Take the kids.....there may be a line, but it moves quickly....they have a lot of seating. The pancakes are excellent as are the many other egg/bacon/sausage combos. The hash browns are good, as are the burgers and chicken sandwiches at lunchtime. Generous portions, prepared like mom used to do Sunday morning breakfasts.

I have visited the Bissonet location for 40 years. A justly famous place. The Voss Road location is, if anything, even better. Exciting, trendy atmosphere, marvellous food, moderate to pricey. We had breakfast for 4; price was $53.00. It was definitely worth it.

Nice family dinner. Staff very nice - they went above and beyond to make sure there were not any nuts in the brownies - much appreciated.

I had the Migas special ...could have used a bit more chilie's. But as this was our first visit I'll know to ask for the boost next time. Cholula hot sauce saved the day. My wife had what she described as "the best omelette I've ever had in a restaurant " Daughter in law had biscuits & gravy. HUGE fresh biscuits but she was expecting sausage (either in the biscuits or the gravy) Our son had the huevos con papas with a side of bacon (extraordinary). Coffees & water all around. A true feast. No greasy taste. Definitely a keeper.

Our breakfasts were purely delicious. The coffee was strong and full of flavor and aroma. The service was quick despite the long line. A wonderful place for an awesome selection of breakfast items. I shall return to try other offerings on the menu.

You can't beat Buffalo Grille for a casual weekend breakfast. The food is awesome and the cinnamon coffee if the best! If you don't get there early the line will likely be out the door and may take a while but its worth the wait! Grab a coffee while you are standing there and enjoy conversation with your friends!

A breakfast favorite, we like the large portions and generally tasty meals. Most menu items are a la carte. Scrambled eggs with hash browns, a biscuit with gravy, bacon, two raspberry pancakes - that was my order. The wife got coffee, a scrambled egg, and a wheat pancake. A couple of issues and a tip. Go early to beat the church crowd on Sunday. The hash browns were undercooked, but I didn't mention it to the counter. They have a new meat supplier, a Texas company. The bacon wasn't nearly as good as before, this was a big fail for me. Total bill for two was just under $35. Final score, 4.

I normally come here for breakfast however a friend was sick and asked me to pick up food for her. I called it in and easily picked up on the way home. Wonderful home cooking and I added a quart of soup so that she had extra for the next day. She sent a text the next day grateful for the delicious chicken tortilla soup.

Portions are enormous! My boyfriend and I each had a 3-egg omelette, which are fully customizable, and we split 2 pecan pancakes. The pancakes are frisbee size! And the outdoor seating area was very pleasant. Would definitely recommend for brunch.

I get, and enjoy, an omelette and grits. My wife gets the pecan pancakes. They offer a great selection of choices for both. We go during the week, for dinner. It gets busy on weekend mornings. Chic fried steak is ok. Sometimes the dinners and sides are cold and bland.

My family loves breakfast foods! My teenage children & I met family here. Other family members love to eat here. Love the casual atmosphere (dogs allowed outside). You wait in line to order then find a table. Some of our orders were pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns, & biscuits. Everything was wonderful! Large portions! Bacon was thick & peppery. Would love to go back & try lunch/dinner menu.

Good, casual place for breakfast. Food is always good, portions are good sized, and you will not leave hungry.

I've only eaten breakfast & burgers here, but in all of my years of coming here I've never had anything less than great food.

Being from Tulsa, OK - I'm going to forever crave the batter-dipped-fries. Just thinking of them now makes me want them!!

The line is out the door so one would think that this place has great food. Not!! It was probably was one of the most blandest meals I have ever had. I was extremely disappointed with it abd really am not sure what the attraction is other than maybe location. It did have a neat dining room but even that did not make up for probably one of the lamest breakfast meals I have ever had.

Sometmes there's a bit of a wait - but food is good. Whole family loves the pancakes & omelettes. Casual & family friendly.

Order at the counter for a solid breakfast. Good food, fair price for what is offered. Sides are expensive and they can add up very quickly.

One of the best breakfast places in Houston-- very casual and first come first serve on seating. Always packed on Saturday mornings. An easy choice for a quick and delish breakfast.

We read that this place was voted #1 place for breakfast in Houston and the review was right! When you go in, you get on line and order your breakfast from a big menu on the wall. The service was wonderful. We found a table right away. The coffee was fantastic. The omelets, so many to choose from, were so big and yummy. The pancakes were the best I've ever eaten and boy were they huge! The lunch menu was calling my name so we'll be visiting probably within the next few weeks. We can't wait to go back.

king ranch spinach enchilada (drooling)

They have HUGE pancakes at this place! It is awesome! I have only been for breakfast, so I'm not sure if they have good lunch and dinner. Not only do they have amazing breakfast, they have Mexican breakfast too which is very good. If your looking for a place to get a good breakfast, go here! The only complaint I have is that is a bit of a long line, but it moves pretty fast.

