Large space in the Marina. The food was good, a lot of choices. My dining partners had the burger, which was recommended, and it did not disappoint them. It was a very very noisy place, I don't make it out to the Marina much but I think it might be typical (old frat boys and girls in groups on the prowl). Make a reservation, it gets crowded.

We stopped in during one day of sightseeing because we were starving and the menu looked pretty good. We had a kale salad, burger and half/half fries, and another sandwich that I cannot remember the name of. It wasn't that crowded and the cocktails we had were also very good. The service could have been better, but it was a great on the hunch find with some outdoor seating in a cute neighborhood. I could see it being a good happy hour, after work spot!

I ate outside on a nice day here and it was really a great setting. The food however, is about as average as it gets. I had the roasted chicken avocado salad sandwich, the bread was good but there was so much avocado salad I couldn't taste the chicken. The others in the group said their food was only OK as well. The setting is great as mentioned, and while the wait staff is very nice, the service was average at best as well.

In late afternoon, the tables were filled with people happily consuming after-work drinks and snacks. The pretzel knots with mustard dip and cheese dip were delectable. The grilled meat flatbread pizza was awesome and I would return just for it. The margarita with hot peppers was fantastic. I like the atmosphere and design but expect it could get noisy as others have reported; the noise level was fine during our Friday visit. The Brixton has great happy hour specials on many food items and drinks from 3-7 M-F; definitely worth a visit then!

We called in here for a drink and stayed to eat. Friendly efficient service. It was full but we got seats at the bar and ate there. Nothing fancy - I had meatballs and my wife tacos. Both were excellent. Recommended.

We had an early dinner (6:30) on a Thursday night. The Brixton has a wonderful atmosphere with a fireplace and a nice stretch of bar. The menu is limited somewhat but there were enough choices for everyone. The deviled eggs were great. 2 of us got the hamburg with fries. These were cooked to order correctly. The fries can be potato or sweet potato or mixed. I got the mixed and they were very good although not very crispy. The other 2 of us got the half chicken. It had mushrooms on top and was on a pile of mash potatoes. If I go back, I will get this dish. It was scarfed down and yummy. The desserts were delightful and very reasonably priced. Our waitress was very pleasant and checked on us often enough. As the evening progressed, the place got more crowed and became very very noisy. I understand this, because the place is really more of a pub with food as a side item. But, it made conversation tough.

We stumbled on this place a couple of years ago, and now visit every trip to San Francisco. Sometimes we will just order drinks and sometimes we will order food. Either way, we have never been disappointed. This place is very hip, but very comfortable. Mostly a local crowd gives this place a great vibe. The food is incredible and consistent. The french fries are some of my favorites. And, they have some great veggie options if someone in your group is a Vegetarian. They also have a great menu of bar drinks, so don't be afraid to experiment here.

Visited for the mcgregor v mayweather fight, bar was packed creating a great atmosphere. Didn't overload either so had space to enjoy the fight. Drinks were nice with loads of selection. We had 2 spicy mac n cheese to share between 4 and all agreed it was amazing, so tasty! Definitely worth trying. Also had some sweet potato fries which were nice & cooked well. Would recommend visiting

For me visiting i kinda expected the crowd.. why do every 20-30 year old look alike in SF?? anyways pretty crowded Sunday (NFL thou) and yet service was good, our server was funny and checked back often. The food was really good, i don't typically like french fries normally but the sweet potato one's were good..the burger was really good. Overall good place for burger and beer!

This is my second time at this place (the visits were three years apart) and it was just as good or better than I remembered. We had an AMAZING lunch this time. The people working there are nice, the drinks were super but the show was the food. You can't miss, seriously CANNOT miss the mussels with chorizo. Out of this world. I now know I have to go every time I'm in San Francisco.

Nice meal at the Brixton as a family of three - food was good but unfortunately we were beside the rowdy table ! Would have been fine but yesterday we were allowed in reluctantly just for drinks as tables were "reserves for diners" - we had a table beside us of 4 who were eating then another 6 or so came along - not dining but very drunk and loud !!!even the birthday girl missed her birthday dessert with candles -- I thought the tables were reserved for diners .....!!!!

Great lunch in great atmosphere. Portions not too big. Good seasoning of food and nicely presented. And good service. Recommended.

