Great Italian Food

By Hcd711 |

I was in town for training and I stayed at the Residence Inn a block away from The Bootlegger. Every driver I had during my stay raved about the food at The Bootlegger. They weren't wrong. Great food at a great value. If you love pasta, I would recommend seeking out this restaurant even if not staying on the strip!

Amazing meal!

By Joy H |

Our new favorite Las Vegas restaurant. Everything was fantastic. Portion sizes are huge so we had leftovers. For appetizer we had stuffed mushrooms in cream sauce. My husband had the chicken parm and I had fish. The decor is old school Vegas with dark wood and red walls and piano player in the next room. Love this place!

Wow!

By Mike T |

This was an amazing experience! Being from an Italian/Sicilian family I truly appreciate the authentic food and drinks! Can’t wait to return!!

Fantastic old school Italian

By Craig B |

From what we saw - Everything that came out of that kitchen was really good. We enjoyed everything we got. The table appetizer with ravioli, calamari and prawns was wonderful. Veil scaloppini was wonderful. 16 oz NY strip was really good. Italian Bolognese was really nice. This is old school Italian dining and we thought it was wonderful.

I’m not a big fan of Italian

By lcpotes |

I’m not a big fan of Italian but enjoy Bootleggers lunch special and authentic Italian cuisine. When we were there for lunch I overheard a couple celebrating their 45th anniversary and they would always go to Bootlegger; fortunately due to Covid the restaurant opened just in time for their celebration. I enjoy their lasagna and we were celebrating my son passing his permit test; waiter was nice and allowed him to order the Scampi off of the dinner menu. We really appreciated that ! I recommend you check them out if you are near S Las Vegas Blvd bear Simons Outlet mall (Ex-Belz Factory and LV South Outlet).

Finally great service

By tammi b |

The food and service were exceptional, surpassing our expectations from a previous visit over a year ago. Nicole H, the bartender, was fantastic! Her food recommendations were spot-on. The manicotti was delicious, and the ossobuco was outstanding. Nicole's excellent service made our dining experience unforgettable and will definitely bring us back.

Sometimes a to go order it’s just not the same as the ambience of eating inside the actual restaurant.

By Jedimasterkush |

I am not ashamed to say that I am a believer in wearing a mask and social distancing during these times. With that being said I still find myself on the weekend looking to get a to go order from what looks to be a reputable restaurant. The bootlegger has great reviews on TripAdvisor and the trip community has and teed up some great pictures from their experiences at the bootlegger. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and an order of garlic bread. The fettuccine was cooked to perfection but the meal in a hole was a little dry and could’ve used a little more sauce. This could’ve been because of taking it home and heating it up. The garlic bread was cut in slices, generally I prefer my garlic bread cut down the middle of the loaf. Also there was no seeable pieces of garlic and or anything else on the bread. It really look like they just slap some butter and garlic powder or garlic salt on it. That was a little bit of a disappointment. I will definitely try them again some day when this whole Covid thing goes away and I can sit down comfortably in a restaurant again. Until then next time I will ask for a little extra Alfredo sauce. You should give them a try all in all not bad. Also the staff member that helped us in the to go area around back was very helpful and friendly.

Very Disappointing

By roma2srs |

We are locals and a few of my friends and myself decided to do something different and visit The Bootlegger. I was here years ago and it was really good but it has gone downhill. Even for a tourist restaurant the prices were ridiculous - $30 for chicken pamagiana which came out with a blob of cheese just laid on the top of the cutlet not even melted so I had to send it back. When it came back it was better. I have to say the best part were the little garlic squares. I remember performers coming to the restaurant to entertain but now there is only a piano player (he was good) but there are many places that have a piano player. I think there is one night where performers entertain and that is late one night. Would not return here again.

Best Italian Restaurant on Vegas

By Lori A |

When we are in Vegas we always go to Bootleggers . It is off the strip so you need to take an Uber. We started with the calamari and a shrimp cocktail - small garlic bread is on the table with sauce - I could just eat that! For our main meal we both had the seafood fra diavolo - shrimp, mussels, clams and calamari in a spicey sauce over pasta. So good. No room for dessert. Service is excellent . They have a large menu to pick from. Make a reservation on line.

see you on sunday

Great Dinner, great service. Had the chicken alfredo and it was amazing. Enjoyed seeing all the celebrities that have been there in their own booth.

Bootlegger Service and Food Quality during COVID-19 and after

By Kerri Shannon Fitzgerald |

We are locals in Henderson, NV about 8 miles East of The Bootlegger on the South Strip. This well-run establishment is a GO-TO treasure for locals who know consistently great food from the local restaurant environ. As a 45-yr resident of Las Vegas I can tell you that if you want delicious Italian food, Mama/Nona-inspired cuisine, please don't waste your time in looking further than this great place. This is not a "joint". My dad was the GM for the Vineyard Restaurant at the Boulevard Mall back in the day from opening in mid-70's and ran it successfully for several years and he always praised the Bootlegger as our spot for my family to go and get some "amazing, home-cooked Italian food that doesn't come from our kitchen so I can rest!" The quality has not succumbed to time - the service is spot-on, and the dishes are always prepared and delivered with polish. That includes pickup and delivery which we found kept us alive for many months during Covid-19 issues. Class act all around but more importantly, the same great taste and flavors that made Bootlegger the ICON it is in Las Vegas. For those 2-star and 3-star folks talking about a decline in quality during the most difficult restaurant survival year in history - I respectfully say I have not had that experience for more than 50 purchases over the last troubled year - not only for parties of two to parties of 10 (after VAX) - and all was delicious and money well spent. Never change Bootlegger - Las Vegas locals love you and can't wait to listen to the music in the main dining room we see booked already! Blues/Jazz and Standards talents make us happy as you know!!! Can't wait to get back to the norm!!

Magnificent Caprese salad

By elizabeth h |

This Italian restaurant was quite a wonderful hidden treasure. They have by far one of the best Caprese salads that you can upgrade the cheese to burrata …to die for. You want amazing Italian cuisine for excellent value. This is the place you need to come to.

Very good to great food and service

By Peter K |

We had dinner here on Sept. 8, 2025. We thought the food was very good (Pollo griglia) to excellent ( eggplant parm.). The lemon cake dessert was great. The service was very good, friendly and efficient. We would recommend eating here and will be back.

LOVE this place

By nina h |

It was my birthday and my husband wanted to take me to a new local place. This place did not disappoint. First off it has a great old time feel w/ pictures of Vegas alumni and an Italian flair. We went a little early so didn't get to hear the piano player but noticed a big beautiful piano in the corner, we will have to go back another time to enjoy that aspect. Mark was our server and he is AMAZING! Great at his job w/ laughter and recommendations and oustanding service. The food was top notch, a great variety of Italian mouth watering selections with a great cocktail list to boot. We ended up getting the calamari to start ... oh wait first this bread arrives, all you can eat but don't b/c you will fill up! it is little garlic pieces that are mouth watering! Calamari light breading w/ a divine taste and delicious dipping sauce. I got the chicken parmigiana which was HUGE! There was no way that I could eat it all but it was so yummy. Hubby ordered the seafood a diabla and couldn't stop commenting on how good it was. The bowl was massive and filled but he managed to finish it all :) Since it was my birthday they delivered a canolli to our table on a plate with happy birthday written in chocolate and a candle :) it was a perfect touch to a great evening. WE WILL BE BACK

The Staff at the Baymont highly recommended this restaurant. After eating here I understand why! Great food and the service was exceptional!

Bootlegger Italian Bistro

By bonnie b |

We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Bootlegger Italian Bistro last week. The atmosphere was authentic Italian. The lasagna was delicious and the tiramisu was amazing. Our waitress, Lynette B was top notched! We would definitely return.

Don't Understand all the good reviews!

By Jan B |

This is our third visit to this Las Vegas staple after saying we wouldn't go back again! This time...this is the last!!! For sure! The old school atmosphere is nice, but then there is the old musty moldy smell!!! The food is overpriced and so/so..nothing fabulous and doesn't include salad or soup...a small sized serving and a few garlic rolls. The service is good but the server we had was in a hurry to get rid of us and was very condescending...friendly to a point but rude. The piano playing was truly old school and so loud we couldn't carry on a conversation...Won't be back for sure!!!! Overpriced Italian...not at it's best!

