Cool experience but careful you don't get ripped off

By FenixJoshAtl |

Cool experience, but they overcharged my card and, though I've contacted them twice, nobody will get in touch with me regarding this transaction. I foolishly didn't save my receipt, so now I'm just stuck with getting ripped off. And I don't live anywhere near Vegas, so I can't address this in person.

Give it a go

Stopped in for a cocktail during happy hour. Cool atmosphere, yummy drinks. We had something berry flavored and the southern firefly tea. Kind of an obscure location, but if you're around -- stop in!

If it weren't for prices and outlook...

We were here in August 2023. First of all, I have to say that the Cabinet of Curiosities and The Lock are two completely different bars. In the speakeasy "The Lock" you go through the Cabinet of Curiosities to get to the "entrance vault". We had a Reservation for The Lock at an early time for Las Vegas at 9.30 p.m., but arrived a little earlier after dinner and so had a drink here before. There are positive and negative points for me. The service was friendly and fast, the drinks tasted good. The prices were high, however, and it destroyed the actually exciting ambience that you looked through a large window into a passage of the mall of the Horseshoe Hotel in the basement. That's why I wouldn't spend an evening here. I rated The Lock separately under The Lock Speakeasy...

Curiosity Denied (for solo travelers)

By Jennifer J |

Visited this bar twice during a business trip. First night I had a drink off the happy hour $12 menu which was yummy (and tho it was a happy hour drink, it was still created fresh right there in front of me rather than something they premade.) The second night I had the Anna Polova cocktail which was really good. Would definitely recommend visiting for the creative drinks. Great place to relax and enjoy the semi-creepy ambiance. But FYI, if you’re flying solo, you won’t be able to do the puzzle game to access the speakeasy. Was kind of bummed about that which is the only reason I’m giving this a 4 star review instead of 5

Unique place

One of several ‘speak easy’ bars I wanted to find whilst on my vacation. The initial cabinet of curiosities bar is really cool and a great place to visit. Friendly staff and bar prices are high but expected within the property. Using the secret entrance to the hidden bar is kind of fun and I won’t spoil anything if you choose to do the little escape room. Nice touch. Once inside there is a 2 drink minimum but I found this to be a really clever way of trying something different. The first drink you can choose what you want and the second one is created for you by selecting options on a card that is placed on your table. After selecting the options that suit your palette and mood , a signature cocktail is created for you, which surprised me and impressed me greatly. Unfortunately the atmosphere was a bit quieter than I hoped but it was a mid week visit so maybe on weekends it got far busier. Definitely recommend a visit.

Cute place and good drinks

We saw this online and booked it when we had free time. They had us solve a puzzle to get into the place. When we got in, it was intimate and quiet. The first drinks we picked from the menu and the second the bartender made as a secret drink based of answering some questions. Both drinks were excellent

If you’re looking for a cocktail experience that’s part drink, part adventure, see Bernard!

After a concert at The Sphere, we wandered into the Cabinet of Curiosities. While our original plan was to get into The Lock, we missed the last entry by half an hour. As it turned out, this detour was more than worthwhile. The Cabinet felt like an adventure in itself. We were fortunate to meet Bernard, who I hesitate to call just a bartender—“master drink maker” suits him far better. After a chat about vodka vs. gin, I let him surprise me, and he delivered what he named Purple Rain. I call it perfection. Smooth, balanced, and unique—easily one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Bernard also challenged our senses with a butterscotch, buttery concoction that was liquid dessert. Between the world-class drinks and Bernard’s engaging conversation, the night turned unforgettable. We returned the next evening with a reservation to experience The Lock. True to speakeasy form, entry required solving a riddle of sorts—either piece together the clues for the code or “beg the locksmith.” We opted for the clues, which set the playful tone right away. There was a door to another room, but you will need to figure that entrance on your own. I can't share all of my secrets. Here, the rules were clear: a two-drink minimum. Drink one comes from the menu, while drink two is created after a short couple of questions. Both the Cabinet of Curiosities and The Lock were unexpected gems inside The Horseshoe.

Definitely a nice place to hang out

Great bar!! Fun vibe! The drinks were delicious. I thought the prices were very fair for the quality. Had a great time checking out the curiosities catalog!

Cabinet of curiosities!

This place is so awesome, interactive and fun! And the cocktails are great, which is a plus! The speakeasy part is so awesome! You make a reservation and then you call the phone that's on the wall when you get there, you're then led into a room where they give you a narrative, and you have to solve the puzzle. When you saw the puzzle, you look into certain locks to figure out the code that you then put into one of the doors. You then open it and you crawl through to the other side, which is the speakeasy bar! So cool! Definitely check out the back room because the photos move, cocktails are great. Service was phenomenal and so much fun. I highly recommend!

The best hangout spot in Vegas

This place is fantastic. My sister and I met up in Las Vegas last week for a reunion of sorts and to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We wound up spending a couple hours hanging out here and what a great time. The ambiance is awesome and the concept is very cool. We each spent a fair amount of time checking out and reading about all the "stuff". Don't forget you can open up the drawers too, they're filled with more "stuff". Chris was our mixologist out front and after telling him a little about what we each like, he made us each a cocktail that were really, really good. Craig was also there and he was kind enough to show us around the speakeasy in the back, which is even more awesome than the front if you're wanting a nice place to hang out, have some great drinks, and never run out of things to talk about, because there's unique "stuff" everywhere! If you want to get into the speakeasy, you need a reservation, but if you forget, there's a bit of a game you can play and if you win it, you'll get the next open reservation time. I don't want to say what the game is in case it's not the same each time. We even got to peek into the secret room in the back. There, for a couple hundred dollars (a few hundred on the weekends), you can have an intimate gathering away from any noise. You can connect your own music up to the speakers there and have a great time. I'm not sure, but I think you could fit 10 or so people in there comfortably. It'd be a great place for a small office party. Anyway, I can't recommend this place enough. Everything about it is great and so imaginative. I wish I had half the imagination and creativity that the folks who conceived of this place and who continue to add to it. The place is great, the people are great, and the drinks are great. You really owe it to yourself to check this place out.

Mixology class was amazing!

By kzakowski |

We did the Mixology class in the Lock. One of the top 3 things we have ever done in our years visiting Vegas! Bartender Dan is amazing! Knowledgeable, funny, friendly. We stayed after the class and Chris was an excellent Bartender as well! Drinks were amazing, ambiance is top notch. Must do!

Very pricey

The Lock (Horseshoe secret bar in Cabinet of Curiosities) cocktails pretty good, they mixed personal cocktails after you had filled in a questionnaire. Nice, quirky ideas for entry/cocktail mixing but we felt it was overpriced and lacking in ‘speakeasy’ atmosphere- Prohibition in Chester UK is far superior in its theming and cocktails on a secret Speakeasy theme.

The lock at the horseshoe

By Anne J |

Booked ourselves into the Lock at the HORSESHOE las vegas and we loved it, after following the vlues to get in you find yourself in a speakeasy, it's a 2 drink minimum you choose one from a list or ask for one of your choice, you then fill in a card with your likes etc and the mixologist presents you with your own cocktail, Nell was our flamboyant and friendly mixologist and she gave us the perfect cocktails. We would definitely do this again