The weekend brunch at The Brixton may be one of those most underrated and tasty brunches i've had in SF in a long time. The fried chicken egg benedict i indulged in had flavorful, juicy chicken, perfectly done poached eggs, creamy hollandaise, all no fluffy english muffins. The deviled eggs were pretty tasty too. Great service, reasonable prices. The only ding with The Brixton...is the pretty obnoxious Fratty crowd, which can be easily solved if you go early. We made 11a reservations (another plus- online resv), took our time indulging in brunch, and left at 12.30p when the fratty crowd started rolling in. Perfect timing Highly recommend for brunch.

GREAT food and one of the best salads I have ever had. Good service as well. We would go back again. A bit noisy but most places are on Union Street.

We were here on a busy Wednesday night. Great menu with a lot of varied options. Food was served quickly, simple and delicious. Plenty of TVs for those interested in catching a game.

A very hip setting, music at the right level, the Firey Mac & Cheese is to die for!! Ginger veggies with ahi tuna was amazing and we had Rob as our server who was funny and patient with us as we were catching up and taking our time. Good wine selection and decent prices.

We found this place by accident. After hours of walking and visiting the Union Street shops, we needed sustenance. We poked our heads inside and the staff were welcoming and helpful and happy to help us choose something suitable. Other reviews are very mixed but we couldn't have found a better place for a great lunch. Great soups and salads by the way. Has A great bar though we don't drink. a great bar

The food was good but a little pricey for what you get... The Caesar salad was different and good. The spaghetti was also good

Stopped in for Sunday brunch - the carnitas hash was very, very tasty. Food came out quickly and was hot. Service was mediocre - hey, how about a refill on my coffee? The biggest problem with the space is that its very loud. The vibe is very yuppy. Very Abercrombie/Hilfiger - like most of the Marina. If you're in the neighborhood, it's fine, but unless you're meeting up with Tad and Buffy for a pre-yacht meal, there are other neighborhoods to explore.

I happened to dine here alone, and found it a comfortable spot. I sat at the bar, and had excellent service. Casual, woody, pub like atmosphere, High top and regular tables, with several TVs in various sizes around the large main room. Menu is simple comfort food, salads, tacos, the basics. My chicken beet salad was tasty and was delivered within five minutes of my order. There is also an excellent Happy Hour on weeknights.

Bar is really cool inside but our party of 4 sat out on the patio to enjoy the sunshine. Ended up staying quite a few hours and having appetizers and wine. Only downside with the service. Server had no interest in being helpful even though we ended up with a $500 bill. We arrived before lunchtime and inquired about a particular appetizer (with a SF local that had been there before). She denied that they had it at all. When we finally got the lunch menu, low and behold, it was on there. Would go back to sit at the bar, though.

Just back after a fantastic evening at The Brixton and still smiling. Allie was the mixer in our cocktail of fun and kept coming back to our table to check our smiles were big enough! The steak was to die for and the service was superb, but on top of this, the icing on the cake if you will, was Allie teaching us the rules of Baseball. She rocks the kasbar and no restaurant is complete without an Allie - she even conjured up some magic chocolates on request when my friend got a craving! Every city needs a Brixton, but only San Fran has one...so go there!

Stopped for solo brunch after a walk with friends in the neighborhood. First, I must say that the deviled eggs were quite good and that’s a rarity for most restaurants. So why average? The place was pretty quiet at 11am, so having lackluster service shouldn’t have been an issue, but it was. Secondly, not hard to make an avocado toast BLT, but why cold bacon for a freshly ordered sandwich in the morning? That was disappointing. The open-faced toasted sandwich was good otherwise. Skip the hash browns; they’re pretty much McDonald’s style hash browns. Fast food quality for a dine in establishment, another missed opportunity. The Bloody Mary Bar is a nice novelty, that I enjoyed.

Walked in because the menu offered a good selection of salads and we were looking for alternatives to traditional eggs based breakfast/brunch items. The server at the bar was very nice and prompt, brought us outstanding bloody Mary's with a salt/sugar/chili powder rim. Two chicken salads were generous and tasty, cornmeal fried chicken and braised chicken with beets. Place was packed with college age loud and rowdy kids, well behaved but made the place difficult to talk, linger, enjoy fully. But food and service were excellent if a bit pricey for the atmosphere..

Looking for a place to eat while visiting my son. I suggested The Brixton and he didn’t know they served food. I’m paying so it’s my choice. Anyways, the vibe is totally local bar, but I was a little leery about the food. My son and I had the burger, super tasty. Looks like a McDonald Quarter Pounder, but way elevated. Really good - $25 good? Not sure. My wife had a Mediterranean Cobb Salad and really enjoyed it. My daughter-in-law had the chicken breast. She enjoyed it, but again was it $29 good - she said she’d as soon cook a chicken breast at home. Bottom line, food was well prepared and tasty, but somewhat expensive. We’d all definitely return for drinks as the ambiance is pretty chill.