Looking for something away from the strip

By Anthony |

I had a meal a couple of days before at The Home Stead Steak House at Caesars and had a very average dinner .I had read about the Bootlegger Bistro as a restaraunt worth visiting. One of the best decisions I've made since visiting Las Vegas. I had a excellent Osso Buco dinner. .The prices are very reasonable and the restaraunt has the old Vegas atmosphere. .The garlic bread comes in small squares with a good size portion of marinara sauce that is very tasty and excellent I had sauteed mushrooms and mashed potatoes with Lemon drop cheesecake closer. I was celebrating my 73rd birthday and I had a Happy Birthday writen on my plate when it arrived at my table. This will be a must visit each time I'm in Las Vegas. Its located approx. 5mi past the Mandalay Bay and Luxor outside of the Vegas strip. There's a bar inside and piano music for a nice ambiance .Reservations are requested but walkins are welcome and if not to crowded you may be served.

Be careful. Great food, but a little pricey

By Brad R |

Went to this place based on a recommendation. Was very busy for dinner. Reservation recommended. I was forewarned that might be the case. Decided to eat at the bar. It was there I encountered Jason the bartender. Beware he makes great drinks and no pressure. You end up eating and drinking more just because he is so nice. I decided on the spaghetti and meatballs made with angel hair. Arrived very quickly and it was excellent. Had cheesecake for dessert. It was also a good choice. Of course I may have been biased by Jason’s awesome Milano Mules. Beware, they were strong!

Outstanding Italian cuisine

By Sue C. |

My husband and I love to stop and dine at bootleggers whenever we visit Las Vegas. The food is always fresh arrives quickly and the service is excellent. There was always Live music playing But that just adds to the ambience. Bootlegger remind you of an old fashion speakeasy and has been around for many decades. There is definitely a locals vibe here. I would highly recommend reservations as they get very busy even during the week. On this occasion I had the Scaloppine di Vitelli piccata style which arrived quickly and was tender & very tasty. My husband had Pappardelle Bolognese which was also very fresh and tasty. For our appetizer we had Buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes.

Excellent Meal!

By JERRY R |

Stopped in on a Tuesday night! People were waiting inside & outside for a table to open up but being solo I elected to sit at one of the only seats open at the bar. I ordered pasta with Bolognese and was very happy with my meal!

Subpar food; Great music

By Pmauro868 |

The hostess was very short and somewhat rude even though my husband and I had a reservation. First impressions should be warm and welcoming. They don’t serve Italian bread, instead you get a plate of cooled dough balls (bites) with gravy (marinara); again, not very impressive. Perhaps they were supposed to be garlic bites, but didn’t pick up on the garlic at all. Entrees were not impressive; carbonara was just ok as was the clam sauce; we didn’t bother with dessert. Waiter took drink and food order and then zipped by when food was brought out to ask if we wanted grated cheese on top. Didn’t check in again; we had to flag him down twice to order more drinks from the bar and then again to get the check. The music, on the other hand, was excellent. Pianist looked like he enjoyed what he was doing and played music from multiple genres. Both my husband and I are east coast Italians and expected better.

An Institution

By mauiwolf |

The restaurant has been around since 1955. All the old school Vegas entertainers have eaten here. It’s an institution. But I think it’s surviving on its reputation and not on it being a top-notch Italian restaurant. The food that hit our table was all average at best. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t like eating at Scarpetta or one of the other top-tier Italian restaurants in town. It was more on par with Buca Di Beppo. The service was good. Everyone was attentive and did their jobs. The atmosphere was just okay. There was a guy in the background playing the piano and singing but I barely knew he was there. Since this is on the opposite side of town from me I probably won’t go back.

Italian restaurant with good quality and quantity in its portions

By Yaya |

Comfortable Italian restaurant with pleasant decoration, excellent dishes, well served, good portions, I recommend the pasta, particularly the lasagna. It is close to an outlet so you can go shopping afterwards and the staff is very attentive

Great Food

By David-Vero |

I ate here (to go) since the place shared a parking lot with my hotel. I got the lasagna and thought it was great. Full of meat and the sauce was real good. No side dishes with it so I got a cannoli for dessert. Among the best Italian I've had, outside of Italy!

Sumptuous experience

A gorgeous end to our wedding renewal day. Gorgeous rich food and lovely staff. Great ambience and beautiful live music

Great Italian Food in the old world style!

By Ghostrainchaser |

Great Italian Food in the old world style! That is true of the food, decor and service! The Caesar salad was large enough for my wife and I to split. The Rigatoni Pasta Sausage and Parmigiana Eggplant were absolutely devious. My wife is Italian and she said it was if she was sitting in her mothers kitchen with her mother and grandmother cooking Sunday Dinner. You could smell the delicious aromas as you entered the front doors. We loved the high-backed leather booths and and hardwood walls. Great for a romantic dinner or any excuse to have good food! The service by all the staff was impeccable. They are a true family owned and operated establishment.

Good old fashion Italian food

By Lyssa88 |

Well, I’m so glad we had reservations! We went on a Monday night! Yes Monday! Very old school Italian restaurant, most of the staff have been there for 10 years plus! Speaks volumes on this family owned restaurant. The sauce was good not too acidic! I had the lasagna and I could tell that the pasta is made right there! Great wine list! Husband had sausage and peppers they were great! Cannolis were totally homemade and delish

Double celebration dinner.

By hutchy013 |

We have bootleggers recommended to us by our Uber driver, best recommendation we had. We booked a table for our join celebration it was my daughter’s birthday and my wife and my wedding anniversary. The staff were amazing, we arrived slightly early but the staff managed to accommodate us. The waiting staff were all very pleasant and talked to us about the restaurant and the history which was lovely to hear. The food was quick and all arrived as ordered. We ate until we couldn’t eat anymore and then were presented with a wee present for our celebrations which topped off a great night. Thank you to the Bootleggers for a lovely meal and great atmosphere.

A Vegas institution - you have to try once.

By Sergio1954 |

This was our first time to this restaurant. Our reservation was honored promptly. The place is large and has a large bar area. It smelled wonderful just walking in. The atmosphere is not brightly lit, which gives a nice feeling. The place was very busy, but our waitress was very prompt and explained any questions we had. My husband had the veal scallopini, it was good, but not very much of it. I had the prawns in herb butter sauce. That was also very good. Prices are reasonable and the menu is extensive. Pasta, fish, chicken, steaks. Lots of appetizers. Didnt look at the desert menu, but I'm sure it was wonderful. A great family place. Would recommend for a nice casual meal.

A “Must Go To” when in Vegas !

By Debbie |

Fantastic food , drinks and desserts ! A go to when we visit Las Vegas every time - they never disappoint ! Entertainment is always good too !

Great Food, Nice Staff!

By Chris B |

We had a great dinner here! We were starving after a long day and didnt have reservations yet they were still able to fit us in on a busy night. Our waiter was super friendly and the food was amazing. They did an excellent job with masking and social distancing. Would eat here again!

Dinner at Bootleggers

By COJOWisconsin |

We frequent Vegas 2-3 times a year and this was well worth a trip off the strip for dinner. Kodie K took great care of us and even explained a drink to the bartender to make that wasn’t on their menu. Although a lot of the reviews rave about the garlic knots with marinara, we found them to be average. Our caprese needed more oil and balsamic and it took awhile to get Kodie over to request these but he did have a lot of tables. Our main entrees were quite tasty- bolognese papperdelle and lasagna. Couldn’t recommend them enough but their menu is extensive so there are many choices. We indulged in the Italian cream cake dessert even tho we were full and didn’t regret it. It was the perfect amount of lemon and the cake itself was light. We went on a Sunday and they had a man playing the piano and singing that we enjoyed- as well as the celebrity pictures on the walls. This place has outstanding ambiance, food and service- Go!

friends treated

By Wayne F |

We had been in Vegas most of a week and had not had an Italian meal yet. Usually try something different each trip. and this trip no exception for us. We were returning from South Point casino and our friends highly recommended Bootlegger restaurant for our dinner. Name and location and outside appearance was deceptive, I thought it was just some kind of common strip mall chain. Once inside I realized it was a legit Italian establishment. Great atmosphere, impeccable service, and delicious meal. Servings are generous to say the least, none of us able to finish our meal.

Nice dinner

By LostInTime |

The garlic knots were really good. I ordered the pasta pomadora. It had more marinara sauce than a slash as it said on the menu, but it was good. The server was quite nice and the service was fast. The decor is cool.

