourite local brews, so that worked out well, as I am not a wine lover. The atmosphere is friendly and intimate. The lighting is dim but not so dark you strain to see the menu. We felt enveloped in a friendly, cosy, hideaway.

It was disgusting to sit at a table next to a window sill with a dead fly and 2 additional flies buzzing around. The flies calmed down, so we ignored them and proceeded to order from the limited menu. I had an over-salted and small portion of pasta with dungeness crab and my companion had an "ok tasting" piece of salmon. The restaurant was not busy at all, so I guess other people know to stay away. On the positive side, the starter of eggplant, pine nuts, and pita was good, and so was the dessert. This restaurant was recommended by several people we know, but in the end it was a big disappointment.

The Blue Glass is located a little east of 8th Ave NW on NW 65th Street. The restaurant is cozy but comfortable. I ordered the Steak Frites. The steak was done exactly to order and was delicious. Good fries too. Washed down with a very tasty locally brewed No 6 apple Cider. My wife had the Crab Spaghetti which she said was excellent, accompanied by a very good Manhattan cocktail off the Happy Hour Menu. Dessert was an Apple Bread Pudding to which I added a scoop of ice cream. Very yummy except the wife insisted on having some of it! I promised myself I would have the Chocolate Lava Cake next time I go. Service was very friendly and efficient and the overall ambiance was great we thought. There is a small parking lot but otherwise there is street parking. It's not a cheap restaurant by any means but, overall, we thought it was good value for money and we will definitely be back.

This place is a gem. It is a local pub with amazing food. It is on the pricier side. They have only about 15 items, $15-&25 for a main dish, $10-$15 for an appetizer. Portion sizes vary, some items are very filling, others leave you wanting a bit more, but every song thing we've had here has been incredibly delicious. I highly recommend the pumpkin ravioli. The staff here treat you like family, It's different than other restaurants I've been to, there is extra warmth in the service. The staff is also attentive and always keeps the water classes filled and is highly knowledgeable about the menu. I would go here every day of I could afford it. In fact the only down side about this place is the price, but it is well within reasonable for what you get in my opinion.

This is place is fantastic, excellent food and very reasonably priced. I didn't know I liked grits until I had their eggs, bacon, and cheese grits breakfast, now it's my favorite breakfast in Seattle. They had an "Adult Corndogs" on the special board, fried sausage injected with hollandaise. A couple of their stellar Dark & Stormy's later I had to try it. It was really tasty, nothing like the hot-case variety, really surprisingly tasty. The owner has been there every time I've dined, she cares and keeps an eye on the servers and the food.

We love the Blue Glass, within walking distance of our Ballard home. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always ready to give you suggestions or praise you for your choices. The bar menu is unique and special (their manhattans are heavenly), the food is healthy, with a frequently changing selection and daily specials on the chalkboard, and lots of veggies prepared in imaginative ways. The atmosphere is upbeat but not overwhelmingly noisy.

The Blue Glass is a great neighborhood eatery! Well prepared healthy menu! It's been awhile. We will go back!

I came here for dinner, having read a number of good reviews, and I wasn’t disappointed. I had the special of the day, being Alaskan halibut, and note chef put quality over quantity. The whole meal was great, with each tasty element adding up to a great meal. And for a change I had room for dessert (creme brûlée) as I said before, quality. Not quantity! Worth paying a bit more for a premium meal.

Prawns extremely overcooked & Caesar salad not fresh & inedible. Appeared as though it was made yesterday. Worst food quality I have seen in a restaurant maybe ever.

Hard to find but SO very worth it. Next time I am in Seattle it is first on my restaurant list.

I had high expectations for this spot.... the reviews I'd read glowed about the food, service, and atmosphere. Unfortunately it fell short on all fronts. Perhaps an off night for the restaurant, but I won't being going back to find out. Food: we shared a number of items to try what sounded like good dishes with interesting flavors. The arugula salad: Underwhelming with exactly 2 cherry tomatoes, sliced in half to present as 4. The arepas, which for those of us who have traveled and tried the real deal (both baked and fried) were really greasy and the duck ragout, which had great flavor but was also a pretty small dish. Service: It felt like our waitress pretty much forgot about us, which might have been because we were sitting in one of their outside benches out front. Which brings me to ambience.... super small tables, with uncomfortable bench seats where you get to rub butts with the stranger behind you. Could be fun, but this time, not so much. Overall, with all the great food choices in Seattle, I'm moving on to the next one.