I had the unfortunate experience of having brunch here today. My husband and I ordered a Caesar salad with avocado and eggs with bacon, hash browns and toast. We got our drinks, but had to ask for sweetner. Then we had to ask for teaspoons and a knife and napkins. Forks were on the table. I was served my toast first by a bewildered looking server and ten minutes later my entree, so by that time the toast was cold. The eggs were cold, the bacon barely cooked, and the hash browns looked like they came from McDonalds. My husband's salad consisted of limp romaine lettuce and completely devoid of avocado or dressing. We waited for what seemed forever to flag down our server, but no one came around to check on us. Finally, we got up and left. The foods here is abysmal and the service even worse. Avoid it at all costs. There are better restaurants on this street in which to spend your money.

We got into San Francisco late on a Friday and needed a place nearby to get something to eat. We shared a cab with a young gentlemen who resided in the neighborhood where we were staying and he suggested this establishment. If I were to try and pigeon-hole this place is most like a Gastro-Pub. Great bar, with plenty of adult beverage options, plus an interesting menu. We didn't want a lot of food so we opted for a couple appetizers. The food showed up quickly and was plenty hot. Pretzel knots and a sizeable meatball were plenty of food. That didn't stop us from having a little pot de creme for dessert. It is quite loud inside, obviously catering to the younger, vociferous crowd, but the food was good, waitstaff attentive, and it was quite close to where we were staying in the Marina District. Recommended.

Wondering around Union Street in Pacific Heights and we stumbled across The Brixton and planted ourselves down for an early lunch. The service was really friendly and attentive. We had sandwiches and salads and all were really tasty & fresh. Wine list is adequate and well priced. If in the area well worth stopping in for a bite like locals.

We were so impressed with the prime rib. The ambiance is cool. We will go back. They also had a great selection of wine, which was a great surprise. The waiter talked us into the prime rib. Glad he did.

I stopped in here with friends on a Friday night. It's a cool bar and place to get drinks. It reminded me of East Coast bars. I was impressed that even though there was a wait to get in it never got too crowded and there was no cover.

A friend and I stopped by for dinner. The restaurant was quiet, partly due to the weather and being a Monday night. After the recommendation from our waitress, we both ordered the Miso Ahi Tuna Salad. It was FANTASTIC!! The salad was a good portion size for dinner and included seared rare ahi, organic mixed baby greens, cucumbers, red onions, edamame, seaweed, cherry tomatoes, sesame seeds, ginger-white soy vinaigrette. The salad paired nicely with a glass of riesling. I definitely recommend dinner here for girls night, date night, work dinner, or with the family. I will come back again when I am in San Francisco again.

I really like this place that is located in a nice neighborhood in San Francisco. Love the style and the fireplace.

I like this place. It's a nice room and the food is really good. For a rock and roll themed atmosphere, the menu stretches way beyond the usual pub grub in to some downright healthy alternatives. E.g., I ordered the avocado toast and Kale salad and both were excellent. This is a good spot for lunch on Union over the weekend for sure.

I was there last weekend and the place was packed with good looking people. My wife and I really enjoyed the vibe! We have been there in the past for dinner during the week and it looked a bit dead, but it is definitely a different place on the week-end. Highly recommended!

Food over priced and nothing special. Rude server and bar tender. Much better restaurants in the neighborhood

This is one of my frequent brunch spots in the city as they make a mean John Daly and know how to make their manhattan's right. The food is pretty on point as well and i enjoy their white wine selection

I really want to like this place. This was my 2nd visit after a very meh first experience but the same issues remain. The drinks are lovely, but the service is super slow. The app of shishito peppers was great and ample. But my spaghetti with prawns was just OK, not a lot of flavor and nothing I'd order again. And my date's steak was super-tough, we expected a better quality of meat here than what you would get at a diner. Again, come for drinks and maybe a happy hour snack or two and you'll walk away happy. Come for dinner and you just might want to walk away.

We had a large group which included children. What I really appreciated was that the kid's meals arrived quickly and before the adults. The orders were placed and not long after the kid's food arrived followed by the adult's appetizers. It did take a while to get the check at the check, but for the most part the service was very good. The food opinions ranged from "outstanding" (brussel sprouts), to nothing special (cesear salad), to a little heavy on the seasoning (steak), to good (hamburger & fries ordered separately). The only down side for us was that it was very loud and difficult to have a conversation with someone across the table from you.