Reputation does not match value

By Raj P |

Price and quality do not measure up to its perceived reputation of four plus decades. The food was served somewhat cold...ok in taste but nothing special. Our friends liked the steak and other chicken dishes. Service was ok but busy iterating family history which is impressive but has to match up with today's value. The place was too crowded and noisy and not for a quiet cozy dinner. Too many other options to check out in Vegas.

Courteous staff, delicious food!

By Nadine Y |

My daughter arrived not feeling well, so we decided to order to go. Everyone was so thoughtful, and got out order prepared quickly, and with such care and kindness. The food was delicious!

Really solid Italian South of the Strip

By Tim T |

I was staying at the Worldmark on South Las Vegas Blvd as I have from time to time for about the last 4-5 years - have passed it on many occasions but told myself that on this trip, I would be sure to hit it for dinner...I was glad I stuck to that, it was excellent. I had the Minestrone which I would put up against just about any I can remember and then for dinner I had their version of the Cioppino which was served with Linguine pasta - it was excellent. I was able to walk in and get seated but the place was pretty busy on a Wednesday night in August. Will for sure be back

Quality and Quantity

By Rick D |

Delicious Italian food. Portion sizes were very big, as were most of the prices, but you get what you pay for and we had no problem paying for the quality of food, service and ambiance we received. Our dishes ranged from Apollo Bolognese, to basic Lasagna and the Fre Diabolo. All were very good, although the Lasagna meat may have been a tad dry. The wine made me feel better about that though. Overall cool place with all the historical pics hung around and the history of the restaurant itself. Will go back.

Bootlegger Bistro Restaurant

By Expedition570055 |

This was the tastiest dish I have ever eaten in an Italian restaurant. I had Saltimbocco. There were 8 in our group, they all enjoyed their choices, but I think they all wished they had gotten my dinner. I shared with a few of them. There was more than i could eat. I'm confident if you eat there you will not be disappointed.

Authentic Italian food and excellent service!

By Dr B |

The Bootlegger has been a Las Vegas staple for over 70 years. It’s Italian restaurant is one of the best I’ve ever tried. Traditional decor, fabulous homemade food, and excellent service. Shout out to bartender Jason who took suck good care of us last night, we came today for lunch! To top it off, the prices are very moderate. Highly recommend!

Simply the best !

By Diane A |

Great choice for delicious Italian food. I had a pasta dish and my husband had veal with fetucinne Alfredo. Both dishes were wonderful and the portions were large. The service could not be better. Great retro vibe to the place. You will feel like you are in the 1960s. Went on a Saturday night. A wonderful singer entertained the diners and she invited a few regulars to sing for the crowd also. It was a lot of fun. They treat customers here like a VIP. We felt like we were part of the family and this was our first time here. We can hardly wait to return.

Menu Changes

By Copperthor |

During the week of June 21, 2021, I visited the Bootlegger Restaurant, as I have done 1-2 times, every trip (business & pleasure) per year (except for 2020) for the past 10 or so years. On this most recent visit to the restaurant, I found unfortunate changes to the offerings. First, the Bread Knots no longer exist. They now serve Bread Nuggets which were considerably less flavorful, not to mention overcooked and rather hard. I never had these problems with the Bread Knots. Secondly, they used to offer Chicken Cacciatore, which was delicious. It is no longer on the menu…second major disappointment. I ordered their “famous” Lasagna, which was in my opinion “infamous.” I hope the owner reads this review and corrects the errors they have made regarding their menu choices. I still love this restaurant. I will visit again on my next trip. The staff are very good and attentive. The decor/ambiance is comfortable and inviting. I look forward to finding out if my suggestions are considered.

Not worth the money

By Dominick P |

I was in Las Vegas in May 7, 2021 and I was referred by a friend to go and eat at bootlegger. I ordered a seafood fra diavolo entree and I specifically asked the waiter to make sure that it would spicy (fra diavolo means spicy) and the entree had no taste whatsoever. There wasn't any spices and it was very broth. The seafood that was used was not fresh and they only gave 2 small shrimps and a few mussels and calamari. I also asked what kind of pasta it came with and the waiter told me I could choose rigatoni but he brings me penne instead. The entree are extremely expensive and not worth money. I am from New Jersey and there are lots of excellent Italian restaurants and there is no comparison.

Come for the food but stay for the atmosphere

By KSSeaB |

You won't find many restaurants with better atmosphere. This is old Las Vegas at its best. The food is good, but not great. Today's waiter Mark is the best waiter I've had in ages, anywhere; and his bus support was excellent.

Amazing incredible take out or sit in for a Vegas experience

By GrandTour56161586928 |

Well, I just walked in and met Perla precious wonderful amazing customer service credible smile. Service is incredible. The food is amazing. I love this place. Been going here for years. Even takeout is just incredible.

Cheddar Cheese Lasagna!

By Emmet |

Cheddar Cheese Lasagna! Lasagna was burnt on top, no ricotta cheese, no mozzarella cheese, just burnt noodles, cheddar cheese and ground beef. Inedible. Also had chicken parmigiana. Again, no mozzarella cheese, no marinara sauce. It was dry over cooked Wiener schnitzel, dry, nasty over cooked low quality chicken over breaded with bread crumbs. Got there at 3:30 pm and couldn’t get a booth. They crammed us in a corner and put everyone who came in, in our corner. Got yelled at for going to the bathroom without the obedience mask on while everyone in the bar area was maskless. This place thinks it’s better than it is. No way Frank Sinatra ate this garbage food!!!

Classic, Comfortable, Delicioso

By Sandy Q |

I had meant to write a review for ages but what I have to say has held true over the years! My personal favorite is the veal parm - it's my go to when I can't decide although sometimes it can be a bit overcooked. The linguine with clams (with a nice white wine), and the ribeye steak cooked medium rare (washed down with a beautifully made Negroni) are heavenly. The service is always wonderful, the garlic bread is like a drug, and they have an excellent wine list. The bartending staff is equally great and always make perfect cocktails. This has become a regular stop for us when we go to Vegas.

Authentic Italian

By DreamsOfMyComrades |

Delicious, authentic Italian food, served in a very pleasant environment. The menu is extensive; we had the chicken parmigiana and the seafood fra diavlo, both of which were excellent. The portions are generous, and the dinner is accompanied by garlic knots, which are a little addictive. Tables aren't too close together—an important consideration during the waning days of a pandemic. Service was effective and friendly. A great option for a good meal without the chaos of the Strip.

Great Meal

By Travelinsider |

Great spot for Italian down the street from our hotel. We (2) arrived without a reservation and we were promptly seated. Excellent service, the lasagne was amazing, as was the spinach fettuccine in a creme sauce with veggies. We absolutely would return. The decor was something out of the 1970’s, but the service and food were excellent.

Above average

By jrzj42 |

As Italian restaurants go, it was above average, but not great. I usually judge Italian restaurants by their lasagna, but I didn't go for it this time around. I did a late lunch and ordered what I could get from any sub shop, and the quality was slightly above other sub shops that I patronize on a regular basis. Next time I'm in Vegas, I'll do dinner and lasagna, and update my review. Staff were super friendly, especially given the COVID-19 issue caused them to do carry-out/delivery only.

So good, they will roll you out

By CNB89144 |

My husband and I tried this on a Saturday night. First of all, if you don't want to wait, make reservations. We were greeted promptly and seated within minutes. The menu is extensive, something for many taste buds and appetites. Although we didn't have any, they had a interesting menu of cocktails. We had the stuffed mushrooms (fungi Maria, Maria), the sauce was so good, I wanted to take a bath in it. They also bring garlic knots with a marinara sauce, which was good to soak up the sauce from the above mushrooms. My husband also had a side salad, which was a good italian salad with oil and vinegar. Then the entrees... he had the saltimbocca with chicken, which was delicious and served with a side of fettuccine Alfredo, which complimented the dish very well. I had the fra diavlo seafood, which was very good and full of seafood. Huge portion. No room for the extensive dessert menu, but will try to arrange next time, and there will be a next time. Our server, Alfredo and his assistant, were fantastic. Piano played in the back ground, just added to the ambiance making it a fantastic night overall.

