Amazing Food w/Southern Hospitality

By Adrienne C |

The Breakfast Klub came highly recommended & we were warned about the potential for a long wait. The wait was short. From the moment we got close to the restaurant we felt welcomed. We were greeted by an employee who provided us with a menu & food suggestions. By the time we placed our order & sat down, we met the manager and owner. The food did not disappoint! The icing on the cake was when we finished the manager came over to ask if we enjoyed our meal. It was a terrific experience. Highly recommend.

Real "Comfort" Soul Food Eatery

By Nando |

It had been a while since I had such a wonderful breakfast/brunch. The place, the ambiance, the thoughtful gidance by the staff and the authentic soul food options made this a very special gathering with my family. I highly recommend the pork chops & eggs, the fried wings & waffles, the biskits & gravy and the catfish & grits.

Loved it

We always stop at the Breakfast Klub during trips to Houston. This time was no different. Food was great!

Authentic American food with plenty of energy

By fishinwater |

This was an absolutely AWESOME place to visit. Such a vibe, huge energy, great range of authentic American breakfast options from waffles to Katfish and Grits + plenty of stuff in between. This place was busy but the service was quick. For a visitor - highly recommended. For a local, a great choice.

Landed there by chance… Go, go, go : Best breakfast of our vakation !

By laurem85 |

Thanks to the Apple Map, we found the place while searching breakfast around us. I would say we already have quite a long list of good breakfasts while visiting the US over the last decades…but this Breakfast Klub tops them all. First, The customers in the line : so excited because it is our first time in the spot and they want to make sure that we enjoy and do not miss the best eggs for example and their French toasts. Second, The people from this place : so friendly, helpful and smiling. The young gentleman at the cash register warns you that the plates are big… « like everything in Texas ! » And they are ! But the taste is even bigger ! He insisted that I try the toasted blueberry muffin with butter…and it was indeed fabulous ! Last, the atmosphere : oh la la…to their image, colorful and full of vibes musics to definitely start on the best foot for a good day ! I would love to say I will go back…but too far from France and we probably won’t come back to Texas before a while. Voilà ! Don’t think twice, just GO ! ❤️👍🏻

This is the best breakfast in the world.

By Harvey H |

I have been coming here for a few years now and love it. The staff is so loving and friendly. The food is the best by a long shot and that includes everything on the menu. It is locally owned and operated with a strong Houston vibe. The owner is a native Houstonian(TSU grad) that strives to be the best in everything from food quality, to staff that make all customers feel like family. It is my favorite place to eat breakfast and lunch. The line to get in is often long, but the wait is well worth it. The long lines tell you something special is always going on at The Breakfast Klub.

OK if you're in the neighborhood

By joeygirl01 |

My girlfriend and I came here for lunch, and we were warmly greeted. The atmosphere was very casual, and we were lucky there was no wait. The service was fast and friendly. We both decided on having the $13.99 daily special: chicken fried chicken, gravy on the side, green beans, mashed potatoes, and Texas toast. The portions were very generous, and I appreciated that the chicken wasn't sliced thin like some other places do. The chicken itself was tasty, like it had been marinated, and the crust had a nice crunch. The green beans were frozen, but even so, they were very tasty. Forget the mashed potatoes! They were gummy, and they had an odd taste. Maybe they were made with evaporated milk. We both left them mostly uneaten. The TX toast was as good as you could make a piece of toast. Lastly, the chicken was the only thing hot. The veggies came warm, and the gravy, just lukewarm.

Amazing atmosphere and food!

By Ccooke |

We enjoyed a hearty breakfast, amazing staff and other patrons. The wings and waffles are a must! Great hot coffee too.

Real + Big Southern Breakfast

By Daniel L |

Food that really does hit the soul. Portions are big, flavor is even bigger - be aware the quality makes for some long waits. You know it's a good southern joint when the lemonade is basically a diabetes shot.

Not to be missed

By jgsesq |

Traveled to Houston for a business conference. Had Breakfast Klub recommended by hotel staff. It’s a bit of a distance from the central district- was staying by the convention center- but absolutely worth the trip. Great staff, varied menu and a really good breakfast. Make the trip and experience this unique restaurant.

Worth the wait

By Cabend1 |

Always a line outside so get there early. It moves quick. Great breakfast and huge portions to split.

Line out the door mid Monday - worth the wait!

By Jolie C |

They totally lived up to the ratings! We arrived to a short line out the door around 12 on Monday. Knew it will be good. It was amazing. Group of 8 including 3 kids. Grits some of the best ever. Katfish didn’t disappoint. Chicken and waffles are a must now. My teenage son sucked the meat off the bones and he’s not a big fan of wings. Biscuits. Yum. Beans and rice. Yum. Huge portions for the price. Three kids just shared a meal and ate off our plates. My 8 year old ate some of everything and cleaned her plate which never happens. You order at register then they seat you. Food comes out super fast! Staff are so welcoming. Make the trip. Eat the food.

NEVER disappoints

By Stacey S |

Oh my!!!! Let’s just say I just had the best oh my so fluffy omelet I have ever had in my life. It was the fried chicken omelet and I am going to be dreaming about it! Absolutely amazing! My husband had wings and KLUB Breakfast ( I think)and it by far had one of the best amazing melt in your mouth biscuits ever and the wings were perfectly seasoned. I walked out of there wondering why we don’t go there more often! Listen to the hype. It’s all true!!!!

Best breakfast in Texas!

By lmob92 |

Get there early as people queue around the building. You choose your meal while waiting to go in and pay before being seated. Big portions however we then learnt ‘everything is bigger in Texas’. This place honestly serves the best breakfast we have had. The french toast was amazing!

Best Chicken and Waffles

By Godis J |

My friend suggested we try this place and suggested the chicken and waffles. I must say she did not lead me astray...the chicken and waffles were delicious! The perfect mesh of salty and sweet! The wings were fried to perfection and the waffle crisp on the outside soft on the inside. Since I'm not from Houston had a hard time finding it, but I'm ever so glad we did. There's valet parking and if you come much later than 10pm you will definitely need it. They're open during the day and late night 10pm to 3 am.

Excellent Brunch

By Cici G |

Well worth the wait. We enjoyed fried catfish & grits and fried pork chops with peach bellinis. We didn't need to eat the rest of the day. Owner came out frequently to speak with patrons.

Great breakfast/brunch spot!

By LaTia W |

I had the Belgian waffles with bacon...it was so good! The portions were large enough for me to have leftovers and the food was still fantastic reheated! I definitely plan to dine here again the next time I am in the area!

Delicious food full of flavor

By Leticia L |

There was a line but it went pretty fast, the wait was worth it. The food was great and flavorful, I ordered the catfish and grits.

It was a wait but it was worth it.

By Whitney L |

There was an extremely long line when I arrived. It moved pretty quickly though, I enjoyed my food and will return.

The Best Soul Food Ever

By Ms Cateyez R |

Omg! This breakfast spot is phenomenal. The food definitely speaks to your soul. Compliments to the chef! There is a line but it is quick and organized, the staff is super friendly and I can’t brag enough about the food.I had Katfish with over easy eggs, bacon and potatoes and my husband had the chick and waffles. I must say that was the best fried Chicken and Katfish I have ever tasted. Seasoned to perfection not overly seasoned or under just right. Now I can’t eat fried chicken or Katfish without looking for that taste and I can’t find it. Eveyrho g just taste like salt unlike the food at the Breakfast Klub. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend anyone in Houston to check them out.

Well worth the wait.

By MackinE89 |

1 there is a wait but it’s worth every second. I would trade my boys for their French toast recipe!! The food is VERY good, drinks awesome managers awesome. I received HOT FRESH chicken and it was great. Again GET THE FRENCH TOAST and thank me later! Waited about 30-35 min in line, water was provided.

Delicious Disaster

By Ciara J |

I have eaten at the Breakfast Klub twice. The food and service were wonderful BUT be warned, this food is rich with butter, oil, and cholesterol. If you have a strong stomach, you should be fine BUT if you typically eat healthy or have a sensitive stomach; you may want to stay away.