Went here with coworkers to watch a Warriors game. It's very loud so it's hard to have conversations, but if you're going for a game you're probably not talking too much anyway. Food was decent enough, it's bar food but better than bar food.

I am sure for the young bar scene this place is great, my review is just based on a quick stop for a in between day and night time drink and snack. I ordered some cucumber basil drink (forgetting name) and it tasted like vodka with sweet&sour mix and nowhere on the ingredients did it list using sweet&sour mix as if it did I would not have ordered it, needless to say I didn't order a second one. We also got the spinach artichoke dip with crostini which is a favorite of mine but this was bland and the crostini seemed stale-ish. Again clearly this is a place for 20 somethings to drink and mingle so not sure what I expected.

Think of London pubs and think again. This is a stylish take on London pubs in a cool area of San Francisco. Beautifully decorated and spacious with a great atmosphere. We spent a Sunday afternoon there having a long and delicious lunch amongst locals hanging out and watching the game on the big screens.

This place get a high score for having a good atmosphere and it's great for a large group. The decor is better than your average bar. The place has tall ceilings and lots of open space. There are some fun drinks on the menu including a cocktail with ginger beer that's pretty tasty. The food is just OK. I'll probably go here again since it's a good middleground to bring together those in your group who want to go to a dive bar with people who want to go somewhere fancy.

The service was wonderful. Staff was very attentive and helpful. They actually stood out a lot in terms of how good the service was. They have a nice happy hour. I found the food underwhelming. The burger looked good but to me it tasted more like a fast food burger. The clam chowder was good, nothing special but pretty good for chowder. The deamon eggs and artichoke dip were also OK, both concepts were good but I felt like they were missing some flavor. I will say though that the salad was really good and decently priced at $12. They seem to have a good salad selection on the menu so I think I would return for salads and a drink during the day. The food feels like they are trying really hard and are almost there but just missing the mark a bit.

Apparently the best burger my son had eaten all holiday! Big bar/restaurant with a young atmosphere. Service was excellent and food matched. Enjoyed a couple of beers before happy hour ended at 7pm. I had a huge chicken salad with walnuts and couscous, highly recommended. Chips/fries were also superb according to the boys. Good find, if you're passing give them a go. They also ordered a taxi for us which topped of the visit!

My husband and I do in-home wine tastings all over the Bay Area. When we have one in the city but we need to eat, we first find the address where the tasting is to take place. Then we drive around until we find parking. Yesterday we just happened to find parking right in front of The Brixton. Even better, it just happened to be Happy Hour! I ordered the Organic Bee's Knees cocktail (yummy, not too sweet, very refreshing). My husband and I shared the 1/2-1/2 fries (1/2 potato 1/2 sweet potato) for only $3 during happy hour. We also had the French Onion Dip for with homemade potato chips for only $5 during happy hour. And as an extra we had the deviled eggs with crab. I really couldn't taste the crab, but the eggs were delicious. The building is beautiful. Our server was very friendly. It was a happy accident that we found parking in front of the Brixton.

We stopped in for drinks and a rest while sightseeing. We really enjoyed the drinks and the atmosphere. The other patrons were really nice as well. We meant to come back to try the food but just never made it.

Went for dinner on Monday night and it was active but not too busy which was nice. Our group was able to hang out in a back booth for a while without being ushered out. For dinner we had chicken tacos, baked chicken and salmon and all were decent. I wouldn't rave about the food but it was good. Honestly the best part of the meal was the homemade ice cream. We had 3 flavors: maple bourbon, fluffernutter and vanilla something and all were very tasty!!! The drink selection was good but the mixed drinks were a little on the weak side and the bartender wasn't the friendliest. Overall it was a good experience and we would visit again.

We were quite knackered our first day of hiking the hill streets of San Francisco, so we venture around the corner from our hotel and found this wonderfully lively foodie scene. Every bistro/cafe seemed packed with excitement, so we procured a street side table and enjoyed our well-prepared food, whilst people watching and replaying our day's excursion.

We stopped in for some soup, the service was very good and the soup was yummy! Nice atmosphere, would eat here again.

Great place, hip, somewhat loud (but not distrubing), good old Rock Music such as Rolling Stones. Great food with several organic choices, and very good service!!

Nice place to get a drink...especially on Wednesdays when they have half price wines. Nice crowd and great staff. Food is ok.