Pure Vegas

By Jim A |

No stop to Vegas is complete without dinner at The Bootlegger. If Sammy, Dean and Frank are not sitting next to you, their ghosts are! Great Italian starting with the Caesar Salad. I the had the Lasagna which was highly recommended by our server, Ed Jardo. He was correct! She had the Eggplant Parm and both our dishes were cleaner than what the dishwasher could do!! We split a wonderful Tiramisu to close out the evening while listening to a wonderful Piano player / singer. The Bootlegger is as legit as it gets. Try it!

Pleasantly surprised!

By Fay M |

The restaurant was convenient for takeout during the pandemic, and my expectations were not that high. The food was very good pandemic notwithstanding. The pasta was very tasty, and the portion was large. The complimentary bread was abundant, and was eaten the next day for snacks. I am sure you will not be disappointed in your meal.

First Visit in Years

By Anthony D |

Wanted a meal near our home. Haven't visited in years so decided to try. The service was fine and the food average. Much better Italian food available at more reasonable prices. No need to return.

Great food and Service

By Pamela S |

From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We will be returning very soon.

Very good as usual!

By Sandra M |

We have been here before so made reservations as it was a Friday night. Had a great meal with our son & his girlfriend. Everything was good as usual. The bread they bring to the table is very tasty. Location was on our way to airport to drop them off so it made it convenient.

What a meal

By Floyd G |

Absolutely fabulous veal. A great meal, great service, and ambiance. Rhonda was our server, fun, funny, and extremely good. We had reservations in the bar area - it was fine.

Great food we will return

By Eric L |

Great food great atmosphere family Italian dinning . I definitely recommend this to everyone . Veal parm was the best.

Well Done

By GiseppeGord |

Off the busy strip. Recommend reservations. More reasonable prices than in large casinos on strip. We started with a martini. Complimentary bread. My wife and I split a house salad that was very good. Our veal scallopini was tender, flavorful. Wait staff was professional and attentive. Live Music in dining area. Bar area separate from main dining area. Would return and recommend.

Wasn't expecting this!

By mike g |

One of the best italian resturant meals I've ever had. We were actually going to see a band, Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns (fantastic band btw) which was at the "copa room" which is part of the Bootlegger. We figured why not just grab a bite at the bootlegger before. I'm SOOO glad we did. The meal was fantastic. Truly fantastic. If you get a chance, try this place out. You won't be disappointed. Also, if you go on a Monday, the band plays there and really should not be missed.

Delicious food , excellent service , and atmosphere..

By geraldineb744 |

This is a wonderful place to eat at ..the food is delicious and you will go back, we did ! It is at the south end of the strip but worth the drive ….

Awesome Italian Food

By Sue C. |

My husband and I had dinner here with a friend on a Saturday night. We have been coming to Las Vegas for over 20 years and this was our first time at bootleggers. The food was very good and very fresh. We were there on a Saturday night and there was live music. Very nice atmosphere and the portions of the food were very large. We will definitely go back.

Pleasant dinner experience

By tripperoundtheworld |

Went with my wife for a dinner date in Vegas during our trip. This one stands out as it is, off strip, peaceful/less busy, free parking and has nice vintage ambience with its interiors. They also have nice music being played till 9ish in the night. We ordered some excellent Italian dinner options had a nice time.

This is the shining star of Italian restaurants. The hotel that I stayed at recommended this place. I must say that I took the recommendation with a jaded eye. I thought that the restaurant was giving the hotel some incentives to recommend their place of business . My party and I got there a hour and a half before the dinner time rush. (BTW make reservations ) The waitress squeezed us in (thank goodness). Every dish was a work of art including the bread bites with the homemade dipping sauce. The service was outstanding as well, my thanks to Alfredo. If you visit Vegas this is the place to go to. You will not regret it.

Excellent dinner

By OhioTrav42 |

The food was great. Service was very friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable for Las Vegas. There was a piano player/singer who help provide a romantic atmosphere. We really enjoyed our meal and experience there.

A Trip Back in Time and Such Good Food

By Rosslyn P |

Besides the wonderful food, this restaurant is such a fun place to eat . The furnishings and staff are reminiscent of the 1940's. The decor follows the 40's theme - deep reds and dark wood, and the waiters dress in black and wear red ties! There are pictures on the walls of Frank Sinatra, and his music was playing in the background! My eggplant parmigiana was excellent, and my husband's pork chop was huge and very good! What a fun, flavorful trip to the past!

Very unique lasagna

By SUE M |

Our group of five enjoyed our early dinner. Two ordered spaghetti, two lasagnas, and a manicotti. All were very good. Our pasta dishes did not come with a salad but came with small garlic squares. Our server was nice and professional. The garlic bread came out after our dinner was served, apparently the bread server forgot but it was fine. The lasagna was very good, unique that half was meat and half cheese. The sauce surrounded the lasagna which I personally liked…it was different and very good. Their sauce was delicious. The portions were nice size so even without a salad, we left full. We found out about this place from a local on our flight into Vegas. We really enjoyed the atmosphere here, very old school Sinatra style.

Amazing Lunch

By Kpvb |

Special surprise for lunch. We arrived at our hotel and walked over for a lunch. We both ordered the fettuccine Alfredo. Enjoyed the bread and dipping oil. Old school charm with classy touches all the way around. Cloth table clothes with large leather booths. Very cool atmosphere with excellent and delicious food. Will definitely return when in Vegas.

Delicious Italian

By DScharett |

If I could rate this a ten I would. Found this by mistake. I normally don’t go to Italian restaurants, but we decided to try our luck. The ambience is amazing. They started us out with their rolls that are to die for!!!! Then we had the Calamari which was absolutely done perfect! Our main dishes were the Fettuccine Alfredo and Spinach Alfredo and both were perfect. I would definitely recommend this Gem!!

fine food and service

By colonialmist |

We were searching for an Italian dinner, and we were lucky to find Bootleggers to be open during the pandemic. Safety was in evidence. The best part was the food. Great Chicken Parm. There was a piano player, and being from NY, we asked for "New York State of mind". The waiter was very friendly and we were given large portions. Excellent sauce.

A Perfect Night!

By Rose W. |

We arrived for our reservation & were seated immediately. We chose the restaurant after a recommendation from an Uber driver. What a lovely place! Loved the decor! John was our server & was perfectly attentive & proficient. We enjoyed beautiful salads! Wine selection was astounding. Our entrees were all delicious! (See photos!). And of course, we had cannoli’s for dessert! This was our first visit & it won’t be our last!

Thoroughly enjoyable

By Debra H |

We were staying at an airport hotel and didn’t want to eat on the strip. I chose this based on the reviews. We ate early so it wasn’t crowded and enjoyed a delicious meal and great service by Aaron from Missoula! Would definitely recommend. Highly encourage you to save room for dessert (spumoni and cannoli were excellent). We both had a veal dish which you could slice with a fork as it was so tender.

AMAZING Italian Food

By Sandy Q |

I heard about this restaurant that has been around for decades through an Anthony Bourdain show. I was curious and beyond happy that we tried it. I can't think of a single thing that I wish tasted better or was better prepared. The veal was incredible, the bread tasty, and calamari perfectly seasoned and crisp. The filet mignon, shrimp pasta and salmon were also big hits at our table. The service was perfect and I am definitely looking forward to coming back!

Classic Vegas Restaurant

By Terry K |

The Bootlegger is a must-visit restaurant in Las Vegas for ambience and great Italian food. We took our friends from North Carolina (the wife is Italian) because we wanted them to experience some Old Las Vegas charm. First off, the setting with old photos and classic music sets the stage for a great dinner. Our waiter, Eddie, was fantastic--personable, humorous, attentive. All of the food was delicious: linguine with clams (both white and red sauce were tried); orange roughy; mussels; tiramisu. The bread is decadent. Mama's red sauce is amazing in its deep flavor and perfect consistency. Portions are generous. Pasta is perfectly cooked. Can't say enough great things about this restaurant!

OMG this may be the best restaurant in Vegas - fabulous dinner - fabulous waiter - JOHN

OMG this may be the best restaurant in Vegas! My first here and definitely 5star! Fabulous restaurant and great entertainment!!!