I Can See Why The Lines Wrap Around The Corner

By Cee_Wanderlust |

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday around 1130am..., the line was so long that I almost turned around. But I figured if a line is this ling, it must be worth the wait! As long as the line was, the wait wasn't too too bad.., we waited in line maybe 35/40 minutes. While in line one of the workers brought menus out for us to look over. Once inside, we ordered at the counter and was shown to our seats. We were told that it was self service (we had to get our own drinks, utensils, condiments, etc) For it to be so crowded, our food came out pretty quickly.., and let me just say the wait was totally worth it! The fried pork chops, potatoes, and grits were worth mentioning!

Brunch

By Christopher A |

Don’t go if you don’t want to wait. We went for brunch at 11 o’clock on a Wednesday, and waited 30 minutes. The food is extraordinary as advertised.

Many food options and great service

By Matleena K |

We liked the cuisine which is classic American with many food options The fried chicken was nicely cooked and it was crispy and juicy. The Belgian waffle topped with strawberries was delicious.

Food

By Cherie Robinson |

Great food!!!!! Amazing customer service!!!! This place is a definite must visit if you’re in the Houston area. You will not regret it. I fall in love every single time I go.

1st morning in Houston, #1 rated spot

By Kirk K |

The face staring at me as I scanned the room with my phone startled me, it looked like Dad. He might not like the jazz vibe here but I see how it probably helped push this restaurant to nationwide recognition. I got here early enough to avoid the line that formed behind me out the door. (How early do I have to get up to avoid Houston Traffic?) I ordered the same breakfast I order everywhere, fried eggs, sausage patties, toast, and hash browns/fried potatoes. I wish I had stepped off my normal and into the special…I overheard everyone talking about the pork chops and now I can’t stop thinking about it. My breakfast was goo, I even had a pumpkin pie latte; but pork chops for breakfas…next time.

Outstanding breakfast reasonable price fabulous coffee

By heffkids |

We had to wait just a little bit but the hostess was very entertaining while we waited. It was definitely worth the wait .. GREAT hospitality and the catfish and grits which was outstanding. Very eclectic great food and fun experience for all.

A family reunion atmosphere with great food.

By Da'Rel B |

I have never in my life went to a restaurant and instantly felt like family. Took a chance and went on New Year’s day and to my surprise it wasn’t packed like Google suggested (yet..) Ms. Mary met us at the door and told us how everything worked. She felt like an Aunt that was welcoming us to the family reunion. The cashier felt like the cool cousin, told us more how it worked and his recommendations. Food came out in about 10 mins and all of it was good. (Katfish and grits was fire, chicken and waffles, fire… French toast, fire, everything else we had was also fire) The GM who seemed like an older uncle was occupying a table next to us, came to our table and asked us how everything was and we ended up talking about our kids for a few mins. It all seemed like a family event. I’ll definitely be back, I have a whole menu I have to try.

Southern Food Excellence

By Vicki V |

I am a big breakfast lover and especially love Southern food made with love. This is the real deal: crispy fried catfish, cheese grits, fluffy biscuits, fried chicken & waffles. What’s not to like? Portions are huge, our wait at 10:30 on Sunday morning was not bad, and the slightly chaotic atmosphere made it fun and funky. I loved it all. Very friendly staff, too. I’ll be back next time I’m in Houston!

Furlough meal

By Monica W |

While we were on furlough, the Breakfast Klub was kind enough to feed us. Man oh man the chicken and waffles were unbelievable. Haven't tried anything else, but i will be back for another meal

Amazing!!

By JTET |

Definitely the best breakfast I have had in a long time. My order was filled to perfection, The staff was very attentive, Outstanding food. If you are anywhere in the area -- Eat at The Breakfast Klub!!!

Get there early, you won’t leave dissatisfied

By Natoria P |

My business partner and I didn’t want to go back to work at the hospital. The Breakfast sampler had us so full. The potatoes were cooked to perfection and the seasoning added the extra kick to our meal.

Come Hungry

By Eric H |

10 stars. I looked for a place close to our hotel on google and this came up. And it was great. The line to order moves quickly. The staff is so friendly. All food is fresh, made to order, and delicious. The portions are huge; I’m a big guy with a big appetite, and this was easily more than 2 meals for me. I had pancakes (huge) which comes with eggs and your choice of meat (bacon for me). My wife had the same. Her pancakes were loaded with blueberries, I had pecans in mine. My sister in law had a breakfast sandwich (croissant) that she enjoyed; it was a mountain! The restaurant is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The manager stopped by and he was great to talk to. They clearly take a lot of pride in the entire operation. And, there is beautiful artwork ((for sale) on the walls. We are going back tomorrow!!

Best Breakfast

By TayAsh |

Visiting friends in town and found a place close by for breakfast. This place was amazing! Cannot say one bad thing about them. Sat outside because the dinning room was full but that did not take away from the great service and atmosphere. Hostess was welcoming and the Chef even came all the way outside to our table to check on us. Ordered the Katfish & Grits which were delicious! Strongly encourage others to stop by, you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing home cooked breakfast!

By Billie R |

We were looking for a place to eat after an early Dr’s appointment and stumbled on TBK. There was a line so we were a bit hesitant but it moves fast! I had chicken and waffles and my husband had the fried catfish etouffe. Both were outstanding! The staff was great and the manager Terry stopped by to say hi and make sure we were happy. Will definitely come back and send our friends!

i love it

By Adora H |

In this place they prepare the best dishes I love the texture and flavor I will definitely return i loved it!

Absolutely Amazing !

By Amber C |

Absolutely Amazing ! Nelson the manager was awesome , the entire staff was wonderful . Covid precautions were taken very seriously . The food was out of this world !!

Great Experience for Traveller

By Dangerous54 |

It’s not about the food It’s the experience! … really cool. Get in early….There was a line up at 8am on a Sunday … enough said!

Good food, loud music

By AlphaNation |

Good food & very friendly staff. The eggs & grits were cooked perfectly. The biscuit was freshly homemade and the bacon was a quality cut. There’s minimal parking, but this is to be expected downtown. I love good southern jazz, but the music was significantly too loud inside. If I cannot hear myself think or have a conversation with the person across the table, your music is too loud.

Good food

By Walter Dudski |

They have very good and tasty breakfasts. Service is excellent . Reasonable prices. I will highly recommend this place.

Amazing breakfasts

By JonoFellet |

Whether you want chicken and waffles, or something more adventurous like catfish and grits, this is the place. Amazing service too.

The Best Breakfast/Brunch Spot in Houston!

By Dr. Arthur |

This place puts all of the national breakfast chains to shame. This was me and my wife’s first time here and it definitely will not be the last! Whoever allows the long line to deter them from waiting, you are definitely missing out. The greeter is hilarious, the line does not take too long, and once you place your order at the register and sit down, you food is on the table in about 3 minutes! The food was delicious and plentiful; it was worth every penny. To top it off, the manager came to our table just to ask how everything was. This place is a must-go in Houston!

Great Food and customer service!

By Kia Sheffield |

When the hype matches the experience! I visited Houston with friends to celebrate my bday and this was one of our stops. There was a line but the line moved fast. While in line we were offered to dine at the location with a smaller menu but same great taste, some ppl in our party of 10 did take that offer and were more than pleased. They received their food shortly after sitting. The other half of us ate in the main restaurant. We ordered and within 5 mins they were serving us our food. All of the food was delicious. The customer service was A+. The manager came, introduced himself, checked on us and made sure we didn’t need anything. I don’t know how they do it, but they did that!

The best

By Lil_msbeautiful |

I absolutely love eating breakfast here. The wait sucks but the food is definitely worth the wait. The grits are yummy and so are the pancakes. Everything on the menu is delicious.