The place has patio dining and plenty of table tops inside. It has a very robust menu of classic grille fare that is very family friendly. The portions are massive and you will never leave this place hungry. The food while tasty, isn't exactly fresh, when you order for a family of four and the meals come out in 7 minutes you can pretty much figure out it's more of a quick service place. Yet the food is tasty. It's a counteria so order first then find your seat. The hashbrowns at breakfast are awesome, and the pancakes while not lightest are massive and easily split amongst two people.

We went to enjoy the outdoor courtyard dining with our dog. The tables are made of wooden pallets that were covered in bird droppings. Never cleaned. The food is poor quality that is smothered in cheese in the hope that will make it taste better. Very disappointed.

Decided to try this place as it was on the top 10 brunch list on yelp. Glad we decided on this one. The food was good and quick, and place had a great clean atmosphere.

Very reasonable and food was excellent! We had a great breakfast there. It is cafeteria style and be prepared to wait in line to order but it well worth it! Tex/Mex style food and be sure to order tex/mex food!

All Fresh and very healthy. Always crowded but they get to you fast. They have a variety of healthy pancakes-like whole wheat, but everything seems very healthy and fresh.

Really good breakfast.

Buffalo Grill is a terrific choice for breakfast or other grill-style lunches or dinners. The food is simple but quite good. They have a wide variety of Americano and Tex-Mex choices for meals, including their scrumptious buffalo burger, with reasonable prices. You order at the counter, and they call your name to pick up your food from trays. It is a fun and friendly place for families and simple business meetings.

Was in Houston for work and a peer recommended Buffalo Grille for lunch. I had the King ranch casserole, sowuthwestern mac-n-cheese and jalapeno corn bread. All was good and filling. It was a filling an affordable lunch. I'll be back.

Visited here while in town for business one morning. The place was busy for a weekday but I have eaten here before and knew the reason why. This place has some of the best Mexican breakfast items I have ever experienced, period. I had the tried and true Huevos con Papas. I usually get the French toast to share but didn't have my wife with me and didn't want to make myself sick so I passed. The food was outstanding as always. Wish we had one of these in Tulsa. Until then, I will continue to eat here when visiting Houston.

Houston is our favourite US City and the Buffalo Grille is a regular must do visit for us with the family for breakfast .There are two one in West University and the other just off San Felipe on Woodward . We arrived for breakfast at the one on West University@ Bissonet //Wesleyan . The "Captain" in charge of the Buffalo Grill is known by his USS Alabama cap and is evident at the check out register directing customers to what's available etc .. Everything is on the menu from Tacos to Burritos to Porridge and short stacks with warm syrup ..all yummy ..try the French toast with raspberry ..fabulous ... Anyway , this place is a Texas Institution for good American food and friendly . If you go to Houston you must visit the Buffalo Grill ..it's an insight into Great Texas Breakfast dining .. It's a must do experience ... A real Texas Institution !!. Hugh S "Frontier@ type " service

Visiting from out of town and not wanting to stray far from my hotel, I stumbled onto this restaurant. The menu is a bit overwhelming for a new visitor since they serve a wide variety of foods - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The portions are pretty hefty. I ordered a three egg white omelet with some vegetables and a pecan smoked sausage link. I could finish neither and leftovers were not an option. If there was a disappointment, it was the telltale taste of stale tea from a not clean enough container. For one person, I thought it was a bit pricey, but I would otherwise say go there hungry and plan for leftovers!

We came here for some comfort food the morning after a wedding and were not disappointed! Great variety on the menu - tons of options - and good, fast service. The omlettes were outstanding - and so were the crispy hash browns and French toast with fruit and pecans! Wish we had this place in Dallas!!!

Wow. I used to go out of my way if I was in the area to come to this place for breakfast. It takes hard work for the cook to literally overcook the outside of the thin omelette and leave the inside runny with the cold cheese and crappy cubed ham. So I took it back, because no one that orders an omelette eats eggs sunny side up. They practically argued with me about the fact that it was done wrong. She said "fine I redo it". I told her let's just do a scramble. Can't screw that up. Uhhh...yes you can. Once again over cooked scramble. The fact that a breakfast place doesn't have separate iced coffee in today's world is a little weird. This isn't a diner. You should have iced coffee. They gave me shaved ice which melted 100% when I poured hot coffee over it. The well done hash browns was the only plus. They were crispy and plentiful. I liked those, hence the one star here. Had I gotten a decent service with even the slightest smile or proper attitude that I used to get at this place I would give it two to three stars as I find quality of food and cook service has its own star. I will not return. Sad.

