Seasoning is on point!

By Ms. D |

This is a glorified hole in the wall. The decor is rustic, kinda dark, kinda smelly (due to all the seafood on the tables I'm sure). We waited 45 minutes to get seated but it was worth the wait! If your afraid to get messy or shy about eating in public this is NOT the place for you. Your fingers and your face will get messy. You will use a lot of paper towels. Don't worry, they give you a whole roll. Also, you eat on the table and your food arrives in a plastic bag or bucket. The seafood was fresh and the seasonings were DELICIOUS. We went at around 8:30 on a weekday and it was PACKED. They had a security guard present so I'm not sure if its in the best neighborhood. Getting there it seems like your passing thru the ghetto but again, I'm not familiar with the area. The pricing was a little much considering the crawl fish are so small but I don't know how much they go for anyway. You pay by the pound of seafood at market price and the prices aren't listed which is a bit of a nuisance. This was my first time eating crawl fish and I wouldn't order the crawl fish again..to tedious and small. I would go here again and get the king crab with potatoes and corn. They also have chicken tenders and fries for the little one.

Always Super Delicious!

This place is worth every penny spent. If you want to impress family and friends, take them to Boiling Crab. Just make sure you go when they are about to open, because most of the times this place is packed and busy. I have tasted their snow crab, shrimp, side veggies, fries, rice, and catfish, and All is super tasty! Can't wait for my next visit!

WORST SERVICE EVER

By Caio A |

typically is a couple hours wait. I live close by so I put my name in the list go back home and come back later. Yesterday it was actually empty, got sat right away and it was fairly slow so I figured we would get decent service. Boy was I wrong. Typically when it's busy I order 2-3 beers together because once they drop it off, don't expect for them to come back. Yesterday I figured it would be better, ordered a beer and water and 3 lbs of shrimp. Once I was done with all my shrimp, the server came back to offer a second one.. are you kidding me?!?!?! You can't even get the basic hello or hi in a greeting. But regardless the horrible horrible sucky and worst service you will probably ever get, the food is tremendous!!!!! The wholeshabang flavor is amazing. Their mild fries is crispy and just enough spiciness to it. The corn and potatoes cooked with the shrimp is all delicious. You will get messy and dirty which is okay. You come here to eat with your hands so what do you expect. Now this review, for me at least is over several trips... I still go back because the food is that good but I go knowing I'll get a better service at any fast food any time... pretty sad.

Delicious and great fun

By Car0927 |

Going to this restaurant was a suggestion from my teenage son. For a European, this crab restaurant which serves the most delicious food in plastic bags, on your tablecloth, is a true new experience (next level, I would say). The king crab with the 'whole shebang' is so good. Potatoes and corn are so delicious with all the spices. The shrimps were excellent. I had oysters as well. It was a big party which we enjoyed a lot. Never had so much fun eating crab. One note: if they say spicy they mean it. We did not take the hottest one but the one below; we really it like spicy and it was a good choice.

The Boiling Crab

Excellent staff, superb entree’s reasonably priced in an open setting. Highly recommend visiting this establishment.

<April 01,2015> Visited_w Seafood Lover Friends who enjoy there every week...

By Kinam A |

I heard about " The Boiling Crab" in Dallas a long time before, onc been there two years before, that my image of that typical restaurant was a very spicy Seafood Restaurant especially for Spicy Hot Taste lovers. But this I became a FAN of the Taste, Atmosphere, Service, the table manner is completely unique there, No any Silverware necessary, use your own fingers to enjoy sparkling spicy hot taste, you won't find that unique marinated taste anywhere, besides PLUCKERS WINGS SPORTS BAR ... the best of the best...... Don't forget to visit there one time, you will be fascinated with the magical spicy hot taste....♥♥♥♥♥🐭🐭🐭🐭🐭 By kinamcollections 2015

food ok, service not, carry

By sanbao184 |

the crawfish here are pretty good. there are other places in the dallas area the are their equal. however, the service is kinda like southwest airline without the humor. when the place is busy, which it is during crawfish season, getting a table is a contentious affair. if you like fighting for a place to sit, wondering when the hostess might appear, waiting forever, this is your spot. it reminds me of the new orleans jazz festival except the food is not as good and the boogie missing. once seated, the service is adequate to marginal, the crawfish pretty good (all i ever eat there), be forewarned, the place has been robbed, and not just the cash register, the patrons as well. but, this is texas, so carry your six shooter and get into the spirit of the lone star state while you tuck into a pretty good platter of mudbugs..

What a wait...

By RaiDiD10 |

If you are impatient, pass this place up. For a party of 9, we waited 2.5 hours on a Thursday.... every time someone from our group went in to ask how long, it was ALWAYS 30 minutes. The food was quite tasty. We got last call just 15 minutes into our meal...

It doesn't get any better

By Nick H |

I lived in New Orleans for a year and of course my favorite thing about that city is the seafood. This is the ONLY place that does it as good or better. I even took a NOLA native coworker there and she couldn't disagree. Everything is fresh. Servers are young but fun. Amazing bold flavors and every type of crab or shrimp you could want. An absolute must.

Get here early... Or be prepared to wait

By DSTSS |

This is truly a hands on experience.... And that is important to know for 2 reasons: First, if you don't like "playing" with your food, this place probably isn't for you...be prepared to go through half a roll of paper towels... It can get messy.... Second, since the food requires so much work, the meal takes a while... So tables turn slow... And if you are waiting for one to open up.... Good luck... Instead, you may want to show up 30 mins before it opens...

Good for a one time visit

By RaptorSam |

It was our first time to visit this place. Good for New eating experience and the food is fine but pricey I don’t trust their weight measurements and I doubt it is correct especially everything is ordered by the pound

Over-hyped, over-priced, over-rated

By Deborah M |

RESTAURANT: small and cramped. WAIT TIME: 45 minutes for Saturday evening. SERVERS: kind and attentive. FOOD: ordered mild spice and received heavy hot spice. Server literally rinsed my bag of crawfish & potatoes. Too late. Spice had infused food. Taste buds were already ruined and lips on fire. Shellfish was cooked well. PRICE: extremely overpriced. Charged $3.50 per serving of three small new potato and $1.25 per half ear of corn on the cob. $29.00 for three king crab legs. Party of four plus tax was $107.90 (see receipt). OVERALL: over-hyped and over-rated on Trip Advisor reviews. Over-hyped and over-rated food taste and quality. WILL NEVER RETURN.

Excellent crabs - small oysters but good

By thed3 |

First time visit. 5 of us ordered King and snow crabs plus a dozen oysters. The legs were very large served in large plastic bags in which you can mix in the herbs/sauce if your choice. The oysters, while small, were very good. Waitress was exceptional. Water was kept full and paper towels always available. I would suggest you wear rain coat as the photos will show.

BEST SPICY CRAWFISH EVER!!!

By Zomtash |

If you dig spicy and crawfish, then this is the place to go. I am not from Dallas, but I think I will be visiting just to eat the crawfish. I can't stress how excellent it was.

Love the boiling crab!

By michellexxi |

This place is not pretty and it's located in an old shopping mall, yet it's great! The food is amassing. Prepare to get your hands dirty and to wait for a table, if you are in a rush, order to go! Love the king crab, blue crabs, and you can get it with the spice you like it, light, medium or XXX...

Worth every minute!