We were getting ready to start the Union Street Wine Walk and decided to grab a quick bite. Having read the reviews on the Brixton, we decided to give it a try on a Thursday afternoon. We were greeted promptly and chose to be seated outside where we could do some people watching on Union. The carnitas street tacos took a while to prepare but the taste was amazing. The guacamole and roasted chipotle salsa were perfect additions. Topped off with a very well made Moscow Mule, the stop was all that I hoped. The spinach artichoke dip was perfect for our vegetarian. Unfortunately we didn't stay longer but would definitely stop here again when back in that area of SF as we have to try some of their signature drinks. Service was spot on.

We were originally seated inside which was extremely noisy so we asked to be seated at a table out front. The noise outside was much better and it was fun to see people walking by. The food was great. We had the crab cakes, clam chowder, Spaghetti and burger. All were delicious and flavorful. By the time we left the bar was full of people standing around. I would sit outside if you want to have a dinner where you can talk to each other!

Friendly staff and a lively atmosphere make this the perfect place for a dinner in an area away from the tourist traps. The food is yummy, the entrees huge. We enjoyed the flatbread pizza and their salads.

We needed a place to grab lunch before our Walt Disney Family Museum Tour. We searched online and noticed this place was fairly close by. It was a cute drive going through presidio and passing by some of the ornate architecture on the houses in the area. We found street parking right near the restaurant. There was outdoor seating that opened into the bar and interior. We opted for a large booth inside. Along the walls as your enter the restaurant you will see posters for musicians like The Runaways and The Clash. You will also hear tunes from Queen and other bands of that era. The food was great. We tried the chicken taco appetizer, the corn tortillas were crisp and the seasoning on the chicken was fantastic! It was very flavorful but not overly spicy. For lunch I had the seared ahi tuna salad and my boyfriend got the friend chicken sandwich. Both were very large portions and delicious!

We went here for dinner on a wednesday evening. Lucky for us There Was half price on bottles of wine. We had two pasta courses and they were both very delicious. The place Was almost full and a lot of noise and music, but There Was a very Nice atmosphere.

We sat at an outside table under heaters. Service was rather slow, and the food was not very flavorful. I had Chicken Alfredo spinach pasta ($18). Not worth the money. Nice atmosphere. My husband had a burger and said it was good. The waitress shorted us $10 when returning our change, but remedied the problem quickly when we pointed it out. When we ate here we were fairly exhausted, so our experience may be somewhat skewed.

A very nice place to have a good drink with friends, the service was excellent, the orders were spot on although it can get crowded by the Bar area. Music was perfect sound level and plenty of screens to watch the Olympics!!

Being a Brit in San Fran for the first time , I came across the Brixton by chance. Luckily it was mid-week and all wines were half price. We had the steak - well cooked and the atmosphere was great . A great place for a drink if you are 20-30. We were probably the oldest people there... but were made very welcome!

We were shopping and were starving so stopped here. Service was terrible - the guy didn’t check on us at all after served. Food was good but not the best. I had a salad. It was good. I still would eat a salad here again!

Popped in one Friday evening with the kids. Very cool, great staff, amazing beers and could not have been nicer. But the kids ordered the kids pizza and they came to say they had cocked up, and would the adult one be okay. Sure we said. Then they charged us for it at the adult price, and half lay uneaten. Sounds like a little con to me - sharp practice. Grrrr!

We had dinner here. Food was worth the money, but the place is a bit noisy for conversation. I had a fantastic pork chop.

If you are looking for a London-like pub atmosphere The Brixton gets close. The dark wood bar is spacious and the beer selection contains many great local and micro brews. If you are on a budget don’t miss on the happy hour (Mon-Fri 11am – 7pm, Tue all day) that comes with $4 drafts and $5 appetizers. If you come for dinner try the ½ chicken that comes with a yummy potato gratin. Unfortunately the restaurant area is wide open, for the coziest spot go for a table at the window. + nice hang out w cool posters + good brews + awesome ½ chicken + good music - could be more cozy Average entrée: $20

We were looking specifically for impossible burger to try. Was great! We even came back there within our week stay in SF:). With sweet potato fries was super yummy! The place gets a bit loud in the evening and since it's a bar with big screens might get also crowded during the games. But for lunch was awesome! Our waitress was super nice. The service was fast. I would come back if ever in SF again!

We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and appetizers. The drinks are unique and taste delicious. We ordered the meatball as our app. It was awesome and pretty filling. The maple cheesecake is phenomenal as well! I would definitely recommend The Brixton to family and friends traveling in that area.

Server seemed to do us a huge favor by waiting on us. Felt fortunate to have our order taken. Refills weren't offered and the espresso never came. Food was good but the service was very disappointing. Pretty expensive for what you got and how it was delivered. There's better options close by!