This is a simple breakfast place with a mix of traditional and Tex-Mex platters for breakfast. It serves lunch too, but I've never been for that. The breakfast is arguably one of the best in the Houston area and is a must visit! The one item I'll brag about is the humongous pancakes which are often larger than the large plate they come on. If you love breakfast and love pancakes, don't miss this place but the line can be long at the busy hours so choose your times wisely....

Husband went here last week, had the catfish, proclaimed it dry and tasteless. Today we did breakfast for lunch (bkfst served all day), better experience. He had eggs over-easy and bacon with big biscuits. Said the biscuits didn't compare to his mother's but were very good. Eggs done right. I had two-egg scramble with cheese and bacon, grits on side. Grits could have been creamier but they were fine and eggs were filling. We didn't have the coffee but juice. Big portions, friendly atmosphere, fast service, clean bathrooms, definitely a neighborhood hangout. Each breakfast was about $10 each, going rate. Parking easy. Recommend! We'll return.

Even though they have moved to a new location, the food and the atmosphere is as good as ever. Great thick sliced smoked bacon, delicious huge pancakes, and great omelettes. There is no table service, just wait in line, give your order, and wait for your name to be called. But even when the line extends out the door, they move quickly. Certainly worth the wait.

I had omelette with mushrooms, spinach and bell peppers. I couldn't finish it as it was huge. I only had one bite of the biscuit that came with the meal as I was given enough food for a small army. I ordered the side of hash browns enough for several people. He ordered the migas. Came with lots of beans and tortillas. What we left could have easily feed a third person. Next time, we'll get one order and share.

Okay, this place has two locations. One is off of Woodway and Voss (south of I-10). That's the one I always go to. I have not had a chance to go to the one on Bissonnet. They have the best breakfast around. Very large breakfast menu and they are able to handle it with great quality food/cooks. Try the peppered bacon. Pancakes are fabulous. I have never had a bad or just okay meal. The syrup is never cold. I comes out of a machine that keeps it hot. I told a co-worker about this place so he could take his girlfriend and he thanked me two days in a row. HAHA Our family visits Buffalo Grille often!

Best breakfast, good place to read the paper on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

We went to the Buffalo Grille on the recommendation of an acquaintenance but were not that pleased. It is one of those restaurants where you line up and order and they call you to come and pick it up at the counter. I ordered the juevos rancheros and was disappointed. The ranchero sauce did not have a lot of flavor and the eggs were on a small flour tortilla instead of a corn tortilla. The refried beans were very soupy and again not a lot of flavor. My husband ordered the breakfast chile rellenos and thought the first couple of bites were great but then the very thick batter on the rellenos became overwhelming. He also thought the beans were not very good. The menu offered a lot of choices and perhaps we should give it another a chance but it will not be anytime soon. One really annoying aspect of the restaurant was that the ladies restroom did not have hot water. I was shocked that a restaurant of this calibre would not provide hot water with which to wash your hands.

My husband & I decided to try Buffalo Grille for breakfast before shopping at nearby Bering's. It was fun, in that we had never eaten here before. We both had the scrambled eggs with cheddar & bacon, hash browns & an English muffin. We had cinnamon coffee to drink. The portions were large & it was a filling meal. The food was bland & sort of greasy. We got salsa at the condiment bar to help make it tastier. The English muffins were toasted too long & were hard. The coffee was good. The lady who took our order was very nice & friendly. The next time we are in this area, we probably will go to Einstein's for a bagel egg sandwich.

Have never had a problem with the Buffalo Grill in the past. However, today was an exception. I ordered breakfast for dinner. The tortillas did not taste fresh, the hash browns were greasy, and the eggs were overcooked. When I shared this with the manager on duty, he argued with me about the tortillas (proclaiming they were fresh), he told me that I need to order the hash browns "dry," otherwise they are greasy. He said he was sorry and that was it. He should have asked me if I wanted to order something else or asked what he could do to make things right. I never thought I would give Buffalo Grill a negative review, but because of the attitude of the manager, I doubt I will return.

Liked the old location much better, but still a favorite for breakfast. Love the cinnamon coffee and scrambled eggs with cream cheese.