A Houston Staple

By Shameika H |

Once upon a time, I called this place overrated. However, I take it back. The Breakfast Klub has become a staple of great food in Houston. If you were to ask a local or a visitor where is a place to go have a nice brunch, they'll most likely point you here. The Breakfast Klub is soooo popular. i've gone 3 times now and each experience was different. However, some common things keep the people coming back. For example, the great customer service as soon as you reach the lot. Okay, yes. The lot. If you are coming in and there's a long line. . they will be handing out waters while you wait. The wait time can range depending on when you go. The wait on a Saturday / Sunday morning. . whew. Good luck. It's so popular it's packed! Once you get inside, you have to order your food at the counter then you get a number for your table. The number then will help the wait staff find your food when it's ready. Normally when I come, it's during the day. However, their new late night hours are bringing in the folks that want a great meal after leaving an outing. This time .. again. . I got the chicken and waffles. Like the last time, I wasn't disappointed. We came around 11:45 pm and were out by 12:15am. Isn't that crazy? The food was cooked really fast and was done by the time you grabbed your tables silverware from the side area. Enjoy the R&B vibes as you enjoy your food. . the beautiful art surrounding you. . and try out the Breakfast Klub. Congratulations to the owner for opening one up at IAH airport also.

GREAT FOOD

By Artieandnini |

We had a great experience. We went to the signature cafe side. The catfish was yummy. People loved the chicken, grits and other items they ordered. We had mimosas and margaritas as well. Great spot for breakfast!

Home cooking and filling!

By LaLaDo |

noisy, bare bones, interesting place! Great art on the walls to go with the great food! You stand in line to get in - no putting your name on a list - but it moves fast. Bel ready to order when you get inside. The sausage is different and yummy, the sourdough bread is tasty. We didn't get the waffles, but should have! A bit pricy, but worth it!

American soul

By Trinh V |

Definitely wanted to see what the hype was about and finally got the chance to try TBK (The Breakfast Klub). The line gets packed very quickly! It’s your typical American soul food type of breakfast. Is it worth it? Yes and no.. of course with that many reviews you have to try it but I don’t think I would want to wait hours to come and be rushed to eat. They make you order at the register and give you menus while you’re in line. I, of course had to order the famous chicken and waffles! I also ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken and waffles were amazing and so filling!!! It was a bit on the greasy side like my sandwich as well. Sandwich was delish though!

Solid but not exceptional

By unec |

Having heard of the Breakfast Klub for many years now I was finally glad for an opportunity to visit. It did not disappoint, however there was no wow factor except maybe the fried chicken which was perfectly seasoned and crisp. The service was fast and the food good but I don’t have the desire for repeated visits. Too many other great Houston establishments to try out first.

very busy place

By tomandkarin |

not the place to get an American breakfast like eggs, hashbrown.sausage they had lots of other choices but not my fortia

Get here early if you hate to wait!

By Whitney M |

Get here early if you hate to wait in lines. We went on a Sunday morning arriving around 0845am and we only waited in line about 10 minutes but shortly after we placed our orders and sat down, the line was around the corner. You’ll walk in and order at the kiosk, pay and seat yourself. Condiments and utensils and such are self service but the area is well tended to and clean. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. While we were in line waiting a kind older woman recommended a few dishes to us and made small talk, she also highly recommended the grits as being the first grits that she ever ate and DIDN’T have to put sugar in them lol. Sugar doesn’t go in grits, but that’s another debate for another day, I smelled what she was cooking though. What we ordered: I had the catfish and grits with potatoes and biscuit. My friends ordered the chicken wings and grits and the other ordered a huge breakfast sandwich. WE DEMOLISHED our plates! The catfish had amazing seasoning and didn’t really need anything added. I opted to add cheese to my grits and they were good. Not the most amazing ever but definitely yummy, I’m a true southern girl and I love my grits. The potatoes were cooked with peppers and seasoned to perfection. The biscuit was okay, fluffy but not warm so I only had a bite or two. The sweat tea is pricey, not worth the price I paid. It has a slight taste of lemon that I don’t care for in my sweet tea, also they’re prepackaged so no refills.

Must go!

By Rachelle P |

Large portions. There was line to order, but so worth the wait. Food came out very quickly. General manager was very nice and checked on all the tables! Great breakfast spot!

Overrated - undercooked chicken

By Zpac |

I am going to say the reason for the poor rating, first is the wait (not their fault, but it affects the overall experience) and second, if your specialty is fried chicken, it should never come out under-cooked... the waffles though were excellent and very light... This place is very loud and crowded. Not much space for people to even walk by. Out table got bumped almost every time someone was walking by. I think at this point people go for the experience/name more than anything else...

Fantastic!

By WildHaireAdventures |

Stopped here for breakfast after an Astro’s game and absolutely loved it. I would eat here every day if I lived in Houston. First off, the staff was amazing and so friendly, we were met at the door and given a menu by the sweetest lady. I had the chicken and waffles and it was the best ever! My wife said her spinach omelette was also the best she’s ever had. Can’t say enough great things about this restaurant. We lucked out and got a parking spot, but it looked like limited parking. The crowd was also lined out the door when we left, just a sign of how awesome this place is. Would definitely return here!

Very good experience

By Miguel L |

Heard all the raves about this place and can say it was very very good. Had the chicken and waffles with a biscuit. The chicken was fantastic. Very well seasoned. The waffle was good, but not great. Had much better waffles in ATL. Harold's ice bar was better. The biscuit don't bother with it. Cracker barrel had better ones. All in all, the chicken is what deserved the 4 stars.

Worth the wait!

By Lydia M |

I would stand in line no matter the weather to eat here. The food was quick to come out. The Katfish & Grits is amazing. The potatoes, grits and biscuits are good. The lemonade is to die for! It is homemade and is worth every penny! I bought 2 more bottles before I left!

Great breakfast

By Linda J |

Monday morning 8, no wait. Great food & great friendly service. Huge veggie omelet & best seasoned potatoes ever. Hubby got the catfish & grits which were good. Both of us had take home boxes. Definitely recommend.

VEGGIE OMELET

By Miles Archer |

Plenty of free parking. The place wasn't crowded when I walked in for an early breakfast. I had a veggie omelet with grits and a biscuit. Friendly service. The food was pretty good, though nothing special.

Best chicken wings EVER

By Kearston S |

This was me & my son's first stop into Houston. We got there early, when the place first opened. They stay busy. Line was outside the door once we were leaving. Anyway, you HAVE to get the chicken wings. They are easily the best I've ever had.

Birthday breakfast

By Lisa B |

I have lived in Houston all my life & this was my first visit to this place! There of course was a line out the door before the place even opened on this Saturday morning but heaters were going outside & menus handed out. Parking is very limited & a mud pit if it’s been raining like it was but it was worth all the effort! In line we were greeted by a very friendly woman who chatted with us outside & at our table. Each staff member went out of their way to greet us, come by our table & checked on us & thanked us for coming - so OUTSTANDING customer service! The place is not fancy at all & yes the furniture is very rustic & it’s noisy inside but that’s not why you come to The Breakfast Klub...you come for friendly service & even better food!

Quick line, quick service, quick everything

By elda_ramirez25 |

The line....everyone mentions it so you should know by now. It moves along at a steady pace. TBK is a lean, mean, breakfast machine. You look at the menu in line. You order as soon as you step in. You pay first at the register. Someone will seat you and your group. Self-serve for coffee, condiments, silverware, etc. Your food will be delivered in a short time. Good amount of food. The wings are thick and juicy. The grits were full of flavor. Take some time and enjoy a meal before exploring the area.

Delicious food, great staff.

By MMSCruz |

Delicious food, great staff. Their biscuit was so perfectly soft, large portions, fair prices. 6-7 different coffees brewed (thought this was awesome). My husband and I enjoyed every bite of the omelete and eggs benedict we ordered.

EXCELLENT!!!

By PJizzle1976 |

I have been going to this Black owned establishment for years & they have never failed me. The owner & staff are some of the most friendly & helpful people that I have met in a restaurant. The food has always been delicious. There is usually a wait in line but there are two locations that are back to back to each other.