Absolutely Amazing

By bettyjot214 |

We had just flown in from Pittsburgh and quite hungry, especially with the 3 hour time difference. We weren't thinking about it being a Saturday evening during "rush hour". The maitre' d met us at the door, asked if we had reservations, and we said no. He said, not a problem, I will find a table for you, and he did. We were escorted to a smaller dining room in another building that had 7 or 8 tables. It was perfect for our weary family of 5. Our waiter was exquisite. We felt we were his only table and had his undivided attention as he constantly checked on us and had drinks refilled before being asked . He recommended the mushrooms for an appetizer and they were melt in your mouth delicious. Our dinners did not disappoint either. Definitely 5-star+ for every aspect of this fine establishment. We will definitely visit again next time we are in Las Vegas.

Not as good as it used to be.

By Wango T |

Bootlegger had been one of our favorites several years ago, but we were really disappointed when we had dinner in mid-May. We ordered the antipasto which was now small (about half the original size) and like $27! They used to have outstanding bread - now you have to request is 'special' but it is really basic - like you buy in the supermarket. We ordered the fettuccine Alfredo - the sauce was good but the pasta old/rubbery. Service was good, but the kitchen needs help.

Best Italian restaurant

By Tonya H |

The atmosphere was amazing. The food was delicious. Everything is made from scratch. The portions are generous. It’s a little pricey but worth every penny. We would definitely go back die a nice dinner in the future.

Excellent dinner at this 70year old place. Awesome food! Chicken parmigiana and tiramisu. Wide range of choices. We loved it !

Anniversary Dinner

By Taryn |

I really enjoyed Bootleggers, the piano singer on a Friday night while you dine is such a nice treat. I thought the food was very good, we had the escargot for appetizers, I had the chicken Francese and my husband had the salmon. Plus they surprised us with a lovely anniversary dessert. Don’t pay attention to the reviews it is a nice place to eat.

You have to go here .

By jrose4 |

Excellent 👌 A must if you are looking for an exquisite meal. Best Italian I've had outside of Italy. Great food at great prices. I was glad that we were able to make it in. Just a little south of the MGM but, well worth it. Will not disappoint.

That Garlic Bread, though

By Lisa M |

By far the best garlic bread I have ever eaten! The marinara sauce is also killer. Great ambiance and excellent food. This is a must stop for me when I come to Vegas.

Excellent Italian Restaurant!

By Minnesota09 |

We were visiting our son who lives in Vegas from Minnesota, We tried to go last time we were in town, but couldn't get in since we didn't have reservations. This time I made them and we were blown away!!! This place is amazing!!!! The service is unreal...the food is wonderful...however, the bill was a bit pricey...but it was worth it!!!!! The ambience is beautiful, a gentleman was playing the harp and it was so enjoyable. We will be back every time we visit LasVegas...it's a hidden gem for sure!!!!!

Best meal in Vegas

By nctrailrunnermom |

Best meal in Vegas. We had the cheese ravioli in rose sauce, capellini alla pomodoro rustica, spinach fettuccini primavera, and tiramisu. All excellent. The bread service, like garlic knots, was delicious. Excellent service from waitstaff. Definitely a 'go back to' on our list.

Excellent

By rpgamble7 |

Excellent Old Vegas style Italian Restaurant. Excellent Food and Service. All dishes are made from Scratch. Great atmosphere in Restaurant. Nice comfortable Booths and Tables. Nice Bar for after dinner drinks.

Great food, great service, EAT HERE!

By ColeCrew45432 |

This place is AMAZING! We were looking for Italian food for our last night in Vegas and this place does not disappoint! We were impressed from the moment we made the reservation all the way through to our walk to our car. First-class food, first-class service, great ambiance - I can't say enough good things! Definitely go - you will not be disappointed (And try that lemon drop cheesecake - forget the diet and eat it. You'll only regret it if you don't!)

One of the best Restaurants in Las Vegas.

By robertcsd |

The Bootlegger is by far one of the best restaruants in Las Vegas. On the south end of Las Vegas Blvd, a short cab ride down the strip will give you one of your best dining experiences in Las Vegas. The menu options are so broad that everyone can find somehting to enjoy pasta, steaks, seafood, chicken are all fantastic. When I take guests there for the first time and they bring their delicious bread to the table and my guests take their first bite, they go crazy. That is just the beginning. There is a great atmosphere with a piano player and a very attentive staff. Most of us locals do not dine on the strip so we favor local establishments and the Bootlegger is at the top of the list for locals. So if you are visiting Vegas, the Bootlegger shoudl be at the top of your list for dining.

If you are in town this is a must stop this restaurant is full of great history of Las Vegas . Usually has a piano player during dinner time. Ask for Nicole at the bar . I had the Orange Roughy delicious.

Over Rated

By Sharon K |

Guess they don't have a lunch menu because I asked for one but never got one. My risotto was delicious, my friend didn't like his bucatini which was a rather small serving for $27 pasta. No need to hurry back. Was much better when it was located on Eastern Ave

Ok

By Heather |

I had the fettuccine alfredo, and although it was perfectly acceptable, it was very bland in my opinion. The bread and dipping sauce on the other hand were very good, and my friends had the penne and said it was also very good. Our server could've been more attentive, but the guy refilling our water glasses was great.

Must visit when in Vegas

By Rita D |

Excellent place. Great atmosphere, history and food. Fettuccine Alfredo and Spinach Primavera is recommended.. Claudia was an excellent waitress. Love the piano singer. Will be back.

Get away from the strip as this Italian is amazing!

Amazing atmosphere, great garlic bread bits, fantastic service from our waiter Mark and wonderful food. Some of the best Italian I have ever had and will certainly be heading back. A great locals restaurant away from the strip.

Fine Italian dining & Exceptional Food!

By Patty R |

After reading reviews we chose Bootleggers for dinner on a Monday night. Made a reservation, which turned out to be a good choice as at 5:30 the dining room was nearly filled. As others have noted the service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the ambiance was old school Vegas with dark wood and leather high back booths. We enjoyed a lovely meal with high end service while enjoying our finely prepared and generously portioned meal. We agree with others who’ve noted that it’s on the pricey side but we also value the experience and the high quality service and for that it’s worth every cent. We will be returning on our next LV visit!

Fantastic! Great service, great atmosphere

By burgesspeter |

Fantastic! Cosy, great service and excellent food. A charming place we’ll visit again. Staff were very knowledgable and it is family run.

Live music and amazing food. The restaurant is authentic and so comforting. Service was exceptional. I would recommend the Papperdelle Bolognese it is absolutely amazing and hearty!

Great service and food

By Howard F |

Just a shout out to the friendly, helpful, and prompt staff at the Bootleggers Restaurant in Las Vegas on Los Vegas Blvd. These people had incredible people skills, good humor, and big smiles. We had take out and they were able to get the food out in the time given by their host. While we waited one of the staff told us to go look at the historical photos in the lobby. It was fun. The food was excellent and tasty. Nice to be able to get the discount from the Residence Inn (20%)! Thanks and we'd go back anytime! Whomever was there in the back, deserve a commendation from the management. You folks hired some amazing people.

Their lasagna was awful

By Tim W |

Lasagna is my favorite dish and I've had it all over the country. This is probably the most disappointing I've ever had. I've read great things about it (they claim it's a specialty) and it's more expensive than most places. But it was very bland. There were two "strips" of noodles. On the right hand side, it was just some noodles....and that's it. No meat or anything. It was half the size of the noodles on the left. On the left there was some meat but not a lot and no taste that jumped out to me. Also, all of the sauce was down in the container around the noodles instead of on top of them. Never saw that before in my life. And there was no garlic bread, which was especially disappointing for the price, to sop up that meat sauce surrounding the noodles. Most times when I get lasagna it comes with garlic bread....and I pay a lot less. Some even include a small salad at the lower price. I'd been to this place in the past to gamble and drink but never had their food. I'll never be getting food from there again.....and I doubt I ever go back to drink/gamble after that experience.

Great food and atmosphere

By oldford289 |

The ambiance, food and especially the service by Laura and her helpers was nothing short of spectacular. I can't wait until my next visit here. I highly recommend coming here. Bravo!

so good we ate there twice!

By pdfleming |

service was terrific and the food was delicious. Good value for the money. Nice atmosphere away from the strip!