A Houston favorite for good reason: well prepared standards (burgers, sandwiches, quesadillas, breakfast), nice people, inexpensive prices. I received a very generous pour of pinot noir, and there's bottomless coffee and a relaxed atmosphere, so this is a great place for people with children.

one of my favorite breakfast places

We went here with children and grandparents. Several of us ordered french toast with fruit, pancakes with fruit, and a spinach omelette. I ordered a chicken fried steak platter. The CFS was good, with two large steaks. Although the gravy was just average, the steaks were filling and well-breaded. The real standouts were the french toast. They were covered in lots of fruit. There is a self-serve bar of hot syrup, honey, jam, etc. The pancakes were filling and good too. The omelette, although nothing special, was large and filling. Overall, this was a great place to eat - large portions for the price. It does get pretty busy at times. It is counter service and kid friendly, although we didn't see that many kids when we were there. I'd definitely return to this restaurant again.

This is a West University neighborhood place with pretty good food. Menu is extensive! I really liked the Pancakes. The steaks for dinner are ok, good value but not to write home about. In steak parlance, you get what you pay for. Better than fast food and convenient. It is counter order and pick up. The crew is friendly and helpful. Nice people. In the morning be prepared to wait on line.

Breakfast Foods! Mouth watering pancakes so filling you will need a crane to leave. Cinnamon coffee avail. Omelettes, hash browns, etc. also. Only downside is seating is a bit crowded and uncomfortable. Great food, wooden bench.

TXBohemian normally does like not like to wait in line for a meal. However, Buffalo Grille was the call for Saturday AM breakfast, so no choice but to endure a wait for some chow. They open at 8AM, and we arrived at aprox. 8:40 to see about 40 people in a line out the door. TXBohemian tip: BG has a coffee pot and cups at the door, so you can serve yourself some java while you wait for the line to slowly advance. Order at the counter and find an open table. Our group had a variety of breakfast items including massive pancakes, big biscuits, eggs, hash browns and the weekend special, chilaquiles (see photo), which were all quite tasty. Food was good, and TXBohemian would have scored BG as average (line, price, burned/soggy hash browns), but the food was quite tasty. Regarding prices, you do get ample food for a reasonable price, however, TXBohemian thinks $2.54 for coffee or a drink is pricey. Free refills/unlimited, and just about every restaurant is charging that these days, so feel free to java up and get your money's worth. BG recommends getting there when they open at 8AM on weekends if you don't want to wait.

I ordered chicken salad on iceberg salad. Was enough meat for two servings. Was tasty with nuts and not "too mayonnaisey" Will go again

I love their cinnamon coffee.

I went there for a luncheon meeting with three other people. I had catfish and fries with cornbread. It was very tasty and came out of the kitchen quickly. This is a straightforward place where you stand in line to make your order and pick it up when your name is called. The speed of food preparation makes it a very good place for a quick but filling lunch. The prices were very competitive except for the drinks. Stick with water and you will get a great value.

4 of us had a lunch meeting at the Buffalo Grille. We had catfish and salads. Everything was very good.

If I order buttermilk pancakes, they generally come in the same size wherever I visit in the US. These ones are the size of the plate, so two was one too many. But the quality was good, the coffee was good, and there is an extensive menu to choose from, which makes this a great breakfast place. It does what it promises at a good price.

Good for breakfast. However line style service, so sometimes hard to meet with a big group.

Had breakfast here and it was better than I expected. Pancakes were awesome I had the potato and egg plate which was good too

Best place for breakfast even with the line out of the door.Burgers good too but salad was full of hard part of lettuce.Pass on the salads.Stick to the breakfast served all day long.

Ate here for the first time today on a whim and enjoyed it. The hotcakes were very light, fluffy, and sweet, not to mention, very large. I only got two but could not finish my plate. Can get pretty busy as the morning goes on, but we got there fairly early. There was a short line and food came out very quickly.

One of our favorite breakfast spots when we make the drive into Houston. Always packed, but tables seem to open up just in time. Lovely patio when the weather's nice. Fireplace as well inside.

I was there on a Sunday with a friend and the line was out the door. When we got our breakfast it was magnificent. The french toast and the biscuits are huge. The portions are big enough for 2.

Get here early - the lines are long on the weekends. This place is great for breakfast/brunch - the bacon is amazing. Portions are large here and the food is consistently good.

Good.

Yummy Yummy

They serve breakfast ALL DAY, and even though the line gets long, they move so quickly through the order process! I love that they have a huge drinks bar and it is easy get refills of your coffee, tea, or soda. My favorite meal is the breakfast 3b... yum. The patio outside is lovely and there are tons of tables inside for overflow.

We had a group eat at the Buffalo Grill. We arrived at 8:40 and to our surprise, no line. Five minutes later it was out the door. The food was good but a little greasy for me. The portions were very large and the price was reasonable. Most of us had eggs and grits or hashbrowns. It is a good place to eat but the lines can be long at times. Also, they don't want you to save a table while someone else orders. I watched the tables clear as fast as the new customers look for a place to sit. It seemed to work well. There was a large outdoor area to sit and eat too.