Had drinks here, pretty tasty but overpriced

By Maureen R |

Just had drinks here at the airport. They were tasty, but def overpriced. It is the only place in the Houston airport to grab a drink.

Best Fried Chicken!

By lakeshia1024 |

I went with a group of 6. We waited about 30 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait. You order before you are seated, so decide what you want to order while in line. The portions are large, if you aren’t a big eater I recommend sharing. I ordered the fired chicken and grits and it was amazing.

great!!

By L.R |

The wait is a bit long for this place but, worth it because of the amazing food and not to far from the city

Easily Best Meal Here

By Max D |

Got the recommendation from a Lyft driver and this was the real deal. Just go for the wings and waffles. Be prepared to wait in line. Check hours since it’s mostly a breakfast and lunch place.

Unhealthy foods only & an environmental disaster (food only served in plastics & styrofoams)

By Ogg |

This place serves up massive portions of tasty American breakfast staples--but each portion could feed several people and is made with entirely too much butter/grease/syrup. It is simply not healthy whatsoever. For a breakfast establishment, it is odd that they offer no fresh juices--only bottled juices in plastic bottles or cans. The place desperately needs a live juice person to mix up interesting juices and bring it up to 2020 standards for a breakfast establishment. Due to COVID (I guess), everything they serve comes in styrofoams, plastics, plastic utensils, mono-use everything in plastics, plastic cups and plastic straws, then all put in plastic bags, and is packaged several layers deep in environmentally disastrous toxic plastics--even when it is eaten outside on their patio they give it to you like that! Each table creates a cubic foot of toxic waste (or more) that will never go away. Where is the Texan or American environmental organization that needs to stop this wasteful behaviour? Greenpeace needs to get involved. Do the owners have any environnmental conscious? So far the answer is no. The place is an absolute environmental disaster. The food is also quite expensive.

Maybe An “Off Day”

By LiveLaughLoveT_08 |

My friend and I visited from out of town based upon the recommendation of a family member. They were celebrating their anniversary so there was a dj who played music. We ordered the katfish and grits and the chicken and waffle. The service was great and we felt welcomed, however, the food was very bland, with the exception of the katfish. Maybe this was just an “off day” but we were not impressed with the meals at all and left most of the food on the plates.

Great Food, Fabulous Service!

By Mellienellie |

After dropping my daughter at the downtown bus station, I decided to try this spot before the hour drive home. I’m so glad I did! When I walked in, I was greeted by the cutest little lady! I was treated like royalty, even though this might be considered a “hole in the wall.” Cutie Pie showed me where to get my coffee, silverware and syrup, and a few minutes later, I was served a huge helping of chicken and waffles. The food was delicious, and the service was amazing. Several people came by to check on me, or to just make friendly conversation. I also loved the fact that gospel music was playing-such a positive atmosphere! I will definitely be back!

Amazing food

By Melanie B |

We decided to try this place and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Come on an empty stomach. There's a lot of food.

First time visit

By Ntony G |

Had an amazing time. The Breakfast Klub fantastic was servers and very attentive. Food was delicious and came in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend anybody to visit.

worth the wait

By LaDawn G |

Get there early the line starts forming before they open, it is a small place, but the food is plentiful and good, the staff is amazing, will go every time i am in Houston.

Best Soul Food in Houston

By Felicia H |

Our first visit here was on our birthday vacation to Houston in 2018. We decided to return for our 2025 birthday vacation. We visited the restaurant on my birthday which was on Wednesday this year but was still greeted with a line out the door. But we were in, ordered and seated in about 25 minutes. During our wait in line, I had the opportunity to talk with the owner Marcus Davis who is very friendly. We're from KC so we like to try BBQ whenever we travel and of course, Houstonians believe they BBQ is better.......NOT. But he referred us to Triple J's Smokehouse which we tried on another day and enjoyed but still not as good as KC. Back to Breakfast Klub, everything we enjoyed on our first visit they didn't disappoint on this one. The food was still delicious, and we weren't able to eat it all, but packed it to go. The only thing we missed was the DJ that was jammin' old school music back then. There was still music, good people - we also talked to a manager when he stopped by to ask if we we're enjoying ourselves. Once he found out we were from KC he shared his visit to KC and going to a Chiefs game and eating BBQ, but he believes Houston's is better and said his favorite was actually Gatlin's (which we didn't make it there). If you are ever in Houston, you must eat at the Breakfast Klub before you leave. Love it!!!!

Most fun i have had eating out in ages--killer food--fun staff--You deserve to eat here!

By tuc7k |

Red Velvet waffle and wings. OMG!!! Love it at first sight, and loved it more at first bite. Best waffles i have ever eaten--flavor, texture, slight sweetness. Surrounded by absolutely the best southern fried wings i have ever had. These two in combination were the best breakfast i have ever had anywhere, anytime. To admit that despite the wait in line to get in, constantly getting longer as "friends" joined those in line ahead of us (Houston tradition?), is something. Normally, aggravation like that would sour me on a restaurant.....but this food was so extraordinary.....i can't help but rave. Once inside, i understood why a staff member kept coming out to those i line with menus. At the counter, they expect customers to know what to order! Once done, customers get a number and find a place to sit to await food delivery. I wanted coffee and was presented with a cup. It was huge, and held probably 24 ounces of coffee when i filled it. Grabbed a handful of cream and joined my wife at our table. Within a minute, her latte arrived. Same size as my coffee. Huge! Absolutely delicious! She got in a couple of sips, and our food arrived! Rocket fast service! To eat gluten free, she had to quiz 4 staff members before she got Mr. Right. But he was right on about what she could eat......bacon, eggs, house potatoes. No gluten problems days later! Great potatoes--crisp on the outside, meaty inside. Great seasonings. Bacon crisp and thick, just as she likes. Eggs easy over, and perfect yolks. Despite the big surface area, my coffee stayed hot a surprisingly long time. Must have been due to the depth. Presentation of the food from the kitchen was beautiful, and the fact that the staff manager danced it out to our table just made the presentation that much better. i was excited to learn that they had their waffle mix for sale, but since the red velvet had just debuted, it wasn't available to take home. We enjoyed visiting with staff when they had the chance to stop for a minute. Very busy place. Division of labor is amazing, everyone has separate duties, and everything gets delivered quickly, and tables are cleaned and prepped for new users almost as soon as people get up to leave their tables. We got in around 10:45 and there were still people lined up when we left. I envied each of them, imagining what they were about to experience. Great place!

Great food and large portions

By Nigeriandiva |

My friend took me here straight from the airport. The catfish and grits were sooo good! The portion size was large couldn’t finish everything. Food came out quickly and the Bellini was sooo tasty. Friend had the pork chops and loved it.

Great lunch served with a side of incredible customer service

By Chaybee92 |

My family and I ate there for lunch. The line moved fast and the service was excellent. I had the giant BLT and my husband had the Klub sandwich. Both were huge and tasty. My daughter had a giant pancake which was plenty for her. My other daughter had the chicken noodle soup which was a show stopper- savory broth with huge chunks of tender carrots and potatoes. The penne noodles and chicken were succulent and perfectly cooked. Can't wait to go back.

One of the Best Brunch places in Houston

By BritanyNell |

Every time I come here I get the catfish and grits! It is so good! The line to get in can be a little intimidating at first, but I promise it’s worth the wait!

Late night Treat!

By Dawnya S |

We stopped by after the astros game and it was packed! Parking is a pain and the valet is a little slow. The food on the other hand is AWESOME!! We had the two favorites - chicken and waffles and catfish and grits. They were both worth it! Husband says they are the best waffles around. My friend had French toast and said Amazing!! Definitely worth the pain of parking for this little gem! We were in and out in no time!!