Sadly disappointing

By Lorrie L |

We have gone to Bootleggers every time we vacation in Vegas. That’s quite a few times and this time it was to celebrate our 41st anniversary. We started with the breaded ravioli which was delish. Then a mixed salad for my husband snd a Caprese salad for myself. The bread which were “nuggets” were just okay. For the entree that’s where the problems start. Husband ordered his favorite lasagna snd it was not the same as their famous lasagna. In fact he felt it couldn’t even be classified as lasagna. My favorite was the Veal Osso Bucco. This was such a letdown. 6 small pieces of shanks instead of the normal larger veal shank. And to make it worse it was like licking a salt lick. The veal was tender as it should be but the salt was over the top. Very disappointing and definitely not worth the price. Sad to say we won’t be returning there in the future.

Old School Excellence

By Lee |

The Bootlegger Italian Bistro is an old school Italian resturant with all the things you should expect, live entertainment, impeccable service and hardy italian food. Recommendation: chicken parmigiana.

Fun experience!

By jsb1224 |

We chose the Bootlegger because it got good reviews and was within walking distance of our hotel. It was the first night of our vacation and it got off to a good start. Excellent food, cool, retro experience, great service. Just a wonderful evening.

So good.

By Rocker1411 |

Were seated immediately (despite being a few min late for reservation time). Waiter was kind and professional. Drinks strong, beware! Delicious garlic little breads with red sauce brought out quickly. We had spaghetti with sausage, lasagne, and the stuffed mushrooms and all were so delicious. Very generous portions. Too full for dessert. Go boxes brought out for leftovers. Great ambiance, live entertainment, a little loud but everyone enjoying their night. And, if you're lucky, you might get seated next to a rock star ;) Just smile, leave them alone and let them enjoy their dinner :)

Molto bene

By Chris V |

Birthday dinner and amazing family and food. First time visiting and it was worth it. Brought me back to my grandmothers kitchen as a teenager. The smells and taste of delicious Italian food. Bolognese was amazing. Although it was early evening my only suggestion would have been to dim the lights a bit more. More ambience but that’s minor in the grand scheme of things.

Very good to excellent food, great service

By Peter K |

We ate dinner here on 4/14/25. It was our fifth visit over the past two years. The food was very good to excellent (veal parm., minestrone soup, house salad all were very good, the baked penne was excellent) . The service was superb as usual. We will eat here again.

Perfect meal in every way!

By JKW3 |

Our server was professional, courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The courses were served with just the right timing, but most importantly the food was DELICIOUS!! I had the Pappardelle Bolognese, and my husband had the Orange Roughy Francese. This is our second time dining here while visiting Las Vegas, and it's been so good both times, that it might become a tradition for us.

Excellent food & Service!

By AJCoCo62 |

Excellent food and service today for lunch. We had chicken marsala and fettuccini Alfredo and lasagna. Tiramisu for dessert was great!

Worth leaving the strip to dine here

By Food Traveller |

The setting, the staff, the furniture, the music and atmosphere is all nailed for a really great night out. A bit too bright if you are looking for something more romantic. The drinks and the food, all with plenty of choices and made with high quality. You can definitely come more than once and try something completely different. -1 star as with my Linguine al Vongole they used fresh clams and from the tin/jar. They added bit of its fishy water to the sauce too, makimg it a far less elegant dish than initially hoped for. That was not necessary, so only reason for the 4*. I'd otherwise go back and recommend it with my eyes closed and it's not that far by car.

Excellent!

By 4nge14 |

Everything was top notch! Make a reservation because we went there in the evening on a week night and those just walking in had a 45 minute wait. Our waiter and his assistant were ever attentive and extremely friendly. We ordered the seafood pasta and the lasagna. The portions were large and we both ate the whole thing because it was just that good. There was a harpist that evening which was lovely but not intrusive. Would love to eat here again if I ever make it back to Vegas!

Customers we take to dinners at Bootlegger

We bring our visiting customers to Bootlegger for Dinners once or twice a month when possible. in over 20 years of going to the Bootlegger we have not had a bad meal,

Great food and service

By Peter K |

We ate dinner here on 12/11/24, it was our forth visit. The food (Baked Penne, Fettuccine Alfredo and minestrone soup) were all excellent. The smoky flavor to the soup was a pleasant surprise. The service was great as always. The restaurant was very busy but the kitchen and wait staff did a great job handling the crowd. We will eat here again the next time we are in Las Vegas

Excellent food with TERRIBLE service!

By Gail B |

We had a very good dinner at the Bootlegger, but the service was horrible - I think our waitress forgot to put in our order - we waited 1.5 hours for the main courses! The calamari appetizer was lovely, but the they served the Burrata salad with un-ripe tomatoes!!!! I ordered the veal marsala, which was terrific, but the waitress gave me the wrong side! Also good were the fettucini Alfredo and Eggplant parmesan. This is a popular place, but they need to get their act together!

Very good food and service

By Peter K |

We ate dinner here on 4/18/23, it was our second time here. It is close to the Hampton Inn Las Vegas Strip South where we stay when flying out of Vegas. The food (manicotti, and chicken Parm. with angel hair pasta) was very good and the service was excellent. The total with tip, dessert (lemon cake and choc. cake both very good) and a glass of wine was about $118, which we thought was reasonable. We would eat here again.

You must try this place.

By Jeff W |

Very good food and in general a decent dining experience. Table of 6 and we were served in an adequate amount of time Staff was friendly. The only negative was that the harp player was too loud for the size of the room. It was difficult to carry on a conversation with friends we meet up with when visiting Las Vegas.

Fabulous Family owned Restaurant

By Laurel M |

We wanted a restaurant close to the McCarran car rental return before our flight home and the Bootlegger Bistro fit the bill. While we waited for the patio tables to be set up, I grabbed a copy of the restaurants history (with a family photo with Anthony Bourdain) What a story! This is truly a family run business since 1949. The photos on the wall with past and present Las Vegas stars is worth checking out. The service was very professional, the chicken piccata with fettuccine Alfredo, the rigatoni with housemade sausage, the garlic bread pieces with marinara dipping sauce - delicious. We also ordered a Bootlegger Italian sandwich to go, to eat on the flight home. I wish we had time for dessert. Next time!

Made last minute reservations on Open Table and got a beautiful booth to dine with my wife. We loved our food and the piano player in the background really added charm to the ambience. Our waiter steered me towards the Veal Lorraine and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife enjoyed her osso buco. Great place !

Bootlegger

By MICHELE310C |

We had our year end work family dinner at Bootlegger. Food was nice, service was great! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning!

Surprisingly Perfect! Great Experience!

By voyageurfoodie |

We were staying at a hotel nearby before flying home after a week hiking in Utah. I am not a fan of Las Vegas so had very little expectation that the food would be good. I saw there was a patio and asked if we could sit there. Lovely ! Richard was our server and helped us choose our wine. We wanted something light so both had soup and salads and concluded in their wonderful spumoni ice cream. So glad our hotel recommended this restaurant.

Great food poor environment

By John R |

A previous review was a “five star” and this experience started that way. We were warmly received, seated early and pleased to see the talented pianist/performer was singing. It was very busy and as we should have expected, there were several Xmas parties taking place, one right behind us being handled by our server. The food was truly delicious but enjoying our experience was zero stars. The noise was unbelievably loud…we could not hear the entertainer and could not hear each other…people have a right to enjoy and celebrate…unfortunately it significantly impacted our chance to enjoy a quality meal and entertainment and our server was so busy, it took forever to get out. Truthfully, the best part was leaving so we could enjoy some quiet

They don't want to even serve you or acknowledge that you are there

By Jennifer D |

We went early to make sure we didn't get the dinner rush. We were seated and the bartender/server saw us never even acknowledged that we were there proceeded to speak with a couple at the bar for about 15 or so minutes, then when she was done talking, she waited on another couple at the bar who had just sat down again never even acknowledged we were waiting. The bar and restaurant area was almost empty so it is not like she was in the middle of a rush or super busy. We are locals who have been going here for multiple years and never have had such rude non-service. We left and went to another restaurant where our food and service was amazing, glad we didn't stay. I don't think we will be going back.

Great Italian food in Vegas

By Marty12342014 |

Some of the best Italian food. Homemade meatballs and pasta were amazing. Highly recommend. It’s off the strip but it’s a short Uber ride and we’ll worth it. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Delicious and great service

By Katie B |

Ordered the seafood specialty - packed with delicious seafood, and pasta. Caprese was so-so. Carbonara and chicken Parmesan were amazing. I see how it’s a 5 star rating - great place!!