Best breakfast. Quick comfort food. Great veggie omelette options. Friendly staff. Eat in or out. Easy parking. Just go!

It's a great neighborhood place for breakfast/lunch. Breakfast served all day. The food is good, the servings are pretty large, the service is very friendly. There is usually a long line on the weekends for breakfast, but it seems to move pretty well. Plenty of parking.

I have recently moved back to Houston after 20 years of being away. Buffalo grille was my favorite before I left and it is my recurrent favorite. It is awesome for breakfast and brunch anytime. they serve breakfast all day. they also serve lunch. they have excellent hashbrowns, egg dishes, pancakes and French toast. you can go healthy with whole wheat pancakes with fruit if you like. they have biscuits and gravy. their unlimited cinnamon coffee is the best! although I love this place for breakfast, I opted for lunch this time. I had a lovely BLT on rye and a side of hashbrowns. the bacon is thick, meaty and peppered. yum! the thing that I like the most about this place is their willingness to make it the way you like it. don't be daunted by a long line. it goes fast and your food is ready in minutes.

They serve breakfast all day and they also serve lunch and dinner. The menu is mostly a la cart which didn't bother me. I ordered chicken strips with pancakes and eggs. The restaurant is clean. The food is fresh and the pancakes are extremely large! As a breakfast lover I would definitely recommend this place to others. My husband seemed to enjoy their pork chops. The biscuits looked big and fluffy as well. Yesterday was my second time coming.

For some reason, this location is better than the San Felipe/Voss location. Lots of locals who order the same thing every time--because they have favorites and go regularly. Very relaxed, not fancy, and no one rushes. Order at the counter. Modest prices, will adjust your order to taste, like adding chicken to my migas. (They no longer even ask, they see me coming.) Great buckwheat pancakes. Nice staff, with homey feel. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, the line is out the door, but still pretty fast. They have free coffee outside for those who are in line. They are just that nice. Pretty wide menu. Large portions. Plenty of parking. You'll leave full, happy, relaxed, and ready to return.

My family and I had a nice celebration brunch here! Order at the counter and pick up your food on trays. The portions are very generous, so keep that in mind. My omlet was very good and the pecan waffle looked very good as well. I'd like to try other meals here also!

Not a bad experience for a hungry eater. Food is just average, but your get a lot for the money. Forget about any special requests, it just comes out of the kitchen the way it is. A popular spot for decades with families, students, and folks on a tight budget. It may have slipped a little but it's still very popular and offers generous portions.

Yes, they serve lunch and dinner. But the pancakes are so awesome (and huge) that I rarely order anything else. Thank God they serve them all day. The banana pancakes are to die for.

Wife and I had the $5.95 breakfast deal: 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pancakes. This is our first visit since they moved from the Buffalo Speedway site. Very good atmosphere similar to the old store. But the AC seems to be set to extra cold, even in the 100 degree days we have in Houston. This place is too cold inside.

Buffalo Grille is apparently a Houston institution. Great coffee and a huge selection of breakfast dishes, with generous helpings. Order at the counter and then pick up to bring to your table. Great for families.

What a great place to go for an excellent breakfast! They serve dinner but couldn't tear myself away from the breakfast menu. Pancakes that were HUGE, black peppered thick sliced bacon, a bowl of grits with cheese that you could dive into. And great staff. This will become a favorite place when visiting Houston - I still need to try the lunch/dinner offerings!

Seems like I only know the spots for breakfast! But this is another good one, coming in third behind The Hobbit and Cafe Montrose.

Pancakes rad...long line to order, not rad.

The new Buffalo Grill on Bissonet is nicer in many ways to the former very popular eatery. The dining space is larger including a very large outdoor space and the selection of foods is much more varied. Breakfast is still wonderful and served all day long. I especially like the strip steak at a great price with very good flavor and my wife loves the chicken fried chicken and the grilled vegetables. One of our favorites for local dining of home style food for sure.

Get there before the morning lines. Order at the front counter and then find a table. Really good ( and large) portions. Pancakes are first rate as are the many egg choices. Good sides of bacon and sausage. Free parking in front.

the best pancakes i have ever eaten. I go there every time i am in houston. amazing biscuits and omlets too.

great for breakfast, but can be a little greasy sometimes. The chicken apple sausage is delicious.