We were pleasantly surprised by great and knowledgeable service, and unusual yet delicious preparations, at reasonable prices. The waitress knew every dish on the menu, and all about the drinks (and made my husband an outstanding margarita, herself). The chicken parmesan (in lentil/quinoa crust) was to die for, and the chicken artichoke pandini was also terrific. The fries came with an amazing ketchup. I wasn't crazy about the fried polenta squares (the size of tater tots, so the polenta flavor was overwhelmed by the cooking oil). The fried cauliflower with gremolata was really good, but too much for even two people! They had quite a few specials on the board, which we hope to try another time. A wonderful experience.

I've eaten here many times as its very close to my home but realized it deserves a review as its one of those off the beaten path neighborhood places a visitor wouldn't know about. A very diverse menu with top quality ingredients and imaginative cocktails makes for a wonderful dining experience. I'm not a big fan of cheesecake but their salted caramel cheesecake is incredible! Staff is very personable and professional, striking that perfect balance. You won't be disappointed.

Wished we lived in the neighborhood, because this would be a great neighborhood place to hang out. We greatly enjoyed the food and the whole vibe. Great staff. Food was excellent and came out quickly. Great bar. We'll be back.

When we want to go out for a satisfying meal and a good value this is the place we head for. I love the food and have been all over the menu, nothing disappoints. Good drinks program as well.

The Blue Glass is fairly new - about a year or so, and it located in a few blocks west of the Woodland Park Zoo and east of trendy Ballard. It looks almost like a neighborhood bar when you drive by - I think it was at some time - but the real surprise is the great food. The menu is small and changes so it's hard to suggest what to have, but go sit at the bar and chat with Nathan, the barkeep. He'll tell you stories about his screwball father in law. Not too loudly as I'm often at one of the tables across the small dining room. He can also advise you on the menu. Or, just have a small plate appetizer if you're just there to check the place out. It's all great. The Blue Glass is not large and it can get busy as more and more people discover it. Especially on weekends. That's why I am somewhat reluctant to even offer this review. I would prefer to keep the place a secret. Well, except Nathan can probably use the tip money to keep up with my granddaughter's increasingly expensive interests. Seriously, I love this place. I think it perfect for couples and tourists (if they can find it). It's Seattle at its best and doesn't rotate 600 ft in the air.

HUGE HIT!! I totally recommend checking out this out-of-the-way Ballard gem. The food is lovely, the drinks are superb, and Michelle provided impeccable service. We live in Texas, and visit the PNW often: the Blue Glass is on our Must-Do List from here on out!

This restaurant has a beautiful, cozy interior, wonderful staff and a stellar menu. Great for friends, couples and special occasions. The portions are generous and well worth the price. Lots of options for vegans, vegetarians, pescatarians and meat eaters. I love their margaritas, burrata, risotto and mussels.

The brussel sprout appetizer and dugeness crab pasta were outstanding and the service was wonderful too. If you're in the mood for great food, friendly service and reasonable prices, stop by The Blue Glass and you can get all three.

I require a gluten free diet. The waitress recommended a chicken dish, I think it was a chicken parmesan. It was delicious! I usually can't finish all my dinner, but I had no trouble licking the plate clean. I also ordered a bar drink and it was very good. The street parking is hard to find, just like all of Ballard.

The Blue Glass is a small bar/restaurant that is consistently warm and comfortable, especially perfect on rainy days. The server, CJ, is as friendly and professional as they come. She is part of the reason I like to go there. Happy hour is the time to go - not as crowded and a great martini. The small plates are good as well.

My wife and I wanted dinner in a local spot and we stumbled into this place. Service was excellent, ambiance was top notch, Carrie Jo was very attentive, my seafood spaghetti dish was great and the blackberry cobbler ala mode wrapped up a great meal. My wife chose a couple of appetizers that were happy hour prices for her dinner and was quite happy. My Silver City Red beer was good enough to have two and my wife enjoyed her Milbrandt Pinot Gris. Amazing little find for us and you won’t go wrong eating here.