The Breakfast Klub Is A Must

By Jean C. Taveras |

The Breakfast Klub is a must do if you’re in the city! Awesome atmosphere, line moves fast, food is delicious and staff is so nice. Went twice while in Houston and I do not regret it.

brunch

By Miriam Rosa Caraballo |

Our waitress for brunch was extremely helpful and polite. We ordered the French Cheeseburger, Wagyu Shortrib, and Jumbo Lump Crab. Let me just say, the home fries and hollandaise that came with the shortrib were amazing! Every bite I took had a little bit of shortrib, egg, sauce, and potato. Their French cheese burger never disappoints. It is a bit in the greasy side, but I can't resist it!

Fun Fast and Fantastic

By Valhallakey |

We were in a bit of a hurry but The Breakfast Klub was the perfect place to get a great breakfast fast. Wish we had had more time to spend there but we had a plane to catch. Definitely recommend it to anyone with... or without a lot of time.

Great place!

By Gumbeaux Galore Neek |

Excellent customer service, friendly workers, and great food! The wait in the line was a bit much but once you make it to the door, it moves pretty quickly. To me, it’s an in the cut restaurant with an upscale vibes.

Breakfast

By bonnie2925 |

This is a must go to place for breakfast. We got here at just the right time to miss the crowd and line which wraps around the building. The staff was friendly and efficient , they provide menus as you wait in line and explain the ordering process. The food was flavorful and came out expeditiously. The portions was a good size and presented well. I would definitely recommend this place.

Flavor on flavor 😋

By Relf25 |

Delicious food and geat staff make up for the long lines. It's so worth the wait!!! Love the decor too. Vibe is dope as hell. Will be back. Special shout out to Ms. Gayle and Mr. Norman

Great Breakfast

By Nicole W |

Any time we come to Houston, we normally come here for breakfast before heading back home. We arrived a bit before 8:30am and the line wasn't long at all, just outside the door entrance. The sweet lady greeted us with menus upon our arrival. We ordered the Wings & Grits (w/scrambled eggs & toast) for me, hubby got the French Toast (w/scrambled eggs & sausage), and the kids shared the Pancakes topped with Strawberries (w/scrambled eggs & sausage) + coffee/OJ/milk/sprite. It was a bit pricey for breakfast but we knew it would be good. We seated ourselves and not too long afterwards, the food arrived. Everything was delicious. They have warm syrup that you can get yourself with other condiments. We had plenty of food to take home to eat later because it was a big plate of food. I'd definitely recommend if in the area. Great food and friendly service.

Eat there

By MackinE89 |

1st. Yes there is a line however, it does move quickly (you can do to go orders as well). The food is great French toast FIRE, pork chops and wings great too. Cat fish was okay all in all very much worth it.

Great food and staff

First time to visit and I will definitely go back. Had a few minutes to wait but it flew by. Staff were friendly and our food was delicious. Very generous helpings. Would highly recommend!

American breakfast 100%

By Halldor E |

This is real American breakfast restaurant. Probably not possible to find better place for that. Everything, staff, indoor decoration and a food very good was so typical. Must to experience this one !

The best😍

By Deanna |

Omg The food was so good and the owner came to our table and check to see if we enjoyed our food he even gave us a bowl of grits and a plate of hashbrowns for free! Great service, good food cant wait to go back again. I love places like this.

Excellent Food & Attentive Service

By Heath F |

Lovely food and very pleasing service. Mr. Deepu attended to us with great care, making us feel comfortable and guiding us through the menu. The Rajasthani dal and desserts were truly top class—full of authentic flavor. A wonderful dining experience that I would happily recommend and return to.

Great Southern Breakfast !!

By Gina P |

What a great southern style breakfast. Out group had the the catfish and grits plate and the chicken and waffles. We were very happy! The service is exceptionally friendly! A fun find!

🤮

By AUSAGUY007 |

I guess this place is so packed because of their advertising and their magazine reviews been here several times what I say it's the best place in Houston to go and wait in line for 30 minutes no way the service is all right but the food does not stand out or stand up to many of the other restaurants in Houston but I guess people will still come and wait in line just so they can try it

Friendly staff and great food! Went for breakfast

By CaliTreasures |

We were the second group in line waiting for them to open on a Saturday, we were serenaded with birthday greetings and a great staff welcome when they opened. Our group of 5 had all different entrees and no one was disappointed.

Houstoneans Breakfast

By Alejandro Raya |

Great! And a lot of food, worth every penny. The service is fast and everyone is very friendly. Either get here early or be prepared to line up to get in.

So Glad I Went

By Andre Thomas |

My girlfriend and I came here and loved it. I had heard that it was a must-visit in Houston and I can see why. We shared the chicken and waffles (so good) and each had a different blend of coffee. Super nice staff and even though the line can extend out of the door and around the block, it's worth it.

Unique and delicious breakfast place!

By Shari M |

Walked in at just the right moment and we were second in line! I doubt that happens often. Heads up, you have to order before getting seated. Not an easy task since they have so many awesome choices. My introvert hubby just quickly stated, “just give me a waffle and 2 eggs,” and promptly disappeared into the crowd. LOL. The sweet cashier said, “wait, how do you want your eggs? Do you want sausage, bacon…?!” Her words fell to the floor as he zipped away! LOL. Anyway, I perused the menu, ordered his sides for his waffle and eggs and ordered the Green Eggs and Ham for myself with biscuit and sausage gravy on the side. The staff here are so helpful and friendly. We had several staff come by to make sure we had everything we needed and one staff member even brought me another biscuit that she had had them butter and grill, “…just for me to try.” She said I’d like it that way…and I did. We loved our breakfasts! Everything was fresh, large helpings and just terrific! About 12:15, a band called jawaD, started playing music. Fortunately, there were still enough tables available, so we were able to stay a while and enjoy the music. Great band! We met some very nice people at The Breakfast Klub and came away feeling like family. We will definitely return when we’re in Houston.

Great downtown breakfast place

By nread |

Very local, nothing fancy, but the people are friendly and the food is great. Relaxing atmosphere and unique menu, not many places have catfish on the breakfast menu, I would recommend and will be going back. The area is a little sketchy especially if you are not lucky enough to get out front parking, I would uber there next time

Amazing southern breakfast

By Jamie M |

There will be a line owing to the top quality offering but shouldn't take too long and is well worth the wait!! Fiance and I had the Catfish (one of the specialities) which was utterly delicious and the pancakes which were superb. The service is super friendly and they also display artwork from local artists adding to the local feel of the place. Definitely recommend!

Sooooo Good!

By simplyyetta |

I got the catfish and grits accompanied with Peach Bellinis... Soooo good. The customer service was AMAZING!

Truly remarkable for the food and the atmosphere

By Emma H |

Queueing to get in set my expectations high and they were met. Catfish and gorgeous grits with eggs, all was just perfect but the biscuit was heavenly, it melted in the mouth. The restaurant is very basic but full to the ceiling with energy and loud wonderful music. The staff kept checking on me, they were gorgeous people. And when I left… the queue was almost 100 yards long… I guess they are known to be good.

WOW!!

By Pamela R |

We Ubered here from our hotel and had no idea there would be a line outside wrapped around the building. I’m glad we didn’t know because we wouldn’t have gone and would’ve missed an INCREDIBLE breakfast! We waited about 45 min, but it only seemed like 10. Once inside we were greeted like we were family. Everyone was Sweetheart, Sugar or Darlin. The wings and waffles were the best I’ve ever had! The breakfast platter description said it came with two eggs- in reality there had to have been 4! The biscuits and gravy left me speechless! After we were stuffed beyond belief we were sent on our way with big hugs and admonitions to not be a stranger and get back there soon.

The Line Speaks For Itself!!

By MzMimi904 |

I heard this place was great... and it lived up to the hype!! Thank God we got there early because less than 30 minutes later, the line was around the building! Great customer service, great atmosphere and great food! What more can I say? (except get there early) 🤗

Great Food, Good people and vibes

By gilleygil |

Great service, excellent food and just all around great vibes. Local art work on display and the music was on point. All the staff was working hard from the 75 yr young lady greeting everyone in line with a menu to the people busing tables. My buddy Carlos from CrossFit Houston recommended the spot. It’s a true gem.