Went here to meet some friends visiting town who used to frequent this restaurant. I'd heard positive things about it, so I went in with hoping to savor a good meal. WRONG. I ordered the Buffalo burger (hey, it's called the Buffalo Grille), medium rare, with onions and jalapenos along with a side of fries. Two of the orders came out timely, the other two were delayed such that one friend had to go up to the counter to see what was wrong. My burger looked like a warmed-up frozen patty, cooked well done, without the jalapenos and hidden in a massive doughy bun. The fries were coated with something, with about half the order over-cooked. Fortunately the Heinz ketchup covered them. Frankly I should have taken it back to the counter; but as it was our friend's suggestion and they seemed to be enjoying their meal, I decided not to make a fuss. Definitely not worth a return trip. I heard that on the weekends there is a line out the door to get in--WHY?

There are no buffaloes other than a buffalo burger at the grill but the food is good and reasonable. I had not been to BG in several years and not since it moved to its present location. We ate there today with two other for a business meeting and I could not resist but had to have a half order of chicken fired steak as it was the "Lunch Special". The others had fried chicken salads. All meals were good. This a is a popular grill in the West U side of town and it was crowded at lunch today with seemingly two lunch crowds--one at noon and another about 1:15. Highly recommended for breakfast and lunch

A go-to for breakfast, served anytime of day. You will be just as likely to see business meetings among the power brokers of WestU as you will a family before school grabbing a meal. Their pancakes are Texas-sized, a meal to share. The tex-mex dishes are fantastic, enjoying migas, or my favorite, Huevos con Chorizo. The omelets are popular, with regular or egg whites. Fear not, you won't go hungry. And if you want to eat healthy, the oatmeal is good, but the fruits to mix in are canned (except for the banana). Skip the fruit and add some sugar-free syrup to add some flavor. This is the type of place where you order and they call your name to pick up the tray. Food gets cooked quickly, but since people like to stay and chat, there can be a wait, especially on the weekends or after church.

For breakfast they gave eggs, bacon, french toast, hash browns, a lot if fried and greasy stuff, carbs. No veggies or cheeses selection. No nice pastry. No oatmeal or berries. No multigrain toasts. Coffee is from the pot, not very good. I would not come back, because there is nothing I typically eat fir breakfast besides eggs.

Huge portions for the price. I got the ranchero eggs and hash browns and tasted okay. My husband fell in love with a pork chop breakfast and he gets that every day we go eat there. Low breakfast selections but other than that great place.

The food here is predictably good for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have been dining here for many year (old location and new one). We like the large pancakes, chicken fried steak and veggie plate. Down home country comfort food! Counter service, ample parking. Local favorite.

We made an honest mistake today in "holding a table"-- didn't understand what that meant at first and certainly didn't get a polite explanation of what that meant, but what we did was enter the restaurant and place our kids at a table while the adults ordered food-- seems normal enough. On top of that the table we took previously had friends of ours sitting there. We just took over their table when they left. Literally as my husband was ordering our food, someone came up to tell us we couldn't "hold a table". So, all six children had to get up from the table. Didn't realize we were breaking a rule. Apparently, you have to order your food, then you can grab a table. Well someone had complained that we were "holding a table". The funny thing is that the gentleman who complained and got our table actually got his food after us. Obviously, my husband must of been right behind him in ordering. Craziness is all I can say. Just learn from our mistake. Yes-- we did notice the signs after the fact. Certainly wasn't looking for such a sign to read "No holding a table while in line". The food was just average. Whoever came up to me to tell us to move was not friendly about it at all-- that was someone who worked at the restaurant maybe even a manager. Just our experience.

Huge pancakes and the omelette was falling off the plate! I had the burrito rancheros and it was so good! It's fast food style place where you place your order at the counter and then take a seat. You are called up once your order is ready.

The lunch and dinner items are mostly average but breakfast is where this place shines. The pancakes, and most typical breakfast entrees are excellent, especially the Mexican style entrees. I was a little disappointed with the biscuits and gravy, but otherwise, this is one of my favorite breakfast spots. Be aware, however, that if you come on Saturday or Sunday mornings the line can get pretty long as this is a very popular weekend breakfast destination.

Just had a big "girls' lunch" at Buffalo Grille on Bissonnet. I had an excellent cheese omlette, but others had a variety of items and everyone was happy. Among the favorites were chicken salad, chili, grilled chicken over Greek Salad, and just about anything else you can imagine. This is a fairly new location and I had not been there, but everything I loved about the old location was there...quick service and a great rustic feel. Looking forward to going back.

Have been going there for the last 12 years always the best food .One of the best Breakfasts in Houston

Long line that moves quickly so don't pass by because of the line. We pulled into the place and the line went all the way outside and down the sidewalk. We decided to stick it out. Food was well worth the wait. We were in a and finished eating in an hour. The folks know how to move the line quickly. Chicken fried steak is enough for two so select the half order unless you want Leftovers. The spinach enchilada was the best enchilada I've ever eaten!