By Meekash |

This place was very delicious. The seasoning was great and nothing else compares to this place. The shrimp and king crab legs were AMAZING! They provide all the supplies you need before you begin to eat. The wait is longer compared to most other places in the metroplex and same great service. I recommend wearing comfortable clothes and something that isn’t white in case sauce goes flying! Will be going there again soon!

Large Word of Mouth reviews, But I was Deeply Disappointed.

By Dr Patricia D |

This was My First time going to this Resturant and I was deeply Disappointed. Prior to ordering my Food, a young lady that had spoken highly about the food and the service was complaining about her shrimp and Crab legs tasting old and spoiled. Wow! So I ordered safe, Fried Catfish. I Never knew you could mess up catfish, but it was bland, Nasty and although I had ask for it to be fried hard, it was barly fried. To have heard of the lines wrapped around the Building, and how Good this food is, I was so Very disapointed. Service was slow. They do NOT serve alcohol, and although they offer Bibs, I did NOT like the Paper Tables, and eating right off of the table. I did NOT like that. And although I understand the concept, I Prefer plates and eating utensils. I was simply Not impressed with the Area, the food, the service or the menu. They had a security guard; when I ask why, I was told it is because people fight to get in there and because they feel like somone stayed to long or any other (deemed ready for them) Reason. Wow! Just Wow! I did NOT leave there wanting to fight or go back, and I also noticed that an 18% Grutuity tax had been added to my Bill. That was less than I would have tipped her for my Meal, but since they were so smart and added it for me, it was all she got and her Only Tip from me (and I Pride myself on being a Great Tipper). I will NOT be giving this place a Second chance, and although I have Heard Great reviews, that was NOT My experience. No Sir, I do NOT recommend this place to anyone, this area is dangerous (downright scary looking) and it was Not clean, and the service left a lot to be desired, the Service was Poor! No recommendation from me. Not at all.

Good crab

By Chris B |

This is a deceiving exterior for the amazing food and interesting exterior. The service was good and the flavors of the food was phenomenal.

Longgggg line, but it is worth the wait. Best craw-fish in Dallas

By silvercode |

You waited... but will get reward when your name called and the host sat you for your favorite craw-fish. Best craw-fish in town. I will stop here for you to explore, expect long line and the wait can be as long as over 60 minutes sometime. Enjoy, you will appreciate the great craw-fish.

the food out weigh the wait and long queues

By cocoplum19 |

if you are a lover of great tasting seafood - then find your way to this neck of the woods and I say neck because I wouldn't normally venture there. But the "whole shabang" is worth it. I am surprised this place is so far only located in LA and Dallas.. Can I please get a franchise ?? they open at 4pm to 11pm and immediately there is a queue out the door so I order to go.. with my spread. The portions are priced at daily catch rates for King Crab legs but not snow crab legs.

Lots of fun and yummy too!

By Cinnam0n |

We decided to go for a late lunch on Saturday and I was really surprised to find that there was a 20-30 minute wait. Since we drove all the way out there and heard great things about it, we stuck around. We were not disappointed. First, the place is not a classy joint. It's in a sketchy area, it's crowded and you will most definitely get messy. Second, the food is yummy and very, very well priced. We ordered 5 lbs of seafood and it came to about $75. Third, the XXX spice level is definitely hot. I like really spicy food and found that the XXX was too much for me (it starts out ok, but starts to heat up as you go.) order your food accordingly. The "Whole Sha-bang" seasoning is awesome, I wish the sold it in jars! So go, and prepare to wait, prepare to get messy and have garlic breath the rest of the day, but it's well worth it!

Love Love Love

By Queen D |

I Love this place so much. I would have rated it 5 stars but there’s always a wait and it could be bigger and have more than one bathroom or at least more stalls.. The food is always on point and seasoned to perfection. Wish there were more locations in the Dallas area like there are in California. Love this place.

Timing is everything

By Samantha |

We went a little after they open on a Thursday afternoon. There was no wait time, no line and we were seated right away. Good thing because we were starving! I know during busy time the wait can be a hour plus to get a table. We ordered and our food came out promptly. Favors were delicious! We ordered shrimp, calms, crawfish, corn and sweet potato fries. It's a bit pricey but we did order seafood so I wasn't complaining. Service was quick and attentive which was a plus. I'm pretty sure when it's dinner time they get overwhelmed but this visit it worked in our favor. We had a great experience.

Pick up order

By Ronda H |

My first time ordering from here and ordered Cajun fries, Calamari, and fried oysters. The portion size was so small it was not worth the money. I will never go back. A waste of money!!!

OMG... GREAT PLACE

By Latoya M |

I was visiting Dallas recently, from Chicago. Learned of the Boiling Crab from food network, knew I had to visit. Read the reviews online & did as they said... GET THERE EARLY!!! Early as in when they first open. Arrived 40 minutes before open time, there was a line starting (we were 4th or 5th). My family & I truly enjoyed the food. I wish there was one in Chicago. They really should expand this location & expand to more cities also.

Awesome

By Tunui |

Yes, it’s pretty crowded and the area is not that great, but crawfish, shrimps or crabs are absolutely delicious. My go to place when it comes to Cajun food.

Excellent seafood

By RaptorSam |

First of all you have to have a reservation or wait an hour to get in big negative Food and taste is excellent but very pricey and you cannot verify what’s your order. Customer service is very bad and you feel like you are in a prison. But after all the food is great and you pay for what you get Not recommended for kids.

yummy

By robert w |

excellent food. you will not be disappointed. The drink prices are great. Even with a bib on, you will leave messy....in a great way.

For shellfish lovers only

By JohnRegoPark |

This family-friendly restaurant caters to all ages in a fun upbeat environment. Shellfish is presented to the table in large bags that are emptied onto an oil-based cloth. Then everyone is to dig in. There are no plates, no forks (unless you want one), and plenty and plenty of napkins. Food seems to end up literally everywhere. If you can't eat shellfish the pickings are small: fried catfish was the only thing on the menu that I could find. Vegetables are limited to potatoes and corn. Try the boiled eggs, which are in shellfish sauce. The oysters are also out of this world. If you find it hard to deal with all the mess, go somewhere else. The rest of the world will like this experience and consider it fun.

Wow amazing food, great place to eat

By Jonathan A |

amazing bolling crawfish, clam, crab, shirimp I cant tell you how much we enjoyed our food , really amazing wondelfull staff. great beer lots of TV and amazing food. we just had tons of fun we love it.

Crab Legs Heaven

By Parispaigepayton |

This place has the best crab legs in Dallas, Texas, I admit the wait is long no reservation can be made, but it is worth the wait. I had snow crabs, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes and the a cup of gumbo (didn't like the gumbo) I have visit 3 times and each time was not a disappointment. They also have chicken strips and season fries which are also good.

Crabs

By Lisa D |

They boil all the crabs in plain water and then put them in a bag a shake them in ur choice of seasoning which makes the shell taste great if that's what you eat but the crabs taste like water/nothing, the blue and dungeness crabs were undercooked and some of the blue crabs were dead before they boiled them which made the meat mushy and snow and king crabs can only be steamed and if you boil them you destroy the texture of the meat, well they boiled them and I asked for garlic seasoning for the snow because ragun cagun is too heavy a seasoning for that crab and they still put that seasoning with the garlic, $65 down the drain, a huge disappointment, I'm from Florida, been here for a year, heard about them last week, I moved from Florida, been cooking crabs for 33 years, idk if the great reviews are plants or people who don't know what crabs are supposed to taste like, ijs and smh, never again and if I opened up right beside them, they would lose all their crab business

Fresh and spicy crawfish!