Tried while in Vegas

By Scott B |

Stumbled upon this place, and I'm glad we did. Food and service was outstanding with a great atmosphere. Nicole was our server and she rates high in my book. We came in early around 4 30, but by 5 30 the place was packed. Plenty of hotels in the area and close to the airport.

Wonderful traditional Italian restaurant

By Globaby100 |

Pasta Primavera was wonderful as was chocolate lava dessert. Salmon was overcooked but they gave us dessert to make up for it. Ask that salmon not be overcooked.

Great food family restaurant stroganoff and goulash were excellent

Great food family recipes very clean friendly good drinks breads were great we will go back next trip a real find. You will love it

Great Food and Atmosphere

By kristinn901 |

My son and I ate there last night because we were staying at a hotel near by. We were pleasantly surprised with how nice the restaurant was and loved the food. I appreciated that it was quieter area than the strip and the food and service was excellent especially for the price. I did not expect to find that in Vegas. I would definitely go back there again the next time I return to Vegas and recommend it to others. I was looking for something light and had the Caprise salad and shared Bruschetta. My son had cheese ravioli. They serve garlic bread for free and that was excellent as well. The decor was also very nice.

Great food and service

By Peter K |

We ate here on 5/31/22 while staying at the Hampton Inn about 1/2 mile away. The food (veal parm, healthy chicken and fried ravioli appetizer) was very good to excellent. The service was great. We would eat here again. Note: If you stay at the Hampton ask for the VIP discount card good for a $12 discount if you order an appetizer or a free bottle of the house wine.

first time there

By pspoker |

Probably our last? Service was good. I got the chicken alfredo, not so good. Heavy thick cream. Hard to swallow almost. Just too thick. A LOT of noodles and hardly any chicken. Though the chicken was good. I am allergic to onions, so the server said I could not have anything with red meat (meat sauce, lasagna, meatballs etc) or with the red sauce as they make it with onions also. oh well.

Old school

By Dina S |

What can i say this is old school italian, it is soooooo amazing I wish we could eat here all the time, the pasta is always cooked perfectly and everything we have ordered is always on point perfection. I love the old school vibes and the piano player at night is great, I would of given 5 stars but I wish it would go back to 24 hours so i could get my late night fix of papperdelle bolognese the best!!!!

Italiano!

By WeRe Adventurous |

What a fabulous dinner!!! The Bootlegger is a truly authentic Italian family ristorante' with amazing food, wonderful service, and the prices were very reasonable for Las Vegas. I had a house Cab and it was delicious! Our waiter was charming and attentive and the creme brulee' was divine. Most definitely worth the short drive!

Very Solid Italian Restaurant with 1960’s Ambience

By David O |

Very solid Italian restaurant with 1960’s ambiance. Tried the minestrone and saffron primavera risotto, both very good. Be sure to catch a show at the Copa next door. We saw Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns on a Monday night and they were fabulous!

Great dinner with my ❤️!

By kelrdh7 |

This place was recommended by a nice man on our plane to Vegas! This restaurant was great! Very unique a lot of family history which was great! The staff from when we arrived till when we left was awesome! Our waiter was top notch super helpful! We loved our appetizers to the desert. Homemade bread to die for! They even had live music playing while we ate! I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to visit again when I am in Vegas! Another amazing thing was the nephew I believe part owner of restaurant came over to see how everything was going?? Are you kidding that never happens! When in Vegas you have to try this place! You will love it!! Thanks again!❤️🇮🇹🥂🎶

Romantic, historic, impeccable service, deliciousness, and friendly

By Mitchell K |

My second visit….. with dear friends. The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable! Instead of live piano, tonight featured a harp player. It’s an acquired taste but still set the mood. It’s romantically dimmed with dark woods, and it’s 70 years of serving the public makes it a great date night.

Good but not Great

By CWS55 |

Very nice Italian restaurant on Las Vegas Blvd South of the strip hotels. Huge place with large comfy bar and live entertainment. Our friends raved about the food here and it was good just not special. The caprese salad consisted of three small slices of hard unripe tomato, nice piece of fresh basil and a slice of store bought mozzarella. Not worth the price. The seafood fra diavalo was a nice size bowl of linguine with two large prawns, eight small clams and a handful of calamari. The sauce was ok but not distinctive. I choose the medium but detected no heat whatsoever. The lemon sorbet came in a large amount and was very tasty. The creme brulee was average and tasteless. Best part was the tasty little bread knotts Lots of parking. Easy access. Good service. All.in all a mediocre experience in a town known for spectacular. .

The Veal Parmesan was perfect!

By David M |

Bootlegger is always on our list of restaurants to visit when we’re in Vegas. Our only regret is they are not opening for breakfast at this time. They make an excellent frittata. We sat in the bar area for dinner yesterday. The large dining room was full and we hadn’t made reservations. I had Veal Parmesan with angel hair and wife had raviolis with Alfredo sauce. Both were excellent as was the service. Portions are generous. Prices are a little high but reasonable.

Just order the mushrooms

By bunsen88 |

This place is really quite amazing, the stuffed mushrooms are really the highlight for me. Amazing service and reasonable prices.

Segregated and Disappointed

By Jet40285206424 |

The chicken breast I ordered was terribly dry. However, as a family of color what we experienced was being segregated from the main dining areas - literally in a room with no windows, outside and across the courtyard. The only other family seated in that space was another family of color. In the main dining room there was plenty of space when we arrived. However when we left it was filled with people - not one person of color. We felt segregated but seeing the main dining area - it felt obvious we were not who they wanted in that space. I’d imagine the food served to others was better given the other reviews, but ours was barely okay. Disappointed and disheartened by our experience. I hate that I didn’t insist on just leaving when we initially felt odd by being led outside to another room.

When in Vegas we always go to Bootleggers - never disappointed. We started with the calamari and a cesear salad along with their famous garlic rolls. My husband had the strip steak I had clams with red sauce over penne. Both very good. Service excellent. That nite there they had a harpist playing. From the strip you will need to take an Uber out. Well worth the drive.

Classic Italian in Vegas.

Classic Italian restaurant. Went for a birthday dinner and it was great. Italian ambience, Sinatra, and the food and service were excellent. Get away from the strip and go have a nice dinner here.

So good it make my lady bits tingle!

Okay okay, maybe it was the two sangrias. 🤣 Hahaha, but this place was ridiculously good. We found this little gem because it was in close proximity to where we were staying. I’ll be honest; I wasn’t stoked about going at first. I mean, how great can pasta really be? But then we visited the Mob Museum and all of a sudden all I could think about was some good Italian food, go figure! I’ll start with the Sangria Rosso. I’m not a big drinker, but oh my word that first sip and I was done. It complimented the meal beautifully. So good, I had to have two! The meal started with what I could only describe as little doughy, garlic drops of heaven. They were perfect on their own but they serve them with a red sauce that somehow makes them even better. Put these in front of a couple who had been watching their carbs for the past 7 months and those little things never had a chance. Shout out to our server, Kodie; who brought us more of them. My God, I love carbs. As if those little garlic bread delights weren’t enough to start with we decided to try the Antipasto Classico which was a beautiful spread of Italian meats and cheeses served with figs, dates and olives. More food than two people need for an appetizer, but you better believe we polished off that bad boy! As our entrees came out I was already in need of a to-go box. I had the Pollo Angelo served with what was the BEST fettuccine Alfredo I’ve ever had (which heated up great the next day for lunch). My husband had the Pappardelle Bolognese which I tasted and don’t tell him, but I think I liked his a tad more. Both meals were delicious. My only regret is that we didn’t save any room for dessert. I have a feeling the Tiramisu might be an out of body experience. I may have to go back just for dessert…and maybe one more Sangria. 😆

Stay Away

Our dining experience at the Bootlegger Bistro ended with food poisoning. We typically take a vacation before our kids start school. This year with COVID, many destinations is a challenge with either airfare or hot spot issues. We decided to select Las Vegas with hope of using the hotel pools. The dining in Las Vegas was limited and regulated for health reasons. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised to see all the casinos and hotel restaurants incorporating a high level of safety precautions. One night, we made the unfortunate mistake of trying a local spot rather than the hotel restaurant – this was our first and last mistake. We dined at the Bootlegger Bistro; the service and food were satisfactory, nothing noteworthy. My son and I (out of our family of four) were the only two who ate the escargot. Later in the same evening, we were the only two who developed food poisoning. With all the smell and sounds, we were severely sick the same night and for the following day(s) to come. My son and I were on clear liquid diet and the entire vacation ruined. My wife called the restaurant the very next morning while my son and I stayed in bed. She explained the incident to the manager Steve. Steve was cavalier about the situation saying, “maybe we both had an allergic reaction.” Steve also promised to investigate the matter and call us back. The call never came. There was no empathy nor consideration for the issue…only deflection. It is disappointing and shameful during these challenging times, the lack of care and concern. For an establishment who prides itself as the classic historical Italian restaurant of the Las Vegas past; I find their actions and character a personal insult.