We went to Union Street looking for somewhere to eat and I am so glad we stopped here. With six of us we decided to share a bunch of small plates and all were delicious. I highly recommend the beef tacos which we loved so much we ordered more. The drinks were good as well and they served a Moscow Mule in the propper copper mug. Music selection and service were great as well. I would definitely go back!

Food is good, we had brunch. Big place with lots of TV's. Does smell like a place that serves a lot of beer on Saturday night, some of which ends up on the floor. Service was good. Bloody Mary Bar is really well stocked with everything you could possibly think to put in a Bloody, except olives, they had no olives on the BM Bar. Bartender was happy to provide when asked though.

Visiting family in SF, The Brixton came recommended and didn't disappoint, we had a fantastic brunch with great service

We really enjoyed our visit. The waiter was very helpful in helping me order vegetarian food (he knew exactly what was in each dish) and he also recommended some good wines. The food was great - there weren't many vegetarian options but the quality of the dishes that I tried was high.

Great little spot on Union St. Great food and wait staff. Always a game on the tv. Local beer available on tap. One of my favorites.

My wife and I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary by spending 4 days/nights in San Francisco. Our hotel was located near Fisherman's Wharf, giving us walking access to much of what northern San Francisco has to offer. The actual day of our anniversary was on a Sunday. We decided to get away from the tourist crush and walk around the quaint neighborhoods to the west of our hotel. We kind of stumbled across The Brixton on Union Street. We were immediately shown to a charming window seat and served a wonderful lunch while watching an eclectic variety of people out for a leisurely Sunday afternoon walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

Overpriced. Waitress bad face. without flavor, bad pasta, they have like 5 menus online but only works one each time a day. Worst service in the hole US. Dont go there. I prefer a microwave dinner.

Went here last night for a light, late dinner before heading out downtown. Kitchen is open until 10pm and it was a short walk from our hotel. No disappointment here! Friendly staff, good food and fun atmosphere. We will probably stop back in for drinks at the bar!

Found this place on our last night in San Francisco, reviews we had read had been mixed but we had a lovely meal. We sat outside and the staff were great, the food came quickly, was excellent quality and plentiful. Yes the table next to us was loud but it didn't bother us, all in all a great night.

Walked the shops on Union Street and after a good look sat down for chowder and coffee outside in the spring sun not a bad way to spend an hour. Service was also very pleasant.

My fiancé just picked out her engagement ring at Union Street Goldsmith (a wonderful jewelry store in the Marina) and to celebrate we stopped in to The Brixton on the same block of Union Street. (It used to be Left of Albuquerque). The food was fantastic. We started with Avocado Toast and an order of their Demoned (deviled) eggs. Both were really good. Then we had a warm steak and potatoes salad with green beans, arugula and a killer mustard dressing. it was phenomenal. And my fiancé had a Tuna Nicoise salad that was excellent. Plus we saw huge burgers and fires and crab cakes and meat balls at the table next to us. Everything was good. And a very cool vibe, with super nice service. The Brixton is a great find. we'll be back.

You want to high end prices for watered down drinks and ye ye food, come here...make sure your buddy is picking up the pad... a true avoid....

Visited with my family and had a really lovely lunch. Food was freshly prepared and just the right amount for lunch. I would highly recommend The Brixton especially to any Brits who need a break from the mountain of poor quality food that is often presented to you on a plate in many restaurants across US!

We stopped here for a Sunday Brunch recently. After seating a large group before us, the hostess seated us quickly. We even pointed out our desired table to her and she agreed to it without a problem. Our waiter greeted us promptly with a smile. He was ready and able to get our drinks immediately after bringing out the menu and water. We passed on drinks and went straight for " The Three Egg Scramble" with pancakes on the side. It was an excellent choice with substituted egg whites, and came with home-fried potatoes, chicken-apple sausages, and choice of bread i.e. whole wheat or sourdough. To round out the meal, we selected the "silver dollar" pancakes. The food arrived promptly with the pancakes served first, and the main entree shortly there after. The food presentation was excellent and appealing. Shortly, after the food's arrival, we asked for additional water, and learned a water pipe had left the restaurant without water. We chuckled and wondered if the water drought had finally caught up with San Francisco. The waiter apologized for the problem, and served us spring bottled water "complements" of the house. We found the food was excellent tasting, fulfilling and well-prepared. The check arrived timely and the only other "hiccup" was when we tried to use the bathroom after the meal. The lack of water had knocked out both restooms as well. This was a major issue because it is difficult to find "decent restroom" facilities in San Francisco--but that is a whole other issue!