By Julie N |

Delicious fresh crawfish cooked the way you want it. So delicious! The service was fast and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants good fresh seafood!

Friday date night

By Barbara S |

An average wait (30min) but that's ok when the food is this amazing. The flavors in the sauce are just delectable! Service is good considering how busy they are. Mussels were the largest Ivd ever had anywhere!!!! Spice is just right. Quality of seafood is very good for land locked restaurant.

Consistently Great

By Robertb75040 |

Love the snow crab "whole shabang" medium. It will only kick you once. It is always messy but that is part of the fun.

Excellent food

By Ram M |

one of my all time favorite resturant I love their snow crab and dungeon crab these are their signature dishes only sad part is we have to wait for long time be it any day but its worth while I love their food and service.

$2.15 cents

By Glen A |

I went there to order crab legs and corn.which I often do. I asked to get a beer while I waited. Couldn't sell to me bc I was ordering togo. The lady then said I can give you a coke. I said ok, a small. She then tells me is $2.15 cents. I said that's ok. Now I have a togo order for $159.00. She then turns and pours out the coke in the sink. I politely went to cxl my order and I had to make them ask me why I wanted to cxl. They acted like that was not a bad thing. How do you say I can give you a coke and then charge me and act like I am wrong. That is the last visit. Smdh

It was great.

By Lynette H |

Loved this place. It be pack but we beat the crowd. I enjoyed this place yo the fullest. You have to eatvwirh your hands so be ready for that.

I just don't get it.

By Diantha R |

We have been reading the raving reviews of the Boiling Crab for a couple of years and finally went. I guess I just expected more. The service was good, but seriously, the food was just ok. We ordered mussels, crab legs and shrimp. The mussels and shrimp were over cooked and disappointing. The crab legs were very good, but so much effort for the little bit of goodness was just not a great use of time or money. We waited about an hour to be seated which was expected per the reviews and truly did not mind because we were expecting some great food. I'm glad we went and our curiosity was satisfied, this will be our one and only visit.

Unbeatable price and taste

By Luis M |

If you love shrimps, crab and craw fish but you want something different, this is the place...the hole shabang season they use its something amazing which powers up the flavor of the sea food, there some other food options for those that doesnt like seafood, but its absolutely awesome! the only down side is that the place is very small so if you dont arrive on time (before opening 40-60 min) you will have to wait at least an hour to get a table, but totally worth the wait!

Bad service

By Cierria H |

So mad today. Went to boiling crab and had the worse service. I've been to this place several times and I've never had worse service then today. I had a waitress Febee that was disrespectful. She told us to let her talk when we were placing an order. Then the person who brought our food out dropped the greasy bag and almost got our clothes dirty. After we asked for a manager he was really dirty to us. He had an attitude when my boyfriend said he's a chef and asked why was the service so bad today. The manager told him "if he knows what's going on in the industry he shouldn't even have to ask" then walked away and said "the f word" out loud and my 7 year old daughter was sitting right there. We ended up waling right out.

Delicious King Crab Legs

By Pho N |

We ordered 6lbs of food: 2 lbs of crawfish, 2lbs of king crab legs, and 2 lobsters. It was amazing. The flavor the king crab leg was amazing with the garlic sauce. It was so yummy. Here is a great tip before coming to the restaurant...get disposable gloves. It makes it easier and clean.

Deliciously Spicy!

By BangkokSachse |

The foods are deliciously spicy. I like fish and chips. My family like boiled crawfish and crabs. We usually wait about 40 minutes but it is worth it.

Timing is everything

By bevsensualparty |

Early week day dining was perfect. Parking no issue, table sitting immediately. Take out orders are also available. I totally enjoyed the crawfish and fried oysters. I combined the Rajun caujun with garlic sauce, very tasty indeed. My only disappointment and it was entirely my fault for not understanding my waitress, who by the way was very attentive the entire time. I thought she said the dungeness crabs were running like $20. Imagine my surprise when it posted $42...lol Next time, I'll just stick with the crawfish and shrimps.....lol Everything was delicious, SO YES, there will be one more time for me before leaving Dallas. Already have saved in my gps!

Yummy Seafood

By CBC1728 |

I have been to this place many times and always feel the food a great taste. I always recommend anyone who wants to enjoy delicious seafood. Even though it's super busy all the time, worth waiting to dine in.

What's the Fuss?

By explorer75157 |

I went here after so many raving reviews. I had shrimp and blue crabs with the Whole Shebang sauce, which was too spicy for me. The flavor was... not impressive. BUT I did go back later and had the fried shrimp. I did like that a lot.

Always amazing

By Fugitive54 |

I've been many times here as well as locations in LA. What to order (get whole shebang spice) King Crab legs Dungeoness Crab Shrimp Fries Get there by 5:30 on a week night to avoid massive lines or if you enjoy 3 hour waits go on a weekend night. This place rocks!

Great seafood

By Tommy W |

Everything was at it’s best to the service to the food, great little seafood restaurant. Had the pound of boil Shimp. Great job.

A RIP OFFFFFF

By Dique C |

A RIP OFFFFFF --- I feel sooo ashamed for myself that I let this place trick me into thinking that I was getting two pounds of crab legs for $44 dollars when all I got was two medium sized clusters!!! It was a take out and I was BOILING MADDDD when I got home to see the trickery that was made. The check clearly states 1.1 pounds - REALLY one cluster???? PEOPLE BE AWARE YOU'RE GETTING RIPPED OFF!!!

Dallas Trip

By gtbh717 |

Love this place!! You can expect a wait, but it is worth it. We had shrimp, crab and sausage with potatoes and corn. We also got a bowl of gumbo and Cajun fries. Everything was great. When you get here, you choose your seafood (price is by the pound), the flavoring and the spiciness. We got mild Rajin Cajun. The table next us gave us some of their XXX sauce, so we figured we could spice ours up if needed. Not needed. They also have fried choices, but why would you come to a place like this and get something fried?!? It is a little pricey, but it is good, fresh seafood and an experience like no other. If you are anywhere near Dallas (Garland area), make an effort to eat here. We had enough leftovers for a second meal.

Excellent food but be ready to take your food to-go

By rdlc |

We were there at 7p for dinner and we were told that it was a 2hr wait. Not gonna happen with a 3yo. Since we drove all the way from downtown Dallas (abt 15-min drive) we decided to order take-out instead. We were out the door 15 min later. The calamari was just ok but the crab with ragin cajun sauce was amazing! I liked it much better than the garlic sauce. Food was reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

BEST SHELL-FISH EVER!!

By veer2808 |

If you are looking for the seriously best, hands-down, no-frills, roll-up-your-sleeves and eat from the table shell-fish restaurant in Dallas, make a bee-line for the Boling Crab. Be sure to reserve your table due to long queues even on week days. You wear a safety bib and knuckle down to some of the tastiest snow crabs, prawns and crawfish in town. The red chilly seasoning is awesome and servings are by the pound. Moreover, the crispy fries are also unbeatable! Good for repeat visits!

Worth the wait!

By Lib320 |

We visited this restaurant last week and even though we had to wait 2 hours it was worth the wait! (We got there at 7:00 on a Friday night and it was packed but we were able to have a few drinks while we waited). It's not in the best area of Dallas and don't go unless you plan on getting your hands dirty. We love going to Hot 'N' Juicy in Vegas when we visit and this is a close contender near our home. I got the Whole Shabang Shrimp, potatoes, sausage and corn and it was awesome!

Incredible food!