Quiet place with plenty of room to gather with friends - fresh, exciting drinks and a decent sized menu. A+

Tried The Blue Glass for the first time. Staff were were warm, attentive and created a relaxed dining experience the entire evening. Although a smaller space, the atmosphere was welcoming and well kept. The restaurant put to good use a large door that nicely opens up the restaurant. While waiting for friends to join us, ordered simply but well prepared pico de gallo with freshly made made chips. Fun cocktail menu and good wine and beer selection. We ordered the tostadas and prawns and shared a delicious cheese cake. Food was well prepared and appropriately portioned (not too big). We will be going back soon!

A little different menu with a creative touch. All the things that I saw were beautifully presented and the things my friends and I shared were excellent. Just the right spices or sauce on everything we tasted. If you don't like your veggies you've got to try there cauliflower. Could try as a appetizer. Of three different deserts it was hard to pick a favorite but think the cheese cake won.

This is a great Ballard neighborhood restaurant with wonderful food at a very reasonable price. The food is definitely NW and has a lot of veggies on the menu for those who eat less meat. We started with the grilled brussel sprouts with a Thai BBQ sauce and the cauliflower in a lemon, butter and garlic sauce. My wife and I went there and it was a good couples and friends atmosphere with hip decor and friendly staff. It is not in the center of Ballard but well worth the trip.

Recently some very good meals at Blue Glass. The Brussels sprouts with honey Sriracha are delicious as is the mac and cheese. Service is excellent, Michelle was hilarious and right there with another drink during happy hour.

We decided to stop for a quick meal but stayed for few hours! Great food & drinks (we enjoyed "East meets West"), and super nice staff in this clean & well designed neiborhood restaurant. Definitely worth coming back!

This is the place to be on a lovely evening in Seattle. Perfect wine pairing; great food and the atmosphere cannot be beat. The waitstaff are great--attentive but not hovering. They seem to arrive exactly at the time you want your plates cleared and another pour of their delicious wine. Lots of specials that are unique, delicious and fun. Do not hesitate to spend a great evening dining on the patio or inside. Or cozy up to the bar. Our new favorite restaurant. Also, very romantic!

This is one of those rare finds where both the atmosphere and food work. Great menu and service make this a place you will want to return again and again.

The meal and service were excellent. We started with grilled sprouts, which appeared weird but were excellent and very tasty, We also had Parmesan frites, and Thai mussels. The frites were filling but more ordinary while the mussels were a really nice treat in their coconut green curry sauce. For mains, we had steaks which were very nice. This is a local, off the beaten track restaurant in Ballard and one we ill definitely re-visit when back in town.

I like to stop at the Blue Glass periodically for some of their delicious servings, interesting cocktails or great selection of beer. It is cozy and the staff is extremely personable!

Overall average. The service was really good, it does get a bit noisy, but not too bad. The food was not bad but not great. I had the NY Strip, it was good, but needed salt badly. My wife had the burger, which was pretty good, but the fries were cold. Overall avg.

We were looking for a new spot to try. The Blue Grass caught our eye as we slowly drove by seeing other diners enjoying themselves inside. A chic and comfortable restaurant, we were greeted by staff. Friday 6:45pm we were able to seat ourselves right away. I enjoyed the Roasted Poblano Burger w frites. Very flavorful with the smoky poblano. The Burger remained neat as I cut it in half to enjoy, the frites gently crisped. A slowly braised lamb dish in savory juices, we did order a couple slices of grilled bread to soak up every drop of its flavor. Key Lime Chiffon Pie slice for two completed our meal. We will be back before the summer ends to enjoy another wonderful dinner and Key Lime Chiffon Pie or perhaps the Creme Brûlée or the eight other home made dessert choices...
Cozy location, Comfy NW cuisine
Great cozy neighborhood eatery with a nice selection of NW food options. Stopped by on a Friday evening and the place was full of couples and groups. Prices seemed reasonable when compared to other Ballard restaurants. Portion sizes were what a portion should be -not huge! We enjoyed a small plate app of bacon and apples; dinner was a poblano burger and salmon with polenta. We left comfortably full and would definitely stop in again if in the neighborhood.