The banana pancakes are so good! Try them with a cup of their cinnamon coffee.

Anyone traveling and looking for good food at a reasonable price will be delighted with the Buffalo Grille. Breakfast is served all day. Lunches are extremely popular. Food choices include basic American dishes, as well as many Mexican dishes. A handful of other dishes (e.g. red beans and rice) are included. You can order full meals as specials, salads that are a meal in themselves, any of several delicious desserts, and kids' portions. You will typically find crowds around lunch time, especially on Saturdays, but just get in line. Placing an order is easy, and the food is prepared quickly. I, my wife and our friends have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed.

Enjoyed a late breakfast with my husband and kids. We ordered two hot cakes. They were enormous and very light and fluffy. All four of us were able to eat off the two pancakes with some left over. We also had an omelet. It was very good as well. The atmosphere is very casual. The workers are friendly and helpful.

This place is great and has the best peppered bacon. I like the breakfast, which thankfully is served all day. The line can be long but it moves quickly.

Not fine dining, but a 5 rating to me based on value. Simple, good, reasonably priced food in a very casual, but nice setting. Primarily known for breakfast, but give their dinners a chance! I love their pecan crusted chicken, with mac & cheese as a favorite side. There is another location on Voss that has a great fireplace.

Cafeteria style breakfast. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and my wife had eggs, bacon and hash browns. Country (white) gravy was nasty, small puddle of bland flour and water over 3 biscuits, not enough to moisten the biscuits. I ate less than one fourth of it. Both of us received lukewarm, limp, very greasy hash browns, the consistency of spaghetti. Won't return.

This a stand in line and order restaurant. I had a great tamale and egg breakfast. Large portions and yes the coffee is good.

Huge delicious pancakes, tasty bacon and eggs any style. These are a few of the things that make Buffalo Grille so good. Fresh fruit and grapefruit, perfect waffles and hot syrup. It's the little touches that make this place good. It's a long time Houston institution that everyone should experience with family, friends or neighbors. Enjoy!

My first visit to the Buffalo Grille was really good; the breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere and the ambience were just right. The pancakes were fluffy, the migas was good and the cinnamon coffee just complemented everything. However my subsequent visits to the establishment have resulted in not so great experiences. Maybe I ordered lunch at the place and it’s not really meant for lunch. I have visited multiple times afterwards and have had burgers that were extremely well done and one time it was burnt. My advice is that if you want to visit the place, do it for breakfast. They do have some great breakfast items including the cinnamon coffee, migas, pancakes and flapjacks as big as hubcaps.

I would not drive out of my way for Buffalo Grille, but I did enjoy my time there. The staff was friendly and very down home. It was not busy so the staff was enjoying polite conversation with each other, but snapped to when a customer walked in. The food is my issue. I chose black eyed peas, spanish rice and corn. The corn had no salt, no flavor - just corn in water. Contrast that w/ the black-eyed peas that were overly seasoned w/ something odd and spicy. The rice was okay, just standard. It came with a tasty cornbread that was my favorite thing by far. I know veggies are usually people's sides. I used them for my meal and did not try their specialities. I may give it one more shot, but my feeling is if you can't do veggies, what are you going to do my my entree?

Can I rate places I have been to forever ? Great good. Long lines

We took our family this morning! They have wonderful pancakes and the pecan bacon is delicious! Biscuits are home made! The fruit cup was not fresh! I would not get it again!

First time to eat at the Buffalo Grille. Tried it given previous reviews and glad we did. Had the chiliquiles and they were fantastic. Very large quantities. Fun atmosphere. Line was out the door, but the pace of service was quick so didn't have to wait long to order or get a table.

Awesome local vibe and good burgers and bfast!

Buffalo grille one of the worst place to eat, I wish I never been there, burnt hash brown undercook eggs, awful biscuits, and cheapest ham waist of money, I did not eat not even 25% of the food too yukky! I will never return there!

wonderful breakfast, not much else going on though.

Their coffee is the best in town. Also love the migas and the strawberry pancakes. Lines are short during the week.

great breakfast

Too crowded on weekends, but great breakfast.

The pancakes are giant sized and yummy. The perfect weekend place to linger with coffee and newspaper.

great breakfast -

There are a lot of breakfast places in Houston. But when it comes to true Houston taste and price, this is the best breakfast grill in the city. Portions are large, but the quality of food remains. The coffee and biscuits alone are worth my drives over. I've never been disappointed.

This is a new location for them. The food is good and they made room for our group of 12. Parking can be a problem as there is not a lot of it.

We love Buafflo Grill! Very nice outisde patio with fence for little ones. We met our daughter's boyfriend and their 2 year old. He could explore while we ate. Wonderful breakfast! Wee love the food and the ambiance! Doesn't get any better.