By April Y |

My company had a dinner here and we had a party of 12. The wait was 3 hours but it was completely worth it. The crawfish were prepared perfectly and the shrimp were huge! Be prepared to get messy and have fun. The only complaint is that there is not a bar area for the long wait.

Very Good!

By sxl93 |

They sell seafood by the pound and at market price. The food is amazing because of the delicious sauce they have. I recommend getting the whole shibang sauce with mild or hot. Servers are good. There is one flaw and that is to eat you will have to wait because therr are always so many people trying to eat here. Overall very delicious place to eat some seafood/cajun.

So worth the wait!

By Hollijean |

I had been told that this place is amazing so we finally made the trip from FW to see for ourselves what all the hype was about and boy am I glad we did. The place is in a tiny strip shopping center so it doesn't look like much from the outside. But once we got inside it was great. It's a tiny place so be prepared to wait for a table. We both got a pound of crab and it's delivered in a giant bag that you eat out of and it's messy but oh so good. Be prepared to have all those amazing spices all over your hands. It is a little pricey but we got out of there for about $60 dollars. It was worth it!

Crawfish to go

By Julia H |

We ordered 10 lbs of crawfish with corn, potatoes & sausage! Excellent seasoning & cooked perfectly. Steaming hot!! Picked them up & took them home for an extended family dinner. Really good

Great food but pricey

By Tim O |

I was invited by friends to eat here by some friends that I haven't seen in a while that were passing through the area. I really didn't know what to expect but I was told multiple times that this place was good. I arrived late so when I sat down I saw my buddies tearing into their dishes. They had ordered for me so my food was ready when I got there, I immediately joined them in digging in. I had snow crab and shrimps; the food was as good as advertised! There was no need to try to be neat as they give you the food in bags and you just dump the refuse in the middle of the table. I can see why this place is so highly regarded! Although it's not the cheapest place (about $30 per meal on average) the experience and food are worth writing about. Give this place a try but be sure to call in advance to reserve a seat or else you'll be waiting outside for a long time. Also, parking is somewhat limited.

Heaven

By Upset4real |

Loved, loved, loved the food! The seasonings were perfect! I can't wait to go back! The only downfall is the small dining area and the SUPER long wait! We were going to go on Friday evening but the wait was 3 hours, we had a huge group and chose another place. We planned ahead the next day but our wait was still over 2 hours on a Saturday evening. I see why people were willing to wait in the rain and cold weather for the food! It was soooo delicious!

Best food ever, if you can get in

By Robby W |

I love this place. I love the food. I love the atmosphere (after you get a table). The issue is getting a table. We usually end up having to wait a couple of hours if not longer to finally get a table. I am pretty sure you experience every possible emotion during that time (most of them bad). But, it's worth it in the end, I can't lie. Food is delicious here. Just wish there was more space. Next time we will try to hold off on lunch and just come in around 2 or 3 so we only have to wait about 45 minutes instead.

Great Experience!!

By Bran2002 |

We had been told that no matter what time of day you go you will be waiting 1 to 1.5 hours but we were also told that the wait will be worth it. VERY TRUE! When we were told it would be at least 1.5 hours before we were sat we decided to have a beer at a nearby Taco Cabana. We arrived just in time to be sat and proceeded to have the most amazingly fresh seafood in a very entertaining manner. I love the way you just dig in to the seafood and eat off the table. It reminded me of eating blue crabs in Maryland off the Chesapeake Bay. Only thing missing was a water view. We were with another couple and tried a bit of everything sans the fried stuff. All of it was very fresh and full of spice. The corn on the cob was amazing FYI!! We will be going back very soon!

Still the best

By Upset4real |

This place is so good. I have to go every time I'm in the area! Usually we call in the order and enjoy it at home because the wait to sit at the Resturant is so long. We don't have benefit to order more items like we would in the Resturant but it is definitely still the best by far.

Crabs and shrimp

By Don W |

Definitely worth the hour wait time. Snow crabs and shrimp are amazing. I suggest the “whole she-bang” sauce compliments the snow crabs well. Can’t wait to go back!

Come at 9pm if you don't want to wait !

By HCKM |

Came here after seeing the great reviews on yelp and realizing the BBQ joint I was originally planning to visit is closed on Sunday and the great. So glad we did. We arrived at about 8:45 and there was a short line. I was told about 30-40 mintues but we got in after 10 minutes. We came here for the seafood so that's what we ordered. Everything is by the pound and you get to choose the sauce / boil it's cooked in. They also ask you how spicy do you like your seafood. We got shrimps, crawfishs, king crab legs, snow crab legs in their "all dressed" boil - it's like a east meets west fusion with cajun style but adding ginger and garlic and chilly oil. Sodas come with unlimited refills and they actually come back to check on you often. Tools are provided which makes eating crab a lot easier (you will still make a big mess no matter what, no the kind of place to wear your expensive suede pants or silk shirt to). Check out the pics posted from others and you will know why table manner is not required.

Wear a bib!

Prepare to get messy! If it comes out of the ocean, these folks cook it cajun style and serve it in a bag full of whatever level of spice you can handle. Exceptionally fresh shrimp, all kinds of crabs, oysters, lobster, etc. Cold beer. I ordered peel and eat shrimp and some King crab legs. Sweet corn and red skin potatoes. Big shrimp and huge crab legs. I get mine very spicy and they were hot! So good. So messy. Prepare for a wait unless you come at 3:00 in the afternoon or wait uyntil after 8:30 or so in the evening.

Cajun at its best

By patrick h |

1st time trying this restaurant after hearing very good things from friends locally. We had the live. CRAWFISH shabang flavor, spicy hot with large shrimps including corns and potatoes. The flavoring was amazing. Having been in new orleans myself, this was by far the best if not better. The only negative thing was that during this time of the year we found a lot of smaller ones in the batch, but we cant blame the restautant for that. Overall, This was a great meal for our family vacation.

Messy and tasty!!!

By Fivestarmom |

This is one of my favorite, little secret restaraunts. It's a bit of a drive for most but so well worth it. You order your boiled seafoods and they bring you a bag of goodies to pile through. I would not attempt to eat here on a weekend. The lines can be VERY long.

Long wait and poor service, BEST flavor imaginable

By DonePayingForPoorQuality |

The wait is always long and the wait staff are minimally attentive or helpful. Prepare to wait for a minimum of an hour. Ask for 2 waters and 2 drinks of your choice because after you order the waiter/waitress won't be back. The whole shabang flavor on the crab and corn is WORTH THE WAIT. The whole shabang flavor is a carnival dancing on your tongue satisfying multiple flavor needs all at once... buy the snow crab, it is just as effective as the king crab for much less. Buy multiples of corn, I cannot emphasize this enough! The corn soaked in the whole shabang sauce could be my entire meal it is so amazing!!!

Pick your spice, Crabs and Crawfish

Fast service. Paper-tablecloth atmosphere. Crack your crabs and make a mess. Buckets of beer for your party of friends was good $.

Not Bad but I Expected Better

By steph718 |

First time eating here and probably my last. This was one of those "one and done" places in my opinion. It was simply okay. When we arrived there was somewhat of a line outside. We were advised that the wait was about an hour. We signed our names and left, came back and were seated shortly after. After being seated you're given a bib and a roll of paper towels. The food comes out in plastic bags full of seasoning. The service wasn't anything to rave about but the food was good for the most part. The raw oysters were good, the king crab legs and spicy craw fish were good as well, but the shrimp taste weird. I think it may have been old and/or spoiling. The whole shebang spice was great! It combines all the seasoning flavors and definitely had a kick to it. Had to ask the waitress numerous times for hot sauce for the oysters, she kept saying she would bring it but never did so I asked someone else. Also they forgot our shrimp order (I shouldn't have said anything about it since it wasn't good anyway). This place was kind of a disappointment. Heard such great things about it and it was simply OK. I would say go to this place if you want decent seafood and not so good service.