Brunch

By sharondodson |

Best Brunch place I have ever been too. I don't know if I selected the correct one for the area. But that place was very small but just like being at home. Very nice people and that food was so great.

Why the local recommend it!

By Lucy M |

Huge portions, great grits! Catfish and grits were excellent! Waffles and chicken delicious. Down home atmosphere and packed with people. If you havenet been, you need to go!!!

I love this place

By Ashleigh M |

I’ve been coming here for years. I always get the wings and waffles and it is ALWAYS delicious. Yes the line is long, but it moves pretty consistently and the staff that come by to check on those in line are friendly. And most of the times I’ve been there, the owner comes by everyone’s table to say hello.

Worth the wait!!

By Alana G |

I don't know where to start about this place. But I do know one this. It was a Wow moment!! The line was super long when we first got there. Although it moved rather quickly. An employee made the visit rather easy by bring menus out to the line so that we could be ready when time to order. Got in I ordered the chicken and waffle. My boyfriend had an veggie omelette with potatoes! When I say savor every bite that's exactly what I did! It was fantastic! The owner made it a plus. He came around an asked guest how they were doing! Which shows a lot about him and his passion for business. I'm really looking forward to eating here next time I visit.

Go with an appetite!

By Peter C |

We went to The Breakfast Klub on the recommendation of a Houston local, who told us it is a Houston institution. We were not disappointed! While there was a long queue, on the weekends there is an annexe restaurant serving a more limited menu of their signature items. We were happy to skip the line up and eat in the annexe. We were served promptly and the food was plentiful and hot. The staff were kind and asked a couple of times if we needed anything else. There is a bit of a "self serve" element to the annexe, in that you had to help yourself to the beverages you'd ordered, and to cutlery, napkins and condiments. We just looked at what others were doing and did the same. It was no problem. From the signature menu on offer in the annexe, we tried the wings, grits, eggs and biscuit, and waffles with banana, bacon and eggs. Everything was well-cooked, hot and delicious. Who said you can't have fried chicken for breakfast? The portion sizes are very generous, so go with an appetite or be prepared to take some food home with you. We only had breakfast and dinner that day!

Great Grub in Mid Town

Legendary in H-town. Known for their breakfast and lunch menu. Waffles and the klub samich we’re rocking.

FIRST TIME BACK IN OVER 5 YEARS - SO YUMMY

By gailhouston |

Come hungry! Went with another couple and it was great! My husband and I ordered the french toast with bacon and eggs ... More than enough for two people!! The other couple ordered separate meals. One of the people ordered the waffle and wings .. Looked so yummy. Other person ordered french toast. Excellent coffee. Such a cool atmosphere with wonderful music! Highly recommend!

Worth the wait !!! Food and vibe was incredible!!

By Jen C |

We were in town for the Bronco game and went here before the game on a recommendation from another guest at our hotel. This place did not disappoint!!! The food was delicious, the prices were great, and the entire staff was soooo nice and treated us like family. If you are in Houston you MUST go here. Even if there is a line - it’s worth the wait !!!! The portions were huge and the food was delicious!!!

Such a welcoming place!!!

By Melinda |

We loved this place from the open of the door! Ms Gale greeted us with a big smile and just so friendly! We loved the entire vibe from the music(jazz) to the decor! Our food was superb!!! Definitely a must go!!!

You have to come and enjoy the experience.

By Salman B |

A Unique Experience with a fantastic atmosphere 😍😍 try Wings & waffle and katfish Plate 👍🏻👍🏻, it was an amazing experience.

Best waffle ever

By DeeCo |

We've had chicken and waffles in numerous places, but this waffle was the best. The potatoes were also great. I wish I lived near by.

Nothing short of amazing breakfast

By Carrie N |

My husband and I were in Houston on a business trip and found this Houston gem. I had the eggs Benedict and my husband had the chicken and waffles, both were delicious. It is a very family friendly establishment. You first order and then sit down with a number. The food servers will deliver your food when it’s ready. So simple so fast! Everyone was very friendly once you come through the door and throughout the breakfast. Parking was OK but I could see how it could become a problem during peak hours. We were there before 9am on a Sunday and parking wasn’t a problem for us. We recommend and will return if we are in the area again. Thanks for a great Houston soul food breakfast!

Awesome chicken, great service.

By Jannette T |

Excellent service and good. The line was long outside, they have canopies to keep you from the sun. The lines took us about 20 min. You should scan the menu while in line so you know what you want when you get to cashier. The food come out pretty quick. We all had different orders and not one complaint. See pics. I would recommend stopping by. Don’t get scared of the line. The servers are super nice and seem happy to be there. If your order takes too long, they comp you a check wing.

Chicken and waffles

By Jim G |

It lived up the the hype. Good food and healthy portions. Bring your appetite. There is likely a line to get in but worth the wait.

2nd Trip, 2nd Review, 5 STARS!!

By K.B. |

My husband and I visited here on a Monday with our two small children. Upon arrival, the line was out the door (no surprise there) but we had been here once before and knew the line moves relatively fast so we decided to give it a shot. We got in line and had the option to go to their second location that just had opened up so we didn’t have to wait but it had a limited menu so we opted out. But for those reading this review, that is an option. It serves their signature dishes along with mimosas, bloody Mary’s, etc. Even though we decided to wait in the line, it didn’t take long at all to order and get served! And the general manager, Terry, was great! He made sure we got a table that was best suited to accommodate a high chair and booster for my kiddos. He also stopped to chat for a bit and make sure we had everything we needed. THE BEST customer service! Also, need I say that the food was PHENOMENAL?? Because it was. Overall, were impressed even more so on our second visit and I can guarantee we will be back. Already ready!

Loved it!

By xxxx |

Outstanding all the way around! Great food (highly recommend the grits, sausage patties and biscuits), excellent atmosphere (like a jazz club), and outstanding service (manager even came by our table to check on us). We went when they opened (7:00 a.m.), there was no wait. But it’s worth the wait!

Lovin' me some breakfast

By David M |

You know a place is good when there's a line outside. Showed up 9-ish, line down the sidewalk. Do not walk away! The line moves fast and the food and the people are worth the short wait! So friendly. Tasha was the greeter the day we were there and she's a sweetheart! Every person in there was engaging and obviously loved working there. I had the catfish and grits. Generous portion, catfish was delicate and crispy. Grits obviously fresh. The potatoes Obrien were fresh as well. Make the time to have breakfast here if you're in Houston!

Wings and Waffles Please!

By msrita25 |

I recommend anyone visiting Houston to give The Breakfast Klub a try! Not only is the service great but the food is amazing. The wings and waffles is where it’s at.

Outstanding food and service!

By Tterb83 |

Outstanding food and service! The experience was memorable. The line moved quickly and the staff were all incredibly kind, attentive and thankful! Get the chicken and waffles!

Ohhhhh emmmmm GEEEEEE!

By Poolely |

The wait was a little long, but as more and more people showed up, I realized I must be in a good place. So as we entered we noticed one thing right away.... THE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! It is GREAT! They definitely handle the crowd WELL. From the door guy, to the Cashier, to the Bus Boys. Even the Manager stopped by to say hi (Although he was awfully tight lipped about that fried chicken marinade)... I had the Chicken and Waffles and I can HONESTLY SAY THESE WERE THE BEST WINGS I HAVE EVER HAD!!! They food, the service ugh.. ALL top notch. If you are in Houston, do yourself a favor... Visit the Breakfast Klub.

What the what!! Best breakfast EVER!!

By Brittany |

I wish I could rate this higher than 5 stars. Walking up and having someone who works there call you baby ... heaven to my ears! The service is great. The ladies are wonderful. The food. Oh my gosh the food. GET THE WINGS AND WAFFLES! Get them right now. I’m not exaggerating I’m being serious. I have a thing for chicken and waffles and I saw it was a specialty of theirs. They were perfectly seasoned wings (although not what usually comes with chicken and waffles.) the waffle was good too. I loved how all the condiments were self serve. The syrup was piping hot. There were SIX types of self serve coffee ranging from decaf to dark roast. I also have a thing for coffee and yes it was very good too. I even got a to go cup like the pens at Starbucks and made me a fresh cup before leaving. It was just so good I’ll definitely be going back.