Ok, first thing is that this place has good prices for food. They serve breakfast and lunch at the same time. They have everything ....EVERYTHING!!! They are fast on getting your rder out and the place is always packed...that should tell you enough. Come eat here right meow!

Was looking for a quick bite mid afternoon on a Friday, as we were in from out of town visiting friends. Came across this spot and glad we did. I ordered the huevos poblanos and my wife ordered a taco salad with chicken. When I went to pick up our order from the counter I thought it was a prank. There was enough food for 4 people. Maybe more. It was fresh and delicious. I would go back if in the area.

I have been to buffalo grille every Sunday (at least) of my vacation in Houston and I can't wait to go back there once I come back. Hot cakes are delicious and bacon is the best.

Great Breakfast in Houston near Galleria. I have eaten here dozens of times and the food is always great. Eggs are always cooked to order and they have several kinds of coffee to choose from.

A fun restaurant to chat in with friends. The food was decent, but what turned me off was the manager. Pretty distant and cold unwilling to answer some questions we had since it was our first time at the restaurant.

I came here for pancakes once. It was huge, but good.

A sizeable portion for around $10; good mix of American and Tex-Mex cuisine and serves breakfast late into the day. Line is long but once you order it's usually ready quickly.

Sometimes you want breakfast for lunch, and the Buffalo Grille is a good option. There is outdoor seating, although the day I was there - a top 10 kind of day - I was the only one sitting outside. Go figure. I like the migas with refried beans. Not greasy, holds together really well.

Why would you eat an expensive mediocre hotel breakfast when you can head to The Buffalo Grille for a fantastic breakfast. Pancakes that cover the plate, thick cut bacon, good coffee (from the thermoses believe it or not). Large portions of hash browns (ask for extra crispy). Only draw back is the us local know about this place so might have to wait in line for 10min on a weekend but it is worth it. Also visit the alternative location of Voss street, The food is as good there.

Wanted breakfast but wanted to go somewhere close by. Had a wait but the line was moving. After reading about the generous servings I ordered the two eggs with hash browns and turkey sausages. At first the sausage could be mistaken for a beef patty but it was good. Some of my family's meals weren't as hot as they would like but we didn't arrive here until 1:30. My meal was great. I would like to go when they open up.

I've been eating lunch here at least once a month for the past 7 or 8 years. It's typical Texas comfort food, chicken fried steak, enchiladas and all i=of their dishes are good

Good breakfast and GIANT pancakes, but hash browns are my favorite part of breakfast and they make theirs with onions.

Based on the high reviews, I decided to try this place for breakfast. The restaurant has a cement floor and uncomfortable tables and chairs; the decor and ambiance are truly low grade and everything appeared abused by neglect and time. There is no table service, so one orders at the counter. A sign states that no one is to sit at/save a table while waiting for the food to be prepared and there is no waiting room or section, so one just stands near the counter waiting for the food to be prepared. Okay, I'm thinking, this food must be truly outstanding for people to tolerate these conditions. Wow, was I wrong. I ordered the two eggs with "chives" and cream cheese plate for about $9. The eggs contained no chives that I could discern and I use chives at home, but there were some lackluster green onions in the eggs. There was also about 1T of cream cheese tossed into the scramble, not nearly enough to fulfill the promise of what I thought would be a creamy, savory egg dish. The eggs scrambled until slightly burned and then chopped up and thrown onto a plate. The eggs came with toast (mine was stale rye) and home fries (burned on the top and soggy with slightly bitter oil below). I also ordered the pecan bacon, which was okay, but pricey at $1.30 per slice. The coffee and the friendly counter clerk are in the plus column. All in all, there is not much to recommend here: poorly prepared food, no presentation, no service, and no atmosphere. I do not understand the high reviews here.

Great place. We've been here several times, always for a late breakfast after a medical procedure! Haven't been disappointed

The Buffalo Grille is great for breakfast. In a city full of fantastic restaurants, I am rating it average because it is not a gourmet establishment. It is a good pancake, bacon, egg, migas, type of restaurant. We eat here a lot.

I have only been here for Breakfast but have been many times. My only complaint is that the portions are so huge, but the food tastes so good that I eat twice as much as normal :). I have only been for breakfast, and it is always crowded with a line waiting to get in before they even open. Highly recommended.
Breakfast paradise
Unlimited coffee, blueberry pancake stack with syrup, omelettes, huevos, Cholesterol paradise on a plate. Thought I died and got into heaven. I dream of this place whenever I am away from the US for a long time. Truly spectacular breakfast. Only downside- the queue going around the corner.