Excellent Food but 3 Hour Wait.

By charles l |

I always knew this place has a wait as I've eaten at several of their establishments in California where this chain originated. But the wait here is ridiculous. There were several locals there who mentioned that it's not as bad on the weekdays when you show up around 5 or 6pm. But the wait is ridiculous. I went on Friday night and showed up at around 7pm (their phone was constantly busy so I was not able to call a to-go order). The wait would be 3 hours (they close at 10pm). So I came back on Saturday at 5:30pm to get on the list. Their wait was quoted at 3 hours -- we went shopping at North Park mall about 30 minutes away. And sure enough it took all 3 hours. We didn't sit down until 8:30. And it took 30 minutes for the food to come out so we didn't down our 6 pounds of crawfish and 2 pounds of shrimp until 9pm. The food was excellent as always. But the crawfish was a bit on the small side perhaps because it is early in the crawfish season (generally their bigger towards the summer). We got the "Whole Shabang" mild spicy. We added some corn and potatoes to the mix (I remember they came with your meal in Houston and California) so I felt a little cheated.

How do I love thee, let me count the ways

By lindilou |

I met some friends here for lunch at their request. I am sooooo glad I went. This place has some of the best seafood I've ever eaten. I had fried shrimp and cajun fries. The shrimp were very good. The fries were very good, also. Great cocktail sauce. Jamey had the blue crabs and said they tasted great. Laverne had the fried oysters. She said they were delicious. She and I also tried Jamey's fried catfish. It was seasoned and fried just right. Not at all greasy. Debra had a boiling bag with crab, crawfish, shrimp and potatoes. She had the mild seasoning. Everything I tasted was fantastic!! I can't wait to go back. Get there early so you can get seated quickly. This place gets two thumbs up.

Messy and Awesome

By Bill H |

Ate way too much! The mixed sauces were fantastic. 2lbs of king crab legs, 2 lbs of queen, 1 lb of shrimp and softshell crabs to boot ... all with sweet tea. Three of us left and went onto a food coma.

Best Crawfish in a long time!

By MSB60 |

Their garlic seasoning is to die for - Outstanding flavor. Even at 5pm - there was a 2 hour wait. But let me say- it was worth it. We just got back from a week in Louisiana and I swear - this was better than any we had there. Must try it!

Seafood extraordinaire

By Henry C |

Truly a dining experience as well as a great meal. Absolutely no frills, just top of the line seafood. You must arrive at least an hour before you wish to eat under their first come first served format. One of the very few places which is worth the wait.

"The seafood is Fresh"

By pocahunter |

I live near the boiling crab which makes it convenient for me. The seafood is very fresh and tasty. Usually I order the Crab Legs and Corn. The Corn is sweet and is one of the best things they have. I order to go, you can take the bags home and heat it up again it tastes the same. Next time I will be bolder and order Medium Spicy as I have gotten used to the Non-Spicy.

Best Crab Ever

By Sheron M |

This is the very best place to get crab legs! The wait is long, however worth the wait. Your chouce in seasonings and level of spicyness. I love the whole chabang. Everyone goes for the crawfish also. Very casual and the staff is ALWAYS friendly!!

Small crowded plance

By zuribaye |

Overall the rating is very good, however, due the size of the restaurant the wait time can be extensive. Good is good.

Worth the Wait

By kofidoe |

IF you want the best seafood place in town, this is the place to go. Although be prepared to wait for about 1 hour before you are seated trust me it is worth the wait. The food is great and they bring it to you on time and fresh. Apart from the seafood, i think they have the best chicken tenders basket in town . The chicken wings are so good i can not find any adjective to describe it. The price are also reasonable.please try it.

It's worth the wait

By dezonme |

Ok I was mad about the 1 hour wait. But once I got my whole sha bang with my snow crabs, corn on the cob and red potatoes. I was Happy! Listen this is a must do, it is off the beaten path and is not a place you dress up to go too. It is VERY VERY VERY Messy! Yes so don't go in there getting upset because you got food on your clothes...it happens.

Order to go if you don't want to wait!

By Kristin B |

When we first drove by and saw the line we decided not to go. We had heard so many good things about this place, we decided to turn around and check it out. We ordered it to go, grabbed some extra paper/napkins and are at a local park. Yum!

TERRIBLE service Plus 18 % gratuity fue the worst service ever.

By 753sofia |

Terrible service and 18% gratuity de were told before being seated that will muy apply as we were 4 adults, 2 kids who just tried some of oye food, and we asked for 2 checks. The manager did not handle our complaint with adequate customer service.

Best rajun cajun seasoning!!!

By Melissa M |

If you want a taste of Louisiana the boiling crab is the place to go! The food is amazing!!! The season is just right! They have oysters, king crab legs, shrimp and crawfish, everything is delicious even their fries and corn on the cob! The only downfall is that if you don't get there right when they open you will be waiting for at least 2 hours but definately well worth the wait!

Cajun Seafood will never be the same!

By MokitosTravelbug |

This place was fantastic! Ups: 1. Flavor of the food is amazing!! Very authentic. 2. There is a very relaxed atmosphere, you actually eat with your hands and without a plate, they actually serve the food in bags and put it in the center of the table for people to share (what? I know right!). (This could be a down for some people I guess). 3. Crab legs are exquisite! 4. Food is sold by the pound so it's great for sharing with a group of people. Downs: 1. During the weekend the waiting list could be as long as 2-3 hours!! The second time we went, we tried to beat the crowds and got there before they opened and there was a line of two families already! Another time we went on a weekday and we were seated immediately. The wait is worth it though! If you are planning a trip to Dallas TX this place is a must!

Great crab and oysters!

By Hank512 |

I started off interviewing the young, lively and engaging staff to learn about menu reccomendations. They were very helpfull. I had a dozen on the halfshell that were served ice cold and were fresh and delicious. (Small size) make sure to get the "g" sauce. This is unique and created by the owner. This is a red chili/tomatoe/ lemon and black peppar concoction that goes well on everything! My entree was a pound of steamed snow crab "all the way" all of their spice options combined. Crab is served in a steaming bag, corn was very fresh and delicious. Crab was on point and i had fun chatting with the staff. I also ordered a cup of gumbo although i was full from the crab n oysters. The gumbo was made with the lightest rue i have ever seen but was delivious and full of fresh okra shrimp and saysage. I highly reccomend a cup of this to take home. This is a true hidden gem as described on trip adviser.

YUMMMMM!!

By debbe360 |

I truly love this place! we got in quickly on Friday afternoon. the food was wonderful! I would highly recommend this place! I go there every time I am in dallas...

Worth the wait

By caballomentirozo |

You will have to wait to go to this place but its worth the wait. I suggest calling ahead or buckling up for a wait. The menu is simple and season prices are listed on the wall. Shebang as the sauce medium is what we got and it was perfect. Spent 42 as a couples meal and got 1lb crawfish, shrimp, snow crab and sweet potato fries that was allot of food and all good an fresh.