I spotted this place as it is named after one of my favourite London neighbourhoods. It also has a good collection of The Clash memorabilia - my favourite band - so I was bound to like it i suppose. Having said that the food was also very good. I can recommend the mahi mahi sandwich washed down with a Lagunitas craft beer. Tacos were also popular and there was a good value lunch menu. We sat outside on the street/terrace but the restaurant inside is nice too and I imagine would be a good atmosphere for dinner. Service friendly and efficient.

The thyme marinated skirt steak with warm potato/bean salad and a creme fraiche/coarse mustard /chopped onion dressing was just a brilliantly tasty lunch. Try and get a seat on the pavement, it's the best people watching in San Francisco.

My mum and I ate here and shared a pasta and pizza. Both were very nice and filling. The atmosphere was really good, even on a Monday night and it gave you a real San Fran feel which i liked. It wasn't too pricey and really was value for money. I am glad we chose to eat here on our trip.

Enjoyed a nice brunch today with a friend at The Brixton. Unique choices with traditional flavors. Really enjoyed the “make your own Virgin Mary” and the beet and chicken luncheon salad. One person said the chorizo hash was great. Service was ordinary and music was a bit loud but we will come again.

We went to have drinks and appetizers. The atmosphere was very fun and there were some great posters on the wall. The dessert was yummy!By sharing your experiences, you're helping travelers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you!

While enjoying Union Street Festival we came across The Brixton..Perfect spot to sit outside and have a brunch. No regrets!! Our egg-dishes were excellent, the wine list also and the service was fine despite being a busy Sunday afternoon.

Boring, Boring, Boring! What can I say....you most be an under 35 hipster doofus to enter here. boring bar, boring menu. I think the majority of the people in this restaurant were there to be seen by the other people in the restaurant. Don't waste your time.

Great restaurant and bar in Cow Hollow/Marina - perfect for groups, a quick bite, or at the bar for a game.

Although it is a little weird to have a security guard at the door of a restaurant that has open areas leading to the sidewalk, the service was personalized and accommodating. The prices are fair and the mac n' cheese accented with hot sauce and the burger were both very good. The overload of fried onion strings might be avoided by substituting fries or a salad but it was all tasty and good. I ordered the upgraded $19 burger and I was pleased with the quality of the products and the cooking temperature too.

Salad was a little tasteless. Chicken had no flavor. Dressing was just ok. Nice outdoor space. Friendly waiter.

What a great place! Staff so friendly and helpful, what a find!!! Reminds me of pubs back home. Close vicinity to our hotel on Lombard Street. Wine is delicious

Had dinner at The Brixton tonight. Easy to reserve a table via the online service. Waiter very attentive and had a nice friendly attitude. Dinner arrived quickly and food was great.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night with a friend and didn't need a reservation (which was lucky). We had a couple of beers each and a couple of gin and tonics before bed but didn't order any wine or cocktails. Started with a spinach, artichoke and cheese dip which was fantastic - and there was plenty of it. I then had a grilled chicken salad, and my friend had the kale salad. Again, large portions, excellent prices and really tasty. Service was A+ as well. Constantly checked on to see everything was OK and if we needed more drinks. I'd go here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice dinner in San Fran.

Slow service. The seemingly only waiter on shift walked slowly and deliberately everywhere he went. I had to ask for things twice and still didn't get it. The Ahi salad was gritty bc they didn't wash the salad well enough. I didn't really like the chicken macaroni soup recipe. I loved the ambiance though.

Stumbled across this place whilst walking along Union st. Went back next night for food. Great meal and service. Good selection of ales. Having been to rick house the previous night , the Brixton has a much friendlier feel and not as pretentious as the so called 'number one bar' in S.F. We'd choose the Brixton any day.

Yes, this restaurant is right in the middle of Union Street and you shouldn't get your hopes up too high. But this place is worth it. The portions are ample, and the salads are great - good flavors, fresh veggies, and dressings that are light and not overwhelming. The kale and fruit salad was so good, my other half ordered a second one. My beet-and-beet salad was tasty (requested more beets instead of chicken to make it vegan), and the chicken-and-beet salad was good enough to justify a second visit.