Long wait but will go back for great breakfast

By tishcitric |

We had a 30 minute wait on a Friday morning. Also, parking can be difficult to find close to the restaurant. Fortunately, once you are inside and placed your order the food comes quickly. We ordered Kountry Sausage & Eggs, Wings & Waffle and French toast. All 3 orders were excellent; however, the smoked country links are too salty for my taste. I Hate the wait but will go back for the great food and the service is very good.

Don’t be put off by the ques

By Mossleyhill |

Although the ques are big it moves fast and is worth the wait. The interior isn’t the best the food is why you go. Don’t worry if you miss this as there is a concession at the airport.

Soooo good!

By Whitney Koonce |

Simply amazing! Quick and friendly service. Loved the family feel and homey vibes. We ordered the French toast, the wings and waffles and a side of grits. Everything was fantastic! We will be back.

Don't order curbside or to-go

By Dee J |

Do not use their curbside pickup. It takes an entire hour to pick up your to-go items after placing your order. You have to wait until everyone in line has placed their order. Extremely unprofessional. The manager came out to my car and told me that I should get in the back of the line. His request makes the curbside pointless. I was trying to stay safe, and most people in line were not wearing masks. They need to organize their curbside orders better. Most restaurants have someone appointed to manage their to-go orders. Also, most restaurants can fill their to-go orders in less than 20 minutes and run them concurrently with in-house orders. This experience was devastating. I had placed my order as a Father’s Day surprise. After the manager came out to my car and uncaringly told me that I should stand in line to get my curbside order, I called the restaurant and canceled my order. I live 30 miles from the restaurant, so this was a complete waste of my gas and time. Please take more of a human-centered approach to supporting the needs of all your loyal consumers.

Some of the best food I had in Houston.

By Chillie |

Visited on the last day of my trip to Houston. And I can truly say I saved the best for last. There was a line when we arrived but it moved quickly. The service was excellent. The food was cooked fresh and delicious. This was my first time but it won’t be my last. The cocktails were🔥🔥

Ah-mazing

By Mia J |

Delicious! Don’t let the long line deter you! Well worth the wait. Fast service, fresh, well seasoned food. Everything was great. Absolutely no complaints.

Waffles and Wings 10/10

By Hannah L |

I had heard great things about the Breakfast Klub. I arrived at 7.45am on a Saturday and there was already a long line. I had to wait 30 mins or so but it was worth it! I ordered the popular chicken wings and waffles and an orange juice. It was hands down the best waffle / chicken wings I’ve ever had - so tasty! The portion was huge though so could not nearly finish it. Highly recommended!

Breakfast Klub is a must.

By Kristal |

Breakfast Klub is a must. Everything we had was so good. You won’t be disappointed. Line was pretty long but it was well worth the wait.

Good things come to those who wait

By jenledet |

Arrived on a Saturday around 1:00 to a massive line around the building to get in. The line moved fast and we were in and ordering by 1:40. We ordered the waffle and wings, eggs Benedict and biscuits and gravy. The wings were off the chart! Fresh, hot and just the right amount of spicy- mild enough to make you wonder if it was spicy or not. The Benedict was two poached eggs piled on thick ham and bacon on top of a biscuit. They pour turkey hollandaise on top- I asked for it on the side. The staff were very friendly and despite being an order at the counter type of place, they checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything. We almost left because the line was so long but- I think it was worth it!

Wait in line, It's worth it.

By Mike W |

This is a unique breakfast place. When a place asks you if you want your easy-over eggs with runny yolk and/or runny whites, you know it is good. There is a long line out the door, which is another good sign. The line moves quickly because this place has an ingenious system of moving people through, with ordering and paying at the counter and then sitting with a number, with someone overseeing it all to let the right number of people in at a time. About a 5 minute wait at 0800, and worth it. We had the green eggs and ham and the breakfast klub sandwich. Both fabulous, and simple. Grits are delightful--light, good corn flavor, not too much butter. Also good coffee, self serve in paper cups. Not fancy at all, kind of like a shack, but great food and friendly staff, and a very relaxed, urban atmosphere with great R&B tunes playing inside and out. Parking on the street was easy.

Best breakfast of my life

By Liztravelsandeats |

I love breakfast. It is my favorite meal of the day. I was so impressed with my breakfast Klub sandwich it was the best breakfast I have had in my life. No words. This is a must eat breakfast spot in Houston.

FABULOUS COMFORT FOOD BREAKFAST

By OHZ W |

got take out breakfast on Sept 10th while visiting my daughter in Houston TX. I got sausage & gravy & biscuits with homefries fried extra brown, my daughter got french toast, her husband got western omelette with a side of homefries & biscuit. MY GOODNESS IT WAS DELICIOUS, PERFECT COMFORT FOOD BREAKFAST. A MUST VISIT. WARNING: the place always gets blitzed, IT IS NON STOP BUSY, that's why we called in a take out.

Lunch Before Getting On The Road

By Cynthia S |

This was my third or fourth time going to TBK. The fast three times I ordered the chicken and waffles. This was always good. However, this time I ordered pancakes, with pattie sausage, eggs, and potatoes. Everything was amazing. The line was quick, maybe 15 minutes. Food came out in about 10 minutes. I love the casual environment and paintings. Lastly, the staff is amazing.

Perfect! 6 Stars!

By Randy P |

Need a 6 Star option for The Breakfast Club! A perfect restaurant. Such an ENERGETIC and WELCOMING staff, from the person handing out menus and corralling the line (they get busy at lunch time), to our cashier who took our order (and gave us a small plate of wings on the house, because they’re so proud of them, and we didn’t order any...will be back to buy more), to the manager who checked on our table after we got our food, to the SUPER FRIENDLY busers, cleaning the tables. All of us were first timers, and everyone loved their meals, including the Klub Benedict, biscuits and gravy, and omelets. Must stop for every future visit to Houston!

Best Breakfast in Houston, TX

By cypjg |

Where do I start? It’s hard to find the words to describe how amazing the food is at the Breakfast Klub. I give you my word, that every single solitary dish I have tried is amazing! Fried chicken, catfish, pork chops, pancakes, grits, breakfast potatoes, biscuits, toast….everything is phenomenal that it’s hard to make a selection of what to eat, each and every time we visit. My absolute favorite restaurant in Houston, TX. It’s worth the wait people. Trust me!

Ambrosial Southern Breakfast

By PebblesTR |

They serve southern style breakfast selections. Chicken waffles are famous. They have enough room for large groups. It may be noisy but worth it. Even writing makes me hungry!!! :) Delicious foods await you.. Just go and give it a try, you won't regret.

MUCH HYPE, BUT A STRANGE PLACE

By QueenStreetLaw |

Located in the"middle of nowhere", this is basically a self-service place for those who want to eat large portions. The coffee is good, the pancakes are good too, The food is good but nothing amazing. There are long lineups on weekends. If you drive by, it is definitely worth trying, but not worth a special trip.

Hate Lines, Love This Place!

By GrandTX |

Normally, I won't wait in line for casual food. Houston has way too many restaurants for me to feel it worth it. EXCEPT it is totally worth the line (which does move fast). I am also not a fan of chicken wings with my waffles, but I was completely wrong. Not only are they the best wings I've ever had, it is on a very short list of the best fried chicken I've ever had. My wife loved the catfish and my pre-teen daughter had french toast. Everything was amazing. We drive down from The Woodlands and intend to do it on a regular basis.

Best Breakfast in H-Town!

By Travelin' Pam |

Finally made it to breakfast klub, and we will definitely return. This eclectic, southern restaurant reminds me of the charm of a New Orleans diner. Breakfast klub brings breakfast to a whole new level. Hubby tried the fried fish and grits an I had the green eggs, ham and biscuit. Everything was delicious. Huge servings--the dishes are definitely shareable. This will be my "go to" breakfast restaurant for times when we have family in town.