Lived up to the reputation

By blu817 |

This was the second restaurant I did a food taste for crawfish. It surely lived up to its reputation as being awesome. There was only two of us and we ordered 3 lbs of crawfish and 1 lb of snow crab which was about enough. The sauce we chose was the whole shabang seasoning. The other reputation for this place is the wait. We showed up 40 mins before opening and we were 10th in line. I've heard you can wait for up to two hours. Service was awesome. I would eat here again but if the wait is longer than 30 mins I'm headed to tasty tails.

Love their crawfish boil

By Drun |

Let me start with the wait time!!! You have to get to the restaurant, put your name down and get ready to wait for over 2 hours. I've personally waited for 3 hours and 15 mins to get in. Is it really worth the wait? Hell ya! I always order the crawfish boil whole sha-bang medium. Tried it spicy once but it ruins the tastebuds after a while. They serve beer and soda to keep you going as you twist, peel & suck ;) Their shrimp boil is great too but not nearly as the crawfish. Get the corn with the boil for that awesome flavor. I always ask for their Cajun seasoning on the side - it gives that needed kick in between bites. Going to Boiling Crab during the crawfish season is an annual ritual that will continue. If only they started taking reservations.... well, that will be a dream come true. Parking can get very tricky. There are times when no parking is available. We park across the road and when a spot opens up, move your car over. You have all the time before the meal to plan your parking strategy... lol.

Reallllly good foood and drinks

By MemphisLove2travel |

This was my 1st time at this establishment and boy was I well pleased. The season in that bags was Awesome! I got mild and it was a little spicy to me but it was worth it. We went on a Saturday evening and there was no wait at all. The drink for Happy Hour was reasonable and good.

Lord Have Mercy on Me

By Tina B |

This place is FANTASTICO! I ate so much in this place. It is a bit small but the food is large. Everything was tasty and wish we had one in my hometown. The prices are reasonable and the lines are long but worth the wait.

Great food

By NicoleVFR |

This is our go-to place for seafood in Dallas. The downside is that this place is ALWAYS busy! Unless you’re the first one in line when they open up, be ready to wait! The service is good as well as the food.

Great experience

By Run_ar0und |

This restaurant is locate in Garland, at a corner of a beat up shopping center. Lines are always long. Cajun seafood. Fresh shrimp, crunchy! Crabs are great, clams are yummy and fresh. Make sure you get the cajun fries over the regular fries. We always go there before they open and there is always a line 30mins before the restaurant open. If you don't get in your first wave, you will have to wait 2-3 hours.

Get ready to get dirty but you will love it!

By DPS27 |

Wow, which restaurant opens at 3pm on weekdays - you guessed it, The Boiling Crab, Dallas. Just a fyi.... After enjoying some delicious crawfish and shrimp boil in Las Vegas at Hot n Juicy Shrimp, my wife has been on the hunt for similiar. Lo and behold, I searched Yelp and come across The Boiling Crab. Started of with a lb of Shrimp (Cajun sauce and med. hot), lb of Crawfish (garlic butter sauce and med. hot), and a lb of Clams (the whole sha-bang sauce and med.). The shrimp was really good, crawfish good but lots of works for small rewards, and the clams were the best due to the sha-bang sauce. Medium spice level all for a really pleasant heat sensation without being too hot. Also, added some corn on the cob which came out with the crawfish and was a hit with all at the table. Ordered one more lb of shrimp with Cajun sauce but mild - still good but the better taste came from the med. spicyness level. Don't go with a shirt of clothing you don't mind getting a bit of sauce on because sooner or later due to the mind numbing spices or your buddy across the table peeling a crawfish, you will walk away with a stain and some great memories of eating with your fingers, a numb mouth, and still wanting more. The food is good and working to get to all those delicious morsels of shrimp and such is also part of the fun.

The owners' Southeast Texas roots shine through

By Greg C |

Tip #1: Go to this place. Tip #2: If you go after 6:00 p.m., plan on showing up to get your name on the list, then go to Alamo Drafthouse at Beltline and 75 for a couple of local brews, while you wait the 1-3 hours before your name is called on the list. If you aren't back on time, when you do get back, as long as it's reasonably soon after your name is called, they'll give you the next available table. Tip #4: The bib is not a gimmick. DO NOT PASS ON THE BIB. Tip #4: Order your boiled crustaceans or mollusks medium hot with "Whole Shebang" seasoning.. Tip #5: Keep the paper towel roll nearby at all times.

How do they do it?

By Danny F |

Amazing. This appears to be a little known secret and there is a wait to get in almost all the time I'm told. Our son took us here. We arrived an hour before they opened on Saturday and there were already 8 people in line. Some folks were sleeping in their SUV while family members waited in line. It's a hole in the wall. There is a Chinese market at the other end of the small retail facility it's in where you can buy whole cooked hog heads and whole cooked ducks among other things like intestines. The butcher who is probably the owner will chop it up anyway you like with his huge cleaver. Tanks filled with Live crabs and lobsters inside too! Anyway back to the boiling crab... The wait staff arrived as we waited. They have a lot of staff. Obviously they have had some criticism about the service but they were all great today. Excellent people working here today. We had all we wanted to eat and drink and yes it was a full house. They have steamed and fried seafood. Fries, potatoes, corn on the cob and gumbo etc. the seasoning they use is unique. We did the whole shabang medium. They bring the food in bags and you put what you want on the table cover in front of you. It's messy. No plates and no silverware. In the line out front was a diverse group of folks. I loved seeing it. Many different folks from all walks of life here together enjoying the great food with smiles and fun all around. What a great place. It's definitely a change of pace. Not for everyone I guess. Only cheerful and open minded folks would like this I guess. Try something new and different and go see them. We really enjoyed our lunch time here.

Good Food, Ridculous Wait Time!

By Precious89 |

A friend and I arrived at the ONLY Boiling Crab in the DFW area at 5 pm and the line was a sight to behold. There were 30 people outside and more crammed inside the doors of the restaurant waiting to get seated. The hostess told us that there was a 4 hour wait. Four hours?! We put our names on the wait list, and left to go to a mall down the street. After two hours, we went back to the restaurant for her to say the wait was three hours. Finally, my friend suggested we order to-go. There is a wait list for to-go. We put her names on the list. We got our orders within 30 minutes. I stuck it out because my friend had eaten at Boiling Crab several times and always mentioned how good the food is. The food was a delicious, seafood mess in a bag. I ordered a 1lb. of shrimp (heads are on), corn, and 1/2 lb. of sausage. I had enough food left over for two days. I figure it doesn't matter what time you arrive at this restaurant, you must be in a good mood to wait for more than two hours, otherwise go somewhere else to eat. BTW, parking is minimal as the restaurant is located in a strip shopping center. I would give the restaurant a VERY GOOD rating if parking and waiting weren't an issue.

Bday celebration

By kawasakijean |

Even though my birday is Aug 28th, I was still celebrating my bday, good food, it was a Friday nite it was 30-45min wait for table ( it was around 8pm )but was so worth it. Yummmmm

Long Wait Time But Worth It!

By MelonyMJones |

The place is not that appealing on the outside! I actually passed right by it. Once I got there was a hour wait. I didn't want to wait that long but figured the food had to be good if the wait was so long. Once we go seated the waitress was very nice and the food came out right away. You can get the food flavored to fit your taste. It was delicious! I love this place I try to go as much as my pockets let me. Enjoy!

It's Worth It!