On Saturday, my wife craved the Burger so we made a trek to Umami Burger: however, while walking to Umami, my wife saw the Brixton and like to try it out instead. The restaurant was about 50% capacity around 5:45pm (mostly full out in the patio,) and we decided for a table that is inside the restaurant but right at the opened doors into the patio. That was the mistake as the evening is a bit breezy. We had ordered the Giant Meatball, Chorizo Clams and The Brixton Prather Ranch Burger. The beers were quickly consumed and more, but the food came out together and warm. IF the food was hot, the Meatball is good, the Clams soup is rich and full, and the Burger is small but tasty. And I would have given a higher rating: unfortunately, they were not and with the evening breeze, they got cold very quickly. Why did we not get the appetizers first? I do not know who's at fault - the kitchen or the service lady, but I have to pay for a cold dinner. At least the beers were plenty and good.

I really enjoyed my chicken salad sandwich with guacamole -- large, overstuffed and delicious. My partner's hamburger was good but he felt he made a better hamburger at home. The drinks were good. I would return and try dinner next time in SF.

We came across The Brixton by chance after a friend recommended we head to the Marina area. What a great place! Happy Hour is between 3-8pm, good selection of beers and wines. We had the tacos del dia and the roasted chicken breast salad. Both dishes were delicious! The waitress was swift and kept the drinks coming. Table outside to people watch, loved it.

I came for a quick lunch but found the service was slow and please don't order the crab cakes. They were burnt and wouldn't be good even if they were not.

The bouncer at the door was terrible wouldn't even let us in. Claimed we had "fake ID's." He even took one of our friend's ID's. He wouldn't give it back after we asked twice! Now she will have to go to the DMV for a new ID. Definitely not worth going to especially with so many good bars around. I definitely recommend going to "The Palm" way better and they don't act stuck up. Heed my warning or you'll wind up like we did, with no ID and have to go back home.

The Brixton, which had a reasonable priced menu and outside seating so we stopped for a very agreeable lunch in the sun. Inside it was modelled on an English pub and we were told that it is a very popular evening haunt for locals and visitors alike. The outside seating area was quite small but OK. The lunch menu was OK and the Guinness well served! Service was good and friendly.

We had family in from out of town and needed a casual meal for 16 including 4 kids. Staff was very helpful and this was a place that could deal with spirited family conversations going on in a few different languages. Nothing exceptional about the food though the happy hour tacos got the thumbs up by all. The 1/2 and 1/2 sweet potato and regular fries were also very good. Many things to choose from and a kids menu as well. I would recommend asking the server if the kids orders could come out first since this was not the case and the kids got a bit antsy.

My friend and I had drinks and a mix of starters and sides to share - delicious and the service was fantastic. Our waitress was so wonderful and friendly - didn't catch her name but she had pink hair! Visiting from Australia - great fun and relaxed place for drinks and tasty food.

We went here for a light supper and I am so pleased to say that I ate the best home-made vegan burger ever! The fries were good, too. Good food, reasonable prices, and lively atmosphere.

Check mate! Really cool spot here. Whether stopping in for a drink or actually dining, you can't go wrong. Incredible service, decent menu and great atmosphere. Another of my must stops in San Fran!

Sat outside to watch the world go by and enjoyed great service, delicious wine, fresh food, and fun atmosphere... this will become our local for sure!

Enjoyed lunch at the outside tables. Ordered 2 different salads - miso salad with seared tuna and chicken, quinoa and beets. I would skip the chicken salad. All good and fresh ingredients but was a bit bland and boring. LOVED the tuna salad. Portions are large and 1 salad could be split with 2 people. Really nice restaurant for a group or family. Could get a bit loud if crowded but there is such good space here. Nice wines by the glass - Sterling $9 / fun cocktail menu Wonderful service at our table and bar. Good handicap space inside and out. Street parking only but you can use Luxe Valet. Dog friendly on patio

If you're looking for some decent food with table service, try the Brixton. Nothing is too fancy on the menu that you wouldn't know what it is, but it's not basic diner food either. I had the pork chops and they were cooked perfectly accompanied by beans and bits of bacon. Entrees are in the 20-something $ range, as are most of the clientele. It's a big place without any rugs or drapery to absorb the sound, so if you are hard of hearing, come early before it fills up.
fun place, mediocre food
We chose Brixton for a light dinner based on the nice atmosphere and clear popularity. Based on our limited sampling of three items, it's popularity must be based on the social scene. The Philly Cheesesteak rolls [beef and cheese wrapped in spting roll wrappers and then fried] were not very good, a disappointment for this fan of Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. The breaded chicken with salad was fast-food quality. The salad+seared tuna had a large serving of quality spring greens, but the seared tuna had a strange consistency and lacked flavor. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items, but three misses out of three suggests otherwise.