Got there at 7:45 a.m. at last moment before initial seating of restaurant is lined up outside for 8:00 a.m. opening on Saturdays. Placed order for non-runny sunny side up eggs but they came over easy anyway though blessedly not runny with barely cooked bacon but perfect grits and biscuit. The fourth of our foursome's breakfast didn't come until we other three were half finished but was made up with a complimentary order of chicken wings (delicious) and, when placed on the table, the return of his money IN CASH next to his plate. My bacon, after being returned to kitchen to "crisp" did come back crispy enough. All in all everything was great so I'd go back again with better ordering skills: ask for medium eggs to get non-runny whites, crisp bacon, and that all orders come together.

Best Fried Porkchop

By Jeffrey |

Never knew a fried pork chop can be this flavorful and tenderness. It's available for breakfast which seems to be a norm here in Houston. Will try the fried chicken next time.

Consistent!

By mstravelrx |

I love Breakfast Klub! Not only is the food always hot, fresh and GOOD, but the customer service is consistently exceptional! Even waiting in line, you’re made to feel welcome and they never take your business for granted. Thanks Gail/Gayle at the register for having a contagiously fun and positive attitude! This is an H-Town gem and a must-stop for visitors. EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS GOOD💕😂

Worth the Hype

By Tiffany Machelle |

I have only ordered the Chicken & Waffles here, but they are consistent and the wings are absolutely delish. I've even ordered to-go and picked up several times, all the way from the Humble area. I heard they now offer alcohol (is that right?), which is a great way to get me to come dine in again. The dining area is on the small side, but it fits the family atmosphere that this restaurant embodies. The lady at the door was the nicest and most helpful person I've experienced at a restaurant in a long time. She really seemed to enjoy her job. I asked for the restroom and the guy directed me upstairs. Upstairs? Yeah, the employees laughed when I asked where the stairs were, the guy played a trick on me! Found the RR and came back to sit down and saw the guy that sent me the wrong direction. He was taking pictures with some people near the front. Found out he was the owner LOL! We laughed it out and now I have an experience at the infamous Breakfast Klub that I'll never forget. Anytime I pass this place, the line is outside. If the line is outside at any restaurant, you'd better go get in it. This place is worth the wait. Bonus for small business owners....they were offering vendor tables to come out on Saturday and sell your items to those waiting in line. This is what helping the community is all about and I can't do anything but support those who want to help others. Check the website to see if they still offer if interested, it's been awhile since I've dined in. They definitely have enough customers to promote your items to. Of course I'll be back and I'll make sure that I have on the right shoes to wait in line :)

Interesting

This restaurant was suggested by hotel concierge. We arrive and didn't know the process so we asked. You stand you in lane waiting to get to the counter, you place your order and take your number to any open table. You get your drinks, silverware, etc. They bring only your food out to the table. What I didn't like is them asking about a tip when you order and pay. We tipped, not knowing the process. However, if i know i was doing everything I wouldnt have. Food was ok, I had french toast, potatoes were excellent and wings. Wings were big for my taste, but flavorful. My husband had pancakes that were hugh, but he aid not tasty, wings (he had the same reaction) and we shared potatoes. He ordered a side biscuit that he said was really good.

Big Hearty Breakfast

By R D |

If you have a hankering for a large hearty breakfast, this is the place. Wow is it good and well run. I had the “French Toast” while my wife had the “Pancakes”. Each came with two eggs made to order and a serious side of meat (your choice). You order at the counter, grab your silverware, napkins, and condiments before nabbing a table. There is quite a bit of seating and they do a big carry out business. So don’t let a long queue dissuade you. The service is excellent and the staff is welcoming. We brought a one year old grandchild and felt right at home. He loved the food.

Huge portions

Stumbled here on accident after another place was closed for breakfast. Insane portion sizes. Good options and overall very tasty. You order at the front and sit down - the line goes fast. Plenty of parking across the street.

Wonderful breakfast experience

By Kmgaynes |

We were in town for the Final Four and came here for breakfast. There was a line but it was perfectly managed by Miss Mary and she had our party of six all situated very quickly. Everyone who works here is amazingly kind and helpful. The food was delicious and filling. We had a variety of food from pancakes to eggs Benedict. The manager, Terry, came around and he was a very personable man. We enjoyed the relaxed, casual atmosphere and will definitely recommend it to others and we hope to be back on our next trip.

One of the older cool places now, but still worth a visit, and worth every penny!

There's a lot more brunch competition in Houston now; however, the Breakfast Klub is still hard to beat. I have been several times and just went again this past weekend. The waffles are still crisp, and the fired chicken is still to die for! The ladies at the door still treat you like they knew you before you got there.

We arrive at TBK and the line

By 1BSHICKS1995 |

We arrive at TBK and the line was out the door. But they had a seasoned young lady outside talking to you which made the wait not bad. We told her we were from DC and we talked about the weather, my daughter’s higher education, etc. and she gave us a menu. We ordered our food, took a number and sat down. This is when my stomach got excited. I shared the chicken and waffles and I have had this combination at other establishments but not as favorable as this chicken with a little Cajun Chef hot sauce which was also good. The hot sauce was so good I tried to find it in the grocery store. While we were eating the manager offer us a sample of gris and fried potatoes. I only ate it. Can I say AMAZING! I love grits and these were good without adding my usual salt, pepper and sugar but it probably didn’t need my usual because of all the other flavors I had with the chicken and waffles. The potatoes were also good with red, green peppers and onions. I will definitely try to re-create those potatoes. You gotta go try TBK!!

Good Food

By Desiree G |

They have good food, not excellent, not worth waiting hours in line for. If you want to go just to say you went because of they hype go ahead. Houston is usually hot and I do not think it is personally worth the wait. There are so so many great brunch places in town that are on a higher level than this place. average.

Did We Love It: The Breakfast Klub (Houston, TX)

By Kristiweb |

Cuisine: Breakfast, Soul Food Menu Choice: Me: Katfish and Grits - Seasoned katfish fillet and grits served with potatoes or eggs and choice of toast or biskit. Jai: Wings & Waffle - A golden Belgian waffle surrounded by 6 wing pieces and topped with powdered sugar & a strawberry Food: Chiiiiiile. That's all I got. You have to respect a restaurant who doesn't try to overload their menu with mediocre offerings. The Breakfast Klub knows what is does, and does it well. Their twist of the staple southern meal of catfish and grits was absolutely delicious.  It was perfectly seasoned and as equally perfectly fried. I know someone's Ma Dear is back there in the kitchen. I don't care what anyone says. Jai raved about her wings and waffles as well. From the SMALL bite she offered, I can tell that the waffle was light and fluffy, and paired well with the tender wings. I wish I could tell you more about it, but I was afraid I would get a fork print in my hand. For the morning sippers among us, they have pre-made bellinis, bloody mary's, margaritas and mimosas. Service: The best thing that ever happened to the Breakfast Klub is their greeter, Miss Mary. She was our introduction the restaurant and got us ready to love the food. Her infectious smile and the true joy she exhibited was so refreshing. She is definitely a gem. Environment: If you have heard anything about the Breakfast Klub, I am sure the LONG ASS LINES. Here is a pro tip, right across the parking lot from the HUGE lines of the larger Breakfast Klub building, is the Breakfast Klub Signature Kafe. The lines was considerably shorter and the menu is a streamlined version of their best menu choices. What to Wear: Very come as you are.  Overall: 5 out of 5. Great experience. Definitely worth the hype. Nothing else to say.

A MUST…go to The Breakfast Klub when in Houston

Great Southern Food

One Line Worth Standing In

Breakfast is exceptional so be prepared for a long wait but one you won’t be sorry for. The cheese grits and catfish were yummy. Hadn’t had this for breakfast but loved the fare. A great food combination and very ample portions. Staff are very attentive and welcoming- they make you feel special!