Great food and service

We ate dinner here on 1/5/26, as usual the food was excellent (egg plant. parm., Pollo Griglia and fried ravioli) and the service was top notch. If you like old school Italian food this is the restaurant for you. It is our go to restaurant in Vegas.

Always great@

I have eaten here several times over the past years, my wife brought me to the old location when we were first dating, now almost 40 years later we love the new place just as much. The food is always great, the staff all friendly, efficient and very welcoming! This restaurant is located in a mall with plenty of parking available. The entire area is clean and well maintained. I try and order different items when I come here on my first visit I had the fra diavolo and that became my favorite dish. Not just here but other restaurants we attend. We have been here many times will certainly be back and highly recommend it

Best Chicken Parm Ever!

By Anthony |

Wife and I decided on dinner at the Bootlegger she had spaghetti & meatballs, I had chicken parmigiana. She really enjoyed hers, my chicken parm was the best meal out in Las Vegas in over a year. 10/10 on the feed. My Blood Orange Martini was basic, but the meal and garlic knots more than made up for it!

Great Little Find

By mizdoc1 |

I found this place last year and have been back twice since. I would’ve never expected this to be a great hidden little treasure on the south end of the strip. If you love Italian food, this place has a wonderful ambience with a lot of nostalgic history to boot; you have to give this place a try. I had the classic lasagna, the house salad with a delicious house dressing and finished the meal with the lemon drop cheesecake (I brought leftovers home and left stuffed). Yuuuuuuuummy!

Great old style Italian.

By Beverley Parks |

Visited in June, we always go to the Bootlegger when we are town, it's an old style family Italian restaurant with all of the charm. Great food, fab atmosphere, good service, extensive menu. We had the Caprese between us and the the Eggplant Parmigiana and Linguine Vongole. I say the menu is extensive, it is, what would I know, we always have these dishes because they are our favourites in any Italian but especially here. The complementary bread and tomato sauce is a meal in itself.

Amazing... Must go see Nichole (Bartender)

By Rebecca G |

We had an amazing night, mainly because Nichole (Bartender) is the sweetest. She was always attentive and had great knowledge of the menu and drinks were delicious 😋. This is a must go place for locals and people visiting. Will go back for sure!!

The food is very average and everything is so full of garlic you can barely taste anything else. Way too heavy on the garlic, so be ware if you have anything important the next day. It is American Italian food not genuine Italian food, too much garlic and sugar. We made a booking and were kept waiting for no reason as there were lots of open tables, we had a show to get to so that was not good. And it was extremely expensive for what it was. $450 with tip for 4 people - for average Italian food. I would have rather spent my money on one of the rated restaurants on the strip. We go to the Italian American Club often and the food there is much better and it is much cheaper (like half the price), so unfortunately we won't be going back to BL's. Very disappointing indeed. There is a nice bar next door called the Copa that has music which is good value. I gave it two stars as the server/waiter was very good.

Damn good meatballs

By Stephenson7 |

Wanted a place off the strip and found this not so little gem. Stopped in for lunch during a recent road trip and we were greeted pleasantly and seated quickly. There’s a lot of local history tied to the owners of the establishment which was pretty neat to read about, Food was very good, the meatball are fantastic Reasonably priced by Vegas standard, good portioned and friendly staff. If I’m ever in Vegas again and want Italian food this would be one of my top options.

Great food and atmosphere

I’ve been a frequent visitor to Vegas for years and this was my first ever time here. It will not be my last. I had their Italian sub with the best fries ever. Great service and a cool, old-Vegas vibe. The menu had great choices and should be on everyone’s list to visit!

Outstanding Italian

By UtopiaCentral |

First off, our Uber ride took well over an hour to find a driver. I thought maybe 30 minutes worst case. I called Bootlegger to let them know. We arrive an hour late for our reservations and they sit us immediately on arrival while others were waiting. This was outstanding service. The waiter however was jammed busy so it was a rough start getting drinks and orders in. We had a bottle of wine, meatballs, veal piccata, and chicken parmesan. The marinara was the best I've ever had and the Veal was perfect. Meatballs omg. All to the live background of a quiet piano...This is now the #1 Italian spot in Vegas in my opinion. A couple of close 2nd places. Open 24/7 with a bar and dining and an atmosphere that takes you back to old Italy. Uber+wine+appetizer+two meals= probably half price of what you can find on the strip. For sure a repeat on return and highly recommended.

Amazing customer service

A night with family, thank you Perla! We will go back again and again. Thanks for good food and good people. The lasagna was fantastic

Wonderful meal

By Elizabeth M |

I chose this restaurant because it was within walking distance of my hotel and it had good reviews. It was a good choice! I experienced quick and friendly service and my meal was very, very good. The garlic knots were good, but could have used a bit more salt in my opinion. I ordered the Scaloppine di Lorraine (veal served with a creamy mushroom Marsala sauce with a side of Fettucine Alfredo). The veal was tender and the sauce delicious. The alfredo was very good also. The place was very busy on a Friday night so reservations are recommended. My meal cost $38 (no drinks, no appetizer, no dessert). A bit on the higher side but that's Vegas pricing for you. I found everything in Vegas to be more expensive than at home. Despite the cost, I feel my meal was worth it and would definitely recommend The Bootlegger.

We’ll Be Back!

By Merkie P |

We come to Vegas periodically and stay in the RV Park near this restaurant. We have past by it many of times but have never stopped in. Well we did this last trip and soo glad we did! Service was great, food was delicious and those knots are to die for with the sauce! Hubby had Lasagna and loved it and I had a chicken dish that the server recommended and he was correct, very good. We found our new Italian place and close by besides....PERFECT!!

Good food and service but ask in advance how much time you're allowed for your meal

By Gerald S |

Food was very good and service was commendable, if not a little over anxious. My only complaint is that we were there to have a leisurely dinner celebrating our friend's retirement. We were there 1 hour and 40 minutes, but this included appetizers, drinks, and dessert. We were only minutes from leaving when the waiter advised us that our table was needed for some waiting customers. This did not set well with me. I think we should have been allowed to enjoy our $300.00 dinner at a table for four without being ushered to leave. We will not be back.

A true gem

By h6p8gv |

This restruant is a true gem to Las Vegas. As it has the old world charm that old itilen restaurants used to have where the food was made with love and I also loved the pictures om the wall of the restruants the waiter I wish I could remember his name was fantastic with the big group that we had

A Perfect dinner at Bootlegger!

By stitcher1951 |

We had a wonderful dinner at Bootlegger! Our server wa Kodie and he was very friendly and efficient. kudos to Kodie! One other standout at this restaurant. Is their harpist! He is an elderly gentleman who has played the harp since he was five and he built his own harp! I was blown away when he played Stairway to Heaven! So beautiful! Now to the food. We started with some garlic buns and they were really good. Just the right amount of garlic My husband had Chilean Sea Bass. He said its the best hes ever had. Moist and flavorful My son had the Strip steak with a wine sauce. He said it was moist and tender and full of flavor I had fettuccini and added shrimp. It had a perfect al dente cook and the sauce was flavorful Our deserts were: white chocolate raspberry cheese cake. It was so good! My son had the creme brule and he loved it. My husband had the chocolate fudge cake and he said it was moist and dense and delicious Make sure you make a reservation because its a busy place We will DEFINITELY return to Bootlegger!

Old style Vegas

Great atmosphere. Very old style Vegas bistro. We had the chicken Parmigiana, chicken pesto sandwich and Cesar salad with chicken. All were excellent. Matt was our server and he was very attentive. I would return.

A dining experience to remember

By Brian C |

An extremely inviting Italian vibe. The dining experience was excellent. Real Home-made Italian food makes your taste buds come alive. A nice touch was the entertainment. He was quite an accomplished singer and could make his piano sing.