By Tim D |

Don't let the reports of long waits scare you away from this unique dining experience. We just put our name in the list, then spent the majority of the time shopping in a nearby area. Another tip is to pick up a to go menu from inside and decide what you want in advance. Thankfully after a long wait, the orders come out surprisingly quickly and the servers do a good job keeping the drinks full, too. There is wax paper on the tables, orders are brought out in a bucket, then a big plastic bag is placed in front of you, with your choice of seafood, corn, potatoes, and sausage just swimming in one of their unbelievable sauces. The sauce choices are Ragin Cajun, Garlic Butter, and Lemon Pepper, but the real star of the show is a mix of all three called The Whole Sha-Bang. No eating utensils are provided, so be prepared to get messy, but just dive right in with your hands and after the first bite you will forget all about about the mess. A provided bib helps keep it off of your clothes and an entire roll of paper towels on the table helps mop things up as you go. The table might look like a disaster area when you are done, but you will be feeling completely satisfied by one of the most delicious and unique meals you have ever had. When you are finally ready to leave, don't be surprised if a few people in the line outside ask a certain question as you go by. You will undoubtedly answer with a resounding, "Oh yes, it's definitely worth it!!!"

Actually lived up to the hype! Get there early.

By Robert C |

We got there 20 minutes before opening on a Sunday and got seated right away. By the time we left at about 1 pm, there were over 40 groups on the waitlist. The food is worth the wait though regardless. We got Cajun fries, corn, and shrimp with whole sha bang and medium. Absolutely phenomenal and the prices were very reasonable. Everything we got was amazing. We will be taking all our visitors in the future to the boiling crab to experience this restaurant.

ITS A MUST!

By Melissa M |

If you love cajun seafood and are in the area, you MUST go to boiling crab. They have crawfish, crab and shrimp sold by the pound and to your liking. I had the whole sha-bang medium and it was just right, not too spicy. The only negative is the wait! OMG! No matter the time or day, there is always a wait of at least 45 mins. but so worth it.

Food was Yummy!!

By Bertha J |

The food was seasoned so good! The seasoning on the crab legs soaked down into the meat making it that more enjoyable. The portions were adequate for the cost and everyone left with full bellies. We will defiantly be coming back here, it was worth the 40 minute drive one way!

Good food/Poor host

By Jimmy |

When visiting keep in mind that you may have to wait a while if you come in a group smaller than 3 or if you are not a good looking girl. My waiting time initially was told :45-60 then it turn into 2:30 as we kept seeing larger groups and good looking individuals clearly sitting way before us. We are not individuals who complaint much but this was a poor experience. The waitress we had was great though. The whole eating experience was good too as my daughter enjoyed seeing her parents be messy eaters for once. Really hope in the future they have better seating arrangements.

Good Food but long waiting!

By Yoga C |

It was very long wait for us. They take reservation and write it on a piece of paper and sometime they can't find it. The wait is any where from 2-5 hours. I recommend going there early and give your name and do what ever you have to do and go back. The food was really good and it was worth the wait. No utensils are provided and you have to eat with your fingers. The sauce is very flavorful and spicy.

I Wish I Could Eat Here Everyday

By Sylvia D |

The wait was not as long as I expected after reading reviews on several sites. The shrimp were well seasoned and JUICY ! The room is tight, but the flavor of the food makes you forgot how tight the quarters are.

I would say it is very impressive seafood!

By HKchicken |

I took my sister, niece and her husband to The Boiling Crab for the very first time. They are from MN so I am thinking taking them to a seafood restaurant in TX will be appropriate. We went there at 5:30pm. We only saw a coupon sitting at the wait area so I thought we would be seated right away. However, when we asked the hostess, she said it would be a 45 minutes wait. We were not surprised because I have heard people have to wait at least 2 hours sometimes! So we decided to walk around to get a drink or something somewhere close by. First of all, just to warn you, if you have never been to that side of the town, please don't walk around in that strip mall. it is pretty scary. Especially when we saw some guys wearing baggy jeans all the way down and we thought they had soiled their diapers or something! Anyhow, after waiting for 30 minutes, we got our table. The wait was not as bad as the hostess said. Some they sat us down and started putting their bibs on us. It was a fun experience! We ordered crawl fish, king, dungeness crabs, shrimp and claims. We found the Claims to be the best, best in taste because they were huge. They were easy to eat and "huge" I mean like half of my palm size. The crawl fish were on the small side because they were not in season. We tried both the spicy and garlic flavors and we all loved the garlic flavor on our seafood. Overall, everything was fresh and delicious. Their service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend this place to people who love seafood!

The Boiling Crab not just a meal but an experience!

By Darla D |

The Boiling Crab in Dallas Texas is the best meal in a bag that money can buy.The shrimp, corn on the cob and potatoes in the "whole shebang sauce" is all that..sweet potato fries delicious! Go early!

Addicting

By salgoud42 |

Love this place! I went on a Saturday a little after 1PM. There was a line around the building. Parking is scarce due to other restaurants. Please make sure you read the signs, because they will tow your vehicle. I waited over 3 hours to be seated. A nice lady and her daughter invited me to eat with them. It was so delicious that words cannot describe the heavenly experience. I was told to get the whole shebang, and I am so glad I did. I got medium, and it was a little too warm for me. On the next visit, I had the mild and it was just right.

Catfish!!

By Telencia H |

Yes, I went to a restaurant named "Boiling Crab" and ordered fish! However it was amazing. Very fresh, seasoned perfectly, and thick fluffy fried fish. Would definitely recommend this location to friends.

Seafood Restaurant

By Malimak |

If you like crabs, shrimp, or crawdads, you are in for a treat! This is THE BEST place I have ever eaten crabs at, and I am from South Florida. I won't even order crabs in Florida anymore, I wait to come back to Dallas. They are always perfectly cooked and absolutely scrumptious! The only drawback is the wait, but believe me it is SOO WORTH IT! I would wait three hours ONLY at THE BOILING CRAB. I usually get a Dungeness crab, snow crab legs, and a lb. of shrimp. They come in a mixture of garlic butter, lemon pepper; and Cajun spices. They will absolutely make your eyes roll in the back of your head. When in Dallas, go to The Boiling Crab. Your welcome!😍😜😎

Awesome place!

By Brian B |

My girlfriend surprised me by taking me here, because she knows I love cajun food and seafood. I loved this surprise. Heads up: It's in a "rough" area, for lack of a better word. But everyone was nice, doors held open for us, etc, so no worries. We started with fried calamari that was cooked perfectly. Not rubbery at all, it was soft and the sauce had an Asian flare to it. Really good! Ordered a pound of boiled shrimp with medium spice to it. I like spicy stuff, this may have been just a touch too spicy to enjoy, but I was still VERY pleased. It was fun and delicious, it was all served in a clear plastic bag. We had 4 pieces of corn, and 2 orders of the potatoes (3 new potatoes per order). Price came out to $28. We drank water, shrimp $11 per lb., calamari was $9 I think. Service wasn't great, but was not terrible by any means. Kept our waters topped off pretty well. From what I hear this place gets CRAZY BUSY during crawfish season. This was not crawfish season for us, so showing up at 6:15pm on a Friday night got us a seat immediately, though there was a wait when we left of what looked like 10 people or so. Overall, loved it and would recommend it to any cajun/seafood fans.

The Whole Shabang Shrimp!!!

By uaaes |

Order it mild, medium, or hot, order shrimp, crawfish, crab legs, or blue crab, BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS ordering your seafood with their Whole Shabang Sauce. It's garlicy, lime, buttery, and mouth-watering (I can't guess quite right what all is in it). Be prepared to wait in line during peak hours and have to drive a little off the beaten path in Dallas to get there...but worth it. As you eat your seafood, dig around to the bottom of your bag and dip it in your Whole Shabang Sauce, yum! Potatoes are good, corn is good too but will get firey hot if you get anything more than the mild.

Really good food

By ShyoneChicago |

The seafood at this location is top quality. I have never eaten "out of a bag" but the experience is something I will never forget.

Great Time. Delicious Crablegs

By Natalie L |

Food was awesome. Services was amazing! It's a little pricey, but worth it. Crab legs are prepared in a bag with seasoning, corn, and potatoes. Catfish was also great. I recommend going on a weekday or arriving early on Saturday this place gets packed.

Mouth watering!!!

By Melissa M |

♥ this place!! The seasoning they use is delish!! The place is always packed but it is definitely worth the wait and drive out there!! !!

Worth the wait

By murielk550 |

People from London who recommend this place were not kidding. My mum and I went on a Friday evening so it was busy with a 45min wait. We were seated at a booth and both ordered water and upon recommendation as first timers Cajun fries, shrimp, crawfish, potatoes, corn and sausages which we shared. Everything was absolutely delectable and filling. It was a burst of garlicky and seasoned flavours which was yummy with each bite. The total bill for 2 of us came to a little over $40. I highly recommend everyone try it at-least once and if you don’t opt for the shrimp or crawfish, try the southern crab legs and make sure to get the whole shabang in terms of flavour, you won’t regret it!

The only bad thing about reviewing this place is that you might go there and order the Crawfish... which means less for me!

By us2travellin |

Short and sweet: it ain't quite n'awlins but it's the best mudbygs in DFW!

Best Crawfish in Dallas!

By HollyTravels365 |

I cannot say enough about this place. There is always a wait- day and night. But it's worth it. Expect minimum 30 minutes but it could be as long as an hour and a half. DONT LEAVE. Get everything you can and be prepared to get dirty. For the sauce ask for the Whole SheBang. Great for big groups. Very very causal and laid back. Atmosphere is that of a dive bar!

I can’t wait to go back

By Lauren E |

What a treat for my taste buds! The whole shebang delivered some strong flavors I can’t wait to have it again. I’m also happy the crawfish were fresh in season. I’ve heard horror stories about the wait times but we went during the week around 7pm and only waited 25 minutes or so. The reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 is the bathroom, it leaves a lot to be desired. This is a place where you eat with you hands and the bathroom is not at all conducive to cleanliness. It’s a single bathroom with a door knob and lock you have to turn. The hand soap and sink are manual which means more touching. It would be nice to walk in and wash my hands without waiting in the line or having to turn the knob with my freshly washed hands. If they’re so popular maybe changing to a larger location would be best for the wait times as well as a better bathroom situation.

The best shrimp boil we've ever had!

By Jay G |

All I can say is "WOW"! We arrived and were immediately seated at a great table by a friendly host. The server came over right away and took our drink orders. I had a michilada as I had recently had one on a trip to Cabo. It was just as good. I had not been to a crab boil restaurant in a long while so I forgot how good it would be, but the shrimp boil with the whole shabang sauce was insanely good! We all ate too much and enjoyed every minute of it. (although our hands did get pretty messy, but it was well worth it!

Utensil Free Place

This is a hole in the wall spot, however, don't let the appearance fool you. The food was good, but do expect to eat with your hands. They don't use plates here either. When you order crab legs they bring it out in a big bag. I had the fried catfish with french fries so it came in a basket. The seasoning I chose which was the mild was a little bland. I would go back here again, but try another seasoning. I also, seen comedian D. L. Hughely in there too.

A Different Food Experience

By James B |

I heard about this place and tried it. There was a 2 hour wait and you can't call orders in (so I heard). The place is different! You eat with your hands and they deliver your food in a plastic-like bag. The place smells of good seafood although I had lemon peppered chicken fingers with fries. I did taste the sausage and though spicy, it was good. If you like seafood and getting food on your clothes, this is the place to try!

Crawfish Fest

Have not actually sat down in this restaurant but have bought crawfish to go. This year 35 lbs of it! Cooked to perfection with lots of good spice. Menu is vast. Will definitely go back to dine!

BEST DAMN CRAB LEGS EVER.

By Jeff M |

The cajun style crabe legs here are amazing. I love the spices they use. The food is pricy but worth it. Def come back here in the future.

Best

The best spot for crawfish when in season. Hands down the best flavor. Love the crabs and shrimp too.

The Whole She-bang

Always on point. We order the triple X heat level as we enjoy it spicy. The only reason i am not giving 5 is the wait and wait and wait, but worth it.

Messy, fun, delicious

By Chloeewill |

If you love seafood and don't mind getting messy, this is the place! The crab legs and peel and eat shrimp were great! It was fun being able to dump my boil right on the table. The laid back atmosphere was great for hanging with friends and enjoying some yummy seafood. A must experience for seafood lovers!

Excellent food and service

By Donovan O |

The place is usually packed, but the service is really good. The food comes quick. It can get messy so be prepared. It is expensive, but that could be because since covid all seafood items got more expensive.

Outstanding

Excellent seafood, some of the best In Dallas at any price. Super good and excellent service, only problem you have to wait to get in as it was very crowded. Very friendly staff. Well worth the wait.

Seafood slurpy goodness!

Waited for an hour on a Friday night to get seated. Parking lot was small. But it was still worth the wait. Ordered oyster (yum!) and 2-lb. crawfish with the whole shebang sauce. Got the medium level of spicyness and it was perfect for me. Ate half of the crawfish at the location and the other half at home which was spicier since it was able to marinate overnight. The seasoned seafood is served in a clear bag. Loved the laid-back shack-like ambience with families and groups of friends dining there. Service was quick, too. The whole table was covered in plastic for easier eating and clean-up. You get a plastic bib and a roll of paper towel to help you be less messier. Website says they close at 10pm but at 9:30pm, there were still people waiting to be seated and the server was asking for last orders. We'll definitely be back!

Go for Dinner instead of Lunch

By maiaradh2293 |

For some reason, the dinner always is better than the lunch in terms of the sauce mixtures, and how well the seafood gets cooked

Nice Place

Something different, but good taste. We had Shrimp (with corn) and crab legs and turned out very good. You need to go there early around 1 hr wait time.

Very good seafood

By greggtex |

Good taste but a few more spices would've helped. Cooked too much, or not enough, because we had tough time peeling shrimp/crawfish. Music....seriously, not client oriented. Very cultural and not fitting for the restaurant. Linda was great! Very sweet.

Worth the wait!

I was in a party of 6. When we got there on a Sun. at opening time (12:00) there was already a line half a block long! We were told when we finally got in to put our name in that it would be close to 2 hr.s. I did not want to wait but everyone else said they heard it would be worth it. We got in just under 2 hr.s. All the service help were very nice and helpful. I ordered a calamari appetizer. It was not bad, but not amazing either. It was all rings. No shoots or figure ends. You sit at the table that is covered with paper. All your scrapes, shells, and everything else you just throw on the table. Its a fun experience. You feel like your on the East coast, or in Cajun country. When you order, it comes by the pound on the shrimp, snow crab, king crab, and crawfish. Oysters only come raw. No fried or broiled. Fries ( plain or Cajun), new red potatoes, corn on the cobb are all excellent but are an extra charge. You can get different spices, and different levels of spicy. I tasted the king crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn, catfish, and chicken strips. All were excellent. It was a very fun time. And yes, I would say it WAS worth the wait.
